NMLSConsumeraccess.org welcome to hour two of Kentucky Sports Radio, presented by Stockton Mortgage. Now here's Matt Jones.
Matt Jones
All right, welcome back. Our number two, Ryan, Drew and Shannon. Matt will be back on Monday. So this is the last show without him before he returns from his fellowship over in Amsterdam. Kind of anxious to hear all the stories and we've seen some pictures he's posted. Kind of went to a wild street party. It looked like the other night he was at the.
Shannon The Dude
The darts. What is the World Series of Darts? I don't know what they call it. That looks like a lot of fun.
Matt Jones
Yeah, it wasn't a street party. It was like an arena for darts.
Shannon The Dude
He got a media credential. I wonder if he name dropped ESPN and got back there to cover.
Matt Jones
Place was going crazy.
Shannon The Dude
Of all the things that he's gonna come back tell us. I'm most interested in the darts event. That's something I would have done if I were over there.
Matt Jones
I mean, they were going crazy like you do at a soccer event overseas in Europe. So makes us kind of hear all these stories and talk about. I don't know what he can and can't talk about the fellowship part, but even hearing the stories about that would be cool.
Shannon The Dude
Yeah. They're over there making sure he's hiding all the secrets like the Denver airport and things like that.
Matt Jones
Okay, before we go back to the phone lines, I got a couple questions for you. For me, you and Shannon.
Shannon The Dude
Okay.
Matt Jones
Google apparently released, like, their most asked question in every state, most searched athlete in every state, things like that. So what do you think was the most asked most googled question in the state of Kentucky for Last year? For 2024? The most Googled question.
Shannon The Dude
It's a tough one. You got any guesses, Shannon?
Ryan Lemon
I'm sure it has something to do with Kentucky basketball. So is Travis Perry going to play tonight?
Shannon The Dude
Where does Mark Pope live?
Ryan Lemon
That's a good one.
Shannon The Dude
That's not.
Matt Jones
That is a good one.
Shannon The Dude
I'm trying to think of something Pope related.
Matt Jones
It's not UK related.
Shannon The Dude
Okay.
Matt Jones
It's not Arkansas related.
Shannon The Dude
Is it sports related?
Matt Jones
It is not sports related.
Ryan Lemon
Wow.
Shannon The Dude
I don't know.
Matt Jones
What? There was a big event in 2024 involving a couple politicians.
Ryan Lemon
Oh, well, you mean the election?
Shannon The Dude
Yeah, the election.
Matt Jones
The election?
Ryan Lemon
Yeah.
Matt Jones
The most Google question.
Shannon The Dude
Who won the election?
Matt Jones
Where is my voting booth? Where's my voting okay.
Shannon The Dude
Way off with the market.
Matt Jones
No, but I'm 100 with you guys. I didn't think it'd be anything like that, but apparently that was the most googled question in Kentucky. Where is my voting location? All right, who do you think was the most searched Kentucky athlete last year in 2024?
Shannon The Dude
Like they're at Kentucky, the school, or they're from Kentucky. Is it pretty. Pretty broad?
Matt Jones
Could be either. Or.
Shannon The Dude
I'm gonna say Dan Issel because that one guy tried to kill him off.
Ryan Lemon
Oh, that's a good call. Rest in peace, Dan.
Shannon The Dude
I don't know, Trent.
Matt Jones
Noah sand, you got a guess?
Ryan Lemon
I'm gonna go. Travis Perry again, doubling down.
Matt Jones
Okay, I'll give you some hints. There was a big, huge worldwide sporting event.
Shannon The Dude
Oh, yeah. Okay. Sidney McLaughlin.
Matt Jones
Yes. Sidney McLaughlin.
Ryan Lemon
Yeah.
Matt Jones
Was the most googled athlete the Connor from Kentucky because she played one year here.
Shannon The Dude
I like Shannon's. Is Travis Perry going to play? That had to have been top five.
Ryan Lemon
Yeah, that's the question we get all the time now.
Matt Jones
Here's another one that blew me away. The most googled sporting event in the state of Kentucky in 2024.
Shannon The Dude
Chicken fighting.
Matt Jones
That's a good guess. That's a real good guess.
Ryan Lemon
Most Google sporting event, huh? And I'm sure it's way off. Like, it's not Kentucky basketball. It's not Kentucky Football Derby.
Matt Jones
No. That's what I would have thought. That was my guess.
Shannon The Dude
Kentucky baseball.
Matt Jones
No.
Ryan Lemon
Was there like Little League World Series or something?
Matt Jones
No, it wasn't just in the state of Kentucky. This is the most googled question. It was like almost every. Every state. The Olympics wasn't the Olympics either. I think this is going to surprise you too. It surprised the heck out of me. That's why I wanted to bring it up.
Ryan Lemon
Lay it on us.
Matt Jones
The Logan Paul, Mike Tyson fight. Yes.
Shannon The Dude
That's embarrassing.
Matt Jones
And if you remember, probably a lot of it was because it. They had technical malfunctions. Like it stopped broadcasting. A lot of.
Shannon The Dude
Yeah, it was lagging.
Matt Jones
And I bet a lot of people were probably getting online about that, trying to complain about it. But yeah, that was like in almost every state. That was the most asked most Google sporting event.
Shannon The Dude
What's. What's Ryan's most recent or most googled question? Let's do it.
Matt Jones
Okay. Here's my last five. Well, I can do all of them. The last one I just googled Cincinnati Reds. I wanted to see if they won last night.
Shannon The Dude
Okay.
Matt Jones
And then there's mycarepact.com. that's how I Funnel money to my kid. It's in jail.
Shannon The Dude
Okay.
Matt Jones
Recent alien sightings. Because we're gonna have an alien topic today segment today. KHSAA scoreboard. I don't know why that's so high on my. I haven't looked at that in a while. UK baseball, Mavericks. UK Men's basketball, NBA playoffs. John Scott, uk. So my search history is not too bad.
Shannon The Dude
My show prep in there.
Matt Jones
Yeah, that's probably what it's from. I actually had to do some show prep.
Shannon The Dude
Yeah, I'm looking at mine. It's mostly transfer portal people. Fernando's food truck in Lexington. I had to check out their menu yesterday.
Matt Jones
Okay.
Shannon The Dude
PGA 2K25 standard edition. You know, wild day for me yesterday.
Matt Jones
Must have been things up.
Shannon The Dude
I was hoping I'd have something a little more. A little more entertaining, but I guess I'm a pretty boring Googler.
Matt Jones
Shannon, what about you?
Ryan Lemon
So is this just Google? Because I don't know how to pull up just Google. I'll just tell you. I'll just share my. My history of websites I've been on. I've checked my email today. I got body.com. my beachbody stuff. I do college football makes rule change about the, you know, the injury, the fake injury. I Googled that this morning. Kentucky Wildcat basketball. I guess I was looking at the roster because we were talking about that on. On the pre show this morning. And then DeAndre Liggins and all the places that he's played because we had.
Matt Jones
Him on the show yesterday.
Shannon The Dude
Look at all the show prep we've done.
Ryan Lemon
That's right.
Matt Jones
Now the question is, if we did this next week after Matt's here, I guarantee our search history is going to be a lot different. We're actually trying to research stuff to get ready for the show today. This week.
Shannon The Dude
Yeah. And speaking of Liggins, I spent the day just doing more DeAndre Liggins. Just videos memories. I said on there. I enjoyed that interview, but I just had like a whole DeAndre Liggins appreciation afternoon after the show. I'd forgotten. Someone reminded us that after they beat West Virginia the second, the. The year after West Virginia knocked him out, he was yelling, do the John Wall now. Yeah. Found lots of old DeAndre clips. That was a good blast from the past having him on yesterday. And going back down that timeline. I'd forgotten a lot of that era, sadly.
Matt Jones
Well, you'd posted him hitting that big three against North Carolina.
Shannon The Dude
That kind of took off. We all remember that. But some of the other stuff too. But that was great hearing from him.
Matt Jones
Yesterday though, you could look like Coach Pope and a couple of the guys were in Glasgow yesterday.
Shannon The Dude
Yep.
Matt Jones
Doing ribbon cutting for the Boys and Girls Club in Glasgow.
Shannon The Dude
Right.
Matt Jones
Kelly Kraft, I think was there and brought down Coach Pope and a couple.
Shannon The Dude
Of the players, Trent Noah and Brandon Garrison. Pope, man, he just doesn't stop moving. You know, some people on Twitter were like, well, shouldn't we be looking at the portal? Why is he at this? If the crafts want you to be at the Glasgow opening, you are going to be at the Glasgow because we are portaling with the crafts money. So I'm glad he went to that and hearing from people in that area, it was a big deal having them there. I don't know if Travis and Brandon Garrison spoke or anything, but it was cool that they made the trip too.
Matt Jones
It's just good to see that connection come back to the fans, you know, doing little things like that to get that connection back with your fan base. After our previous coaches kind of fractured.
Shannon The Dude
For a couple years and I assume he took air travel and that was a quick trip and it didn't. Didn't impact recruiting. If anything, it was a net positive.
Matt Jones
For recruiting the Joe Craft helicopter or the plane. Or the plane going down there. So. And I also want to mention this is over in your side of the state. I didn't realize this till I got a Note last night. McLean county, the flooding has been so bad over there at the school. They're not even back to school yet. They've had to cancel all their sporting events. I had no idea they were still suffering that bad over McLean County.
Shannon The Dude
I didn't know that either, sadly. Hate to hear that Phoenix is from McLean county, who was on KSAR last week. And then that's pretty close to Owensboro. It's kind of in between us there. So we both know that area very well.
Matt Jones
Well, apparently it's so bad the schools are. Most of the schools are still out. Had to cancel all their sporting events. So they're really trying to struggle and pick things back up. It's kind of gone unreported, I think a little bit. They're still struggling. So bad. We think of the flooding in eastern Kentucky, but it's just as been bad in western Kentucky over this last round.
Shannon The Dude
Yeah. And you know, Frankfort and Louisville get a lot of headlines being the bigger cities and Buffalo Trace being under, but there are a lot of small communities still dealing with it, like McLean County.
Matt Jones
I did, I read a story on Buffalo Trace. They're getting back to their production. Hasn't been stalled, but that whole backside of that mudslide, they lost, I think a couple some offices and things. They. They're still really dealing with that over there.
Shannon The Dude
Yeah, the water's down. There's still a lot of damage. That was, to me, stood out because I had just been there a few weeks before, and then like the. The Blanton's bottling building.
Matt Jones
Right.
Shannon The Dude
Going in there, and they're doing it by hand. I had just been in there, and then you see in the water is above the entrance. That was a kind of surreal sight.
Matt Jones
Well, they're lucky it didn't. Was it worse than it was? You know, that hill slide, that mudslide starts falling down years. It's a wonder, Shannon, that more of it didn't fall down into the river. It kind of got lucky there, I think.
Ryan Lemon
Could have been. Yeah, it could have been a lot worse, but still really bad. In Louisville, there's houses that are just like on the side of these big. I don't know if you would call them a cliff, but basically there's houses in Louisville that are just feet away from falling into a river. So we're dealing with that even here in Louisville from the flooding just a couple of weeks ago.
Matt Jones
So here, you know, life kind of moves on for most of us, but a lot of people still dealing with it. So if you can find a way to help out these people, I'm sure they would very much appreciate it. I got to tell you this. Join Jody Demling. First time we've uttered his name on this show in a while.
Shannon The Dude
Okay, let's join him.
Matt Jones
Join Jody Demling and other racing Experts at the 6th Annual 840 WH Derby Betting Preview night presented by Twin spires. It's this Tuesday, April 22 from 7 to 9 at Mike Lenning's restaurant on Cane run road in Louisville. Tickets are just $20 in advance, but seating is going fast. Shannon The Dude
Did you fill out your credential application?
Matt Jones
I didn't because I don't want to go.
Ryan Lemon
There we go.
Shannon The Dude
You're going to sabotage your credential process.
Matt Jones
Fill out a credential request. You don't have to go.
Shannon The Dude
Okay.
Ryan Lemon
I'm going to remember that next time.
Shannon The Dude
I know somebody in Amsterdam that won't love you saying that when he. When he says you have your credential.
Matt Jones
Are we supposed to be going into a show? There again.
Shannon The Dude
Have you not been checking your email?
Matt Jones
No.
Ryan Lemon
No.
Shannon The Dude
Well, you should check your email.
Matt Jones
Do we have a show at what on Oaks Day?
Shannon The Dude
Again, I don't know if we have a show, but our bosses at iHeart emailed us and said, fill this out.
Matt Jones
I saw that.
Shannon The Dude
And you just didn't want to fill it out.
Matt Jones
I just thought that they were. Everybody that's gonna have to work. I know we're not doing any shows there.
Shannon The Dude
I don't think they just sent it out for fun. If they. They said fill this out, I think they meant to fill it out. I'm a big company man.
Matt Jones
I'm busy that day.
Ryan Lemon
Okay, you're busy. You're having a party that day.
Shannon The Dude
Everybody remember this on Monday. I've warned him.
Matt Jones
I didn't see it. If we knew we were doing a show there, it's different. But if we're going there just to watch and hang out for 12 hours, I got other things to do that day.
Shannon The Dude
Well, the subject line of the email is 3Express points, ALL CAPS. IMPORTANT. 3Express points. So I just thought, seems like it's pretty important. It says each of you should have this or already have this and you need to fill this out. So I just. When I saw that, I thought, oh, should probably fill this out.
Matt Jones
So Shannon, when I saw it, I'm thinking to myself, this is for the people who are actually working.
Ryan Lemon
You know what?
Matt Jones
They probably think we're all supposed to be there doing a show, but we're not. So I don't have to fill it out.
Ryan Lemon
Don't feel like you're alone because it's the exact same thing that I thought. I hit delete. Because, I mean, that's. That's for, you know, if you want to have a credential, you know, there's your option to get right.
Matt Jones
Exactly.
Ryan Lemon
I don't know.
Shannon The Dude
I guess I misread. Important all caps with 6 exclamation points around it.
Ryan Lemon
Important if you're going.
Matt Jones
If you're going, you got to fill it out by last night, I think was the deadline.
Ryan Lemon
Oops.
Matt Jones
Shannon, I'll be.
Shannon The Dude
I can't save you all on Monday.
Matt Jones
Boxer shorts. All right, we'll take our break, come back. Go Back to phone lines. 859-280-2287. Ryan, Drew, and Shannon. We'll be right back on Kentucky Sports Radio.

Matt Jones
This is Lazy Tuesday.
Ryan Lemon
Wow.
Matt Jones
From the archives.
Shannon The Dude
That's the best part.
Matt Jones
So that song was swept the country when it first released. Kind of got tucked away in the archives. Corey Price found it, dug it up, of course. Legendary song.
Ryan Lemon
Is that a song? Because after I hear it now, I probably could have left that in the podcast. I don't even think that's a song.
Shannon The Dude
Yeah, I think you could. They're just talking.
Matt Jones
They're just talking.
Ryan Lemon
Let me just.
T Mobile Representative
For our arch rival.
Ryan Lemon
There we go.
Shannon The Dude
Don't even.
Ryan Lemon
For the podcast listeners. Let me give you a taste.
Shannon The Dude
Don't match in the words Duke. Bad memories. Talking bad memories about Kentucky basketball. Love Kentucky basketball. We love Kentucky basketball.
Matt Jones
Tom Leach. Leach. There's one part don't they do Bill Kitely.
Shannon The Dude
That's at the beginning, you know. Now it's very common. There's videos all over the Internet. We got TikTok. It's very normal. But in the early YouTube days, you know, there wasn't a lot to watch. And this is one that went viral around bbm. We put it on ksr. Now, it's not uncommon at all to see someone making a music video, but this was. This is one of the originals.
Matt Jones
Fun to go down memory lane with that song.
Shannon The Dude
It is. So there you go. Collar was Jimmy. Little Jimmy, I think was the name. Now he can hear part of history.
Matt Jones
Teach little Jimmy about the Lazy Tuesday.
Ryan Lemon
We're not referring to that as a song now. That was just spoken word.
Shannon The Dude
Spoken word, yes.
Ryan Lemon
Yeah.
Matt Jones
Somebody sent me a picture of Calhoun, Kentucky, which is McLean County. My goodness. I had no idea. I mean, it is completely underwater. The river has completely flooded it.
Shannon The Dude
Yeah, it's in there. I didn't know either. I actually feel bad that I didn't know being close to my home county. But that looks awful. Hope they can get back. Back to normal soon.
Matt Jones
Well, I think that's. Like I said, it's been underreported. I don't think the rest of the state. We all realize that it's over there in McLean county, you know, still. The guy said the school's out until.
Shannon The Dude
Further notice, I'd say so That's a pretty, pretty bad sight there. What you show me that aerial view. So we're thinking of them. Hope everything gets better soon.
Matt Jones
We'll tweet that out. Also, I tweeted out the picture of my gold Mustang, but we'll tweet out that picture of the Calhoun. Two former UK baseball players, Johnny Hummel and Nick Lopez have joined the Savannah Bananas baseball teams. Probably maybe one of the. They play against each other.
Shannon The Dude
Maybe they're on different teams. But it's the Banana League now. There's more than Savannah. They're not on the Savannah team, but one might be in Texas.
Matt Jones
Okay.
Shannon The Dude
There's been a lot of copycats, I guess original ones, but it's banana ball.
Matt Jones
Banana ball. But they play against the Bananas every game, right?
Shannon The Dude
Yeah.
Matt Jones
And they travel across the country. So two former cats playing in. Well, they're playing banana ball is what they're doing.
Shannon The Dude
Lopez especially, he. He kind of feels built for it. He was kind of silly over here. Even though he's good. He had the big Raleigh fingers mustache and had a lot of personalities. So I think he has found his calling in the Banana League.
Matt Jones
So we go check them out. I wish.
Shannon The Dude
Did you go in there in Louisville?
Matt Jones
No, I didn't.
Shannon The Dude
That seems like something you'd want to do.
Matt Jones
I wanted to go, but I couldn't go. I was out of town that weekend or something, I don't remember. But maybe they'll do another pass through and play play here with these UK guys. I think they'd get a good crowd that came through Kentucky again.
Shannon The Dude
Yeah, I couldn't go to Louisville either. Those are like getting Taylor Swift tickets. You had to be on and get them, you know, in seconds. But I hope they come back through through too. I'd love to see that live.
Matt Jones
Shannon, did you go?
Ryan Lemon
I did not, no. I wasn't able to get tickets in the lottery. I mean, who would have thought?
Matt Jones
Oh, they had a lottery for tickets.
Ryan Lemon
Yeah, it was crazy. Yeah. You can't just go up and buy tickets at the ticket box, ticket, ticket office. You have to like win a lottery to get the tickets.
Matt Jones
Well, if you've ever went quick, they had like a 30 for 30 or something on the Savannah Bananas. Have you ever watched that documentary? It's incredible how this is just blossomed into this entity that it is today.
Shannon The Dude
Yeah, we see the clips to go viral. Makes me wonder, you know, when a guy does a five minute dance and walks up and gets a hit, like how often do they actually get, like, how many times do they miss and have to do a retake? That's why I want to see it live and see what it's really like. Not just the, you know, 20 second clips. We get online.
Matt Jones
859-280-2287. That's our phone number if you want to call and get on board. So let's get another caller. Shannon, who we got Tyler. Tyler, go ahead, Tyler.
Caller
Hey, morning, guys. I apologize I missed the first hour, but I don't know if this came up, but I was at the engineering lunch yesterday.
Shannon The Dude
Oh, tell us all about.
Caller
Just wanted to say. I want to say I really appreciate Ryan coming out. He's right in the middle. He's right in the middle of five hours of technical presentations. So very dry, not a lot of humor. So I think everybody really appreciated the energy he brought in to lunch.
Matt Jones
So nice. I went back.
Caller
I'm a podcast listener usually, so you mentioned, you talked about it. I went back last night and listened to all of it. I think you guys prepped him well. You know, you got him set up, got him a little. Maybe had a little nervous energy, but I think everybody loved it. We even had to basically cut him off for time. Like he filled the time allotted and more. And we, we. I think it even stretched a little further to get us to the next session in time. But no, it was great. Let's sign you up for some more, Ryan.
Matt Jones
I didn't know where that was going, but he must not be one of the guys that was throwing there. You didn't throw the protractor at me when I was in there?
Caller
No, no, no, no.
Matt Jones
Well, appreciate it. Thank you.
Ryan Lemon
So you're so good you can now do seminars for people on how to do public speaking.
Matt Jones
Well, I do work for Executive Train and we, we sell our training services. So I could probably be the training trainer guy that does public speaking.
Shannon The Dude
You need to get a website for speaking engagements, not just say yes to emails. You know, like celebrities. They have a site, $10,000 for me to come speak at. You already have two very good endorsements from people who attended yesterday. So why don't you turn this into a business?
Matt Jones
I mean, I did get this free T shirt.
Shannon The Dude
We got coach up on your business acumen. You need money, not free T shirts. Free T shirts are great, but you can now put a price tag on this speaking since it went so well yesterday. Like you said, you went the full 30 minutes. They had to play the wrap it up box for you to stop talking.
Matt Jones
We have the gal who was leading it kind of got up from her table, was standing beside the podium like, okay, I knew I was about up. I looked at her. I looked there. She's getting ready to step on stage. I got, like I said, I got to tell one more joke. So I told my room full of timeout joke at the end it with, oh, place went nuts. I mean, it was like, you know, going crazy.
Shannon The Dude
Ryan lemon.com Five grand. A speaking engagement.
Matt Jones
Who's next? Shannon?
Ryan Lemon
Phone lines are empty.
Matt Jones
Phone lines.
Ryan Lemon

Matt Jones
Appreciate it, Shannon. I should have mentioned. And we're talking about UK baseball. They're at Tennessee this weekend. That start.
Shannon The Dude
Yeah.
Matt Jones
Starts tonight, right?
Shannon The Dude
Yep. Got take down the Vols. SEC slate's been pretty tough. Don't have many series wins. It's. It'd be nice to still one down.
Matt Jones
In Knoxville and Tennessee baseball. Their fans are such a joy and delight to be around down there.
Shannon The Dude
Yeah, I mentioned this earlier in the week. I had a friend in Knoxville invite me down. I said yes. And then the next day I'm like, wait a minute. I don't want to go to Knoxville and be around all them. I'll watch it on tv, but I hope they get a win.
Matt Jones
You got an update on your play or another dress rehearsal or when you're going to finally know your lines?
Shannon The Dude
I haven't focused on the lines yet. I'll get to that. Got a busy Easter weekend with family visiting, so not any Real new updates. But I'm looking forward. It's a week from today.
Matt Jones
I've had a lot of people ask. They want to come watch the play. How do they do? How do they get tickets?
Shannon The Dude
You go to the Lexington Children's Theatre website. It's called the Curtain call. It's there. The price of the ticket all goes to charity. We're doing this for goodwill. There's a lot of kids in their summer programs and they travel the state and to put on the productions they do, they need a little money. So this is a fundraiser. If you buy a ticket and if you're there, there's auctions and fun games, live auction, silent auction. I think you can even bid online. So if you're interested, check it out at Lexington Children's Theater's website.
Matt Jones
Is it a thing where if it's so successful, you might have a second night the next night? They should have more than one night.
Shannon The Dude
I agree. I'm willing to tour the state if they want to, but it's a one one off thing. But if it goes well, I might ask them if I can pursue other opportunities within the organization.
Matt Jones
How did they get you to do this anyway? I don't even know how that started.
Shannon The Dude
A guy named Kevin who was in here at the bar yesterday, you just missed him. He had to rush out here. He invited me and I had just been singing the Greatest Showman around my house. So he caught me at a great time. Kind of thought I was already on Broadway when I saw the email. So I was a quick yes. And then a few days later I get started getting the information. I'm thinking what have I signed up for? But it'll be here next week.
Matt Jones
There we go, Drew in on the stage. We'll be right back. Alien topic coming up here on Sports Radio. TJ Smith, personal injury attorney.
Shannon The Dude
Call tj. He'll make him pay.
Ryan Lemon
Now more of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage. Here's Matt Jones.
Matt Jones
The long awaited Drew Palooza Alien segment is about to happen. So who is our alien segment sponsored.
Shannon The Dude
By Drew UK Federal Credit Union. They understand that home is where the heart is, but it's also where the equity is. With the market leading home equity line of credit, you can improve your home and take advantage of rates as low as 6.5% APR plus there are no annual fees, no closing costs and you can draw your funds only when you need them. So measure twice and apply once for a home equity line of credit from UKFCU, visit ukfcu.org or visit one of the seven local branches to see how a HELOC can make your home improvement dreams a reality. APR percentage. I guess I wasn't supposed to read that. Federally insured by NCUA equal housing lender NMLS number 491194.
Matt Jones
If there's one thing UK Federal Credit Union knows, it's aliens. And I know you wanted to do an alien segment when you hosted Drew Palooza last week, but you have so much going on. Yeah, didn't get to it. So before Matt gets here Monday, I thought we got to give you your chance to let you do your alien segment.
Shannon The Dude
Shannon, I said we can't just. I can't just create a alien thing. I need some stuff in the news. But luckily five days ago there was some news.
Matt Jones
Right?
Shannon The Dude
So I'm just gonna read you the. The news story, get your opinion.
Matt Jones
Okay.
Shannon The Dude
And then Shan, I will give our takes. But this is as of five days ago.
Matt Jones
All right.
Shannon The Dude
If I didn't have this, I don't really know what I'd be saying. Have you seen the declassified Cold War era CIA files?
Matt Jones
No, but tell me about it.
Shannon The Dude
It's a big deal. A lot of people are talking about it years ago. This is dug up from a 250 page KGB report that is recounting the events that happened about a flying saucer over the Ukraine. These. These Soviets claim that a. A ship, I guess we'll call it. It had five short humanoids with large heads and large black eyes.
Matt Jones
Don't laugh.
Shannon The Dude
This is news. This is on actual news sources. This isn't me on Reddit. This isn't me on all the weird websites I go to. This is news.
Matt Jones
Classified documents.
Shannon The Dude
Yes, several news outlets covered this, alright? It said it fell to Earth. And these five short humanoids with large heads and large black eyes came out. And when they escaped the debris from their ruined ship, they huddled together and merged into a single object. This is according to soldiers in a CIA document that was recently declassified. Are you sticking with me?
Matt Jones
I'm with you so far. They merged into. Made one big alien.
Shannon The Dude
I guess I know what you know. I'm just reading it straight from this docket. They even uploaded the actual document. So this isn't just people typing crap on a blog. Yes, this exists at least the documents claiming we're not to the crazy part yet.
Matt Jones
It's crazy.
Shannon The Dude
So after these five little fellows with big eyes.
Matt Jones
Birds turn into one?
Shannon The Dude
Yeah. Transformers 23 soldiers who had gathered around to watch the phenomenon. They were all turned to stone. There you go.
Ryan Lemon
There you go. Medusa. Yeah, that's how Stonehenge became a thing. All those rocks, they used to be soldiers.
Shannon The Dude
So in short, CIA document.
Matt Jones
Yeah.
Shannon The Dude
About some Russian KGB soldiers. They're watching this thing fly around, it wrecks, hits the ground hard. Maybe as hard as Katy Perry ship did the other day. They all come crawling out. Jeff Bezos opened the door and let them out. And the soldiers are gathered around 23 of them. And these five things merge into one and then turn them all to stone.
Matt Jones
So where are these 23 stone soldiers now?
Ryan Lemon
The Stonehenge?
Matt Jones
Oh, they put them on top of each other and put it together.
Shannon The Dude
I didn't read that part.
Ryan Lemon
Here's a quote here. It says just to kind of follow up on what you said there. In a few seconds, the spears grew much bigger, exploded by flaring up with an extremely bright light. At that very instant, 23 soldiers who had watched the phenomenon turned into stone poles.
Matt Jones
Okay, that's not possible.
Shannon The Dude
But why would it be in a CIA document that was just declassified?
Matt Jones
I think these Russian soldiers may have told that story by. That they, they had too much Russian vodka that night. I don't know.
Shannon The Dude
You're blaming. No part of you believes that? Five little fellows with big heads and big black eyes.
Matt Jones
With big black eyes? No.
Shannon The Dude
Not at all.
Matt Jones
Not even a little bit. Do you?
Shannon The Dude
As someone who, who believes there things out there, I have a hard time believing it. But I mean this is, these are new sources sharing it. This isn't some wacky dream or some guy I met on the street with tinfoil on his head. This is, this is in documents. You can read them. 250 pages.
Matt Jones
That's a lot of reading. Shannon, what do you think?
Ryan Lemon
Seems a little far fetched. Like why haven't they come down and turned all of us into stone if they can do that?
Matt Jones
That's true. If they have that capability, yeah. Why is it just these 23 Russian soldiers?
Ryan Lemon
Here's a picture in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Matt Jones
You got a picture of the stone Russian soldier?
Shannon The Dude
Well, this is. They, they fire these missiles. There's, there's a few photos. There they are with their missiles. They're not stone yet. And then where the next photo shows the object.
Matt Jones
Who took the picture?
Shannon The Dude
I don't know, I wasn't there. But it says Universal History Archive. And then there's. There's the thing where they were shooting at it and then there's the documents.
Matt Jones
Yeah, I think there's way too much partying going on that night. And they came back and they tried to cya. They came up with this ridiculous story how they got so drunk that they didn't do what they were supposed to do and they turned into. They said they must of their guys turned into stone.
Shannon The Dude
Well, they're still stone, so they didn't come back and do anything. There were two soldiers who were not turned to stone. They're farther back. Says they were in the shade and they weren't exposed to the luminous explosion. They were the two survivors.
Matt Jones
Those are the two that verified this story? Yeah, those are the two.
Shannon The Dude
Are you calling the KGB a liar?
Matt Jones
Calling those two guys drunk is what I'm calling them. Those two guys. Now I can get. I can go along with like there's recent reports about foreign planets having water on it. Maybe there's some life in this water I can agree with. There's alien life out there as far as like maybe in the water, in the soil, but there's not big eyed little five foot green men that morph into one big guy.
Shannon The Dude
All right, well, when they get here, you better look out. I'm gonna be like the two guys hiding while you go check it out. It says the aliens possess such weapons and technology that go beyond our wildest assumptions. They can stand up for themselves if attacked. So don't. Don't be shooting down any, any crafts if you see them in the air.
Matt Jones
Well, that's another thing, Shannon. The state of Michigan has reported like this unbelievable resurgence of ufo. UFO sightings like just in the past month or so, like all over. I don't know what it is about Michigan, but they're like all over lakes.
Shannon The Dude
They want the lake.
Matt Jones
They want the lake. Is that what it is?
Ryan Lemon
Possibly. I think that now you're so knowledgeable that you could go do like your own ALIE research luncheon and you could speak on it for 25 to 30 minutes. What do you think? You think you'll do that now?
Matt Jones
No, but I did when we. I did a late game postgame show one time. It went like 1:00 in the morning, 2:00 in the morning. And we switched over to the alien show in the middle of our post game show just to hear what they were talking about. And of course it's just ridiculousness, little green men and things like that. But like I said, I can be talked into having life out there somewhere. Just not little green men that turn people into stone.
Shannon The Dude
What about when we went to Roswell, to the. I guess it was a museum and they had actual evidence of these. There's been some crashes. They had photos. I mean, you were there. You've been basically ground zero of all this. Just no part of you believed it at all.
Matt Jones
Total Photoshop bull crap is what all that was out there. Tourist trap is what that is.
Shannon The Dude
I'm already nervous talking about it on the air because I don't want them coming after them. Or the kgb. Neither one of them. I don't want aliens or KGB on me. But you downplayed it. I'm worried about you.
Ryan Lemon
Well, when Ryan doesn't come on the show Monday because he's turned to stone, we'll know what happened to him over the weekend.
Shannon The Dude
Or if he's not at our Oak show on Friday, it's because I warned him to fill out the email and he didn't.
Matt Jones
Okay, here's. Here's something. I'll give you this. And just. In the last month, there have been UFO sightings in Michigan, California, New Jersey, Florida. All documented reports of unidentified flying objects flying over the their land.
Shannon The Dude
So you're saying that, but you're also not believing it.
Matt Jones
I think those are drones. There's some sort of drones or China sending over, like, spy stuff on us.
Shannon The Dude
Would you rather it be China or aliens?
Matt Jones
Well, if you're a. If your alien can turn me to stone, I'm taking China.
Shannon The Dude
All right, let's. That's Ryan's thoughts on aliens. I don't necessarily believe the Stone thing, but it is. It is reported everywhere about this document. I guess the document could be made up, but this isn't just me being crazy and making some up for radio. It's on a lot of websites this week.
Matt Jones
So there is the Drew Alien segment from Drew Palooza. Little carryover riveting. Good stuff.
Shannon The Dude
Yeah. There you go.
Matt Jones
Everyone, I do want to tell you a text I just got on the Avision Glass text machine. First of all, there's a picture of Andy Beshear that leads the text message, and it says, hey, Leslie, Andy Beshear here. Governor of Kentucky and vice chair of the DGA with an important message. This message is only nine sentences long, so I need you to read every single word. That's as far as I'm getting.
Shannon The Dude
Who's Leslie?
Matt Jones
I get. I get messages for Leslie all the time. I don't know where they've got that at, but they think I'm Leslie.
Shannon The Dude
Have you any more random pizza deliveries at your house like you had a couple weeks ago?
Matt Jones
That guy totally messed up. That was. It's like I said, he'd paid for the pizzas. It might have been funny. But he totally wasted those guys money. Wasted those guys time. That was not funny.
Shannon The Dude
I would love to just sit and read your phone sometime with all the stuff you get.
Matt Jones
Well, this number, but Andy Mashear is just now getting blocked because I'm not. Leslie. 859-280-2287. We got any callers, Shannon?
Ryan Lemon
Yeah, we do. Let's talk to Russ.
Matt Jones
All right, Russ, go ahead.
Russ
Hey, guys. Greetings from Vanderburg county, but I'm down here in Loveland. Fort Walton Beach, Florida, and a little spring break. Hey, if there would happen to be green little people, would Ryan have to go up and touch them just to make sure that they. They are real like you did at the Devil's Tower and stuff? And real quick. Okay, and real quick, the. The Gilmore player that's coming back to Kentucky from Nebraska. I know that in the past years, things were kind of getting a little lax. And do you think, you know, with him being dismissed from the Nebraska team, that will kind of maybe have some people thinking, okay, are we going to tighten the ship or are we just looking to get the players that can help out our team this year? I'll hang up and listen. Thanks, guys. Have a good weekend.
Matt Jones
Appreciate it, Russ. Have a good time down there in Florida. I think that's the big question. If you're going to take this kid on who's, like, on not just a second chance, but a third chance. After he got kicked, it kind of. Well, he kind of got dismissed from Kentucky. Now he's been dismissed from Nebraska. Now you're bringing him back. It has to be a zero tolerance policy with this guy. You can't let anything slide with him. I think it's the only way it's going to work, Drew.
Shannon The Dude
Yeah. And like you asked, you know, they're adding him because they want to win football games. The receiver room needs some bodies. I mean, that's the reason they're doing it. But it could be the case, you know, he fell so far, realized if I'm going to reach my potential or have any kind of career about this, I got to straighten up, get serious. Maybe he. Maybe he needed to goof up to learn his lesson, but we really won't know until it all plays out.
Matt Jones
Well, that's what the message I got I read yesterday, like, he's a good kid. He just makes some really stupid, bad mistakes. Well, now's your chance. I mean, you make one more mistake, you may be forgotten forever.
Shannon The Dude
Yeah, it'll be zero tolerance for him this time around, I would expect.
Matt Jones
Got A text message for go to the break. My father in law is a retired air force pilot. He says you can't find a military pilot anywhere that hasn't chased something in the air that they can't explain.
Shannon The Dude
Yep, lots of those out there. They all have stories.
Matt Jones
They all have stories.
Shannon The Dude
Ryan just here dismissing it like they don't know what they're talking about, but.
Matt Jones
They don't say anything. It turns somebody into stone.
Shannon The Dude
Okay, I agree that one's a little far fetched, you know.
Matt Jones

Welcome back final segment of Kentucky sports radio. It's our final segment actually without Matt who will be back Monday for sure. We got some good stuff planned next week so be sure to tune in next week for his return. We're gonna do our draft king segment here. There are the play in games in tonight in the NBA. We got two of them. Heat Hawks and Mavericks Grizzlies. Heat Hawks. What's that play look like, Drew?
Shannon The Dude
The Heat are a one and a half point favorite in Atlanta. You like the Heat of the Hawks there.
Matt Jones
Tyler Hero looks so good the other night. Him and Bam both look so good for the Heat the other night. And what Trey Smith had like some.
Shannon The Dude
Trey Young.
Matt Jones
Trey Young. Trey Smith. Who's Trey Smith? Trey Young.
Shannon The Dude
You've been on fire with the names.
Matt Jones
He had a little controversy in his game the other day.
Shannon The Dude
Threw a ball at the ref.
Matt Jones
Yeah.
Shannon The Dude
Can't be doing that.
Ryan Lemon
Fake the ref too.
Matt Jones
So I'm going to go the Heat.
Shannon The Dude
Going with the Heat as well. Side with the Cats.
Matt Jones
Yeah. What about you, Shannon?
Ryan Lemon
All right, let's make it three. We're all going with the Heat.
Matt Jones
Going with the Heat tonight.
Shannon The Dude
Adam, spread one and a half. I'll cover that.
Matt Jones
And then the late game tonight. The Mavericks AD PJ Washington at Grizzlies. John Morant.
Shannon The Dude
Memphis is a six and a half point favorite.
Jimmy
Whoa.
Shannon The Dude
I'm going with the Cats to cover that. I don't know if they'll win. Davis in Washington with the Mavs, but I think they'll cover the six and a half. We'll have a close game.
Matt Jones
That's a lot of points.
Shannon The Dude
It is.
Matt Jones
I would lean. Yeah. Mavs mas may not win, but I think they cover that. So I'll go the Mavs to cover.
Ryan Lemon
I'll take the Mavs to cover. And Mavs to win.
Shannon The Dude
Ooh. Little money line.
Ryan Lemon
Moneyline with the Mavs.
Matt Jones
So we're all going together. All unanimous.
Shannon The Dude
I'm going to parlay the Heat and the maps. We got two Cats on each team. Be fun. Little Friday night.
Matt Jones
Who have you picked to win the NBA? Who's. Who's in the finals?
Ryan Lemon
It's a play in game.
Matt Jones
No, but I mean, we get to the NBA championship, who's in the finals?
Ryan Lemon
Okay.
Shannon The Dude
I mean, they're the favorite, but Oklahoma City has been so good.
Matt Jones
Yeah.
Shannon The Dude
I'll say OKC Shay gets to the finals, and then it's going to be probably Cavs or Celtics. I'll say the Celtics experience gets them over the Cavs even though the Cavs had the better regular season.
Matt Jones
So you say Celtics? Thunder.
Shannon The Dude
Yeah. Okay.
Matt Jones
Who you got?
Shannon The Dude
So kind of a lame pick, but I think that's what it would be.
Ryan Lemon
Well, I got to go with my Celtics and I think probably. Would you say Thunder?
Matt Jones
Yeah.
Ryan Lemon
Yeah, I kind of agree with that. I'll go. I'll go Nuggets. Just to be different.
Matt Jones
Well, that's.
Shannon The Dude
Well, I was going to say. Well, I don't want to take a pig. They're four seed. They're sneaky. Four seed.
Ryan Lemon
Yeah.
Shannon The Dude
Jamal Murray wants to get hot. We all know what Jokic can do, but Murray has a good post.
Matt Jones
I'm a Shane. I'm going Celtics Nuggets, I think, for the NBA championship. So there's your expertise. Draft king picks go to DraftKings. We're a DK partner, so we're all proud to support them as much as we can.
Shannon The Dude
Or get on DK horse and do some Keeneland. That's what I'm gonna do this afternoon.
Matt Jones
Keeneland will be crazy this weekend. It's Easter weekend. Today's Good Friday. People are off work. Weather supposed to be spectacular today.
Shannon The Dude
I'm pretty mad at myself. This is the third straight Keeneland meet I'm gonna miss. I got to get back out there.
Matt Jones
Yeah.
Shannon The Dude
Been too long. Usually. I try to go a couple times to meet. I've been too distant the last couple years.
Matt Jones
Well, if you feel like you're presidential, like they want you to for the derby, you can go anytime. All right, let's go back to the phone lines, get a couple calls before we get out of here. Shannon, who we got?
Ryan Lemon
Miles.
Matt Jones
Miles, go ahead, Miles. You got to be quick.
Shannon The Dude
Hey, guys. Hey.
Miles
So perfect on call about aliens. I'm actually. I live up here in Alaska, and if you want to see some kind of spooky things or hear about people disappearing and get some real evidence of aliens, this is kind of the place you want to visit. But.
Matt Jones
Yeah.
Shannon The Dude
Have you seen anything firsthand?
Miles
I mean, you go out in the woods and you see weird lights, things flying over, stuff like that. I mean, yeah, I mean, you could definitely see a lot of things here that. And I've seen some things that it's just, like, could be explained by aliens.
Matt Jones
There we go. Well, apparently, that's not. It's. Michigan's not the hub of alien activity. It's Alaska.
Shannon The Dude
A lot of it's going on in Alaska.
Matt Jones
Yeah. All right, Shannon, who's next?
Ryan Lemon
Let's go to Jimmy.
Matt Jones
Jimmy, what's the odds this is another alien question. Go ahead, Jimmy.
Jimmy
What's up, boys? Not actually an alien question, but I've been meaning to call in for a couple, like, days now, and now that we're on dumb ways to die, this is the perfect time to do it. I got on the wrong side of tick tock the other night. Have you ever seen cave diving?
Shannon The Dude
No. Tell us about it.
Jimmy
Well, it's certainly a foolproof way to cross the rainbow Bridge with the fact that you go underwater in a cave system that's already claustrophobic. So if you want to. If you want to waste some needless time, go over to Tick Tock and search cave diving. My only other thing was. What's your top three Tyler Childer songs going into the weekend? Thanks, boys.
Matt Jones
Appreciate it very much. White House Roads. My favorite. It will always be my favorite song. I just sang it out there for Mario on one of our videos.
Shannon The Dude
Oh, that's what you were doing outside. I wonder why you all stepped out there. I've been singing that I will wait for you song a lot. Is that the name of it?
Matt Jones
Is that the name of the song?
Shannon The Dude
Yeah, that's been in my head a lot. I like Lady Mae Virgie. Lady Mae's my other feathered Indians is one of the first ones that put them on the map.
Matt Jones
Take me back to Virgie.
Shannon The Dude
Yeah, it's been non stop Childers around my house for a couple weeks, so a lot of them are in my head.
Matt Jones
Jenny, you got any more?
Ryan Lemon
Now you guys are the Tyler Childers fans, so I think I'm probably the wrong person to ask, but.
Shannon The Dude
In your love. That's the one.
Ryan Lemon
Yeah.
Matt Jones
All right, let's get one more call before we get out of here. Who is it?
Ryan Lemon
Steve.
Matt Jones
Steve. Go ahead, Steve.
Caller
Yeah. Did you all mention Bird man about the married players?
Shannon The Dude
No, but somebody sent it to me. I didn't get to add it, but go ahead, tell us about it.
Caller
Yeah. His wife passed away while he was playing at uk. She suddenly died, and then his mom wasn't short after that.
Matt Jones
Yeah, right.
Caller
Yeah.
Matt Jones
I'm glad you got. I forgot that story, but you're right. Yeah, they were married. Music. His wife passed away tragically, and we.
Shannon The Dude
Talked about him last week when we were doing our history lesson, but he passed away just a few weeks ago, too.
Matt Jones
Shannon Cash. Daniel about to make his OVW debut. Where is it?
Ryan Lemon
That's going to be one week from tonight, and it's going to be at the Appalachian Wireless arena as a part of hillbilly days, so. Yeah. Yeah. So make sure you get out there. He's going to be wrestling superior Tony Evans, and it's going to be a big event for. For OVW and especially for Cash Daniel making his OVW debut in his hometown.
Shannon The Dude
I think that Tony Evans got made. Cash look 7ft tall in that video.
Matt Jones
Well, Cash is a big guy, and I think all the mountains will show up and support him making his OVW debut a week from tonight in Pikeville.
Shannon The Dude
He'll be on Monday.
Matt Jones
It'll be great fun. All right, Drew Palooza and Ryan Palooza is over. Matt Palooza starts on Monday. We'll see you then. Goodbye.
KSR Podcast Episode Summary: April 18, 2025 – Hour 2
Podcast Information:
The second hour of the KSR podcast picks up with Matt Jones mentioning his upcoming fellowship in Amsterdam, creating anticipation among listeners for his return next Monday. The crew discusses Matt's experiences abroad, including his attendance at what appeared to be a major darts event.
Shannon "The Dude" Garth expresses interest in Matt’s darts event experience, highlighting the lively atmosphere comparable to European soccer events.
The crew shifts focus to significant flooding in McLean County, Kentucky, impacting schools and sporting events. The hosts express concern over the lack of widespread media coverage, emphasizing the severity of the situation in both western and eastern Kentucky.
Shannon underscores the ongoing struggles of smaller communities amidst the flood, contrasting with the attention larger cities like Frankfort and Louisville receive.
Matt also touches on the impact on Buffalo Trace’s production due to mudslides and ongoing water damage.
One of the standout discussions revolves around a recently declassified CIA document detailing a Soviet encounter with a UFO over Ukraine. The document describes five short humanoids with large heads and black eyes emerging from a crashed flying saucer, leading to the petrification of 23 Soviet soldiers.
The hosts debate the credibility of the report, with Matt expressing skepticism about the plausibility of aliens possessing such destructive abilities.
Ryan Lemon adds to the skepticism, questioning why if such alien capabilities exist, only a specific group was affected.
Shannon points out that similar UFO sightings have been reported across various states, including Michigan, California, New Jersey, and Florida, though Matt attributes these to advanced drone technology or foreign espionage.
The segment concludes with discussions on local UFO activity in Michigan and Alaska, with Miles from Fort Walton Beach, Florida, sharing firsthand accounts of unusual sightings in Alaska.
The podcast continues with updates on UK (University of Kentucky) sports, including baseball and men's basketball. The hosts discuss recent performances, upcoming games, and the addition of former UK players to the Savannah Bananas baseball team.
The hosts also touch upon local events, such as the Boy and Girls Club ribbon-cutting in Glasgow, attended by notable figures like Coach Mark Pope, Trent Noah, and Brandon Garrison. They express appreciation for the community engagement efforts to reconnect with fans.
Several callers engage with the hosts, sharing personal stories and feedback. Notably, a caller commends Ryan Lemon for bringing energy to a technical presentation luncheon, praising his ability to infuse humor into a dry setting.
Another caller from Alaska shares eerie experiences with unexplained phenomena and UFO sightings, aligning with the podcast’s alien discussion.
In addition, listeners inquire about UK sports decisions and the inclusion of certain athletes, highlighting the community's active involvement and concern for team dynamics.
Throughout the episode, several advertisements are seamlessly integrated into the conversation:
T-Mobile Ads: Repeated promotions emphasizing T-Mobile's 5G network and device switch offers.
DraftKings Sportsbook: Promotion for betting on NBA playoffs with a special promo code.
UK Federal Credit Union: Advertisement for home equity lines of credit.

Matt highlights a text message mix-up involving the Governor of Kentucky, adding a humorous anecdote to conclude the episode.
The hosts wrap up by teasing next week's content, anticipating Matt’s return and continued coverage of UK sports.
