A
We got it.
B
You know I'm here Blessing, great job on the notes. You always a fantastic job. So it's like I'm covered. I write down the ones that matter.

Rounding out the court said the Hispanic heartthrob Texas treat Latino heat. Clicking heads and ripping them to shreds. The Globetrot headshot and three point shooting root and tootin nitro rifle from Twitch tv Andy Cortez.
D
Good morning everybody.
A
Hi.
D
Hi.
A
How are you?
D
I'm doing well. I'm doing all right.
C
That's what I'm just for you.
B
What's wrong?
D
Yeah, you know it's just Blessing got dust bun into my head. He got me all.
C
That's my bad. I. I thought, you know I thought Nintendo would try. It's my bad for hoping for anything. Why would I hope for video games?
B
Jakes is thinking too small. Don't know.
C
Don't.
D
You're not thinking big enough.
B
He's there some Capcom, some light mountains.
A
No.
B
What are you guys talking about?
C
So my bad, you know, because I think oh, Nintendo big company one of the video game hardware manufacturers certainly they'll get the good to provide us with the goods to show us how the rest of the year is going to look like, we write down metaphor.
A
Hey, I'm out here, right?
C
Hope this happens at our partner showcase. What if we showed off the game from our biggest partner right now that's coming out this year? Actually nevermind, let's do Oblivion and say let's close. Let's close on Oblivion.
D
Yeah, yeah.
A
If you didn't know everybody, we just watched Nintendo Direct's partner showcase for February 2025 live for us. Of course you can always keep up with us Live. Twitch TV, kindafunnygames YouTube.com kindafunnygames we're live each and every day with live programming all day long. Starting with kinda funny games daily into gamescast, maybe an interview after maybe a stream. You never know what you're gonna get except we tell you all the time. And there's a show called the Buzz that keeps you posted on it.
D
Keep up with the buzz.
A
Of course we did just live react on a delay because we didn't want to get up at 6am to the Nintendo Direct showcase. We are hot off of it. We have just done it. We have not said anything other than what you've heard here. And then at the end blessing being fired up. So let's start me off. Are you going to review? You pulled this with Gary. Are you done with review scores for directs and things like that?
C
I go back and forth.
A
Toss it on. Toss a number of this.
C
I'll give it a 2.5.
B
Damn.
C
2.5 bad. Yeah. I mean they had like starting with Orbitals was such a strong start. That game is one of the games that I think most of us here, all of us here are super excited for. I think that's one of the most highly anticipated games of the year.
A
Awful. 2.5 is awful.
C
Oh, 2.5 is awful.
A
On their VC we got 1 for Gollum, 2 for awful, 3 for bad.
C
Yeah, I, I was trying to think of the words I would use to describe this or a metaphor I would use.
B
Yeah.
C
And I think the closest thing I can think of. Have you ever seen the south park episode where one of the. One of the characters I think was either Kyle or Stan or whatever. I don't even know. There's a stand. There's a stand. Okay. Either they had like depression or whatever and like they were listening to music but all the music sounding like shit.
A
Yeah.
C
You remember that episode where it's like oh yeah, he's like, oh listen to this band or whatever. He starts listening. It's like oh, it sounds like shit.
D
Yeah.
C
And it's like everything just sounds like shit. I don't know, maybe it's just the energy I'm waking up with this morning, but every game looked like shit.
A
Wow.
C
And I. This is what I'll shout out Nintendo for. Thank you. Thank you so much, Kevin. This is what I'll shout out Nintendo for sure is that they show the true gameplay, you know what I mean? Like, hey, this game is coming to Switch one. Not hiding, it's coming to Switch to. We're not going to hide how this thing looks. This is how it's authentically going to look on the machine. And that is integrity. That is authentic. And that's what all these companies should do. That said, maybe lie a little bit.
A
Just a little bit.
C
Like, these games don't. I don't think they're presenting well. I look at third party games here and I'm like, man, why would I ever play this year? This does not look good.
B
And that was the thing we talked about, right? It's like coming into the Switch 2 better hardware. You complained all Switch 1 that third party games weren't running up to where you wanted to be. Let's make the belief right. We know first party games are great here, but show me a reason why I should be investing in third party games. And then we do this, the first kind of like partner showcase of the Switch 2 lifespan. And you go, ooh, I can promise you this generation, we're not going to do that. Yeah, we're not going to achieve that goal.
C
Yeah.
A
We asked, you know, before when we were getting ready to go live with our reactions, when we were in the pre show version we had for the audience, it was like, is this going to be more new announcements or more old things coming over? And I feel like that's what we're lacking is that we're lacking that. I am. Here's Bethesda to end it. And here's something we've never said before or no one's gotten before and I know, like even a Starfield, Nintendo Switch, you'd be like, oh, okay, all right. You know what I mean? Like that's. It's leaving the Xbox ecosystem and going there, you know what I mean? To dream of a fallout, you know, three, remaster, whatever, you know, that would go over to get you, like, okay, cool. And you look through the list and it's the same way, right? It's like, yeah, Final Fantasy. Great, cool. Pragmatic. Yeah, cool. Like, I know that, like there's people who have skipped this Turok where we're like, wait, is this. Has we heard about this? Like, this seems like it need a more popping circumstance.
C
And I think the Turok thing for me is I'm almost like, man, I kind of wish this would have been a state of play. That way the game would look better.
A
Yeah.
C
Because I feel if you're first showing us or if you're showing us first new looks at gameplay for this game that was announced, we're all like, whoa, new Turok is coming back. I want to see it present in its best form possible. And I look at that and I'm like, that looks kind of good, but also I want it to look better. And I'm sure this was a different showcase. It would look better. So it's just that weird thing of what we're doing with the Nintendo Switch partner direct. I don't even know if that could even be a thing I really fault it for, because, hey, that's just what this is. But it's something that sticks out to me.
A
2.5 from Bless. For me, I'd throw, you know, jumping into this, I would throw out a four on our scale. That's meh. Like, all right, like, you know what I mean? Like, I love hanging out with you guys, obviously, so it's always fun to do that. But if somebody at all was asked, should I watch it, be like, well, no, it wasn't, it wasn't bad. But like, you could look at a list of games and see if they speak to you. Mike, where are you gonna go?
B
Yeah, I like that. Greg, I'm a little bit above you. I'm a 4.5. I'm in that meh to mediocre range. And why I'm giving it a positive here is a lot of dates, A lot of dates are coming out now a little bit later in the month this summer.
C
Right.
B
I was really impressed with like, hey, we got the dates here. And I think if I had only the Switch 2, I was, I'm happy that they showed so many games. My big critique in the downfall of this is like we talked about, it's like, man, when I see these games, I go, ooh, that doesn't look good. It's not running well. And as so many ecosystems that I own now, I'm just going to go play these third party games somewhere else. Yeah, here I am, the start of the Switch 2 life cycle and we're going to repeat the same thing I did on Switch 1. This is for first party games only. Other than that I'm not doing this right. Like I'm not gonna buy games over on my, on my Switch for third party stuff. I'm gonna play on the Steam deck, right. And that's like its competitor on the on to go stuff. And I wanted a little more here at the start of the Switch 2 life cycle.
A
Andy.
D
Yeah, I'm around a. I'm around a four or five as well, I think. But I think the saddest part is Blessing destroying Turok there. And I think Turok probably looked the best out of most of these games. Not to say that it was awesome. I think what Orbitals, of course, is a different dude orbital.
A
Yeah.
D
Area that's a whole different stratosphere, I thought. I think Sabre Interactive is killing it with what they're doing on the dev and publishing side of things. Picking the right sort of partners to sort of team up with. I thought Turok looked really damn good from a visual quality standpoint. We saw Final Fantasy look good in most spots and then you saw a lot of frame drops and you realize, yeah, this is the switch to hardware. And you know, When Final Fantasy 2 comes out, you, you know it's. Or when Final Fantasy Rebirth comes out on PS5, not even the PS5 Pro version, you know that. All right, I have quality, which is 30 frames per second and the visual quality is going to look so. So. And if I want 60, it's going to look blurry as hell. They're trying to find a happy medium. Hopefully they can continue to try to, you know, optimize a lot of these titles. But yeah, this was just a. There weren't really a whole lot of good surprises and good unknowns and usually these are good for at least a couple of those where you like, oh, we didn't know this was happening. Awesome. And I just didn't really feel that magic this time around. I am super stoked. Like Mike mentioned with the dates and hey, the Hollow Knight's available now. If you had Hollow Knight on the OG version, if you already owned it, you get the Nintendo Swift Tuber. Like I love that stuff 100%. Continue to help out the consumer that way.
A
Cherry.
D
Right, of course.
A
For doing right by them and successful thing and shout out to you of course if you want to be part of this live show, you can YouTube super chat YouTube.com kind to funny games with your thoughts, opinions, the games that stood out to you but most importantly your review scores right now I want to know where you are on the barometer. A
takes and do it.
B
Then we'll cycling fake names tomorrow will
A
be all about so many fake names for the hot takes. Tell me of course what you if you're especially an audio listener listening later what you thought of this direct. But more importantly what you want out of a partner direct. What could Nintendo do and are they selling you Give me Nintendo 3rd party overall Hot takes. Not just about the direct which we're kind of covering today. Of course. Thank you for our Patreon producers making this happen on patreon.com kindafun that's Carl Jacobs, Omega Buster and Delaney the Psalm twining. For now, let's begin with what is and forever will be topic of the show. Let's go through it game by game, topic by topic to give everybody a thorough review of a direct. We didn't enjoy that much. It starts with Orbitals which again, fuck yeah. Let's stunning a two player co op adventure. Of course we've seen it before. The more I see of it, the more I love it. Andy, what did you call it in terms of genre?
D
Haze.
A
Like a haze.
D
Like it looks so damn good. I mean when obviously the level of quality and love put into these 2D animated cutscenes are phenomenal.
A
Yeah.
D
It just feels like you are watching an anime from the 80s. It's so impressive visually. And that's like. That's not cheap to do. Like that takes a lot of work and effort to make something look that good in quality. But then to have the gameplay emulate the art style so perfectly as well and it looks fun showing us. Well, I'll tell you one thing I really love about these is, you know, as much as we kind of make fun of the narrator guy doing the different genre voice changes, which is like you kind of have to. I understand it. But I do love them showing off. And with this ability, this is what you're happening. It's almost like we're not just showing you trailers, we are also kind of informing the audience as to what the gameplay experience will be like. And it looks amazing.
A
If you're an audio listener, of course. This is being created by Shape Farm about Orbitals on their page reads grab a friend and launch into Orbitals, an intergalactic two player co op adventure set in a wholly new Retro anime world team up as Maki and Ohmura, two inseparable explorers with a whole lot of determination. With more determination than experience. You'll brave the perils of space in search of help for their crumbling station home. Now trapped within a supernatural cosmic storm, our duo must venture beyond the storm and into the unknown in a desperate bid to save their home. It'll take brains, bravery and teamwork to make it through. I can't fucking wait. Mike. This looks awesome. This looks like the narrative chops that I also want out of the haze games we're usually talking about. We're talking about Joseph Ferris over there at Hazelight.
B
Yeah. I mean this was a very strong way to kick off the partner direct, right? I think this is a game that everyone, once you see it, you get excited about it. You automatically know it because Joseph Ferris and his team over at Hazelight have done a fantastic job putting these co op games on the map.
D
Right?
B
And I asked the question during it of like, what is it going to take to make this game great? Right? Because we know that Joseph Ferris and his team have nailed that. Right? But maybe some of the themes and the tones don't really hit you that hard. And that's what has happened for me during Split Fiction and it takes two. And so when I see a game like this, I'm like, oh, I love all the co op gameplay stuff. It's the story that doesn't hit for me to click. For me, I want something different. And I instantly see this and I go, yes, this is what I want. Right. And so me and Nick currently coming off of army of Two. I want to see more games explore this category once again, this fun shared split screen co op adventure. Maybe on your couch, shared with a friend, but like playing a third person over the shoulder shooter with Nick has been a ton of fun. I hope we see more of these and this team is going to knock this one out of the park.
C
The thing I really want is a demo. I really want to give hands on the sticks. I think this game looks fantastic and I think you guys addressed it right. This is bringing something that it feels like, you know, he's like, of course brings the quality. But yeah, to your point, is it a world I want to exist in? I look at it takes two and I like that world. I like the story. I thought it was goofy. I'm not going to give it a, an Oscar for best writing or anything like that, but it's a really fun world to live in. Split fiction. I think there are elements of it that are fun. But I think overall there's something about it where it's like, ah, the more I exist in this world, the more there's something left to be desired. I immediately, immediately, immediately look at this game and I go, oh, I want to exist in this world. That said, how's the gameplay gonna live up? I think the gameplay looks fun from the trailers, but if we're gonna do the compare and contrast thing, I still look at Hazelight as like, top tier in terms of gameplay design and moment to moment. Switching things up and giving players fun things to do. That's not easy. That's a really tough thing to live up to, but I hope they're able to do it. I think there's potential there.
A
Looking at what we saw there in gameplay mechanics and what you're doing. Yeah, yeah. I don't need it to be switched up dramatically. Like, I think Hazelife does that so well. I love that about it. I want to be so invested in their story that from whatever bit to bit, trying to fix up this space station, I don't need it to feel like I'm in a different world as much as I'm just doing something fun. But even if the core mechanics were the same five things repeated throughout, I think I could get behind that with what I'm looking at.
B
Yeah, I wonder how that feeling will feel because, yeah, bless, I'm with you. It's like we're on game three with Hazelight. They have now refined, they've experimented, now they're trying new things. Right. It's like, what will it be like? Maybe going back to square one with a new team and it's like, yeah, we only repeat the same three to five Things will that quickly go, oh, man, like, you have everything I wanted. You just weren't there. And that's my little concern of this.
C
Yeah, I think that might be a little. A bit. I think that people might underrate a little bit is how good that gameplay is in split fiction.
B
Right.
C
Moment to moment, you are having a good time when you're stepping into this with a new team and you haven't done something like this before.
A
Yep.
C
You're. I think people are gonna. I think there's a chance people might pick this up and go, oh, okay, like, the story's fun, the characters are fun, but yeah, like, the gameplay, I'm bored. Or the gameplay isn't living up to this thing that I just came off of that we gave 8 out of 10. Even though it's, you know, amazing gameplay I'm shocked.
D
You didn't get to play this at the Nintendo thing.
C
No, they didn't have it there.
D
That's really surprising.
A
Do you want to at the time? I mean, where to get to those games eventually. What was the Nintendo thing? Bo us.
C
So last week went to New York. Nintendo invited out press and creators to preview some of the games that are coming out in 2026 that they've already announced. And so I got to play a handful of games. The ones that were shown off here that I got to play are Pragmata and Resident Evil Requiem. But also got to check out Mario Tennis Fever, Virtual Boy, Mario Wonder, plus Bella Bell park in another game that I can't talk about. But yeah, for now, I'm. I'm excited to talk about.
A
We got a gamescast on the book for next week with IGN's Logan plant to come by and talk about what you guys saw in New York. So that'll be exciting. From Orbitals, though, we move to a thing. They're like, yo, these are Switch 1 games, and there was just two of them. We started with Paranorma Sight, the Mermaid's Curse. How far would you go to survive a curse? Unravel a captivating supernatural mystery through multiple viewpoints in this brand new Paranorma Sight tale. Set in the coastal region of Japan, this original standalone story introduces new atmospheric locations, supernatural legends, and a new cast of characters to experience as players navigate the chilling mysteries surrounding the mermaids of Eye or Eyes. The Mermaids Curse launches on Nintendo Switch February 19th. Pre orders, of course, begin today. I'm with you, Blessing. As you were in this show. I look at this and I go, man, that looks like a cool little detective game that I don't think I'll ever make time for.
C
Yeah, yeah. Again, I like the idea of these games, and I really hope that these games find an audience because I want people to keep putting out neat detective stuff because every now and then, there's one that breaks out and then makes its way to me. You know, I started playing Return of the Obra Dinn a couple weeks ago, and I was like, man, this is such a cool game. But, yeah, like, I feel like you need the hardcore audience of these things to, you know, have games to speak to them. That way they can support them. That way we can get more of them. And so, hell yeah, for the devs that are. That are putting this out, I'm curious for y', all, like, does this hit for you guys in a direct?
B
I mean, the direct. No, I think you said so. Well, I was like, who's playing this? Right. I never meet anyone who's like, I play this. But last year we had blueprints that put me back into a shot.
A
You in the chat. I actually plan to check this out.
B
Okay, well, here's what I was just gonna.
A
We love you, Chachu.
B
Last year I got really big into blueprints, which got me back on the puzzle stuff.
D
Right.
B
We had, of course, the Onion detective movies that have been the Blast. And it's like one of those of like, I'm on my detective right now.
C
Check out that murder of Sans Blake, man.
B
So it's like, these are the games that I do want. Just like Bless says, like, I want an awesome detective game. Right. But I probably need someone to play this and be like, mike, this is worth your time. Right. Because when I look at it, I go, that's not something I'm gonna just try and pick up now. The catch is this comes out February 19th, which is like next week to two weeks from now.
A
Yeah.
B
Kind of quiet period. This is like a moment where it's like maybe you dabble. You try something really quick. And so yeah, it is something of like, I look at that and go, I'd like to try a fun detective game. I don't know if this is going to be that, but you might have me to give it a try.
A
Okay.
D
Yeah, I think we're always good for a couple of those. On these Nintendo directs, there's always a, you know, a Japanese game that you aren't really used to seeing on large stages like this. There's always a sort of. What. What's the one with the little bear? The little like, thing and Rampa. Yeah, like we're always going to get a couple of these and they just never quite break out enough for me to want to give a shot.
A
Yeah.
D
Especially with how packed our schedules normally are.
A
Anyway, this one being Supernatural, I like, I missed the first paranormal side. I hadn't even heard of it. Honestly, I probably did, but I don't know anything about it. This one looking in the Mirror, the Seeing yourself. Like, I like the story beats they showed in that trailer enough that to Mike's point, if like for some reason around that week it is quiet, I could see me kicking it on. But then it goes into, how long is this game? What am I doing? When are we getting res, Evil Requiem, etc.
B
Etc.
A
Etc. From there. The other Switch, one game they made a big deal about was Captain Tsubasa 2 World Fighters. You knew it Right away I said it's a soccer game. And you said, oh yeah, Captain Tsubasa.
C
Very. It is very popular series of anime, I believe adapted into video games. Because I've seen these Captain Tsubasa games on the PlayStation Store all the time. Yeah, they have an audience right there that flock to these games, but it's not necessarily my thing.
B
What is this is just like, like FIFA type soccer where it's like active playing or is this like a turn based soccer?
C
I think it's more turn based. I don't know much about. Almost like maybe more like blitzball. You might be into this. Okay. This might speak to you.
B
Hold the phone now.
D
Yeah, I look holographic bulldozer on this.
B
But then at the same time there's one guy doing a spin move past another guy. It's like, what is the gameplay of these games? I've never tried them, you know. Okay.
A
From there we went into a giant group of Switch 2 games, starting with Tokyo Scramble. Tokyo Scramble, an interesting one. A mysterious and challenging survival puzzle action game set deep beneath Japan. Coming exclusively to Nintendo Switch 2. You're in a train accident. You go into an undercover world. Four players can control the one character. It does not look good, but it's coming out February 11th.
D
Dude, this looks so rough, man. I. Part of me was hoping that this was a. The type of game that is, you know, looking amazing on the other platforms or whatever. And here it's just like kind of dialed down. But man, it's just this game looked the most rough the most times with so many of the shots that are popping up and you're like, man, you just can't even put a little light source in there. It's just really, really rough looking.
A
Yeah. Not a, not a, not a positive showing for this one.
B
This game releases in six days.
A
Yeah.
B
And I can make you a promise that I'm gonna play this game one time for the lulz.
A
Thank you.
B
It's just simply for the lulz. And that will be.
A
You gotta make Nick play it with.
B
But like I, we, I. If I can put a day on this calendar for me and Nick to try it, we will. But like this is one of those games you see and Andy starts hemming and Han. And then I go in myself. I'm like, there are people that review this. And we don't go, we don't got Nandy in the room that goes, hey, Mike, doesn't look good here. Can you change that trailer? And I go, let's change that right away. God, like for the whole minute and a half. And it's like you're showing your hard work. You're show game. We can't be putting it out like that.
D
Yeah.
A
And it's.
D
I don't know this. I just wish that whenever devs are working on games that are trying to go for a realism look, like you have to be really self aware that your game has to. There are other art styles you could sort of take and other art directions you could take that can make the most out of the hardware you're using. And if you don't have the hard. If you don't got the horsepower to push these visuals, then it's gonna look really, really bad. When you're trying, when your character looks as real as they do.
A
Yeah.
D
But then when everything else sort of falls around it, it just, it just looks like a weird. Like there's something's off here, you know.
B
Now what about the lulls of four player though? Like, let's circle back. Like that's an interesting one.
D
What are the.
B
Oh, Kevin, I don't know if you
A
had that scrub to the very end when they're talking about game chat. So small though, I see cg. Yeah. Of like one person's running. There it is.
C
That's it right there.
B
Kevin.
A
You got boom, pause. One person's doing movement, one's doing action, one's doing the apps and one's doing the camera.
B
Insane.
A
And the camera alone is insane. I'm like, imagine you're playing game. Someone else is spinning the stick around.
D
Like, this is a Switch to exclusive. This is a Switch 2 exclusive. This wasn't something that was put out on other platforms to look and it looked great there. But they got to pare it down for the Switch. No, this is like only on the Switch. They've only ever seen this version of it. Like I. There's just like a. We got to be honest with ourselves and go, man, this needs way more time. Or is this just something you're putting out next week because hey, we need some funding back for the next game. Like I, I look at this game, I'm like, I couldn't recommend this to anybody.
C
I think I start to wonder about curation for Nintendo specifically of like you're putting out these directs that are going to filter out to. I won't say the bulk of your audience because not everybody watches the directs, but like your most hardcore audience is going to watch this and you're hoping at that. Hundreds of thousands if not millions of views and eyes end up on this thing. What is the conversation there as far as what gets included and what doesn't get included? Because I think that becomes my beef more so with a direct like this versus other showcases where I'm like, I feel like there's so much downtime of games where it's. I'm not gonna say nobody's gonna play this, but most people watching do not care about this. In fact, see this and start to think less of the overall thing.
D
And we also have to kind of understand that, like, if you bring up the trailer Again, Kevin, the Switch 2 hardware is a little bit more powerful than the launch PS4 with. And there's a lot of like, optimization. There's a lot of like, advancements that have been done to the chipset. This is. It's a capable machine, man. And like, if you put out a game that looks like this on a launch PS4 or whatever or, you know, like. Yeah, I just think of. It's not an easy comparison, but I think of how like Uncharted 4 looked and that was a long time ago. That's Naughty Dog. That's not the best comparison. But holy, man. Like this. If this was also on Switch 1, I'd go, okay, well, maybe we're seeing the Switch 1 version now. Show us the Switch 2 version. It's just like there's no excuses to have a game in 2026 look like this when your machine is not the Switch one anymore, it's the Switch two. You're. It's capable of more. Let's optimize a bit more. Let's take some more time.
A
Chat called it out. It's already gone, I think. But yeah, front and center on this, the eShop, when you drop. There it is. You got Mario Bundle, you got Mario Tennis, you got Tokyo Scramble and Final Fantasy Rebirth.
D
And this is, this is even like the worst part of the game.
C
But like, what's happening here? Here is it clipping through her?
D
It's like it's. It's going to eat her, but like,
C
it doesn't bite her.
B
There's no.
C
You know what I mean?
D
Yeah, I don't know, man.
C
It like, I think it clipped through her.
B
Oh, man.
D
And I'm pretty sure that these are the devs that made the Ender Lies and Ender Magnolia game. And those are awesome. Metroidvanias. Unless it's like a publisher type thing where it's like half studios working on this or whatever. But it's just. It's just a rough sort of thing to show off when it's only on Switch 2.
A
Yeah, that one sucks. You hate to see it develop. So. Okay, so the publisher, Binary Haze Interactive developer is Ad Globe Incorporated.
D
Okay, okay. Is that.
A
Is that who they were?
C
No.
D
I looked up Binary Haze and all I saw was the Ender Lilies and Ender Magnolia franchises, so I assumed it was a publisher.
A
No, according to this, for Ender Lilies, it is Binary Hazes publisher, developer, Ad Globe Incorporated.
D
Okay, gotcha, gotcha.
A
I'll tell you, Ad Globe Incorporated doesn't inspire confidence when you hear that on anything. Anyways, from there we moved on to Valheim, a survival game you boys have loved for become one of Odin's chosen warriors and survive the monster infested realm to earn your place in the halls with the world renowned Viking exploration game Valheim. Players can brave the adventure alone or with up to nine friends online to discover a beautiful procedurally generated world of land and sea. Fully optimized for the Nintendo Switch 2. Including the support for Joy Con 2 mouse functionality and HD rumble 2 players can build mighty Viking halls, create new gear, or cook meals to prepare for mighty skirmishes to come. It will come this year in 2026.
B
Yeah, this is a big announcement. This is a. A top 10 survival crafting game. And it's probably not five through 10. Yeah, it's probably up in the top half there. 10 player online is always fun. The big catch about this is like you're getting almost the ultimate edition of Valheim when you think about it, right? Like these games come out early access on PC. They sit there for months, years, they continue to iterate, they continue to add on and workshop and get better and better. And now it comes to your console here on Nintendo Switch. This is a big announcement. This is a really fun one. I think it will find a really good home on Switch on this one.
D
Yeah, I. This is a. Yeah, Mike kind of just nailed all of it. It's a game that's kind of still in early access, I believe. I don't know if it's fully hit 1.0 yet, but they've had a shitload of updates. The, the game's been in development for a long time, you know, constantly talking to fan base or their fan base and improving it where it needs to be improved. But it's an awesome little, very lo fi looking, procedurally generated survival game with cool mechanics, awesome building. Combat's great. When we talk about, you know, how the archery works and how, you know, you could also just do melee if you want and you have your little parry you have your dodge roll and it's not. I think my favorite thing about it is how it's not one of these aimless survival games. Yeah, it's not a. One of these aimless survival games where you hop in and you go, okay, but like, what am I doing all this for? There are. There's a very good structure to it of there are these, like six or eight really big beings that you have to do these forest spirits, whatever they are, and you have to gather the stuff in order to summon them. And then the big boss fight happens and that will progress your story. But while you're doing that, you can also be, you know, chopping your trees, building your buildings and all sorts of stuff, kicking Mike out of your house.
B
This one. Who puts the beehive in front of my house? Yeah, this is a good one.
D
Nick got really mad at Mike because Nick was in the top. Nick didn't want to build a house. So Nick was in the top floor of Mike's house. But the campfire kept. Kept killing him because the smoke would rise to the top of the top floor and he kept dying.
B
And he was getting on this trailer.
D
He was getting really pissed off in bike. It was a great time. Like, this game was awesome with friends.
B
This is one of those, like, you know, I saw it in the chat. There are so many of these games and there are. And myself and Andy have played a number of them. And I'm being real with you. This is a top five survival crafting game. This is one of the better ones. So if you're looking to dabble or try or you've already played it like so many of you had, this is the one to jump into. There's a number we would recommend and this one would be on that.
A
I've been doing some Googling, obviously this is breaking news with it coming here. I can't find anything about cross save, but I guess Xbox to PC supports cross save or vice versa, so. So hopefully you'd have whatever your Valheim account is and be able to bring over what you've done and go from there. After Valheim, it was Hollow Knight Nintendo Switch 2 Edition. Time to forge your own path, explore twisting caverns, battle tainted creatures, and solve ancient mysteries at the kingdom's heart, all from the comfort of your Nintendo Switch 2. With higher resolution, improved frame rates, and additional effects, Hollow Knight Nintendo Switch 2 Edition lets players experience a classically styled 2D action adventure set across a vast interconnected world. Hollow Knight Nintendo Switch 2 additional launches on Nintendo Switch 2 today People who already bought it on the original Nintendo Switch can upgrade the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition for free with the upgrade pack. What you want to hear? Great job, Team Cherry.
D
Yeah, awesome stuff. You know, when the game was on Switch 1, obviously you're playing 720in handheld and I think it went up to 1080p docked. But yeah, you're getting the full up resed version of it with the uprest assets. It's not just a, hey, let's scale it up. You're getting, you know, the way the game is played best, you know, because they put out that big patch recently which also let you play ultra wide screen, which is kind of part of this whole effort to, hey, let's modernize it a bit more and let's, you know, get players with newer devices in their hands looking at our old game. Yeah, the best way possible.
A
Anybody gonna go back to it?
C
I'm.
D
I'm always eyeing it down.
B
Yeah. I think I'm the one on the table who hasn't played these two games. Right. So it's like, think one day I'll jump into it. I don't know if the Switch version is going to be my ideal way, but one day I'll jump into it from there.
A
We moved into E Football kickoff. It's coming in summer 2026. Experience the passion.
C
You weren't happy? Well, no, because E Football sucks. Well, that's why I wasn't happy about it.
B
I don't think we got FIFA on Switch yet. So I'm always a fan of like on my old Switch. I want the Maddens, I want the FIFA's, I want the NBAs. Right. So like I always have a massive push for my shout out to the Vita back in the day. Greg. I want sports games on my handheld. So anytime we can take a step towards getting more sports games that are the normal sports games we play at home, I'm all about that.
C
I think EAFC is on Switch.
B
You think so?
C
I'm pretty sure. But it was the thing. I remember IGN reviewing it every year and they would give it the same review because they were like, yeah, just copied and pasted it. And so we're just gonna copy and paste our review.
A
I don't know if it's still AFC is on Switch. There is a Switch 2 version of 26 as well.
C
Yeah.
B
Do we ever have faith that this finally gives them a run for their money?
C
No.
B
Never once.
C
No. I used to. I mean, back during the prime Pro Evolution soccer days, there was a time where Pro Evolution Soccer was on top. That was the number one. And then towards, I want to say, Maybe beginning of PS4 era, maybe like late PS3, Xbox 360 era Pro Evo just started losing their way. Then they rebranded to E Football, went free to play. The games only got worse from there. Yeah, and now we're. We're here with it.
D
Okay, I just keep watching this Tokyo Scramble trailer.
A
Just don't stop. Stop watching it. Instead, let's watch the trailer for the Adventures the Millennium Tales. Embark on a perilous journey to lift a curse and save a kingdom. A journey that will unfold across four ages in the Adventures of Millennium Tales. In this new single player action RPG from the team behind Octopath Traveler, players will control Elliot the adventurer and his fairy companion Faye, to experience a gripping tale full of action, exploration and heart. With seven weapon types to wield, customizable magicite upgrades to experiment with, and Faye's powerful fairy actions, players can begin their journey when the Adventures of Elliot the Millennium Tales launches on Nintendo Switch 2 June 18th. I can't wait.
B
Yeah, say a bunch of nice things about it.
A
I mean, it looks great. This is a great trailer for it.
B
I looked it up on my fantasy critic.
A
My only trepidation is that.
D
No, you do talk about.
B
You have it. He's got a different hat.
A
My only trepidation is that Andy I know, didn't love the demo.
D
I mean, it was mainly just how the. The combat felt. It. It felt very much like kind of old school Zelda where you. You just tap the X button and you just kind of like hit, yeah, sword. And I was hoping for a bit more there, but it obviously art style looks amazing. And I know I'm gonna get JRPG'd here. You all crushed it. Like when you all made that prediction that when I counter picked it, y' all were like, Andy, you're gonna get JRPG'd because this game's going to come out and get like an 89. And that's probably going to happen because I think the game does look really awesome. I just, you know, based on that demo, it wasn't giving me the most amount of confidence.
A
Yeah, okay, fair enough. I can't wait. Obviously. Quite the pedigree. Looks awesome.
C
This is the one I think I'm going to hop into as well. Live Alive was the last one of these that I really saw all the way through and beat, I think because of the combat system. I really want to see this one through. It looks amazing.
A
Fair enough. From there, it was the Super Bomberman collection and Mike lost his mind.
B
I think this drops today, right?
A
So yeah, collection, yeah, is out. It launches on Nintendo Switch today.
B
This is one of those fun ones of like when you see a game that you identify with, that you get excited for and you hear it comes out today, it's like, hell yeah, that's what I wanted. Right? And yeah, Bomberman's hold always hold a little place in my heart of like, I've played some and I've always enjoyed it. I'm not the biggest Bomberman guy, but. But I. I like this. I enjoy this and so I'm gonna get this.
A
Of course it's going to be a collection featuring seven titles with 12 versions, including previously unreleased localized versions of Bomberman 4 and Super Bomberman 5, including Boss Rush Mode. Yada yada yada, blah blah blah, blah. I'm glad you're excited, Mike.
B
Yeah.
A
From there it was Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth coming out. Finally getting a date too for this version. You can play Final Fantasy VII Rebirth on June 3rd.
C
Oh yeah. This was because I knew Final Fantasy 7 Remake, of course, has been the talk of the town for the Switch two in the last half year.
A
Yeah.
C
Did we already know Rebirth was coming? I forgot whether or not they announced that.
A
I can't remember if it was an official announcement or it was the usual we just saw like, oh yeah, it's gonna make it.
C
Because they could have been. Maybe they were like, oh yeah, all the Final Fantasy games are coming, whatever. But this one caught me off guard. I guess. I don't think we've seen gameplay at the very least looks good. I. I feel like remake, when we've seen that at like a PAX or whatever, remake looks so good. And of course I'd be realistic. This is the Switch 2 that it's running on. And so as I watched this trailer, I'm like, ah, this looks more foggy than I want it to look. But yeah, it's still Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. So that's awesome.
D
Yeah, you're definitely right. I was just of the mind that we already knew this was happening.
C
Yeah.
D
And yeah, so this being a brand new announcement is really cool and that's kind of a big announcement. But I, because they are older titles, I just always sort of mix them up with Remake and Rebirth.
A

and we're back and we move to the next game showed Pragmata or Pragmata as they said it A little bit. Yeah, didn't see that coming. Didn't see that coming. Of course you can get it on April 24th. The demo is available today. Explore the all new science fiction action adventure from Capcom set in the near future. Spacefare Hugh Williams and Android Diana must escape a lunar research station and find their way Back to Earth. We've previewed this since sgf. I've talked about the hacking and this and the other, and we've all played at different places and done stuff. Blessing. You went and played it on Switch too?
C
Yes, I played it on Switch 2. And this might be one where we might have to bring up the Resident Evil Requiem discussion. I know that's later in the show that.
A
Fuck it, we can do whatever we want. Tim's dead. Okay. Don't worry about it, Rip.
D
Bye, Tim.
A
We also saw, of course, Resident Evil Requiem coming out on February 27th. There's gonna be a pro controller and Grace and Leon Amiibos coming later. That was more the news than anything else about that. Thank you, Roger.
D
Thank you, Roger.
A
Love you, Roger.
D
Roger.
C
Yeah. The reason I wanted to bring up Resident Evil is because I played both of them back to back. So, like I mentioned before, went to New York, went to this Nintendo event, and they had stations set up with a handful of different games that they have coming out this year. And kind of next to each other, like, kind of across the way from each other were Pragmata and Resident Evil Requiem. I started off with Resident Evil Requiem. Between the two, sat down, played it on tv. The demo that we played was the same devil I believe a lot of people in the press have played. It was one that they showed around Gamescom time. No, Mike played a two hour demo.
B
Yeah, two to three hours. Yeah.
C
This is the one that me and Tim played. It's more of a 20 minute one. You're playing as Grace Ashcroft. I believe it's the beginning of the game when you first, you know, you. You like wake up, you take like an IV out of yourself. You have to like find the light, and then you run into this big scary ass beast that's coming after you.
B
Oh, okay.
C
And I played the demo two more times. I played it once at the Gamescom event, I played it two more times at Nintendo because I enjoyed the demo that much and also because I wanted to play it on TV and then play it on the handheld. Yeah, on tv. Looks great, right? Ran? Great. I was very, very impressed by the way this, this game looks both just in terms of how it runs, frame rate, frame rate wise, but then also just visuals. Looks beautiful. I would describe it on TV as perfect, perfectly recommendable. And then I moved on to the handheld and that's where I was like, oh, this is fantastic. This game. If you are somebody with a Switch 2 and you're thinking about maybe playing this game on Switch 2, I could not recommend it more. Lighting looked fantastic. Frame rate, smooth as hell. Like, I'm not. I'm not good at eyeing frame rates, but I would say it felt like 60, you know, like, it was way smoother than I would have expected it to be on this system. Felt perfectly optimized. Now, I wanted to bring this up in relation to Pragmata, because then I went on to Pragmata and had the opposite experience. And I was absolutely shocked because I'm like, both these are Capcom big AAA games that are coming out this year. Of course, Resident Evil is Resident Evil, so it's bigger. But, you know, hopping into Pragmata, it was a similar thing. This was very close to the demo that I played. I think also around gamescom time, if
D
I had probably the same demo that's
A
available right now, I was gonna say, I'm gonna download the demo right now.
C
That's a good point. Yes. Like the one that we've all played, I can't. So hopped in there, went through the same sort of sequence that I played before where you get into combat and you're looking for the things to unlock the door. And it runs fine. It's like, it's recommendable enough if Switch is the place you like to play games or the one of the only places you can play games. Hey, I would say Pragmata playable, ran smooth enough. It just didn't. It didn't live up to, like, how well Resident Evil ran for me. Right. Like, there are moments of gameplay where I'm like, oh, man, the frame rates kind of dipping here, the resolutions not living up, especially in places where there was a lot of action going on, where it felt like frame rate was getting down to, like 30 and maybe even sub 30. And I played a little bit of it on the handheld. I played a little bit of the tv. And, yeah, it didn't look as great. But also, I'm not gonna say it looked awful by any means. You know, I mean, if you're. Again, if you're somebody who likes to play on Switch to. You can make it happen here. But I was. I was let down by it, especially compared to how well Resident Evil looked.
D
I feel like they can maybe get it down a little bit better. Because one thing I was really impressed with, playing Pragmata. I mean, the word is pragmatic, so it does kind of make sense. Pragmatic, Pragmata.
A
Yeah. But I don't care.
D
And the Nvidia guy said Pragmata as well.
A
Webster wrote it down. And then I get to say it how I want, and that's how it is.
D
But it's pragmata a word.
A
Well, no, but stigmata is nice. That's where you get the Jesus holes in your hands and feet.
D
Everybody remember that movie? I remember that.
A
I'd never forget. I'll tell you, as a kid trapped in Catholic school, you're like, that's cool. You gotta grab on to what you could grab on. Like, that's cool that you could get stigma.
D
The.
C
Wow, that's a wild way.
D
I will say playing. Playing the game on PC and playing other RE engine games on PC. I'm always let down by how they look and run because they're rarely optimized very well for PC. But the Pragmata demo looked and ran amazingly on PC. So I was like, oh, maybe we've turned a corner. You know, maybe we're leaving Monster Hunter Wilds issues in the past. Maybe we're leaving freaking Dragon's Dogma two issues in the past. We're getting better at optimization. So there's a chance that, that when the game fully comes out, it might have a really big improvement. I hope, I hope so, because it. I was very shocked by how high I had the settings on for being a demo and how, you know, the frame rate was just like. I was getting like 100 something frames. It was really, really impressive.
C
That said, replaying both these demos, damn, these are gonna be some good games. Yeah, Resident Evil especially, I like, I'm. I can play that demo 100 times. It's so crazy how good that 20 minute portion of the opening of the game is. Pragmata. I wrote down in my notes. It feels like a Focus M ass game. I don't know if you guys remember the Focus meme that was making his rounds a month ago. It kind of had a little bit of that energy, but I with it. It was one of those ones where it's like, you know, the. What's her name, the girl? Diana. Yeah, Diana, like said something of like, you know, I forget. Exactly. It was like a tutorial kind of thing of, oh, they're coming, we gotta fight them or something like that. And I was like, break down the shield.
B
Yeah.
C
And I was like, you know what? Oh, it's a new hell yeah.
D
Yeah, you know, let's. Let's do it.
C
You know, I am all for it
A
at 10 to 12 hours. Yeah, I. Yeah, I'm all for it at 8. Oh, you know, I mean, like, that seems like that kind. I. I don't know. I've Said in my pre. My previews and talks about this of like let's get. Show me something beyond the space station or don't. And that's a big surprise. But it's like don't. I don't feel like I'm gonna love this for 30 hours. Let's.
D
This is a 15 plus hour game. It's probably. I'm in overstaying its welcome, I would say.
B
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
D
I don't want it. I don't want it to be around the 20ish hour mark.
C
I want to see how the gameplay stuff with the hacking develops because for some of what we saw in that trailer where he busted out like an area of effect that people up. If they can give me enough variance with that, you might be able to push it to 15. Yeah, 15. 20 for me.
B
Now you guys are going to play Resident Evil a fun way. Can we tell the audience?
A
Sure.
B
What are you guys going to do at the end of the month?
C
Yeah, you can tell.
D
You and Rogers make us do. So me and, me and Blessing are going to be doing a big old marathon stream playing through Resident Evil Requiem for the first time.
A
February 27th. That's launch day. Friday, 27th launch day.
D
I'm just not. It's my birthday month. I don't know why you would do this.
C
Saturday you're gonna have me be in the office possibly on a Saturday. If they push us that far. Yeah, yeah.
D
You know, stupid.
C
And it's like I don't. I like to sleep, you know, by 9:30pm If I'm not under my blankets. I'm cranky. Yeah. And so you're gonna have me do that?
A
You're playing volleyball. 8:45 every time.
C
Volleyball makes me happy. Be, you know these monsters that are scaring me. I don't know.
B
I love that he's falling in love.
D
I love that Bless can also just be like, all right, stream's over. 12 second drive home. Meanwhile, I gotta, you know, like I'm just not looking forward to this whole experience.
A
You're gonna have a great time. It'll be fun.
C
I'm gonna make Andy play the scary parts.
A
I want you to platinum it. That's my thing. Get it, go through and get every achievement, you know.
C
I like that.
A
I hope that they run you that long on it.
D
I want you to.
C
Andy, you are down to play the Shut my ass. And you're down to play the grace parts and I can play the Leon parts, right?
A
Oh, that's fun.
D
Keyboard mouse. I'm a shooter, dude.
C
I mean, shooter is Grace. You know, she can do first person.
D
Leon's action guy.
C
Yeah, I mean, I'll be the action guy.
D
I don't know why you're turning around the original plan.
C
You hold down.
B
You hold down.
D
How much do you love this demo? You love this demo so much you could play through it all.
C
But yeah, just that demo, though. Because I know what the demo is. I know it was scary there.
D
Yeah.
C
The first time I played that demo, the amount of yelps I let out in the preview room, it was not fun.
D
Get ready for more of that.
A
Hold on. For some reason, the Pragmata demo is asking my age.
B
Gotta double check.
D
Well, they're probably gonna hit you with
A
the little special is the age you entered. Correct. This will not affect gameplay, but it cannot be changed.
B
Later, Diana will whisper on your birthday,
C
by the way, Happy birthday. This is what I'm with the marathon stream. I want a wheel that decides who plays who on, like, what. Chat, like, periodically or maybe do a chat thing.
A
Yeah, I was gonna say chat. If you. Super chat.
D
I was first forces. First person mode.
B
I would just say you have to play the whole game in first person mode.
D
No, I don't know about the whole mode.
B
Terrifying.
D
Yeah.
B
Third person mode. That's a cheat code. Not be scared. First person mode.
D
You're complaining about having to watch two episodes of Fallout. I'm having to do this.
C
All the best Fallouts are in third person. Or not Fallout.
A
Sorry.
C
All the best Resident Evils are in third person. So think about that chat.
B
Oh, did you have any. Okay. Did you try mouse controls on Pragmona?
C
Mouse controls on.
B
We always talk about. Do they have controls with the switch too? But then like, you guys.
C
Okay, so first thing.
A
Yeah. Is like, why do I play? Like, why is it so blurry? What are we doing?
C
I didn't realize the demo was on Switch.
B
Yeah, yeah, today.
D
Let me see this.
C
Oh, okay. Yeah, yeah.
A
It's crushed. Everything's crushed.
C
So, yeah, you'll see what I'm saying. So, yeah.
D
So on this 1080p screen, we're probably looking at like a 540p.
C
So, yeah, you guys can go and download Pragmata and the Switch 2 right now to see what I'm talking about. But Resident Evil looks better, so keep that in mind.
D
No, this is probably. This is 720p up res. Probably.
A
As you know, I'm currently in my era of Switch 2. It's all I've played in 2026 with the exception of Skate. What up. Which Wasn't there today. Huge disappointment. Should I do Resident Evil on Switch just to fucking spread it all out? Yeah, you think so?
C
I think so, yeah.
B
Keep them on the Switch.
D
Maybe it's like.
C
I mean, how much do you care about graphics?
A
I mean, I care enough. It's more trophies. It'd be cool to get some trophies off that, because that'd be a. It would be. My thing is, I don't see. You know, I love the Switch because I love handheld gaming in bed, right? And I don't see Resident Evil being that. That's not a, hey, I'm going to bed with. You know, Jen's going to bed. I'm going to bed early. I'm gonna lay next to her and play Resident Evil. I. That's, I feel like, is a big one. At which point, if I'm docking the thing every time, I feel like I just rock it with a PlayStation. But for content, I don't want to mind playing a Switch.
C
I mean, for content, I think.
A
I think you go, tim is dead.
D
I'm the new voice controls, though.
A
No, I'm not doing that. From Pragmata, Slash Pragmatic. Slash Pragmatic. We went to Turok Origins, face against ferocious dinosaurs and an alien threat. When Turok Origins comes in, Nintendo Switch 2 embark on an interplanetary quest for a superpower to turn the tides of war, either solo or as a team of warriors online. It will come this fall. Saber is publishing, of course, coming to everything as well, but this is our first actual look at the gameplay. If we get the trailer up for that. Andy, what did you think? Are you a Turok person?
D
No, not at all. I mean, back in the day. Yeah, because you just didn't have a whole lot of games. I remember renting Turok a couple times on my. For my. For my aunt's Nintendo 64, because I didn't have one. But I was really impressed by the visual quality. I don't know, I don't think I love, like, the art direction necessarily, that the. The characters look kind of, you know, funky here and there, but I like
A
it because it looks like they're going for, like, a futuristic cyberpunk Native American. You know what I mean? Like, I. I look at this and I'm like, oh, this kind of looks like, like what I think Horizon wants to look like, except Horizon just looks like a bunch of white people running around.
D
Yeah.
A
Native American cosplay.
D
Did you get that? Yeah, yeah.
A
And I'm not that person, but, I mean, it looks like I could See, like a Mayan influence here or something like that. Like, even this stuff here.
B
Like.
D
Yeah, I think. I think visually, like, it's super impressive looking. I think the, you know, compared to a lot of the other stuff that we saw and reminds me a bit of, you know, know, the way Doom looks and runs on Switch, like whenever they get the ID engine looking good and running good on. On Nintendo devices, I thought visually that was the most impressive one. Now that's probably Switch exclusive, right? Origins, like, no, we weren't.
C
We saw that.
A
It's got a Steam page up right now.
B
Yeah, this was. I was kind of caught off guard because I don't remember seeing this. I remember knowing they were making a new trailer.
A
Okay, well, then it's launching this fall on Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox and PC.
D
Okay, well, maybe. Maybe that trailer wasn't for. Played on Nintendo Switch. I'm. It looked like a little too good.
B
Oh, in 2020.
C
Yeah. Game Awards 2024. It had a cinematic trailer.
B
Okay. Okay. Yeah. This was the first time I had seen gameplay then.
D
Yeah.
B
So I was kind of caught off guard, but I. I'm looking forward to this. Like you said, Saber is finding their stride. They know what they want to be, and they're really nailing those games. And Turok, Everyone knows Turok, right? It's dinosaurs with guns, and you're gonna have a good time with that. And so hopefully with friends, this will make for a really fun experience. I'm looking forward to it.
A
Yeah, that'll be good streams, I bet.
B
Yeah.
A
You guys, dinosaurs, or as they call them, zins or whatever.
B
The xenos.
A
Xenos, whatever. All right. Whatever we're doing out there. Fall 2026. From there, we rolled into Kyoto Xanadu. Set in an alternate reality where Kyoto is the capital of Japan, Kyoto Xanadu players take on monsters and mysteries coming from the great labyrinth known as Xanadu. As a student, players will challenge the labyrinth and grow through their battles within Xanadu, while also deepening bonds in with various people during your daily life. Uncover the truth hidden by both the labyrinth and Kyoto itself. When Kyoto Xanadu launches on Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch this summer. Clearly inspired by Persona, but it doesn't stop me from looking at it and going, I love Persona setup. This side scrolling. We're running around beating things up and then jumping into third person, not JR action. RPG combat that I'm like, damn, this might have. This might have something I want to get into. Bless.
C
Yeah, this looks cool. It doesn't speak to me as strongly. But I got respect for it, you know, like, you know, I, you know, when they first started the trailer. Yeah. I mentioned the Persona thing and then the more we saw gameplay, I was like, oh, you know what, I take it back. Like, obviously like you said, there's some things there, but it's doing its own thing and it, it seems really interesting,
A
you know, one to watch for sure.
C
One to watch.
B
Having to say this is one of the surprise games of the show.
A
Yeah.
B
I think it's doing a lot and I think that's what catches your eye of like, oh, I know all these kind of touchstones to it. I'm interested in that. Oh man, they're doing the weird side scrolling now. They're doing a third person hack and slash boss fight. Like I'm into that. Like, yeah, this was one of the three big games of the show for me.
D
It could end up being a master of none situation.
A
Yeah.
D
But I, I, I thought initially that it was just going to be this 2D thing. The 3D thing kind of like threw me off a bit. And then we see that whenever you're kind of exploring around the school or whatever, you are back in 2D mode and but there's also like 2D combat. It's, we'll see how they differentiate it and if it makes sense or if it's cohesive at all.
A
It looking at it. And for me, being like, oh, that's one to watch. Excitement for it. It speaks a lot to what we did with Suda51 this week where Romeo is a dead man. Right. You play that and then you're, you see the action part of you. Like, sure. But then the comic book cutscenes like, okay. And then to go to the hub world, that's just like 2D8. Like what the. And there's all these mini games. It's like, like man. That clearly has character and style. And I want to know more about that. And so that's when I go and I want to know more about that. You know that in the super chats right now. Alva. Well, I should expose it all the way. Not expose it. Don't expose myself. Alvaron cn7996 says Kyoto Xanadu is a really old series from Xanadu developed by Nihon Falcom. Get it on Fantasy Mike.
B
I'm already filled up. But, but one of these guys can take it.
A
EJRPG says Falcom also does the Yeez and Legends of Hero Trails games as well as games like this game, Tokyo's Anady.
D
I do love seeing the Falcom logo. Like, it does feel like a nice throwback of, like, man, I haven't seen this in a while.
A
Yeah. From there, Ignacio Rojas's favorite game, Digimon Story Time Strangers, was announced for The Nintendo Switch 2, of course, coming on July 10th with quality or performance mode. Is this anybody's time to jump in? Excellent. Thank you so much. It's one of those, like, again, I hear people say I would like it and I should do it, but I don't know, man. Like, it just doesn't seem, I like Pokemon now. I like Pokemon. And so I feel like I have one room in my heart for one,
D
you know, and when they're not Pokemon, that's the thing that, like, you know, would I love for someone to mod all the Pokemon to replace Agumon and Wargreymon and, you know, as sick and badass as Digimon can look, it's still just not a Pokemon to me.
A
Yeah, yeah, you're too close to it over here in the chats, Professor White. T did say, Greg, would you be more interested in Digimon if I told you there was a monster hunter digivice? No. I get actually kind of angry when you say digivice. That makes me.
D
The way it rolls off the tongue.
A
I mean, what does that fucking mean?
D
Digivice.
A
It's a monster hunter digivice. So am I. Am I throwing out a digital device that makes a digital monster to fight? Or am I throwing out a trap, a ghost trap? At which point you should have left off the monster hunt. I don't know what we're talking about right now. And I don't want to know. I said I don't want to know. Andy.
B
He's lost.
A
Delete everything you're writing there.
B
I'm typing.
D
I'm gonna look it up for.
C
I'm watching gameplay of the original Xanadu. It's wild, okay. It's a 1985 eight bit game that, like, is kind of a dungeon crawler, but then it also does other weird things. Good for them.
A
For bringing this back Grand Blue Fantasy Endless Ragnarok was next embark on an epic journey in the sky realm. In this visually stunning action rpg, players will journey alongside a diverse cast of allies, exploring breathtaking floating islands and battling powerful foes. With over 20 playable characters, up to four people can team up locally or online for multiplayer action. When Granblue Fantasy Relink Endless Ragnarok launches on Switch 2 July 9th. Mike, I like you said, maybe. This is a maybe. You talk.
B
I like the look of this.
A
Can I see? Can I say something crazy?
B
Tell me.
A
I like to look at this too. This strikes like. This strikes like a game you and me could get into.
B
Greg, I would try this with you because you know what? I'm gonna play this weekend. Bless.
C
Yeah.
B
It's finally time.
C
What's that?
B
Arc Knights Enfield.
D
Whoa.
B
Ready to get my toe in. And this game kind of gave me those vibes with the, you know, select your character. Oh, there's four of them on the screen, all attacking these big baddies. I'm in. I would try this with you, Greg. I would definitely.
C
I mean, Green Blue Fantasy, it's been around for a hot second and I'm pretty sure is one of the big ones. When you talk about this sort of category of video game, like they've had a million spin offs. I played the fighting game, Gran Blue Fantasy versus, and I really enjoy it.
A
And so, see, essentially, that was the spin off. I always thought that was the core. No, I would have told you this was the spin off and the fighting game was the real. You learn something new every day here on.
D
Maybe you're thinking blaze blue blouse, Blue blaze is.
A
I knew that because Clements. I'm that old that I remember Ryan Clements reviewing those.
C
Oh, maybe you're thinking dnf.
A
I don't know what that is.
C
Dungeon Fighters Online.
A
Oh, no, I wasn't thinking that. I definitely wasn't thinking that. Don't worry about me. From there, we moved into Monster Hunter Stories 3. You got a new trailer. There's a demo today. March 13th is the Go day for this one, which we've known for a while, of course. Embark on a brand new journey as you ride into the next adventure in Capcom turn based RPG series, players step into a world where natural order has collapsed, monsters face extinction, and a mysterious elder dragon stands between you and the truth. Befriend and raise monsties and unlock powerful abilities through the rite of channeling and habitat restoration. When Monster Hunter Stories 3 launches on Nintendo Switch March 13th. I've played them before. You know, I'm a monster hunter guy.
B
Yeah.
A
Get a Stories two. Not even Stories one, maybe. I did a preview of Stories one, Stories two. I had a review build and put hours into to and I didn't hate it. It just. None of the characters grabbed me enough where I was like, I want to sit around investing.
B
Is this a Pokemon like Monsties? Is this turn based?
D
It's turned based, yeah.
B
What's the one I'm thinking of when we played on the Switch. That's just a monster hunter world. Spin your rise.
D
Which was. Which was initially the Switch exclusive.
B
Exactly.
D
Yes.
B
Yes. Because I. I remember that when I was playing that then we talk about stories. I'm like, I don't even know what stories is. Okay.
D
Yeah. It's one of their sort of spin off. Off franchises. And I just. I. I've never liked the word monsty, man.
A
No, no. I don't like that monsties either. No, you're.
D
It's not keeping me from playing it. I just don't. You know, it's just kind of.
A
It could though. I would understand if it did.
B
Okay. I like the demo. I like. I love that it's like demo out now. It's like I add that to my bad.
D
Yeah.
A
And it's also, you know the. What you want out of a turn based rpg. A big rpg. Right. Progress carries over. So jump in if you get the bug and you get bit by right. You can stick around, hang out for a long.
B
Do people love these ones?
A
They do. Yeah. People are. And they're always saying, Greg, you should come back to this. You should try this one. Maybe this is the one. So I'm gonna download the demo here and I will see if it is one.
D
I stick them on PC as well.
B
Mike, get out of town. Really nice from there.
A
Arcade Archives is adding rave racer on February 26th. Down the line it's gonna add a bunch of other things. It's at console archives is coming. It's gonna be Doramon, Sonic Wing Special and more. Then Cool Borders and Ninja Gaiden 2. The Dark Sword of Chaos are out today as well.
B
I gotta call timeout.
A
Thank you.
B
What the fuck is this?
D
Yeah.
B
Okay. Not the games. Is this like my Nintendo Switch Online thing is not. Where is this going?
D
It's not. That's what I. The way they presented it looked like it would be where it's joining the Nintendo Online catalog. Like it's just like this was just a big miss of a director.
C
Arcade Archives has been on Switch since like the launch of Switch.
D
It.
C
I don't know.
B
I don't.
C
I never really fully understood it. It's a collection of games that are retro games. Like Switch Online. But they came before Switch Online. I'm pretty sure that is correct.
A
Yeah.
C
There are ways there. There. It was basically a way to buy these retro games not from Nintendo. Right. Like these other third party developers that put out these retro games from them. I need to look up what company does It. But yeah, like, I think Console Archives is just so.
D
It's just Hamster Corporation.
C
Thank you.
D
And published by also snk.
B
You download this app on my Nintendo Switch and then I buy games through that app?
C
No, you just buy. I'm pretty sure if you just look.
B
Is it like a rare replay situation? Like, that's what I'm.
C
I don't think so. I think if you go to the Switch store and you look up one of these games, it'll just be like, Ridge Racer Dash Arcade Archives.
A
See, there you go. Arcade Archives 2. Top speed. Arcade Archives. Top Speed.
B
How much?
A
It's just a nine. 10 bucks for that one, 8 bucks for this one.
B
What?
A
Yeah, people love old games. Here's Bomb Jack Twin. How could we forget Arcade Archives? Bomb.
B
I love Cool Borders. I'm not paying $10 for Cool Borders.
A
Honestly. I bet you Cool Borders cost more. Hold on. I was just pointing things on the screen.
C
Do you want game preservation or not? You know what I mean. You got to spend the money. They're not going to do this for free.
D
I mean, it is.
A
Okay, hold on. Stop. Clear your mind, Mike. Okay, Cool Borders is back as a console archives. How much would you pay for it?
B
How much do I pay for?
A
What's the ceiling for cool borders?
B
299.
A
Okay. What if I told you I needed $10 more? This is 11.99.
B
Okay. Okay. Damn. That would be an insane purchase, Mike.
A
But if there's one person insane enough to do it. You spend so much money on video games.
B
I spent a lot of money on some dumb things. This might be one of the dumber things for sure. Yeah.
A
From there we rolled into a montage of games coming to the Nintendo Switch platforms, of course. Scott Pilgrim in March, Another Eden in Summer. Re Animal on February 13th. Right around the corner. WWE 2K26 in Star Trek Voyager. Disney Dreamlight Valley's update on March 25th. PGA Tour 2K25 Cold Set begins. Goat Simulator 3 on April 1st. Shadow Tactics. Blades of the Shogun. Which Mike says maybe.
B
Maybe on that one.
D
Another Eden Rising just looks like the most, like, fake mobile game that doesn't exist. That one that was just showed before. This one. It's like the little PNG characters kind of just running around. Little.
B
Oh, yeah. Can we see that? Shadow Tactics. I don't know if Kevin can bring that up if that was stuck in the montage.
A
That one looks cool.
B
Yeah, that one. That one I'm down for. Oh, I think you just passed it, Kevin with the green there. Let's See, maybe it'll pop up. Yeah. This one was giving me XCOM vibes. I'm coming off a tactical.
C
Yeah.
B
Holiday break for 2025 and now in 2026, I'm looking for more tactical games. XCOM is high on my list. This one looks cool.
A
Good news for you. Shadow Tactics. Blades of the Shogun is a game you could play on PC right now.
B
Okay.
A
But don't worry, it's only been out for 10 years. Came out December 6, 2016.
B
I was gonna say.
D
I remember covering this for IGN a decade ago.
B
We gotta switch.
A
Maybe there's an update. You know what I mean? But maybe there's not. But.
B
Oh, shit.
A
You could go play right now.
B
It's on PC. Okay.
A
Yeah, it's on PC right now.
B
We go. That's easy for me.
C
Solid top down kind of stealth.
B
Yeah. Very positive reviews on Snake.
D
It looks pretty good.
A
Yeah.
B
This looks lit. Okay.
A
This of course comes out March 18th. If you are looking for the Nintendo Switch version.
D
That was a cool transition in that trailer. Good.
A
We're on top of it over here. You know what's up. And then Tales of Arise was the final one in the montage. From there, of course, we rolled into Resident Evil Requiem. Like we talked about February 27th. A Pro Controller. I think the news, because we've seen all of this so much. A pro controller themed for Res Evil Requiem with like a newspaper on the center section.
C
I hate that. Oh, I did use that, by the way, when I played Resident Evil Requiem.
A
Were you like, that's a must buy now you gotta get.
C
I mean, not a must buy, but I liked it. I thought it looked good in person holding this controller. It looked cool.
B
Is it a Switch 2 controller? So it has the back paddles switch to.
C
Oh, that's a good.
B
You know what I mean? Like the new
A
jackpot and all that jazz.
B
Yeah, yeah. I don't like the. I don't like the newspaper clipping.
A
Here's what I think they're doing custom Switch two controllers. This. No, no, thank you. No, I don't like.
C
We gotta buy one. I think you guys will like it in person. Okay,
A
here's what I'll tell.
C
When I was holding it, I was
A
like, oh, I'll tell you right now, they gotta send one because I can't believe I'm at home right now. Like, I gotta buy another fucking Switch 2 Pro controller. Because Ben and me are playing so many Switch 2 games. But then he wants the nice one. I'm using the fucking shit Switch one. I Can't turn the fucking system on with it.
D
I'm like, lie to him and tell him the other one's better.
A
I can't to do that to me. I'll never lie to that son. Except every time I tell him to go to bed. Here's. Okay, so.
D
Oh, God.
A
Go wide on this one. Just come back because this is just Greg talking. It's not rare. And can we get the wide shot of everybody? I'm going to want some reactions to this. I've been using a threat, but it's been a joke threat. But I had to explain it to him, like, when I initially. When I initially was like, hey, stop being bad or else. And he was like, what does that mean? And I explained it to him and he laughed.
C
Laughed.
A
But last night he goes, daddy, if I'm bad again, will you really send me to the coal mine? I said, no, I'm just joking. You know, it's a joke. And he goes, I don't want to go to the coal.
B
No, no, no.
A
It's not a real thing. I want to send you to the coal mine because I've been saying, I'll send you to the coal mine. He's like, what's that? Like, you mind for coal. You'll get a black lung.
B
You'll fall.
A
He's like, what?
C
He's like, what's black lung?
A
He did do that. I was like, it's one unit, you
D
know, I thought it was a lung. And then also, what's a black look?
A
Anyways? And then to round it out, during the Resident Evil reckoning thing, I said, kevin, oh, there's also Grayson, Leon and Mebo coming. They look weird. Whatever. They'll be in the summer. I said, kevin, how much more is left in the presentation? He moused over it, and we had like a fifth that looked like left. And I was like, oh, shit. And then who the fuck shows up? Todd motherfucking Howard. And we were like, what the fuck's about to happen? There's this much left. What is Todd Howard going to talk about for the switch? It turned out he's gonna talk about Fallout 4 Anniversary Edition coming, of course, with all six expansions on February 24, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle coming on March 12, and Oblivion Remastered coming in 2026 at some point. And done direct over. It's making any kind of showcase is such a science. It is so much. Hey, how do we keep people hype? And what do we do? And dot Da da da da. I love Todd. I love Bethesda. Games. It's cool. They're coming to Switch. Undoubtedly. That's really, really cool. This to be the last one. I'd go the opposite. This should have opened Orbital should have closed like hey here Switch. We know you people are buying the Switch 2 here awesome Bethesda games that are coming to this thing because we want to be competitive. We want the great things. And then at the end you go hey, here's an exclusive Switch game. That looks amazing. That looks like it's going to be a great time. A reason for you to have it. I think opening with Orbitals. Orbitals stuns. It's a great looking game. So much good stuff to end here with. Hey, here's three Bethesda games that are out everywhere else.
D
I only agree with that. If Orbitals had never been revealed yet.
B
Yeah.
D
The fact that we. That it's a known quantity that we'd already seen it before. I think kind of ruins that.
A
Yeah.
D
Otherwise I. I would have agreed. I I did see some people saying that like man that inner that they. They felt the way I did regarding the Turok trailer going man, this looks really really good. Are we sure this is like the Switch 2 trailer? And they said they felt the same about Indiana Jones. I that is Indiana Jones on Switch shoe that I could. I could see where it's like not the most cutting edge. But it still looks really impressive though.
B
Yeah. I think Orbitals is the comfort food that we already know. So I think it's a good welcome for the opening. The Fallout stuff or this Bethesda block is the closer.
D
Right.
B
But I think we wanted more there. A Starfield announcement at the end of this would probably get a little more of a pop than just abruptly ending after Oblivion. Of course the littlest of pop for
A
me and everyone else making fun of me and everyone. This direct ending with Starfield.
B
But like it is a big deal as you said.
D
Right.
B
Like knowing that the Bethesda Library is coming to your Switch.
D
Right.
B
Having these big titles coming. Coming last year Oblivion did stun everybody.
D
Right.
B
And it's a great way to get back into an all time classic for Bethesda. And Indiana Jones got a lot of love and praise last or last year two years ago. Right. So like yeah. You got three good games coming to your platform there.
D
You just always want more.
B
I get it. Yeah. It's also. It's a partner showcase. How much I know we really get.
A
I know, I know.
C
I know all the partners suck at making video games. You know what I mean? Why would we look Forward to great video games for partners. Partners.
B
Why can't we expect not a 10 out of 10 hype level.
D
Why was there no Elden Ring?
C
Like why can't we expect good from partners? If you're February showcase every February Nintendo's like hey, we're gonna do a direct. It's either gonna be a regular direct where we lay out our plans for the year or it's gonna be a partner direct. You're doing it in February. You're setting the tone for the year. I expect bigger things, that's all.
B
I mean what are we missing, right? Elden Ring still is a no show. What is up with Elden Ring? Right? Duskbloods is a June big blowout, right? So like Dust Bloods, you save for the biggest showcase on that one. But like what is another partner that you would want here to maybe pop the top on this and make it a little more hype.
A
Exclusive stuff, new stuff. Like that's, that's what we're talking about and that's what's missing here. And as usual if I can just mob excuse says in a super chat. We've been spoiled on graphics on PC and other platforms. I feel no reason to buy third party games on Switch too. Unless they're indie or exclusive like Orbit. I love Nintendo but this was eh again like if Nintendo and I don't even know if they want to but if they're trying to shake what they had with Switch one of like yeah, this is there and it's getting games late and nobody cares and they don't take third party seriously. This isn't the kind of showing where you go out and you're like fuck, they are here showing up for this device and this, this kind of gamer that wants to be there by showing me more old ports. Something like Resident Evil pragmata. Sure. Okay, cool. Day and date, let's go. That's what you want to hear. But showing older stuff, a game from 2016, you know that we're talking about and granted it was in a mont but it caught your eye. It's like I get serving that audience but the audience is so diverse.
D
I could feel the disappointment from Tim spiritually, you know, because we've talked so much about how when the Switch 2 gets revealed.
A
Yeah, yeah.
D
And they, they're making sort of. They're making statements about third party is going to be taken very seriously here. We're going to put a big effort into this and we are like everybody's going to be on board and that, that sets an Expectation. I get you like really, really pumped up. Like, oh, wow. They, you know, we've missed out a lot of. We miss out on a lot of that during the Switch 1 era. But this is, it's a, it's a different time now and like everything's changing. And every subsequent kind of direct since the Switch launched, we're kind of like, okay, maybe this is the one where third party's like, hey, we're out in full force.
A
We have the dev kits now.
D
We're not only going to show you that we're porting our stuff or whatever, but we're going to make this look good too. Because. Because that's how they would have looked on the PS5 or. Or the PS4 rather, you know, or. I, I don't know. It's just like it was a big. Just another sort of like fart in the wind. And I'm sorry to Tim, wherever he's at.
A
I heard he had. I heard he walked in, he's like, Samira, I got bad news.
D
That's how you pronounce it.
A
I was wondering, how do you. How would you pronounce it?
D
I thought it was either Samire or Samir. I didn't know.
C
I didn't know he was Samira.
A
Yeah, well, I don't know if you guys. I don't know if you guys know this. There's no one in this office you should take less pronunciation advice from than Greg Miller. All right, we. Baby Sammy, Baby Sammy. We'll say the rest of the way. Let's go to some super chats before we get on to Games Daily because that's still happening. A jam packed day. A
Final Fantasy VII remake. It looks great. Rebirth should look better than it looks like in the showing is what they were saying.
D
I think. I think it's a bigger game with more stuff happening. So maybe they aren't quite able to reach those visuals but maybe just some more optimization and they can hit that. But yeah, not only did that. You obviously see the visual sort of setbacks but like a lot of frame dropping in that. Which is always good to know that like okay, this is a real game running on a real.
A
Yeah.
C
Hardware.
D
You're not faking stuff. But there was a lot more a lot more like, you know, framiness and kind of choppiness than I would have expected.
A

D
Yeah, I mean, no, there was a shot. I know exactly what, what shot they were talking about. It was a closeup of the character and you see like the shadow underneath the arm and it was like four blocks. Four very distinct blocks. And then. Yeah, yeah, like let's do a little bit more there, man. We can definitely push this a little bit higher, can't we?
A

Hosts: Greg Miller, Blessing Adeoye Jr., Snowbike Mike, Andy Cortez
Date: February 5, 2026
Episode Focus: Live reaction, review, and in-depth analysis of the Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase for February 2026 (focused on Switch 2 releases and announcements)
This episode centers on the crew’s reactions to Nintendo’s February 2026 Partner Direct, with a heavy focus on third-party announcements for Switch 2. The hosts candidly discuss their expectations, rate the overall presentation, examine individual reveals, and contemplate Nintendo’s strategy with third-party partners as the platform transitions to its next generation. The team also shares hands-on impressions from a recent Nintendo preview event.
Disappointing Overall Impact
“I thought Nintendo would try… It's my bad for hoping for anything.” (04:50)
“Should I watch it? Well, no… Look at the list of games and see if they speak to you.” (06:39)
“The saddest part is Blessing destroying Turok there. And I think Turok probably looked the best out of most of these games…” (07:56)
Expectation Gap
“I feel like we're lacking the, ‘Here's something we've never seen before!’... everything just sounds like shit.” — Blessing (04:15, paraphrased)
Orbitals
“Fuck yeah. Stunning—a two-player co-op adventure. The more I see of it, the more I love it.” — Greg (10:46) “It just feels like you are watching an anime from the 80s. So impressive visually… Not cheap to do.” — Andy (11:00)
Valheim
“This is a top-ten survival crafting game… it’s a really fun one, I think it will find a really good home on Switch.” — Snowbike Mike (27:30) “Combat’s great, awesome building… it’s not aimless.” — Andy (28:05)
Kyoto Xanadu
“Clearly inspired by Persona, but… it’s doing its own thing.” — Greg & Blessing (53:32) “This was one of the three big games of the show for me.” — Snowbike Mike (53:54)
Turok Origins
“Turok probably looked the best out of most of these games… Saber Interactive is killing it.” — Andy (07:56, 52:13)
Tokyo Scramble
“This looks so rough, man… You just can't even put a little light source in there.” — Andy (21:10) “I'm gonna play this game one time for the lulz.” — Snowbike Mike (21:46)
E Football
Third-Party Support Stagnation
“This is for first-party games only. I'm not gonna buy third-party games on my Switch.” — Snowbike Mike (07:11) “If Nintendo’s trying to shake that image, this isn’t the kind of showing you want.” — Greg (71:00)
Show Structure Critique
“This should have opened with Orbitals—should have closed with something new or exclusive.” — Greg (68:30) “You just always want more… It's a partner showcase, but how much more can we expect?” — Andy & Snowbike Mike (69:53)
“On TV, looks great. On handheld, fantastic… frame rate smooth as hell… felt like 60 [fps]… perfectly optimized.” — Blessing (41:00)
“Playable, ran smooth enough, but didn't live up to how well Resident Evil ran… moments where it felt like sub-30 fps.” — Blessing (42:14)

On Overall Quality
“Every game looked like shit… This is what I’ll shout out Nintendo for: They show the true gameplay. That is integrity… That said, maybe lie a little bit.” — Blessing (04:14)
On Third-Party Support History
“Here I am, the start of the Switch 2 lifecycle, and we're gonna repeat the same thing [as] Switch 1. This is for first-party games only...not doing this [third party] right.” — Snowbike Mike (07:09)
On Nintendo’s Curation
“I start to wonder about curation for Nintendo—you're putting out Directs that filter to the hardcore… most people watching do not care about this [Tokyo Scramble].” — Blessing (24:01)
On Frustration with ‘Old Games’ Ports
“If Nintendo...want[s] to shake [the] image that they don’t take third party seriously, this isn’t the kind of showing you want.” — Greg (71:00)
On Switch 2 Power and Expectations
“There’s no excuses to have a game in 2026 look like this on Switch 2. It’s a capable machine, man.” — Andy (24:40)
On Hopes for Future Switch 2 Showcases
“You just always want more… If they're trying to set the tone for the year, I expect bigger things, that's all.” — Blessing (70:30)
The team’s reaction is colored by disappointment and a sense of déjà vu from the Switch 1 era—lots of ports, few real surprises, and a general lack of confidence in Nintendo’s third-party strategy. There’s praise for a handful of standout titles (especially Orbitals and Valheim), interest in a few surprises (Kyoto Xanadu), and strong hands-on impressions for Resident Evil Requiem. But overall, the tone is skeptical, occasionally sarcastic, and realistic about what “partner showcases” bring to the table.
The episode closes with calls for more daring announcements, better curation, and Nintendo (and its partners) to rise to the occasion in future Directs.
