Welcome to Abby's Snoozy News, a minisode full of chatter about the show, like news from the characters behind the scenes facts and answers to your questions. Like how many socks does Snaffles wear on each foot? The answer's four. He loves having cosy toes. In tonight's newsy News, then we're talking about Back to school. That's right. I can't believe it either. But the time has rolled around again to say goodbye to the summer holidays and hello to our new routines. Now, when I was little, I used to feel dead excited about going back to school. I loved school. I loved everything about it. I loved the organisation of it. The timetable, all the books, all the stationery. Just seeing my friends, the teachers, all the sport. The only thing that I didn't love that much was having to leave my lovely dog behind. Or my cat. I found that quite tough every single day. But I love school. I love school. How do you feel about it? Let us know in the comments, would you? Or in a review. Even better. Now a lot of our favourite characters spend a lot of time at school because they're young and you know, that's what you got to do when you're little. And they've shown us time and time again just how wonderful school can be and what magic can happen when we face new things with a big Confident smile. So we're rewinding some of our top school themed story picks. This month we'll be starting by joining Prickles the Hedgehog on the school trip of a lifetime. He's had the opportunity to go on a school residential to New Zealand, far away from home now. At first, Prickles isn't sure if he wants to take this trip. It's so far away from home and so new. The thought of being in a new place, doing new things with new people makes him want to climb back into bed with his Teddy George and never leave the house. But you know what? He puts on his most positive attitude and takes life by the horns. He realises that being brave doesn't mean not being scared. It means acknowledging your fear and trying something new anyway. Because if we never tried and never did things we were scared of, we'd never learn anything new at all. Prickles learns that the world is even more beautiful and exciting than he ever imagined. And that school is just one big adventure waiting to happen. So whether you're off on a school trip or just nervous about learning fractions, channel your inner Prickles the Hedgehog and remember, every opportunity that comes your way could be a path to something amazing. And on that note, I'll just let you into a secret. The first time I knew that I loved reading aloud was in my English class. When it finally got to my turn and I had three sentences to read aloud, I loved it and I wanted to keep going but had to stop. So you never know. You just never know what you're going to discover at school. Okay, next. Do you remember Isla? The first time we met Isla, she was meeting a new teacher, Ms. Fudge. We're going to listen to that story again this month. Isla and the best teacher ever. It's called. Mrs. Fudge is so welcoming and kind to Isla. It reminds me how magical school can be not just as a place of learning, but as a space where we can have fun, building confidence, discovering new passions and making lasting friendships. Ms. Fudge, with her warm heart and gentle encouragement, represents everything good about teachers. When I was six years old, I had to leave my school and start another one. And the person I knew I'd miss the most was Mrs. Miller. She had grey hair and she wore a brown checked skirt. And she was probably the most friendly, most patient, kind and funny person. Before I left, I asked my mum if I could buy her a gift. And we bought her a little picture frame of a vase of daffodils on a table. And it was tiny, but I loved it. And she seemed to love it, too. So that was nice. You know, sometimes we do forget that our teachers are real people, just like us. And they have their own stories, their own passions, and their feelings. So when you meet yours in September, be nice to them. And when they do something cool or make you laugh, tell them so. Finally, watch out for our last back to school rewind. Jupiter Twins the Mischievous Mouse Plants in this story, the Magical Wizarding Twins are studying plant magic and looking after mouse plants. Jake does great, but Lily plant magic's totally not her thing. So when her mouse plant runs away, Lily has no choice but to ask for help. What I like about this story is that it shows how everyone's brain is a little different. And that's a good, good thing. Some people might learn to read super quickly, while others are amazing at building things, drawing, or solving puzzles. Just like how Lily finds plant magic tricky even though she's great at other things. Learning something new can be like trying to ride a bike for the first time. Wobbly and frustrating at first, it doesn't mean you're not smart or that you'll never be good at it. It just means your brain is still figuring out how to do it. And just like with riding a bike, with practice, patience, and maybe a little help from someone kind, like a teacher or a friend, it does get easier.
