Mike
Good morning, Greg. It's great to see you.
Greg Miller
Over there, of course, the tastemaker, Roger Pokorny.
Roger Pokorny
Hi. I have two cups.
Greg Miller
We would never make fun of you for that.
Mike
I don't know why that you're burning toast every day.
Greg Miller
You burn toast?
Roger Pokorny
No, I just use the toaster oven. And then he's like, someone burning toast in here. And I'm like, I'm just make using the toaster oven.
Greg Miller
I'm not crumbs in there. They make it, smell it. Yeah, I like my toast dark. So like, you know.
Roger Pokorny
Yeah, and it wasn't even dark. I make sure not to. But then Mike, I like my fucking bloodhound nose.
Greg Miller
Yeah, yeah, bloodhound nose. That's one way to describe it. Got a pug nose where he's like he can't breathe. You just hear him doing everything. Everybody, welcome to your Kinda Funny gamescast. Thank you to our patreon producers on patreon.com kindafunny Karl Jacobs, Omega Buster and Delaney. The Psalm Twining. We couldn't do this without you. For now though, let's jump into what is and forever will be topic of the show. Tots Tots, tots tots tots tots tots tots everybody. We just did it. We ran through and watched the Nintendo Indie World Showcase showing a multitude of of Indies across 18 minutes of content out there. Before we went live, I asked for hype levels. Roger, of course. Six, seven. He made a big deal and he turned his hat sideways. But more Importantly, Mike said 00 Mike, we're on the other side now. How do you feel about this Nintendo Indie World Show?
Mike
Greg Miller I came in with apprehension. I came in with zero expectations and really Zero desire to watch them. And I am now leaving with a smile on my face because I was pleasantly surprised. There's about five to six games in there that I really enjoyed and smiled. I got some release dates for games like Inconbini and of course mixtape. Mixtape on my birthday too. Shout out to my guy, what's. What's his name?
Greg Miller
Galvatron.
Mike
Johnny Galvatron. It's your boy Snowbike Mike. Give him a to another Jabroni. Dude, you are so right about chicken nuggets. Okay. The boot shaped chicken nugget is the superior shaped chicken nuggets. Okay. If you're not rocking with the boot
Greg Miller
shapes legitimately, I have no idea what the fuck you're talking about.
Mike
At the DICE Awards 2026, Johnny Galvatron spoke about the boot shaped chicken nugget throughout the entire night when we got brought up. Got it now you know.
Greg Miller
No, because I'm dialed into the DICE Awards, you know.
Mike
But like I said, I walked away with a smile on my face. Got some dates for two important games in Conbini and mixtape that I really really enjoy and I'm looking forward to and they're right around the corner and got some games that are dropping today that I can't wait to play. That little shoot em up Zelda like
Greg Miller
mini shoot adventure Y put me down on that one. Of course. Super chatting in Snake Eater says I recommend mini Shoot to literally anyone. It is a Zelda like and it's awesome. I called that when I saw it and I'm very excited about that.
Mike
I will be playing that right away. Rotwood a sid scrolling brawler. We are in the, you know, Shadows of Absolum as Roger brought up. We are looking for another fun co op game. If you love castle crashers like me and that game dropping today. Very exciting. I'm in on that one. Right? And so yeah, we just kind of got some games where it's like oh that's a surprise. That's a nice stealth release drop right there. Blueprints rounding it out today. You can't be mad at this. It was pretty good.
Roger Pokorny
Shadows of Absolum is a great title for an expansion pack. So just heads up everybody. Call me, call me, call them up. You can rent it on the patented
Greg Miller
kind of funny review scale of our 20 point scale. Don't listen to anybody when they say it's 10 points. Jordan Midler, he doesn't know what he's talking about. Where would you place this Nintendo indie showcase?
Mike
I'm going to give it. I Mean, I'm settling in between 7 and 8. Like it was a good time and I would say it was pretty great. Right. So I'm going to give it a 7.5. It was a solid all capital good indie showcase.
Greg Miller
Okay. Okay, Roger. Corny. I get choked up. Sorry. I expected higher scores from Mike.
Roger Pokorny
Let him out.
Greg Miller
Where would you put this on the scale and talk to me a little bit at top level?
Roger Pokorny
Yeah, for me, I'm very much where you're at when it comes to the Nintendo Switch. I love my Nintendo Switch too. It is probably my favorite console I've ever owned. Honestly, use it all the time. I. I just adore playing all my games on the Switch too. Even when, you know, I could be playing Yakuza at 60fps at 4K on my PC, but playing it on this thing, it's like, that's the way I want to play. That is where I want to play. It's so light. It's awesome. Especially with the Kill Switch. I love my Switch Tube. So with that all said, I love the ports here, right? Like all these games, like Mini Shoot Adventures, even Blueprints does something for me, right? A game that I had on my Steam deck that I was playing, that I enjoyed, but I just didn't want to play my Steam deck for extended periods of time. And now we're at the moment, we're like, okay, the hype has died down a little bit. It's on the Switch to what if this is something that I can pick up and tool around with over the next few months? So that, of course, with Denture Tech, with all of these other games here, Minishoot Adventures, I will keep on going. Mini Shoot Adventures, right? That's that in Konbini. Fuck yeah, dude. I'm very, very happy with this. But I still was. I was waiting for where was the. The Silksong dlc? Where is. You know, maybe Fields of Mystery. And I will say, even though it's a really good showcase, Fields of Mystery brought it down for me. I wanted that. That game here.
Greg Miller
Now, you hyped yourself up for that.
Mike
I know and I know.
Roger Pokorny
So that's not against them, but it's against myself. So when I have to look at this, I would say seven out of ten.
Greg Miller
Seven out of ten. Good one.
Roger Pokorny
It's a good one.
Mike
Good one for me.
Greg Miller
I land on an eight. I came in with eight expectations. I feel like I got a eight out of this. I got a great show again. I love indie games. No shocker there. If you pay attention And I thought this was one that was littered with stuff that if I didn't want to play, I was like, oh, I see. I know who this is for. I know why they want to go do this. You know, you jump back to that partner direct we did with that goddamn dinosaur game.
Roger Pokorny
That was for. That was for Mike.
Mike
And I turned up. I beat it in one sitting.
Greg Miller
I know you.
Mike
I had to do a few people.
Greg Miller
You're a real tough guy out there,
Roger Pokorny
you know what I mean?
Greg Miller
Real cool. But this one I thought was colorful, it was lively, it was fast. 18 minutes and it did what I love. And that's putting developers first. Let's get them out there. Let's show you the people who are making your games. Let's let them have some fun. Run through it. I had a great time with this. And yeah, I am open on my store page over here on Nintendo again. Shout out to Nintendo for doing this. And then of course you open up the Switch store. Guess what? There it is. Indie world. Bam. You click on them, they're all right here that you wish list you could buy. You could do whatever you want to for the ones that are there. And yeah, Rottwood and Mini Shoot Adventures are coming home with me today. Of course. And we're hopefully doing a party more for Rottweiler today.
Roger Pokorny
We'll see. I think we need multiple switches though. I don't think we all have four switches.
Greg Miller
I mean only if you guys live close, you know what I mean? If only.
Mike
Hey, you say that. You know what? Let's put that down. As a strong man, I would like to play this game. Roger, we could do it.
Roger Pokorny
We will figure it out.
Mike
We'll figure it out. Let's shine a light on an indie developer. A hard working DEV team out there that needs some help.
Roger Pokorny
Well, we can do it anytime, you know, I mean we don't need to do it.
Mike
We'll figure out holding the bag like that.
Greg Miller
He wants to go play repo game nobody's heard of, nobody cares about.
Roger Pokorny
I didn't.
Greg Miller
Old news, old news. You know what I mean?
Roger Pokorny
I hate it here.
Greg Miller
I know you do. Kevin, does blueprints coming to Switch do anything for you?
Kevin
Yeah, get me codes.
Greg Miller
Okay. Okay. I'm playing in a bed. How many hours did you put into blueprints?
Kevin
Way too many. I don't know. There was a glitch and it stopped me.
Greg Miller
Okay.
Kevin
Awful on PlayStation.
Greg Miller
So you're ready to go back now?
Kevin
Yeah, absolutely. But I put in a lot of hours. I probably around 60. I'd say, but that was like in like a week and a half.
Mike
Can I be honest? I'm intimidated to go back to blueprints. I really wanted you get into blueprints very deep. I was knocking on the door. I was knock, knock, knocking. Yeah. And then I. Then I took a week off and lost every sort of motion into it and I could never get the motion back. And that's a game right there where you need to be in the flow. You have to be in the flow. State of your life. Night one, night two, night. You kind of got to like, keep going. And then. Yeah, when I went back, it was jarring to the point where I was like, I can never do this.
Roger Pokorny
Apparently room 46 is like just the beginning.
Mike
That's what they say.
Roger Pokorny
Yeah.
Greg Miller
Now we have, of course, breaking news. Oh, that's not breaking. But as you know, usually Tim gets to host. I get to run through all the press releases, get all the things gathered. Two super chats I'm going to bring up. Kevin, I need your help on this one.
Roger Pokorny
Okay.
Greg Miller
Kevin C. Barry, 3 to 8 says there's a game. This is, I think, sent before we were. We were. When we were live, reacting. There's a game. I'm really excited for Greg to see. Just a heads up that there's a different game that ends the Japanese broadcast.
Mike
Stop it.
Greg Miller
Also, too many drops today. And then Bander SN says there. There are more games on the Japan Direct. Check out Nintendo Life. I'm going to go to Nintendo Life.
Mike
Holding us back.
Greg Miller
Kevin, if you could bring up the Japanese version of the Nintendo Indie Showcase, I'd love to see what they ended with. Fields of Mystery and see what's going on differently here. Can you imagine?
Roger Pokorny
No.
Greg Miller
Off Roger. And I know that's a hard one. I'm on Nintendo World now. I'm scrolling through to see a game that. I'm sorry. Nintendo Life. I'm on Nintendo Life dot com.
Roger Pokorny
Okay.
Greg Miller
There's blueprints. Oh, okay. Japanese Indie World, March 2026. Bonus announcements. Okay. Oh, man. As well as the games outlined above, the Japanese Indie World Showcase also packed in a handful of games that did not appear in the Western presentation, including a Shadow Drop that's available worldwide.
Mike
Wow.
Greg Miller
Below, we've listed these extras. This one is in Japanese. It's on Switch 1 and I don't know what it is. Then. Ooh. Comes to Switch one today. Bomb Caterpillar. Big Adventure. Ooh. Is a charming yet mysterious exploration puzzle platformer where you discover creative ways to use bombs. Little witch. Little Witch. Of the woods comes to switch one to 2026. Schrodinger's call comes to switch one. May 28th. Japanese rural life adventure comes to switch one today.
Mike
That looks like you, Roger.
Kevin
Is this it?
Greg Miller
Yeah, this is. Good job, Kevin.
Kevin
Like, this is 27 minutes.
Greg Miller
Well, so yeah, they added extra games. This is what I'm talking about. So leave it here while I read this. Japanese Rural Life Adventure is a relaxing slow life simulation where you can experience the charm of traditional Japanese countryside living all in beautifully crafted pixel art world. Okay, I would play this. I like what I'm seeing here. I like the cooking to the English world, but that's exciting. Let me keep going here. So we get to whatever the shadow drop I assume is Magical Girl Witch Trials comes to switch one. July 9th. Homo. We talked about this.
Mike
Nailed that.
Greg Miller
We talked about this in the rundown recently. Is coming in 2026. I thought that might have been maybe go to the very end, Kev. Thank you very much. You're killing it, Kevin. I love you. I appreciate you.
Mike
Take us to the end.
Kevin
Subtitles here.
Greg Miller
Okay. And then the very end.
Mike
Whoa.
Greg Miller
Yeah, this is it. So this is.
Roger Pokorny
Oh, this game.
Greg Miller
We talked about this on the latest game.
Roger Pokorny
Every game coming out in March.
Greg Miller
Yes.
Mike
Yes.
Roger Pokorny
I'm freaking out about this.
Greg Miller
Horamura Hime is. And I'm putting too much H on the heme. I know.
Roger Pokorny
Yeah.
Greg Miller
Oh, serious. Homor Hime is an anime style 3D action game merging exhilarating thrills with the tension filmed gameplay of Bullet Hell. Players dodge hails of projectiles, unleash combos that blend close quarters and ranged attacks, and utilize dodges and parries to withstand the fierce onslaught of demons. Interesting.
Mike
Yeah.
Greg Miller
And so is this out today then? Is this the one?
Roger Pokorny
No, I think it's a 2026.
Greg Miller
It said 2026 there, but then people were like, oh, okay. I think I'm just confused. Okay, great, great. Well, yeah, okay, great. But if it's. Why did we talk about it in the games coming out in March if it isn't. Is it this month? Is it more?
Roger Pokorny
Maybe it's on PC only.
Greg Miller
Ah, okay. Fair, fair, fair, fair, fair. Fair play. Fair play. I like that one a lot. Okay. Some cool stuff there. I got to figure out about Japanese rural life adventure.
Roger Pokorny
Yeah, I saw someone in chat saying it's on Apple Arcade. I don't know if they're talking about something else, but Japanese roller switch might be something to look into.
Greg Miller
Greg. Maybe I will.
Roger Pokorny
Gregory.
Greg Miller
Oh, looks like it's on. It came up on Steam a month ago. Huh huh? Huh. Okay, here we go. I'm opening up the Steam page. Japanese Rural Life Adventure is in Japanese there as well, so I don't know if that's translated, but it's out over there. We can look into it. We'll get back to you on that one. Instead, jump in to the actual one we watched. Okay. And go through your English version of the Nintendo Indie world showcase for March 3, 2026, complete with YouTube super chats. Like I said, I want your review scores. I want what you liked, what you didn't like. We of course started with Dench Attack. Yeah, this is the trade one. We've talked a lot about this. We've seen a lot about this. It's gotten some, you know, for me and Mike, being big skate fans, I love Grinding Rain. One week away from the season three, the Last Ride. They opened the show with this one, put it out on June 17th and of course there is a demo available today. Michael reactions.
Mike
Yeah, this one made me smile. Greg. This one had a demo during Steam Next Fest. Of course, the demo is out now on Switch 2, which is cool. And it's one of those of like I came in with a big old zero and I quickly started smirking and smiling. Seeing this, it looks like a ton of fun. I'm sure it plays like a ton of fun. So yeah, I'm going to. I have to jump on this. I'm going to have to give this a try.
Roger Pokorny
Yeah, I've been avoiding the demo because it's only been on Steam. So now that it's on Switch, this is exactly what I'm going to try it out on. I hope it plays as fun as it looks.
Greg Miller
Dench Attack from publisher Fireshine Games and developer Undercoders challenges players to become the greatest train driver in Japan by competing in over the top battles. Push the limits on what a train can do in 50 plus vibrant stages across all of Japan. Facing off against a colorful cast of rivals in diverse missions. All set to a soundtrack that matches the controlled chaos of a train doing a kickflip. You pointed out how good the sound was. Music was when you're playing it there. I like that a lot.
Roger Pokorny
Yeah, there's. There's been like a. A slew of video games for me at least recently that are like all style, very little substance for me, like, it's just like, it looks beautiful but it's like, man, I don't want to play this for more than a few minutes. I really want this to feel like Thrasher I want it to, to be like, oh, I'm addicted to playing this game on top of looking at it.
Greg Miller
Sure. Set some high scores and get out of there.
Roger Pokorny
Yeah.
Greg Miller
Of course it launches. PC, PlayStation, Xbox. And of course announced today, Switch 2. Yes, there is a Switch to and Steam demo available right now as we hurdle towards that June 17th release date. Looks dope.
Roger Pokorny
Hell yeah.
Greg Miller
Really, really good style and a good opener.
Roger Pokorny
Great opener.
Greg Miller
Let's go to what is this a good second game to show my little puppy, everybody. When I. When we started going, I immediately went, oh, this game. Oh, my little puppy, of course, well known me as a man who lost his dog. And when you say, hey, I have a game about grieving your dog, I go, yeah, let's jump in there. One day in doggy heaven, a Welsh corgi named Bongu catches a whiff of his human dad in the afterlife. Sniff, bark, run and jump. As you embark on a touching narrative adventure as Bongu to reunite with his dearly departed dad in the story of relationships, farewells and reunions, my little puppy bounds its way on Nintendo Switch digitally May 29 with a physical version with a cute and goofy. Wait. With a physical version available in June, the Nintendo Switch version features costume customizations for Bongu. Dress him up with cute and goofy dog costumes to take his charm to the next level. I bought this when I heard about it on Steam. I still have yet to play it because my Steam backlog is just like anybody else's Steam backlog. I'm excited to get to it and I wonder if this will be where I get to it, if it's going to be one of those games where it keeps gestating and I eventually get there for it.
Roger Pokorny
I didn't expect to be like, monsters in this. Like, I didn't expect him, like, the dog have to, like, what did you
Mike
think Bongo was gonna do?
Roger Pokorny
I thought they were just gonna walk around, be like, like, yeah, I'm in heaven, like, what's up? Like, and then like, find their thing. But no, I didn't expect that. So I'm kind of interested in like, what the action side of it is. It's pretty neat.
Greg Miller
Yeah, of course. I mean, you know, you think, you know, it's gonna be peaceful in the afterlife. You know, you haven't played a God, we're going to war. You don't know what's going on over there. You know, from there we went to heave ho2. Mike popped off.
Mike
Yeah, I mean, this is one of those fun party mode games that you and your friends can jump into and just have a ride of a night, laughing, working together. It's a really good game. Really good game.
Greg Miller
Popping off for the audio listeners who can't see it swing into action, reach out and offer your friends a helping hand or lose your grip and send them tumbling to a deadly void below. In this fiendish online and local multiplayer game for up to four players. Grab your pals and play couch co op together. Or play locally and online with Game Share. Explore new gameplay twists from weightless space to cookery chaos and much more across eight themed worlds. Heave ho. 2 launches on the Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch this summer. Love the art style. Yeah, you know, I mean, again, I don't. Mike, tell me. I don't think. Look at this and go, friend slop. This is. Somebody tried really hard to make this.
Mike
Yeah, I mean, this came out before we started using the term friend slap. So, like, everyone out there on the Internet will just call any game that is multiplayer friend slap nowadays. But yes, this was before the friend slap era and I will consider it still before friend slop. There.
Greg Miller
Okay. Yeah, Looks like a lot of fun.
Roger Pokorny
This is why we're all lonely as like a world, you know what I mean? It's like you want to hang out with your friends and then you call it slop. What are we doing? What? People are just trying to connect with each other online. Have fun, hang out.
Mike
The problem is games, Roger, that come out at that sweet, perfect price point of $6 to $20 maximum. And you get your friend Roger to play one night of Repo with you and they're like, all right, that was great. I had a ton of fun. I'll never play this again. Roger.
Roger Pokorny
That's okay. Hanging out, it's like going to watch a movie with your friend. It's whatever. Look at this trailer. I just, I'm dreading it because I know what's going to happen. You know what's going to happen, Mike? Is that we're all going to play this together. Fucking Roger. Oh, he let go. And then we're going to make fun of Nick.
Mike
It's going to be a great time
Roger Pokorny
and it's going to have a great time.
Mike
It's mount your friends with up to four little gumball looking guys. It's a blast. It's going to be a really good time.
Roger Pokorny
Yeah.
Greg Miller
From there we went to one of my favorite, most anticipated. Whatever you want to say. Moonlighter 2, Moonlighter 2 the Endless Vault. Of course, I loved Moonlighter 1. Moonlighter 2 launched in early access on PC last year. Andy and me did a review of it. Andy having put a lot of hours into it. Me very top level. Andy positive on it. Your description reads, live the double life of a fearless adventure and craft merchant dive into vibrant dimensions brimming with shiny loot and pesky enemies. Each run becomes a tactical puzzle of how much loot you can carry back and how far you dare to explore. After each escapade, put your hard earned treasure on sale, set your prices, grow your shop. Entice returning customers to make your mark among a ragtag community of castaways. Moonlighter 2 Endless Vault the Endless Vault launches on Switch 2 later this year. Worth noting, I have a press release on top of the Nintendo one. This reads everything we just said. Saying this though, it's heading to Nintendo Switch 2, joining its previously announced 1.0 launch later this year on PC. Xbox Series X and S with day one Game Pass availability and PlayStation 5. So we are hurtling towards 1.0, which gets me incredibly excited to dive into the quote unquote full game, even though I know I'm just an old head about that. For me, early access, I still go and everybody else like no, it's the game. And I'm like die. I want it to be done. And then I missed the thing.
Mike
It's a delicate dance. It depends on the game and the style that you're playing. Yeah, survival crafting games for me is tough on the early access because you know that's a long road ahead. You see a game like this and it's like Andy putting a bunch of hours, meaning you're going to get a good time out of it, you know.
Greg Miller
Yeah. Excited for that one. I've highly recommend it. You guys are acting like you didn't know what it was. Moonlighter 1 is fantastic. Different art style. Okay, there's been a step up for this one, but Moonlighter 1, a great indie that's available everywhere as well. You should definitely pick up Moonlighter one if you're itching for that right now.
Mike
Cool.
Greg Miller
From there we jumped to woodo. Welcome to Woodo, a cozy puzzle game where you assemble wooden scenes piece by piece, like a 3D coloring book. Place objects in their correct spots and watch each scene slowly fill with color and life, revealing charming animations and small surprises through handcrafted dioramas. Play at your own pace while the narrator's voice keeps you company as you settle into a world that comes together one piece at a time. The Nintendo Switch 2 version also supports Joy Con 2 mouse controls for smooth gameplay. Woodo slots on the Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch this summer. This one I had never heard of. This one looks awesome. What a great art style. We were watching. I was like, wait, this is the gameplay? Not a choice.
Roger Pokorny
Yeah, it's gorgeous. I do. I look at this and I'm like, oh, I don't think this is for me. This feels like a. Oh, my children are. Yeah, exactly like, hey, this is my kid's first game.
Mike
I' put them in the back of the car as we take a drive out to Big Bear, and they're going to love this game.
Roger Pokorny
I just love how your brain starts, like, creating these fantasies, the whole narrative,
Mike
you know, about Susie and Mike jr. Oh, yeah, Yeah.
Roger Pokorny
I apologize.
Mike
They're excited for this.
Roger Pokorny
I just haven't seen them a while. Yeah, okay.
Mike
Yeah. Private school.
Roger Pokorny
Okay.
Greg Miller
See, I think, like, for me, that looks too involved right now for. I guess that's not true. Ben plays so many complicated games. I just feel like Ben wants action.
Mike
Yes.
Greg Miller
Ben wants the car racing. Ben wants the skating. Ben wants the Mario. Ben wants the Pokemon.
Mike
This is a coloring book come to life. Yeah, that's what it is.
Greg Miller
I'll be interested. I've seen it more as, like, just take a breath at the end of your gaming night, go in there and make a diorama.
Roger Pokorny
I mean, it kind of feels like simpler than a. Yeah, a coloring book. Right? Like, at least a coloring book is like, you have to draw within the lines. Like, this is like, hey, just match the shape, I guess.
Greg Miller
You know, Ben loves a good hidden object page in a highlight magazine. Or in, in, and out.
Roger Pokorny
Maybe I'm just not. Maybe it's like, once it gets super complicated, it levels up.
Greg Miller
But.
Roger Pokorny
But, yeah, I'm just not seeing.
Greg Miller
Well, you know, coloring book, especially for boomers, coloring book apps and stuff are really big. So, I mean, I think that's just what we're doing here. Right? Just go ahead and merge this together.
Mike
They still make Where's Waldo games.
Greg Miller
They still make Where's Waldo everything.
Mike
Yeah. They should bring. Why doesn't he have a game?
Greg Miller
I don't know Where's Waldo where yet.
Roger Pokorny
Give him the gritty reboot.
Mike
Where's Waldo? Murder mysteries unsolved.
Greg Miller
He's in the Tenderloin. He's on a drug binge. Find him. Widow, of course, is also coming to PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X when it launches this summer. I'm coughing at inopportune times, I feel like. Because it's fine. And then I just get it in when I'm about to tell you something. Then we went to our first shadow drop of the day. Mini Shoot Adventures. This one immediately stole our heart, I think out there. Am I right everybody?
Mike
Yeah. Heck yeah.
Greg Miller
This one was one. I was like, damn, I didn't see this coming. Looks like a Zelda one. The official description from Nintendo reads, fly into a frantic handcrafted world with crystal crisp twin stick Shoot em up action. In this modern twist on the classic 8 bit adventure formula, fight your way from the shiny overworld to the deepest cave.
Mike
Get it out. Let the demon out.
Greg Miller
You gotta say something.
Mike
I mean this game is all over. I can't wait to play this game. Like you said, a Zelda like meets Shoot em Up. Like the art style, the color, the look. I'm so excited to duck, dodge and dip. Like there's something about the Shoot em Up genre with this Bullet hell that I just love.
Roger Pokorny
My thing with the Bullet hell stuff is that it becomes, at least in the modern ish era, it's done a lot of like 8 bit, 32 bit like type, 16 bit rather type deals. And it like it hurts my eyes. I love this art style. I love how crisp it is. You can see the edges. It feels. There's this game that was published. I know Papa Gender worked on it. It was a 2D. It was like a phone game and whatever. It had a similar art style. I love this art style. I love how simple it is.
Greg Miller
Okay.
Roger Pokorny
It'll come to me eventually.
Mike
I like finding that flow state in these games where you start seeing the Matrix in your dodge and everything and you just get that. What was that? Sector.
Roger Pokorny
That's one should have been here.
Mike
There's stuff right here is right.
Roger Pokorny
Yeah, but I do like that it's bigger than sector, right? It's. It's like, hey, this is a Zelda. Like you're running around like you're building. You know, it's not just hey, it's stages.
Greg Miller
Chastain's five hours. So short and sweet.
Roger Pokorny
Oh, easy.
Greg Miller
Improve your ship and overcome dungeon grindstone in intense. Ah, yes. Great call. Bullet filled battle for the art styles.
Roger Pokorny
Exactly.
Greg Miller
I was thinking gameplay. I was like.
Roger Pokorny
I remember there being a street art style specifically.
Greg Miller
And rescue your friends. Explore lush caverns, ancient temples and sunken cities where each environment is full of treasures, challenges and secrets. Mini Shoot Adventures flies on a Switch and Switch 2 later today.
Roger Pokorny
Yeah, I'm playing this tonight. I'm very excited.
Mike
Yeah, we're gonna play this.
Greg Miller
Of course. Beyond that, I have a Press release Mini Shoot Adventures is out now on Nintendo 1 2, PlayStation 5 and Xbox consoles. I'm looking to see the clarification. Someone in the chat chat did say game pass on Xbox.
Mike
Okay.
Greg Miller
But I'm not seeing that in the press release as I quickly scroll through it. Not that I don't believe you. Oh, here I can click on this. Go there. I'm going Xbox right now everybody. Loading page. Oh, I'm signed out of my account.
Mike
Great job Xbox.
Greg Miller
Always helpful Xbox. Thank you. But it is game pass. Game pass.
Roger Pokorny
Hell yeah. But it is cool that this is like was a bait was a Darling in 2024. I saw that like rise to the the people that knew they knew that was like their.
Mike
You knew about this?
Roger Pokorny
Yeah, this was like at the top of some people's games of the year. Like this was a super chat from
Greg Miller
Kyle says Mini Shoot Adventures with was Kit Ellis's game of the year in 2024 and he recommended to me highly as a Steam deck game. It's a perfect game for handheld.
Roger Pokorny
Exactly. So I was waiting for it. I was like oh, any day now, 2025. I was like oh. In the back of my head I was like this is going to come to Switch. Took them a while, but I'm glad that it's here.
Greg Miller
I'm all about this. I will be playing this. That looks awesome. Obviously being Zelda inspired is pretty rad. They even call it out in their press release, which you don't always see. Mini Shoot Adventures takes the straightforward frantic joy in game feel of Shoot em Up and combines them with the exciting feeling of going on an adventure like in the first Legend of Zelda. Fly into a charming handcrafted world and live an adventure that mixes up open exploration with crispy twin stick shooter action.
Roger Pokorny
Crispy.
Greg Miller
I like that a lot.
Roger Pokorny
Love it.
Greg Miller

Roger Pokorny
Nash.
Greg Miller
Nah. Nah. Oh, whoa, Roger. How's the caffeine cutback going? Smiley emoji.
Roger Pokorny
I do one cup a day now. Okay, so that's. That's where I'm at. I would usually go like one cup a day plus Diet coke, plus maybe, you know, a little bit of 5 energy. But I'm trying to this week be like, hey, one cup a day. That's it.
Greg Miller
Is it working? You feeling good?
Roger Pokorny
Yeah. Feeling good. Yeah. Eventually I'm gonna just not do this again. Or I'll bring in decaf, like K cups. That mean my next thing just have a bunch of decaf cakes at my desk.
Greg Miller
That's fine.
Roger Pokorny
Put them in my car.
Greg Miller
Nickels are going through.
Roger Pokorny
Yeah.
Greg Miller
Space A Gelmon writes in and says Mike did nothing wrong. Hashtag Greg sucks Hashtag justice for Mike. That's not true. And that's a reference to the buzz. I hope you all watched. We'll move on. Continue to give me your reviews. Games that we haven't talked about that you want to talk about. All that other jazz. Because we're going to continue rolling through this game by game. Of course. This is us going through all the announcements of the Nintendo Indie World Direct. After the Shadow Drop of Mini Shoot Adventures, we got Midnight Walk coming to Switch. From the makers of Lost in Random and Fae comes the award winning dark fantasy adventure built entirely in real life clay and animated in stop motion style. Become the burnt one, befriend a lost lantern creature named Potboy and use his flame to light your way through a handcrafted world of wonder and horror. The Midnight Walk launches on Nintendo Switch 2 March 26th.
Roger Pokorny
Did y' all ever try this one? No, no, I booted it up on VR. I think PSVR too. I think I borrowed it from here. I was like, man, I really want to get into this and I'm just not a VR person. So I just stopped it everywhere. Yeah, exactly. I almost hit my cat because my fucking apartment's so small. This game is beautiful. It's gorgeous. So I'm happy that it's coming to Switch 2. And I'm happy that like out of all the Switch 2 ports that we've seen, like this looks very impressive. Like it doesn't look super blurry. It doesn't look like a lesser than version necessarily than the other one. So shout out to that team for making that work on the Switch 2.
Greg Miller
Shout out to that team indeed. But let's get to, I think one of the other standouts.
Mike
Game of the Show.
Greg Miller
Of the show. Game of the show says Mikey Rotwood, a side scroller brawler from of course KLEI Entertainment. The Don't Starve devs it goes. Choose your weapon, master a diverse combat system and refine your builds in this stylish side scrolling co op action brawler from Klei Entertainment, the studio behind Don't Starve. Battle corrupted beasts through dangerous forest arenas and play solo or with up to three friends locally or online.
Mike
Okay, you hear that?
Greg Miller
Locally progress comes from increasing your skill as much as your loot with challenging boss fights that determine demand, practice and proficiency. Rotwood hacks on and hacks and slashes on a Switch 2 as a console exclusive later today. Now hold on. It says locally or online, but it's doing the thing where it puts the little annotation. So it says online number One. So I'm going to scroll down number one. Additional accessories may be required for multiplayer mode sold separately. I'm thinking it might be game share locally. Game share. I don't know if you can all just jump into the same thing. But all that aside, this looks fucking rad.
Roger Pokorny
Yeah.
Mike
Yeah. I mean a sweet development team over there, right. The team that made Don't Starve. That's an iconic game. A game that I fell in love with and love. We are coming hot off of Absolum. Right. The four player party mode games with your friends are like so hot right now. And I always love a good castle crashers like right then like I am always in the mood for something if it can be good. And this one's kind of got the art style I'm into. Absolutely. I wasn't like, like, oh, I'm in love with. I gotta do this. This one. I got more cartoony, fun vibes I like.
Roger Pokorny
Yeah, I mean it's gorgeous. I think it's really kind of wild that this is a Shadow Drop. Like we didn't hear about this game before, right? We never knew about this.
Greg Miller
I haven't heard about it.
Roger Pokorny
Yeah, yeah. Like let me know, Chad. Because it's kind of wild that they're like, hey, the team behind one of the biggest, biggest games in the recent years, Shadow Drop right now. And it's exclusive. That's a wild one to have in an indie world. But you know, shout out to them for trying to make indie world a bigger deal. Right. Like something that you can look forward to. Not only indies and ports but also, you know, full on exclusives that are dropped right there. So really, really dope stuff. I don't know if this is necessarily for me, but I like looking at it. It's very, very pretty.
Mike
I mean this is one of those like, okay, drop what we're doing today. Let's play this game like early access.
Roger Pokorny
Okay. They don't show new. Okay. So this, this was in early access for a while.
Greg Miller
Okay. About them again as we. I go through right now on the Nintendo Eshop it says number of players single system one to four. And then game share has its own line online local. So theoretically we just need one copy of the game and we could be in business and we'll figure that out and see what we want to do.
Mike
I hope they let us play with just one Joy Con.
Greg Miller
Yeah, it'd be fun.
Mike
You know they had all the commercials about that but like how often do you actually play with just one?
Greg Miller
You need to get a kid and you play with it a lot. You do that way a lot of Mario Kart that way. Smacks that way. He's at the kitchen table, he's a copy. Pops him off.
Mike
Susie and Mike Jr. All have pro control.
Greg Miller
They're just smoking.
Roger Pokorny
You're really spoiler kids. Yeah, that's really nice.
Mike
I take him to the top.
Greg Miller
I'm looking forward to playing Rotwood. I'm also looking forward to playing Mixtape. Mixtape is coming to everything, of course, but this time around we have a release date for a game that has been highly anticipated from Kinda funny. This is coming out on May 7th. From Beethoven and Dinosaur. From the developers of BAFTA award winning the artful Escape Mixtape unfolds in a narrative driven adventure of three friends exploring the greatest hits of their teenage experience. From the first kiss to the last dance. Inspired by classic coming of age movies and featuring eclectic gameplay and a varied soundtrack of popular music from artists including Devo, the Smashing Pumpkins and more. Mixtape spins up a Nintendo Switch May 7th. I cannot fucking wait. This game blew me away at Summer Game Fest last year. I scooped it up on Fantasy Critic and then of course never came out and never did it. But here we are. We finally have a date. We're finally excited. Of course it is also coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S PC and the Steam Epic Game Store. And it is on game pass. So lots of ways to play it. And again, as somebody who has played it before, looking at the Switch 2 footage, do not play it on Switch 2. Yeah, it looks way crisper on everything else, but I can't wait.
Roger Pokorny
Yeah, they have a few months. Maybe they can sharpen it up a little bit. But you look at that, it's. It's not a great showing. But I don't want to see more of this game. I know this trailer seems like it's all older stuff, right? It's like the remake of an older trailer. I don't want to see any more of this game. I want it right now. It's going to scratch that itch of, you know, life is strange like type deal. Even though we are getting one this month.
Greg Miller
But.
Roger Pokorny
But I don't count that.
Greg Miller
You don't count that you're playing I'm a hater. You're eat your words on that one too. You're going to eat your words on that one.
Roger Pokorny
Okay, well let's clip.
Greg Miller
As a matter I also didn't like it. So I was like, wow, do we have to go back to Chloe? But I'm like yeah, I'm excited to go back and eat this. I gotta go do this. I gotta be a part of this. After mixtape we jumped into Blighted from friend of the show Drinkbox Studios of course. Guacamelee Severed, et cetera. Battle through a deadly psychedelic western nightmare to reclaim the memories of your people in this exploration driven action RPG from the creators of Guacamelee and Nobody Saves the World. The evil Sorcisco we're going to say Cisco has consumed your village and infected the world with a deadly blight. As the lone survivor of this rampage, you must fight through the surreal hostile environment to defeat powerful bosses and recover the memories of your people before your own blight overtakes you. Play solo or with a friend via local or online multiplayer as you uncover the mysteries of the twisted world. Blight creeps. On Nintendo Switch 2 this fall another one I played at SGF. Great art style. I'm not the souls guy obviously. It was a very early demo. I had fun with it. I don't know if I would commit to it for the whole way through but just because of gaming taste, not so much about it.
Mike
I mean this team has the sauce when it comes to style and just the look of a game and I'm very excited about that. Like you said Greg, am I in the mood for a top down souls like experience right this moment? No. But I could be into it because I do love a good souls like I love a good Perry. I love a good dodge roll. I love an intimidating boss. They gotta learn their patterns on. You see the block and the Perry going on over there and it looks cool. Yeah, I'd give it a try.
Roger Pokorny
This get this does nothing to me sadly.
Greg Miller
I just want to give you a little bit more. I'm jumping in. As you know we have the Nintendo press release with the blurbs. Then I also get press releases usually from pr. I have one here from Pop Agenda of course my wife's company so. So take my opinion on anything with a grain of salt. Even though I just said I don't know if I would play it all the way there they describe Blighted. Blighted is a Metroidvania action RPG where players are either alone or co op. Harnessing Blight by defeating enemies will change the world around you. Modifying combat encounters, unlocking hidden paths and more. Award winning composer Jim Guthrie Sword and Sorcery below. Nobody Saves the World is also back as the composer on the game, lending his skills to create an eerie feel for this devastated world. It is also Launching on PC at the same time as a console exclusive to Switch.
Roger Pokorny
Yeah, I don't know. Something about the art style, maybe. It is just. I'm so overdone with this genre. All those things we've. We've said and alluded to, we've done so much in the last few years. I. I love Drink Box at Guacamelee. And I know I don't want to, you know, take this team and say, hey, you got to only make Guacamelee, right? But that's. That's where I fell in love with y'. All. And then like every. Every single thing since has just not really hit as hard. So I look at this and I wanted to be excited, but I just leave being like, oh, man, I wish. Wish we saw another Guacamole.
Greg Miller
Okay, well, I hope Andy likes it.
Roger Pokorny
I hope so too.
Greg Miller
We went from that to Dead Zone Rogue. Step into a forsaken space station in this fast paced roguelike shooter where every run is a heated fight for survival solo or with friends online. Battle through shifting procedurally generated corridors overrun with biomechanical creatures. Scavenge and combine experimental weaponry to grow stronger and evolve with every encounter. Harness powerful gear, wield the elements in high intensity combat, and push deeper into the station's heart to uncover secrets. Plus, use Joy Con 2 mouse controls for smooth loot and shoot action. Oh, I see. For smooth shoot and loot action. Fight, revive, adapt and carve your own path through the void. Can you survive long enough to conquer the Dead Zone? Dead Zone Rogue emerges from the void on Nintendo Switch 2 system March 17. Didn't do anything for me. Not shocking as I'm not the first person shooter guy or whatever, but I also just kind of felt it looked bland. I mean, I know we're talking about indies. When they started up, I was like, oh, you're doing a more realistic. Whatever you want to call it, take on this. What was your take, Mike?
Mike
Yeah, Greg. I mean, I think Roger said so. Well, there's just a lot going on on the screen and it seems it looks very indie, right? It gives. Very indie. It looks like a fun idea with the roguelike runs and all the different permutations that you'll have on that ride. But when it comes to first person shooter, it always will come down to how does it feel when you play? Is the shooting tight? Is the movement fun? Are the boss fights and the encounters a good and enjoyable time? People are. People want a good co op shooter adventure, right? Like we've seen that with Helldivers we've seen that with Left 4 Dead. People like these experiences. It's all about how do you capture and make it fun and like the indie look of this. I don't know if that does it, but if it's fun and it plays well, then you have something else on your hands. I don't know though.
Roger Pokorny
Yeah, just as I mentioned, a lot of icons. You look at this and it's like, I want to play this game to understand if it's good like this. This is one of those. You can't show me. You can't just be like, here's a cool trailer. Like, no, like this. I. You would need to have a bunch of friends playing it together to understand if this is going to be good.
Greg Miller
Right.
Roger Pokorny
You can't. This does not show off well. But March 17, so right around the corner.
Greg Miller
Well, it doesn't show off that well. And I will tell you, it is apparently already out. Oh, PC and PS5. I have silver Jay Hawkins that says in a super chat, love Dead Zone Rogue and recommend it to everyone since it's early access on PC and PS5. Kevin, I'm going to ask you if you can to get a dead zone rogue PC or PS5 trailer because on the Steam page it looks like a completely different fucking game where I'm like, oh yeah, that looks great. That looks awesome. I'm looking on the Steam page. I can send you that, Kevin, if you want. Dead Zone Rogue. Oh, sorry, we're into that. Recent reviews very positive. English. English reviews very positive. So August 11, 2025 is what it's putting here. And it looks way fast, way fluid, way more detailed on Steam. Okay, so once again in the same vein as don't probably play mixtape on Switch, probably don't play Dead Zone Rogue on there. As I looked at that and was like, how cute. Oh, wow. How cute that.
Roger Pokorny
Look at this.
Greg Miller
Like, oh, this is a real game. It's a real first person shoot.
Roger Pokorny
This isn't just so much faster.
Greg Miller
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Mike
Okay. Feels the movie shift.
Roger Pokorny
Feels like the same trailer we saw, but like double speed.
Greg Miller
Double speed. It's like. It's like the Toby Maguire meme of Spider man right where he's like this.
Roger Pokorny
Oh, wow. Yeah. Oh my gosh. So much more particles.
Mike
Okay, yeah, okay. Much better. Much better showing here. That's right. Much better showing Dead Zone Rogue.
Greg Miller
I wasn't familiar with you and I take back some of the things I said. I apologize for Greg, but I now I'm not looking at it going like, oh, I'm like, no, this is a real game. A very competent video game that you should probably be playing on PC or apparently PlayStation 5. So go get that one from there. We then had a little quick one. Right. Of montage stuff. Grave Seasons popped up there to say, it's coming out this summer. Establish your farming. Sorry. Establish your new farming life and embed yourself an idyllic town with some seriously unsettling vibes. Your peaceful life is put at risk when you discover someone in town as a supernatural serial killer. Grave Seasons launches on Nintendo Switch to Summer.
Sponsor Voice 2
Summer.
Mike
Roger's gonna eat his words on this. No, Roger's gonna eat his words on this game. Yeah, I want Fields of Mystery. I don't want to play any other game. Roger's gonna play this and get lost in the mystery.
Greg Miller
Yeah.
Mike
He's gonna solve this murder, and he's gonna love this game.
Greg Miller
Well, see?
Roger Pokorny
Okay, so you're solving the murder.
Greg Miller
Okay, well, I played this at sgf. This is Blumhouse, of course. They are making all the horror games and doing cool with it. It was the idea that you are. You escape jail, you take over this thing. So, like, there's this whole thing of, like, you have to hide your true personality from it. I think there's a werewol, some kind of monster out there killing. I was like, damn, I respect Stardew. I respect Fields of. I've tried. They just don't click for me, where I was like, oh, tossing in the horror game element of it and that story thread. I think I could get into this one. Yeah.
Roger Pokorny
Okay. I, I. If you're solving it, I could be a little bit more.
Greg Miller
I think you're deducing. I don't know if I don't know. You're, like.
Roger Pokorny
It seemed like there was, like, the thing of, like, here's all the people, and then you can cross off if they've done well.
Greg Miller
I think that's the people getting killed by the monster.
Roger Pokorny
Oh, okay, okay, okay. All right. I'm 50. 50 on it. I, I don't want a subversion. I just want the game. You know what I mean? Like, I want the Stardes. I want the Fields of Myst. Fair enough, but it's cool.
Greg Miller
Unrail2 back on track was next. The chaotic co op railroad builder returns, bigger and wilder than ever. Work through, work together. Sorry. Online multiplayer to gather resources, craft tracks, and guide. Mike, you pop for this one?
Mike
Yeah. I mean, we did a party mode just a couple weeks ago of unrailed one on the switch. Right. I'm someone that this is a Gary Whitta recommendation. And Gary Whitta absolute banger right here. If you're looking for a fun game with family, friends, a little party mode type game. Unreal 2 was on PC with early access and onward. And so it's awesome to see it come to Switch two because it was one of those when I was telling Rogers like I want to play Unrail 2 and it was like, oh, it's only unrailed one, which is still a great game. But Unreal 2 is that much better and so much more fun. So awesome to see this coming out out from there.
Greg Miller
We rolled into Toem 2. Set off on a new photo adventure spurred by your awakened passion for discovering and photographing. Photographing mysterious events known as toems. Jump and climb across new regions, lend a hand to new faces and create lasting friendships all along the way. It launches on Switch this summer. Of course, I adored TOEM Number one. Another game Papa Jinda did represent and that Portillo was in. But all that aside, I thought it was great. So I'm super stoked for another one one. And I'm glad we're this close. I wasn't sure when we'd actually get it. Summer 2026, not far off at all.
Roger Pokorny
It's like a Pokemon Snap type deal. What are you doing in this?
Greg Miller
A little bit you're given like more puzzly stuff to do with it. Helping people, unlocking things, helping them out of their jams or whatever. But yeah, Kevin rolled it into there of course, because he's. This is Kevin. You did a great job. Of course. This is just a very quick montage. We're giving the games more time than Nintendo did in Kobini one store Many stores step into the quiet glow of a late night Kobini. That's a convenience store set in 1990s town. Inspired by Japan and discover the hidden joy in daily routines. Stock shelves, explore the colorful neighborhood and meet charming customers with stories of their own that you can help shape in Konbini One Store, Many Stories launches on Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch April 30th again, played this at GDC. I want to say two years ago.
Mike
Yes.
Greg Miller
Loved what I played and was like, damn. And I was very much of like will we ever. They were making it sound like this game was really far away. And I know two years ain't nothing to fuck with, but like I'm shocked that it's here. I'm so excited that it's here.
Roger Pokorny
How much of this is like the stories you're shaping or is it like. Because I just want to, you know, go in there and do the simulator aspect of it.
Mike
I don't know. There's a lot of simulator, but there's heart to this simulator.
Roger Pokorny
Okay.
Mike
There's a soft story of community and tales going on. Right. Like when I think of community or when I think of simulator games, I'm going to use the word little slop. Okay. Very basic to the bare bones. We're just going to get this game out. We're going to add as we go. This is not that this is very much. If we thought about the core. Yes, you're going to be in the income or the convenience store, you're going to be stocking shelves, you're going to be making those purchase or selling that stuff at the cash register. But like there's a story going on. There is some community building bill.
Greg Miller
Yeah, hard to say. I mean based off the demo I did or whatever, but it wasn't like run outside and do this thing and chase. It was like turn the sandwiches, put the thing out there. He's looking for this kind of thing. Stock the shelf.
Roger Pokorny
Gotcha.
Greg Miller
That felt good. I liked that. Okay, from there we went to Outbound. Turn an empty camper van into the home of your dreams in this cozy off the grid exploration game. Play solo or online multiplayer that supports up to four players and craft workstations. Gather energy from natural sources, Upgrade and customize your vehicle, grow crops and explore a colorful world. Outbound roles on Nintendo Switch 2 and Switch 1 April 23rd. There is a free demo today. Okay, is this simulating for you?
Mike
I got a couple other simulators that are high on my list right now, but I'll keep this one in my back pocket just in case.
Greg Miller
Fair enough. Fair enough. I'm looking at their official press release and of course is PlayStation 5 and Xbox. It has over 1.2 million wishlists on Steam, so damn very good for them. They're looking forward to this one quite a bit. From there. Rataton, of course you know it well from Greg Miller. Talking about the spiritual successor to Patapon again, early access on PC. Already played the shit out of it on a flight back from the east coast once. So I did like six hours of it. Loved it. But it was like, I'm gonna wait for updates. They had a big update in December. I didn't go back to it because of X, Y and Z, but a full release I'm excited about rataton command. Over 100 unique characters in this rhythm rogue like action. Game that blends musical tim side scrolling combat play solo or in local and online multiplayer for up to four players. Ride the rhythm. When Rataton launches on Nintendo Switch to July 16th. I am stoked. I'm going to see if I got a full press release. Is there anything else in there I need to know? Because if you got ratchet news I need to know. Here we are. Yeah. It will launch PlayStation 5 Xbox Series X Switch to July 16 worldwide. Blah blah blah blah blah. We know Pat upon. Okay.
Roger Pokorny
Casey in the chat says I'm in the Rataton Kickstarter. Some news that got shared today. Switch one version can't canceled. Oh so good. Shoe exclusive.
Greg Miller
Good. Don't hold us back.
Roger Pokorny
It sucks.
Greg Miller
I know you want it but you don't hold us back. Everybody all right.
Roger Pokorny
We gotta go is what it is.
Greg Miller
We gotta do the goddamn thing and then your one more thing. Everybody. Blueprints comes to the Nintendo Switch today. Switch to today. Welcome to Mount Holly. A peculiar manor with ever changing rooms. This genre bending dice award winning game is filled with mystery, strategy and puzzles that weave together with every room explored. Plus smoothly navigate about Holly with Joy Con two mouse controls Unravel the truth day by day. Step by step in room by room. Make every step count when blueprint launches. Blueprints launch is Nintendo Switch today. Kevin, take it away.
Kevin
Can't wait. Give me more access. Give me something I can do. Remote. That doesn't mean like I have to connect to my wi fi. I'm so stoked. I'm gonna play this. I'm gonna put a bunch more hours in.
Mike
He was doing a lot.
Greg Miller
He was doing portals. He was playing a lot of portals.
Roger Pokorny
Yeah.
Kevin
I mean it's.
Greg Miller
It's.
Roger Pokorny
It's a big deal.
Kevin
Like the. Just the not having to be home. Don't need wi fi. That's awesome. It's so much fun to play handheld Geld. This is where it belongs. It doesn't. It's not like exquisite. You know what I mean? Like in the sense of like it's not anything that needs crazy power. So I'm stoked.
Greg Miller
Hell yeah. And that was the direct. You guys have anything to say about blueprints?
Roger Pokorny
No.
Mike
I was gonna ask if Rogers ever jumped into it.
Roger Pokorny
I jumped in for maybe six hours. I was awful at it again. I didn't want to play my Steam deck.
Greg Miller
Yeah.
Roger Pokorny
I enjoyed it. I had a good time with it and things came up. Do you think this is the right one to end with with? Probably right. This is the out of all possible
Mike
game of the year.
Roger Pokorny
Yeah, you're right.
Mike
This is a heavy hitter.
Greg Miller
Okay. That's for what? An indie. For a Nintendo indie showcase. Yes.
Roger Pokorny
I just wonder if it's like, should we be focusing on a new game or something instead of. I guess all of these are kind of ports, so there isn't like anything brand new right there. So. Yeah, I don't know. I just wonder.
Greg Miller
Rottwood was brand new.
Roger Pokorny
When I think about it of like, hey, if we're going.
Mike
No, it's the year of early access games.
Greg Miller
The life of early access. Yeah.
Roger Pokorny
Okay. I just think about it like starting off with denture tech makes a lot of sense to me. Ending it with blueprints, like, okay, that's fine. But it's also on other consoles. Right. Like Shadow Drop, though. Shadow Drop.
Mike
Is Shadow Drops a big deal?
Roger Pokorny
You know, you're winning me over. You're winning me over. Just want to have the conversation again.
Greg Miller
I think. Don't fuck. I think, you know, again, that's what my expectation for this kind of showcase is. Yeah, I know I'm getting a lot of ports, a lot of PCs, things that. But it's like we go through this list and there's so much stuff I missed or things I've bought and I haven't played yet that I know are great. I love seeing those. Get to a new audience and find this kind of love. And again, Rotwood. Oh my God, that's amazing. Incredible. It's Ben or Alexis. None of us fucking knew.
Mike
None of us Are Rogue has been out. You know well that they might have
Greg Miller
done damage to the brand by showing up, but everybody else did great. I have a couple super chats before we get out of here and start kind of funny games Daily Loyal Freaks review goes like this. We got release dates for mixtape and in co inconvenience. So I see this as an absolute win. Good. Glad you're happy. The Lord Mando says Birthday Tax. Happy birthday.
Mike
Happy birthday.
Greg Miller
Lord Mando recently started Kazm McDonald's book recently. Recently. That's how he writes it. Recently started Kaz McDonald's book recently thanks to Greg's recommendation and I'm loving it. Any other book similar to that that you can recommend for the history of that? Of course there's a gajillion that are great. Like I just did the Animal Crossing one, so check out Boss fight books Boss Fight does books about all your favorite games from different authors. It's awesome. It's incredible. There's a great Metal Gear one from Ashley and Anthony Birch that's just hilarious as they tear the game apart because they love it. But it's like. Then you got Kelsey doing Animal Crossing and it's like a thorough history and here's all the actual information about it. It was great.
Mike
Try Guy.
Greg Miller
Try Guy. Of course. Hold on. Before I. Console wars, of course, the Sega Nintendo feud from back in the day. That's an amazing one. Yes, Jason Schreier's work is incredible. Of course, the most recent one we had done was the Blizzard one. Play nice. The Rise Fallen Future of Blizzard, which I adored. Obviously very specific. But of course there's press reset by Jason Trier, which is all about, hey, here's people getting laid off and what they're doing from here on out in video game industry. And then the other one, his first one. Oh, sorry, it's there. It's all the different games in the stories about that didn't come. I just reread it. Slash, read it through the fucking pretend. Fuck. Chat.
Mike
Chat. Get on.
Greg Miller
Blood, Sweat and Pixels. Thank you. Blood, Sweat and Pixels. Another fantastic. All of Jason's books are awesome.
Roger Pokorny
Masters of Doom. Also like the first. Fucking good. Yeah, I read that somewhat recently. Fucking incredible insane stories. Gotta read that.
Greg Miller
Peter says. Peter, Super Chat says was really hoping to hear news on Neverway or Mariachi Legends. Broken Heart. I'm not even familiar with either of those games.
Mike
Off top ahead, Andy drafted Mariachi Legends onto his Fantasy Critic game.
Roger Pokorny
Yeah. Is that a Metroidvania or is that a Bloodborne?
Mike
I don't know.
Roger Pokorny
That game looks gorgeous though. You'll get it eventually.
Greg Miller
Oh, damn. Okay. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Mariachi Legends is a brutal pixel art combat orient Metroidvania set in the heart of Mexico. Damn, that looks awesome. Okay, Sam Godfrey said no Witch Brook Pain.
Roger Pokorny
Yeah, you'll get. I feel like that's an actual proper Nintendo direct one because that game is
Greg Miller
so much hype on Jack B2, says Greg. You should check out under the island for an SNES Zelda like shout out to Slime King Games. I have it pulled up over here on my switch right now. I've seen the art before, but I've never read too much into it. A 2D action adventure, steeped in 90s charm. Step into the shoes of Nia and battle fierce monsters. Solve clever puzzles and explore a world alive with mystery. And it looks to be a young girl here with A hockey stick. And then yes, pixel art. Zelda looking graphics that look fucking really cool. Okay. And I will be checking this out. Thank you.
Mike
Put it on his list.
Greg Miller
I appreciate that. I'm putting that. I'm hitting the heart.
Mike
Craig's got so many games.
Greg Miller
I know. And I'll play, but I have to play redacted, so I won't even touch it.
Mike
He's got to play redacted.
Roger Pokorny
There was a game called Redacted.
Mike
There was a game. It was in the universe of Callisto Protocol. Callisto Protocol, bro. Yeah.
Greg Miller
Final super chat for this show comes from Aaron Lime. Hope Rataton does well for the studio. I need them to thrive after Sony shut down Japan studio. Maybe we could have had games like that on the PS5. Oh, well, yes, I agree. I love Rataton and I love Patapan. But I think again, we go back to PlayStation Sony, we need lots of profit, not little profit. These Japan studio games make little profit if that. We want big profit. Which sucks for I think the identity and personality of PlayStation but apparently is good for their bottom line. Maybe. Who cares? If you want this game, support it, buy it when it comes out.
Roger Pokorny
Did this Patapon, remember Remasters come out?
Greg Miller
Huh?
Roger Pokorny
It was Patapon, not remasters. The Bandai Namco.
Greg Miller
Yeah, they did. Yeah.
Roger Pokorny
Okay, cool.
Greg Miller
You know, an interesting choice for them. Like here's all these PSP games in Vita.
Roger Pokorny
What a fun to tell. That was like the one I missed
Greg Miller
or something too incredible. CJ Clockson says is anyone kind of funny reviewing Crimson Desert? It looks like reviewers can state they have it and are playing it. Yes, we have Crimson Desert. Desert. Several of us are playing it. You will see that review next week. It's not that I am a bargain from saying it. I'm allowed to say it.
Mike
I just don't know what it is. I think it's the day before launch. I saw on Twitter.
Greg Miller
No, next week's gdc.
Mike
Yes.
Greg Miller
Where Monday's our giant GDC stream. The week after that. Yeah.
Mike
Yes. They were. They were talking to the Crimson Desert people. They asked what's up with the review
Greg Miller
day and that everybody is the kind of funny games cast. Roger, I cut you off.
Roger Pokorny
No, I was just gonna make a joke and say it'd be great if they're baiting you to break embargo again. Again. We got his ass.
Mike
That's how you end it. Bring that energy in the dude.
Greg Miller
I want to be part of the biggest news segment ever. Yeah, I did. It's an embargo. I set I just didn't want you to do it.
Roger Pokorny
Broke embargo. Greg sucks.
Greg Miller
Everybody, everybody's been another kind of funny games cast. If you're watching live, we're about to do games daily. After that, there's going to be a kind of funny podcast without Kevin Smith because of these two chuckleheads. And then it's going to be a party mode, maybe where we play Rotwood.
Mike
Maybe we have a real strong conversation right now about that. After this.
Greg Miller
I'll download it right now. I'll pay the money. I won't even get the code.
Mike
Pay the money.
Greg Miller
I'll pay the money.
Roger Pokorny
You guys going to play this game Go non verbal. You know what I mean? Like, is that party mode? Let's be honest. Let's have a conversation right now. You guys are going to go nonverbal to see a bunch of stuff.
Mike
If we get a Diablo like Greg, you know how we get size Repo
Roger Pokorny
is going to be funnier.
Mike
We'll have a conversation, Verbal, you and I, everybody.
Greg Miller
Like, subscribe, share, pick up the membership, all that jazz. I can keep working with these idiots.
Mike
You know you love us. We love you.
Greg Miller
Maybe today's the day. You don't like, subscribe, share. You don't do the membership and I lay them off. Only founder in the building. I can do what I want. Until next time, everybody. We gotta go do kind of funny games daily. It's been our pleasure to serve you.
