Doing pretty good.
C
I'm looking at this fantasy critic, and I'm not feeling great.
D
No.
C
Can't wait to get into it.
B
Here's what I'll say, right? I feel like there's a different type of energy because none of our bosses are here.
C
Yeah.
B
Greg's out. Tim's been gone. Is that. I can never tell you. If Nick's here, who knows?
F
Now Andy should be feeling a little worried because he is projected last place.
B
I thought I was projected last place, right.
F
As of right now, and he's projected seventh place.
B
I'm projected eighth.
F
Oh, shucks. Then you're good. You're fine.
B
Oh, God. Interesting. That's not Greg's music.
C
No.
B
Yeah. Ah.
C
Oh, man. I don't trust when Bear tries to be funny.
F

C
Nice.
D
Heart attack, man.
B
Is this going to get us taken down?
D
No, I tested it.
B
It shouldn't be perfect.
F
Good music.
D
Here's the thing. If y' all missed it, at the beginning of the year, I declared that I was going to be evil for 2026 for my fantasy Critic league team, because I discovered from my loss last year that only evil wins. That's what. That's what I learned from Mike beating me in Fantasy critic last year.
C
We're cheating.
D
And
B
to my haters out there, I.
D
I hear on the streets that, you know, it really just seems like bears just living his normal life and just, you know, tagging the. The word evil next to it, you know, to them, I say, you're right. You're right. I haven't really been doing much, you know? And honestly, it's one of those things.
B
I don't feel like my heart has
D
been fully into the evil tag. So it's like I just. I don't know. I'm thinking about dropping the whole evil bit.
B
Let's be real good Barrett.
D
Maybe just normal Barrett. Who knows? You know? And, like, I'll be real. Like, the. The reason I interrupted the show was actually not to do Anything evil, and I'll actually, like, bring myself down. I just thought it would be fun to interrupt in a very bombastic way. You know, I was actually just told that we got a lot of really kind messages from people who enjoy our fantasy critic. Oh, nice content. So, yeah, honestly, I'm, Yeah, actually just interrupting the show just to do, actually, something nice and kind. So, yeah, without further ado, I'll just roll these clips. I have no idea what. What we got, but I'm excited to show it off.
B
Yeah, really cool.
H
Hi there, Roger. It's me, Ben Starr. I just want to nip on here and congratulate you for making the correct choice and deciding that Barrett Courtney is, in fact, your best friend. In your words, Roger Barrett Courtney is the kind of man that you want to wear as a coat 24 7. Even when it's boiling hot outside, you want to show him off to. He's the kind of person that you want to wear to a gala balls. Everyone goes, who are you wearing, Roger? And you always say with great confidence, why, I'm wearing Barrett Courtney, of course. My great, great friend, Roger. Congratulations. Have an amazing day and once again, enjoy having Barrett Courtney, the greatest of men, as your best friend.
F
That's lovely.
E
Hey, this message is for Roger Piccorni. This is Nick Scarpino.
F
First off, thank you guys so much
C
for being a huge friend of mine.
B
And I understand there's congratulation.
F
Congratulations, because you have officially picked Barrett
B
to be your best friend Barrett Courtney. And that's. I think that's. I think that's so cool.
F
It's great that you got Barrett. It's great that you guys are locked in.
B
I'm super excited to see your future together as besties.
F
Truly messed up. Roger's not here.
C
Yeah. Just wanted to say. Oh, wow. Chris Anka. And truly just wanted to, like, you
B
know, let you know how thoughtful of
C
a best friend he is and how kind of much he.
F
How much is the Chris Hanker cameo
C
and having, you know, 70 bucks.
F
Gotta be extensive.
C
And really to see you glow with having Barrett is now your best friend compared to your old best friends, who are really, you know, truly lame and we should forget about them. Hey, Roger. It's me, Andy.
B
Oh, it's Andy.
C
Oh, Andy. Barrett Courtney, your best friend wants me to let you know how happy and grateful he is to be your 1.1 and 1.2 best friend. And that's awesome. So congratulations on having such a great friendship. He says two dudes rocking with attitude is what he wrote here. So That's.
B
Wow.
C
I love that you guys got a little cool thing. I've been Andy, and you've just been AF'd.
D
Roger, what's up? It's Tony Hawk. Holy.
F
Actually, Tony Hawk, man.
D
Finally, it's your best friend. And nothing could come between you guys, especially when you're the number one duo.
B
Kind of funny.
D
And so go onward now that you can freely admit to your relationship. And good luck with your fancy league and whatever else, but really good luck more with. With your futures.
F
Oh, that's together.
D
Oh, thank you, BFFs. It's beautiful. And good luck on everything else. And if either of you have a
F
skateboard, should ask Tony who's his best friend. Thank you, Muska.
C
Bob Reynolds.
B
I feel like if you keep naming people from the original Tony Hawk, it's not gonna go. I don't know about that. Wow, that was really beautiful. I like this new neutral, Barrett.
F
Yeah, it's pretty much stuff that Roger skipped this podcast, I think.
B
I think Nacho Roger caught wind that this.
F
Oh, Roger's never apprecia.
D
Never forget, Mike. I am Roger's best friend now.
F
See, it's Monday morning. I'm coming off of a great weekend. Yeah, I'm in a flow state right now.
B
I don't trust what's happening, and I
F
should step up and let everybody know that I am the reigning champion. And I should probably allow for a little bit of, like, energy here, but I'm not. I'm having too good of a day. Just know that I'm here, I'm present.
B
I don't know what that means.
C
Yeah, I don't know what you mean.
B
Let's get into it. Of course. This is kind of funny. Game names. Cass, if you're watching live, you can be a part of the show by super chatting in over on YouTube.com kindafunnygames remember, we couldn't do this without our producers over on patreon.com kindafunny so thank you to Carl Jacobs, Omega Buster, and Delaney the Psalm Twining. For now, let's begin with topic of the show. Today's topic, of course, if you haven't caught wind of it yet, it is the Fantasy Critic. Check in. Of course, at the top of the year, we do a draft where we each form a publisher. We draft games that are coming out over the course of the year to that publisher and whichever team has the highest cumulative Metacritic scores or not. Metacritic Open critic. The other critic aggregator wins. The Fantasy Critic. Here's what I'll say. I want to Say two things to start this off. One, I don't like how good Ben Starr looks. You're at home. Why are you that good looking and you're at home? You know what I mean? Like, he just wakes up. Like, hair should be disheveled.
C
So handsome.
B
Wearing a nice sweater. So really handsome. Man two. Damn, that's crazy. Putting Nick Scarpino. Roger Ben Starr. That's tough to follow up.
C
That's a rough one.
B
It's kind of rough, yeah. Nick would say that to you.
C
That Pepsi coke challenge was like a Coke oil challenge.
B
Now, this is what I want. Of course. Super chat in. I want to know who you think is taking it home. We're going to go through each of the rosters on our fans critic, talk about them, break them down, see where we're at. Let us know in the super chats. Who do you think, based off of the rosters currently is going to take it home? Before we get into it, get into it, I want to talk about some history. All right, you go into the fantasy critic page for our league. There's a little history tab that'll tell you what have been the latest moves, what's been happening in the fantasy critic. I want to take you back to the week, actually. Which week do I want to. Let's take you back to the week of February 28th. I think that's.
C
I. I want to say my birthday month.
B
Oh, happy, happy birthday.
C
Thank you.
B
Happy late birthday. I want to say that was like, after our last critic check in, because I feel like I talked about denture tech. Dent attack was like one of my latest big pickups, and that was on the week of February 21st. So let's hop forward one week. February 28th, 2026, Barrett in parentheses, evil, picked up a game called raccoin. Coin pusher, roguelike.
D
Now we don't need to talk about how much I spent on that.
B
Barrett bid $40 on raccoon. There are no competing bids.
F
Sometimes you got a little raccoon.
C
Sometimes, hey.
D
Sometimes you look at how much money does Roger have left.
C
Put your money where you look at
D
a game like raccoon. You're like. That might, you know, send off some synapses in Roger's brain that he might bid for that.
C
You could see one. You could see other people's money.
F
Yeah, of course.
B
Yeah. Oh, yeah. You can see how many. How much money they have left. Yeah.
D
So, you know, maybe I put a little too much weight on, like, how crazy Roger's gonna get and then not at all with with a game. But again, that's a part of. You know, it's just a part of being evil.
B
Was this after Lucy's preview? Like, when. Why'd you bid for Rat Coin?
D
We had talked about it on one of those, like, every game coming out in the following month, and people had played, like, demos of Rat Coin and were, like, really hot on it, really talking about, like, hey, it's hitting those, like, balatro kind of things in people's brain. And I was like, oh, damn. And it's published by playstack, which also published Palatro, the. One of those detective puzzle games that we like. Bless.
B
Case of Golden Idol.
D
Case of Golden Idol and all that. And I was like, this might have the sauce now. Did that pay out? We'll talk about that later.
C
Stunning lack of raccoons, people said. Oh, and the reviews.
B
Yeah, that's unfortunate. Let's hop forward to the week of March 14th. Quite a few things happened this day. Ecto One Games, aka Greg Miller, bid for a game called Echoes of Aincrad.
C
What the fuck is that?
B
I have no idea. We're going to have to look into this. He bid $5 on it. He was able to pick it up because he had no competing bids for it. This says the projected points for this 94. What is. Well, we'll get into that in a sec. Maybe we'll get to that when we. When we go over Greg's thing. But Echoes of Aincrad, I'm not familiar with that.
F
The Bandai Namco game.
B
Okay, okay.
C
Little anime one.
F
Mike, I think you can probably guess what it is. Yeah.
B
Okay. That same week, Barrett in parentheses, evil bid for a game called Titanium Core.
D
Well, before we even get to the.
C
Also knows the award winner, that one thing that always wins awards. What's that one? What's the one? No, like, whenever there's like a.
B
At the. GDC.
C
What's it called?
B
Yeah. Seamus McNally Award. But I think I was the last. I was the latest Seamus McNally because I picked up. Oh, what game? Me. It was the game that was about, like, being ugly.
D
It was like the girl who like salt.
B
Consume me.
D
Consume me.
B
I picked up Consume Me last year, and let me tell you, that didn't consume that many points. My pain is a critic. But bear, you wanted to point out.
C
Yeah.
D
Before we even got to mine, you know, another bid went through as well.
B
Yes. Paris bid on call of duty 2026. Was able to pick it up. Bid $5 for it. Paris, what caused you to go for this? 1.
G
This is supposed to be the year for Call of Duty. This is supposed to be the rumored. What was it, Modern Warfare 4. Kind of a return to form. So, you know, taking a little bit of risk.
B
Okay.
G
Low cost risk.
B
I love.
F
We say that every year.
C
It's always, this is the year, man.
F
I'm here. It's like July, man. This is the year. Call of Duty's back, everybody.
C
This is the year. They're. They're going to take it back to basics. It's a return of form.
G
I figure for five bucks, why not? That's why I only bid five bucks. Take a. Take a shot.
F
I like that.
B
What was the last Call of Duty game? Was that Black Ops 7?
C
Black Ops 7?
F
7.
B
7.
F
6 was the good one. 7 was not the one.
G
Yeah, yeah, yeah. 7 wasn't good.
F
7 felt like a DLC.
B
Yeah. If I'm looking at the track record, 7 did 65 on Open Critic 6. Hold on. I just typed in 7.
C
6. I'm gonna guess in 83.
F
6 was high. 6 was one of their best.
B
6. 83 in our Metacritic game for game showed. You would have got double the points there. That's crazy. Okay, so Paris, do you think we're back to an 83 this year? Do you think it's another Black Ops 6 type moment?
G
Yeah, that's my thought. I think it's going to be in the 80s and fingers crossed, so we'll see. But what the hell, you know, if it's not, I'll drop it in June when they show it.
C
Why not?
F
Yeah.
B
What is it? So we're saying Modern Warfare is. This here is.
F
That's the room.
G
That's the rumor.
C
Is this Infinity Ward?
G
I think so, yes.
F
Because Raven does warzone, right?
C
Okay.
F
Yeah.
B
All right. And then we're back to Barrett. Barrett, Evil picked up Titanium Court. You bid. Wait, you bid 40 bucks on titanium Court? Where are you getting all this money from again?
D
Well, I, I. Most of my team was filled up with only 90 bucks. So there was one weekend, like, if we go back even further, I'm pretty sure it was even like way earlier. There was one week, I think I. Yeah, I bid for the unannounced Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time remake with a bit of $2.
B
Okay.
D
The God of War Greek project with a bit of $2 and I think another week. I had drafted the Black Flag unannounced at the time. Black Flag remake for only two bucks as well. So I still had a good amount of money with most of My team.
B
Phil, Bear, bring up some gameplay of Titanium Core, because I want to know what you see in this. But it's crazy. The 40 bucks.
F
You're like, bear, Mali one.
C
Yeah, it won this year.
B
Oh, it won this year.
D
It won this year. And, yeah, a lot of people, when I was hanging out, I bid it the week of gdc, because a lot of people were just like, I didn't even, like, know that it won the award, but people were just talking about, like, oh, this Titanium Court thing is. Looks awesome. It's like a match three with, like, silly Roguelite.
C
Got a good comedy.
D
Yeah. And it's like, like, also presented as, like, a theater play thing, but it's also got, like, really silly and funny writing. Like, I think that's gonna be one
B
that hits my man. This is my wish list. Yeah. The Steam description is very short. Just says, a surreal strategy game for clowns and criminals. Welcome to Titanium Court. Table for one. You have a. You have a reservation. I assume you don't. I see. Just minding your own business before stumbling into a realm of magic and fairies, were you. Not to worry. Happens all the time. Tell you what, why don't. Why don't I see if we can squeeze you in somewhere while you become acquainted with many amenities offered by the court. They got a quirky energy here to the page.
D
Yep.
B
Which I like.
D
And again, when you look at, you know, how much Roger has in his bank account, and you're thinking, like, man, I got more money than that. Maybe I outbid him because I don't know what he's hearing on the streets. I know he's out.
B
You're gunning for him.
C
What's going on?
B
Bears like Drake, and that's what best money.
D
That's what I've learned from Mike. Like, best friends put their best friends down.
F
I do that against Roger all the time. That's why we're insider trading with one another. Nobody knows that yet, but we will be trading teams.
B
I'm going to ask you. Well, you're trading teams, we'll be trading games.
F
The goal is to make sure Roger's champion this year. And so I'll be trading.
B
You're not allowed to do.
D
You're going to. You're going to trade him. Your teams are allowed.
C
Nobody knows.
B
I mean, trades are telling us, right? Like, collusion is against the spirit of the game.
C
Yeah, well, yeah.
F
I mean, you have to pick up the phone to call another person to trade and say, hey, what can I trade you?
C
All right, yeah.
B
You know what?
F
I mean, that excuses the way how
D
we insider trade, you know, excuses everything, you know.
B
We then hop forward a week to March 21, 2026. Only one game was picked up this week. It was from Ecto One Games, aka Greg Miller. In that game, Minecraft Dungeons 2, he bid $6 for it. We think that's a good one.
F
Good game.
B
What are Minecraft Dungeons do? That's what I want to know. Yeah, I don't think it's super.
G
Yeah, okay. Yeah, I didn't think it was in the 80s. I think it's in the 70s. I liked it, but I think it's a 70 score.
B
Open Critic says Minecraft Dungeon 74.
C
Yeah.
G
Yeah.
C
Lessons learned. They're going to get better.
B
I mean. Yeah, I don't think. I don't think they put out Minecraft Dungeons. And it does worse, right?
F
Yeah, but I don't think it goes like high 80s here. I think that's 82 or below.
C
Well, then solid points. That's a.270 hitter right there, Mike.
F
Wait. Yeah, but we made the rule if you want to win, it's got to be 15 or above.
B
And then we. Which I got beef with for one of my picks, but I'll get there later. We hop forward to the week of March 28th, this last week. And one game was picked up by Ecto one Games, AKA Greg Miller. That game, tomodachi Life. He's active, living the dream. He spent 15 bucks on it. I think it's a good pick. Again, I don't think it's gonna be like 90s, anything like that, of course, but play that demo. It's a good demo. This game is gonna be a fun one. I think it's gonna be a hit.
C
It's gonna hit with that certain crowd for sure.
B
Yes.
C
The people playing it know what they. The people playing and reviewing it, like, are like. It's in good company, you know, 100%.
B
So this is where we go roster by roster, break down what people have in their teams. Let's start. Let's go from the bottom up. All right? And we're gonna go by actual points, which is different from projected points, of course. Projected is what the system thinks are going to land at at the end of the year, which right now I'm projected last. Paris was. Oh, right now Paris, for actual points, is going to be projected last if we go by the points people have right now. So, Paris, break down. Break down your team for us right now.
G
Here I. It's tiny on my screen. Let me bring it up on my screen so I can see. Yeah. So I, I took Batman, which I realize in hindsight isn't the highest of scores, but it's a fun. I, I think the Lego Batman is going to be a fun ass game. So we'll see.
C
Should we start off. Should we start off with like the game that gave you points? Just so people like right off the top, here's what gave me points and then we'll. And then the rest of the roster.
B
Okay. Okay.
G
Well, we're doing that. I did high on life too, which only got a 73. I'm surprised. I thought that was going to be a little higher on that. I enjoyed the first one. So that was a strikeout and that's the only game I have points on so far. I am pretty backloaded for everything else coming out the rest of the year, so we'll see. But like I said, Lego Batman. I mean, I think it'll do decent, but maybe not as high as I was expecting. I have a lot of faith in Control Resident. I think that's going to be.
B
That's gonna be a banger for you for sure.
C
Yeah, yeah. Let me predict right now. Let me predict right now for you right here. Paris 88.
B
I was gonna say 90. Yeah, yeah.
G
I think, I think high 80s could, could sneak into the 90s. That's where I think it'll be. Gear Z Day. Some Hopium. I mean obviously Microsoft is going to make a big deal out of it. Xbox will make a big deal out of it. How does it score? How does the story, the campaign work? We. But I, I think mid-80s around there somewhere do.
B
What are the chances? I know it's at the end of the Dev direct, which means it's probably going to come out this year, but do you think it comes out this year? Gear. Gear Z Day?
G
I do. I think Mike's the one that's in trouble.
A
We.
G
We'll get to that later.
B
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
F
The Four Horsemen here might become the Three Horsemen.
C
One of the horse broke a leg.
F
One of them might be 20, 27 here.
G
Dust bloods. You know, I took a swing. We'll see. I mean that one might not score as much as I wanted to.
F
Do we see that?
G
I think so.
F
Do we see Dust Bloods this summer at a Jeff Keighley event?
B
I think so, yes.
C
Because it'll come out by before the end of the year.
F
Yeah, it will be this year.
C
You think? I mean that's what all of their sort of internal, their, their investor calls are. Okay.
F
Okay.
B
I don't know if it'll be a Jeff's thing, but like a Nintendo Direct, I could see. Okay.
G
And then Blood of the Dawn Walker, I'm taking a leap of faith. I like what I've seen so far from it. Former CD Projekt Red devs making that, that, that vampire RPG Open world rpg. So we'll see on that as well. And then we already talked about Call of Duty and I have some open slots, which I'm kind of waiting to see what gets announced in June and would hopefully, you know. And plus I got a ton of money, so I think I'll make some late game pickups. So we'll see.
F
Yeah. The positive for Paris here is a lot of people have filled up their team or have gotten to the point where they don't have much room, but Paris has a lot of space here to maybe grab some games that are second half announced, second half facing that a lot of us have not. I'm surprised with how many people kind of filled up their team similar to me.
G
Yeah, essentially one last year. Isn't that how you won last year, Mike? You got a lot of late pickups, right?
F
Yes, exactly.
G
Yeah.
B
Yes.
F
I listen to the audience.
B
The strategy. The strategy with Fantasy Critic, I think is to wait. And I, I, but. And I think that we suck at it because we get so excited. You know what I mean? We see potential win a game. Like I, that's me with Densha Attack, where I played the demo, and I was like, this is awesome. And I merely bid for it. But then, like in the summer, fucking, I don't know, like, they're going to announce Astrobot 2 or something. I'm like, oh, damn it. You know what I mean? Like, I, I think that tends to bite us in the ass a lot more than we tend to remember year to year. All right, coming in at seventh place with actual points, that's the points we have currently is Sad Boy.
C
Barrett.
B
Barrett. Hello. Break down your squad for us.
D
Yeah, so the things that have come out so far this year, we have God of War, Sons of Sparta, which lost me points. Lost me points. But we'll circle back around to that later and talk about how I'll take that trade on getting hit with points. But then the next thing that just came out was rat coin, coin pusher, Roguelike, which, yeah, that $40 bid maybe did not pay off as much as I was hoping for because that only got me 10 points. I was really thinking that this was going to be like another indie game moment. With like doing like trying to do coin pusher gameplay with like a rog like system, which it does seem to be hitting for a lot of people. But right now it's doesn't have a lot of reviews. It's a lot of like indie sites right now. So kind of a mixed bag for, for some people. So that puts me at a total net positive of six points.
C
Looks like YouTube is down right now.
D
YouTube is down.
B
Oh yeah, I know this happened during KGD for a second too.
C
Oh, really?
B
Yeah, they'll, they'll come back.
D
Interesting. I don't see anything on my end,
B
but we will here as you're, as you're looking into that. I'll, I'll talk about some of these other games because your full list, you have your full team filled out here going from top to bottom. You got Marvel's Wolverine, Hollow Knight, Silk Song, Sea of Sorrow, Phantom Blade, Zero Mouse, PI for Hire, which has been counterpicked. Pragmata, Assassin's Creed, Black Flag, Resynced, God of War, Sons, Faro, which you talked about. You have unannounced, the Legend of Zelda Ocarina remake, which is really interesting. And then, yeah, you have Raccoon and Titanium Court. They're back.
D
Everybody's back. I did not see anything on my end, so that it might seem like a YouTube issue today, which will be fun. So yeah, to, to go back to God of War, Sons of Sparta, which, yeah, I think I had picked up or I had to have picked up before it was announced because it was shadow dropped. Right. You know, I was, we'd been hearing about, you know, this Metroidvania God of War game for a while and before it was announced. Right. I think if you asked any of us of like, oh, a Metroidvania God of War game? Like, hell yeah, that's, that's got a hit. Right. And then it gets announced. It's, you know, being made by a team that's not within Sony Santa Monica, which I, I guess I, I kind of assumed it would have been. And so yeah, that, that, that hit me with some, some negative points there. But I will take that trade because the game I have counterpicked Pokemon wins and waves. Seeing that a little bit, it was like, oh shit, this game looks real good. But it's not out until next year. So I'd rather get a, like a hit on a couple of points with one game that was like a solid fine Metroidvania rather than counter picking Pokemon. And then that being like a negative like 13 or something like that. Right. So I'll take that trade because I don't. All of the rest of these games I don't think are going to lose me points. How much they get me though, we'll have to wait and see. I do think Titanium Court is going to hit. I know Consume Me last year didn't review as well as you would have thought. Bless originally, but people are really high off of the demo of Titanium Court. It winning the Seamus McNally Award as well. It being this like really weird looking game but really funny and quirky I think is going to hit for people. Same with games like Mouse PI for Hire I think will do solid for me. Same with a Prague Mata.
B
You have a pretty good, good lineup here.
D
Yeah, I think the, the biggest, the weakest link I see on my lineup for games that have not come out is Black Flag resynced and that's mainly because, you know, there's the like leak that it was supposed to come earlier this year and then got delayed and I think a mix with that where Ubisoft is as a, as a company.
B
The fact that they canceled Prince of Persia.
D
The fact that they canceled Prince of Persia and then they announced this game as like a weird like blog post with like art that if you told me was from the original game, I would have just been like, oh yeah, that's from the original. Right. So like I think that's my biggest weak link in terms of like, does this actually come this year? We'll see. I still have 10 bucks on the board so you know, maybe some, some room to, to drop and pick something else small. That's up. But I'm feeling good about picking up Ocarina of Time remake, let me tell you.
B
Well, I want to talk about that because dose of nostalgia in the super chat says Barrett picked Ocarina of Time before the rumor dropped. What does he know?
D
See, you know, the Ocarina remake has been wanted, not even rumored, but like wanted from people for, for so long. And it was near the beginning this year. I want to say February. I'm thinking about it and like I'm in the shower, I'm thinking about it. Just thinking about Zelda.
B
About Zelda in the shower.
D
Yeah, just like as one does, I'm thinking like this is the 40th anniversary and they dropped the ball on the 35th. Like that's crazy to me. Like they got ahead and like they've been doing this thing where they've released some sort of Zelda project every year. I'm like, what could they do for the 40th? It's such a big anniversary. And I was thinking, oh, you know what, it's interesting, that LEGO collab that they just announced. And it could have been any game and honestly it would have made more sense to do another follow up on like a Breath of the Wild, Tears of the Kingdom Lego thing. But no, what was. Was the final boss of Ocarina of Time. And that's where like the puzzle pieces started clicking in. I was like, what if this is like a slow build up to them actually, like releasing this and revealing this and all this stuff. So, you know, that's. That's my half court shot there. And that's why I bid only two bucks on it at the beginning of February, because I was like, I could see the vision here of them releasing it this year. Well, who knows?
C
Yeah, it's definitely like for people in chat, wondering, you know. But you're talking about the. The leak that happened. Yes, like this apparent leak from Nate the Hate.
B
Yeah. In the last few weeks.
C
But this thing has been rumored for a while. Yeah.
B
But I think it's been more predicted than anything. I think we've been like, like willing it.
D
It's been like hoping type of thing.
B
Yeah. But I think this is the first time where it's actually been like, no, I've heard they're actually making this thing.
D
And Nate the Hate has in the past said, like, has not heard anything about this. Has been like, has tried to dispel rumors of the Ocarina of Time remake. And this is them finally being like, this is what I've heard hidden. It is hidden this year. So I'm feeling good about that. That the other games. Who knows? Black Flag resync I think Black Flag is somewhere in like the mid-80s, like most Assassin's Creeds. We'll see if that game comes out. We'll see if that hits. Pragmata I'm feeling a little excited about just because of the recent previews. People being like, game looks cool. And then the rest, Mouse PI I think might do solid for me. But Phantom Blade Zero, Hollow Knight, Silksong and Marvel's Wolverine, I'm feeling good about those. Feeling real good about this.
B
Mike, I want to get you off the bench because we got to talk about your roster. But before we do, I want to talk to you about patreon.com kind of funny and YouTube.com kind of funny games where you can go and get the kind of funny membership which allows you to get shows ad free and Speaking of ads, let us tell you about our sponsors.

Actually, screw it. I'll just tell you right now. You know how you've been to ask me to watch the Michael Jordan documentary series the Last Last Dance? Yeah. So this weekend I watched the Lamar Odom documentary oh My God, that's right
F
on par right there.
B
Have you seen this? Have you heard about this guy, Lamar Odom?
C
I mean, I'm well aware of this
B
guy was wilding out.
C
I'm well aware of the trouble. I was going crazy. Yeah.
B
If you've seen that documentary, he took 12. That's crazy. He took 12 dick pills.
C
Damn.
B
And like almost died. It was like crazy. Scary story. I didn't know he was like that though. Yeah, that was wild times.
F
The first 11 don't work.
B
Yeah, I don't know. That's true. Mike, tell me about your. Your cheating ass roster.
F
Yeah, bless. Let's return to the, of course returning champion, your boy Snow Bike Mike. Team Snowbike Mike, number one as of right now. Of course, as many of you know, I thought it would be a fun gag if I selected my entire team week one. I pulled Roger aside. He said, mike, that would be bad for the content. Please don't do it. I said, roger, let's do it. So I drafted my entire team all week one and I feel very confident about this team. It has not started well, but we'll talk about that in just a moment. Of course, the people that have scored for me, Super Meat Boy 3D got 75 on OpenCritic giving me only 5 points. This is a Rainbow Six extraction situation. Again, there's no world that Super Meat Boy 3D is a 75 game.
B
I mean we both gave it minimum, we both gave it an eight.
D
And I don't think like someone giving it a seven is that different.
F
You know, a lot of twos out there. Are there a lot of two twos out of one?
B
There's some twos out of ten or five.
F
There's some twos out there.
B
Two out of five or two out
F
of ten Meat Boy hates. And I don't know about that now.
B
Now I'm going to the Medicare game.
F
It's a good game. Another game that has not scored me points yet. But we're going to give it some time because eventually people will get to it. Ghost of Yote Legends. I took this one on a chance, hoping that there would be a little more, a little more energy for it. Nobody has seemed to play this game. I guess we have been lost in the crossfire of all these other games. But as of right now, Ghost Fiote Legends has not scored for me. And then of course, World of Warcraft Midnight has scored 83, getting me 13 points. Now of course, if you knew this before, 83 is probably where it was. I was hoping for 85. So 83 is what I deserve, that's what I get. I was hoping for 85, but I'll take the 83. I counterpicked dust Bloods hoping that it does not come out this year. So we'll see if that happens or not. Rounding up my Squad, Forza Horizon 6. We will see that right around the corner next month. Yeah.
C
92. Yeah, yeah, easy.
F
I'm hoping for 94. I want this to be the highest scoring racing game ever.
B
Damn.
C
Damn.
F
I think that's the juice. I mean last one was a game of the year contender.
B
Yeah, that's one one game of the year IGN.
F
Yeah, so I chose that over GTA 6, mind you.
B
Yeah, right. I would do that too.
F
The first pick problem. And then I went with the Adventures of Elliot. The millennial tale. A lot of people made fun of Elliot in his hat.
C
Stupid ass.
F
We'll see what happens. Vampire Crawlers. I have faith in right there. Halo Campaign Evolved Fable.
C
Well, let's not go best. Halo Campaign Evolved. Yeah, what about it is like one
F
of the best sci fi stories ever written.
B
Okay.
C
Are we expecting like it's actually like
F
is it gonna happen type in Halo campaign. Halo Combat Evolved. Tell me what he got. I expect 85 minimum. It was a no, 85 minimum.
G
I. I think that's too high, Mike.
C
It was a different time, man.
B
Yeah, the Halo Combat evolved, it's a 97.
F
97. I'm metacritic.
C
Well, yeah, I'm putting it down as 85.
F
I took out 12 points.
B
The highest Metacritic game of all time. I'm pretty sure is perfect Dark. It was a different time.
F
Yeah, I mean I'm. Let's just go over right? It is Halo Campaign Evolved. It is Halo. Just the Campaign 13 level. So it's the 10 original levels plus three new levels with Chief and Sergeant Johnson all in Unreal Engine 5. This is the next evolution of Halo for Halo studios. Of what they'll be working on with Unreal. They're away from Slipspace. This is their kind of testing ground of hey, we're not making the official Halo game. We're going to test it with Campaign Evolved. We're going to bring it on to PlayStation 5 for new people to check it out. Here's the catch. No multiplayer. And we all said ooh, yes.
G
And I think that's what's gonna hurt it the most. Yeah, I think you're say 78. 80. That's where I'm thinking.
C
Whoa, that's low.
B
Damn.
C
Damn.
B
I was thinking at least like 85
C
I just don't re. I don't know. I. I guess we gotta wait till Xbox Showcase type stuff during the summer. But I just. It doesn't. It's totally valid that the game would kind of go away and leave the press cycle after you had that sort of initial big hype and buzz around it. But I just kind of wonder if. I don't know if I heard if it came out that it was canceled. I wouldn't be surprised. Like it's one of those type of feeling like a side project, you know.
G
Here's what I think the problem is. Mike, tell me we're talking a 25 year old game number one. Like we've already said, if a Halo purist reviews it, they're going to complain about Sprint and all these other things. They're going to deduct points. Someone that's never played Halo, let's say someone on PlayStation 5 plays it for the first time. It's a 25 year old game. It's not going to hold up in the way that you would think that it would. So I'm just not expecting the high score.
F
I'm really interested to see where this is going to be.
B
Okay.
F
I think we've gone past the Halo purists paris of adding Sprint. There's been too many Halo games now with Sprint where it's like the modern day first person shooter has to feel like a Call of Duty, like an apex, like new Halo. Right. So I think we've moved on past the. My Halo can't have Sprint in anymore. It's like that's now assumed and expected. I think the worry is like hey, these are levels are really shorts or these levels are really empty and barren. Like this is a 25 year old game. It doesn't feel like it's 2027 and beyond. So we'll see. They have done things to add more enemy engagements throughout the map. It does look very, very good. I think not having multiplayer will be a problem. We'll see what happens.
G
Yeah, don't. Don't get me wrong. When we did that preview last year, I'm all in. I can't wait to play it again. But I'm just thinking purely from this competition, scoring wise. I just don't think it'll do that great.
F
I'm hoping for the best. We'll see, we'll expect.
B
Brought up the better critic for Gears of War Reloaded, which has an 81. Did Gears of War Reloaded? Did that launch with both the multiplayer and the single player and all that stuff.
G
Yeah, it did.
B
I'm really curious on how this is going to do. I can't wait for it though. I'm gonna play this sci fi.
C
We're doing four player co op, all of us.
B
Oh, hell yeah.
F
Have you ever played. Have you ever fought the Covenant?
B
I've played like half of Halo 1. I never finished.
C
Have you ever encountered the Flood?
B
The Flood, like from Mario Sunshine.
F
You're gonna love this.
B
Okay.
F
You're gonna fall in love.
C
You're loving.
F
It's an epic.
B
I can't wait.
F
Then I have Fable. Paris brought it up earlier. We have a. We have a release date conversation. We have a little bit of a problem here. When you talk about Halo or Xbox. If you have followed the X cast me. Paris and Gary always talked about the schedule, the calendar, release dates, bumping into one another. And that was Xbox has acquired so many studios, has so many releases and the of course, elephant in the room, Grand Theft Auto. This year the Four Horsemen start to have a really big problem of, well, where are we all releasing and can we release around the juggernaut is that is Grand Theft Auto. You know, you have forts in May. You assume that we're going to go summer for Halo. I don't think they're going to do the anniversary date, Paris. I think they'll do Halo in the summer. I think they will do. I think Halo will be like right around iii. Jeff Keighley window. The summer game fest window. And then I think we will get gears maybe before Grand Theft Auto. And then you would probably put Fable December away from Grand Theft Auto. But that leaves.
G
And don't forget also because you got Call of Duty in there too.
F
Minecraft dungeons too. I got so much.
C
If I'm Asha Sharma, I am just straight up calling Rockstar and going, what do you think? Let us know. Give us a hint. Yeah, give us a hint of like, we cannot. Like we need to do some internal meddling because you cannot put Fable out there to die. And that being said, I am so excited for Fable, dude.
B
I'm so excited for Fable. I think Fable has potential to be like the game.
C
Yeah, me too.
G
But I think that also plays into it too. You don't want to send it out to die and get lost in the shuffle. And if development wise, there's still some things they could tweak or tighten up.
B
Yeah, just.
G
Just delay it till 2027. Early 2027. Give more time.
F
I'm hoping. Best case scenario for me and I think also the game is December launch right like you, you put Gears in front of Grand Theft Auto knowing that Gears has a smaller lifespan than what you want Fable to have. Right. Gears people are going to come out, they're going to play it, they're going to enjoy this story. The Die Hards will play the multiplayer. Everyone else is going to move on. Right. So like, let's get Gears in front of Grand Theft Auto and then Fable. Yeah. The best course of action is probably that Indiana Jones December 7th area right there. Right. First week of December, you have the month, people enjoy it. Hopefully lasts into the spring.
C
Missing the cutoff for game awards.
B
For Halo?
C
No, for. For Fable.
B
Oh, for Fable.
C
Yeah.
B
You can't. I don't like that.
F
Why not? It's probably a better idea though, sales wise.
C
Yeah, but I, but I just. But again, bless. We need a canvas and go to every house and go, hey, remember these games that came out in December. December, don't forget December dfd.
F
Because here's the deal. Grand Theft Auto will win game of the year, right?
B
I mean, we saw it.
G
The window too. I thought.
B
It misses the window too.
G
Isn't it?
B
After the cutoff. Yeah, he's gonna push the window.
C
Shift the Overton window.
B
Jeff will shift it. Jeff will for sure shift the window.
D
I think it's like, it's tight, but I don't think it misses the.
B
The window. But I also think we automatically assume that GTA wins. When was the last time a Rockstar game like unanimously won game of the year? I know I'm. I know I'm sounding crazy, but like
F
10 years ago, did GTA 5 win or not?
B
I don't know, but what for? For the big game awards. Yeah, somebody double check it because my bet would be that it was Last of Us because last was cleaned up. That last was. I'm not gonna say cleaned it up cleaned up, but last of us definitely fought GTA 5.
D
God of war, beat out Red Dead 2.
B
God of war 2018 was killing Red Dead 2. Like we talked about this every year. I don't know what the game this year is that would. But hey, maybe, maybe it's Fable. Okay, maybe it's Fable.
F
And then moving on. Like I said, Ghost of Yote waiting on people. Diablo, I think, has a lot of energy. I think Diablo is going to get a big, big positive. I think I'll go 86 on Diablo. If I had to guess, two new classes. Technically, one, you've already been playing one of the classes, but got two new classes, a new area here. I think they learned from the first one that they put out, that got about like an 82, 83. I think it will go above the most recent.
C
So this is one of them big chunky expansions.
F
Yeah, there's the big deal. Expansion is what this is. Yeah, yeah. And then after that, you have at Fate's end, which a lot of people are excited for. Game looks beautiful from the people of. Is it spirit fairer or.
C
Oh, right. Yeah.
F
Yes.
G
Yes, it is. Yes.
F
Okay.
B
Yeah, that's gonna be great.
F
This is the one. This one's gonna.
B
This one had the crowd around at Xbox ID at Xbox during gdc where like I was trying to get into this, get to play this game and like there was always somebody on the station and everybody kept being like, yeah, that's the game. That's the. That's the most. That's the best game here. I can't wait for this.
F
And so that's your returning champ right now. I played the game. I'm. I'm in talks right now. I'm fielding trade requests and we'll see where. We'll see what the end of the year looks like. My phone line's always open. And that's maybe next year.
B
I do like a trade loop.
F
That's every team out there.
B
Next year it might be.
F
You need a heavy hitter.
B
Next year you might be able to only trade two games like Paris.
F
If you just want to take me out. The in and out fable could be yours.
C
You would have to answer your phone though, in order Forza Horizon could be yours. Oh, yeah?
B
For what? I'll give you anything I'll take you to right now.
G
I'll give you Call of Duty for Forza.
F
Let's do a trade. Give me a call. We'll make it happen.
B
Everybody, I'm trying to think of who
D
from what from Roger's team is he going to give for Forza and whatever
B
you want for Forza. Just so you know. Just so you know, Mike, like, you want. You want to give me Forza? Listen, we can get you guys the win in game showdown. I'm just. All I'm saying, get you the stars of the B. Before we move to the next one, I want to shout out some super chats. A lot of people in here talking about Barrett Bander. Ascend says my roster is very close to Barrett's, so I vote him Science Dog. Official says five bucks for Barrett to buy more cameos for Roger. And then we got great one from A lot of Quest. He says Barrett got the Hawk two. Huh.
C
Good.
B
Funny.
D
Enough. The most priciest cameo there was Nick Scarpino.
B
Next up, the Hawk is affordable.
F
Wow.
B
What do you think?
F
35 for Tony?
B
No. Beer's not spending.
D
No.
B
35 bucks.
F
35s is a good price.
C
That's a really good price.
F
35 for Tony on a cameo.
C
I assume 70.
B
You know what?
F
70 is where it's like, oh, yeah, you know what?
B
My prices are off because I'm thinking about fiverr.
D
But also, there's no. There's no amount that could really equate to Tony Hawk being out there thinking, man. Roger and Barrett, best friends.
G
Fair.
F
That is priceless. That is pretty lit.
B
Yeah. Yeah. People are naming prices, and I'm like, hold on. Did you. Is this something that we can put on the company card? You know what I mean? Like, yeah.
F
Do you want a cameo?
B
Yeah, okay. I just want to talk to me.
F
Oh, just a cameo of Tony Hawk.
B
Okay.
C
Yeah.
B
Oh, you're saying I go on Cameo and start.
F
Oh, no. I go to Cameo. We find you somebody. Somebody. There's have to be Tony.
B
Who's on your mind?
C
Doesn't have to be Tony.
F
Who do I want?
B
Yeah, like, who do you think? Who else do you think I want a cameo?
F
Oh, you, who?
B
Never mind, then.
C
Move on. This is not worth it.
B
Because you said you're not thinking Tony, so I'm like, oh, who do you have in mind if I'm not getting Tony on the cameo? Andy, what's your Tell us about your roster?
C
I got 11 points from re animal. Way lower than I thought it would be. That really bummed me out. I really enjoyed the demo. That's kind of what I was placing my hopes on. I thought we were gonna get one of those kind of goaded inside like Experience. Played co op with Mike on Stream. We did it on the kind of funny stream.
B
It was.
C
It was a lot of fun, but I. I think it scored kind of where it should have been. And then planet of Lana 2 got me 83 points. A little bit lower than what I was assuming, but still, like, yeah, 83 points. That's not bad for a little indie like that. At the very, very top of my list, we got Fire Emblem, Fortunes Weave. Really hope it hits.
B
I think that'll hit for you.
C
I hope so. Mina the Hollower. That's got to come out this year.
B
Oh, yeah.
C
Every preview on this one, everybody's loving it.
B
Does that not have a release date still?
C
Which brook is the. Which brook could be the dark horse on this squad.
D
That was the game that delayed Last
C
year it was delayed from last year which Brooke is cozy multiplayer basically Harry Potter. You're. You're a bunch of your witches at a school and you are. You're not transphobic in this moment at at Hogwarts but you are just doing like it's all the cozy shit you would want life sim relationships. It's a game that's been in development for like I think close to eight years or something. It's one of those. It's like.
F
And this isn't the chocolate one.
C
No that's haunted Chocolatier. Yeah that's the follow up to or not follow up but it's just the next game from the person who concerned ape concern date. Thank you. This is the one that Bobby Lee. This one could be freaking massive or it could just come out and be a dud but I just feel like there's been so much leading up to it that I really hope it hits. Valor Mortis is one that I'm just going with my heart. That's one that like I love this demo. This is the follow. This is the devs of Ghostrunner and I just love Ghostrunner and Valor Mortis is their first person souls like game and I played the preview of it and it fucking kicked so much ass. It was so much fun. The boss fights were so challenging and awesome. You have a sword and you have a pistol in your left hand and it's kind of like got that bloodborne thing of like you know shoot them for the perry or whatever. It was awesome. It felt so good and it looked awesome as well. And then I have out of words
B
out of words
C
out of words out of words. This is one of those indies that I believe it's a Hazelike style game.
B
Okay.
C
I'm pretty sure it's a sort of two player cooperative thing that has always gotten really. It got good previews when that was out. Mariachi Legends is another one. That's my heart.
B
That game looks good.
C
That's voting with my heart. That's where I see the action and the pixel art and I'm like that looks so amazing and it could come out and just be a stinker story wise and that and I'll. I'll take that. That's on me because the art and everything and it just looks so freaking fantastic. Like if you are a fan of any sort of Metroidvania side scroller pixel art with awesome action like this is one that looks so freaking gorgeous. And the Eternal life of Goldman. The Secret life of Walter Schmitty. This is the crazy arts. This one I'm hoping to get, like, an 87 on.
B
Really?
C
I think. I think what this one is going to do, story wise, is going to hit in a lot of ways besides just the wow factor for the art. Because you look at this game, it's like, God dang, that's one of the most beautiful 2D animated video games I've ever seen. I think it'll also hit story wise.
B
Okay. Hell, yeah. Let's move to my roster. I'm right in the middle of the pack.
F
Really quick, I did some research. Tony Hawk is 150.
C
Holy shit.
B
Damn.
F
Tony's up in, like, the top 1% of cameos when it comes to price range. That's crazy. Boston Rob, though, one of the OG survivors. $250 plus.
C
Whoa.
F
Boston Rob really holding on to that celebrity survivor. I don't know about that.
C
He's trying to survive.
B
How does the Hawk have time for that? Like, charging 100.
F
Well, that's why if it's $150, she's
C
hoping you get less.
F
Less.
C
Yeah.
F
So it's like his assistant comes up. He's like, hey, Tony. This week it was quiet on Cameo. You only got four. Oh, Tony was a big week. It's Valentine's Day. Everyone wants to hear from the Hawks 25.
C
Everybody's husband's and wives.
B
My thing is, yeah, I would think Tony would be more in demand because I know he has other things he's doing right. So it's like, well, he's showing demand. He has 150. Like, I might do it for 150.
C
I know that Cameo dropped real bad, like, after the pandemic. Like, yeah, I was talking to somebody.
B
They're trying to get me to get on Cameo. And it was. He was telling me about his success, and I was like, maybe I should get on Cameo.
F
Dan's on Cameo.
B
That's what I'm talking about. That's exactly what I'm talking about. He was telling you to come here. I'm like, I don't know, man.
C
Totals. I talked to Twitch Chat every day.
F
You want a message for me? I'll give you a message.
B
I am sitting right at the middle of the pack in fourth place. My roster looks like this. I got Mixtape at the top, Slay the Spire two. I got. That was counterpicked or. No, that's not counterpicked. That's early access. And it still isn't populated, which scares me.
F
Huh.
B
It says, this game is planned for early access and will not see A full release this year. However, as your league uses only needs score mode, you will still receive points if the game receives a score on Open Critic this year. Let's. Let me look up the.
F
Have any scores?
D
It has no reviews right now on Open Critic.
F
Yeah, nobody's touching it yet.
B
I'm gonna cry.
F
Not a ballers gate situation.
B
Review the game.
D
Yeah, it's not a full version.
B
Plus I don't like it. Yeah. Only one. There's only one score from a website called Gamer Sky. Yeah, that's gonna. Fuck me. That's gonna scream.
C
That's not great.
B
Yeah, no, that's gonna. That's real bad for me.
C
That's a bummer.
B
That's real bad. That's the second pick.
D
Yeah. That was a round two pick.
B
That was a round two pick. In my round three pick, Crimson Desert, which has a 79 on Open Critic, only getting me nine points. That's my third round pick.
C
Now apparently IGN is considering re reviewing
B
it and that's where I want to go with this conversation is hey, everybody who reviewed Crimson Desert, you know you
C
were one of them.
B
Including. Including me. But I'm not a. I'm not a. An outlet that appears on Open Critic. Right. I'm speaking to the Open Critic associated outlets out there. Hey, Pearl Abyss has updated the game left and right. You know what I mean? I know, I know. We got the review code. The version we played was 79. I think it was accurate for the version we played. But let's. Let's be real. The game has evolved and changed. It's time for us all to re review Crimson Desert and update the scores. Say with me. Update the scores.
C
Update the scores for Crimson Desert.
B
Update the scores. Now. That's a dangerous game. Bless.
D
It's a dangerous game.
B
How so?
C
Could it get lower? No, no, no, no.
B
They added an inventory thing to the hometown again.
D
Yeah.
C
They added more Fast travels.
B
Yeah. That could not get. If anything, that should bump it up a few points alone.
C
We also lost our confidence monitor out here. Yeah. Someone's trying to connect to airplane of this tv.
B
Who's trying to connect the airplane?
F
There's only one person in the office. It's Kevin.
C
Kevin.
B
There's probably one person in the office playing Crimson Desert. By the way, he's trying to play Crimson Desert on this tv. But yeah, that's where I stand. Do I stand with that because of this? Partly. Partially. But honestly, I'm in the place where I think I'm eventually going to go back and play more Crimson Desert.
C
I'm going to later in the year.
F
Oh, nice. Yeah, you guys.
B
I moved down the list. I got Mugenics. Me Genics did really well for me. That 89 on open critic, getting me 19 points there. And then we go through. I got Delta Rune Chapter five. I got Zero Parades for Dead Spies. I got Order of the Sinking Star. I got Avatar Legends, the Fighting Game and I got Dench Attack. I am feeling varying levels of confidence in this team for the Metacritic stuff. If deltarune comes out, I think that's going to do phenomenally because Chapter four did phenomenally Zero Parades. A little bit of question mark because that dev team's a lot different from what it was making. Disco Elysium.
C
But how do people feel about the demo?
B
I don't know.
C
Actually that would be the best thing to kind of gauge that on because I. They had their. They had a little steam next to us demo and I would assume that anybody who played Disco Elysium was like, let me check that out.
B
Yeah, I'm on Reddit right now looking to see what they say. Yeah. And Polygon says zero parades preview. It's Disco Elysium 2.0. Basically.
C
Hey, double the points.
F
Hey.
C
Yeah, I know.
B
This is one that kind of made me sad that I didn't pick up esoteric E.B.
C
yeah.
B
Because that is also. People say that that's Disco Elysium as well and that's. That has really great reviews. So yeah, that one is a little bit of a question mark. Order the Singing Star. That's a new Jonathan Blow game. I worry that this isn't coming out this year. I picked it up because it was announced at game awards with 2026. So I'm like, you have to be some level of confident to say that it's coming next year. But we all know how indie game development works. Avatar Legends. I don't think it's going to do amazing, but I think it's going to do well. It's a really fun fighting game. Got to play it here. During the GDC mixture.
D
I could see it getting like 13 points. That's my.
B
I think so too. I think this is like.
D
I think that's its height.
B
I think this is one of those ones where it is like the charmer. Right. It's the game that's like, damn, all right. This is that good. All right, cool. And people like it for that.
D
And I think that's like its initial reaction. And this will be a game that probably won't get re reviewed. But I think like people are gonna with it and then be like, okay, the roster is kind of small. What are we adding here? But I think that the support for it throughout the year and then into next year, like getting more fighters, maybe getting more arenas, like, I think the community is really gonna with it. I think that initial kind of like, like, it's great, it feels good. But like, how much is there of a game here? You know?
B
And then Dench Attack, I'm like, that I played the demo for it, loved the demo so much. But as I get away from it, I look at it, I'm like, but is that a Metacritic hit? You know what I mean? Is that an open critic darling? Or is that a game? Is that going to be a game that people are like, damn, this is fun as hell. And then they play for two days and move on for the next thing.
C
And it needs just. I mean all it needs is a couple of reviewers to say, like, I. This is one of those that I don't know that will have a lot of reviews anyway. It just needs. It needs the majority to go like, yeah, this is an 8 or a 9 or whatever, you know, 100.
B
And I think it has the sauce. That game has a lot of sauce. That's my team. Let's move on to our third place team, which is Ecto one Games, AKA Greg Miller. Greg's team looks like this. Yes. Sorrows. He has Marvel Token Fighting Souls, which has been counterpicked. He has Cult of the Lamb, Woolhaven, which got him in 86 on open credit. Really, really good. That deals.
C
He's awesome. I need to get back to it.
B
He has an unannounced mainline Half Life game which has been counterpicked and I think that might bite him in the ass.
G
Yep.
B
He has Pokemon Wind and Waves, which was counterpicked, which has bit him in the ass. He has replaced, which I think is going to do pretty good for him. Yes. Beast of Reincarnation.
D
Damn.
B
Which I think will do good for him.
C
Me too.
B
Yeah, I could see like 80. He has monster hunter stories, 3, twisted reflection, 86 on metacritic.
C
Pretty good.
B
He has Minecraft.
C
It could be the mic of last year where like Mike had couple zeros on the board but had so many high scores otherwise.
B
I could see it honestly. And then he has Tomadachi Life, Living the Dream, which I think is going to do well for him as well. Pretty solid. Pretty solid lineup here.
C
Counterpick Blood of the Dawn Walker, counterpicks
B
Blood on the Dawn Walker, which we'll see how that shakes out. Because like that strikes me as a game that if it comes out this year, it'll at least do some points. Right. Like, I don't think it's going to do 70 or under. I think I could see it doing a 78.
C
Yeah.
B
Which would be. Paris wants more than that. Paris, realistically, what do you think it lands at?
G
I'm thinking mid to low 80s. That's kind of my thought.
B
God, I hope.
C
But I mean, I think mid-80s is the most, like, hopeful sort of thing ever. I think it's. I think it's maybe like an 81.
B
I think it'll be good if it is, like, if it hits that 80 mark, I think, because, like, we're talking about, what an action RPG with, like, vampire stuff going on here. I want that decision making.
C
Really cool kind of concept of you have the 30 days to do this. Some of the missions are timed, so if they go by you, you fail them. And I. I love that sort of. I don't know, it feels like that level of like, anxiety, you know?
B
Yeah. I like. They.
G
They mentioned there's an aspect to it that if you fail to save your family, the game doesn't end there. There's a whole nother piece to it. So it's. I'm. I'm fascinated by it. I really want to see what it's going to be.
B
We move on to Raj. Former AKA Barrett is my best friend. His roster looks like this. In his number one spot, he has GTA 6. Then he has Trails in the sky, second chapter, taken after Mike there he has Neo 3, which got him 15 points.
C
The. The least motion in 85 has ever had. Like, what was the last time you heard the words?
B
I mean, let's be real here.
C
Good Lord.
B
Yakuza. Kiwami. I actually don't dislike Neil3 as much as Andy does.
C
No, it's a good game, but it's
B
because Andy played more of it than I.
C
That's a really. It's a really good.
B
Out early.
C
It's a good game, but like 85. Come on, 82.
B
He has Yaku, Yakuza, Kwami 3 and Dark Ties, which got him a 74 on Open Critic. That's four points overall. He has unannounced Witcher 3 DLC Dangan.
C
What does he know?
B
What does he know?
D
What does he know?
B
He has Danganronpa 2x2 22 by 2. He's got orbitals, which guy. That game looks good. He has Demon Tides, which got him in 85 on open critic. That's 15 points and. And then he has Castlevania, Belmont's Curse, which I think is a really good one.
C
Yes.
B
I wish I picked this one up.
C
Demon Tides was. Was that. That was a controversial one, right? That one was like. There was some. There was some scuttlebutt. Really?
B
I didn't know about that.
D
We had the. It's the same devs who's working on Bubsy 4.
C
No, I. I mean, like, him picking it. That was that one.
B
Tides. Yes. Because it was the thing where he had bid on it and got it. But I knew he had a review code, and so, like, we had. I had to pull him off into the. The meeting room and have a conversation.
C
So we didn't have a talk about that.
B
Yeah, talk. He swore by. That he was playing. He hadn't played past what the demo version was. And so I'm like, you know, the rule is if you are playing the game for review, you can't bid on it. Right. But after having the conversation with him, he was early enough to where it's like, all right, you're still in the demo area. I'm gonna let it slide. But I gave him a little, like, you're on thin ice, buddy.
C
You watch out.
B
You watch out. You know, you're on probation. What I'm saying, Castlevania is gonna do
C
so well for it.
B
That's gonna do great.
C
Game looks unbelievably good, man. And then.
B
Yeah. Danganronpa. I'm curious.
D
That's a remake of two, I would imagine, right?
B
Oh, is that what that is?
D
I think it's a remake.
B
Guy loves remakes.
C
He counterpicks Mouse PI for Hire.
B
That's not gonna do good for him.
C
I don't think so.
B
Yeah. I think Mouse PI for Hire is gonna review.
C
Well, that's gonna be minimum 82. Yeah.
D
I mean, I love that. Yeah. I would love anything in the. The double digits.
C
Oh, yeah. I think it'll. I think it's minimum 82. Yeah.
B
And then number one, even though he's at home right now taking care of a child, Tim Gettys is currently sitting at Killing it. Killing it. When we go in order. Right. Resident Evil Requiem was his number one pick. That is sitting at an 89. Of course. I think we expected that from that game. Then he has Dragon Quest 7 reimagined coming in at an 83 on Open Critic, getting him 13 points there. He has double 07 First Light, which I, at the very least, have faith in. He has Animusha way of the sword, which I think will do good for him. I played the preview for it. I would, I would guess. Yeah, it was good like 80. 82. Yeah. 83. That sounds about right. Getting into the mid-80s. I could see that. Tides of Annihilation.
C
That's a big question mark. I, I have a feeling that he will like end up dropping this one for sure.
B
Yeah, well it's counter picked so we can't.
C
Oh oh you're. Oh yeah.
B
I don't think there's any way this game's dropping this year.
C
Yeah.
B
20, 27 he has Pokemon procopia which did amazing for great pickup. 90 on metacritic on open critic getting him 20 points. Then he has Tomb Raider Legacy of Atlantis and then Kana Scars of Cosmora
C
Kane is gonna get him 85.
B
Yeah. Kana's gonna do wafer and if it
C
doesn't then I'll be like how the did this not how is this not tied with Neo 3?
D
I, I, I think Kana is gonna be another like similar to what was the sequel. You had Andy on your on your list.
C
Planet Lana.
D
Planet of Lana. I think Kana 2 will score similarly to the first one which the first one at least I'm Metacritic I would have to pull open critic up was an 81.
B
Sorry, I'm looking at super chats and there's one here that upsets and disgusts me. Oh oh Tlammy 1992 writes in and says bless I have sleep Aspire too as well and went to the open critic Discord. They announced they're not counting early access reviews this year so it won't get a score. What? I think we have to throw the whole thing out. Redo the draft. Let's.
C
That's up. Gotta play it.
B
Realize Bless.
C
That's so crazy to make a mid year decision like that.
B
That's so crazy. That wasn't like that when we were draft. That's unfair to me. Yeah, we're being real. That's not fair to me and the players on the fantasy critic thing, you know. Well maybe it hits 1.0 this year. You don't know. It's not gonna hit 1.0 this year.
D
I think don't know that though.
B
They literally said it's gonna be like 18 to 24.
C
Like a. Yeah like a year and a half out.
B
Yeah. They say all the stuff Steam Page it'll be.
C
Yeah, like oh man, that is tough. Bless. That's not good.
G
Dude.
B
That hurts.
D
That's tough.
B
Oh, that struck me right in the heart.
C
Does anybody else have early Access stuff.
D
I think that's the only one tagged right now is.
B
Oh, for like or for the games here.
D
Yeah, yeah.
B
I don't think anybody else picked up an early access game over critic was
C
paid off, says CDJ gamer. The Snowback. Michael, let's look at your bank account.
B
That's so cuz. Slay the spire too. Like if. If we're being real, right? If Slate Inspire 2 was reviewed right now, it's like a 90.
C
Yeah, for real.
B
It's like a 90.
C
No, for real. You're right.
F
Oh, I got a couple picks for you if you need it.
B
I'll talk to you about that. What? Give them to you right now.
F
We'll go right in and out.
B
Let's talk about it.
F
Someone's gonna get Fort Mike's gonna be
C
Pat Riley and put his dreams on the table.
B
Let's talk Mob Axio says hear me out. Bless paid two outlets to review Slayspire 2. Hey, we're already past that. It's not gonna be open. Critics not counting them anymore kind of. Mob Axio also says my team goes four to six. Wolverine, Silk Song DLC trails, Second Chapter Mixtape, Eugenics Mina Vampire Crawlers, Marvel tocon, Dench Attack replaced Tomadachi Orbitals and Zelda remake. Damn. That's a solid team right there.
D
That's a great team.
B
Claw Master writes and says, don't worry, Bless. If there's anything the FGC is known for, it's having a dedicated, loyal fan base to keep playing the games at majors and locals. Claw Master, that does nothing for me with Open Critic, though. I don't care if the game has a good life.
C
Yeah.
B
I needed to have a good start. Yeah. And then even though I am looking forward to that game, I do want to have a good life because I'm planning to play it. Benjamin Ponce writes in and says, no one got Zero Company. Which one is Zero Company?
D
That's the Star wars tactics game that, like, I have not seen nearly enough of to, like, want a bid for it.
C
And I'm good.
B
Although Galactic Racer, though, I.
D
And that's. And that's another one where, like, we've seen more of that game and I'm still not, like, fully convinced that that's gonna hit.
B
Well. I'm looking forward to seeing how the rest of this fancy critic year plays out. I think we're at a really interesting place. Summer's around the corner. We're going to get a bunch of games announced. Paris is going to pick up a bunch of those unannounced Games.
G
That's right.
B
Who has the most space spaces in the thing? Is it Paris?
D
It's either Paris or Tim.
B
Paris and I think it's. Yeah, Paris and Tim.
F
I'm receiving a phone call right now.
B
You're receiving a phone call.
F
Hello, this is my coward, Andy Cortez thinks I blocked him, but I didn't.
C
I just wanted to verify that I was blocked or not because I never got responses. So I had to call him on camera.
F
My phone doesn't make noises anymore. Andy, would you please call my phone right now?
B
It doesn't make.
F
Call my phone right now. Feel, feel. Listen. Wait for it.
C
I don't know what's worse, like being blocked or like receiving three text messages and two calls and not getting anything back.
F
My phone doesn't vibrate.
B
Is it on silent?
F
Any noise?
B
Is it. What's it on right now?
D
I.
F
When we did Magic Blast, I put it on like super duper. Don't ever notify me.
B
Uhhuh.
F
And now it's never gone back.
C
Now, Paris, would you believe, Would you believe that Snowback Mike, the person who's willing to swipe the card at any moment for anything, doesn't matter the quality, doesn't matter what the thing is, he will pay for it. Mike has about a 7 year old phone because he just doesn't want to deal with like Verizon getting the upgrade.
F
A whole day of Verizon.
C
Wait, what iPhone are they on right now? And which one do you have?
F
I have the 10. I have the X. What? Yeah, probably.
G
And it works.
F
Works great. Paris, you just said you put it on.
B
Do not disturb it, it won't go.
F
It doesn't make any noise.
B
Ye, he's got a phone anymore.
C
He also puts things on he puts up on speakerphone because the touchscreen doesn't work a lot of the time.
F
Yeah, that was because mountain lion was chasing me, the whole thing.
C
Wait,
B
never mind. That's it for kind of funny gamescast. Of course after this you got more content waiting for you. Just like Game Showdown episode three of the Stars in the bank season. And you won't want to miss this special guest. Of course after that we got a stream and we have a full week of content.
F
Whoa, whoa. Stream's really good.
B
What's that?
F
Mike investigates. I'm going on a full on investigation week. I'm gonna get down and dirty. I'm gonna find out who the hell's playing World of Tanks.
B
Oh, that's really fun.
F
And you know what? I just looked it up. Yeah, World of tanks is celebrating 15 years.
C
Wow.
F
Can you.
C
Congratulations. Congrats.
F
15 years of this.
C
You do a Pablo Torre finds out right? Going deep into it. Michael Howard. Michael Howard finds out.
B
Hell yeah. Paris, thanks so much for joining us once again.
C
Thank you Paris.
B
And thank you all.
G
Thank you for having me.
B
Thanks for showing up. Until next time. It's been our pleasure to serve you.
