Raj Bakorni
Hello. Happy to be here again.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Good morning, Gary.
Raj Bakorni
On the last. This is like back to back almost. We did it just recently.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah. Like what, like two weeks ago?
Raj Bakorni
Yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
It feels, it still feels too long. Like I love having you on this show.
Raj Bakorni
I would do this every day with you if it was up to me.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Now, I wanted to ask because it's a rainy day in San Francisco.
Raj Bakorni
It is and I'm grateful for it. I love the rain.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Okay. That was going to be my question because on the way here I realized how much I missed the rain. Before this, I used to live in Seattle. Before Seattle, I lived in the Midwest areas that it would rain a lot. Right. And like on the way to work today, I had a moment where I'm like, man, I love the rain so much that like on this car drive I'm getting emotional just for the fact that it's like raining and this is my time. Cleansing.
Raj Bakorni
It's nice. Like I actually enjoy standing out in a nice thunderstorm. It's nice being inside when it's raining. Outside, it's cozy. And like, as you know, we just went through like a really hot summer here in San Francisco. Like record breaking hot. And I around the world too. I don't like heat. I'm much, I'm much happier when the weather's cold than when it's hot. And in San Francisco, we're fortunate that, you know, most of the time it's pretty moderate, right? We never get like super duper extremes. But no, I was surprised this morning because I'd not been following the weather forecast, but it was like, oh, it's raining. And I drove.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
It was a pleasant surprise this morning.
Raj Bakorni
I don't, I don't enjoy driving in the rain because a lot of people don't know how to drive in the rain in places where it's not like when I lived in LA and it would rain. Don't. You don't want to be on the roads because people in LA just don't know how to drive in the rain.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I feel like it's the same here. Like, when it rains here and I'm. If I'm going, let's say I'm going to drive to Oakland or something. Right. I feel like without fail, there's always some kind of accident that's happened.
Barrett Courtney
It doesn't rain here often enough, for sure, for people to, like, know the ins and outs. Yeah, yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
It reminds me of, like, when I. When I lived in Seattle, there was one winter where it snowed for like a week and it was pandemonium. Like, my job was like, hey, everybody, just stay home. And I was like, what? It's barely. I. For me, as a Midwesterner, I was like, I'm not gonna stay home. Like, it was barely. It was like an inch of snow. Like, everything's gonna be okay. I almost got in a car accident.
Raj Bakorni
The one thing I don't like about San. I mean, most of the time I like that San Francisco's weather is very temperate, but you don't really get seasons here. Like, you never get to see the leaves turn red and orange and all those wonderful colors. In fall, you don't get snow.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yep.
Raj Bakorni
You know, at Christmas or winter time, it's just very kind of flat. And I miss, you know, I miss the variation.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I had a moment this morning because I. I gave in and I started listening to Christmas music even though it's early. I mean, everybody. People keep pushing it up. Historically, I've been like, all right, at least wait until the day after Thanksgiving. But it feels like once Halloween was over, everybody just started going all in.
Raj Bakorni
Because it's just been such a terrible year. I think people are read to kind of get into.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
That's true. You need any reason to be happy.
Raj Bakorni
They have. They have technically already defrosted Mariah Carey. So, you know, I think she's out and about. Signifier.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah, she's ready to make that about.
Raj Bakorni
My wife has a. Had a rule where Christmas doesn't officially begin until you see Santa at the end of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, because that's how they did it in their house when they grew up. But like, yeah, I think, you know, look, whatever works for you. If putting your Christmas tree up on 1 November or 1 October, if that works for you, who am I to judge?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
And as I was listening to Christmas music this morning, what Were you listening to. Oh man, let me tell you.
Raj Bakorni
What do you like? What do you like for Christmas?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I mean, I will listen to some Mariah Carey. This thing is, I'll listen to like my favorite like current artists when they put out Christmas stuff. I'll listen to that. So Sabrina Carpenter had a Christmas album like maybe a year or so ago.
Raj Bakorni
Oh, she did?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Raj Bakorni
I'll have to check that out.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah, and like her one of her singles, nonsense that came out like a couple albums ago, she just made a Christmas version of it. So that gets a lot of play. There's a rapper named Chance the Rapper who put out a like a Christmas mixtape.
Raj Bakorni
I know who Chance the Rapper is.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
See if I ask Greg, Greg Miller right now. Chance. No, you're thinking of 21 Savage.
Raj Bakorni
No, I'm thinking. I'm thinking to Stormzy.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh yeah, Chance the Rapper. But like you probably have heard Chance of rapping music because he's super popular. But I'm pretty sure I've had this conversation with Greg Miller where I bring up Chance and he has no idea.
Raj Bakorni
So I just have to expect it. I however, am plugged into the cool vibes. I know what's going on.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Chance had a Christmas mixtape that came out like maybe eight years ago that I.
Raj Bakorni
It doesn't matter how metal you are, it doesn't matter how cool you are as an artist. You will put out a Christmas album.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh, you have to.
Raj Bakorni
And you know why?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
It's that money is that yearly check.
Raj Bakorni
That you get every year, guaranteed.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Now my thing is this morning again, as I was listening to the music, right. I had the moment where I was thinking about what you're talking about. The fact that like San Francisco doesn't get seasons. Like there's seasons, but it's not as.
Raj Bakorni
It never feels Christmasy like in the air and never.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah, that's a really good way to put it. It never feels Christmasy in the air.
Raj Bakorni
Because you know, it be hot over the temps of weather is so weird. Sometimes we get our summers really late. Pushing into October, November, you can still like really hot summery days.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
My thing is I was thinking about the fact that I've never had a New York Christmas and I don't know why New York comes to mind specifically. I think maybe it's because there's a lot of Christmas movies that take place in New York. Like Elf. Yeah, like, I mean Elf might be the example.
Raj Bakorni
New York is kind of the quintessential Christmas city. So some or some small town like in a Hallmark movie or Something.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
So I think I romanticize the idea of, like, going to New York during Christmas time and hanging out and talking.
Raj Bakorni
To do New York Christmas. Yeah. Yeah.
Barrett Courtney
What about a New York Thanksgiving?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I've never been a big Thanksgiving person.
Barrett Courtney
Just a thing of Roger. Reminded me the other day of Spider Man. One big Thanksgiving movie.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh, yeah.
Raj Bakorni
I like the food. The rest of Thanksgiving, I can kind of take it or leave it.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
See, I barely like the food during Thanksgiving.
Raj Bakorni
Really.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I'm not a turkey person.
Raj Bakorni
No.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Turkey is just like, too. It's too dry of a meat. And I know people. Every time I say this, people are like, oh, no, you can. Like, Kevin's always like, oh, no, you haven't had my turkey. Turkey. Like, I can make it moist or whatever. And I'm like, the moist.
Barrett Courtney
The moistest turkey is still dry as.
Raj Bakorni
Honestly. Yeah, turkey's the worst thing on the plate. You want the stuffing, you want the mashed potatoes, you want the gravy, you know, you want the green bean casserole, whatever else is on the plate. But then. But then it's really all about the desserts.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
What's your go to desserts?
Raj Bakorni
Pecan pie.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
100. Pecan pie.
Raj Bakorni
I'm not a pumpkin guy, so a lot of the pumpkin stuff just misses.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
See, I love pumpkin pieces. Pumpkin pie is up there for me. Oh, man. As far as. I mean, apple. Any. Any kind of pie, honestly.
Raj Bakorni
Yeah, like whipped cream on top. Oh, good. All day.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
So when you want entrees, what are you going for for Thanksgiving?
Raj Bakorni
Oh, I mean, it's. It's always pretty much a turkey. You can do ham, right? But, like, I've never really.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I prefer.
Raj Bakorni
Yeah, I never really understood the ham thing. But it's weird, though, because then you have turkey for Christmas mostly. Right. Why are you having your two big turkey meals only one month apart? I feel like they should be more separated out.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
See, I. Turkey for Christmas disgusts me. It's like, I'll. I'll let you guys get it.
Barrett Courtney
Turkey for Christmas.
Raj Bakorni
In England, we don't have Thanksgiving, but we have Christmas, and turkey is associated with Christmas.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh. So I associate.
Raj Bakorni
You could do like a nice prime rib or something on. What do you think would be great?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I mean, my. I'm from a Nigerian family, so I think usually we'll just do, like, Nigerian food.
Raj Bakorni
Okay.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Be like, jollof rice and, like, goat meat and stuff like that.
Tim Gettys
Right.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Chicken, like, you know, they would just go, yeah. Oh, my God. I was with family a couple of weekends ago for a celebration and, like, having so much Nigerian food at my disposal. I was like, man, this country. What are we doing in America with American food? Let's add some more flavor. Because there's no reason why one bite of jollof rice should make me tear up because it feels like I'm eating.
Raj Bakorni
American food is so bland.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh, my goodness.
Raj Bakorni
Speaking of, before we move on, since we're on the subject of food and we did touch on this last week, we were talking about British chocolate and versus American stuff because it was. We had a Halloween conversation about candy and stuff, and I was telling you about Curly Wurlies and you were like, curly Whirly's not weird. Because that's something I just made up. It is real. And I have one for you right here, my friend.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I'm very excited about. So, like, off the bat, the packaging, like the text here, this looks exactly how I imagined when he said Curly Whirly. Like this font is Curly Whirly font. I know it's not focused on the camera.
Raj Bakorni
Should just be called Curly Whirly.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah, no, this font for sure. Curly Whirly asphalt.
Raj Bakorni
Curly Whirly italic.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
It is thinner than what I thought it was going to be. Just from the get go from the packaging.
Raj Bakorni
Remember I told you it kind of looks like a chocolate ladder. Oh, like a chocolate DNA helix.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah, like a double helix. Look at this.
Raj Bakorni
Now what you're gonna. What you're gonna experience when you bite into that is like a chewy caramel kind of vibe.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Okay, let's give it a try.
Raj Bakorni
Oh, yeah, you gotta, you gotta.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I thought it was gonna be pretzel or like wafery. Yeah, you're right. It's like, it's like pure caramel inside this thing.
Raj Bakorni
What do you think? What's the initial verdict?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Okay, I'm not mad at it.
Raj Bakorni
I'll take it as a win.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I'm not mad at it. If I'm giving this a, like a rating, I'd say seven out of ten.
Raj Bakorni
Is that good? Is there anything in America that relates to that life? You're trying to describe that to someone. Well, it's like this. What is there? There isn't really anything.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
It's like Snickers without all the good stuff. You know, it's like. Because I don't think I've had anything like America. I'm trying to think of American chocolates. I don't think there's American chocolate. That's like straight up. Hey, here's straight up caramel.
Raj Bakorni
Yeah, and that's chewy.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Just chewy caramel. Inside this chocolate with nothing, like usually flat.
Raj Bakorni
You know, it's. It's a very strange form factor.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
People are saying, rolo, I don't know if I've had Rollos.
Raj Bakorni
You must have had Rolos. We talked about Rolos on the Halloween show.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Hey, but I don't think I said I had one. Maybe on the tape. I don't think I said I had.
Raj Bakorni
Rollover's in next.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I'm not mad at this.
Raj Bakorni
What I need to bring you is some Maltesers maybe we talked about superior to Whoppers. I'll bring those in next time.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Please do. Yeah, I hear all about these multi users and I'm like, oh, man, I do. I do love a Whopper. And so let me know.
Raj Bakorni
Yeah, well, they get us on. Get me back on with you regularly and I'll bring. I'll bring you a different treat each time.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh, yeah, you want to bite. You want to bite of my Curly Rolly Bear? I do. Yo, come get it. You can bite the other side or you can get the second one, I guess.
Raj Bakorni
Well, yeah, I've got a second one.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah, come get a Curly Rolly. I want the Barrett review.
Raj Bakorni
Yeah, you don't want to have to, like, eat it from the other end to avoid.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I mean, we could do like the, like the painting of the two dogs and the spaghetti we meet in the middle.
Barrett Courtney
I've done it with Greg Miller before.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh, man.
Raj Bakorni
Barrett is very much an iconoclast. He's very. You. You're usually the outlier when it comes to the opinion. So I'm not saying it's any valid or invalid, but, like, I can never. I never know where you're going to come down on something. So.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I mean, the cartoon. Why did I think that was a painting? I meant lady and the Tramp in the chat. I don't know why I thought it was like some Van Gogh painting of the two dogs. All right, go taking a bite.
Raj Bakorni
See, he's a fan, right?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Are you liking it?
Raj Bakorni
Could have gone either way.
Barrett Courtney
I really like caramel, so.
Raj Bakorni
Yeah. Yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
And see, I'm kind of indifferent on caramel. Like, it's not my favorite, but I don't hate it by any means. And so.
Raj Bakorni
All right, well, that one's yours.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I do love a peanut, though. And so, like, do they make a version of these with peanuts in them?
Raj Bakorni
I don't think there are any variants I'm aware of. All right, you're welcome.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Hey, Barrett, shout out, like, out of 10, what's your rating? 8.5 out of 10 from bear.
Raj Bakorni
All right. 7 and 8.5. That's not bad.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
All right. American Maltesers. Great. Gary.
Raj Bakorni
Yes. Let's go.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.

Remember, Bear has it brought up here.
Tim Gettys
Trying place by small robots and nobody noticed.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Hold on. Yeah, let's just. Let's just rock.
Tim Gettys
2024.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Lasers are a commonly used technology.
Tim Gettys
Snakes have been replaced by small robots and nobody noticed.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
The government tells us we must choose between resolution, frame rate and quality.
Tim Gettys
We will not be lied to.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
For the first time in this long bloody war, the full power of the visual triangle is ours. On sale. Look at that merch@kindafunny.com store.
Raj Bakorni
Oh, I see what you're doing. Okay. I've never heard that before. The visual triangle. Do you make that up or is that.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
That's Andy. That's the work of Andy Cortez right there. Yeah.
Raj Bakorni
What's the difference between resolution and quality?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I believe resolution comes down to like literally. Like literally how many pixels. Yeah, how many pixels are on the screen?
Raj Bakorni
And then quality is how good do those pixels look?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Exactly.
Raj Bakorni
Okay, got it.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. And so you can get that with, I think, Nvidia DLS.
Raj Bakorni
I was slightly disappointed and I bought a PS5 Pro to discover that. I assumed that it would be the one that would get us past that menu at the beginning of every screen. Well, do you want it to look good or do you want it to run good? Right. And maybe PlayStation 6 we'll finally get there. I don't like having to make that choice every time we're gonna be here for. I'm anxious about it. Like, am I playing this? Is this the best one? Switch back and forth. I don't know what looks better.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
And sometimes I was caught off guard.
Raj Bakorni
When now there's all these other ones. Performance, RT Fidelity Pro. It's like constantly becoming more like PC.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
If I wanted all this, if I wanted all this, I'll get a PC. And that was the thing that shocked me. We got the PSI Pro in for review. Right. Greg kept his in the office for some of us to look at if you want to mess around with the settings. And so I booted up Horizon, the remaster of Horizon and one of the settings. And it was still performance versus fidelity. It was like high quality on both where it was like pro performance versus pro fidelity. But I was like, why am I still making this? I thought the whole promise of it was to not make this choice.
Raj Bakorni
Exactly. But I think we're going to be about it. Like someone like me, who I get. I get paralyzed by. By choices like, oh, but you know, and you go back and the thing is, sometimes it takes a few seconds to go to the menu. You can't put them side by side. Right. Sometimes you can watch like a video online or whatever.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Raj Bakorni
But you know, it's hard to do a comparison. And like, unless it's night and day obvious, like sometimes I generally go towards performance because the higher frame got to almost always looks better.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Raj Bakorni
Right. I feel like that difference is more noticeable than the fidelity quality.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I. 1000%.
Raj Bakorni
But again, why are we still making the trade off? Is like you said, it's 2024 now.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
You said you bought a PS5 Pro.
Raj Bakorni
I did.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Why?
Raj Bakorni
Good question.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Why did you buy a PS5 Pro?
Raj Bakorni
Let me tell you something. I've had a terrible year. Like really bad. Just all over the place, just a mess. And I've discovered that one of the ways that I'm dealing with it at the end of the year is with a lot of retail therapy, I'm just buying a lot of shit that I don't really need.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
That's valid. Yeah.
Raj Bakorni
Honestly, I barely play my PS5. I play when there's a PlayStation exclusive. Spider Man, Last of Us, Uncharted, God of War, you know, Ratchet and Clank, the list goes on. Of course I'll play on PlayStation and I'm happy to do it. I personally think, weirdly that PlayStation, even though they're very similar technically, maybe it's something to do with the artistry or the type of game or whatever. I generally think PlayStation games look a bit better than Xbox games. Like my wife, like in general.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Or are you talking about like first party stuff?
Raj Bakorni
Like the Quadruple A stuff. So my wife was playing Horizon Forbidden west recently and I was watching it. I talked about it on the show before going, like, man, that looks fucking really good. Like, would an Xbox. Would the Xbox version look as good as that? I don't know. I just know that that looks phenomenal.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Well, I think it comes with the benefit of developing for one console. Right. Like, they can. Guerrilla can put in all their effort into just making this look the best.
Gary Whitta
Right.
Raj Bakorni
You haven't got to worry about Series S or.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah, like, I think on the Xbox.
Raj Bakorni
Side, you're thinking about different platform.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Exactly. Like, you have to consider PC, you have to consider Series S. Yeah.
Raj Bakorni
And also Series X. I've said this before. You couldn't have made Last of Us Part two at the beginning of the generation. Right? It came at the end.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Raj Bakorni
Because developers generally, you know, after, like the six, seven, eight years of a console generation, have learned so much about the console's architecture that they can now squeeze so much more out of it. You know, they've learned all the little weird tricks that they didn't necessarily know on day one.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Raj Bakorni
Right. So the games generally tend to look better as the console ages, which is strange. But that's. That's how it. That's how it goes. I didn't need a place. I mean, what have I bought recently that I didn't fucking need?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I hear the one to play, if you haven't played Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, I think that's the one to check out on PS5 Pro.
Raj Bakorni
Yeah, I have to play the first one first because this time.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh, you haven't played the first one.
Raj Bakorni
I got to get to it. Maybe the first. Finally, the reason to do it. Well, I bought it saying, well, I can offset it by selling my old one. I could probably get a good price. My old one, it's a fat model. It has a disk drive and it also has a two terabyte upgrade in there. So it's a decent PlayStation 5. I'll easily sell this to someone. So far, I've had no, no interest. So if anyone out there is looking for a PlayStation 5 to offset the cost of this ridiculous purchase that I absolutely did not need. I've been buying. I've been buying a few of these little. These are much cheaper, but these little. I told you, I'm into retro gaming right now. Yeah, these little.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Did you get the analog?
Raj Bakorni
These. No, these little amber. Nick, they're tiny little consoles. They look like they're about the size of a Game Boy.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Okay.
Raj Bakorni
And I think they're running some kind of Android, you know, operating system.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Did you buy this off the Tick Tock shop?
Raj Bakorni
No, I bought it off Amazon.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Okay.
Raj Bakorni
I've not heard of this, so I'll bring it in next time. A tiny little console. It looks, looks almost exactly like a Game Boy but with a really high quality screen.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Okay.
Raj Bakorni
And it ships from somewhere. Okay. So that's. Yeah, I have, I have the RG35. The one there, the purple looking one. Yeah, that's the RG35XX+. And I have another one that's more. It's called the, the RG35XXH, which I also like. And here's the thing about it that it's a bit dodgy and I don't know how they get away with doing this. Timo AliExpress fine on Amazon. I don't know. That thing comes with an S A 64 gigabyte SD card built in. Already in it.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
No way.
Raj Bakorni
That has 5,000 games on it. Castlevania.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh, that cannot be legal.
Raj Bakorni
It's extremely strange. Yeah. And I don't understand how they get away with it. But like pretty much every.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
You might be snitching right now. Like I don't want to call you out. Everybody knows. You might be snitching right now.
Raj Bakorni
Everybody knows. I replaced it with a card that has all my Commodore 64 and like other games on it. And like it has, it has a mame emulated bit into it. So like, it's just so weird to me that I could be playing like Chase HQ or Gauntlet or fucking Starblade or any of the games I used to enjoy. And that used to be these big massive cabinets.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Raj Bakorni
And now every single one of those games that you ever. That you couldn't dream of playing at home because the hardware was too hardcore. It's on a card this big and it runs on a handheld the size of a Game Boy.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Isn't that mind blowing?
Raj Bakorni
Amazing.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
It's nuts. Like the fact that the Steam deck, I'm over here playing games on the Steam deck, wink, wink. And like it's all just on there. I can have it on the go. I would never imagine this back when I was 10 years old playing these games on the PS2.
Raj Bakorni
I'm still trying, I'm still trying to figure it out because it's being, you know, it's, it's, it's all very homebrewy. But there's a, there's an emulator called Retroarch that will emulate almost Anything. And the nice thing about these little guys, I pay 50 bucks for this thing, this little amber Nick, and it's got a really good quality screen, all these games coming. And you'll notice when, when you ever watch you. Because there's a lot of retro games, YouTubers out there that will reviewing the latest because there's so many of these different companies. Abernick is just one of many. And they'll often, when they talk about, like, putting games on there, they'll often make a point of saying, like, well, obviously I can't tell you where to get the ROMs, because, you know, that would be illegal. You know, and there's an area, you know, you're supposed to have, you know, you're supposed to have legally purchased these games before you'd, like, rip it onto a rom. But, like, in reality, there is a dark pit of lawlessness out there where you can get these ROMs. I, of course, would never condone that personally either. But, you know, but you. As soon as you get it, you've got 5,000 games. Like, how is this.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I mean, they shouldn't be selling it. That's like the, that's the first thing they should be giving you, like the, you know, capabilities to play these things and then go, hey, find the games.
Raj Bakorni
And that's how it works.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
That's gonna get to.
Raj Bakorni
Works with every angle. If you, if you emulate. If you download Retro Arch, which is a popular emulator, it'll give you the cores which are the. Each core is for a different system. Okay, so this is the NES core. And this will help. This will emulate NES games for you. They won't give you any games and they won't even tell you where to go get them. It's like, you know, good luck. Like, you'll find them if you go looking. But like, but this, this one, they just give them to you. Castlevania.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Send me the link. I want the link to this thing. Just for research.
Raj Bakorni
Yeah, I almost brought one in as a show and tell, but yeah, go to the Anbernic website and you can pick up like one of the cheaper ones for like 50 bucks. It's crazy.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah, I'm gonna need to check that out. Just like y'all need to check out.
Raj Bakorni
Patreon.com is as a little mini HDMI port on top. Plug that into your tv. Pair of Bluetooth controller.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I mean, that's nice.
Raj Bakorni
Now it's. Now it's a retro console hooked to your tv.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Do you have a Steam deck?
Raj Bakorni
I do have a Steam deck and I love it.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
You know you can play all these same things on the Steam deck.
Raj Bakorni
Well, no, I mean, I could if I hacked it, but like, I can't play fucking Castlevania on the Steam deck.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
No, you don't have to hack it. I'll explain this to you later. Of course, we're an 11 person business. All about live talk shows today after KFCD, you'll get games Cast, which is actually a surprise screencast reaction show to Mission Impossible Cap 4 and Thunderbolts trailers. The stream after that is going to be Mike playing the Halo 2e3 demo. Thank you to our Patreon producers Delaney Twining and Carl Jacobs. Today we're brought to you by Sonic at topgolf, Marvel Snap and Shady Rays. But we'll tell you about that later. For now, let's begin with what is and forever will be the Roper Report. It's time for some news. We have five stories today.
Raj Bakorni
I'm listening. I just need something.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Do you think.
Raj Bakorni
Do you think a Baker does it?
Barrett Courtney
22 minutes in.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
22 minutes in. It's. Here's the thing, right? People in chat are like, get to the news. Get to the.
Raj Bakorni
It's a slow news day. There's not much.
Barrett Courtney
I just don't you a favor because I think.
Raj Bakorni
Because there ain't no fucking news.
Barrett Courtney
This might be the longest it's been into a show that we've gotten to the Rope report.
Raj Bakorni
No, no way.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
It might be.
Raj Bakorni
No way.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I think the episode with Gary and Jared might.
Raj Bakorni
Yeah, I was gonna say go watch a Jared show.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah, no, I used to. I used to listen to those and like those are my favorite episodes because it legitimately is just a kind of funny podcast, Right? Two people having a good time. And so I like this episode. Let's get into sad news though, with story number one. Tony Todd, voice of Spider Man 2's Venom, among many other roles, dies at 69. This is Kat Bailey at IGN. Tony Todd, the voice of Spider Man 2's Venom', among many other roles, has died at 69. Deadline was the first to report the news. Todd appeared in numerous roles across a long career dating back to the 1980s, including Platoon, Final Destination, and Star Trek the Next Generation, where he played Worf's lost brother Kern. Todd's career in horror, which included a title role in 1992's Candyman earned him a lifetime achievement award at the New York City Horror Film Festival. More recently, Todd had a starring role in Insomniac's Spider Man 2. Insomniac wrote in a statement released shortly after Todd's death. Quote, insomniac Games is heartbroken by the passing of our friend Tony Todd. He brought so much joy to our studio during the production of Marvel's Spider Man 2 and to many fans around the world with his inimitable voice. And in presence, we are Venom, dot, dot, dot, forever. And quote. This is a sad one on Friday.
Raj Bakorni
Yeah, I've always been a fan of Tony Todd. He had, he had a quality to him, you know, as anytime he showed up in something, you knew something was off, right?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah, he just has that like a presence.
Raj Bakorni
He had that voice, he had that look. It just, you know, it's like as soon as you see me go, oh, he's going to be in a certain kind of movie. And he obviously did a wide range. One of the. Weirdly one of the things I remember him from, because I used to love back in the day, NYPD Blues Me, my favorite cop show, and he had a small run on that and he played an asshole detective, which is just a straight up role. But usually when you saw him, people remember him, right? From Candyman, obviously. And then. But what I remember him from movie wise more than anything else was the Final Destination movies. Right. Because if you remember, and someone will correct me if I have this wrong because my memory of it's going to be hazy. He plays like. I think he's like a detective or something. He plays like a regular dude. But the way that he speak and because it's Tony Todd, the way that he speaks and the stuff that he talks about gives you the impression that. Wait, is this guy actually the Grim Reaper? Like, is he like. Because he seems to know. He's the one who says like, oh, no, like, you know, you avoided those deaths and those deaths still need to be paid. Yeah, it's like, why would you know about that if you're just a cop, right? This is some otherworldly that you're into. But he brings that creepy vibe, right? He's the one, he's. His job is just to explain the. To you that, oh yeah, this is why you're all dying off is because, you know, the universe is like correcting the, the balance of the people that should have died on that day. But he does it in a way that makes it feel like, dude, you seem to know a bit too much. About this, like, who the fuck are you? And he has that. And Tony Todd is the kind of guy that can deliver that. Oh, he's a mortician. There you go. So, yeah, but he is. But he, again, the vibe is like, that ain't no fucking mortician.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh, yeah, right.
Raj Bakorni
He's someone. He's someone else.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
The fact that he's able to bring that to Venom, too, in Spider man, like, such a cool thing like this brings me back to, I think, the fact that video games have gotten so big that now, like, there is this crossover between actors that, you know from Hollywood, things like Final Destination.
Raj Bakorni
Right.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
And now, like, you know, a story like this has, you know, been able to infiltrate into the games industry. Because this is somebody we love for the role of Venom. Right. Venom was, like, such a major part of the last Spider man game and was a character that all of us were looking forward to, right. To, like, seeing being portrayed in that game. Brings back to, like, Lance Reddick, who's another Hollywood actor that passed away.
Raj Bakorni
Yeah, we lost a lot of great black actors this year. Lance Reddick, Andre Brauer, James Earl Jones.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah. Tony Todd, like, that's like, in. Yeah. Like, it's been such a. Like, you know, such a string of losses. But then also, you know, seeing that crossover with video games of Lance Reddick, of course, you know him from all the movies, but then you see him.
Raj Bakorni
And he really leaned into that role.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh, yeah. Like, leaned into the role to the point where it's like, oh, dude, when they adapt the Horizon TV show, like, I want to see him maybe portray that character again.
Raj Bakorni
Right.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
And so it's always sad to, like, you know, read stories like this, especially for people who are playing roles that I think they bring that same level of, oh, okay, you were an actor. You do tv, you do movies, but you obviously are bringing that same respect to the role into video games. You're not treating the game as lesser.
Raj Bakorni
Did a hilarious Xbox ad as well that you should check out at some point. It's very, very funny.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Who was that you said did the Xbox ad?
Raj Bakorni
I think it was Lance Red.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh, it was Lance Red. Okay.
Raj Bakorni
But no Tony Todd. You know, you know what he's often forgotten for? I've not seen it. Brought up a lot in the conversation about Tony Todd's body of work. But don't forget, he's in the. He's fucking in the rock. He's like, the worst of them.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Raj Bakorni
You remember, like, they're all bad guys. Right. But even by the end, Ed Harris is like, I'm not that bad a guy. I'm not going to go through with this. Tony Todd is one of the guys going, no, no, no, we've got to drop the VX gas on all the people. Like, motherfucker didn't come all this way to not kill a million people. He's an asshole. And he has the worst line in the movie, the famously the worst line in the movie. Even though it's a great scene and a brilliantly written movie otherwise. I don't know how much, how well you remember this, but him and Nick Cage are kind of like dancing around. They're in like the missile where the, where the VX missiles are. And it's such a bad setup. And Nicholas Cage says, oh, let's talk about music. Do you like the Elton John song Rocket Man? It's like, what the is going on? Suddenly and then Tony Todd, he's got this knife and he's like, I'm gonna kill you. You know, Steven Seagull style. He goes, I don't like soft ass. It's such a great line.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
That's a great impression right there, Gary.
Raj Bakorni
Yeah. And then, and then, and then he fires the rocket into him and like shoots him and he gets like the best death. But yeah, it's just such, it's a weirdly written scene. I don't like soft ass shit.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I'm going to start saying that my real life, anytime Greg Miller is going to be like, hey, bless you, I'll play some Fallout 76. I'm like, yo, I don't soft ass shit. Hand me a fighting game. But yeah, like, you know, of course, this is very sad to hear our hearts, you know, go out to this family and the people that worked with him and all that stuff. Great actor. And yeah, like, if they were bringing back the Venom character, like, whoever is being in that role is going to have big shoes to fill. Right? Like. But again, overall, very sad story. Rest in peace, Tony Todd. Let's move on to story number two. But before we do, let me tell you about patreon.com kind of funny and YouTube.com kind of funny games where you can go and get the kind of funny membership which allows you to get shows ad free. And speaking of ads, let us tell you about our sponsors.

Blessing Adeoye Jr.
And we're back with story number two. Ladies gentlemen and bees, it has happened. Kojima has met Carolyn Polachek. I want to welcome to the stage the one and only Raj Bakorni.
Gary Whitta
The tastemaker strikes again, everybody. The tastemaker strikes again.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
So we were talking about this this morning and Gary has no idea what is happening. Can you recap this for Gary and the people in the audience that don't know?
Gary Whitta
Yeah, absolutely. So in August, the end of August, Blessing and I went to Japan for the Astrobot event. But we also had the pleasure of talking to and meeting Kojima, which was an incredible experience. And part of the thing that we did is we gave Kojima. Everyone at the office chose an album or a movie or just a piece of art that we really loved to show to Kojima and give a little gift for doing the intro to our spare bedroom.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Raj Bakorni
Oh, that'd be. That's scary because like, what if you give it to him and he says, I don't like soft ass shit.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I don't like the soft ass shit.
Gary Whitta
But it was sick.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Kojima would say that.
Gary Whitta
He would say that. He would say that in America.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Really, really good.
Raj Bakorni
Kojima, do you speak through a translator? How's he's English?
Gary Whitta
Yeah, it was. It was through a translator.
Raj Bakorni
Okay. Yeah.
Gary Whitta
I mean, there were some things that I could tell. Like when we're saying he understood a little bit.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah, like he obviously like speaks English, but I think it's one of those ones where I think, yeah, translator makes it easier for everybody.
Gary Whitta
Did you hear what Mike gave to him?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
No.
Raj Bakorni
I want to know. I want to kind of want to hear what you all gave to him. What were these tributes? I mean, did you sweat over this?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I think a lot of us did, actually. I'll say all of us did. Yeah, definitely did. Yeah. I gave him a challengers Bl ray because I knew he loved challengers and so I just decided to give him.
Raj Bakorni
Okay, that's fair. Okay, that's Kind of a cheat, though, right? You.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah, but I wanted to be safe and also, like, I do also love challengers. And so it's kind of this thing.
Gary Whitta
Oh, there it is.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh, my God. He's brought it out so well.
Gary Whitta
That one was really, really quick. But the challengers one was really grainy. Talking about how cool Kojima is. He's so sick. Where he. He got the. The challengers and he was very excited because they didn't sell it in Japan.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
He was trying to get you.
Gary Whitta
Trying to get Blu Ray. Couldn't get it. And then he says, oh, my friend did the music for that movie. And I'm like, bro, your friend.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Your friend, Trent Reznor.
Gary Whitta
You can't. Like, that's insane that you're just calling them in front. That's awesome. This is Mike. This is what Mike gave it to give to Kojima. It was Snow Bike Mike Goes Big. It is a actual DVD of him doing snow biking back in the day. And this is like one of those, like, early YouTube videos where he's just doing extreme sports and he's like, smoking weed and just Wiz Khalifa is in the background. And it's. It's just the stupidest video in the world. And he burned a DVD and gave it to Kojima.
Raj Bakorni
Snow Bike Mic goes Big. Jabroni Boys Productions presents A Dummy Ass Grapes A film by Joe Ginger Washburn Music by Wiz Khalifa Director of Photography.
Gary Whitta
Earl the Squirrel yeah.
Raj Bakorni
Holy.
Gary Whitta
Yeah, it's legit.
Raj Bakorni
All right. Okay. And this is what he gave to. And now that is going out on a limb.
Gary Whitta
Yeah, it really is. And it was.
Raj Bakorni
And how did Kojima react to that?
Gary Whitta
We have the video somewhere. Yeah. But it was incredible because that was the one where he. That was the first time we saw him laugh. He just started laughing hysterically. And then he opened it up and then he saw. It was just a burn DVD that just had Snow Bike Mike dvd as what it said on it, just on Sharpie. And then he just was, like, shaking his head. He's like, what is this? He was.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
It was.
Raj Bakorni
I mean, that's one of. That's one of a kind, though. I mean, that's.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah. I mean, now we.
Gary Whitta
We ended up selling that on Patreon. But the cool story about this is that I ended up giving him an album.
Raj Bakorni
Do you think he ever put that in his DVD player and watched it? No, he went straight.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
My theory is that. Pretty sure the DVD we gave him doesn't work.
Gary Whitta
It doesn't work on PlayStation. That's the issue.
Raj Bakorni
Okay.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
So we tried it in a DVD player.
Gary Whitta
Yeah. So it works on Xbox, but I mean, you know, he's. He has PlayStations he's not going to use. He's not going to use.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah. I'll just say, what do you think?
Raj Bakorni
Kojima's watching his movies on some fucking oppo. High end, dedicated 4K Blu Ray he ain't.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
But he's one of those gonna be able to play a DVD like him. Blu Ray dvd. Yes. Yeah. Okay. Player. So I don't know.
Gary Whitta
I don't know because sometimes when it's.
Raj Bakorni
Something you've ripped or whatever, you know, you know, you never quite know.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah, I have a PS5, but I'm saying like, Kojima probably has like a high end Blu Ray player. So will that be.
Raj Bakorni
Yeah, that went straight in the trash.
Gary Whitta
Oh yeah, absolutely. So did most of our gifts, probably. But the one that I gave him was an album by Caroline.
Raj Bakorni
When you gave it to him, is it like this?
Gary Whitta
No, we had a whole box and we had like little, like, we, like, we gift wrapped this. We made this like legit as hell. And I also made like little notes from each of us that like had like these little envelopes that said, like, hey, here's the reason why, you know, we chose this for you. So it was like a legit thing.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
It was a cool thing. It was cool.
Raj Bakorni
Okay, and your gift was.
Gary Whitta
Yeah, it was Caroline Polachek's album. She's an amazing artist. Everyone listen, listen to Caroline Polachek. And the album was Desire, I Want to Turn into youo. And I chose it specifically.
Raj Bakorni
I mean, is she a big name? I've never heard of her.
Gary Whitta
She's like an indie. She's big, but like, big in like, you know, the indie sphere.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Okay.
Gary Whitta
Like if you, if you listen to like, you know, if you're a pop girly, like, you know her, everyone knows her in sphere. But outside of that, it's pretty, it's pretty small. But I introduced, I picked this album because I was like, man, like, I know that this is his type of music. And I know specifically, like, she's a gorgeous woman and she's like a model. And like, I know that he's going to like she's going to become his muse.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah, right. Like, he's going to be obsessed.
Gary Whitta
Yeah, he's going to be obsessed. So I chose this album specifically because it has her on the COVID And I was like, if I give this to him and I say, hey, Kojima, you listen to this, he might be interested in It. So that was one of the first ones in the box. I think I made sure to put it at the top because I was good. I was putting together the box. I was like, you know, let's see what he says. So I put.
Raj Bakorni
And how did he react to it?
Gary Whitta
So he went through all of them. He kind of ignored it at first. He like just went through and he was like, looking to the rest of it. He was very excited to see all these gifts, right? He wanted to see everything Nick gave him Die Hard. He was very excited about Die Hard. So he's like, he's going through that high and then he goes through it a second time. He's like looking through all of them at the ending. And then he picks up my album again, the Caroline album, and I say to him, hey, Kojima, you would really like this one specifically. He kind of looks at it and then just kind of puts it away immediately. So I'm like, okay, that's the end of it, right? And then the next day or two days later, he then posts that he's listening to that album.
Raj Bakorni
I'm like, oh, so he played it? Yeah.
Gary Whitta
I'm like, that's exciting. And then two days later. I know. Three days later, when we came back from Japan, he posts a long thing saying like, hey, Roger from Kinda Funny gave me this album and I loved it so much that I went and bought her previous album. And then over the next few weeks, they started meeting on Zoom, and then they met on Zoom again, and then they met on Zoom again. And then now finally they're here in Paris together. And I think that this is the beginning of something beautiful.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Barry, if you can bring back up the thing, because, yeah, it's him basically, like, hanging out with Caroline in front of the Eiffel Tower. If you go through, like just posting multiple pictures of Caroline Polachek and I believe her producer.
Gary Whitta
Yeah, Danny.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Her producer. Danny. I want to know how far do you think this is going to go? Like, because this has already gone.
Gary Whitta
What is the end of this?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
This has gone way further than what I thought.
Raj Bakorni
Do they know collaborate on something?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yes.
Barrett Courtney
She's got to have like the lead song on DS2. I think at this point it has.
Gary Whitta
To be something big or it has to be maybe OD or maybe even. Was it Physn? That's the.
Barrett Courtney
No, I'm thinking DS2 because of how regularly. Regularly they're meeting and how frequent that they're meeting with DS2 on the horizon.
Raj Bakorni
For the thing is, he meets every year. He's such a. I mean, I love Kijima. He's the ultimate star fucker, right? If there's a celebrity, Kojima is getting a picture with him, right?
Gary Whitta
Yeah, you're right. You're right.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I've not heard that term before.
Gary Whitta
Star.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Star is crazy.
Raj Bakorni
But the thing is, he's a star. I always found this interesting because I think like he's, he's a big enough name in, you know, video games are legit. Yeah, he's a huge name in video games. I often wonder like when, like for example, when someone says to any given celebrity, hey, Hideo Kojima wants to meet you. Like that reaction is going to be anywhere from who the fuck is that? To oh, Hideo Kojima wants to meet me. Or anywhere in between, right? You don't know what you're going to get. But I think it's, you know, he's all, he's all he seems to post is pictures of him hanging out.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I mean he is legitimately like I. We think about game developers and we think about like, you know how I think mysterious and like how like non front facing so much game development is. Kojima is one of the few that I think has broken through where I'll be listening to rappers rap about Kojima, right?
Gary Whitta
Like, remember when Kanye was tweeting, he was like, I want to be Kojima.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah, Like Kanye west was tweeting, I want to meet Kojima. J. Cole, like two albums ago made a Kojima reference Lupe Fiasco has talked about.
Raj Bakorni
It's like, it's like calling George Clooney a star fucker because he's always hanging out with celebrities, right? Like Kojima is a fucking star. He's a legit star.
Gary Whitta
And they go out of the way to come to Kojima's place and go to his studio and take the photo in the white background. The reason why I think this is more. And I know this is more than just a little thing. First things first, he went to Paris to meet her. That's crazy. That's why this man never leaves the office. He's just grinding on DS2, the fact that he left to just meet her, it seems like it's crazy. But two, he did a podcast recently where he has this like radio show. And if you're aware of this, it's I think, yeah, yeah, yeah. He does a radio show where he's like actually introducing and like showing music that he's listening to. And I translated it of course from Japanese to English doing the auto translate. But like from what I can Gather. He did say, like, oh, he's like, we've been talking. We've. We've met on Zoom multiple times. And then someone asked him as co. His co host said, so what are you guys working on? He's like, it's secret. So they are working on something. It is confirmed. And that is. It's very exciting. And I. I hope it is, like, going crazy. Like, I hope it is od, because I did write in that note, she would do an amazing main theme for od, but I. It is probably death.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
This is someone gonna end with Roger in the credits for od. We got.
Gary Whitta
We gotta make it happen. Just a little special thing. Just a little bit. Just say Roger McCorney. Or you can just say the guy from Kind of Funny. I'm down with.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah, you deserve a special. If she ends up in the, like as a lead song or even just on the soundtrack for any of these games, I think you deserve a special thanks.
Raj Bakorni
Yeah, it's a. It's a really good. I remember a little bit this from my days doing Animal talking where we would have, like, different celebrities come and sit and we put them on the couch together, even though they had not. They had no reason to know each other. And then in some cases, people went off and like, collabed afterwards. It was like. It was.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh, that's cool.
Raj Bakorni
Because they were on the show together and you feel like a little bit like you're. You're a part of it. Right?
Gary Whitta
It's awesome. So, you know, I got her the bag, so hopefully I get, like, 1% of it.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
That's.
Raj Bakorni
I mean, so you're obviously. That obviously was the big winner gift.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh, yeah.
Gary Whitta
Oh, yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
In the long run, yeah.
Raj Bakorni
Big loser was.
Gary Whitta
So that's a big winner for us. Big success on patreon.com and the crazy.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Thing with this, too, is, like, not only did you introduce Kojima to her, you introduced her to Kojima. So, like, both of these people might be indebted to you.
Raj Bakorni
Roger, just think, did she know who he was?
Gary Whitta
Yes.
Raj Bakorni
Okay.
Gary Whitta
Yeah. Someone sent a screenshot when this was all popping off, where she was talking about, like, collaborations that she would want to do, like, in the video game sphere. And she's like, I'm not a big gamer. But she did mention Kojima specifically.
Raj Bakorni
If you stopped 100 random people on the street and asked them, who is Hideo Kojima? How many people do you think would say, I know who that is?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
31 random people.
Raj Bakorni
Yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Depends on where.
Raj Bakorni
Around the country, like a shopping mall somewhere.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Like. Like an American.
Raj Bakorni
That's where they usually. That's what they do when they. When they collect the questions for Family Feud and shit like that.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Okay.
Raj Bakorni
They do. They do them at shopping mall.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
If I'm being frank.
Raj Bakorni
Lot of people around.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I. I'll say seven.
Raj Bakorni
Seven out of 100.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah. Yeah, but that's me being like. That's me being jealous.
Raj Bakorni
Who is the. Who is the person from gaming that would get you the highest number?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I. But I. I think it's Kojima.
Gary Whitta
Mario.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Unless we're talking about characters.
Raj Bakorni
If you're talking Miyamoto or Kojima, who gets you more?
Gary Whitta
Kojima.
Raj Bakorni
Kojima.
Gary Whitta
Kojima.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I think they might be around equal, but I'd probably. Yeah, maybe lean towards Kojima somewhat.
Gary Whitta
People are saying half 31. No, you are over. You are overselling this. There's no way.
Raj Bakorni
No. Yeah.
Gary Whitta
No, there's no shot. Five. Yeah, I think five is. Is about.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I meas. The way I measure this, the way I measure everything is. If I asked my mom, yeah, do you know Kojima? She would say no.
Gary Whitta
And I know after the last few months of me having to explain this to everyone in my family in immediate circle of like, who's Kojima? Oh, do you know Death stranding?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
No.
Gary Whitta
Do you know?
Raj Bakorni
But blessing, you make a good point. Really. If you did it here in San Francisco, you get a higher number than if you did it in like Arkansas.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Exactly. For sure. So yeah, if I'm asking a mall in San Francisco, I'm going to say six or seven. If you're saying like in like. Yeah, In a mall, Illinois, in San.
Raj Bakorni
Francisco, I think you'd get at least 20.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
No.
Raj Bakorni
Oh, yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Like, like, let's fucking do it.
Raj Bakorni
Make some content out of it.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
How wide is the net? Like, are we asking all age groups? Are we asking all Democrats?
Raj Bakorni
Random people.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Random people. Nah, man, I'm just thinking about.
Barrett Courtney
I'm thinking of them all.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Hey, little girl.
Gary Whitta
This target, like a creep with a camera be like, oh, excuse me, dude.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I kid you not. Again, this last weekend on. I don't know, I said again, like, I've told the story. On Saturday, went to a party, right? Went to a party. It was like this thing. It was called Love. Love Affair. It was in Mission. It was like you go in and it's the most hipster thing possible. Sure. They have a dance floor on the bottom floor and then like a bunch of vendors selling like, like thrifted clothes. And then you had a person giving tattoos. It was a crazy party. But one of the things I noticed with my friend that was there, we were like, oh, I might be on the older side of, like, the age group here. Right. I'm 30. It felt like most people there were from the ages of maybe 20 to 25. And the whole time we were talking about it and we were like, we should just ask random people. We should start asking random people how old they are or, like, what the age demographic is. And, like, I fought against.
Raj Bakorni
You can't include women in that.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Well, that's the thing is I'm like. I'm like, sara, I'm not about to go on the dance floor and start asking people, how old.
Barrett Courtney
You know, that's fucking weird.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
That's weird.
Barrett Courtney
That's weird behavior.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
But I. It took me the whole night to build up the courage to go to one of the vendors to be like, hey, what do you think the demographic is here? And that was our show.
Raj Bakorni
I will ask people shit like that all the time. We couldn't go to.
Gary Whitta
We couldn't go to.
Raj Bakorni
We go to the downtown mall because it's all closed off. But go to, like, Stonestown or something. There's a game stop there. There's cool there.
Barrett Courtney
Yeah, but, you know, I used to ask.
Raj Bakorni
I was coming up to them with a camera and a microphone asking them, like, that's what happens now. Everyone's making content.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Somebody asked, what was the answer? The answer is they didn't give a good answer. They're like, oh, like, 20 to 30.
Gary Whitta
They're like, why are you asking me this?
Barrett Courtney
Also, did you just drop the word demographic, you nerd.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Get out of here.
Raj Bakorni
Remember, do you remember? Remember I told you when I was at TwitchCon a few years ago, and I really felt that because, like, everyone was 25. 20, 25.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Raj Bakorni
And I was 50. And I'm like, I really. I honestly, I wanted to leave. I felt. So that's where I was.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Raj Bakorni
And so old and like, it's like I felt like was there with someone's chaperone, legitimately.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I was like, I need to go home, make sure.
Raj Bakorni
It was the launch of this energy drink, juvie, right? And it was 100. This is the 100 Thieves energy drink. And I cornered the marketing manager at one point and I said to him, what actually is. I'm not trying to be facetious. What actually is 100 thieves? Like, what is that? Like, what do you make? What do you do? And he was literally. He was like, well, it's a good question. It's a vibe.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Imagine going to Kaiser.
Raj Bakorni
Yeah, it's A brand. It's a vibe. Yeah, but I understand that Pepsi. Pepsi's a brand, but they make soft drinks.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Let me.
Raj Bakorni
Let me find someone I can answer that for you. No, no, no.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Here's the thing. Because, like, I'm with you, Gary. What do they do over there?
Gary Whitta
How old is this guy?
Raj Bakorni
He was. He was older. Like, he's in his 30s or something.
Gary Whitta
And he called it a vibe.
Raj Bakorni
I can't remember exactly what it. What it was.
Gary Whitta
That's so sick, though.
Barrett Courtney
State of mind.
Raj Bakorni
I see Mike wearing the 100, I'm like, what does it take to be a 100 thief?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
If somebody came up to me and asked me what kind of funny was.
Raj Bakorni
What do you guys do at a convention?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Somebody asked me what kind of funny was, I'll probably give the same answer.
Gary Whitta
Yeah, it's a vibe.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
You know, we hang out.
Raj Bakorni
It's just a feeling.
Barrett Courtney
You would not give that answer.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Because I'm tired of being like, you.
Barrett Courtney
Built a podcast company Higher Night to ask one person what the demographic was.
Gary Whitta
And I know you're thinking about the entire time. I know you were like, how do I say this?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh, my gosh. And I. Which.
Gary Whitta
You're scouting all the vendors. You're like, which is the one that I should ask.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
She was busy too. She was trying to sell people some shit. But me and Zara told me, okay.
Raj Bakorni
Someone in chat just said, it's an esports. Okay. So I get that it's esports. Don't get me started on that, by the way. That has great apparel and lifestyle. Okay, apparel I can understand because I've seen Mike rocking some of that lifestyle. What is that? What does it mean to rock the 100 Thieves lifestyle?
Gary Whitta
It's a vibe.
Raj Bakorni
What is the lifestyle?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Raj Bakorni
Is it living in a big house with a bunch of content creators earning money for doing fuck all?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I mean, they're not doing fuck all they're doing. They are streaming.
Raj Bakorni
They are absolutely doing fucking.
Gary Whitta
What are we doing?
Raj Bakorni
Explain to.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
We're esporting.
Raj Bakorni
They're playing Valorant video games.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
That's what we do.
Gary Whitta
Literally what we do.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Well, I guess to be fair, we do if my Roger does work.
Raj Bakorni
But, like, most of us do some around the house and came back two hours later, and I've not done it. I've been playing video games. And she said to me, you've been doing fuck all for the last two hours. I'd be dead to rights.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah, I mean, well, like, you're not. You're not out here reviewing games, though. You know what I mean, like, they're out there. Like, they stream the games and I think they do the esports. I sound so old. They do esports. The esports to make money. So, like, you know, it's generating revenue. When I play games, I'm generating revenue because I'm gonna. You know. When you play games.
Gary Whitta
No, no.
Raj Bakorni
Of another sport that you can compete in sitting down. And the only part of your body that's moving is this. Look at this. See this? That's it.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Well, that's more shots. That's. That's it. You just described any office. You describe any officer. Calories.
Raj Bakorni
My burning blessing.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I mean, probably quite a few. Like you, I think thinking burns calories, right? Yeah, that's a think at a fast pace.
Raj Bakorni
Sports.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
You were saying? Chess. Nascar.
Gary Whitta
Nascar. You driving a car?
Raj Bakorni
I'm gonna drive a NASCAR like this. No, no, no. I mean, any idea how physically demanding Formula one NASCAR truck drive around a track in a fucking Formula one car and tell me that it's not.
Barrett Courtney
You know what?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I can do it right now.
Barrett Courtney
I can do it right now. I sit. I'm already sitting there.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
There he goes. Oh, he's going so fast. Vroom, vroom. I drove to work today. I'm good. I got so much energy left for.
Raj Bakorni
The rest of the day. I'm not even like an auto sports fan, but, like, you know nothing about auto sports without telling me you know nothing about auto sports.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Blessing.
Barrett Courtney
What do you think the age demographic is for a hunter? 100 thieves.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh. I mean, at this point, like the people that are. That are in hundred thieves. I'm gonna say early 30s.
Gary Whitta
Yeah, right.
Raj Bakorni
They all age out now. Now they're fucking. How do you think?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I don't know if Gen Z, Gen Alpha definitely doesn't give a about. Right. Gen Z, do they care about 100 thieves? I feel like Gen Z is our generation.
Gary Whitta
Yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
No, Gen Z, Gen Z and Gen Alpha, they're watching Kaiser. Okay.
Gary Whitta
Also, don't. You're not.
Barrett Courtney
Unless we are not.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Sorry, sorry, sorry.
Raj Bakorni
It's millennials.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Millennials. Sorry, I didn't mean to lump us into.
Gary Whitta
Don't you look at me and call.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
No, I didn't mean that. I didn't mean to imply that. No, but yeah, no, they're watching. Kai Snot. They're watching.
Gary Whitta
Yeah, Speed.
Raj Bakorni
I guess I see some of these streamers sometimes because I watch like Rage compilations and stuff. Oh, that's my. That's my new fucking rabbit hole. Is watching. Is watching. Fucking streamers. Degenerate gambling streamers. Losing all Their money playing live blackjack on fucking steak.com. what the fuck I was thinking about doing? I was thinking recently, Roger, I need to shake things up. I was thinking about getting into high stakes online gambling.
Gary Whitta
Oh, shit. That's a good, that's a good to.
Raj Bakorni
A blackjack table because, you know, there's these live blackjack dealers now. Oh, yeah, have you seen the ones.
Gary Whitta
That like quit because they get so angry?
Raj Bakorni
You know, they're just staring at a camera that's like blinking a green light or a red light or whatever and there's a streamer on the other end of it, but it's a live dealer and these guys are playing 10,000, $20,000 a hand. Now if I rolled up to one of those tables, Roger, with 200 bands, easy, and I'm. And I'm. And I'm betting 20 grand a hand on blackjack. You would watch that, wouldn't you?
Gary Whitta
I would totally watch that.
Raj Bakorni
I mean, I'm thinking this could be the train wrecks.
Gary Whitta
And if you're streaming it, then you. That's a tax write off if you lose.
Raj Bakorni
Think about that.
Gary Whitta
Yeah, think about that.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
What, you get all that money back.
Raj Bakorni
Exactly.
Gary Whitta
That's how taxes work, everybody.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Not real financial advice.
Gary Whitta
Really quick about, about the esports thing. My brother used to be a, he was a semi pro CSGO player.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Okay.
Gary Whitta
I've seen this motherfucker. His, his, his mouse is going like this. He's going like all over the place. So it's, it's kind of a physical.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
So you're saying he was a really.
Barrett Courtney
Bad semi pro CS go player?
Raj Bakorni
Yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Because aren't you supposed to stay still in that game? Like, aren't you supposed to be like.
Gary Whitta
Well, no, he had, he had his like sensitivity really low and then he would like move around like this. And then he also had a, he would make his, his screen like a square screen and then like stretch it out like, like the, like the resolution so then he can see the heads a little bigger pro.
Raj Bakorni
If you, if you watch, you know, because sometimes the streamers have a camera like right here on their mouse hand. Yeah, if you watch like the, the elite, like the professional players, they do move around a lot. Because they do. You're right. They have their DPI set really low, so. Because it obviously the higher is, the less precise you can be. Yeah, there is, there is more movement.
Gary Whitta
Exactly.
Raj Bakorni
But you know, if you're playing like Starcraft or something, then you're barely moving.
Gary Whitta
You're just moving.
Raj Bakorni
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Roger, you're gen Z, aren't you?
Gary Whitta
Yeah. Okay, 99. Barely. Not barely. Actually, yeah, I'm firmly Gen z, but like 99, I wish I was 2000 so that I could like, fully be.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
We got like four generations represented here.
Gary Whitta
That's beautiful.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Between the three of us, that's beautiful. All right, enough of you. Roger. Get out.
Barrett Courtney
This is why I like math and bliss.
Raj Bakorni
This is why I like slow news days.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Story number three. Overwatch 2 is going back to 2016 with the new classic mode. This is Michael McWherter at Polygon. Blizzard is giving players a chance to relive the original version of Overwatch with a new limited time mode for Overwatch 2. Launching Tuesday. Overwatch Classic mode will feature the original 21 heroes and 12 maps, plus all the classic unbalanced and chaotic gameplay from Overwatch 1.0, giving Overwatch 2 players, new and old a taste of how the game played back in May 2016. In Overwatch Classic two teams of six will square off without any kind of role restrictions, and Heroes will have their original launch day abilities. It goes on, of course. I think this pretty much explains itself. Gary. I'm all about this. Did you, did you play Overwatch back in the day?
Raj Bakorni
Yeah, when it first came out, I played it a lot. I really, I really enjoyed it and I haven't played overwhelming. I kind of drifted away. There wasn't really a regular group of people for me to play with. It's one of those games you want to play with a group, not just pickups. Right. And then I never got into Overwatch 2 because the, you know, when it first came out, people were like, what the fuck is this? It's just like Overwatch 1.1. Like, how is this. How is this Overwatch 2? Yeah, and I haven't gone back to it since, but like. But that was the question I was going to ask is someone who used to like Overwatch and I did play quite a bit of it, like in the first year or two.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Raj Bakorni
Where is it right now? Are the vibes on or off? Is it. Is it thriving?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Is it struggling?
Raj Bakorni
Like, where is it in the landscape of these? Because there's a lot of these.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I think it's cruising now. I think it is, like, appealing to the players that are, you know, tuning in to play and all this. But it's not, it's definitely not the talk of the town that it was like Overwatch 2, I don't think did for. Did for it what it needed to do to like, like, make it the hotness again. But Like, I don't think it's suffering. Like, I don't think Overwatch 2 is necessarily like hemorrhaging players.
Raj Bakorni
If I were to install Overwatch 2 when I got home, as someone who used to play but hasn't played in a long time and has never really been that good at shooters to begin with.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Raj Bakorni
Am I gonna have a miserable time, do you think? No, I.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
So I'm Gary. I'm similar to you. Where I played, I. I did play Overwatch for like years and then maybe, like, maybe by year four or five I kind of dropped off of it. But in the last year I've been going back because I have a group of friends that love playing Overwatch and they play every Monday. So I've been going back and playing and playing with them. And honestly it is kind of the same still. Like there have been many updates, there are new characters, there are new maps and all these things, but it's not so overbearing and like it's not been so like layered on top of that. It's a completely different game. It's the same game, but you're just going to get like right now there's just more characters, more maps, more.
Raj Bakorni
I'm just wondering that like the player base is so mature that I'm gonna get every game I get thrown into. It's going to be like hardcore players.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
You'll be fine. You'll. It's still. It feels like you're still playing people that have the same school. I went back in the day.
Raj Bakorni
I don't play multiplayer shooters anymore for that reason, but I've been enjoying black. I've been playing a lot of zombies. Black Ops, right? And that's fun because it's, you know, horde mode, it's four players against the zombies and that's good, but as soon as you match me against other players. So I jumped into Nuke Town because I used to like Nuke Town back in the day. And I just got my fucking ass handed to me. Like it was not fun and it should be. Presumably it's ranking me against other low level newbie players, right? So say, okay, this guy's a level one. Let's not throw him in at the deep end. Let's give him a bunch of other like levels one through five or whatever. I presume that's what it's doing. All I know is I got my ass kicked.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I mean, the same thing happened to me with that's. I think that's called a Call of Duty thing because for me I played so much Black Ops 1 and 2 and 3 and like took a long break from Call of Duty. Try to come back with Call of Duty, Black Ops 6. And yeah, got my ass handed to me. And it was a thing where I think I had the realization of one, I just don't got it anymore. But then also I had, I had to think about the question of did I ever have it? Was I ever. Was I ever actually good at Call of Duty?
Raj Bakorni
The last game, the last first person shooter I ever actually was really good at was quake two. And that you're going back 30 years.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Raj Bakorni
Since then. This is why now I play Helldivers, Zombies, Gears of War, Horde mode, things like that. Where it's play human players against NPC enemies, PvE. Anytime I have to play against, I would because I used to enjoy pubg until it got to the point where I just wasn't competitive anymore. Generally you want to. I've said before, like, it's great that you don't have to be good at games to enjoy them. Right. You can, you can still enjoy a game if you, even if you're not great at it. But like in a multiplayer shooter type scenario, you do have to be at least somewhat competitive to enjoy yourself. Because if you're just getting headshotted every, every five seconds, that's no fun. Right. And that's kind of where it's gotten for me. I have not stayed current with how to play these games and everyone else has moved on and so like I'm just. And I was again, never that great to begin with. When you get, when you get a few kills and you're feeling competitive.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah, this is good.
Raj Bakorni
Let's keep going. But like if all you're doing is finishing bottom in the rankings every time, you're going to move on to something else.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah. Well, Black Ops 6 has been out. It's been a pretty big game for a lot of people.
Raj Bakorni
Huge.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
But if I wanted something smaller, say the tiniest news I needed to know about, where would I go? Gary. Shuffling.
Raj Bakorni
You sprung it.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I know. It's because I skipped a story. You weren't prepared for it. I know. Gotta keep on your toes. There you go.
Raj Bakorni
You'd go to our last story, the Wii News Channel, where we cover all the small news items you need to know about. I should be off book on that by now.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
It takes some time. I mean, listen, I still read for most of the transitions I do here. Story number four was gonna be a full story, but I have now demoted.
Raj Bakorni
It into what the fuck is this music?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Listen, Nintendo, like I mentioned earlier, they're scary.
Raj Bakorni
Did they step in?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
No, they didn't step in, but we're just getting ahead of it.
Barrett Courtney
We made the moves before they could step in.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
We're just getting ahead of now.
Barrett Courtney
That's on a legit modern platform. Like, the second I realized that I was in Slack and Tim was like, I'm already on it. Like, yeah.
Raj Bakorni
So Nintendo has been fucking like this with the CDs lately.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I know. When we don't want to be one of those people.
Raj Bakorni
The whole time I did that. Don't ever tell you this story. The whole time I did Animal Talk, I was absolutely convinced that Nintendo was going to come down on it like a ton of bricks. You know, it's like, you're using our game in a way that is not because it wasn't pg. Right. It was like we would say, fuck. We would make dick jokes and stuff like that. And it's like, this is Animal Crossing.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Raj Bakorni
And I was like, sooner or later, someone is going to call me and say, you've got to stop doing it. Every. Every week. I felt like I was on a knife edge.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Raj Bakorni
When T Pain came on the show, I remember thinking, that's it. We're done.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
See, that's actually pretty surprising that nobody, like, knew about that.
Raj Bakorni
And I found out why. I spoke to someone high up at Nintendo. This is long after Animal talking was done. And I found out that the reason why they never came down on it is that the top, top, top people in Kyoto, in Nintendo loved it. They thought it was hilarious. That's awesome. Let him keep doing it. And that was. That was like, the nicest thing for me.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh, yeah, that's really cool, but.
Raj Bakorni
Oh, really, guys, come on. What is this? Compliance in advance? Obedience in advance?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yes.
Raj Bakorni
Barrett, I'm fucking disappointed in you.
Barrett Courtney
It's less so of like.
Raj Bakorni
I'm just.
Barrett Courtney
Trying to, like, help. It's a V I can. To keep, like, the company afloat, you know?
Raj Bakorni
The first thing you're gonna hear from Nintendo is not gonna be, we're gonna. We're gonna litigate you into oblivion. It's gonna be, hey, stop doing that. And then you stop doing it, or.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
It'S a copyright strike. And that's a big deal. We don't want. We don't want any of those because it's three strikes, you're out. Yeah.
Raj Bakorni
How many do you have right now?
Barrett Courtney
I forget, but I think it.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I think it's more than zero. 2.
Raj Bakorni
No, seriously, you guys are Living on a fucking knife edge. So what is this music?
Barrett Courtney
This was from Carter Harrell, who does a lot of jingles for us. So this is the.
Raj Bakorni
Okay, so it's like you gave him the bar. Okay. It's like. Yeah, okay. All right, all right. Okay, look, you. You guys gotta run a business. I respect that.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.

Blessing Adeoye Jr.
This is the Black Mesa developer. I don't know if you ever played Half Life Black Mesa.
Raj Bakorni
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
But yeah, they're working with Team17, the publisher, to make that interesting. Okay, yeah, honestly, like I'm. I really want to check that out just because it all sounds really cool and I know this team does good work and so. And then lastly for WE News, Moon Knight has been announced as a playable character and Marvel Rivals. And that is it for WE News.
Raj Bakorni
It's funny, sometimes I don't hear the news stories because I'm reading the fake headlines in the back and those are sometimes more entertaining than the actual news.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah, I mean, sometimes they're too close to home. Right, before we get out of here, we got some super chats for you. Of course, you guys been running in all day or all show with the super chats. Alex Frazier writes in and says, I went to the Macy's parade in NY a couple of years ago and had an absolute blast Being there in person. Tundra boy says, ask Gary how good Tanox teacakes are. Was it tanux?
Raj Bakorni
Tunnocks. Tunnocks.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Tunics.
Raj Bakorni
Scottish.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Okay.
Raj Bakorni
And they're like a little chocolate dome. Like, chocolate covered. And then it's kind of marshmallow inside. And then like a biscuit layer, cookie layer on the bottom.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
How, like, how big are they? Because you made it look like really. Okay. Like a little dome.
Raj Bakorni
Trying to think, like, imagine if you cut, like a golf ball in half.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Okay.
Raj Bakorni
Maybe a little bit bigger than that.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Ooh.
Raj Bakorni
Maybe a little bit bigger than that.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
That's kind of beefy.
Raj Bakorni
No, they're good. You get six in a box.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh, okay.
Raj Bakorni
Yeah, I'll bring some in. I can. I know a guy.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Are you. Oh, you know, I was gonna ask, are you importing these snacks or are you meeting, like, some dark Alley and.
Raj Bakorni
Being like, yeah, it's like the vendor from Resident Evil 4.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Okay. Oh, man.
Raj Bakorni
Or Zua. You know, you got to know where Zur is at any given time.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Oh, that's so cool. KizRock90 writes in and says, did you know the term Brawlic comes from DBZ Brawley? I don't think that's true. I saw that going around on the Internet the other day, and I think that was disproven that people were saying, brook, maybe before Brawley, but I don't know, double down. And you're wrong if that really is the true thing.
Raj Bakorni
I saw somebody just mention Stellar Blade in chat. Should I play Stellar Blade? Because it also came up as one of the games that looks better with the PS5 Pro enhancements. I'm looking for a game that's going to show off this ridiculous purchase that I shouldn't have bought. Are you Stellar Blade be that game, or is it just physics?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I mean, here's the thing. I like Stellar Blade, but it's not like my favorite game of the year. Like, it's a good action game, but it's very skippable. And so if you're looking for. If you're somebody who's like, looking for story and narrative and world building, I don't think you're getting.
Raj Bakorni
You're not.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
You're not going to get that from Stellar Blade. You're getting really fun action. If you like a tough action game. If you like any souls, like, he types of. Types of games. If you like even, like, maybe Devil May Cry. It's not as fast and fluid as Devil May Cry, but it kind of has some of that energy. Then I I could see you digging it.
Raj Bakorni
Okay. Yeah, maybe I'll wait for to show up on like PS plus or something.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
PS plus would be a great way to play it, honestly. It's a good looking game too. I will say.
Raj Bakorni
Yeah. Yeah. What do you think? What's your game of the year right now?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh, probably metaphoric Fantasia. Oh yeah, metaphors.
Raj Bakorni
I'm still only like several hours. I don't think I'm even past like the demo portion of it because that demo was.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh yeah, demo was long.
Raj Bakorni
But no, I'm loving it.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
It's like it. The longer you, the further you get into that game, the more it kind of just is like a man. I can't believe how good they are at making video games like this team.
Raj Bakorni
What do you think are going to be the main, the main players, the main nominees for Game of the Year.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Like at the game Awards.
Raj Bakorni
Yeah. Well also the ones that actually matter. Like what, what do you think are going to be like the top five?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I'm going to say Astrobot.
Raj Bakorni
Yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Metaphor.
Raj Bakorni
Yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I think Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth.
Raj Bakorni
Really?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah, yeah. It's popular enough. Like I think popularity goes a long way and Final Fantasy 7 is like, you know, in the media space. People love Final Fantasy 7.
Raj Bakorni
I want Rebirth, but I've got to play the first one first.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
And then after that I think it becomes a little bit of a toss up because I could see maybe Helldivers two in the conversation.
Raj Bakorni
I think, I think it should be.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I could see Black Wukong. I could even see Balatro. I could see Dragon's Dogma too. Honestly, Barry, you popped up.
Barrett Courtney
I agree with your first three. I agree less with Hell Divers. And what was the other one that you.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Dragon Song one?
Barrett Courtney
No, the Black Myth. Black Myth. I think those had like really big like fan attention. But if we're talking about like websites and like game awards and stuff, I, I, I'd be hard pressed to see.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh, Dragon Age. That's another one.
Raj Bakorni
Dragon Age came in hot people. Yeah. Beautiful looking game that is.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh, that game is gorgeous. I can for sure see Dragon Age getting nominated.
Raj Bakorni
Animal. Well and well, I think we'll be thrown in there. Bellatro is my runner up for Game.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Of the year's high on my list. But that's another one where I think.
Barrett Courtney
That being indie, like yeah, the category, that's a category.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Popularity goes such a long way. Oh shadow the yard tree, Somebody inside.
Raj Bakorni
Do you think there's any case to be made for for Black Ops, given that it's probably the best received one In a lot, not to win. But like, is it going to be in the conversation?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Maybe. I think this year, yes. I think this year.
Raj Bakorni
First campaign in many years. Right?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Raj Bakorni
People are liking the multiplayer Omni movement, all that.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Honestly, I think I, I could even see in the game awards. I think it might be a sleeper pick. I could see, I could see that coming through and maybe even getting nominated.
Raj Bakorni
For game of the Year and certainly in its category. I think it would.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
People keep saying Infinite wealth in chat and like I hear you. Like, I know Roger loved Infinite wealth, but like Yakuza never gets nominated.
Barrett Courtney
Yeah, right.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Am I crazy? In the last, in the last however many years, I think there are certain.
Raj Bakorni
We talked about this before, certain genres and certain franchises of games that are always, I don't know, for some reason they get penalized for something.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
And I think the thing with like a Dragon Slash Yakuza, if you are going to disagree with me inside, is that I think they just come out too often. I think if this was a long ass wait for Infinite wealth and we didn't have all those side games and didn't have like all these other games that are basically Yakuza.
Raj Bakorni
Yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I think that maybe it would get a lot more of a. It'll be bolstered up a lot more by the crowd and by press and all this stuff. But because we get, get these games so often, I don't think it feels as special to people and as worthwhile to people when they come out on that like critical team as well.
Raj Bakorni
Taking it off the yearly cycle. Right. Whether or not he'll actually do that, I don't know. But they were talking about giving them. Giving the developers more time to breathe. We'll see. Gonna be interesting because it ended up being a real bang. Remember how 2023 was like a banger year? Like all these great games.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Raj Bakorni
This is, it's happened again. This has been another great, great year.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I mean I, there's like, man, we're far into the show so we can't have the full conversation. But there's just a conversation we had as far as. I think every year has more and more games coming out and so like you're going to have more banger games. But me and Mike were talking about this on the stream last time that like, it's just like it, it is impossible now to keep up with the shit that's coming out. Right?
Raj Bakorni
Like, yeah, I mean the backlog's bad.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
The backlog, there's no. I, I can't even think about that you can't play games for a living.
Raj Bakorni
And you can't fucking 1000%.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I have spent maybe the most hours in a year playing video games this year. Like I've been in front of the screen playing video games this year more than any other year. And I've probably played the least amount of video games because I am playing 80 hours of Final Fantasy, 100 hours of metaphor.
Raj Bakorni
100?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah, metaphor for 100 hours. 60 hours of Persona. Right. I played like 90 hours of Tekken. I am playing these games that are huge.
Raj Bakorni
That's why. That's why the little bite size games are so valuable these days. The things that you can finish in 20 hours. A little indie game that's not gonna take over your entire life.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Raj Bakorni
But you know, I throw a quick recommendation out there because I've been enjoying it. I think you guys actually did some content with it recently. Karate Survivor. Really, really fun. Obviously just Vampire Survivors reskinned to look like Jackie Chan, Rumble in the Bronx style. But it's real. I'm really, really enjoying it. They found a way to kind of like bring the, like the karate, like putting together combo moves and stuff. And it feels like playing Vampire Survivors but more fun and just different enough that it doesn't feel like another clone. I've really been. It's on steam for like five bucks. I've been really enjoying it.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah, I think Tim and Nick did a stream of it and they were loving it.
Raj Bakorni
Yeah, super fun.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.

For those watching later on YouTube and listening later on podcast services around the globe, Global Man Kebabs is in here. Let's see here. Missed WWII news. The 8bitdo Nintendo 64 controller for the analog 3D is now up for pre order. Wait, I think it went up for preorder the same day. Or at least it was supposed to, but like one of the colors didn't go up and so I assume that means that both the colors are up. Kebabs.
Raj Bakorni
I just wonder what the economics of those are. Like how big a market is there for a Quite expensive Nintendo 64 emulator console?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Let me tell you.
Raj Bakorni
And I'm a company and controller. Like how many people. I get it. It's a scene. But like how many people can there really be to justify whatever it costs to develop and manufacture that?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
At least one in this office. Because let me tell you, I pre ordered immediately. I cannot wait for my analog 3D. I don't think Tim got it. I don't think Bear, you didn't get one either, right?
Raj Bakorni
No.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah. Like I don't know how much it's going to sell. All I know is that I will be in line. I am. I am very excited to play the black one. Yeah, this looks sleeker. That's it for your're wrong.
