Kinda funny. What's up everybody? Welcome into your game. Gamescast plays there. It is called Gameplay Stream. Cotton.
A
I also thought there might be something else. Let's do it again. What up everybody and welcome into your kind of funny games Cast plays for the week number two of the week number two. Already had two of them. This is your second one. It's Mike and Kevin sitting down with an oldie from earlier this year that a lot of the team hadn't been able to get to. A lot of them either. Tried it for the review, maybe put it down, maybe had other games going on. But no one on the team committed to Crimson Desert like the man sitting next to me, Kevin Coelho.
B
Mike. I looked into it.
A
Yeah.
B
I started playing this game. I believe it was April 5th. April 5th.
A
Okay.
B
Yeah. Maybe like a week after we got keys to it.
A
Yes, yes, yes.
B
And so it's been 53 days if the Google is correct. So in those 53 days, we're on the screen here so that everyone can see I have logged 305 hours and I am only 85% complete.
A
There's a lot to break down there. Crimson Desert officially released globally March 19, 2026. Of course, some of the team, the review team got in there early. Kevin was not one of them.
B
No, no.
A
Kevin was running shows, jumped in after the release. Right. And so you came on late, as you said, about April 1st and 5th and now you've teared it up 305 hours since then.
B
Yeah, yeah. Anytime I am not running something, maybe with a couple exceptions here, I'm usually playing it.
A
That's 12.7 days.
B
Yeah, yeah. Almost 13 days there with the flank.
A
Okay.
B
It's a lot. But it's also interesting to think that if I had just done nothing for two weeks, including not sleeping, this would have been it. Yeah. That's how much I would have played.
A
So you've been playing this on the go? Of course. This is a gamescast plays to everybody out there watching on twitch and on YouTube. This is a more editorial side where we'll talk about the games. We're gonna play the game in the background, we're gonna answer your questions. So of course, if you have questions, if you got comments about the game, I want to see them in the Twitch and YouTube chat. Throughout this. And yeah, we have a lot to talk about because Kevin, 12 full days you've been playing it whenever you have a free moment. Cause you've been playing a lot on the portal is what I wanted to get to.
B
So I've been playing so much on the portal that I believe I've given myself tennis elbow.
A
Feel it.
B
Feel it holds Extending my elbow right now. Painful because it's this, you know, the screen not big on the portal. So you gotta hold it right here, you know. And I just do that for eight hour stretches and turns out that is not great. As it turns out, not to.
A
Roger44, writes in on YouTube and says oldie Mike, question mark. I would look at you and say, did you know over the past two months over 2000 games were released, six of them being over 85 to 89 on Metacritic. And Crimson Desert released March 19th. That's how many games have come between Crimson Desert and now my friends.
B
That can't be right.
A
There's already too many games every single moment dropping to try to get into. And I'm glad that Kevin found time for this. We talked about the PlayStation portal. 305 hours, 12 days. Kevin, let me tell you what, 85%. I need to ask a question because
B
I don't know this. Yeah, I'm listening.
A
PlayStation tracks. This percentage, is that your trophies or is that your ga? Is it actually calculating the game accomplishments and the missions?
B
I think it's calculating the missions. I'm not certain. I'm not certain because I really. I've only looked about spoilers on like where to find gear and stuff. Like not so much story. Cause and we'll get into this. Ask me one question about the story, I won't know the answer.
A
Oh, you don't know about Cliff, but if you.
B
Yeah, Cliff. What's his last name?
A
Cliff McDuff.
B
Yeah, McDuff, that's right. If you look down over at trophies, do you see how many trophies I have?
A
He has six total trophies.
B
That's insane. 300 hours and I've just six trophies.
A
Yeah. So now it is interesting because Niko writes in and says it usually is tracking story progress.
B
So yeah, game progress is what it says.
A
Tracking your trophies at all. That's very interesting.
B
Also, I thought I was right at the end. Yeah, I thought I was right at the end. I just got my dragon.
A
Okay.
B
And I'm shocked.
A
Well, Kevin, let's jump into it right now. Of course, chat. You can jump in on YouTube and on Twitch, they ask Kevin questions. This is Your gamescast place number two for the week. Of course, you can go check out the earlier one, which is your questions answered for James Bond First Light IO Interactive. Now, this is Mike Kevin. Mike Kevin jumping into Crimson desert with Kevin, who spent a lot of time
B
on this way too much fun level.
A
What's the fun level, the freedom level
B
that you're experiencing once you get past the, like, wow, these controls are really annoying. It's incredible. It's so much fun. And also once you get a little bit more overpowered, but that can happen quickly. Okay, but I say that and then it's like, oh, maybe I didn't get overpowered till I was 150 hours. Oh, you know what I mean? It's exploration. It's Breath of the Wild, it's Tears of the Kingdom. It has that same feel of like, hey, here's an open world that feels alive. There are so many moments where, Mike, anytime I'm playing one of these games, what I like to do, my number one thing is, hey, I'm gonna open up, I'm gonna clear all the fog of war bullshit, you know?
A
Yes.
B
So I want to look at my map and see it all. And for this game, it's. You have to find in certain buildings these bells.
A
Okay?
B
They don't tell you where they are. I got very lucky that I found them all. But also, the map is the biggest thing in the. God, it's the biggest map I've ever seen. It takes. I don't know that I've ever ridden from one side to the other, but it would take surely an hour to get from one side. It's a massive, massive, massive map. So that probably took me, I don't know, 15 hours to actually open up all the map. And then it's like, you know, maps have different areas with different levels, so you get different biomes, different environments, but you get to areas where you're like, oh, my God, I can't. Oh, I can be on these little. You have to stand on these little tracks that, like, will dip down and then suddenly it's a hot travel spot. I didn't have enough time to stand on those before I was getting murdered by some areas. So it was like, oh, shit, I gotta get tougher. So it's like, then you're googling. How do I get stronger in this goddamn game? And let me tell you, infinite arrows. That's.
A
Infinite arrows is the answer for you.
B
It's what you need.
A
Okay. Yeah, I have some fun ones from you. Shay Braven writes in, says, I Know, Kevin also loves Fortnite. That's your other previous addiction game. Did you know that Cliff is in Fortnite?
B
No. Is he really? Oh, my God. Right now?
A
I looked it up. It looks like he does have his item shop debut with a bundle as well.
B
Wait, is that live now? Should we boot up Fortnite real quick?
A
That was actually two days. He is live.
B
Oh, I think I might after.
A
You might have to get clear.
B
Yeah, yeah, I think I have to now.
A
There's so many ways I want to take this, right? That living, breathing open world, that was the big one. When I went to go see this game at GDC with Pearl Abyss, they said, hey, we want to make this game where you walk into towns and you feel like it's alive. People are doing their moving.
B
They nailed that.
A
They're talking. Tell me about that.
B
I mean, they nailed it. Like, it was so. I have seen no previews about this game. I had seen no trailers. Just someone in the office was like, oh, this is a game I think you'd like. And I was like, should I give it a go? Yeah, we got a key. I got a key for it. I gave it a go. And then as I'm exploring the world and I can't show you, unfortunately, because I've progressed story and those things are gone now. But, like, you would get to a cliff where there was no lie. Maybe 20 dudes shooting cannons at an island that had a giant serpent on it.
A
Oh, okay.
B
And you're like, all right, I guess I'll kill all these dudes. So you murder all the dudes. You go to the island, the serpent comes up to you and starts talking and is like, hey, man, I need help. And you're just like, what? That's one example. Another is you go to an area that has this, like, giant bridge, and there's just two factions going. They're at war. They're just fighting each other. The world feels like a real world. And it's like, yeah, those moments are just looping.
A
Yeah, of course.
B
But, like, it's so cool.
A
Now. Someone asked, is this running on a base PS5? This is on a base PS5. Kevin, you've played it on the base. The portal. Have you gone to the Pro at all just to see what it looks like?
B
No. And I asked Barrett to put me on the Pro, and he said, you don't need it. So I imagine it looks like this, but a little. The reality is I've been playing it mostly on the portal. That's what happened yesterday. You Looked at me. You said, you don't need it. You said, this is good enough. I love that he's trying to call me out, but that's what happened.
A
I love that Kevin does the mic right there.
B
Right?
A
Just like Kevin does when he, Barrett walked in. Immediately.
B
None of that.
A
Okay, so, yeah, you've seen it on the portal, on the bass. I'm sure if you saw it on the PS5 Pro, you'd be able to pick out some of the small, nice new ones.
B
But, like, unfortunately, even though I spent a lot of money on it, my home WI fi just doesn't work great.
A
Oh, okay.
B
So like on the Portal, there's a lot of times where I'm like, man, this screen is so fuzzy, I can't really see the details. So it's like I'm not used to playing this game with audio on. I'm not used to playing it with the right resolution.
A
This is such a treat to sit down and just play on tv. Kevin, you did bring up Cecil.
B
Yeah, there he is.
A
There's so much to talk about in this game.
B
Look at him. He's so perfect.
A
Don't run.
B
Don't run. There's my boy. Cecil.
A
You got Cecil the dog.
B
You want to see Ram?
A
I would just say you also have another pet as well. I know was a big deal for you. Okay. What do.
B
It's a Ram.
A
You know what, Kevin? I did. Out of a million guesses, I wouldn't have guessed an actual Ram to show up. Yeah. Oh, wow. That's awesome.
B
Yeah. So that's Ramses the second.
A
Okay, this is fantastic.
B
Yeah, yeah, yeah. We can see my other pets that I have.
A
What other pets do you have?
B
Let's go over that special mounts. Yeah, we've got Tiberius the polar bear.
A
Of course.
B
Call him over. Let's see. Where is he? Where is he?
A
I mean, we're not gonna address the most insane pet out of all those.
B
There he is. Hold on. Look at him.
A
What was he doing?
B
Why did he pop out? I need to figure out if I can get him armor because he's so cute. Look at him. Tiberius.
A
Does he just ride?
B
No, he attacks. Oh, he attacks.
A
Oh, it's a game that.
B
And what's. What's. What's even game. What's so fantastic is he attacks like without you controlling him. So if you go into a fight and he's with you, he'll be there. He just starts like one shotting fools. No problem.
A
There was one pet. Click on. Well, I mean, I think there's an Air balloon.
B
Oh, yeah, that's Nimbus. Okay.
A
Yeah, let's bring that out. For those who might not know, I'm
B
gonna do Nimbus 2000. So Nimbus obviously is named after the cloud from Dragon Ball.
A
Oh, okay, okay.
B
Yeah, yeah. But Nimbus 2000, that's a Harry Potter 2 reference. Harry Potter reference.
A
What do they call those?
B
The brooms.
A
The brooms. Yeah, the broomsticks. The broomsticks he rides. Yeah, yeah.
B
Do they call them broomsticks?
A
I don't know. What is the. I'll look it up. Is it just. No, I think they call it broomsticks. I don't think they can call them just brooms.
B
See, this is what I'm talking about. Instead of holding square, I tap square. And it was like, oh, do you want to jump?
A
We're gonna talk about the controls in just a moment. So you have the Nimbus 2000 here.
B
So this is my new one. I just got it recently, I haven't used it. I don't know what difference it has from the Nimbus, but it's the worst vehicle you can have in the game.
A
Why?
B
Cuz, like, look at it. This is the mobility you get out of it.
A
This is the coolest shit ever in a video.
B
I mean, it's cool, but for 10 seconds and then you're like off of
A
it and then go, yeah, you can jump off it. Yeah, yeah, that's what it's all about.
B
But like, look at this. I'm not moving.
A
Quick, survey the area around you and then jump out.
B
And this game is so beautiful. Look at this. Yeah, look at this.
A
Wow. So let's talk about the controls, because that was a big thing.
B
They're insane.
A
During the review.
B
They're insane.
A
The first week everybody was talking about the controls, right? Getting a hold of the controls, a hang of it, a flow with it. Because there's like a. A bunch of combos in this. It isn't just a pretty basic game. You can go down a giant list of combos in your menu.
B
I've seen videos of people doing crazy. Like you can clothesline someone, then throw them down, then drop kick, and then start doing a somersault of kicks. I don't know how to do any of that.
A
Oh, okay, that's fine.
B
You know what I mean? I have a lightning sword, which is really fucking cool. Cause sometimes you one shot people and you'll have a big enemy that's suddenly just all black and they're just burned.
A
Okay, that's pretty sick. That's pretty sick. I love this.
B
Yeah. I don't know how to stop this. Okay. No, it's. Yeah. I mean this is. But like, do you see how like this isn't great for mobility?
A
Yeah, I mean, like I said, I think you just go straight up. You get. I mean, honestly on a gamescast plays, it's like one of the coolest things you could do.
B
Yeah, you're right.
A
Yeah, yeah. And we can scan around, you can show. So this game, Kevin, is the do anything, everything game. I think some of the cool tech behind it was the draw distances and the trees that they were working on and how the trees. Trees popping and drawing, how each one can be unique. When we look at this, how far can you go, Kevin? Can you go to the snow capped mountains? Can you go to the red mesa over there? What's the distance of the map here?
B
Yeah, you see that big hill that's in the shadow with a little like thing? Yeah, you can go there all the way there. That's as far as that side ends. And then this side, it's that. The green hill that has a little bit of shrubbery on the top. That's the end of this side here. Okay, so you're like, that's, that's very far. Yeah, like that would take us quite a while to walk to.
A
Okay, okay, okay, okay.
B
And like that. The. Where is it? Okay, there it is in the cloud there. That distance also is insane. Like this world is so massive. Like if we pull up the map. Still going. All right, there it is. So the area that I was pointing at is over here. That was the, like the little mountain with the green on top.
A
Wow.
B
And the other area is over here.
A
Wow.
B
Yeah. And it's like, it's like, let's try. Well, interaction in progress. What does that mean?
A
I think it's because you're.
B
Oh, I'm holding on.
A
Yeah, you're holding onto it.
B
You think if I jump.
A
Travel through? Yeah. Probably just jump down to the ground. Oh, okay. Or just do a midair.
B
Yeah, like, you know, why not? Why not? Let's see. We can go and then look over to that side. You think we'll see my hot air balloon. Hey, that worked.
A
I just want you to know, Kevin, seeing this, seeing how far you've progressed is pretty mind blowing. And it gets me so excited for their future projects because the next one is Doki V, which was that crazy Pokemon esque, like one which was insane to see. And I just, I can't imagine it being done here in A game like
B
that, These people are brilliant. And any game they put out, regardless whether or not it's a genre that I like, I will at very least try.
A
Yeah.
B
Get the hell out. Is that my hot air balloon? Do you see that? To the mountain, to the left side. There's a circle straight in front of us. Put it up right there. There's something. You see that?
A
Chat. Is that his mountain?
B
Is that my hot air balloon?
A
The hot air balloon still in the sky.
B
That's my explosive arrow. Don't worry about it. Infinite amounts.
A
That might be the hot air balloon in the sky.
B
That would be crazy. Wow.
A
So this map is littered with hundreds upon thousands of things to do. Were you pleased with the map? Was it barren? In some spots where it's kind of boring. Did you find a lot of, like, kind of unique open world events?
B
They call it, like, barren. You couldn't describe the map as barren.
A
But there's always something to do.
B
There's always so much to do. And it's like, you know, if you want to get in, like, there's so many different things that you can get into. And like, it's just nonstop. I'm gonna go to the abyss.
A
Okay.
B
Cause I think it's one of the coolest looking parts. So the abyss is like tears of the kingdom. You know, like little city up top. Same deal.
A
Yeah.
B
All fun.
A
Sky Island. Yeah. Okay.
B
Yeah. So they're all puzzles and like, I've. I think I've done all of them there. I might have one left. But like, it's also the most beautiful thing in the world of like, just coming up here and like, there's. There's the world beneath you, just taking it all in. Yeah. You know, wow. Gorgeous. And. Yeah, no, like this world, it feels real. Like again, there's the moments where you were like, okay, it's not real. Cause here I am, like, going to this same bridge and it's that same interaction where these guys are just fighting. No one's actually getting destroyed, but it's like, God, it's. I've never felt it before in a game where I'm like, oh, shit, I'm intruding on someone else's thing, you know? Okay, let me step out of here.
A
Yeah. The lived in world.
B
The lived in world.
A
And you're watching it take place even without interacting with it.
B
Yep, yep, yep.
A
Cool. That's very cool.
B
And then you can. So one of the cool things you can do is sometimes if you're like, hey, I want to take a shortcut. You can jump off here.
A
Okay.
B
And it goes through this little transition through. You're now leaving the abyss.
A
Okay.
B
And you're entering the regular world. But you're like, you know, 10,000ft in the air.
A
That's fucking wild.
B
Yeah.
A
It gives kind of Westworldy vibes of like, I'm going into the now.
B
I'm going to Westworld.
A
Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm leaving the human world. I'm going to Westworld now.
B
You know.
A
Okay. Kev, this is. How long can you stay in that form? For as long as you have endurance or. And so you've leveled up. So now it's slower. You have wonder.
B
Right. And I have stuff that, if. If I wanted to, I can get, like, you know, a little juice.
A
Okay.
B
Get me going longer.
A
Yeah. What kind of RPG elements are there? Were you pleased every time you leveled up, Was it long to level up? What were some of those things?
B
It was fairly easy. And it's kind of like. I don't know, like, it happened so quick, I didn't really have to think about it. See, now I'm all out.
A
Okay.
B
And it's like, if I want, I could let myself free fall. And it's regaining.
A
Yes, of course.
B
Right.
A
And so you call it back at any moment.
B
Right. And then back to floating.
A
Yep, yep. Yeah.
B
And now I'm charging my, like, spirit energy back up.
A
Okay.
B
But, yeah, all of that came fairly easy. And with. With just exploring, you can open up a bunch of, like, travel spots that'll quick travel. That will also give you the currency for adding more stuff to yourself.
A
Okay. Char Zander writes in and says the game is cool. The story is weak and the controls are complicated, but other than that, it's enjoyable if you're willing to invest the time. Kevin, talk to me about the story. You said you don't really know much about Cliff and his life. You've been playing sometimes on mute. Just gaming.
B
Mostly on mute.
A
Mostly on mute. What is. Do you have any tracking of the story whatsoever?
B
Honest to God. And I feel bad every time. Cause they don't let you skip the cutscenes. They only allow you to fast forward.
A
Okay.
B
I feel like a bad person. Of, like, I want to care.
A
Yeah.
B
You know, but it's like I'm in the middle doing stuff. I just want to get back to exploring this world. So I'm just sitting there, holding down X or square, whatever.
A
I don't want to hear your trouble. Yeah.
B
You're like, hey, man, tell me who to kill and they'll get killed. You know what I mean?
A
Characters. All Cliff ever says is, yes, and that's clearly how Kevin is playing is, you tell me what you want, I'll go do it. I'm in the mood to do that. Okay. And so are there any rememberable moments? You bring up the bridge and seeing two factions go to war. Is there a mission where you're like, mike, this mission was dope. I fought a boss inside that gloomy cave. There was a dragon ball.
B
That's the thing. I'm really bad at this game, okay. I'm like, I don't know if it requires better gameplay. Like, you know, like, just being better at, like, fighting than I am.
A
Okay.
B
But I'm not doing well playing this game. So, like, I've had to cheese it where it's like, now I have a ton of life, okay? And my armor that I have is incredible. And the weapons that I have are ridiculous. So, like, the big thing is I have inventory. So you can get these little jewels in your weapons, Right?
A
Okay.
B
So if you look at my bow and arrow, it's got 40% chance of not consume arrows and a 60% chance of not consuming arrows.
A
Okay. That's dope.
B
And yes, they do stack. That means I have 100% chance of not consuming an arrow. On top of that, I've got two attacks increasers and a crit rate increaser.
A
How many jewels can you shove into this?
B
For each different thing, you can shove a different amount. So for the bow and arrow, that's the most. Five.
A
Okay.
B
But you pair that with the arrow that I have, which is an explosive arrow of which the world only gives you seven. Unless you do, like, you eventually you can open it up where you can craft them.
A
Okay.
B
But, like, you're unstoppable. You know, you're unstoppable, and it makes it like, I'm so bad. I didn't come to this game to beat hard bosses.
A
Yeah.
B
And I'm not saying the bosses are that hard. They are for me, very hard.
A
Okay.
B
Okay. So I got to a point where I was like, I am just getting rocked. I am spending so much energy trying to beat these guys, and it's stopping my exploring the world ability. I need to figure out a solution. And that's when I was like, I'm gonna look into it. If I get infinite explosive arrows, I think that'll put me in a good spot. That'll put me in a good spot.
A
I get it. Okay. Okay. So you're showing us before we get even deeper into gameplay because after the ad break, we're gonna start playing a little bit. Kevin's gonna show us some of his favorite stuff here on the screen we're seeing map. We have our inventory with your special mounts and all that Jazz. Your journal I had taken, of course. Is your missions that you're going on. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Is that just tracking story missions or that?
B
No, it tracks everything.
A
Okay. You want to highlight this and it's upsetting.
B
Well, no, I mean it's just upsetting of how many things are. You see the green arrows are checked off. Like why am I. Why do I have six?
A
Well, exploration to enjoy.
B
Yeah, no, no, I know. I'm just saying, like I'm shocked that I don't have more trophies.
A
Okay, okay.
B
What am I doing wrong? So many of these things actually. These are all. And then there's challenges, which I haven't really. You know, I'm not. I don't mess around with challenges.
A
Okay, okay.
B
Like I don't need to be challenged. You know, I'm just trying to explore the world.
A
That's all.
B
Right.
A
I think that's the coolest part about this, is you spending 300 hours and in this game but playing it the way you want, right?
B
Absolutely.
A
That's definitely how Pearl Abyss wanted people to do this.
B
Also shout outs to Pearl Abyss for adding this whole triangle down. Mark Allred. Thank you.
A
Guess what?
B
I'm not. I don't need exclamation marks. Exactly. If someone wants to read it, I'm glad the option's there.
A
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
B
I'm currently working on getting a cat, obviously. Thomas.
A
Yes, of course.
B
So while we go to ads or whatever, I'm gonna fast travel here. I'm gonna go pet the cat.
A
I love that. And I did see Barrett walk over there. So here's what I remind you. Of course, this is kind of funny. Games. We're giving you a gamescast plays all about Kevin's 300 plus hours in the crimson desert. Looking back on a game dropping in March and saying wow, look at this giant game and all. It's Mike. It's Big Kev Dog. We are going through the game with all of you. Talking about some of your memories from the game, reading super chats just like our good friend Zeke the freak writes in and says I'm almost 400 hours on day nine.
B
You had a one up me. Why you gotta wanna four in the
A
game and only on chapter seven. So very similar to you.
B
Day 94 look at me. I'm at day at 142. Yes, that's how does that happen?
A
That's crazy.
B
Well, hold on.
A
That's.
B
How is that possible?
A
I want to hear everyone. I want to hear where everyone else is at, who is playing. So of course if you are playing, let us Know your hours, your day, what you're thinking so far. And of course, has Kevin read the Axiom records? I'll tell you, he probably has not.
B
Should I be reading the Axiom records?
A
And then Triforce Powers writes in with the shall.
B
Let me know about the Axiom records.
A
Kevin, when was the moment you fell in love with this game?
B
I want to say like 15 minutes in. Oh, shit. Yeah, it was like, oh, my God. It was the moment after. I was like, hey, these controls suck. I'm gonna learn to deal with that. But it was, it was, it was about the cause it, like, it allows you to explore a lot early on, you know, like the limitations of like, stamina aren't that bad. Of like, okay, I can keep climbing. I can climb up this big mountain strategically and make it to the top early, you know, and like, it just. You look around, you're like, I wonder how far I can go. And then you start going to that because you're like, oh, surely it stops there.
A
Yeah.
B
And then you go further and you're like, it's still going.
A
If you were to come up to me and say, mike, what's a Kevin game? I would label this as a Kevin game because I think about you with these giant open world, kind of really choose your own. Choose your own adventure games. Zelda, Breath of the Wild. I think of you with. Right. Assassin's Creed, when you fell in love with Valhalla, where it's just like, hey, honestly. Yeah, well, both go wherever you want. Good luck, you know. And it's like Kevin thrives in that where he can make his own and have some fun. So, yeah, this is a great one right here.
B
Let me tell you about this tough thing that I've got going on right now. I want a cat and I want a cat that looks like my cat.
A
Yes, let's talk about that. So you've taken us here to a
B
little village where there's a lot of cats.
A
Is this a cat village or are these human beings?
B
No, there are some cat men.
A
I don't know.
B
So there are. The little kids are like elves or something. I don't know. They've explained it. I wasn't listening.
A
There's a whole world out here. Yeah, yeah.
B
There's also cat people here. Okay, I'm going to greet. You can also greet everyone. And you get like, you know, like, I don't know, their fingers. You get positive attention from them. If you get a.
A
Now that is a cat toy, like house right there.
B
It looks like, oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, they like cats here. Yeah, that's why I'm here.
A
Okay.
B
I'm looking for a cat. Now the problem is to befriend a pet, you have to catch them or pet them, but there's a lot of them and you need to do it like four or five days in a
A
row to then welcome this cat.
B
And I started doing it with one cat.
A
Okay.
B
But then that cat, I can't find him.
A
No.
B
So now I'm gonna do it with all the cats because eventually one of them will be close enough that one
A
of them will break.
B
Yeah.
A
Yeah. Okay, that's great. That's great.
B
Ah. Don't run.
A
And so now your goal is like, I have to go pet this cat.
B
Yeah.
A
Every day.
B
Well, for like five days.
A
Wow.
B
I mean, if I want a cat that matches my real life.
A
Hey, I agree. I. I get it. I think it's a very cool system.
B
I got him, I got him. I got him. Okay, I'm gonna pet him and see if I already have any points on him.
A
Okay.
B
I'm not. Nothing's popping up. There we go. 20. All right. I already started working this cat.
A
So this cat has plus 5. Trust in you now.
B
Now I can pet the cat five times.
A
Five times?
B
Uh huh. And then on top of that, I think I can give him like, I
A
bet five times a day.
B
Yeah.
A
Oh, shit.
B
Yeah.
A
I thought it was just five dudes total.
B
No, no, no, no. But like, it's not even today. I have to then come back tomorrow in the world and pet him.
A
Yeah, I get it now. So we pick up the cat, you pet it for five. Loyalty here, trust. So if you do that five times a day, that's 25.
B
Trust. Right, right, right.
A
Our goal is to work up that circle around its face right there to get to where, though?
B
100%.
A
No.
B
And at 100%, I get to keep the cat.
A
Okay. So this is gonna take some time. Yeah, thanks for time. Oh, my God. Okay. Amazing. Amazing. Okay, great.
B
But it does become like, I put a little marker down and I'm like, okay. Yeah, like, cool. I'm gonna go work on my stop for a second.
A
You said you lost the last cat, so.
B
Yeah.
A
If you were to put this cat
B
down and let her know, Mike, I don't think you understood. There are three other white cats.
A
Yeah, that's what I'm saying.
B
I'm gonna catch them too and pet them.
A
Yeah, it doesn't matter.
B
And now let me go into my inventory. Well, I just want one of them. Yeah, but like, if if we can't find that one cat later, we're gonna have a problem.
A
I'm crying, I'm crying. And how insane. This chicken.
B
Do I have a chicken? Let me give him a chicken. Okay, Use feed. You see how complex this menu is? Did I get any points? Got a lot. 20.
A
20.
B
Okay.
A
You might just want to pump this thing.
B
Well, I mean, yeah, this definitely is the plan. I didn't know I'd get 20 for that.
A
Oh my God.
B
They just. They get full, you know, use.
A
Oh, he gets full. He says no, I'm good on that.
B
If I get one more. This is it. This is my cat.
A
This is a beautiful thing right here. We're watching Kevin get a cat live on stream.
B
Use Feed.
A
Oh my gosh.
B
That's my cat. I got a new cat, guys.
A
So this has become your friend.
B
So now I. Now look at the bottom right. I have the option to take in. I will take that option. He is now in my cat. He is now my cat.
A
That was amazing. Okay, that's great. That's great.
B
Where the fuck did he go?
A
Can you only have one of each animal?
B
No, you can have as many as you want.
A
So you can have multiple cats?
B
Yeah, I'm gonna have the one.
A
So you could become the cat man.
B
100%.
A
Okay.
B
Okay, so we have our inventory slots, right? This is me. This is Cliff.
A
Yeah.
B
And then if I hit even these menus are like. So R1. L1 will move the top bar.
A
Yeah.
B
L2. R2 will move this guy that goes to who?
A
Samantha.
B
Samantha's the name of my horse. Okay.
A
Samantha.
B
She's lovely.
A
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Uh huh.
B
The special horse.
A
Okay.
B
And then we have a special mount.
A
Yes.
B
And we've got Tiberius.
A
And they all can have stuff on them.
B
Yeah, I haven't found clothes that fit Tiberius yet.
A
We don't know the polar bear.
B
Leopold has a shell on his head.
A
Oh, that's lovely.
B
Yeah. And Ramsey's. I tried to put something on him, but I don't know. I'm sure they'll update that later.
A
Yeah.
B
All right, so now what we're going to do is change cat's name to Tom. No, it's not our one. Add an apostrophe because that's how I spell it.
A
Okay,
B
R2 done. Yeah, confirm. Okay, cool. And now we. I think I have. I think I already packed it. God damn it so hard.
A
Is there home ownership in this?
B
Yes, I have a home. Would you like to see my house?
A
Can you own a home? Can you decorate the home?
B
Yeah, And I have a theory that I would love to bring up to the best friends.
A
Okay.
B
That I brought up to Nick. And for some reason, like, I don't know, he seemed offended. Maybe he didn't understand what I was trying to say. But there's a photo in this game that I'm like, did a best friend work on this? All right, so now I've given him the necklace of friendship.
A
This was a big deal that you brought up.
B
Yeah. Thomas can now climb on me. I don't know how to make him climb on me, Carrie.
A
Oh, he's doing something.
B
He tripped, that guy, Right? The little kid just tripped and lost.
A
He did just fall down straight on his ass.
B
All right, I'm going to go to my house now.
A
Okay.
B
We'll find out if Thomas can climb. I don't want to read more. I'm not about reading, Chad. If you know how to get the cat on my shoulder now, let me know. All right. Now we go home. So you get a whole little village.
A
How many homes are there? Are there homes spread across the map
B
that you can buy or it's just one home?
A
Okay. Okay.
B
And there is a little bit frustrating things. I'm going to take you to our little village.
A
Okay.
B
So you get gifted a village by
A
some guy who doesn't want to be gifted a village.
B
Well, he gives you the top of a mountain. Eventually you make it into a village by, like. Okay. Getting, like you're getting more of your. Your, like.
A
Yeah.
B
I don't know, like, your. Your people back. So this is our little village. It's all tense. I don't know why they won't want to build home. Yeah.
A
Build a house structure.
B
Build a house.
A
Understand that we're going to live.
B
This is my garden. I just.
A
Did you build this?
B
No, they build it for you.
A
Okay.
B
But, like, you, like, do have to plant seeds in it and stuff. And I actually just emptied it because I have, like, a lot of really crazy plants.
A
Yeah.
B
And you can get a fertilizer, like, backpack.
A
There it is. Just jumped up on you.
B
Oh, this is precious.
A
That thing just jumped right up.
B
That was awesome. Anyways, you can get, like, a bunch of stuff, and it makes farming way more successful.
A
Have all of your pets out at once.
B
No, it doesn't seem like Cecil just disappeared. You can have a mount and a pet, but not.
A
Okay, okay, okay. Wow.
B
I keep messing up the menu. Now I have to press R L2. There we go. Now we go to pets. And if you do see. Yeah, only one pet at a time.
A
One at a time.
B
But we can call Tiberius or Leopold. Do you want to meet Leopold?
A
Yeah, I would love to see Leopold. I'm a big fan of Leopold. Fuck. Yeah.
B
You know what I mean?
A
What I thought it would look like.
B
God bless him.
A
It's like, not as cool as a chocobo, but just as cool as.
B
I mean, I think it's based off of Cho, the.
A
The arc dodo bird that you would kill for early game.
B
Yeah. Yeah.
A
I love this. I think it looks so cool.
B
Oh, it does look like the like, but like a big version.
A
Yeah, big, big version of the dodo and ark. Yeah.
B
So the first area that you live in is this tent right here.
A
Okay.
B
Yeah.
A
Okay. And can you put things in it?
B
Yes. And therein lies a problem. See this right here? This is private storage.
A
Okay?
B
I have a house. Why isn't private storage in my house? Excuse me while I move over a bunch of gears.
A
You can't move this whole thing over.
B
I can't move it. Chad, if you know how to move it, great. Let me know how because I really, really want to move it over. I'm just gonna mash all these gears.
A
Yes.
B
Give me a second. Give me a second. Ignore this part. Mm. Oh, my God.
A
What are you doing here?
B
These are all the abyss jewels, the gears that you can put into your weapons. I have a bunch of them. I just went over to a witch and she, like, added a. Like, I added a couple in there. But I bring them all so that I know which ones I have.
A
Yes. Smart.
B
Yeah, yeah, yeah. So now I'm just putting back in my storage. So this is the storage. This is my, like, original tent.
A
Yeah.
B
They gave me a house. You can't move your storage over, which is the most frustrating. They updated so you can add storage to your house. So I don't know if that's what I'm talking about because I'm talking specifically
A
about that treasure chest.
B
That treasure chest, because, yes, my house has storage. And I'll show you.
A
There's a lovely house with a bridge. Did you make this bridge?
B
They built it for you? Yeah. You tell them to.
A
This is insane.
B
Do you want to see my pool?
A
I would.
B
The pool just came out recently to make a pool.
A
No.
B
Full of squid.
A
Full of squid, yeah.
B
Any fish you want, you can put in there. I like.
A
How do you get the squid?
B
You got to catch them.
A
You catch a squids in there?
B
Yeah. Look at them. They'd be fucking. I didn't put that many squid in there. I actually. Let me See how many? Okay, 30 or 30. So as long as they don't go over, they won't die.
A
Wow.
B
Yeah. So this and then. So you can, if you want, you could fish in here. You can jump in and just grab the squid.
A
Stop it.
B
Yeah, you just go in there. Oh, wait, no, you can't grab them when you're in here because it's like special. But like normally when you're swimming, if you see a fish, you can just grab it. Fishing is very hard. I don't understand it.
A
But you're like a brown bear. Just
B
take a hold of it.
A
I'm a grizzly bear in Alaska. I don't give a shit.
B
I don't know.
A
They.
B
Kevin called it his pool. What is it? Is it not a pool?
A
He did call it a pool for a. And I did think like, oh, they actually made him a 20, 26 pool.
B
You know what I mean? That's a pool.
A
Yeah.
B
Just so you know, I saw men working on it.
A
Yeah.
B
Like there was 20 guys lined up just digging it out and stuff. As a pool.
A
JG says what everyone's thinking if you're watching this as Kevin is now 300 hours in everything. The game is everything.
B
Everything.
A
And that's a fun one because next week we're gonna have a Gamescast topic of what are you excited for from GTA VI? Or why is GTA 6 excited?
B
I have an idea for GTA VI that'd be interesting. Tell me, Kev, what if gta and like, I don't think it's gonna happen, but what if it had social media in it where it's like, there's like a game inside where you're trying to become social media famous, where it's like you do stupid shit like Jackass, you know, you film it and you put it up to whatever it's called. What do they do, like little fruits on ifruit, right?
A
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Uh huh. Yeah, yeah.
B
And you post it there and it's like it gets likes. And the more likes you get, the more famous you become. Yes, I love it. The more random people are like, oh my God. It's kind of funny, Kevin.
A
You know, I think when I think of that topic and someone asks like, what makes GTA 6 exciting? Or like, why do you like GTA? It is the everything prospect, right? It's like what we're seeing come to life right now in this video game with Kevin of everything is possible. Anything is possible. Kevin now has a home that he has decorated obviously with this giant painting.
B
I Love it.
A
Got a squid pond outside in this beautiful high fantasy world.
B
Right.
A
And like, that's the allure of GTA is like, I want to do anything and everything in the modern, like real life world that Grand Theft Auto has built. And similar in games like this and others where it's like, oh, just let me do anything and everything. That's what's the appeal. What do you see?
B
Do you think that looks like drum major Nick?
A
Yeah, it does. It does look like Nick. It looks like a young Nick. Yeah.
B
Like the photo from afar and a
A
quick look, that's it.
B
But like, it looks like the photo of him as a drum major from his high school. And I showed it to him and Nick was like, I don't know what you're talking about. I don't know.
A
Nah, he's lost it.
B
I was like, this looks like. Is there a kfbf?
A
Do me a favor really quick. Show me the putting things in this. What does the menu look like? Do you go into a top down sims look? Do you just put it down out of your pocket? How do you decorate this?
B
So something that's annoying is when you're in this house, the start menu no longer works as a start menu. So you're like, oh, I want to move something in my inventory. You know, you can't. So because now when you hit press start, it opens up.
A
Now we go into build mode.
B
Build mode.
A
Can you add wings, like the foundation of the house?
B
You essentially have three options, house size. So if we hit R3 compact, standard, spacious.
A
Wow.
B
This is spacious.
A
Okay.
B
I'm a little bummed out you can't do more.
A
Yeah. For spacious, I would have expected a little bit bigger.
B
One extra room.
A
One extra room minimum. That's right. But I mean, this is plenty of space. And so now where are you getting these items? Where did you get the chair and the table?
B
So the chair and the table you can buy from a furniture merchant.
A
That's wonderful.
B
Yeah, yeah, of course. Why would I even have to. I need to visit because I'm out of space in my wardrobe. So I want to buy another one.
A
Okay. Okay.
B
And then other things, like if you've noticed, I'm going to get out of this view now. There is a bunch of little lights.
A
Oh, yeah. Kind of like the lights they put in the studio. You and I had floor lights.
B
Yeah, yeah, yeah. So those are in random, like castles. You can just pick them up and steal them. Yeah. Great card. Yeah.
A
You can steal anything in the game.
B
You can steal a lot.
A
Like, let's say this. If I saw that cool painting up in a castle wall.
B
A painting? Yes. You can go up to any painting
A
and steal it and then put it in your house.
B
Yes. You know, in fact, that's how this big one got here.
A
The more you show me this game, it's incredible, man. Maybe I should spend a lot more time in this game.
B
And it's so then let me go in here. So some of the things they've added that have been like an amazing, fantastic addition is the gatherables chest.
A
Okay.
B
So now I can go in here and any gatherable that I have, all these things. Skyroot.
A
Yeah.
B
Shorthorn bloodstone, I can shove in here. And it's great. And now it's packed up. Anytime.
A
This is your everything chest.
B
Shove in here. Anytime. I'm making. With this cauldron, you can make things right. Like when you die, there's this golden orb and a black orb. The black orb. So you've died. Now if you press square will give you bring you back to life and give you 30% health. The gold orb will give you 100% health. So do I have 30 of them? Absolutely.
A
Because you crafted them.
B
Uh huh. So if you're a boss and you think you've killed me, you haven't. You have to kill me 30 times.
A
Kevin's thought that a lot.
B
Yep, yep, yep. We have refrigerators for our food.
A
Refrigerator.
B
Okay.
A
Okay.
B
So one of my favorite things is when I go on a journey, I come here and I unpack all the food. I'm gonna keep some food. Cause I might need it if I'm trying to get a pet to love me.
A
Now, this is your inventory. That is the refrigerator inventory.
B
Left and right, running short 73 out of 90. I'm gonna have to make another fridge.
A
He's gotta get a little more is right. Okay.
B
So I can come here and cook. The cooking mechanic's not great. I don't love it.
A
Is it like Zelda Breath of the Wild?
B
It's exactly.
A
It's like, oh, you're just gonna get a stat buff essentially, right?
B
No. Well, I mean, it's health, health and a stat buff.
A
Okay. But it's not like, hey, I'm hungry, I'm gonna die.
B
No. Yeah, yeah. You don't need to.
A
Okay.
B
But like, look, the complexity of these menus of like, we don't need the basic. And it's a step up. A step up. And it's like, okay, cool. And it's like this one will give you 500 health. It requires three. It's like, cool. So three eggs. Two eggs. And I only have six.
A
Yes.
B
Oh, no. Tender meat is my. Oh, you starfish. Interesting. Anyways, make. You can only make one. Fine. They have starfish in this game. Yeah, you run it on the beach
A
and you grab one.
B
That's exactly right. No, Mike, would you believe that I have a special back buck to pick up bucks?
A
Yeah. Okay. Yeah, Yeah. I mean, yeah. Deripto says it best. Mike would love this game. Yeah. This is the game I dream of.
B
Right.
A
When I bring up gta. This is like the dream Skyrim video game of, like, you truly can do anything. And yeah, this is a game. I got sick as Andy will tell you something, like Mike's sickness of the year, where I missed two weeks of work. Andy did the marathon stream, and I never got to play it. I should definitely do this. For sure. I will say, Kevin, I want to now run to the mountaintops and tell everyone after watching you play this to be like, this game might be the greatest game ever made.
B
It really is something spectacular. But, like, my wardrobe is totally full, you know?
A
Thank you to bowflex for the 5 or the 10 gifted subs. Thank you, Bowflex, for the support. Truly appreciate that. Thank you so much for supporting kinda funny with the subs there.
B
And I know what you're thinking, Mike. Like, why would you want to keep one of each helmet? I don't know. I, like, I'm unwell, you know?
A
Well, I think there's a point when you get to a certain point in the game where it's like, yeah, now I'm just like, why not collect every alpha? Why not fill my pond up for 30 squid? You know what I mean? Like, yeah, you're in the. Why not say just do it all?
B
Yeah.
A
If you don't want to leave the game and nothing else is pulling you.
B
Like.
A
Yeah. And this is one of those when we go, like, purchasing power.
B
Right.
A
How much will you get for your 60, $70?
B
Yeah.
A
A lot lifespan here. Yeah.
B
So here's the problem of the controls.
A
Okay.
B
So I want to fly. I'm trying to make it over to this city over there.
A
Right? Yeah.
B
So what I have to do is I have to press double press square twice at the right cadence. And then R, then R3. Three times. Yeah. To get me to go high. And then I have to press L2 R2 so that I no square so that I can float R2L2 so that I can go to trance and then circle to shoot off. That's too Many fucking buttons.
A
Too much. Too much. So this is you flying up.
B
Yep.
A
And then. Yeah, we, we've gathered ourselves and now we fly.
B
Huh. This is the fast flying. Wow, that's so many buttons
A
now. So as we get towards the end of this part of the gamescast plays, I would love the chat who has played this game. And now I look over at Kevin, Right. We've seen Pearl Abyss on top of the ball. Constant updates, adding things, tweaking things, fixing things for their players. This is just the beginning. As of course the chatter said at the beginning. Right when Mike said old game. No, the game came out March 19th. It's only been about two months maximum. They've added a lot.
B
Yeah.
A
What do you need to have added? What is your desire, Kevin?
B
After 300 hours, I mean, the reality is they don't need anything. The game works perfectly. I've gotten used to all the stupid controls.
A
Yeah.
B
Like there are things that they are adding that I never thought I would care about.
A
Okay.
B
But like the thing I'm about to right now, I've been saving because they just added, hey, you can find a baby wyvern. An egg.
A
Okay.
B
And you hatch that egg and eventually this is gonna be patched in. The dragon will grow to be a full size dragon that you can ride. So I was like, I'm gonna save. Catching the dragon. So this is the dragon nesting area. But yeah, I don't know, I don't like there's.
A
Is it more home ownership? Is it horse battling, duels, jousting? What else is missing here?
B
There is like right now I could take you to an area where there's like a gladiator pit and like no weapons. You just have to bare knuckle it.
A
Yeah, that's it.
B
And that's cool. There's also like a weird poker game, pirate ships. That's an interesting.
A
Jake says, I would like to be fun.
B
I want to own. I want my own castle. Yeah. Just like, I don't know, I'm not playing this game to build. Like I enjoyed building the house.
A
Yeah.
B
And sometimes I like, I bought an extra bed. So now it's like, man, I'd love an extra room to put that bed in.
A
Put that bed in there. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
B
But like I don't think those are necessities. Like as far as the gameplay, like they keep doing little tweaks that are awesome that I'm not even like, oh, you know, I know it needs this like that private storage box.
A
Yeah.
B
That's super minor thing of like, okay. I'll go to two places. Like, yeah, allow me to move it. But if they don't allow me to move it, does this make this any less of a 10? No, no, no.
A
Question for you. I remember people brought up. There's other characters you can play as.
B
Oh, yeah. Never. I don't know.
A
I've been asking.
B
Yeah, I can show you.
A
There is a cast. Right. There's two other people here.
B
Yeah, there they are. Ogre guy. A lady man or not lady. A lady. A lady. She's a lady.
A
And so you've never jumped over And
B
I've done it once or twice.
A
Okay.
B
It's just weird because it's like you set up. Oh, this. They should find a solution for this. If I'm 300 hours in the game, you can't give me a way where I can instantly recharge my thing. Now we just have to wait for 15 seconds.
A
You were saying something about this during the ad break. So what's happening here?
B
I've used all my spirit because it's. It's super helpful for mobility.
A
Yes.
B
Right. I want to go up this mountain, and I want to go up this mountain quick.
A
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
B
But, like, look, I'm still waiting because
A
I'm waiting for this to fully reconnect.
B
Yeah. Fully recharged.
A
Okay. And then you're able to.
B
And now once again, I can double jump that weird way.
A
Okay.
B
And then triple jump.
A
Yeah.
B
Climb. Throw my anchor.
A
Dorifto says yes. This is annoying. Okay.
B
I missed it. I missed it. That was a new one. I was adding a little flourish on there of using my. My arm.
A
We haven't talked about the sticky hand.
B
Yeah.
A
I think that I used to give my hardly and she ate it because it would collect all the lint. What the fuck is the sticky hand?
B
I don't. I mean, I don't use it much. It doesn't get, like. They add stuff where you. There's like a force palm thing that you do in this game.
A
Okay.
B
And some of the things are like, oh, you have to climb the wall. Hold on, and then push the wall here. And it's like they then give you the ability to, like, use the sticky hand to do that. Yeah, that's great. That was a great.
A
Okay, okay.
B
Great, Great thing.
A
Majin Mario writes in and says, crafts spirit, refill food.
B
That's a great.
A
Maybe something to add into your repertoire there.
B
That's a lot of work. Work.
A
Yeah.
B
You know, do I want to do that?
A
June Dao says I just climb with the grappling. Hook over and over and over.
B
Yeah.
A
Okay.
B
Somewhere here is the wyvern's egg.
A
Somewhere here you're gonna look for an egg to try to grab. Is there dragons in the game?
B
Oh, yeah, I have a dragon that you fight, though.
A
I mean, you could choose like, say right now you're trying to catch this dragon egg.
B
Yeah.
A
Let's say a mama dragon shows up. Can you fight that thing?
B
Hold on one second. Is this a spot? Yes, it is a dumb minigame. I don't even think this is where the dragon is.
A
God damn it. Okay, what is this?
B
Oh, it might be, actually. I don't know. I just noticed that there's a discoloration on the wall, which means. Oh, is that an egg right there?
A
Yeah, it looks like some broken eggs here. Wow.
B
It's that easy. It's that easy. Chat.
A
He now has an egg.
B
A dragon egg store.
A
Is it my screen or is this game hella dark? That was very hella dark there.
B
No, it's nighttime.
A
Yeah, yeah, I've just been. Yeah, also it was dark.
B
I have a lantern that I didn't have on. See how much brighter it is.
A
That helps.
B
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. It's. The night and day cycle is a little bit too real.
A
Okay.
B
I'm like, it's nighttime. I can't see as well.
A
The big thing they promoted was the world. You know, the game engine has. The lighting system is outrageous in this. So, yeah, they were really promoting that.
B
Okay, this is good. This is a nest.
A
Okay.
B
We doing this. We're putting this egg in. It might take several minutes.
A
Okay, let's do it. We got time. Let's do it.
B
Well, now I gotta pull it out inventory.
A
So you put that egg in your backpack.
B
Yeah.
A
Okay. Okay. And you're thinking you're gonna put this egg inside of this?
B
I mean, I. I hatched Leopold.
A
Oh, you hatched. So this is how you hatched Leopold the dodo.
B
Yeah, yeah, yeah. So I assume this is how it works.
A
Do you sit on it to keep it warm?
B
No, but I.
A
That would have been a pretty good.
B
I lit Leopold on fire a little bit.
A
Oh, okay.
B
Because I thought that might help.
A
Yeah, yeah. Keep it warm.
B
And I don't know if it did, but he did has.
A
You would sit. You'd press down the sit and just wait. Is what. Essentially, yeah, he's sitting on the egg.
B
Oh, my God. Oh, my God.
A
Oh, my God. This is ridiculous.
B
This is such a good game.
A
I thought he was going to sit next to.
B
No, I did too.
A
And Just stare at it.
B
And my light is illuminating the egg, too.
A
Yeah.
B
Okay, this. This is going to take a while. I've heard it can take.
A
How long?
B
I've heard in world it can take, like, two hours. So, you know, it's moving more than I thought it would be.
A
What, with the light?
B
No, like, do you see the little shaking?
A
Yeah, I see it, like, kind of vibrating and breathing.
B
Yeah. Eventually, what happened? It'll shake more and I'll have the option to, like, help it crack.
A
Okay, this is.
B
I'm gonna have another pet right now.
A
Zeke says it's not that long.
B
Oh, really?
A
It's fast, is what the tiger says.
B
Now, what do we name him?
A
Chad.
B
I've never had a dragon before.
A
You never had a dragon? Now you are a big dune Jabroni. Game of Thrones. Any of those names come. You're usually a family man when it comes to naming stuff. Yeah, but, like, what is the dragon name?
B
I don't know. Name it Mike. Is that a bad idea?
A
I, like, Samantha was pretty good on dragon. Oh, yeah, that's what made me laugh.
B
It could.
A
Samantha. Okay. And so they added this in where. Now this thing is gonna grow with you.
B
Well, so, no, right now it's just a baby wyvern. Oh, Cisco. I got a name. It's Cisco.
A
Cisco the dragon. Who said that?
B
Oh, absolutely. Digital dunce.
A
Digital.
B
You nailed it. You nailed it. That's it. That's the move.
A
It is. Cisco is right. Yeah.
B
Oh, that's brilliant.
A
That's brilliant.
B
So, yeah, right now it just stays a baby. In some future patch, they will make it so that it will start growing and eventually become a mount that you can.
A
Dude, I'm telling you, like, that's what I want in my video game. I want a baby dragon. And your goal is to just, like that trust bar, feed it daily, pet it. It walks with you, and maybe it fights a little bit. And, like, I want this shit to take, like, 10 to 20 hours of, like, baby. Now it's like, that would make me
B
stay in this game.
A
Now it's a bigger baby. Like, yeah, let's take some.
B
So it's already been one hour in world.
A
Okay. Okay. What are you looking for here? Just a breathing to speed up.
B
Oh, I don't know. I'm gonna stand up and turn this light on, because last time it started going red.
A
Okay.
B
Oh, oh, oh. It's ready. It's ready. Always a big moment.
A
Now, I think that, you know, they taught us in Jurassic Park. Don't. Don't pre Hatch it.
B
No, he hatched himself.
A
Holy shit. Oh, my God.
B
Oh, we got a dragon. Is he gonna sit on. My God, is he gonna sit on me? I'll stop moving. I'll stop moving. I'll say. Oh. Oh, my God. Our little Cisco. Come on, come on.
A
There are other birds in the game. Like, yeah, like this.
B
You can. Yeah.
A
You hawker.
B
And you can catch any bird.
A
Stop it.
B
Yeah, but like, you have to do research of like, I don't know what, like snack the birds like.
A
Yeah.
B
And you. So they. Yeah, this thing they introduce, it's like you stake it down and you can put food that the birds like.
A
And the bird would come to that.
B
Yeah.
A
Okay.
B
So if you want, we can go catch an eagle.
A
I was expecting you to just put your arm out and this wyvern will land on it.
B
Yeah, but I don't know. That's not a button that I could see.
A
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
B
Pets.
A
Baby Wyvern says now this is what I want out of GTA 6. Exactly.
B
Honestly. Yeah, like, this is.
A
This is the type of shit, when you look at this, you go, okay, GTA 6. We've waited for 13 years. I expect systems like this in the game. Right. Or like from now on, Skyrim, Baldur's Gate.
B
Which.
A
Which O for the dragon.
B
Right. Doesn't it have a little look up Cisco, really quick? That's a good question.
A
I don't know.
B
I think it has a little tilde of sorts.
A
Unleash the dragon. It's going this way.
B
Okay, excellent. I love that we have that, right? We have that option.
A
We have double check.
B
Wow, this is very exciting. Now do I have to get a little necklace for Cisco? Oh, wait, did I ever give the necklace to. I did, right? I gave the necklace to Thomas.
A
Yes, you did.
B
Okay. I think I have one more necklace in my house. So back to my home.
A
Oh, okay. You have another one?
B
Yeah. Because if I give him that necklace, then he'll sit on my shoulder.
A
Now, Dustin does say you do raise a pet in Baldur's Gates. Well, if you don't kill it. Oh, that's pretty sick. That's pretty sick.
B
I wouldn't know. I'd never played.
A
I don't know.
B
Yeah.
A
Roger killed everybody in our playthrough.
B
Why would he do that?
A
He was just so excited. He was so excited.
B
Kevin has played 300 hours straight to jail. I don't know what that means.
A
Straight to jail. I don't know what that means. He's having a blast. And that's what it's all about. Of course this has been your Gamescast plays. Kevin has shown you 300 plus hours of Crimson desert what it can look like for your playthrough. And some of course down in the comments below. Let us know how long have you been playing? How many days are you in in world? Do you have a home? Do you have a pet dragon?
B
Can you move your your private storage?
A
Move this private storage for Kevin. Or do you have a dodo bird or maybe a polar bear? Let us know in the comments below as Kevin grabs this necklace to put on his wyvern before we walk away here. He's looking for it right now.
B
I think I have another one.
A
He's double checking really quick.
B
It'd be a little cat. Ah, there it is.
A
And you're gonna put this on the dragon.
B
Yeah.
A
All right. We're gonna watch that.
B
I'm also gonna. I think I can put some of these things on the cat so I'm gonna grab them too.
A
Okay.
B
Okay. I don't know if I can put it on the dragon.
A
We're gonna find out. We'll find out. The dragon's right there. Yeah, yeah.
B
And then we go to inventory. Yeah. None of the stuff goes on them.
A
Okay.
B
That's a bummer.
A
Kevin will have to go explore.
B
See this bummer
A
now. Kind of funny games. It was answered. You can move the private storage after beating the game.
B
Awesome. Great.
A
Kevin will have to play the great.
B
I have to beat the game Kevin's currently. It's not good enough that I put 300 hours in.
A

Main Theme: Deep-dive reflections on Crimson Desert after Kevin’s marathon 300+ hour journey—exploring the open world, gameplay quirks, pets and mounts, home customization, and what makes the game so addictively compelling.
This episode is a celebration—and slight roast—of excessive gameplay, as Kevin Coelho shares his experiences putting 305 hours (~13 days) into Crimson Desert. The conversation explores what makes the game’s open world so immersive, why the progression and customization systems reward such a huge time sink, how the mechanics stand out (or stumble), and the sheer joy of endless discovery, collecting, and self-driven goals.
"If I had just done nothing for two weeks, including not sleeping, this would have been it. That's how much I would have played."
— Kevin, [02:13]
"I've only looked up spoilers on where to find gear and stuff, not the story... ask me one question about the story, I won't know the answer."
— Kevin, [04:09]
"There are so many moments where you get up to a cliff, and maybe 20 dudes are shooting cannons at an island with a giant serpent on it."
— Kevin, [08:50]
"To fly, I have to double press square twice at the right cadence, then R3 three times, then L2/R2, then circle to shoot off... that's too many fucking buttons."
— Kevin, [48:18]
"My bow and arrow has a 40% chance of not consuming arrows, stacked with 60%—so I have 100% infinite arrows. On top of that, attack increasers and a crit rate booster."
— Kevin, [22:17]
"Do you want to see my pool?... Full of squid. Any fish you want, you can put them in there."
— Kevin, [39:10]
"These people are brilliant. Any game they put out, regardless of genre, I'll at least try."
— Kevin, [16:23]

Immersive, Limitless, and Wildly Varied:
The episode is a love letter to sandbox gameplay and "player-first" content design. Crimson Desert emerges as a fantasy playground both for min-maxers and casual wanderers—while playstyle flexibility (be it completionist, collector, builder, or explorer) is front-and-center.
But It’s Not for Everyone:
Steep controls, dense menus, and a largely ignorable (if lengthy) story certainly won’t appeal to all—but Kevin’s glee is infectious, and Mike’s awe at what’s possible underscores why such games capture hundreds of hours.
"Let us know how long you've been playing, how many days are you in, do you have a home, do you have a pet dragon?"
— Mike, [60:19]
If you love open-world games that let you do (almost) anything, Crimson Desert looks like your next great obsession—and this episode is a hilarious, passionate ode to the many ways to play.
