We're doing the behind the scenes or ask anything one person writes. Matt, you guys noted that both Andrew Carr and Colin Chandler got engaged. Matt, you said that you thought that was a little young to get engaged. I don't know if I said that but. But I do think that what is the perfect age to each of you to get married? Well, I mean, that's a good question. I mean for me, I would say 57 is probably the. It's probably the age. No, I mean that's a good question. What is the, what's the per. If you were to say, okay, this is the perfect age that you should get married, not too young not too old. What would you. What would you pick? Well, I got married at 25. I got married at 35. You're gonna get married at 55? I've already passed 55, so let's go with 65. But which way? If you have a lot of experience, you've tried and failed many times. This was your favorite rank. Em. So what do you think? If you were giving young people advice, what is the right age to get married? I think you want to get your first job and get established before you get married. The kids that get married young and they don't have any money, they don't have a good career, get graduate, get a good job, get a good career, and then maybe settle down and get married. So what age? 30. All right, definitive. Okay, what about you? Let me get my hearing back. I tried to get married at. What was that? 35. Then Covid had a little role in that. So I was 38 when I finally got married. That's a little. Little late. Took me a while to find my perfect angel out there. I would say, wow, that's sweet. You know, I was just very picky. You know, I would say, a little younger than that, but not too young. I'll. Ryan's right on. I'll go 29. Just to be different than Ryan. Yeah. I mean, first of all, I would not be the person to ask, as the person who is still single, I would say, okay, it depends on do you want to have a ton of kids or not. Right. Like, if you just want to have one or two kids, I think that's different than if you want to have, like, a whole, I don't know, pack of children. So I would say 30, 32. I think people in Kentucky get. Just my opinion. I think they get married too early. I think, you know, the mitt. I'm at the stage where I have people I know who are starting to get divorced. Like, people who loved each other, like, they didn't have bad marriages. It's just like, they just kind of, you know, that's enough of you. After a while, it's a big world out there. Yeah. And so I. And. And the common denominator on a lot of those is they got married, like, really young. So I would say. I would say about. I. I don't think you really know who you are until you're in your late 20s or early 30s. And so I. That. That would be mine. But of course. Why would anyone listen to me? Because what do I know? I think you hit on something because it Depends on do you want to have children. If you want to have a lot of children, though, you got to get going, you know, because there's a. I don't know the science of it, but like you take some. Some time in their eggs and ovaries and their things. So if you wait behind the scenes, you wait till 40, 45 and you have a kid, you'll be like me. And kids are asking, Josiah, Josiah, is that your grandpa? No, that's my dad. Yeah. Yeah. If I had a kid, I don't know what would happen. Like I'd be the oldest person at everything. But the, the, you know, there might be some here. I don't mean anyone in particular, but the marrying your high school sweetheart thing seems to fall apart a lot. Fall in love too early. You don't. You would. I mean, I'm sure there's some that work, don't get me wrong. But yeah, I think there. Maybe you need to kiss a few frogs out there before you. There is one. There is a KSR wedding coming up. Little Billy. When is that? You don't know yet. Nonchalant like you've been engaged though for a while. What do. What are you waiting on the right place. KS Bar & Grill is a great place to get married. We have Harper hall. We got. There's all kinds of places. Hopefully you can. I can vouch for Harper Hall's tables. Your guests can knock them over, spill things everywhere. One person writes. Matt, does Ryan think he will miss having Dane or will it be easier to talk about the UK football team not having Dane on the team? That's a good. That's a good question. I will absolutely miss him. I loved going to the games when he's played the last three years. Loved it, loved it, loved. Josiah and I went to all the home games, went to several road games. But they. I think it will be easier to talk about the UK program with him not on the team. I will say it is always really made me mad the way people would get mad at you about Dane Key. Like, I mean, especially on social media, if he would drop a pass, people would yell at you and they would also expect you to do something they would never. I mean, just think about. Take your, your best friend's kid. Would you go on the public airwaves and blast your best friend's kid? Like none of you all would do that. Like nobody's gonna do that, but people expected you to do that. And I always thought that was unfair to you. I often probably tried to play the bad Guy with Dane just so you didn't have to sometimes, but I always thought that was unfair. I do think it'll be easier for you because, you know, you were just in a tough position in that world. I mean, like, it's one thing to say somebody's your. Like I always say, Vince, and he is my friend, but, like, that's a whole different connection. Like, that would be, like, for me, like, my friend tall or hubby's kid. Like you. They. It was different. And people just expected you to do things they would never expect themselves to. And I really appreciate when you would kind of deflect and be. Be that guy, especially during this transfer portal thing. You know, it was. It was tough on him to leave uk and you were kind of the guy that kind of took over that, and I didn't have to talk about it, so. Thanks, Uncle Matt. What are we gonna do about the pool parties? Who's stepping up? We got to keep these going. Yeah, you got. You still gonna have the football players at your house? Three years in a row, we've had the pool party at my house. Ty Bryant still here, so maybe Ty guys over. Yeah. All right. One person writes, Matt, when you replaced Big Easy with Ryan, did you know it was gonna work or did you consider other people? Yeah, we. I considered other people. Ryan was the best because he was a goofball. But, yeah, I could say. I mean, we. We had. We had a number of people on. If you were to go back in the archives and you go listen to April of 2020, 2011, to, like, August of 2011, I try out a lot of people. I mean, we had. I had Mike Pratt a lot. I had Mark Krebs, I had Perrin Johnson. I had. I had random Kent Taylor, Jody Dimling, like, random people in Louisville. But there was something about this goofball that made him. That made him stick out. Well, it worked. I think we can both agree that day we sat down, did that first show, I remember when I walked. That was not your first show. You tell that story all the time. That was not your first show. Yeah, Corey Price found it. That's. That's not the first show. That's not the first show. You've been saying for years, your first show was Derby week. And, Bob, that was not your first show. And I didn't want to challenge you, but I knew that wasn't the first show. Yeah, he found it. And when I listened to it, like, that's not the first show. Yeah. And you, by the way, were really bad in that in the. In the first show. Well, somehow it worked. And you asked me to come back the next week, so yay, here I still am. First impressions. Set a low bar, Ryan. That's right. All right, 859-280-2287. Who's next? Pat is up next. Pat, Go ahead, Pat. Oh, yes. Hey. Actually, I was just calling you on something I heard the other day. My podcast listener today, I actually have time to actually call in. Hey, you talk about all the time, how today is the best life to live. Yeah. We're in the best time we can ever be. Yes. And I agree when it comes to medicine, I believe when it comes to everything, this is the best again, it's the best time in human history, and we live in the best country in human history. And while there's many things to change with the best country. Yeah, well, of course you agree with that, because that's what everybody agrees with. But it is also the best time. You know, the average lifespan. Complain about being on social media and all that. Yeah, social media stinks, but social. Well, then you should cut it off. But you're missing my point of what? I appreciate the call. I'm glad you cut it off. Okay, this is very simple. When my grandmother was a child, the average lifespan was like 50. And now it's just like a generation, two generations later, and it's like 80. Right. You used to think about just the percentage of people that died during childbirth for most of human history, just during childbirth. Leave aside everything else. Like the amount of people that died during childbirth was insanely high. We can now live or cure diseases that would have killed you not that long ago. Then you thought, I mean, when my grandmother grew up, she never left Hancock County, Tennessee, until she was like 17 years old. Never left the county. And now you can hit a button and see anywhere in the world if you want to. Now is there. There's a ton of stuff to complain about. And then I'm saying this is. I'm not trying to get all political, but I'm saying this as a white dude, think about every minority, lot worse in the past. So to me, it is not controversial at all that this is the best time in the history of life to live, that this is the best country to live. We are among the 0.0001 of human existence, of luckiness. That's why we should wake up every day and be happy. You know, life's too short not to be happy. Enjoy the moment, man. Enjoy your family and enjoy KSR every day. The Poorest. The poorest people in the United States. The poorest people are wealthier than most of the rest of the world. Yeah. And are infinitely. Have infinitely better lives than many of the rich people hundreds of years ago. In terms of not living in, like, squalor and, like, again, that doesn't mean there are a million things I would change if I could change. But I do also wish that people would recognize how lucky we are just to be here today. We just lived it. What'd we do? We drove to Oregon. Think about back in the day. The trail to get to Oregon. How many people. Yeah. Along the way. A lot. According to video games. Yeah. Disinterest. Pay to forge the river. I mean, look how much times have changed. We had a Jeep Wagoneer. Yeah. So anyway, I. That doesn't mean there's not a million problems, but I do. I do believe this is. And people always get mad at me. Conservatives get mad, and liberals, they're all like, ah, it's the mere. How about this? Think about how much of human history we couldn't even complain about the people in charge. You would be murdered if you claimed about. If you could. If you complained about the people in charge. Now we can do it on the radio, and it's fine. And that's what we're. That's why you just got to be happy. We're happy. We're Americans. You sound very happy. And I'm living in Glasgow, and I'm very happy. You're living in glass. I'm in Glasgow. Yeah. Yeah. He's gonna move here. Who's next? Bob is up next. Bob. Go ahead, Bob. It's not Bob in Jamestown. He's back there. Go ahead, Bob. Bad seats today, Bob. Hey, hey. That's just exactly what I was going to ask you. Why do you treat Bob disrespectful? Like you won't pick up on him or don't. There we go. It's good for Bob's brother to call the show. Wait a minute. Bob. Is this guy. Is this guy related to you? Bob? No. Listen, I don't know him, but he seems like he's a super fan. And I heard a couple of weeks ago you and Shannon was like, well, should we pick up on him? And I knew that, you know, he's. He's your Marianne from Brooklyn. And if you know what I'm talking. I think you just answered your own question. Right. Like, Howard Stern, love Marianne from Brooklyn. I have an affinity for Bob from afar. And so. Yes. No, I mean you. I think you. If you know that dynamic, you just answered your own question. Okay. I just wondered, you know. All right. Appreciate the call. The Nebraska coach, Ryan Matt Rule insinuated that his. The running back, Dao Dow. Dell Dowdell. Is it Dante? Dante Dowdell, the running back from Nebraska who transferred to Kentucky. He insinuated in a press conference yesterday that. That Kentucky basically offered him before he even got in the portal. He said Dante had to leave. I understand. I love Dante, but he didn't enter the portal and find out he knew where to go. I thought that was a direct shot, Drew, at Kentucky. Did you? I. I also thought that I would say to him, should have offered him a little earlier than we did and might. He might have stayed. That's just college football. I mean, all this transfer and stuff. Some guys have made their mind up in week three of the season. They're in. There are no rules anywhere. We have. Nil was supposed to be about putting your face on a T shirt. Now it's here's $5 million to come to campus. It's the wild west. And that's. He's whining about it. But that's a very small example of something that might have been in a gray area. First of all, I bet we did contact him before he got in the portal. If we're being honest. I bet we did. And you know what? We should have People, they don't own these kids. Like, the kids should be able to find out, if I go in the portal, is somebody going to want me? Right. I think that's okay. It's. Again, it's. It's back rules mentality is like, this kid, I own him and you shouldn't be able to talk to him. I just. Ryan think that's ridiculous. You don't think other teams tried to contact Dane or Barry on or Dion Walker during the season? Of course they did. Of course they did. You don't think we contacted Ray Davis and Brock Vande Griff before they enter the portal? Of course. Of course they did. And you know what? That's why I go back to. You know, look at our basketball team with Mark Pope. All of those guys signed nil deals. We went and got all of them. But I don't know about you, Drew. I feel like they play pretty hard. I feel like the jersey still matters to them. I feel like they go out there and give everything they can for Kentucky just because the guys get money. I mean, I don't know if you watched on Christmas night LeBron and Steph were playing basketball against each other. LeBron is worth a billion dollars. Steph is probably worth a half a billion dollars. And those two dudes who are old now were going at it and they wanted to. When you're a competitor, you're still going to compete even if you have money. So it doesn't bother me. And with this complaint, it's kind of an example of what you were saying at the beginning of the show. Different rules for coaches when they leave for a new job. They don't jump blind, leave a job into a coaching portal and hope someone wants them. They already talk to people behind the scenes while they're coaching a team and have something set up before they leave. Yes, players be allowed to have an idea of who's going to want them before they jump blind into the portal. John Calipari was under contract at Kentucky while he was talking to ucla, right? While he was talking to Arkansas. Yeah, right. He did it so much they put a clause in his contract. He couldn't do it. And it's what ended up screwing him. Excuse me, my language. And making him have to go to Arkansas. So I'm fine with it. We'll take a break. Be right back here. Don Franklin, this is Kentucky Sports Radio. Hey, this is Levar Arrington here from up on game and listen, I want to talk to you about something very serious for a minute, all right? Something personal to me and right now something that should be personal to you as well. In our country, the hate is at an all time high and it's like we're going backward. The hate is winning. We can't allow that, all right? It's out of control. So many different people, so many different groups are facing too much hate and it's enough. It's time for it to stop. We need to stop, regroup, change the momentum as a team, because that's what we are. Everyone in this country is on the same team. So let's act like it. And when a team can't get it together, what do you do? You call a timeout. And that's what we need to do. Call a timeout. Against hate. Let's think about what we say and do and when we see hate, when we see someone doing or saying those things we know are wrong and hateful, we need to call it out. Imma call it out. You need to do the same thing. Visit Stand up to all hate.org to help and join me in calling for a timeout against hate by following at what's up with Hate or posting the Blue Square emoji. Well, number one is Arkansas by far. Number two would be Alabama in Rupp or no. Do we. Yeah, we play both. So we play them both. So I would say in Rupp and the number three would be Auburn. Actually I would go Auburn number two because I think they're the best team in the country. And then Alabama three, the all three games in Rupp. I think you throw the Tennessee game in there with that and you're gonna have four of the best atmospheres we've had since COVID in rupp Arena. All four. Even the Florida game, I wish it wasn't 11 in the morning but the other four, those are going to be awesome atmospheres. What about you? Yeah, I mean those four are tough to be just to change up the order. Arkansas is number one. I think Arkansas is everybody's number one. But I'll put Tennessee two and I hope they're still just thinking they're the best thing that's ever played basketball. We can bring them down a notch. I'd honestly be worried a little about the outcome because they are very good. But I'd love to beat that game and what would be a crazy atmosphere, beat Tennessee in that game in a crazy atmosphere. You know Cal couldn't beat Rick Barnes at Tennessee so yeah, let's see if Mark Pope can be Rick Barnes coming into Rupp Arena. So I'm gonna put that we've lost, we've lost a lot to them over the years. Although I think we won the last couple years at home. The Arkansas game is going to be, that's an all timer. I mean that's going to be an all timer. Like when you sit there and you think about like it's sometimes hard to forget, hard to remember what the games are like pregame. But if you're talking about all time hype pregame Kentucky games, just top of my head. Carolina in 2012. Yes. Right. When it was one versus two, the Anthony Davis game, obviously Patino's first time here. Maybe the first UK U of L game for real back in the 80s when Florida came in number one. We camped out for 24 hours. 2003, that Florida game when they came in even the won a few years later with Joe Kim Noah, which we lost. But they were number one in game day. Those were big. What about you? I think, you know, you said the Patino's first game when he played tubby Patino's first game against Cal led at the environment leading up to that game also. This one's going to be right up there, though. I mean, this one's going to be. I think it's at night. It's. There's just so much at stake, like. And then, you know, there's going to be the question of will he get booed? Will he get cheered? What's it going to be? Like A do is over there. So is Z. So is Wagner. Like just the whole thing. It's just going to be. It's going to be wild. I've changed my opinion on the booing since last Saturday. I wasn't there. Maybe some of you were, but a friend texted me that UK fans were booing Aaron Bradshaw every time he touched the ball. And I thought, man, if we're booing Aaron Bradshaw on Ohio State game, Cal and those guys are. Oh, dude, if you're booing here, Bradshaw, you're booing. Yeah, I actually thought he wouldn't get it. Too bad. And then when I heard we're booing Bradshaw even before he started, I don't think playing well. I don't think A do gets booed. I don't think Z gets booed. I hope Wagner does it, but I could see it. But now I definitely think Cal's getting the moment Cal gets introduced at Rupp Arena. Yeah, it's coming. Be ready. It's coming. It's coming. I agree with you. I didn't think that necessarily either, but I think it's coming. Who's next? Dan is up next. Dan, go ahead, Dan. Dan. All right. No, Dan. Who's next? Bill is up next. Bill, go ahead, Bill. Hey, Matt. Go cats. Y'all were talking about marriage earlier. Yes. Something we know a lot about. I met my wife when she was in the eighth grade. Got married at 20 and 19. I hope you were in the eighth grade, too. I hope you were in the 8th grade as well, sir. Or at least nice. No, no, I was nice. Okay. Okay. But we just. We just celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary. Oh, good for you. Well, congratulations. So you, you've been lifelong sweethearts. Yep. Okay, well what, what's the best trait about her? Something positive here. Well, she was, she was very good looking and she is a good cook. Hang on a second. I mean you've been married 50 years. So I'm not trying to give you advice, but let me. Why don't we change that verb from was to is. How about that? Well, well, she, it was. She is. But that's what caught my attention originally. Okay, gotcha. The reason we got married at 20 is her aunt came up and, and told her that we, we'd been together so long we were going to get married. So she, she said she wanted us to get married on her grandparents 50th wedding anniversary. Well, good. Well, congratulations on 50 years. You very lucky man. We'll take a break and be right back. This is Kentucky sports Radio. Welcome back. It is Kentucky Sports Radio here live in Glasgow at Don Franklin. Let's start with you, sir. What's your name? I'm Mark from Berksville. Mark from Burksville. All right, Burksville. Little. Wait a minute. Clinton County. Cumberland. Cumberland County. My bad. Okay, Mark from Burksville. Kevin from Knob Lick. Knob Lick. What county's Knob Lick? Metcalf. Metcalf. All right, so we got met boy Metcalf in Cumberland County. Hard to find that in a contest. Kevin from Bowling Green. Kevin from Bowling Green. All right. Oh, we got some Bowling Green people. Okay. All right, here's the deal. I like to give tickets to people who love Kentucky basketball. So here's a very simple contest I'm sitting here looking at the top 50 single season scoring years in UK history. So this is a play. It's not for their career. It's in an individual year, the most points they've scored. That way, there could be one and dones or et cetera. Now, some of the guys on this list are on here multiple times, so you only say them once. We'll go in order. You say one once, you've said it. If they're on the list, it can't be said again. You say one that's not on the list, you're out. All right, now, who. Who said 2800? You two. So we're gonna go this way. You'll get to go first. All right. I'm just gonna do it by the town, so. Bowling Green. Go. Anthony Davis. Anthony Davis. Is yes on the list? Reed Shepherd. Reed. She not on the list. Wow. You know, you've. You've been watching basketball a long time here. Yeah. Knob lick. Come on. I mean, you could. You had. You couldn't go back. Collab. Before last year, I was just as many threes as he had. I thought he had scored more than that. He did not make the top 50. He was like, 57th. So. All right, but we got to keep moving. What do you got? Kenny Walker. Kenny Walker. Yes. Jamal Mashburn. Jamal Mashburn. Yes. Dan Issel. Dan Issel. Yes. Goodness. So you talk about, you know, get on the radio and you freeze up. See, that's the thing, people. It's a lot harder than you think. We're gonna go. Going once. I'm sorry, guys. Going twice. Your kids are looking at you with such hope. With such hope. Can dad come up with once? One more. Let's go. Travis Ford. To my brain, Travis Ford is a no. So. All right, sir, you're from Burksville. All of Cumberland county is listening. All you got to do is give me one player that scored in the top 50 of the season or top 50 in a season, and you get tickets to UK Florida. What's your guess? Mike Pratt. Mike Pratt is not. So you're back in it. Oh, my gosh. You're back in it. No. Mike Pratt. So it's the two of you again. You get another chance, Bowling Green. You've been given a second life. How about Michael? Kid Gilchrist. Michael Kidd. Gilchrist. Not on the list. Now Burke's fullest. Second time with a chance to win. Come on, you can do this. Kyle Macy. Kyle Macy is not on the list. Here we go. Here we go. Kyle Macy is not on the list. That one surprised me. I would have thought he'd be on it. Not on the single season list. Malik Monk. Malik Monk is on the list. All right, so you now have to match him after the Malik Monk one. What do you got? Malik Monk, by the way, fourth all time in a season. You have mentioned three or four of the top five. Issel is first, Mashburn third. Monk fourth. Isil fifth. Go ahead. Bowling Green wins it. If you don't get this. Burksville. Third time's a charm. Kevin Greeby. Kevin Greeby is on the list. All right. He stays on. He is, by the way, sixth for most points in a single season. Back to you, Bowling Green. This is quite a matchup here right now. All right, go ahead. You know, let's go, dear. And Fox. De'Aaron Fox is not on the list. No, he is on the list. Sorry. De'aaron Fox is on the list. Sorry. 28th. De'Aaron Fox. All right, sir. Tayshawn Prince. Tayshawn Prince is on the list. Now we're starting to get in a rhythm. Well, we're about to break there. Okay, Bowling Green. Okay, going once, going twice. All right, Berksville, this is the third match point you've had. You gotta get it, or else I may just have to give these tickets to charity. Here we go. One player top 50. Going once. Jack Givens. Jack Evans is on the list. And there you go. Well done. Congratulations, sir. Let me give you something that you could have gotten that I think were probably pretty easy. John Wall, Oscar She. You guys. You said Reed Shepherd. But what about Antonio Reeves last year, who's like eighth all time in a thing, and then nobody mentioned. Does anybody know? Daniel's first. Who had the second most points in a season? Jody Meeks is the other one. Jody Meeks would have been second. Well, sir, congratulations. Thank you very much. Cumberland county gets the tickets. Give him a big round of applause. It's a lot harder than it looks to. To get to do this. It looks on. Looks at home like, oh, anyone can get these, Ryan. These are three very knowledgeable fans. It can be very difficult. There is something that is very true, and it's called microphone fright. You see that microphone in front of your face and you freeze up. You freeze up quickly. Who's up next? Alex is up there. Alex. Go ahead, Alex. Hey, Matt. First time, long time. What's up? Two things real quick. Now hang up and listen, first of all, to my good friends. Amber and Campbell are at the remote today. Their first Remote. So I wanted to shout them out real quick. Where's Amber? Hang on just a second. Where's Amber? And hello there. Nice to see you back there. All right, go ahead. Other thing while we're talking behind the scenes is I want to know what happened with the Shade and Sharp saga. Was there ever a plan for him to play with Cal involved in it at all? What actually happened there? And I'll hang up. Great question, Drew. I'll let you take that one. I genuinely don't know Cal's involvement in that. There was a handler that Shane had. I can't think of his name right now, but he just seemed to be bad news. And we all saw what that situation was. He took advantage of that spot on the bench and got drafted. But the question about California, how much he knew or was complicit. I don't know anything about what Cal. Yeah, I think a role in that. I. What I would say is I think when he came here, all intentions were to play. Then the injury happened. Then I think at some point the decision was made by Shane Sharp's people not to play. I think Cal was left in the dark on that decision until about mid February. And at that point he knew, but decided to protect the kid and kind of keep it where it was. So. But I think. I think both parties intended for him to play. And then I think the decision was made not to play. But. But Cal was still led to believe he would play up until the last few weeks of the year. Cow's PR on that is where he messed up. He really screwed up. Dangling him to the fan base even when he had a pretty good idea. It became clear we all remember to get there early. You can see shading. That was a mistake. The way he said it was kind of condescending. I think he handled it poorly with the fan base. I think you're dead on. I think the intent for him when he came here was to play. But I think that injury kind of spooked his people, his handlers, and didn't want to risk further injury, which would hurt his NBA stock potential. Let's do our Draft Kings segment. You go to DraftKings. You can use promo code. KSR bet 5 win 150. There are five bowl games. We're going to go through them quickly today. The Army Forces Bowl. Oklahoma, Navy. Who you got? Oklahoma. Good game. I think it's no spread. I'm taking Navy. Yep. It's a. Pick them. Yeah, pick them. I'm taking Oklahoma. Too much town. The Birmingham Bowl Georgia Tech and Vanderbilt last night they had a pep rally and they had a rap contest between Georgia Tech and Vandy. And if you go look at the video, Vandy should not be rapping. Georgia Tech ended up taking that one pretty well. I think they do the same in the game. I'll pick Georgia Tech. Nerds versus nerds. In this one. I'm going the nerds from Vandy. What? Nerds versus Nerds. Yeah. All right. Vandy's too excited. They're getting their quarterback for his 13th year in college football. Next year he's playing. They don't need to wrap their winning coverage. These two teams have not played each other in 15 years and used to be rivals in the Liberty Bowl. Arkansas and Texas Tech, they used to have kind of a heated rivalry. Haven't played. They play in the Liberty Bowl. Who you got? Man, I know nothing about Texas Tech, so I'll take Arkansas. I have no idea. Arkansas's entire offensive line just got up in the left. So all of them. I don't know who's going to be blocking for that. I'll take Texas Tech. I'm going to take Texas Tech to. Arkansas lost more players than any team in Division one football to the portal and they're not playing. So I'll take Texas Tech. Syracuse in Washington State in the Holiday bowl. Who you got? Ah. Let's go, let's go. The cues. Syracuse, Washington State. I'm rooting for Washington State and Oregon State forever after the Pac 12. I'm going to take Syracuse. Syracuse, by the way, is an 18 point favor favorite in this game. Just for the record. And finally, too many in the SRS distribution Las Vegas Bowl. I have no idea what that means. USC and Texas A M. You know, early in the season there were some projections we could have been in this game that didn't pan out. I will still side with the SEC though. I think Texas A M had higher aspirations. They thought they're going to get in the playoffs. And so sometimes you get. You don't make you get butt hurt. So I'm going with usc. That's a really good. This is the kind of game where A and M's better. But you do have to ask yourself, do you want to be there or not? But USC's had a lot of dudes leave, sort of like. Like Arkansas. We took one of them actually from them. So I'll take A and M. We're going to take a break and come back right after this. This is Kentucky Sports Radio. Everyone in this country is on the same team, so let's act like it. And when a team can't get it together, what do you do? You call a timeout. And that's what we need to do. Call a timeout against hate. Let's think about what we say and do. And when we see hate, when we see someone doing or saying those things we know are wrong and hateful, we need to call it out. Imma call it out. You need to do the same thing. Visit Stand up to all hate.org to help and join me and calling for a timeout against hate by following at what's up with Hate or posting the Blue Square emoji. This is Jenny Garth from 9021 OMG. One person writes, I would like to know from Drew because I feel like Drew goes out and gets the real stories. What is the best story he hasn't told behind the scenes of UK players or coaches? I haven't really thought about that one yet. I think your best story, and we've mentioned it before, but I think your best story was your ability to break the Matt Rowart being quarterback of the Tennessee game. I mean that was, that was some hot that was basically Drew at his going to bars. Best. I had to really go into some places to get that information. That's one way to put it. Yeah, that's one way to put it. That one's by far my best scoop. Especially since no one, no one believed me was what made that I I was very uncomfortable, even though I knew I was right. When everyone else is telling you you're wrong. There's still a very uneasy feeling there. And that whole day until he came out as quarterback was. Was pretty nerve wracking. But that was my one. No one knew that Matt Roark was going to be. You used to get pretty good scoop from the. In your bar days from the Todd Lanter, Sam Malone crowd because that, because you would be at the same bars they would. Right. So you used to get some. The walk on scoop was pretty good for you then. Yeah. With this last basketball coaching staff as I'd mentioned it that you. I would get scoop at Tin Roof 10 years ago and move to Jeff Ruby's with the. The last basketball assistant. Yeah. Well let's, let's go to that one person writes I think it's hilarious how much Drew hates Jen Coleman. I would like to know why he hates Chin Coleman so much. I know he just wants to burst out and tell a Chin Coleman story. It's not a hatred. I got nothing against the guy but when you're paid I think we can all agree Kentucky basketball we want the best of the best on our coaching staff. Is that crazy to want. I think that's very fair. I just, I don't even think he was in the conversation of the average of the coaches and I don't think he was giving good effort. And as a fan who knew a few things of him not giving his best effort, I didn't enjoy that him personally, whatever. Good luck. Have a great life. But I did not think he was doing his best for Kentucky basketball. Have we told the. Just remind me because I can't remember what I say and what I don't as I get older. Have we told the story about the shooting equipment? We. Have you mentioned it. I don't know if you did on KSR or a pregame show, but you mentioned it one time. It's not the shoe, it's the synergy. It's like a. Yeah. So you all. You saw the thing. You may have seen it when Arkansas played. They showed it. They have this thing in the practice facility where they can shoot threes and, and, and like they, they, they take a mirror, they take a map of every shot taken in the practice facility and it'll show are you shooting it on the correct arc. Like it'll and it'll basically show how good a shooter you are. And like for the scientifically minded players they can go in there and shoot and they can find are we putting the right arc on it? All that stuff. It's very, it's very analytically Based it was brought in during the Cal era. Mark Pope, as I understand, uses it like, he goes over the numbers with the players. When they bought that, the university bought it. And there came a time that it needed an update. And when the people came to come and fix it, they found out that two of our four coaches on staff had never once even logged into the machine at any point. And that was really the moment where I said, these dudes are mailing it in. Because if you. If the whole point of this is to tell you how to make your players better. And two of the four, I mean, had never logged in, like, still had the original password that they had never, like, had never logged in. Ryan, that's when I kind of knew this ain't going to work. Yeah, you just mentioned Coach Pope. He probably logs in every single day. These guys were there for years and didn't log in one time. And a piece of equipment that could help you, you as a coach, do your job. And I thought it was fascinating. If you watched when Arkansas played earlier this year, they did a little promo. I don't know if anybody saw it, about the system. And they talked about what they did and how important it was. And I was just sitting there cracking up, Drew, because I was like, they're sitting here acting like Arkansas does this the whole time. They don't even. I see the coaches on the staff, they don't even log into the thing. I said this at the time. You know, I was as ready for Cal to go as anyone. But part of it, to me is sad that he trusted some assistance that, at least from my perspective of what I believe I heard, we're not doing even half of what they needed to do it. And I think Cal's legacy has come down a little bit because of some people he trusted and shouldn't have trusted. I mean, you'll go back and you'll say the change, the two major factors in the change. One was Covid, and one was the loss of the combination of Robic, kidney pain and Peavey. The combination of the loss of those three and then Covid, I think, is ultimately what turned that for the negative. Somebody asked me to ask you a question behind the scenes. What do you mean? Somebody asked here in our audience? All right, key. Can you elaborate what really happened between Cal and Robick? Yeah, I mean, we've talked a lot about that. I think Robick had some. Had some personal things that happened with him, and it led to a fallout. But I also think, you know, you remember we were talking about Stoops and Vince earlier and I said they were really good friends though, and at times they can butt heads. I think that was part of it too. But if you ask me, the one person that Cal missed the most, it was John Robick. Like if you were to sit and look at John Calipari as a coach and a person, he does like 80% of the job. Great Drew. And then there was 20% that like every person, he needed help. And Robick was the perfect complementary piece because Robick's 20% was exactly what Cal didn't do well. And when he lost that, that then became like an obvious problem that he really never got fixed. Yep. And they replaced that spot with a guy who thought putting a blue shovel and construction vest in a kid's hand and saying we're going to work is how you recruit the number one player. That didn't end up working out very well. Hey, Glasgow. Thank you all very much. This is an absolutely great crowd. You know, when this show started, when the show started, I was pretty sick and I actually think the energy of it. Ryan, I'm now have a lot. How about this guy? He toughed it out for the whole show today. Almost like you guys were like flu medicine or something for me. All right, so this is the last weekend Kentucky has off until. Until through March Madness. Hopefully. It's our last weekend off until April. Everybody enjoy it. I'm going to the Bengals game tomorrow. Who day? Who day they play? The Broncos. I haven't been to a Bengals game in 15 years, to the actual game. So I will be there tomorrow even though I think it's going to rain. Thank you guys very much. We appreciate it. Everybody enjoy your weekend. Come to KS Bar, play the bowl challenge thing and we'll see you later. This has been Kentucky Sports Radio. Hey, what's up everybody? It's Lavar Arrington here from up on game and I need you to listen for a moment, all right. And get serious. The hate in this country is getting out of control. Troll. It's at an all time high. We need to take a timeout against hate. Visit Stand up to all hate.org to help and join me in calling for a timeout against hate by following at what's up with hate or posting the blue square emoji.
