Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Three adventurers enter into a trivia dungeon. We'll have to work together to survive. Get ready for game showdown. Yo, what's up? Welcome to game showdown. I'm your host Blessing Adio Yea junior. And I'm joined by three contestants representing three teams. We got Tim Geddes representing team Orange.
Tim Geddes
Blue will be mine.
Mike Howard
I don't know how.
Tim Geddes
I don't know when. And I literally mean that. I don't know how this happened. I don't know how he has this. But somehow I'll get it back one day.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
We have the returning champion, Breg Miller representing team Blue, the man who led.
Greg Miller
Team Blue to a three peat. Then of course, an exhibition win in the Nick Scarpino Johnny Ace competition. Let's not forget season 13 winner. A kind of beauty. All right. It's who can forget precedented run over here. Bless. And I'm excited to for compete for team Blue this year.
Tim Geddes
Greg's been talking shit for so long about all this stuff that I saw a good amount of people that thought that they're like maybe Tim's finally going to win a season. And I'm like, I won multiple seasons, successfully trumpified wins and is claiming them for himself and y'.
Mike Howard
All.
Greg Miller
Who has the belt? Who has the belt? What have I lied about? I have led team Blue championship.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I think it's the word lead.
Mike Howard
Yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
We also got Andy Cortez representing team. However, Andy, Team Purple is announcing a little bit of a change in leadership today. Do you want to talk to us about that? Yes.
Barrett
You know, it was, it was a lot of fun being able to lead Team Purple for so long. And, and as many of you all know, I've been very vocal about wanting to take time and step back and be with my family, you know, and. And just kind of get away from a lot of the noise of game showdown and how it stresses me out, you know, weekly. And you know, I will miss the show, of course.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Barrett
But more importantly, you know, it's.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
This is all about.
Barrett
I don't want to do this alone. So I'd like to welcome to the stage the second half of Team Purple. Welcome to the stage.
Mike Howard
Come on, Coach Mike. Come on, Coach Mike. Yeah, Tim.
Greg Miller
Now, Andy called me.
Mike Howard
Yeah, Tim, I'm here now. Okay. Andy called me. He said, mike, I'll buy you a hamburger and a lemonade if you show up today. And I said, andy, for you, anything. Roger. Take that.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I'm kidding. Yeah.
Mike Howard
You're looking at two apex predators here. Two men in their prime, two trivia Contestants that are like sharks in the water, waiting for their moment to strike. Okay, we're talking lions in the jungle. Greg Miller. And we're on your scent. We're here on the trail. And I'm so happy to help my best friend come out here and win and take over game showdown like it deserves to be. Andy Cortez on top with coach Mike's help.
Barrett
Come on.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Wow.
Greg Miller
Wow.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh, Mike will be sitting in. Mike will be sitting in. For this episode, Team Purple is being represented by two best friends. That is Mike, Howard and Andy.
Greg Miller
Do they play at the same time?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
They do not play at the same time. I have ground rules.
Mike Howard
You're lucky.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Because I want to keep everybody.
Tim Geddes
I want everyone to be quiet. Explains the ground rules.
Mike Howard
That will not change. Will not be shaken up. Okay? Will not be. I'm in a room full of hooligans. Everybody, everybody quiet up. Listen to me heavily. Breathe into the microphone. Okay?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Only one player, Only one player is allowed on an episode at a time to play that episode at a time. That's first and foremost. Secondly, no helping each other mid episode.
Mike Howard
All right, no signs from the dugout.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
No, I want no signs from the dugout. If I look, if Andy's sitting back there and I see any sort of non verbal communication, I'm kicking him out. If I.
Mike Howard
If I'm asking, what if he's just scratching his ear?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I'm kicking him out.
Mike Howard
I have itchy ears. What if he's just dusting his elbow?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I'm kicking him out. Nothing I want.
Greg Miller
No, they should. You have to wait in the kitchen.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
And then also, no mid episode switching. There's not going to be some kind of like, you know, okay, let me tag out round 10. I'm in. I'm not great at critical hit. I'm going to tag out bringing.
Greg Miller
So once someone commits to the episode, they're committed to the episode.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
You're committed to the episode.
Greg Miller
I appreciate that.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Purple's going to win.
Mike Howard
I'm not even listening, Tim. We're already ready to win.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
And I'm adding another ground rule. Just no cheating whatsoever. I got to say that when Mike's here, no cheating on this show. I will not have it. I work too hard on this.
Mike Howard
I've learned from the best.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
All right. F crit faincy critic runs itself.
Greg Miller
That's what I'm talking about right here.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
This show I work hard on. And so there will be no cheating here. Those are the ground rules. Now, contestants, today, I don't have a warm up question for you like I usually do.
Greg Miller
Don't need it.
Mike Howard
I'm already hot.
Greg Miller
We're ready. I like this guy.
Mike Howard
Jim, are you ready to get dominated?
Tim Geddes
Oh, man, there's two of them.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I like the energy today. Now sucks.
Greg Miller
His kid's gonna come out and know his dad's a loser.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Instead of a warm up question instead. I want you guys to choose your character class. Here are your choices. You can choose to be the warrior, the guardian, or the rogue. I'm not going to explain beyond that. Greg, I was going to start with you anyway. Greg Miller is going to be the rogue. Let's move on to Mike Howard, Warrior. Mike Howard will be the warrior, which means that Tim Geddes will be the guardian for this episode. Roger, if you can pass out the character sheets, we're going to keep these face down for now. Put them face down for now. Now for season four newcomers, you might be asking, what is Game Showdown? How does, how does this work? Well, each week we're playing a nerdy trivia game to decide who is this season champion. Each episode, the winner of the week receives a star. Whoever receives the most stars by the end of the season receives the kind of funny world championship belt. It is easy as that. Do you have any questions, contestants?
Greg Miller
I just have a request. Andy, since you have all this free time now, can you Amazon a belt holder? A championship belt holder. They got that nice one at WWE that they put it on so it stands up. I'd like this to stand up.
Mike Howard
And if you can order right now.
Greg Miller
It'S looking like Tim in bed, if you know what I mean.
Mike Howard
Order two of those because when you and I win at the end of the season, we're gonna need two belt holders.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Over here.
Mike Howard
Andy, get two of them.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Remember, this is kind of Funny Game Showdown. Kind of funny's nerdy game show that you can watch live right here on twitch and on YouTube. Today we're brought to you by Shady Rays and Factor, but we'll tell you about that later. For now, let's play Rogue Robin. Now usually Rogue Robin is a competitive game where if you give an incorrect answer, you. You lose all your points. However, last season there was quite a bit of tension between players, a lot of antagonism between you guys. And so today, we're not just playing Rogue Robin, we're playing Rogue Robin campaign mode. It is a co op PvE experience where you all have to work together to slay monsters and each earn a star. The rules are simple. You three are adventurers entering a trivia dungeon. Each round, I'll give you a question. You have your buzzers that you'll use to buzz in and answer said question. As a team, you can buzz in once per round. If you give the correct answer, that is 10 points. If you give an incorrect answer, you will receive damage, which will be decided by a dice roll. That's why each of you have dice in front of you. Right now. You three need 300 cumulative points to open the door to the final boss of the dungeon. Now, I'm gonna explain the classes for you. You can flip over your pieces of paper. Those are your character sheets explaining what your classes do. Starting off with the Warrior. And who's the warrior? Mike Howard, you're the warrior. When you buzz in, you make double the points. The Guardian. Who's the Guardian? I believe that's Tim Geddes. Tim, when you buzz in, you take half the damage.
Greg Miller
Rogue. Yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
The rogue is Greg Miller. If you buzz in, you have the option to roll your dice for the correct answer. Now, there's some ground rules to this one. Me and the Rogue will both roll dice. If the Rogue ties or rolls higher than me, I'll give you the correct answer. If you lose the roll, you still get a chance to guess. You can only do this a total of three times per episode. I have special dice for you, rogue.
Barrett
And question. Blessing. Am I putting 100 points on the board for each of them right now?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
No. They all start from zero. They all start from zero because they're working their way up to to 300.
Barrett
Just want to make make sure.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Now you're already. You're already coming close to breaking the points.
Greg Miller
My guy.
Barrett
Man, I love you. I love you, Mike. You're my best friend.
Mike Howard
Yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
You're my number one.
Barrett
Number one.
Mike Howard
1.1.
Barrett
You were listening to all the rules, right?
Mike Howard
Listen to all of it. They said leave your teammates behind. Go down the route of the dungeon alone, solo camp. This lone wolf.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
It perfect.
Greg Miller
Sounds great.
Mike Howard
Got it.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Now, I know I'm throwing a lot at you. This will make sense as we go. So to repeat, Warrior, when you buzz in, you make double the points. Guardian, when you buzz in, you take half the damage. Rogue, if you buzz in, you have the option to roll your dice a correct Answer.
Greg Miller
How many questions are there?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I'm not going to tell you that. Contestants, are you ready?
Mike Howard
Question.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Do we have any more questions? Actually, I know I threw a lot.
Greg Miller
At you, pressing none of my eyes. Weird.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Remember, you're working together here.
Greg Miller
You're a team.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
The overall goal is to get 300 points to open the door to the final boss.
Tim Geddes
Let's do it.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
All right. Sounds like we got no questions. Let's start. Adventurers, you three enter a dungeon underneath a castle in the land of Kwyzia. In the search for the evil force, Count Rongula. To defeat him and obtain the stars in his possession, Count Rongula controls monsters, ninjas, and a variety of minions. As you enter the dungeon, you're greeted by one of his minions, Musico, who has been sent to take you out. Which one of you will buzz in to face him?
Greg Miller
It's gotta be Timmy.
Mike Howard
Tim.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Tim's going to buzz in. Now, Tim, remember, because you are the Guardian, when you buzz in, you take half the damage and a note. Here you all can work together. And so when I ask you the question, you're allowed to speak. You're allowed to help each other out. But whoever buzzed in is the one that's giving the final answer. Okay, so round number one goes like this. Which composer who scored the recently released Sword of the Sea made history by scoring the first video game soundtrack to be nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Score Soundtrack for Visual Media?
Tim Geddes
Genova Chen.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Tim says Genova Chen. That is incorrect. The answer, Tim, you guys are from. Yeah, the answer is Austin Winery.
Mike Howard
I knew that, too.
Tim Geddes
So stupid.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Austin Winery for Journey, the game developer. Andy's upset about that.
Mike Howard
Damn it.
Tim Geddes
I fucked that up.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Now, for context, usually here we would roll to take damage. You guys have zero on the board.
Greg Miller
And so there'll be no damage. That's embarrass. It's like, Greg, here's a chicken wing question. I'm like, I don't know, vegan. Like, what are we talking about?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
What are we talking about here? Now, you stumbled up on Musico, but he also has backup. The blue slime, the red slime, and the green slime. Each of you can only buzz in once. For each of these, we'll start off with the green slime, who will buzz in.
Greg Miller
I'll go for it. All right.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Greg's going for it. Greg. This is round number two. In 2001, during the reveal of the original Xbox, a famous pro wrestler appeared alongside a Microsoft executive to unveil the console. Who was the wrestler and The Microsoft executive, of course.
Greg Miller
This was the Rock Dwayne Johnson alongside Bill Gates.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
That is correct. That is 10 points on the board for Team Blue and also 10 points overall for the crew here. Next up is the Blue Slime, who will buzz in. Of course you can discuss this.
Greg Miller
Yeah, it's gonna be a PlayStation 1, right? I think we've cracked the code here. Yeah. We can all work together.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
So remember, you can talk, you can discuss this.
Greg Miller
We crack the code Purple, what do you buzz?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
If you buzz, I get double the points.
Greg Miller
Okay, go ahead and buzz in and we'll help you.
Mike Howard
Yeah, of course.
Greg Miller
You don't know shit about PlayStation, idiot.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
This is Red Dead. This is round number three. The PlayStation 2 had a beefy software launch lineup with a grand total of 29 titles. One of these titles was also the debut of EA's sub brand, EA Sports Big, which PS2 launch game was also the first EA Sports Big game.
Mike Howard
Wow. Guys, you know, let's talk about it.
Tim Geddes
Tim, I know you know it well.
Greg Miller
You can just talk. We can say we can talk about it.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah, your team here.
Greg Miller
Oh, it was SS Adam Brown. Adam Brown.
Mike Howard
I remember the Warrior will answer now.
Greg Miller
Jesus.
Mike Howard
I would like to say SSX.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Mike says SSX. SSX is the correct answer. That is 20 points because Mike is the Warrior Purple. The last one is the Red Slime. Of course, Tim is the only one who hasn't buzzed in for the Slimes.
Greg Miller
This man made Mario.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Tim, you'll need to buzz in for this one. Round number four, select Super Nintendo games such as Star Fox and Stunt Race FX used a CO processor to facilitate advanced 2D and 3D graphics. What was the fancy name Nintendo gave this piece of tech?
Tim Geddes
The Super FX chip.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Tim, you've redeemed yourself. That is the correct answer. That's 10 points for Tim.
Mike Howard
A lot of lone wolf activity for Tim coming on right now.
Greg Miller
Yeah, I mean, well, you know, it's going to be these Nintendo questions. You got to do it.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
That'll be A total of 40 points so far for the team in your journey to gain 300.
Greg Miller
Why are we. I thought it was a team. I thought it was cumulative points.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
It is cumulative points, but the individual points do matter. You'll get there. There's math.
Greg Miller
I feel like that was left out. I didn't hear that.
Mike Howard
I thought it was all a team thing.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah, Well, I guess the way to explain it is if you get an incorrect answer, your own points are the ones getting docked. And so there's strategy around that. We'll get There when we get there.
Greg Miller
I don't like that. I don't like that one bit.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Now, after that harrowing encounter, you all continue along the path and come across a room. It's called the silent room. Now, as you three enter, there it is. You hear an ominous disembodied voice Speak and say, only whoever buzzes in may speak while you remain in this room. If you speak and don't buzz in, you'll lose all your points. All of a sudden, out of nowhere, appears a group of ninjas. Round number five. I'm gonna give you one sentence. Clues for video game ninjas. Your task is to buzz in for each clue and tell me what the name of this ninja character is. Each correct answer is worth 10 points. Contestants, are you ready? They're nodding their head. You've already caught on. First one. This ninja is a human dragon hybrid who wields an ancestral weapon called the dragon sword. Tim Gettys.
Tim Geddes
Ryu Hayabusa.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
That is correct. That is 10 points right there for Tim Gettys. The next one. This ninja is the leader of the Manji clan and appears as a regular in two separate game series. He's the leader of the Manji clan and appears as a regular in two separate game series. Now, remember, you cannot speak during this round. Mike is taken out. Wait, is that sword really a pen? Oh, okay. He's doing some kind of, like, I imagine some kind of communication here or he's just trying to figure it out. Now, somebody has to buzz in here. Tim is buzzing in.
Tim Geddes
Yoshi Mitsu.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Tim says Yoshimitsu. That is correct. That is 10 more points on the board there. Round three. This ninja is part of the Lin Kuei clan and possesses the ability to control ice.
Mike Howard
Mike, who is sub zero.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Sub zero is the correct answer. That's 20 points because Mike is the warrior. Next up, next up. This purple ninja blends in as part of a chaotic crew. This purple ninja blends in as part of a chaotic crew. Nobody's confident. Here we go. Greg Miller. Greg is going to use one of his dice to roll. Now, the way this works, Greg rolled a three. I roll against Greg. So if I roll lower than a three, not going to get the right answer or I'm not going to give you the answer. Sorry. If you win the roll against me, I might. I might have messed that up. If you win this role, I'm going to give you the right answer is what I'm saying. All right. The correct answer there is going to be Espio the chameleon. That is 10 points to Greg Miller. Thank you. Thank you. Next up, this frog like ninja can sense enemies using its tongue.
Mike Howard
Mike, who is the Pokemon Greninja?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
That is correct. That is 20 more points right there for Mike Howard. Last one. This ninja uses a harp to teach the protagonist several songs throughout the game. Greg Miller. He's gonna roll. He's gonna roll again. Greg rolls a three and I rolled a three. A tie does count as a win for you. And so the answer there is sheik. That is 10 points on the board for Greg Miller, who used already two of his dice there. Two out of three contestants. You survived the silent room. And as you three exit, you get a moment to breathe and relax. Adventurers, how do you feel so far on your journey?
Greg Miller
My eyes hurt so bad. The mask just put so much pressure on my eyeballs.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh, you decided to take it off.
Greg Miller
Yeah, I had to take them off. I might have done permanent damage here.
Tim Geddes
Yeah, this is tied on my head. I'm feeling my blood kind of rush.
Greg Miller
Get stuck in there.
Tim Geddes
I also like that Mike couldn't write with this because it is a letter opener, not a pen yet. He was trying to write an entire essay. What were you trying to write?
Mike Howard
I wrote Street Fighter. Tim, I was hoping for you to help Street Fighter. Good Lord.
Tim Geddes
And also Kininga.
Mike Howard
I got close, you know, I got caught up. I've had a lot of hamburgers and french fries today. I'm a little slow.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Now your relaxation is cut short as you're approached by a formidable creature called a Point Sucker. Adventurers, I need each of you to roll your die. What you guys get 6.
Mike Howard
5.
Barrett
Spike just re rolled.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I'm just gonna call that out.
Mike Howard
I got a one blessing.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Mike, I will kick you off season. Don't me on this mic.
Greg Miller
He had a five. Six. No, no. That's when he rerolled. Listen, let Bear do his job. All right, Tim, So we got a six.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
A one six. So that's gonna be a 13. All right. The point sucker sucks 20 damage, 20 points from each of you and also sucks away your special abilities. However, one adventurer can gain all those points back by slaying the point sucker. Which of you will buzz in?
Greg Miller
Greg Miller, I rise to this occasion. Come here, you fucking sucker. I got something you can suck now. Shit out my ass.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Now that is 20. 20 points from each of you. Each of you is what the Point sucker took away. Greg Miller. If this question, this round, you guys get correct, you will then get 60 points.
Greg Miller
Now we're back to being the Team, or is it just me?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
We're back to being a team.
Greg Miller
Got it.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
But the 60 points will go into your pool.
Greg Miller
Got it. Got it, Got it, Got it. Got it.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Greg will get your points back is what I'm saying.
Greg Miller
Okay, let's do this like Atlanta, 1996.
Mike Howard
Come on, now.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Now, under you is a whiteboard. I'm going to need to bust that out. This is round number six.
Greg Miller
Just one for the team.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Just one for the team.
Greg Miller
Got it.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
And, Greg, I'm happy that you buzzed in for this one, because this is one for a Pokemon expert. Of course, you guys can work together here, but you will be the one writing down the answers here.
Greg Miller
Sure.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Now, in Pokemon Red, Blue, and Yellow, there are eight gym leaders you need to defeat, located in eight different cities throughout the game. On the screen, Bear is going to bring it up. You'll see the name of the eight gym leaders in cities. You have a minute on the clock to match up the gym leaders with the correct cities.
Greg Miller
Got it.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Your time will start as soon as Barret brings it up.
Greg Miller
Go, Tim.
Tim Geddes
Brock is Pewter. Misty is Cerulean. Erika is Celadon. Giovanni's Ver.
Greg Miller
Eric.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Sorry.
Tim Geddes
Erica is Celadon. Koga is Fuchsia. Sabrina is Saffron. Lieutenant. Serge is Viridian. Sorry, Vermilion. And Giovanni is Viridian.
Greg Miller
Giovanni is Viridian. Who is Vader?
Tim Geddes
Lieutenant surge is Vermillion. And Blaine is Cinnabar Island.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah. 15 seconds left.
Greg Miller
Okay.
Mike Howard
Good job, Tim. Good job, Greg.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh, and you don't even need the rest of the time. Read that out to me one more time.
Greg Miller
So pewter. So I did it the opposite way. So Brock is Pewter.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Okay.
Greg Miller
Missy is Cerulean. Erika is Celiadon. How do I say?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Celadon?
Greg Miller
Celadon. Thank you.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Okay.
Greg Miller
Koga is Fuchsia. Sabrina is Saffron. Lieutenant. Surge is Ver. Vermilion. Giovanni is Viridian. And then Blaine, right? Yeah. Blaine is Cinnabar Island.
Barrett
Can we see your work?
Greg Miller
You sure can. Thank you. Wow. You imagine if I memorize that?
Tim Geddes
Yeah. Can you imagine?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh, these are. These are all my new generation of Pokemon fans. I remember a lot of points that are at stake here. There's 60 points floating. Thankfully, that is the correct job. Greg Miller, that takes you from 10 here, going up to 70, because Greg's gonna get all those points back in every way.
Mike Howard
It's called teamwork, Tim.
Greg Miller
Oh, yeah. Let us make the dream work, Tim. Now, much like our country, Tim, we've been at each other's Throats too long. We've been split right down the middle. But this season four is our chance to bring us together and the country.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
All right, now you've made much progress through the dungeon, navigating a maze like path until you reach a big open room. It's empty. Almost too empty. Out of nowhere, a gigantic spider like enemy drops from the ceiling. His name is Metacrisis. And this is a mini boss fight round number seven. You guys are familiar with the rules? From here on, correct answers are worth 20 points. And I'm not asking questions, but to the group, these are tailored questions for each contestant and nobody is allowed to help. Okay, now for the fight against Metacrisis. This is how it's going to go. I'm going to name three games that share the same franchise. Your job is to tell me which of these three games have the highest Metacritic.
Greg Miller
I hate this.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
We're going to.
Greg Miller
We're not ordering them. Just tell you which is the best.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Just tell me which has the highest metacritic. We're gonna start off with Greg Miller. Greg, your games are Batman, Arkham Knight, Batman, Arkham Shadow, and Lego Batman DC superheroes.
Greg Miller
Oh, you threw me through a loop there. Okay, okay, so Batman, Arkham Knight.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
You said Batman, Arkham Knight, Arkham Shadow, Arkham Shadow, and Lego Batman DC Superhero.
Greg Miller
I'm a dirty little.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
And for the record, your abilities have returned post the point sucker situation.
Greg Miller
Oh, so I still have the one dice if I want to roll. Yeah, I'm always bad at this. All rolling.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
All right.
Greg Miller
I still get to answer if I. If I lose.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
If you lose it, you still get to answer. Greg rolls.
Greg Miller
God damn it.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Another three.
Greg Miller
What the.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
And I roll a six, meaning you just wasted that rule.
Greg Miller
So I'm gonna do. I don't think I wasted. I mean, I just used it.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I mean, you used it, but you gotta, you know, you know, you're not, you know, Batman.
Greg Miller
I'm doing Lego Batman.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Greg says Lego Batman.
Greg Miller
One of these. That is shadow, though.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Incorrect. What? That means this is your guys's first. Well, I guess second incorrect answer. But first incorrect answer with points. Greg, me and you're both gonna roll dice.
Greg Miller
Okay.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Depending on how this roll goes, you're gonna lose the amount of points.
Greg Miller
See if I get a three again. Right?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I rolled a three, Greg rolls a four. You're not going to lose any points. Actually, zero points.
Tim Geddes
Love that.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
The correct answer there would have been Batman, Arkham Knight. Arkham Knight has an 87 on Metacritic. Arkham Shadow, 85. Then Lego Batman or sorry. Yeah. Lego Batman, DC Superheroes has an 81. Tim, you're up next.
Tim Geddes
Let's go.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Your games are Kirby and the Forgotten Land. Kirby, Planet Robobot, and Kirby's Epic Yarn.
Tim Geddes
You chose good ones for this. I'm gonna go Robobot.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Tim says Kirby, Planet Robobot. That is incorrect. The correct answer would have been Kirby's Epic Yarn. Surprisingly enough, that is sitting on Metacritic with an 86. Forgotten Land has an 85 and Planet RoboBot has an 81. Tim, I'm going to need you to roll your dice now. Thankfully, Tim is the Guardian, meaning he will take half the damage depending on how this roll goes.
Mike Howard
Five.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Tim's rolled a five. I rolled a one. Meaning you're not going to take any damage. Luckily enough.
Tim Geddes
Thank God.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Mike, you're the last one here for this.
Mike Howard
Let's do this.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Your games are Battlefield 3.
Greg Miller
Nice.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Battlefield 1 and Battlefield Bad Company 2.
Mike Howard
Great offerings. Bless.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Thank you.
Mike Howard
I'll go with Battlefield 1.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Mike says Battlefield 1. That is incorrect. Battlefield 3 would have been the correct answer for. For that. Battlefield 3 has a Metacritic of 89. The other two have an 88.
Greg Miller
Wow.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Metacritic. Mike, roll that dice.
Greg Miller
Three.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
You got a three.
Greg Miller
A one.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I got a four. Mike, you're going to lose 20 points there. Now you three have fought valiantly, the Metacrisis defeated. However, there is more adventure left. You approach the door on the other side. Sorry. You approach the door on the other side of the big empty room that you're in. And you open it with a key dropped by the mini boss. And what's on the other side is a creature unlike anything you've ever seen. Now you'll hear about. After a word from our sponsors, this.
Greg Miller

Blessing Adeoye Jr.
And we're back. Barrett, can I get a score recap from you right now? The score is.
Barrett
Cumulatively together, this team, working together, forging friendships, forging bonds together as a team is at, I believe a total of 120 points. But if we want to divide them up right now, in last place, not carrying their weight in the team is team orange.
Greg Miller
That's a lot of weight with only.
Barrett
10 points right now in, you know, kind of middle of the road but carrying enough of the weight, filling in or you know, now, co captain of purple is snow bike Mike Howard. Coach Mike with 40 points and doing the most for the team today is Greg Miller with team blue with 70 points.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I am getting a correction from the audience. It seems like Mike didn't lose the 20.
Mike Howard
Yeah, well, yeah, I'm getting the correction from the audience too. You gave Greg 60 points when me and Tim should have got our points back.
Greg Miller
No, no, no.
Barrett
Greg gets the cumulative points back.
Mike Howard
We're not happy about it.
Barrett
So wait, Mike lost 20 at one point.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Mike lost the 20 points during the boss fight.
Barrett
Okay. The mini boss. Okay, sorry.
Greg Miller
Thank you.
Tim Geddes
I appreciate it.
Mike Howard
Trying to give us our points back.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Which means cumulatively you're sitting at 100 points even. Remember going for 300 points at the end of this.
Greg Miller
Yeah. And so I'm doing my best here. Bless.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I mean, Greg, you're carrying.
Greg Miller
Thank you.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
You're carrying.
Greg Miller
Thank you everybody.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Now, after that treacherous encounter, you three are greeted by a little guy companion. His name. Round. Round the robin. He's a helper with a special ability, the ability to re roll your dice. Now you can only activate this once, so use this ability wisely.
Greg Miller
So this is round the Robin.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Round the robin, yes.
Greg Miller
Is he the mascot that shows up during round robin?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
You know, who knows?
Greg Miller
Round the robin. Robin.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
He's the round. He's the round. He's the round robin. Robin. Yeah. Round robin.
Greg Miller
Okay. Cool, cool.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Now your encounter with a friendly creature is cut short as a speedy enemy from the shadows zooms past your squad. Who will buzz in to face a fast enemy. Mike will buzz in.
Greg Miller
Fastest one on the team.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Round number eight. Sonic Heroes was the first game in the franchise allowing you to take control of teams of characters from the Sonic the Hedgehog universe. Teams included Team Sonic, led by Sonic. Team Rose, led by Amy Rose. And Team Chaotix, which comprised of the Chaotix crew. What was the name of the team led by Shadow the Hedgehog? Remember, you can discuss this.
Mike Howard
This is cool, Tim, because I was just thinking about this video game recently. I was lying in bed thinking, man.
Greg Miller
That'S lying in bed.
Mike Howard
So many cool teams, groups. Yeah, Shadow.
Tim Geddes
I mean, you know, Team Shadow is the. Is the easy go to here.
Greg Miller
What was the name of Sonic's team?
Mike Howard
Team Sonic.
Tim Geddes
Team Sonic.
Greg Miller
Oh, it was Team Sonic.
Mike Howard
And then there was Team Amy.
Tim Geddes
But for some reason I, I remember being Team Dark.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Team Rose was Amy's team. Just for the record, I like that.
Tim Geddes
For some reason I remember I'm thinking Team Dark.
Greg Miller
Go for it. I got nothing.
Tim Geddes
Yeah, that's, that's what I'm gonna go with.
Mike Howard
We as adventurers will select Team Dark.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Mike says Team Dark. The correct answer is Team Dark.
Mike Howard
Just him.
Greg Miller
Fuck yes.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Big time earning back that 20 points right there. Now, after that encounter, another fast villain swoops by, this time in a vehicle. Who will buzz in? Mike will buzz in again trying to get those big points. I appreciate not even consulting your teammates.
Mike Howard
It's a team thing. It's a team thing.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
This brings us to round number nine. Which popular 1982 racing game spawned ports, sequels and a Saturday morning cartoon featuring a family of stunt driving crime fighters.
Mike Howard
Oh, okay, let's talk about it. Cruising Exotica. You know what I mean? Pretty cool.
Tim Geddes
Game Spy Hunter. That's the thing.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Tim Geddes
Right.
Greg Miller
We're in the arcade.
Tim Geddes
1982. That's the. The only thing that comes to mind. And there was a show. Right. But stunt drivers. That doesn't sound right.
Mike Howard
Like how Robin was.
Tim Geddes
Can you repeat it again?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah. Which popular 1982 racing game spawned ports, sequels, and a Saturday morning cartoon featuring a family of stunt driving crime fighters?
Tim Geddes
I'm comfortable. Spy Hunter.
Mike Howard
I like that as well. We as adventurers, will select Spy Hunter.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Spy Hunter is incorrect. Mike, roll that dice for me. What'd you get?
Mike Howard
One. I'll reroll and.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh, you're gonna use the round of the robin to reroll the one you.
Greg Miller
Sorry.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Go ahead and reroll. I rolled a two for the record, so you're gonna want higher than a two.
Mike Howard
Six.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
All right, There you go. You're gonna skate by with. With no lost points. No gained points, but no lost points.
Greg Miller
What was the game?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh, the game was Pole Position.
Tim Geddes
Had a cartoon.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yep.
Greg Miller
Cool. I don't know that about.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
About a family of stunt driving crime.
Greg Miller
Fighters Nick Scarpino probably watched on his way to college.
Mike Howard
So old.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Hold on, I'm checking the thing from Roger wrote in, said, shouldn't Mike get double the points for the last round? We did give you double the points, right? Yeah.
Barrett
Because now it's just back to 10 points for normal.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
And then.
Barrett
Yeah, it's 20.
Mike Howard
Thanks.
Barrett
Yeah, it was only the mini points. It was only the mini boss. That was like 20 points.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah. Thank you for keeping us honest. So he's.
Barrett
He's at the right score right now.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Now, you may have survived an attack from a quick enemy, however unnoticed. A ninja gets the jump on the warrior and holds a knife to his neck and says, you all killed my clan. Now is my revenge. Only the Guardian and the Rogue can buzz in to answer here, though if you answer wrong, the warrior gets hurt. The warrior is not allowed to speak this round. Who will buzz in?
Greg Miller
His fate's in my hands.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
That brings us to round number 10. Hiryu is the name of a Capcom protagonist and one of the most skilled members of an elite team of ninja, like mercenaries. He is the star of his own series, Strider, but has made an appearance in every single iteration of which other CapCom franchise?
Tim Geddes
Marvel versus Capcom.
Greg Miller
Yeah, right. That's what I was thinking too. Some kind of Capcom fighter.
Tim Geddes
Wait, but I don't think he was an infinite.
Greg Miller
What about Fatal Fury? Fatal Fury's always got crossovers. And.
Tim Geddes
Was he an infinite? I'm seeing him in three in my head. I think that might be the answer. That's the. That's the safest bet I have.
Greg Miller
We, as adventurers playing for our friend's Life, say Marvel vs. Capcom.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Marvel vs. Capcom is the correct answer. That's 10 points on the board. I'm going to chime in with some pieces of advice. You guys gotta talk to each other. Now, the strategy here would be to think about your level of confidence for these questions. Because if you think you're not gonna get this question, I would say, hey, Guardian, you might want to buzz in if you feel like you're confident. I'll say, hey, Warrior, you should buzz in. I'm just gonna throw that out there.
Greg Miller
I'm just gonna throw out there too. We don't tell you how to host the fucking show. Don't tell us how to play the fucking show.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Listen, 300 points, a lot of points to get to. I'm just saying, okay?
Greg Miller
Doing my part.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Now, this ninja encounter was chaotic, but you've made it through. However, within the chaos, you're being watched. Count Rongula has caught wind of your efforts.
Greg Miller
He's jerking it while we do it.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
And sent the Quiz Snatcher to capture the Guardian. Guardian, I'm gonna need you to roll your dice.
Tim Geddes
Oh.
Mike Howard
Six.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Wow. The Guardian fights off the quiz.
Greg Miller
Punch him in the face.
Mike Howard
Kick him in the nose. Three points.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
And you're all able to participate in this round together. For the record, I needed you to roll six there as the. As the thing. If you didn't, you would have been going into this round alone. But thankfully, you guys still remain a team. For round number 11, I have a list of evil corporations from various video game worlds. It is your job to tell me which game each corporation is from. First one, Ryan Industries.
Mike Howard
Now, really quick, if you know it, let me answer it. For double the point.
Greg Miller
Every one of them.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yes.
Mike Howard
One of you two do it. So you can still roll your dice because I lost my re roll already. Ryan Industries. Oh. Oh, yeah.
Greg Miller
Andrew Ryan runs it. You know, I don't remember being Ryan. I don't either though, right? I was thinking, what's the dude in Split Fiction? Oh, remember that? He was Smarbie.
Tim Geddes
Was he Ryan?
Mike Howard
I don't know.
Greg Miller
Yeah, yeah.
Tim Geddes
I'm not confident.
Greg Miller
Wait till we get to Miles Morales. Like, who's the guy that Topher Grace was by? Played by Troy Baker.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I do.
Tim Geddes
Like your. Your Split Fiction. That's.
Greg Miller
I. Yeah. So now we gotta talk to each other. You take the half damage. Is that the deal?
Mike Howard
I take half damage, he takes Half damage. I get double points, though, for confidence.
Greg Miller
We're not confident. I'd say yes.
Tim Geddes
Split fiction.
Greg Miller
Yeah. I mean, again, though, it's just. I don't remember in Bioshock there being a lot of like, oh, it's.
Tim Geddes
I'm with you.
Mike Howard
I played that recently, too.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
All right, who's gonna buzz in? Tim's buzzing. And what's your answer?
Tim Geddes
Split fiction.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Split fiction is incorrect. The correct answer would have been Bioshock.
Greg Miller
Damn it. Really? I just don't remember that. Go.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Go ahead and roll that dice for me.
Mike Howard
Oh, win that dice roll, though.
Greg Miller
3.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I rolled a 1. You're gonna lose zero points. You're not gonna get points for that. Next up, Cerberus. Cerberus.
Tim Geddes
I just noticed there's, like, dungeon sound effects.
Greg Miller
Yeah.
Tim Geddes
Yeah, I like that.
Greg Miller
Yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Trying to immerse you.
Mike Howard
Watch dog. What's Assassin's Creed got going on?
Greg Miller
No, no, no, no, no, no, no. Abstergo.
Tim Geddes
I'mma throw something out there. Metal Gear Rising. Revenue.
Greg Miller
I never played.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
That's crazy.
Greg Miller
Not an action guy. You know what I mean?
Tim Geddes
Yeah.
Greg Miller
I did the demo. I was looking at.
Tim Geddes
Right.
Greg Miller
Godspeed.
Tim Geddes
Ride.
Mike Howard
Well, if you're not for not good, we should have Tim answer again.
Greg Miller
For half points or just a roll.
Tim Geddes
I mean, are we going with that?
Mike Howard
What?
Tim Geddes
Metal Gear. Metal Gear Rising.
Greg Miller
Or veggies? I'm not happy with it, but I'll do it.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
All right, Buzz.
Mike Howard
Not happy with it.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Let's go with it, Tim.
Tim Geddes
Metal Gear Rising Revengeance.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
That is incorrect. Cerberus is actually from Mass Effect.
Greg Miller
Yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Tim, roll that dice.
Mike Howard
Roll that dice.
Greg Miller
Three.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I rolled a five. You're gonna lose half points because you're a guardian. So you're gonna go down to five.
Greg Miller
Reroll.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Well, you use the re roll. There was only one. One per group. One as a group. Yes. Mikey used it.
Mike Howard
Cool.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Next up, Acer. That is spelled A, E, S, I R. Acer.
Tim Geddes
This is a great series of questions that I'm having a lot of trouble with. I'm a total blank. Do you guys.
Greg Miller
Yeah, I got nothing. I would throw out Mirror's Edge.
Mike Howard
Oh, nice pull. Okay.
Greg Miller
I mean, it's a game that I didn't play for the story. I like it.
Tim Geddes
I like it, Tim. Acer is the bad company in Mirror's Edge.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Mirror's Edge is incorrect. The actual answer there is Max Payne.
Greg Miller
Oh, there's an evil corporation in Max Payne?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Greg Miller
Did he kill his family? Is that what that was?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I don't know. It's been so long since I played Max Payne. I don't even know which.
Greg Miller
Max Payne.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Tim, go ahead and roll for me. What's funny is I never thought about what happened if we got half of five. So you might just go down to zero.
Greg Miller
Five.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Okay. You rolled a five, I rolled a two. So you're not gonna lose any points here.
Barrett
Well, wouldn't it just be minus half the half?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
10.
Tim Geddes
Right.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh, yeah, you're right, actually. That's a good point. So you would go down to zero.
Greg Miller
Yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Funny enough, I think I did a play test of this. I'm pretty sure in the playtest they also guessed Mirror's Edge for Aesir. And so I might have to double check on that one. Make sure that's not actually a fact. Next one just sounds right. Hyperion. Oh, Greg Miller.
Greg Miller
Borderlands.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Borderlands is the correct answer. That's 10 points.
Mike Howard
I should have answered that one.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
But I was gonna say. Are you sure you don't want to let the Warrior answer into that one?
Greg Miller
Well, even though I've been fucked over at this company before with the points actually matter, I'm expecting at the end the points actually matter and I'm gonna get a star for having the most. So I gotta start looking out for number one over here because we're. We're not hitting. We're not hitting 300. So Greg's gotta play the Greg game. All right, everybody. Because he's the champion.
Mike Howard
He's lone wolfing. He's lone wolfing. Which means we're all going to separate. Here it comes.
Greg Miller
No. As long as I don't know the answer 100%, we can play it this way.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Next up we got the Phenotrans Corporation.
Mike Howard
Yeah, everybody knows that. Some sort of weird Resident Evil Tim side organization side group.
Greg Miller
This is where I swing back to Split Fiction. Split Fiction's got to pop up at some point. That guy was bad. He had people in the thought bubbles. We got to worry about this.
Tim Geddes
It's so funny cuz I'm pretty sure the split fiction one was Orion.
Greg Miller
Oh, oh, Orion. Stealing your dreams. Can I get the spelling of this one?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah. It is P H E N O T R A N S. All one word.
Greg Miller
P. I think this is a dinosaur in disguise. So it's probably P H E N.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
O T R. Fancy star.
Greg Miller
Why?
Tim Geddes
Just because it has a ph in.
Mike Howard
The beginning with it, you know? Yeah. We're throwing things on a wall, Tim.
Tim Geddes
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Mike Howard
Can't go wrong. Say one more time.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Phenotrans Corporation.
Mike Howard
This could be Mirror's Edge. This is giving Me.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Tim says mirror's edge. That is incorrect. Roger, do you know the answer back there? It is dead rising. Dead rising is what? This is the zombie. Tim, roll that dice.
Greg Miller
Four.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I got a six. And so you're gonna go down to zero.
Tim Geddes
Oh my gosh.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
And then this last one, Pharaoh Automated Solutions really hoping for like a Shinra.
Greg Miller
Greg Miller, Horizon.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Horizon is the correct answer. That's 10 points more on the board for Greg Miller. Bringing up to 100 and bringing the team up to 145. Now you've almost arrived at Count Rongula's lair and as a reminder you're in search for 300 points to unlock the door and face him for his stars. Now as you approach the final entrance, you see three martial artists born of three different eras. I need one of you to buzz in for each of these enemies. Lets start with the martial artists born of the 80s who will buzz in?
Mike Howard
I shall step up the warrior.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
This is round number 12. In the Japanese release of Double Dragon, the Lee brothers practice a fictional martial art known as Sosetsuken. However, in the manual of the western release of the NES game, which martial art is Billy Lee said to have mastered by age 20?
Mike Howard
Karate.
Greg Miller
Yeah. This is karate. Was it karate? Sounds right. Yeah, Karate.
Mike Howard
We shall go with karate.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
They say karate. That is incorrect. Kung fu is what you're looking for. Mike, roll that dice. A one. I got a four. Which means you're gonna lose 20 points. Not looking good for us. The next martial artist is born. The next martial artist is from the 90s. Who's gonna buzz in here?
Greg Miller
Hit that bell.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
As a reminder, Mike already buzzed in.
Greg Miller
I need Timmy Nickelodeon Bullshit.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
You got this.
Tim Geddes
I much prefer the 2000s, but I'll.
Greg Miller
Take it for the team.
Mike Howard
I stepped up for the 80s.
Greg Miller
Give me a Ninja Turtle question. I've been waiting all fucking episode for these goddamn turtles to pop up.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Round 13 in Parappa the rapper.
Greg Miller
Fuck me.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
The player takes on the role of Parappa, a rapping dog. What is the name of Parappa's karate instructor?
Greg Miller
Oh shit.
Tim Geddes
The Onion.
Greg Miller
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Tim Geddes
Oh man.
Greg Miller
Layers, stank, DJ Ninja. It's got to be something. I mean we got to think of that. We're in this ninja thing. It's a 90s ninja thing punch. It's all in the mind. Yeah. Oh my God, man.
Tim Geddes
Ate too much silk song last night. I'm sleepy. My brain's not working.
Greg Miller
Mr. Stinky. Final answer.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Mr. Stinky Crack says Mr. Stanky. No. The answer is Chop chop, Master Onion.
Tim Geddes
Okay, yeah.
Barrett
Did Tim lose his mass last dice roll?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I forget.
Greg Miller
He did. Okay.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah, yeah. Tim should be at zero. Greg rolled a four. I rolled a one, which means they're gonna lose zero points there.
Greg Miller
Thank you.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
The next martial artist is from the 2000s. Tim would need to buzz in for this one with round number 14. In the martial arts RPG Jade Empire.
Greg Miller
Yes. Ign. Dave Clayman. Never forget.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Never forget. Players come across an unintelligent ogre named Zhang the Ox Carrier. If you listen closely, you would notice that the actor for Zhang also voices which other bioware RPG character.
Mike Howard
Way back.
Greg Miller
I will, kind of. He's an O Fish. What would you call him? How'd you describe John?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh, he's Zhang the Ox Carrier. Unintelligent.
Greg Miller
Sounds like a big guy. I would say Rex for Mass Effect.
Tim Geddes
Yeah, yeah, Just not Shepherd. Like, just. I don't know, because I feel like if you're gonna do, like, a fun little cameo thing, you go with the COVID artist.
Greg Miller
Yeah, but this is getting promoted, right? Like, Jade Empire came out before Mass Effect. So this is somebody going from Jade Empire to Mass Effect. Yeah, this came out after Kotor. I don't think it's a main player. I don't think it'd be Shepard, but I could be wrong.
Mike Howard
Oh, you don't think he got so. He did so good. Got promoted?
Greg Miller
I don't think so. Maybe. I don't know. Because, I mean, John wasn't a main guy.
Mike Howard
It could be. Yeah, it could be side character. Could be. You got a promotion, main guy.
Tim Geddes
I'm going. Promotion. Shepherd.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Tim says Shepard. Shepard is the correct answer. That's 10 points for Tim Geddes.
Greg Miller
Awesome.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Now, Barret, before we move on, can I get another score recap from you right now?
Barrett
Together as a team, working so hard to fight through this dungeon, the crew collectively is at 130 points.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
But if we want to talk about.
Barrett
Who'S carrying the weight today, still at the very bottom somehow, still with the same amount of points when we last checked in. It's Tim Geddes with for Team Orange with a pathetic 10 points. Just barely above him, Snowbike Mike, co captain for Team Purple. Maybe that was a mistake. With 20 points and in the lead.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Carrying the most amount of points for.
Barrett
This team, actually showing up, actually wanting.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
To fight this boss.
Barrett
Fight. It's Greg Miller for Team Blue with a hundred point.
Greg Miller
If everybody would just get on my level, we could fight this boss, no problem.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Now you guys knock on Count Rongula's door.
Greg Miller
Ring a ding ding. Count Wrongula.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
There's no response. However, a bat flaps around the room and transform into human form. She introduces herself as the Bitress, and she feeds off of wrong answers real quick. How hot is she? Really hot.
Greg Miller
Yeah, I was right there with you.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
She says, I will allow each of you a shot to bet an amount of points. If you get the question correct, you will receive back triple that amount.
Greg Miller
Oh.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
This is your last chance to enter Count Rongula's chamber. How much will each of you bet?
Mike Howard
Put down 100 grand.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
100.
Greg Miller
You guys gotta risk yours, too.
Tim Geddes
I've been risking everything.
Mike Howard
You've been taking the hits every time, saving the damage, answering things.
Greg Miller
Right.
Mike Howard
We go all in. We're three best team together. Yep.
Greg Miller
I'm gonna say no.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
If you don't, you get no stars.
Greg Miller
You don't. I don't trust you. I don't trust Roger, and I don't trust Mike. I fell for this during Mario party. The points matter. The points matter. The points don't matter. Things over everybody go home. I don't fucking trust you for a goddamn second that the points are gonna.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I'm being honest. If you don't get into this door, no stars for anybody.
Greg Miller
I promise you.
Mike Howard
Good? Fucking good. That's all right. We'll call it a war. Stand on it, Greg.
Tim Geddes
Keep your stupid points.
Mike Howard
Stand on business.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Greg is standing on business.
Greg Miller
Greg, please. Are you fucking for real, though?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I'm fucking for real.
Greg Miller
I don't want to do this. And then at the end, it turns out there was a point. The points don't matter.
Barrett
Roger and Mike aren't the producing this.
Greg Miller
Do the points matter? Do the points not matter? And don't fucking. Roger's not. He's over there cackling like a schoolgirl.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Do they matter? They're not gonna see the final boss. The only way to leave here with a star is to see the final boss. And you want that star champion.
Greg Miller
But to be clear. You know what I'm saying?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Greg Miller
So we go through the door, huh? And then it's not gonna be. There's no bonus star. We have to. How are you giving out a star at the end?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Then you had to beat the boss.
Tim Geddes
To the quiet room.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
You get in the door, you beat the boss. Bada bing, bada boom. You each leave with a star.
Greg Miller
I don't trust you. You're laughing as you tell me. Because the looks you're giving me, here's what I'll do. All right? I'll risk 70 points. That way I still have the most points. If we Lose, I guess that doesn't help me. Whatever. I'll do 70. I'll do 70. You're all doing yours. You're all in.
Mike Howard
I'm going all in.
Greg Miller
That would get us to 100. Is that what we need?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yes, that is what you would need.
Greg Miller
There's me the hundred to get in now. Yes, that's what we're saying.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
You need a three. Well, you need 300. But you will get triple back to points. And so it will equal out perfect. Yes. So greg is going 70. Mike, how many are you going?
Mike Howard
20.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Tim, how many you going?
Tim Geddes
10.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
All right.
Greg Miller
Let'S play. Let's play like champions today.
Mike Howard
We're gonna remember this for the whole entire season.
Greg Miller
If I fucking. If I get fucked over here and it is at the end. Oh yeah, you all get a start. But Tim had the most points at the end. I'm gonna fucking lose it. All right. Can you spell layoffs, Roger? Cuz that's what'll be happening here.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Roger in the back. Can you spell lawsuit? At last year's Games Game Awards. At last year's the Game awards, Final Fantasy 7, Rebirth and Astrobot both led the nominations with seven categories each. However, they only shared four categories in common. Can you name two of these categories that Astrobot and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth shared? If you get this right, you're going in.
Greg Miller
What's Final Fantasy Game of the year? Okay. Okay. Then what the next one's gonna be?
Tim Geddes
Score music.
Mike Howard
Nice.
Tim Geddes
What was it though? I mean, Final Fantasy was for sure.
Greg Miller
But was Astrobot Better have been known. Yeah.
Mike Howard
They like that song we love.
Tim Geddes
Yeah, I mean, I love it.
Greg Miller
You just spit so much out of your mouth.
Mike Howard
Yeah, me and Tim are one.
Tim Geddes
I think that those are the right answers. But is there another category we can throw in there?
Mike Howard
Best rpg? Best action adventure game?
Greg Miller
Yeah, it would be that. It would be like that. It would be right. Yeah. So I mean, not games for impact, not racing game.
Tim Geddes
That's not story.
Greg Miller
There's no voice acting in Astrobots. It's not that. Art direction. Right? They do that where they do. They do game. They do game direction. There's game direction.
Tim Geddes
I think game direction is a good one.
Greg Miller
You think so?
Tim Geddes
But is it better than soundtrack?
Mike Howard
Is it better than soundtrack?
Tim Geddes
I'm just. I'm trying to think back to last year of like soundtrack. We had metaphor, we had Final Fantasy Astro probably was there.
Greg Miller
Roll.
Tim Geddes
All right, let's do it.
Greg Miller
Do it.
Mike Howard
Shoot it, Tim.
Tim Geddes
Is it me?
Greg Miller
It's a team game.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Tim buzzes in what are your Final.
Tim Geddes
Answers Soundtrack and Game of the Year.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Astrobot and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth were both nominated for four categories. Those categories were Game of the Year, Best Game Direction, Best Best Audio Design, and Best Score in Music. So I'm taking that. Best Soundtrack. I will be taking that as the correct answer. Greg, of course, bet 70 and so you'll get back 210 points, bringing you up to 240. Tim bet 10 points there. And so Tim will be getting back 30, 60. 30, 60. 30 points. And then Mike will be getting back 60 points. Thank you. Sorry, I had that backwards. We figured it out. Now you open the door to the lair with all your 300 points that you got on the board here, and you see Count Rongula awaiting your arrival.
Greg Miller
How hot is he?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Real hot.
Greg Miller
Why are vampires always so hot?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
They're so sexy. I don't know. And he's also one step ahead of you. He says 300 points is what was needed to unlock my door. However, in order for a player to receive a star, they need at least 100 points. That's right. Any player by the end of this will, with at least 100 points will receive a star. That means as of now, Greg Miller will receive a star. And team Purple and team sucks.
Greg Miller
Count Rongula, I have a question. What are we doing? Count Rongula. I'm a lowly rogue. I have a question.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah?
Greg Miller
Does it snack? So, like, I have 200 points. Do I get two stars?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
No, it does not stack.
Greg Miller
Got it. Thank you, Count Romula. You're sexy.
Mike Howard
So he won't answer. We're good. It was just you and I.
Greg Miller
Now we can all get stars. Count wrong.
Mike Howard
Ella, I'm two questions away.
Greg Miller
Or is only one person getting the stars?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
No, you all can get stars. You just have to be above 100.
Greg Miller
Got it?
Mike Howard
Yeah, he's got his.
Greg Miller
I'll help you guys now.
Mike Howard
Yeah, he's got his.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
There's still a little bit of game left here.
Greg Miller
You got me here. I like that.
Mike Howard
He's a champion.
Greg Miller
Three time fourth, plus this. And then don't forget, kind of feudi.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Your special abilities are back to being active.
Greg Miller
Nice.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
And the final boss fight starts.
Greg Miller
Count. With tiny dice.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
No. Okay, this is round number 15. You guys are familiar with the rules. From here on, correct answers are worth 20 points. However, the fight against Count Rongula has some new ground rules. I have one question for each of you. If you get it correct, you can choose who gets those points. You don't have to take them yourself.
Greg Miller
Oh, nice.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
If you get it wrong. Everyone will take damage.
Greg Miller
Damn it.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Your fellow players can help if they want.
Greg Miller
That's every question.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
That's for each of these questions. Yes. This is your last chance to defeat Count Rongula and leave here with a star. Contestants, are you ready?
Greg Miller
Yeah. Yeah.
Tim Geddes
Is it possible for gray to lose 140 points anyway?
Greg Miller
No, but it is possible for you not to be mean to me and I hope you win your points.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
It is possible for each of you to leave here with a star. Is it?
Tim Geddes
Is it?
Mike Howard
Is it.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Maybe, like, it doesn't seem.
Mike Howard
Like it to me.
Tim Geddes
This seems like being a team player.
Mike Howard
Wasn'T really the best move here.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
It's possible for two people to leave here with a start.
Mike Howard
Great.
Greg Miller
How many questions are there?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Thanks.
Greg Miller
For me? Beautiful. I love that.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
There's one for you.
Greg Miller
I love this.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
All right, let's start off with the Guardian. Guardian and Don't Nods Vampire. That's Tim, by the way. And Don't Nods Vampire. The main character, Jonathan Reed, is torn between his status as a vampire and his duty in. What occupation?
Mike Howard
Mailman.
Tim Geddes
Optometrist.
Greg Miller
I thought he might be journalist. It was like. You remember? It was like CD England. It was a throwback thing. I only played the intro. I didn't like it that much. Yeah, he's not an optometrist for sure.
Tim Geddes
Yeah.
Greg Miller
I have no idea. I'm not throwing you off the scent.
Tim Geddes
Yeah. I mean, a journalist, I guess.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Journalist is incorrect if you say optometrist. No, he's a doctor.
Greg Miller
Okay.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I would have. I thought you were fuck with me because I could have sworn. Did you play vampire?
Greg Miller
I just played like the opening hour or two.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
That was like. The premise of the game is that he's a doctor vampire. So, like, he has the oath to uphold his Dr. Isms. But he also.
Greg Miller
If he would have said optometrist, would you let him slide? No, absolutely not.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Go ahead, roll that. Die for me.
Tim Geddes
It's a one.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I also got a one, which means they're gonna lose 10 points. Next up is the Warrior or. Sorry, you're gonna lose five points.
Tim Geddes
Thank you.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Because us getting ones means. Wasn't this also worth 20, though? Yeah, but I never explained the point system to the audience because I like keeping it mysterious. Basically, what it comes down to is when I win, it's 20 points. When we tie, it's 10 points. And when they win, it's zero points because we tied. It's gonna go down to five points as the thing.
Barrett
And is that everybody losing points as well.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
You're Right. That is everybody losing points. And so everybody goes down by five.
Tim Geddes
Except for me, though, right?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
No, no, no.
Mike Howard
You know what? We elect Tim to take all of the damage. I can't lose points.
Greg Miller
I like that as well. Yes.
Mike Howard
I really need these next, too. So, like, Tim, just put your body in front of the lightning bolt for me.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
All right, next up is the warrior. Mike. That's you.
Greg Miller
Come on, Mike, do this. Finish strong. Let's get you some points. Let's get you a star for Andy, something Andy can never do.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
The first Castlevania game published on Famicom in 1986, alongside a parallel version which was published on MSX2 under a different title. What was this MSX2 version titled?
Mike Howard
Whoa.
Tim Geddes
Yeah, That's a good question.
Greg Miller
Dinky Vampire. I.
Tim Geddes
This is probably wrong, but the best I have is Vampire Killer.
Mike Howard
Vampire Killer.
Greg Miller
Dope name.
Mike Howard
That is a cool name.
Greg Miller
Wait.
Mike Howard
Wouldn'T be like Dracula's Bedtime.
Tim Geddes
Vampire Chronicles. I don't know. That's all I got for you.
Mike Howard
Vampire what?
Greg Miller
Chronicles.
Tim Geddes
Vampire Killer. Van. Vampire Killer is the name of the song.
Greg Miller
Remember? He thought Genova Chen, though. So what can you trust anymore?
Mike Howard
Yeah, exactly. Vampire Chronicles.
Tim Geddes
You like?
Greg Miller
I like Killer, but that sounds too cool. Yeah. Vampire Chronicles. That's it. Sounds losery.
Mike Howard
Yeah. This franchise, Vampire Chronicles, will choose the correct answer.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
And if you get this correct, because you're the warrior, you're gonna get 40 points. Vampire killer.
Greg Miller
Tim, you hate to see it.
Mike Howard
Yeah. Step to it with a little confidence. Hey, I can't believe that was in there.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
That's crazy answer. Which could have gotten you that star. If Greg Miller would have. Would decide to give you the rest of his points here.
Barrett
Speaking of, does he need a roll?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
You do need a roll. Thank you. I get more than everybody's getting extra points. Maybe lose points here.
Mike Howard
Rolls a. I got a one, dude.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I also rolled a one, which means everybody's gonna lose 10 points.
Greg Miller
Okay, fair.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Lastly, Rogue.
Greg Miller
Yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
It's kind of a victory lap for you, I think, right here you have it. Yeah.
Mike Howard
He could share points with us.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
That is true. Neil Newbin is famously known for voicing a vampire spawn named Asterion in Baldur's Gate 3.
Greg Miller
Oh, yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
However, he more recently voiced the famous vampire Dracula, in which other game I'm.
Greg Miller
Gonna use one of my roles.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
He used all three.
Greg Miller
But you said they all came back. Or special moves came back for the final round.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah, but yours don't replenish the round before they've gone away. Like you couldn't use.
Tim Geddes
A dead take.
Greg Miller
I mean, I didn't. I didn't play it yet.
Tim Geddes
I mean, I don't. I know he's in that.
Mike Howard
That's.
Greg Miller
I damned. Me too. I know he's in that too, I guess. Yeah, that'd be. You know. But is that really. Is he Dracula in that game? Maybe.
Tim Geddes
Fucking crazy sounds right.
Greg Miller
All right, fine. Let's do a dead take.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Dead take is incorrect.
Greg Miller
I'm gonna say that's if we just spoil dead take before it's loaded on my PC.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
The answer is Vampire survivors. There was the old to Castlevania DLC which had a Dracula character voiced by Neil Newbon.
Greg Miller
Nice.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Go ahead and roll for me.
Greg Miller
Four.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I got a one. Which means you're not taking. Nobody's taking any damage for that round, but your encounter with Count Rongula is over. The villain fades away, his fate unclear. But there's a sense of a little bit of victory.
Greg Miller
A lot of victory here.
Tim Geddes
A little bit frustration, anger.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Barrett, what's the final score here?
Tim Geddes
Sucks.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
The final score.
Barrett
The team got together, were able to get into the boss fight arena together. But only one really survived. The two who didn't. God disembarrassing. Tim Geddes for team orange with only 15 points. What are we doing here?
Tim Geddes
Who answered the questions?
Barrett
Still not enough. But you know what was here for a fun time. As you can tell by his cool outfit, it was Mike Howard for team purple with 45 points. Second place right there for team Purple. Kind of the same story. We'll see how the rest of the season goes. But in the lead today and actually getting a star walking away from this boss fight, it was Greg Miller with.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Team blue with 225 points. Greg, congratulations.
Greg Miller
Thank you.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Earned the first star of the season.
Greg Miller
I'd love to see it.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
It was a team game but you walked out here victorious.
Greg Miller
Somehow I'd like to do something unheard of here on kinda funny game showdown. And I'm dedicating this star to Gia and my unborn niece. I'm so excited to meet you.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
All.
Greg Miller
Season'S dedicated to them.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh, wow.
Greg Miller
My performance from here on out, dedicated.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
To them whole season. That's incredible. That's honestly beautiful. I love that. Of course this has been game showdown, your nerdy show and we're back for the season. And so tune in each and every week for another episode of trivia shenanigans with the crew. Team purple led by new co captains Mike Howard and Andy Cortez. So tune in each week to see who will be competing and who will be rising victorious. We'll be back next week with another episode and right after this, we got a stream going down. It is Pico park, so tune in for that until next time. It's been our pleasure to serve you.
