If you call TJ, he'll make them pay. I have a struggling group of people sitting in this house right now. Well, some of us. Not all of us. Some of us are not. Maybe people could guess who's struggling. Well, great. I would start with you, who ended up walking in the door and falling asleep two and a half feet from the door's entrance. So I'm gonna start with you as number one. Well, whoever the sponsor is for this show, we need to get a new sponsor for whoever locks the door. Like the locks on the door. Because that didn't work last night. Me and Drew almost d of hypothermia. We did. We did. We tried it 47 times. I tried to cut a moose open and get inside to stay warm. I was so cold. All right, so I'll give the basics of what happened last night, because this is a. This is a group, Ryan. That is that. I think 2/5 of our group. 40%. You know, at least on air, Mario's fine. So 2, 6, 33% of our group is struggling. Wait, I'm 100%. I don't even want to speak for me. I'm great. Yeah, you were kind of 100% when you walked in and nearly knocked those paintings off the window. Did not do that. I did not do nothing. Paintings crooked on the wall. I thought they were supposed to be like that, the paintings walking upstairs. I got up this morning all facing in different directions. That's how cold we were. He was just redecorating last night, trying to warm up. The crazy thing is I get up to pee at 2 o'clock in the morning and Drew is still awake. Well, I don't sleep in. When I peeked in there, Drew had all the lights on and he was sleeping in full clothes. Yeah. Because that's how people normally go to sleep. They keep all the lights on in the room. Second night, full clothes. So I just had to night two of bunk bed. I had to just do what I could do. All right, so let me just set up here. Are in Vail, Colorado, which, Ryan, would you say is a nice place? It's beautiful. I mean, this is one of the most beautiful places in the United States. Vail, Colorado, They've got about 22 inches of snow right now on the ground too. Yeah, they are. It didn't snow while we were here, but there's snow everywhere. So there are literally icicles hanging from the, from the Airbnb. We're in a beautiful place, wouldn't you agree? This Airbnb, it's a real, it's super nice. This is picturesque. It seriously, it is picturesque. But those icicles, if they fell on you, they would impel you. You don't walk underneath them. Yeah. So there's snow on the mountains around. Like you couldn't ask for a more picturesque setting. We walked around the. Excuse me. Last night, the Vale village, which is a very nice like area of Vale. This is, this is kind of, wouldn't you say, Drew, where the elite live. Like it's very much a, it's very much a 1 percenters place. Oh yeah. We were definitely the six poorest people walking around last night in those shops. I mean, everything's like a high end restaurant, a high end store. I guess we got lucky and found some Mexican food. But you gotta have a little money to hang out in Vail. I'd say. I think so. And we actually knew some people here. We had Tim and Taylor, the country group that we've met many times on the road, Kentucky fans. They actually just walked in here to ensure that we have attendance. Guy from my high school lives here. He works here. There's, you know, and Drew knew a person, so we knew some random people here. All right, so we go, we go out, we walk around. Drew and I buy a cowboy hat. We'll talk about that later. Couple sheriffs. Yeah, Drew and I, you know, we're cowboys now, but by the end of the night, you know, this Is this is mountain time, Ryan. And our bodies, at least I don't know about mine. Still hasn't totally adjusted. Right. Because it's 8am Here. Yeah. We tried to watch the end of the Duke Auburn game last night. I could barely stay awake. And it's only 10:30 out here. Yeah. So now when the game's over, it was 9:30. Oh, it's 9:30. It's 9:30 when the game's over. But we're still adjusting. So anyway, we go out, we eat, we watch Tim and Taylor play, we decide to come home. And for us, the local time, it's 8:15. Right. Not that late. But we're like, let's go home. We'll leave a side that Drew, instead of allowing us to park in a free parking lot, picked a parking garage that was $75 for 24 hours. That's. That was nice to put that credit card. They're proud of their parking around here. Aren't they going to give back? Gotta help the economy. They're so good. These people I do think are struggling. So not nice to pull the credit card out and say thank you for parking for $75. But we came back. But Max and Drew decide they wanted to stay. Stay back. Now at I heard some rustling at 12:30 mountain time, which would be 2:30 body time. Lilly and Ryan, explain what you saw when you walked down here to let them in. I'd given them a code that allowed them to get in the house. Interestingly enough, they were not able to operate the code. I think it was a fake code. It was. It was four numbers got us in. Interesting. Just a few hours earlier. And explain what you saw. My phone started buzzing. I look over and it's midnight and it says Max Duffy. I mainly think, oh no, they're in trouble. They're gonna need somebody to come pick them up. They're on the side of the road somewhere. They said, no, can you let us in? We're downstairs. Like go downstairs. It's like kids at Christmas time. They could not wait to get inside. And then Max immediately just fell on the couch and went to sleep. So I have a missed call from Max at 12:39, which would be 2:39 back home. Yeah. Yeah. So these guys are out partying late and literally fell asleep steps from where you walked in. Fully closed. It's probably the coldest I've ever been in my life. I mean we, we would try. We were going, dudes, doomsday scenarios like you didn't have access to the car keys. You didn't have access to the house because you couldn't operate the code. What was good. Operate the code? It just wasn't opening the door. What was your plan if you couldn't wake any of us up? I was going to kill Drew, and I was going to kill Moose. He was going to kill me. Is there no doorbell? I mean, you couldn't bang on the door defense. He put in the code a thousand times, and we could hear the lock move, but it. I think maybe something was deadbolted on the inside. He was doing the same four digits you all sent over and over and over. So what was your plan? Because, like, there was a decent chance you. We were all asleep. There was a decent chance you weren't gonna be wake. Able to wake any of us up, I think. I'm kidding. I was gonna grab an icicle, stab Drew through the throat, and sleep inside him to stay warm. Oh. So, okay, Tim and Taylor say they were gonna rescue you. Well, that. Well, maybe. Maybe they should have, because you walked in here, Drew knocked three paintings crooked off the wall. I think that's a slight exaggeration, but okay. Am I wrong, Shannon? Well, not off the wall, but one was crooked. And another one. Another one's hanging on by a thread. So maybe two. Yeah, maybe two. All right. I walked behind you going up the stairs. I was afraid you were going to fall backwards down. Well, those are steep steps, and I could not feel my. Ryan walks you up the stairs the way I walk Larry up the stairs. I'm a cowboy now. I don't need anybody. I don't listen to nobody. I'm a cowboy. He tried to fight Ryan on the way in. It was so. It was a lot. But we're here now. But I will say this. And you heard me, Ryan, say this in the car to Mario. Mario was asking about how late. Mario asked me something like, how late will Drew and Max stay out and will they be at the show tomorrow? I think Mario asked me that. And I said to Mario, can't speak for Max. Haven't done as many trips with Max. Drew will wake up at the bell. Answer the bell. Answer the bell. This ain't no hobby. I've said. And this is true. I've traveled with Drew. How many. How many day overnights do you think you and I have traveled together? Too many. A year's worth, maybe. Maybe eight months worth. I mean, we've. We've gone 14 day trips for Fox. 14 day trips for CBS, twice 14 day trips at the US Open. We've done baseball trips. We've done all of these trips. We've gone to new. So we've probably spent literally six to eight months on the road together. Only once has Drew not answered the bell, and he tried to blame it on me for not waking him up. That was in the Bahamas. He finds a way to get up, and he's there the next day, and he's here this morning. So I give him a lot of credit. He is not as wild as he once was, but he's a pretty wild dude. And Ryan, he always answers the bell every single time, no matter what time they get down. And like I said, little. He was still up at four in the morning. Our time back home, two in the morning here. I'm like, what are you still doing? Well, if you all had been out, Max signed someone's forehead. Like, how can you leave a bar when someone asked for Mac's autograph and he signs on the forehead? There was the Austrian ski team. Those guys were out having fun. So how can you ski team when you're with that Austrian ski team? We consider ourselves, the six of us on the road, pretty handsome girls. Of course. Yeah, we should be doing tv, not radio. We're not in the Austrian ski teams world. And the Austrian. I was a seven at that bar until they walked in, and I immediately became a team. The Austrian ski team is like that. You don't want. You don't want to be competing with the Austrian ski team. They had great hair. The craziest stat, though, is me and Drew weren't the drunkest person out of the six of us. There was another human. Yeah, let's just. Let's talk about Mario. Okay. So, Mario, I knocked the pictures over. We've got. Would you say. Oh, I mean, I've known Mario pretty well in the last few months, you guys, especially Hugh Shannon. This is your first time kind of spending a lot of time with him. Yeah, Mario's wonderful, right? Yeah, he's great. Great addition to the group. Would everybody. Would everybody agree with that? Always. Always a positive mood. Always smiling. Always smiling. Great addition to the group. Never in my existence have I seen a person get drunk quicker than Mario. Mario gets drunk while I'm pumping gas at the gas station from the fuse. It is 0 to 100 like that, like instantaneous. There's nothing in the middle. We laugh about. Two mimosas, Billy. Two mimosas. Billy would put Mario in the ground. No doubt. Mario is within seconds. It's unbelievable. It really. I've never seen anything like it. Smells. He's margarita and he's already drunk. Yeah, he does. And. And I will say then has such a blast. I don't know. Had you ever listened to country music for that extended period of time? No. No. You don't think so? I mean, there a long time he was vibing. I have a video of him. I put out a video of him dancing. Yes. That was the best video for him. There were worse videos. Put it this way. He said, why is the menu in Spanish? And it was in English. I want you to think about that. We went to the Mexican restaurant. He said, why is the menu in Spanish? It was in English. Then the waitress said, you have to turn it right side up. Yeah. Which means he asked the waitress, do you have tacos? Because to. Because to Mario, it said socat. That's not exhausted. He thought they had Socat but not tacos because he had the menu upside down. It was unbelievable. At one point he asked me if I want to do a shot. And I said, mario, I love you. We're not doing another shot, bud. He loves the devil. He loves the devil. Went down to Georgia because that was the song that Tim Taylor were playing where he was just going buck wild during that song. He literally in back to back songs, Max, back to back songs. Looked at me and goes, first I love you, bro. You can't sing. And then the next song, dude, you got a good voice. Well, those are back to back songs. He had forgotten in the five minutes before that, he had just said to me that I couldn't sing. Then he told me I could sing in like in five minutes. He was incredible. I want to be around him all the time. After a shot, he. He discussed the menu with the waitress for about 15 minutes. I looked at him and I said, ryan, you ha. You can't keep this conversation. You have to order something. Like he was asking her where the greens came from in the tacos. You told him, you get one question. I was like, you get what? When you bring. That's a good rule for people. When you bring a server over to order, you get one question. Mario was interrogating her. Mario was asking about the absolute. You get one question. That's it. You cannot have a 10 minute conversation. But he's still a joy, Ryan, wouldn't you agree? Oh, we love being around him. He's a joy to be around. He's a lot of fun. Just, you know, we have a new leader in the getting quick drunk. He just shot. He's done. The difference is he keeps it down. He doesn't throw up like Billy. After two mimosas, Cincinnati, close call. So. Really, did I miss something? Oh, yes. Oh, I didn't see that. Oh, one shot for strawberries. Half a shot, Mario. All right, well, we are having a good time. I know there's a ton going on in UK world, a ton in football. We will deal with it. We're also going to talk about Drew and I have transformed into cowboys since we're here. We're not going back and we figured out who we are on the Dutton ranch and we have in the second hour a way to get rid of the KSR curse. Yes. I'm so excited. A lot that is happening here in Vail. Thanks. Thanks to Tim and Taylor for coming out here to keep the streets going. We'll take a break and be right back. This is Kentucky Sports Radio. It is Kentucky sports radio here in Vail minute. Margarita Mario is taking videos and ready to go. I'm excited. Everybody's a little tired. That's okay. Headed to Salt Lake City tonight. We are going to do the show in Salt Lake City tomorrow. So watch as we come out today. We will put out sometime where we're going to be in Salt Lake City. I just booked the hotel and we'll see what's around there and see if there's a way. What day is it? Thursday. Is it right now? It's Thursday. It is Thursday. Wow. Flying by. It is flying by. So we'll be in. We'll be in Boise tomorrow or tonight or excuse me. Salt Lake City tonight. Boise Friday night. Seattle Saturday night. I had a drain that Boise lost. So we're all going on unlv. I had a dream that they'd lost by a million. Oh, you mean we're gonna bet on you? I mean the witch told me. Let's get caught up there. Let's start. We do need to start with a little bit of news. I think the biggest story. There's a lot of stories from football signing day but the biggest story is Dane Key. You guys been listening to show known about Dane for a long, long time. He is going to transfer. He announced. Ryan, what are your thoughts? You know, you guys know this. I love Dane. I consider him a huge part of my family. So I'm team Dane. You know, I love. He had three great years here. Worked his butt off for this program. Gave Everything. He had three years for this program. But if he wants to maybe have a chance to play for a playoff team or maybe even a championship, I'm all for it, man. So is that what you think is happening? You think he's going to go try to play for a national champion? I think so. And I think there'll be some high level teams come after him. Yeah. So there was. There are reports out there and if you don't know the answer or feel free to say it, but there are reports out there that he was offered up to $800,000 to stay. What are. What are your thoughts on that? I. I'm not going to say. You know, I don't want to get into all that with. Because, you know, I'm team Dane. You know, I know I got a job here to do in the radio, but my loyalty is with my family. Why are you sitting here with your back? I don't know. Do you not want to look at me while we have this conversation? They can't look you in the eye right now like you're looking at a couch on the other side of the room. Like, why don't you just look at me when we talk? I mean, I'm not gonna, you know, I'm not gonna yell at you. I just was. I just want you to tell what you know or what you feel like. You can say. There are some feet, like right here on this edge of me. I can't scoot around. Okay, sorry. I'll put my feet away from you. My thoughts. But, you know, I want to be. I want to be. I'm kind of expecting. Stuck in the middle here with my job here on the radio show and my loyalty to. But would you. Would you agree. Let me ask you put it a different way. Do you think he's leaving because he's unhappy or he's leaving because he wants to go get a chance at a title somewhere? I think both. I think there was a little unhappiness this year, the way the season went and the way the offense went and their lack of production in the passing game. I think that definitely probably played into it a little bit. But I think more than anything, he wants the chance to win a title. We'll go win some championships. There are some reports out there that people think he's going to go to Georgia. You think that's plausible? His girlfriend goes there. Okay, I'm glad. I didn't want to say that, but yes. Well, that's not keeping up with the girlfriend thing. That's Just that's out there. So that's why I'm saying that she's from Bourbon County. She plays softball on the Georgia softball team. So, you know, I'm sure that's going to be in the mix. I don't think they have decided yet, but I think probably, I would guess that would be in the mix. You always say it's a girl. When somebody, a player goes to a particular, particular school, it's always the girlfriend. Yeah. So. So. So you would say if you were in Vegas early, bet Georgia, Really? I was going to maybe wait later this week, but I'm going to make this announcement that Dane and Josiah are going to the package deal to Kentucky Wesleyan College. If he goes to Georgia, he'll play, you know, against Kentucky next year. I mean, we've talked about this. It's no secret. There were schools that came after Dane and Barrion and Dion last year. You know, they came after Chris Rodriguez. I mean, this goes on all the time where. But they chose to come back and stay and play. Like I said, he gave three great years here. You know, six touchdowns as a freshman, six touchdowns as a sophomore, two touchdowns this past year. I mean, the passing game just wasn't there this year. No, no. I mean, it's clear. It clearly wasn't. Now, there were a couple other guys that got in the portal. Keyshawn Silver is the big one. But even that, you know, there, I'm not sure. UK I think wanted Keyshawn Silver, but I also think that it's like a Justin Rogers thing where they go, well, we lose him, but. But it's not. But the Dane thing hurts. I mean, I think it's going to be, at least so far, Max, the biggest loss. We've complimented Stoops and the whole team for a long time about retention and being able to not lose any players. This is the first time where, I mean, we talked about it probably Saturday morning about, you know, Dane's going to the NFL, so that's fine. We're not losing him. We're losing him to the NFL. The fact that he's going to another team, I mean, that's the first time it's worrying of we're losing guys to other teams. I think for the first time ever in the muck. Yeah. I do think Dane is the first guy that they would really, really, really want to keep that they're seeing go to another team. And Drew, I think that's tough. And probably to another team they'll play. It's tough. But I mean, how do they expect someone to come back to that offense? Like Dane should go, Macklin should go. I'm a fan. I want these guys to stay. But what can Kentucky put on the table to say come be a part of this that anyone would want to see or join after this past year. So I mean, as much as I wanted a senior Dane and I want the offense to be good, I don't know how they have any receivers that are interested in being on the team next year. It was so bad this season. Well, that was optimistic. But think about, think about Macklin. I mean, I mean they wasted Macklin's year. I'm not saying you're wrong. So now Mark in his. So Mark skipped his last radio show. I'm. I don't like that. I know this is everything I say will get sort of put to the, to the staff and I, you know, I always think about that. But Mark, you screwed that one up and let. I mean, you know, I guess there could be some emergency or something and you know, if that's the case, then obviously that's the case and I'm wrong. But let's assume it's normal. That's a huge screw up. Shannon. You got. It's the last one of the year. It's signing day. So you genuinely also have something to talk about. Skipping, that is. You're better than that if you're stoops. Like you used to face this stuff head on. Sending an assistant to your final cut to your final one of the year is a lame, lame move. And the problem is he knows that. He knows that's a lame move and he did it. Now again, maybe there's an emergency and if there is, I will take it back. But let's assume there's not an emergency. That's a lame move. To not go on signing day and sit and talk to the fans the last time especially. Yeah. Being the last one of the year. It's only an hour. If you don't want to. If you don't want to face the fans head on, you don't have to take phone calls. But at least do the show. Yeah. And it's Tom. Like Tom's not going to. Yeah, he's going to take care of you. He's going to take care of you. Like I don't like it. I could be completely wrong. But does Vince not normally do that one because he's not like our main recruiting guy. Okay, but then, but, but normally we have another game, so we're going to hear more from Mark later. On we don't have another game. Mark's got to be there. I understand Vince may normally do it, but look, speaking to the public. Vince has now done it twice on this show and that radio show. Mark, you got to do it. Now, he did do a press conference yesterday as part of the signing day, but that's still not the same. You got to talk directly to the fans. Here was this quote, nobody panic. We're going to have a better football team. All right, I heard it. What do you think about that? I didn't love even the way he said it. He was like laughing like, nobody panic. We're going to have it. He's not reading the room. He is not reading the room. The room. It was bad after the Louisville game, but my general thought is always, it's really bad in the moment. But over time it gets better because people start. I think it's worse now than it was four days ago. I think they've. I think he's mishandled the PR in the last four days. So while I don't know that he had universal support before, I think he's made it worse because he's not reading the room. You gotta read the room, Ron. Yeah, and you said it. Usually there's a bowl game where we'll. We'll get. Talk to him, have his exit interview. Then he needs to talk to the fan. I'm sure at some point he'll come on here, but he's. He's not handled this well. He just hasn't. No. And I don't know how you could say otherwise. We'll take a break. Be right back. It's KSR in Vail. Welcome back, Techie Sports Radio. We're gonna go to the phones in a minute. 772-774-5254. What are your thoughts on D. Him? Can Mark turn the ship around? Let's do. Before we get into some goofiness later, let's do one serious conversation here about, you know, Mark gave his. Don't worry, everything's going to be okay. And then he. You could tell he was angry. The wide receiver coach left. He made some kind of statement like, you know, he said he'd stay two years. He didn't. You know, that's not good either. I don't know who that reflects poorer on, though. I mean, he went to Nebraska. Not exactly wide receiver you the last 25 years. Dane is from Lexington. His dad played at Kentucky. His godfather is on the Kentucky Sports Radio network. He is leaving. I don't know how that can be looked at as anything but negative about the program. I'm not saying about Dane himself, but about the program. So let's be real about this for a minute. This is going to be the five of us in whatever form of sobriety three of you have. I'm a cowboy now. The like. Let's be real. Can they turn this around or is this next year a delay of the inevitable? I'm going to make you go first. Define turn this around. We talking about get back to a bowl game to where we were 6, 7 wins, or are we talking about 8 to 10? Do you think they can do something next year that A, gets the fan base at some level back on board and B, makes you believe going into the next year the program is on the rise? Yes, I think they can. I think that the transfer portal, I think they're going to hit that hard. As Vince Mero said, they're going to do the checks on these guys and make sure they have good character and bring in the right guys. And I think that next year they're going to. How many wins do you think they would get next year? I think seven is realistic. Seven. So, I mean, so it depends on if you define that as turning this around. I would say if they got seven wins next year with that schedule, I would count. That is turning. Yeah. So I'll go. Yes. Okay. Drew, I don't have much optimism in next year. This is a multi year rebuild. I think even more so now that you've lost a couple big high school recruits over the weekend. Now, Dane, I mean, they really have to get about one of everything in the portal and then the schedule next year. You got Arch Manning coming to Lexington. You got DJ Lagway with Florida, you got Nico with Tennessee. You're playing Georgia. Even if they do pretty well in this off season, getting pieces, that's a big task in itself, even if you already had a good roster. So I think this is a two or three year project. Whatever you think of Stoops, whoever's in the position, I think next year is kind of a part of a bigger rebuild. I don't. I just think with the schedule and where they are right now, it is nearly impossible to flip this thing around. So you would lean towards. No, I don't feel great at all. So. No, no. Yeah. Okay. All right, Max, to answer Shannon's question, I think if they make a bowl game that's a success, I think if they can turn this thing around and win six or seven games, that's a Huge success. For all the setbacks, losing Dane is massive. We've had two guys on this radio show recently that have paused and said, yes, Ryan was clearly lying. So if the other guy was lying, that's a massive loss. Right? I'm trying not to make jokes. Did you just call Ryan a liar? I mean, he was clearly lying, and he's not denying it. He knew he was lying. So when you pause and say yes, it's probably not a good sign. I mean, we're one for one. So you're saying Ryan's pause and lie about key Ryan. Can you say you found out about Dane Wynn during the show yesterday? That's when Dante and I were texting each other. That's when I found out yesterday. Before you asked me those questions about. So you did the pause lie, and Max is now projecting that on Vince. I think Max is accurate that I was lying. To be serious, I really hope the other guy wasn't lying because you lose him. And then the other one that I'm really worried about is Brad White. I think he does a lot in that locker room, keeping things together and his scheme. Everything is really, really positive for the. For the program. You can't lose those two. So yes or no? If we keep them, yes. If we don't keep them, no. Okay. But ultimately, yes, because I think we keep them. I think we're going to go 50% for guys lying when they pause and say yes. All right. I think they can turn it around. But your question is, can they turn it around next year? And I'm going to say no. I mean, I still think, like Drew said, they're still a couple years away. This is going to be a rebuilding team. I mean, Dane's not the only guy leaving. There's more coming. Just be ready. He's not the only one. Like who? Well, we've talked about. I mean, I don't think. I don't know if Deon's coming back. Barry on's coming back, Macklin's coming back. I mean, that's some big cogs, stars on your team that are leaving. All right, so we have two yeses and two no. Shannon and Max are yes. Ryan and Drew are no. You know, this is tough for me, but I gotta say no, because what is the. What is the thing that makes you think it's gonna happen? The biggest issue for me is do I think, in theory, Mark Stoops could turn it around over a period of time? Yeah, I do. But I don't know if this fan base, this Fan base won't take another year. Like next year. Just remember, they just won't. I mean, they just won't. Look, I, I don't know football, I don't know basketball, like, like a lot of people, but I do know people and I do know this fan base. And I would argue there are very few people who touch more parts of this fan base than we do. And I'm not saying I know everyone, I don't. But I feel like I get a pretty good feel of the online fan base, social media fan base, the radio fan base, the in person fan base from the restaurant, the season. Like I don't know how many people get more of that than I do. And he, if they have a losing record last year, next year he'll have no support. He'll have no support. And I don't see how they have a winning record next year. I mean, practically speaking, let's give them the three wins. Where are three or four more wins coming from? You got Louisville on the road. Okay. Your home games, the games you in theory need to steal are Texas, Florida, Tennessee, Ole Miss and Ole Miss. On the road you got Georgia, South Carolina, Vandy and Auburn. Where are the wins? And it's not the South Carolina they got to pick on for several years. Yeah, all those teams, every single one of those teams has a chance to be as good or better. Every single one of them, except maybe Ole Miss. Ole Miss probably takes a small step back, but where are the wins? Like you said, to keep the fan base engaged, we talked about, they got us hit big in the transfer portal. They got to keep some of these young guys from leaving too. You know, Willie Rodriguez, you know, the running backs, the quarterbacks, they got to keep these. And the thing about the Portal, the thing about the Portal nil era is this. You can get the positive momentum, Shannon going. Yeah, a la Indiana, smu, pick your school. But they also can get the negative momentum going quick because people aren't left in. Go look at what happened to Mississippi State after Mike Leach passed away. Yeah. You know, so it can go, it can go quick up, it can also go quick down. So if I had to bet, do I think they're going to turn it around in a year? Because they, to me, they only have a year. Like they don't have two or three years. Like I think they have a year. And Shannon, I don't see it. It all depends on what they do in the portal that's going to make or break the season. Right. You say where are the wins? I mean, I guess you get your three to get your. Let's say you beat Fanny next year. Then who? Well, I mean, this year you had four wins. You beat a really good Ole Miss team. So let's say you get an upset. Okay, there's five. And then. Well, I mean, I look at the Georgia game, that very well could have been a win this year. You gonna go beat Georgia on the road? Maybe not Georgia, maybe not Georgia, but a team at home that's a ranked team that you play in the sec. I'm saying it's possible you could get to six. We had the second hardest schedule in America by numbers last year. And I think it's harder next year. Yeah, I think it is harder next year. I think I would be shocked if we don't finish with the hardest schedule next year. That's one thing Stoops is timing with the schedule that objectively, whatever you think of Stoops in Kentucky football, that is a brutal schedule the SEC gave them this year that they have to do twice compared to like what a. Missouri got the timing on that with him coaching for his job right now. That is a horrible path he has in front of him. So what, what are we going to say this time next year and we're in Butte, Montana, and they didn't go to a bowl game again, back to back years they get, he can't come back. He can't come back. I mean, there are a lot of people who don't want him to come back now. And I get it. And I have to tell you, if you were only saying what's most likely to succeed. Him not coming back would help us succeed more likely than him, excuse me, him leaving, than him coming back. But I'm okay with the idea of giving him another year. But then they can't do that again. They can't not make a bowl two years in a row on a coach that, that far into his tenure. It's not like you can say, like Billy Napier when you struggled at Florida, you can say he's close. We're not close. We're going the other way. There's some teams that have done it. Minnesota, Illinois, like those kind of teams that was at the beginning, that was on the rise last year and they've come back this year and won a bunch of games. Like they've. They've gone up and down and up and down with the same head coach. I'm not saying it's, you know, super likely, but there are teams that have done it. It's not as if we're going to be the only team. I mean Beamer I guess. But listen, I hope it works, dude. It's better. I don't want to be broadcasting a terrible team. Like I don't want to do that. But I don't know. I don't have. I had no confidence if John Cal Perry came back it was going to be good. None. Maybe this is a little higher than none, but it's not high. Ryan. I'm just being honest. If we're all being real and honest, they're looking at another four or five win season next year more than likely with the way the schedule now Shannon says he's right. Pull up an upset here or there, they get the right pieces that it could still happen. But if we're thinking about right now, it's gonna be tough. I'm not looking forward to the UK Georgia game and Ryan for the 50th time in a row takes Dane Key as his player of the game. Yeah, we don't have to worry about that. I do hope though Shannon for the football team that their IT needs are met. I do too. Because if they're not Pelican Technologies can I need that. We talked about this. Your email got hacked can look at your entire system and help give you advanced email security measures. Two factor authentic authentication, encryption and monitoring for suspicious activities. They specialize in the proactive management Shannon of your I T department. I need all that. UK football is going to need that and so does Shannon. You like killers, huh Rick welcome back. It is Kentucky Sports Radio. There's a story here on 859-280-2287 on Awful Announcing ESPN. You know on Christmas Day they do a scroll that lists all the employees that work at espn. Yeah, and this year they've announced they're only going to do it for people who've worked at least 20 years at ESPN. So I will not be. You didn't make the list. Apparently, there are a lot of people very angry at ESPN because they always like that moment. They take a picture, show it to their family or something like that, and they'll. They're not gonna do it. So, I mean, 20 years, it can't be that many people. I wouldn't think. You're not even gonna make the I Heart list. Yeah, I don't make any list. I get it. I've seen it on there before. I saw my name once, and it was kind of nice. You're like, oh, there's your name. That's nice. There are two Matt Jones in the company, so I'm assuming one of them was me. Maybe it was. Maybe it was two, not including me. I don't know. Is the list Chris Berman, Bob Lee, Linda Cohn, Linda Cohen. That's it. Not gonna be many. Pell's been there 20, hasn't he? Yeah, but I mean, there's also people behind the scenes have been there. That guy, Mikey C. That's my radio producer, he's probably been there that long, but there are not many. Have they told you yet if you're doing a college football bowl game? I haven't heard. I'm supposed to hear. Well, I hear after the bowls come out. Okay, so. And you know, I'm way down on the list, so, like, they may. I can't wait to hear your play by play. I really. I'm really excited about it. I think what's more likely is they tell me, you know, what we did, we didn't get to you this year. We'll get to you next year when you're hit. When you hit 20 years. Woodburst writes, matt Stoops can turn it around, but it's not going to be in one year. He's already been here 10 years. And if it's. If you're only giving him one year, then he has no chance. You have to give him three to four years. This fan base is not going to give him three to four years. They're just not. I know these people. They're not. And you can complain about it and say, well, it's a. It's a culture of, what have you done for me lately? Yep, that's the culture. That's what it is now. I was a big believer in, like, there were people who thought the last two years he wasn't good enough. I thought that was ridiculous. But this year was. This year was a disaster. And it's not just about being for an eight. It's about the fact that they were undisciplined, that there was, you know, that we lost guys, that dudes like Dane Key are leaving. Like, the discipline was a massive issue. It was a massive issue, Drew. Like, you know, I mean, when you got players going to the concession stand, like, that's a massive issue. It just is that. And we're in an era where fans have to have been asked to give more money than ever before. It's expensive as hell to go to a game. Yes. We got the pony up for nil. And these fans this year tailgated, showed up for every game, zero home wins. I mean, if you want the Murrays, sure, you have those. But against power for two teams that matter, you went over and going back to last year, would you have won last year? I don't know the exact stat, but it's like 1 in 12. Whatever it is, you're not winning your home games. You're asking people to give you money, and when they're in front of you and making a day of it, you're just losing. As a favorite to Vanity, he lost by four touchdowns to Louisville to finish the year. So, like you, you know, I'm fine with coaches going, this is SEC schedules a gauntlet. But Louisville didn't play in that and they whipped you on your home field. So the stat that's crazy is Vandy has won more games in Kroger Field than Kentucky against Powell against the sec. That's amazing in the last three years. Who's up first? Rick. Nick is up first. Nick. Go ahead, Nick. Hey, guys. Matt. One of the reasons why. One of the many reasons why y'all show is so successful and everybody listens to it is because you all are genuinely fan. You all have admitted that. That's why it's kind of like an open family. We're all fans and everything. A couple years ago, whenever you all started to be a little critical of some things for Cal, I kind of perked my ears up and I was thinking, why would. Why would they do this? I'm kind of confused. Well, what. Well, we later learned you all knew some things behind the scenes that were going on that you couldn't talk about then that have now come out. And so, you know, certain situation. The reason why I'm a no on turning this stuff around next year is because, I mean, call up, call kettle black. Y'all are being critical of stoops in the program right now because I think you all know there's more stuff Going on than us fans know. And that's what makes me nervous that we're going to fall back, like, 10 years for what Stoops and Vince and everybody have fought for for so long and got us to a new tier. I'm really nervous that there's something going on that you all probably can't say. Ryan, maybe one also, that is making you all be a little critical of our team right now. Well, first of all, I appreciate you saying that, and I appreciate the call. And look, you're. I mean, I'm going to be real. You're. You're right. I mean, we can't say we. We can't say half of. At least of what we know. Generally speaking, in basketball, you know, it was. There was a time it was even less than that. And then I just got to a point, I was like, look, I mean, how much meaner can they be to me than they already are? So who cares? Football. I still have a good relationship with those guys, but they know it. Like, I'm not saying stuff they don't know. They know more than I do. But it was a disaster in that building this year. And Stoops has let that culture slip. He has in, like, I think he's a good guy. I think he can turn it around, but he let it slip. Now the question is, can you catch a boulder rolling downhill? Can you catch it before it gets to the bottom? And I don't know if he's got the equipment to reach down there and get it. He's got a big chain rock to hold it from rolling. Yeah, I mean, well, the chain held it up for a long time, like in Pineville. I mean, that chain has kept. But once it starts rolling, I'm not sure if Russell Thompson and the people in Pineville can get it. You know, Scott Maiden. I don't know if he's gonna be able to grab it in time. I think we were all kind of had a similar feeling last year, but then they beat Louisville and they had. They killed it in the transfer portal. It was. It started to slip last year. Yeah. And then you're right. They grabbed it about a quarter of the way down. Yeah, they did. They grabbed the bowl. They grabbed it. They had some people donate some money to go get some big players. They beat Louisville A and M. Thing didn't work out. They grabbed it and they pushed it back to the edge of the hill. Heel, heel. Right back to the edge of the heel. You're a cowboy now. That's exactly right. And then all of a sudden, it is now slipped and it's, it's, it's, it's really rolling and they're trying, but this is different. And, and, you know, Max, we don't have to go into details, but I know you're disappointed. You were part of the best cultures at Kentucky. I know it's frustrating. It is. I mean, we've harped on it many times. To see someone at a concession stand during a game is from a past player. It's like, dude, what are you doing? And just to see little things like that, sometimes it's like, what are you. But Stoops has admitted it. And I know it's hard to bring it back, but at least he's admitted. I want to see him get up and admit it one time without telling me all the good stuff he's done. We know stand up and go. This year was unacceptable. Do not stand up there and go, this year was unacceptable. But by the way, I've done some stuff here that nobody else has had. If you cook a meal and it sucks, you don't sit there and tell me that the meal last night was really good. I know it was really good. This meal stunk. Stop telling me what you used to do. Used to is irrelevant. It's now. In the future. And at now you failed. So now the question is, what is the future? And we'll find out. We're going to switch gears because we got a curse to get rid of. Yes, I'm a cowboy now.
