What's up? And welcome back to the Kind of Funny Games cast for Tuesday, January 7, 2025. Of course, I'm your host, Tim Gettys. I'm joined today by Blessing. Adio. Yay Junior. Ah, morning, Andy Cortez.
Andy Cortez
Ah, good morning, Greg Miller.
Greg Miller
So Nintendo platinum points. They're not the same as the gold coins I can use to buy games, right? The platinum points I just used to buy little Luigi's here. What do I do with these?
Roger Py
Luigi.
Andy Cortez
This is only little points by Luigi.
Greg Miller
Like, can I change my icon to him as the Ghostbuster or no. What is this? Probably I'll spend the 10 if you try hard enough. Maybe it's a luigi's mansion to HD character for 10 points. I got it.
Roger Py
They got it. This is a big icon.
Andy Cortez
They're redeemable. Hurricane.
Greg Miller
These icons were used making at random. You can select it yourself.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
You want to show the camera behind you stalks all of us at the same time.
Greg Miller
Show your DMs. Show your DMs. You have absolutely no time. Absolutely no time for what was about to happen.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Just revealed all the porn. Why are you doing that at work? Because I can. Because they won't stop me.
Andy Cortez
I hope I didn't have anything on there.
Greg Miller
And he had his DMs open. Who knows?
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Andy had all of his DMs open.
Tim Gettys
Just was like, you see it soon.
Greg Miller
All right, sorry.
Andy Cortez
I'm glad I didn't have Slack over.
Tim Gettys
And rounded out the group today. It is the man of the hour, Roger Py. Roger, how are you feeling?
Roger Py
I'm a little nervous about this episode. This was, you know, it's supposed to be a collaborative episode. It's supposed to be, hey, here's a good idea. But then now it's going to turn into Roger sucks. You know what I mean? Roger.
Tim Gettys
I'm excited.
Andy Cortez
We made it an attack for real.
Tim Gettys
Maybe. Or maybe. Maybe he's brilliant.
Greg Miller
Maybe.
Tim Gettys
Maybe I'm cooking.
Roger Py
Maybe I'm cooking.
Andy Cortez
Maybe.
Tim Gettys
Because here's what we're doing today, everybody. Roger came to us with a rather fantastic idea for us to come up with a prediction for every month of 2025 in video games. And so we were going to do that, but then when he pitched that, he was like, hey, guys, it's a good idea. I'm putting it on the calendar. Greg and I were like, we've done this so many times. There is no way we can get a kind of funny games cast done where each one of us is giving 12 predictions that would last 10 days. Andy wouldn't do it. It'd be a whole thing. Okay.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Tomorrow.
Greg Miller
So.
Tim Gettys
So then we kind of dialed it back to, okay, let's just come up with one prediction for each month. And if we all kind of put a prediction in, we can, like, work together to come up with one list, collaborate. But then Roger, I went to go put some predictions in. I saw Roger had a prediction for every month. Prepped.
Roger Py
Yeah, I had it all prepped because over the break, I had this idea for a video it's based off of. I don't know if you guys remember this. People would do this on Twitter for the last, like, decade, where it would be like, here's my list. In the Notes app, there would be a screenshot of, like, every month. Here's like, a wild prediction. It'd be like, october, the queen dies. You know what I mean? Like, some insane shit. So let me do my type of vibe with that. No, no one dies on my list. But there's some. There's some wild ones. Not yet. Not yet, but some wild ones there. So I'm excited. I'm excited to get through it. So that was. I had it all prepped, and then I was like, I didn't get to record the video or edit it or anything. So I was like, let me just put this out to the gamescast slack. So then when Greg made that document, I put it all in there and some. Some good stuff there.
Tim Gettys
So I saw it, and I glanced at one or two of them. I'm like, oh, this is the show. Like, we look at Roger's list and talk about it because, like, it's going to be. This is going to be a lot of fun.
Greg Miller
A lot of people could take a lesson from you and stop trying to make content outside and just make it content here.
Roger Py
Exactly.
Greg Miller
And monetize it all. Yeah, Christmas jumpers for us.
Tim Gettys
You know, make all the jumpers.
Andy Cortez
Make us onesies.
Tim Gettys

Tim Gettys
We'll see.
Andy Cortez
Having a Mao freak out.
Tim Gettys
A little housekeeping for you. You already got our Last of Us season 2 trailer reactions on Games Daily. That was me bless and Greg all reacting to the trailer. The Steam after this will be an exclusive look at Freedom wars remastered. Greg, you want to talk about that? Yeah.
Greg Miller
They said, who's the biggest Freedom wars fan alive? And it was, oh, it's Greg Miller. And so they said, you know what? You can stream this game before anybody else. And I said, thank you. I will. We're do that today.
Tim Gettys
You excited?
Greg Miller
Can't wait. Yeah. It's me playing from the beginning. Mike there asking me questions about Freedom wars, all my memories of it.
Tim Gettys
Because, I mean, if it's been 10 years of kind of funny. I mean, it's been 10 years of freedom.
Greg Miller
I think it's been 11. I think that was a 2014. Yeah. Colin review that when we started that when we were still at ign.
Tim Gettys
Wow.
Andy Cortez
Wow, that was man. Oh, my gosh. I just remember being in Unity, moving, making a little shield with Zbrush, listening to Colin and Greg talk about Freedom Wars.
Greg Miller
Yeah.
Andy Cortez
Crazy.
Tim Gettys
Yeah.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
I didn't even have a vita yet.
Andy Cortez
I have an issue. Tim, hit me. God dang. Ben Starr's freaking boss in Hades is so hard.
Tim Gettys
Yeah.
Andy Cortez
I don't know what this dude is doing. He's just doing weird waves of attacks. I don't know what the. Throwing a bird at you. Like, I don't know what the this guy's doing, man.
Roger Py
Have you thought about getting. Getting good.
Greg Miller
O. Wow.
Roger Py
Have you thought about it? I think you might be lost. Maybe you're. Maybe don't ever say that.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Could you imagine, like, Andy losing it? El Ring game comes out. Andy's like, I can't get past the third boss.
Roger Py
This might be. This might be the moment where he makes a review.
Andy Cortez
Take it back, dude.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Don't ever say that's crazy.
Roger Py
I don't know. It's like Spider Man 2. Remember when he heard his back and he couldn't and he had to go to the doctor and it was like.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
He had to start dancing?
Roger Py
Yeah, exactly. No, that was three. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Andy Cortez
I'm like Mickey Rourke right now in the wrestler.
Greg Miller
Yeah.
Roger Py
Oh, I was thinking Iron man, too.
Greg Miller
We're listening to your heart.
Tim Gettys
I don't want to get. I just want to. Yes.
Greg Miller
Like Superman and Batman v Superman Ultimate Edition. He said, you are my world flew. Doomsday was so weak, but he had to do it.
Roger Py
Why do you have something for every situation?
Blessing Adioye Jr.
I do think about this often as I get older of, like, what if my. What if I can't play fighting games anymore? Like, on the level that I want to play them? Like, what if, like, I don't know, I get, like, a finger thing, A fig.
Andy Cortez
Yeah, of course.
Greg Miller
I hate Bless.
Tim Gettys
It's not your day. This game's daily Bless is really getting beat down. Raj.
Roger Py
Hi.
Tim Gettys
I only want a yes or no from this yes. And I'm going to learn a lot about you. Is Spider Man 3 your favorite of the original three Spider movies?
Andy Cortez
That is a great.
Roger Py
That's a great question. I did get in trouble in school because that was like. It was like, maybe fourth grade or third grade when that. When that movie came out. I don't know what year that K let me know in the chat, but I was like, third grade or something like that. And then I remember. I think it was Harry Osborne says, like, the word or something like that. I remember whispering it like strawberry pie. And I whispered in my friend's ear, and then, like, I thought he was cool. And then he says. He said, I'm like, bro.
Andy Cortez
What a bro.
Roger Py
Come on, come on, come on, bro. It's up. 2007 was 8.
Andy Cortez
I still never forget about three different things that Roger was talking about in succession within a span of, like, five minutes of him being like, no, this place is good. Well, it's not good, but, like, you know, I like it. And then he talked about a movie. He was like, no, no, no. The movie's, like, bad, but, like, I enjoy it. And I was like, roger, I don't know if you like anything good.
Tim Gettys
He's like, no, no, no. These.
Andy Cortez
Those bagel things that we get from there. No, no, no. Like, they're bad for sure, but, like, I like them. They're good.
Roger Py
Yeah, that's most. See, I find the joy in the bad things in life, right? Like, I love Madam.
Greg Miller
What did you say yesterday after we watch Raw? Oh, what did I say, so you'll never watch wrestling with a live chat again.
Roger Py
Oh, yeah. That was the worst experience ever.
Greg Miller
Roger.
Tim Gettys
I thought about this a lot though last night because I know we had a follow up conversation about it and you're like, you were getting upset that the chat was like, you know, just harsh in your vibe.
Roger Py
Yeah, yeah, yeah. The chat's just like, oh, man, that was stiff. I'm like, I don't know. But then.
Tim Gettys
So I was thinking about this whole time, stiff is like a wrestling.
Roger Py
Yeah, well, they're hurting. Yeah, I understand. Like where it looks like. Yeah. But like it's still like, I don't know, you know what I mean? I don't want to hear that.
Greg Miller
I don't want to do your thing though. How much they didn't like each other. They're still. They're hitting.
Roger Py
That's true. Exactly. I don't want to hear.
Andy Cortez
I didn't like how audible they were.
Roger Py
What?
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yeah, I saw you tweet about. I didn't understand it.
Andy Cortez
They were like, you don't like them?
Blessing Adioye Jr.
They were hurt.
Andy Cortez
They were 15. Too audible.
Roger Py
No, I think that's because of like Wrestlemania. They started doing that. They did that during WrestleMania 40 for Roman and Cody. And it was like. Because they were expecting a little bit more of that and they just.
Andy Cortez
I don't know. I'm used to like watching a wrestling match and hearing like, this is my play, you know, you know, off the mic. Right. But this was like a little too. It's like they were almost miked. Like they just had boom dudes, like boom mics, like pointing right at him. A little too much because I'll just be like, you see this? I built this place. And like they're all. And it's like Roman Reigns, you need more. Or Seth. Yeah, Seth Rollins, you need more hair grease. Like your hair is just.
Tim Gettys
You need more.
Andy Cortez
It was all fluffy. You need a grease man.
Roger Py
Got a lot of grease.
Tim Gettys
Them off everybody.
Andy Cortez
He didn't look like he got out of the shower like he usually does, you know?
Roger Py
Yeah.
Tim Gettys
This year, thank you to our Patreon producers Delaney Twining and Carl Jacobs. Today we're brought you by Rocket Money. But we'll tell you all about that later. Time for the topic of the show. 2025 video game predictions month by month by Roger Nostraminus.
Roger Py
Do you want me to go month by month and we start with January and then because I have a. I have like an expanded version of the document that you have, right?
Tim Gettys
What does that even mean?
Roger Py
I have One that has more detail for everything.
Tim Gettys
I thought, okay, well, yeah, yeah, no, I'm a tee you up. You'll give the prediction and then we will judge Rodamis.
Greg Miller
God forbid you're like this. Just go home, come up with a great idea. Don't do it on your channel. Come do it for us.
Roger Py
You know, Come on. Go do learn right now.
Andy Cortez
Are you talking about the Contender?
Greg Miller
Put your face on the.
Roger Py
The.
Greg Miller
The bits for us. You know what I mean?
Blessing Adioye Jr.
He does so much for us.
Tim Gettys
Also.
Roger Py
I had all the intentions to do.
Greg Miller
It for my personal channel at home too. Yeah, but then you got wise. You stream at home too. Just think about next time you go hit that button, you're like, maybe I should go to bed at 6:30, wake up, refresh for kind of funny. You know what I mean?
Blessing Adioye Jr.
I phone it in for my streams. I had 30 viewers last night. Watch me play Magic.
Tim Gettys
January 2025, the month that we are in right now. Roger, what's going to happen?
Roger Py
Roger says, of course Switch two is announced. But I got to add a little bit of fun here. I had a little bit of fun here. I did. See this is a lot of this stuff is based off of gaming leaks and rumors. You all see the stuff. But I'm going to take it a little bit further. I saw something that said that Fidel Castro Pharrell, Pharrell Williams company is working on like the. The song for the commercial of the reveal of the Switch 2. I think that's probably true. That sounds fun. Like that sounds like a good idea. And I also saw that Sabrina Carpenter was potentially part of this. So my prediction here, this is all.
Greg Miller
Stuff, you know, this is all rumored.
Roger Py
Yeah.
Tim Gettys
This all references Nintendo in the hit song Espresso.
Roger Py
Exactly. So I think references a lot of.
Greg Miller
Other things Nintendo want to be connected to, you know.
Roger Py
Yeah. But she's part of Dunkin Donuts now and they're a wholesome brand. So, like, you know, fair enough. Nintendo want to pick her up. Yeah, exactly. So my idea is in the trailer, you know, you're gonna have the generic thing of everyone playing. Playing the Switch, walking around, they're on the rooftop, you know, doing that thing. But she's gonna be on stage. Maybe you're gonna have the. The cut of like a fan in the. In the audio or in line playing the Switch. They're in. They're in the. They're in the audience. Oh, my gosh. Sabrina Carpenter, she's. She's singing, she's doing her thing. She gets off stage and she's tired, right? She's tired. She goes to her green, green room, she sits down, she picks up her switch. Picks up her switch. She's playing it and she's like, you know what presses the C button, which is that extra button that they have, connects to the dock wirelessly.
Tim Gettys
Cast button.
Roger Py
It's a cast button. It's a cast button. And wirelessly she can now connect to the dock and she's playing her switch on the tv. So I think that is the, the fun feature, the fun hardware feature that Nintendo is adding to the Switch to make it a little different.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
That goes hard.
Roger Py
Yeah, I like that idea. And the more I think about it, the more it makes sense it is connecting to the Wii U. I don't know what the screen does. Maybe it just goes black. Maybe some games actually have some features. But I think that that is a compelling argument for a switch to being able to just sit there, not even have to worry about the dock. You just press a button, boom, it's on the tv.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Tim. Yeah, I know it's insane to say it right. Obviously the Switch one, I think took the, the sins of the Wii U and made them right. What if, based on what Roger's saying, the Switch 2 takes even more of those sins and makes them right?
Tim Gettys
Right.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
What if it is like a dual screen experience? What if you are like, okay, cool, you could do the touchscreen shit on your Switch too. But then. Yeah, while you're casting to your TV like that gives you unique features.
Roger Py
Yeah.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Bringing the 3Ds back essentially in a way.
Andy Cortez
I mean, dual screen experience.
Tim Gettys
I mean, I think it's less 3ds, but DS. Right. Opening up the world to the DS. Being on Nintendo Switch Online. I'm right there with you. I think that this is a, like, I think that a lot.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Wow.
Tim Gettys
The one thing that I don't know is a lock is, is it January or Sabrina Carpenter? Like I do, I think it's January, I do.
Roger Py
Yeah.
Tim Gettys
But no, the Sabrina, all that stuff, I believe.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yeah, that sounds right.
Tim Gettys
Honestly, I really, really believe the details of the, the her actually doing all. I don't know about that.
Andy Cortez
They're really kicking Brie Larson to the curb like that.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yes.
Roger Py
Wow.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yes.
Tim Gettys
Wow.
Andy Cortez
After the Marvels, after the Marvels they're giving into the. To the fucking.
Roger Py
Anti woke crowd.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Sabrina Carpenter, higher on the tone pool than Brie Larson.
Greg Miller
Yeah. Has had quite the fall. You know what I mean? In terms of her stock right now.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
If you want to speak to America, you get Sabrina Carpenter.
Andy Cortez
I'm not even saying you're wrong. I'm just hurt by it. Like, I don't like it. You know, you're not on the Sabrina Carpenter.
Tim Gettys
No, I love Sabrina Carpenter.
Andy Cortez
I'm just, like, it hurts my heart that Brie Lars is being done dirty this way.
Tim Gettys
I agree.
Andy Cortez
In the video.
Tim Gettys
By Nintendo, by the world, by the incels.
Andy Cortez
Yeah.
Tim Gettys
She's being done incredibly, incredibly dirty. Brie Larson.
Roger Py
Oh, yeah.
Tim Gettys
Yeah. I would put her on the top 10 list of, like, it's her and.
Andy Cortez
Then it's Abby from the last.
Tim Gettys
Yeah, pretty much, dude. Straight up. But yeah. No, I think that Sabrina Carpenter and Pharrell to some extent are involved in the.
Greg Miller
You mean Pharrell himself is in it.
Tim Gettys
Too, or is it just the production?
Greg Miller
Pharrell better stay out of it. He had his moment. Pharrell had the big hat moment. He had the big hat moment. He had the robin th. He had the robin thick moment. Like, he had his moments.
Roger Py
He had his lego movie to be.
Greg Miller
In the Nintendo thing.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yes, he does.
Greg Miller
Ben doesn't know. Ben doesn't know Pharrell Happy.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
He will.
Tim Gettys
He will.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yeah.
Greg Miller
Because of. Happy.
Tim Gettys
Because of everything he's ever done and will continue to do.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
He's always been ro.
Greg Miller
Time to go behind the scenes. Pharrell, nobody wants you up front anymore, all right? Nobody wants you in front of him.
Tim Gettys
He's always behind the scenes.
Greg Miller
Well, he better stay there.
Andy Cortez
Right? He's.
Greg Miller
If we're watching a reacts and it's Sabrina Carpenter casting away and Pharrell pops.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
His giant head, I personally, I don't think Pharrell appears in the commercial. I think he produces some kind of. I'm fine with, like, the Switch 2 jingle. I could easily see him being.
Greg Miller
That sounds great.
Tim Gettys
Just stay back.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Why do you hate Pharrell so much?
Greg Miller
I'm sick of seeing him. I'm sick of seeing him.
Roger Py
He's crying.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
He's not too much.
Greg Miller
He should be. You know what I mean?
Tim Gettys
Because just be clear. That's not the big hat.
Andy Cortez
No, wait.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
I'm sorry. What?
Andy Cortez
Why did I.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Because he was crying.
Tim Gettys
Okay.
Roger Py
Yeah, he's crying.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Love for. I mean, it's constantly 25.
Tim Gettys
Yeah, but. No, I think you're right. But I also. I do.
Greg Miller
And you.
Roger Py
All right? Annie is fine.
Greg Miller
I definitely saw whatever comment made you go, but I forgot it.
Andy Cortez
No, it wasn't even a comment. I just had an ice cube, like.
Tim Gettys
Go to the back of my throat. I panicked.
Andy Cortez
I had a panic moment.
Tim Gettys
Holy shit. I think that it will cast, and I think It'll cast wirelessly. So Rog, I think you're absolutely right there.
Roger Py
Yeah. I'm just unclear as to what is gonna be on the screen.
Greg Miller
So everyone explain this to me then. Cause you know me, I don't keep up with Nintendo rumors as much. Cause he seemed like in the weeds rumors than like something we would cover on games daily for the cast is going to cast to the dock, not the tv. And would there not be latency? Because it's going to the dock is.
Tim Gettys
The idea there will be. I mean that's just. You know, cloud stuff has gotten so good. We'll all be dependent on your wi FI network and everything. But like we're at a place so it's.
Greg Miller
So it'd be using wi fi to connect to the dock.
Roger Py
It might have its own chip. Right. Like there's. There's ways you can get around this. But even through wi Fi, like I use my Xbox and I do the like the local remote play or whatever.
Greg Miller
I do that too.
Roger Py
Yeah. But like I use it as a controller sometimes when I'm desperate. Like there was one woman when I was. When I was at back home and I didn't have a controller, it was dead or something. And I use like my Steam deck as a controller. I was like this works perfectly. Like you can easily do this.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
I view it as a proprietary thing where almost like PlayStation Link where it is like there's their own proprietary technology that allows casting and like obviously with anything there's always going to be latency. But I think when you have it as an in house thing like hey, this is a Nintendo only talking to that. It is only talking to that thing. Like you're going to have like such a low amount of latency that might not even matter.
Tim Gettys
Yeah, I think it's going to work like I don't think it's going to be like the work as well.
Roger Py
And you hear the sound effect like that. That, that just is such a. Yeah, it makes so much.
Andy Cortez
There's going to be a cute little feedback on the screen that like you see like the screen you guys have.
Greg Miller
I'm for real. You're doing it while it's by. You all want for real world. You all want.
Tim Gettys
Nailed it. But Greg, to go deeper into your question about like where this is coming from. A lot of the leaked images of what the Joy Cons might look like at this point. Leaked divisions of what the Joy cuts might actually freaking be. In the last week or two, I feel like things have went from diagrams to like in Hand. But there is a mysterious button on it.
Greg Miller
Oh, no, I've seen that. I know that. I've heard. I haven't had a conversation with anyone about what the C means. So I was just wondering how the.
Roger Py
Casting rumor would work if the C is a camera. Then I changed my prediction. They're recording Sabrina Carpenter in the crowd. Because that is kind of a meme, right? Using Nintendo products as.
Greg Miller
That was Chapel Roan. Yeah, that's when she saw that in the crowd.
Tim Gettys
So.
Greg Miller
Bitch, are you using the DNA?
Tim Gettys
Sabrina herself. Like, there's the picture of her with. I forget what guy it was. It was before Rat Boy. Before Barry. We call him Rat Boy. They were chilling there and he had his. Like, they were playing ds.
Roger Py
Oh, that's cute.
Tim Gettys
Okay, so, like, there's. There's lineage here, for sure.
Roger Py
I like that.
Tim Gettys
So, yeah, the. The wireless doc stuff. I believe it. Let's talk January.
Greg Miller
You ever think about him? Carpenter, hit her up your switch.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
I think there's a good chance there have been.
Tim Gettys
I've.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
See this. This is one of those things where the rumor mill for the Switch 2 has gone so deep that I don't even know where we're at with anything anymore. But I remember there being talks of, like, a Switch to announcement happening in. In January. I don't know if I stand by that as far as, like, the legitimacy of it, but I think if we're talking about what makes sense, I think a January reveal for it could make sense in the coming weeks. But honestly, I can probably say that about any month.
Greg Miller
That's the thing about it where it's at this point. We've all been waiting so long for this and thinking it's around the corner for so long that it has to be around the corner. So, yeah, January makes sense. I just feel like the rumor, right, was that, you remember, we were coming up on kind of Funny Day. There was this rumor suddenly of like, well, Nintendo is going to want to do it immediately. Want to get it done as fast as possible. Okay, well, is that actually happening on the third when we come back? Or now we're here in this week. Are we going to hear something about it?
Andy Cortez
This has to be the year for Shovel Night or for a fogging Hollow Knight Silk song. Right? Like, that's where we're at with which news? I think, like, I would dollars of donuts. Greg, those Pop Tart donuts out there.
Greg Miller
That I just bought, they look good. I can grab.
Roger Py
Did anyone have the small Pop Tart on top of it?
Andy Cortez
No.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
No. I Looked at it.
Roger Py
Let's all cut into fours.
Greg Miller
I know it's okay to cut a donut up, but you cut a tip of a pizza off here.
Roger Py
No, no, we're not doing this.
Greg Miller
He fucking bought tacos.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
All right.
Greg Miller
Stay out of my pizza box, you raccoon.
Roger Py
They weren't good. The burritos weren't good.
Tim Gettys
We traditionally get a Nintendo direct in January or February and normally February I would say we get more of them. So with that, I feel like we will assuredly get something on this.
Roger Py
It's not a direct though, right? Like it's just like 24 hours ahead of time. Like see the future of Nintendo tomorrow.
Tim Gettys
But my point is I don't think we see another direct without knowing about the Switch too. Because I do not think we get another direct that's like we will not be talking about the Switch too. I think the next direct, we're talking about the Switch too. So I think January could make a lot of sense for a February direct that shows a lot more things. Although I do think that it wouldn't be a direct. I think that like whatever their follow up thing is going to be like what they did in January 2017 for showing off.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Honestly, you saying that would make me think. Because I don't think we. Here's the thing. I don't think our first showing of the Switch 2 is a like sit down event, like hour long thing, right. I think they have to lead off with a commercial. I think they have to lead off with something that is two minutes long that everybody sees. You can push to the world, right? Like you have to go for the mass audience with your first foot, right? And then, and then you follow up with the hour long thing or like the more detailed. Here are all the games, here's all this shit.
Andy Cortez
And they're different presentations.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yeah, I think for sure they're different things.
Tim Gettys
That's what they did with the Switch one.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yeah.
Tim Gettys
Commercial in October presentation, January launch in March.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
So I could see commercial January and then to Tim's point of like the February direct or whatever. Right. Like I'm with you that you don't get to a direct without having the Switch to announced already. So yeah, like I think January commercial, February presentation, not even to direct. It's a presentation.
Roger Py
Okay, well we'll talk more about the Switch later on.
Tim Gettys
Just adding something to this. I've been saying it, but I stand by it. And now I want to add a little extra fun for myself. Elden Ring will be in this commercial.
Roger Py
Yeah, yeah, okay. Yeah, okay.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
That's fair.
Roger Py
That's fair.
Tim Gettys
And Sabrina Carpenter can be playing Elden Ring.
Roger Py
No, no, no. She's gonna be back.
Tim Gettys
That's fire.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Be playing one, two, Switch Two.
Tim Gettys
Everybody wants to switch.
Roger Py
Yeah. Elden Ring will definitely be. That has to be.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
I forgot to got trailer. Everybody did.
Tim Gettys
All right, Roger. February.
Roger Py
February. It's finally time. GTA 6 trailer. And it's 2026. It's that we're going to get a trailer and it's going to be very soon, but I don't think there's no way that we start off this year and we're still pretending that it's 2025. This is going to get moved out to 2026.
Andy Cortez
They're going to get out ahead of it pretty early.
Roger Py
Yes. And also, here's the thing.
Tim Gettys
Why?
Roger Py
First things first. I mean, I think the game just needs time and it's going to. You want that game to be perfect. And they keep on talking, but GTA 6. 2026. What a ring. You know what I mean? It just. It just. It just rolls off the tongue. GTA 6. 2026. It rolls off the tongue. It feels good.
Andy Cortez
It's an 11, 1111 sort of situation. Yeah.
Roger Py
It just feels good. It feels good. And we can just get out of it. We can.
Tim Gettys
I'm going to say no to this one.
Roger Py
Why is that?
Tim Gettys
Because. Why get ahead of it? I think they want to get ahead of it. I think that they want to make it this year. I don't think they're going to make that call this early. I don't think that they know this early. And even if they did, I think that the powers that be are like, but what if we did it? You know what I mean?
Roger Py
Yeah.
Tim Gettys
February just seems a little too soon for me.
Roger Py
That's fair. That's fair.
Greg Miller
What about the thing with February? I'm trying to figure out the fiscal year part of it. Right. Because that's the rumor. Right. That they've said the estimated fiscal year 2025. I don't know. I'm trying to find if that. I can't remember anymore. If they said specifically that's when it is. That was the fact. Yeah.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yeah.
Greg Miller
If that was the fact, then March 31st.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Right.
Greg Miller
Is the end of the fiscal year. You'd have to get some. If. If you wanted to say that, which you would adjust what your actual fiscal projection is going to be, that'd be.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
The time to say, I believe the trailer said 2025.
Greg Miller
No, that's true. Yeah.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Okay.
Roger Py
Yeah. That's the reason I put it in February, it's in the middle, it's right before the end of the fiscal quarter. Right. Them trying to get ahead of a deal. Hey, we're not, we're gonna say this in a call eventually, right? Let's just give a trailer, let's say 2026. Give the fans something. Right? So then we know, hey, this game is not just in development hell. It's not, something's not wrong with it. It's just we know it's 2026. That was my thinking.
Andy Cortez
I, I'm with Roger on this one. I, I, it does seem like just one of those games that you not only need to get perfect, but it's kind of a Red Dead 2 situation where you know you're likely going to be limited to 30 frames per second and they want to make sure that that's as smooth of an experience as possible because the Series S was going to need a shitload of optimization. The Series X and the PS5 as well. The PS5 Pro might have a PS5 Pro version, or maybe not a version, but a just a setting that you need to get right on there as well. Yeah, I do think that that seems to make the most sense.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yeah, I'm like, I'm half and half right now. Right. Because I do think, to Greg's point, I think fiscal year plays a huge part of it. To your point as well, Roger? I think fiscal year plays a huge part of it. But I think the question is, does. I don't, I don't think, I don't. I don't think Rockstar or Take Two even thinks this game is coming out in 2025. Even though they keep reiterating fall. The question is, do they think it's coming out in the fiscal year? Is it coming out in that January to March period of next year?
Tim Gettys
If it slips of next year?
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yeah.
Tim Gettys
So join 26.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
2026.
Roger Py
Right.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Like, is it coming out early 2026 or does it miss the, like the fiscal year entirely? I think that is going to then shake up how they want to talk about it because if they think that it's still coming out in this next fiscal year of March, this upcoming March to March, I could see them playing it fast and loose. I think they then wait to talk about delaying it because like it's still going to come out in the fiscal year, hopefully, like we're still going to get that, get that same amount of money. If they think it's going to come out later next year, then I think you're right Roger. That they had to get ahead of it and maybe talk about it maybe in February.
Roger Py
Yeah.
Tim Gettys
That's why I think we don't hear about this until after March.
Roger Py
Do we get deep in there?
Greg Miller
Right.
Roger Py
The every time a Rockstar game has been delayed, it hasn't been earlier on in the year. Right. I believe Red Dead Redemption was pretty like not close to release, but it was like middle of the year. Right. I mean correct me if I'm wrong Chat but I don't like when we're.
Tim Gettys
Thinking about like who it benefits to announce that it benefits delayed. It's like it's not the gamers and it's not the shareholders. Like at the. When you think about the timing like like it would benefit them most to put out a trailer to hype people up right before that shareholders call but don't even like still pretend it's 2025 even if they. They don't know. Right. Like it doesn't behoove them at all to say 2026. So I just don't. I don't think.
Roger Py
Well, Roger Thomas has spoked. He spoke to it.
Tim Gettys
Joey Radstone writes in says what about GTA 6 Super bowl commercial. Wow. That's pretty interesting.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
I think that's next year thing. I think maybe you wait until the game is like on the precipice.
Tim Gettys
That's pretty good though.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yeah. I think that's geared.
Roger Py
Come on Roger.
Tim Gettys
Damn.
Greg Miller
What a way to it now what's the most. What's the most way we can people over crush their dreams like you're watching this. You roll this trailer like this is fucking 2026.
Tim Gettys
March.
Roger Py
March is a fun one. I call it February Fallout. No, a Fallout game is not announced. Or maybe it is, maybe it is, but now it is. It is talking about the releases of February and the kind of what settles the big ones here that I have which I stand by. I think Assassin's Creed, Shadows and Avowed are going to underperform.
Greg Miller
Wow.
Roger Py
For different reasons. Right. I think about is just going to underperform because we just don't have the right marketing. We are not saying this is Skyrim. You know what I mean? Because of course they own Skyrim and they own Bethesda. They don't want to do that comparison. That's the best way to market that game in my opinion. And also Shadows is just. They. That's not going to bomb. Right. Shadows is not going to bomb. It's going to do very well. Ubisoft is going to say hey, we Wanted way more copies. We're going to want 10 more cop million. 10 more, 10 million more copies than we actually have. That's just because they've, they've put all their eggs in one basket, right? Assassin's Creed Shadows is the game that they need to perform and I don't think it's going to perform in the level that they need it to. It's like Square Enix, right? Like every game that comes out sells millions of copies but not enough.
Greg Miller
I want to first pull on Avowed because I think Assassin's Creed. I'm right there with you. But Avowed, you say you think it's going to underperform. You're thinking in Xbox's eyes critically where.
Roger Py
No, I'm talking, I'm talking not critically, I'm talking, I'm talking money wise, right? I'm just talking like I think they.
Greg Miller
Have that high hopes for it. I think of Avowed it very much in that Pentiment camp. We're putting this thing out there and it's going to speak to a very specific audience and we hope it gets flowers from that. RPG gamers, we really hope you love this and you really talk about it.
Roger Py
But is it going to move the needle in terms of game pass? Is it going to not?
Greg Miller
But I don't think they think it is.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
See, I don't, I mean I don't think they're thinking of Pentiment at all.
Roger Py
Right.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Like I think you look at a valid and you look at it in the vein of an outer worlds or like the vein of maybe not necessarily a Skyrim because I think the name brand and like the, the scope of Skyrim is a bit too big to compare to Avowed. But I think it is a third person or not third person. It is a. Can be sometimes depends but it is a AAA is what I mean. AAA rpg like triple A Western action rpg. And I think that does come with a level of budget that you're putting into making that game with you know how like how many hours that game is meant to sustain, how many. The type of players that they want to bring into this, right. Like I think they are going for the Baldur's Gate crowd, they are going for the Dragon Age crowd, they are going for the Skyrim crowd. And I think with that, right, it being Obsidian, those level of expectations you have for it, I think if the plan is for this game to sell even just around a number, right. If they're planning for it to sell 4 million, I think it's going to sell 2 million. Like I'm with Roger there where I don't think the marketing is right on this one.
Greg Miller
See, I just disagree. I think obviously, yeah, they're targeting the Skyrim crowd, they're targeting the Baldur's great crowd. But I don't think they're looking at this as this is a triple A RPG we're making that everyone like, I just don't. That's not the vibe I get. I throw in our worlds too, but I also don't think they look at outer worlds too, or outer worlds as that. I think this is the thing we argue all the time in this or the chat usually argues in this show. What is triple A? What isn't, what's double A and where, blah, blah. I think when you look at what Obsidian makes and the way they make it and how fast they make it, I think if you were to talk to Xbox about Obsidian, they are making double A games with a triple A pedigree would be the way I would put it. Right. I think. I think the nuts and bolts of what I've seen of about make you go, wow, that's gonna be such a great RPG. But I do think it's going to be a 20, 40 hour RPG. I do think it's going to be. Oh man, seams are showing. It's a little rough here. There. I'm not expecting this to be polished. Awesome.
Andy Cortez
And they said as much. I mean, when Avowed has that initial first trailer and it's I think Game awards or summer Game Fest. I'm forgetting which one it was, but it was just more of a game show. You just see like a hand holding a sword. It's like Avowed, holy shit. Here's this big new, you know, fantasy rpg. This is going to be massive. And then they came back, they came out a year later or so and said, hey, we scaled back what that what about was going to be. We wanted it to be this huge thing. We decided we're going to scale it back and have it not be this gigantic, expansive Skyrim like experience. I think I'm with Greg with their expectations in set. I think that they're expecting, you know, three to four to five millions.
Greg Miller
I think they're looking at Obsidian and they're saying, pentiment outer worlds. Avowed make awesome fucking games. We're not looking for gigantic sales. I think this is the, hey, let's satisfy the core gamer who we want to keep subscribe to Game Pass with great experiences.
Roger Py
Yeah, I just don't see a World where avowed. I mean even from like the hardcore gamers that I know like that aren't in our sphere, right. The people that are outside that would be perfect for a vowed, right? I know they play these types of games. They're like what is this game like? Like they're. This is not there. I do. There could be a word of mouth situation, right? This game.
Greg Miller
That's what I think.
Tim Gettys
So well yeah, it previewed so well.
Roger Py
Exactly.
Tim Gettys
Which surprised me.
Greg Miller
I think they, I think they are counting on that. That this isn't a game. You can show a trailer during the super bowl and make people go oh yeah, I'm all about game pack.
Roger Py
I mean, I mean this is a crazy month. We know this month we have Civ 7, we have Yak. You have Assassin's Creed Shadows, you have a vowed, you have Monster Hunter. Right. Like you have so many games that are coming out this month. It's like something's got to break here. And I don't. I see Civ 7 taking a huge part of that PC crowd spending their 70 bucks. I see you know, Monster Hunter taking a huge, huge chunk. And that's also part of my prediction. Monster Hunter is going to be the biggest in the franchise. Biggest launch. You know. Of course that's gonna be a 30 million exactly. It's gonna go insane. S and Yakuza are gonna do about what you expect from those franchises. I think SIV is gonna be really successful. Yakuza is going to be way less successful. But Crowd and Bloom and Rage. I think it's going to get lost in the shuffle, right. It's going to review. Well probably, hopefully. But you know, you're not going to. That's not going to save Donan.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Sadly. That's my thing. I think out of all those games that you mentioned to me, a vow does have at least shine to it. When you're talking about like what stands out, what's exciting.
Roger Py
Maybe it has a long shelf life, right? Maybe, maybe, maybe this is going to be the one that like the PC crowd really gets behind over the next, you know, year. Right. But I don't know. Like I'm just scared for about and I want that to be.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
I do look at it in a different vein than Outer Worlds. Right. Like Outer Worlds I think has the personality, has the charm. Like you look at it and you go oh damn. Like it's space Fallout. Oh you know like spacers choice or whatever. Like there's like branding and an identity that Outer worlds had that Outer World had even in Its marketing that I think about still lacks even in like the previews of it.
Roger Py
Right.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Because I previewed it. Previewed it. I really liked it. I'm looking forward to it. But like, even still, like, I'm looking forward to it in the way that I just happen to not really be in the audiences for a lot of the other games coming out in February.
Roger Py
Right.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
I'm not an Assassin's Creed person. I'm not a civ person. I'm not a monster hunter person. Right. Like, but a lot of people are. And I don't know, I. I am looking at a vowel right now as like, cool, I'm gonna play it, but I don't. I still don't know if it's a game I'm gonna evangelize about.
Tim Gettys
Right.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
I don't know if it's a game that I'm gonna play and be like, yo, you guys gotta play a val. Like, this shit rocks. Like, I think I'm gonna play it right now and be happy that I'm playing a western first person RPG that I like.
Roger Py
Yeah.
Tim Gettys
Assassin's Creed though.
Roger Py
Yeah.
Tim Gettys
I mean, it's an interesting conversation there. I think no matter what happens, it's going to underperform in terms of sales, like you're saying, because of, of what we've seen from Ubisoft Next and the.
Roger Py
Delay too, and everything.
Tim Gettys
I think the bigger question is, does it underperform in terms of critical reception and gamer critical reception?
Greg Miller
My bet is yes. So I'm making a bet on that.
Roger Py
Especially after Ghosts, right? Like you have that, you know, experience in Japan before with Samurai and everything, and you have this and people are going to compare it. It's going to be a one to one comparison. Right. And that game's also on PC. So. Yeah, I don't know. I don't think it's going to. Yeah, it goes. Yeah, it's everywhere. People have been playing it. So yeah, I don't know. I think it's gonna be great.
Tim Gettys
Is it the end of Ubisoft? And I don't.
Roger Py
We will talk about that later. We will talk about that later, buddy. This next one is April Switch. Two launches. Here is just a few things. Really quick. We'll just go through it. Some of my launch lineup or launch window lineup going off of what Tim has been saying. Donkey Kong and Mario. I think that game is going to be called Mario and Donkey Kong Odyssey. We just fully do it. We just do Mario, Donkey Kong Odyssey.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
I like that.
Roger Py
Elden Ring is going to be in the launch Window. It's going to Elden Ring, Night Reign specifically. But I think you're going to get both those games either as a package or separately. Whatever. But Night Rain is going to be in the marketing.
Andy Cortez
Brie Larson going to be playing with.
Roger Py
Yeah, exactly. Metro Prime.
Tim Gettys
Imagine the squad gets together.
Roger Py
Metroid Prime 4. Of course. Here's my weird one here, which I know we've talked about, we've had these conversations about. I am still very bullish on, I think Animal Crossing. This the highest selling physical game in Japanese history. Right. Like, it is. It is a game that literally, I know so many people in my life that only have switches that have only played Animal Crossing. That is it. To me, that is a bigger priority for them to put that on that switch at launch to get people to pay $70 for it, then maybe even a Mario Kart potentially. Like at least getting that audience of people in on the switch too. That is exciting. And also it makes sense timeline wise.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Right?
Roger Py
The game came out in 2020 and they stopped development of any DLC almost immediately. They had two packs and they were like, we're done. Bye. Like, they just stopped updating that game.
Tim Gettys
So you're telling me you think we're getting 3D, Mario, Animal Crossing and Metroid Prime 4 all at launch, launch window?
Roger Py
It could be the next six months or whatever. Like, we're not getting at launch launch, but within that six months. I. I see that as a thing.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
I don't.
Roger Py
I didn't put any Zelda, which you have. You can't count out Zelda. But also, all I can think of was like a Wind Waker remaster or something like that. I don't.
Andy Cortez
I'm a believer of Roster Donovan right now.
Roger Py
Yeah, I don't know, man.
Greg Miller
If he's giving me an Animal Crossing at launch, I'm in.
Roger Py
One more thing, One more thing to throw in here. There's got to be a negative with all this, right? There's got to be some weird Nintendo decision, right?
Greg Miller
Wnd.
Roger Py
So mine, so mine is, is that every first party game that was available on Switch has a 4K upgrade for $7, but it's available and for free as part of a Nintendo Switch Online.
Tim Gettys
Oh, wow.
Roger Py
They have it so you can buy it piecemeal. Or if you have Nintendo Switch Online, you get the 4K upgrade. It's only in the first party games. Or maybe they have some third party, you know, connections there, but they're gonna just do that.
Tim Gettys
I'm with you on that to some extent, but I don't think they offer it piecemeal. I think that they really just want to push Nintendo Switch online. Switch online. That's how they get people in. But on top of that, I don't think that this is how it's going to work. I don't think that they can just be like, hey, it's all these games.
Roger Py
Well, they're going to work. They're going to work on your Switch too. They might even run a little bit better. They're just a, you know, a patch that will make it look even better. Like they put actual work into making these games look like 4K.
Tim Gettys
That's the part that I'm just not sure that that's going to happen. I mean, I feel like they're going to figure. I don't think they're just, oh, your existing games can now look better. I think that it will be like remaster, remaster, choice by choice, like certain packs for certain games that they really are like, hey, there's like a. It doesn't even need. It doesn't have to be a full game or whatever.
Andy Cortez
It could just be like choke on another ice cube.
Tim Gettys
I'm just gonna be like every first party game. I don't think so.
Roger Py
I mean, people are mad in the chat, but Nintendo does crazy shit.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
I kind of believe it.
Roger Py
Yeah.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Like the idea of, the idea of even being remasters, like I am buying Mario Kart 8 Deluxe for a third time, right? To like play in 4K. It sounds crazy enough to work Nintendo. And I'm like, who? How do we get more money out of these guys? But also like, you know, how do we maintain our Nintendo identity? Oh, let's, let's pay for more. You know, let's retain this value in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Cuz even though it's a 7 year old game, still, still slaps, you know.
Roger Py
I don't want it to happen, but I, I don't know.
Andy Cortez
I don't know if I've been more excited for anything in the last decade than I am for this Switch.
Tim Gettys
Let's go baby.
Andy Cortez
Like, I am legitimately so excited to have just better looking running versions of games that Nintendo knows what the they're doing with art direction. And that's why anytime you open a game, it's like, God, this looks incredible. And yeah, it doesn't run great, but man, opening up Mario Party over the break jamboree, it's like, dude, they're, they're so good with how their games are presented and just like look and appeal and that shit's. Gonna be, look. Oh man.
Greg Miller
Are you thinking that this will actually solve that or is it gonna be you turn on Switch 2 and you're still like, ah, it still is not as good as it could have been.
Andy Cortez
No, because I'm, I, I know what this, I go into a Nintendo experience in ecosystem knowing your bars lower. I'm not, yeah, my bar is automatically lower. I mean the fact that, that, you know, if you, if you gave me a PC game that looked and ran like Pokemon, Scarlet and Violet, I would have said I'm not playing this. But when it's on Switch, I'm like, man, this is number nine on my top ten great experience or whatever. But yeah, definitely my bar is absolutely lower.
Tim Gettys
I mean my thing is like just turning it on in the menu. Being in 4k is going to go such a long way. Like just the, the entire experience of how just blurry things look, it just, it feels lesser then. And yeah, I feel like that alone is going to, yeah.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
I'm of two minds where you know, Roger says $7, I'll pay more for that to get to Kingdom to like look and run.
Roger Py
I mean $10 makes sense.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
I mean I, I would make money.
Greg Miller
If they, and if they bundle it in to Switch online. What a brilliant move.
Roger Py
Yeah.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yeah. The other mind though is for, is Nintendo has never been about fidelity.
Greg Miller
Right.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Nintendo, I don't think it's ever, has ever been great about. We're gonna market this for how much better your things are gonna look because they're always gonna lose that fight.
Tim Gettys
Right?
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Because if I'm, if I'm gonna pay more to play a better looking Tears of the Kingdom, I'm still going to look at any game on my Xbox or my PlayStation and go, okay. But it doesn't look as good, like anywhere near as good as the best stuff I'm playing over here. Why am I spending $10?
Roger Py
Yeah.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
To play this game? And it looks now what, like a PS4 title?
Roger Py
I mean it's gonna look, I mean PS4 Uncharted 4. Yeah. Way good. But I get what you're saying. I, I, that's why I, I, I just don't see them doing like, hey, everything looks beautiful and everything's hunky dory. With your Switch one you put in Tears of the Kingdom and it runs at 60fps and it's 4K. I'm like, I don't see that whatsoever. Like if they will give you that ability to play Tears of the kingdom at 60fps in 4K eventually is that going to be a remaster or is that just going to be an upgrade and they're trying to get you get money out of it. I see that as an easier way for them to get money. It's just being like, hey, here's the patches. Has 10$10 each or whatever.
Andy Cortez
So excited.
Tim Gettys
Let's get to May.
Roger Py
May this one be May this one is PlayStation showcase time. That sounds about right to me. So new IP from Sony Santa Monica opens the show. Go see yote new trailer Wolverine new trailer Game I will talk about later is revealed and Andy. It's happening. Bloodborne remake closes the show. It's about persistence. They said it, they said it, they said it.
Andy Cortez
Oh, man.
Roger Py
Ends the show. I, I they, they have a piece of the the company that owns from software now they're collaborating a little bit more. Maybe it's gonna happen. I what if this is the year? What if this is the year, Andy?
Tim Gettys
It all ends up. I mean, look, it's very lofty obviously thing of dreams here, getting a PlayStation showcase that good in May. It's what we want but honestly, it's what we need from PlayStation at this point. We know Naughty Dog's next game, they've got the ball rolling. They're making these announcements whether they're ready to make them or not. So break the Internet, keep it going.
Roger Py
Break the Internet. End the show with it. I know it's not the biggest reveal out of all this, right? You're going to have a fucking new game from Sony Santa Monica. But I think ending the show would be really fucking sick on bloodborne remake.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
See, I don't know. I'm in a weird place with PlayStation showcase. I already talked about this. Our predictions for game awards be even thinking about upcoming ones. I think no matter what, we get a PlayStation thing in May, whether it be a showcase or a state of play. But like the longer we go with it, the more I am, the more I am like, what's going on over here? He's leaving.
Greg Miller
There's a light buzz in Roger's microphone. We're fixing, that's all.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Oh, I see, I see, I see the further we get out from like, I guess the further we go on in this generation and see the results we've gotten from the previous PlayStation showcases, the more I'm like, I don't know, man. I think I could see us getting More and more PlayStation big announcements at Geoff Keighley things as opposed to just a PlayStation thing, right? I think, you know, a play, a bloodborne remake. I could See it being at a state of play and then a Sony Santa Monica new IP being at Jeff Keeley Summer Game Fest. Like, I think that's kind of where we're at right now. I know that sounds crazy to say.
Tim Gettys
I don't agree, but I see why.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
I just think the Track record for PlayStation Showcase hasn't been good. And I think PlayStation knows there's been one bad one. Yeah, but like, when was the last good one? Like four years ago. Yeah, that's a long time.
Tim Gettys
But we do them when you have the good stuff.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Things change a lot in four years. Like, that's my thing is, I think when you're talking about that long since the last, like, really good PlayStation showcase, why do we think the same PlayStation that put out that in what, 20, 21, whatever that was, is operating the same way now?
Tim Gettys
Because the lineup of games they had then were the ones we didn't want, but the lineup of games they have now are the ones we want.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Oh, no, man, I.
Greg Miller
It's. Yeah, I. I want that. That's what makes me think I won't get it. Where it's like, I. I mean, I know you're not late with leaving it off, but it's just like you're not saying. Everything I should say is what's up. But it's like that's a year of dreams kind of stuff right there. And I know that is technically what's in the chamber. Right. But there's also Marathon. Well, not the Bloodburn remaster, but there's Marathon to worry about. There's other things that they have about. There's going to be the third party partnerships in there. I think that would just maybe you get two of these right, where you get Ghost for sure. Obviously they have to Wolverine. You hope. But again, how far out is that? Where are we at with that? Like, there's been turnover and insomniac on that project.
Roger Py
Right?
Greg Miller
What has it actually done to it?
Roger Py
Yeah, the leaks and everything.
Greg Miller
Yeah.
Andy Cortez
Fair Games.
Greg Miller
Oh, yeah, we're coming, everybody.
Roger Py
But you know, you're either getting the.
Greg Miller
Fair Games trailer or the announcement. They're closing Haven Studios. But one of those two is coming this year probably.
Roger Py
I've already saw it. I've already seen it.
Greg Miller
You've seen it.
Roger Py
You can't change it.
Tim Gettys
Everybody give me June.
Roger Py
June Summer Game Fest. So I got a few rapid fire ones really quick. Started off with one for you. Two Sonic Adventure Remakes. We do. We do Sonic Adventure one and two remakes. Remakes.
Tim Gettys
Oh, my God.
Roger Py
We do two we do both of them remade. We do it.
Andy Cortez
Follow me, Set me free.
Roger Py
Sonic Adventure remake likes. This one's for Barrett, who will probably run in and be like, oh, my God, you know, not happening. But it's happening. Persona 6 teaser for 2026. And then splinter Cell gameplay. We see that Ubisoft Forward. We're gonna see something. That game is in the. In the chamber. It's working. Uh, the. It's the remake of the first game.
Tim Gettys
Say his name and he appears.
Roger Py
I've already seen it. I've already seen it. I've already seen it. I saw the vision.
Andy Cortez
You just have to.
Roger Py
That's all.
Greg Miller
The vision. They're still working on the cable.
Roger Py
Okay, never mind. And then my last one, which is my favorite one. You will not see Silksong. And then this will be the moment where we have the real conversation, and it's like, is this game in development hell? What's going on? Like, then we start to actually have those real conversations. So I like that we're not gonna see Silks.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
I mean, I hate that, but I like that.
Roger Py
Yes, that's. That's my big one here. But, yeah, I'm gonna go uppercut.
Andy Cortez
Rocha dumps in the future.
Roger Py
Hey, I gave you some good ones. I gave you Bloodborne. I gave you Bloodborne. I gave you Monkey Podcast.
Greg Miller
You can get some of.
Tim Gettys
You know, like, I like a lot of this stuff. I want to break it down. I feel like we. You're right that we don't see Silksong there, but that's because we see Silksong at a Nintendo event.
Roger Py
Oh, interesting.
Tim Gettys
That's why I think Silk Song. But I also think that Sonic Adventure, they're scared. I don't see them doing it.
Roger Py
I mean, they made a whole movie that's based off of this somewhat.
Tim Gettys
Well, I know in terms of the games, they're scared to go back to Adventure and Adventure 2. All the rumors are saying Sonic Heroes, and I think it's Sonic Heroes.
Roger Py
And there's also been rumors about remake. Though I did see some crazy. Some crazy fucking 4chan 1 where it was somebody who predicted, like, the next 10 years of Sonic, and they've gotten everything right, and the only thing that they had left was Sonic remakes. Before I go to jail, I mean, I saw some crazy shit. I saw some crazy shit.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
I hope it's Sonic Heroes. I think Sonic Heroes would be.
Roger Py
That would be cool. That would be.
Andy Cortez
I thought it was going to say they're scared of the big. The cat accusations.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
But I'm So, like, you don't think they'll do Frontiers too? I. That's what I would have assumed maybe eventually.
Roger Py
But I mean, I. I just. I remake. I mean, specifically Sonic Adventure is so popular. It also continuously has this fan base that kind of grows over the years.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Right.
Roger Py
Like, you have people that keep on going back and then, oh, my God, look how funny this moment is. If that game, if you had actual physics that worked, would be fire as remakes. Like, you can put those out, maybe. I think they're still going to do Sonic Adventure 3 and there's a Sonic.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Because I do think we're due for a, like, bigger Sonic thing the last couple of years. Well, this last year, we got Generations X Shadow Generations, and the year before, we got Sonic Superstars. Right. And then before that was Sonic Frontiers. I feel like 22 frontiers 20, like three years ago. So, yeah, 20, 22.
Tim Gettys
But counterpoint to that, yeah. Sonic's 35th anniversary is the next year. That's when we get Frontiers 2 or.
Roger Py
You get Sonic Adventure 3 or whatever.
Tim Gettys
Yeah. I'm telling you, they're scared of adventure. I would lose my goddamn mind. Adventure. I'm like, for some reason, the counter.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
To your counter, I think, if it's ready, right? Like, I think Frontiers 2 this year and then next year would be Sonic. Sonic Adventure Remake.
Tim Gettys
Yeah.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Or Heroes Remake, if you want to play it safe.
Roger Py
I think this is a good place to go to an ad, because then we start getting crazy, huh?
Tim Gettys

Roger Py
This is where we get spicy and I'm very excited about this, these next two ones. But I'll start with, of course, July Ubisoft is fully sold. It is sold after the failure quote unquote failure of Assassin's Creed Shadow under delivering that game that they're going to sell off. It's probably going to be some type of, you know, deal with Tencent and the Guillermont family. They're going to figure it out. But I, yeah, it's going to sell to probably 10 cent and we're going to go into a different direction for Ubisoft. I would like it to be not 10 cent, you know, so we can actually probably revive some of these franchises and not do a bunch of free to play weird stuff. But it's probably going to be.
Andy Cortez
So the Splinter Cell reveal or whatever.
Roger Py
That'S just going to be.
Andy Cortez
Hey, no, no, no.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
The one where I might disagree is I think it happens sooner.
Roger Py
Yeah, probably.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
I don't even think we get that far. I think like if, if, yeah, there.
Greg Miller
Was just the recently there, right. The Gimo family being more talks or whatever.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yeah. I think if in March we're talking about Assassin's Creed Shadows not performing. I think in April, I think we're talking.
Roger Py
I could also see Eve's trying to do one last big hurrah for Ub Ford. Right. Like he really cares about those E3ish press conferences. And I could see him wanting to do one last one of like, like, I'm on stage, here's my crew. It's me, it's me. I love this. Yeah. Hell yeah. And then you get the news the next month, hey, we're selling, right?
Tim Gettys
That is like that reasoning right there. You just sold me on July. Otherwise I was like, I think it's gonna be earlier. But you're right, he's gonna want that. He loves it. Yeah. I mean this, I feel like this news. Do any of us think that this. Does anyone at this table think that Ubisoft will not be sold by the end of next year? Of this year? This year.
Andy Cortez
By the end of this year.
Greg Miller
Yeah, know, it's one of those where it's like, I, I, I think Ubisoft could be sold any day. I'm not sitting here going, oh, it's going to be this year for sure. But it doesn't surprise me that it would be this year.
Tim Gettys
But I mean, like with Assassin's Creed as the impetus. Because I, I do think like after Outlaws and now this, it's like we went in from last year. We're talking about those two. They're the biggest games Ubisoft's ever had. And it's like, oh, but they also have all this live service stuff. Well, well, X Defiant's gone and Outlaws didn't do great. And we don't expect for the last.
Andy Cortez
Five years, the last several titles being the. This is make or break for ub. We've been saying that for a while.
Roger Py
Skull and Bones.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Like, I don't even think like, oh yeah, Skull and Bones, right? Like, I. I don't even think like Assassin's Creed. Shadows is a make it make or break thing. I think maybe the success of Shadows might prolong a little bit. Yeah. But I think when we're talking about last straws, right. Like, I think it was Shadows or I think it was Star Wars Outlaws. I think it's like, like the big games that have come out in the last couple years that just haven't performed for them.
Roger Py
Yeah. And I. People are saying the chat like they're. Ubisoft's not going anywhere. They're not going anywhere. Like, we're not changing the name to 10 cent, you know, France or whatever. Like we're this Isoft. Yeah, exactly. This is going to be Ubisoft.
Tim Gettys
This is the end of the Eves situation.
Roger Py
Well, yeah.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
I wonder if he's. I would think he maybe stays on.
Roger Py
No, he's staying on like that. That was the rumor was that he, his family was going to be a part of this deal and they were going to buy out Ubisoft together with 10cent. So I could see him still being a part of it or at least being like a transitional CEO for the next few years. But he's gonna be there.
Andy Cortez
That's a succession TV show based on that.
Roger Py
Sure. That'd be great. That'd be great.
Greg Miller
That'd be great stock right now. 2.66.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Mythic quest kind of is like the.
Tim Gettys
Yeah, you're right. Which is coming back next month.
Andy Cortez
Yeah.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Is it really? Is that soon? Let's go. What about the other show? Mystic Mythic Quest. More like.
Tim Gettys
Wow.
Roger Py
Yeah.
Tim Gettys
Yeah. But it's Ubisoft.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
It's like in collaboration with Ubisoft.
Roger Py
August now we're getting spicy, everybody. Phil Spencer resigns from Xbox.
Greg Miller
Whoa.
Roger Py
Now, my thought process behind this is you. Phil Spencer has gone through so much shit with Xbox. Right. And Xbox is changing so much behind the scenes when it comes to. There's all those rumors of the civil war between Microsoft and Xbox trying to put everything on third party platforms, and clearly they've lost that. Everything's going third party now. I don't think that's the. That's the straw that's gonna break his back when it comes to this. I don't think that's the reason he's leaving. I think it's just a lot of him trying to go uphill and then it just keeps on falling backwards. And you're gonna have a few moments. I do not believe this is gonna be the year where Xbox magically fixes everything. There's not gonna be the dominoes. Yeah, exactly. There's not gonna be the year where, oh my God, Xbox is. There is no scandal. There's nothing crazy that happened. There's no failure. There's going to be at least be one of those this year. But the good thing about this is that he's going to end on a high note, right? He's going to end on a high note of doom. You're going to have Fable, you're going to have all these great games, and he's going to probably announce all those games a month or two before with the Xbox game showcase. So he's going to have a huge win on his resume. And also, he didn't end on. I thought he was going to leave. When redfall happened, like when all that was going down, I was like, oh, we might just. We might just be moving leadership or whatever. But he fought through it. We got. He has a huge resume. When it comes to buying up Bethesda and buying out Activision, this is the time to leave, right? This is the time to look at the future and be like, hey, I've set up the future of Xbox. I'm just gonna. I'm just gonna peace out because this is. This is too much.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
That's my thought process, I think post acquisition, especially with the new stories we. We've had of the last year of, you know, Call of Duty and the CEO of Microsoft, Satya Nadella. Right? Like the comments of, yeah, we want to. Essentially saying we want to be third party, not verbatim, but like, basically that, right? Like, it seems like a lot of the changes and a lot of the big choices being made for Xbox have gone to A place where a lot of them are just like out of Phil Spencer's hands. Right. It's like it's more for Microsoft at this point than for Xbox. I think that might be more of the straw and maybe not maybe one of the major straws as far as Phil being like, yeah, I think my time here is done. Like he's been, he's been there forever.
Roger Py
Right?
Blessing Adioye Jr.
It's been a decade of Phil Spencer. People leave at some point. Like, sounds like, like a weird thing of, oh man, I'm out of here. I think it's more so like, yeah, I think my time's come to a close type of thing. I could see it happening.
Greg Miller
See, I don't, I don't see it happening. I want to be shocked. Obviously it's business is that it's blah, blah, blah, blah. But it's more the fact that I just don't think his work is done kind of thing. I think if Phil was going to leave Xbox right now, I think it would have to be from the top. It's time for you to go. It isn't working where blah blah blah. And there's all these, you know, we talk about it this, that the other. Are they. Are they or are they where they want to be X, Y and Z. They're still very much committed to this. You know, that's an Xbox. That's an Xbox that's next. They're going bigger with that than ever. Which makes me think that if you're still investing to that point with the merch and the ad campaign that just kicked off, it's something we've been asking about for a long time with how cloud gaming centric they've been. If they're actually pushing on that. I think Microsoft is still behind that them and that's why I don't see Phil leaving being like, I, I've got it in a good place. You don't. You know what I mean? The message still isn't there. You aren't. You aren't. Ubiquitous with games. We are still waiting for game pass and the. The fruits of the labor of collecting this infinity gauntlet of game studios to really pay off where it is. Banger after banger after banger, we're firing on Matt Booty wants something once a quarter, once a month. What it once a quarter right where he wanted a big AAA game like we aren't doing that yet and game. Maybe this is it avowed happens and then it is sorry.
Tim Gettys
South of Midnight.
Greg Miller
South of midnight.
Tim Gettys
Yeah.
Greg Miller
Maybe this is the year that the dominoes don't fall the way we've always thought they would in terms of domination, but they fall in a way where you're like, holy shit, this year of games is great, but I don't think you get to where are we? August, August. And he's like, I've, I've landed it. Mission accomplished.
Roger Py
Yeah, well, I don't think you would say mission accomplished, but I think he would be like, hey, like my time at Xbox is done. Right. Like I, I just, I, this to me, I get what you're saying and I agree with it. Of course. This is me making an outlandish prediction. Right. But I, I, I'm just surprised he stayed there for so long. Right. I'm surprised that with all the, all the that happened with Xbox that he was able to get to a place where, yeah, someone weather the store. Exactly.
Andy Cortez
And even put out. I had to Google it right now just to kind of verify. But back in March, him talking about, yeah, capitalism is the problem with the games industry. It's like, whoa, that's, that's kind of wild for you to say that, you know.
Roger Py
Yeah, well also, yeah, that's also a great point. Right. With all the layoffs that beginning of the year, right. And him just clearly being dejected of like, I, there's nothing I can do here, right. This is from Up Top. I have to close down these studios. I'm sure he was very much like, these are the studios. I like, I want to be, I want. Hi Fi. Rush too. I'm sure that that was the conversation there.
Andy Cortez
I, I do, I do think that his sort of mentality is always going to be at odds with what the directives are from Up Top. And sure, there is no other CEO that is logging hours in games like Phil Spencer is. The dude loves games. The dude comes from games. The dude cares about games and studios and the people working behind them. And unfortunately has to be the person that says, we're closing this down. You guys are getting laid off. All this stuff is getting laid off. And in the back of the, in the back of his mind, if I were to have, you know, if Roger Damas is also like a psychic or I guess you kind of are.
Roger Py
Yeah, a little bit. I could read your mind too.
Greg Miller
He's a sooth Seer.
Andy Cortez
Yeah, Soothsayer. If you can go to his mind, I bet you'd be like, man, I, I'm. This really, really sucks. And I'm not a fan of any.
Tim Gettys
Of this, you know.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
See, that's my Thing is, I. I think it's the opposite of what Greg's saying as far as, like, all right, like, my job here is done. Like, I'm like, I've taken this to the finish line. I almost think it's more of, like, a.
Greg Miller
My job will never be done. I have to go.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yeah, I think it's more so, like.
Andy Cortez
Things will get worse and worse.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yeah. I don't want to project because, like, I think at some point with this conversation, we get to the point of, like, you know, we're putting words in his mouth. We're putting words in his mouth. But I almost feel like it's more of a spirit broken thing of, like, yo, I had this vision. Like, I started. I started my presidency at xbox with, you know, Game Pass and buying the studio backwards compatibility and making these big decisions and being a face. And I think a lot of that has just backfired in a way where it is, like, all right, like, I had this vision, but, like, my. The vision is out of my hands, right? It is Microsoft's vision now of what Xbox wants and needs to be. And this is no more like, the ship that I was piloting. It is not going in the way that I want it to. That on top of what Andy's talking about as far as, like, and I have to do the layoffs. And also I had to get shit on by the entire Internet, like. Like, you know, like, whether it be the Xbox fans are never satisfied what.
Greg Miller
I do, I'm out.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Whether it be the Xbox fans or whether it be the journalists and the critics that are mad when I. When I have these layoffs, like, nobody is with me, right? And, like, I have done so much for this company. Again, projecting because not making it sound like he's fucking whining about shit, right? And again, I'm never. I. I'm not in this man's mind, but I think at a certain point, like, it is a. Yo, this shit is on my hands. Like, I'm gonna pass this on to Sarah Bond. Like, we've been training her up. We've been. Or not training her. We've been, like, propping her up, like, bringing her up to, like, take this shit over. I think it might be time.
Roger Py
Yeah.
Tim Gettys
Interesting fight. September.
Roger Py
September. This is TGS Times. Tokyo Game Show. Kingdom Hearts 4 revealed and a new Yakuza game. I know those are just falling out of Sega. I think it's not gonna. Maybe you see more Project Sentry eventually. That game, by the way, Project Century is going to be a y Yakuza game. It might not be actually called Yakuza Game, but it's going to be in the Lineage. We see of course Yakuza in it. But yeah, we're gonna see a new Yakuz game. It's gonna be led up by Kiryu, I'd assume. So I don't think we're gonna see Ichiban. He's not gonna be at least a main character or playable character. But yeah. Kingdom Hearts 4 revealed. Does that ring true to you, Tim?
Tim Gettys
Yes. So here's the thing. There's no D23 this year. It's every other year. So I would have said that that's where it was going to be. I do think that you're right. The Kingdom Hearts 4 will be at TGS this year. I do not know if that will be where it's revealed though. I think we're gonna see it sooner. I keep saying this, but I think the Kingdom Hearts force sooner than we think.
Roger Py
Like a PlayStation and Xbox. Keely.
Tim Gettys
Yeah. I mean it's been at every. At some point Xbox and PlayStation. Like hey, maybe it's at a Nintendo thing. I doubt it. But like with the Switch 2, right. Like I can imagine Switch 2 when they put out their list of partners. Like and especially with Square being like, hey, we want to be way more multi platform going forward. Like I can, can. I can imagine that. But yeah, I think we're going to see Kingdom Hearts 4 before that. But I. I think you're right that we will see it at tgs.
Roger Py
Okay, sounds good. The next two pretty safe. Ish. And then we have a banger, of course, the end. End of the year, October. This is straight from Blessing, so I stole this one from you. Until Dawn 2 releases. October makes sense. We're gonna. I think we're gonna get that reveal at the May PlayStation showcase and comes out in October. I was thinking in this list like where Resident Evil would come into play. I mean of course they don't release in October historically, so. But yeah, talking about horror, Until Dawn 2 releases in October and we're going to get that movie, I'm assume this year.
Andy Cortez
So yeah, for 2025.
Roger Py
That makes sense.
Andy Cortez
Release date. April 25th is apparently the release date.
Roger Py
Yeah. So then everyone can get so hype and buy that movie on Blu Ray and then play until dawn too.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yes, I agree. No notes.
Andy Cortez
It'll bomb in in theaters and they'll watch it on digital.
Tim Gettys
Yeah.
Roger Py
And it'll the number one movie in Netflix history.
Greg Miller
Sort of the highest of highs. Can I pull the train over real quick.
Andy Cortez
Sure.
Greg Miller
I guess you don't do that. You stop the train real quick. This is just an interesting thing. I had never heard about Tim. Have you ever heard about George A. Romero's Resident Evil?
Tim Gettys
Yeah, I never did.
Greg Miller
You know, I'm a big. I love, obviously, George Romero zombie movies. It's such a big deal for me. I had never heard about this in a press release came through the other day. There's a documentary dropping today about.
Tim Gettys
Yeah, this is like one of the Nick Cage Superman type situations.
Greg Miller
Yeah, yeah. And so, like, this is the official trailer I just sent over to Assets. I got a screener for it. I'm gonna watch it as soon as I can, but that's cool. I never heard about the fact that he. When they were getting ready, I guess to the original Resident Evil movie, he did like a treatment or a plan or whatever. And like, fuck, yeah. I can't wait to watch this. You know, I can't. This is one of those, like, how did this slip by me? Like, this is so video games and my favorite zombie director. I didn't know this. Like, it's on demand right now. I have no idea if the movie's good or bad, but. Or the documentary is good or bad. But I'm going to watch.
Roger Py
I got to watch.
Tim Gettys
Man. I remember seeing all of this. That's crazy. I. I'm pretty sure they ended up using this footage. Correct me if I'm wrong chat, but in the director's cut of Resident Evil 1 on PlayStation 1, I think so. I'm pretty sure they used this footage as the. The opening videos. And I remember Kevin's uncles, they had a PlayStation and they. They showed us and it scared the. The out of us. Like that. Those dogs in that. The forest in the beginning. Oh, my God.
Greg Miller
Thank you.
Tim Gettys
November.
Roger Py
November, new Call of Duty comes out and it sucks. This is going to. Yeah, no, this is gonna go.
Greg Miller
Thank God Phil left ahead of it.
Roger Py
This is gonna be the. Every other year we just have a good Call of Duty and then we have a bad call of duty.
Andy Cortez
21 million, exactly.
Roger Py
Still gonna sell insane amount of copies.
Tim Gettys
$750 million.
Roger Py
Modern Warfare 3 famously was a rushed out game. It was supposed to be DLC or an expansion of some sort for Modern Warfare 2. I don't necessarily think that's what's happening here, but for me, the vibes are like, we had a really great Call of Duty and we're just gonna make another one. Really.
Andy Cortez
Is this because it's Infinity War going Like Treyarch having Black Ops. And that seems to be where.
Roger Py
That's where they are. And then now we're making another. The idea, I think the rumor that I've heard is that we're making Black Ops 7 and it's going to be the future Black Ops. And I'm like, that feels weird and rushed and, like, I don't know why we're going old Black Ops, the new Black Ops. And then now we're gonna do. Call it.
Andy Cortez
I'm back, Kid Harrington.
Roger Py
Which one is he in?
Andy Cortez
He was in, like, advanced work. We should do Advanced wars, but don't bring back Kevin Spacey.
Roger Py
Oh.
Greg Miller
Oh, yeah.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Who's the vanguard developer? This Treyarch. It's Sledgehammer.
Andy Cortez
Thank you.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
They still doing mainline Call of Duties?
Andy Cortez
Yeah.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Are they up? Because if they're up, then I could see, like, not against nothing against that studio or nothing at Sledgehammer. Right. But it feels like they always get the short end of the stick as far as, like, you're either working on the one that's not Modern Warfare or Black Ops, or we're putting one of those games in your hand. You're gonna make like a side version of that. It's not gonna be as good.
Roger Py
Yeah, dude.
Andy Cortez
Let Raven make the whole fucking.
Roger Py
Dude, Raven's so good. Raven's so fucking good. But yeah, the last one, of course, December TGA Game Awards.
Andy Cortez
Heard of it.
Roger Py
Half Life three. Half Life, I think. I think Keely is riding this high, right? He is so hype and happy with the. With the reaction to game awards of last year. Everyone was so happy with it. They got an A on his little poll on Twitter that he does. That's a huge deal. That's usually like a circle, right? Like, the fact that every, like most gamers are like, even with this, a lot of haters. A lot of hater haters. And also the fact that there were rumors of Half Life 3 being there and it wasn't there and people were still like, this is fucking awesome. Like, this is an amazing showcase. He's riding that high and I don't think he wants to fucking get off that. That ship. I think he wants this to continue to go up and up and up. And I could see him looking at Valve and being like, please.
Tim Gettys
And Roger, I want this one. Everything that we said in our predictions episode for Game awards is still true. True. Steam OS is going to be a huge deal and they are investing heavily in it. Half Life 3 is happening. It's a matter of when. And I Do think that like. Yeah, that, that timing sounds good to me.
Greg Miller
Do you think Game Awards 2025 is gonna have. Is it going to benefit from the 10 out of 10 we just had or is it going to have a hangover?
Roger Py
Hangover.
Tim Gettys
Hangover, yeah. Yeah. I, I honestly, I don't think that Jeff would have got Intergalactic if it wasn't the ten year anniversary.
Greg Miller
Yeah.
Tim Gettys
And if Naughty Dog hadn't done Last of Us premiering there, like I think that was very much a. Jeff, I don't want to say begging. It's not that, but I do think it was like a play ball and PlayStation being like, you know what, we're going to play ball with you. Like we understand what this means and what it could mean for the industry. I think that I'd be so fascinated knowing what those actual conversations were. But I, I do think that there were things done out of the ordinary that was not the plan.
Greg Miller
I wonder how much they let him level up though. How much does that bring up that stock of game.
Tim Gettys
Saw the numbers. Right.
Roger Py
But I also wonder the negatives of the Game Awards, right? Because you have like so many games being announced there that things just inevitably we forgot about. Right. We have Team Eco's new game. We have Outer Worlds two which come. I kind of just forgot like a week later I was like, oh, that was announced. Like there's so many games that were there. There's so many bigger games that were announced. Witcher 4, intergalactic. Of course. Right. Like I, I wonder if the smaller teams or like the medium teams are like, I don't. Do I really want to be a part of this? Like, I don't know, like it doesn't. Is it really doing something for their brand? I don't know.
Andy Cortez
For the last year or so I've completely changed my tune when it comes to reacting to smaller presentations that maybe we may not have in the past, but when we do them, I just, my immediate thought is I'm glad that I watched this kind of mid trailer or whatever because there's so many games that I would have forgotten about otherwise and there's so many games that I didn't even know existed and now they're on my radar whether they're gigantic or small indie titles. So I don't. For me it's like even the games like, you know, from the Eco devs or whatever, all that stuff is still completely useful for them.
Roger Py
Okay, yeah, just asking, just asking.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
So fuck off with that.
Roger Py
I'm sorry, I didn't see the future.
Andy Cortez
I keep on wanting to sing Radioactive, but with the intergalactic.
Roger Py
And that is my year.
Tim Gettys
Fantastic.
Roger Py
Thank you so much.
Tim Gettys
Honestly, great job. Roger. That was very, very, very good. Fantastic episode. Great discussion. But really, really good predictions with a lot of work put into them. Like, I feel like there's. There's good stuff there. Got a couple super chats I want to get.
Greg Miller
Super chats.
Tim Gettys
We got guzzling King David, Twizzy.
Andy Cortez
Jesus.
Tim Gettys
It keeps going, y'all. Who says it's 2025 and I'm moister than an old oyster?
Roger Py
Yeah.
Greg Miller
Yes, yes. All around. 10 out of 10.
Tim Gettys
And then we got dear Sixlet saying, I've been saving the Pokemon Violet DLC for the supposed Switch 2 version and patch due to the poor performance. Any day now, Nintendo.
Roger Py
Yeah, it's not happening.
Tim Gettys
Yeah, man. I don't know that these games are.
Roger Py
Just gonna get back Pokemon. They ain't worrying about that.
Andy Cortez
I think they just move on.
Tim Gettys
And then Jeff Bull Jr says Sonic Heroes was a big meh. Sonic Adventure 2 remake was with Chow Gardens needed. Come on, Sonic team, calm down. We'll see.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Calm down. Sonic Heroes is great, man.
Andy Cortez
I played a lot of Sonic Adventure. Is it crazy?
Roger Py
Yeah, I replayed it recently. L replayed it and I kind of watched and it made me think the.
Andy Cortez
Word chaos was chaos.
Tim Gettys
It's. Why. Why is it chows but Chaos Emeralds?
Andy Cortez
Yeah.
Tim Gettys
Why would they do that to me as a boy reading these magazines, it's just a boy.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Like a Chow garden without the U.S. and so, like, you should know.
Andy Cortez
Exactly.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
It's chow.
Andy Cortez
God, man, look at all those chaos out there.
Tim Gettys
