I was like, what does that mean? And then he pulls into the parking lot right next to me as I'm recording a Greg Way. And he just looks at me and says, hey, Slap, you got to do games daily. I'm like, why are you here? Like, why don't you communicate any of this? And like, why didn't you tell me in it? But no, of course he comes in, does like two days of shows and then he shows. No, he does.

We're already making the decision for half a day of work to really just give Mike not three days off, but we have to deal with three days of Mike being gone. Yeah, right. Picking up the slack and figuring all that stuff. But then if he gets sick and it's another fucking six days.

Okay. The title is the Final Fantasy Tactics Remake. Remake. That's interesting. They say that is a full rebuild because the original code was overwritten. They go on to list from an interview with the director, Kazitoyo Mahiro, who then says, this was simply the norm at the time, talking about how the game was overwritten. We didn't have the kind of effective resource management tools available today, and we developed games by essentially overriding the previous code. Each time we fixed a bug or added a new language, goes on to say, since the classic version was intended to recreate the original game, we did have the option to implement using an emulator. He continues, however, this method wouldn't have allowed us to make granular refinements, even if the objective was to recreate the original game. After our analysis, we felt the best way to ensure the game met modern playability standards while staying true to the original was to rebuild it. Hold on.

And then, Barrett, if you want to show the images, the first one, if you click on that, that is, I believe, from the creator of Fantasy Critic. I'm getting a bunch of requests telling me to up this to a remake. I'm open to partial remake at least. Unfortunately, I don't know this game. Well, I think partial remake makes sense. I hate you, Mike. That goes. My take is it should be a partial remake. That feel right?

Then he responds, a day later, two days later, it is done. That's exciting. But then some people in the community saw. They figured it out. So shout out to Fresh Dandruff and Retro Rat said, heist of the century. I said, please be cool about it. Lol. I was very scared. And then Retro Rat says, tastemaker. More like cheat taker. Am I right? Just kidding. You rule. We'll be cool. So shout out to y'. All. Shout out to seeing this and keeping this on the DL, because this was the heist of the century. This was a huge moment, and they were gonna change it anyways. If you look through the Discord chat, if me and Mike didn't show up, they weren't. We weren't like the defining moment where it's like, oh, Snowbug, Mike came in here, he said, man, that sounds right to me. And then we changed it. No. If you look through it, they were gonna change it, but, you know, we just wanted to be there.

No, I think, I think the people who are going to review this are people who love Final Fantasy Tactics and they're going to play this and they're going to be like, there's better ways to play this game where the art style, like, you get the original art style and all that stuff. I think people are going to play this and be really thrown off by the art style and how it looks and shit, and they're not going to be happy about it.

Barrett is on to something. Having said that, I do think there's quality of life stuff gameplay wise, that I expect this game to add that. I just, I'm leaning more towards that eight mid-80s.
