His face is skinnier. He looks like, I think he's going to play. I, I, I think there are people who think he's the odd man out. Ryan. I don't think that's going to be the case.

No. I think he has proved the point. It's gonna be hard to take him off the court. He's earned the right to get those minutes and playing so well. It's really the whole interview we had with Pope that's the most excited I think Pope got when he was talking about Trent Noah.

That's right. All right, so a couple things. 859-280-2287 I'm gonna go the phone. Let's a couple updates. Tyron Stokes. There's some rumors he'll decide this weekend. He hasn't said anything. A couple people online have suggested they think it'll come tomorrow or Sunday. I have no idea. I kind of wonder if this will be one of these that just sort of drag along. But I'm going to take the view of. I'm going to be watching for the news this weekend and if I don't get it this weekend, then you just call me Shannon whenever he decides. I'm not going to.

Like you're not worked up over it?

No, no. I want. This is a big deal.

I mean, I was sitting there thinking, how many times in the history of UK basketball has UK gotten the number one player in the country? Like in the. Now, granted, they didn't really rank people until the mid-80s, so like, it's hard to know in the 60s and 70s, I'm not sure. So let's just say since the mid-80s, how many times has it happened? What's happened? Less than you think.

[Matt Jones]

Yeah.

[Ryan Lemond]

John Wall. But even John Wall was not the consensus number one. There were some people that had Avery Bradley that year number one, but John Wall was mostly number one. Anthony Davis was consensus number one by the end. Carl Towns was number one in most, although some people had the Mecca or Jalil Okafor as number one. And then scowl, scowl. Those are. Those are the four.

Are there any others even?

[Ryan Lemond]

I think that's it. Sam Buoy was ranked high, but I don't think he was number one. I think he was like two or three. Yeah, cuz Sam, Jamal Mashburn was like number three or something like that. So it's four times and this would be the fifth. And let me just say three of those four ended up really, really good. Are you. What do you think?

I'm excited about it. There's a long, long time. I didn't think Kentucky really was. Had a good chance to get this kid. He's from Louisville, grew up in Louisville. His parents apparently are Louisville fans. And now he's eliminated Louisville from his final list.

Most people think it's gonna be Kentucky or Oregon. So it's basically history versus probably a lot of money. We, I mean, I'd say we're probably offering him a lot of money too, but. But for the most part, history or a lot. So what do you think?

[Shannon Dawson]

Mark Bop has checked a lot of boxes in his one year here, but the question has been can he get a top recruit? And I think this will be it. Yeah, this will be it right here.

This will be it. So watch for that this weekend. There's not a set announcement, but some people believe it could come this weekend. If it doesn't though, I'm. I'm kind of out on the pick and what weekend? I'll just wait till he actually does it.

Yeah, I was surprised that it came up so quick that he was about, about even to make a decision. I thought he was still a ways away, but that's a big get. If Pope's able to pull that one.

In, I'm give you two debates. I always like my, my jury panel here. So let's, let's start with this one. This is happening in Powell County, Kentucky.

I know this story.

All right. In Powell County, Kentucky, Halloween decorations. Man in Powell county puts up every year five skeletons up as his Halloween decorations. And apparently as with the skeletons, he puts five famous people that he doesn't like. So I don't know who he's had over the years, but usually they're, they're, they're famous people that he doesn't like. But this year he decided to make it people in Powell County. Right. So politicians in Powell County. So rather than just saying like, I don't like, you know, George Clooney, he's saying, I don't like Bob the Sheriff. Right. The city said, no, that's threatening. You cannot, you cannot. You're threatening your fellow citizen. Now they didn't say anything the first few years when he had like famous people. But now that he said local people, they're saying they're threatening. He has filed suit saying, it is my first amendment right to put up. You're let. As long as you let people put Halloween stuff up, you let other people put skeletons up. Why when I put somebody's name on there, how are you not making my violating my first amendment rights? So here's my question for you. Two different rights here. First Amendment versus we don't want people to threaten public officials. Do you consider it threatening or not? What do you make of it? Which way you gonna go? You're the court. You're having to decide does he get to put local politicians names on his skeletons for Halloween?

[Shannon Dawson]

From what I read, from what I understand, it was like mayor on one of them. Then he had like zoning manager. He was mad at the zone, like the zoning because apparently he had a zoning violation.

So as long as he doesn't have the actual person's name on the body.

But I mean, clearly he's talking about the local mayor.

Wait, this is mayor? It could be any mayor.

Nah, he means he specifically said, I'm mad at our mayor and our zoning. May said that in the interview?

[Shannon Dawson]

Yeah, yeah, I, I think I lean in the favor of the guy who is the homeowner who puts to put it up. It's all in good fun. I don't think there's anything.

What if he put Donald Trump?

[Shannon Dawson]

Yeah. Now you're talking specific names. So I think that's.

What if he just put President.

[Shannon Dawson]

Yeah, Let it go.

I mean, see, I don't understand the difference between title and name. Like, you know who he's talking about. So what difference does it make whether.

You could be President Zelensky? I don't know. It could be. It could be anybody.

But what if he does an interview that says, I am talk about Mayor Jenkins?

[Shannon Dawson]

Well, that would be stupid if he did that interview.

Well, he did. He's already done it.

So I think I'm fine with the guy doing the decorations.

Halloween's supposed to be fun, man. Decorations. You know, you put out your witch and your skeleton and your ghost. I think it's almost crossing the line to make it a personal attack, like he's taking the Halloween tradition of.

[Ryan Lemond]

What if he put Taylor Swift?

[Matt Jones]

Yeah, I don't like it at all.

[Shannon Dawson]

What if I had.

[Ryan Lemond]

I didn't ask if he liked it. The question is, should he be allowed to do it? It's not about whether or not Ryan likes it. It's whether or not it should be legal.

[Matt Jones]

Because you're right, it is his private property. That's his private residence as he owns that law.

[Ryan Lemond]

It is his private property. But he couldn't write, I'm going to shoot the mayor. He can't write that. We know that. That's settled law. And he can. He could put a parody of the mayor. So he could put the mayor as a clown. Right. So he could put the. He could create the mayor's face and put a clown face on it. The question is, is it using a skeleton? Does that switch it from legal parody to a threat? Threats are illegal. Parodies are. Okay, which one is this?

[Shannon Dawson]

I will say it's not a threat. Now, we use this as an example. Do you know the band Guar? Do you know who they are? I do every show they do. They bring up somebody who looks like the president, whoever that happens to be, and they essentially act out like they're killing the president on stage.

[Ryan Lemond]

I don't know if you do that, so.

[Shannon Dawson]

Well, they do it. So my point is, if they can get away with doing that, then why should this guy be prosecuted when they do it? They've been doing it for years.

[Ryan Lemond]

Just in your mind, is that more of a threat or is that more of a parody?

[Shannon Dawson]

It's a parody. It's a parody for me, Ryan.

[Matt Jones]

I think I'm going to lean parody also.

[Shannon Dawson]

I thought you Were just saying a minute ago the opposite.

I said I don't like it. But I mean if you're trying to. We're going to make a legal decision. Yeah, I think it's more.

I generally would say you allow it. Unless he's insinuating he's going to do something to one up. If he's insinuating he's going to do something to one of them, then that's. You can't do that.

[Shannon Dawson]

Yep.

[Ryan Lemond]

So. But you know are like skeletons are part of Halloween. Right. So it's not now if you made it like a body and then that's a whole nother thing.

[Shannon Dawson]

Right.

[Ryan Lemond]

Like so for me I would lean towards saying he does have a first amendment. But it's going to court. Kentucky Supreme Court's gonna hear.

[Shannon Dawson]

I saw he had a five thousand dollar bond. I feel like that's a little.

[Ryan Lemond]

See, you definitely shouldn't arrest him. I mean that like, like there I, I do not think he should get criminal charges. That, that, that to me, whatever happened.

[Matt Jones]

That dude that had like those tombstones and your name was on one of the tombstones.

[Shannon Dawson]

Well, that was a cartoon I think. Right.

[Ryan Lemond]

Well, but, but that's a great point. If you have to me, tombstones with people's names on it is even more of a threat than skeletons in some ways. Cuz like a skeleton can be funny. A tombstone is. You are dead. Right. And that was a politician that did that to me. That was like a guy running for governor, I think, wasn't it?

[Matt Jones]

I think it was, yeah.

[Ryan Lemond]

Yeah. So. All right, second question. There's somebody that probably very few people here know, but his name is Hasan Piker. All right? He's this liberal guy. He gets on twitch and he just talks about politics, but he's kind of like handsome dude. He's very popular with young, with younger people. He's on his little stream yesterday. All of a sudden he's got a, he's got a dog. All right. He's got a collar on his dog. People think he hits a button and has like a shock collar on his dog. So there's this big debate, does he have a shot collar? Does he not? He says it was not an electric shock collar, it was something else. Is there another kind of collar where you do something to people?

[Matt Jones]

Well, they're barking, they may bark, you can hit it. They try to keep people from barking.

[Ryan Lemond]

But what, what does it do?

[Matt Jones]

It sends them a little electrical shock.

[Ryan Lemond]

Okay, so that's my question. Yeah, people are roasting this guy because they Said you have a shot collar, you're supposed to care about animals, and you have a shot caller. Here's my question for you, because I honestly don't know the answer, and I'm not an animal person. Is having, like, a little collar on dogs, is that inhumane? Because I. I didn't even know that that was a debate. But online yesterday, if you got online and people had strong positions on whether or not you should have a shot collar or not, you're. You're not your dog guy. Do you think that's okay?

[Matt Jones]

Yeah. And we got, you know, in trouble for our dogs barking all the time, so we got these little shock collars, and.

[Ryan Lemond]

Oh, so you're gonna cancel.

[Matt Jones]

You.

Like we do.

But after a couple weeks, maybe even a month, I'm like, this is ridiculous. So we.

Why was it ridiculous?

Because I actually. I grabbed a hold of it and did the shock myself. Like, whoa.

Oh, you shocked yourself?

[Shannon Dawson]

Yeah. I think that makes a big difference if you feel the shock, you know, the intensity.

Oh, yeah.

I think it depend.

So once you felt it, you were like, I don't want to do this to my dog.

So if we. If we put that collar around you and hit it, you wouldn't go outside the. The gates.

So. So do you think those things. Do you think putting a shot collar on a dog is inhumane? Because, honestly, I don't have an opinion, because, I don't know.

I don't think so. I don't think it's inhumane.

But you decided not to do it.

Because, you know, like, they got the. The electrical fences in your yards and.

Yeah, we do that with, like, cows and horses and stuff.

But to purposely push the button just because he was barking. That's what I think. I don't like.

So I. I feel like it's a little inhumane. I've never used one before. I've had dogs before.

How many dog owners are. Are here? Okay, if you're a dog owner, how many of you think it's inhumane? How many of you think it's five? All right, it's about 50. 50. It's about 50. 50. And if you were on the Internet Yesterday, it was 50. 50. Was it, like, people were going at each other. He was, like, trying to defend himself. He's like, it's not a shot collar. It's a. And he called it something else. I don't even know what he meant, but it Was clearly something that gave some kind of thing. But I didn't even know that was a debate. First of all, I don't even know if I realized that people still had those.

Yeah.

But secondly, I didn't know that it was a debate. So you've had one and then gotten rid of.

I've had the electric fence in my yard and I've had the shot collar. Both trying to. The ones in the yard, I guess I'm okay with. Kind of teaches them, you know, they.

Can'T run away because you're not controlling it. Right.

Did you feel guilty when you hit that?

Yes. Yeah.

So you, you. But okay, so that's a good question. Did you stop doing it because it was inhumane or did you stop doing it because you felt guilty?

That was a great baseball game. Like, that's one of the few non Reds games I watched like six or seven innings of. And I just hate that it ended like that.

Yeah, these are two of the best teams, I think in baseball. And that's a routine play that dude is made since his little league game. You know, a little ground ball back to the pitcher. Pick it up, scoop it up, throw it to first base. And I know it. He won't. He's having a hard time getting over that. I guarantee it's gonna make it.

I mean, I know they, there's worries about people having out. They don't want people camping out. I mean, I get all that, but can you imagine what the environment would be like on campus if everybody was waiting until midnight? Yeah, you don't have to camp out. But I think a lot of it is parents now who had Build a Bears when they were a kid. Now they're. They have their own kids, and now they're taking them to build a bear.

Trying to figure out, though, is why it's so popular. Because now on the Internet, conceivably you could get whatever you want.
