Nick
I'm dapping anyone until I get a cool name. I need a cool name.
Andy
Let's see the Lord of Loot.
Nick
Cuz your pack's still already a lord. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Can I be a duke?
Andy
You can have two lords. The Duke of Destruction.
Nick
Yeah.
Mike
Destruction is good.
Andy
I like that. That's pretty good. This is the kind of funny games
Mike
cast, distraction and more. I don't like.
Andy
That's a good one. This is the kind of funny games. Guys, each and every weekday we get together to talk about the biggest reviews, previews, comics in video games, live on YouTube, Twitch and podcast services around the globe. If you love what we do, support us with the Patreon membership or the Kind of Funny membership on Patreon, which is what I really meant to say. Submit your thoughts and opinions as YouTube super chats. So get those super chats in and Mike will do his best to answer any questions you have about the Call of Duty or I'm sorry about the Battlefield 6 campaign. Only the campaign.
Mike
Tell them what we're doing today, Andy. Let's get real. We're getting excited with our squad.
Andy
We're getting excited for the shooting squad.
Mike
All season is here and we got some big shooting games coming away. Okay. Battlefield 6 this week. Arc Raiders end of the month, Call of Duty, Black Ops 7 next month. We're going to be back together. The boys are back together finally.
Nick
So back in town.
Andy
I need everybody to get strapped in for a little Battlefield 6 campaign review and then we'll hit the ads and then when we come back, we're going to talk about. We're kind of like setting out the schedule for what the Jabroni boys are going to be doing live here. So you're going to like pretty much just sit in on a meeting with us as we talk about.
Nick
This is just a stream team.
Andy
Yeah, it's just a stream team meeting.
Nick
I guess that's gonna happen. Let's do some old business first. I don't like that when you guys make fun of me. The audience can't hear it, but I can hear Barrett laughing.
Andy
Oh, man.
Nick
That's really what I represent the audience,
Mike
you know, because very professional.
Andy
Yeah, yeah.
Mike
You get it. You get it. Yeah.
Nick
No, I just. I just maybe.
Andy
Can I request one thing before we get into it? I want y' all by the end of the episode to predict who dominates the fall. Is it Call of Duty? Is it Battlefield? Because I feel like I'm hearing strong feelings on both sides. I like it. And I want to hear yalls assessment on that. Remember, we're in 11 person business. All about live talk shows. Games Daily Today talked about Ubisoft canceling a post Civil War Assassin's Creed. And after this it'll be a stream. No, wait.
Mike
In review.
Andy
In review.
Nick
We'll do in review.
Andy
We're gonna draw in review Tron Aries.
Nick
Is that live? Yeah.
Andy
The biggest mystery of them all is Nick. I overhear Nick talking yesterday. I take my headphones off and he's laughing. I'm like, what are you all laughing about? He goes, andy, it's because the movie of Tron Aries ended and Tim was like, damn, I didn't like that. And Nick was like, oh, really? Andy was into it and Tim was like, what are you talking about? He kept leaning to me and saying that this sucked. And Nick was like, Andy kept leaning to me and saying, this is awesome. So. So right now, Andy, we don't know whether you like the movie or not, and we don't want to know until the review.
Nick
Yeah, because you left so early to pee and then you did the thing.
Andy
I saw the first post credit and then I bounced. I don't know if that was the second post credit.
Nick
I don't think there was.
Andy
Okay. So I probably. I bounced at the right time.
Nick
You definitely did.
Andy
I watched the first post credit. Yeah, I guess the only one.
Nick
I don't know if there was one.
Andy
I love that you just consistently Irish goodbye at movie.
Mike
No, no. Don't know. Andy, I'm there for you.
Andy
Thank you.
Mike
The movie has ended.
Andy
You.
Mike
He is allowed to leave.
Andy
Thank you, Mike.
Mike
We don't have to hubbub in the lobby for 25 minutes afterwards, Mr. Social,
Andy
looking for any excuse to spend time with any person. This is where you're going to defend
Mike
in the movie theory.
Andy
Let's be brief.
Nick
Heavily. We're going to. We're going to go over all of this in the interview after this. And I can't wait to get into.
Andy
I'll tell you what, that I've never
Nick
been more excited and scared.
Andy
That bathroom line crazy long. And I could tell just. I'm not trying to say that I was generalizing or stereotyping, but I was like, every. All you dudes in line are here for Demon Slayer. There's a look. There's a. There's a look and there's a smell. I'm seeing, you know, just smell like Naruto. Yeah. Excited for. I'm excited for Nick and Tim to find out whether or not I like Tron Aries. But you'll have to wait until after this podcast. Thank you to our Patreon producers, Carl Jacobs, Omega Buster and Delaney the Psalm Twining. Today's if you're kind of funny, remember, today's Greg Way is the solution to indie game guilt. Today we're brought to you by Factor, but we'll tell you all about that later. For now, let's start with the topic of the show. Battlefield6 review.
Nick
Okay.
Andy
There wasn't the same. Like, there wasn't.
Nick
I thought Battlefield was doing what Call of Duty does, where they just. They just like shell for other properties to get into their.
Mike
No.
Andy
Battlefield loves that song. No. So you're thinking I'm doing the Terminator. Terminator thing. No, Battlefield has their own.
Mike
Yeah, it's real good, too.
Andy
There should be a lawsuit there.
Nick
I agree.
Andy
I always thought the same thing. We're talking about the Battlefield 6 campaign that Mike has played.
Mike
Yes, I have completed the Battlefield 6 campaign and we'll set the stage now, of course, Battlefield 6 comes out tomorrow. We, I'm sure me and Andy and probably Nick next week, the week after, we'll come back and talk about our multiplayer thoughts. But Battlefield six campaign only. No Portal, as they said that would come out at launch. So I didn't get to see Portal at all. And the multiplayer, we have to wait until all of you jabronis get out in the real world with it. So we will only be talking about the Battlefield 6 campaign here today during
Andy
my review, because unfortunately, real, real quick. Unfortunately. You know, why didn't you. Why is everybody else reviewing multiplayer? Why didn't you? All Kind of funny, they. Because of just the nature of our jobs and the nature of the review process. EA sets, you know, here's a nine to noon window of when we'll be playing on these maps. Here's a nine to noon window the next day when we're playing on these maps this next day. No multiplayer windows. You just have to, like, not play multiplayer that day. So harder for us to kind of find windows of where we can hop in, especially with kind of how quickly this job moves and how much. How many shows are on and things like that.
Nick
So lots of games.
Andy
We just didn't really have a whole lot of time to hop into these. What did you say? I said a lot of our job and content is morning.
Nick
Pretty morning heavy.
Andy
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Nick
When it comes to that stuff.
Andy
So not a whole lot of opportunities for us to hop into those multiplayer windows. Nick, you wanted to say something?
Nick
No, I was going to say it's. It's fine, though, because when I think of Battlefield, I think the campaign.
Andy
Of course. Yeah.
Nick
Normally they come for specifically Call of Duty as well. I think I've played approximately five minutes of every Call of Duty we'll debate.
Andy
Battlefield 2042.
Mike
No campaign.
Andy
No campaign.
Mike
No. It's the first time we've had a modern setting campaign in a battlefield in a long, long time.
Andy
I'm so.
Mike
Mike played hardline.
Andy
I believe Mike played all of it. I played about an hour. I'm going to do a quick little review roundup from Open Critic. Hard to kind of put numbers on it because a lot of people's reviews are the whole. The total package.
Nick
Sure.
Andy
It's Single player and multiplayer are what a lot of people's reviews are. But I will say that our friend, a good friend of our Simon Cardi, gave the campaign a 5 out of 10. Just the campaign that's not good, who said a safe, dull reimagining of what Battlefield once was rather a bold A safe, dull reimagining of what Battlefield once was rather a bold reinvention of what it could be. 5 out of 10 from Simon Cardi. And then I have a couple of other blurbs from other people's reviews who were giving the whole game the total packages score, but they have little blurbs about just the campaign. We have Reed McCarter from Kotaku who says Battlefield 6's campaign is too unevenly executed to make its vision as compelling as it ought to be, but it still works well enough to inflect the entire game with a healthy cynicism unusual for the genre. And then a good friend of ours, Jordan Midler from vgc, gave the whole package of four out of five for multiplayer on campaign, but says that the single player is fine but bland. And that's kind of what I'm seeing across the industry. Snowbike Mike, do you agree with a lot of the industry's assessment on the Battlefield 6 campaign?
Mike
I am totally in agreement with everyone across the board here. It is unfortunately not the best of times. It is not a super wow factor campaign. It is just a middle of the road, okay, mediocre, fine campaign. There are some moments in the campaign that have the wow, the sauce, the moments that go, oh man, we're cooking here, this is exciting. And then out of the nine total missions, a lot of them are a bore. And there's just moments where they kind of step up as if they're going to do something exciting and different and they don't. They kind of miss the mark there. And so unfortunately for me, when I think about the Battlefield six campaign, about five hours, nine total missions, I give it about a five to six on the kind of funny range that's that Mediocre two Ark range for us. This is something I enjoyed playing at five hours, but this is something that I think the mass audience will not gravitate towards. As we know, Battlefield, the multiplayer is going to be the big one. This kind of an old standard of first person shooters to have the three prong attack or really the campaign with the multiplayer now we've kind of moved away from that of being like, hey, if the multiplayer works, just focus on that and make it work. The campaigns Unless you do something out of the box and different. Right. To reinvent yourself like we saw with Call of Duty over the past couple of years where they really have tried to double down on the campaign and make it worth your while. This one, unfortunately, is none of that. And so, yeah, for me, the battlefield is just right down the middle. And Andy, I want to hear about your first hour before I dive a little bit deeper.
Andy
Sure. Than real quick. What did you play on what platform?
Mike
PC for me.
Andy
PC. And you said about five hours to beat the game.
Mike
I would say this would take you about five to six hours, depending on. If you go super difficult, you might go a little bit longer. If you go on the easy mode, it might take you a little bit shorter. But it's nine missions. They range about 15 to 30 minutes. A lot of these missions are very short. They're fast and they're over with before something really awesome of sustenance can happen. And then there's a couple where they try. Think Modern Warfare 3 where they really opened it up and it's more of like a Battlefield 6 multiplayer that you would see. It's like, hey, here's three spots on the map. Attacking however you want. Do X, Y and Z in the fun playground. They did that once or twice. They also had a really long tank mission. We'll talk about that later. That was just about that.
Nick
Right now.
Mike
That was a snoop fest.
Andy
Nick, can you hold my hand right now?
Mike
Sure.
Andy
Now here's what I'm doing. Biggest question for Snowback Mike, did you play on controller or keyboard?
Commercial Announcer
Mouse spring is here and there's a whole new way to chai at Starbucks that's made perfect for you. Choose your sweetness. Dial it up or keep things light. Add a touch of pistachio, a hint of strawberry or vanilla. Or make it a spring classic with lavender. Because this season there's endless ways to chai at Starbucks.
Mike
I played on keyboard and mouse.
Nick
Wow, we got him.
Mike
Wow, we got him. Went deep on the convert.
Andy
Now, now. Okay. I'm not trying to take.
Nick
We almost got Barrett on keyboard mouse the other day too. It's crazy.
Andy
I'm not. Not almost got me before. I was like I was forced to because the controller would.
Nick
Because Call of Duty can't let you switch between.
Andy
You have to get true. That is true. If anything, it unsold me on.
Nick
Yeah, it really, really is bad.
Andy
Really bad. I don't want to take credit for Mike's journey into keyboard mouse, but I will. Is the 360 rule working for you?
Mike
Mike, the 360 rule here at the house is working very well, right? You look at your mouse pad, you set your dpi, you set your mouse sensitivity in game to the correct DPI and scale. So when I go across my mouse pad, I do a full 360.
Andy
Full 360.
Mike
Now, here at work, Kevin's got that wire. We're on a leash. I'm not allowed to move that mouse.
Nick
You don't want too much mobility in your mouth.
Andy
You don't want the mouse to escape.
Nick
You know why?
Andy
Whatever.
Mike
It runs away.
Andy
Your pet mouse, it is so tight on there. But, yeah, I am glad that you're, you know, you're. You're using those practices a bit more because a lot of the time I would tell, you know, my try keyboard mouse, and it doesn't work. But the 360 rule is kind of being applied across the board. It's becoming more habitual, and I think it could help out a lot of people who want to journey into the keyboard mouse world.
Mike
For me to get the keyboard mouse to work, the rule here at work, I have to move my mouse pad diagonal and get my mouse all the way up to the top corner of my desk. And you would think, like, oh, that's what the Valerin pros do. But they move their keyboard up forward. No, it's mine with the mouse.
Andy
Gotcha. Gotcha.
Nick
We could probably figure out some sort of longer cable for that.
Mike
Yeah, we'll figure it out. You know what I mean? We'll get.
Nick
What I will say is this, Andy, you have changed him. We are slowly but surely changing Mike. You know, he is like an old, old, old, old, old animal. Right. It's hard to train him.
Andy
Yeah.
Nick
He doesn't want to learn any new tricks.
Andy
No.
Nick
He just wants to pee and poop himself sometimes.
Andy
Yeah.
Mike
No, Dr. No.
Nick
But I will say, the other day, we were playing Call of Duty. We're playing multiplayer, and we were just comparing stats. See, we see what kd, little kd. See what everyone's KD ratios are, right. And, you know, Mike's playing on. On mouse and keyboard. I'm playing on mouse keyboard. Roger's playing on whatever device gen zers play on.
Andy
Yeah.
Nick
And I had nine out of 10 times. It couldn't beat me. It couldn't beat me.
Andy
Wow.
Nick
Not saying much, though. We were all still below one.
Andy
Everybody's getting there.
Mike
Yeah. It wasn't good.
Nick
But I will say, once you told me, you were like, look, stop cranking your field of view up to 190. Let's start there. Don't do 120 field of view.
Mike
Get a little tighter.
Nick
Do what the pros do. 90 to 100.
Andy
Yeah.
Nick
Do the 360 rule. And then someone in the chat was like, nick, I'm watching you play. You. You've given me this feedback. Well, just slow it down a little bit.
Andy
Slow it down.
Nick
Slow it down a little bit. You don't always have to be the guy out front.
Andy
You don't got to be sprinting everywhere.
Nick
And it's good advice.
Andy
Sometimes you let the game come to you.
Nick
Yeah, that's what.
Andy
That's what the great quarter.
Nick
I don't even sprint anymore now. I just do a flow off. I just hit H and it walks forward for me.
Andy
Mike, you wanted to know what my first are with.
Mike
Yeah, I'd love to talk about it with you, because I want to. I want to go a little deeper on the campaign.
Andy
So I played at least two missions, and I thought it started off very strong and then kind of started immediately seeing where the repetition could be. Now, granted, the second sort of mission, very sniper heavy. Enjoyed that. But it became a shooting gallery and kind of very predictable. Some cool moments with low lighting in some spots that were exciting. But I found myself saying throughout those first two missions, all right, I really. This is like. This is good so far. I would say I'm really hoping that we see a cool turn not into the paranormal, supernatural stuff that Call of Duty's been doing recently. But I want to see the cool turn where in the last Call of Duty campaign, which was freaking fantastic, if you're. If you're wondering, should I play the battlefield campaign? Play the call of duty 1. If you haven't played that from last
Mike
year, it's really good.
Andy
But the, you know, suddenly you have a, you know, Call of Duty. It's a Call of Duty campaign, Nick. But then suddenly, there's a very Ocean's Eleven inspired heist mission where you are undercover in a casino with all your different operatives, and you're listening to people in the headset without trying to kind of blow your cover. Then you hear, like, all right, the back door should be open now. And you make your way, and it's, like, so cool and directed. And Call of Duty always amazes with short little bursts of cool creativity. And how do we break up the monotony of just. Shooting gallery in a room. Shooting gallery in a room. I was really hoping to see something like that, Mike, but it sounds like maybe that never happens.
Mike
Yeah, it's an interesting one. Andy. Right, because you start thinking of, like, where we're at with the first person shooter campaigns. You think of Battlefield, right? What is Battlefield? It is all out warfare, total destruction, absolute mayhem. 64 on 64 large scale battles, right? And so now how do you capture what that is while meeting a single player campaign, which is, hey, we're a squad of four, dagger one through three, dagger 13. And this squad, how do we get to know them?
Andy
I want to be called Dagger.
Nick
It's so Top Gun Maverick.
Mike
So Top Gun Maverick vibes here. There's some moments where you're like, okay, like we're going somewhere that could be good. And there's moments when we think of other campaigns. I bring up Call of Duty, Modern Warfare with Clean House, which is the we're going dark one by one, clearing rooms that everybody talked about a couple years ago, right? And there's a moment where you go to Cairo and we go dark and you're thinking, oh man, I'm getting goosebumps. Like, this could be a really good tone setter. Especially because the first two missions, as you say, Andy, kind of bring you this really awesome moment of like, mission one, everything goes to shit. Mission two, you're having this awesome cinematic moment to set the stage for this new character, Gekko, who's the sniper. And she's nasty, right?
Nick
And then she's a bad dope ass name for a sniper.
Mike
We'll talk about the cinematics. Cinematics, very good. Yeah, cinematics were like, oh, we're getting up to call, dude. The level of like, this looks good. I like what you're doing here, but we go to Cairo, lights off, let's get through the streets, let's go find the high value target, right? What is Battlefield, Nick? That I just said.
Nick
What's that, Mike?
Mike
All out, total destruction warfare. So 90 seconds into what should be a really cool, heart pounding stealth, high tension mission, me and the NPCs, we're firing at red barrels. Buildings are falling down in the darkness. There is no stealth, there's no tension.
Nick
That's my kind of game all out. Maybe I'd like this.
Mike
And so that is the give and take that you have with this Battlefield 6 campaign that I think the team struggled to find the perfect mix of. Because when I think of Battlefield, I want that. I want all these vehicles. I want to ride in the tank, I want to ride in the amphibian SUV that goes in the water onto land. I want to jet pilot a plane, right? And so they have to find this balance between the Two. And it just never works out to a really fun, tight nine missions.
Nick
That's a bummer. That's a bummer, man.
Andy
I will say, though, that again, I think it's. It's sad to hear that it doesn't quite keep the same quality from the first mission or two, because again, it starts off so strong, Nick. And if anything, I would say it's worth playing at least the first or two. First one or two missions. Because that. When that title card hits when, like, when everything goes to. And then it's just. And like. And you're just like, this is the production that I want. This is something that's getting me excited for this adventure. Now on the flip side, five hours, six hours, what I'm kind of getting from the how long to beat.
Mike
That's not bad.
Andy
That's pretty decent.
Mike
That is not bad.
Nick
That's an ideal campaign. Yes.
Mike
Like this for me, as the campaigns are usually used to tutorialize the video game to help newcomers come on of like, hey, here's the buttons. Here's the different equipment that you'll use. And there's some really cool moments where you use some different equipment that we haven't seen in the betas yet that I don't know if they'll be in multiplayer. Right. There is a bomb drone that you will send up. It's just like your RC car and Call of Duty, but this one's a little helicopter drone and you fly it around, you can ascend, you can descend, but you're dropping bombs from the bottom of it as you fly over. That was cool. There's also another one. I forget the name, but it looks like a mortar. The guy puts it down and you grab behind it, and you are now actively flying like remote control bombs in the air, like torpedoes and at different, you know, enemy vehicles coming in. And that was like, cool moments. Other than that, you didn't get to use the ladder. Right. I used a sledgehammer once. It wasn't that all exciting. And so it was just weird mix of. There was teases of cool equipment and then absolutely no equipment at all to make anything exciting. But gunplay, man. Yeah, gunplay is tight. Gunplay is good. The. The cinematics team really did a good job. These characters look good. This Gecko character giving kind of like Rhea Ripley vibes with the short dark hair. Totally a badass sniper. She was fun to watch. Main character kind of looks like Shadur Sanders. He was all right, you know. And then we get introduced to their ghost. This badass. What's his name. Really quick, let me bring it up. This badass named Hemlock, he's got the awesome ghost full on helmet and he's the ultimate badass of like I don't ask questions, I just murder people. And you're like all right,
Andy
exactly. Just like I do want to ask about freedom in the game. Not like, you know, not the American like freedom because we're all, we're all very free here.
Nick
Yeah, but country on the planet or else. Or else
Andy
I got rid of free speech.
Mike
We don't need it.
Andy
You mentioned some of the levels kind of reminding you of the Modern Warfare 3 campaign where some of the levels get a bit open ended and kind of attack this how you want one
Mike
level will be that.
Nick
Would you?
Andy
Yeah. Did you see a whole lot of opportunities for all right, this is free in a sense, but I can kind of see the seams of where it's like, all right, it's really just two decisions. Enter here or enter here.
Mike
No, no, this was just a wide open play zone like a multiplayer map that has three anti air missile launchers that you need to go blow up. And so really you're going to go 1, 2 and then 3 with how the map is laid out. But they have a area where the enemy has reinforcements hanging out in like a small town and then the AA spot that are kind of split into two.
Andy
Gotcha.
Mike
So you can go to one, kill all the infantry backup and then go to the AA launcher and take that out. Or you can just call cause all out warfare drive right in there with your car, jump out the whip, blow up the AA unit. They're like oh my God, the alarm's going off. More people come.
Nick
Right.
Mike
But there was this moment of man where is the planes flying overhead. And of course we're shooting down the AA so there's no planes. But like there's no like really wow factor to it. It's just me and four or three AI units. We run up to them one's, I mean the bases are touching each other and I'm sniping the reinforcements. The base, the main base, they don't hear any of this mayhem. As I'm dropping bombs, people are screaming really good headphones. It's like none of this matters.
Andy
Right.
Mike
And so by number two you're going to get bored and just go straight to the objective. Fight that. And then number three. And so it wasn't really this awesome freedom moment of like here's a giant kind of like Call of Duty, the recent one they had One with a giant map. If you remember on the last campaign where it's like, oh, you really can go to whichever one you want. This. There's a flow to this.
Andy
Okay.
Mike
And so that was the one only giant open mission. The rest are exactly what you think. Linear. Go from point A, hold down a spot, point B, shoot a bunch of people in a small tunnel, then go to the end, hold out for your evac. That's the mission.
Andy
Not trying to spoil anything, but are there other characters to control later on,
Mike
you jump around different perspectives from your squad. Okay, you are Murphy, pretty much through and through, but you'll have a couple missions where you'll become Gecko. There's a mission where you will become another character outside of the squad that you met earlier. But really, you are Dagger 1 3, and you are focusing on those four characters, learning about them, learning about their past. Not super far in the past. It's very much of like, hey, this is what happened six to eight months ago to get us where we're at as we fight off Pax Armada, the pmc, the private military group that maybe has ties to the inside. Maybe the White House is helping them. NATO does the president, Georgia, what's happening here? And so, yeah, you'll. You'll start to unravel that. But there's these really cool moments in the cinematics. We're like, man, this is badass. Right? We get into this house, it's all dark. They're. They're in here, they're questioning this person, and they want to know what's going on. Is it all the way to the top? And then we'll. We'll go, well, you remember what happened in Georgia. And then you'll zoom back out to the other mission and we'll play through that to kind of get the backstory of what's going on there.
Andy
Heck, yeah. I have a super chat here from Ian Aeronauf. Five dollar super chat says paying another birthday tax. I turned 33 today. Thanks for always being my daily form of news and entertainment. Thank you, Ian. Happy birthday, bro. Hope you have a lovely one. Hope you're gonna spend the weekend playing lots of fun games. Remember, get your super chats in for a snowbike Mike. Ask him any questions about Battlefield 6.
Nick
Do you think it's worth me playing this? You know, you think I would enjoy this at all?
Mike
I thought you would, but I. As I played, I think this.
Nick
I think I played maybe an hour of the Call of Duty. Last Call of Duty campaign. I think I got to that level you were talking about, I was like, this is pretty cool. And I don't think I ever went beyond that.
Mike
There is three missions that I wish I could show people. Other than that, the other six, I don't think you would enjoy at all. I don't think you would enjoy this package, especially at five hours. This is not what Battlefield 6 wants you to see and participate in. I think this is just.
Nick
This feels more like an afterthought.
Mike
Yeah, this is the old school thinking, we got to have a campaign. I do wish at the end, I think the final two missions, things start to ramp up where I'm like, oh, I think you could have kept going and given me more, but you just didn't have it there for the first seven out of that. So there's probably. Are they three missions that I would want to show you that had really cool moments in it?
Andy
Are they broken up into nine? Are they doing, like, the andor thing? Because of, like, the first three are one act, the second three or another,
Mike
I wouldn't call it like, they're just
Andy
kind of just nine.
Mike
I mean, it's clearly the moments, right? You beat the. You find out who the villain is, you meet the villain, the villain got one over on you. Now you gotta rally the squad and go get him, you know? So that's how that story goes for sure.
Andy
Okay. Very, very cool. Remember to get your super chats in gamers and we will ask Mike about the Call of Duty or the Battlefield 6 campaign. I'm just gonna keep on saying that. I'm gonna keep saying Call of Duty. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Battlefields.
Nick
Cool.
Andy
I, I think we've kind of gotten what I need out of this. I, I, I kind of immediately got the vibe that I'm gonna wait for reviews. That was my initial thought. I played an hour and a half of it or whatever and was like, this was cool. This, you know, got really neat. And if, if we keep this level of quality, then I might be in, but if we keep this level of repetition, then maybe I fall off and maybe I wait for people to see. Oh, but, man, the, the second half of it gets really, really crazy. And to hear that it's a bit more middling, kind of kind of bums me out, unfortunately.
Nick
Sounds lackluster.
Andy
Uncle Death says, how much is Limp Bizkit in the campaign?
Nick
That's going to really be the deciding factor for me. Because if it's just 100,limp bizkit. I'm playing that tonight.
Mike
He's the end credits because I was watching the end credits because I wanted to know who did the voice acting for Dagger 1 through 3. Because I liked all those characters. Really. I liked Gecko a lot. I'd like to see more Fred Durst. But all of a sudden Limp Biscuit came on and I started thinking about you two.
Nick
Yeah. Like, is this because you know me?
Mike
I don't know Limp Biscuit that well. Well. And I was like, oh, I think this is him.
Nick
You don't. You don't have to know. Limis a whole group of human beings. Yeah.
Andy
I didn't know he was L. Biscuit. I'm not familiar with Mr. Biscuit's movie.
Nick
It's like my favorite band, Kid Rock.
Andy
I wasn't aware of that, man. We have a 10 super chat from Jenny Send. Nuggie says hi gamers, nuggies here. Number one cop streamer on Twitch. I love the Blops Camp Blop 6 campaign. It was my first ever. This is my first battlefield campaign. Can you see newbies like me still having a good time solo 100 I
Mike
think this is what that is for. For if you were a first timer in the battlefield. I think this will give you a great tutorial, slash a nice onboarding onto everything. Right. Because you will get in the tank. You will pilot a couple of the vehicles. So you start to learn about that. You'll have a good time with the destruction instead of jumping directly into multiplayer where maybe you have a tough time, it's going a little overwhelming. This is a good five hours of learning, growing or just giving you a little ease of like, hey, let me jump over to this. Take some time away from multiplayer, then come back.
Nick
Smalls HD in the live chat says, hi, I'm Limp. Limp Bizkit.
Andy
My name is Limpium. We will get into the rest of our fall for the.
Mike
Yeah.
Andy
For the. For the Jabroni boys. For the shooters.
Nick
Yeah.
Andy
I can't wait to get into it. Talk about a lot more first person shooters, third person shooters. But we'll have to hear that after a word from our sponsors.
Mike
This episode's brought to you by Factor.

Andy
I I'm prepared to become the best medic of all time.
Mike
Let's okay, really quick on the campaign. A fun one for you is they clearly use the classes and it's great of if you go down during the campaign, someone will come and hit you
Andy
with the oh, I got plenty.
Mike
The little res pack. They give you three. They're like he gives you two and then he's on the third one. He's like this is your last one and that's a fun little mechan.
Nick
We're out of ice packs.
Mike
If you need more of those little throw the ammo pack at you at all times. So like that was fun. That was very battlefield moments.
Andy
I I can't wait to become a medic.
Mike
Let's get real. Okay, we have a big fall coming up, boys. Three big games that are tailor made for us. Kicking off with Battlefield.
Nick
Okay, the real question.
Mike
It's time for us to squad.
Nick
The question is this. I agree with you, Mike and I'm sorry to have to interrupt.
Mike
Yeah, it's all right.
Nick
I think you were really trying to hype us up there but we do have a couple bones to pick here.
Mike
Oh, okay.
Nick
Because you know, you hit me up. You say, nick, you wanna, you wanna fly? You wanna ride today? I said, of course. The Gibroni boys ride again. You say Andy can't make it. We were playing cod. We filled with Roger.
Mike
Yeah.
Nick
No disrespect to Roger. He's no Andy, but he's not you. He's not putting up numbers.
Mike
I'm well aware he didn't prove him wrong.
Nick
He don't got your stamina. Yeah, he played for 15 minutes and he had to go take a little.
Mike
That was crazy.
Nick
I think left us by ourselves.
Andy
He definitely was on that stream for an hour and had to do production stuff afterwards.
Nick
Took a little went over there. Greg's hell that Greg's got.
Mike
Oh, he's damp off the sweat, he didn't have it.
Nick
Greg's got that little doggy bed by his bed. Roger just curled up in that thing
Andy
that
Nick
had to step in. Barrett, it turns out, has been a Call of Duty player since, like, birth and never told me that because, quote, I don't want you guys to pick on me. What did we do? We proceeded to pick on him the entire time. My question is, Andy, what are you excited about? Because when the three of us fly, we make magic. Are you into. Are you gonna roll with us? In some. In some. In the new map and Warzone and the new Call of Duty?
Andy
Well, first, let's get to Battlefield, because
Mike
Battlefield, because that's number one, I want to list.
Andy
I want to become a. I want to get good at being a medic. I was watching gameplay of people running around and resin seven people per second. It felt like, you know, you're trying to keep your res stats up. It seemed like a fun way to play the video game because otherwise the core gameplay and the core loop for Battlefield 6 has never interested me.
Nick
No, me neither.
Andy
However, the Battle Royale, whenever that happens, do we know when that's happening?
Nick
You guys played any of that yet?
Mike
No, we have not played that. Seen that. We have no word on that yet. I think that's going to be a couple months out here.
Andy
Whenever that happens, that's where I am fully, fully into wanting to play Battlefield 6. Until then, it's. It's the weekend. It's like, yeah, I'll play it over the weekend.
Nick
Sure.
Andy
I'll have fun with y'. All. Okay. But I'm not in any way going to be, you know, super into leveling up stuff unless I get really into being a medic. Unless I'm starting to res people left and right.
Nick
Do you think they keep those classes, though, for the Battle Royale? They can't. Right? They're not going to keep the classes for that.
Andy
Right. I don't know. Mike, do you remember at what.
Mike
That's a great question.
Andy
What was it called? Firestorm, Ring of Fire. Ring of Fire.
Mike
I think it was Firestorm, though. Do they keep the classes? You know, maybe you have a med pack for somebody, stuff like that.
Nick
It's a question. I mean, maybe Perks, Call of Duty.
Mike
I don't know how you sort of play that out. Question.
Nick
Because that would be interesting. That would be a really interesting dynamic if you're like, hey, you could play as these three different classes in a Battle Royale. We haven't really seen that.
Andy
Right.
Nick
This episode is brought to you by White Claw Search. Great podcast pick friend. No surprises there. After all, you're all about finding the
Andy
tastiest flavors out there, just like White Claw Surge.
Commercial Announcer
And with big, bold flavors to enjoy, like blood orange, BlackBerry, cranberry, and more.
Andy
It's time to go all in on taste.
Nick
Unleash the flavor. Unleash White Claw Surge. Please drink responsibly.
Commercial Announcer
Hard seltzer with flavors.
Nick
8% alcohol by volume.
Commercial Announcer
White Claw Seltzer Works, Chicago, Illinois.
Mike
No, usually you just generic soldier 42.
Nick
Yeah, usually you just. You have kind of your mini perks. That's pretty much it. Better thing like Apex. You didn't really have classes, right?
Andy
Well, you have your heroes, I guess
Nick
you have your hero. So you do. You do sort of have classes.
Andy
The heroes were in classes. Yeah, they had like a healing support class or whatever. Yeah.
Nick
Okay, so maybe they do keep that.
Mike
See, it's interesting. You want to be a medic during the campaign. I've changed.
Andy
Mainly because I was so dog.
Mike
I'm dropping the medicine. We're becoming anti tank boys. I'm going full rocket launcher final. If there's a vehicle somewhere there, you call on me, I'm destroyed.
Andy
I like it.
Nick
The problem with Andy's is always so pro tank and we're always anti. Like, this is really the problem. This is the divide and kind of funny.
Andy
Yeah.
Mike
I'm going full engineer. I'm out there. Rocket launcher. Anything you need taken down, I'm taking it down. Okay. That's my goal.
Andy
Because, like, I. I know I'm a. I know I'm a shooter. I know I have.
Mike
It's surprising. I don't want to be a recon and be snipers.
Andy
I know.
Mike
Well, I just.
Andy
I know I got some skills to pay the bills. I just. I just can't hang. I don't got it like, like everybody else does. So it's like, how can I have fun in this game? What. What could. What sort of meta objectives could I chase that would make me feel fulfilled?
Nick
What's gonna bring you back? Yeah.
Andy
And what are you investing and there. And I would love to just try to, like.
Nick
All right.
Andy
I had, you know, 32 resurrections of bodies the last time.
Mike
So you're imagining that SMG with the. With the Res back, and you're just running, running. Okay.
Andy
I see people needing help. I want to be the guy that people on Tick Tock are talking about. Like, there's this. I want to be. Let me solo her. The Elden Ring player who was like, hey, I want to fight Millennia Summon me to your fight. Let me solo her. I'll fight her for you. I want to be the. There's this legend out there who's healing everybody. This guy has. He's a ghost.
Nick
This guy's an angel.
Andy
He may be a legend. I don't even know if he's real,
Nick
you know, like, that's amazing.
Andy
Maybe a figment of my imagination.
Nick
They just look at you. You don't even have a gun. Yeah, you just have med kits everywhere.
Andy
Like, I'm down on the ground and they just see me floating from, like, the ceiling.
Mike
They're like, oh, my God.
Andy
Yeah, exactly. I want to be that legend on the field because it feels like I. I want to find a reason to get into this game and to play, and I want to find a reason to get into this mode because it's never worked for me.
Mike
You're known as the nitro rifle, though. You don't want to click heads, don't snipe.
Andy
I do. I just don't got it like that.
Mike
Like, there was so many tick tock clips of, like, that girl from C9 who was just clicking heads. Remember her? She was killing the game. You don't want to be that. You want to be the shroud 80 yards off in the distance.
Andy
I don't mind being the shot if I'm playing against everybody. That's like, you all, you know, what does that mean? You know, really hard work and dedicated
Mike
people who watched the 9 to 5.
Nick
Yes.
Mike
They don't have much time to invest
Nick
the people who suck at the game.
Andy
That's what you're trying to say. Like, I don't mind, you know, trying to be the shooter when I'm amongst people that I am equally skilled with.
Nick
Sure.
Andy
But I know that's not reality. I know I'm gonna get my teeth kicked in every time. Like, I also just don't understand the rhythm yet. That's another thing about it. I didn't have a whole lot of time with the beta and the rhythm of it. Mike just, I was dancing to a different tempo.
Mike
I mean, I was watching everybody else
Andy
dance on the floor, and I'm like, I am on a 3, 4 tempo. I'm in a swing tempo, and you all are on a disco dance. Be like, I. I was dying all the time, and I just never, ever found momentum in what I was doing. And I know that's all my fault. I'm not blaming the game for that.
Mike
We're talking about breakthrough, conquest, escalation, domination, King of the hill, rush squad. Death match. Team Death match. I mean, the marquee game modes are not our game mode. We're battle royale boys. We are where we like to be.
Nick
We are.
Mike
Right. But now we have to break that habit and become part of the team, part of a unit, and start to buy into breakthrough conquest where it is. Hey, squad of four, how do we help this team of 32? How are we contributing to the battlefield? Moving from point A to B, Taking over points, Maybe getting pushed off a point, Resetting. Maybe finding a point that's weak further in the distance, getting in a Humvee, driving over to it. Right. Like, it's. How do we break this cycle of. We just drop in and shoot, you know, that's what we do.
Andy
My biggest problem with it, Nick, is. And you suffer from this as well, the adhd.
Nick
Severe adhd.
Andy
Yeah. It doesn't allow me to see the macro.
Nick
Well, okay, so I'm going to disagree with you.
Andy
I can't fully zoom out and go hero of my objectives. I get so caught up in. I want to chase that one.
Nick
Yes.
Andy
It was killing me.
Nick
I. And I would agree with you, and you're absolutely right. But here's my. Here's my biggest problem with battlefield in general. It just feels like everything immediately gets disjointed because there's no level of leadership that's like coordinating what's going on. So, like, with COD multiplayer, you're. What. What's. What is it?
Mike
6v6 on 6.
Andy
We need Bruce to bully us around, like, last.
Nick
Yes, but. But that's hard to do when you've got that many people on the map. And to Mike's point, like, yeah, it would be cool, but the four of us are. If we're locked in and we're talking but no one else is communicating, then it just feels like chaos.
Mike
Now it's 4 on 28.
Nick
Yeah. Then I just feel like I'm just being ground down by a team that's just sitting up. What?
Mike
It's a sick sweater.
Nick
Thanks, buddy. My little white tiger.
Mike
I'll tell you what, I like that sweater.
Nick
I like on the sweater, but that's. That's the hardest thing for me is where I have the most fun playing these games, when Mike is locked in. You're locked in. I'm trying to be locked in. I'm. We've got a couple people on our squad that are killers, and we're coordinated, and we feel like we're. We're pushing the pace of the game, and I've just never felt that Way with. With Battlefield ever. I always feel we play like, with the exception of when. When Bruce was like, okay, we're going over here, which is cool. But Even then there's four of us and there's 30 other people on the map and who Lord knows what they're doing.
Mike
It'd be sweet.
Nick
It just doesn't feel like there's any rhyme or reason to it.
Mike
One hard to get a groove picked, as in game leader. And when they ping something, all squads see that and know. Or if we were all on like. Like squad leader Mike is the. The head honcho. And then every team has one squad. Me in your headset. And I'm like, all right, squad leaders, we're all going to be. And then they're like, all right, squad, we got to go over to B. Let's go. Captain Mike says it really does.
Nick
It really does need. There needs to be like a general. That's just Overwatch. That's just like telling everyone what to be able to do. That's. That's a great idea.
Mike
Back in COD4, they had that on a Palm Pilot. Do you remember that? You could. Somebody was on there.
Andy
Experience.
Mike
Yeah. And they were clicking on things, calling and stuff.
Andy
That was fun. I'm going to get.
Mike
I.
Nick
Every time this game pops up, every time a new battlefield pops up, I want to play. I want to be. I want it to be fun. I want more of that experience. That is my favorite type of experience in gaming. Getting on with you guys and trying to get kills and being competitive and having you guys dog on me and just really learning the mechanics and feeling that you have a game that you can, for lack of a better term, invest in and get better at and get like. And want to, you know, level up at and level up those guns and get those mods. To me, I love. I would. I would spend hundreds of hours on this. Like we had what we did in Warzone. It's just every time we go, it feels like we get punched in the gut. And then it's just this long, laborious experience. And I'll be honest with you, half the time I'm like, I don't even know if we're doing a dent. Oh, I have no idea who's winning this. And honestly, most of us are all. We're all just losing this at the end of the day because we've just lost three hours.
Mike
The worst. Sometimes when we would get put into games that were halfway through as well and they're really going to try to.
Nick
That's like That's a kick to not
Mike
let that happen anymore.
Nick
That's a kick to the team.
Mike
That is something of, like, when you think of servers and all this jazz and people trying to fill in places, when we get put in, it's like, oh, this game is like three, four over. This sucks. Right? Like, what are we even doing? Because we're waiting for the next game to help.
Nick
I mean, that happens in Call of Duty as well. But it's not. But the games are so much faster. Yeah. You know, there's. The average Call of Duty game is what, five minutes max?
Mike
Yeah. Probably six to 12.
Andy
Yeah.
Nick
Yeah. I mean, like, you're not going too crazy with that, but.
Mike
Yeah.
Nick
Battlefields. There was one map we played. We were just in the. I was like, we. This is our life now. We live in this game. This is like three hours.
Andy
I am. I'm gonna make it my mission to appreciate, to try to do my best to appreciate Battlefield 6. Because I know based on what everybody's been saying, multiplayer wise, that this. This feels like it's back.
Mike
Gameplay, gunplay, sound design. The giant allout warfare that no other game really brings. The finals brought a lot of. Lot of destruction, which was awesome.
Nick
Shout out to the final finals was
Mike
fun, but, like, Battlefield brings something special and they have a lot of great stuff right now in this sauce that I just hope us in particular. The audience I know is excited. It's like, let's just open our hearts.
Andy
Yeah.
Mike
Let's enjoy this. And I think that's the cool part about this conversation is like, guess what? End of the month, we switch completely to arc raiders and we get our extraction on. Then we get a little tighter. We. With the group of three, and we start salvaging metal like broken electronics.
Nick
My. My mind is your mind. I'm locked. And I know you're locked.
Mike
Yeah.
Nick
Okay, but this is always the problem, right?
Mike
There's somebody who's big time.
Nick
How do we get Andy to. Not big time. I was on this.
Mike
How do we get your desk.
Nick
How do we get Andy to commit to playing this game with us 247 for like two weeks straight?
Mike
Exactly. Like, give us one week.
Nick
Give us a week of your life.
Mike
That's all we want.
Nick
Let us come to your house.
Mike
Yeah.
Nick
Let us sleep in your room.
Mike
Let us sleep in your house.
Nick
Let us wear your PJs. We'll cook you some food. We'll pet your dog.
Mike
This could be us.
Nick
I am so excited about this. We had one brief, beautiful moment. We were all really into beautiful. And I'VE never felt more inspired and happy to have friends in my entire life. And then Andy just left the sand bike outside. He didn't give a anymore. I want. I'm so excited for Arc Raiders.
Mike
That is crazy. You left that sandbite. Don't forget that. Okay. That was up. You did that to him. He had to build around it.
Andy
Nick did ask me to get rid of it. I was like, I think it's funnier when you get mad about it.
Nick
I, I, you finally gave me the go ahead. Did I tell you what happened? You finally gave me the go ahead to let it go and I left it outside. Okay. A week goes by, nothing. Two weeks go by, still there. I go to Spain, I come back, it's still there.
Andy
Yeah. I go, it's resilient.
Nick
I get the buggy, I push it out into the middle of the desert and I put a little thomper on it and I get it swallowed by the guy. They have a word worst wallet. But that's what I don't want to have happen in our craters. I want to invest in this game. How do we do this?
Mike
I mean, we, we've done it right? We, we know what we're getting into with Arc Raiders. We're very excited about it. The fun part is, is I think we need to buy in to proximity chat. We as a group have to accept
Nick
that some kids out there and they
Mike
might say some bad, but we can influence the world positively like we did in Call of Duty.
Andy
Yeah, we got so far.
Mike
And then how do we got 98, Andy? We had people laughing.
Nick
They were positive people willing to share their information with us. We, we were homies with these.
Andy
Nice.
Nick
Yeah.
Mike
We almost started exchanging addresses, which there,
Andy
there was one lady who was like, whereabouts are you from? And then Mike ignored that question and then changed the conversation to Battlefield 6.
Nick
Well, you know how sometimes it goes to the loading screen, you lose them for a second.
Andy
All right. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Nick
We did have one kid drop some horrible words. But I see it's my thing is like, look again. I know that I'm crazier than most people this office. And if left to me, this company would probably not exist anymore. Burned to the ground a long time ago. But I will say I think we could, I think we have to turn it on and we just have to tell the audience, look, we're going to shut this shit down as soon as we hear it. But some people are, you know, it's
Mike
kind of part of the game. We're going to then we're going to betray them, Andy. Okay?
Nick
I didn't sign up.
Mike
We're going to get these kids.
Nick
See, this is where he always goes.
Mike
We're going to be friends. I'm going to spit them in the web. Oh, what do you guys look? I need, like, a spider. Look at my buddy Andy. He's going to snipe that robot.
Andy
He's a Masterman Inflator.
Mike
Let's all get together, and let's go attack this one mega robot. And they're gonna be like, yeah, man, that's a great idea. And we'll be six of them. And as they look at that robot, I'm gonna tell you to execute one and kill them. And then it's on. That's the thrill that this Extraction shooter is going to bring to us.
Andy
I think I will.
Nick
I still never forget how. I never forget how much I didn't even know you until we played the cycle together and you just burned that kid.
Mike
That guy wanted that space weed.
Andy
Yeah.
Mike
He just lit that kid up, and
Nick
I was like, oh, that was so mean. That left a lasting traumatic. Impress me.
Andy
I still. I. Well, like, I still just can't forgive Mike for pulling the most Nick Scarpino thing ever.
Nick
Oh, God. Of.
Andy
Of, like, running way the hell out there, pulling the dumbest play ever, and then asking for a res, as if he was easy to get and was like, andy, you better come res me.
Mike
Yeah.
Andy
I'm like, mike, you ran out there like an idiot. You made the worst decision possible. You got shot out there.
Nick
Giant, giant monster. A giant, giant spider robot out there. You just got destroyed.
Andy
I have a lot of stuff, and I can't be risking it out there.
Nick
All right?
Andy
I go get you. Boom. I start getting shot at. Mike.
Mike
God damn it, Mike. I'm sorry. I need you guys to keep me on a tight leash, because my problem, like you guys with Battlefield is, is I start to lose a little bit of interest, right? Because, like, yeah, I'm bored to hear them. Because we need. We need a straight objective. We need to focus on that objective.
Nick
Yes. But I think. I think we got to commit to this, and I think we got to be the guys that are dominating in the space. To me, the excitement of these extraction shooters is not necessarily going up against the NPCs. It's going. It's clashing.
Mike
Do you hear this, Andy? Real people wants the.
Nick
Andy doesn't like we got a clash
Mike
occasion, and he doesn't like clash.
Nick
I don't got a clash.
Andy
I don't mind the Clash. It's just my problem is. Okay. A real conversation.
Mike
Real. Because I know the real.
Andy
This is a real conversation.
Mike
Get real.
Nick
You say it. No, don't sugarcoat it. I know it's about me. I know you're gonna talk about how bad I am.
Andy
The. The Clash.
Mike
Yeah.
Andy
Asking for the Clash. Wanting the violence.
Mike
Yes.
Nick
Yeah.
Andy
But not being able to reciprocate in an equal man.
Nick
Okay.
Mike
Oh, maybe we're not good enough for the class. Yes.
Andy
You always want the violence. And then we die. And then it'.
Nick
And because we don't. And again, we don't clash. You're not wrong, but the more you clash, the better you get at the Clash.
Mike
That's good.
Nick
We can't play the game for two days and then clash with these jabronis that have been playing since birth. Yeah. These guys that I don't even know. You look at some of these average players, like, how long they've been in this game? Like, it hasn't even been out that long. How have you played 900 hours of a game that came out yesterday? How are you so leveled up at this game already? We just got to commit to it. That's what I'm saying.
Mike
That's what I thought.
Nick
This is our new game. We're playing this game.
Mike
Better or worse is we want the Clash. And the problem is, is the moment we hear a gunshot, we drop everything and we go, let's just start running over.
Andy
We have no loot. We have no guns. We have no bullet.
Nick
Why not?
Mike
Right? And it's like, no, no, I understand you.
Andy
Why are you playing it like a battle royale?
Mike
You know what I mean? I understand you want the Clash, but, like, let's loot. Let's get a little bit stronger and better. We'll find them on the second Clash. But, no, me and Nick hear the Clash and we're like, let's get there, right?
Nick
We're like a dog.
Mike
And then there's a turret robot up on some.
Nick
Yeah. That really kind of screwed us up.
Mike
All of a sudden, they got the drop on us because we don't know where we're running to.
Nick
We don't know the map. We don't know the buttons.
Andy
This was one of the few games that I did have a lot of fun just hopping in solo as well. Like, I.
Nick
Well, yeah.
Andy
Like, even off stream, it wasn't just to make content and, like, put stuff up on YouTube. It was like, I want to hop in and, like. And level this up and progress this thing. And had some crazy moments where I'm all alone, and I hear lots of footsteps, and I gonna do down. And I'm terrified. My heart's racing. And then I hear three more people run. And they run by me, and I'm behind a wall, and I shoot them as they don't see me. And, oh, my God, I have all this loot around me, and I'm freaking out. Like, there are so many organic amazing moments. Barrett, can you play the clip that I sent through to assets a little while ago?
Mike
Six.
Nick
Fine.
Andy
Oh, he's gonna die right now. He's gonna die in your arms.
Mike
Don't you walk on me.
Andy
Holy.
Mike
So I have 2% health.
Andy
I start the rest. I'm gonna shot it. Yeah, me too.
Nick
Oh, my God.
Mike
You saved me from your life.
Andy
I went down.
Nick
No. And he just leaves you. Now you're God.
Andy
You're by your serious. Oh, there. We're in between people. Of course. Of course we're in between people.
Nick
Well, I mean, why was. First off. First question, your honor. Why was Mike just out in the middle of an open field?
Mike
Because he got bored. That is what he does.
Nick
You can't get bored.
Mike
You got a lot. I got bored. That's what I said. You got to keep.
Nick
We need to get. We need to get a prescription for Adderall. We all need to take it, and we all just need to lock in what you need to do.
Andy
What you need to do. Okay? Because, look, Mike, people enjoy watching you stream. People enjoy you. You don't have to go all out to like.
Mike
I know it's.
Andy
But in your mind, you go, all right, nothing's happened for three minutes. Let me go in the middle of nowhere.
Mike
I'm ISO Joe. I gotta create.
Andy
Yeah. Like, I'm never. So. Joe was out of the league way
Mike
sooner than he would have been. Watch this.
Andy
He wasn't a team player.
Nick
Mike.
Andy
I'll never forget Joe Johnson reference.
Nick
Let me tell you, Mike. Let me tell you my favorite Mike story in recent. In recent years. Again, this will be the last Dune Awakening reference we have on this because we're not talking about that game. It is a great game. It's my game. It could be my game of the year.
Andy
Wow.
Nick
It could be. I'm gonna get Greg to play it. I started messaging him on Steam last night. Just drop it.
Mike
I'm gonna get Craig to start playing with.
Nick
I'm gonna get Greg to do. I'm gonna get Greg on my side. But Mike dies, of course, because he doesn't use his shields, which is a
Mike
core mechanic of the Game never use the shield.
Nick
One core mechanic of the game is to have a shield that you upgrade and then it saves you from, from, from attacks.
Andy
And then suddenly starts getting shot down and going, help me. Getting angry at us.
Nick
Angry at us.
Andy
He's three, three miles away. Help me.
Nick
And then I'm like, you're not even. We're doing your mission with you to get you up to speed. You're not even here anymore. You've left. And then I tune into his stream and I look over Mike's like, well, I got eaten by the worm. And you know, And I was like, did he? And his chat's like, no, he didn't. They clip it out. He's doing donuts in the middle of the open desert because he wants to die. Yeah, that's what he wants. He got eaten by the worm three times on purpose.
Andy
There's a lot of self sabotage.
Nick
There really is.
Mike
I'm seeking domination. I'm seeking a leader.
Nick
You are the leader. You're the leader.
Mike
I'm seeking a leader on top of the leader.
Nick
Okay, then I'll be your leader. I'm going to be the arc raider leader. I'm into this.
Andy
All right, so after Arc Raiders, let's
Mike
talk about Call of Duty. Call of Duty just got done with a week long beta. I came back from college.
Andy
I didn't play a single second.
Mike
I cannot believe you didn't play.
Andy
I'll tell you what, it was such a big file, dude. And that night that you all were playing, I was. And look, first off.
Mike
Okay, let's Talk about it.
Andy
BattleNet Battle Net sucks. Why does it feel like I'm downloading on 56K? AOL 4.0 optimized.
Nick
What is, what's weird to me is you get on battle.net, you get on the launcher, you go, this looks like a really nice, crisp, modern launcher. You go to Steam. It looks like something made in 1985. And Steam downloads like that.
Mike
Dude, that Steam is the greatest. Can we just say, why are we on battlenet?
Nick
Why didn't we get the code?
Andy
Mike is like, I got a code for you.
Nick
I was like, oh, cool.
Andy
Thanks, dude. Type in the, put the code into BattleNet, hit download. About 38 minutes later, I'm like, all right, man. It's. I'm at 28. I gotta. I'm gonna like drop out of the discord. Maybe that'll speed things up. And I know you can go to Battle Net and say, do unlimited speed, upload down. It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter. It doesn't help.
Mike
Every single person in the discord said, he's never coming back.
Andy
It was a 28. I turn off my PC, I was like, it. It's not worth it, dude.
Nick
There's nothing hits harder than a Call of Duty update. And by hits, I mean hits you in the gut. When you're ready to play that game and you look at it, says, update pending. You're like, I'm done. This is gonna take all fucking night. It's 100 gigs for shaders. What even is a shader?
Mike
They did it again to us.
Andy
They did.
Nick
Of course.
Mike
You download the beta.
Nick
Download the beta.
Mike
You click on it. You click on it. Update requires restart. Yeah, of course you restart it. You turn it on. We gotta turn it off.
Nick
My favorite. Turn it off.
Mike
The crash the game. Turn it back on. What is going on here?
Nick
My favorite is that they still. For whatever reason, and I'm sure it has a very good reason reason. But, you know, Call of Duty has a lot of game modes. Yeah, there's a lot. You know, you got your battle royale, you've got your zombies, you've got your. You've got your classic.
Andy
You're walking into a buffet.
Nick
You've got a lot of things. So they have a launcher.
Mike
We're making a launch right now.
Nick
You've got a launcher in Battle Net that launches a launcher, and the launcher launches another game that then quits both games. And then you have to load the Shaders, and then once the shaders are done loading, update requires reset.
Mike
I'm trying to explain to Roger. You can't.
Nick
I want to die.
Mike
You gotta let the. You got to let the shaders download. He goes, oh, I didn't know that's how it worked. Like, that's how it works.
Andy
Yeah. Has he never played a PC game before?
Nick
No, but Call of Duty is especially egregious when it comes to that, for whatever reason. Like, I would just really like it if one time I fired up that game and it just let me play the game.
Mike
But let's talk about it.
Nick
But let's talk about it. It's back.
Mike
Really?
Nick
Oh, my God, it was so fun. As though Barrett and I are best friends now.
Andy
Because he plays Call of Duty.
Nick
He's in the squad now. We got four. We had. We had Arachnid Said Nuggies was in the squad with us. We had our guy Cam.
Andy
Barrett's viciously nodding his head.
Nick
No, Barrett's our homie now.
Mike
He was in bro Then he just. He's unfortunately now stuck to play with us. That's right.
Nick
Yeah, dude.
Andy
It was a mode that we were supposed to destroy. That was fun.
Nick
So it's the best mode. It's the best mode. We were great. Now, question for you, Andy. Actually, I'll give you a multiple choice as to how the last couple games went. First we get into search of the story. We're having fun. Cam interactive is doing a lot of the heavy lifting.
Mike
A lot of heavy lifting.
Nick
Me and Mike holding our own. Barrett. Very, very good. Jenny joined us later. Last couple games, though, Demons. The six of us against demons. The actual devil hitting the face.
Mike
Yells above Eclipse.
Nick
And I look and I've never.
Mike
Andy.
Nick
I've never seen this before. I go, oh, Mike, that's crazy. That guy just jumped and turned in the air. And Mike goes, oh, Nick, you're about to make the highlight reel because these guys are trying to360, no scope off
Andy
the walls, just off the wall jump.
Nick
They're.
Mike
They don't care.
Nick
They don't give a shit. They know beyond a shadow of a doubt that they're going to win this game. And I've never felt more demoralized, angry, and I'll be honest, radicalized.
Andy
Yeah.
Nick
I am a radicalized human being. It was so fun.
Mike
It's been the nine to five.
Nick
So fun.
Mike
Versus the Sweats. It always has been the Sweat, right? Like the nine to five. And they just want to relax. They want to play and enjoy their game, but they don't get that. And then they've been radicalized to say, I'm coming after that kid. Okay? That fucking no job, living in his mom and dad's basement. Streamer, I'm coming after you. And then it becomes a battle.
Nick
Mike screaming at the other team, you're going to be my friend. I'm going to make you my friend.
Andy
These guys on open mic.
Mike
Yeah, Open mic. Oh, yeah.
Nick
Just screaming at these guys that he
Andy
wants to be their best friends. You can't force people to be your friend. Oh, he did. He got a couple of them. He beat a couple of them over with his father. What happened to that one guy in the kid. What happened to that one guy?
Mike
What was that guy? Beef Hammer or something like that?
Andy
What was it?
Mike
Yeah, it was something like that.
Andy
That was fun.
Mike
Fart box. Fart box.
Nick
You're gonna be my friend.
Mike
Oh, man.
Nick
Oh, my God.
Andy
And so at one point, they were doing the. What was it? The. The wasab.
Mike
Oh, is that Back? Back. We were bringing it back.
Nick
I don't think it ever left that particular city that these kids are playing
Mike
before he started throwing racial slurs at
Nick
us a couple hard.
Mike
And then his final parting word was. We were like, wow, you took it there.
Nick
Yeah, he went hard on. On that. But the game words.
Mike
Feels good.
Nick
Feels good, man. The movement is fun. I had to get a little used to the sort of wall jumping, but it. It. It's very, very. I mean, it's. It just feels good. The shooting's good. Call of Duty has always had, in my opinion, the best shooting mechanic. It just feels right. And I'm excited, man. I'm excited for that new map. When that new little tiny map comes out. That looks good. The question is, though, we keep coming back to this. Are we gonna ride. Are we gonna ride back like we did originally, or is Andy gonna big time us and go, I'm sorry, guys.
Mike
I have to play Liza p for the 17th time. Yeah, we understand. You're the greatest at it. I have played it twice, and he' sign up for ATDQ to speed run the goddamn.
Nick
There's a new Elden ring mod that lets me play on Game Boy. I gotta play it right now.
Andy
I played it twice. Okay, you played 19 days straight of Pokemon.
Mike
It was a long time.
Andy
It was way longer than that, actually. You were.
Nick
So you're playing Kingdom hearts for like 15 years.
Mike
Bad move. We need to know if you're back game.
Nick
I need to. Well, I also. No, Andy, you're important to me.
Mike
Yeah, Very.
Nick
You're important to me.
Mike
You are.
Nick
You are literally the cornerstone of the Jabroni. But really, when it boils down to it is this. I know how to get you back in. I know how to get you back in.
Mike
Yeah.
Nick
Okay. And I know the way to your heart. And he's in the chat right now.
Andy
Yeah. Yeah.
Nick
It's through one Chris Anka. Is the weapons arbiter gonna fly with us? Are we gonna get the spaceman? Are we gonna get Maddock? Are we gonna get washed?
Andy
Where are they?
Nick
Where does JD Even live these days? Where are the. I need. I need the lineup of boys that I jump in. And I feel bad because I'm taking someone's spot who's better than me. But I take it anyway because I'm Nick Scar.
Andy
Pino.
Nick
Where's Chris Anchor? Are you back on this?
Mike
Chris so much.
Nick
He just said no. Didn't even capitalize the end. Just put no in the chat.
Mike
So much. Capitalize it. Me and Nick for him just to drop a stack of potatoes.
Nick
Me and Chris got be best friends because of triangle off Best friends.
Mike
We were working.
Nick
We're playing that one mode that's like. What was that one mode we played where it was like you all just
Andy
really exhausted super hard.
Mike
Yeah, we really worked.
Nick
We. I'll give me 20%. No, no, no, that's 80 the problem right there.
Andy
I'd go. No, I'd go.
Mike
I would.
Andy
If I were to put. If I were to go into.
Nick
Yeah, if I were to go into
Andy
Chris Anka, star artist of the Spider verse movie franchise, very busy person, very talented person, has no business dealing with our shouldn't. If I were to go into Chris Anka's mind and go, who annoyed you more? I would give 40, Mike 60. Nick, I think any given Sunday. I mean, I'm not gonna disagree with you.
Nick
An argument can be made.
Mike
An argument. 35. 65. Mike is. Wow, he's 65.
Nick
You think I'm 65.
Mike
Oh, that's tight.
Andy
That's tough. That's tough, Chris. Angus says Nick's right. He says Nick's right.
Mike
Was any given Sunday.
Andy
Any given Sunday.
Nick
Any given Sunday.
Mike
That's true. We did like to push his button sometimes.
Andy
The.
Nick
No, here's, here's the real problem. Here's how we really lost. Chris was cuz you all started playing Marvel Rivals like it's the second coming of Christ and he really got it and I just, I couldn't get into it. I couldn't.
Mike
I couldn't.
Andy
Yeah. So I love those.
Nick
Maybe, maybe the timing will work out right when Rival starts to, you know, plateau a little. Just plateau a little bit for everyone. They're looking for that new experience.
Mike
That game, that game had the juice we called it. That game was game of the summer game, you know, of the year. It had the juice, it stuck around and it's still around.
Nick
Chris Anka brought up a very good point. You push every fight with 40 bullets. No armored ranked, man. Remember how great ranked was?
Mike
So much fun.
Nick
How fun. How much fun we had in ranked?
Mike
It was.
Nick
We gotta do it again.
Andy
It was such a volatile place to be in that discord when you were pushing fights with no armor and six bullets in your weapon that you hadn't reloaded yet. And then you go, I didn't reload.
Mike
A million micro decisions being made at a moment's notice. You know, it's a lot going on in War Zone.
Andy
Yeah.
Mike
There's a Nicki Minaj skin that has somehow slid, slide, cancel. Slid. Double jump. Puny hopped on top of us. How are we supposed to know what's
Andy
happening I got killed by a jumping front flipping 21 savage.
Nick
Sure.
Mike
We forgot our shields. That guy just did something so amazing. I didn't know the neck code could handle it.
Nick
And you can just feel it when they're out there looking at you, laughing.
Andy
A lot of bad.
Nick
We got to get back to ranks.
Mike
So at the end of the day, three big games coming.
Nick
The two games I'm most excited about.
Mike
Give. Give me your top two.
Nick
Yeah, give me your top two. Probably. Probably. Probably. Arc Raiders number one. Okay.
Andy
Wow.
Nick
I, I, we played it. Jumping into that environment, I was like, this team did a great job making this feel like a place that's scary and someplace that I want to explore. Like you were talking about.
Andy
This is.
Nick
I would jump in on my own. Just jump in there, see what's got.
Andy
This was seven months ago, and it felt super polished and close to being done that we thought it was going. We thought it was gonna be a shadow drop. That's how, like, good it felt.
Nick
It felt good.
Andy
And they've had even more time to optimize. This is. I saw a tweet this morning that was like, share this to scare the games industry. And it was the video that Barrett was just playing a little earlier, where it's DLSS is off and you are getting 4K 118 frames per second. It's like they have used. That's why they have done so much work into making sure that the game runs and looks great. The game, I mean, I think environmentally this game just interests me the most
Nick
because of 428 frames.
Andy
That's with all the frame generation and stuff. But, like the, the audio in this game, Phenomenal.
Nick
Perfect and all of that. You know, it might sound trivial, it might sound trite, but all that goes into building an environment that you go, I want to go back into.
Mike
I want to be here.
Nick
I want to exist in this. So I'm all in on Arc Raiders. I would like to get into that as soon as possible. And of course, Call of Duty is always there. It's going to be fun. Call of Duty. I, I am experienced enough with it to be able to jump in and just have a fun time, even if I'm not great, even if I get destroyed. But if you guys are with me, if we have a fun squad and we're all joking around, that, to me, is the experience that I want whenever I sit down on my PC. So those two games I'm very excited about. Battlefield can come and go as it pleases. I will play with you guys I will have fun.
Andy
That's where I'm at.
Nick
But I have a feeling that it's just. I don't. I just don't think we're ever going to be a Battlefield household. I think we're a cod. I think we're a war Zone household through and through.
Mike
They are.
Nick
And I. And. And the big question with arc, we, you know, we've played. We've had fun with extraction shooters before, but they don't. They never stick.
Mike
But we got really lost in Tarkov, and we missed. We missed.
Nick
Well, Andy admitted Tarkov with us.
Mike
Andy was here with Tarkov.
Nick
Tarkov is too punishing, though.
Mike
It's punishing.
Nick
But we've got. We've gone down the road. We've played every Extraction shooter that's been out in the last five years.
Mike
We did.
Nick
We did. And we have a blast. And then we just forget about him. So the question is this. How do we. Is this going to stick with us? Are we going to play this for longer than a couple days?
Mike
Andy, what are your top two?
Andy
Our graders, probably number one. And then Call of Duty, Black Ops or Battlefield 6 will be just like what Nick mentioned. I'll play whenever you guys want to play. Whenever we put it on a stream, I'm more than happy to go in and click heads like, this is not a game that I, you know, super look forward to, but it's definitely not a game that I'm like, I don't want to play Battlefield 6. Like, I'm. Yeah, it looks great. It feels great to play, and I can definitely have fun with that. One thing I want to just throw out before we end the podcast is something I've been mulling on for quite some time, and I feel like.
Nick
Makes me nervous.
Andy
I feel like we could turn this into content in a. In a big way.
Nick
Okay.
Andy
Okay. As you all know, every Thursday, I play with Team Val Frog and our Valorant Squad.
Nick
So cool. Yeah.
Mike
I watch patiently at the window just hoping to be invited one day.
Andy
What I really, really, really want to do, because Team Battlefrog, so far gone, we've invited some other homies who are way higher ranked, and they put our team in a higher rank.
Nick
That's terrible.
Andy
And we get rinsed. That sounds horrible. We get rinsed by everybody. I don't like that. And I'm getting my ass whooped. And I'm like, hey, I'm peak silver, too. And I look at everybody else's ranks, and the lowest they have is gold, and the highest they have. People were peeking at you.
Nick
You know, I want to see a diamond. You never want to see a platinum. No, you don't want to see those ever.
Andy
What I really, really, really want is I want to create another valorant account to. So I could still be on Team Battle Frog, but I want to make a valorant team with us. I would love that. I want, like, I would go hard.
Mike
Do we need to make new accounts?
Nick
I will train. No, no, we got hours. I'm.
Andy
Yeah, but, like. But my character is already on Valfrog, so I want to make a new account to. So we could get on a team and play every. Whatever it's required of us, like, every Sunday or whatever. Or, like, and we all stream it. We make it an event, and it's like, all right, I would love. Team Jabroni is going at it, you know, and it's whoever we want to invite on the squad. Like, I want to really make it a serious thing that we broadcast and make a big deal out of it, because it is a very cool feeling. Whenever your team's doing decently and three weeks into the season, you're like, oh, we're in the playoff running. We got to win the next four games, and we're in the playoff run. You know, Like, I think we could have a lot of. A lot of fun with it. Somebody says smurf. Yeah, but, like, Smurf would make sense if I was original, if I was already a platinum player.
Mike
Yeah, he's gotta. He's gotta play with five others that aren't that good.
Andy
I'm a. I'm a silver player.
Mike
Or at least two.
Andy
Like.
Nick
Like, I mean, I'm garbage.
Andy
Mike and Nick were bronze. Like, easy. Yeah.
Nick
Not even trying.
Andy
And also, yeah, our team right now is, like, they put us up in a much higher rank, and it just. It's not fun. It feels like we know who we are.
Nick
We're not trying to be like, aaa, you know?
Mike
Here's the deal then. I. We want to do this. Me and Nick. We're in. We're already ready, I think Mike. Well, I'll double. Well, no, I really want. We'll double check his account out. What do you need to do to make sure your account is ready or Nick's account is ready? I know all my account is ready. You have to be level 50, like, in Rainbow Six Siege or anything crazy.
Nick
Oh, you mean to play rank? Yeah, that's a good question.
Mike
Get there. We're ready to go.
Andy
I'll have to double check, but you have to, like, we've played hours. I think you do have to. To assign it to a phone number or something so that they know that you're like, give him Kevin's number.
Mike
That would be funny.
Nick
I'm kidding.
Mike
I'm kidding. Get so mad about that.
Andy
And that is the end of the games, guys. Everybody. Appreciate you all watching. If you have any questions, let us know in the comments down below. Thank you, Mike, for joining us and talking about your experience with the Battlefield 6 campaign. Nick was here. I mean, we had great discussions about shooter games.
Nick
I'm very excited.
Andy
I had a lot.
Mike
I'm fired up all together, and that's what we needed. We needed to bring this group together again.
Andy
See you next fall, all. Have a nice fall.
Mike
Hell, yeah.
Andy
We'll see you next time, gamers.
Nick
Stay cool.
Andy
Goodbye.
Mike
Stay frosty.

(07:19–10:34)
“A safe, dull reimagining of what Battlefield once was rather a bold reinvention of what it could be. 5 out of 10 from Simon Cardy.”
(10:34–15:03, 20:10–27:32)
(16:13–21:17)
"Call of Duty always amazes with short little bursts of cool creativity … I was really hoping to see something like that, Mike, but it sounds like maybe that never happens." (17:17)
(12:14–15:03, 22:57–27:53)
"90 seconds into what should be a really cool, heart-pounding stealth, high tension mission... we're firing at red barrels. Buildings are falling down in the darkness. There is no stealth, there's no tension." – Mike (19:47)
(21:17–23:07, 30:05–30:36)
“If you were a first timer in Battlefield, I think this will give you a great tutorial, a nice onboarding onto everything.” – Mike (30:05)
(26:59–27:32, 28:30–29:06)
Snowbike Mike on the campaign’s mediocrity:
“It is not a super wow factor campaign. It is just a middle of the road, okay, mediocre, fine campaign.” (10:34)
Andy on expectations vs. reality:
