C
You challenge him on anything, he'll do it.
A
Yeah, he rises to the occasion. He gets on me and Nick's level.
C
That's why we love it.
A
And of course, he's the Hispanic heartthrob Texas treat Latino heat. Clicking heads and ripping them to shreds. The globe trotting head shot and three point shooting rooting tootin nitro rifle from Twitch tv.
C
Andy Cortez, good morning.
A
Hey, how are you?
C
About to come.
B
Oh my God.
A
Almost knocked the water over the intro and choked on it immediately as I.
C

A

B
Oh yeah.
A
So you know, you roll the dice. We'll see what happens over there. And then after that, Andy, what's happening.
C
Will be the premiere of the extra super long 26 hour hollow night Silk Song marathon video. Both days. All the shenanigans, all of the the food truck shrimp getting tossed into our mouths.
D
That one don't miss that video of.
C
Snowbike Mike going to the local food truck. Ask him the guide to toss it into his mouth. Yeah, all that stuff is there and all the boss fights. It took me like two tries on most of them.
A
Love that. I love that a lot. Thank you Roger. Of course, of course that is what's happening directly after Blessing streams. Just hang out with us all day and that'll be a YouTube premiere. So you go to YouTube.com kind of funny games to watch that. Do you know how long the video is?
C
26 hours.
A
26 hours. Good Lord. Yeah. Come on. Hang on this all weekend. Now I do have to stop the show and I hate doing this. You know, this has been a very polished intro. Everything's been really good. But I have to ask the panel, all three of you, did I fucking stutter? Did I ask you, the audience, to submit your reviews of this Nintendo direct on the kind of funny scale? I believe I did what I heard. So what do I think when I look at the fucking thing? And the first one to come through was Colin Barry, who says the direct was a solid A for me. I'll stop right there. Colin, stop it. This kind of funny review on an ABCDF scale.
C
I think we did it in the Twitch chat. Somebody put a school grade.
A
Who did it?
C
I don't know who did it.
A
Like a poll.
C
I'll get it.
A
Find them and time them out. Barry. All right.
D
Who did it?
A
I don't have time for this.
C
Probably a mod.
A
Colin, you gave us $5. I expect $7 back with a correct score.
D
Paul can't do one through 10, you know, it's understandable.
C
Colin. Barry, I. I'll venmo you the money for that. Frank. You know better.
D
Frank.
C
A Frank G. Come on.
A
If you're a kind of funny member, literally get a Greg way today. It's going to be great. I didn't. I had. I had Barrett and my wife's sister's friend in the car so I could.
C
Do a Greg way.
A
Great story about that too, by the way. I in passing have mentioned, you know, my wife's sister's in town or whatever, and she had done this crazy trail for people who've asked or whatever. And I've said she had a friend. I thought I had told Barrett that in more detail.
C
No.
A
So then when I picked up Barrett.
C
For the ride here, dude in the gun, stranger in the car, had no idea who he was. I walked by him like, hey, you were late.
A
You're late. That's on you. When we walked in, I said it was before I got in the car. And I was like, hey, Bar, this is Pat. And he's like, oh, hey, it would be a bear. And then there was like a moment of silence.
D
He doesn't know Greg's a part time Uber driver.
B
Greg didn't say more than this is Pat, by the way. When he walked.
A
That's all you needed.
B
I was like, is this your Way driver. And he was like, well, that's how.
C
He introduced him to me. And coming out to get into his car, he rolls down his window, he's.
B
Like, get in the back.
C
And I was like, ah, that's just Greg being funny. And so I go around and yeah, there's a dude in the passenger seat. And then he says, yeah, this is Pat.
B
And then after like 10 minutes, I was like, so, Pat, how do you know Greg?
A
It was very early.
C
Yeah.
A
Here we were just walking on and out there. I don't know. I kept telling Pat, I'm like, just stay here. Don't go to the airport. You're going to spend money. You can just sit on our couch.
D
Yeah, but they got sweet maple in that airport.
B
Maple. I hate you.
A
Thank you to our Patreon producers, Carl Jacobs, Omega Buster and Delaney the Sling. Today we're brought to you by Shady Raisin Factor. But we'll tell you about that later. For now, let's begin the show with what is and forever will be topic of the show.
D
They went to MJ's house. Roger, you just didn't get.
B
You just call me Roger.
A
All right, all right, Mike.
C
You got to get off the show. You got to get off the show.
A
You're right, you're right, you're right, you're right, you're right.
D
To MJ's house. Roger, you just got to understand.
A
Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Everybody, we have just watched the Nintendo Direct for September 12, 2025. More than an hour of announcements ranging of course from the Mario Brothers movie. That's right, the Super Mario Galaxy movie coming April 2026, all the way down to a brand spanking new Fire Emblem. Fortunes weave. Let's go around and score this here direct before we wade into everything else. Andy Cortez, what would you give this on the patented kind of funny scale, B plus. God fucking damn it. Don't do this. One to ten. You could use 0.5s. Fuck me. Barry, put it up. Oh, you're here.
C
I would give this presentation that antenna just gave for us a solid. I'd go 8 out of 10.
A
Nice.
C
I really enjoyed this. Even the games that aren't directly speaking to me, I know that they are massive for the community. Like I know how big Fire Emblem is. I know how well they review. I know that these are games that, that have really hardcore dedicated fan bases. We saw people in the YouTube chat saying, I'm crying right now. Like, these are massive games in the Nintendo community. And to get follow ups like that I think is is huge to get release date for Metroid Prime 4. There was just a lot of. I mean, tennis fever. Like, holy, what a pretty. This is a packed ass direct. I thought. I really enjoyed it. I don't think it lived up to what I thought was gonna happen.
A
Okay.
C
With what, you know, I just think was gonna happen. I think there was just a lot more. I thought we would get a look. Look at a new sort of like 3D Mario or whatever. But it was still way more enjoyable than a lot of the more recent ones. I had a great time with this excellent Snowbike Mike.
A
What would you give it on our review scale? Thank you, Barry.
D
Yeah, I'm much lower than Andy. Unfortunately. I'm more of the six. Seven.
A
Oh, wow.
D
So I'm going to just nestle in on the. Okay.
A
6.5.
D
Which is fine for me. Didn't have many for Snow.
A
Mike.
D
Mike. Like super excited moments for me. But as a whole, that was an hour. There was some stuff in there. That's what I'll put it.
A
There was some stuff in there.
D
There was some. There was a block where it was like, oh, we got lost here.
A
Okay. Blessing EDDIE O. Yea Jr.
B
I give it a 7.5.
A
Okay.
B
I thought this is overall a good direct. And I. And when I look back at my list of notes of the announcements they made, I think when you look at it, they actually had a lot of really, really good stuff in there. I think the pacing was off. And part of that was, I think, putting all the Mario stuff in one section at the beginning. I understand why you do it because it's the Mario celebration. And so I think they picked the right way to do it with that. But because of that, I think then they have some sections where it is. Okay, we're getting, you know, back to back. Here's the indie game that's coming from switch one to switch two. Now that, you know, Overcooked 2 now has cameras in it. You know, stuff like that. Where it is. Okay. Now I feel like I'm just sitting here gaining information about things that I don't necessarily as excited about.
A
So my question there, if you don't mind me pulling over.
B
Go for it. Go for it.
A
Are you giving it a 7.5? You're giving a 7.5?
C
Yeah.
A
All right. Is that more of the packaging or is that based on the content?
B
That's based on both together. Right. Like, I think the content. Overall, the list of content was great, but the packaging was a little bit dull. Right. So I Just net out at that 7.5. But like, when I look through it, yeah. Andy mentioned Mario Tennis Fever and I think that looks great. Yoshi. And the mysterious book looks exciting. Right. Super Mario Wonder plus Billable park looks like it's going to be. Have some fun additions for what that game came out. But then, like, we have. I. We also have so much of what we asked for, the release dates that we're looking for. Right. Metroid prime. We got a Hades 2 release date.
A
Yeah.
B
This ended with a new Fire Emblem game. Right. Like, I think they had all the staples that you want out of it out of a Nintendo Direct, even if all of it wasn't aimed at me objectively. I look at this and I'm like, okay, this is a great time. This is a. This has great content to it. What about you, Greg?
A
For me personally, I echo what you're saying. Bless. But I would go eight and with Andy, I think it was a great presentation. I think. Yeah. I think the pacing gets a little weird in that for me. And this is always, you know, eye the beholder, especially for Fire Emblem. Not doing anything for me. But when we're talking about how front loaded I think this was of. Here's the Mario movie stuff. Mario Galaxy, Mario Tennis. Like, fuck yeah. Fuck yeah. Yoshi. The mysterious book. Yeah, it does look great. And then we get even Tamagamashi Life I'm interested in. Right. Hades 2 I think is humongous. Right. Giving us a September 25th digital release there for a Switch. Fuck yeah. Let's go. But then where it starts to not languish. But I think somewhere after the wnd of having a virtual boy and going through this is where I'm like, okay, Donkey Kong Bonanza. Fuck yeah. Metroid Prime. I didn't think the stuff on the motorcycle looked that great, but I'm excited.
B
To see what Metroid prime is.
A
And then we start going into like, all right, cool. Danganronpa, you know, Dynasty Warriors, Monster Hunter, a montage Requiem, which had a really great trailer. But I'm not gonna play Requiem on Switch to fire him. I'm like, okay. I feel like it's always hard to balance a direct and. Or any kind of presentation and have it entertain everybody throughout the show. I just think moving some of the stuff I really cared about towards the back would have done more for this of like, hey, we're keeping momentum rather than losing me in that back half. But. But you're strictly reading down the list of his and especially talking about what for a spring 2026 or what? You know, I mean, 2026, the first half of the year for Nintendo. Holy shit. They have a quite a lineup here.
C
And you as the resident Pokemon fan. That's me, you know, getting more info about Z to A. But also.
A
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Well, I'm excited. When we go game by game, there's.
B
Somebody in the chat ready to rock. Somebody in the chat said the word poke slop, which made me laugh. Like, it does feel like that a little bit. Even though, like the. The thing there is that people buy the Pokemon games. Right. Like, I look at Procopia and I'm like, oh, that's. That's a weird idea.
C
That's what it's called.
B
Yeah. And I'm like, that's a weird idea. But it's probably gonna do well, right? Like, I think they do zero on some niche sides of their audience that like, probably are going to show up to that and go, oh, I love Minecraft, I like Pokemon. Let's play as ditto and do weird shit.
A
Yeah. At the end there when they. When not the end, but when they did the Dragon Quest 1 for a second chat popped off like Dragon Quest Builders 3. And I was like, that's a great example of a game that did take their IP and do something with it in Pokemon. Never been a stranger to doing something outside of a traditional mainline Pokemon there. And the more I watched Poker, it was like, okay, I could see tinkering with this, like, as the world built out, but I doubt I'll be ditto as a person. I just don't like it. I would much rather be. You're a person who's landed here. Catch Pokemon and use them to build out your thing. Maybe use guns with it.
C
Yeah.
A
That's what power was, right?
C
Yeah, that is what Power World was.
A
Yeah. Yeah. Yep.
B
It all comes full circle.
A
Let's get some reviews.
C
Let me see a Manky with a. With a Desert Eagle.
A
Of course. I asked people to write in with their reviews. Randy writes in and says, why did they announce a Mario All Stars collection? This didn't feel like a Mario celebration, IMO. Also, no kart update feels nuts. 6 out of 10. Giving it an okay no card update.
C
Is a very good call.
B
Yeah, that does feel nuts. That was out of all the Mario predictions I was making the other day. That would have been the one I put money on as far as, like, this is what I think will happen.
A
Yeah. I think we even mentioned Donkey Kong Bonanza dlc and we, we shoot there like.
B
And I Was like, no, we're not going to see DK Bonanza dlc, which is really impressive. I also, it's interesting to me, and this doesn't matter in the grand scheme, but closing the Mario section with a Yoshi game threw me off a little bit. Even though I understand Yoshi is a Mario character. But I would have thought that you would have done like a more Mario front facing thing. That's why at first I was like, oh, this is gonna be Yoshi's island too. We're gonna see baby Mario fucking lands crash lands on this dinosaur planet. And then I think that makes me then go, well, why didn't you just put the Bonanza DLC in the Mario section? Yeah, like Donkey Kong is. I don't know. It's a weird thing.
A
Yeah.
C
I thought we would have gotten a Luigi's Mansion for something.
A
Oh, interesting. Yeah. For me, I think the other thing. This isn't a Nintendo. I can't believe this was here. But I thought for sure Marvel Cosmic Invasions release date was a slam dunk. I would have been like, of course the debuted a direct. It's supposed to come this year. They'll put it out here and I do two new characters.
D
I think we just got to accept.
C
That game's not coming out this year.
A
Shut up. I can't accept that. Okay. Yeah, I need this. I need it too. We got to go to a bar and play it together.
C
Yeah.
A
Oh, sorry. More reviews. I wanted to get in here. A lot of people are having a lot of fun at my expense. Okay. Colin. Barry did super chat in and said, here you go, Greg. Another $2.11 to make it. Thank you. I appreciate that. But then I got over here, Oak toast said, morning, KF crew solid. A minus direct will Hades to shake up the Game of the Year discussion.
C
Oh, yeah, I can't wait. I'm so excited to vote for this fucking game.
B
Hades, you versus Expedition versus Silksong versus DK Bonanza.
D
Blueprint.
C
Holy.
D
We gotta keep putting respect on Blueprints's name.
B
Blueprints is my game of the year, but nobody. It's not gonna happen. I'm sorry. We're not gonna see it nominated Game of the Year.
D
You gotta celebrate.
C
You don't think it'll be at the game?
B
Blueprints?
C
Yeah.
B
No, really. I don't think enough people played it. I don't think it's like popular on that level enough outside of people who just reviewed it.
C
It felt kind of split in reactions.
B
Of if it was people's game.
C
Or not.
B
It'll be indie Game of the Year.
C
Nominated, not Game of the Year year.
A
I think it'll be interesting for blueprints too. And this isn't me throwing shade Game Awards obviously is so many different outlets coming together, which means who played the most games kind of thing.
C
I think it dice.
A
I bet DICE awards this year. Oh yeah, that's a good representative.
C
Also, maybe it came out a little too early in the year.
A
Yeah, I just hate coming too early.
B
I just look at like the conversation around blueprints, right? How like it felt more focused around like the fucking nerds.
C
Yeah.
B
Expedition 33 everybody's talking about 100%.
A
You know, Resolute says 8.5 out of 10. What I have to do now for a new punch out or remake of Mario Hoops 3 on 3. I know that is the Mario sports game. You. Well, you want a baseball, but I.
D
Want anything other than tennis, golf and soccer.
A
I mean, great though.
D
Tennis looks great but like we've had plenty of tennis games and like what was it? Aces. Aces is not a bad game by any means. Like aces is good. You can play it right now and have a great time. It's like, let's get baseball back in the mix. Soccer we had a misstep with. But I can't keep getting golf and tennis over and over again. Tennis and golf are great, but we also have some other sports that we can go and have some fun.
C
Aces was 2018 though, and you can.
D
Play it right now and be like, man, this game rocks.
B
Yeah.
C
But we can't say over and over again, that was seven years ago. You know, like that was a long ass time ago. But you're not wrong though that we need more love for the other. Just when I think of the waste of the waste of energy and dev time that Super Rush was, I think really breaks my heart that like that could have been used to make something else.
A
Yeah. Kyle LaBeouf super chats and says 8 out of 10. Not a ton of stuff I was interested in. But Super Mario Galaxy 2 has me excited. I've never played and I lost my 3D All Stars cart in my last move. Oh, that's heartbreaking. Oh my God. Yeah, Galaxy coming is a huge. Or Galaxy 2 coming is a huge one. Excited for that one final one before I give you an ad break and we go game by game, topic by topic. 0sp super chats. It says 6.5 but mostly excited for remakes and re releases like Mario and Danganronpa. New games didn't do anything for me personally but happy for Fire Emblem people which I feel as well. Mike, are you actually excited for Fire Emblem?
D
Yeah, I'm gonna play three three houses this year I downloaded on the switch so I'm very excited to check it out and I'm ready to ride the wave because there's a lot of hype around this and so I can't wait to give it a try. What we saw there. Yeah, look, Gladiator esque.
A
I mean we'll talk more about that in one second because of course this is the kind of funny games cast review of the Nintendo Direct. We're gonna go game by game down the list, talk about everything. But first I'll remind you that we couldn't do cool shit like this without your support. On patreon.com kindafunny YouTube.com kind of funny games Apple and Spotify. That's right there you can pick up the kind of funny membership to get all of our shows ad free. Get your daily dose of me, Greg Miller in a series we call Gregory and keep the lights and mics on because we have a hell of a day of content for you if you didn't know happening right here. Of course after this we're doing games daily with all the other gaming news you missed. Then after that, blessings jumping straight into the donkey Kong Bonanza DLC here on stream and then after that on YouTube.com kindafunnygames we are premiering the 26 hour video of Andy's Hollow Knight playthrough stream.
C
A lot of y' all may be wondering what I thought it was like 32 hours or whatever Andy did. It edited out like all the bathroom breaks along with all the times that I was like doodling in the in the journal. Nice because a lot of that was just me looking down and journal is cool. Seeing anything I would show you the end product, you know.
A
Yeah, well can people still give subs to get it to get entered to win it?
C
The no, no, that has been cut off.
A
Sucks to be all. Of course we will go game by game right after this word from our sponsors.
D

September 13th. Tomorrow is the Japanese release date of Super Mario Brothers. He came out with the normal stuff. We're excited about this. Have you ever seen the Nintendo Kyoto Museum? It's cool in December. There'll be a light show there. That's what he's talking about. Can we get to some of the games? Instead of going to games, we went straight to the movie. Got our first teaser. Yeah.
D
Special tickets to Special tickets.
A
Yes. If you've already gone to the Kyoto Museum. There is another reason to go now because of that. Thank you over there. Kratos gov for 107 months in a row of subscription here on Twitch. Love you. Thank you. We went from there, though. Our first look at the Super Mario Galaxy movie. Of course, we can see it here. If you are an audio visual watcher. Mario asleep at the tree. We fly across. We see Monty Mole. You see some fish. Yeah, go for it.
B
Can I say, it bums me out that this was leaked, like, earlier this week.
A
Hey, they registered this domain.
B
Yeah, they registered the domain for super mariogalax.com because this reveal was so well done. Because if you're somebody, if you're a Mario sicko, who really cares, right? Like, in theorizing what this is gonna be, you would have thought, oh, they're gonna do Super Mario World. Because they teased Yoshi at the end of the first Super Mario Brothers movie. Spoilers. And so they started this off right.
A
We're gonna watch it tonight with the.
B
Grasslands and the Monty mole. And they're specifically playing Super Mario World music. The pan up to space to Super Mario Galaxy. If that wasn't already, like, a known thing, I would have popped the off. Like, I would have been going crazy. But I. I just wanted to shout out how well done of a reveal that is.100.
A
Of course, the little thing lets it go there at the end.
C
The music was fantastic too. Hearing the Galaxy theme. Yeah, the orchestra was awesome.
B
The transition from world to galaxy, so good.
A
Was anybody else thrown by? We get the thing. Amazing. Then we go in to run through the cast. And I was like, all right. And then they're using it. Look to me, an untrained eye, the same headshots in cadence of how they announced the cast originally, of course, Chris Pratt's back.
C
He had a beard, though, in this.
A
Taylor Joy's back. You know, Jack Black is back. Sure, sure. And I'm waiting then. And now inner Yoshi's voice. And then nothing. It was just like, all right, cool.
D
I was feeling Ariana Grande.
A
Yeah.
D
I was thinking a little Jason Momoa in my mind. Like, those felt like. Like that could be an easy, logical, like, hey, guess what we got.
A
Boom. Win. That's how it is. That's all you got. April 3, 2026 for Super Mario Galaxy, the movie. But from there, they rolled straight into the games that inspired it all, even though they were quick to say, you know, the movie takes inspiration from everything. Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Galaxy 2 are coming out October 2nd these will be out in their one boxed form and then available digitally individually. Went through showed, of course, announced new Mario and Rosalina amiibos also said that in very exciting fashion, there are new storybook pages added to the storybook function inside of the games. And they're doing an IRL storybook you can buy off of my Nintendo today. However, the new storybook pages won't be in there.
C
Hilarious. That was one of the funniest things.
A
It's just an interesting, weird WNBA to do that. Andy, Surprised or just delighted.
B
You know.
C
Excited that I'll finally be able to play this in a way that doesn't require me to, you know, allegedly do nefarious things. You know what I mean? But you know, I would I have loved a bit more love to these remakes. Would I have loved to seen, you know, a bit more done in terms of what the engine can do? Yes, of course. I would have loved that. But I'm still excited that this game seems to have have, you know, the updated textures and everything looking a lot sharper running at a higher resolution.
A
I can give you the official rundown here. Please do this press release. All right. Both titles feature improved ui, the option to play with button and stick or motion controls and I'm sorry. And in game music player, new storybook content and enhanced Revolution resolution. Jesus. Plus a free update will be available for Nintendo Switch 2 that adds 4K resolution support for both titles.
C
That's beautiful. Yeah. I mean, and it's long overdue. That that was. That's been everybody's sticking point since the first Mario 3D collection. Why would you not include part two?
A
Yep.
C
Do we know that this was the plan all along to eventually prepare and kind of have it debut after a Super Mario Galaxy movie reveal? I don't know. It just felt like a weird intended decision at the time. I'm just excited that people like me who never played Part two, who finally played Part one when the collection came out, because I was never really like a Nintendo Wii type gamer. I know my gamecube was only for Smash Bros. And for Double Dash, but yeah, super pumped for this. I'm happy to actually be able to play part two because part one became one of my favorite 3D platformers ever.
A
If you want to leave these amiibos up, I can give you a little information there. Mario and Luma can be scanned for in game for either Receive a life and.
C
Sorry.
A
Mario and Luma can be scanned in either game to Receive a life mushroom and Rosalina and Lumas can give you a one up mushroom. So there you go. These two larger than standard size amiibos will be available April 2, 2026.
B
Do they say anything about pricing in the press release? I'm seeing a lot of people say in chat $40 for each of them.
A
They don't do that usually when they do this. Let me see if I can because.
B
I'm curious on what the combined like for each game. For each game, yeah. So I'm curious on what's combined.
A
I'm here. The store is loading right now. Drumroll, please. I got the stars. 70 bucks for the. The game that has both of them on digital and then. Yeah, you soon. Dang.
B
I would have hoped for like 60.
A
Mario Galaxy by itself is 40.
C
40 bucks.
A
Yeah. Is going to be 40 as well. Yeah, 40 bucks actually.
B
It doesn't surprise me.
A
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
B
It's a bummer because obviously I wish it was less but like I think.
C
It had to be 40 bucks for the 40th anniversary. Bless.
A
You know, it's all tied together.
B
You know, you gotta a surprise.
C
And delighted. It's not surprising. Disappointed. You know, even though this is the second time we're re releasing Mario Galaxy.
B
You know, like, don't worry about it.
A
Don't worry about it.
C
Jesus.
A
Bless. I know you're Mr. Mario. Yeah.
B
You still. Yeah. I love Mario Galaxy. I love Mario Galaxy 2 and so I love that. The fact that they're finally re releasing Galaxy 2, them adding new storybook stuff I think is so bizarre and weird.
A
Yeah.
B
I also, Mike, there's a conspiracy theory part of my brain that's like, are we leading to Galaxy 3? Is that why we're doing the Galaxy thing? Because like, like going back to the movie for a second, I am a little bit surprised that you're jumping forward to Galaxy. Not that the Mario timeline is sacred by any means, but I'm like, oh, damn, that's like a big jump for where you could have gone. There's still a lot more meat on the bones for I think getting Yoshi in there. And if you wanted to do the Koopalings and stuff like that. And so the fact that we're going straight into Galaxy A, Galaxy 3 would be pretty sick. I think that would be a great step for whatever the next 3D Mario game is, but I'm sure that's way.
C
Further out and it would be displayed so beautifully on that new processing power of the Switch 2. Oh my God, that shit would look so good.
A
100%. Mikey, anything to say about these guys?
D
Yeah, I Mean, I'm going to buy it, add it to my collection.
A
Okay, well, Mikey, I want to go right to you then with Mario Tennis Fever. That's right. There it was. I got scared because I didn't like it. I. I didn't. I. Aces let me down for what I wanted out of a Mario Tennis game. Aces let me down. And this looks way more up my alley. You have 30 different rackets to use here. They're called Fever rackets, each with their own special abilities in 38 playable characters, the most in series history. What did you think, Mike?
D
Yeah, I mean, I get excited for all Mario sports games. Greg. This looks exactly like Aces, but of course, it will have new improvements. It will look sharper and cleaner, but of course, it's more tennis. I'm excited for that. And also, at the same time, a little let down by that. I would like us to explore a little more Mario Sports. I think we finally stepped out of the golf and tennis bubble with soccer and Strikers. I would have loved to go to baseball or anything else, but, you know, tennis is just so easy to understand. It's easy to put in the game and just feel good all the time. And Strikers did that. They're gonna. Or Aces did that. They'll add a bunch more into this one, make it the nice upgraded visuals, and everyone's gonna love it. I'm gonna love it. So I'm not super mad. I'm just more disappointed that we're not exploring more.
A
A lot of good modes in here that I think will lead to some fun party modes and let's plays out there. Right. There are multiple modes to enjoy, including tournament trial towers, Mix it up mode with Wonder effects and adventure mode where Mario and friends are into babies and must defeat monsters to return to normal. Plus experience Joy Con 2 motion controls with the swing mode, of course. This is coming out February 12th. Andy, are you stoked?
C
Very, very excited. This was definitely, like, my favorite part of this presentation, probably, aside from the Hades 2 announcement. Yeah, I think the. I. I just really enjoy tennis video games as it is. They just. One of my earliest memories of really getting into tennis games was tennis on the Game Boy Color Mario Tenn. One of my favorite games ever. I wish we kind of could go back to something like that because that's what really got me excited about RPGs and going to the next tennis club. Because you got in, you got upgraded, and you get to meet other characters there and everything. But yeah, I'm super pumped for this. I. I did enjoy. I probably put More time into Tennis Aces than a lot of other people but you know, was really let down by golf. Super rush. I'm just excited that visually it looks really cool and impressive. Andy, I want that rematch. You'll get the rematch. You'll get it. Thank you.
A
Oh yeah, get him. Bless. What about you?
B
Oh yeah, I loved so I love Tennis Aces. In fact I love Mario Tennis. That was one of the games I owned on N64 as a kid and like was super obsessed with it to the point where I would like my. My thumbs would get sore by how hard I'm pressing the analog stick on the N64 and so whenever you announce a new Mario Tennis Tennis I'm all the way in. And honestly like coming off of Tennis Aces even though I, I enjoyed it a lot, it was one that came and went. Yeah it was one that like I was obsessed with for two weeks and then I moved on and just never really came back to it over the years. This looks cool. I love the features. I love the whole like super powered racket thing. I want to see more from like you know what that is and like the depth, how deep they go with the different kinds of cool rackets. You can use the story mode. They've been been doing these story modes in some of their like spin off titles including sports games and like even Mario Party Jamboree had an adventure thing. They even though whenever they announce them they seem exciting when they always are flat when they come out they're always flat.
A
But I'm hopeful again that they've heard all that criticism and that the. The adventure mode with the babies I mean could easily be stupid but like.
B
I think it's a cool concept. I like the idea of dude.
C
Very disappointing. I'll say right for for some reason out on on best buy.com Mar Tennis Aces is being sold for $73.61.
D
That sounds about Aces. That sounds about on track.
C
Aces Aces Aces the game that came.
B
Out in 2018 Nintendo Seal of quality.
A
You know right now Fever is being sold for 70 bucks.
C
Nice.
A
$69.99.
C
Ah nice. There you go.
D
Nice little discount.
A
Moving from there we went into another often predicted hey what would they do 40th we got the Super Mario Brothers wonder Nintendo Switch 2 edition plus meet up in Bella Bell Park. I originally wrote Bella Bella Cool. I think it would have been a better name personally of course Wonder this great looking game. The hook here. Of course there's more multiplayer stuff they're adding to this one. New modes and stuff like collecting Coins having the most lives playing tag. There's other new content as well coming in spring spring 2026 bless. Will you come back?
B
Oh yeah. For the new content for sure. I really, really enjoyed Mario Wonder. I almost wish they had more. They focus more on the single player stuff than the multiplayer stuff.
A
Sure.
B
I just didn't care for the multiplayer aspect of Mario Wonder. But I mean they're doing it all and so I can't really be upset with it. I think this is exciting.
A
Yeah. Again, Mario Wonder, one of the standby. Hey, that's never leaving the Switch because Ben loves playing it with me so much and so, so what's interesting, obviously as you progress in Wonder and the levels get more challenging, that's when it gets harder for Ben and he'll eventually lose interest. Having these things are like, hey, do you want to hang out and play tag? Run around, collect coins, yada yada yada. Like we're going to live in this. Him and I will not be leaving this, I'm sure anytime soon. So that's exciting. But I do wonder in terms of Wonder single player stuff, Andy, how much you'll be getting out of it.
C
I'm super pumped at least to just see how it looks on the newer hardware because I this was one of again a very, very late entry to the Switch 1 catalog and it was. It's an example that you point to and go see Switch 1 games can look amazing like, like even on this old hardware they are still finding a way to get the most out of it and look gorgeous and beautiful and a lot of it is how far art style and art direction can take you. I this was one that I never finished and I thought this would be like a surefire. This is so my because I love just. I love 2D Mario side scroller. But yeah, this is, this is one that maybe I, I will revisit with ever or whenever this the DLC and kind of update is because I, I really enjoyed it and I want to see how it looks now running on the newer hardware.
A
Okay, well, spring 2026 we'll find out. Mike, did you care about Wonder? Did you play Wonder?
D
No, but I do appreciate the fun party games. I think that's a cool aspect of it. Of as much as I love running to the the right and left, I do appreciate a fun little Mario party minigame and I think adding that to the flavor of it all is a great little add on for me.
A
Now, Mike, even though you aren't into Wonder, I know you love wasting money So I assume the talking flower that they announced here will be after we. After we saw Wonder they announced, in fact, we are making an actual plastic talking flower from Super Mario Bros. Wonder. The official press release says place one or two in your home to add a little extra fun to your day. These flowers will talk. And while they can't converse, sometimes they'll even talk on their own. Parentheses if you want them to. These talking flowers are planned to bloo boom in spring 2026 as well.
D
Yeah, someone who owned a couple of furbies that never shut up. I would love to have this flower. I wish they did converse with each other because man oh man, could you play some fun pranks. Yeah, just have them talk to each other. But yeah, I see Andy's alarmo all the time and I get super jealous. So I'm gonna buy this.
C
Nice. Where are you gonna put it? On your desk.
D
On your desk.
A
Honestly, what we need to do is put on next to the cat or hide under index filing cabinet and lock it and throw away the key. So I was like, hey, how you doing? Piss him off even worse than you usual. From there we went to Yoshi and the Mysterious Book. Of course, they started this one up. We saw the Yosh man, as we often do. And then it became wait, is this Yoshi's Island? Is this a remake? Is this Yoshi's Story? And instead found out it's something brand new. Yoshi and the Mysterious Book. One day, on the island where Yoshi and his friends live, a peculiar talking book named Mr. E Suddenly Falls from the sky. This mysterious book's pages contain information about unusual creatures. So Yoshi decides to jump in and help investigate. Join Yoshi on a new adventure. When Yoshi and the Mysterious Book launches on Nintendo switch In spring 2026, Andy stunning art style.
C
Beautiful art style. And one of these games that I feel is super directed to kids because I don't really know if there's a whole lot happening gameplay and challenging wise, but just mechanically kind of just, you know, tickles the brain and says like, you know, how can these things interact with each other? How do these elements of the world evolve? I thought it looked beautiful. Is it what I want? Want? No. But I'm happy it exists. Like, I would have much preferred if this were kind of more of a follow up to a Yoshi story. I think that would have been really amazing. But it's just, you know, another sort of showing to show that Nintendo isn't really concerned about not getting weird. You know, Is this not A follow.
B
Up to Yoshi's story. Like.
C
Like spiritual successor wise.
B
I get spiritual successor vibes, but I.
C
Just didn't see a whole lot of like the, you know, the sort of challenge platforming. To me it felt more like you will be side scrolling and jumping and hopping on things, but also just look at the way the world interacts. It felt more like a. Like, like an adventure.
A
I know this sounds weird, but it feels a lot like a demo of getting this thing and how does it work with that thing and yeah, solve this part where we do blah blah blah. I don't. I. I don't think it's like I look at this and this looks a step above something like Kirby's epic yoke. Which I thought was just like oh, you can't die. You're just playing whatever.
C
Yeah.
A
Like I can still see me and Ben playing this in. Ben getting frustrated to points where he can't do things.
C
I guess as I saw as I rewatched more of the gameplay. But okay, yeah, maybe this is more traditional to what I would expect.
A
But give him the one and let him apologize to Yoshi.
C
Hey, Yoshi would really like to apologize. I don't know who's voicing you in the movie.
B
What's going on with that serene carpenter.
C
So I don't take. I don't apologize. Jason Momo.
B
Sup? I'm Yoshi.
A
Also.
C
What. What was the line he had in Justice League? My man, my man.
A
From there we exited the Mario centric world and moved into more random Nintendo stuff.
B
I wish we stayed there really quick.
D
Yeah, yeah. Before we go Kyoto marathon, we'll have the special.
A
God, yeah.
D
Nintendo bib. Bet you we see that on ebay. Fetching a pretty high price.
A
How much to get you to go run the marathon?
D
Greg, you send me over there, I'll dominate that marathon. Okay.
A
Price it out for me and we'll see how much and then we'll do a Twitch stream to raise money for it. We're standing.
C
He famously ran half of a half marathon.
D
I did that one.
C
Yeah.
A
No training.
C
No training. I've run right now and he walks like Robocop for the next two months.
B
Was it half of a half?
D
Everything was so tight.
C
Everything was.
A
From there we moved into Storm Lancers. This was part of a block of games coming to the original Nintendo Switch. This is a 2D rogue light coming today actually. Step into Crypt Crip. Cryp. I see it.
C
What's happening?
A
The master Swift sword play. Nimble evasions and fluid acrobatics. In this 2D side scrolling roguelike adventure, explore living alien planet, travel to its fractured core and fix all of reality before it collapses. Adventure Alone with friends in a two player couch co op and fight through merciless enemies inspired by 80s sci fi anime. Anybody?
C
I don't like the look of it. I don't like. I. I want to be into it but something about the. And it's mainly just the visual style like the, the harsh shadows, the contrast. It's just. It's not quite working for me.
A
Yeah. Not my genre to begin with but yeah, I'm with you. Of like I started, I was like I don't know if I like this art style that much.
B
Yeah.
C
It looks, it screams very much like Switch 1 game. Yeah. In terms of what it's trying to.
B
Do visually for me it's just the, the how competitive the indie market is nowadays. Right. Where like I look at this and I'm like oh man, I love a Rog light. But also I have so many Rog lights to choose from. Where Andy mentioned Windblown the other day and I'm like man, if I'm doing a grow a co op rog light thing right now, I want to hop into that.
C
Yeah.
A
From there we stayed in the Nintendo Switch 1 area and went to Dinkum maybe. Dinkum. Dinkom. Dinkum. Dinkom. This survival life sim set in Australia. It's been on PC for a while. Joey actually played it and chimed into the chat saying she enjoyed it. November 5th for this one, make the wilderness your home. Plant crops, catch fish, gather resources and more. And use your wits when creatures attack. A free demo, the game is available today as a timed console exclusive on Switch.
C
November 5 Death Stranding 2 and Dinkum same year. Australia.
A
Getting Australia. Oh night. Ah, cool. It's the usual one where I look at it, I'm like ah, no, in a different world, sure. But no, I'm not gonna jump.
C
I know what you mean.
A
From there we went to an interesting name.
C
Pop you.
A
Pop you.
D
Pop.
A
Pop you come. Pop you come.
B
I pop you come.
A
Save a mysterious plan in this co op game for up to four players as an adventurer summon an unknown to an unknown planet to embark on a puzzle solving fantastical adventure. Color plays a crucial role. Face enemies and overcome challenges with color switching abilities match three shooting and more. Anybody care?
B
This looks awesome. Looks really cool.
C
I don't like. I guess it already came out on.
A
Yeah, it's been on steam. Yeah. Yeah.
C
I think it looks so cool. I had no idea this game existed, but what a. What a great concept that we've seen done before. And it just reminds me of a lot of the. The mini games in Split Fiction where you do have you shoot the blue thing to open the blue gate and then your. Your friend with the red has to shoot the red thing to activate that. I don't. I don't know, it just seems like, yeah, super basic and it could lead to a lot of fun. I think it looks awesome.
A
It's got that splatoon vibe to it. No wonder you like it, you sicko.
C
Yeah.
A
From there we went to Tomo Dachi Life. Living the dream. You're making me. And you're putting them in this little world and see him interact. It's spring 2026. Like I said, Nintendo Switch 1 game. Choose their personality and voice and help your Mii characters enjoy their island life however they see, see fit. You can see what's on their minds. Help them solve problems, watch them interact. The more I watched of this, the more I was like, yeah, this is gonna be fun to around in. Make a bunch of people like we. The chat obviously popped off that we need to make a kind of funny island, see how they interact. For me, it strikes me, Mike, as a game, I would love to see you stream and I would love to be a part of that stream.
D
But yeah, it's one of those of like, you know how much I love the Sims. I love city building. I love the character creation when I get with Andy Andy and seeing how talented he is with it. And yeah, it's one of those of like, I shoo this game off. But really deep down I know it's like I would love to give this a try and could see myself getting lost in this for a hundred hours if I really wanted to.
A
It.
D
It has the making of everything that I want in one of these kind of games.
C
It's so. It's just such a quirky, goofy little game and I don't. I still don't know. You could show me seven more trailers and I still wouldn't be sure of what's happening.
A
You know, when they start talk, I'm like, I don't need that. I didn't need that at all.
C
Oh, the voice detect, the text voice or whatever.
B
I just love the tone of the humor. I remember when they announced the first or the previous tomadachi life on 3ds, I didn't have a 3ds, so I was kind of bummed because I was like, I really do want to play this game and so since it's coming out again in this version, I'm excited. But also I think the main thing that gets me in is like it just seems like a fucking dumbass game.
A
Yeah, for sure.
B
A lot of weird shit going on.
A
Yeah, that's my thing. Is it going to be fun for an afternoon or is it going to be something I come back for? You know, I mean. Samson Allen Super Chat says my wife went crazy for this one. She had her ex boyfriend in her 3ds version and can't wait to mess him up again in H. Lol.
C
Got to look into that.
A
Wow. Samson, don't cross. Your wife.
D
Love her.
A
Don't cross.
D
You can mess with them. I love it.
A
I'm interested. I. But I'm worried if it would actually stick around. But we'll find out in spring 2026. We got combat Legacy Collection. Of course we've heard a lot about this game but saw it here October 30th digitally, December 12th physically on the Nintendo SW. It has the games, it has the documentary. Again, a cool thing for, you know, the history of games and whatnot. But all right.
B
Oh yeah, yeah.
A
From there we kept it rolling into Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade Integrade coming out January 2020. No, no, January 22, 2026. Ran all that together a long time coming. I assume everybody's happy.
C
Yeah, yeah. I'm stoked for. You know, there's such a gigantic market out there of Switch only players and for them to be able to play one of the coolest RPGs ever pump for them.
A
From there we went into Links Banner of the Spark. Of course this is a game that's been out for a while. It's a joke around here. When they originally said, hey, we're debuting this game on whatever Jeff Keighley stage and they put the O next to it.
C
It was a gear.
A
Oh, linked. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But then there was like, oh, I think that's part of the logo. And I was like that's terrible treatment. And they fixed it. They got out of that and fixed it. Linked Banner of the Spark supports mouse controls on the Switch two and is out today.
B
I love that the old thing is our touchstone for this game and not anything about the gameplay, about the game we couldn't tell you anything about.
A
I'll tell you what, those developers are stoked that we remember.
C
I think, I think it looks cool as a. This sort of Roglike, top down, Hades style action sort of video game. But then they, they kind of just kept on showing more about what you can do with farming and building houses. Like, I mean, all this should be so my. But you're kind. You're throwing a lot at me in this video game game. And I don't know if I am even rational and complaining about it. It's just like. I don't know. I don't know. We'll. We'll see. Yeah, I don't know how people feel about the. You know, because the game came out already. I don't know how people are feeling about it.
A
I think people enjoyed it enough, but I can't. I'm speaking out of school on that one.
C
I'm looking right now. Okay, Lynn, I see a 9 out of 10 on Steam.
A
There you go. See, people are enjoying that one. Speaking though of games that are killing on Steam, this is a big one. We've been waiting for it. Hades 2 got an amazing trailer here. Most important, got a release date. Finally, September 25th. It will be coming to Switch to or. And let me read. Officially launches first for consoles digitally on Switch 2 and Hades. And Switch. Switch 2 and Hades 2 comes to Nintendo Switch on September 25th. So there you go.
B
Yeah.
A
Yes. Okay, great. We love this one so much. Let me read the entire blurb here. All right. It's a longer one, but we love Hades. You should love Hades 2. Battle beyond the Underworld and Hades 2. Nintendo Switch 2 and Edition. An action packed roguelike dungeon crawler that reacts to your every setback and accomplishment. As the princess of the underworld. You'll explore a bigger, deeper, mythical world and vanquish the forces of the Titan of time. With the full might of Olympus behind you. Experience the game at 120 frames per second in TV mode on Nintendo Switch 2 and enjoy cross save compatibility between Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch and the PC version. Hades 2. Nintendo Switch 2 Edition launches first for consoles digitally on Nintendo Switch 2 and Hades 2 comes the Nintendo Switch on September 25th with digital pre orders later today on my Nintendo Store website. And the Eshop physical versions of the game will be available November 20th.
C
Gotta get that.
A
Gotta get some hours. You already got 80 some hours.
C
And you said 82 hours and super pumped to put more hours into this video game. This is as. This is as good as video games get. Hades 1 was really kind of groundbreaking for showing a lot of people who super giant is after they'd been putting out bangers already.
A
Yeah.
C
And Hades 2 I think is. Yeah, I think it's as good as it gets. Man. This game rocks. There's so much depth to it. There's so. There's so much variety in builds and power ups and it's one of those games where whenever you stop to talk to an NPC I'm at the point now 82 hours in where I'm like I, I need you to not have new stuff to tell me every time. And that's a stupid thing to complain about but I can't believe they're still still more that you're saying that I've never heard like this is insane type. With the amount of NPCs there are and the amount of things that you can, you all can converse about. It's. It's wild. This game rules, boss fights are amazing. It is. I mean that's the template for what you want to do if you're an indie studio making a like a, a top down action game, you know.
B
Yeah, I forget where I left off as far as like hours wise but like when they first released this in early access, right. I think we all played a bunch and my thing was all right, I gotta stop because I don't want to, you know, spoil my dinner here. I'm gonna wait until the full release is out.
A
See I went the full other way right where when HADES one went to early access I was, I love super giant. Jumped in, played a bunch, was happy with it and then when it launched fully I'd already ate so much that I didn't really go and engage with it. So this one I'm cold turkey. I've not touched. I'm like I wanted to wait for.
B
1.0 and I'll say like Hades for the early access portion. I played of it already. Like I like this more than Hades one which is a high bar to to reach. But they already reached it.
C
It gets better and better with every update. I can't believe the amount of stuff they keep on adding.
A
Michael.
D
Yeah Greg, I'm similar to you as I played a little bit of the early access and then I put it down knowing that when this fully drops I'm going to be all in on this. And so I'm excited to jump right in right away here right around the corner. Too exciting.
A
Can't wait. From there we move to a little Kirby Air Riders update. The big news here, two new Amiibos you can get Kirby and Warp Star and Bandana Wad and Wingstar. They launch the same day as the game on November 20. They are sold separately. You can tap them to summon figure players in game that can then train. You can Train and level up. You can even swap riders just like in the game, and choose your rider and machine. Look out for more Kirby Air Rider Amiibo updates in the future. And that's not all. A second Kirby Air Riders Direct, hosted by the games director, Mr. Zachariah, is coming in the future.
C
What more is there to say about this game?
B
Game?
A
I don't know. It's Sakurai.
B
He loves.
C
What if they're like, we're going to show you Andy's dog gameplay.
A
We recorded everyone's gameplay. And let's see the worst of the worst turns. And it's Andy.
C
Man. I, I, I could tell that the Nintendo employees behind me were just like, God, this guy's just not doing well.
A
I, I think about it sometimes when a PR person's watching me play a game and like, I'm not having fun. Like, oh, this preview is going to be rough. I got to put it in the notebook so they know to look out for this one. Anybody else got? Kurt, you going to buy the amoeba as anybody?
B
Hell no.
D
I do think they're pretty cool though. I like those.
C
Hell no.
D
Yeah. No.
C
Are you gonna get them?
A
No, no, no, no.
C
I like the Kirby one. I, I, I love Kirby enough that I will probably get that after. You know, I have the, I have a figurine from Good Smile, the one who make the all the nice and stuff. They, they have one of him wrapped around the car.
A
The Kirby.
B
The Kirby.
C
The Kirby Kirby. You. Yeah. In forgotten Land.
A
Kirby.
B
He, I just, I just picture Kirby.
C
Mouth mode when he mouth when he mouthful modes.
D
But they should do this for Mario Karts. There's your million dollar idea.
A
Amiibos. You can switch any bars, you can.
D
Switch different car bases with different races.
B
Now we're cooking.
A
Now we're cooking.
C
You just added so much to the revenue right there.
B
Thank you.
A
Yeah.
C
I bet you though, honestly, here's something to tack on to your thing.
A
Thing.
C
I feel like whenever the year anniversary of Mario Kart is, we'll get that in addition to whatever the DLC is.
B
Smart, smart.
A
Resolute in the super chat, even though we're going to get to it in a little bit, does have the breaking news that the DK DLC is out and available now. How much do you think it is, Andy?
C
It cost money.
A
Yeah, it was a paid DLC. This is the one they started saying paid DLC.
C
20.
D
Okay, Mikey, I'm going to go with $10 blessing.
B
20.
A
$20 is 1999. Good job, everybody. In the actual presentation we moved on to high, high rule warriors, age of imprisonment. Of course. This will be the first Musou game Andy ever plays. It is arriving November 6, 2025.
C
November 6, 2025.
D
Write it down. Make room.
C
Might be busy.
B
I got plans that day. I'm weirdly excited for this one. Me too.
C
Just to see, like, Zelda's perspective of this story, you know, her being sent back in time, the teases of the, like, kind of OG OG hero that we learn a little bit about in Tears of the Kingdom. I'm excited for some Lore stuff in terms of gameplay. We'll see if it clicks with me. I'm not the biggest Musou guy I. But I'm always impressed with how they combine Musou elements into these crossover games like Persona and the. The others Zelda ones.
B
So I'm.
C
I'm interested to play on.
B
I play as Raru.
C
You know, I talked about this last.
B
Time and this Korok. Holy. I forgot about this.
C
Yeah, he got a little leaf hat, little cowboy hat. I talked about this last time. But on paper, science, like, scientifically, and like, statistically, this should be my.
A
Oh, okay.
C
Because, like, I love a game like Vampire Survivors when it. When it tickles your brain, it makes you feel good by seeing your ability. Ability affecting 7,000 enemies. And you're like, oh, that feels good to have this new power up that's going to cover up so much range. And now I expanded the radius of this move now or whatever, and it. Musou games have always just been that in a 3D world. And I don't know why. That's never quite clicked.
A
That's a really interesting perspective. You're right.
C
But this just. Yeah, this seems like, all right, I gotta give it a shot because I'm always. Whenever I'm in a game and I have a move that affects a wide radius of enemies, I get so punched, pumped up, and this should make a lot of sense for me. So hopefully I can give this one a shot.
D
Who's the Lubu of the Zelda world here, Barrett, that you're gonna be fighting? Who's the badass in this?
B
Like the hard boss?
D
Yeah. Who's the super hard boss? That's gonna be like the guy you never remember.
B
Long fallen dynasty.
C
What do you mean by Lu Boo? What is that?
D
Dynasty Warriors.
B
He's a boss that appears.
C
It's like, because they always take, like, Lubu real life. Is Lubu like the final boss or are they just like a ridiculously hard, hard bus, like, early on final Boss. Final boss. It'll probably be Ganon. I'll say that.
B
He's gonna be one of them horsemen. One of them horse dudes.
C
Oh, the Lionel Richia.
D
Oh my God. Remember when I fought one of those and dominated it?
C
God, I mean, took you like 60 minutes.
A
That's what they call you.
C
Do we remember that? I don't know.
A
I don't recall.
C
Remember? No. Well, I wasn't on that stream. It was you and Nick. Nick was watching you fight this Lionel for Nick was talking about Psych. Yeah, and Femdoms.
A
From there we moved on to Dragon Quest 7 reimagined. We'll bring in a super chat chat from Kebabs who says, is Dragon Quest 7 a remake, a remaster, or reimagining? The official description reads, rediscover a tale. Rediscover a tale of plucky companions brimming with joy and heartbreak as you discover the truth behind why your kingdom is the only remaining island in world. The game features a new art style that blends diorama visuals with Akira Toriyama's iconic character designs as well as a streamlined main story moon lighting system that allows two vocations to be equipped at once and more experience a timeless classic in a whole new way. When Dragon Quest VII Reimagined launches on Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch February 5, 2026, you can preorder to receive a costume for the hero along with helpful items in the the game. So I have no idea what it sounds.
B
I mean, I would say a remake, right? It's got to be a remake if we're talking about.
C
But it says reimagined.
B
Okay, here's what I'll say. It doesn't matter. You know what I mean? You look at what. What's on screen. Do you want that or not? For fancy critic.
A
Had enough?
B
I'm. I'm so done with Roger.
D
We're already deep in the discord.
B
Get the out of the discord. For fancy critic purposes, I'd be like, this is cool. I feel like this is all right.
C
Yeah, this is. This is a full on remake.
B
Like, this is fine.
A
100%.
B
The only aspect I don't like of this game taking the fantasy critic out.
C
Of it is this man's face. It looks weird.
B
Yeah, I love him.
D
I think it's cute.
C
I think he sticks out like a sore thumb compared to everybody else.
B
He's too grown for that art.
C
As much as I. As much as I love the Toriyama art style, I don't know if it is fully 100% translating to the chibi fied. Everybody else has a little baby body now. Totally off topic. I was as I was editing the the Silksong man marathon and Barrett was in the chat, really annoyed with Mike and Roger. As I was also annoyed by them in the room. Mike goes, barrett, you gotta be here. Matt, you should be here right now, Barry. Because me, Andy, Roger were conspiring for fantasy. He was like, but you're not here. We're cheating.
D
We're deep in there. Don't worry.
C
Just straight up admitting that they're cheating.
A
Phone calls.
C
We're cheating.
D
Things are gonna happen.
A
The Rosalina storybook is also now up on the Nintendo store. 24.99 releases. No, 25th.
D
That's a good price tag.
A
That's not bad for a kid. For a kid. Like look at. I'm gonna buy this for Ben. Cuz that's a hardcover pages, you know.
B
I mean like own a novel.
A
I mean again, I think 14. You would all be shocked at the amount children's books cost. I look at 24.9, I'm like, oh, that's reasonable for like what they're putting into it. But yeah, no page count on this one for you, of course. Sorry, I can't help you there. I can read the description, but the real page, it's just four pages back to actually what we were doing in order as we did it. Guess what, everybody? The Nintendo Today app still exists. It's still getting updates. Don't worry about it. Thank you very much, Barrett. There is a new Kirby theme that is being added. So that's huge. And there's gonna be more Kirby news. They did make a big deal about it being all about like, all right, I guess. Thank you for that. And then they went to the big one. They said, now we have some news for Nintendo Switch Online plus expansion pack members. This is where you should all get hyped. And what did they fucking do? These psychos are bringing back the. The Virtual Boy. They're bringing back the Virtual Boy. And it was that thing where it's like, okay, Virtual Boy, Nintendo Classics. That makes sense. They started showing stuff the games like, that's cool. I wonder how to work on Switch. Then these crazy motherfuckers announced that there will be a Virtual Boy headset. You buy and put your Switch into required at the very end. They're like, there's also gonna be a cardboard version. But to play these fucking games, they want you to go buy this. I'm gonna read the official description while this goes. Select games From Nintendo's stereoscopic 3D system, Virtual Boy are coming to Nintendo Classics exclusively for Nintendo Switch Online, plus expansion pack members. To play, you'll need Joy Con or Joy Con 2 controllers and the dedicated accessory based on the original Virtual boy hardware, stereoscopic 3D included. When inserting the Nintendo Switch 2 or Nintendo Switch System, dive into titles like Mario's Tennis, Galactic Pinball Tell Row Boxer and more as they release over time. Virtual Boy Nintendo Classics comes in Nintendo Switch Online and expansion pack February 17, 2026. The accessory needed to play Virtual Boy, Nintendo Classics as well as a cardboard version, will be available to pre purchase on the my Nintendo store in the future.
C
Hell yeah, it's hilarious.
B
It's awesome.
C
It's weird as hell. And you know, aside from, you know, them selling you that piece of hardware which the Die Hards will be buying, um, I, you know, I think it's, I think it's pretty natural to go, what the are they doing? But I think it's good that these games are otherwise just not playable anywhere. And that's, it's kind of cool to go and take a little history lesson and go, oh, what was up with these games? Because I've personally never played any of these. I know that they exist, you know, through nefarious means. What? Allegedly.
A
Allegedly.
C
But I think it's really cool that these are possible to now look at and they're not just gone to history, you know, they're not gone to time anymore.
A
No, it is cool. And I do appreciate Nintendo taking care of it and giving you options and making even. Because I think so many people making a GameCube controller that works with the Switch 2 is a weird thing, but they do it because they know they have that kind of audience, that kind of nostalgia, that kind of lineage. In the super chats over here, Violet's archive resubscribes and says, had a Virtual Boy back in the day. Actually looking forward to this. So it's like, yeah, like, I'm glad it's there. I think again, it's funny too. And it's also Nintendo's been open about like, yeah, that was a miss on our part. You know what I mean? Like they're still celebrating their entire lineup.
C
Would you like to know the buy in price for getting to experience Virtual Boy on the Nintendo Switch console?
A
Yeah. How much is exactly 9?
C
9 is where I'm putting it.
A
80 bucks.
D
120.
B
How about the cardboard?
C
Cardboard version as well?
A
80 bucks for the cardboard. Better be cardboard. 20.
B
30.
C
20. Cardboard version is 24.99.
B
Okay.
C
The, the big boy virtual boy is 99.99. The goat, that's for Sickos, though.
A
I mean, again, I look at it and it's a piece of hardware.
C
A Pro controller is 8090 or whatever.
A
And I'm not saying that's worth it, but I don't think that's crazy.
C
No. Yeah.
A
I, I, I think it would be crazy to buy it. I don't know. I've never heard of anyone be like, I'm such a Virtual Boy fan. I miss it. Like, I'll be honest.
B
I'm lost. I'm, I, I'm lost with the pricing conversation. I think just for overall, right? Even for the Galaxy games, I'm kind of like, I don't know what I would price it. I don't, like, I don't, I feel like, pay what you want. I'm not buying this. I feel like most of y' all ain't buying this. The people who, who want to play the 100 pay the $100. Like, cool. Like, go do that.
A
It, it makes it stereoscopic, right? So there's a screen inside that goes over your switch. Switch. Like, I think it's, Oh, I guess. But the cardboard, I don't know. Can you set, can you we see what you're looking at or is that just.
C
Yeah, hold on. You keep talking.
A
Okay. Sorry.
D
I like that you put on your desk.
A
D. Davis says it'll flop like the OG Virtual Boy. Oh, lol. Jk. He says. Like, I mean, it's going to sell out. Yeah. See, there's lenses on it, so it's, I mean, there's stuff again and again. I'm not, I'm not carrying water for it. I wouldn't buy this. You shouldn't probably the either, but it's cool that it exists for weirdos like Craig Harris. I don't know.
C
Yeah, I'm not, I'm not surprised by the pricing though. Like, they. Whatever you think the price should be, tack $40 onto it.
A
You know, Marty Hearn says, why can't I cut my own cardboard and use that? Do you have the lenses? I don't. You know what I mean?
B
But I think you can.
C
You probably could make your own.
A
I'm sure there will be a DIY version to play 14 bad games. Like, again, let's not get caught buying into a meme. They're memeing you. Yeah, but I'm excited to see stupid ass Tim at his desk playing this. Make some videos of his dumbass labo.
B
Has like a VR thing to it. I wonder if you could just use.
C
That or like retro again.
A
Yeah. Once it's out and people are like this is just these get two magnifying glasses from the dollar store reminder.
C
Bless. Labo is not compatible. Oh, you're right.
B
Yeah. That's a good call.
A
From there we started getting some versions of things that are, you know, we got a lot. Whatever Nintendo. We Got Fatal Frame 2 Crimson Butterfly remake coming early 2066.
C
Got nothing to say other than these are the ways to gauge future entries into series. And I thought it looked better than what I would ass. I guess I'm just so trained to how Switch games normally look that it's like oh man. That's right. Like they're. They're finally a bit more updated.
A
Yeah.
C
And things don't look like terrible most of the time.
A
From there we got a whole bunch of Nintendo Switch 2 editions. We got One Piece Pirate Warriors 4 coming fall 2020 25. You were excited, Mike. Yeah.
D
I love One Piece.
A
Thank you.
D
It's the greatest thing ever.
A
Overcooked 2 is coming holiday 2025. What's cool about that one is it's using camera play so you can have your little faces on there as you run around doing your thing. Make the screen even more crazy.
C
Me and Bus were talking mad about Overcook.
D
It's crazy. I love Overcooked is one of the greatest games of all time.
C
So bad.
B
I hate it.
A
Dude, it's cuz you're bad at it.
C
Yeah, it's just not. It's just. If anything it tells me how much more I have a mental disorder. Like it just. It just accentuates like. And you can't compartmentalize anything.
B
Y. I need to talk to Andy because whatever Andy got, I think I got to.
A
I gotta figure that out for a whole bunch of sickos. Big news. Stardew Valley is Getting Nintendo Switch 2 version fall 2025. This will include mouse controls and four player split screen. I know how much people love Stardew around here. That's cool to jump over and have that information there. And then human fall flat. Spring 2026. Getting edition with a Switch 2 edition with Mouse controls as well. From there we moved on to see some power wash simulator 2 footage. This is coming fall 2020 25.
D
Still no date yet. Like we got the window, but we're still dancing around locking in a date. Waiting on this one. Can't wait.
A
You'll be washing when it's ready. They say. Okay, I'll Be washing.
D
And Andy will be like, mike, you're heavily breathing because we haven't spoken seven minutes.
C
Mike, you're breathing.
B
No, I'm not.
C
Shut up. During our. I need you all to understand. During our Silksong marathon, Mike was playing. Well, it was embargoed at the time. He was playing Borderlands off screen while in the room kind of chatting and talking. And for a while you just hear the breathing. I was like, mike, you're breathing really loud right now. He was like, no, stop it. And then he decided to record a video so he could monitor and listen back to his breathing.
D
I'm doing it.
C
The. The results of that may surprise you.
D
For my own doctors.
A
For my own doctors. Well, Mike, stay on that microphone because.
C
Up got him on Tik tok.
A
Up next. It happened. Suica Game planet the hit puzzle game returns in outer space collide matching fruit to evolve them larger fruit and higher scores drop fruit towards the center of the planet to create as many big watermelons Suica as possible and net bonus points by triggering new super evolution combos. Suica game plan on Nintendo Switch 2 also features an exclusive local four player co op mode with game share. Suica game planet launches on Nintendo Switch 2. And Nintendo Switch is a timed exclusive this winter.
D
Yeah, this rocks, Greg. We're out of the jar and now we're just kind of floating around this cool little planet. I can't wait to play. Play more of it. 4 player co op is really dope. They have a 2 player split screen mode where you're kind of battling each other for a high score that me and Kevin have already been playing. But now that we can team up together, that's going to be a blast. Suica game. Fantastic. Everybody loves Suica game.
A
Everybody, everyone.
D
Have you.
A
I remember it's huge. Now I've not shown it to be.
D
Oh, Ben might freak. Yeah, this could expand his mind.
C
Yeah, they get really into fruits.
A
Dude. Hey, that's the last thing my bank account needs right now. This is what happened yesterday. Yesterday, right? Because this. I don't know if you all know as parents, you go broke buying berries and fruit. That's all these kids want to eat. We bought a crate of mango from Costco, right? Yeah, I love mango too. Of course. Yesterday. Yesterday, this bottomless pit of a sun, right? Has his chicken nuggets, has his Mac and cheese and has his carrots. And then he's like, I want mango. So I cut up this mango and I give it to him in while he's watching tv because we're hanging out in the kitchen with a Jen's sister and I, I. And then he marches back in. He goes, I didn't want this mango. I want it. And I'm like, what did you want? He's like, I want the dried mango. And I was like, oh, okay. And this hands me the empty bowl.
D
And I go, no, no, no, no, no.
A
You don't yell at me about the mango if you ate the mango. And then he starts laughing. I'm like, oh, it's a.
C
You got to walk into the room. He's.
A
Up next. Was finally a release date for Metroid Prime 4 Beyond. It is coming out December 4, 2025. After an unexpected accident, Samus finds herself transported to the mysterious planet. View Ross. Scan your surroundings for clues. Make the most of your equipment and weapons, and use Samus's newfound psychic abilities and her technologically advanced bike, the Viola, to transfer traverse. I'm sorry. And explore the the environment. You'll need every tool at your disposal to survive and escape. View Ross. December 4th. Also coming to switch one the same day the them setting her up on the bike. Awesome, awesome, awesome. Then this footage of her on the bike. And I was like, whoosh.
D
In the empty desert. Oh, no.
B
This doesn't like seeing them.
A
This ain't. This ain't it.
C
Yeah. Lighting doesn't look awesome. There's only so much you can do in it. I think the best a desert has ever looked in a video game is Monster Hunter Wilds.
A
Dude, I was going to say with.
C
The cloud cover and stuff like that, it's hard to make a desert look awesome because there's nothing to cast shadows or anything like that. But yeah, I really driving into this.
A
Place in the dark and the thunder and lightning, that looked awesome. This, I mean, if it was just like you get on the bike to go from one area to the other. Awesome.
C
100%. Yeah. It does seem like it's just going to be one of the modes of transportation between zones, but otherwise, yeah, finally we got a date, and I'm stoked to play this video game.
A
How do we feel about the date blessing at AOE Jr.
B
I, I mean, you look at Nintendo's calendar and I, I, I think this is kind of where we predicted.
A
Right.
B
The other months looked like they're filling up. It does bum me out that it's going to slightly miss that, like, game of the year for, like, the game awards and stuff, but, like, you know, it'll be in our game of the year and we'll talk about It. Right. I mean, we'll see the game, the.
A
Running for our game discussion.
B
It'll be a game that we're like, okay, well, we got to play this to see if it's going to be in our top 10. But other than that. Right.
D
Like.
B
Like, I'm down for a December release. I feel like December usually.
C
Dude, I want that amiibo. That's going to be at least $34.99.
A
Yeah, the Amiibo. Another large. A large amiibo of her on the bike. Very, very cool. I like that one too. Yeah. Available number November 6th as well. We got a super chat from AM Ambrose. Ambrosia Jam. Ambrosia Jam. I got there in the end. It's all lowercase. I just can't keep up. You did great. Metroid, Tron and Beyond.
C
I like that.
A
Yeah, I like that too. Mike, are you going to play Metroid 4?
D
Yeah, can't wait.
A
Okay.
D
I'm surprised that I dropped off of the recent Metroid Remastered. I played about three hours that enjoyed it. I think I got a little lost and I put it down. But I've been putting a lot more time and love into the switch lately, so I wouldn't be surprised if I tell you, hey, I went back and I played this in preparation for this one.
A
Okay. Good stuff from there. A surprise, everybody. Donkey Kong Bonanza, dlc, DK island, and Emerald Rush. Bless you. Didn't see it coming.
B
I didn't see it coming. Even as the trailer started and you get the. Hey, here's like a beachy area. The DK Isle music from it from DK 64 kicked in.
A
Yeah.
B
And I didn't know what to think because I was like, I don't think this song is in a level in the original. So it wasn't until we get the shot of the actual DK island where I'm like, oh, damn. They were actually doing it super cool. You know, this was one that I. On KHD the other day. I was like, no, I don't think we're going to get DK Bonanza DLC at least this early. Yeah. Mainly because for Mario Odyssey, we never really got a big, like, paid DLC thing. We got free updates. We got, like, you know, features here and there. But them putting in the DK island, them adding in this Roguelite mode, speaks to my heart as somebody who loves DK, love DK64, love DK Bonanza, and then also loves Roguelites.
A
Right.
B
Like, this is kind of a match made in heaven for me. So And I think this looks really cool.
A
Yeah. Paid DLC 20 bucks. You'll barrel around with Donkey Kong and Pauline on DK island, home to some familiar faces. Once you finish the main game story, Void Kong will offer you a position in Void Company, collecting as much emerald ore as you can in Emerald Rush, both on DK island and in the lairs from the main game. In each run of this new mode, you'll collect fossils to gain helpful perks for different effects and smash Bonandium gems to power up DK with different skills. Play this mode to unlock new fashions, collectible statues that can be displayed on DK island and more. Of course, like we said, 20 bucks. It is available right now. Andy, will you be jumping in?
C
Oh, gosh. I just think there's two. There's too many things to be playing right now. I. I would love to. I never even beat the core game. And I know that's kind of a sin because I. I guess in my mind it's not the greatest way to be thinking, but I'm like, it'll make our top 10 anyway. It'll be way high up there. So, like, yeah, I don't need to add extra points to it. Let me play something else. But I. I know it's fantastic. I just. I. I think there was like, just other things out.
A
Sure, of course. Yeah. Mikey, you coming back for the dlc?
D
Oh, hell yeah. I have to beat the game still, but I can't wait to play this.
C
Yeah, I had a lot of fun with what I played. I just never returned to it.
A
I'm the same way. I love Donkey Kong. It is in my game of the year conversation. I have not finished it though. And so coming back and having more stuff to do is always exciting. After Donkey Kong, we got a brand new Pokemon game. Pokemon Pocopoeia plays Ditto, who is transformed to look like a human to shape an empty land into a beautiful space for a variety of Pokemon. Learn new moves from Pokemon. You meet to expand and create a paradise. Collect berries, rocks and wood. Build furniture. Grow vegetables and fields you've tilled. Create homes for Pokemon you meet and more Pokemon Pocopia take shape on Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026. What the fuck? What the fuck? I do not. I. I just don't like Ditto taking on a human form and then walking around like a fucking weirdo.
C
We could have just played out as Ditto, you know?
D
Yeah, it's interesting you bring it up. I like it if you go further on, because Ditto will absorb the Powers of different Pokemon to affect the environment.
A
Right.
D
You saw them becoming Hit Hitmonchan Hitman Chan to punch the gravel away. And so like I see why they're doing that. Right. Ditto absorbs the power, does something different with it. And I, I, I'm into it. I actually like this. This is going to, this going to, this going to pop off.
A
I'm definitely going to try it. Obviously, like, I enjoy Minecraft. I enjoy my animal crossings. There's a few world builders, farmers that I've gotten into before. So I'm fine. I just need to get over this creepy ass. Ditto inhabits a human body that's dead. Because that's what it looks like to me.
D
Everybody in the 90s when Pokemon took over, I was begging for shit like this.
B
Ditto just looks like that.
C
This is his eyes. I was talking about this recently, how this. I just want the palworld without the guns and the, the like the, the idea of kind of building your own little, your house and seeing the progression and going, oh, now I can plant these sort of things. And all that stuff just really kind of tickles my brain in a way that I enjoy. It's not. This is like 75% of the way there. It would be 100 if you remove the Ditto girl.
A
Yeah.
C
No, but like this is kind, this is getting close to what I want out of these style of video games because it is the Pokemon ip, which I love, obviously. And, and I, it's just, it's such a weird swing that it's another one of those things where you go, yeah, Nintendo's still gonna do weird.
A
This is why they came so hard after Pal World.
C
Yeah.
A
What the fuck? We were working on this. Get the hell out of here. Hey, Kuya J Super chats and says that Ditto is taking on its dead trainers form, which I appreciate. And then Three Finger says Tim is probably relieved he's no longer the number one kind of funny Pokemon reviewer. And you know, this is my cross to bear. So if I need to play Pokemon.
B
Cotopia, the dead trainer thing is interesting because like you did have to see a human to copy it.
A
Yeah.
B
So what happened to that human? Yeah, like were they passing by?
C
Where did that.
B
They're passed out somewhere.
C
Passed on.
B
Passed on to the next plane.
A
From there, we kept the Pokemon train running. We got a Pokemon Legend Za trailer, of course, coming out October 16th. I will be reviewing it. But if that wasn't enough, they said, then continue your adventures in Loot Lumo City with Pokemon Legends Za Mega Dimension Paid DLC EXPANSION Mysterious distortions have appeared without warning in Lumos City. They seem to connect it to a space known as Hyperspace. Lumos and the mythical Pokemon Hoopa might have some part to play. Discover new evolutions like Mega Raichu X and Mega Raichu Y and more.
C
What are you doing? Delete this Vod. If you want any credibility, review Z.
A
To A. I'm the new generation of Pokemon. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. But Pikachu never evolved. It's hard. Did you know that male Pikachus have the lightning bolt tail and then the females have a little heart? All right. I know my Pokemon.
C
It's a big pivotal moment where they.
B
Have to fight a Raichu. And Ash has to think about if.
C
He'S going to level up Pikachu to a Raichu.
B
And he says no.
A
You know what would be helpful? If these video games had vo. So I don't just read it. He read it in the book.
B
Okay. It will have the own.
C
It'll be like Tomachi Life.
D
That's beautiful, Greg. I love that. Let's. Let's push for that.
A
I also do know this because Scott and Cindy's cat is name ratio. But I was just like, you know.
C
Yeah, Mike doesn't want to read.
D
Here's two sentences.
A
Sucks. You know what I mean? Anyways, paid DLC for that, which is no news. Yeah, I mean it's news that it's now. So we have a name for it. But obviously Pokemon games always get that beforehand, so whatever.
B
Hey, dlc.
A
Yeah, that was the word. They were thrown around, which I appreciate them like, hey, we're not. We're not just saying DLC and then you get pissed off when it's not there. You know what I mean?
B
Yeah.
A
From there then you got the old Danganronpa. This is two by two. It's the remake of Danganronpa 2. Goodbye to spare. And I know. Let me actually. I don't know if that's. They're actually calling it a remake remake. But Danganronpa2 goodbye spare is making the ultimate comeback. This game features brand new scenario with a completely different victims and. And culprits in the freshly revamped Original scenario from Danganronpa2. Danganronpa 2X2 launches on Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch in 2026. So there you go. I was never a fan. I tried. God, how I tried on Vita a few times, but no. Just never happened for me. But Dynasty Warriors Origins is coming and so is Paid dlc.
B
Hell yeah.
D
Lit. I'm still, I'm still on the fence of you gotta prove to me that these third party games look good, play good. We'll see that. Looks like a lot are coming our way. We'll see that over the course of this year of like the Switch 2 is really going to prove itself to me as a consumer of like, I can trust this and I'm willing to start putting my money into knowing that this awesome console is with me on the go. Or should I be looking at another handheld to believe in that, you know?
A
Of course, Dynasty Warriors Origins advances to the front line of Nintendo Switch 2 on January 22, 2020. From there, we rolled into Monster Hunter Stories 3. Let's find out about the monsties, as they say. That one's coming out March 13, 2026. Anybody want anything to say about that? I assumed from there. Another montage of games coming to the Nintendo Switch lineup of platforms Two Point Museum, Disgaea 7 complete, EA Sports FC 26, Dragon Quest 1 plus 2 HD remake, whatever that was called. Virtual Fighter 5, Lego Voyagers, Little Nightmares 3 and Persona 3 reload. Good to see the support. Good to see stuff coming over. Then we rolled into Resident Evil Requiem, of course, coming out February 27, 2026. Coming to Switch alongside Resident Evil 7 and Resident Evil Village.
B
For me, I echo what Mike just said as far as the Switch proving itself with the third party stuff, because Resident Evil is a franchise, especially when you're talking about a new Resident Evil game is one that I want to look the best as possible. I want the RE engine to shine, I want the lighting to be great and all that stuff. And when we did the demo, is it me and Andy that did the demo? Me and Greg that did the demo? Me and Tim? It was me and Tim that went to Capcom. Me and Tim went to Capcom to play the demo of our Requiem. Right? And like, both of us were like, man, this game looks good. Like we, we love the visuals of it and so lovely. That's coming to Switch. Let's go. But also, yeah, I want to see this shine.
C
I thought it looked great trailer.
A
I think for the game, great trailer.
C
I, I, I, it didn't look as. I think it looked really awesome in some spots where you go, oh wow, this is a, a, this is running on Switch 2 hardware. And I saw people in the beginning go like, man, it's the same damn trailer. Until they started showing extra shots.
B
Yeah.
C
But the whole point of it is to show how this thing can run on the Switch 2. I thought it looked great in some spots, a little less good in some others, but otherwise I think it's, you know, it's exciting for Switch 2 gamers to be able to play something that will, will look this visually cool on that hardware for sure. I also want to go back to just real quick to a little montage you talked about because I wanted to double check to see if LEGO Voyages was going to be split screen or not. And it is, which is really nice because the LEGO Builder's Journey is one of my, one of my favorites. I was a good ass little video game.
A
And then to close out the show, it was one the only. Fire Emblem Fortunes weave coming in 2026, the heroic games have begun. The newest entry in the Fire Emblem series is set to enter the arena. The debut trailer provided a glimpse the intertwining stories, characters and turn based tactical RPG gameplay that awaits players when the game launches for Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026. Yay for fire Emblem fans.
C
Stoked for them, I mean this is massive for them. Three Houses is hugely regarded as like an amazing game. Awesome reviews across the board and yeah, this is, it's massive for them. This is great. Cool.
B
Yeah, this is the one that I definitely want to try when it comes out. Fire Emblem is one that, that hearing people talk about it and seeing passion for it, you know, Andy mentions that it's a highly regarded, amazing game. Right. But like when you talk about the Switch 1 games of the era, like the best Switch 1 games, people would put Fire Emblem Three Houses in those conversations. This one was cool. I, I watched the trailer and for me, I'm somebody who's not really the, the biggest tactics guy, but I'm not anti tactics, you know what I mean? Like live alive. I played, I loved. You know what I mean? So like this, I'm, I'm excited for it to come out, for that forever to come back and I really want to try it out.
A
And that was the Nintendo Direct for September 12, 2025. We're still locked in on scores. Andy and 8. Me and 8. Mike was a 6.5.
D
Look, 6. 7. A little 6. 7.
A
Make a choice, don't make a choice. Just say 65 because 7. Oh, wow. Bless.
B
I forget 7.5 lowercase.
A
We're all staying in there.
B
Okay.
A
Yes, I like that.
C
Official.
A
I like that a lot. A few super chats to get to Austin. Super chats and says I was on Greg's side until he read Raichu again.
B
Oh, he said it right that time.
A
I do know the thing the cat was named. Right? You. I get it. I'm reading fucking nonsense. I got three different windows open trying to keep up. Y' all do this. Y' all sit there in your own fucking filth watching us entertain.
C
You don't turn on me.
A
All right? We had a fun thing going here where I.
C
He's scared it's gonna get taken away.
A
Exactly. Everyone's allowed to on me in this video. But once this is done, Tim can't know.
C
I. I think we give the review to Andy. Thank you. Thank you, Bear. There was a while though, that it was Ghost of Yotai.
A
So it's just like we had the.
C
Whole thing that sometimes just has a reading problem.
A
100. Do you want to make fun of my disability?
C
Yeah.
D
Wow.
A
Is that who you guys want to be?
C
Ableism.
A
Yeah. You hate to see it. Ariel and I said I had my money. And Super Chat, I said I have my money. I had my money. On a Persona 4 Golden Remake trailer, which I think is just way too early.
C
Yeah. That game is years out. Because what they showed at Xbox right.
A
This year.
C
Right. Was like 10 seconds of gameplay when they announced reload. Like they. They showed like the battle system and all that stuff. Like the Persona 4 remake is way early and they announced that way too early.
A
Then Resolute points out the virtual boy cost $300 originally with no game.
C
So this is a good deal.
A
Nice. Super Chat said we haven't gotten anything.
C
Practically making money, was there.
B
Did I dream up that the Virtual Boy had like controversy around it of people like throwing up and getting headaches and stuff like that?
A
Vaguely remember headaches. I remember the headaches.
D
I don't remember the. In the Oculus, when I throw that.
C
Thing out of the meta quest really just knocks me out.
D
Trying to kill him.
C
Takes me out for the day.
B
I love it.
A
Sometimes when he wants to go home, he just puts it on. I was trying to do something for the company. I gotta.
B
People get headaches.
C
I can't watch people play VR gameplay. Like when I. When I'm just watching Mike play a VR thing and I watch his moving, like, oh, God, I can't do well.
A
That's.
C
That's weird.
A
That even for me is somebody who is fine. If you are watching other people do stuff like that where you don't know there's something you know in your head when you know you're turning a right or left or up or down. It's like one thing when you're just watching somebody else do, like, well, but.
C
I can watch a keyboard mouse gameplay. It's weird. I don't know.
A
Oh that's interesting. That's an interesting.
B
I get nostalgia for like the early era of VR and when I say early era, probably more like the mid era whenever the PSVR one.
C
Yeah, yeah, you meant like the Samsung Galaxy.
B
I mean I did use the cardboard. The Galaxy Cardboard I did use.
C
I bought that little $50 device from Best Buy. Hey grandma, let me show you this aquarium.
A

Date: September 12, 2025
Hosts: Greg Miller, Blessing Adeoye Jr, Andy Cortez, Snowbike Mike
The Kinda Funny crew gathers—very early in the morning—to deliver a comprehensive review and breakdown of Nintendo's September 2025 Direct. With the usual mix of hype, jokes, and industry insight, the panel recaps the biggest announcements, shares their impressions on new games, and rates the event on their 1-10 scale while engaging with live community feedback.
Panel is Sleepy But Hyped:
Despite the 7AM start (00:29), everyone's energy rides the post-Direct buzz.
Immediate Scores (Main Segment 08:04 – 12:45):
Dialog and chat included complaints about using letter grades, reinforcing the show’s 1–10 review system.
The panel concludes that this Nintendo Direct was stronger than recent ones, though legacy franchises and surprise announcements sometimes overshadowed pacing and third-party excitement. Consensus is that the Direct delivered great value to core Nintendo fans—even if it veered weird in places (Virtual Boy!), and expectations for Switch 2’s future are high.
