The Know youw Gear Podcast the Know youw Gear Podcast is brought to you by Patreon Members Channel members and viewers who like and subscribe. Thank you for making this possible. Hey everyone. Welcome to the Know youw Gear podcast, episode 441. And it's on November 28th, which is Black Friday. So we're not going to be talking about Black Friday. We'll be. We're going to be talking about my favorite pumpkin pie versus apple pie recipes. You know, which is better? What is the appropriate amount of cinnamon to put in them. And I'm just kidding. We're not talking about guitars. So what are we talking about? So many things. Last week I talked about Reverb's new policy and how crazy it is and that I almost just couldn't even believe it's true. And it's crazy. I'd like to point out that Reverb did reach out to me. They basically sent me an email saying that they basically, I'm going to sum it down. They understand my criticisms. They'd like to come on the show and talk about some of the things they're implementing, the things I criticize them about. So we'll be doing that. They asked to do that after the holidays, so I will be responding to them after the holidays. So we'll get you an update on what's going on with Reverb. Then you guys last week asked me a question about my favorite guitar cables and what I use. And I mentioned to you that I normally don't buy them. That, you know, when I was a dealer I got samples and then I had those for years. And then of course, you know, you know, people like Clot sent me cables. Literally the next day I got approved to do a video that I was trying to, I was been working on for a while. I was trying to get a company to work with me on a couple items that to do. This is a more of a big production kind of video. And guess what? I needed cables. I needed cables. I don't have enough cables to. To do this video that I want to do for you guys. So I needed a couple cables and so I had to go buy some guitar cables. So and I thought, oh, it's really funny because somebody asked me hypothet, what cables would I buy? And then I had to buy cables. So what did I buy? Well, I do like Megami and I do like Planet Waves. But what did I end up buying? Well, this is what I bought. I bought the Planet Waves. No, I bought the Proko Evel EV LG C SLN 1010 foot cables. I needed two 10 footers. So I bought two of these. They were 55 bucks a piece, which is reasonable but also outrageous and disgusting at the same exact time. But of course, as you can imagine, I wanted the Silen Jacks. This is the. The preferred cable that I like. And I needed two 10 footers and I needed two right angles. So this kind of worked out perfect for me. So I ordered two of these. Even though I ordered them, they're still here. It's probably because the holidays. They'll be here next Tuesday, I believe, after the show. And so I ordered those from Sweetwater. So that's the answer the question last week, what cables do I like? Apparently I like the Proko 10 footers because that's what I bought. Nothing. It wasn't because the price. So you know, I just wanted this specific end. I really like this neutrik noiseless end. And I've tried a bunch of other noiseless ends and this is the one I keep coming back to. So that's where I went with that. Okay, so what else do we have? Let's look in. We have a couple of early riser questions. And the first early riser question I saw was from In Stuff Guitars with just the letter in In Stuff Guitars says any recommendations on a good travel guitar? I played rock, alternative metal. I tried the EG one, but I did not like it. Let me verify the EG one. You know, it's. It's a. We don't live in a world. Strat Les Paul. Do you have. Do you have a Firebird? No, I have a EG1 705. I'm just kidding. What is this EG1? So the EG1 guitar looking right here is $599. $600 is a traveler guitar. So it's travel. So this is a very small guitar. I'm curious about the overall length. Does it give you the overall length on this? I know it's 24 and 3, 4 scale. Where's the length? It's a travel guitar. They don't give you the length. They don't give you really Sweetwater. No specifications to the length. That's really what I want to know. Isn't that what you guys want to know? It does come with a gig bag. Oh, here it is. 24 inch scale in a 28 inch. Oh, so 28. 28 and a half inch frame. No special strings required. Okay, so you bought this for $600. And what was your Point. Your point was? Any recommendations? Yeah, you alternate. I tried it. I did not like it. I didn't like them either. I tried a bunch of travel guitars early on. I did videos probably of one just like this. It was pretty nice. I did the ESP version. It was nice. Over the years, I just learned something about myself, which is I'm not a person of compromise when it comes to my guitar amps. I don't care about. It's really weird. I can play the little spark thing. I could play the little. That little Marshall plastic thing on your hip. Any of that stuff. I could just suffer through any good or bad sounding amplifier. Of course I like the. The Blackstar little plastic amp and I like the spark and. But to me, it's. I can't. I can't compromise on the guitar. I just don't. What happened was I used to play a travel guitar or some kind of guitar that was not, you know, 100% to my liking. And I would go, well, it's good for me because I'm playing something different. I'm doing something different. And you know what? I don't want to do different. Really. What happens is this. This is a really important thing to me, especially as you get older. You know, when I was traveling in August, I was traveling for almost two weeks total, straight between all the traveling I had to do. And during those two weeks, I almost had no time to play guitar. And so when I came back and started making videos for you guys, it was brutal because I was. Not, because I was out of practice, just my hands. I. All of a sudden I had to. I had to go back from tens back to nines for a week or two just to get the bends correct. You know, you start noticing your bend sounds flat really bad in the videos. And so let's. Let's show you what I. So I'll tell you what I do, and then I'll just tell you what I recommend you do. I know that's a. Kind of a horrible way to do it, but it's just. It's just the reality of expenses. So I'll start with obviously what I do. Okay, so do I have my. Do I have my keys. Old guitar here? I don't really. Strange. Okay, let me grab. Let me grab that and let me show you. Okay. So as you may know, I have Keisel. PM1 says PM1 on the back. PM1 guitar. This is my main guitar. This is what I play 90% of the time, no questions asked. This is what I play. And what happened was I just got so accustomed and used to it. It's just really my go to guitar for playing all the time. So although I tried all these travel guitars and there's so many good ones, but I just got to the point where like, no, I just want to travel with this. So luckily through some, some, some favors, I was able to get this. Grab this for you guys still here. I didn't leave you. So I had Kiesel guitars make me this and it's an exact clone of that guitar in the Del Delos headless model. So same pickups, same wiring, same everything. I didn't do a tremolo I could have, but when I'm traveling, I don't want to deal with the tremolo. Somebody asked me, they said, you don't like the, the, the headless tremolos? It's not that I don't like them, it's just something I. This is for travel. I'm taking this play with you me everywhere I go. So I take this with me everywhere I go. It has a little hard, like a firm foam gig bag that you can drop. Jeff Keisel told me that I could drop it off my second story of my house. He said he, he would replace my guitar if I was wrong. So I just believe him gonna do it. But anyways, this is what I take everywhere. This is a little excessive, of course. A beautiful luxury to have. It's the same neck, same everything. Obviously the feel of the tension is a little different because of the way the locking mechanisms work. Just feels not the same because there's not a tremolo on it. But this is what I do. So obviously in stuff music, I don't recommend you buy, you know, a thousand, two thousand dollar guitar to travel with. So here's what I recommend very much. You could always go with a used Keezel. Definitely check them out on Guitar Center's website because they are used and there's a great return policy so you can have it shipped to you or to the store and check them out. Sometimes you can find a good deal on there, but if you can't find a good deal, this is already better than the price you just paid. You could get one of these Hills guitars. It's a little. It's a smaller body and then the headstock pokes out a little four. So overall it. It's about the same. Does it give you. Does it give us specifications of length, overall length? I don't know if it does. I don't. I don't know if it does. But I can tell you this, this also includes a gig bag. It's not as robust as the Kiesel one, but it's pretty, pretty good. It's very light. It does feel like a real guitar. It holds like a real guitar. It's really nice. $549. So again, I think if we're looking correctly, that's, yeah, $50 less than what you paid. And this is a real guitar. It just happens to be headless. What's benefits are, look at this. Spent spoke wheel truss rod. So you can make adjustments to the truss rod, stainless steel frets. You don't have to worry about the strings getting hit and denting your frets. It comes with a nice gig bag. This will fit in the overhead of a plane, and you can get it on the plane most time. First of all, you'll get it in your car. And I like to point out one of their main things is, although I fly a lot, I drive more because I tend to travel from Arizona, California or Arizona to New Mexico a lot of. And I like the guitars that fit in my trunk. I have a trunk and it fits. These fit right nicely in my trunk. And what I love about that is, you know, when I'm traveling, I don't like to leave a guitar in like the cab of your vehicle. In my case, it's like a truck. So I don't want to leave it in the cab of the truck because obviously you got to throw a blanket over and hope somebody doesn't smash your window get in it. I like knowing it's in the trunk. So my full size. A full size guitar will not fit in my trunk. Maybe at an angle. Fits in there, but it. But these fit. So they're great for sticking underneath the bench of your back seat of your truck or under the back seat of your car or in your trunk. And also they will fit on the overhead. The airlines will probably still give you grief, but trust me, you can get them on the planes. I do it all the time. That's what I highly, highly recommend to do. Like I said, you can't go wrong. And I think even better is I thought. I thought maybe they're out because of the holidays, but I thought Hills had like a blemished section where you could get deals on seconds and blims. So you might want to keep an eye out for that as well. Now, I've also done like the E Art and other guitars, but here's the thing, and I'm not saying there might be even a new Hills guitar that's even cooler and less money. I'm not saying that, but what I am saying is these guitars are made in Indonesia. They're made really well and there is as good as anything else, especially with the new upgrades with the pickups and all that stuff. Is anything out there and you can travel with it. So that's what I recommend because I can tell you I have a Hills guitar, unfortunately I can't show it to you. The ones in Eyesight right now is not out yet. But I would say if you're not going to pull the scratch for, you know, obviously USA made guitar for travel, which almost seems ridiculous. Hill's guitar for that price compared to what you just paid is a great deal. Okay, so on that note, you know what it's time for. And now it's time for gear of the week. Okay, let's start this week with a new piece of gear. This is the new Joe Bottom Massa limited edition Fuchs amp. This is a based on an overdrive special which is a very famous Dumbo amp. The amp sounds amazing. I'm a huge fan of Joe Bonamassa and Fuchs and the only thing that made me laugh was what he said here. My name is Joe Bonamassa and unlike a Dumble amp that this based on is not a hundred and seventy five thousand dollars, which is a big deal, not everybody has $175,000 for an amplifier and it's $39.99. They're going to be signed by Andy Fuchs and myself and hand numbered as far as amplification in 20, 25. I understand what he's saying and this is definitely the price point for amps in this market. But his $175,000 comment made me think of this. And I make nothing, zero, zilch. By the time I pay all my scientists, all my people in my research department lab coats, it's a wash. Well, why you do it then, baby Billy? Well, cause I'm selfless and I want to heal as many people as the dear Lord lets me. So all kidding aside, I think if it wasn't for the fact that I actually already have an overdrive special type amp with reverb. I think the overdrive special is a great platform for an amp and I think adding reverb's smart and I think, I think it's a great amp. And I also got to tell you, I'm a huge fan of Joe Bonamassa and I thought, in fact my favorite album from him is Dust bowl he's one of the few artists I'm still buying on cd. Isn't that funny? Because I just like listening to it in my system here in the office. And I just thought that that part about the $175,000 was kind of funny because, you know, just was funny. So anyways, let's go to the next. Let's go to the next new piece of gear. So last week we got the new Line 6 Stadium XL, which is their new premium line of modelers at about 22, 20 $300. This week, Axe FX introduced the exact opposite. They went the opposite way with the new AM4. This is the new affordable $799 AX effects unit. Now, 799 puts it in the price range of the HX Stomp and the. Was it the Kemper player? So this is going to be interesting. There's a lot of good and bad about it. Some people saying that obviously, like me, it's going to get you into Axe Effects. If you're a little intimidated by how over the top those menus are and the features are, this is more stripped down. You can't do two amplifiers at one time and other things like that. But essentially, if you're getting into the Axe Effects universe, this would probably be by far the easiest way to do that financially and just mentally just to get into. Of course, if you're an already established Axe Effects user and you just want something smaller and portable, this is a little frustrating for you because of the fact that it's. It's not loaded to bear like some of the premium units and it can't do some of the things. My big thing is about how it sounds. If it sounds good, then that's really where I. I really mostly concerned. So I'd be really interested to see what you guys think. This is one. I would might be curious enough to buy one of these and put it on the channel as a review. Let me know if you guys think that I should do that and we'll definitely consider. Consider it. Okay. So I don't know if this is new or if I just didn't see it until recently, but Fender revamped the Mustang series, which I didn't remember seeing this before, and you could see they kind of took it back a little bit more retro. I like the retro look. I wish it had silver grill cloth. I think the main reason they probably went back to the black, even though it makes it look like an old front man from, you know, 15, 20 years ago, is because now, you know, if they put a silver front on it. It would compete maybe with the Tone Master series. But my thought is for 330 bucks, you put yourself a neo cre back selection in it. You know, now you have an amp under 500 bucks that might sound pretty cool and ultra light, so. Pretty cool. They have a hundred watt model as well. And I'm really curious because I've always liked the Mustang series, but the look was always a little odd to me because it didn't look like Fender. This looks like Fender. So this is pretty cool. All right. I wanted to take a look around and these are deals that either I already own or I end up buying them. The first being this. The Freeman BE Mini 30 watt heads are on blowout at Sweetwater for $99. This is probably not going to last at all, to be honest with you. So if you're still available. Good. So I just want to let you know, I bought one last night and I've done videos of the other mini heads. And I got to tell you, there's a Saldano. There's a Bogner you can also get if we go back. I think I saved it for you. I think they're out of the Bogners, but they have the Diesels as well. For $99. They're not offering the Saldano for the $99. Out of all the mini heads, the Friedman was my favorite for two reasons. One, I like Friedman amps, but the main thing for me was this was one that cleaned up so you could actually run this clean and run a pedal through it and get some kind of clean sound out of it. It's a single channel amp and essentially it's just a 30 watt or 30 watt class D power amp. The thing that's cool, and I mentioned this before, is it has an effects loop. So you could actually put something like a preamp into the return of this and just use this as a 30 watt power amp. It's pretty tiny. It does have this big wall wart looking thing, but very cool. But for 99 bucks, man. And like I said, they also have the Diesel 1 for $99. I did not see these deals anywhere else. So it's got to be some kind of Sweetwater exclusive. When I check over at Guitar center, they're still showing them for $249. But when you put it in the cart, they give you 10% off, which just makes it 225. So I'll put a link down below. The other thing I picked up was The Ernie Ball five pack strings for $24.95. That put them back to $5 a pack. Again from $8 a pack, $7.99. Three bucks off you get a five pack. I did a five pack of each. These M audio graphite, graphite, five inch active studio monitors are $49 each or two for $99. Obviously that makes sense. I think this. If you're looking for some cheap, good studio monitors, let's look at the back. These are powered studio monitors. They have some basic frequency responses and acoustic space responses. These are going to be great if you want to just get your little micro studio going, something like that for a hundred bucks. They're just good to have. The other thing is I didn't pick one of these up and I just wanted to share it. They have the white hello Kitty guitars marked down from 579 to 399. Obviously they're not as valuable as the pink ones, but I know you guys love hello Kitty stuff. It comes with a gig bag and they let you know the weights. Here's one for 6lbs 9oz. That would be the one to get. So something to think about if you're interested in those. And then this is a pedal I currently own and I absolutely love. This is the jrocket Audio Melody Overdrive. This is the Mark Lethierry pedal. This is one of my favorite overdrives in the world. I use this probably the most for the last two years. It's just a really good overdrive. Don't let the EQ scare you. It's pretty basic. You just dial in a sound and go. This price point is about what they're going for used. And so that's why I wanted to point it out. The thing I will also tell you is if you go on Sweetwater or Guitar center and look at pedals like for instance, this Saldano Super Lead overdrive. I have a video of this where I did a review. $169 is what they're going for used. So this is a good price used. I mean normally 200 bucks. So it's not like a huge discount, but they hold value. Next week you'll be paying, you know, this price for a used one. And so there are some deals out there for sure. And let's, let's move on. So what I want to talk about on the Black Friday deals is that don't focus on the stuff that's always going on sale like Tonx or Spark or things like that. If you want that stuff and it's a deal, get it. But I'm just saying don't, don't think that the brands that are constantly putting themselves on sale are giving you a deal. Really what you want to think about is the good brands like Gibson, Fender, Friedman, you name it, that are just overstocked right now because yeah, this is Black Friday. But really there's a lot of companies that are inventory rich, cash poor. They're just aligning their inventories. They just have too much product. They, you know, they loaded it in and we're not buying as much. So they got to kind of get it thinned out so that they could pretty much run price increases in January. So I'm looking at the Fender's website. I want to take a look at a couple of things Fender and I noticed a couple deals here that I thought were worth checking out. The first was, you know, this is a good guitar cable right here. This is the festival hemp cable. It's cool, it's different. It's normally $48 on sale for 25 bucks. 24 bucks. 24 bucks. You get a 10 foot cable with a angled end. It's a nice quality cable with a good warranty from fender. Right. It's 100% hemp, which is, I think is cool. The 18 footer is just a few dollars more. Six bucks more at 30 dol. So if you're looking for a cool cable that's something different, that's fun and, and basically that's half off. So that's a legit deal. They have a natural as well, and this brown stripe as well. I actually like the green, but whatever works. So that's a good deal because you can always use a cable and a deal like that. It's a good quality cable. The other thing is there's a lot of Squires on sale and a lot of Fenders and of course anything usa. You definitely want to focus if you're gonna get a deal. The Squires, the deals are really good right now as well. So if you're looking to save some money, that's a good idea. But another thing I wanted to show you was fun was this kit right here. This isn't a huge discount. It's normally 32 bucks. It's $10 off. This is a little arch workstation. It comes in like what's like a shaving kit bag right there. But what's cool is it's got this cool neck cradle you see right there. And then the bottom is a tray to put all your stuff in that says Fender It's Fender branded. It's fun and you know, so if you're looking for a gift or just a small travel kit for 23 bucks. 23 bucks, that's kind of fun. I would definitely look at that. The, the main thing I wanted to show you was these guitar necks. There's a lot of guitar necks here. Here's a made in Japan traditional 50s neck for a strat, normally $500 for $400. Here's a made in Japan hybrid two strat neck with 22 narrow tall frets, 9.5 radius, $500 on sale for 400 bucks. Necks are definitely a thing that once they kind of right size their inventory with this they are not going to want to blow out necks. Especially ones made in Japan, USA or Mexico. So think about that. Here's a road worn 60s neck. Now it's made in Mexico, but $329. Normally $500. That is where you put your money. And because it's a relic, think of this. This is a relict made in Mexico neck with a Fender warranty on it, seven and a quarter inch radius. It's up to you guys that. But 330 bucks, that's something that if you, if you get something like this, I think that's where you've really put some money to work. This is not a great deal, but I wanted to share it anyways. 75 bucks, it's kind of crazy. This is just a work mat, but I love that it comes in tweed or the silver face grill cloth. This is not actual the grill, the material, this is just a graphic on a foam, like a neoprene type roller. But look, 80 bucks is ridiculous. Or 75 bucks. $50 is still ridiculous. But how cool is that? Just I wanted to share and again, you know, this is one of those things. This could be fun. That's not so much a priority though. That just was for fun. Other than that, this is all the real deals. I see there's a lot of squires, a lot of guitars and I found some retailers giving you some of these deals. But just to give you a forensic something to think about. Let's go back and show you this. We were talking about the hello Kitties in white. So the hello Kitty in black is 579, but it's out of stock. The white one is in stock, it's 579. So even Fender. Oh, sold out. So Fender's not even giving you a deal on this. So that's why I was pointing out that deal from, from Sweetwater. So I want to go one more place. Here's a place that's really important. Stu Mac, they've definitely been doing massive deals all year. There was a couple things I saw that there are must haves. This is my absolute. I told you guys, I have three of these. I have one here in my office, one here in my shop, and one of my to go tackle box. I, I paid 50 bucks for these, which I said was ridiculous. They were on sale for, you know, 30. Now they're on sale for 26 bucks. That's the right price of this. 25 bucks. 26 bucks. Get one of these. It's, it's, it's worth its weight in gold and what it will, what you can use it for. The other deal I saw from them, it's really good. And keep in mind their shipping rates are ridiculous. But as long as you get, you know, spend like 100 bucks, it's going to add 10 bucks. This is another good thing. The multi spanner. Not a huge deal, 10% off. But this is another tool that I absolutely love you use. You see me using it in all the videos and that's the important part. I'm not like showing you stuff just because it's a deal or you know, it's on sale. I'm showing you stuff that I, I use in every video. And so you might as well, if you're going to get that stuff, save yourself some money. Stumac has definitely been the most aggressive I've seen in years with discounts. And so just be aware of that stuff. Some of the stuff though, you got to keep in mind they're really kind of all the same when it comes to this. They give you a good deal and then the rest of the stuff's like, eh, so just be a little like, you know, stuff that's like normally 26 bucks for 23. That's not a big one. But this 50% off. This is something to go with even if you add in the shipping now it's, it's a little on the pricier side, but it's still doable. So think about that. So check out the Stu Mac as well. And wrong screen. All right, here's another thing that I thought would be pretty cool. So I bought one of these back in 2024 in August. This video has almost a million views on it. And at the time I think this thing was $120 or $109 and then it shot up to 150. So it's back down to 117 unless you get this surf green one, which takes it to 125. This was a fantastic guitar. This is only available through Amazon. This is like a Squire, a kind of an Amazon exclusive. And I said it in the video, then I'll say it now. This is definitely because Fender just doesn't want to lose to all of the Amazon sellers. So they made a specific model that's not available to the dealers just here. And so if you're looking for an entry level 100 guitar, this is the way to go for sure. And so it's a legitimate price difference because like I said, they were getting 150 and selling no problem. If you guys like this segment, this idea, let me know. If you want to make it better, help me out by sending me some deals. You see, you can send it to the asknowyourgearmail.com email address. I'll put the link in the description. Don't send me your life story. Just send me the deal that you see on gear and where the link to where you're getting it or the mom and pop store that's offering it. Also, if you see new gear or new exciting things, same thing. Don't send me a long story. Just send me what you found and that will help help us out. Gear of the week. So I'm gonna look to see what questions you guys have. Hold on a second. See as we go through and. Okay, off topic, but we'll go with it. Larry wants to know, have I tried Phil Jones amps? I own two Phil Jones amps currently. I've owned a few, few in the past. I like them. I wouldn't recommend them, most of them to anyone who likes a low B string, although you can use them on a low B string. I. I have no problem obviously with them. And I'm using them for quiet practice. They're a little overkill. One of the things about them is kind of funny is, you know, for. Basically you could get the Fender Rumble 110 combo for like 199 or something like that. And I AB'd them in. The Defender was pretty close. I mean, I thought the Phil Jones sounded better. The main thing about the Phil Jones is they're just super, super small. And I use it like a tabletop amp. Almost like you'd use the spark. So something to think about that. Let's see scrolling some more. And you guys said, grungy Chris wants to know, is that Friedman a tube amp? That is not. So the Friedman is a class D amplifier, which means it's basically a solid state or digital solid state amplifier. 30 watts. It's going to be pretty loud. Not as loud. Think of it this way. It's not 30 watts. Digital is not going to be as loud in my experience as maybe the 50 watt katana, but pretty close. Pretty close. And I've done reviews of everyone but the Friedman head, which is funny. They sent those out and they didn't send me. The Freedman had. My guess is at the time was maybe because the Friedman head was going to sell the best out of all of them. So you guys know I, I really like the Friedman. The Saldano is fun. Like, if you want a Saldano sound at a very quiet volume, you could get the Saldano head. It's great. But the Friedman is the best because like I said, you can, you can clean it up and run pedals through it. And that's what I liked about it. I could run it both ways and it opens up really nice. Think of it this way. If you compare that Friedman mini head to like one of my real fried, one of my 50 watt tube Freeman heads, I can tell you that when you have to play at bedroom volume, the Friedman mini sounds more like the Freeman does than the Friedman itself at those low volumes. Let's see. Han 36 Solo said, Solid State is not digital. I know, it's just class D is. We're not going to get into it. But I understand what you're saying. It's this. You make everybody mad either way if you call it solid state or if you call it a digital amplifier. So I just call it solid state digital so people will be quiet because I really don't care. It's the same technology. It's basically so, you know, almost all those amplifiers use the same power sections that are made in Taiwan. So it's going to have like the same power section as like the, the crate power block. And. And pretty much every class D amplifier they get out there, they all source them for essentially the same spots. Let's see. What Wade Wade 6242 says. Good evening, Phil. Your thoughts on any of the vertex petal buffer are buffer or buffers in general? I don't use any buffer petals. I don't have to because I have boss petals. Every boss petal is essentially a buffer petal. I mean, you could get a specific buffer pedal if you need to. You know, if you need to. Like you're running tons and tons of cable. Two things keep in mind. I don't run big pedal boards so I'm not running, you know, 15 or a dozen or two dozen short little three pack, three inch cables and then I'm not running it through tons of pedals and I'm not running two 25 foot cables in your direction. That's not kind of what my rig would be. First of all, my pedal board, my biggest pedal board, which would be right here to my right, has two, four, six, eight. Wow. Does that have, it has eight pedals. That's the most I think I've ever ran before. So eight petals. And, and, and of those, two of them are boss. So the boss takes care of the buffer for me, for my needs. So yeah, just, yeah, and I use a Boss 2 tuner or anything like that. Any kind of boss buffer will work. And I've not tried any of the vertex stuff other than, so I never came back to Vertex. So, you know, vertex pedals. Vertex pedals. I had a bad experience not with Vertex. I don't want to say anything bad about vertex pedals. The problem I had was, you know, these pedal companies. I didn't realize when I started doing YouTube. You have to understand, I, I kind of, I'm a guitar freak. So obviously I work on guitars. I love guitars. Everything's about guitars or basses, of course, but to me those are just four string guitars. But so, so anyways, I, I, I really didn't understand the pedal communities at the time. There's not really, they're, they're their own specific thing. It'll cause me, it causes me drama. Just like Everybody who's on YouTube. Every time you talk about the pedal communities, the pedal communities are very, there's a lot of guitar communities, there's a pickup guitar community, there's pedal guitar communities, there's amplifier communities, there's modeling communities. So think of it this way. You have generalized guitar fanatics, people who love music and guitar, and then they have all the gear that they love. Some are just into acoustics, some are in electrics, and then there's all these subsets of all these fanatical like things that you love. And although, like I'm really into certain things, maybe like guitar pickups, I'm not specifically that, like, I don't focus on that. The reason I say that is that when I started making YouTube, I had no idea that, that they're like the pedal communities were such a, like, all the communities were so intense. So, so when I did my very first, it doesn't exist anymore, I took it down, I did a vertex pedal because at the Time, you know, companies were sending pedals to the channel. The channel was new, and I was like, oh, okay, I'll do some pedal videos. And then I would buy pedals. And I feel like one in every five pedals I bought was just a massive headache. And Vertex was. I don't even know what the issue with Vertex was. I remember I bought the pedal and I just got inundated with emails about something about they had imported a Chinese. This is how I remember it. Something about a Chinese wah pedal that was rebranded as Vertex. I've since understand the owner has apologized or corrected what the issue was, and it was just a lot of drama back then and just made me stay the heck away from it. And then I remember a couple years later thinking, like, I feel bad. Like, I. I really sucked at that. It. Whatever happened, I stepped in other words, I did the pedal video and talked about their battle. And then all this, like, how could you support this company? They're so bad, by the way. This has happened many times. I don't want to bring them all up, but there's a couple companies. A couple. One company. I got the same thing. People just became very hostile and angry about these. These. These pedal communities seem to get really intense. There seem to be a little bit more intense than the other groups of communities. But I'm. I could be wrong. They're all probably intense. But I reach out to Vertex. I thought this, like, seven, eight years ago, saying, hey, I tried to do one of your videos and there was some heat. I'd like to do another one if you're interested, you know, and kind of like. Kind of get the sense of the story. And I never got anything back, so I just left it all alone. And there's a couple companies like, that I just have stayed away from because although I'm sure the product's great, and I'm really. Obviously, I love the pedal that I. That I bought from them. I just. I find it. It happens in the guitar side, but more so in the pedal side. So I just stay away from it. It's just not, you know, what it is for something that I want to do mostly for fun and enjoy myself and enjoy life and share it with other people. Just whenever it brings, like, the. These, like, I don't know, whatever these groups are, they get really upset. It just kind of bums you out, and you just stay away from it. Let's see. Mookie Shoot says was a BBE wall that he re relabeled as his own. Just. Just slapped a New logo on them and upcharged. Okay, that's kind of what I remember. Something like that. And I guess that had happened and then. And it happened. Like I said, I don't want to bring them all up. I even feel bad about bringing that one up because like I said, he. That wasn't the only one. There was two other pedal companies. I did a same thing, a pedal video. And then the, the emails were like, how could you support this evil pedal company who's doing all these horrible things to people? And I'm like, well, it's because I'm not on the forums every night learning who's the new evil person to be mad at. I didn't know. So, yeah, so I've. There you go. I. Maybe I'll come back to him again. Let's see. Gone Fall. I'm hoping to say it right. Gone Fall says, I do love the guitar community. Drama and wars and choosing a side on purpose is to stir the pot. Yeah, I love guitars. He said, I love guitars. Yeah. You know, the, the, the drama doesn't affect me now nearly as much as it used to. It was more of confusion all the time like what. What is going on? What happened? I'm like, I just made a video. I thought everybody were like, hey, check this out. I don't know. Tom says, hey Phil, I see the Sweetwater has the boss Katana 100 Gen 3 on their black Friday sale. Do you have an opinion on this unit? I like it. I prefer the 50 although has less features but just because physically size. I just physically want a smaller amp. I don't use them to play in front of people or go jam with band or anything. I just use them as actual practice amp. So I, I liked it to take as small as a footprint as possible for me personally because I'm again I'm using it like as a. As a. Just a little practice amp. So little or the better. To this day I wish Boss Katana would come out with like a 25 watt amp. I think that would be really great. All right, so okay, what else do we got? We said Sean Brooks says, hey, I never understood the market for Micro heads collectors. Question mark. It's like almost the price of a katana. Well, they were when they were 300 bucks that when I did those videos I think that was the most like the normal criticism was for the 330 bucks that you could buy a Katana. I could see that point. I mean obviously if you know, if you're for a value proposition, of course the Katana is hard to beat. We all know that. That's why the katana not only is reigns supreme in the $300 price point for what it does, but it's why everyone's trying to make one. Like the new Mustang or the old Mustang or of course, you know, the Cat, the Catalyst by line six, and of course the Black Star. Everybody's trying to hit that price point and make something like that. So I get that $99, obviously, look, I don't know if $99 is, is the cost, the raw cost landed on something like that, or if it's less than cost. My guess is it's less than cost. My guess is that this is a. Look, the Black Friday sales are going to be a mix usually every year of three things. And I'm just made of three. So I got to come up with three things right now. You're going to have, you know, essentially we know the loss leaders. Some things will just be like, let's get people excited and get them in the door, right? We can get rid of these things. Kind of like back in the day when, you know, and when Guitar center would have like a 10 pack of strings for 10 bucks or a SM57 microphone for 49.95, they would have deals like that all the time. Or 29.95, then you're going to have some, some bogus sales for sure, right? They've raised the price and then they kind of put it back down or they basically just say that they, you know, gave it a sale and they didn't. And then there is where companies, especially right now, are inventory rich and cash poor. In other words, there's just too much inventory and they have too much of it. You know, as we've been hearing all year, it's like, oh, prices, all the tariffs, all these things, the price is going up. Price is going up. Think about this. There is five videos that I've watched in the last 30 days on YouTube of people in the industry or just YouTube channels that are in the YouTube community with some kind of weight behind them. In other words, like, I'm not talking about a very small upstart channel that's like, you know, peeking through and showing you something that no one's seeing. These are established channels and companies saying price increases are happening and you guys aren't gonna, you know, the price increases and it's price increases. In fact, one in particular I watched recently flat out said that basically prices are going to go up. And there's. And they use some examples and every single one of the examples they used and said that these prices are, if you think these are high, wait, do you see what they come to? All every single one of their examples is on blowout right now on Black Friday for less than what they were saying. So my point is, is that we know that you can use Black Friday to not only make some sales and get the, you know, get some volume going, but I think they're also using it to realign their inventory lines, especially in this industry. I think all industries are doing at some point, but this is definitely what they're doing it. And so we're gonna see that. So that's, I, I would imagine the, the Friedman be Mini goes away. That's what I would imagine that's what we're seeing here is them just, you know, blowing them out. They either have way too many and they want to thin them down and then maybe next year they'll put the price back up and let it out or it'll just be gone or those, some of those heads will be gone. And my guess is the Saldano probably isn't on sale because maybe it's, they don't have that many of them. So they know it's going to, you know, they'll, they'll attrition out over time. They'd probably just have too much of something to. Because think about this. I, I mentioned the, the be the Freeman be Mini last night to my patrons and to, to some of the channel people out there. And so many of you guys clicked the links. We saw the link click. My guess is just from what I saw sell off my links, they should be sold out and they're not. So that tells you that they have way more than I thought. And then, and then of course there's also realignments getting ready for next year. This industry is also notoriously known for like, hey, January is our big push. We're going to have new stuff for January. And so even though new products should come out right before Christmas and get people excited, like the toy industry and other industries, the guitar industry has always been like the hey, buy up our stuff before so we can release new stuff. So. And that happens a lot too. That ties into a question I got. There's two here. Hold on a second. There is, I don't know, I don't see it now. I don't know what I did. I grabbed it. I, I, I just grabbed it. So the question was, what do I think will be? Oh, you know what? I think Amanda grabbed it too. So I don't have to guess. So Amanda's been pumping a ton of questions at me, so let me see if I can get them. Okay. Nope. Yeah, this ties, ties into. This is poodle guitar. Guitar. I don't know. No, it's not even guitar. I just see. I must see guitar. Everything I see, it's, it's guide. I don't know. Anyways, it says, hey Phil, do you have other thoughts about what's the most popular guitar being bought this year? So what's the most popular guitar bought this year? Specifically what model? I wouldn't know. You know, you know, who knows? It's one of those things where I feel like a lot of that data is never seems to be accurate anyways. Or at least somewhat not accurate. What, what brand of guitars? What type of guitars? I think Prsse had another banger crazy year where they moved a ton of units and I think it's twofold. I think they came out with a lot of good stuff. Think of this. It's like I feel like a, you know, like a, you know, one of those ESPN sports thing. I think they started out strong this year with a bunch of new products and they, they kept momentum, excitement coming out every few months with a new product keeping people excited and focused on it. And then of course their end of year sale is really smart. So you guys know I, I mentioned to you guys, those of you guys who pay attention, I mentioned you guys when they were doing the sale, I announced it, I said, hey, they're doing this big 20% off sale for the end of the year. And I told you guys then that it's a good time to get a deal on one of those guitars because 20% off is a legit discount in this industry. But also I mentioned that hey, if you want to see, you never know, they might be discounting because there's something new coming. And I think slowly now people are seeing it. So I kind of feel okay to share with you guys. So there's a lot of changes that are going to happen with Seline going forward. Let me show you. I can show you some stuff. So. This was a funny guitar because it was actually on my back wall. This is out. This isn't a secret guitar. But I did laugh. Somebody was angry at me. They definitely felt. It felt like you were angry with me if you weren't angry with me. It came across that way. Angry because I, I had misspoke. I don't know how that, you know, and I didn't. They just didn't know, apparently. So let me just show you. So this is a Paul reesmith hollow body 2. You guys are familiar with that, but this is the new one. Now this is out. I'm not showing you anything that's pre released, but I'm going to show you using this to explain why SE is being clearanced out right now. Okay, so there are some changes to SEs. These are going to happen to all the SEs. The first thing, as you guys saw, is they went to the lampshade knobs on the. On the guitars. The second thing is they have new pickup rings. So they have these new rounded pickup rings. They're not exactly like the USA ones. They just vibe like that. So that's another change happening. This particular se, semi hollow, hollow body, not semi hollow. This is full hollow. Full hollow body guitar. If you're familiar with it, used to be $1500 is now $1800. But it went from being made in China to now being made in Indonesia. That's what the person was mad about. I said, I mentioned it was made in Indonesia. And they said, no, it's not. It's made in China. And I'm like, well, it was. Now it's made in Indonesia because now it's no longer bent top and back. It's carved just like the USA core version. So this is actually carved out of maple back and top. So this is carved. The other changes, they're now going to the Byrd tuning keys, those plastic tuning keys. So if you hate those or love them, you, you know, deal with that. The other thing is this looks black. I'm sorry, the camera won't pick it up, but it's not black. It's. It's rosewood. So just like the USA models, it has a rosewood veneer. Not all of them are getting that, but most of them are getting that. So they're getting a lot of aesthetic changes to be more like the core guitars. Obviously the tops are gorgeous. Right. The other change that happened or is going to happen, hold on a second. Is. Is if you're familiar with the pure SSE brown gig bag, they're going away. They will now be black and they'll say prsse on them like this. And that may not sound like a big deal, but if you're familiar with Ses, here's what happened. I leaked this to my patrons and it's fine because like I said, some of you have these gig bags because they're shipping with the newer version se. So if you're getting the newest version SES you're getting this gig bag. What they changed was they didn't like those foam blocks. You guys remember that PRs, if you got an SE, you got this weird gray foam block, and it went on the top of your headstock. Now what they did is they added this new. See this piece here? So you see here this thing, Velcros. And what that does is you put the guitar in there, and then you can use this to kind of pull down on the headstock. And I should show you. Let's just do it. All right. Okay. So here's how it's gonna look. You put the headstock in there. You take this. This. You pull it down tight, and then Velcro it. And what happens is the guitar is now in the gig bag perfectly. So PRS is making upgrades to all the SEs in a lot of ways. And of course, they probably were overstocked on top of stuff like everybody else. But that's the reason why you're getting discounts. And then you'll slowly just see the upgraded SEs come. So like I said before, like I told you guys before, this is where it's a tough time of year. I love. Everybody's opinions are so finite. I saw somebody like Black Friday deals are fake. Well, not all of them. Some of them are legit deals. Not only will you not see them probably ever again, they're probably going to be in January, not only back to normal prices, but jacked up because their new product is going to cost more. And so that's something I hear constantly with talking to the companies is they're all like, yeah, we're raising prices. I'm like, good luck with that. But I understand. But right now, they need two right size inventories. Now, again, that's not everybody, but it's some. Some. And then, like I said, some companies are just running a discount to get their sales up, and some are not running a discount at all. Let's. Let's go here. This is says, hey, Phil, Black Friday. BS Jeers, jeers with a J. Jeers to strings and beyond. Who for Black Friday raise their prices by three bucks on the strings. I buy. So for. So the. For the 15 off sale black Friday sale, I only would save about 25 cents. No, thank you. And that's why we. We talk about this stuff, because exactly that. You know, I'm not here to tell you, like, every deal is great. That's why I said everything I said, check your deals, check your deals. If that's something you're you're interested in. Like I said, if you're interested in it, you should. If there's a deal on it, maybe should motivate you to do it. The somebody mentioned, by the way, we have links for the black. The Friedman mini heads both at Amazon and Sweetwater. Somebody mentioned that they're. Because I said that they're only available at Sweetwater. Somebody says they're at Amazon as well. They're on Amazon because it's Sweetwater. That's Sweetwater. Store selling on Amazon. Oh, wow. We did it. Okay, ready? There's nine left. So there you go. You guys killed them. See, that's. That makes sense. The less than. So if you're thinking about getting one, I bought one last night, and I'm gonna. I'm gonna tell you now what I'm gonna do with it because I have plans for it. I didn't buy it. Look, it's 99 bucks. I thought about it. I'm like, who could I buy one of these for? I was like, I already kind of done most my Christmas shopping. So I was like. And I actually came up with a perfect use for it. So I go, okay. It's great that it's 99 bucks. Let me show you. So I have. Let me go to Cam 2. I have. As you guys know, I've been using the Kemper player as a small, portable rig to play and play guitar with and stuff, and I really like it. But I got my hands on something else, and I've been trying stuff. As you know, I tried all the UA pedals. I finally got on my hands and went through those, and then I tried, you know, everything I could try, and I. I fell in love with. And I'm here. This is where I'm at. I got the Imperial Tone King preamp pedal. You know, it pains me to say this, as a. As a. As a Freedman fan, I have the Friedman irx, just not in the same league. No offense to the Friedman RX or any of those. They're. They're very nice. But the Tone King Imperial is fantastic. You know what we'll do? We're not doing guitar of the week, but since I do have the Headless, and I'm gonna hope it's in tune, because that's the whole point of Headless is they should always be in tune. Let's turn on the thing. Okay, Let me switch you over to see it. So this is a two channel. This is all tube three preamp tubes. There's just a preamp. It's very expensive. It's 600. So think about this 600, and all you get is preamp. But what you're listening to right now is this microphone cable plugged in the back into my mixer. You're not hearing any room mics other than me. I'm going to turn me off in a second. I'm going to play the clean channel. It's got its own reverb and tremolo. I'm playing the guitar, and I'll. I'll play it so you can hear how this preamp sounds. Now, when I say I'm going to use the Freeman, here's what I'm going to do. I'm. When I want to have practice, I'm going to use the output of this Tone King Imperial pedal and just run it into the return of that Friedman amp and power a cabinet. And I'll have a little. Little practice rig that's perfect for me because I love this preamp pedal. I like this pedal. I just told the owner, told the owner last week, I like this pedal more than I like the Imperial amp, and I really like the imperial amp, but I like this better. So let me do the clean for you. Okay. I'm going to mute my mic, and you're going to be hearing direct. So this is a direct recording. This is guitar to this with the reverb into my mixer. Man, that reverb's awesome. Okay, now when I do switch the channel, this is the overdrive channel, which is using an attenuation. Here you go. I don't know how it's going to come across, you guys. I just want you to know I. I absolutely love this, and I don't know why, other than the fact that has three preamp tubes versus the Freeman IRX that has two. I don't know what is so magical about it, and I doubt. I doubt 90% of what I love about it isn't coming through. It's just not gonna. Which is in this room. On my monitors right now, it just sounds like I'm playing through a little tube amp. It sounds fantastic. So the idea, I can just throw that into some powered, you know, powered amplifier and run that through a cabinet, too. If I want a cabinet. It just sounds like a fun thing to have. Um, so therapy says hitting was gaga over, too. Yeah. So is Michael Nielsen. You know Michael Nielsen, if you don't know his channel, I talk about all the time because we're friends. So let's just be clear about that. I love his channel, but we became friends because I appreciate his channel and I would do shout outs and. And we started talking and in a personal conversation, talking about gear, he mentioned this was like the best preamp pedal he's ever heard. And I go, okay. And that, you know, you know, it's a thing he said. And then I finally got an opportunity to try one. And I was like, okay, that's it. I'm done. That's great. You know, my hold back was. Imagine what a lot of your guys hold back is.600 is crazy money for a preamp pedal. That's a lot of money. You know, in retrospect, you know, I could get a good Blackstar tube amp for 600 bucks. That sounds good too. But I just. It's not so much the preamp, even though it's amazing, it's just direct into my speakers. Just sounded fantastic. And no trying. I didn't have to try. I don't have to program. I don't have to do anything. Matt says. Does it have IRS built in? Yeah. Let me show it to you. So this isn't like an official review or anything. So what you have here is you have impulse responses for each channel. So you see here, this is. See where it says the cabs right here? So you have two. So we can switch that. So I can switch that to different impulse responses. I believe you can actually download your own impulse responses. There's a lot going on in the back. Let me. Let me show you what's going on. So it has its own effects loop. It can do a four cable method. I would do a video on this, and I might. So, you know, but I'm going to tell you right now, the best video on this ever is Michael Nilsson's. If you watch that, it's so good, it might confuse some of you because it's a little over the. He's like. He going crazy with it. But he. That's what you can do with that thing, is what Michael. Michael Nielsen did with it. And I just love it. So, yeah, that was kind of like when I saw a $99 freedman. Like, oh, I could throw that in there. So, you know, I gave my power block. I had a great power block. I gave it away to a friend and I never used it. And then of course, I needed it for a situation where I was like, oh, if I could just have just something to plug power. I needed to plug something into a power source to plug into a speaker, and I didn't have it. And so the freedman for 99 bucks, it's probably going to live its life unfortunately, like in my trunk. And so if I'm somewhere I have like a preamp or that maybe that the camper player, I'll be like, oh, if I need, I can run it right into power, right into a cabinet. I can always find a cabinet. So I, I just never seem to have an amplifier for some reason. And music gear, why you YouTube channel. You yt channel said music gear. YouTube channel says they're all gone. The Freemans are all gone. Look at that. The. Let me confirm back ordered more on the way. So we did it. We. We killed them. So trust me, I thought about buying two, but I just couldn't. I couldn't do it. I couldn't. I couldn't bring myself to two. Now I kind of miss. Miss. I'm kind of like, maybe I should have bought two. I don't, I don't need to. 99 bucks. Don't be greedy. It was great. I don't have use for another one. The Jeff wants to know what do I think of the. About the stage right 2:30 tube. Jeff, if you're the one sent to me, somebody sent me the stage right 30 tube link and I looked at it. Was it like 129 or something? It was really good deal. I had not done enough research. So if you notice when I'm doing these recommendations, I know it's Black Friday. I know everybody's pushing Black Friday stuff. I, you know, it's dumb not to because, you know, we all get affiliate links and if you're gonna buy this stuff and at this point it's not like you're gonna call and get much better deal than $99 on stuff. So if you use my link, of course I'll make a couple bucks. Somewhere between two to three dollars, two to four dollars. I can make as much as four dollars on that business. Two dollars, which trust me, that adds up. So it makes sense to obviously mention it. You know, if, if you have links. Not everything I talk about today, just like always has links. Some has links, some not. I try to 5050 blend it so it don't. So I don't. So I don't come across bias as much. Right. Obviously, you know, if you buy the Bonamassa fugue sample, I'm not getting a piece of that. But what's my point? My point is like the stage right 30. I try to stick with stuff that I either buy myself, I bought recently myself, stuff I have that I like or stuff that's just. This is such a Good deal. You guys should know about it and, and stay away from anything I'm not too sure of because again, this is different than doing a review where I'm critiquing it and spending time and I can give you an informed opinion. I don't want to be like, just buy this guys, you'll love it. And then you guys get it and go, it sucked. And I'm like, well, I didn't buy one, so I guess I didn't have to worry about it. So like I said, if I wasn't willing to spend my own cash, you know. Yeah. Let's see what else. Music. Music in gear. YouTube channel says thanks for the shout out. You're welcome. You're welcome. Let's see. Fernando says the Diesel is still in stock. I like the Diesel. So, you know, I, I've tried them all, all the mini heads. My favorite is the Freeman because it was one of the only ones I could get to clean up. It's a one channel ant and it's just that one trick pony things tough. The Diesel, the Saldano and the Bogner were harder to clean up for me, but I would say in, in preference, the Bogner would be the next one to clean up for me. And then the sell. The Diesel and then the Saldana was probably the least hard, the hardest, not the least, but the least likely cleanup for me in my personal. Liking the 4. I like the Friedman, then the Saldano, then the Bogner, then the Diesel. But also keep in mind there is a, there is a problem there. And here's the problem. I've never played a real Diesel, so I had no idea if the Diesel sounded like it's supposed to sound or not. So I was just like, to me, the Freedman sounded like a Freedman. The Saldano had a Saldano vibe, the Bogner had the Bogdner vibe. So I assume the Diesel has the Diesel vibe. But I didn't know. So that's why I said I mentioned the Diesel. But I didn't really kind of push on it because again, although I tried it, I liked it. I did prefer the Friedman for what, what I like. And then Matt Hatter says the Diesel is going to be the next one to grab. Sure. Of course it's, I mean, like I said, I have a full video on them and they're all good, especially for 99 bucks. It's my guess is that when then the dust settles and you decide a couple months from now, you know, after you use it, if you go, ah, you Know, I impulse bought that. I don't need it. You'll be able to get your 100 bucks. You'll take it down. I can't imagine you can't walk into a music store somewhere and they just. You don't get your 100 bucks back in trade for something. Okay. And then Nathaniel says, hey, can you still order the freedman for $99 when they ship, when they come in? I don't know. So, you know, it says notify me when stock. I don't know if you can add it to cart. You can always do it. It won't hurt. They might get another shipment. You never know, they might get another one. So. And if they don't, then, you know, no, no, it's not like they're gonna keep your money or anything, so. All right, next. Next comment question. I saw Amanda got me this one. Actually, you know what? I'm gonna grab this one first. This one's from a couple weeks ago and which just came in my feed. As you guys know, I've disabled Super Chats, or maybe you don't know that I've disabled Super Super Chats. And the reason. I just want to give you the reason. The reason I disabled Super Chats was there was a lot of comments. Not negative. They're just critiques. There's a difference between just being an and then a critique. Okay, everybody can critique, but some people are just horrible at it. They were critiques and the critiques were that, you know, a lot of the same people, although I appreciate them very much, were asking questions and doing super chats and it was kind of like the vibe was like, we're getting a lot of the same commentary, questions and stuff. And so I go, okay, let's disable them. And so that's what we've done. Yes, it is. You know, it's income loss, obviously, not having ads on the live part of the show and not doing the things has a financial effect. But I think overall I feel. I feel like the channels, the podcast is better for it and I'm enjoying it more. And that's really, sadly enough, it. It matters the most. Because if I'm not enjoying it, I'm not going to come every Friday, especially on holidays like this. And so I gotta be, you know, juiced, excited to share with you guys stuff. So that's why we did that. But so I'm. I am grabbing comments. A lot of you guys are like, you never grab my comments. I'm actually getting better with that. We're grabbing ones that we miss and putting them aside, and we might answer them a couple weeks out. But I will tell you that for those of you who, like, really like to say, hey, look, I'd like to be able to ask you a question or do a topic. You can join the patron thing. And so you know the bonus podcast, it's like 99%, 99%. I answer every. Every question or topic asked on those. It's just letting you know I'm not telling you to do it. I'm just saying that if that was something you were super chatting and you were like, hey, I really want to get information to you, you could just. For $5. I mean, half the super chats were $5. For $5, you can just do it on this. On the, on the patron thing. So. Okay, so where was I at? Oh, this question said. It was a couple weeks ago. It says, hey, Phil, do you have any experience wiring a dummy coil to. To buck a single coil? Hum if sue. If so, if so, do you think they'd take away a Strat's Strat Stratiness? Okay, I'll add a switch to toggle the dummy on and off. That's a great idea. On the, on the, the switch. That would be. I have. I've never wired up a guitar with a dummy coil in it. So for reference. Yes. I'm going to draw badly now, so be prepared. Sorry, guys, but it's how it's going to go. What happens is when you have a Strat, you have three coils, okay. And then you have your three volume knobs. And what a lot of people do besides drop their cap to their pen, a dummy coil is where usually underneath the pick guard. This is my pick guard or first, so to speak. Right. So, okay. I just want you to see the shape of the guitar. I know it doesn't make sense, but I need, I need to show you this. What they do a lot of times, they'll put it in the back sometimes, but a lot of them, they'll route underneath the pick guard and they'll put another coil this way. Okay. And they wire that in. And the reason they wire that in is with this coil engaged, you essentially have a humbucker, but because it's not underneath the strings, it's. It's not, you know, it's not changing the sound of the single coils. You get the actual true single coil tone. Sometimes you can actually remove the slugs. That works too. This is also common. So, you know, some people will take a humbucker like this and you can remove the screws. So usually your screws are on this side. Your screws are normally towards your bridge or towards your neck. And just because it's easier than popping out the slugs, they'll remove your six screws. If you do that, you'll get essentially a single coil again. And you can do it that way as well. So he says it looks like a weather nap. I know the drawing's bad, but it's a lot easier for me to think like this than versus, you know, use my fingers and make gestures. So putting a switch on that is really good idea. Personally, although I've worked on guitars that have had it and I've worked on guitars where people have modded that. I've. I've done both ways. People have modded guitars and the manufacturers done that way. I've never been a fan of. Doesn't do anything for me. I never heard anything that was like, wow, you know, wow. Nothing. Nothing about it wowed me. It's. To me, it's. You know, I'm okay with single coils. I don't really need necessarily a noiseless single coil. It's not something I'm really, you know, focused on. So give it a shot. You know, that's what I would recommend the. Especially if you have, you know, a way to put it in the guitar without making. I wouldn't want to route your body or do anything to. To. To modify your guitar permanently for it if you don't have to. But you can do that. It does work. That's the important part. That's what I can tell you. It does work. This one was from Pacifica. 529 says, by the way, does everyone understand. And we want to cover this again. Does everyone understand that in your YouTube account? In your. I'm going to go. Hold on, I need to find it. Nope. See, I'm already trying to make this harder than it needs to be. There we go. Okay. In your YouTube account, if you go to your YouTube account and you go to customization, right? Okay. It's a tab that says customization on it. When you click on that, it'll give you a banner image, a picture, and it will say the name, your name of your YouTube channel, and then it will say your handle. My handle is the real Philip McKnight. You can change your handle, you can type something in, and within minutes, that will be your handle. That's what will be displayed with when you're live. So again, you go to your YouTube studio. Okay. Do it on your computer, go to YouTube studio. Once you open it, it's going to say dashboard, content analytics, Community languages, content detection, Earn. If you're missing some of these tabs, it could happen because every YouTube channel is a little bit different. You just want customization. Go to it. It says name and then it says handle. You want to change your handle? Okay. And you can change it. So I'm not saying that you're specifically. You have a handle wrong, but I'm seeing a lot of, like, license plate names, and I'm wondering if people don't understand that that's what YouTube did. They made it to where you. They default. Give you a handle now, and you can go in and kind of finally change it if you want. I just want everybody to make sure. I'm going to keep saying that for the next couple weeks because I've seen a bunch of podcasts recently where I was watching people and no one seems to know this. And so I want to keep just getting it out there. Okay, that being said, this was from Pacifica529. It says, hey, since you owned a store and could buy gear at dealer prices, does it bother you to have to pay retail now? No, because I mostly paid retail. Then let me, let me tell you, there's a saying and it says. What's the saying? It's a joke. It's a joke saying. It's not a joke, but I'm going to use as a joke. Don't use your own stuff. Right? Don't, don't, don't write. Don't, you know, like drug dealers, right? Don't use your own stuff. When I opened the store, of course I did what anybody stores, everybody who has stores, do, do. I bought stuff that I liked and I put it in the store. And then soon you realize, like, that that's okay because that's. People come in, they learn you, they like you, and they get to know your personality, and then maybe they tend to try things because of your recommendations and they go, hey, I know Phil likes, you know, this product. And. But mostly people like to buy what they want. So most stores within a short period of time. Oh, yeah. Thank you. Don't get high on your own supply. Thank you all. So you could tell I just didn't do drugs. So, so, so anyways, yeah. Don't get high on your own supply. So as a dealer, I learned that real fast. What happened is, to me, I didn't learn it the cool way, which is I thought it and then I did it. I literally became victim of it. So here's what happened. So like I said, after a time of carrying my own stuff, realizing like, no, you need stuff that people like every time a rep would come in or our company would approach us and go, hey, you want to carry this? And I'm like, I love that stuff. And then I would buy 10, 20, 30, $50,000 of it as an initial order and then it would come in and it would just rot. And I would buy one and I get it at cost. And then we would end up dumping all the stuff that no one wanted to buy for less than cost. And at the end I could have just bought it for retail. So over a period of time, I would just buy stuff for retail. This is a thing that anyone can test me on. Anyone. Go out there and you'll find the answer. That's true. Anyone local to the Phoenix area will tell you that. I don't know why this was so probably problematic for all the other stores, but it was so. They all seemed now, now I'm just telling you this, you know, they all seem to act weird about this. So my store in the Phoenix area, Bizarre Guitar Milanos, I don't know, that's two Rainbow Guitars is another one. You know, guitar pickers, you name it. I've bought guitars, pedals, amps from all of them. The music store who's no longer there anymore, that was Jean Paul store. And every time I go there and buy something, they go, what are you doing here? Like, I was casing the joint. Like, ah, I'm a competition, what do you got? And I come in and go, yeah, I bought my mesa boogie mark 5:25 that I still have. I bought that at Jean Paul's store in Mesa, Arizona, that's closed. I bought my Gibson 339 from Bizarre Guitar from Bob Turner. I bought my, I bought my PA system that I currently own, or I don't have it anymore. But my big PA system I had forever. I bought that from Milano's again. After I had a store, I would just go to their stores because I was like, well, I'm not going to bring in pv, you know, PA systems. I'm not going to do it. So I just went to Milan's, bought a PA and I, I go, I'm not going to, I'm not going to bring in. I had Gibson and we're not going to bring Gibson back just to buy an Easter 39. I'm not pulling in Mesa Boogie just to buy one amp, right? Mesa Boogie was like, yeah, you had to buy 1500 dollars worth of tubes. Mesa Boogie tubes, plus all this buy in. And so I was like, nah, I'm not doing that. So the base place, I went to the base place and I would buy, you know, a base from them, like a Warwick or something, and they'd say the same thing, like, you know, oh, I even bought my Fender base. My. My jazz deluxe that I play this day. I bought that from the base place. And funny story about that was that bass was actually at the NAMM show. The bass place bought it, and then I went to the base place and I bought it from Dennis, who was the owner's daughter. She was working the store that day, and she even called Dennis, and Dennis said, like, why are you buying this from us? Just, you're a Fender dealer. Like, think of this. That wasn't even like, buy your own supply thing. I was a Fender dealer. And I go, no, I want that one. I want that one. I played it at the show and you have it. He's like, you can just order one for cost. I'm like. Because you could tell. He was like, you know, he wanted to give me a courtesy discount, but he doesn't want to, like, sell it to me for cost. And he knows I can give him costs. And I go, I'm not asking for costs, man. I just want it from you. So to answer your question, no. Does it bug me to pay retail now? No. But also, with all transparency, I would say I pay ultimately a lot less for things now than I ever did as a dealer. First of all, the Internet has brought deals to everyone. So there's just deals all the time. All the time. And so I would say, on average, I used to pay more as a. When I was a dealer, not when I was a dealer, prices. Like, I'm not saying when I order my inventory, but for me personally, my personal instruments, I probably paid more then than I do now, because just like everybody else, you know, there was only local stores or local places or a couple deals on, you know, on the Internet. But it's not like now, so. So, yeah, and I still do that. Like, I said, I just bought those cables last week. I. Perfect example. Here's a perfect example. I actually needed this. I told you guys that I needed the cables for a video that I wanted to make. I reached out to Sweetwater, I said, here's the video I want to make. And I said, here's what I want to do. And I said, I need some cables. And those particular cables I need for another project that is More of a personal like video that I think, you know. As you guys know, I'll do videos a lot because I want to do them and I think you guys will like them. So interesting. I got to tell you, this is kind of funny story. I bought those two Proko cables from Sweetwater, full price shipped to me and then I got Sweetwater to send me some other cables for this other video. So it's like I could have just asked them for all the cables and worked out some deal. But like I said, I'm trying to tell you is no. Sometimes I've learned just I don't need the headaches if it's for. If I have something legitimate I can work with Sweetwater on. I'll. I'll get them to help me and like give me a discount or send the product so I can do the video. And if it's not, I'm just not going to play the game. I'm just going to buy it. So. Gary says, how often can you change your Google Studio handle? I don't know that answer for sure. What I can tell you is, my guess is, is it says, it says you can change your handle back within 14 days. Handles can be changed twice every 14 days. Okay, there you. So you can change it. That doesn't make sense. You can change your handle back within 14 days. Handles can be changed twice every 14 days. That's what it says. So I don't know what that even means, but that's what it says. This came from Cigar. Dad says, is there a preference? Is there a preference or do I have a preference? This is. Is there a preference for Kiesel headless versus Strandberg? Let's start with this. Do I have a preference? I prefer keys. I like Strandbergs a lot. I like oldest Strandberg a lot. I like him. I just like him as a dude. I like the guitar Strandberg. I've been watching a lot of criticism lately of Strandberg guitars and how basically they're getting really expensive for what they are. And I understand that, you know, people are just not used to seeing an Indonesian made instrument for three, $4,000, you know, $2,000. It's just, it's getting really crazy. I understand that. I like Strandberg's. The quality is very good. For the most part. I like them. I hear things that some people get some dodgy quality. I have not had that problem over the years for the most part. But, but I just preferred my keys because of the necks. I like the more traditional necks. I had no problem with the indoor neck. I like that indoor neck. I just didn't love that indoor neck. So again, if, if, if I didn't have the option to get something like the Giesel, I would still be playing a Strandberg. But, you know, my only complaint about the Strandberg was that really nicer to have a more traditional neck. And then once I got it, my hands on a. On a Keisel, I was like, okay. Plus, at the. If, you know, there's a great video that's on my channel to this day, I did with my guitar teacher who. Where he. He plays his Strandberg and I play the Vader I bought used. Remember I bought a Vader. And I will tell you this. The Vader, which is a great guitar, it's just a little too small for me and I. And in that video, we talk about how the Strandbergs, even though they're small, the way they situate, they sit you up, situate higher up. So my arms here and I'm. I'm not so closed in. That's what I didn't like about the Vader. The fix for that was I got a Delos and a Tim Miller and some of the hall. Some of this headless guitars that are not smaller like the Vader. So. So. But I mean, nothing beats the fact, like I said, this is essentially just like my Delos, just smaller. So. So that makes my life pretty easy because it's. I don't have to change a whole lot about myself. Okay. Sean says, hey, when most people say bedroom amp, how loud do you think the average person means? My bedroom level is a deluxe reverb on 4. I'm sure it means different things to different people. What it means to me is my family would disagree with this. They'll tell you that I probably play loud. I. I play. I don't know anyone who plays as quiet as me in my personal. My friends, all my friends, all of them. When I. When I play, when I go over a friend's house or they come over here, my amp settings are always way, way quieter than anyone else. I prefer it to be basically quiet. However, that is just as I get older, I just like it quieter. It's no particular reason. They say it's, if it's too loud, you're too old. It's just that's what's happened to me. It's. It's getting too loud. Why? I don't know. It's not that it. It necessarily bothers me being loud. I just don't need it to be Loud. I think it's also because a lot of times when I'm playing, I'm playing to backing tracks, a drum, bass, other things. And after a while it just becomes like you're just blaring the stereo full of music and. And I, I want to actually hear what's going on so I can work on ST. By grace. I'm saved. Says, hey, Phil, do you have any videos about choosing the right guitar for you? I do. I have a video that's literally. I think that's what it's called, but it probably needs an update. So that might be a good video to update and do. So that would be good. So. And oh, for the record, because that doesn't really tell you guys anything. When I say I play it quiet. I have a decibel meter. I have decimal meters in every room that I'm in. So in every room I'm in, whether it's my office or my studio or anywhere else, I have these clocks. People come over my house, they always say, zimmy, why are these clocks in every room? It's just, just how I keep my. Manage my time. So I have these digital clocks in every room. It's the same clock in every room. And I also have a decimal meter in every room. I just. How I have the lighting set up just keeps life easy. I play quieter than I talk because when I'm talking right now, I'm talking louder than I play. So that gives you an idea. Let's go next. You know what we need to do is Amanda's sending probably way more questions. Mort. 2700 says, hey, Phil, trying to restore some guitars. Know where I can get gold hardware replayed it? I have no idea if anyone knows where to get a hardware replayed. That'd be great to know. I have no idea. Never done it. Never had anybody do it. So, you know, so I don't have a source for it, but I would like to know. You're curious. Myself. Guitar center has a Fender acoustic sub. 250 bucks. Would it be worth a try or pass? Go Yamaha or Ibanez at the same price? Well, the Fender CD 60s are one of my favorite acoustics, but I think Yamaha makes a. A better acoustic for the price. I think acoustics I currently like. I still like Orange Wood a lot. Okay. You know, I, I, it's. And this is like, this is everything I always tell you about the bias of things. You know, knowing the bias. I like the people. Orange Wood people. Orange Wood are. I consider them friends at this point. And they're obviously relatively connected to Sterling and to Cortech and they're all kind of the same groups. That's why I like them and I love the idea of their, their business strategy of like just importing guitars that the same way everybody else is. But they do full setups on them and stuff. So I like them. But I also like Yamaha guitars just as much without any, any questions right there. And Ibanez acoustics. I've had hit or miss. When I was an Ibanez dealer we would have really good acoustics come through Ibanez and really duds. And when I say duds I don't mean quality like bad playing or fret outs or anything, just sound wise. Yamaha or Ibanez was the most notorious for having these beautiful acoustics. They looked amazing, but they just sounded dead. And just because there's just so much glue and laminate going on. So that's something to think about. They kind of inspire you visually but then don't inspire you, you know, acoustically. So something to think about that. But offender acoustic is good. All of those are really good. Especially you know, I think 200, 250, you're going to get into the decent quality acoustics now. Again, these are still not these, you know, 100 solid Taylor Martins, you know, Gibsons. But they're, they're good. John Carley wants to know if I saw that the new do you do it yourself Amp kit from stumac, the valve factory 18 for $1600. Wonder if you would build one for a video. I won't. I did a amp build. I've done two. They were both 5v3s. It was a very cool experience. I highly recommend everybody to do it. Take, you know, be safe doing it was how I'm sure a lot of people I see comments. You know when you have hundreds of millions of these views on these like how to videos that I've gotten over the years and you see people going yeah, I tried it. Not for me. I would say building amps. Tried it. Not for me. As someone who I like working on guitars. It's very peaceful and calming for me. Building an amp was not peaceful and calming for me. So you understand fixing or repairing a guitar. Like you know, yesterday Thanksgiving I spent most of the day. I have a room in the house. It's essentially my wife's art room. It's like the main room. You go into the house, there's a big table there. She was painting and doing watercolors and I was restringing guitars and Working on guitars, my personal ones, just for me, like, that was my joy. That's what I did. Thanksgiving, we went to. Just. We went to the movies with the kids, Saw them, saw a movie. And then after the movie, we went home, we worked. I worked on guitars, and Shauna did watercolors for a while until night time. And then the kids came over for dinner, and we had dinner. And so that was our Thanksgiving. So I love that. So, and. And loving it's one thing. And then I can teach it. Like, I can teach guitar repair. So I teach guitar repair because I can teach it. I can't teach amp repair because I'm not good at it and I don't know anything about it, and I don't enjoy doing it for my personal self. So that's why I don't do a whole lot of that stuff. But I did want to do it because. And I did. I suggest you do it. Give it a try. Brad Guitar Miller. Brad Guitar Miller says, hey, can you ask Phil? I can. I can totally ask Bill. I think he means this to Amanda. But Brad just, you know, I can ask Phil too, if he was going to try and get Stumac to do a Stumax deal for his viewers. Yeah, we talked about this last week. I did not reach out to them. It's because one, they're doing blowout sales, so there's not gonna be a whole lot of deal. And two, last time we did the Stumax deal, like, said they put out a better deal after we did that. We did it twice. The first time was great. Second time, like I said, I love Stumac, their tools, you know, and the fact they're on sale right now is great. I use them, so, I mean, I recommend them because I use them. But, you know, if I, I, if. If Shauna can get a hold of them and maybe work out some kind of deal for you guys, it's just got to be a really good deal for you guys. Does it make sense? Like, I just don't want to get. You know, I think my attitude is real simple. I think if. If you want to know what to use the Stumac and if you want to buy that, I understand that because it's nice to know that it's. Whoa. All right, hold on. Let me raise that back up. Look at that. Okay. Wasn't ready for that. There you go. So mechanical stuff was raising and lowering. It kind of caught me off guard. So anyways, what was I saying? Back to what I was saying on the, on the CMAX stuff. But if they're going to give a deal. It needs to be a real deal for you guys. Okay, so let's see. Any recommendations for a pencil, condenser mics that work well with acoustic and electric guitars? No, you know, I bought. What is it? I bought one. Let me pull it up. I don't like it. You can buy it off me. I'll give you a smoking deal on it. Here's the one I bought. Let's pull it up. Let me go to my purchases. I didn't like it. I tried a couple other. It's just. I don't know what it is. You know, it was the one. Everybody's like, that's the one to get. Then I just did not love it. Hold on, let me scroll. Keep scrolling. Man, I buy a lot of crap. And for the record, before you guys any judge me, this is. This was for the channel. So when you buy for the channel, it's crazy because there's a lot of stuff. Oh, my goodness. There's cameras. There's all kinds of stuff, but scrolling, scrolling, scrolling, scrolling. Okay, we're on page seven. I don't know if I'm gonna even find it in real time. The show might be over by the time I figure out what microphone this is. I think we're gonna call it. I don't think I can get to it. Oh, here it is. Okay. It's this microphone right now. This one. Okay, Web, So this is the microphone. You know what? Let me. Move me. Look at me down here. So $650 what I paid for it. This. It was. Okay, so anyone wants it, they can have it. I don't have. I don't believe I have the little pouch. I don't know if I didn't get the pouch or. Yeah, it came in a box and not a pouch. I don't have the box. I don't have the box for it. So I don't know. Somebody messaged me if they want it for like 300 bucks. I. I liked it. Didn't love it. So I don't. I don't know. I'm still looking myself. So that's my long way to say I'm still looking myself. I'm gonna have to ask you guys. I don't have to go on some of the YouTube recording channels and be like, what mic do you guys like? So, but. But yeah, 650 bucks. Didn't love it. So I'll be trying something else eventually. I. I actually have something I like, but it's. It's in it's in our main rig. It's not necessarily, you know, it's not necessarily a microphone more than a system. Okay. Okay, we're doing. We're almost done. Hi, Phil. I see Sweetwater has the boss. Oh, he did this one. Okay. I have no idea. This is a new one on me. They want to know, Phil, what do I know about the reformed Bad Cat company and the new amps they're making? I don't know. Unless you mean reform like recently or you mean reformed out for the last few years. John Thompson, as far as I know, still owns Bad Cat and has owned it now for a decade, basically, or a while. So that's what I know about it. I reviewed a bunch of the Bad Cat amps so you can watch all the videos. I think I reviewed almost the. Not every amp they put out, but most amps they ever put out. So I don't know much other than that. But if they've reformed again, I don't know. I wish John happy Thanksgiving the other day and he didn't say anything to me, so I assume everything's still the same. Okay, Phil, what would your ideal solution for playing recording a guitar in an apartment under. On a 4 to 500 budget? If you have a laptop, man, put it all on your laptop. Just get an interface. A nice. A nice interface for your laptop or your computer. Get some software if you want to do it that way. I mean, that's. I mean, you're not going to be, you know, for recording in an apartment. A nice set of headphones. Get yourself a decent set of headphones, a nice interface and some good. An amp software and just do it all in. In recording. Just be done with it because you're going to be recording anyways. So spend all the money in the recording and not pedals and not all the other stuff. Just keep it internal or even upgrade your laptop. Okay. And get out of that screen and. Okay, hold on a second. I know I'm quiet, huh? Because I'm reading. Hold on a second. Okay, I think. Let me go back to you guys, see what you guys are doing. There we go. Why. Why is there so many screens up? It's like I have every screen now. My computer is up. Music mix. Musical Mix Studio says, hey, Phil. Is the only way to lower the action on an acoustic guitar done by fo. Rallying down the bridge for the most part. So essentially you need to make sure the neck is straight or as straight as it can be with as little to relief as it can have so that's important, especially if you're looking at the action between, let's say the first fret and let's call it up to the seventh fret after that. Yeah, most likely it's going to be lowering the saddle on the bridge. That is the. The best way to do that. Measuring is absolutely important because you're going to be guessing. And so because you're guessing, you want to just do measuring. Me, I like to always get a second saddle. I think it's a very inexpensive way to build yourself, to give yourself a backup plan. In most cases, no matter what your acoustic is, your saddle is not going to be super expensive. You know, if it's bone, if it's. It's tusk with a cue, any of those plastic materials, you get yourself, go measure it, get. Go online, get yourself one, maybe two backup sa. And then what you do is you make your measurements and corrections. And then what I do is I don't use the original saddle. I use the extra one I have. And that way if you make a mistake, you have another one to do. And of course, you have the original to go back to. If you ever want to do put it back to original for any reason. There's a couple reasons I do that. First of all, looking at from a point of view of a customer brings me a guitar. One of the things can happen when you lower the action is, yes, it gets play it more playable, but you also lose a little bit, right? So in other words, you lose a little bit of the sound. Obviously, the higher action on acoustic, you're going to get more kind of thumpy, bigger sound. And so a lot of times you lower the action, people get really paranoid, like, because they don't remember exactly what the guitar sounded like before. So I learned that over the years, people go, oh, yeah, I like the action, but now it doesn't sound right. Oh, no, it's ruined. And I'm like, well, we can just put the original saddle back on, you know, and all you do is capo. Capo the neck around the ninth fret, you know, release all the tension of the strings, capo the neck around the. The ninth fret, and then pull the pins, pull the strings out, pull the bridge saddle out, put the new saddle in, put the strings back in, push all the pegs back in, and tune the guitar up, you know, and you can choose to tune it up generally with the capo on. As long as it's like a kaiser or something, it's not clamped down like a shove like crazy. And then or otherwise release the tension a little bit. Pull the capo off to finish tuning up, Give the guitar. Play the guitar again. It's really nice to have reference back and forth. Acoustics are so much different than electrics. You can pretty much make an electric slammed and it's still going to sound generally the same. Sure. Will it lose a little of its fullness? It gets a little, you know, as the string sizzle on the frets. But acoustics, man, they almost sound like different instruments. And it really messes with you because you, you, you make an adjustment for the guitar to play and then it plays better. But you hate the way it sounds and that it's the equivalent of almost like imagine if you lowered your guitar, your electric guitar action, but you also replace the pickups at the same time. And now you're like, now it sounds thin. I don't even love the way it sounds anymore. And now look at all you have to do. So on acoustic, like I said, I'd say buy a couple extra saddles. That's mostly where you're going to do the majority of your the work lowering and raising the action. But like I said, you definitely want to make sure that your neck isn't got a crap ton of relief in it. So. And then we're gonna do one last one. One last subject. Okay. I don't know. I don't know what I got. Okay. This one was phil. I saved $150 on the throwback brat. Throwback, Throwbacks, Black Friday. Say that twice as fast. Throwbacks, Black Friday sale on a T59 MXV pickup set. Man. You spent some money for my custom shop teller telly. If you guys know, John is the owner of Throwback. He's been on the podcast. And you guys know Throwback. They make amazing pickups, obviously, because they are very expensive pickups. I was talking to Throwback guys this week. I awesome to always get to talk to them on the phone. It was a real enjoyable discussion we had about a couple subjects. And they asked me some questions. I got to ask them some questions because I had some. I have some stuff coming up in January that's going to be different. It's a little different. Something that's a big deal to me. It's really. I. I'm not trying to play it down or play it up, but it's a big deal to me. So anyways, back to this. So if you guys don't know Throwback pickup saw, I'll put a link right now. They make pickups that are Very expensive. A set of pickups can go as much as 8, 900. And then everywhere, not everywhere in between, they're going to mostly be in the most expensive range. However, they make these pickups on the original machines that these pickups were made with the exacting detail and the most, the most premium parts. Now, just so you know how premium this is, what's funny about this. And I've talked about throwback, and I made a comment once somebody asked me what I thought of throwback pickups. Kind of in that they, you know, been on the podcast and also they gave me a set of pickups which is in my Les Paul classic that I absolutely love, especially with their pickups. What do I think? And I said I didn't feel like I could give a wholehearted, honest answer because I never bought their pickups. I was given some and I don't know, you know, obviously because they're so expensive, I don't know if I'd ever pay that kind of money for pickups. Well, since then, I bought a set of their pickups. So I, I basically, I can't tell you how or when or why because it's for a video, but let's just say I, I, I pulled the trigger like you Yardbird. And I, I bought a set of their pickups as well. And so, yes, I know the, the pain of that price point, but also those pickups were amazing. And also, so, you know, I know that their pickups are very legit because in this special project that I'm doing, I was really curious about a component they use in their pickups or components, but mostly component. And I can tell you that theirs are expensive. I don't mean the price of pickups. Their parts, their parts are expensive even to take a small piece of what they're doing, which is what I was trying to think of doing and like, and kind of add it to another thing. It was just astronomical. Doubles the, literally doubles the price in seconds, if not more so. Very cool. And I'm glad they're running sale, by the way. They only run sale. And I just happen to know this because I know these guys. So again, just to be aware, again, I don't want to, to give you guys some, you know, fake fomo, you know, fear of missing out stuff. But I want to let you know, they do not do sales ever. It's just only on Black Friday. So if you're ever thinking about doing throwbacks, this is the time to do it because they only do the sale on Black Fridays ever. That's their, their big thing. They don't do discounts so because they're made to order product. So understand when I all that talk I did today about whole, you know, everybody trying to right size their inventory. These guys basically you, you buy it, they build it. So they build it within a week or two and so they don't, they don't have as much stress about inventory sitting around as others do. And yeah, Edward says all US made parts. I do believe they are us made parts. So you know that's basically I'm trying to be cryptic because I don't want anybody to know what I'm up to. But let's just say yes, they throwback uses all US made parts in there or as as much USA parts as they can in a pickup. I know that sounds misleading when everybody says that, but just to give you an idea for a fact, one of the parts that I was trying to source is, is I want to say 10 times. It's not true. It's like 12, 14. 12 to 14 times more expensive for this one part. In fact the one part costs as much as what the pickup was going to cost to make. So yeah, their, their parts are expensive. So that's why I'm saying so yeah. Okay. So anyways that's, I think we did it. You guys now have to go play guitar. Enjoy your time with your friends and family if you have some so and I'm gonna try and do the same. Those of you who are on the patron side, you uh, you may know this. The ten dollar pat the clinic. There's a clinic on Sunday. I believe it's like 11am on or 1 1pm 1pm Pacific Standard Time. And there's a coffee fulfill for the, the premium tier on Sunday. And then we'll have a bonus podcast next week for the rest of the tiers. I put a code down below. I specifically did I specifically like the ocean. I specifically didn't mention it because I didn't want to mention to the end of the show. Somebody asked about doing a Black Friday special on merch. I, I didn't do it. I'm just being honest. It wasn't, you know, 10,000 things going on. I didn't think to do it and it's not something I can actually click a button and just do for you guys. Somebody, we have to request it and stuff. So I, I didn't do it. But what we did do is if you want to be a five dollar patron member there is a code down in the description and that code if you sign up. Well, if you buy one year, which is like 60 bucks, I take it it's 40% off. So 40% off for the year. It's only for new Patron members. It's only for this weekend. Do it if you want. Don't do it if you want. I just. I just felt guilty when somebody asked about the Merchant. I didn't do any discounts, so I added that at the last minute. That's what I could do in the 10 minutes before the show started. All right, I appreciate that. I'm gonna go back to my other stuff to do. As always, guys, I want to thank you so much for your time to the next time, know your gear.
