Welcome to hour two of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage. Now here's Matt Jones.
Unknown Speaker 2
All right, welcome back. Our number two, Ryan, Drew and Shannon. Kentucky Sports Radio or Clark's puppet shop. Phone number is open 859-280-2287. The Aviation Glass tech machines. My cell phone got some good text message. We'll get to it. But listen, I've waited all week to talk to Drew about White Lotus. So this is your, this is your heads up. This is your warning. This segment, we're going to talk about White Lotus. It ended over a week ago. A week ago yesterday. You've had a long time to watch it. If you haven't watched it, I'm sorry, but I've waited all week to talk about it. So this is your spoiler alert. If you coming. We're going to talk about White Lotus. Billy's going to join us because Billy also has Drew. He said he has White Lotus thoughts.
Unknown Speaker 1
Okay. Good to have you back on your Billy.
Unknown Speaker 3
Yeah. Great to be here, guys. Good to see you, Ryan.
Unknown Speaker 2
Good to see you, Billy. And your hair.
Unknown Speaker 3
Thank you.
Unknown Speaker 2
Looks a little better than like when we left. It's not so much Billy bangs. You got it. Comb over to the side a little bit.
Unknown Speaker 3
Secret ingredient is moose today.
Unknown Speaker 2
Moose today, Ryan.
Unknown Speaker 3
So we're, you know, we're trying new things. We're evolving. So two weeks from now, it'll look even better.
Unknown Speaker 1
I heard Shannon give you a hard time this morning about it just fighting over the hair.
Unknown Speaker 3
Hard not for Shannon to do that, but I'm looking forward to playing pickleball with him if we ever get this Go.
Matt Jones
Yeah, you could be our fourth. There we go. There's our team.
Unknown Speaker 1
Is it me and Ryan versus the pre show? Is that how we're doing this?
Unknown Speaker 3
Let's go, Shannon. Let's do it.
Matt Jones
Okay, I'm with you, man.
Unknown Speaker 2
See, I think doubles would be much better. You don't have to move as much.
Unknown Speaker 1
Oh, I'm not doing singles.
Unknown Speaker 2
Singles. I'M telling you, I couldn't walk for three days.
Matt Jones
It is. Come on.
Unknown Speaker 1
Yeah, I do my neighborhood walk. And that's the extent of even last night, Abby was like, you know, at one point in your life you sprint and you don't know. That's the last time you ever sprint. Like, you think you'll ever run again? No, I'm never running.
Unknown Speaker 2
No, never.
Matt Jones
Somebody's chasing you with a gun or a knife even.
Unknown Speaker 1
Then shoot me. I'm not running. Too old to run.
Unknown Speaker 2
All right. White Lotus third season is in Thailand. A lot going on. Let's start with. Let's start with the non dramatic finishes and get to the dramatic finish. You okay with that? So let's start with the three. The three high school friends. I mean, you knew that was coming. I mean, you knew they were gonna fight and dislike each other, but I just knew it. They were gonna end up back all lovey dovey as friends again. What were your thoughts about the three high school friends?
Unknown Speaker 1
I wish there were more to that storyline because there's, you know, there's a lot of them. And they kept setting it up and building it, but I guess was the message just that with your friends in life, you, you fight and you have your moments, but at the end of the day, you, you kiss and say I love you and that's about friendship.
Unknown Speaker 2
Yeah.
Unknown Speaker 1
Kind of felt like a little deep meaning to their storyline when I was wanting a little more chaos. But I guess that was my big takeaway is that, you know, you got your, your lifelong friends and it's a bumpy road, but in the end you just, you hug and you love each other.
Unknown Speaker 2
Yeah.
Unknown Speaker 3
I mean, if it's, if the whole show's supposed to be a social experiment, that just seemed like a waste of time. Honestly, they all just made up at the end. Nothing really happened. They talked behind their backs to each other a couple times. I don't know. The celebrity needed to have close friends. Is that what I'm supposed to learn here, Ryan? I thought that was, that was a disappointing.
Unknown Speaker 2
Yeah, it was. Yeah, I agree with you. You kind of could predict how that was going to play out. You thought maybe they might do something just crazy at the end. They didn't. They ended up all kissing and hugging and going back off, being friends again.
Unknown Speaker 1
There was so much to tie up in that one episode. You knew that some of the conclusions were going to be kind of flat and just rushed. That was one of them. I wanted a lot more. And they were just like, I love you, I love You. I love you. And then they closed the book on that.
Unknown Speaker 2
All right, let's go to the Duke family.
Unknown Speaker 3
The Ratliffs.
Unknown Speaker 2
The Ratliffs.
Unknown Speaker 1
I love the Ratliffs. They need a spin off show.
Unknown Speaker 2
You know, the dad finds out while they're in Thailand that his empire has collapsed and he's probably going to jail when he gets back to the United States. And then he. He has these visions of murder, suicide, poisoning his family. And then at the end, they're on the boat, they all get their cell phones, they look. That's when they realize their life has changed forever. How do you think that one played out?
Unknown Speaker 1
If he had really killed his family the way it looked like he was going to, that would have been one of the darkest scenes in TV history. I mean, I was kind of anxious watching, like, they're not really going to kill off a whole family with a toast like this, are they? Because that would have been insane to do. Just the thought of him even. I don't. Even though he was in that dark place murdering your kids and your wife with a. With a poisoned cocktail. That's crazy. Even though it would have been so dark and heavy. Part of me wishes he had gone through with it just for the sake of the show. But that's a wild thing to consider. And how the hell do they not clean out the blender for Locky the next day? How does dad not clean it out before he goes to bed knowing he's put poison in it? And how does Locky wake up and see that filthy blender is like, yeah, I'll make a protein shake in this. So my two takeaways were, holy cow, that was pretty intense for the few minutes of that toast. And then wash out the blender.
Unknown Speaker 3
Yeah, a used blender, please. I mean, everybody's going to clean that before they end up making a drink. But you know, I just.
Matt Jones
It.
Unknown Speaker 3
It felt unresolved. It felt like the dad got off easy, didn't it?
Unknown Speaker 2
I think so.
Unknown Speaker 3
Kind of cut to, hey, you know, them looking at their phones and things are going to change. I mean, there was this whole buildup for this guy to be in trouble with his family, and I didn't get any of that payoff. So was glad the youngest didn't die.
Unknown Speaker 2
Did you think he was dead when he drank the milkshake?
Unknown Speaker 3
Oh, yeah, that. That was gonna piss me off, no doubt if he died. But the way that they did it where one died and the other came alive, like that was. That was odd as well.
Unknown Speaker 1
And we kind of to. To Get a little deep on it. We saw Saxon kind of turn around from the bad guy to like a sympathetic figure. You know, he. He sucked for the first few episodes. Like this is the worst guy on the planet. And then he kind of gets teary eyed when he saw the. The girl run off to. To Wall Goggins. And then on the. On the boat, he's like a different person. He went from the least likable to maybe the most likeable.
Unknown Speaker 2
Likable guy. Yeah. All right, let's go.
Unknown Speaker 1
Love the mom, though. She's the best. I have not stopped saying Piper no. There's not a day that has gone by in the last three weeks I've not said Piper no in some form of my life. They'll have a season four, probably with different characters. Hbo give us a Ratliff show. Just give us the Rattler family somewhere.
Unknown Speaker 2
Let's go to Belinda and Greg. Belinda ends up being a very rich lady. But then she kind of does to the. The masseuse on the island what Jennifer Coolidge did to her in the first episode. Promises her to go into business together, change a new life. Then gets a lot of money. Like, peace out. I'm out. Leave you there. What do you think about that?
Unknown Speaker 1
It's another one that felt kind of flat after all the buildup. She. I guess you just saw her turn around. That money can change anyone. Maybe there's a little bit of that's Tanya's way of taking care of her from the grave. But that. That was another one. I wish there'd been a lot more to it. I don't know what you could do. Like he wasn't gonna kill her or anything, I don't think. But the. The son just shows up out of nowhere to negotiate. And that was just kind of the ending. That was another one. They had so much going on. It's almost like we didn't need some of these storylines.
Unknown Speaker 2
Yeah.
Unknown Speaker 3
Yeah. Failure to wrap it up once again, it falls flat. I didn't even see Gary again after he had paid the money. Right. I mean.
Unknown Speaker 2
Right.
Unknown Speaker 3
It just kind of fades away. And he's a huge character that's been in multiple seasons.
Unknown Speaker 2
So he's the only one that's been in all three seasons. He's the only one.
Unknown Speaker 3
And he just pays her off and that's the end of the storyline. Like, I hope he comes back because that feels unfinished as well.
Unknown Speaker 1
I wonder if. What's her name? The character, whatever.
Unknown Speaker 2
Melinda.
Unknown Speaker 1
Yes.
Unknown Speaker 3
Oh, okay.
Unknown Speaker 1
I wonder if there's always a couple holdovers for the next season. I wonder if we'll get the wealthy version of her next time.
Unknown Speaker 2
She's been on two of the three.
Unknown Speaker 1
Yeah, there's always a few. She seems like one that might be one of the holdovers.
Unknown Speaker 2
All right, let's get to Walt Goggins and Chelsea. This is the big climax, the big ending where he shoots the man he thinks is killed his dad, only to find out, as I predicted, he was really his dad.
Unknown Speaker 1
You said it on, like episode one. I remember I was going to give you your flowers in this conversation. You already said it.
Unknown Speaker 2
I'm going to pat my own self on the back. I knew that was gonna end up being his dad. And then as the gunfire erupts, Chelsea gets hit. He's carrying Chelsea across the bridge and. Gate. Gatecock.
Unknown Speaker 1
Gate to gay talk.
Unknown Speaker 2
Gay cut. Gate. Gaycock. The guy, the security guard.
Unknown Speaker 1
I don't think that's it, but yeah.
Unknown Speaker 2
Well, something like that.
Matt Jones
You guys watching? I haven't seen any of this. And just listening in. I don't think. I don't think I want to go back and watch this now.
Unknown Speaker 2
Well, he, as I predicted, also said he's going to end up killing somebody and being a hero because they showed him taking shooting lessons. And the one guy said, hey, man, you got a killer instinct. How do you think how that. The big dramatic finish? How did it play out for you?
Unknown Speaker 1
So I guess that was the body we saw in the first scene was them floating. Yeah, I like the twist. Even though you predicted it right away that that was his dad. This shootout was a little over the top. Suddenly, Walt Goggins, he just turns in a Navy SEAL shooting guys between the eyes from long range. It was. It was a little much for me. I wish they had kind of done that same ending, but without the full on shootout on the property and killing his girlfriend. But that being his dad was a good twist.
Unknown Speaker 2
Yeah, yeah.
Unknown Speaker 3
That security guard was such a wimp. I knew there was going to be something involving him in the final murder, but I felt like I was watching Star Wars a little bit when the guy died. And the woman's like, he's your father. He's your father. It's like the Asian Star wars that he snuck in. And White Lotus, that was like Empire Strikes Back. But I kind of. I seem to. I like Chelsea. I came around on her and she was probably one of my favorite characters.
Unknown Speaker 2
And I agree. I think she's my favorite character on the whole show.
Unknown Speaker 3
See her die, kind of stunk. But the Walker, Walter Goggins dad storyline of him pushing him over and, and then finally breaking it. I don't know. And nobody ended, nobody acted like there was a mass shooting on the property either. Like everybody just got on the boat and didn't talk about it.
Unknown Speaker 1
Like there was just a big shootout. Yeah, that's what I mean. It's a little much. I. I wish he had just like killed him when he was in the house. Kind of a private moment and then learned after the fact.
Unknown Speaker 2
Yeah.
Unknown Speaker 1
Not a full on action scene at the end of this show that hadn't had much action.
Unknown Speaker 2
Now, the one thing I was. I think we really got left hanging on to were the three Russian guys. You know, they kind of discovered they did it, but then they just let it go. Like, okay, you know, they robbed the jewelry store and they, you know, were shooting guns, but it's okay.
Unknown Speaker 3
Yeah. Security guard decided not to do anything about that.
Unknown Speaker 2
Yeah. So.
Unknown Speaker 3
So I don't know, a few things, elements that felt unfinished. But overall, what did you think, Ryan? Will you give it a grade?
Unknown Speaker 2
I'll give it A. I'll give it a B. The other ones, the other two I thought were definitely A's. This one's a B, maybe even a B minus. What about you guys?
Unknown Speaker 1
I give it a C. I enjoyed it and I'm. I'm ready for season four. But it might even be a D if not for Parker Posey as the Ratliff mom and Walton Goggins. They were both just so good. Those two need Emmys. They'll win Emmys. They. They really made the season for me.
Unknown Speaker 3
Yeah, I'm around the same. I'm around C plus or a C. It's a passing grade. But I'm now not going to watch it again or think about it until the next season.
Unknown Speaker 2
So Mike White, you got some room to make up for the rumor is.
Unknown Speaker 1
A ski resort at the next one. They keep doing Beaches. He even said, I'm tired of Beaches. We're going somewhere else. The rumors of ski resort.
Unknown Speaker 2
Do you guys watch the little interviews they do after the episodes? No, I watch every one of those.
Unknown Speaker 1
I saw most of them.
Unknown Speaker 2
Yeah, those are good. All right, so whether you liked it or not, there's your White Lotus update on Kentucky Sports radio.
Unknown Speaker 1
Before we move on from hbo. Are you up on Righteous Gemstones?
Unknown Speaker 2
I watched it last night.
Unknown Speaker 1
I'm still one behind.
Unknown Speaker 2
Okay.
Unknown Speaker 1
My goodness is I'm one that can. I like some over the top comedies that might be a little raunchy and vulgar. This is just complete chaos this season. I'M enjoying it, but they are doing it all.
Unknown Speaker 2
We've seen way too much of Walt Goggins from the waist down. Way too much. We don't need to see any more of that.
Unknown Speaker 1
It's funny, but holy cow, they're over the top this year.
Unknown Speaker 2
So we'll do our righteous gemstone update. I think, like three more episodes, right?
Unknown Speaker 1
There's a. Yeah, the Last of Us started last night. I watched that. If you. If you enjoyed the Last of Us.
Unknown Speaker 2
Don'T know about that.
Unknown Speaker 1
That's one Shannon would like. It's kind of their version of Walking Dead.
Matt Jones
Okay, maybe I'll have to watch it so I can feel like I'm part of the group.
Unknown Speaker 1
Shannon turned his radio off with all the people who hadn't seen the finale yet for that segment.
Matt Jones
We're not even on the air.
Unknown Speaker 2

Matt Jones
All right, so we got car and Carter is the fan that was doing L's down at the Masters. Yeah, Carter?
Unknown Speaker 2
No way. How do we know this is the guy?
Matt Jones
Well, he claims to be. Go ahead Carter. Make you.
Dr. Camellia Clark
Hey guys, how's it going?
Unknown Speaker 2
So was that you in the video of a Rory walking by and you giving the Ls down?
Dr. Camellia Clark
Yes sir, that was me. My buddy had an extra ticket for Sunday and invited me to come on down so had to make sure I was wearing my UK Polo, my keen trades hat and just happened to be the right place, right time when Rory was walking out of Butler cabin. So I thought it'd be a good opportunity to trigger some delusional card fans and it looks like looks like it worked on the on the Twitter comments.
Unknown Speaker 2
So dude, there's been some great double barrel L's down that ranks up. There's One of the best of all time.
Dr. Camellia Clark
Yeah, it was a lot of fun. It was a great day. Saw a lot of Cats fans. Even got a go catch from one of the green jackets walking around, tried to catch Fleener on the course, Wasn't able to find him. But, yeah, kind of like. Like Drew said, it is fun to be at home on Sunday and kind of get all the action, but nothing really beats being around, like, 16 green, where we were sitting and watching the scoreboards update. And, like, Rory's big shot in the 15 was right about the time that Rose tied it up. So there's just a lot of. A lot of tension in the air, a lot of fun, and it's really nice just for nobody to be on their phones, and you just. You're all in the moment, so it's a good time.
Unknown Speaker 2
How did you get that spot? I mean, you got. You're on the front of the. The chute when he walks up there. Did you have to sprint knock people over to get that spot?
Dr. Camellia Clark
No, everybody was just in the wrong spot, and I saw all the security guards kind of gathering over there, so I walked over and started talking to him, and I was like, is this the spot to be? And they're like, yep, just. Just sit right here and wait and got to talking to some of the people around there. And, like, two of the security guards were from the Lexington area. One guy's from Hazard, so they were. Kentucky was representing all over the place. It's a cool experience once again.
Unknown Speaker 2
The show never ceases to amaze me. We put that out there, and then the guy that actually did it calls in. Carter calls in the guy that did the double wheelbarrows down.
Unknown Speaker 1
Beautiful. Carter, did you survive there without giving all of your money to the gift shop?
Dr. Camellia Clark
Oh, man, I spent way too much on polos and quarter zips and couple too many pimento cheese sandwiches and, yeah, got enough gas money to make it back home, but we'll see what happens for the rest of the week.
Unknown Speaker 2
Well, Carter, you become a hero in big blue nation. Well done. Well played, and we look forward to meeting you someday down the road. All right?
Dr. Camellia Clark
Yes, sir. You guys have a good one, right?
Unknown Speaker 2
I assume he's probably driving back now. He was in the car, maybe driving back now.
Unknown Speaker 1
Beautiful site, though. You know, has there been a bigger platform for an L's down? There's basically a lot of people were probably tuned in because that was right after Rory putted out to win it.
Unknown Speaker 2
After the playoff hole.
Unknown Speaker 1
Millions of eyeballs there. I think that Might be the biggest stage for a double Ls down that we've seen.
Unknown Speaker 2
What are some of the best ones? Will Levis in the end zone at doing the double arrows down at Papa John's.
Unknown Speaker 1
Yeah. The year Shea went off, had the big game, I feel like the whole team was doing it a lot about that. There's been a lot of good football ones.
Unknown Speaker 2
Yeah.
Unknown Speaker 1
Especially when they go into Louisville Stadium. I love all of them equally, really, but I think that might have been all right.
Unknown Speaker 2
859-280-2287 who's next? Shannon?
Matt Jones
Wes.
Unknown Speaker 2
Wes. Go ahead, Wesley.
Dr. Camellia Clark
Hey guys, great recruiting weekend for basketball. Hopefully we can lock up Wilkerson in the next few days. I think we've got a pretty good squad going into next year with one glaring omission. I still think we gotta have a backup point guard that can guard the man in front of him and initiate the offense. If we, if, if, if Jalen was to go down with any kind of injury with the roster we have now, we're dead. As far as point guard goes, we, we saw the Travis Perry, Colin Chandler extended minutes movie last season. It gets 20% on rotten tomatoes. I know people aren't going to like that comment, but it is what it is. What do you guys think? Do you think the staff's looking for a backup point or are we just going to roll with what we've got, assuming we get Wilkerson?
Unknown Speaker 2
Appreciate it, Wes. I mean it's a, it's a fair question and a fair point. If you've got low, Chandler, Perry, Jasper can play it. I mean if you had to. Oh wait. Could probably play some backup point if you needed. What are your thoughts about the position right now?
Unknown Speaker 1
I agree with the caller. It is questionable behind low as a true point guard. I mean, even Jasper's off the ball. Colin Chandler's off the ball. You got Perry on the roster, who played a lot of minutes by necessity last year. But they're already at 12 roster spots and I think they'll prioritize shooting with Wilkerson. I don't, I don't know if Wilkerson could give you many minutes there, but he's right. You got to keep Low healthy and he's going to have to play close to 30 minutes a game.
Unknown Speaker 2
Who's next? Shane. Let's get one more phone call up. Who we got?
Matt Jones
Let's go to Chris.
Unknown Speaker 2
Chris. Go ahead, Chris.
Dr. Camellia Clark
Hey guys, one thing I was thinking about when you're talking about White Lotus is I didn't realize that maybe I'm late to the party. But that actor that played Greg also did Uncle Rico and Napoleon Dynamite, so I just couldn't look at the guy the same way. And I'm expecting him to throw a football over a mountain the whole time. And there's no mountains to silence. So that's where I was kind of. Kind of screwed up. And then also, did you see that product placement that they did with coffee mate?
Unknown Speaker 2
I don't think I caught that. Didn't catch it.
Dr. Camellia Clark
Yeah. So it's. It's a pina colada flavor that you can put in your coffee. So I think that didn't work out too well either. So just my thoughts.
Unknown Speaker 2
I appreciate it. Chris. Yeah, we talked about him being in the other movie of the first season. I think you or Matt recognized it. That Uncle Fester or whatever his name.
Unknown Speaker 1
Is from Uncle Rico.
Unknown Speaker 2
Uncle Rico.
Unknown Speaker 1
One more product placement. This isn't a spoiler for the people that had turned off the White Lotus discussion. You can keep listening. They gave us another Duke meme, even though the game had already happened in the finale. He kind of does it again in his Duke shirt.
Unknown Speaker 2
Yeah, he wore the Duke shirt every episode, I think there for a while.
Unknown Speaker 1
And there was. When the sun shows up, he said, I went to U of H. At first I thought he meant Houston, which would have been perfect with. Because he was talking, you know, you got the Duke. And the night before, Houston had just beat Duke. But I think he meant University of Hawaii. But that would have been awesome if their character, not even knowing they had written that into the script with the Final Four results. If he had been a Houston grad.
Unknown Speaker 2
Let's get another call. Who we got? Shannon.
Matt Jones
Daniel.
Unknown Speaker 2
Daniel. Go ahead, Daniel.
Dr. Camellia Clark
Well, I was going to do what Drew just said. He spoiling my party.
Unknown Speaker 1
You can still say it. Go ahead.
Dr. Camellia Clark
That's okay. I thought it was U of H2. You know, nobody ever said anything that the Duke shirt and then the U of H stuff and nobody said anything. But I thought it was kind of ironic myself. So that's about it.
Unknown Speaker 1
Yeah. The day after they sent Cooper flag home with that miraculous comeback.
Unknown Speaker 2
It's.
Unknown Speaker 1
It's. It's almost like White looted White Lotus. New the NCAA tournament results. Next episode, we'll still say it was Houston because he never clarified. It's probably Hawaii, but we'll call it Houston. Just to give Mike White a little credit for his writing there, we do.
Unknown Speaker 2
Need to point out that tonight is the WNBA draft and Georgia Amore will be top 10 when she go high.
Unknown Speaker 1
Top 10. She's kind of. The mocks have her kind of nine and 10.
Unknown Speaker 2
Yeah.
Unknown Speaker 1
So she's right there on the fringe. But she's invited to the green room. She'll be a lottery pick, certainly maybe top 10. And wherever she ends up, I am absolutely buying some George Amore gear after she was so fun on ksr. Both appearances she was so funny. In addition to being awesome at basketball, she's probably my favorite to come through the women's basketball program and I've liked a lot. So I don't, I'll be honest, I don't track the WNBA a lot. Can't tell you a lot about it. I'm like many people. I've seen more of it in the last few years than I had before. But I will be keeping up with Georgia wherever she goes. I'll be a big fan.
Unknown Speaker 2
Well, UK women's basketball program owes her a lot of gratitude because she came with Kenny Brooks and kind of helped reignite the program. And then of course she became a superstar this season. If she at that little floater had gone in against Kansas State and they advanced, I mean she would forever be remembered for that shot. But it is. I just wanted that to go in for so bad.
Unknown Speaker 1
Yeah. And I'll, I'll also be watching my first career WNBA draft tonight. I do want to see what happens. Like I said, I'm excited for. I haven't watched any in the past for being honest. But you know, that sport keeps getting bigger and bigger and now you put another cat in there. It's been fun watching Ryan Howard in Atlanta from a distance. Now wherever George ends up and Mario, he's not his head back here. They've got her projected to la. You're a Lakers guy. She might be a spark.
Unknown Speaker 2
There we go. All right. Homeownership takes work. As you know, Shannon, Shannon just got a new home.

Now more of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage. Here's Matt Jones.
Unknown Speaker 2
You know when Shannon and I were holding hands walking down the beach in the sunlight in Florida, people kept staring at us and I wondered why they were staring at I'm really because of me. Because I had on that Florida UK Hawaii flowery shirt.
Unknown Speaker 1
It's a good shirt.
Unknown Speaker 2
Shannon was shirtless and sunburnt but he had on his Shady Ray sunglasses.
Matt Jones

Unknown Speaker 2
We got to talk about this. What's going on down at our friends in Knoxville, Tennessee. Quarterback. I'm a lieva.
Unknown Speaker 1
I'm a leaving.
Unknown Speaker 2
I'm a leaving. I'm a lieva. So let me, let me see if, if I know the story right. Drew, he originally agreed to an nil deal of allegedly 2 million a year for four years. $8 million allegedly. After spring practice he decides he's going to go in and negotiate. He wants more money.
Unknown Speaker 1
Four million.
Matt Jones
It's not enough.
Unknown Speaker 2
Four million a year.
Unknown Speaker 1
Yeah.
Unknown Speaker 2
Tennessee to their credit, Josh Hypel says buy we ain't giving you that. What do you make of it?
Unknown Speaker 1
One it's hilarious. As a Tennessee hater, I was at the spring showcase in the press box eating some nice donuts from uk Those were good donuts. Uk. Thank you. When the news dropped, Nick Roush had an evil villain laugh that you could hear throughout the stadium. He thought it was so funny. I can still hear it ringing in my ears because it was funny. It is the last day of spring practice in college football, and your quarterback that you've been counting on to be the face and future of the program for a couple years now just decides he wants to leave after everything is pretty much set and he's doing it for money. And he really didn't even have that special of a year last year.
Unknown Speaker 2
Right.
Unknown Speaker 1
He had some laughable moments.
Unknown Speaker 2
He looked good at times, looked bad at times.
Unknown Speaker 1
Yeah. But when it really mattered, when the lights were the brightest, he did not perform for a guy that's commanding as much money he is. So I thought it was. It was hilarious. I love everything about it. I love the position they're in. But you're right about Hypo. This nil is already a little out of control. If you got a guy trying to renegotiate during the last Saturday of spring ball when everything is set, I think it is. You do have to do what Hypo did and say, no, I'm sorry, we cannot cave into this. You've made your agreement, you've been through practice, you've played a season with us. Your deal is your deal. We are not renegotiating right now at this stage in the year. So I think Hypo made the right move, even though I love everything about it.
Unknown Speaker 2
Shannon.
Matt Jones
Well, is this any surprise that guys trying to negotiate more money, but I agree with druids, wrong timing. Like, you know, there's a time and place for everything and right after spring, you know, your spring football practice, that that's the wrong time to do it. I think it really makes a, a bad impression on, on your teammates. You know, the guy's only here for money. But it doesn't surprise me that it's happening. And until they put guardrails on nil, it's going to continue to happen. Maybe not to this extreme, but you know, they've got to somehow pull this whole thing back in because it's completely out of control.
Unknown Speaker 1
He's not even worth close to that.
Unknown Speaker 2
No, exactly.
Matt Jones
No.
Unknown Speaker 2
So there's a couple questions. One, I hate the fact I got to support Tennessee, but I fully support Josh Hype on Tennessee in this because if he, if they did this, if they backed down, who's not say the running back was going to do the same thing? The wide receivers next in line, the starting middle Linebackers are like, okay, yeah, we want to renegotiate all of our deals and we all, we all want more money. Is there anybody out there that would give this kid that much money? The schools that can do it are slim to begin with. There's only like maybe a dozen schools that have that kind of money to begin with. Does anybody fork up and give it to him?
Matt Jones
So what happens when nobody does? Then what? He just backed himself into a corner and he's going to end up having to go play somewhere else for less money maybe than what he originally had.
Unknown Speaker 1
Somebody probably will. Oregon's been mentioned. I think he has a brother at ucla. Somebody will do it. But I think he hurt his value even more by showing what kind of person he is. Like, yeah, he is in your locker room. He's been there for two seasons, goes through all of spring and then he wants to shop around. I think that that does even more damage to his value. I would love for him to end up nowhere. That would be hilarious.
Unknown Speaker 2
I can see somebody like Colorado Dion making a move to get him as part of their big circus they got going on out there.
Unknown Speaker 1
But they interrupted a mid major.
Matt Jones
Can you trust him though? You know, you agree to one number, then it's not good enough. You know, can you trust a guy like that? I don't think you can.
Unknown Speaker 2
Well, could be like, you know, Calzada, our quarterback came from incarnate word. Maybe this guy, I'm a leva, has to play at someplace like that and try to go make the next jump after that.
Unknown Speaker 1
I Hope he gets 200,000 somewhere at in our incarnate word. Tennessee, they have a couple of guys that hypo was doing the coach speak. You know, we'll just go to them. Football has a portal about to reopen where guys can move around. That's what Nico's doing. Tennessee is probably going to go pluck somebody from. It can't be in the sec. You can't transfer across the sec. But I'd be watching for a quarterback somewhere. If you see a quarterback randomly enter the portal after going through spring practice, Tennessee will. Will pay good money for someone right now.
Unknown Speaker 2
859-280-2287. Let's go back to our phone lines. Who we got? Shannon.
Matt Jones
Nikki.
Unknown Speaker 2
Nikki. Go ahead, Nikki. Hey, Ryan, it's Nikki Hu Banks. I just went by and picked him.
Unknown Speaker 1
Up at the Y and he tells.
Unknown Speaker 2
Me that you all have been playing.
Dr. Camellia Clark
Pickleball and I'm so excited.
Unknown Speaker 2
Excited? Yeah. Shannon has hand led me into the wild world of pickleball. We were on vacation.
Matt Jones
You're welcome.
Unknown Speaker 2
That is wonderful. Well, I play every day and I.
Unknown Speaker 1
Would love to play to have you.
Unknown Speaker 2
Guys come over to Crosswoods Baptist Church. I play over there at the Y Monday, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 8:30 to 11. But I know you're on the show but anytime you want to play, I'd love to play with you guys. It's a great exercise and I'm so excited for you all. And we just love listening to his show. We really thank you.
Cindy Crawford
We're ready for the next remote though.
Unknown Speaker 2
Another remote. Looking forward to see you back out on our remotes against. Tell the good doctor we said hello and we'll see at the next remote.
Unknown Speaker 1
I sure will.
Unknown Speaker 2
Thank you so much. I'll have a blessed day. Thank you. Yeah, we'll get back in after Matt gets back and they'll kind of fire some up some Friday remotes. I haven't seen a schedule. I don't know when they were going to restart again.
Unknown Speaker 1
I actually had to ask for it just last week and someone emailed it to me. So give me a couple of minutes to track that down and I can actually tell you. But on the, on the pickleball and if we do a me and you versus the pre show and Mario's there filming it or Mario wants to hop in and play, you think Matt will cave if the whole show. But Matt is doing it or is he that firm and hating pickleball?
Unknown Speaker 2
And I've told Matt this before, he would probably like it because he likes ping pong, he likes tennis. It kind of combines the two. It's fast, you know, boom, boom, boom, boom and point. I think, I really think he would like it if he ever broke down and decided to play.
Unknown Speaker 1
He's being stubborn at this point though. I don't know if he'll cave. Pickleball is a pickleball, Paul.
Unknown Speaker 2
Pickleball.
Unknown Speaker 1
I think he's ruined any chances of it for Matt, but I'm excited to get out there.
Unknown Speaker 2
859-2802 tweets. And by the way, that was our whiskey thief call today. That was too good of a call not to give it that. So we'll, we'll see her. Ms. Eubanks, back at our next remote. We got to talk real quick before we get out of here about UK baseball. They played Texas this past weekend. Texas won the series two games to one. But it's what happened Saturday night. That one, talk about it went 15 innings and the winning score, Shannon, was scored When Kentucky had a guy on first, they squared a bunt to move him over to second. Catcher jumps out from behind on plate, throws the first base. Bad throw goes all the way down the right field line. And the winning run scored all the way from first base on a throwing error.
Unknown Speaker 3
On.
Unknown Speaker 2
Off. Off a sacrifice bunt. That's good in its own. But in the sixth inning of that game, if you haven't seen the video, Nick Mingione lost his marbles and got kicked out in the sixth inning and the game went 15. So what's he do for the next nine innings? For the next two hours, back in.
Matt Jones
The locker room, get a shower, watch the game on tv, you know, cleanup, wash some.
Unknown Speaker 2
You wash some jerseys, sweep the floor. I mean, he had to sit back there in the locker room for like two hours waiting on this game to end. That went 15 innings.
Unknown Speaker 1
Yeah, I wasn't watching live, but I guess it was a horrible call that led to the ejection. Guess they're saying Kentucky batter leaned in when he didn't.
Unknown Speaker 2
Yeah, yeah.
Unknown Speaker 1
So I mean, it was cool seeing passionate Mingyone. He hadn't been ejected in a couple years, but I guess yes, you just go back and enjoy that nice facility they have over Kentucky Proud Park. I saw something. He said maybe he cleaned out a locker. Kind of maybe insinuating. Might have thrown a few things. Yeah, he told Daniel Hager, our baseball beat writer at ksr. Shout Out Daniel Hager. Follow him on Twitter. Nick Vigione revealed that he in the post game, he cleaned out an entire locker. I assume that means tossing some things.
Unknown Speaker 2
I'm surprised he cleaned out the entire locker room. You're back there for two hours doing that? Danny, Daniel Hager's one posted the video.
Unknown Speaker 1
I think I saw great men go check that.
Matt Jones
Gave him, you know, an earful, then went back for more. Like when like sprinted out, that umpire went around him because the ump turned his back, did a full sprint to the umpire, circle it around him just to get back into his face. So that had to be a bad call if you almost that fired up.
Unknown Speaker 2
I think that's why Men Joe was so mad that turned his back on him and walked away while they were still having their conversation. But yeah, 15 innings and you're back there for two hours, I guess listening to Darren Hedrick on the radio down there and then in the locker room. But by the way, their locker room is as good. It's better than most minor league ballparks.
Unknown Speaker 1
Oh, that place is crazy. We got a tour pretty new.
Unknown Speaker 2
Yes.
Unknown Speaker 1
They have that, like, underground training facility. It's like a whole field down there.
Unknown Speaker 2
Underground hitting. Hitting cages.
Unknown Speaker 1
Yeah.
Unknown Speaker 2
It's amazing. It's like, it's better than most minor league ballparks. There's no doubt.
Unknown Speaker 1
I found the remote schedule.
Unknown Speaker 2
Okay.
Unknown Speaker 1
I don't want to say where it is because it says tbd, so I don't get people excited. Then we have to change, but there's not one until May 9th after the Derby. Yes. Okay, so May 9th be looking for us.
Matt Jones
All right.
Unknown Speaker 1
Give the location just in case.
Unknown Speaker 2
We'll take our last break, come back our last segment. Got a couple calls, guys. Online. We'll get to Jerry and Bo from Rough River. Well, that's gotta be a good call. We'll be right back. This is Kentucky Sports Radio.

Unknown Speaker 2
That's the Clark's Puppet Shop phone number. Who we got? Shannon?
Matt Jones
Let's go to Dan.
Unknown Speaker 2
Dan, go ahead Dan. Hey guys, it's Dan from Rocky Mountain. Hey Dan, how you feeling? Dan, Look I'm right now I'm Getting my fusion right now just left. My oncologist said that I was a.
Dr. Camellia Clark
Miracle that my cancer's been beaten back.
Unknown Speaker 2
Awesome. That. It is awesome, man. It is very good. So prayers up for you, Dan. Yep.
Dr. Camellia Clark
Yeah.
Unknown Speaker 2
Thank you. Look, I got a football question for you too. What I understand. Listen, you guys, our line is going to be much better next year.
Dr. Camellia Clark
Our linebackers are going to be pretty good and looks like our receivers are.
Unknown Speaker 2
Going to be good. We're going to take a slack where, you know, we lost a couple receivers.
Dr. Camellia Clark
Who is going to be the quarterback? Who do you all think?
Unknown Speaker 2
All right, Dan, good to hear from you. And keep, keep fighting a good fight down there, brother. We're all praying for you. So thank you, Dan. So like I asked you that earlier, Drew, it's Calzada's job and Cutters number two, you think going into fall camp.
Unknown Speaker 1
Yeah, Cutter is the best backup Kentucky's had in a long time and maybe he makes a huge jump in the fall and takes it. But it seems the way they're talking and the reason they brought Calzada in is his seven years of experience. And then Cutter will be next year has an eighth year that he could pull that off. But you know, if you're, if you're setting odds, Calzada is the heavy favorite to be QB1. But that's, that's not a slight at Cutter. He looked pretty good in what we've seen of him. That's the best QB2 I can remember here and I think he'll be the guy.
Unknown Speaker 2
I think there's a little more pressure on Calzada than there should be because Brock Vandegrift just didn't work for us last year he was hurt, kind of struggled. Year before that, Devin Leary was kind of hurt, kind of struggled. They need, they need a good bounce back year from a transfer quarterback and Calzada seems to be the guy.
Unknown Speaker 1
You mentioned Brock Vandergriff. I immediately I'm in a couple of Tennessee group techs. Unfortunately I've mentioned that before. Have way too many friends that wear the orange. I got to break the I am a leave a news to them. They were all just enjoying their peaceful Saturday mornings with their coffee. So I got to put that in a group chat and one of them even said do we need to call Brock Vandergriff? So that's where they are right now. Brock Vandergriff is happily retired and fishing and hunting somewhere in Georgia.
Unknown Speaker 2
That's right.
Unknown Speaker 1
Maybe Tennessee gives him a call. But you're right about Calzada and they're due to take a step forward to that position.
Unknown Speaker 2
They are overdue. Who's next?
Matt Jones
Let's go to Jerry.
Unknown Speaker 2
Jerry. Go ahead, Jerry.
Dr. Camellia Clark
Hey, Ryan. You guys missed the sweetest thing about the Samana Leva thing is that busting the nil rules and use and doing the tampering and using it to recruit. That all started with Nico. Don't you remember that summer when Mark Stoops his head was exploding because Mitch was making him follow the rules and Tennessee was out there busting every Nile rule. And then when the NCAA finally gets around, enforced the rules and they get caught, they went down and got a homer judge in East Tennessee to throw out all the nil rules so they could keep him because the NCAA was going to make him ineligible.
Unknown Speaker 2
And then. You're right about that, Jerry.
Dr. Camellia Clark
And that is why this is just so sweet to watch this happen to them because they created this monster with him. They deserve everything they're getting. And they're ugly and I hate them. And you know, this is just so funny. And then. And the only thing that was better was listen to master the Ohio State game to that Basilio show. Listen whining cry because Ohio State spent $30 million on their roster. Well, boohoo. You out. Got all the rules thrown out. You got one all billionaire. Ohio State's got more money than God and Texas 20 more billionaires while in it. Tennessee, you suck.
Unknown Speaker 2
Jerry with another.
Unknown Speaker 1
Is that a call today?
Unknown Speaker 2
Call the day right there. That was good. I was just letting cook he was cooking right there like that.
Unknown Speaker 1
He's not wrong. They were bragging about getting him what they paid.
Unknown Speaker 2
That's right.
Unknown Speaker 1
They were just almost openly talking about how they cheated to get him paying him so much money. Look what we did.
Unknown Speaker 2
Look what happened.
Unknown Speaker 1
Well, that backfired quickly.
Unknown Speaker 2
Let's get another call. Shannon, who we got?
Matt Jones
Let's go to Bo from Rough River.
Unknown Speaker 2
Bo from Rough River. This better be a good one. Go ahead, Bo.
Dr. Camellia Clark
Yeah, just since Matt's out on his.
Unknown Speaker 2
European tour, it's a good time for.
Unknown Speaker 1
You all to have your pickleball tournament.
Unknown Speaker 2
KSR pickleball. Announce it safe in three weeks. When Matt comes back, he can deal with it.
Unknown Speaker 1
Thank you.
Unknown Speaker 2
Appreciate it, Bo. Well, Billy's already come in. Talking a little smack. Wants the pre show versus ksr. Billy and Shannon versus you and me. Drew.
Unknown Speaker 1
I'm in. Before we turn the cameras on, have the showcase event. I would like to actually play once. Maybe hold the paddle as a paddle or a racket. What am I working. I'd like to get a few reps in.
Matt Jones
Yeah, like a wiffle ball almost.
Unknown Speaker 2
Yeah.
Matt Jones
That's kind of the best way I could describe it.
Unknown Speaker 2
Shannon puts all this spin on it.
Matt Jones
So he's.
Unknown Speaker 2
He's hitting these underhand spin serves. I think I got this. And then it hits on this rubber surface and just, you know, dies. Sometimes it spins, takes off like. I can't hit that.
Unknown Speaker 1
Yeah.
Matt Jones
Can put a little English on it.
Unknown Speaker 2
Ryan, you put a lot of English on it.
Unknown Speaker 1
I was on the tennis team my senior year. You want to know my record?
Unknown Speaker 2
What was it?
Unknown Speaker 1
Oh, and oh, because on the first, the day of the first match, sprained my ankle playing basketball in PE that day. So even though I was on the roster, what could have been had the uniform. I absolutely shattered my ankle the day of our first match.
Matt Jones
You did.
Unknown Speaker 2
Never got a chance to play.
Unknown Speaker 1
I mean I put in all the work, put in all the work in the pre. In the preseason, the off season, and just never got to play. Who knows? I could have gone on to Wimbledon.
Unknown Speaker 2
We got time to squeeze on Robbie here real quick.
Matt Jones
Let's do it.
Unknown Speaker 2
Robbie, you're the last call of the day. What do you got, Robbie?
Dr. Camellia Clark
Oh, yes, guys, I was. I just wondered with the Katie and Lewis be committing, do we have anybody. Is Pope looking at anybody for the backup point guard? We need a. We need another point guard.
Unknown Speaker 2
Appreciate that. Yeah, we talked about that earlier. You know, with the kid we got from Pitt will be our main point guard. But then you got Colin Chandler, Travis Perry and Jasper Johnson and Oway. I think that combination of those four guys, somebody's gonna have to end up playing backup point guard.
Unknown Speaker 1
And Pope's probably has some names on a board he's called, but right now they seem to be all in on Wilkerson and that that makes 13 there. I mean they could add somebody in that spot because I agree they missed some ball handling. With the Caden Lewis being out, he was supposed to be the future after low. So it's a weird spot. But I think shooting is a little more important than a point guard that'll play 10 to 12 minutes a game.
Unknown Speaker 2
So we are back at KS Bar and Grill tomorrow, right?
Unknown Speaker 1
That's right.
Unknown Speaker 2
Then we'll be in studio on Wednesday and then back at KS Bar & Grill on Thursday and Friday as one more week without Matt. Matt will be back a week from today.
Unknown Speaker 1
Yep. Everybody come to the bar in the morning. Ryan's new tan.
Unknown Speaker 2

a. Overall Impressions and Grading
The KSR crew opens the hour with an extensive analysis of the third season of HBO's acclaimed series, "White Lotus." The conversation centers around the finale, with each host providing their unique perspectives and critiques.
Ryan initiated the discussion by expressing disappointment in the resolution of the high school friends' storyline:
“I wish there were more to that storyline because there's, you know, there's a lot of them. And they kept setting it up and building it, but I guess the message was just about enduring friendships despite conflicts.” ([05:22])
Ryan evaluated the season with a tentative grade of B minus, citing strong performances by key actors but feeling the plot resolutions were somewhat rushed.
Shannon offered a contrasting view, assigning the finale a C grade but highlighted standout performances by Parker Posey and Walton Goggins:
“They really made the season for me.” ([13:54])
b. Storylines and Character Development
Three High School Friends: The hosts felt the arc lacked depth, with predictable reconciliations overshadowing potential dramatic tensions.

“I love the Ratliffs. They need a spin-off show.” ([06:34])
