This young man right here, it was his first game he went to. Nice, good game to see because Kentucky wins by 21, 82, 61. Big night for Amari Williams. First player since Paul Gasol in 2010 in the NBA in either college or the NBA to have at least 15 points in a game. Four blocks, not miss a field goal, not miss a free throw and no turnovers. I don't know who comes up with those with those stats, but he did it. And Colin Chandler, you're, what is it? Johnny Rocker, role player of the game. Johnny Rocker, role player of the game, came up seven points and looked comfortable. It was a good performance for him, too. You know, I'd like to say I had some inside knowledge that I knew he was going to do that, but kind of just pulled that one out of my rear. And it worked. And it worked. Pull more things out of your rear, Drew. I think it's, I think it'll help the team if we get, you know, it was one point game at halftime and then kind of a one of the better halves of the year for Kentucky in the second half, especially defensively. Yeah, Mari's perfect game was historically good and owe had 20. But my takeaway is hello, Colin Chandler. If he can do that, you know, most games almost, you can't even expect it all the time. But if he can continue to do that semi regularly, he just brings an athleticism that the other freshmen don't have. It's just a little different element to the game. So that was my biggest takeaway and favorite moment and I hope he had a little bit of a breakthrough there. I like the second half because a guy called in the post game show with stats but basically the, I don't remember the exact numbers but the overall theme was he played the best guys more. He didn't sub as much in the second half and I think you saw it in terms of performance. He got a group in there that were rolling, just went with it. Didn't feel the need to just constantly change for the sake of change. And I thought it really, really worked out, worked out well. And you got to see Kentucky. We won by 20 points in the second half, held Vanderbilt to only 21 points in the second half. I mean the defense was really something. We hadn't seen much this year and they really clamped down on Vandy. So they get a win. You know, we, you if you have thoughts about the game. 859-280-2287 but more importantly to me, they're now 7 and 6. They're in the conference. They're going to go play Alabama. I don't expect that to go well, but who knows. But I'm not, not expecting it. But then I think that you're certainly in the tournament. I think you could lose all the rest of the game and still be in the tournament. I think they, it, they now are set up to get a buy in the SEC tournament if they can kind of do what they're supposed to do and the fans get a little confidence after the win. Yeah, your resume is strong. You're in. You know, we, we said they needed to win that game last night, but they've got so many quad one wins. They're. They're in. Okay, now let's build on what we saw though last night. You're still playing shorthanded, but it seemed to be playing better because, you know, with Chandler playing point, Otega got to stay at the two. Bray got stay, you know, a lot of the three. Both those guys played well last night. It is clear that for Mark Pope there seems to be a definite desire to keep away at the 2. I think they think and you know, when you go to Pete, point guard 5, which is what they did last night, you clearly are wanting to keep away at the two and I think that's probably a good decision. As long as Perry, Chandler or Amari, if they're running the point, don't turn the ball over. Yeah. Away as good as he is, not a great ball handler and he hasn't practiced point guard. I mean, they didn't think they'd have to get down to their fifth option. So Perry, even in June, was running point guard in practice. That's why I think Pope went to him in the last game. That's kind of been his role. Oh, wait. I mean, there was a game. The last game for this one looked like he had Pam on his hands. He couldn't hold on to the basketball. So I just don't know that he'll ever be the option there. Look at you with the Pam. You cooked breakfast this morning? I guess it's fresh on my mind. Do I use a lot of Pam? Yeah, like when you're. No cooking in the kitchen. I don't think that's anything I've ever purchased in any form. I'll give me a bottle spray. I mean, I know what it is. You spray it and it like. Yeah. A little nonstick. Yeah. A little slippery. I just. I don't think I've ever gotten it. But he doesn't look like a comfortable ball handler. Outside of my breakfast reference there. Andrew Carr became more and more like the car. From the beginning of the year. I think I thought we'd been kind of at like 50 car. Maybe we got closer to 75%. Tom Pope clearly made a change in the second half and he was like, we are getting the ball inside because I think six of the first seven plays in the second half started with a post up by either Williams or Carr. And that was clearly a good decision. No doubt they went to that the second half because they take size advantage that they had with Amari and Carr down there. You know, going to the season, Drew and I both thought Carr would maybe our mvp. I think this back injury is really setting back, but you're right. Seeing some signs and maybe he's getting closer and closer to being back to full strength. Yeah, I. I was very impressed with how he. With how he played. Yeah, I mean, I just, I thought I. I love the switch to go into the post. I mean, this is. That is not what they thought they would be doing. I can guarantee you are in the early year. They didn't think we're going to be posting teams and going one on one in the post. But you know what? It worked. One of the signs of a coach is you adjust to what your team needs in a given moment. And I think they were able to do that. Yeah. And still almost got their 30 threes. It was like we're either posting up or taking a good three. There was a moment in the second half and I can't even remember what they got out of it. He might have gotten fouled, but Andrew Carr got triple teamed. And I thought, if they're triple teaming Andrew Carr, that's how we want to play. Because that leaves open a lot of shooters around the perimeter. So that was a moment said I remember. I think I got so excited that they even triple teamed him. I don't even know what happened next, but if he's drawing that, that changes the offense so we get the win. There were some interesting things, I think that happened. First of all, they had two babies directly behind the bench. Almost like a smack in your face. Not only did you say baby shouldn't go, they decided to put two on the front row. I am convinced. Convinced that was either a plant or AI because I don't think no way that would happen. But couple hours. I don't think I've ever seen two babies in the front row. And then of all the games to have it, then I thought it was great. And not only two babies, perfectly well behaved babies. Cameras saw them for a second, but the cameras caught them a lot. And every time you see them, they were just kind of just sitting there like they were watching the game. So had to be AI ticket. Hope they paid. That's what I was gonna say. Did they have to pay for the ticket? Because I didn't see empty seats next to them. Correct. So that says to me that maybe. Shannon, there's a. If you're rich enough to sit in the front row exception. Because I saw. I. I saw people sitting on either side of them. So I kind of wonder if they had a ticket. Drew, I think we should have sent someone down there to make sure. Those are Pope seats. That's usually where Leanne sits. So I'm going to be careful. That could be a Pope relative. I don't want to. I want him in. I just want to know, do they have if we're going to do the ticket policy? Well, I'm all in on. They don't need a ticket. That's why. Ryan, you acknowledged they were well behaved. Does that change your stance at all? Yeah. Are you going to. With Mark Pope's presumably his family. Do you want to say they're allowed into the game? I say my. My general thoughts are maybe you should not take your babies to the games. Get a babysitter enjoying down. Listen to this guy. He and Billy don't know when to stop, do they? They just keep. They just keep going. And then they wonder why they have difficulties. They just. They. They want. They will double down. Double down. I got a lot of support though, from this, this hot take yesterday on from social media. Who. Well. Oh, well, there you go. If it was on Twitter, that's that. We've seen that to be rational discussion. I think so, yeah. You know, I'm waiting now for Elon, maybe make it a national thing. No, no, he's gonna disagree. He lets his children go up his nose in the Oval Office. So I don't. I don't think he's gonna agree with you. But we need a baby night. Let's go all the way in. Like, encourage bringing babies. Yeah, I won't be here the night we do that here. I. I'll be. I'll let Brian handle. Now if UK ends up having like, you know, sometimes they have a baby race at halftime where they get the babies and line them up at halftime and see that. Do you like those? I think it's funny. But if they end up doing that, then we know that's just. They're just rubbing it in my face. So Kentucky gets the victory. You got Alabama on Saturday. Alabama lost last night to Missouri, by the way. Missouri is 9 and 4 in conference and we're the only ranked team they still have left to play. Like, really, like they have a chance to go to finish like second in the sec, which is I, you know, no offense. Listen, I love Pope getting all his credit and Kelsey, there's a lot of people that deserve. But I, to me, Dennis Gates has got to be the coach of the year, right? He went 0:18 last year in the SEC and they are with a lot of the same guys. They're nine and four and they ran Alabama last night. I watched that game after 12 nothing in two minutes. Just like that. They got guys, they scored 110 points last night. They are really, really good. They're. They're, you know, don't look now, but yeah, Missouri may be the hottest team in the conference right now, so. But we play Alabama now. They're coming off two double digit losses in a row to Auburn and Missouri. Do you give us any chance Saturday? Let's assume Butler and Robinson don't play. Oh, yeah. I haven't been nearly down as like 90% of. I did not at one moment sweat the Vandy game. I was very confident. Texas, it fell apart at the end, but they should have won that one. I just think this is a very good team, even without the injuries. Now Alabama will be favored and I will pick Alabama to win. But I give Kentucky probably a one out of three, 25%, one out of four. That neighborhood. Wow. That's. We one out of three. You think we play that game three times? We win one? Yeah, I think so. Maybe 25 to 30% in that ballpark. That's very, that's very optimistic. I like that. I just, I haven't, I know a lot of fans want to jump off. I, maybe I'm looking through blue glasses. I haven't been really down at any point. I recognize the roster and I'm impressed by what they've been able to do with all those guys out. You, would you, would you go one out of three? No, I don't know if I'd go that high. I was thinking more closer to like 15% because I think Alabama is going to be red hot mad they lost to Auburn and then just lost on the road at Missouri. They're going to come in back home. I mean if we were to beat them, I think they fall to fifth in the sec. Alabama, Alabama team that almost was ranked number one this week. I mean, so there's a, you know, I, it would be a huge win if we won. Now add, I wish they had won last night. I think coming off a loss makes it even harder. Yeah. So maybe one out of four instead of my one out of three after losing. What are you putting them after? A bad low. Just because I think at Alabama you have to score at least 90 points. You have to. There's no way you're not going to beat Alabama scoring less than 90. And I just don't know if you add up our roster, how we get to 90 with the group we have. With the group we have. Because I mean, I think to get to 90 when we were scoring 90, we had to have 10 to 15 from, from Butler and 20 from Robinson. So you take that out. Where am I getting those other points? That's my only thing. And we, when Alabama was here, Kentucky played really well that day. Alabama just a better team that day. There they are a better team overall. So yeah, I think we're running into a hornet's nest on Saturday. But also I think tomorrow is the epitome of a free game. It is a free Saturday. If we win, that's great. But if we lose, it won't cost us in the seating, it won't hurt us in anything. Like it's, it's, it's really a free game and then you end up with a four game stretch to finish the year at Oklahoma, Auburn at home, LSU at home at Missouri, I think if you go 2 and 2, you're great. If you could somehow go 3 and 1, you're looking at a 3 seed in the NCAA tournament. So, I mean, I, I. Last night was so important, and now that they've won, Ryan, I feel better about it. Yeah, I was with you. With you. I felt like they just, you know, these last six games just split them. Win three, lose three. Okay. You got the one win. You should get, get these other wins and you're still sitting pretty good. The one LSU coming here, that's the last. It won't knock you out of any tournaments, but that'll bad loss. I do think Peter Burns should be punished. No, he should. He needs an award for bringing me up during the game. I think that was, you know, you can't bring people up when they don't have a chance, Shannon, to fight back. Here's your chance right now. So if you got something you want to say to people. That was a national broadcast. So a guy found the picture of me that we've seen before, which is me, and like, I think I figured it was the fall of 2007 standing with Rob Goodell. And I'm wearing a little listen button. Yeah, it's a little button that says Beat Vandy. Love that. We had to have Beat Vandy buttons. Like, how great is that Buttons. I had a Beat Vandy button and I had it on. And the hair, I mean, I was overweight, cherubic. That was what I was described as, cherubic. I had a mullet that was not, not good on, on many forms and that. And then Peter Burns made fun of it during the thing during the halftime show. We were all watching said Nebraska is plain as bad as Matt Jones's hair looked 10 years ago. First of all, Peter, that was 15 plus years ago. More than 15. I don't think I knew you then. And I've been with KSR 15 years. It's going close to 20. That was sports Mob with Matt and Rob Days. That's how long I would have said something to you. If it's 10 years ago, would you have said something? Yes. Okay. Well, didn't that look kind of change the course of your career? Well, I'll mention a little bit. What'd you say? I said, I have the clip if we need to hear it again. Yeah, we'll play the clip and we'll take your calls. 859-280-2287. We're here at the KS Bar Grill. Come join us. Played 31 minutes, took six shots. Yes, but they were on him like glue. I mean he, he, he, he maybe had one or two he could have taken that he didn't take. But they, I mean they clearly their, their game plan was Kobe Bray is not going to beat us. Like we're not going to lose. So if somebody else does, I mean they probably didn't think Colin Chandler was going to do what he did. Probably don't think Amari Williams is going to score, what, 17, 17 and not miss a field goal. But they were not going to let Kobe Braya beat. I love the fact that he came out and took the first shot. I mean, you know, he's got to do that. He's got to be a little selfish and look for his shot. And I really tried to watch him last night, you know there when he's coming off his screen, he's trying to get open. They're like hanging on him. They're on him like they're not, they do not. They would sag off every other player including almanor, who was 3 for 4. But they were not leaving Kobe Braya. Yeah, Pope mentioned that in a post game show either after Texas or the one before that someone asked, you know, why didn't Kobe getting open? And he basically said they are not calling this stuff off the ball. I mean they're holding, they're grabbing, they're doing everything they can to keep him from getting one of the things. Again, this is good coaching by Pope. He would when he got the ball in the block to Carr and Williams and isolate him, he would put Kobe Braya on that side and then he would take everyone else to the offside. So the defender had a choice. Either go one on one with Williams and Carr or double down from Braya but then leave Bray wide open and they just let him go one on one and then we Were able to finish. So it worked out. And our guy Jacob has a story up. Kentucky is 10. And oh, when Brea has 10 points, and they're 10. And, oh, when he has three threes. So to the point, we keep bringing up no pressure. Kobe Braya. But if you'd like to score 10 points, win or lose, based on you. All right, so this is the clip of. Of. Of Peter Barnes being, you know, a jerk last night on the halftime show. Go ahead. Welcome back to SEC halftime report. All these teams right now are on the bubble. SMU looking good. VCU looking good. North Carolina looking good. Nebraska, right now. They're on the bow. They look worse than Matt Jones's hairstyle about 10 years ago. 70 to 46. Have you seen that thing? It's trending on Twitter right now. I'm clicking. I want to. It would be monstrous for. Have you seen that thing? Have you seen that thing? Like, it's a weave or something, Like Patrick Young. Patrick Young. And is that Pat Bradley or what? What's his name? Yeah, Pat Bradley. Just sitting there laughing in the background. Patrick Young. Don't even know who. I've said nice things about those two guys. The one guy goes, I don't think I want to see it. I don't think I want to see it. I was watching halftime, and I thought I heard it. I thought, did they just say Matt Jones had to rewind? Let's do again. He got you. Peter burned you. There was the one that posted it. Now, to your point. That was the hair I had when my mom saw me on ESPN and said, if you're gonna be on television, you need to get a haircut. And I didn't like. This was. As I was walking out of my first ever ESPN appearance, I was so excited to call my mom and tell her. And that was her answer. And I got really frustrated at her. I was like, I was just on espn. That's what you're gonna say. And she was like, I'm just trying to help. I'm always gonna be mom. She was right. And it changed everything. It took me a while. And then. Did you immediately get it cut after that? I mean, I had some pride. I was gonna keep it for a little while, but it's. It's. You know, you had. You start looking in the mirror and you go, that's the look. I remember when we first met, when you started coming to the tubby news conferences way back in the day. Hair shirt, tail hanging out, stuff hanging out of your backpack, Big floppy coat on yeah, well, you know, we had a person texting, text machine and say, how many people can say they look better at 46 than they did at 29? True. That is true. Yeah. But it also isn't a good testament for 29 that that's the case. A lot of people peak too early in life. You're still climbing that hill, buddy. That's right. That's right. I peaked out. I did not peek too early. I think that picture was very close. Oh, you had 60. Look out. Yeah, you're gonna be Clooney, the hottest 65 year old in the world. All right, so. 859-280-2287. How was the crowd last night? It was good. It wasn't all the way. All the way full. Always looked at the two end zones to see if those get full. It wasn't all the way to the top, but I think there's something about these snow games. People that go, they feel like they earned it. So once they're inside and beat the weather and you know, a lot of people are getting tickets that other people didn't want, getting them on the secondary market. The. It was a very excited crowd. Just. I wouldn't say it's not in the category of some of the others we've had this year, but still very good. I had a person trying to climb to the game, fall down my yard and slide. Oh, no. I heard a. And I looked and there was somebody at the bottom of the hill and I could trace through the snow. Yeah. Where they had slid all because some of these people, by the way, don't cut through my yard. There are people who cut through my yard and one of them ended up absolutely flying down the hill. You know, maybe he should have known not to climb a hill covered with snow and wet snow and ice during. Oh, you know, when it's 15 degrees outside. Did you see what happened at the North Carolina game? I think I saw this. So North Carolina had a snowstorm like leading into the game into like. And so, you know, you think we don't handle snow well, they're here. They really don't handle it well there. And it was in North Carolina, North Carolina state. So I guess a ton of people just weren't going to go. Plus they've been having bad attendance this year. So they made the decision, they just opened up the building and they said if you can come, if you can walk here, you can come in. They still, by the way, didn't even come close to filling the building. But what they ended up with was a game of pretty much all students. Yeah. So I mean the court was surrounded by students and then the president got on the mic and said, hey, thank you all very much for coming. Got some news for you. No class tomorrow and the place just out. And they had probably their best atmosphere in a decade. Beat NC State by 30 because of the way they did. We've talked about Chapel Hill. That is like it's not a good environment for college basketball. They need to do something like that. They may have stumbled on something where they realize, hey, we can make this a special place to play by putting the students around the court. And even though they won big with that was probably the loudest pop of the night was the no class. Yeah. So that was kind of. If you watch that, that's kind of a cool thing. Who's up first? Shannon. Let's go to David. David, go ahead, David. Hey, good morning, guys. Thanks for taking my call. I loved. I had to watch the game last night, but I loved how on the SEC network you can actually hear the crowd a little bit better now. They even had a little segment on the environment and I think they had rep arena at second, which was frustrating, but I'll take that, I guess. I think that's fair though. I think if it was it were we second to Auburn? Yeah, I think that's fair, to be honest. If you're just talking about in game environment. Sure. I was actually calling in. I've been wanting to call in for a while and it usually can't because we're in school or we got 30 seconds. Real quick. I was just gonna say Jay Williams, when he was speaking to you, asked if he thought you represented BBN and you kind of dodged that. I think you should have answered yes, absolutely. How many weeks go by without multiple people calling saying first time, long time. Like this is a show where BBN calls in constantly and. And I think you can take heart in the quality of what you guys do. That. Yes, I think it is an accurate representative representation of who we are. Well, I appreciate the call. I think this show most certainly represents bbn. Does Matt Jones in particular. On some things I think it's true. On other things, I probably don't. But the show without question, TJ Smith, personal injury attorney. Call tj. He'll make him pay. Now more of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage. Here's Matt Jones. Underappreciated hate Junior song here. Shannon. Right. Charlie Daniels band. Right. Same thing. Appreciated. That's how underappreciated. So underappreciated I thought it was HANK jr. You're trying to give it to somebody else. Charlie Daniels. Everybody knows Devil Went down to Georgia, but what other songs does he have? Long hair, country boy. Well, you got this one, which I thought was Hank Williams Jr. So who else? Anything else. I mean, if you get a Devil Went down to Georgia, you don't really need anything else. Like, that's a legendary song. I'm sure there's maybe one other one, but I. I can't think of it. One in like the 90s that became a hit, but I can't remember what it is. All right, let's talk about a couple things here. Hockey tonight. We don't talk a lot of hockey on this show. Unless I'm saying my Carolina Hurricanes. But tonight, maybe the biggest hockey game in who knows how long for people care in USA and Canada. I'm not sure when's the last time. I mean, first of all, are you going to watch? I want to watch just the beginning of it. See if they fight like they did the other day. But you don't want to know if we win. I mean, this is for the championship of whatever this thing is that we're playing in. Yeah, I want to see who won, but I don't think I want to sit there and watch the whole game. Whole thing. See, I'm. I bet you it's going to be a great crowd. I mean, it's in Boston, which is a hockey town. The. The Canada guys seem to be taking this unbelievably seriously. Like, they're taking this as, you know, Trump wants us to be the 51st state. We're going to show them we're better. The US is clearly wants to fight. We. We started three fights in the last game, so clearly we want to fight. Like, I think it's going to be awesome. Are you gonna watch? I'm absolutely gonna watch. And that's coming from someone who. I couldn't tell you the last time I've watched hockey. Maybe I. I've never sat down and turned my TV on and watch hockey. But tonight I'll make sure. What? 8:00 ABC, I think 8:00 ESPN. ESPN. 8:00 ESPN. I think it's gonna be great. I'm gonna watch it. Do you think we boo the Canadian national anthem? We should. I don't know, we boo the anthem, but yeah, they booed our. Yeah, we can boo them. Hockey fans are a little different, so. I'll bet they do. I'll be Boone from My couch. I think you boo. You boo the anth. I mean, they booed like it's a song to him. Give it back. I mean, like, it's fun. It's, it's, it's like sports hate is not the same. Like if, if they were burying a Canadian soldier and you boot it, then you'd be awful. But it's a sporting event and it's like wrestling. It's a sporting event. When the Mountie came out with this Canadian flag, you boo. That doesn't mean you hate Canada. So I, I think it's all right. Especially since they booed first. You know, if we were the first to boo, maybe there's a debate, but we owe them a boo. I didn't even put syrup on my pancakes this morning. All out on Canada. I'm not getting rid of sir. I think we can have whatever wars with maple syrup is. It is good stuff. It is really good. We're not, we're not getting rid to serve, but. Yeah, I'm watching. I think it's gonna be exciting. It's been good for the sport because when else do we, the. The country kind of pay attention to hockey? Not very often. Very rarely does the whole country care about an event. Like they're gonna care tonight. So it's the Four Nations Face Off Championship, which doesn't seem like a real thing, but we're gonna do it. Now. Let me give you the. The schedule in UK sports coming up the next four days. There's something every night. Okay, so tonight, UK women play Missouri at 7:30. This is the last game against an unranked team. Kentucky plays. They finish with Tennessee, LSU and South Carolina. That's tough. So they finished with quite a run. So they're going to play Missouri. Then Friday night, LSU women's gymnastics comes to Lexington. The return of Livy Dunn to Lexington at historic Memorial Coliseum. Last time she was here, they had to have security and the line was out the door to get into that event. I would assume. I mean, this is. That. Was it rough? I would assume it's going to be even more here this time. Right. Since it's at Memorial. Does she still. She still does it, right? Yeah. No, does she still. Yeah, she's still. She's still in it. Yeah. Okay. I mean, I'm not sitting down and watching LSU's matches, but I'm pretty. Pretty sure. Yeah. Yeah. And then Saturday, of course, we play Alabama and basketball. Then Sunday, Kentucky plays. Is it lsu? Who do we play Sunday in basketball? Lsu. I think the LSU is The first of the three biggies Sunday is lsu. Yeah. Here in Lexington. So in Lexington you've got two. We've got the road game against Missouri women. We got Livy Dunn tomorrow and LSU gymnastics and on our team Alabama Saturday and LSU basketball with Kim Mulkey and whatever she decides to wear on Sunday. And if you want to fill in the spots at home, baseballs away at Belmont and softball is also a way. But you can watch those two on sec. So a lot of stuff we're going to have. Just so you know the trivia tonight at the bar. We will have both the hockey and the women's basketball game on as well. And then for those of you going to either the gymnastics or the women's basketball this weekend we'll have, we'll be open here before and after. I would suggest to you parking at Memorial has become absolutely impossible. I mean like not just impossible, uber impossible. Yeah, just park in our lot. I'm just telling you like it's a walk but it's going to be better you try to park somewhere else. You're just going to be walking just as far through neighborhoods. Yeah. After a game you look, there are people walking blocks and blocks and blocks to get to the car because there is no park. You might as well just park here. I mean honestly, it's as easy as anything else. Who's up next? Jordan. Jordan. Go ahead. Jordan. Hey man. I just wanted to get your guys thoughts on the roster maybe that we're looking at next year. So as far as like thinking probably a Kaden Lewis and Jasper is going to be our starting guards. But what do you think the chances are? Always back. And then also do you think that our best bet is probably to go for two transfers as far as our bigs in the portal because yeah, we're not. I would bet you a lot of money our starting guards are not too freshmen. I'm, I'm just, you know, I think Jasper will start. I'd be very surprised if Kaden Lewis starts the way Mark Pope's system is and how hard it is to run. We're not starting two freshmen in the backcourt. So you know, I, I don't know what they'll do if owe comes back. I'm certain he's starting. Yeah, right. And if Kirk comes back. I don't think, I don't know if he'll start though. He didn't. I mean I, I maybe, yeah, maybe. But I would be. I could see Jasper and away starting. Appreciate the call. If we get away back do you think Garrison is back? Actually wrote a little bit about this on the board last night. I don't think even though he has potential to make a big jump and can be the player Pope wants him to be, I think it would be a little too risky to go in with just him and Marino, I don't think. Because if he doesn't make a jump, then I think you're in trouble. He's been disappointing, in my opinion. I think they have to go out and get a big and a point guard because I don't think he's improved a lot during the year. And I think the biggest drop offs this team happens is when Amari's out and get Garrison's in, which is unfortunate, but I think that he. I think that's, you know, I think that's. I think it's just true. I think that the biggest drop off that takes place for our team is Amari and Garrison out. Garrison in Amario. I think Garrison comes back next year and he's a big player. But I think Drew's right. I think they go get another big in the transfer portal. A big, you know, fifth year guy that can come in and maybe push people around a little bit because Malachi and Brandon's not that kind of guy. There's some. Some reports, by the way, that Nate Amit that we may now have the largest nil offer. And so maybe you could end up with him if you have four freshmen. Maybe Pope's going to end up playing more freshmen than we think. And then we don't know. I assume Noah and Perry will be back. I kind of thought Chandler wouldn't, but then after last night, maybe will. I don't know. Yeah, those three. I mean, you think the Kentucky boys would want to stay here? Who knows about Chandler? But I think. I still think he has to go out and get a guard with experience that can play a little defense. I just. I know we all like Kerr. I don't see a world. I don't know where you put Kerr. I don't know where he would go. I don't either. I don't expect him on the team next year. I'll just say that. You know what? I. I'm interesting you say that. I, I don't either. He's also a guy who is transferred three times since you've had nil. He could probably go get a starting role somewhere. I was told to watch a former coach of ours with Kurt. Really? Yeah, that Joel Justice. I was told to watch the. The guy up in New York City. That's great because you know Pope has said many times he's tried to get Kerr like three times and finally got him. I think he, I think he'd like. I don't. I think he's like to hand it over to him next year. But you need defense. Kerr is good with someone that can guard like a Lamont and they don't have a Lamont with the freshman watch. Just watch the Johnny's. Watch the Johnny's. Watch the Johnnies. All the Johnny's. What'd you think? What other former koshers in New York did you think? I didn't hear New York. I thought you talking about Cal Perry. I was talking about like the coach at Fairfield or something. Why not? Caliper would not want Kirk. No Cal party would know. By the way, did you see what happened last well with Z last night? Yeah, I did. What happened? Z over 10. He hits any of those, they might win the game. Let's, let's hold on because I got to talk about. There was a cow freaking out moment on Z. That was it took my memory back. That's right, this is the one they I think he put this out. Maybe he put it out in 70s too, but there was a version in the 90s and I remember that 90s country, you know that's my thing. Dude. I never doubt you when you say and you come up with the most obscure artist of a song I've ever heard of and it's so terrible now and I loved it then. 8, 592-80-2287. So real quick, Cal had Big Z. He went over 10 from the field last night, over nine from threes. My man missed nine threes, including he took the two shots at the end. They were down three. He took the shot to tie, missed it, then they were down six. He took a three and air balled it. Cal lost his mind at Big Z at one point when he didn't box out on a rebound. I mean, Cal called time out. I thought he was going to explode. It was not Big Z's finest moment last night. And he's been so good for them lately. I think going into that game he was like 11 for 17 in the, in the three games before it. And he just kept missing after miss after miss. And I gotta admit, I watched cows press conference. I haven't done that much this year. Just to hear if he'd say, I don't need you to make them all. You just can't miss them all. I thought it was coming, but he left me hanging there. Had a hundred dollar bet, right? They almost won at Auburn. They lost. That won't hurt them. But they got a couple. They got a decently easy schedule coming up, but they're gonna probably have to win like three of the five games to, to get in. Shannon, I just saw that Delta. All right, so this is an interesting question. Delta Airlines is offering every person that was on that flight that flipped over, they're offering them $30,000, no questions asked. They don't even have to waive their rights to other lawsuits, which really surprises me. I mean that's, it's kind of like people are. People are crushing Delta online, saying they're offering them a measly $30,000 if they're really not making them waive their right to other claims. I actually think it's kind of a nice thing to do, as crazy as that sounds. Because if you can, by the way, I don't think lawsuits against. I don't think it'll work for reasons that are beyond the. But just off Shannon, I actually think offering the $30,000, if I'm correct, that it's no strings attached is not a bad thing. Not bad. It's kind of a please don't sue us, here's some money and take this and be happy. But you could still sue them, right? Right. But I think that's in their mind. Like if we give them 30 grand, they'll be less likely to sue us because of that. So I'm sure they'll still have Some lawsuits. Yeah. I don't think they'll win the lawsuits for, again, a variety of reasons that are too long for this. This show. But I actually see these headlines like, oh, Delta's meager 30,000. I mean, think about there were 190 people on the flight, right? So that's going to be 3 mil, what, $6 million that they're going to end up paying. I know that's not a ton of money, but they don't have to give them anything. So I don't know. Why wouldn't you go ahead and take it if you can still sue later? The people. There's some people that, like, are in the hospital. They got hurt, seriously hurt. I'm sure that's a different story. Well, now they might be able to sue people who have actual damages. They actually might have a claim. I think it's gonna be really hard for people that were just scared. I think that's just gonna be a hard lawsuit. But I. But the people in the hospital, that might be a little different. Go ahead. I'm gonna need a little money for my lawsuit. For throwing Billy's phone down the Runway and breaking his nose as we're getting off the plane. That will cost me a little bit. Drew, not one person in this bar last night was on Billy side. I mean, people just kept coming up to me going, I would punch Billy right in his face. Like, Billy had the. Maybe the most unpopular take of all time yesterday. So with my 30,000, give me out of jail and cover those legal fees, too, because I'm gonna need a lot of money for that also. I'd have a lot going on in that situation. Yeah. Billy. Shannon, is Billy getting a little. I heard him barking at you today. Like, what's happening with him? I mean, I just asked maybe. So I asked him a simple question. I said, how much money do you think you would need to have in your bank account to where you could just retire and go on vacation the rest of your life? Yeah. And his answer was, well, you know, I'm a lot younger than you. You're a lot closer to Social Security than I am. You'll be dead before me. I'm going. Good grief. Dude, that wasn't the question. Wow, that seems like unnecessary shot at you right there. Okay. You're killing me off already. Damn. Yeah. Okay. That is a good question, though. I like that topic. How much money? If I offered you a certain amount of money to never do anything again, what would that money be? You can't ever work again. You just have to live off what I give you for the rest of your life. What would you take? I mean, a million sounds good, but a million is not what it used to be, man. It won't go. I'm 58 years old. I only got, you know, 20 years left. A million probably do me pretty good. You think you're gonna die in 20 years? I mean, that's probably average. How much do you think? I like that guy right there. Went, yeah, he probably is. That was like. That was a little harsh. Yeah, but I mean, all right, let's say you live 20 years. Divide 20 by a million. Oh, I can't do long math. Long math? Yeah. That's not a phrase. Long math is not a thing. Long division. Long division. Yeah, long division. Long math. It's 50,000 a year. Now, of course, you could invest and all that, so, I mean, there's that, but like, 50,000 a year, I can live on that easy. You got cinder side of college. And by the way, 50,000 in 20 years is not going to be what it is today. If you give me a million, though, I'm hanging it up like I'm good. You're hanging it up? I'm retiring. Done. It's your buyout. He's tapping out. Yeah. Interesting. Well, what about you? What's your amount? More than that, if. But I'm also. I'm 12 years younger than you are and might want a child or a person in my. In my life at some point, a woman. So. You know, Brian's also not helping himself when it comes to negotiating his salary. He says he's going 50 grand. Yeah, that's right. Who's up next? Levi. Levi. Go ahead, Levi. Hey, Matt, I know you touched on it last night, but I just wanted to hear your thoughts about Amari Williams on the sec. Now post game talking about. Oh, that was great. I'm glad you brought that up. So Amari Williams, you know that he doesn't say a lot, but I'm really. I think it's very cool that he went on the post game with the SEC network and he brought up the flooding in Eastern Kentucky. I mean, he's British, right? So, like, he. His connection here is not the strongest. He just got here a few months ago, but to have the forethought to do that, to talk about, you know, Heather from Pikeville called the show last night, who. And her house is flooded. And. And Daryl from Pikeville, that calls. That you all have heard for many years, his house is flooded. I mean, we have a lot of people we know. And I thought Amari bringing that up. Drew was just a really classy thing for a young man to think about in that scenario, definitely. He just had one of his best games of the year. I'm sure basketball is really on his mind at that point, but he still took the time to mention that, you know, I'm sure he's been to Eastern Kentucky a couple times, but anyone on the team might feel the least connection being from Nottingham, England. So it was very cool of him to say that and just shows that the team really is thinking and really cares about this state. You know, he's on a heater. He got the triple double, hit a three pointer, had the perfect game last night. And for him to step up in that platform and recognize what's going on in our state for somebody that does, you know, he's not from here, as you guys said, hasn't been here very long. I think it speaks very, very highly of his character. Yeah, I did, too. I'm glad you brought that up, sir. Levi, I appreciate it. Who's up next? Let's go to Sean. Sean, go ahead, Sean. Hey, Matt. Glad to see you got some Tony Randall aspirations about having children late in life. I'm not that late in life. I'm, you know, come on. It's not like I'm Robert De Niro having a kid at 83. Like, I'm still. I'm still. It's still Perkin. I mean, we can still do it. Oh, it's too much. I don't know what that means. That's not what I meant. I didn't mean. What did you. We don't need to know about your. Go ahead. It just. All right, so when Pope first took the job, there was some talk about, you know, we might get to see some of that Patino era style defense. My question is, do you think with his offensive style that it's going to be hard to find players that plays his offensive style and still be able to get that? Yeah, maybe. I mean, maybe. But it depends. I mean, I appreciate the call. So, like, if he gets elite athletes, Drew, then he can get elite athletes to play offense and defense like Patino did. But let's go back to the early Patino teams. They weren't good defensively. We gave up huge amounts of points. We just had to score a lot of points. When he gets the athletes, I think he'll have guys who can do both. Yeah. And I think that's why he's got to get a good guard in the portal and another big guy that can defend because defense needs to be a priority. Yeah, we'll take a break, come back hour number two ksr.
