What's up y'all? It's Tim Geddes from Kinda Funny. Here's the deal. We have been celebrating 10amazing years of Kinda Funny and it's been going great. We added the Kind of Funny membership to Apple Podcast and to Spotify. We added video on Spotify. We made a whole bunch of different changes to our content lineup. And with that, there's always going to be some hiccups and some hurdles. We are trying our best the last couple weeks to figure out how to get all that content to you as fast as possible in as high qual as possible with as few mistakes as possible. And we're, we're learning how to best do that. There's been a lot of patience we've had to ask from you for us to have the time to kind of figure all that stuff out. As we're doing that, I wanted to keep y'all updated on where we're at, just so there's as few questions as possible. I know there's a lot of questions and I want you all to know we're working very hard here to try to figure this all out. It's just difficult with the amount of shows we do on the amount of platforms that we have. And I'm not even talking about the KF membership side. I'm even just talking about delivering things when they're live. Video podcast, all of those things. With that being said, one of the things I wanted to update everybody on because we do know the source of what's happening is the different podcast feeds. You might have noticed that a couple shows are coming up multiple times. If you've subscribed to different Kind of Funny shows over the years years. The only podcast feeds that we are using going forward are Kind of Funny Games Daily, Kind of Funny Games Cast, Kind of Funny in Review and Kind of Funny Podcast if you previously subscribed to PS I Love U xoxo, xcast, Screencast, kfaf. We have cool friends. Any of the shows that somebody killed those feeds have now been replaced with the feeds of four shows. I said so gamescast Games Daily KF Podcast in Review. You do not need to subscribe to multiple instances of each show. So if you are, you can unsubscribe and just make sure you're subscribed to one of each of those four and you should not be getting duplicate uploads going forward and everything will be great. If you are trying to get any of that older content, you can find it on YouTube or of course if you're On Patreon the entire history of.

Kind of Funny is there.
Tim Geddes
You can get that but for free can get all of it on YouTube. Unfortunately this was a merge that was out of our hands. We were not prepared or planning to have it happen this way and it is now irreversible. So this is just something that we are dealing with and I'm g let you know right now I'm not that happy about but that's more the past than the future. I'm very happy with where we're at now. This is going to be better for Kind of Funny going forward. So thank you for your patience. I'm so sorry that this this is confusing and and weird but sometimes the best things in life are so moral of the story is make sure you're subscribed to Kind of Funny Games daily Kind of Funny Games cast Kind of Funny in review Kind of Funny Podcast just once each on podcast feeds on the podcast service of your choice. Do not subscribe to multiple instances or else you're just going to get so much, so much content. There you go. One other thing. Now moving to the KF membership side of things. We are trying our best to figure out the best workflow to record shows, edit shows, get them uploaded and get them to you as fast and in high as high quality as possible in video and audio forms where applicable. And we are realizing there is a lot of issues with how Spotify handles things, how Apple handles things, how Patreon handles things, how YouTube handles things. And we're trying to find the best path forward to get it to everyone as fast as possible. One major issue, not issue, one major.
Greg Miller
Thing we have noticed is the Spotify ad free version for Kind of Funny members. The audio only version is the first thing to post then the public for everyone. But with ads, video and audio post at the same time and then the video ad free post on Spotify that is out of our control and it all has to do with processing. We upload, then it's on their end to process and it is just in order of when that thing is done processing and then it gets to everybody. We're trying our best to find ways to record in different codecs and formats and whole bunch of production tricks and tips that we're trying out here to make that process as fast and again.
Tim Geddes
High quality as possible.
Greg Miller
But just letting you all know we're doing everything we can to make this an optimal experience. It is just very difficult when we're working with other people in their systems. But you might notice if you are. This really mainly affects Spotify non kind of funny membership people. So if you're trying to get the show free on Spotify, you might notice that it's. There's a lock on it. That is just because the ad, the version with ads that's free for everybody has not yet processed but it is processing. So keep coming back, keep refreshing, it'll eventually be there or get the kind of funny membership and it should be a little faster there that's on Spotify. I don't want to get too much in the details here. The most important thing for you to know is we are on it. We're trying our best and there's always going to be uploading and processing and time and I wish it was all instant.
Tim Geddes
Maybe one day it is.
Greg Miller
But for now I appreciate your patience. Thank you so much. And I want you to know that you are Craig just ran in with the stars in the bank. This is the life that I have to live. Until next time. It's been our pleasure.
Kinda Funny Gamescast: An Update on Kinda Funny Podcast Feeds Release Date: January 23, 2025
In the episode titled "An Update on Kinda Funny Podcast Feeds," hosted by Tim Geddes and Greg “GameOverGreggy” Miller, the Kinda Funny team provides listeners with comprehensive updates regarding recent changes to their podcast feeds, subscription management, and challenges faced in delivering content across multiple platforms. This summary delves into the key discussions, insights, and conclusions drawn during the episode.
Tim Geddes kicks off the episode by celebrating Kinda Funny's 10th anniversary, highlighting significant milestones and recent expansions:
“We have been celebrating 10 amazing years of Kinda Funny and it's been going great.” [00:01]
Key expansions include the addition of the Kinda Funny membership to major platforms such as Apple Podcast and Spotify, the introduction of video content on Spotify, and various adjustments to their content lineup. These enhancements aim to provide a richer and more accessible experience for their growing audience.
With the expansion comes the complexity of managing multiple shows across different platforms. Tim Geddes acknowledges the resulting "hiccups and hurdles" as the team strives to deliver high-quality content efficiently:
“We are trying our best the last couple weeks to figure out how to get all that content to you as fast as possible in as high qual as possible with as few mistakes as possible.” [00:30]
The team is actively learning and adapting to optimize their workflow, requesting patience from listeners as they navigate these adjustments.
A significant portion of the episode focuses on restructuring the podcast feeds to eliminate confusion and duplicate subscriptions. Tim Geddes provides clear instructions on the necessary changes:
“The only podcast feeds that we are using going forward are Kind of Funny Games Daily, Kind of Funny Games Cast, Kind of Funny in Review and Kind of Funny Podcast.” [01:30]
Listeners who have previously subscribed to shows like "PS I Love U xoxo," "xcast," "Screencast," or "kfaf" are advised to unsubscribe from these outdated feeds. Instead, they should subscribe solely to the four aforementioned feeds to avoid receiving duplicate content.
Greg Miller reinforces this by pointing out the availability of older content:
“You can get all of it on YouTube.” [02:19]
For those seeking past episodes, alternatives include YouTube and Patreon, where the complete history of shows is accessible.
Tim Geddes expresses disappointment over the necessity of merging podcast feeds, a change that was unplanned and irreversible:
“Unfortunately this was a merge that was out of our hands. We were not prepared or planning to have it happen this way and it is now irreversible.” [02:00]
Despite initial frustrations, Tim remains optimistic about the future improvements this restructuring will bring to Kinda Funny's distribution strategy.
The discussion shifts to the Kinda Funny membership program, where the team is focused on optimizing content delivery for members. Tim Geddes elaborates on the efforts to refine workflows for recording, editing, and uploading shows:
“We are trying our best to figure out the best workflow to record shows, edit shows, get them uploaded and get them to you as fast and in high as high quality as possible.” [03:00]
However, the team faces significant challenges due to the varied handling of content by different platforms like Spotify, Apple, Patreon, and YouTube.
A prominent issue discussed is Spotify's handling of podcast uploads, which affects the release timing for both ad-free and ad-supported content. Greg Miller explains the specific scenario for Spotify users:
“Spotify ad free version for Kind of Funny members. The audio only version is the first thing to post then the public for everyone.” [03:42]
This results in a staggered release where ad-supported audio and video versions are published after the member-exclusive content. Greg highlights the unpredictability of Spotify's processing times, which are beyond Kinda Funny's control. To mitigate this, the team is exploring different codecs and production techniques to expedite the process.
Tim Geddes reiterates their commitment to quality:
“High quality as possible.” [04:23]
Listeners using Spotify without a Kinda Funny membership might encounter delays indicated by a “lock” icon, signifying that the ad-supported version is still processing. Greg advises:
“Keep coming back, keep refreshing, it'll eventually be there or get the kind of funny membership and it should be a little faster there.” [04:56]
Both Tim and Greg emphasize their dedication to enhancing the listener experience despite the technical challenges:
“We are on it. We're trying our best and there's always going to be uploading and processing and time and I wish it was all instant.” [05:00] – Tim Geddes
“We are doing everything we can to make this an optimal experience.” [04:23] – Greg Miller
They acknowledge the complexities of working within other platforms' systems but remain determined to find the best possible solutions for their audience.
As the episode concludes, Greg Miller extends gratitude to the listeners for their patience and support:
“Thank you so much. And I want you to know that you are Craig just ran in with the stars in the bank. This is the life that I have to live. Until next time. It's been our pleasure.” [05:16]
This heartfelt closing underscores the team's appreciation for their community as they navigate through the ongoing enhancements to their podcast services.
