Foreign.
Tim Gettys
What's up, everybody? And welcome to the Kind of Funny Games cast for Friday, August 1st.
Snow Bike Mike
Wow.
Tim Gettys
2025, of course. I'm your host, Tim Gettys. I am joined by. Oh, it's so good that he's back. Snow Bike Mike.
Snow Bike Mike
Tim. I missed you. You know, I looked you in the eyes before I left. I said, I don't want to go. He said, you gotta leave. You gotta leave right now. And so I'm happy to be back at home base and I'm just happy to see Andy.
Andy
Okay.
Tim Gettys
Of course we have Andy.
Snow Bike Mike
Your hair is different today and I like it.
Tim Gettys
That's what I was saying.
Snow Bike Mike
I like. Is it a water pressure thing or is it a water pressure?
Andy
Water pressure?
Snow Bike Mike
Is it the broccoli look? Well, it's down today. Usually it's up. You've chosen a little down into the.
Andy
He's bringing like the 2000 late 2000s emo thing back a little bit.
Tim Gettys
I'm obsessed with Andy's hair.
Snow Bike Mike
Well, when I.
Andy
When I drive in, I have the swoop every morning. I've been doing the. I've been doing the front soup every morning.
Snow Bike Mike
Okay.
Andy
When I. On the drive in and then I park the car bounce up and then I push it the other way. So it's sort of fighting against gravity. It's fighting against. It's fighting against its roots and like, you know how it was brought up, it's upbringing.
Snow Bike Mike
Wow.
Tim Gettys
We're also joined today by a rare appearance by Nick Scarpino.
Nick Scarpino
I have so many Snowbike Mike stories leading up to the event that Snowbike Mike went to.
Tim Gettys
Yeah. Everyone, I just want you all to know this is going to be one of those games cast episodes that' also kind of a kind of funny podcast. We're talking about Battlefield 6. We will talk about the video game, I promise. But I also promise we're going to talk a lot about not the video games.
Snow Bike Mike
Yeah. We got to talk about this on the Internet right now. What are the big four US Cities? Because there's a big hot debate right now. A lot of people can't land on the big four. The big four US Cities. The big four.
Nick Scarpino
Interesting.
Andy
Tucson.
Snow Bike Mike
Yeah, exactly.
Nick Scarpino
Santa Fe.
Andy
All in new mix.
Snow Bike Mike
What are you for, Tim?
Tim Gettys
Well, that's the thing is it does get complicated because the arguments I've seen from people are that you can't have multiple cities from the same state. I say to that. Are you stupid? Yes, you can and you will. Because of course, in no order, we got New York. Actually, I'll Even order it. It's New York. Yeah, right. That's the only one. The others don't matter. Order New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago. And then it's a debate between Chicago or Miami. But to be real, it's Chicago.
Snow Bike Mike
Yeah, it's.
Andy
It's New York. It's la, It's Miami.
Snow Bike Mike
Yes.
Andy
And probably San Juan, Texas.
Snow Bike Mike
Nice. That's a great pull.
Nick Scarpino
Maybe.
Andy
Maybe San Benito.
Nick Scarpino
You need something to mellow it out a little bit.
Snow Bike Mike
No.
Nick Scarpino
Little cream of the coffee.
Andy
No cream of the coffee.
Snow Bike Mike
I'm going New York, L.A. miami. Ready for this? For Vegas has it.
Nick Scarpino
Raise your hand if you've been to Miami. Why are y' all voting for this? You haven't been to that goddamn city.
Snow Bike Mike
You don't know if it's good. You gotta believe in South Beach.
Tim Gettys
There's culture though, man.
Snow Bike Mike
Yeah. I'm also the four corners.net he's. Yeah.
Nick Scarpino
All I'm saying is no disrespect to.
Andy
Miami, Tallahassee, whatever, you know, But.
Nick Scarpino
But obviously three out of the four people here have not been there.
Tim Gettys
Yeah, but I feel like Miami, like Chicago, so much identity to Miami. That's important. Like that is going to be there. Yeah, exactly.
Andy
LeBron, Wade, Bosch. Wasn't the other Norris Cole.
Snow Bike Mike
DJ Khaled. Yeah. DJ Khaled.
Nick Scarpino
Yes. That's amazing.
Snow Bike Mike
Pitbull. Yeah.
Nick Scarpino
Good.
Snow Bike Mike
Rio.
Tim Gettys
Vegas is an interesting love Rio.
Snow Bike Mike
God.
Tim Gettys
But Vegas as a city, I. I don't know about that.
Nick Scarpino
Yeah. But here's the thing.
Tim Gettys
Vegas is a strip.
Nick Scarpino
Vegas might be the most American city ever.
Snow Bike Mike
Yeah.
Nick Scarpino
It might actually be city.
Snow Bike Mike
I don't know. I don't give.
Tim Gettys
Vegas isn't a city. Vegas is just a giant amusement park.
Snow Bike Mike
Yeah.
Nick Scarpino
That's America. It is a giant music park where nothing tastes very good, but you get.
Snow Bike Mike
A lot of it.
Nick Scarpino
And that's. That's Vegas.
Snow Bike Mike
And all the people actually living there.
Andy
Are just getting by.
Nick Scarpino
Yeah, they're just getting by.
Snow Bike Mike
Getting by, man.
Tim Gettys

Andy

Tim Gettys
Thank you to our Patreon producers, Karl Jacobs. Omega Buster and Delaney need the Psalm twining today. We're brought to you by Mood Factor in the kind of funny survey, but we'll tell you all about that later. For now, let's start with the topic of the show. I really don't like that in the chat, Crab Daddy just said when the fart bleeds.
Snow Bike Mike
Yeah, it hasn't moved. I don't know why Daddy's thoughts, but like, it hurts.
Andy
It's been so stagnant there.
Tim Gettys
Yeah, yeah.
Andy
Oh, I think that's the old chat.
Snow Bike Mike
Or the YouTube chat. Just gave up.
Andy
No, it's Game Daily chat.
Tim Gettys
So that's Games Daily.
Snow Bike Mike
That's a wild one.
Tim Gettys
All right, topic of the show. Battlefield 6. It's announced. It's real. You played it, Tim?
Snow Bike Mike
I played a lot of it. I played two days.
Tim Gettys
Broke stuff.
Snow Bike Mike
I'm about six hours in. Me and the IT team, we're tight. Okay. Hector at the IT team. Dom part of the IT team. Yeah, we were tight. We were working obs. We were. We were back ending files.
Andy
Andy Resolution.
Snow Bike Mike
We were having a good time.
Andy
If I was there, would you have given out my phone number to him?
Snow Bike Mike
Oh, you would have loved Dom.
Nick Scarpino
I'm going to go out on a limit. Say every single person at that event has your phone number down.
Snow Bike Mike
You got a hit.
Andy
You got a hit of my friend Andy.
Snow Bike Mike
He's the best. Down from the ie, that's the Inland Empire. I'm well aware. Yeah. Shout out to Dom.
Nick Scarpino
That's where I'm from.
Tim Gettys
Yeah.
Snow Bike Mike
Really?
Nick Scarpino
That's where is. Yeah. Inland Empire.
Snow Bike Mike
That's cool. I was breaking stuff. I was having fun. A lot of. Lot of destruction. But yeah, I had a great week, tim. I've played six plus hours of Battlefield 6 multiplayer. I got to be part of the big reveal with Vince Zampella and the Battlefield Studios. I got all this information. I'm excited Excited to share with the audience. And I also have some really dope stories.
Tim Gettys
Oh, I'm sure you.
Snow Bike Mike
Because you know, Tim, I did a lot this week. I didn't think I was okay. I came into this week, I was like, you know what? I'm gonna lay low. I'm just gonna be low. That's what you were doing?
Nick Scarpino
That's what you thought, I'm gonna be low?
Snow Bike Mike
That's what you were doing?
Tim Gettys
Are you talking about at work kind of funny?
Snow Bike Mike
I mean.
Nick Scarpino
All right.
Andy
It's okay to just lie to everybody.
Snow Bike Mike
I'm low Key Mike. You know what I mean? Low key Mike was going out there.
Nick Scarpino
Yeah.
Andy
And you sound like you're about to be sick and be out for about 16 days.
Snow Bike Mike
Well, here's the deal. Like last night there was an after party. And I didn't think I was going to attend the after party. There was vibes, Right.
Nick Scarpino
Somebody made you.
Snow Bike Mike
Right. I'm hanging out with my gaming dad, Paris Lilly. And like, you know, Paris is like, I'm a little tired young buck. I don't know if I got it. And I begged him, I was like, paris, we got to go. Please give me some energy. Yeah. And like, even I left day two, and I was like, you know what? What if I didn't do that? And then Paris walked up to me, goes, I don't know if you've heard, Bronnie and AD might be at the party.
Tim Gettys
Oh, shit.
Snow Bike Mike
And for the unaware, those are two NBA All Stars. NBA superstars. Bronny LeBron James son and A.D. anthony Davis. The brow could be. I mean, come on.
Andy
Playing D League.
Snow Bike Mike
I'm like, oh, shit, really? And he says, one more name, Nick.
Nick Scarpino
What's that?
Snow Bike Mike
He says, kcp.
Andy
Tavius Caldwell.
Snow Bike Mike
Tavius Caldwell. Pope could be there. And I said, get your Timberlands on, we're going.
Andy
Look out for the smoke bike. I think a pope. A new pope has been announced.
Snow Bike Mike
Get your button ups, get your dress attire. We're going to this afterparty and deep into Hollywood. Nick. We went. Yeah, about 45 minute drive, but we made it.
Nick Scarpino
Yeah, but in LA, that could be three blocks.
Snow Bike Mike
Oh, man. So let's just jump right to the.
Tim Gettys
Let's just jump.
Snow Bike Mike
Okay, let's just jump straight to the after party. Jump right to the after party. Cuz Paris, poor dad, Paris had to step in. Okay, so we get in the Uber, me, Khalif and Paris, we're ready to rock and roll. It's lowkey, vibes are chill. But like, KCP's there and I'm going to see KCP.
Tim Gettys
The uninitiated. Who is KCP?
Snow Bike Mike
Cantavious Caldwell Pope, two time NBA champion LA Lakers and the Denver Nuggets now in Memphis. Very exciting stuff, right? And so here's journeyman. Lot of. A lot of jerseys. So here's the deal. Tim and Nick, we're in the Uber. And you know me, I've been doing really well and trying my best when we're out in social outings to put the phone down and be part of it. Not be staring at my phone, not fidgeting with the phone. Just be a part of the fun. Right?
Nick Scarpino
I mean, this is the first time hearing about that, but we know him. I've never, never heard this.
Snow Bike Mike
I've never thought about this. I've been doing really well. Never great about it.
Nick Scarpino
I've been proud of you for months, years.
Snow Bike Mike
Now we're in the back of the Uber and like I'm getting spread out, I'm getting loose, you know what I mean? Because I'm in the far back seats and I was like. It got so long, Nick, that I might have pulled my phone out of my pocket, started looking at the cool Twitter video that I put up. You know what I mean? We'll talk about that soon. I got. I love it. I love it. It's a good video. It's a good video. So what do I do? You would think you'd slide it back in your pocket. No, I put it underneath my butt.
Andy
Oh.
Snow Bike Mike
And I said, I'll get that.
Nick Scarpino
Yeah.
Snow Bike Mike
You know what I mean? Yeah.
Nick Scarpino
You'll definitely remember that 45 minutes from.
Snow Bike Mike
Now, and we arrive at the after party and it's lit. You know what I mean? Like, the energy's high, People are outside. It's LA. Okay, celebrities. We're HollyW. There's security. There's a VIP entrance on one side. Call of Duty, it's Battlefield.
Andy
Yeah.
Snow Bike Mike
Or that's exactly. There's a vibe, right? And so I jump out the whip and I'm dapping people up. There's Danny Pena's brother. I'm first time getting to meet him. Hell yeah.
Tim Gettys
Great dude.
Snow Bike Mike
D light. Great guy. Then there's security. They're looking at me. I'm making friends with them. Door boy Danny, he's letting me in. We're all good friends. The first person we lock eyes with and see when we walk into the VIP entrance, Cantavious Cantavius Caldwell Pope. And what does Snow Mike. Mike do? Dapped him up immediately. Kcp. We've now dabbed up Two times in a row. I'm hugging kcp. I'm. I'm shooting finger guns at him as I walk out. My guy, right? And he's laughing, he's loving it. We finally get onto the dance floor. I feel light. I feel a little lighter.
Nick Scarpino
Yeah, it means your left pocket. Maybe.
Snow Bike Mike
I left this giant cell phone in the Uber. What does Mike have to do? Daddy, Paris, Daddy, Paris, please, God, call the Uber. And Paris goes from smiling, giggling to dad mode in a heartbeat. Rolls his eyes, goes, God damn it, Mike. And now he's got to grab the cell phone and loud blasting music, dark lighting, and go Uber. Danny Pena is like, you gotta hit this button. You gotta go down to help, okay? Now you gotta call. The guy and parents is just shaking his head. We've been in a 45 minute car ride to get to.
Andy
How dare you do this to him?
Snow Bike Mike
God. Now he got so pissed. His 35 year old son. Fucking hell, man. So he's gotta go outside. He goes, the guy didn't answer. Like, I don't know. And I'm like. And Danny's doing the thing. I couldn't live without my phone. Oh my God, I would die. And I'm trying to hold it in. And so I look at Danny and go, ain't no big deal, Danny. Like, it's all good, you know? Like in the back of my mind, I'm like, there goes all your photos. You got no plane ticket. You're gonna have to call Nick. You're never getting home. I was like, I looked at Danny, I was like, it's all good. I walked up to the bar, got a Red Bull, I'm dancing, shucking and jiving a little bit. Dancing. The feeling.
Nick Scarpino
Yeah, yeah, Just, you know, letting it go.
Snow Bike Mike
Just take it a second.
Andy
Take a second crashing out like Mon Mothma.
Snow Bike Mike
For reals. And Paris goes, we'll figure it out. I go, there's no rush, you know what I mean? So we start, we start cruising. And then Paris looks at me and goes, he's coming back with your phone. You got to go wait outside for it. I go, paris, I'll go wait outside. No problem, right? So now I go out into the street, lock eyes with the door guy, go, hey, man, got a situation. Left my phone in the Uber, I'll be right back. He says, no problem. You know what I mean? They know me now.
Nick Scarpino
Your best friends, they know me now.
Snow Bike Mike
Yeah, they know me. And so now I'm standing in the walkway and everybody's looking at Snowbike. Mike, Mike. What are you doing out here? Well, you know, I left my phone in the Uber. I got to do this. And so now I'm on the other side of the street, and I got PR yelling at me, like, what are you doing over there? And I'm trying to explain the situation, and Danny's brother finally looks at me, goes, just go inside and party. I'll grab it for you. And so I dab up him. I dab up Danny's brother. I'm like, you're the fucking best. Thank you so much. Right? And then I go, let loose.
Andy
I gotta go hang with Casey, okay?
Snow Bike Mike
And everybody in their mama is at this party. This is the party that they talked about, that Tim and Greg talked about that Nick Scarpino share stories about hanging out with G units back in the day. Okay, KCP is over there.
Nick Scarpino
It's called Renee.
Snow Bike Mike
John Drake is right there. Bruce Green is over there.
Nick Scarpino
That's the G unit of the video.
Snow Bike Mike
Game industry are getting in the mix. The vibe is going right. You got press, you got creators. And all of a sudden, I look over, and there she is. Brie Larson has entered the building. Captain Marvel walks past me, and I go, oh, dab her up. I wish. So she walks up. She's playing Leave alone. Leave her alone. It's crazy right now. I'm like, john Drake. This is the shit they talked about. He's like, mike, this is what it looks like. Yeah, this is a big party. I'm like, john Drake. This is nuts. I got to go see kcp. So what happens? I get into the VIP section. There's kcp. I dab him up again. Barrett in Assets, there's a nice photo of me in Paris. So of course I walk up to kcp. I say, hey, kcp. I don't want to interrupt. I don't want to take much time from you, but do you mind if we snap up, take a flick? And he goes, of course, big dog. No problem at all. So me and Paris.
Tim Gettys
But can I.
Snow Bike Mike
Can I ask you, like, really quick? I also don't take a flick. What?
Nick Scarpino
A video. He wants a video. Can we snap on this?
Snow Bike Mike
Take a flick?
Tim Gettys
You just said. What did you actually say?
Snow Bike Mike
That's what I said.
Andy
I also don't have a picture of Paris. I have this picture.
Snow Bike Mike
No, no, no. Oh, yes. Michael Huber.
Andy
Here's the real celebrity's hu.
Snow Bike Mike
Higher, higher up on Assets. It was from last night. Oh, by being random. My apologies. Where I said, everybody, wake up. I've met Casey. All right.
Andy
Right, right. Yeah, you Texted me last night.
Snow Bike Mike
So there I am chopping it with KCP in Paris. We got our wine glasses. You know, we're dinging, we're having a good time. And I'm asking him questions.
Tim Gettys
Your wine glasses.
Snow Bike Mike
I'm like, kcp, when you come around the corner, getting that high screen on the wing, and you turn to the hoop, who do you want to see? One on one? Who can you blow by? Who's guarding you and locking you down? He's laughing. And then we moved on to call video games. It's like, what's the video game you're good at? And he liked Madden Call of Duty. He was excited about this one after watching. And so me and kcp, we're friends now.
Tim Gettys
I love it.
Andy
That's awesome.
Snow Bike Mike
Yeah. I might go out to Memphis and see a game.
Andy
You swing by, if he's in Golden State, like, hit him up, dude.
Snow Bike Mike
That's a great call. You know, That's a great call. We made a connection. I love that because at one point.
Andy
Kevin Coel, I think, was maybe hanging out with Hunter Pence at one point and mentioned that. Was it Kevon Looney? No, Festus Azili.
Snow Bike Mike
Big friends.
Andy
Festus, yeah, Big Festus. He was like, I love video games. I want to go hang out with you on. Kevin was like, there's a former Warrior player. I don't remember his name. It was kind of a unique name. Was like, festus is Eli. He was like, yeah. I was like, why would he. Like, I don't know. That's very bizarre. But we can have both of them show up here.
Nick Scarpino
This place, it gives me anxiety when real people show up here.
Snow Bike Mike
I'll be real with you.
Nick Scarpino
Like, I don't like it. People that are like, our friends, like, Bruce Green's the world. World.
Snow Bike Mike
They get it.
Nick Scarpino
They get. But, like, when real pro athletes show up, I'm like, oh, man, we're just gonna embarrass ourselves. Mainly, I'm gonna embarrass myself by not knowing who this person is and not realizing what the hell's going on here. I don't like it at all.
Andy
The reason why you end up embarrassing yourself is because you try really hard to act like. Like, if you met, like, a normal.
Nick Scarpino
Like a real person.
Snow Bike Mike
Hello, sir.
Andy
No, if you met kcp, you would be like, oh, man, three pointers. Like, you love this. You gotta just love the pig skin there, kcp.
Snow Bike Mike
I love the pig.
Andy
SK.
Snow Bike Mike
So good. And so everybody was there. Lisa Wallen's there. She's going crazy because there's a word. Travis Barker's in the building. Oh, man. He's out drumming on the controller. So the bark man was there.
Andy
Nobody's ever.
Snow Bike Mike
No one's ever called him.
Nick Scarpino
I'm calling him that from now.
Snow Bike Mike
Danny and Khalif are talking to a gentleman, and I walk up to Paris. I'm like, yo, who is this cool dude they're talking to? Because they're talking to him for about seven minutes straight, maybe 20 minutes, and.
Tim Gettys
He doesn't know who this man is. Barrett, can you bring up the first link I put under topic of the show there? Because Danny did take a picture of this. Yeah, Danny Khalif and the one and only Lupe Fiasco. All right, so of course I'm freaking out about this. I. I've met him a couple times. It's always been a pleasure. But my favorite thing about seeing this picture, once Barrett can get it up, is the background of this picture.
Snow Bike Mike
That's me.
Andy
No idea.
Snow Bike Mike
That was my buddy from Dexerdo. He was asking me about Tahoe fishing. You know what I mean? I was laying it down. You north lake, south lake, where you stay. And he was really excited to get up there, showing him the snow bike.
Andy
He looks as pink as you do.
Tim Gettys
There's one more thing I want to bring up real quick.
Snow Bike Mike
The.
Tim Gettys
The second one. Barrett, if you could bring this up. You didn't get to meet her, but I'm so jealous that I wasn't at this event because Ariana Maddox, who is like the biggest star from Vanderpump, rules, and she is now bigger than Vanderpump, bigger than any of that stuff. She, like, was like, I think second place in Dancing with the Stars. Reality TV show royalty.
Andy
Do they have multiple Arianas?
Nick Scarpino
Yeah, well, Ariana's. It's not a name. It's like a level you get to.
Snow Bike Mike
When you're in a reality.
Tim Gettys
Remember when there was Scandal? I explained all of this to you. The big she. She was the one that the dude cheated on her.
Snow Bike Mike
Oh.
Tim Gettys
Anyways, here she is now.
Snow Bike Mike
So, yeah, this party was bumping. We were celebrating battlefield and the big EA reveal. Of course, Roger's favorite guy, DJ Peewee, was there spinning the ones and twos. Anderson Paak. Oh, okay. That's his DJ name. Oh. So Tim ran this beautiful.
Nick Scarpino
Thought it was a Pee Wee Herman themed dj.
Snow Bike Mike
I was like, Hollywood, downtown LA club. And it's got the inside dance floor, it's got the outside, and everybody's, like, at the beginning outside. Take it in the fresh air. Oh, that's Brie Larson. You know, it was a lot of that. So a lot of people were like, oh, that's Brie Larson.
Nick Scarpino
I'm confused as to why Brie Larson. Is she a gamer?
Snow Bike Mike
Does she actually. She cares.
Nick Scarpino
Okay.
Andy
Brie Larson is always, like, doing partnerships with Nintendo, like back when Animal Crossing was kind of on the come up during the pandemic and stuff, but she's continued to do stuff with Nintendo. And yeah, she. She's a gamer.
Nick Scarpino
Cool.
Snow Bike Mike
Yeah. And so boom, all of a sudden, you hear over the megaphone, I need everybody to come on into the dance floor. Get your hands up. I'm like, man, what's going on here? Why are you yelling in my ear? Here it comes. DJ Peewee's here. Big wig. He puts on a big wig. He's got the full on, like, 90s tracksuit on, like, I like to wear. And he's getting after it, Nick. I mean, the whole. All the nerds were on the dance floor and they were getting down to it and it was like, it was kind of funny prom all over again. It was like, wow, people are dancing, they're having fun. I haven't seen this at a party in a long time. And it felt good.
Andy
Yeah.
Snow Bike Mike
And so that was the after party. I know we jumped ahead, but like, you had. You had to start there. You had to know about KCP and I's relationship. It's gonna be something special.
Andy
Did you see so in the distance, did you see the Bark Man?
Snow Bike Mike
No, I never saw the Bark Man. I was too. I was locked in with my main man, John Drake, my Bark man.
Andy
In Lisa Wallen's post where she took a selfie with Mike. She's like, travis Barker is like three feet away from us. So he did probably and just never registered the bar in the moment.
Nick Scarpino
It would be fun to see if, like, Mike knows who Travis Barker is. Like, if we showed him three pictures of like, generic drummers, I think, yeah.
Snow Bike Mike
I'm in the tats, you know, I mean, but like, if he's wearing a long sleeve T shirt, I would never know. Yeah, you know what I mean? If you had a hat on and.
Nick Scarpino
A long sleeve shirt, you couldn't see all the time.
Andy
He's involved in too many genres to not know. Yeah, yeah.
Nick Scarpino
He's transcended music at this point.
Snow Bike Mike
He's cool. And I mean, so many more celebs. Jake Baldino.
Tim Gettys
Oh, yeah, dude.
Snow Bike Mike
Me and Jake Baldino. Come on. So I fly in on what day is it today? Friday. So I left on, what, Tuesday. Then that means. So we arrive into on Tuesday to beautiful downtown lake. We're on the marina. What a cool little spot. I'm on the harbor.
Andy
Those photos looked. Looked fabulous. You're reading your Xbox magazines out there.
Snow Bike Mike
Thank you.
Andy
Yeah.
Nick Scarpino
What part of the city were you at? Marina del Rey or.
Snow Bike Mike
Yes, okay. That's where we were. And so nice little spot. We had a little PR mixer, which you know I love, right? Because then I get to meet all my friends from around the globe. Me and the. Me and the Europeans, me and the kids from South America. We gel instantly. There's just an instant connection with. We're like. We're best friends. You know what I mean? Jacuzzi on the late night with the kids from Germany. Of course I'm there. You know what I mean? Like, let's have a great time together. But I'm mixing and mingling.
Tim Gettys
He's just taking all these words in.
Snow Bike Mike
Remember that?
Andy
I just.
Snow Bike Mike
I just. It's so much fun.
Andy
You're just a bullshitter.
Snow Bike Mike
You got to go out, bro.
Nick Scarpino
I got to go out, Andy.
Snow Bike Mike
You got to go out, say things. I'm telling you how it is. Okay, Great. Friends. Then Jake Baldino shows up at the very end. I'm like, oh, my God. It's my first time. I get to hang out with Jake Baldino. Very excited. Oh, my God, we had a blast. Everybody's laughing. Here's some candy while I tell you some stories. All right. Enjoy that. And so we finish the night. Kate Sanchez sews up, and everybody's riding the magic high. Tim. So what we do, we played a two hour game of commander in the restaurant. Hotel restaurant is fully shut down. The wait staff has cleaned the entire place. And now the construction crew is in changing the light bulbs and ripping out part of the ceiling. And there's four nerds just gaming.
Andy
You're like, not now, not now.
Snow Bike Mike
We're not leaving this place. And I'll tell you what, Magic to kick off the event was really nice.
Tim Gettys
Yeah.
Snow Bike Mike
Got a good eight hours of sleep. Even live streamed. Don't know if you saw, but I irl live streamed a bunch from the hotel. Yeah, yeah, yeah. We had some SEAL watching Baron. If you'll go to the video of me on the deck and assets. There's some really important conversation that I want to have with everybody because I was out there enjoying the docs Kebabs on tv.
Nick Scarpino
Asks a really important question. Have they talked about Battlefield yet?
Snow Bike Mike
Yeah, we're gonna get to it.
Andy
Yeah, we'll get to it. You don't need to know.
Snow Bike Mike
Can we get some sound on that one?
Andy
It's just him saying the word seals.
Snow Bike Mike
Seals. Yeah, seals. Tell you what, some beautiful moments, okay? And then some National Geographic stuff, okay? Because there's some boats out there. People are living on these houseboats enjoying themselves. And they had a little Pomeranian like you. I called him Admiral Peppers.
Tim Gettys
Okay.
Snow Bike Mike
Coming off of the boat to go do his little peeps and come back onto the boat. But as they're walking down the docks, what happens? Seal starts coming up. And now the question is, is, would this seal ever chomp on to Admiral Peppers? Say Peppers is barking. Yeah. From the dock at this seal. Would the seal come up, give him one of those. It was stalking it, Tim.
Tim Gettys
That's scary.
Snow Bike Mike
That seal was stocking the boat, so. Hey, damn boat owner.
Tim Gettys
You might want to be mine. Stay safe out there.
Snow Bike Mike
A blast. And then let's talk about Battlefield because it's finally the day. Ah, okay. We arrive. I got a cool video of both of the rooms. I don't know. Did you guys see the 30 minute live show presentation? Tim, the whole team, you all are gonna freak because you saw the XD walls that they had. Oh, yes, the XD walls and the ceiling. So.
Tim Gettys
So we were recording and reviewing stuff, so we didn't get to see any of this stuff. So everything's just the little glimpses from Social I've seen, and I am incredibly jealous of this.
Snow Bike Mike
You are gonna go wild here. And so this was the photo op situation for the team. But as we do this, you'll see me walk into the event.
Nick Scarpino
That's really immersive.
Snow Bike Mike
Wow.
Nick Scarpino
Those guys really know what they crew and everybody.
Snow Bike Mike
We are kind of in the same area in this giant warehouse that the team had rented out and created into the space for the Battlefield 6 live reveal. Right? And so in this first spot, you'll see that's where they had the big press briefing. You can see the two video walls on either side. There was a video roof above us and the screen. Then there was a press section where I was, and then the creator section to the left that we have video of. But of course, as we walk in, very similar to Call of Duty next that I showed you guys last year. Just this giant event space, computers as far as the eye can see only in Battlefield moments up on the wall, which was awesome. And there was my battle station to go out and play and have a good time in. But the team really did something special with these giant video walls and incorporating that into the broadcast and then also allowing us to do some really fun photo op situations. But if you watch the 30 minute showcase, you'll see Vince Zampella and the team come out and they'll go, hey, what's going on? I'm director and executive producer, blah, blah, blah. We want to show you Battlefield, but you know what? This screen is too small and they snap and all of a sudden all the walls around us just turn on and flare up into all the downtown New York area. And he's like, it wouldn't be Battlefield without some destruction. And next thing you know, you hear this helicopter flying in from behind us, crashing into buildings on all the different screens, and they're laughing, having a great time and they were so excited to showcase what they've been working on. It's real wild that we are now under Battlefield Studio, this umbrella that has four different teams working on it and trying to put out the best game possible. And to kick off with this fun presentation from Vince and the Battlefield Studios team, talking about multiplayer, talking a little bit about the campaign and really just focusing in on the big core pillars that they want to hit and showcase in. This was really, really fun and a great way to kick it off. I mean, all the content creators were there next to us. They were jazzed up. They went into their room and they had a great broadcast with Golden Boy who led that one over there.
Tim Gettys
Awesome.
Snow Bike Mike
You'll definitely want.
Andy
I'll.
Snow Bike Mike
We'll bring up that video over there. But yeah, it was a great tone setter of wow. This team at EA really believes in what they got with Battlefield and they wanted to make this Battlefield multiplayer reveal really special with a live broadcast, of course, with hundreds of press and media, hundreds of creators to go out and showcase. And we left really hype and we're going to talk more about that.
Tim Gettys
We, we are. Bear, do you have the. The social video of, of Mike doing the whole thing? Because I would like to watch that after we get back from a word from our.
Nick Scarpino
I'd like to watch it before and after. I'll be real with you. We should just bookend everything with this from now on.
Andy
Give me a sec.
Snow Bike Mike
Yes.
Tim Gettys
Thank you. Thank you very much, Barrett. But yeah, I love this and I can't wait to actually talk about the game because I got some questions.
Snow Bike Mike
Okay, we'll talk about the game.
Nick Scarpino
How is the camera moving around you?
Andy
I love when he like, like drops character and like kind of like like right here.
Tim Gettys
The millennial pause. We'll be right back after a word for from our sponsors.

Tim Gettys
We gotta hit it one more time.
Nick Scarpino
Hit it one more time. It's the grenade throw with the energy drink. That's my favorite thing.
Tim Gettys
My favorite's the. It's too loud. You know, you gotta protect the ears.
Snow Bike Mike
There we were, as you saw over in the press section, it was this massive room, and they had set up the XD photo shoot. I don't know what the term was, right? But they had this giant wrapped video wall. And then of course, they had the motion camera that you see that one guy with the long hair and all the special award show do that does the quick movements, right? So they had that there set up. And as we were setting up day one, I remember hearing over the loudspeaker, hey, creators impressed. You're now allowed to go to the XD wall and take a photo shoot. I'm jump right up. I'm first one there.
Andy
So let me get a 3D printed toy to myself.
Snow Bike Mike
You got Becca and you got Sarah over here, who was setting you up. And then you got Ben over here, who's running it, right? And I'm talking with the two girls. I'm like, all right, so what's the deal? And they're like, all right, well, we want to blow this up. And I was like, okay, what do we got? Because I'm wearing. I was wearing my athletics jersey on, and they had a whole table full of gear you could wear. So I was like, all right, let's suit up. And they're like, what do you want to wear? I was like, well, let's make it look real dope. So I got the bulletproof vest on. I got the full helmet on. I'm grabbing tear gas, and I'm grabbing an old school 90s cell phone and we're all laughing, right? And so I walk on the stage and the guy's like, all right, so the camera's gonna move. And mind you, I have this giant military helmet on with ear muffs on. I can't hear a word he's saying. And he's like, you're gonna hear a beep. And I was like, I can't hear you, so I'm not gonna hear a beep. He's like, There'll be a light right there. I'm not even thinking of the wall behind me. I had no thought at all. So everything you see here is just pure luck that this happened, because I.
Nick Scarpino
Never knew they were like, I'll just do this.
Snow Bike Mike
What? The wall was happening behind me because I'm too focused here. He's yelling, it's gonna move. And look at the light here. I'm like, all right, I guess, you know? And so I put it on, and I'm literally like, I have tear gas and a phone. And I was like, all right, I guess I'll do something with these, right? And so the first one was awkwardly looking. The second one was me chucking it. And then the third one, I wanted to call mom up, let her know I'm in the middle of a war zone. And then the final one, I did this. And somehow the camera angle is just perfect behind me where the explosion somehow just looks so good on screen. And so, yeah, I'm the first person to do this. No idea that that's how it would turn out. And look.
Nick Scarpino
Yeah.
Snow Bike Mike
And, yeah, it just worked out. That is.
Tim Gettys
Those arms are so sick. When we were building the studio before we found the jib, Nick and I were looking into this same camera thing with the track because it's like. It's specific. Like, it could actually move in, like, any way you need it to. MKBHD on YouTube has one, and that's how he gets, like, the super sick, like, tech shots. But it was like, $400,000 a lot.
Nick Scarpino
And I was like, also, it's very loud. And I was like, okay, yeah.
Andy
I also love that you call it an old school cell phone.
Snow Bike Mike
It's like the military.
Andy
The military, like, ham radio.
Snow Bike Mike
It's like the GTA Vice City phone, you know? I mean, that's how I took it.
Nick Scarpino
Okay, cool.
Tim Gettys
So, obviously, ton of fun. I want to talk about ton of fun, because I. Last night, everyone was talking about this multiplayer trailer. Like, you got to watch. You got to watch it. And the use of Limb Bizkit was inspired break stuff. So goddamn good. But obviously, Battlefield, all about the destruction. I've known that forever. I have limited experience with the. The Battlefield series, but I loved Battlefield 1. I loved those little. The vignette, like, single player story things. And then we had some fun with Battlefield 5, doing a couple streams and stuff. But watching this trailer, it seems too good to be true. This seems like the most battlefield of all time. Going back to really the. What the fans seem to want from Battlefield 4 and all of that. But like I. From all the stories you've been reading on games daily of like the expectations of this game and like, there's a lot riding on this, like for success. They need this to be by far the most successful battlefield. And all of us are like, why would they put that on this franchise at this time? Like, that's so bad. And I still think that's all bad. Yeah, but seeing this, I'm like, but does it have this stuff? The destruction looks insane.
Snow Bike Mike
Tim. When I arrived on Tuesday, as you know, I love talking to people and my first question to everyone was, what's your favorite battlefield and what are your expectations for this? And a lot of people similar to myself came in, a little concerned, a little questioning of like, does this team have it after 2042? A lot of people were like, I don't know. There's a hesitation here on the hype levels of I want this, of course battlefield and this game to be great, but I don't know if they got it. And we left that with the vibes and the hype level through the roof. Every single person that played, every person that I talked to had an absolute blast and only wanted to play more. And it speaks volumes to the team blowing out this giant reveal, having all of us there playing it live, that they believe in this and they are really nailing it from the experience that I had. Right. And so the battlefield that you know and love, Tim, has a lot of things going on in it, right? They're coming back with a campaign, something they didn't do in 2042. They have a giant multiplayer suite that players will know that's all about destruction, all about all out warfare, all about big giant set piece maps with a lot of awesome vehicles to go and ride around in. Then on top of that, they have Battlefield Portal coming back, which is that user generated content that now has like a really special revamped engine to it that will actually be able to really go to the future of creating stuff with these people. And then they teased the battle Royale at the very end, which they didn't tell us about the day one of the briefing. They like, they were like, somebody asked a question about Battle Royale and they were like, well, we're not talking about that today, we don't know, but stay tuned. And then of course the next day they show us a little teaser and it's like, oh, this is so cool. Ring of Fire is back. You know. And so yeah, they have a lot going on. But from the multiplayer experience that I Got to have with so many people. It was epic. It was awesome. It was running well. It was everything that you want from Battlefield with just so much destruction, so much mayhem and just a whole lot of laughter and fun. And so, yeah, I'm down to answer any questions and I'll give you the run through of how great this was because it feels like a return to form of Battlefield three and four. If those are the games that you kind of think back on with nostalgia. And that was. That's the desire you want from this. That is what you're getting in a modern setting. And in 2025, with all the bells and whistles that you can imagine, they're returning to the OG4 class system. You'll have Recon, you'll have support, you will have Engineer, you'll have Assault. Right, so your Assault class is all about getting into the mix. You'll have your assault rifles, you have your noob tube to tear down a wall. They also showed the Assault class with the sledgehammer and these cool ladders up to the windows. We didn't have those tools, but you could see them in there. You also have your support, which is your medic. Right. We're Defib and all of our friends, me, Nikki Grayson and Mike Huber from Easy Allies. My first time getting to be with Michael Huber ever. A lot of people brought this guy's name up and they said Mike and Mike got to get together. Never has it happened until that weekend. A lot of people, we had a blast. It was the best of times together. So much laughter from the three of us. And it's just running around Defib and your friends throwing down med packs and just having a good time. Your Recon is Andy as the sniper and then your Engineer is the people that can repair tanks there. You're kind of like, hey, there's a vehicle here. We need you to throw out the RPG and get after it. So they're returning to the classic roles and classes that everybody knows, which is very cool.
Nick Scarpino
And how many people do you have playing here in this map? Like how many people you play?
Snow Bike Mike
32 on 32 to make 64s on the big scale maps. And then they had smaller game modes which were very fun to play as well. We'll talk about. But they have your classic game modes, Conquest, Breakthrough and Rush. Those are what you know of Battlefield. Those are the big, large, all out warfare game modes that have 64 people running around. And it's just insane from capturing points. Like you see here where there's Five points and you kind of capture all the points. Reduce the tickets of the other team. Breakthrough is where you go and there's two points. One team is defending, the other team is tacking. If you capture those points, we go into the third point and the fourth point until you win or lose by getting stopped. And so, yeah, we got to see a lot of cool stuff. And we also got to see the smaller game modes, which I like, Right. I like the intimate battles within these smaller combat zones of these large maps that they could showcase. And what were those like?
Nick Scarpino
Yeah, what?
Snow Bike Mike
Death Match is a blast. So they have king of the Hill domination, just like you would expect. But they have this game called Squad Death Match, which is four or five squads of four in just a death match. I love this. So first of 50, good luck. There's four different teams out there kill each other and it's just absolute mayhem running around.
Andy
Is it first to so many kills to 50.
Snow Bike Mike
Yeah, yeah, okay. Team kills.
Nick Scarpino
Yeah, I love that because I think that the big, the big map. 32. 32, that just didn't work for me last time. I think it's just too much of a chaotic thing. And I understand that like, like we played with Bruce and Bruce really understood the sort of strategy and the mechanics and the rotations of the game and I'm just like, I don't know, that's a lot for me to wrap my head around. And also when it launched, it was a bit broken. So I'm excited to jump into some of those smaller modes with you guys.
Snow Bike Mike
We were really impressed with how it ran. We were going into servers and it was running well. We were not experiencing. I had no issues running at all. It was a lot of fun. Everything ran very smoothly. So it gives you hope. Of course, they have three beta weekends coming up this month that will kind of be like the big test worldwide, but with us with 300 plus people there all trying to ping servers and play, everything worked. It was awesome. It was flawless for us. And so, yeah, it was a lot of fun. And Nick, I think you're gonna like this one. The big all out warfare maps, Nick, didn't feel as big or as large or as you could get lost in them. Yeah, Some of the other ones from.
Nick Scarpino
The last game, yeah, I didn't love, you know, you die and they're like, okay, let's pick a different spawn point. You're like, well, we are now 40 miles away from where we were before. It didn't. It doesn't make you feel connected to the rest of the players on the map. And it kind of just to me, I was like, what is the goal here? What are we doing? It feels a little too grindy.
Snow Bike Mike
And that, that is Battlefield at its core. So that's not going away. Right. So you, you either understand Battlefield and you're into that or you're going to feel that that's where it's at.
Nick Scarpino
This is just definitely one of those, those times where I'm like, I need to put way more time into it. But I think that the tech got in the way of that last time. I think we all faded from that game very, very quickly.
Snow Bike Mike
But I was surprised because we played three large maps and I thought that, you know, when I think Battlefield, I think these really big maps where it does take a long time to hoof across the map if you're not in a vehicle and you kind of never see one side of the map. These larger maps felt smaller to me. Right. I think, you know, Stone Mountain showed it really well. When he got in the jet and kind of flew overhead, you could see the more like on foot combat zone.
Nick Scarpino
Yeah, that looks a lot more interesting.
Snow Bike Mike
Yeah.
Nick Scarpino
Because you have a lot more close quarter, like interactions here. You're obviously. I think that guy just completely clowned you out. Nobody, no disrespect.
Snow Bike Mike
Yeah, yeah.
Nick Scarpino
I mean, you were trying to melee that guy. He just puts.
Andy
He did also clown out Shotzi at one point shot.
Snow Bike Mike
See that's. That's a CDL champion.
Nick Scarpino
Oh, wow.
Snow Bike Mike
Yeah, that's a big time go right there. I, I defib Scumpy. I stole Nadeshots dog tags. That was a big deal. Ripped it right off.
Andy
Yeah.
Snow Bike Mike
Give me those Jabroni Trump voter. So, yeah, it was really cool of like, like the maps felt a little different as well. And of course there are nine maps at launch. We only saw about three, so there's a lot more to go. But there never felt like when we were playing 2042 and there was the giant tower with the spaceship with the two giant buildings. Every map that we played, the building size was probably three levels maximum. So there was never a moment where it's like, Andy, you're all the way up there. 50 levels up.
Nick Scarpino
Yeah, we kept taking the elevator up. I'm like, I don't want to get an elevator and wait in game.
Snow Bike Mike
I don't know. I'm sure they'll bring some of those. They'll probably have those. But the three that we got to experience, everything felt like ground level and just a little above, which was really cool. Right? You never felt like, oh, that guy's so far away from me. And the destructibility, Tim. Right. That's what Battlefields, bread and butter is. That's what it's known for. And all of these maps are just meant to be torn apart and absolutely ripped through. Didn't use my favorite word in video games, though. Never said Levolution 1. Wow. This time, of course, Levolution a little bit different than destructibility and destructible environments. Levolution is that one place on the map that will have something change about it and forever change the course of the map for the remainder of the game. Right. So Levolution wasn't mentioned here at all. None of the maps that we played had anything like that. Where you set the spaceship up, you blew up the dam. Or if you remember, Battlefield four, when you bring down the big tower in the middle of Shanghai. Which was cool.
Andy
Yeah. Did any of them have a large poi, like anything like that? So far, what I've seen here looks cool. It looks super close quarters. That looks like it could have just been a 4v4, you know, slayer map or whatever. But I. It doesn't. It doesn't look like what we had played prior in 2042, where there were just these, like. Are there long expanses of just like flat open ground and trees and stuff?
Snow Bike Mike
Not in the three maps that we played. This seems a lot more interesting. The three maps that we played there was only one that was really outside of a city like that. Andy. Because we played Cairo, which is what you're seeing right now. We played New York, Both of those very heavy city dens. You're in the streets moving through buildings that you would normally see. And then we went out to one.
Andy
Yeah.
Nick Scarpino
This reminds me a lot of like. I think it's Fortune's Keep.
Snow Bike Mike
Yeah.
Nick Scarpino
From like War Zone where there was a lot of like. The max verticality was three stories. You were a lot of like corridor.
Snow Bike Mike
Yes.
Nick Scarpino
Style gameplay.
Snow Bike Mike
And when we. On the mountain peak that was as far out of like over. There's like long stretches. And those long stretches were tiny. There was a lot more cover. There was more to be seen. But there was a big stretch of. It reminded me Halo with Blood Gulch, where there's just like the Sniper Alley up on the far side over there, there was a strip that was like, oh, you're on the side of the peak, you're sniping. And then the rest of it was like, oh, we're in the buildings. We're running around this small town having.
Andy
Some fun vehicle play where you do. I mean, we know you. You love that helicopter.
Snow Bike Mike
Yeah. I mean, battlefield's a, a, a tricky one when it comes to vehicle play because it's all about the spawn moment. And are you just spawn camping the vehicle? Right. So like, it is very tough in a battlefield match to constantly get the helicopter or jet fighter that you want because someone else is clicking on that. Your spawn time might not be the exact same time. So you either have to weigh. Am I waiting for this to try to click on it when it logs in or should I just go back to the game and so unfortunately, I didn't get to fly in a jet or a helicopter. I did get in the tank multiple times and an suv. It was a ton of fun. They got some cool stuff now where it's not just one, one to four people. You can have like six people and the back. Two guys jump on the back of the tank and hold on from the outside. Like you're following it with like a skateboard. It was really cool to do that.
Andy
Like gun from the back.
Snow Bike Mike
No, they had both hands on. I didn't try to shoot though, but like, yeah, you can jump on the back, which was super cool. And so, yeah, vehicles felt great, looked great. We only had one map where there was a jet fighter. Maybe only one map with a helicopter as well. Most of the time it was smaller urban environments with a tank and maybe an suv.
Andy
Was there any semblance of progression?
Snow Bike Mike
No, not with us. You could tell like there will be because there was lock stuff. But of course they had different weapon mods that you could tune up your gun in the create a class every single time you die. You can go into the four classes and select what gun you want. You can use any gun with every single class and you can modify them. They do 100 point scale. Andy, for the attachments. Okay, so each attachment is like, like, oh, the under barrel's 30 points, this one's 10 points, that one's 20 points. So you're adding up having to 100 on what you want. But that was cool.
Andy
And you're keyboard mousing out there.
Snow Bike Mike
I was full keyboard mousing it as well, Andy. I did really well.
Nick Scarpino
Congrats.
Snow Bike Mike
They got this sick revive motion now animation where when your friend is downed, you can. You grab them and can actively move them away into different cover areas while you're resting. That's cool. It's like instead of just being stuck in one spot, you can get a hold of them and move Them and it's really, really fun. It's a little complicated on keyboard mouse because you're holding E while trying to move the. The was the keys around.
Nick Scarpino
Well, you gotta remap that.
Snow Bike Mike
Yeah, I mean, I had a lot of things, man.
Andy
You played as a. You played how it lies though.
Snow Bike Mike
You know, me and Hector, we didn't want to go too far. You know, he was concerned I was gonna break the thing already.
Nick Scarpino
He's too busy calling Andy.
Snow Bike Mike
And so, yeah, I had the level. The hype levels coming out of this are so high. It was impressive. It was a lot of fun. And they have something here. They have an opportunity to bring back Battlefield in a really awesome, fun way with the campaign, the multiplayer to Portal to this battle royale. Once we learn more that I think can really land. If you're a. A fan of first person shooters, if you're looking for something new, October 10th is right around the corner. There's two open beta weekends. At the end of the month, there's a closed beta that a lot of people already got invites to. If you're part of the lab team, which was all the play test kids, if you were watching any one of the streamers, I know a lot of our, our community got to watch me and they earned free codes to get in. So it's going to be a wild month of August to see everybody jump into Battlefield and give what they think.
Tim Gettys
Is there single player in this?
Snow Bike Mike
Yes, there's single player campaign.
Tim Gettys
Okay.
Snow Bike Mike
Yes. We didn't learn anything about that. We've only seen the one. We've seen like two pieces now. So they had the one first announcement, which is, hey, company or countries from Europe are leaving NATO and America and what's left of NATO are now going up against this private military group and we gotta stop them. Right? And so that was like kind of the biggest tease you saw. We're going all over the world. We're also coming to the US in New York. And then they gave us a little bit more this time around with like some characters faces and they gave us the team name is Dagger 1 or something like that. So they said. And I, I yelled, oh, Andy, you better be ready. They're like, we want to make memorable characters. So hopefully we don't have a soap McTavish situation where Andy can remember the characters and like love them, you know.
Andy
There was a statement from one of the devs, maybe probably one of the leads in an interview recently saying we don't expect seeing Nicki Minaj in this game. We want to Keep things grounded. We're not going for all the crazy skins.
Nick Scarpino
And hey, man, if you don't have a Snoop Dogg skin or four, you're not really.
Andy
How am I gonna be Roger from American dad?
Snow Bike Mike
You know, it is so funny you bring that up, because when I talk to different creators and press and media, that was almost one of the first things they brought up was like, there's this big conversation now because of Call of Duty and, you know, Fortnite's its own beast, but really because of Call of Duty, adding in Beavis and Butthead and adding in these characters that don't quite mix with the military shooter game that, you know and love. And, like, we started to dip our toe into that with, like, 21 Savage and Nicki Minaj. But something got pushed a little bit further recently with Beavis and Butthead where it just doesn't look like it's part of the game.
Andy
Yeah, they're like, cell shaded a bit.
Snow Bike Mike
So they look very different.
Andy
There's a great meme I saw recently of, like, you know, go. One of the jokes that everybody always has about Battlefield, and it's one of the things that I definitely don't love about my Battlefield experiences is getting sniped from seven miles away by somebody that you didn't even. It's just like, you know, you got sniped, and it's like the person is, like, way the over there, and they're, like, getting sniped in. In Battlefield, in the photo below, it was the same photo, but getting signed to Call of Duty, but you just see, like, Beavis's head in the distance.
Snow Bike Mike
Like, just a big ass.
Tim Gettys
So good.
Snow Bike Mike
And so it's really interesting that that was on the mind of. Of people from press to creators, whenever I would ask, hey, what's your hype level? What's your favorite? What are you looking for? A lot of people said, I don't want these crazy, wacky skins in this game. And I think there's a real conversation that be had of, like, yeah, you didn't know that there they create. There's the community side and what you want and desire, and then there's also the business side of, like, eventually the dam breaks, where you can't keep selling the same generic camo guy. You do break into that. But. But from what I heard, there was no conversations about cosmetics with me or from the team in any of the interviews that I saw. But people did ask. It seems like in their interviews. And it seems like that team was kind of like, no, we're not doing that. So we'll see what the vibe is two years from now if that ever happens. But I think as of right now, you probably will not be seeing Scooby Doo and Shaggy in your game anytime soon.
Andy
I love the idea of a documentary of them being like, well, the real big turning point was Beavis.
Snow Bike Mike
That's where it really.
Andy
That was really where we just like, we veered too far. We jumped the shark with Beavis.
Tim Gettys
Got some super chats. Jake writes in saying, how solid did gameplay feel? 2042 felt really fake.
Snow Bike Mike
This one felt really good. Hit, registration, gun, feel, recoil, all felt great. Destructibility. And really the sound design just carried so much. Right. When you were in a building and all of a sudden the walls start crumbling down around you and. And a tank is skirting by you, it's like there's so much going into the experience that it felt good. It felt way better than 2042 and it felt like going back to Battlefield 4. And that's a special thing.
Andy
Did you have moments, like some of the moments that I really enjoyed playing the finals, where you're on the second, third floor of a building and the building is caving in and you are seeing the floor physically fall down below you and you are falling down with it. Did anything like that happen with you or was it nails being or walls being knocked out and things like that?
Snow Bike Mike
Yeah, I mean, I didn't have any moments where like I was on a second story and it caved underneath me. I definitely was in some buildings where all of a sudden the walls just like you could hear it. There's a moment where you're hearing it. It's like, oh, this building's about to crumble right now. And then everything around you is changed.
Tim Gettys
And what's causing the building to crumble? Is it other players in a tank shooting it or something?
Snow Bike Mike
Tanks, noob tubes, grenades, C4. There's a number of tools that you can use as a player to change the environment to get the advantage that you need. They showed in the big showcase. But like, if somebody's sniping you from a second story window, right, you can throw up the C4 noob, tube it and blow out the whole entire wall. And it's like, well, there goes their cover, right? Or they were on top and they were like, hey, is somebody below you or above you? Blow up the floor and either they're coming down on you or you're going to be on top of them with an advantage, which was cool.
Tim Gettys
Casper says, do you think the game will stay alive till Battle Royale comes out. And from what you played with Battle Royale fit well, you killed it out there. Mike, you're the best.
Snow Bike Mike
Thanks, homie. Yeah, I think this game is gonna find a big audience. I think this game is gonna come out with what I experienced with a whole lot of hype and energy. I think October 10th, if servers hold up, if everything that they're doing right now that I experience is there on day one, I think people are going to be blown away by what they experience here. Especially you'll see it over the next three weeks. This bat, this beta, I think will have a lot of people going, wow, this is fun. This is cool. I want to experience this. There will be people not throwing shade at Nick that will be like, hey, battlefield's not my thing. It's like, that's fine. You know what I mean? But I think people will find something to love in here.
Nick Scarpino
It wasn't that Battlefield is not my thing. It's that coming off of COD and having it be like coming off a war zone and having it actually work and be. And that being my preferred experience. It was an uphill battle to sell me on that. And I was all in for a hot second. It was just. When they launched the last one, it just did not work. Of course. It just was.
Tim Gettys
Yeah.
Andy
You cannot fumble this.
Nick Scarpino
You cannot have a game that's going to take on Warzone and have it suck.
Snow Bike Mike
Well, that also comes into Portal, right. If Portal and this user generated content is there day one or early in the life cycle. You have so many players there and you have the opportunity, like Halo with Forge, to find an audience that loves this opportunity.
Tim Gettys
Game types go crazy.
Snow Bike Mike
They have a server browser where you can find different servers to jump into. You'll have different game modes that people create. They highlighted like how the community loves to play with different things of restricting certain weapons on maps. Going one, one shot kills, building out. You saw the Only up showcase. If you watch the showcase, they build like an Only up running up the world map that like you can just create. It's very cool. So the user generated content will be a big carry in this as well for the Die Hards. And now we talk about the four studios. One of them is dedicated to this battle Royale and that's Ripple Effect. Right. They didn't show us much at all. Right. It's a.
Nick Scarpino
What do you know about the Battle Royale so far?
Snow Bike Mike
I don't. I don't know anything. There's been some. Just the teaser that you could check out from Tom Henderson and his team over there at Inside Gaming. But I haven't read a bunch of that. I haven't seen that. But all they showed us was it does seem like it's LA because there's a Hollywood mansion, there's palm trees, there's a pool and there's just awkwardly a bunch of people like running away from something off camera and they're not like quite shooting at each other. So it wasn't like a. This is clear as day about a royale. It looked like a weird like, is this gonna be a zombie thing? Like there wasn't a good. They didn't showcase it well. But then they turned the camera and it's the Ring of Fire coming in. And if you've played Battlefield before, you know when their first attempt at Battle Royale was the Ring of Fire mode, which slowly comes in so it looked. You like immediately knew, oh, it's on, right? And so, yeah, I mean the destructibility that they have, the vehicles, the large scale maps to player, you know, play modes, I think fits in really well to a battle royale. It just depends on the player base, if it's still there, how well it's received. I think there's a great chance here.
Tim Gettys
Andy, you've been pretty quiet during this episode. Are you hyped for this?
Andy
I was only hyped when a battle royale was announced that that's the thing that will get me into play for sure. I mean, I'm definitely going to play it anyways. Like, I enjoy, you know, first person shooting. I enjoy keyboard mouse shooters and I could have fun. Just I've mentioned before, it's like I. You could just put like little, you know, squares on the screen and I could just click them and go into AIM Labs and like I could find fun in that or whatever. But. But I. The Battlefield mode has never really resonated with me either. It's always, I've mentioned, it's always kind of felt like a pre game War zone lobby.
Nick Scarpino
That's a great way of putting it.
Andy
But the. And that's just different strokes for different folks. I know that like some people are like, andy, you're wrong. It's like, well, no, I'm just that I just don't vibe with that game.
Nick Scarpino
That's not your pervert experience.
Andy
It's like, yeah, it's like telling a Battle royale person to, you know, you should check out Counter Striker Valor.
Snow Bike Mike
And it's like, it's me with Overwatch.
Andy
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Snow Bike Mike
I just don't like the hero Shooter.
Andy
Yeah, it's like the that mode. I just don't really vibe with it. But seeing what we saw with the maps here, seems like a lot of those sort of more urban areas that you are kind of battling it out. That looks a lot more interesting to me than the massive wide open fields and running out of getting shot and be like, all right, I'll just spawn here again. It's like I got just kind of very, very tired. And you know that that wore very thin pretty quickly for me. But. But a battle Royale, I am 1000% in for and even the smaller game type modes. And I love destruction. I love a good sounding video game that I'm not getting shot by Cheese and Chong. You know, they're in warzone.
Tim Gettys
Are they really?
Nick Scarpino
Yeah.
Andy
Oh, yeah.
Tim Gettys
Cool.
Nick Scarpino
Everyone's in War Zone, bro.
Snow Bike Mike
I love it.
Nick Scarpino
You're in War Zone. You just didn't know we signed the contract.
Tim Gettys
I didn't know, man. Damn.
Nick Scarpino
That's fine.
Tim Gettys
We got a couple last super chats going back the to City Talk here. Ricardo says, as someone who lived there, Miami ain't it. And then Gator Mashed Potato says, as someone who, who is from Vegas, I can confirm we're just getting by. And then Samson L says, I want to play the beta, but the $100 Canadian entry price is tough.
Snow Bike Mike
Well, guess what, big dog, it's two weeks of open beta. You don't have to pay anything at all. So play the beta, see what you think, and then go from there on October 10th. But yeah, that first one is a closed beta. And then the next two to round out the month are completely open and free. So hopefully you'll be jumping in.
Tim Gettys
And final one for this is Mike, who says, I'm a videographer for the University of Michigan and one of our studios has two of those robo arms that we're filming Mike's bf6 photo shoot. Very cool. Have fun with those things, man. I'm jealous.
Nick Scarpino
Yeah.
Tim Gettys
So sick. Well, Mike, thank you.
Snow Bike Mike
I have one more.
Tim Gettys
Yeah, go for it.
Snow Bike Mike
I don't know if you know, but there was an injustice that happened this week. Earlier this week, okay. There was two consensual adults. Yeah. That consented to a trade. And this office, 99 of this office, agreed. Okay. They said, let this trade go through. Okay? Mike wants Ninja Gaiden 4. Roger wants Crimson Desserts. Okay. And so we as two adults, came together and we said, we said, hey, office, may we make this trade? I allow it.
Andy
Everybody said yes.
Snow Bike Mike
Everyone said yes to the point that there's a Reddit post. There's a change.org about it.
Barrett Courtney
Viral video.
Snow Bike Mike
There's a viral video.
Nick Scarpino
Go find me for it.
Snow Bike Mike
I mean, and, like, there's this moment here. There's even. There's footage of maybe someone changing their mind.
Barrett Courtney
Yeah.
Tim Gettys
I also.
Andy
It was interesting. I was looking through our expense reports, and I saw $5 for a voice actor named Bandy Courtneys.
Nick Scarpino
Oh, that's. Yeah.
Snow Bike Mike
Yeah.
Andy
I find very suspicious in terms of, you know, maybe altering, you know, probably unrelated. Interesting. Interesting. You think if you're trying to change someone's mind to get you to get everybody on board, maybe you wouldn't hire, you know, a trying, like, hungry voice actor to pretend to be him. Maybe you don't call him while he's on vacation with family. He has.
Barrett Courtney
I mean, what are we supposed to do? We didn't know we were going to come back. It wasn't all the calendar.
Snow Bike Mike
So.
Barrett Courtney
We just want to look to you. We just want to look to you, Barrett, right now. The real Barrett. And we just want to say that we love you. You're our best friend at the office.
Snow Bike Mike
Two consenting adults.
Barrett Courtney
Two consenting adults.
Snow Bike Mike
And, like, honestly, like, do you want.
Barrett Courtney
To stand in between two consenting adults and their business and what we do?
Snow Bike Mike
You don't want to do that. You don't want to.
Barrett Courtney
You don't want to do that. So why don't you be on the right side of history and say yes to this trade? Because today is the last day at work. So we would really love to get this done.
Snow Bike Mike
We want to get this trade done before Friday.
Nick Scarpino
Yeah. We didn't tell you. We're closing the office permanently. We will reopen Monday evening, though.
Andy
The law is the law. Unfortunately, right now, the law stands as no trades.
Snow Bike Mike
Oh, wow.
Barrett Courtney
He's a big law guy.
Andy
That they are.
Snow Bike Mike
That's crazy. Okay. Wow.
Barrett Courtney
Just know that. Yeah, hell is going to be paid.
Snow Bike Mike
Yeah. You're. You're. You guys are all like, well, is.
Tim Gettys
That a threat to all of us or just a bear?
Nick Scarpino
We are on your.
Snow Bike Mike
This is me and kcp. Oh, okay.
Nick Scarpino
I saw him Googling guns earlier. I don't know what that means.
Snow Bike Mike
Even me.
Andy
I did a perfect beard impression. I knew it.
Tim Gettys
Jiminy crickets, everybody. That something's happening. I'm not exactly sure where we're at with this right now. I know. There's no trades.
Snow Bike Mike
Yeah. It seems like this weekend, you know, moods will be different. Who knows? Not my. I'm just happy back from a code football.
Andy
You could do trades. Just, you know, all that stuff is legal everywhere.
Tim Gettys
What I need somebody to do is to listen to not the first episode we did of the fantasy critic, but the one of us doing the results from last year's because I'm pretty sure we had a conversation about the trades that's not being addressed.
Snow Bike Mike
Oh, okay.
Tim Gettys
A wrinkle that I'm not gonna go back and watch because I don't care that much.
Nick Scarpino
Right.
Tim Gettys
But I just want to kind of understand this stuff, Andy. You know what I mean? I'm trying my best. Best to critics. Confusing. But anyways, let us know in the comments below what you think about, you.
Snow Bike Mike
Know, Battlefield 6 Mike mean, KCP, KFC.
Tim Gettys
Yeah. And anyways, we're about to do. What are we doing after this? We're doing Showdown.
Snow Bike Mike
Oh, Game Show.
Tim Gettys
We're doing Game Showdown. Then we're doing this. It's gonna be awesome. I love you guys. Goodbye. Are you.
Nick Scarpino
Yes.
