So I what is the latest here on the snow? Every time I look, I feel like I hear a different thing. What are they saying? It seems to me of all people, I know you follow the weather. The closest I heard a report this.
Ryan Lemon
Morning on the radio coming in, they're predicting anywhere between eight to nine inches.
Matt Jones
Eight to nine. That's where we are now.
Ryan Lemon
That's where we are now.
Matt Jones
So not freezing rain, snow.
Ryan Lemon
If it changes like you like you said yesterday, the northern Kentucky could get eight to nine and we might get the ice here in central Kentucky.
Matt Jones
Which, which one do we want?
Ryan Lemon
I'd rather have the snow.
Matt Jones
Yeah. And so it's the people to the south of us then you're looking at like what? E Town Somerset. Is that the ice?
Ryan Lemon
Probably. Which is awful. You know, that's when the heel do.
Matt Jones
You know what you're talking about?
Ryan Lemon
I just heard the weather report this morning. It'll change by this afternoon.
Matt Jones
Okay. What are you hearing? I.
Drew Franklin
Sources say I tuned into the local news last night. I don't do that often. Watched little Chris Bailey, that's all. Went with last. Trusted him. Sleeves weren't up, but he had like a little map, I guess you call it. Had purple, pink, and then lighter pink. Lexington was in the pink. That was kind of icy. The purple north of us was the snow. But we were right on the line. So it seemed as of last night could go either way.
Matt Jones
All right, so Shannon, I'm sending. I just sent you Chris Bailey's number. Okay. All right. Why don't you call him? I. I don't trust either of these two forecasts.
Shannon The Dude
I don't trust Chris Bailey.
Matt Jones
Pink or purple.
Drew Franklin
I bet he talks about his pink.
Matt Jones
Purple. You ask Chris Bailey. Okay. And see if he'll jump on here for a second. Let everybody know about this. Okay. So last night I. I tweeted out something that kind of, you know, I don't know, I just wanted to stir the pot a little bit. Feeling a little froggy, right? I just did a little thing saying, you know, where could I find a good snow output computer model? Because you remember Mark Weinberg said, if you post a snow outburgh output computer model, I. I will have you deported to Siberia.
Ryan Lemon
Is that what he said?
Matt Jones
It was something like that. So I did it. I asked for it, and then I tagged him. Bill Mack and Chris Bailey, you know, just to kind of. Well, first of all, I was looking for a snow output computer model. And second, I thought those guys would have the best chance of knowing where they were.
Ryan Lemon
I'm sure they do.
Matt Jones
Now. I don't. I didn't know you could do this on social media. So I want to thank Mark Weinberg. First of all, I know Chris Bailey. I know Bill Mack. I like both of them.
Ryan Lemon
I do too.
Matt Jones
I don't know Mark Weinberg.
Ryan Lemon
Don't know him.
Matt Jones
Might be the nicest person in the world. So this is not. I'm not defaming him. He's just a little spicy. And I think he takes his weather a little seriously. Okay, So I tagged him. I tagged all three of them. Tag thing was up about 10 minutes. And then I went and I noticed that Mark Weinberg was no longer tagged. You know how it'll be like in blue if you tag somebody? His had not gone non blue. And I was like, oh, I must have made a mistake. Like in How I did it. So I went back and I edited it because you can do that now. And I tagged him again, and then it showed up, and I was like, okay, you know, I made a mistake. Blah, blah. Got up this morning, untagged again. Whoa.
Ryan Lemon
Okay.
Matt Jones
I did not know. I guess you can untag yourself from post. Like, leave me out of this. First of all, hate that, because I like tagging Ryan and get him getting his. His message box filled. But I think Mark Weinberg untagged himself twice on my snow input.
Shannon The Dude
Can I. Can I tell you that I think I know why. Why he's not very happy with us. Do you remember when we made fun of him because we said that he farted live on the air?
Matt Jones
He did fart live on the air.
Shannon The Dude
Well, I think all of our people tweeting him and making fun of him maybe hurt his feelings a little. He didn't like that. But he did.
Matt Jones
I mean, he did pass gas, if we're being. He did on the air. Like that happened. So he untagged himself twice. Does this man take computer snow models more seriously than most of us do? Treat the most serious news in the world?
Shannon The Dude
Yes.
Drew Franklin
First of all, if I start on the air, we all make fun of me. You have full permission. Yeah, I'm learning this untagging thing for the first time. I saw your tweet where it was just written out and he wasn't blue, and I thought he had blocked you, and you just kind of.
Matt Jones
I don't think he's blocked me because it looks like I can still see. Like, Pete Thml has blocked me. Okay, Years ago. And so I can't see a Pete Thamel tweet.
Drew Franklin
Rick Bosich has me blocked. I always wonder what he's saying.
Matt Jones
Rick Posage blocked you.
Drew Franklin
I'll never know what's behind that wall.
Matt Jones
There are only, like, two people that have blocked me that I know of. Mark Weinberg and. And Harobalob, the investor. You know, guy used to go on Bill Simmons. And I still don't know why he blocked me either. But. But Mark Weinberg untagged himself twice from my tweets, which made me sad because I thought he might have the snow computer model.
Ryan Lemon
I am hearing this also for the first time, and I am so excited. I cannot wait to learn how to do this. When you tag me in one of your ridiculous.
Matt Jones
Where you can't now. Did you. Do you have Chris Bailey?
Shannon The Dude
He did not answer. He sent me directly to voicemail. You know, like, when you get one ring and it goes to voicemail.
Matt Jones
Yeah, he'll want to come on. He likes. He likes to come on. Let's. Let's. Or text him. Not tag him. Excuse me. Text him and ask him if he will come on. Because I feel like we need a direct from the person weather forecast.
Drew Franklin
Seems like Mark has taken himself out of a conversation with these big weather personalities. Almost like he doesn't want to be one of the top guys.
Matt Jones
Well, they all hate each.
Drew Franklin
I don't want to be on.
Matt Jones
I mean, they all hate each other. You know, the OVW Rumble is Saturday night. By the way, if you like the Royal Rumbers, you can buy that. Say we're already sold out, so you can't come, but you can buy it on pay per view. It's like the game's early, so it's like seven, eight bucks. You can buy it that night and watch. Shannon did not get invited to be.
Shannon The Dude
Yeah, what's up with that, man? Come on.
Matt Jones
A little. Just a little whip. Whippersnapper. You're not an actual. You're not an actual wrestler.
Shannon The Dude
Well, you mean I'm not actual wrestler.
Matt Jones
We could put the three weathermen in there. And I would like to.
Drew Franklin
I'd like to see that triple threat match. So maybe a ladder match. You could Doppler up there. First one to go touch the Doppler.
Matt Jones
Doppler on top of a Doppler on a pole. What? Doppler is like computer thing, right? The Doppler weather model. Okay, so now it's. Have you been to the grocery yet?
Ryan Lemon
I am going this weekend. I've not been yet.
Matt Jones
Well, you better go. I bet it's, like, empty now.
Ryan Lemon
It may be. It may be. But I'm absolutely going today.
Drew Franklin
I have a noon pickup. I'm hoping that everything I ordered is there.
Matt Jones
Dude, pickup straight from here.
Drew Franklin
I'll be going to my parking spot.
Matt Jones
Shannon, what about you?
Shannon The Dude
No. Why are we acting like we're gonna be snowed in for a week?
Matt Jones
Like, do you wait to 9 inches? You will snow this city.
Shannon The Dude
You can go a couple of days without going to the grocery store.
Matt Jones
I can't.
Shannon The Dude
We have nothing in your refrigerator.
Matt Jones
Well, I mean, I don't have anything. I don't have any grocery store.
Shannon The Dude
Dash everything grocery store.
Matt Jones
Well, I have to hope that a restaurant is open. So I'm probably gonna go to Louisville because my Louisville house is closer to places to eat. Yeah. Than my Lexington house. And so I'm probably going to go to Louisville. Louisville tends to actually clean up the streets a little. Bit quicker, honestly. At least in the neighborhood where I live, because there are businesses.
Ryan Lemon
Yeah.
Matt Jones
So I'm probably going to go to Louisville and try to hunker down. Hunker down.
Ryan Lemon
There something we've not talked about. Do we all need to take equipment home in case we're stuck and need to do the show?
Matt Jones
I have equipment home, but yeah, there's a good chance if there's snow and ice, there's a good chance we'll be closed here Monday and we'll be doing the shows at our various houses. So. But I'm excited about it. I don't know about you. I like it. Do you all like a big snow like once a year? No, but you get. The kids get to stay home. Don't you like that? No. You want them to get out of your house? Yeah.
Ryan Lemon
It's time for the kids to go back to school.
Matt Jones
Yeah. You guys don't want to give. You want snow, right? You don't want to go. Who wants to go to school? That's the worst.
Shannon The Dude
So I'm the one person who's got to show up regardless. You guys can do it.
Matt Jones
Yeah. He has to show up. They used to. Back in the day when I heart wasn't cheap, they would. There was a hotel across the street. They would put people like Shannon up in the hotel.
Shannon The Dude
I think they're gonna do that.
Matt Jones
Maybe.
Shannon The Dude
Maybe.
Matt Jones
Well, they are gonna do that for you.
Shannon The Dude
Yeah.
Matt Jones
So they do that because we have to be on the air for the. For the people.
Ryan Lemon
Yeah. Shannon's gotta be in studio, so he could just bring a sleeping bag and just sleep in the studio tonight.
Drew Franklin
Have you prepped, got your salt down? You know, I don't drip in your faucet.
Matt Jones
I have a little container, but I don't. I don't think that's gonna be enough.
Ryan Lemon
Monique just hauled a bunch of salt out in the front. He should.
Matt Jones
So when's it supposed to start?
Ryan Lemon
Sunday evening. Sunday? I think so.
Matt Jones
Not Sunday day.
Ryan Lemon
I think it's like Sunday. 4:00 maybe something.
Matt Jones
So tomorrow for the game should all be.
Ryan Lemon
Should be fine.
Matt Jones
All right.
Ryan Lemon
Should be fine.
Matt Jones
Well, everybody be careful with the. The snow will hopefully get Chris Bailey on at some point and he can let people all over know because I do trust Chris Bailey. He takes it very seriously.
Ryan Lemon
So it does bring. Kentucky has to fly out to Georgia. I guess they'll fly out on Monday. One of that will affect their flight plans.
Matt Jones
Mike. Maybe they'll go Sunday. Yeah, maybe they'll go Sunday.
Drew Franklin
You got Mark, Fox and Pope Used to live, maybe hit their old spots, make a little stay out of it.
Matt Jones
Yes, we played Georgia. That's right. On. On Tuesday. Now Kentucky plays Florida tomorrow morning, 11 o'clock. Early earliest start for a UK game that I can ever remember. I can't ever remember an 11am start. I would go so far as to say I bet we've never had one and I still don't even know why we have one today. Like this week. I went and looked in the future weeks. They're not playing games at 11. Why are they playing? Why are we playing at 11?
Ryan Lemon
Well, you mentioned, I think what Tennessee, Arkansas is after us and then you got NFL games.
Matt Jones
So you think they just want to get it done before the NFL?
Ryan Lemon
I think so. Squeeze in our game. Squeeze in Tennessee, Arkansas.
Matt Jones
So yeah, ESPN has a doubleheader. This is kind of their kickoff to the conference season. It is Kentucky, Florida followed by Tennessee at Arkansas. So two big games.
Ryan Lemon
Yeah.
Matt Jones
To start SEC play. But we're first and we are 11am Are you feeling confident about the game?
Ryan Lemon
Unfortunately, I'm not really because. Just because I think Florida is really, really good. I mean they're good. They're not undefeated for an accident. They're a good basketball team. They got that. What's his name? Clayton Jr. The point guard?
Matt Jones
Yes.
Drew Franklin
Walter.
Ryan Lemon
Walter Clayton Jr. From.
Matt Jones
He's played well.
Ryan Lemon
He has.
Drew Franklin
Very good.
Ryan Lemon
You know, we haven't talked about his yet. Florida has a kid that's 7 foot 9 inches.
Matt Jones
He is 7 foot 9. Have you seen him?
Chris Bailey
Yes.
Matt Jones
He's mad now. He doesn't play. No, but he. They have a guy. You need to. If you're at the game tomorrow. Rupp. Watch him in warmups. He's 7 foot 9. He can grab the rim without even being on his.
Shannon The Dude
How does he not play yourself? You're eight foot tall and you can't play basketball.
Matt Jones
Seven foot nine. He. Well, I mean, and I don't say this to be mean to me he must be terrible if he's 7 foot 9 and can't get in. He must be pretty kind of put.
Ryan Lemon
Your hands in the air kind of slow moving guy.
Matt Jones
But he is, he is, I'm sure someone that just as a human being. Drew, I would like to just visual like just see what he, what, what he looks like.
Drew Franklin
His, his clips are incredible. As you can imagine. He does not have to do anything around the rim but just lift his arm up and put it in. I assume the reason why he can't play much right now is when you're that Big. It's so hard to be quick and move around.
Matt Jones
You wouldn't want to be that big.
Drew Franklin
You can't guard anybody. Can't get around.
Matt Jones
First of all, just think about buying clothes.
Ryan Lemon
Yeah.
Matt Jones
Yeah. I mean just buying clothes in and of itself would be awful. You have to special order everything. Like I have a friend who has size 15ft. It's a. It's a terrible existence. You can't buy shoes in normal situations. You have to order everything online. Most size 15, everything nice is sold out. So you. Because it's all NBA players so you end up having to. It's a tough thing when you're 7 foot 9. I don't know what that guy does.
Drew Franklin
Not shoes, the pair of pants. Finding that inseams a little.
Ryan Lemon
You know when Sean Bradley played at 77 he could little bit.
Matt Jones
He plays the NBA for games. The second pick in the draft, Sean.
Ryan Lemon
Bradley was this guy's 79 and just you. You'll see just kind of like doesn't move very well now.
Matt Jones
The official line hasn't come out. There are some like unofficial lines floating around. The official line will come out this afternoon. You. A couple of the unofficial ones had Florida as the favorite. What do you think Kentucky's going to be? You said one yesterday.
Drew Franklin
You said one or two. Kentucky just with the home court advantage. I think it's pretty even if these two were just on a neutral court and no crowd and we're just playing basketball. But I think with it being at rup, you know we talk about it being early for Kentucky. I mean Florida's first true road environment is 11am that's going to be difficult on them too. But I think Kentucky point or two.
Matt Jones
Well, I hope. Here's the thing. I hope Kentucky fans we need to get to the game. You know you need to be there when it starts. Right. So we open here at 9. Our show starts at 8:30. Come in. You can have breakfast and then go. But we you like we need to be there. Ready to go. The problem for this Kentucky team has been the start. We have started poorly in like our last seven games and I think you mentioned it Drew yesterday Ryan. We can't start slow and at 11am on, on a Saturday, that's a way you start slow if you're not careful. Yeah.
Ryan Lemon
They got to find an answer to figure out how they can get off to a better start.
Matt Jones
Because.
Ryan Lemon
Because yeah, you get down early in some of these SEC games it may be too, too late to come back because these SEC teams are really, really.
Matt Jones
Strong I genuinely believe that this game is going to be a game that will almost decide what where can. Like I will bet you at the end of the year, Florida and us are very close to each other. This could be a game that's a tiebreaker to get a double buy in the SEC tournament. Like I think it could be that important.
Drew Franklin
I think so too. I mean, right now I have not have any games yet. Tennessee, Auburn and Alabama I think could be fighting for one through three and you know, Florida, Kentucky, this game could decide who's number four at the end of year. Still a lot of basketball to be played, but we could be looking at the last week of the SEC and this game decided who's playing on which day of the tournament.
Matt Jones
Totally agree with that. 859280, 2287 will continue to effort. Shannon, how's the effort coming with Chris Bale?
Shannon The Dude
Oh, we're still efforting. No answer. We'll keep busy.
Matt Jones
He shouldn't be busy.
Shannon The Dude
Nothing going on.
Matt Jones
We will take a break and we'll be right back here at KS Bars, Kentucky Sports radio. Stop, collaborate and listen. This is Kentucky Sports Radio. 859-280-2287. Where are you folks from, by the way? Frankfurt. Frankfurt is in the house. You know that's state capitol.
Ryan Lemon
It is state capitol, Yeah.
Matt Jones
A lot of people don't realize that.
Ryan Lemon
I used to trick people growing up in Indiana. Is the capital in Kentucky pronounced Louisville or Louisville? And we say, I got him.
Matt Jones
Do you just.
Ryan Lemon
I got him every time.
Matt Jones
This dude like he was. So he just. You can't. Couldn't get near him when he was in Indiana.
Chris Bailey
Third grade.
Matt Jones
Joke barbs. Yeah.
Drew Franklin
No recovering from that.
Matt Jones
Good night. Slow down there, Chief. 859280, 2287. Give us a shout, a couple open lines. One person writes, tell Shannon he needs to get prepared. People like Shannon are part of the problem. They don't prepare and then they clog up the roadway. You're part of the problem.
Shannon The Dude
I am.
Matt Jones
You're part of the reason we have problems.
Shannon The Dude
So prepared. I've got me a hotel room right down the street. I'll probably stay there on Sunday night, actually.
Matt Jones
So which hotel downtown?
Shannon The Dude
I don't want all my fans, like knocking on my door. I can't tell you, like which hotel I'm in.
Matt Jones
Okay. Chris Bailey says you can call it. Okay, why don't you. Why don't you go ahead and do that, 859-280-2287. While we wait for him a second. Did you see what happened to the young dude on Georgia, Parker Jones, yesterday, a name that no one knew and that no one knew they were going to know until yesterday.
Drew Franklin
And I'm, I'm part of the, the large crowd on the Internet that searched his name and went through all the memes. I didn't hit, like, I'm not even saying I enjoyed it, but there was a lot of Parker Jones on the Internet last night.
Matt Jones
If you didn't see. Parker Jones is just like a walk on. He's one of the, he's one of those dudes that they're not going to have on football teams anymore when the new regulations come. He's just like a white guy with a bowl haircut that probably has a father that's a donor or something and is on the team. Yeah, they're not. Well, let's save it because I want to talk about him. But Chris Bailey is on. Okay. So, Chris, thank you for coming on. We like to have you on for weather emergencies. How, how are things coming in the weather room and are you fighting with anyone?
Chris Bailey
No, no fighting as of yet. We still got to pace ourselves, Matt. As you know, we have the winter storm coming Sunday, Monday, and it's a, it's a big hitting system. Significant snow for the northern part of the state, freezing rain, sleet along and south at 64, I think is going to be fairly significant. It's a situation where you hope there's more snow or sleet than freezing rain. Freezing rain is just the pure ice that, you know, accumulates on everything, power lines and trees and stuff. And that's the, that's what we want to avoid.
Matt Jones
But so where in Kentucky, Chris, is it going to be the worst? Like if you were to say, because we got people obviously listen, all over the state. What is the area that if you're in that you think right now is the one you think that you say the freezing rain is the worst. Where do you expect that to be?
Chris Bailey
It is right now probably along and south with the heaviest band of freezing rain of 64.
Matt Jones
So give me like some towns like Danville, Somerset, you're talking Danville, maybe Richmond.
Chris Bailey
Through Big Sandy Valley, Paintsville, Prestonsburg, Pikeville, some places like that. And then farther to the north of that is where that heavy snow band looks like it's going to set up right now.
Matt Jones
Is that north? Are we talking like northern Kentucky for the snow?
Chris Bailey
Yeah, exactly. And the thing to keep in mind with this, Matt, is that everything with this system, you know how some will go like southwest, northeast or cuts in different directions. This thing is just moving like a bowling ball due west to east. So you're going to get all the precipitation amounts coming in a straight line from west to east. So for instance, what happens in Louisville is likely to happen in Lexington.
Matt Jones
So what do we think happens in Louisville and Lexington?
Chris Bailey
I think both cities will get significant amounts of snow to start, then go over to sleet, freezing rain, then back to snow.
Matt Jones
So it's Monday, a mess all over the state.
Chris Bailey
Yeah, it is.
Matt Jones
It is.
Chris Bailey
And Sunday, Sunday through Monday's a mess. And the, you know, the sad part about it is the fact that whatever falls doesn't matter, Matt, because it's going to be there probably a week later because it's going to be so cold after.
Matt Jones
So how cold does it get after? Ryan was saying zero degrees, but of course, Ryan doesn't know anything. So what about you? So how cold is it going to get?
Chris Bailey
Hey, hey, hey. Scoop is right on it.
Matt Jones
You're.
Chris Bailey
You're talking right around zero, give or take a little bit. Wednesday, Thursday of next week, zero on.
Matt Jones
Wednesday and Thursday of next week, zero. Very close to that.
Chris Bailey
And some may be below zero. Because what happens if you get a clear. If you get a clear sky over top of a snowpack, Whether it's snow or ice on the ground, that temperature just bottoms out.
Matt Jones
And yeah, Wednesday, Thursday, zero degrees is very cold. So. So before. But the great information. So if you were. So do you think everyone in the state, for the most part, gets affected by this in some way?
Chris Bailey
I do. Without question, the. The lowest impact right now is going to be the Tennessee border counties. But even there, compared to what I was thinking yesterday, I think their impact is greater than yesterday. So I think they start out as freezing rain for several hours. They will briefly go over to some rain tomorrow night for several. Or say whatever this is Friday on Sunday night, I should say for several hours. And then everybody ends the snow again on Monday.
Matt Jones
So total accumulation in Lexington and Louisville, you think will be what I.
Chris Bailey
For snow, you're talking about the potential for several inches. I can't really put a number on it yet. Because here's the thing, Matt, when you're dealing with, you know, for Lexington, Louisville, we're going to get three different precipitation types. And how long do you. How long of a duration do you get of snow? How long of a duration do you get of sleet? And how long do you get a duration of freezing rain?
Matt Jones
Do you expect power to go out in lots of the state?
Chris Bailey
I would say there is going to be A large chunk of power outages coming up. Yes.
Matt Jones
All right, well, Chris, not great news, but at the same time, you, you, you, you, you at least give it to us and that's good. And so you're basically saying if you're in that Danville, Richmond area, those are the places to kind of be the most work.
Chris Bailey
Right, Right now if I. Yeah, if I'm within, If I'm within 75 miles of Interstate 64 on that southern side of it right now, I think that may be the prime zone. Ice. Yeah.
Matt Jones
All right, Chris Bailey from wkyt, thank you very much at Kentucky Weather Twitter. I need a fight from you this weekend. Don' me down.
Chris Bailey
Listen, man, I'm too old for that stuff now. You know the younger me could do that.
Matt Jones
You listen, all you got to do is tell Weinberg you got a snow model and it'll be on. Thank you, Chris. Appreciate it.
Chris Bailey
All right, take care, guys.
Matt Jones
75. So from I 64 south 75 miles, that's the danger zone. So if you're in that area, watch out.
Ryan Lemon
And it sounds like awful. Even Lexington, Louisville, cuz we get all three. Snow, sleet, freezing rain.
Matt Jones
All three of them could hit Danville and Richmond. Who, who knew? Larry Vaught. Make sure you're undercover.
Drew Franklin
I'm not too far from Richmond. I might catch a little. The, the, the Richmond store.
Matt Jones
Yeah. Somerset Bob in Jamestown. Are you going to be, Is he going to be all right?
Ryan Lemon
He can come up, stay with you.
Matt Jones
No, he's good right where he is. We don't need to, we don't need to bring him this way. All right, we will talk a little bit more. We will take your calls right after this. It's Kentucky Sports Radio. TJ Smith, personal injury attorney. Call tj. He'll make him pay.
Shannon The Dude
Now more of Kentucky Sports Radio, Stockton Mortgage. Here's Matt Jones.
Matt Jones
Do you know who this is, Ryan?
Ryan Lemon
I know this song, but I don't know who it is. I know you do.
Matt Jones
Take a guess. Think about what? Think about what? What's going on right now. Shannon likes to make things associative. Go ahead. Keep the music playing so he can hear it. What would the name of this artist be so that you can, you can hear it?
Ryan Lemon
The Snowman.
Matt Jones
Closer. Close. Think about informer.
Ryan Lemon
The Weatherman.
Matt Jones
No, he's not named the Weatherman. You're now getting farther away.
Ryan Lemon
Oh, the Iceman.
Matt Jones
No, no, no. Do you had one of the words right?
Ryan Lemon
Snow.
Matt Jones
So what would his name be?
Ryan Lemon
Snow Person.
Matt Jones
No, no, close. Just Snow.
Ryan Lemon
Just snow. His name is Just snow.
Matt Jones
Just snow.
Ryan Lemon
I didn't know that.
Matt Jones
Informer. Do you remember this song?
Ryan Lemon
Oh, I definitely remember the song.
Matt Jones
Yeah. Names.
Ryan Lemon
Name Snow.
Matt Jones
859-280-22-287. One person writes, Matt. Even with weathermen, you always interrupt them. Why don't you let people finish the sentence?
Ryan Lemon
You got to keep them moving. You got to keep moving. You had a lot of information we wanted in a short amount of time.
Matt Jones
Yeah. And you got to. You got to get the weather people to the point. They're used to filling time on the air, and they just yabber, yabba, yabber. And you gotta, like, go. Chris is really good. You just got to say, hey, what about this?
Drew Franklin
Yeah, hey, tell me some actual cities. Give me some to the.
Matt Jones
All right, so real quick, before we go to the phone, Parker Jones. So Parker Jones, he's standing there. He's got his frat boy haircut. He's got his jersey, but he doesn't even have pads on. So, like, he's not gonna play, Drew. He's just there hanging on. Referee George has got to run. They're going. Referees run down the sidelines. And Parker gets in the way, and he hits the referee. If you go back and watch the replay, you can see the referee's face getting angry while he's like. He's like, what are you doing? You're. You little snot. 15 yard penalty for interference. Tough look, right? Yeah. Kirby goes crazy. He starts yelling at him. Back up, back up. He's screaming. And then poor Parker Jones. I mean, he's like, the. The Internet is made to give this kid a hard time, right? They look him up. They're like, parker Jones. Then all of a sudden, on Twitter, everyone's searching his webpage. You know, his. His player page on George's website crashes. So many people are going to it. It part. He's the number one trend in America. And all I could think about is, what if you were him on the sideline? And like, you. You are. You feel bad, but you probably have no idea that the whole world is talking about you, right? So then the game keeps going. Georgia loses, and at the end, ESPN was just diabolical. Drew with a minute left, they show him on the sideline and go. You got to wonder what Parker B. Jones is thinking, as if he was the one that caused him the game. I mean, he did. That was, like, in the second quarter. It was early in the game. But Parker Jones, what do you think his life is like right this minute in Athens?
Drew Franklin
I can't remember a reaction And a network zooming in quite aggressively as that was. There was also a sorority group chat about him that leaked. Like.
Matt Jones
There was not a sorority group chat.
Drew Franklin
Yeah, yeah, he caught a lot of strays that had nothing to do with football.
Matt Jones
There was a sorority group chat.
Drew Franklin
A good look for him.
Matt Jones
Oh, poor sorority group.
Drew Franklin
Yeah, it was. It was about him. I. I mean, they put it out reacting to this. I. I was just thinking, someone please get to the locker room and get his phone before he does. And just tell him, parker, can you imagine? We're gonna knock it on our phone tonight.
Matt Jones
Can you imagine when he turned his phone on? He had to be like, you remember, I've told you that story before on this show about the woman who made the. The. The. The joke that was inappropriate before she got on a flight to South Africa. Do you all remember that story? And then she was. Then when she landed, she had lost her job and all this stuff. And they talked about how she turned her phone on and her world had just changed. I wondered about that with Parker Jones last night.
Ryan Lemon
Yeah, he is now George's Bartman. You know, he's the poster child for that loss. How can he walk across campus when school and classes resume? Because, man, everybody. Everybody on that campus knows who that kid is.
Matt Jones
But he didn't cost him the game.
Ryan Lemon
No, he didn't.
Shannon The Dude
By 13 points.
Matt Jones
They lost by 13 points. But will he be on the team next?
Drew Franklin
No, he won't be in Georgia next year.
Matt Jones
No.
Drew Franklin
You get sad because I. I was for Notre Dame. I was rooting for Notre Dame.
Matt Jones
You think he's not even at Georgia. No.
Drew Franklin
And I. He had zero impact on that game. He really does. The first quarter, Kirby even said in his press conference, we didn't take advantage of the 1st and 10 anyway. Like, it really didn't hurt him that bad. I couldn't believe ESPN zoomed on him in the fourth quarter.
Matt Jones
That was diabolical mistake.
Drew Franklin
It happened in the fourth quarter. All right. But it is hours later.
Matt Jones
There's him again. Later.
Drew Franklin
He has his back. He's walking towards the locker room, and they're zooming in on somebody.
Matt Jones
Just say something to Parker Jones. Parker, I kind of feel bad for you. You were just. He was just excited. Hang in there. It'll be okay. You know what? You might not be able to stay at Georgia. Alabama's good, though. There's other good colleges. Hang in there. You know, I. I feel like Bartman. Bartman went away. Hopefully Parker Jones doesn't have to go away. Like, right now, they're they're showing him on tv. Like, come on, man. He didn't do anything. Like. Like he's picking his nose on TV at that moment.
Ryan Lemon
You know, he is peeing his pants because they just called the penalty. He's trying to hide.
Matt Jones
I feel bad for my Jones brethren there. Parker.
Ryan Lemon
What if he wants to transfer to Kentucky? Do we take him?
Matt Jones
Nah. We need some better players than Parker. I think next year. Who's up first?
Shannon The Dude
Zach.
Matt Jones
Zach. Go ahead, Zach. Yes, sir.
F
Do you hear me? So I had a question. Got a question for Ryan. I sent you a message on the text machine last night. Ryan, are you with the doordash? And I'm really excited for you, but are you taking things out for, like, your taxes and purposes?
Matt Jones
Yes. Are you? Fine. Are you taking that? Are you taking your taxes out as a realtor?
Ryan Lemon
You know, you're a W9 employee, so, yeah, I'm familiar with what they. I got to do there.
Matt Jones
Did you do it yesterday?
Ryan Lemon
I did for a couple hours.
Matt Jones
Did you get any people who gave you extra tips?
Ryan Lemon
Negative. No. They must not have been listening to the show.
Matt Jones
A ton of people write me, say they were going to give you extra tips. Did they not do it?
Ryan Lemon
Well, I did it a couple hours after the show, and then I wanted to get home, watch the Georgia Notre Dame football game, so.
Matt Jones
So I had a suggestion. I appreciate the call. Somebody suggested this, and you have to tell me if you're up for it, but would you want to take a night that you just delivered directly from ksbar, Take out the Middleman of Doordash, and you did that. And then that way it would be fans of the show.
Ryan Lemon
I'd love it. I think it'd be a lot of fun. You get to meet some people, and.
Matt Jones
Then maybe Mario would go along with you.
Ryan Lemon
Let's do it.
Matt Jones
All right, so we'll do that one day. I don't know when, but we'll pick a night, and then that way we'll just take out the middleman. You know, doordash. All they do is just take a bunch of money from you. This would be direct KS Bar to Ryan Lemon, to the people, any night but Sunday night.
Ryan Lemon
Monday nights, it's going to have ice and snow.
Matt Jones
We could do it Sunday night.
Shannon The Dude
That's what we need you the most.
Matt Jones
That's when we might need you the most. That's when people would. Would need it the most.
Shannon The Dude
You get big tips at night, too.
Matt Jones
Oh, big tips.
Shannon The Dude
Yeah.
Ryan Lemon
I'm down.
Matt Jones
We may not be open, but. But we'll. Yeah, because I mean, nobody's gonna come in here and eat, so we may not be open, but. But either way, you're up for that.
Ryan Lemon
Yeah, I think it'd be fun.
Matt Jones
I think fans could directly get from you.
Ryan Lemon
It would be just a lot of fun. I. I actually enjoy it, you know, so that's one reason I picked to do that. I had some other, you know, I was looking at what can I do to pick up some extra cash. This was appealing to me. I think it's fun.
Matt Jones
Yes. Only fans.
Ryan Lemon
That's next week.
Shannon The Dude
How's your feet, Rex?
Chris Bailey
Ryan.
Matt Jones
Rex, Ryan feet. You know, I got little bitty feet.
Shannon The Dude
I think there's a market for that.
Matt Jones
Like that again, please.
Drew Franklin
I think people would watch it. Only fans of Ryan just doing show prep and regular Ryan.
Matt Jones
That would just be Ryan sleeping if you did that. Who's up next?
Shannon The Dude
Hunter.
Matt Jones
Hunter. Go ahead, Hunter.
F
Hey, how you guys doing today?
Matt Jones
Doing good.
F
So little tip for Ryan. So I'm actually a full time doordash driver. He just need. So he needs to try to get 100 orders in a month because what they do is they have special programs. I don't know if you hit it yet, but essentially once you hit the highest program, you can go whenever you want. So you're not waiting on doordash. You can actually just do it whenever you want. You can go however long you want.
Matt Jones
Can I tell you real quick before you go to your second one, can I tell you what I saw a door dash driver do yesterday? Yeah, I've never been madder. I was at Chipotle. This door dash driver was waiting on his food and the place was really crowded. So I'm sure he's waiting longer than he wanted to wait. I heard him. I'm at the front of the line and you know, you know me, I can't stay quiet. Like, I want to stay quiet, but I can't stay quiet. But I don't like when people are rude to people. I especially don't like when people are rude to service people, especially in the food industry. These people don't make enough money for what they're doing. Like, and it Chipotle, they don't even like, get tips. So, like, they don't even have the big money day. So it's no reason to be rude. These people, this doordash driver sitting there waiting, he said, where is this food? And she goes, we'll get it to you in just a minute. And he mumbled under his breath the. The B word. And I went. And so then I was like, hey, dude, no reason to be rude to her. And he goes, you shut your mouth. I'll say what I want. And I'm like, don't be rude. She's gonna get there as quick as you can. You don't have to be rude to her. And he starts coming at me, blah, blah, blah. Well, then the woman comes and he. I don't know what happens between the two of them. I didn't see it. I'm paying for my food. Next thing I know, he spits on the woman. No way. He literally spits on the woman. She calls the police. Yeah, she calls the police, says kicks him out of the restaurant. He's cussing at her. Police come. She wrote his license plate down. So I think there'll be at least one less driver for you. Have to compete with. I would. I couldn't believe how rude this dude was to her. I mean, calling. It spits on somebody.
Ryan Lemon
Isn't that an assault?
Matt Jones
I mean, it's something. I don't know what. I would. I'll leave that to the police department, but. And then as I was leaving, the police came in. He was gone at that point, but I saw him come in, come into the place.
Drew Franklin
That's awful.
Matt Jones
Anyway, go ahead. What was your second point?
F
That was insane. I've had. I've had similar situation. I've seen other doordashes.
Matt Jones
Yeah.
F
But not that extreme. Second point is. So I'm actually from Utah. I call the post game shows quite frequently, actually. But I actually get to come to the Alabama game. It's my first ever Kentucky game. So I want to hear one area because we have. We come in about Thursday. So we have Thursday and Friday to explore Lexington. Yeah, one. One restaurant from each of you that I should go to and try and hang up and listen.
Matt Jones
Appreciate the call. All right, so if you were to pick, obviously, I'd love for you to come here because this is a wonderful Kentucky experience. But let's take this off because we're biased. What would be the one Lexington restaurant you would suggest that people coming from out of town try if they want a Lexington experience?
Ryan Lemon
I always suggest Carson's because it's not ridiculously expensive like Tony's and Jeff, Ruby's, Carson. The food at Carson's is awesome. It's a great environment. So I'm going with Carson's.
Drew Franklin
It's usually my number one recommendation, too. If you're looking for, like, something truly Lexington, I think of, like, certain items, like a fried chicken at American or something like that, but it's just another good restaurant I always recommend Carson's and Tulip are my two that are kind of chain, just kind of a good dinner in Lexington that they don't have anywhere else.
Matt Jones
I think even though it's Italian and there are places in America you can get better Italian, I think Giuseppe's is a very Lexington place. Right. It's out there. It's kind of like hidden and it like you walk in, it's just a very Lexington kind of feel out there in the, in the middle of nowhere.
Ryan Lemon
If it's spring and summer, I always recommend Palmer's because you could sit outside by that.
Matt Jones
Hey, this year, go beyond resolutions and create a happier, healthier lifestyle you can be proud of. That's what our friends at Cornbread Hemp are here for. Relieve aches and pains, help you sleep, feel better naturally without a hangover. It's cornbread hemp.com use my code KSR at checkout for 30% off your order. Cornbread hemp, it's the good life. UK women's basketball coach Kenny Brooks will join us in the second hour. They had a pretty amazing win to start their season SEC play. We'll be right back. Kentucky Sports Radio.
Drew Franklin
Yeah, I think he said quirk.
Matt Jones
Welcome back. It is Kentucky Sports Radio here at the KS Bar and Grill. We're open here in 15 minutes for lunch. Got some folks here. You said you lived in South Carolina, is that right? That's good. Nice. From here, from South Carolina gonna be. Excuse me. Better get home before all the snow hits you here. Coming up, another good crowd in here.
Drew Franklin
With not much school going on.
Matt Jones
Yeah, no, no, school works. Works out well. 859-280-2287. One person said, Matt, if the Parker Jones thing happened at Kentucky, do you think our fans would be mad at it? Yeah, but I don't think our fans are as angry on the football side as some of those guys are now. But let's, let's, let's use a sit. Let's use an example that we're used to. Let's say it's the NCAA Final Four. All right, so Final Four and what was it? Brian Long. Remember Brian Long or Sam Malone gets a technical from the bench in the first half while we're making a run. So we're down, let's say eight in the first half and he gets a technical. We still end up losing by 10. But do you think people would, would be upset about it?
Ryan Lemon
Yeah, of course. And they would blame him and say, well, that's where everything changed and you know, we were on a roll till that happened and the momentum changed. They would find every excuse in the world to blame it on that kid.
Drew Franklin
Yeah, I think there'd be a lot of backlash. I don't think it'd be to the extent of this. And I can't even imagine they're walking off the Final Four and they're zooming in on Sam Malone in that scenario. That's still what made last night so we couldn't.
Matt Jones
I mean, they really. They just called him out at the end. It felt like an extra little, you know, that they didn't need to do.
Drew Franklin
I think they, they have a big role in this. But I agree that it would happen at Kentucky. Maybe not to this extent, but I think there'd be that kind of backlash of a walk on. Played a role like that.
Matt Jones
Let me give a shout out to the women's team since we are going to have Kenny Brooks on the women yesterday, one by 20 in their first game in the SEC over Mississippi State at home. First time in program history that two different players on the team both made seven three pointers in a game. I don't know. I mean, Corey Price can tell me if the men have ever done that. I don't know if the men have ever. I would be surprised if that's ever. I mean, Monk hit seven threes. Meeks, Reeves did. But we haven't had too many guys hit seven threes. And I don't think we've ever had to hit them in one game. We had to do it last night. They shot 65% from three. I watched the entire second half. That Georgia Moore, you know, she. She now like she. Those first few games took her a little bit to get ready, but she dominated that game. Shortest girl in the court. We have a very tall team. Like if you watched our team, all the women are very tall. And then the shortest one is just going around like she's impressive.
Drew Franklin
Yeah, she was awesome. And Deja Lawrence was awesome. They combined for 55 points. Deja was hot at first. She was the one we were kind of watching chasing history. I was watching the whole game. She was 7 for 8 at one point. And then we're talking about her being one away. That Amore makes a bunch in the second half to catch up with her. And they both end up with seven, one shy of the record of eight. And then they get the team record. But I mean, Kentucky, that was just so fun to watch. Mississippi State had a little bit of a run in the third quarter, but then Georgia Shot him out of it again.
Matt Jones
Kentucky women are like 13 and one and you know, I mean they're good. Kenny Brooks, they're going to be like, he's going to be really good here, like really good. It's another example. This might be the worst team he has here and yet they're still, you know, top 15.
Ryan Lemon
They may and probably will have a better record than the men's team. And the men only had two losses right now the women have one loss.
Matt Jones
No, they probably will have a better. Who's up next?
Shannon The Dude
Let's go to Joe.
Matt Jones
Joe. Go ahead, Joe.
F
Hey y'all, I'm calling it now. The Cats come out hot tomorrow and.
Matt Jones
Otega always puts his knee in that 8 foot tall guy's face.
Ryan Lemon
Go Cat.
Matt Jones
Well, he's red shirting so it'll be hard for them to do it. Who do you think has to have a big game for us tomorrow? Besides the obvious, you know, Lamont Butler plays well. Is there somebody you think has to has to step up?
Drew Franklin
Well, I'll give another one. But the Butler Walter Clayton matchup at point guard is actually going to be very exciting and could determine the game. So he will need to play well. But I still want to see more aggression from Andrew Carr. He was great in the first half against Brown when Kentucky couldn't score, had 14 points, finally shot a three and made it. I would like to see him continue to play better and better each game.
Matt Jones
They're going to be good on the glass. So I think our bigs have to have to play well. The Walter Clayton, Lamont Butler though, that'll decide the game who wins that, that battle because that's going to be a heck of battle. Two of the three or four best point guards in the league.
Ryan Lemon
I'm really looking forward to that. But you said what my key area was going to be. They've got two seven footers, Condon and Hangleton. The dude that transferred from Marshall. Yes. They're both really good athletically, I mean offensively. So that's going to give Amari Williams and our bigs a problem.
Drew Franklin
I think they're a good offensive rebounding team. They are very bounded half of their misses in the first half a week ago so that needs to improve.
Matt Jones
I last night, I don't know if any of you all did it, I turned on Washington was playing basketball, it was late at night and I turned it on. First of all, Washington being in the Big Ten throws me off because they're playing a conference game against Maryland, which is crazy but great. Ausabor. Okay. That was the dude, if you remember, who almost came here. He is being paid more than any college basketball player in the country this year. Great ossoboard. I watched him play. He was good. But in watching him, I have no idea how he would have played here. Like, he's not in shape. He's. He's a big load. He's like the ball has to go through him. He reminds me of Oscar. Quite honestly, I drew. I don't know how he would have played in this system. I mean, he's just. He's talented. He got big buckets for him. But he is like 280 pounds and just a big load.
Drew Franklin
There was a point it. That almost seemed like a lock there. A lot of talk of him being here because he's known Amari Williams as they were kids in England. It seemed like we're gonna get a Williams Osabar package deal to start the Pope era. And he goes. Money pulled him away. I haven't watched a full game, but just keeping up with stats and seeing a little bit of clips.
Matt Jones
He's just.
Drew Franklin
But he seemed like a.
Matt Jones
He's very good, but he just doesn't seem like the kind of dude that would play for Mark Pope.
Drew Franklin
It doesn't seem like he should command as much as he got. I mean, he got a lot of money coming out of you.
Matt Jones
Well, he gets the ball and he just pounds it, throws himself into the guy and then. But. But he finishes a lot. So it works out.
Ryan Lemon
Yeah. Pope likes his bigs. If we've seen it, you know, try to help direct the offense, step outside the 15 foot and, you know, make good passes.
Matt Jones
Would have been interesting though, because he would have probably played Williams would have been in the backup, probably wouldn't have gotten Garrison. So it would have been interesting to see how that played out. 859-280-2287 we're here at the KS Bar and Grill going to talk about some football. Kentucky actually got some national praise yesterday. We'll tell you what it was right after this.
