Welcome back hour number two Kentucky Sports Radio 859-280-2287 text machine 772-774-5254 we got we are here in Kearney, Nebraska of folks four folks made the trip will be in tonight in Fort Collins, Colorado to watch the game. Mario years going to come on here before the show is over and announce where it's going to be tonight. I hope he knows he has an hour left to pick the spot and not disappoint everyone in Fort Collins who wants to come watch the cats tonight.
Max
Pressure's on Mario. He's he's been scoping it out. I believe in him. He's getting a good spot.
Mario
No pressure but there is a place that's run by an Australian called Waltzing Kangaroo that don't you're making the decision.
Matt Jones
We have to stop getting into other people's decisions here. Stop trying to implement decision. Mario, you can pick it. You don't have to waltz with a kangaroo if you don't want to. Don't let the Aussie get in the way of everything. One person writes. Matt, what are the discussions in the car on the trip? That's a good question. There are not a lot of discussions, right?
Shannon
There were a couple discussions.
Matt Jones
Those are phone calls. Those are phone calls.
Levar Arrington
Those are long phone calls.
Matt Jones
But amongst the people of the group, no.
Shannon
You know I sit up front by you. We discussed you know, Biden's son every once in a while. Yeah.
Matt Jones
Well, we all decided whether or not we would pardon their sons. You were pretty adamant that. Well, pretty much. It was six zero. Everyone said they would pardon their son except you. You said you would pardon your son depending on what he did.
Shannon
That's right. If he did. Well, as you guys know, I have a son that's in jail. He did something pretty bad. I wouldn't pardon him. He deserves to be punished. So if they did something bad.
Matt Jones
So we spent like 30 minutes going, what would you pardon for? What wouldn't you?
Shannon
Yeah.
Matt Jones
And basically Ryan would pardon for anything that doesn't hurt anybody. Is that kind of how you are?
Shannon
True. Yes. Yeah. So Hunter's federal tax evasion. I probably would. If it was my son, I probably would pardon him.
Matt Jones
Yeah. But I think a lot of people, like, when I heard it, I was like, joe, you shouldn't have done that. And I still kind of lean that way. But at the same time, if it was your kid.
Shannon
Yeah.
Matt Jones
And they were sitting there looking at prison.
Shannon
That's right.
Matt Jones
You know, but you, but you. I think you made a good distinction between, like, what kind of crime.
Shannon
Yeah. If it's a violent crime or something, you absolutely deserve to be punished.
Matt Jones
Yeah. 802287 so let's talk about the game tonight. You feel good about us winning at Clemson?
Eli
I do. Especially now because as I said, it's all atmosphere for me. I think Kentucky's the better team. And just seeing that there's tickets available for what they are, makes me question how good it'll be. You know, Kentucky hasn't been in a true road environment, but they played Duke in a pretty rowdy Atlanta. I know a lot of that crowd was for them. So they've played away from Rut before. I think we'll be okay. But I do expect them to drop one of the two this week. So it's not like I'm just guaranteeing anything, but I feel pretty good about this.
Matt Jones
It'd be awesome to win this week, Shannon. And then if we lose, then we could go into the Gonzaga. It's almost a no lose situation.
Max
That's right.
Matt Jones
Like you're playing and if you want to win, but if you don't, it doesn't hurt you too much.
Max
Yeah. Not going to hurt at all when it comes time for March. If anything, it gets you ready for March. So, I mean, if you say, though, you got to drop one of the two games, I'd rather drop tonight and win in Seattle. I don't want to drive all the way out to Seattle to watch a loss and drive back or fly back. So.
Matt Jones
Yeah, I mean, that's actually another good point. If you tell me we're going one and one. The NCAA has shown over the years they give you more credit in the tournament for good wins than bad losses or than harm for bad losses. So you would want to beat Gonzaga and lose to Clemson?
Shannon
I think that would be my pick. You beat Gonzaga, one of the top five teams in the country. It's going to help you at the end of the season. Yeah. When seasons come out.
Matt Jones
You were telling me that since you got to Kentucky, Max, you really haven't had a basketball team since you've been here. That kind of got everybody into it because you came. You were not here for 2017 team. You were here in 18. So basically, you saw the 18, 19 team. You basically lived through the worst of it. Do you. Are you. Are you excited about this group? Absolutely.
Mario
Can't fall out of a basement window, so the only way is up. We're gonna. I'm really looking forward to this Mark Pope coach team. I've actually enjoyed it. Watched the Duke game. I didn't get to watch last Fridays because I was coaching, but looking forward to these two games to see where we're at. I think, obviously, Ronnie really played the one difficult game so far, and we managed to come out on top. Although I wouldn't. I'd say we maybe didn't look better than them. We just kind of had a few things go our way. So I'm looking forward to these two games to see exactly where we're at.
Matt Jones
Let's talk about a couple of college basketball developments. Is Danny Hurley the biggest whiner you've ever seen?
Shannon
He's definitely pole vaulted way up that list. And just think, man, what if he'd been here? We'd stuck with that guy.
Matt Jones
Yeah, but we would have defended him. I mean, that's the thing. One of the things you find is the older I get, the more I think this is true. In life, everything's relevant. Like, if he was here, we'd find a way to say it's okay. We'd be. We'd be like, I shouldn't do it, but Bobby, to be.
Max
Look at the passion our coach has.
Matt Jones
But being objective, neutral, because he's not here.
Max
He looks like a madman.
Matt Jones
Looks like a madman. You're in Maui, dude.
Eli
Yeah, we know we have Bahamas. Matt, where's Maui Dan? Out there. We also. I think it's Good. We have college basketball has a good villain again. The world united around them. That's true in Miami or Maui. And we were celebrating it. In addition to the clips of his losing, losing his mind on the ref, I just. We have a bad guy in college basketball.
Matt Jones
Maybe he was always like that. Shannon and I just, you know, it's weird with the teams in the Big East. Their games are not on espn, so you don't see them a lot. Like, it's easy to kind of forget them. And then you get in the tournament and the last two tournaments. I'm going to be honest with you, I've paid less attention to the last two NCAA tournaments than any because of just the way Kentucky was. So maybe I've just kind of missed. And he was a jerk all the time. But it does feel like that was obscene. Levels of jerk.
Max
Back to back games, too. You just won national titles back to back. You were in Maui. Well, how could life be so bad that you would be that angry about anything?
Matt Jones
I mean, the video, in some ways, the video of his coach holding back was worse than the one even before because it just showed how out of control he was.
Mario
He looked like an insane man. Like, it was. I mean, he's always been that kind of confident, loud guy, but it's just gone to a whole nother level. Now he's got two national champions and.
Matt Jones
They lost to what, Colorado, Memphis and Dayton. It's not like they lost to great teams.
Shannon
Maybe that's why they were winning all the games. Last couple years, we didn't get to see him lose his stuff.
Matt Jones
Now he also said after it was over, he went.03 in the Maui tournament. And he said, I'll never come back to one of these tournaments. He kind of, that's, you know, that was Cal's position. He said, I'll never come back. Then Matt Norlander did a story that basically said these tournaments are in trouble, including Maui. That teams are just like, why should we travel somewhere and pay all this money to go when we can host games at home or play on neutral sites. They basically, Matt Norlander's point was that the tournaments like Duke played in with Kansas and that those kind of things are going to be the future where they play like two games in a place and it's not even really a tournament.
Max
Kind of like our Big Blue Invitational.
Matt Jones
Yeah, but even that's like just at home. He thinks the future is you go to, you know, wherever you go, to Vegas or whatever. You play two games, one of which is against a really Good team. One of which is against a mid major. And that's your tournament.
Eli
Yeah, there's already been a lot of those this year. I think there'll be more. Yesterday, talking to our guy at Iowa, Iowa did one of those we saw. I guess this wasn't a two game, but like Arkansas played Illinois and wherever that was, Kansas City or whatever it was. I think we'll see a lot more of those around the hall.
Matt Jones
That's a shame because I think the Maui Invitational is really good for college basketball. I mean, like, because of Dan Hurley and all that. Everyone was talking about it. Right. I mean, like, it was. It kind of put college basketball on the map a little bit at a time where it's very hard with all that's going on for people to pay attention to it.
Shannon
For what, 40 years, the Maui Invitational has been something that basketball fans can look forward to and watch all.
Matt Jones
And it's a perfect time. It's that Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday before Thanksgiving where people are only kind of working. It's like the perfect time for it to be on.
Eli
It's the perfect time of day because you get those late games or normally you don't have a good basketball game on. You can be in bed, you know, watching Auburn play North Carolina past midnight.
Matt Jones
Yeah. So I would hate to see that. Hate to see that happen. But that may be the future. You know, Pope has said he would play in it. The next time we can play in it is 2028. The field is. The field is set for 26 and 27. So we could play it in 2028. I've been told when it comes to UK basketball schedule that this is kind of the future. All right, you're going to play Louisville, obviously, every year you're going to play in the ACC SEC Challenge, which will be every year you're going to play in the Champions Classic. So those are the three you can kind of lay in. I think the CBS Classic goes away. I think there's two more years. I think we play this year and then maybe next year we play UCLA in it or whatever. And then I think it goes away. I don't think they renew that again. And then there are two years left in the Gonzaga series after this. Well, Kentucky plays in Nashville next year, that game will happen, but then I think the two games after that will get canceled. So I think we will play Gonzaga this year and then we'll play Nashville. I think they're going to recreate UK Indiana, and then I think they're going to have Kentucky play One other somebody either in a neutral site game or a home and home. And so that basically every year you get Champions Classic, Louisville, ACC game, Indiana and someone else. And that's your. That's your schedule. Do you like that as a schedule of non conference?
Eli
I think so. I'm really glad the CBS Classic is going away. Last year in Atlanta, uk, North Carolina, that was like a tournament game. But everyone before that, the crowd sucked. The game sucked. Feel like we lost games we shouldn't have. Get it out here. Indiana, that starts next year. That's on the schedule. We got four years of Kentucky Indiana coming back. So I know me and Ryan kind of grew up a part of that. We're both looking forward to that one coming back.
Shannon
I'm glad they're. That Pope wants to keep that too. You know, he was here when they're still there playing Indiana and they got some big, those big rivalry games now.
Eli
Yeah, they got to get better.
Matt Jones
I mean they don't like I don't want to play. That's not a game. Like, you know, we've had this conversation many times over the years, but to me it's like they're not. They stink.
Shannon
Yeah.
Max
And we were right saying Cal would never go back to Assembly Hall.
Matt Jones
Yeah, that's right.
Max
We called that years ago.
Matt Jones
No, I mean he wasn't going to go back to assembly hall and. But now I think you can go with where we are now.
Eli
Well, when he scheduled it because Cal's the one that I think. Yeah, this was booked with Cal four years. Assembly hall is the fourth stop. We just assumed he was going to get out of it before the fourth one. It's Rupp and like Lucas Oil, then another neutral and then assembly hall is the very last one.
Max
But I like that schedule. I think maybe mix in a few more in state teams, which I think Pope would probably do. You know, for the small schools that we play.
Matt Jones
Well, I like the ACC Challenge because it sends you to arenas that you wouldn't normally go to and you're going to get teams in RUP that you wouldn't normally go to. The good thing is if we can get the CBS Classic over, then I think we'll play North Carolina a lot in that ACC Challenge. The problem is I don't know if we're ever going to get to play Duke in it because of the Champions Classic because of the way that the schedule works. So that'll at least give you North Carolina. So we're not always playing Clemson in Miami. Who's who. We've played the last couple years.
Eli
Yeah. Hopefully we'll get a Cameron indoor trip. One of the years you're playing Kansas or Michigan State. Maybe you just played Duke the year before. Then you can rotate him for two years, then play in the Champions Classic. Get something going there because I Cameron indoor for Kentucky game is very high on my college basketball bucket list.
Matt Jones
Yeah, I'd love to see a Kentucky game there. I've seen many games there, but obviously not the Cats. Max, the Emirates NBA cup is here.
Mario
It certainly is.
Matt Jones
The DraftKings sportsbook is your betting partner of the NBA. They have a game tonight.

I'm just not going to read it at this moment. Go ahead.
Shannon
I like Kentucky to win tonight. I mean, Clemson is not the Clemson of last year.
Matt Jones
So.
Shannon
Yeah, I like Kentucky.
Matt Jones
You like Kentucky?
Max
Yep. And the two points to go along with it.
Mario
Kentucky.
Matt Jones
Yeah.
Eli
Yeah, we got some props too.
Matt Jones
Well, give me one.
Eli
How about Ortega o way over 16 points. That seems a little high, but that's the first one I read. Lamont Butler, 12 points. Any of those? Andrew Car.

Congratulations to CBS Sports and Sony Electronics for their first place wins for innovation in industry at this year's unconventional awards by T Mobile for Business. In a collaboration that was clearly built on breaking new ground, CBS and Sony created a first of its kind broadcast for the PGA Championship using a custom built T Mobile private 5G network to power the live production. They deployed a 5G wireless camera system throughout the event. The network's speed combined with Sony's innovative ultra low latency video codec allowed for seamless, high quality footage without disruption. With that innovative approach, CBS gave broadcasters the tools they need to do what they do best. Take their coverage to entirely new places. These innovations will shape the way live sports are covered moving forward. And for that, T Mobile congratulates Sony and CBS for their unconventional thinking.

Levar Arrington
Hey, this is Levar Arrington here from up on Game and listen, I want to talk to you about something very serious for a minute, all right? Something personal to me and right now something that should be personal to you as well. In our country, the hate is at an all time high and it's like we're going backward. The hate is winning. We can't allow that, all right? It's out of control. So many different people, so many different groups are facing too much hate and it's enough. It's time for it to stop. We need to stop, regroup, change the momentum as a team because that's what we are. Everyone in this country is on the same team. So let's act like it. And when a team can't get it together, what do you do? You call a timeout. And that's what we need to do. Call a timeout against hate. Let's think about what we say and do. And when we see hate, when we see someone doing or saying those things we know are wrong and hateful, we need to call it out. Imma call it out. You need to do the same thing. Visit standuptoallhate.org to help and join me and calling for a timeout against hate by following at what's up with hate or posting the blue square emoji.

Yeah. Good gift giving ideas right there for sure.
Matt Jones
Let me read this. One person writes and says, my question is for Ryan. I worry about him. Does he know he's getting older and that some of the things he takes for granted for his health may not always be there? Can he make sure to stay healthy for those of us that love him?
Shannon
Very sweet for my mom to write in. Say that, you know, I had a salad at Pizza Ranch.
Matt Jones
But you also had pizza.
Shannon
I had one piece of pizza.
Mario
Rose it out.
Max
One.
Mario
Was it out?
Max
Wow, that's good.
Shannon
I had a salmon skewer with a rice.
Eli
Go back to Pizza Ranch. But did you try the fried chicken?
Shannon
I had one piece fried chicken.
Matt Jones
Okay. So you can't just say you can't say I had a salad. Like that cancels out everything else you eat. I mean, what kind of dressing did you put on the salad?
Shannon
Thousand Island.
Matt Jones
Okay. That's worse.
Max
That's not healthy than the pizza.
Shannon
A lot of it.
Matt Jones
So your lunch. Not dinner.
Shannon
Lunch.
Matt Jones
Lunch was a salad drenched in Thousand island dressing.
Shannon
Yes.
Matt Jones
A slice of pizza, one piece of pizza, a thing of fried chicken, one chicken leg. And did you get a breadstick?
Shannon
Nope.
Max
That's all you ate?
Shannon
That was it? Yeah. Wow. Good.
Matt Jones
Okay.
Max
That's not bad.
Eli
Did you take two trips to the line?
Shannon
No, that was it.
Max
I ate way more than that.
Shannon
A salmon skewer and rice last night.
Matt Jones
It so are you trying to be healthy this trip?
Shannon
I was trying to eat kind of smart.
Max
What about that big margarita?
Shannon
I did have a margarita.
Max
Jumbo margarita.
Eli
Family and tradition.
Matt Jones
Yeah. So, I mean, I don't know that that was a weight loss day.
Shannon
Yeah. Today at Penny's, I'm a little worried about. I'm gonna have to get something fried and greasy.
Matt Jones
We don't have to.
Max
You get a salad if they have.
Matt Jones
You're not getting a salad.
Shannon
I gotta get a greasy cheeseburger.
Matt Jones
Thank you. So now we're right back to where we were. To where we were a minute ago. Who's up next? Mark Anthony. Mark Anthony, how are you? 859-280-2287.
Mark Anthony
Good morning, Mario. Good morning, Max.
Matt Jones
And Mario's not on the radio, but Max is here. Go ahead.
Mario
Morning.
Mark Anthony
Yeah, you know, anyway, Matt, I listened to you and Mint yesterday and it was low energy, but I say you could put that off to the fact that the past 24 hours had probably been spent some pretty intense discussion. And what I heard him say was, we've made a gross miscalculation in recruiting talent without as much regard to character as we need to get.
Matt Jones
Well, he certainly said that. I mean, I thought that was a pretty big mission to say. I mean, when you go, we recruit people and we need to do better with the character. That shows that. I mean, by implication, Marc Anthony, that that's not what they were doing before.
Mark Anthony
Well, and I think that he. They intend. Or Mark Stoops intends to turn that around and go for character. And once that's been evaluated, then we'll look at the test. So what that means is we're going to end up with three star guys. We're not going to get.
Matt Jones
That's not necessarily going to get. I don't think that's true. Why do you think that? Everybody that's. I mean, there are teams full of guys that win that don't get in trouble all over college football. Why can't. There are those guys?
Mark Anthony
They used to be at Alabama and Georgia and they're not there so much anymore.
Matt Jones
Because there are those guys. I mean, there are those guys. Why do you assume that there's not a guy like. Let me. I mean, just think about all the guys over the years that we've had that were our best players. Randall Cobb, Chris Rodriguez, Benny Snell. Like, those dudes were good guys. Think of all the guys on defense. We've had a couple guys with some character issues, but most of them were good guys. Max, when you played most of that team, was good dudes, right? Absolutely.
Mario
Yeah. I mean, probably 99.9% of it.
Matt Jones
The guys on the offensive line that were the big blue wall. I think pretty much every one of those dudes. Mark Anthony was a high character guy.
Mark Anthony
So why can't you go get those character, Matt. High character.
Matt Jones
But, but they also were talented. They played in the NFL.
Mark Anthony
Six of them. But what I'm saying is we get three star gas. But that's Stoop specialty anyhow. It always was. Development was always.
Matt Jones
There is some truth to that. There's some truth to that.
Mark Anthony
Yeah. And so, you know, it's, it's just not going to look like, I think that Stoops, he had seen himself as having reached the threshold of the Alabamas and the Georgias where you just get top five star talent and go to town. And even Alabama and Georgia ain't doing that now.
Matt Jones
No, you're right. I mean he, there was no doubt that the arrogance. I appreciate the call. Arrogance had creeped into that facility. I think certainly amongst the players, even some coaches, I think they got, they became, you know. Well, I think they become, became complacent. So now let's talk about what happens over the next few days with, with UK football. Let's just go around the room. Hard questions.
Mario
You're going to call us chicken. If we don't answer, I'm going to yell at you.
Matt Jones
Chicken.
Eli
We know he's not going to press us to you.
Matt Jones
Do you expect Brad White to be next year? You know, the job we all thought he might get is gone.
Eli
So I haven't followed it closely enough to know what options are still out there. But I did. I was somewhat expecting him to be in that Florida State spot that's already been filled. So I'm going to lean.
Matt Jones
Yes.
Eli
Only because I don't know his options right now because I was kind of watching that one thinking that was it.
Matt Jones
So yes.
Mario
Olean, yes. Because I thought if he would have a place, he'd probably be already out the door by now. Although the only issue for me is.
Matt Jones
We got to go quicker. We're not going to get through this. Yes. All right.
Max
Yes.
Shannon
Yeah. I don't think the jobs are there right now.
Matt Jones
I'm gonna say no. Do you think Vince Merrill will be here next year?
Eli
I'll say yes, but yesterday hurt my confidence level on that.
Matt Jones
Yes.
Mario
I'll answer it like him. I'll just pause for a long time.
Matt Jones
I was wondering what you were doing as well, Shannon.
Max
I say he will be here. Stoops will do everything he can to keep him here.
Matt Jones
So yes, Ryan?
Shannon
Yeah, he's here.
Matt Jones
All right. I'm gonna say yes. Percentage chance.
Mario
Oh, yeah.
Matt Jones
Mark Stoops still ends up not here.
Max
Wait, not here. Leaves. In other words, percentage chance.
Eli
He leaves at this point, 10. It's just. It's looking like it's. It's running it back.
Mario
Zero. I mean, well, maybe one in case he dies, but kill him off?
Matt Jones
I mean, to quote very depressing and dark.
Mario
You never know. You don't want to make assumptions.
Matt Jones
Max, that was all for all day today.
Max
To quote Mark stoops himself, 0%. I'm gonna go 0.
Shannon
5.
Matt Jones
I'm gonna go 10. I think anything could happen. You know, Cal and Mitch did an interview and two days later he was nothing.
Max
Zero. I mean, nothing really is zero ever.
Matt Jones
Nothing is a one in the world. How many coaching changes at the assistant coach positions, player, like, you know, positions.
Eli
Trying to run through some of my head. The thing is, I have some I think should be done, but just the way he talks, I don't know if it's going to happen. I'll say three.
Matt Jones
That's a lot though. Okay.
Mario
The way he's talking. Wolford's back, so I'm going to say yeah, two or three. I think there'll be a few more on defense than we normally say.
Max
I'm going to go two. But the one that needs to be changed isn't going to get changed. That's the offensive line. So I'll say two.
Shannon
I'm just gonna say one.
Matt Jones
I'm gonna say two. And I do think Wolford comes back, which is unfortunate, I think, in terms for the fan base, which gets me to the debate that was held online. There's a lot of people online that like to claim to speak for the entire fan base. Percentage of the fan base that you think would like to see a change next year.
Eli
Think about Twitter. I'm going high, though. I've 70.
Matt Jones
Okay.
Mario
As in. As in stoops out. What the fans would like. Yeah, I think it's probably 70. 75. Yeah.
Max
I mean, if you read Twitter, but Twitter is not real life. I think overall probably it's closer to 55.
Shannon
I go say 60.
Max
Yeah.
Matt Jones
I put it up on the bond that bridge page and I asked people to look. I asked people to comment. I looked last night. It was about 60. Would like a change, which I think is probably more representative than Twitter, but also. But who knows if it's completely represented. But that was that. That's about 60 younger fans. It's very high. Older fans tend, I think to be more patient.
Max
They remember how we were before.
Matt Jones
So I think it just depends on which age of people you're talking. Are you here to watch the show? Number five. All right, we'll take a break. Be right back. This ksr welcome back. It is Kentucky sports radio here live in Kearney, Nebraska. The local sports director here for the radio station in Kearney just had somebody tell us we were coming through and came by to say hello. I'm not going to hold against him that he's wearing a Wisconsin sweatshirt. Do you not remember the 2015 game? Like what, you know, watch your step. But besides that, that's very nice. He said he wanted to come say hello. Not even a Kentucky fan, Right?
Shannon
Very cool that he, you know, he's the, he's the voice of the local high school team. I think he said here. So yeah. When to come and check out what was.
Matt Jones
Cunningham's a good pick for us last night. Very good. Well, we enjoyed it. And I also like margaritas. They got family and tradition. Family and tradition. That's a good combination. We have some breaking news. Rick. Yeah. Wow. Rick. Coming through. There you go. De Shorts, the wide receivers coach at Kentucky is leaving to go to Nebraska.
Max
Right. We're here. Come on, we're waiting for you.
Matt Jones
You know, you would know more about him than anyone. So big loss. Not a big loss. What do you think?
Shannon
Well, we just did the predictions. He's the one coach I thought would probably definitely be gone.
Matt Jones
Well, you were right. Yeah.
Max
Is that all you got?
Matt Jones
I need some more from that.
Shannon
I don't.
Matt Jones
I mean he's gone now so he's not going to get mad at you.
Eli
Yeah.
Max
What Dane say about him?
Shannon
I don't know. I just know I don't think there was a good connection between him and the receivers. Maybe that's the best way to put it.
Matt Jones
Oh, well, that's a problem.
Max
You want a connection between your coaches.
Matt Jones
And receivers with his players.
Shannon
You know, I think there were some guys really unhappy. I think Macklin was really unhappy this year. I think Barrion was unhappy this year. You know, Dane was probably unhappy this year.
Matt Jones
So they weren't happy.
Shannon
They weren't happy.
Matt Jones
Well, then maybe it's good. Although we, we change wide receiver coaches, you know, like we change socks. It feels like that's my takeaway.
Eli
We talk about the OC changes all the time but the wide receiver office, that flips about every year too. I think I just saw Luck at Tweet. It was seven and 13 years. He was seventh broad receivers coach wow.
Matt Jones
We had the dude with the big personality. What was his name? Oh, Lamar Thomas. We had the guy on the toilet. We had the Scott rid of Woody.
Eli
Just got rid of Scott Woodward.
Matt Jones
What are you laughing about?
Eli
No, you know what I'm laughing.
Shannon
We all know what you're laughing about.
Matt Jones
We had boo night or bow night. Bow night. We had Scott Woodward. Now we have this guy. Who were the other two? Can you name the other two Soups. Wide receiver coaches. What was Maynard. Maynard.
Eli
Tommy Maynard.
Matt Jones
Oh, that's right. Tommy Maynard was. He was the first one with w. With. With Neil Brown.
Eli
Yeah.
Matt Jones
And what's the other one?
Mario
I think that's all.
Matt Jones
All right, well, that was six.
Eli
He's hiring a seventh.
Matt Jones
Okay, well, I don't know what you got. I don't know what you were laughing about, but I do know what you're laughing about. Why are you laughing? How do I turn this? I'm trying to make it to where they won't. Somehow it got turned where people can't reply to my post. How do I do that? How do I fix that?
Max
What, on Twitter?
Matt Jones
Yeah, I mean, I know how to do it.
Mario
Gotcha. Hey, loan scotch.
Matt Jones
But now, like, they turn them right.
Max
Here where it says everyone can reply.
Matt Jones
I know, but how. But it's like the default is now people can't reply. Right?
Max
I'm like, right. So you need to click it and then you go to. Anybody can apply.
Matt Jones
Never mind. But like, now every time I tweet, I'm gonna have to do that. I don't like anyway. Let's sound like an old man. How do I get to tweet? Like, before we fix my phone.
Shannon
Just wait.
Matt Jones
Just wait.
Shannon
It gets worse.
Matt Jones
Hello, Hannity.
Shannon
Figure out how to turn your TV on. You're calling your kid.
Mario
Hey, Fox News this morning now arguing about Twitter.
Matt Jones
Elon's made it better. I'm kidding. Come on, you all won. You don't have to get mad at me. Who's next? Andrew is up. Andrew. Go ahead, Andrew.
Mark Anthony
Yeah, I just wanted to ask Pat if he thinks that we can keep the punter that we have this season.
Matt Jones
Who? Ask who?
Max
Pat McAfee.
Matt Jones
Oh, no. Oh, Pat. Oh, wow. Oh, he called you, Pat.
Mario
We can block numbers, right? Is that right, Rick? We can send police to his house with an anonymous tip. That would be much appreciated.
Matt Jones
You know, Max is not in his normal jovial mood. I think he was out last night. His hair. He looks like. He looks like he not showered. You did that? This wasn't the day to come at Max, I don't think.
Mario
Yeah, leave me alone, please. Yes, we will keep Aiden Larose.
Matt Jones
Okay.
Mario
I think the Australian will be moving on due to eligibility.
Matt Jones
We will be.
Mario
You talking about who LaRose will stay? Obviously he's got one more year.
Matt Jones
Well, no, that's important news.
Mario
Correct? Very important. He actually.
Matt Jones
Is it worth it? Can we say that like it's up to you?
Mario
Can we say what? You can say whatever you want. It's your show.
Matt Jones
I know, but this is your thing. You were. You were talking.
Eli
Is that news? Are you presenting.
Matt Jones
Are you presenting that as news? Because I don't think he's announced he's going to come back.
Mario
Oh. I mean, I talked to him yesterday. Where else he going to go?
Matt Jones
Okay, well, that's what I was wanting to say. You talked to him in the car yesterday. I just didn't know if you wanted to.
Mario
He could go back to South Africa.
Matt Jones
If he wants to.
Mario
I know lots of people want me to go back to Australia.
Eli
Max is walking around the Casey's gas station. Who you talking to?
Matt Jones
Yeah, I mean, if you watch. Okay, now that we've said it, if you go and watch the video that Mario filmed of my gas station review at qts. I wanted to have Max in it. And he was taking a call from the UK punter talking about coming back to Kentucky. And so he gave us a look like, stop filming me because I'm having a conversation. That's all I'm saying.
Mario
Yeah, I mean, he wasn't talking about leaving. He was just kind of running me through a few scenarios of what he wanted to do and how he could get better and all those kind of things. So he loves it. He was always coming back.
Matt Jones
Max is kind of the coach, the unofficial coach.
Shannon
I thought it was very sweet. The dude called Max for some advice, some fatherly advice yesterday.
Matt Jones
I mean, South Africa and Australia are basically the same place.
Max
So you could you point them out on a map?
Shannon
No, you couldn't.
Eli
Australia.
Matt Jones
I feel like South Africa should be self explanatory. Go to Africa, go to the bottom, you'll be there. Who's next?
Eli
Joke about Matt or Max knowing all these punters, but he really is the punter.
Matt Jones
Whisper everywhere we go, Max. Like, I know the punter here, I know the punter here. You know so many punters.
Mario
I do know the punter in Colorado State. So we could say hello while we're there.
Matt Jones
Good night. You know Boise. Who's next?
Levar Arrington
Binky is next.
Matt Jones
Binky. How are you, Binky? I'm good.
Max
How are you guys doing today?
Matt Jones
Doing amazing.
Max
Yeah. I wanted to touch back on something you were or somebody called in about.
Matt Jones
Who. You know who would be the worst.
Max
One to have dinner with?
Matt Jones
Yes.
Max
My choice would be you.
Shannon
Whoa.
Matt Jones
These are two, actually.
Max
I'm just teasing. I'm just teasing.
Matt Jones
Back to back terrible calls. Ass. Oh, come on now.
Eli
I'm just.
Max
No, I'm just teasing. The. The guy.
Matt Jones
The guy on the espn.
Max
Is it Stephen Sharp? The guy with the.
Matt Jones
Stephen Sharp. I went to school with Stephen Sharp. I think you're saying Stephen A. Smith. You're combining. Yeah, yeah, I'm sorry. Yeah, that's the guy.
Max
Yeah, that's the guy I'm talking about.
Matt Jones
Having the worst dinner with.
Max
I can't stand that guy. He's nothing but a bladder of hot air.
Matt Jones
Well, thank you.
Max
He just goes on and on and on about anything. I was just kidding about that.
Matt Jones
But anyway, I appreciate the call. Sorry, I'm back to work now. You need to call and blast these three guys. If Max and I are gonna get.
Eli
It, I'll go next.
Mario
So what he released earlier this year. If you went to dinner with Shannon Sharp, you could be in some trouble after dinner.
Matt Jones
Very true. That was quite a video as well. Who's next? Ed is up next. Ed, go ahead, Ed.
Mark Anthony
Hey, man. Got two comments. One is, for the first time in 68 years, I couldn't watch the UK global game. It was just too painful.
Matt Jones
So you turned off. You turned off a UK game for the first time in 68 years Saturday?
Mark Anthony
Yes, yes, I did.
Max
I mean, it's been worse and.
Matt Jones
Yeah. Oh, I've seen some good teams and it was kind of pathetic. Yeah, you're understood. I kind of get it, to be honest with you, sir.
Mark Anthony
Yeah. And then the other comment is that these cat daddies are so good. I'm confident of a double digit win as another team gets ready to bite the dust. And we should play a little queen. Every time I say that when I.
Matt Jones
Get on the air.
Mark Anthony
Let's get this rolling. Go Cats.
Matt Jones
Appreciate it. He's calling the basketball team the Cat Daddy.
Shannon
Cat Daddies?
Max
Is that their official name?
Shannon
The Cat Daddies, according to that guy.
Matt Jones
Sounded a little dirty when he said.
Eli
Grown man cat daddy.
Matt Jones
You know what, what he says about he turned the game off. I'll be honest with you, it might be the first game in the Mark Stoops era where I didn't really pay attention to much. After about the second quarter, it was over immediately. I think I focused in when it was 20 to 7 and we got the ball and it looked like we might be able to do something and then we immediately turned it over. But there was. I'm not sure there's been a UK football game, Ryan, in a long time. I paid less attention to than I did that Louisville game.
Shannon
I guess this is our UK confessional. I was at the game and left at halftime.
Max
So did everybody else.
Shannon
Yeah, I could not stick around and watch that.
Matt Jones
It is one of the, it is. Even in the bad joker years or whatever. Like I had no expectations. So it was just kind of part of the experience. I was drank, I was tuned, tuned out of that game against Louisville almost.
Eli
Immediately I was there so I had to be tuned in. But to Ryan's point, at halftime I went into the parking lot to talk to people that were leaving and it was just a flood. Walking out that front gate towards Nicholasville.
Shannon
We all knew it was one after.
Eli
Another, people yelling about stoops and yelling we stink. It was an ugly scene at halftime.
Matt Jones
If you wanted to keep the fan base positive, it couldn't have been a worse result. You're right about that in a lot of ways. Let me tell you something, Max. There's a new report from the Kentucky Chamber about the massive economic impact of housing in Kentucky. Of course, the housing industry not only drives economic growth, but it supports over 105,000 jobs statewide.
Mario
Certainly does.
Matt Jones
And affordable housing remains a critical issue. The report reviews reveals that every home built Kentucky generates an average of 3 full time jobs. But we'd like to hear from you about your perspective. Visit ky chamber.comhousing and tell us about the biggest housing issue in your community. We'll come back our final segment here in Kearney, Nebraska. This is Kentucky Sports Radio on the.

So many different people, so many different groups are facing too much hate. And it's enough. It's time for it to stop. We need to stop, regroup, change the momentum as a team. Because that's what we are. Everyone in this country is on the same team. So let's act like it. And when a team can't get it together, what do you do? You call a timeout. And that's what we need to do. Call a time out against hate. Let's think about what we say and do. And when we see hate, when we see someone doing or saying those things we know are wrong and hateful, we need to call it out. Imma call it out. You need to do the same thing. Visit standuptoallhate.org to help and join me and calling for a timeout against hate by following at what's up with Hate or posting the Blue Square emoji Number.

Max
Cedric. Cedric the Entertainer.
Matt Jones
Cedric the Entertainer.
Eli
I love him. They quoted him.
Max
They got the guy from. Whose line is it anyway? I don't know his name.
Matt Jones
Oh, God, yeah. What their name from the office. The red haired lady that shows her boobs.
Max
It's all the same.
Matt Jones
Meredith. Yes. Right?
Max
Yeah. Yeah.
Matt Jones

Max

Matt Jones
All right, Mario, tonight in Fort Collins.
Eli
Yeah.
Matt Jones
We're going to have a game watch party for all the people of Fort Collins. What are you shaking your head for? It's your turn. You have to pick where it is.
Eli
I know the perfect place.
Matt Jones
This is the perfect place in Fort Collins.
Max
Yeah.
Eli
It's called Grey Rock Sports Grill.
Matt Jones
Grey Rock sports Grill.
Shannon
Okay.
Matt Jones
So those of you in Fort Collins, we're going to be watching the game tonight at the Gray Rock Sports Grill. Come on out. Have you told the Grey Rock sports Grill we're coming? I have not. Okay, that should help.
Eli
We don't want to get there and not have a.
Matt Jones
Do we know they have television?
Eli
42 televisions.
Matt Jones
42.
Max
Whoa.
Matt Jones
All right.
Max
We can get one on the Kentucky.
Matt Jones
Feels like they can get at least one.
Max
Yeah.
Matt Jones
All right. Gray Rock Sports Grill tonight in Fort Collins, Colorado. If you want to watch the game, Mario, the Gray Rock sports Grill better be good.
Eli
It's gonna be good. I'm confident.
Matt Jones
All right.
Eli
I see something.
Max
Wings.
Matt Jones
Wait a minute. This is the chicken wing at the Gray Rock Sports. Girl, that is not it. I don't know where. That's what Charles. That's what Charles Potter said. It. What? Looks.
Eli
I'm looking at different pictures.
Matt Jones
Okay. That does not look like a great chicken wing right there.
Eli
I'm gonna. I'm gonna back up Mario here. I guess. No co. Would that be northern Colorado?
Matt Jones
Yes.
Eli
Do you know what has won best sports bar the last three years? 2021, 2022, 2023.
Matt Jones
What the gray Rock sports All right, there we go. All right just don't get the chicken wings tonight. Don't get the chicken wings. All right, put, put. Get back on here for a second. Max, I need you to pick games with us. Mario, we'll see you tonight. Well, actually I'll see you in the car in just a few minutes.
Mario
Good riddance for not picking the Australian place.
Matt Jones
All right, let's do we picked Kentucky, Clemson. Some other SEC ACC challenge starts tonight game really good games tomorrow night but some of the teams we follow tonight. Let's get going. Tennessee hosts Syracuse. Tennessee is an 18 and a half point favorite at home hosting Syracuse Tennessee.
Eli
And what a waste of a spot in this tournament with having the number three team play Syracuse should be a better game.
Mario
Yeah, we just peaking a winner Battle of the Orange Tennessee obviously.
Max
Yeah, Tennessee is going to die.
Matt Jones
Number three in the country. The Arkansas Razorbacks, heard of them are going to Miami to play the Hurricanes. Miami has not been good this year. Miami is a five and a half or excuse me, Arkansas is a five and a half point favorite on the road. Does Cal get a road win? After starting with a couple losses, Miami.
Eli
Has lost three straight games including losing to Charleston Southern. If Arkansas doesn't win this, I'm putting his name in search and watching the replies coming out our But I'll pick them. They gotta win it.
Matt Jones
Yeah, Miami's three and four with bad losses.
Mario
Miami plays zone. I don't think Arkansas has had a chance to work on that yet. I'll take Miami.
Max
Oh, you're taking Miami? Yeah, I think I gotta take Arkansas as much as I'd like to take Miami. Arkansas wins cows teams they do.
Shannon
They struggle at home and they go on the road and they beat somebody. So they're gonna win this.
Matt Jones
All right, Arkansas and then I think the game of the night besides Kentucky, Clemson, Ole Miss, 23 in the country going on the road to play the Louisville Cardinals. Louisville hosting a ranked team. Louisville did well down in the Bahamas. Now they lost that guy, the dude I said look Davidson Prior, he's out for the year. Louisville's a 3 1/2 point favorite at home against Ole Miss.
Eli
I've watched Louisville play one time and prior look good. I even compliment him on the radio. I never say anything nice about Louisville. I think that'll be a big loss for them so I'll take Ole Miss. He was very good in the game I watched Louisville look a lot more.
Mario
Organized than the team photo earlier this year. So I'll take Louisville.
Max
Yeah, I mean Louisville look great against Indiana. Beat him for up I think almost 40 at one point. But I think losing Prior is going to hurt them. Ole Miss wins this game on the road.
Shannon
I'm going to take Louisville. I think they're better than we thought they were. I think they're pretty good team.
Matt Jones
This is tough because I gole miss is better, but Louisville's at home. You think they get a. Do you think they fill this game up? Like they have not filled anything up yet at you ranked team at home coming off a good tournament. Like, are they not going to fill it up?
Eli
I know they just beat Kentucky in football, so it sounds dumb to say now, but I genuinely think they're permanently broken as far as what it was before the big, you know, crazy.
Matt Jones
That's my biggest thing. Whoever wins. If you can't fill that game up for a ranked team at home on a weeknight, then you're not Louisville basketball anymore. You're just not. You gotta fill that up. Be Louisville shouldn't be like Clemson where we're coming and there's tickets for $20. You got to fill that up. Who's next?
Shannon
Little John is next.
Matt Jones
Little John who will be playing in Little John Coliseum tonight? Who's next? Right.
Levar Arrington
Well, I just want to let you know that arena is not named after me. I have no affiliation with all with Clemson at all.
Matt Jones
I bleed blue all the way through.
Levar Arrington
The only thing good ever come out of Clemson basketball is Tree Rollins and Larry Namp.
Matt Jones
Kentucky by double digits tonight. Thanks. Appreciate the call. You know, we were. When we were at. We went to Iowa. We didn't talk about this. We went to Iowa University yesterday. Saw the spot where Caitlin Clark hit the shot that broke the NCAA record. We all shot from it. Nobody made it except Drew. I'm like the fifth. The fifth try.
Max
There's no video evidence.
Matt Jones
There's no video evidence. But I was surprised how many famous people had gone to Iowa. AC Earl, Luke Jepsen, BJ Armstrong. We got to see all the big names.
Shannon
Brad Lohouse, Brad Lohas.
Matt Jones
Yeah.
Shannon
Yeah. So we went in there, their locker room and saw their little lounge area and it was kind of. It was nice. I was impressed.
Matt Jones
It was cool to be in a different arena.
Eli
Yeah, I really enjoyed that. I've never had any connection to Iowa. Never thought much about it, but just seeing how another school does it obviously wasn't as big as Kentucky's basketball Stuff, but I mean, it was a nice place.
Mario
Seeing behind the scenes yesterday, Ryan's tongue seemed like, was like the slobbering hog on that court.
Shannon
My Caitlin Clark attempt. Yes.
Matt Jones
Yeah, you were. You. I mean, my wrist is still not healed and I shot better than you. You were awful.
Shannon
I hit the rim.
Matt Jones
Yeah, I, I think I realized that the basketball career is over for me.
Max
Like it just finally sinked in. Huh.
Matt Jones
Well, it's just that I, you know that since the wrist, it's right there and I can't, I hope I'm able to play golf. That's my worry now because like when I shot a basketball, it wasn't the same. I could tell. You know, normally it's, it's string music and guitar.
Max
We can get you in the YMCA league, surely.
Eli
What was the basketball career doing?
Matt Jones
Pretty good. Pretty good. I mean, it was going well.
Shannon
You are an all American clapper. Middlesboro High School.
Matt Jones
Yeah, but I mean I was like, you know, I didn't tell y'all when I played. It was kind.
Eli
Oh, you're sneaking off.
Matt Jones
Sneaking off in a rec league sometimes, you know, going off on the side and playing. I mean, I don't have to tell you where I go pick up ball. All right, so tonight our pregame show is at 7:00 Eastern. We will do it from our house in Windsor.
Shannon
All right.
Matt Jones
And then we will drive to Fort Collins to watch the game. So our house in Windsor, 7:00 Eastern, 5:00 our time. But we will be here on WLAP, 7:00 for the Cats tonight.
Shannon
Like I said, Clemson is a tough environment to play in. But I don't think they're the Clemson team they've had of years.
Matt Jones
And it will be a rare post game show with all of us from a hot tub. It won't just be me, it will be. And there is a hot tub. And if we win, we may do the post game show in the hot tub.
Shannon
I'll be in it naked.
Mario
Okay.
Matt Jones
This show is after midnight. We don't need that. There is a child sitting over there. Will you please.
Max
He doesn't care.
Matt Jones
Yeah, I care. For humanity. Thank you all very much for making the trip here. We really appreciate it and thank you to Candlewood Suites for hosting us. We'll see you tonight. From Windsor and Fort Collins, this is Kentucky Sports Radio.

This is Doug Gottlieb from All Ball with Doug Godley. Listen, I'm gonna get serious for a minute. The hate in our country is getting out of control. In fact, it's sadly at an all time high. But it's going to take all of us to stop it. I mean, we're all on the same team in this country. So let's take a break from our hate so our team can regroup. We need to take a time out against hate.
