Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage. Now here's Matt Jones.
Ryan Lemond
Welcome back. It is our number two Kentucky Sports Radio, 859-280-2287. Here at Wild Eggs. We gave a bunch of gifts away gift cards during the break and we are still here another hour. Text machine is 772-77-45254. People are suggesting I did say I was stronger than Trent Noah. I'll say I was stronger than him last year but he's stronger than me now this year. Yeah, no, he really is. Like, he looks good. He, he's like lean. You know, he had like a little, kind of like a little baby fat last year. Now he's like lean. You can see it in his face too. His face is skinnier. He looks like, I think he's going to play. I, I, I think there are people who think he's the odd man out. Ryan. I don't think that's going to be the case.
Matt Jones
No. I think he has proved the point. It's gonna be hard to take him off the court. He's earned the right to get those minutes and playing so well. It's really the whole interview we had with Pope that's the most excited I think Pope got when he was talking about Trent Noah.
Ryan Lemond
That's right. All right, so a couple things. 859-280-2287 I'm gonna go the phone. Let's a couple updates. Tyron Stokes. There's some rumors he'll decide this weekend. He hasn't said anything. A couple people online have suggested they think it'll come tomorrow or Sunday. I have no idea. I kind of wonder if this will be one of these that just sort of drag along. But I'm going to take the view of. I'm going to be watching for the news this weekend and if I don't get it this weekend, then you just call me Shannon whenever he decides. I'm not going to.
Shannon Dawson
Like you're not worked up over it?
Ryan Lemond
No, no. I want. This is a big deal.
Shannon Dawson
Yeah.
Ryan Lemond
I mean, I was sitting there thinking, how many times in the history of UK basketball has UK gotten the number one player in the country? Like in the. Now, granted, they didn't really rank people until the mid-80s, so like, it's hard to know in the 60s and 70s, I'm not sure. So let's just say since the mid-80s, how many times has it happened? What's happened? Less than you think.
Matt Jones
Yeah.
Ryan Lemond
John Wall. But even John Wall was not the consensus number one. There were some people that had Avery Bradley that year number one, but John Wall was mostly number one. Anthony Davis was consensus number one by the end. Carl Towns was number one in most, although some people had the Mecca or Jalil Okafor as number one. And then scowl, scowl. Those are. Those are the four.
Matt Jones
Are there any others even?
Ryan Lemond
I think that's it. Sam Buoy was ranked high, but I don't think he was number one. I think he was like two or three. Yeah, cuz Sam, Jamal Mashburn was like number three or something like that. So it's four times and this would be the fifth. And let me just say three of those four ended up really, really good. Are you. What do you think?
Matt Jones
I'm excited about it. There's a long, long time. I didn't think Kentucky really was. Had a good chance to get this kid. He's from Louisville, grew up in Louisville. His parents apparently are Louisville fans. And now he's eliminated Louisville from his final list.
Ryan Lemond
Most people think it's gonna be Kentucky or Oregon. So it's basically history versus probably a lot of money. We, I mean, I'd say we're probably offering him a lot of money too, but. But for the most part, history or a lot. So what do you think?
Shannon Dawson
Mark Bop has checked a lot of boxes in his one year here, but the question has been can he get a top recruit? And I think this will be it. Yeah, this will be it right here.
Ryan Lemond
This will be it. So watch for that this weekend. There's not a set announcement, but some people believe it could come this weekend. If it doesn't though, I'm. I'm kind of out on the pick and what weekend? I'll just wait till he actually does it.
Matt Jones
Yeah, I was surprised that it came up so quick that he was about, about even to make a decision. I thought he was still a ways away, but that's a big get. If Pope's able to pull that one.
Ryan Lemond
In, I'm give you two debates. I always like my, my jury panel here. So let's, let's start with this one. This is happening in Powell County, Kentucky.
Shannon Dawson
I know this story.
Ryan Lemond
All right. In Powell County, Kentucky, Halloween decorations. Man in Powell county puts up every year five skeletons up as his Halloween decorations. And apparently as with the skeletons, he puts five famous people that he doesn't like. So I don't know who he's had over the years, but usually they're, they're, they're famous people that he doesn't like. But this year he decided to make it people in Powell County. Right. So politicians in Powell County. So rather than just saying like, I don't like, you know, George Clooney, he's saying, I don't like Bob the Sheriff. Right. The city said, no, that's threatening. You cannot, you cannot. You're threatening your fellow citizen. Now they didn't say anything the first few years when he had like famous people. But now that he said local people, they're saying they're threatening. He has filed suit saying, it is my first amendment right to put up. You're let. As long as you let people put Halloween stuff up, you let other people put skeletons up. Why when I put somebody's name on there, how are you not making my violating my first amendment rights? So here's my question for you. Two different rights here. First Amendment versus we don't want people to threaten public officials. Do you consider it threatening or not? What do you make of it? Which way you gonna go? You're the court. You're having to decide does he get to put local politicians names on his skeletons for Halloween?
Shannon Dawson
From what I read, from what I understand, it was like mayor on one of them. Then he had like zoning manager. He was mad at the zone, like the zoning because apparently he had a zoning violation.
Commercial Announcer
Yeah.
Shannon Dawson
So as long as he doesn't have the actual person's name on the body.
Ryan Lemond
But I mean, clearly he's talking about the local mayor.
Shannon Dawson
Wait, this is mayor? It could be any mayor.
Ryan Lemond
Nah, he means he specifically said, I'm mad at our mayor and our zoning. May said that in the interview?
Shannon Dawson
Yeah, yeah, I, I think I lean in the favor of the guy who is the homeowner who puts to put it up. It's all in good fun. I don't think there's anything.
Ryan Lemond
What if he put Donald Trump?
Shannon Dawson
Yeah. Now you're talking specific names. So I think that's.
Ryan Lemond
What if he just put President.
Shannon Dawson
Yeah, Let it go.
Ryan Lemond
I mean, see, I don't understand the difference between title and name. Like, you know who he's talking about. So what difference does it make whether.
Shannon Dawson
You could be President Zelensky? I don't know. It could be. It could be anybody.
Ryan Lemond
But what if he does an interview that says, I am talk about Mayor Jenkins?
Shannon Dawson
Well, that would be stupid if he did that interview.
Ryan Lemond
Well, he did. He's already done it.
Shannon Dawson
So I think I'm fine with the guy doing the decorations.
Matt Jones
Halloween's supposed to be fun, man. Decorations. You know, you put out your witch and your skeleton and your ghost. I think it's almost crossing the line to make it a personal attack, like he's taking the Halloween tradition of.
Ryan Lemond
What if he put Taylor Swift?
Matt Jones
Yeah, I don't like it at all.
Shannon Dawson
What if I had.
Ryan Lemond
I didn't ask if he liked it. The question is, should he be allowed to do it? It's not about whether or not Ryan likes it. It's whether or not it should be legal.
Matt Jones
Because you're right, it is his private property. That's his private residence as he owns that law.
Ryan Lemond
It is his private property. But he couldn't write, I'm going to shoot the mayor. He can't write that. We know that. That's settled law. And he can. He could put a parody of the mayor. So he could put the mayor as a clown. Right. So he could put the. He could create the mayor's face and put a clown face on it. The question is, is it using a skeleton? Does that switch it from legal parody to a threat? Threats are illegal. Parodies are. Okay, which one is this?
Shannon Dawson
I will say it's not a threat. Now, we use this as an example. Do you know the band Guar? Do you know who they are? I do every show they do. They bring up somebody who looks like the president, whoever that happens to be, and they essentially act out like they're killing the president on stage.
Ryan Lemond
I don't know if you do that, so.
Shannon Dawson
Well, they do it. So my point is, if they can get away with doing that, then why should this guy be prosecuted when they do it? They've been doing it for years.
Ryan Lemond
Just in your mind, is that more of a threat or is that more of a parody?
Shannon Dawson
It's a parody. It's a parody for me, Ryan.
Matt Jones
I think I'm going to lean parody also.
Shannon Dawson
I thought you Were just saying a minute ago the opposite.
Matt Jones
I said I don't like it. But I mean if you're trying to. We're going to make a legal decision. Yeah, I think it's more.
Ryan Lemond
I generally would say you allow it. Unless he's insinuating he's going to do something to one up. If he's insinuating he's going to do something to one of them, then that's. You can't do that.
Shannon Dawson
Yep.
Ryan Lemond
So. But you know are like skeletons are part of Halloween. Right. So it's not now if you made it like a body and then that's a whole nother thing.
Shannon Dawson
Right.
Ryan Lemond
Like so for me I would lean towards saying he does have a first amendment. But it's going to court. Kentucky Supreme Court's gonna hear.
Shannon Dawson
I saw he had a five thousand dollar bond. I feel like that's a little.
Ryan Lemond
See, you definitely shouldn't arrest him. I mean that like, like there I, I do not think he should get criminal charges. That, that, that to me, whatever happened.
Matt Jones
That dude that had like those tombstones and your name was on one of the tombstones.
Shannon Dawson
Well, that was a cartoon I think. Right.
Ryan Lemond
Well, but, but that's a great point. If you have to me, tombstones with people's names on it is even more of a threat than skeletons in some ways. Cuz like a skeleton can be funny. A tombstone is. You are dead. Right. And that was a politician that did that to me. That was like a guy running for governor, I think, wasn't it?
Matt Jones
I think it was, yeah.
Ryan Lemond
Yeah. So. All right, second question. There's somebody that probably very few people here know, but his name is Hasan Piker. All right? He's this liberal guy. He gets on twitch and he just talks about politics, but he's kind of like handsome dude. He's very popular with young, with younger people. He's on his little stream yesterday. All of a sudden he's got a, he's got a dog. All right. He's got a collar on his dog. People think he hits a button and has like a shock collar on his dog. So there's this big debate, does he have a shot collar? Does he not? He says it was not an electric shock collar, it was something else. Is there another kind of collar where you do something to people?
Matt Jones
Well, they're barking, they may bark, you can hit it. They try to keep people from barking.
Ryan Lemond
But what, what does it do?
Matt Jones
It sends them a little electrical shock.
Ryan Lemond
Okay, so that's my question. Yeah, people are roasting this guy because they Said you have a shot collar, you're supposed to care about animals, and you have a shot caller. Here's my question for you, because I honestly don't know the answer, and I'm not an animal person. Is having, like, a little collar on dogs, is that inhumane? Because I. I didn't even know that that was a debate. But online yesterday, if you got online and people had strong positions on whether or not you should have a shot collar or not, you're. You're not your dog guy. Do you think that's okay?
Matt Jones
Yeah. And we got, you know, in trouble for our dogs barking all the time, so we got these little shock collars, and.
Ryan Lemond
Oh, so you're gonna cancel.
Matt Jones
You.
Ryan Lemond
Like we do.
Matt Jones
But after a couple weeks, maybe even a month, I'm like, this is ridiculous. So we.
Ryan Lemond
Why was it ridiculous?
Matt Jones
Because I actually. I grabbed a hold of it and did the shock myself. Like, whoa.
Ryan Lemond
Oh, you shocked yourself?
Shannon Dawson
Yeah. I think that makes a big difference if you feel the shock, you know, the intensity.
Matt Jones
Oh, yeah.
Shannon Dawson
I think it depend.
Matt Jones
Depends on.
Ryan Lemond
So once you felt it, you were like, I don't want to do this to my dog.
Shannon Dawson
So if we. If we put that collar around you and hit it, you wouldn't go outside the. The gates.
Ryan Lemond
So. So do you think those things. Do you think putting a shot collar on a dog is inhumane? Because, honestly, I don't have an opinion, because, I don't know.
Matt Jones
I don't think so. I don't think it's inhumane.
Ryan Lemond
But you decided not to do it.
Matt Jones
Because, you know, like, they got the. The electrical fences in your yards and.
Ryan Lemond
Yeah, we do that with, like, cows and horses and stuff.
Matt Jones
Yeah.
Shannon Dawson
Have cattle prods we use.
Matt Jones
But to purposely push the button just because he was barking. That's what I think. I don't like.
Ryan Lemond
Okay, what about.
Shannon Dawson
You made it. Shut up. It worked, right?
Matt Jones
Yeah.
Shannon Dawson
So I. I feel like it's a little inhumane. I've never used one before. I've had dogs before.
Ryan Lemond
How many dog owners are. Are here? Okay, if you're a dog owner, how many of you think it's inhumane? How many of you think it's five? All right, it's about 50. 50. It's about 50. 50. And if you were on the Internet Yesterday, it was 50. 50. Was it, like, people were going at each other. He was, like, trying to defend himself. He's like, it's not a shot collar. It's a. And he called it something else. I don't even know what he meant, but it Was clearly something that gave some kind of thing. But I didn't even know that was a debate. First of all, I don't even know if I realized that people still had those.
Shannon Dawson
Yeah.
Ryan Lemond
But secondly, I didn't know that it was a debate. So you've had one and then gotten rid of.
Matt Jones
I've had the electric fence in my yard and I've had the shot collar. Both trying to. The ones in the yard, I guess I'm okay with. Kind of teaches them, you know, they.
Shannon Dawson
Can'T run away because you're not controlling it. Right.
Ryan Lemond
Right.
Shannon Dawson
Did you feel guilty when you hit that?
Matt Jones
Yes. Yeah.
Ryan Lemond
So you, you. But okay, so that's a good question. Did you stop doing it because it was inhumane or did you stop doing it because you felt guilty?
Matt Jones
I think I felt guilty.
Shannon Dawson
You felt guilty because it's inhumane. That's why you felt guilty.
Matt Jones
And I could. After I grabbed it and felt it and did it to myself like, whoa, yeah, I'm not doing that anymore.
Ryan Lemond
Well, anyway, I. Sometimes you realize there are these huge debates that I didn't even know was a debate. Do you, you have a dog right here. Do you have one of those collars for them? And you would, you wouldn't do it. Look, he does, he doesn't look like he needs it. I agree.
Shannon Dawson
Maybe a jolted caffeine instead.
Matt Jones
He's just, he's been asleep the whole show.
Ryan Lemond

Welcome back. It is Kentucky Sports Radio again. You never know when you do this show. You never know what people are going to care about. People have strong, strong opinions on the text machine, on the callers. Apparently there's also a vibrating collar. I think that's what he said he was using. It wasn't a shock, it was a vibrate.
Shannon Dawson
I think that makes a difference.
Ryan Lemond
I don't know what's. I don't know what he had or what he didn't, but I think more interestingly, it's the strong opinions people just have on it in general. And who knew Ryan was at the forefront of all this and with his own dog. Hey, once you turn your microphone up there, that's be good. He picked up the wrong use, the one that actually works.
Shannon Dawson
But animal lovers are very, you know, they're a very passionate group of people and any kind of harm at all, they go off.
Matt Jones
Said we use electric fences around cows. They use electric pokers when, you know, they're loading up livestock on the trucks.
Ryan Lemond
Yeah, no, they do. Before we go, phones. Phillies. What a way to lose last night.
Matt Jones
Yeah, awful.
Ryan Lemond
Do you feel bad for the pitcher?
Matt Jones
Yes, I do.
Shannon Dawson
But you know, you know how I feel about Philadelphia. But even I kind of felt bad for the pitcher. He had plenty of time. He just, he just had a moment.
Ryan Lemond
Where he panicked, especially because he just sat there.
Matt Jones
Yeah.
Ryan Lemond
On the bench, staring ahead. Sad. For a long time. Yeah, that man. I was like, man, just go inside. You don't have to, like, you don't have to sit out here and bask in it. I felt, I felt really bad for him because he had plenty of time. He would have, he, he'd have been out by a lot.
Shannon Dawson
He bobbled the ball and then when panicked. Yep, he did. And then he could have, like you said, could have thrown the first. Could have gotten out of the inning onto the 12th, but nope, the.
Ryan Lemond
That was a great baseball game. Like, that's one of the few non Reds games I watched like six or seven innings of. And I just hate that it ended like that.
Matt Jones
Yeah, these are two of the best teams, I think in baseball. And that's a routine play that dude is made since his little league game. You know, a little ground ball back to the pitcher. Pick it up, scoop it up, throw it to first base. And I know it. He won't. He's having a hard time getting over that. I guarantee it's gonna make it.
Ryan Lemond
And it stinks that he missed the catcher because I think the guy was going to be safe either way. But by throwing it so far away, it made it even look worse, you.
Shannon Dawson
Know, and his manager came out and met the pitcher before he came into the dugout. It was almost like a little league player so bad you could tell it in his body.
Ryan Lemond
I did. I did feel bad for him. Who's up first? Mike. Mike. Go ahead, Mike. Hey, guys. Good morning. I got season tickets for UK basketball with my brother in law and we are splitting those up this weekend, including the exhibition games. Will y' all give me maybe your top five or six games? Great call. Out of the home games this year. All right, that's a great call. So if I were going to rank games I would want on the UK home basketball schedule if we were to do a draft. All right, I'm gonna, I'm gonna take first pick and then we'll draft a couple rounds here with the first pick of the sec. You care of the UK basketball schedule Draft. I'm taking. I'm gonna take Florida because it's gonna be one of the last games of the year. Both teams could be in the top five. I'm gonna take Florida. What do you want?
Matt Jones
Yeah, you took my pick. So I guess with my second pick, I'll take. I'll take Tennessee at home.
Ryan Lemond
You're gonna take Tennessee. All right, Shannon, what are you gonna pick?
Shannon Dawson
Oh, man. There's not a who though. I mean, I'm looking through the schedule right now talking about games at Rupper Arena, Michigan State. That, that's, that's.
Ryan Lemond
Yeah. I mean your choices are probably. Since you're not. Your choice is gonna be North Carolina, Indiana, Purdue.
Shannon Dawson
Oh, okay. Purdue. If we're gonna take an exhibition, I'll take Purdue. Number one team in the country. I didn't know we were going exhibition games. I'll go Purdue.
Matt Jones
Wow.
Ryan Lemond
So you would take an exhibition game even though it doesn't matter?
Shannon Dawson
Sure, absolutely. I think that's going to be a great environment.
Ryan Lemond
Well then I'm going to take North Carolina. If you're go. Give me that one. So I'll have Florida and North Carolina. I would feel pretty good about it. What do. I would assume. Will you take Indiana?
Matt Jones
I'm going to take Indiana then. Yeah.
Ryan Lemond
And then after that I think it's Texas probably. The next one's probably Texas. You're exactly right. The next. Because We. Our SEC home schedule, we've kind of play all the bad teams here.
Matt Jones
Yeah.
Ryan Lemond
And we play all the good teams on the road. So I think those are. Are the games that would stick out. Now let me ask you. Let's throw in. You could have tickets to any game. So that includes St. John's in Atlanta, Michigan State in New York City, Louisville at Louisville, Gonzaga at Nashville, at Alabama at Auburn, at Arkansas. Let's do a road game draft. I went first the last time. So, Shannon, you pick which road or.
Shannon Dawson
Neutral game you want to go to at Arkansas. We owe them one for that game last year where Cal came in and beat Kentucky at rough.
Ryan Lemond
Give me problem with that one is what if you lose and you have to walk out of there.
Shannon Dawson
Yeah, but what if you win? What if you win?
Ryan Lemond
All right, so you want to add Arkansas. What are you taking?
Matt Jones
I'm gonna take at Auburn against Stephen Pearl. Yeah. I feel like it's gonna be. That'll be a crazy, crazy environment.
Ryan Lemond
All right, so I'm going to. I've got already. I'm going to North Carolina and I'm going to Florida or playing Florida home. So I'm not going to go down to Gainesville because I'm gonna see him here. So I'm gonna take a neutral game. I got Michigan State, St. John's you know what? I'm going to Louisville.
Shannon Dawson
Louisville.
Ryan Lemond
I'm going to Louisville middle fingers up and walking into the yum center.
Shannon Dawson
Yep. So now bring it. So now you leave me North Carolina, Gonzaga, or St. John is at home.
Ryan Lemond
Or you. You got. No, you. You get Gonzaga, Michigan State, St. John's at Alabama, at Tennessee, at Florida.
Shannon Dawson
I know St. John's really isn't a rival, but the fact that they're coached by Rick Patino and we get to see Pope vs. Patino in Atlanta. Give me SA.
Ryan Lemond
What about you?
Matt Jones
I'm gonna take Gonzaga in Nashville then, because I think it's gonna be a crazy environment also.
Ryan Lemond
Okay. So that leaves me. What does that leave me? That leaves me at Alabama. At least me. The SEC game. So at. Or Michigan State, New York. You know, I'm gonna go. I'm gonna go down to Alabama. I think that's a. If that's a good place to watch a game. So I'm gonna go at. I'm going to the Louisville and I'm going to Alabama. So I like my games. I get. I get North Carolina at home, I get Florida at home, and then I'm going to Louisville and going to Alabama. I'm going to see four great games.
Shannon Dawson
We're going to keep going now.
Ryan Lemond
We're good.
Shannon Dawson
Okay.
Matt Jones
I thought you would pick Bellarmine. Bellarmin's on the schedule for me personally.
Ryan Lemond
Yeah, yeah, Kentucky does play Bellarmine at home. Who's next?
Matt Jones
Nick.
Ryan Lemond
Nick. Go ahead, Nick. Yes, go ahead. Hey, so I'm just throwing out there the. You guys are talking about tombstones with names on them. Yes. N. Garrett decorates his house for Halloween with tombstones with the player, the quarterback stack, and the great, the best stack leader of all time, Bruce Smith. Yeah, but the thing about the Miles Garrett thing is different because he said, I mean, he's saying I sacked this guy. He's not insinuating that this person should be dead. I think there's, that, there's a little bit of a difference between that. I mean, when that guy running for governor put my name on this tombstone, I don't think he was saying he sacked me. Since he's never met me. I think it was a little bit more of an ominous thing.
Shannon Dawson
Maybe the guy from Powell county wants to go sack the zoning manager.
Ryan Lemond
Yeah, I didn't realize. I appreciate the call. I didn't realize they've arrested him.
Shannon Dawson
Oh, yeah, they arrested him. Like I said, $5,000.
Ryan Lemond
That makes sense.
Matt Jones
It. On what? Threatening charges?
Shannon Dawson
Terroristic threatening.
Ryan Lemond
See, to me that's nonsense. Yeah, they got to drop that. That's nonsense.
Shannon Dawson
I agree.
Ryan Lemond
Like, terroristic threatening requires, like, you're about, you're on your way to do something.
Shannon Dawson
Yeah. Or you say something verbally.
Ryan Lemond
Yeah. But not just. You say it like you mean it, like you might do it.
Matt Jones
Yeah.
Ryan Lemond
This is not, that's ridiculous. I, I can't believe they're, I thought it was a civil thing. If they're criminally charging him, that's ridiculous.
Shannon Dawson
Like, if I drove by somebody's house and they had, you know, KSR producer, I wouldn't call and try to get the guy arrested. I feel like, hey, that's cool. You're going to have to front yard for their Halloween decorations.
Ryan Lemond
Well, I will say, I mean, just to play devil's advocate, people sort of, people throw, like, just look past threats. Like, it's different when it, it's different when you're getting it. I mean, I, I, I've gotten a bunch over the years. Back in the old Louisville days when I was thinking about running a little bit during the Cal stuff. Like, when you get real threats, it doesn't feel good. It's not funny. So I do, you do have to be careful about that. We'll take a break and be right back. This is Kentucky Sports Radio.
Matt Jones
T.J. smith, personal injury attorney. Call T.J. he'll make him pay.
Shannon Dawson
Now more of Kentucky sports radio presented by Stockton mortgage. Here's Matt Jones.
Ryan Lemond
Welcome back. It is Kentucky sports radio here live at Wild eggs in Hamb. Got breakfast, brunch and lunch with a bar. You can get catering. 859-712. Eggs. They brought food over there. That was really good. What's the egg thing? I ate right over there. That was really, really good. That's. I've never had that before.
Matt Jones
I'm not for sure.
Ryan Lemond
Whatever it was, I'm a big fan.
Shannon Dawson
French toast is gone. You got the, the pumpkin flavored pancake. It was delicious.
Matt Jones
And we killed the potato head casserole. Tots are gone.
Ryan Lemond
All right. You wouldn't skip halftime adjustments. So don't skip your skin cancer treating treatment. Actually yesterday, two days ago, I went to dermatology. I had to have a little place scraped off my face but it was fine. But I knew I got checked. Cause of things like the Kentucky skin cancer center. They got them in Muhlenberg County. They got them in Franklin, Glasgow, Bowling Green, Owensboro. They stopped putting that little town. They just say Muhlenberg County. I liked when they said that. Go to Kentuckyskincancer.com Kentuckyskincancercenter.com or 270-54-2842. 1999. Go get it checked out at the Kentucky skin cancer center. Let's make our KSR parlay from DraftKings pick. I'm gonna go first. I've got Alabama just to beat Missouri there. It's only a 2 1/2 point favorite. You're telling. You know what, I'll do it to cover the spread. Just. I will cover two and a half. I got Alabama. I know they're on the road but Bama's rolling. This is the time Missouri takes a step back. Give me Alabama on the road to cover against Missouri. The two and a half. What about you? Right.
Matt Jones
I need a layup. You're gonna give me a layup.
Ryan Lemond
You're like one in four this year.
Matt Jones
So I need a layup. I'll take an Oregon moneyline over Indiana.
Shannon Dawson
Seven.
Matt Jones
Seven said seven or less.
Ryan Lemond
Yeah. I don't like it's seven and a half on this. It's got to be seven or less.
Matt Jones
I got seven on DraftKings.
Ryan Lemond
Is it seven on?
Shannon Dawson
Yes.
Matt Jones
Yeah.
Ryan Lemond
All right, I'll let you have. Yes, I'll let you have it. If Indiana wins though, you're out.
Matt Jones
I agreed.
Ryan Lemond
If Indiana wins, you're out. Shannon, what do you got?
Shannon Dawson
All right, since you guys have stolen my first two picks, in honor of my guy right here wearing the Oklahoma Sooners hat, I'm gonna take.
Ryan Lemond
You know, we don't know if the quarterback's playing or not. Does that matter to you? We don't know. If John Mattier doesn't play, I think it's a completely different game.
Shannon Dawson
Well, you don't know who I'm gonna pick. I might have picked against him.
Ryan Lemond
Well, you said in honor of his shirt. I assumed you were picking him, but if you want to, go ahead.
Shannon Dawson
Well, now you're trying to flip. Okay, look, I'm going Oklahoma. I don't care who their quarterback is. Oklahoma wins tomorrow.
Ryan Lemond
Is. What's the spread?
Shannon Dawson
One and a half.
Ryan Lemond
Okay, so you're taking Oklahoma.
Shannon Dawson
You know what? Let's take one and a half. Let's take the one and a half.
Ryan Lemond
In the one and a half. All right, so we got Oklahoma covering one and a half, Alabama covering two and a half. Ryan's wimpy Oregon money line over Indiana, which is the wimpiest bet of all time and kills our odds. We need one more because Drew's not here. Liam, I mean, you did a good job with the Pope interview. You've played pretty good music, so I'm going to give you a chance to be the fourth one. However, if you miss it, just know all of Big Blue Nation will hate you. So go ahead and. Go ahead and make your pick.
Shannon Dawson
They say pressure make diamonds or it bursts. So we'll figure out, but I think Wake Forest.
Ryan Lemond
Robbie Ashford on the road against Oregon State and Corvallis. Corvallis.
Matt Jones
Same thing.
Shannon Dawson
Tomato, tomato. What a ball noise.
Ryan Lemond
So what's the spread on that one?
Shannon Dawson
It's three, but can we just go.
Ryan Lemond
With the money line? So you're just gonna take Wake Forest to cover, or no, wait for us to win?
Matt Jones
Yeah.
Shannon Dawson
Cause maybe, like, a blocked field goal happens, they win by.
Ryan Lemond
Okay. All right. So Wake Forest to win or. Where's Mario? You writing these down? Wake Force to win. Oregon to win. Me and Shannon have cajones. We're picking our teams to actually cover Alabama and Oklahoma. That's right. I worry about your Oklahoma. If Mattier plays, I like your pick. If he doesn't, we're running the ball.
Shannon Dawson
It's okay.
Ryan Lemond
Who's up next?
Shannon Dawson
Isaiah.
Ryan Lemond
Isaiah. Go ahead, Isaiah. Hey, fellas. Me and the wife are headed to Lexington for the weekend to watch the Baby Madness. We've never tried KS Bar and Grill. We wanted to go. So what's something you all kind of recommend for us to try there? Same thing. I always would say four things. Wings, cheese log, beer, cheese, queso. And now I add to that the burgers, because they're very good. So whichever of those tickle your fancy, those would be the ones I'd go. And by the way, all day tomorrow, we've got specials going for the start of basketball season for the pro day and Big Blue Madness. So come through either before or after. We'll be there all day. But, yes, any of those. I mean, part of the reason we shrunk the menu is I wanted to make sure everything on it was good. So now everything's good. But those are the things I think are the best.
Shannon Dawson
Best.
Ryan Lemond
Okay, well, I appreciate you guys. Y' all have a good weekend. There you go. Well, that was an easy question.
Matt Jones
You know, we've got some of the best drink specials in town that kind of people don't even know about. Like, Thursday through Sunday, we've got these unbelievable drink specials.
Ryan Lemond
We really do. And, like, I don't know if we'll keep them when basketball starts, because we need to make money. So now's the time to actually. So now's the time to actually use them. You should. This Saturday is a really. We're going to have. There's a lot going on Saturday. And then I got an interesting phone. Well, I'm gonna save this story for another time. I got an interesting phone call about somebody wanting to have an event there. Yeah, I'll just save it. This remind. Remind me about it next week. I don't want to. I don't want to spoil it yet. Who's up next? Donnie. Donnie. Go ahead, Donnie. Good morning, fellas. Good morning. Going back to the big. Going back to the Big Blue Madness. It's all great.
Shannon Dawson
I agree with you about the John Wall Dance, but the Midnight Madness back in the day, it was, like, unprecedented.
Ryan Lemond
It was so cool.
Matt Jones
We all.
Ryan Lemond
Half the state of Kentucky would be up at midnight just to get a first look at these guys.
Shannon Dawson
Because, you know, we didn't have the.
Ryan Lemond
Internet back then, so it's a little different. And one other thing real quick, Shannon, Why would you schedule a show during the Big Blue Magic? Thank you.
Shannon Dawson
He's talking about the band.
Ryan Lemond
Oh, you have a show. Very Big Blue Madness.
Shannon Dawson
Well, we were thinking, you know, Kentucky football's off, but I don't think anybody's caring about Kentucky football at this point. Yeah, it's tomorrow night. It's Tomorrow night at Pope Lick Park.
Ryan Lemond
Let me ask you a question. Since now the reason they changed it from midnight to earlier in the day was so it could be on television. Right. Because it was on ESPN for a while and then it was on the SEC network. Now that it's not, and now that it's back to just being on the computer, would you recommend going back to midnight and having a Memorial Coliseum?
Matt Jones
I would like. The caller said there was something magical that when they, the clock struck, you know, they had the clock struck. The clock struck.
Shannon Dawson
It's clucking.
Matt Jones
Have it on the scoreboard and it countdown and it finally gets to zero and the horn sound. There's something that was kind of, kind of cool and special about that.
Ryan Lemond
I always understood why they moved it when they were getting television cut coverage. But if you're not going to get television coverage and it's just going to be on the Internet, then, Shannon, I, I kind of say, yeah, let's go back in history. Let's do the whole thing. I mean, I know they, there's worries about people having out. They don't want people camping out. I mean, I get all that, but can you imagine what the environment would be like on campus if everybody was waiting until midnight? Yeah, you don't have to camp out. I mean, you can make it to where it's tickets, but can you imagine what those, those streets and those bars would be like? I just, just. That would be a cool way to get energy into the season. So I kind of like the idea.
Shannon Dawson
Yeah, I like that as well. You know, they did it before because they had to. They had to wait till 1201am before they could officially practice. I think it would be cool.
Ryan Lemond
Used to be the rule, right? Right.
Shannon Dawson
Yeah. So I think it would be cool to go back to that if you're not going to have it televised.
Ryan Lemond
Yep. One person writes. Matt, I listen to your and Drew's Cover Zero podcast. By the way, if you haven't listened to this, I do think the one we did Wednesday, me, Drew and Billy, might be our best one yet. So if you haven't gone to NFL Cover Zero, do it. You don't have to like the NFL. You just have to tolerate us. And you were talking about Build a Bear. I don't think you all realize just how big Build a Bear is. So I have to tell you, Shannon, I didn't even know Build a Bear was still a thing.
Shannon Dawson
I didn't either.
Ryan Lemond
I, I remember Build a Bear when I was a kid. You go to the mall they'd like, put little bows and arrows. I guess they are not arrows, but they put, like, ties and could have an archer bear clothes and all these on bears. Then was it Drew or Billy? Somebody said that the. The stock for Build a Bear has gone up like a bajillion percent. And I said, who still goes to build a Bear? I. I had no idea. Did you know how big build a Bear is now? Just building your own teddy bear?
Shannon Dawson
Yeah, I knew it was.
Ryan Lemond
First of all, the stock since COVID is like 20 times higher than it was before.
Shannon Dawson
For.
Ryan Lemond
It's like if you had invested in build a Bear, you could retire. Secondly, they, like, put it on cruise ships and things where you're trapped, you know, like, I don't know.
Shannon Dawson
I'm on this boat. Might as well build a bear.
Ryan Lemond
Might as well build a bear. Fayette Mall. Apparently you have to have an appointment.
Matt Jones
Yeah.
Ryan Lemond
At Fayette Mall to build a bear. Now, like, you can't just go build a bear. You have to have an appointment. You have to, like, pay off people on the street to get to go to build a Bear. I had no idea. And then when we talked about it, the text machine has been every night just people telling me, matt, you have no idea about Build a Bear. Did you all know Build a Bear was such a thing?
Matt Jones
I only know it because anytime you walk by one in the mall, it is packed. I mean, there are a hundred people in that little store. There's two stores that get a lot of crowd at and t store and Build a Bear. That's it.
Shannon Dawson
Not Spencer Gifts anymore.
Matt Jones
No. I don't know if it's still there.
Ryan Lemond
Did you. Did you know that build a Bear was as big as. No.
Shannon Dawson
I thought when that became a thing, it would be a fad. It would be gone within two or three years and you'd never hear from it again. But I think a lot of it is parents now who had Build a Bears when they were a kid. Now they're. They have their own kids, and now they're taking them to build a bear.
Ryan Lemond
Trying to figure out, though, is why it's so popular. Because now on the Internet, conceivably you could get whatever you want.
Matt Jones
Right.
Shannon Dawson
But I think it's the process.
Ryan Lemond
You're shaking your head. That's not true. You need to personalize it. So is there something exciting about just walking with your kid and going, would you like a mustache? Or how about a chocolate or something? Like, your daughter loves it. So they've all her daughters and all of them.
Shannon Dawson
I Think it's the process of watching it being made. You can't do that if you order it on Amazon.
Ryan Lemond
Stuff it yourself.
Matt Jones
Yeah.
Ryan Lemond
So you put all the like innards in. That's probably not the word they use as innards.
Shannon Dawson
The guts. Put a heart in it. Oh, you can put a heart, put like a little thing in it or you can record a voice message.
Ryan Lemond
You put intestines in it as well.
Shannon Dawson
A heart, lungs, kidney.
Ryan Lemond
Yeah, well, gallbladder. I will say that's one of the great things about doing these other podcasts is I learned. I had no idea. Ryan. Build a bear is like is one of the biggest things going. And I, I didn't have a clue.
Matt Jones
You know, none of us have daughters, but I guess, guess if you've got a daughter. If I had a daughter, she won one. You better believe I'm taking her that we're going to make a bear.
Ryan Lemond
So there you go. This is, it's like I wish we'd invested in it. Why did Tom Hart tell us zoom, that stock's crashed. We could have been in build a Bear and we all could have.
Shannon Dawson
We should all go build a bear after the show.
Ryan Lemond
No, thank you. We will take a break and be right back. This is Kentucky Sports Radio.

I actually really like this song. Welcome back. It is Kentucky Sports Radio. Dolly is alive. Turns out she just had kidney stones. Yeah, feels like sister overreacted.
Shannon Dawson
Frida needs to calm down a little bit.
Ryan Lemond
Frida needs to chill. Stella. Her name's Stella.
Matt Jones
Stella Parton.
Ryan Lemond
Yeah, well, Stella needs to chill too. Stella. Stella had me worried and I mean, kidney stones aren't fun, but like, my.
Shannon Dawson
Dad had kidney stones all the time. He's fine. He survived. Doesn't feel like anything to alert anybody about.
Ryan Lemond
Let me give you a. A couple updates here. First of all, one person writes mattress lives in Powell County. I was texting him about this and he said there's a fact that you left out. He said that one of the skeletons had a noose around it. Does that change your mind? Well, that wasn't in the story I read, so I'm not confirming that's true. But if that's true, then yes, it does change my mind because that is the act starts moving towards threat.
Shannon Dawson
The act of killing.
Ryan Lemond
Right? Like. Like that goes from like the moment you put a noose on it. Now it's making me sound like you're wanting to do something. I still don't think I'd Put you in jail for it. But at that point I might say you can't have it up. So that if that's true that does alter my opinion a little bit about it.
Matt Jones
And I guess that's was the reason for the terroristic threatening the arrest of the guy because of maybe that one.
Ryan Lemond
That's probably how they justify.
Shannon Dawson
I would say take that one down. The rest are okay.
Ryan Lemond
Yeah, I think that's right now assuming I don't know if that's just what the text machine person. Second thing and somebody told me this. I think the lady over there. You care. Maybe you tried to say it. Shannon.
Matt Jones
Yeah.
Ryan Lemond
You can put people's voices in the bear. So grandparents will put their voices in the bear. So presumably the child will always, even after the grandparent is gone, be able to hear the grandparents voice. I actually think that's very sweet. Sweet. So if that's true. Well, I guess it is true. Why would someone make that up? That makes sense now I would think the battery could run out or something. Yeah.
Shannon Dawson
There's double A batteries, AAA batteries.
Ryan Lemond
But I do think that's. That I could see. That's sweet.
Shannon Dawson
That's something you would hang on I think for your entire life, even through adulthood, you know, having your grandparents voice.
Ryan Lemond
On a, on a here told me on you on the birthday of your child, you can buy the basic bear for the cost of however old your child. Sell this. So for instance, we could buy one for Ryan and it would be really expensive.
Matt Jones
Buy one for that little girl and it's $3.
Ryan Lemond
It's $3. You I'm gonna have to take out a loan.
Matt Jones
I just thought this. I'm gonna get you one for your birthday and I'm gonna have, I'm gonna record a bunch of stuff. You know, mommy squammy, sexy pouch.
Shannon Dawson
If you get a bear. If you get a bear that says.
Ryan Lemond
The word sexy panties to me and.
Matt Jones
Just lay it by your pillow every.
Ryan Lemond
Night, I'm gonna, I'm gonna throw you and then whatever. By the way, I was on Instagram, I was on Instagram just you know, seeing people's stories and you popped up an of not just your ad. A whole video in which you are crying. You are crying in a video. It's very sweet.
Matt Jones
For free.
Ryan Lemond
You are crying in a video for free.
Shannon Dawson
Those are free tears.
Ryan Lemond
You cannot show that level of emotion and not charge.
Matt Jones
Well I couldn't after I shed a few tears then. Okay, that's going to cost you a couple hundred dollars.
Shannon Dawson
Let me tell you if I'm Going to be crying at somebody's ad. They're going to be paying me a million dollars.
Matt Jones
That's going to cost you a box of doggy toys. Damn it.
Ryan Lemond
I mean, you literally.
Shannon Dawson
It's like, give me those eye drops.
Ryan Lemond
You literally are bawling on television for free.
Matt Jones
And that wasn't even part of the commercial. Like, it happened during the commercial break. Like, I didn't know they were still rolling.
Shannon Dawson
Of course, that's the other part of this. You should have creative freedom in the editing process if you're gonna do it for free.
Matt Jones
Ryan, wait till next time. We'll get them next time.
Ryan Lemond
Them. I don't need it next time. I got all this. I got all. Forever.
Shannon Dawson
Yeah. Crying over our product.
Matt Jones
Amazed where all this is showing up now. It's everywhere.
Ryan Lemond
The. The Savannah Bananas announced they are coming to Lexington. Sort of. They're coming to Lexington, but it's not the Savannah Bananas. Two of the other teams are going to play each other.
Shannon Dawson
Party animals.
Matt Jones
1.
Ryan Lemond
Now they're adding new teams. It's like the something, Indianapolis something, and then the something something. There's Indianapolis Coconuts. And then the other one is like an old team from the. The Negro Leagues. What? The Clowns. The Clowns.
Matt Jones
Clowns.
Ryan Lemond
So. So that they're. They're coming and they're playing here. So they say, you'll get the Savannah Bananas experience, but no Bananas.
Matt Jones
I gotta tell you, one time, the heart. I thought the Harlem Globetrotters were coming to our. One of our local schools. I went. It was the Harlem Globe Travelers. It was not the same thing.
Ryan Lemond
Well, they say this is the same thing. They say this is the exact same thing. It's just they're. They'll have different uniforms on, so. Doing it next September. Three straight nights. They expect all three to sell out at the Legend Stadium. Would you go?
Matt Jones
Yes, I am going to go. I want to go. I missed him when they were in Louisville. I could get a ticket to go see him in Louisville, the real Savannah Bananas. But I'll go to this one. I think it'll be fun to do.
Shannon Dawson
This feels like a bait and switch to me. I mean, you put the Savannah Bananas label on it, but it's not the Savannah Banana.
Ryan Lemond
They say, however, they're, like, creating a whole league. They're creating, like, eight teams.
Shannon Dawson
Banana ball.
Ryan Lemond
They're going to have, like, a real playoff. And like, they say, you know, it's all entertainment, but the game is still the game. Because the Bananas lose sometimes, right? They don't always win.
Matt Jones
Right? They play. They Play competitive baseball so well, but.
Ryan Lemond
Sometimes they drop it. Like they try to flip and catch anyway. So you will go?
Matt Jones
I go. You know, one of their players is from Lexington right now. I coached him when he was like 66 or 7 years old.
Ryan Lemond
Which team?
Matt Jones
On the team that plays against the Bananas.
Ryan Lemond
Well, there's now four. There's the party animals, firefighters, and. And whatever. So would you. You. You would not go?
Shannon Dawson
No, no, I would go to a Bananas game. But, you know, they have a lot like a lottery to be able to get tickets to buy. Yeah, to go see the Bananas. That's how popular they are. They came to slugger field. You had to win a lottery just to go to buy tickets.
Matt Jones
They'll sell it out, right?
Ryan Lemond
But you think it'll sell out even if it's not the banana?
Matt Jones
Like the Harlem Globe Travelers. Just not the same as the Harlem Globetrotters.
Ryan Lemond
Well, we'll see. I mean, they expect to sell out. Who's next?
Matt Jones
Hot.
Ryan Lemond
Real quick. Go, Hank. Hod is not a name. Hank. Go ahead. Hot.
Commercial Announcer
Hank.
Ryan Lemond
Hank. All right. No Hank. Thank you, Hank. Donfranklinauto.com Call of the day. Best selection of vehicles, best service there you guys have. What location near you? Over 25 locations all around the state. And all the vehicles you would want, the price you deserve. It's Don Franklin. Auto.com be treated like family at Don Franklin. What. What do you think happens at Big Blue Madness tomorrow night?
Matt Jones
I think it'll be a great environment, a great atmosphere, and I hate the fact I gotta miss it, but it's my dad's 84th birthday.
Ryan Lemond
But I need to say happy birthday to your dad. 84 years old. Yes, that's. That's also. Are you going up to Indiana?
Matt Jones
Yes, right now.
Ryan Lemond
What about you? What do you think's gonna happen?

Matt Jones
Good idea. But maybe to pull it off, maybe a little tricky.
Ryan Lemond

Matt Jones

Ryan Lemond
Crowd would go crazy if he did.
Matt Jones
Awesome.
Ryan Lemond
Crowd would go absolutely nuts. That should happen one day. Whether it happens this way. Or not. Thank you all very much. Hey, it's Bobby from the Bobby Bone Show. I had an incredible time at this.

Ryan Lemond

Shannon Dawson
Diplo, what are you doing? He's like, I have a song that I want to show you. And I was like, okay.
Ryan Lemond
