Listen, let's just put it this way. It's lucky those guys can kite, because holy crap, that was about the third effort they'd put into it. But I was like. I was like, I should really be recording this and doing my job correctly. But, yeah, we had a couple of days after you left where we sort of just went down and did a bit of kiting. And, you know, the other funny thing, Colin, is I got some people to ride that kite. You know, you said, I think that kite's a bit tired. And they came back and said, that kite's fine. So I think it's just us, which is kind of embarrassing. Okay, bad news.

Anyway, that's not good. Let's get to it anyway. Yeah, so if you're listening to this on the day it comes out, the 2nd of July, the entire hill Speaks series is now up. If you're following us on Instagram or on the emails or inside the tent, you would have seen this. We dropped the first few episodes last week. It is heal in Mykonos after the event, running around the event site, borrowing the latest and greatest kites from everyone that's there. He goes on Cohen Van Dyke's Orbit. He goes on a Team Rider, Harlem Peak. He borrows Jamie Overbeak's Duotone Rebel. The list goes on. He tries every kite that is worth trying at the moment. And because he's unsponsored, he just tells it how it is. And how was it for you, Adrian? Because it was kind of like Christmas for us.

Yeah, it was a pretty cool experience to be with Heal and just hear him talking. Yeah, it was just awesome. You know, this project came together very last minute, but it was just cool to see. Once riders saw what Hiel was doing, they were like, take my kite, take my kite, take my kite. You know, and that was something that you and I thought, oh, how are we going to get these kites? But it just was awesome to see that sort of momentum and excitement build around he'll going out and riding and other people were just watching. He'll ride different kites because he hasn't announced where he's going. So there was a lot of speculation, a little bit of hype and I thought it was cool.

Yeah. He also talks about what it was like to be dropped by a sponsor, what it's like to be in between how you go about talking to brands. How about you go testing kites, what you're looking for? I'll just give you the list of kites that are currently up on the site. Streaming. It starts. Episode one was the North Orbit. This is the NU80 orbit with the brand new material in it. Then he goes on the Duotone Rebel D lab, the 2026. Then he's on the Harlem Peak. Then he goes on a kite that we haven't been allowed to release the footage of yet. I'm waiting for a sign off from a team rider today. I'll tell you more about that next week. It was just a slightly tricky situation. Then he goes on the ozone Vortex Ultra 2, which is the kite that Reuben Lenton was riding. Lots. Then he goes on the F1 banger. That's the Charles Bradell kite that he rode in King of the Air. Then he goes on the Slingshot code NXT2, which topped all of the Surfer leaderboards from Lords of Tram in the hands of Zach Adams and Jeremy Balando, who of course designed that puppy. Then he goes on the fly surfer Sonic the 7 meter and he's looping the fly surface Sonic and saying how that feels. We weren't sure if he'd really flown those kites much because there's no footage of him doing it online. And yeah, that's maybe one of the most interesting ones of them all. But if you're at all interested in what's happening with R and D and where the best big air kites are at, it's all on there for you. Go and go and watch it.

Interestingly, When I was watching it, actually, I was traveling home and Hugo and I were sitting in Doha Airport together and we were watching the three episodes worth. That is Hugo Wigglesworth. Yeah, because it was Hugo's kite was the one he flies. Anyway, Hugo and I had a similar opinion. I, I haven't had a chance to speak to you. When he's talking about the Peak versus the Rebel, when he's talking about the Peak having a bigger sweet spot than the Rebel. That's interesting because that goes against everything that I kind of felt and Hugo was saying, oh, I felt like it was the other way around. But again, this is his opinion, right? That's not our opinion. This is what he thinks of these kites. But you've ridden both of those kites. Which kite do you think has the biggest sweet spot?

I agree with Hill, actually. I felt like the Rebel was more difficult, I think for like just jumping around. Maybe the Rebels got it, but like for loops, I think the Peak is much more user friendly and accessible. I think heel is doing two things. When he's talking to the camera. I think he's talking out of his own experience as a world class rider at the very top of the sport. We're talking about how the kite flies for the 0.05% of the kiteboarding population. But then he also does talk about, you know, how it would be for a customer. So I'm on team here with this one. Sorry.

No, it's totally cool. And, and maybe I misread that or comes across to me that way, but it's. You know what, that's actually something that I really liked what he was saying. He was saying for most people this is a great kite and you know, you can go and watch that. I don't want to give too much away of which kites he's talking about. But it's really interesting because he keeps on saying, and maybe this is an indication of where he or Caesar's future at as a, as a person who wants to get into the next stage of his kiting and you know, start creating kites. Because look, you can't create a kite purely for, you know. Well, we've seen that looks like the Harlem do that with for the Casadis, but that's not going to make the market tick. But I like. Yeah, you're right. Hill did a really good job of that. It was, it was super special. So exciting to be there and just hear him talking freely without contract, without any sort of fear of what he's going to say and that's pretty rare in this industry.

I mean, in the beginning, of course, it was a bit of a shock also to Moritz. Like, it was just. Yeah, we both didn't expect it.

There's a lot of kites that I really like and that are good for me. But what I am looking for is a kite that's really good for me, but really good for a customer, too. It's just tough to test these kites.

Underpowered, it's crowded.

Very hard to find the takeoff. So you only have a few moments where you can feel a little bit about the kite. But it's a nice kite. Get really nicely behind me on some jumps as well. Flies quite far behind me as well. Easy, I would say, to fly.

On the second jump. I have a 12 that I have for training. And I have to say, in. In Cape Town, I hated it because I just couldn't land. Like, every time I was landing, the download was coming and I was flying up again.

a bit more creative. Everything needs to feel easy. And I think right now, what felt easy and had really good performance out of everything is the.

Well, I figured out quite quickly what the judges wanted to see, I think. And I was coaching Shahar, and I was just saying to Shahar, okay, this is the way to do the semis and to do the finals where, you know, you could see on anyone's, almost anyone's front roll takeoff, they weren't going as high as their back roll takeoff.

Let's move on to one of those kites, the Vortex, the Ozone Vortex. Timo Boisma finally signed to a new team on that kite.

And that's a kite that he'll really liked. You know, we spoke about that a few weeks ago. It might be similar to the XR and the. The higher aspect, but, man, that's a really good move. I'm super happy for Timo. You know, he's a, you know, great rider, top level rider. Been in the semi finals, been in big finals. I'm really happy that he's got a team to go to. And, you know, he's good mates with, you know, that always helps to have a good mate there. He can sort of travel and push together. So, yeah, it's great to see Ozone making some moves and that. To all the people out there who hit me up saying, oh, you're so mean to Ozone. I want them to do this. So it's great that they finally are, you know, it's great that they're making these moves.

Yeah, I think no one's ever questioned the product with Ozone. They've always made really good kites in their own dedicated factory. But they haven't always. Well, they've basically never. Apart from Jamie and Reuben for a while there had top level riders endorsing it. So yeah, this is cool and I hope Timo can find a home there. And I think, yeah, well, you'll see in the review. But like, it's obvious that kite performs. It is obvious. Agent, tell me about this. You had Red Bull on the phone just before coming on and you. I asked you what it was and you said we'd have to wait. And now can you just, can you just say.

As we were jumping into the studio, I looked at my, my phone and I saw Zoe from Red Bull. Our good old mate Zoe. And she's just given me the first 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 men and 2 ladies. The pre selected riders for this year's Megaloop. So this Megaloop has sort of snuck up on us. Something's going on at Red Bu.

Everything seems to be a little bit last minute Larry at the moment, but we have them. So these are the first 10 men for the Red Bull Megaloot this year. These are the pre invited riders. Lorenzo Casati, Andrea Principe, Cohen, Van Dyke, Jason Van der Spee Steen Mole Heel Vlook, Jamie Overbeek, Shahar Sabri, Yusuf Paralek and Leonardo Casati.

They're only going to name two of the ladies at the moment, which is Natalie and Zara. So there's going to be six men from video and four, four, four ladies from video. So big changes there. You saw last year was a bit of a shock for us. But he's really riding a lot better. Looks great. Was riding 18s when we saw him in Mykonos this weekend. Very, very he. Even on the first day of competition he changed and went back down to the shorter lines. He thinks he can still get that height and get that kite lower. And this is an event that arguably he can do well. And great news for Leo. But Shah also coming out of that big performance, getting, getting a position there. So that's super cool. I mean, it's happening, brother. It's happening. It's sort of sneaked up. Sneaked up on us a little bit there.

But one thing I want to see, and I have heard from people that they never check the line lengths. When the riders arrive, there should be a hook. You hook your lines and you pullback. It has to go to a certain point. Come on, guys, let's step it up here. Just, hey, I'm on 18th. I mean guys, apparently. I heard guys were riding 19 and a half and stretching out as much as possible to get that.

We might need to stretch them together. But yeah, super cool, man. That's another big event. And man, the bigger events are really pumping at the moment. I can't remember the last time we went to one and it was a bit of a stinker. So that, that's super exciting. But I'll bring you more information about that when we know how exciting Cold Hawaii is on again. I just had a meeting with those guys yesterday. As usual. I like what cold Hawaii is doing differently. They like to. They want to tell the story of the north of Denmark. Yeah, they want to do things differently all the time. They, they don't like it polished and yeah, they're looking to do some different stuff. So that's going to be super cool. And obviously over the next few weeks we'll bring you more information about that. But the window is open. If you're a young rider, you want to get your videos in, these are the ones you put them in for and just start building up your online reputation. And I think, like when I think back to Maxwell Dahl, who's on the Scene now he's been putting videos in every year since he's 11, you know, so I think it's worthwhile getting better at putting videos, get better at creating videos and start getting those in and hopefully one day you'll make that step up to the, to the next, to the next stage.

Yeah. Remo Utzinger, I think his name is, was riding a Cabrinha moto apex. Look guys, you can put in their world record as much as you want. Guys, we have these great devices in the industry. We've got surfer, we've got woo. Put them on your boards. Don't come back and say, oh, it's a world record, but you can't prove it. Guys, it's so simple. These devices are great for tracking not just jump height, but tracking your career, tracking your time on the water, tracking everything. You should be wearing them just as good practice. Lots of people saying he. One guy said he went 50 meters high and went 2 kilometers downward. Two kilometers would be, that would be a huge ask. And if he did, if he did, if there is some proof that he went 2km downwind, I'll be very, very surprised. But look, it's, look, it's got a lot of respect. You know, there's people like Edgar Ulrich in the chat saying it's impressive. There's Christophe Tack in the, in the thing. There's, there's quality people in the chat saying, guys, it's legit. It is impressive. You know, it's, it reminds me a little bit of the Mara Sanjay situation. Marius obviously didn't go as far, but dude, these are just massive missed opportunities. The ball's in your court, guys. If you don't get it right, what can I do?

Sorry, maybe my English is not that super nice, but jump felt super massive. Cannot explain. I mean, I don't use really woo or su. As I told you, it was that storm and normally it's quite side offshore on our spot on our part of the lake. And if you go out to 300 meters, there's kind of a area which some two winds. I mean, I know it already before but it was really just luck. So I think one heavy gust came down from. From our side and made like a huge wave on the other stream of channel of wind. We have it already in the center of the lake. Hey. And yeah, I mean, I jumped. And when I looked down after the second or third heli loop, it went higher and higher. I mean, I do paragliding, snow kiting. I fly also, like 200 meters above. But I was looking down and thought off, if I lose my board right here on the top, I will never find it again. And so, I don't know. I would say it's not alive. I would say 40 meters. Maybe it was 50. I don't know. I was totally focused on myself in the end to don't get out of orientation. Yeah. In the end was right decision to land safely. Yeah. Yeah. There was the story. And yeah, after that, I went up. I never took the ghost like these again, but did some other loops. Was just a massive day. Yeah. Choose, mate.

Let's talk Brainchild, as I mentioned in the last one, had a lot of people message me saying, it's just unconsumable. Awesome information, but unconsumable. Which I tend to think, looking back, I kind of think we messed up. Do you know, we mess up every now and then, brother. Pretty rare. But every now and then we make a mistake.

Yeah. What I would say is, have you ever had a bad day at the office? Do you have a clean sheet? Do you? So this happens, but we're gonna make it better. And we've got a plan in place now, and it's gonna happen. So don't worry, guys. You're gonna hear about the latest and greatest developments at Brainchild, who, let's face it, are pushing harder than anyone else. And what they're doing there has just won a world championship. Why don't you tell us about your experience? Unfortunately, I couldn't make the trip at the very last minute, which was. Oh, when I was listening to the audio, it's so. It was like having this mass fear of missing out. I was had the fear of missing out for fomo, as the kids would say. But what was it like to be there? What was it like to. To experience that sort of like Charlie and the Chocolate Factory type feeling as you go into a place that is almost mystical in its location, how it's turned out, who runs it? I mean, it's a little bit like our own Elon Musk.

No, he is that. Yeah. But he has his heart in the right place, whereas I'm not sure Mr. Musk necessarily does. Yeah, it was just such a treat to be like. It's like Christmas being in there. And to be around the person that is engineering these kites and doing the science behind it is such a treat, and it did feel like a privilege. But also what I love about Ralph and Brainchild is, like, the entrepreneurial grit. The fact that he's pulled this off and has made something that has, in kiteboarding, that has made the prime minister of a country turn up to open the factory is just. It's just amazing. And I always feel so rejuvenated as a small business owner to come away from being in contact with that, and I come away being like, right, we got to do shit. Come on, guys. Put your fingers out. Let's go, go, go. And that was cool. That was cool. So, yeah, I got a lot out of it.

This is not like a job. It's like this is his dream, you know, and like I've got a techcast coming up with DK talking about his lab. It's like completely different scale, but he's excited about his little project and it's like, it doesn't matter who you are. They're just so, these type of characters are so passionate about this sport that they give their life to it, which is so cool. I love that.

Same with Hail. The fact that we're like, he'll give us an entire afternoon. You're going to fly every kite on the market and talk to a camera about it in an heavy amounts of detail. And there'll also be a sit down interview. And he's like, absolutely, let's go. You know, it's. Yeah. So we really value the industry.
