Jackson just missed a three by. Jackson missed the three. Terrible. But you know, Butler gave up a layup. Amari took a bad hook. This is the start of the game. I can't watch it. I'll get frustrated. 859-280-2287 we were talking about the floor. Did you. What did you think of the floor last night for Georgia? Well, we hit it. Us old guys don't like it as much, but there's a 10 year old sitting here and he like. So the 10 year old liked it. I thought it looked, you said it looked like mop water. I don't mind the dog and everything else. I just thought it's an interesting color choice. It's kind of gray, not gray. I would have done a different color overall. They could save it with that. You know, Shannon, I kind of wonder if, if like last night may have been a night where it sort of, you know, became clear to me that maybe these things are not marketed for me anymore. Like you just have to go because I think that floor was really hideously ugly. And then I turned on the golf league last night. Did you all watch any of it? As soon as I get home a little bit, yeah. I mean, I thought it was terrible. Like so, I mean, first of all, the arena is cool. Okay? So this is the golf league with Tiger and Rory knows the arena is cool. Like I, it seems like a place I'd love to go. You hit into the screen and then it tells you where you are on a real green and you really putt it and really hit it out of the bunker. Like it looked awesome. But watching on TV I was like, how are people watching this? First of all, I didn't know what was going on like, they were. They were points and all this. I had no idea what was happening. But secondly, it's just. It's dudes hitting a ball into a screen and. And I just found it, like, within 10 minutes, I was bored to death. And then I looked online and, like, there were some, like, famous people saying it was good. But part of me wonders, are they being paid to say it's good? You know, I mean, they're kind of like some of the bar stool people. I sort of wonder, like, oh, they're. They're doing it for Tiger. Yeah, they did a whole two weeks doing that. They're definitely. They're definitely. So that's fine. I mean, look, if you're. If you're supposed to promote it, I get it, but I just. I just didn't. It's going to be a bust. Here's the thing. It's going to be a bust. It is. It's going to be a bus channel. I mean, it might be interesting for, like, a night. Yeah. But, like, that's the. Here's the problem with sports when we try to manufacture it. At the end of the day, the reason sports are industry interesting is there's something at stake, right? There's something at stake whether it's a tournament win or whether it's a game. There's something that, like, there are stakes when you're just playing and the New York Red Bulls are playing the Los Angeles boomers. Like, it's not. It's not a. I mean, who cares, right, Shannon? Like, who cares who wins? Do you have the boobers hoodie? First of all, I. I would. I would get it. Yes. Yeah. You know, I didn't realize they were going to have, like, an indoor putting green. I thought it was all going to be on a screen somehow, but it's still. I don't think it's going to last that long. It felt like it was like golf's version of the xfl. Like, at one point, the guy threw down a flag in front of his putt. Yeah. I didn't know what that meant. But who. But, like, on some level, I do think this is the problem with the. With the Live Tour. To me, all these guys are being paid to be there, and the tournaments have no history, so why should I care who wins? It doesn't matter. Whereas, like, for the Masters, it matters because there's history and there's all that. That's why I wondered if they had, like, if they come back, a bracket format. Like, you know, you. They. They seated it and he individually play somebody I can see. But do you care? You don't even know who's on whose team. No idea. Right? Like with the Ryder cup, the team thing works because it's the USA versus Europe. Right? Like, it's like, that's why it's important when made up, teams play each other. Why should I care? That's going to be their biggest problem with sports sometimes. Generational. You're born into a fandom. I tried to like the Live. I've watched it for a couple of years now. I still don't even know who the fireballs are. Why I'm supposed to like the fireball? Yeah. Like, I just don't think the team thing is going to work in golf. And I'm one of the few people I didn't get to watch last night. I'm actually excited to go and watch it. But I also realized this. It ain't going to work. I'm very skeptical of just guys hitting the ball in an arena. Do you want to watch Steph Curry just shoot threes in an arena every Tuesday night open in some gimmick game? No, you don't. I mean, the sport as it is there for sports to matter, there have to be stakes. At least to me now. I will say this. There are people who get on YouTube and just watch random dudes hit golf shots. You say he. So maybe that maybe the younger generation doesn't need stakes. They just want. And that's fine. Like, it doesn't have to be for me. But I was watching the basketball game, and I was like, this arena is the ugliest thing I've ever seen. And then I turn on the golf afterwards, and I'm like, maybe just stuff's just not for me anymore, Drew. Like, maybe it's just for. For a different generation. I just hope that when it fails, they leave it open for all of us to go pay a little bit. Now, I would love to look like it does look cool to go for sure. Maybe you're onto something because now kids watch other kids play video games. It's like, why don't you just play it yourself? You know, it's like they like watching other people do. But understand that either. I mean, again, like, you, it's. You can play a video game. Why am I watching him play a video game? You can go do it, and it's not. You don't even have to be good. Like, it's not like, I can't go play in the NFL. Like, I can't go recreate that. But if I'm watching someone play Madden, I can do the exact same thing they're doing. Not as well, but dude, I said, I got a 17 year old, they watch this stuff all the time. And you know, they have the commentary that goes along with it. The game. Like they're playing the game, you see them and they're commentating while they're playing the game against somebody. And it just, I don't know, people like it. All right, so Jimmy Carter, of course, died. So tomorrow is the national day of mourning. And I believe, according to my account, they have now had eight funerals for Jimmy Carter. Because every time I turn on the tv, there's another funeral on. But tomorrow is the official one, Right? Okay. And he is lying in state right now. Do you know what that means? Lenny's coffin? Well, he is in his coffin, but he's not Dracula. Yeah, he's not, he's not driving around, he's, he's in his cat, but he is like, people can go and walk by. Yeah. You know what I mean? That's what it means to lie in state. It's like you can go and pay your specs. Right. I've done that before. I did that for Ronald Reagan. I went and like stood in line and then walked and just stood there for a minute. But it is interesting. Like I did it because my judge said to me, if you all want to go do this, you can have the afternoon off. And so we were like, yes, we'll do that. And then when I got to the front, they paused it and I got to see Mikhail Gorbachev. He came and paid his respects. They stopped the line while I was there. That was kind of neat, it was kind of cool. But do you find it strange at all that people have off work tomorrow for the death of a president from 40 years ago? I gotta be honest. Yeah, I would say so. And like, don't like government officers have to keep their flags that have staff for like 30 days or something after a president dies? There's so many things, I mean that, that to me is that I understand more. But like the post office is closed tomorrow. Yeah. The banks are closed, the stock market's closed. All federal government is closed. I, I'm, I didn't realize. I'm a little surprised about that, you know, if it was the current president, I understand that. But like from a president from 40 years ago, it's. Isn't that a little strange? Do you think I was surprised? Actually, the way I found out about this was this morning. I was just looking on stuff and I was like, remember, stock markets closed tomorrow? I thought, why in the world of the stock market be closed on January 9th? I couldn't think of anything. Then read around and saw it. But, no, I had no idea that everything just completely shut down when we lose the president. Do you think that's weird at all? I mean, I guess we do it for all the presidents, right? Who is the last? No, we do. Well, we haven't had a president. We haven't had a president die in a long time, right? I mean, I guess not that long ago. Bush. Okay. Then before that, who was it? Was it. Was it Reagan? Reagan, probably Reagan. So in Reagan, I mean, I was in Washington. So this was 2004 was when Reagan died. Well, if that's what we did for the other presidents, then we. No, no, I'm not saying Jimmy Carter doesn't deserve it. I'm just saying just the idea that we close the government for a president from a long time ago is odd. I kind of like it. It's a show of respect. You know, he was our president, so I don't have a problem with it. All right. I'm surprised, Shannon. I'm not. Again, don't get me wrong. I'm not against it. I just. I just was. I'm just surprised we do it. Where is he lying in state at. Is it in Georgia somewhere? I think he's at the Capitol. At the Capitol. I think it's like when I saw Reagan, I think he was in the Capitol rotunda maybe, and they gave you this little thing that said, like, when you walked up, it had, like, his name and it had the presidential seal. I still have it somewhere. Yeah, it was a very. It was a cool little memento. I stood in line for, like, five hours. Oh, my. Just you saying I stood in line. Oh, it was. But I mean, again, when your boss says, you can have the day off if you do this, he also was like, you got to show me that you did it. So the three of us went and it was nice. I mean, I. There was something nice about it. And seeing the Gorbachev thing was really cool, but it's just I didn't realize that the world all, like, we got had a holiday for it. I guess that's just that protocol. And I this. All the living presidents will be there. We have President's Day. Did we do it for Nixon? Because, you know, he resigned. I don't know. Did we. Did they do it for Nixon? I don't remember. Yeah, I Don't remember either. Anyway, who's next? Let's go to Mark. Mark, Go ahead, Mark. Hey, good morning, Matt. I'm. Good morning. First time caller who and I live in Georgia and got to go to the game last night and it seemed like to me there wasn't as many fans from UK there and I presume that was because of all the snow and the ice that you all had. Yeah, it may have been. I'm not sure. I mean we. Part of it may also been we've already, you know, had a game down there this year and there have been some. A number of travel opportunities. But. Yeah, I don't really know what the answer would be. Yeah, I really, I enjoyed being there. It was, it was kind of hard to watch Kentucky play the way they did. But I want to make a comment about their stadium. I didn't like the floor at all. It seems dark. This is what it's me. We're on the same page. Yeah. But go ahead. Yeah. And then the other thing, that arena is half the size of Russ. Yeah. And we lived here three years. We're Mount Sterling. And when I went in there, we called the day before. I went online and got tickets that were great. They were real good tickets. And then when we went in, it was like everybody or so many people walked the aisles the whole game and didn't. Didn't watch the game like they do rub. Yeah. Well, I mean, you know, they. Okay, go ahead. The other thing is I found out they let the students in free. Yeah. And the UK game is the only game they fill that arena. Yeah. Well, that's all true. I appreciate the call. That's true of a lot of these schools. You know, a lot of the schools make it to where the UK game for some of them pays for the year. Right. I mean, and I think it's smart for these schools to have. Have smaller arenas. They're not going to fill up a size of RUP or. I mean, the game last night wasn't even sold out. Right. They still had some empty seats. So I think it's very smart for them to have those smaller arenas. Yeah. It got loud in there because it was smaller. I think their crowd was into it. You know, they showed the crowd a lot of times and they seem to be in the end of the game a little bit shows. Even with the change of era. Kentucky, it's the show. I mean, every road trip we're going to see, it's going to be the best crowd every single night this year. Exception. Maybe Auburn coming in, but you're getting every team's best effort when you're Kentucky. That's why Georgia, they won't have a crowd like that all year. And that's why it's also hard. I mean, it's harder for us in the sec. We will get, we get, we're going to get harder environments than anybody. You know, Auburn may this year because they're good. Tennessee may this year. But year in and year out, whether we're good or not, we're going to get the hardest environments. And that's just part of what you get when you sign up in Kentucky. You've lost two road games both times. They stormed the court this year. Yeah, and it'll probably continue to happen if they do. Are you worried about that? It's plausible. I don't think we will. I think we'll be better than that. But we're gonna have. If we play like we did last night, we'll go 500. If we play like we did against Florida, then I think we're looking at like 12 and 6. So we'll see which one we do. But it is plausible. It is, it is very plausible that that could happen. If you want to have a 12, 6 or 11 and, you know, 5 record in the SEC, you've got to win those games. Last night. You got to steal one on the road at places like Georgia. They didn't get it. Now they're gonna try to steal one at Mississippi State. Because remember, the next two games are A and M and Alabama at home. Not gimmes, not gimmes, not gimmes at all. Either one of them. I like looking at Ken Palm. I've brought it up many times where he predicts scores and records moving forward. I think he, he has them losing at Mississippi State and then winning both those home games by one point after that. So that's just showing you how tight the analytics think all these games are going to be. All these games are going to be like that and we will probably steal, we will steal a road game that we don't think we're going to win. Like, it wouldn't shock me if we stole a Tennessee or an Alabama, but then we might, we'll probably lose one of these home games that we don't think. You know, I mean, as frustrating as last night was because everything seemed to go wrong, they will have a night where they can't miss and they will be able to do anything about it. I think you're exactly right. It's wings day here at KS Bar Dollar Wings all day and night. One person writes. Matt, what do you think about Trump changing the name of the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America? Stop it. Yeah, Matt, what do you think? Just stop. Like, I can't, you know, you can't, you get. People can't prod me with that Shannon for four years, right? I'm more interested in him changing his hairstyle. His hair has changed. Well, so Let me on the first of all, the Gulf of the whole. Buy green land, invade Canada, all that. All that stupid. On the Gulf of America, Gulf of Mexico thing. The rest of the world is still going to call it the Gulf of Mexico, so whatever we do is irrelevant. But it did lead me to think of something. Who gets to decide what all those things are called? Like, who actually gets to. Like, let's say you just wanted to change the name of the Pacific Ocean to the Rhine Lemon Ocean. Who gets to decide that? Yeah, there's not an ocean headquarters. You can. There. You have a president, a vice president, where they decide the names of the ocean. So, like, with countries, your country gets to decide your name. So, like, a lot of times, like, you'll see countries in Africa or Asia, they change the name of their country, and you can do that. But the ocean, nobody owns the ocean and nobody owns the Gulf of Mexico. So who gets to decide. Soon, Elon Musk. But to this point, was it just. The original explorers named it and everyone just went with it, like, well, that's what they called it. So, like, I don't know. Let's just say. Because they probably will. Trump will just say, all right, now it's the Gulf of America. Who gets to decide? We don't have an Ocean Committee, do we? Yeah, I mean, I. The. I'm being honest with you. I don't know the answer to that question. I don't know who gets to decide what anything is named. I think he does. He's the president. Yeah, but he's not the president of the world, so he doesn't get to decide for the world what that. What, like, so we got to vote on it or what? I don't know. When you say vote on it, who's even voting? All the world leaders. Are you cool with me changing it to the Gulf of America? But I don't know they're gonna say no. So I don't really know what I. I honestly, it's really stupid. But then when I heard it, I was like, I don't know how you. I don't know who decides that. Yeah, half of this show loves the Gulf of Mexico. You go all the time. I. Which is why I'd be in favor of changing to the Gulf of America. Why? See, you're an example of why these things take off. You're like, yeah, let's change it to a Gulf of America. Like, for what purpose? I don't know. I'm in America just to make them like, I'm in America when I get in it. You're in America when you get in. So to me. But the people in Mexico, when they get in it, they're in me, they're in Mexico. Maybe we could cut it in half. There you go. You can't cut water in half. Border. You can't Water. See, this is. If you want a perfect example of why these idiotic things happen, all you got to do is look at Ryan Lemon. Yeah, in America, when I get in it. So why'd I call it the Gulf of America, but when you're in the Atlantic Ocean, you're in America. You just want to call it America, too. Well, Atlantic Ocean's okay. It's. It's. It's neutral. It doesn't refer. But it's not going to be neutral if you change it from Mexico to America. Well, it's. It's. It's. It's ours. We swim in it all the time. We mean, it's our. They swim in it, too. I. I like. I like the idea. I'd be in. You're an idiot. I love you, but you are an abs. I do. I love you, but you are an idiot. I like the logical. I'm in the Gulf, and when I put on my trunks and got my margarita, I was in America. So go to the Gulf of Mexico. In Mexico, don't you go to Cancun? Yeah, I'll call it the Gulf of Mexico when I'm there. Oh, okay. So you're calling it the Gulf of Mexico, then you're in Florida, but when you're in Florida, it's the Gulf of America. All right, why don't we call the Gulf of Florida Borders almost all. Why not? Why don't we. Why don't we call it the Gulf of Biloxi? I'm for that, too, senor. Frogs. Golf. There we go. Who's next? Kentucky surveyor. Kentucky surveyor. How are you? Go ahead. Hey, Matt. Doing good. How you guys doing? Doing good. What's up? Not much. I'm first time or longtime listener. First time caller. Who up? Got a. Got a couple points. And a couple points. And a question for you, if you don't mind. So, lifelong UK fan. Huge Pope fan. All in on Pope, but I'm worried, man. Like, long term, I think we're fine with Pope, but I don't know, like, we don't reciprocate physicality. We don't box out. And while part of that may be the players, I also feel like that could be coached out of them, don't you think? I Mean, these guys been playing a long time. I think, you know, I think sometimes you just are what you are. Right. Like you are what you are now. I mean, can we coach them to. To draw more fouls, driving the basket? Yeah, I guess. But you kind of are what you are. And. And there are some things like we're not athletic. And Drew, I don't think there's going to be much we can do about that. Right. You're just going to have to scheme around it because we're not athletic. We just saw the play where Butler had a wide open dunk and he almost missed it because he couldn't. He didn't get high enough in the air. Like we kind of are what we are, you know? Yeah, that was my thing. I'm not trying to make excuses or lower the standard of Kentucky, but I feel like in May this is kind of what we all thought was going to happen. Now, assuming you get Caleb Wilson and some of these recruits, there was very good. The athleticism and some problems we're mentioning in these games so far that will be answered as Pope goes on and builds rosters the way he wants. But yes, I think this current team, this is what it is. I think the biggest roster miss to this point was we thought Jackson Robinson was a dude, even maybe passed up on some other guys considering Kentucky. When you're going through all the portal stuff and he just hasn't gone to that next level, he needs to be at another gear because the roster was built around that. He needs to be a dude. You're exactly right. That's the one thing that, that I think can happen. That needs to happen. I don't think your athleticism is getting any better. Appreciate the call. I'm not even sure if your physicality is going to get better, but Jackson Robinson needs to be a dude. He's been it before. So we'll take a break. Be right back. Ksr. All right. So we had a guy here looking up. You said it was the International Hydro. International Hydro Hydrographic Organization is who decides the name. Name of international waters in the name of international. What are you surprised that they haven't been a movement to not name it the Indian Ocean? No, because there's a country over there called India. Yeah, that's different. Okay. So like, like people in India are not offend, offended by being called Indians? Because they are Indians. People call it the Guardian Ocean. Yeah. I mean that like that's an actual country is India Indians here, Native Americans. It's because we named them Indians. Because we thought we were in India, but we weren't. Does that make sense? Yeah, but in India they actually are called. So like the Indian Ocean is because of India. It's not that the word Indian is somehow in and of itself offensive. It's that we were calling people who were not Indian Indians. Yeah, but in India they actually are Indians. Okay, so we're not canceling the Indiana. The Indian Ocean is. Okay. Cuz it's in, it's outside of India. I think it's a good question. Everything related to Indians here, we. They want to change it. So. Cuz they're not Indians. Yeah, but over there they are. They love their ocean. They say good things about their ocean. You do make a good point. Let me give you one credit. Like water kind of all runs into each other. Yeah. So it is interesting to see when you like, when does the Gulf of Mexico become the Atlantic Ocean? When does the Caribbean Sea becomes. Because all the water ultimately runs into each. See, I had this issue. I had to go to my neighbor like, hey, this is weird. You keep mowing into my yard and I'm trying to grow mine a little longer. When they have territory issues, the oceans, where is there a fine line? How do they settle? I could be wrong. When I was on the D.C. circuit, we would have to deal occasionally with disputes in international waters. And I don't know what the amount is. I want to say it's like three miles maybe. I think every country, quote unquote, owns the water so many miles from its border. Say it's a mile, two miles. I don't know what it is. And then after that it's international waters and nobody owns it. Right. It's. It's like there are, there are books about this. It's lawlessness because it's out in the international waters. But you own or at least control the amount of water right around your border. I don't know what the amount is, but there's some amount out the border that you control. I'm not sure what it is, is that those buoys are out there for when we're out swimming. I don't know. I don't know how they did. But there is. Yeah. So. So I guess. Yeah. The patrol and mile within. It's like the Coast Guard. Yeah. They enforce so much out from your border. Yeah. But I don't know what that is. Very informative show. It is. Yeah. I mean, we don't really know anything, but that's okay. Reed shepherd had 49 points last night in his G League debut. 49 points. That's pretty good. The boy's gonna be all right. The G League isn't as negative as it used to be. It used to be when you were sent to the G League, it's like, well, you're just one stop from being overseas. There are a lot of examples of guys who have been high draft picks that have taken a played well and gone right back. I'm hoping that's the case for Reed. And he night one went very well on that path of just getting some rhythm going, get him some minutes, keep him sharp. Could be the shortest trip to the G League. I'm sure be called back up today. Probably after. I think he said after the game he would be. That the Rockets have told him he's coming back Sunday, that he was going to play like, I think they play like three games yesterday and like two more. I think maybe they had a bunch of games this week, so that's why they sent him and he would be back on with the Rockets on Sunday. He's kind of unique. Normally when you're the third pick, you're going to a crappy team and they're like, hey, we need you. The Rockets are much better than even they probably expected going this year. And he's just not getting the minutes to get these opportunities with that team. Did you see the dunk LeBron got at 40 years old? Haven't seen it yet. You need to see it. Mario tweeted it out. I mean, he's not as good as he was even a few years ago, but LeBron is 40 years old and he is built like a tank. Yeah. And he is 40 years old. It's kind of unbelievable that he is, is even as good as he is at 40. He's a freak, man. And I read this article this morning as I was preparing for the show about all the things that he does for his body. He gets a 30 minute massage every day. First of all, I would Love that. Yeah, 30 minutes every day. He like takes these like German pills that like rejuvenate your muscles and your fibers and all this. He only eats. He eats like a huge amount of lean protein, no fat, every day. He does all of these things and that's why he looks like that. Yeah, but could you do all of those things? No way. I could not see a chocolate chip cookie and I'm going for it. Didn't he sleep like 10 hours a day too or something? A crazy amount. Is that right? I don't know. He sleeps. He. He spends like an hour Every other day in, like, a hydrogenic chamber thing. Wow. Where, like, light rays come. It's just. It's crazy, the stuff he does. And that's probably why he looks like he does. At 40 years old, I feel like I'd be very good at the massage part. The rest of that. Step one. I'm out on that. That dunk last night, though. To be 40. Human beings aren't supposed to do that. No, he's 40. I'm 39. I don't know that I'll ever recover from shoveling my driveway yesterday. I'm serious. I think I am permanently injured from shoveling my driveway. I crawled to the couch and watched LeBron changing hands midair and windmill dunking on people. I said this on ESPN, and this is true. And everybody that's 40 knows this. There's something about when you turn 40, like, you just wake up and things just hurt. Like, you didn't even. You didn't even know you had an injury. And it just hurts. Like, I got up a few days ago and my left elbow just hurt. And I was like, why is this happening? Why did you do. I didn't do anything. It just hurt. And then you go to bed. Next day, it doesn't hurt. Three days later, hurting again. That's what happens for 40 for us. Shannon, are you felt that when you've gotten older? Only when I. Like the day after a wrestling match. Yeah. But other than that, I don't now. I get random pains. You know that, Ryan, you do, too. Getting out of bed, and it takes you 45 minutes to kind of creak and crack and get all stretched out. You can stand straight up again, but not LeBron. Not LeBron. LeBron. Looks like that we're not getting enough massages is what it is. Amen. Why don't you get that for us? Why don't we. You know what? More massages. That's really what it is. Who's up next? Garrett. Garrett, go ahead, Garrett. Matt. Yes. Hey, first time caller on geographic name changes. Yes. I. I lived in Melbourne beach when Kennedy was shot, and there was a big movement to change Cape Canaveral to Cape Kennedy. Okay. The Florida residents said, absolutely not. So that's when it became Kennedy Space Center. Gotcha. And it's still Cape Canaveral. Yeah. So, like, local towns get to decide their name? I think they do. Yeah, they do. Like, yeah, like. Like Middlesboro could change its name to, you know, Dick Tamersboro or something. If it wanted to, I would vote for it. They should. And Then the state on state property decides. And then Cape Canaveral is probably interesting because that's probably local property, sir, that the federal government leases. So that's probably why that was a little controversial. And Cape Canaveral was named by the Spanish. Okay. 500 years ago. Yeah. Well, that makes sense. Well, I appreciate. Appreciate the call. We're gonna have a lot of this coming, by the way. I'm gonna make you predict what other thing I wanted to say. Of course. Yeah. I'll tell you about the first UK basketball game I ever attended. Okay. We lived in Orlando, and my dad said, let's go for a ride. So we were going up 441north. Didn't say a word to me about anything. We got to Gainesville, he says, we'll go to best co game. So in 1963, I saw my first UK basketball game, and I watched Cotton Nash play. That's awesome. People. People love Cotton Nash. What was it? He was great. Hey, J.T. he loved. That was his favorite part. J.T. loved. I appreciate the call, sir. Yeah, he. He loved. He loved Jay. Well, we're talking about old timers. Did you see Mark Pope went to visit Vernon Hatton? Vernon's not doing too well, and Mark went to visit him, and I did not. Did he do that? That's very nice. Yep. Pope, you know, and to be fair, we've had a lot. Cal did that, too. Like those guys. Appreciating that history and honoring those old guys. I think that's. That's awesome. Definitely. We're focusing on a lot. I think Pope's doing more brand guys to practice. The wise become a bigger thing. But Cal did a good job of reaching out to past generations also. That's nice, though. Vernon Hatton. Where was Vernon Hatton from? Lafayette. Didn't you play? Is that where he plays from here? He played Lafayette. Huh. I have Vernon Hatton's autograph on a free Ennis T shirt. Nice little. Really? Yeah. I got all of the. His team to sign a free and his T shirt. You got Vernon Hatton to sign the free? Innis, they had a reunion at Malone's. That was that 1958 reunion. And I was their server, and I just happened to have a free Ennis T shirt in the car. And I told them, and they were obviously understanding Venice's story in that moment. And I went out and got it, and I have all those guys signify. That's kind of cool. Wow. I will tell you something. That's gonna happen. This is going to start happening. Soon there's gonna be a lot of movement to name things after Trump and Obama, and there's gonna be a lot of fights about that. I'm gonna make you that prediction. Yeah, I can see that coming. I think that's coming. I think there's gonna be a lot because, you know, we name things, we don't think about it a lot. I think when those two, there's gonna be a lot of movement to name things after those two. I think, Ryan, you'll see a lot of fights about that. So maybe instead of golf, America, we got a golf of Donald. Golf. Golf of Donald. Go away. Donald likes to play golf. Don't like to play golf. It's golf we're talking about Playoffs. Playoffs. If you're Rankin Tyler songs is this. It may be number one for me, to be honest. Is it number one for you? Yeah. I love this song. Really? Yeah. All right. What about you? It's. It's in the conversation. Top two. I like Lady Mae. Been playing that one a lot lately. Yeah, That's a good one. Yeah, man, I. It's tough. Most of mine are going to be from those early albums, you know, I'm gonna probably say just my favorite is probably follow you to Virgie. But like. But you take that whole Purgatory album, this song, White Tattoos, Born Again. Like, all those. They're great. The only thing I don't, you know, you. When you go to concerts now, you only get to hear a handful of those, right? And he plays the most famous ones. But, like, Charleston Girl is a song I like a lot. He doesn't play that as much, you know, but nevertheless, yeah, good stuff. Good call. 859-280-22-287. One person writes, Matt, I'm a Trump supporter and a conservative Republican. The only thing that's ever made me mad, you've ever said, however, was last night when you said only people over 60 have vanilla wafers in their house. I'm 42, and I have vanilla wafers in my house all the time. You need to take that back. What do you think? Are you gonna take it back? Well, I mean, it might not be true for him. I was just saying, like, I like vanilla wafers. Like them a lot, but I've never seen them in the house of someone that's not over 60 unless they were cooking a dish that needed them. Like. Like banana pudding, but like my grandpa, candy corn. Same way. You ever been in a young person's house with candy corn? No, but old people have candy corn, and it's good. Werther's originals. I've got them. But you're over 40. You said 60 earlier. Now you're. You buy worth. You buy, you buy worth. There's originals. My mom brought them for me, and I still see. There you go. Your mom bought them for you. And she's older than 60. But they're in my house. There's just certain food like that drew that. Like it, you know, you kind of graduate into it as you get older. I didn't hear you mention this, but I'm siding with you. That is an older food. Vanilla wafers. I can't think of a time I've been with the boys. It's like, pass me that box of flavors. Just have a parents of wafers. No, that's. That's. That's an elderly thing. That's an elderly thing. It's okay, though. It's. They're good. I like them. We all. We all like them. We just don't have them in our pantry to nibble on. At any point, one person writes. Matt, I know you're a Reds fan. Are you excited that they got Gavin Lux? Well, I'm gonna admit I'd never heard. I'd heard of him, like once couldn't have picked him out of a lineup. But they traded a guy had never heard of for him. So I consider that a win. It's a big win. If I've heard of the guy and the guy they traded, I haven't heard of Victory. And now you can call Hal McCoy and say how. Tell me about him. Like, what are we getting? Oh, how's my. How's my guy now? He's another second baseman, though. I mean, we have. You need a few more infielders. The Reds have like seven second baseman on the roster, so. Because McClain was missed last year with her, but he's still there. I like him a lot. They traded India, so. They do. They. They did get rid of him. I liked him too. He was a good player, so. But I do think that made the Reds a little bit better, so that's good. You always have a guy that is just a thorn in your side. You don't feel like that he has any potential there. There's one player, it seems every season where you bring him up on the show. Yeah, I'm kind of down on. I'm pretty down on Christian and Carson Strand. I've never seen him get a hit ever. So he's. He's the one I'm kind of down. So you're feeling better about Lux? He could fall into this game. No, no, he's going to be good. He played for the Dodgers last year. They won the World Series. Who's next? Glow, girl. Glow, girl. Hello. How are you? Oh, hi, Matt. I just have a simple question. I watch all the games. In fact, I go to all the home games and I listen to your show all the time. But can you explain what you mean when you say our guys Aren't athletic. I don't understand that. They're D1 players. I can. But let me. Before I do that. Why, if you don't mind me asking, why do you call yourself Glow Girl? Oh, because my name's Gloria. Oh, okay. Okay. I didn't know if you were like a Raves stuff. I used to be a camp nurse. Grow. With my kids growing up and they all. Okay, okay. The reason I say they're not athletic. I mean, clearly they're athletic enough to play D1 sports, but the reason I say they're not is they are not elite athletes. I mean, we've had elite athletes on this team over the years. We've seen what they look like, and that's not what this group is now. That's okay. Oakland beat us last year. They had no elite athletes and they beat us. But I don't think any of these guys are like elite athletes, which is why, you know, they struggle sometimes finishing at the rim. Do you. Do you agree? Do you agree with me? Yeah, I think it shows a lot defensively when they just don't have like a lateral quickness to stay in front of their man, too. Butler, even though he can be a little limited, he's good at that. But sometimes defensively, just see a guy blow right past them and they just don't have a quick step like the other side. I mean, it's. You can still be a really good basketball player, not be an elite athlete. Like maybe the best basketball player in the NBA is Jokic. And I'm not sure if he's an elite athlete. He's just unbelievably skilled. Our guys are skilled, but they're not elite athletes. And I think that we just have to remember that because it. It shows up sometimes. And that's what's scary about the sec. Every team is athletic. We may have them one of the bottom athletic teams in the whole conference. We do. Yeah. And babe, we're used to always having, like the best athletes. This is just the exact opposite. This is the most skilled and probably one of the better coached. I agree. This is like a high mid major team in terms of athleticism. Now in terms of skill, I think they're better than that. But in terms of athleticism, this is not a group of elite athletes. No, but there's a lot of teams with elite athletes that aren't good skill beat because they didn't game plan. They're not prepared, they're not skilled. There's just so many different. Watch five years of those. So many different ways to be good at basketball. You're exactly right. From athletic to a different brand. Yeah, I appreciate the call. I mean think about DJ Wagner, Justin Edwards and Aaron Bradshaw. All elite athletes, not very skilled. We have the exact opposite now. We have non elite athletes that are very skilled. Think about Willie Collie Stein, just a freak of an athlete. He developed skills over time and he was a wide receiver in high school. Really?
