Person says, Matt, I feel like you guys, when you go on the road, get a little giddy and silly. This is like that too. These are my favorite days. Well, I hope that's. I hope that's true. We'll be here again tomorrow, probably do this again. And then I'll be here Wednesday and Thursday. They'll be back in Lexington. I do think when we get out on the road and we don't have a crowd, in my opinion, these are our best shows. I don't know what everybody else thinks, but I think, Drew, these are our best shows.
Drew Franklin
I completely agree. Part of it is I think I've slept three hours in two days. But also when we're on the road, we spend every hour together leading up to it, as opposed to we're just living our lives and meet at the bar at 10am so we've been together all week. We have stories. There's a lot more to add.
Shannon The Dude
Yeah, I agree with that. And then, you know, traveling's fun. Watching people in their different habitats. We were all talking about how last night, like, this is the only time we ever even know Shannon exists outside of these two hours or when we go on the road. It's the only time he, like, it's the only time he speaks to us outside in public. So that helps. And Mario, you, you don't get to experience, like, this is your first time out this way, right? Yeah. Yeah.
Billy
First time in Arizona.
Shannon The Dude
Yeah. You asked the Uber driver if there were going to be insects that were going to attack you. You meant scorpions.
Billy
Scorpions, spiders.
Shannon The Dude
Did you think they were just like white centipedes? You're scared. You're scared of. You're scared of centipedes. But they're little. They look scary.
Billy
You see, have you seen the big ones? The. The 100 legs?
Drew Franklin
Centipedes?
Noah
Yeah, they're fast.
Billy
These are, these are videos that I see.
Shannon The Dude
But don't watch that video. Don't look that one up.
Drew Franklin
You were as soon as we landed Your head was on a swivel looking for scorpions.
Shannon The Dude
Running around.
Billy
Monsters.
Shannon The Dude
You acted, you asked him and said, like, are you gonna be. Are they gonna come attack us? And we were like, we're staying at a resort, Mario. Like, do you think there are. You think there are scorpions running around?
Billy
I was. I was expecting to see a few, like just crawling around.
Shannon The Dude
Okay, well. Well, you did not. All right, so a couple, let's. A couple things here. First of all, Travis Perry picked Ole Miss to go play basketball. First of all, how do you think he'll do there?
Drew Franklin
To me, it's a very bizarre connection, but it's what I expected. I even settled missed the moment he went in the portal because I have on pretty good authority that Chris Beard absolutely loves him. Which makes that.
Shannon The Dude
You want to tell that one story or.
Drew Franklin
No, let's leave that one off the air. Okay. But it's just weird to me. And Travis is a great player, but Chris Beard is so defensive minded. I mean, he really leans defense in his coaching, and that's Travis's flaw. So I don't know if maybe he sees that he can turn him into something. But other than knowing how close he was to Ole Miss and his high school recruitment and how much Chris Beard likes him, I wouldn't have think that would be the fit for him. But obviously it worked out. And a lot of people underestimate how close Oxford is to Western Kentucky. Yeah, it's not a lot of people West Kentucky. A lot of people go to Ole Miss. I have several friends probably just about.
Shannon The Dude
As close as Lexington. Right.
Drew Franklin
And his in his high school recruitment, proximity to Lyon county was big. You could almost draw a radius around the schools he was considering. They're all drivable, so. And that's what I expected. But the Chris Beard, Travis Perry matchup seems weird to me just in how he coaches. But maybe he sees.
Shannon The Dude
You think he can be a starting, successful point guard for an NCAA tournament SEC team starting Ali?
Drew Franklin
No. I mean, he's going to play a lot of minutes. Part of it is they just needed him. If you looked at what Ole Miss has going into next year, they didn't have many people at the guard spot. So I think he'll play a lot, but I don't know if he'll be a starter.
Billy
Yeah, his role will be a lot different than it was at Kentucky. I don't know if he'll be a starter right away. Maybe his junior season. But it depends on how much he develops from on this offseason and the Next offseason.
Shannon The Dude
So what happens if he scores 10 points a game next year? Like are you thinking.
Billy
I can see that, but do you.
Shannon The Dude
Think our fans will be upset?
Drew Franklin
I thought you're going to give me a different scenario. What happens if he scores 20 against Kentucky and rough or something and that could happen?
Shannon The Dude
That's a one game scenario. What if he averages double digits at Ole Miss? What do you think our fan base is reaction?
Drew Franklin
I actually was a little dis and it was online. I was a little disappointed in the fan reaction. Him at the Portal, people act like he just sucked. I mean he was a freshman that was asked to do way more than was what he expected in his first year. Obviously he's got flaws athletically and defensively, but the people saying he's got to go to Bellarmine and Bury and he can't play at this level, I mean, get out here with that nonsense. People were way too critical of him. So I think there will be some shock if he plays really well. To the people that tried to send him to D2 thinking he's that bad. And it wasn't just Ole Miss. He had phone calls from a lot of teams, including Florida teams that played against him last year. So he's not terrible. Other coaches see his potential.
Billy
He's not terrible. And he's going to be at Ole Miss. He's going to be in a different role. Like when he's at Kentucky, he wasn't, you know, he was backup point guard.
Shannon The Dude
Yeah.
Billy
I mean opportunity to play now.
Shannon The Dude
And do I think he's talented? Yes. Do I think he'll shoot better than he shot sometimes this year? Yes. I don't know how he's going to play defense in the sec. I mean, go back. He played a major role against Alabama twice and you saw the results. Now Alabama's really good. Mark Sears really good. But I don't know how he's going to guard these people and I don't know that how that's going to get better. And I think that's why Mark Pope, I mean Mark Pope by taking Aberdeen was telling you that he didn't think that could be Perry. I mean, I don't know. You know. Now with that said, I wish the kid the best. I hope he goes down there and plays well. I do. I'm going to cheer him on. Except when he plays us, people say, well, are you gonna. Are we gonna cheer him on? Sometimes I don't cheer people on, you know, but like I cheer a do on. I didn't cheer Arkansas on like I cheered. I wanted a DO Z and the Arrow to play well. I want Travis to play well. And I don't even care if Ole Miss is good as long as we beat him. But the problems we saw last year, I don't know how they get better. I don't know how his defense is going to get better.
Drew Franklin
I think he'll get a lot better again. He's. He was not expected to play at all, but just defensively, he. I don't think he has the size, the athleticism. That's something you can't just manifest. I do think he'll be a good contributor for him as time.
Shannon The Dude
He doesn't have the size, he doesn't have the speed and he doesn't have the strength. Where those things are not going to just appear like Lamont Butler. Think about Lamont Butler versus him. Just as a defender. Lamont Butler is taller, he's bigger and he's quicker.
Drew Franklin
No, that's why I'm saying I don't think he'll ever be the guy. But he can be. I mean, there are plenty of guys that can't guard. I mean, yeah, let's not forget John Caliper. He started Devon Askew at the university.
Shannon The Dude
But we went to the nit. I mean, that's my, like, that's what I'm saying, though. That's why I said that's what my question was. Very specific. An NCAA tournament team in the sec. Do I think he could go start in the Big 12 or ACC? Maybe the SEC? Every point guard is going to be athletic. Every single one of them. Even the bad teams, their point guards are going to be athletic.
Drew Franklin
I think he'll be a good six man and a guy where there's games you just can't play him. And there's games where he can go in and play all the minutes and light them up. But he, he'll. I mean, he'll never be Lamont Butler. Someone that has the size to go.
Billy
He's not known for defense. That's not his thing. Like, Mark Sears is a good example. He ain't really known for defense, but he's an offensive player. I see Travis Perry.
Shannon The Dude
You think Travis can score like Mark Sears? I don't.
Billy
I don't. I'm not saying he can, but it's similar. That's his strength.
Shannon The Dude
Well, he also. One of the difficulties for him last year is he didn't shoot the ball as well as we had hoped. Now, I do think he can prove that. Yeah, like, I do think he can end up shooting better than he shot last year.
Drew Franklin
And I think part of that was, like I said, he went in expecting to be this and sudd. They're like, all right, you're the primary ball handler for 30 minutes a game for a couple of weeks. And that was just a lot to ask.
Shannon The Dude
That's what you got to be if you're going to be a point guard. But so he goes to Ole Miss. What do we think he made? You think he got a million?
Drew Franklin
I don't know what he was getting at Kentucky.
Shannon The Dude
I do.
Drew Franklin
Well, I heard early in the process that there were schools that doubled when he was getting.
Shannon The Dude
If he got a million, they more than doubled.
Drew Franklin
Yeah, I don't know if he.
Shannon The Dude
I don't know if he got a million.
Drew Franklin
I know how bad Chris Beard wanted him.
Shannon The Dude
And more than doubled it. How about more than tripled it?
Drew Franklin
I mean, that's why I'm very defensive of him. And I hope people remember him is still a Kentucky legend of what he did in high school, but people saying he just couldn't hang it, Kentucky didn't want it.
Shannon The Dude
If they offer you no, you got.
Drew Franklin
To do it three times the money in the minutes, you have to do it, dude.
Shannon The Dude
He should take no criticism for going.
Billy
No.
Shannon The Dude
And also, I'm going to say UK should take no criticism for not matching. Okay. You can't pay your 12th and 13th man that level of money. And that's what he was going to be at Kentucky this year. So I don't think either side has anything to be wrong about.
Drew Franklin
And he's from Lyon County, Kentucky. Let's be honest. He's not going to go to the NBA and make millions. So you got to get what you can get. And if they're going to triple your money and probably triple your playing time, that would be an easy decision for me. I don't care how many Kentucky posters I had. At some point, you got to look out.
Shannon The Dude
For some point, you got to do it. Who's up first? Shannon.
Noah
Noah.
Shannon The Dude
Noah. Go ahead, Noah.
Drew Franklin
Hey, guys, I got a question for.
Shannon The Dude
All of you to answer.
Drew Franklin
So the hypothetical, hypothetical scenario, if you.
Shannon The Dude
Were to go back to college, this was if we're playing for UK basketball.
Drew Franklin
And you could pick any former player.
Shannon The Dude
Of any skill set that they've had and be able.
Drew Franklin
You play for four years, you'll enhance that skill set.
Shannon The Dude
I want to know which player you would be able to take. Be able to use to enhance their skills for that year. Wait a minute. You're saying to me, who would I Want to be or who does Kentucky need, like next year? No, this is, this is.
Drew Franklin
Regardless, they're not for anything next year.
Shannon The Dude
If you were to go back into college, play four years at Kentucky, have.
Drew Franklin
A skill set of any former player.
Shannon The Dude
That you want, be able to enhance that and going based off of their. Just their college. Oh, I see. Okay. I would want to be. I appreciate the call because I would want to be John Wall. Anthony Davis is better, but I would want to be John Wall because I would want to be fun. I would want to be able to take dudes off the dribble. I'd want to be able to have a dance that the whole country does.
Billy
Swag.
Shannon The Dude
I would want to be. Have the swag. In this nil era, John Wall would have made more money than Warren Buffett in the nil era. So if you ask me who would I want to be, especially in a four year career, four years of John Wall, he'd be like, I mean, he'd be a superstar in the country. Give me John Wall. What about you?
Drew Franklin
I mean, I think John Wall is the answer everyone would have. I'll go a little different and it's twisting the question a little bit, but I would love to have the tournament run that Aaron Harrison had and have those.
Shannon The Dude
Oh, I like that.
Drew Franklin
That's not really what he asked. But to have that clutch gene, I'll.
Shannon The Dude
Say that, yeah, that would be cool.
Drew Franklin
To have those shots because you could.
Shannon The Dude
Play those shots over and over and over.
Drew Franklin
I mean, there's not a better tournament run for anyone individually. And you'd have a three game winner. That too.
Shannon The Dude
You'd have a twin and you'd be like, hey, we're experiencing this together, Shannon. Right. Like you'd get to have a twin. That would be nice. I like that. What about you, Shannon? Who would you want to be?
Noah
I think Anthony Davis. In my lifetime, I don't think there's been a better overall player that Kentucky's had than Anthony Davis.
Shannon The Dude
Yeah, I agree. Now you'd have to have a unibrow. Are you okay with that?
Noah
Yeah, I'd be okay with that. Still playing?
Shannon The Dude
It'd be hard to like. It'd be hard to find clothes to fit if you're that tall. Is that okay?
Noah
Sacrifice. I think I'd be willing to make.
Shannon The Dude
All right, so I'm John Wall. Drew's Aaron Harrison. Shannon is Anthony Davis. I already know who you're gonna be.
Billy
You already know I'm going with Tyler Eulis.
Shannon The Dude
But why would you want to be short?
Billy
I get to be amongst the regular people.
Shannon The Dude
Oh, so, like, you're not.
Billy
And what on the floor that I can't do? Tyler can do everything. Shoot.
Drew Franklin
Sec defensive player, defensive player of the year.
Shannon The Dude
So you don't want to be. Okay, so we got tough.
Drew Franklin
You. You bleeding and you can, like.
Shannon The Dude
If you can be anybody. Don't you want to be like.
Billy
I would want to dunk.
Shannon The Dude
Don't you want to be, like, my height?
Billy
I would want to kind of dunk.
Shannon The Dude
Because you're kind of a loose.
Billy
Yeah.
Drew Franklin
Part of this is you were kind of a small point guard. Is it? Did you see a little ulison yourself?
Billy
I tried to be, but I wasn't as good as him. But, yeah, he was.
Shannon The Dude
He.
Billy
There's nothing on the floor that he couldn't do, you know? Shoot.
Shannon The Dude
I like that. Those are four different answers. I think they're four, like, very valid answers for very different reasons. So I. I can. I. I could respect that. I like that.
Billy
I would want to dunk, though.
Shannon The Dude
Yeah, I did. Could Tyler dunk? I don't know that I ever remember him. I think I might have seen one.
Drew Franklin
Of him doing off a lot.
Shannon The Dude
That's a good question. Who's the best Kentucky player ever who couldn't dunk?
Drew Franklin
Richie Farmer. Sorry, Richie. I know you're listening. Richie Farmer said that way too fast.
Shannon The Dude
Well, first of all, do you think Tyler Eulis could dunk? Because he's probably the answer if he couldn't dunk.
Drew Franklin
I feel like I saw a video where he barely gets a lob, where he kind of just helps it in.
Billy
Maybe like a lobby.
Shannon The Dude
Richie couldn't dunk. And, Richie, if you text me and say you could duck, I don't believe.
Drew Franklin
That text is coming.
Shannon The Dude

Shannon The Dude
Welcome back. It is Kentucky Sports Radio 859-280-2287. People writing in with who they'd want to be. Okay, would you like to hear some of the answers?
Billy
Yeah.
Shannon The Dude
One person says, I'd like to be Travis Ford. What would be cooler than being from.
Drew Franklin
Kentucky and playing here and growing up in Madisonville?
Shannon The Dude
Fair enough. One person says, matt, I want to be Devin Booker. He's way too good looking and girls were licking his car doors.
Noah
It's true.
Shannon The Dude
It would be nice to go through life that good looking. If Ryan was here, he'd go, oh no, my life. Like that would have been Ryan's line. Right.
Drew Franklin
Devin Booker's a good pick.
Shannon The Dude
Devin Booker's a good pick. One person says, matt, I'd like to be winning. Gabriel.
Noah
That's the answer right there.
Drew Franklin
Why did they want to be winning?
Shannon The Dude
They did.
Noah
Great player.
Drew Franklin
Yeah.
Shannon The Dude
Yeah. That's a good. No other explanation.
Drew Franklin
Did anyone say Oscar? It's not, it's not the style you'd pick. But I mean I feel like Oscar.
Shannon The Dude
Though probably his body would hurt after games.
Drew Franklin
Yeah.
Shannon The Dude
You know what I mean? Like I feel like he played a style that he probably needed to be in the ice B a lot.
Drew Franklin
Record setting games.
Shannon The Dude
But people did love him. I mean fans absolutely adored him. You know, you go back, I mean being Rex would have been pretty awesome back in his day. Oh yeah. Me being a young Rex Chapman.
Drew Franklin
Rex might be the answer because yeah.
Shannon The Dude
He would have had the game and the off the court and the stories. I mean Rex has, we know a couple of them. Rex has single handedly the best story in the history of Kentucky basketball. And if that man wants to sell books, that's the story he needs to tell.
Drew Franklin
He's another one. You've mentioned Wall making a lot of money. Rex's recruitment. He would have.
Shannon The Dude
Yeah. Oh, he probably did make a lot. I mean if we're being honest, he would have. Yeah. I think you could make an argument that Rex has. He's certainly the best story. Would you agree, like if we were to do the. Okay, we could say whatever. That's the best one.
Drew Franklin
Yeah. Rex. Rex enjoyed his time as uk.
Shannon The Dude
Yeah. So now anybody. I'm trying to think who else see what else. One person says they'd like to be Nerlin's Noel. That's an interesting one. Be very tall, block every shot. He's a career I wish could do over. I wish you could do his career Over. Without the acl, I think he would have been a beloved Kentucky player. I don't know what would happen in the NBA. His. His skill set really did not translate to the modern NBA well, because he couldn't shoot.
Drew Franklin
But the Ole Miss game, I will never.
Shannon The Dude
Ole Miss game is a legendary game that's forgotten because he got hurt the next game.
Drew Franklin
Yeah. Four fouls and still managed to block, what was it, 11 shots. Like seven of them were after he got his fourth foul.
Shannon The Dude
Yeah.
Drew Franklin
Also, his recruitment was huge. We kind of got immune to John Caliperi getting recruits. But early on, when he spun around in the chair and had the UK in the back of his head, that was an all time Kentucky memory too.
Shannon The Dude
All right, we need to talk about something real quick. Shannon, before we go back the phone. We learned something.
Noah
Yeah, What'd you learn?
Shannon The Dude
You know Billy had a birthday last week, right?
Drew Franklin
We already knew that. That's not what we learned.
Shannon The Dude
Yeah, no, that's last Thursday. I saw a picture he had. They had a party for him. And we learned this week, this weekend, Shannon, I'm not gonna reveal the sources, but we learned that Billy. There was a surprise party for him. And the people throwing it did not invite us because they didn't think we liked Billy.
Noah
I knew about the surprise party after the fact, but, yeah, I wasn't invited either.
Shannon The Dude
So you weren't invited either? That was my question. So you were not invited?
Noah
No.
Shannon The Dude
So none of us were invited. Which, by the way, is totally fine. Like, I can totally see having a surprise party and not inviting us.
Drew Franklin
We're work friends. I get it.
Shannon The Dude
We're work friends. I consider Billy a friend, but I get it. Like, you have different levels of friends in your life. Like sometimes I told. And then, like, you invite one of us, you probably have to invite all of us. Totally cool not being invited. But what I was told is they would have invited us, but quote, we don't think they like Billy now. I mean, we need to dispel that myth.
Drew Franklin
I love Billy.
Shannon The Dude
I think I like Billy perfectly fine. I consider him a friend. I would go to a surprise. Billy, Was it his 30th birthday? Especially with a birthday party, that's like important.
Drew Franklin
Like 30.
Shannon The Dude
I would certainly go to that now. If they don't want to invite us, that's fine. But Shane and I kind of feel bad that they. Whoever this was that threw it, didn't think we would, like.
Noah
See, I didn't know that. Sort of wrinkles of the story. I didn't know that they didn't think that we didn't like Billy.
Drew Franklin
I found out about it the day before and that we weren't invited. And I said, I will absolutely go. And then I found I was in Louisville. And it's not that I can't travel for Billy, but I legitimately could not drive to Louisville and back that day.
Shannon The Dude
But I was Louisville that night.
Drew Franklin
I would have been.
Shannon The Dude
So was Shannon. You and I could have gone.
Noah
Yeah.
Shannon The Dude
Again, I just want Billy to know and Billy's, you know, his posse, his people. Like, we like you. Now, I give you a hard time, but it's for your own benefit. There's some Billy characteristics that need to be tweaked. Okay. As we saw last year on the postgame show a couple times. But I like Billy, so I'm going to make a public because I don't know who's throwing these Billy parties. But if you have Billy parties, if you would like us to go, I would go because I, I genuinely like Billy, and it makes me feel bad that he doesn't or at least some people think we don't like him.
Drew Franklin
I feel the same way. I actually plan to take Billy out for his birthday. We've been slammed this past week, but maybe Thursday in Owensboro, little KSR overnight, maybe we can have. It won't be a surprise party, but.
Shannon The Dude
I won't be there. Mario. Mario and I won't be there there yet.
Drew Franklin
Well, that will be a bad look, but I will be there in Owensboro. I'll try to take Billy out. You know, he and I've played golf before. I like Billy. I, I, I felt bad when I heard again. Not that we need to be included.
Shannon The Dude
But if c. Would you have gone?
Drew Franklin
I want Billy to feel like we don't.
Shannon The Dude
Like.
Noah
I would have gone. I would have definitely gone. Mario, you were with Billy. I heard he got cut off on the drinks at Churchill Downs.
Billy
Yeah, they're calling him, I don't know, two Lily.
Noah
Billy is what they're calling two Lily Billy.
Drew Franklin
Okay, that's good.
Shannon The Dude
Wait a minute. He got. He got cut off? Yeah.
Billy
He wasn't as bad as Daniel. Daniel was.
Shannon The Dude
Throw another person under the bus. Now you're throwing. Now you're throwing an off air personality under the bus.
Noah
We love Daniel. Don't, don't, don't.
Billy
Daniel was off the rails.
Noah
He kept us on the air today. We already had Daniel in here this morning, so don't.
Shannon The Dude
So now Mario, just anybody else. Mario. Let's see. Ryan Lemon got astray. Livy Dunn got Astra straight. Now Daniel. So Billy got cut off.
Billy
He wasn't as bad.
Shannon The Dude
He was.
Billy
He was okay. He wasn't. Daniel was really bad.
Drew Franklin
No, no, no. Leave it. Leave Daniel out of it.
Shannon The Dude
Daniel is not part of telling Billy story. Keep it with Billy.
Billy
Me and Billy was hanging out. He wasn't as bad as.
Shannon The Dude
As.
Billy
As Shannon is saying.
Shannon The Dude
He.
Billy
He's okay.
Drew Franklin
He billies.
Shannon The Dude
But he got. Who cut him off? I didn't cut him off, but somebody cut him off.
Drew Franklin
Was he just chatty? Was he loopy? Was he stumbling? Like, what kind of.
Shannon The Dude
I will say Billy. I will say Billy. If you look at the picture, Mario tweeted out a picture from Derby. Billy looks like a newspaper reporter from the 50s or like a 1920s paper boy.
Billy
You don't like his hat?
Shannon The Dude
I like this little hat. Billy looks like he should be out on the street going, extra, extra. Yankees. Yankees winning seven, extra.
Drew Franklin
We're getting a lot of impersonations from Scottsdale. Matt, over here today.
Shannon The Dude
I gotta pull up the pig. Tell me he does not look like a newsboy. That's what they call those things.
Drew Franklin
He was interviewing jockeys. Maybe he felt like he needed to. It's 151st Derby. Maybe he wanted to go back.
Shannon The Dude
I'm telling you, that's what he looked like. His. His derby outfit. It was a throwback, right? He was a throwback to win. Newspapers ruled the day.
Drew Franklin
I'm sure he's listening. We love you, Billy. We already know.
Shannon The Dude
It's. We'll take a break and be right back. Here in Scottsdale, it's ksr.
Mario
TJ Smith, personal injury attorney. Call tj. He'll make him pay.
Noah
Now more of Kentucky Sports Radio, presented by Stockton Mortgage. Here's Matt Jones.
Shannon The Dude
Yeah, there's no doubt. We've. We're. We're giddy here.
Drew Franklin
Someone asked me if you're on Ambien.
Shannon The Dude
I'm just talking about, first of all, the name Two Lily. Billy is a brilliant one. That's the. I mean, honestly, that has to. That should probably replace his two mimosas. But two Lilly, Billy is a great name and also true and for people. Matt. One person writes. Matt, I've been listening to this show for 15 years. You've never made me laugh harder than when you said extra, extra about Billy.
Drew Franklin
Mario laughed through the entire break. That laugh you're hearing right now has not stopped in the last five minutes.
Shannon The Dude
Yeah, yeah. Drew is usually the funny one of the group, but you really made me laugh. Well done. Well, I get in a good mood in these trips. And also I Do. I couldn't help when I saw Billy's. When I saw Billy's hat. He looked good. All right. So the Reds and Braves start a series tonight.
Drew Franklin
Oh, yay.
Shannon The Dude
Yeah. Both of our teams.
Drew Franklin
Take it easy on us.
Shannon The Dude
We're not doing well. We just lost the series to the Nationals. Do you want to do, like, a little wager for these?
Drew Franklin
Well, it's a big part of the bet gala. I see on the itinerary we got a bet on it, and then. And I guess sit there and watch it together, we're doing. But, yeah, we'll be gambling.
Shannon The Dude
Yeah. So neither of our teams are doing great right now.
Drew Franklin
It's in Atlanta.
Shannon The Dude
Oh, is it in Atlanta? Could be wrong.
Noah
Otherwise, I'd be hitting you up for those tickets.
Shannon The Dude
Yeah. So, yeah, it's not quite as exciting as when we thought both teams might be good, but. But that's okay. I think we have a better record than you do, don't we?
Drew Franklin
Yeah, we lost to the Rockies last week, which is. I didn't know you could lose to the Rockies. I didn't think that was allowed, but somehow the Braves managed to pull that off. But I'm not afraid to bet on my Braves. Whatever you want to do. I'm in.
Shannon The Dude
Well, all right. We'll figure something out.
Drew Franklin
We got A Brady Singer versus A.J. smith shover tonight.
Shannon The Dude
Brady Singer's been pretty good. Who's A.J. smith? Shiver.
Drew Franklin
Well, he's our starting pitcher. Braves are a favorite. A minus 148.
Shannon The Dude
Oh, wow. It's a big favorite. All right, well, give me the underdog.
Drew Franklin
Actually, I think I like the Reds.
Shannon The Dude
We need to figure that out. All right, so this gala tonight, we. We don't really know what it is. There's a red carpet, which we're apparently gonna walk down. Great. We don't. I mean, literally, I don't know anyone that's gonna be there but us. And I guess the barstool people we were talking about, we don't even really know all that many barstool people. I mean, I know Big Cat and Pft. I know Portnoy a little bit, but not well, I guess I know Brandon Walker, but that's pretty much it for me. I don't really know any of the other guys. Do you?
Drew Franklin
I know Dave and Big Cat decently well. Barely know Pft. And as I told you, golfing yesterday, we don't use names. I don't even like most of the other ones.
Shannon The Dude
No, no, I mean, like, the.
Drew Franklin
Far down the list. Not the people I would consider true. Bar still get.
Shannon The Dude
No.
Drew Franklin
I love Big Cat in that group, but there's going to be a lot of them if we have to do small talk. I don't even know what we're going to say.
Shannon The Dude
Here's the thing, Shannon. We think this can go one of two ways. Okay. Either this will be, like, really fun.
Noah
Yeah.
Shannon The Dude
Like, it's going to be a big gala and we'll meet random people and it's going to be really fun, or it's going to be really awkward, and it's just Drew and Mario sitting at a table by ourselves.
Drew Franklin
I think that's the way it's going to go.
Noah
You got to make it, though. You know, you got.
Drew Franklin
You know, but this is like.
Shannon The Dude
Like, it's like their thing.
Noah
Yeah.
Shannon The Dude
You know what I mean? Like, they're a whole group.
Noah
You're the guest of honor, though, and we're.
Shannon The Dude
But we're not the guest of honor. I'm not even sure they know we're here. Maybe they do.
Noah
Somebody invited you.
Shannon The Dude
Well, DraftKings invited us. So, like, I mean, the DraftKings people will be here, but that's almost like hanging out with the teachers at the prom or something, you know?
Noah
I mean, at least you got invited. Billy wouldn't even invite you to it, so at least you're there.
Shannon The Dude
That's true. They invited us. Billy didn't invite the party. Now I did. I mean, I've never worse worn a suede jacket in my life. Suede?
Drew Franklin
Yeah, suede Cunningham.
Shannon The Dude
Do you saw it? You like it?
Billy
Feels good. It feels good.
Shannon The Dude
It does. Suede Cunningham all. I've also never worn all black in my life.
Drew Franklin
Well, you're not wearing all black, so you find shoes.
Shannon The Dude
I need all black. What are you wearing, Mario?
Billy
Some red.
Drew Franklin
Who are you wearing?
Billy
Some red. Red and black.
Drew Franklin
You know, you're blended with the carpet. Yeah.
Shannon The Dude
Yeah.
Billy
I think red's gonna look good with my skin, so I wanted to go with red and something that pops a little bit.
Shannon The Dude
Okay. And what are you wearing?
Drew Franklin
I. I bought a new black suit. It's not a tuxedo, but it nice. It had a good price tag on it. All black suit, black tie. And I got some new patent leather black shoes that are really shiny because I feel like to. If you're gonna be. It says black tie. Encouraged. I feel like I needed the shoes that really, really stand out, a little white pocket square to bring it all together, but all black and white.
Shannon The Dude
All right.
Billy
Black and white.
Shannon The Dude
Well, I mean, this is, you know. So we walk in, it's apparently it's the BET gala. They say celebrities, athletes. I don't know where we fit into that. Radios from Kentucky, radio host from Kentucky. I do think there's a good chance, Shannon, it's just going to be us sitting at a table like by ourselves watching the games. At the draft. At the draft. Because it's at the Draft King sports book. So it's like it. It's at a sports book. So I kind of feel like, Shannon, I'm just going to be watching the. I don't know who plays tonight, what sports. Yeah, but that can't be the main event. There's.
Drew Franklin
There's one NB NBA game.
Shannon The Dude
Right. It's like Nick.
Noah
Celtics.
Shannon The Dude
Celtics. Okay. So that'll probably be the thing they focus on the most.
Drew Franklin
And one NHL game.
Shannon The Dude
Who's the NHL game?
Drew Franklin
Panthers. Maple Leafs.
Shannon The Dude
Not quite as exciting. So. So anyway, I. Shannon, I think it'll be fun just hanging out with these guys, but I kind of wonder if we're going to end up talking. Like I'm sure Big Cat and PFT will come by and say hello.
Noah
Yeah, you just use them.
Shannon The Dude
And I'm sure I'll say hello people. Yeah. I'll say hello to Dave. And then they're doing their own lives, but they're doing their own live show. Yeah. I don't think they're gonna. I don't think they're gonna have us beyond that. So I don't know.
Drew Franklin
I do like, I like my team here where none of us are very shy. So I don't know that we'll just leave.
Shannon The Dude
Mario will be handing out his business card to people.
Drew Franklin
Mario will end up on the live stream.
Shannon The Dude
Mario's gonna end up hired by somebody else.
Noah
Shannon, he'll be networking and negotiating contracts.
Shannon The Dude
Yeah, we'll be social. It'll be fun.
Drew Franklin
We might have to work for it. We might have to go seek out the. The social interactions. I don't think they'll come to us. But we're gonna. We're gonna have.
Shannon The Dude
A number of influencers will be here. Who do we think? I know one of them is that Sydney Thomas girl.
Drew Franklin
I hope Livy Dunn's there. I hope so.
Shannon The Dude
Actually. That would be really awful.
Drew Franklin
I want to manifest Livy Dunn there.
Shannon The Dude
Yeah, that would be really awkward.
Billy
That'd be good.
Shannon The Dude
I don't even.
Drew Franklin
I'm. I'm getting old. I don't even know the hip tick tock influencers these days.
Shannon The Dude
But like, what would we even say?
Drew Franklin
What about the guy that owns the horse?
Shannon The Dude
What if they come and say here's Sydney Thomas. What do you. What do we even say? Like, hello, Sydney, nice job at the Jake Paul fight.
Drew Franklin
Travis Perry going over. I know what I know. And they're probably not interested.
Shannon The Dude
So that's the interview you. We do go to her. Travis Perry just transferred. Ole Miss gonna be playing against Alabama. What do you think, Mario?
Drew Franklin
Do you know who Sydney Thomas is?
Billy
Yeah, she's the. She was at the Mike Tyson fight.
Drew Franklin
Something like that.
Shannon The Dude
Yeah. Well, that's. Now you know what we know. So you're just as. You're just as ready as we are for that.
Billy
I'm excited for the whole thing.
Shannon The Dude
It should be fun, though. They got.
Drew Franklin
What about a Brianna chicken fry? Maybe she'll be there. I like Zach Bryan. I could ask her. What's Zach Brian like?
Shannon The Dude
I don't think she wants to talk about.
Drew Franklin
That's probably not the way I should start that. I'm glad we. I'm glad we practiced now. That would have been a horrible way.
Shannon The Dude
For worse, she would have just walked away from you. All right. Sorry.
Drew Franklin
Brianna, what do you think about Travis Perry going on?
Shannon The Dude
I think that's our go to line for everybody.
Drew Franklin
Mario is going to do a lot of it. Maybe we'll do our own live stream.
Shannon The Dude
What are you going to video?
Billy
We can do some interviews.
Drew Franklin
We could.
Billy
I don't know.
Shannon The Dude
I think you need to be the one to do it. I'm going to be. I want to be in the background out. I'm just gonna. This is my night off.
Billy
Okay.
Shannon The Dude
So you can be the star. I'll film you if you want.
Drew Franklin
All right.
Billy
We can do that.
Shannon The Dude
Okay.
Drew Franklin
I'm gonna have a couple and have a good time.
Shannon The Dude
Yeah, I'm sure it'll give us things.
Drew Franklin
To ride the way from yesterday.
Shannon The Dude
Tomorrow, Newark Airport. By the way, did you see this announcement? Shannon, I thought this would be something you'd be particularly interested in.
Noah
What is it?
Shannon The Dude
United cut 35 flights to Newark airport and the former head of air traffic controls security at the new Newark airport says Newark airport is not safe to fly into right now because we don't have enough air traffic controllers and it's too dangerous in this person's mind.
Noah
And who's getting it open?
Shannon The Dude
They're keep. Well, first of all, I mean, that's a major. Like. If you fly United, it's the only way to get to New York. Pretty much. I mean, that's. That is a major uni hub. Newark. Would you. I fly to Newark all the time. Because if you're staying on the lower side of Manhattan, it's closer than if you fly to JFK or LaGuardia.
Drew Franklin
And it's not an $80 Uber.
Shannon The Dude
And it's. It's closer. Yeah, it's much closer. So I fly to Newark all the time, knowing what this person says. Even though still thousands of flights go in and out of all there, would you not fly? Because right now they say it's dangerous.
Noah
There's two other options. There's JFK and LaGuardia.
Shannon The Dude
Right.
Noah
So I'd be. I don't care if it is an $80 Uber. I would rather fly on the one that I feel more comfortable going to than Newark.
Drew Franklin
I agree. I'm not someone that usually worries about this stuff, but if someone thinks it's that bad that they're like, put it out in media.
Shannon The Dude
Yeah. Really? How bad? The job of being in charge of it. And said right now it is not safe.
Drew Franklin
They're telling their own family not to fly.
Shannon The Dude
Yeah. Telling their own family.
Noah
I know. Matt, you're not getting on that plane if the guy says it's not safe.
Shannon The Dude
Well, it's just like that's the most convenient airport.
Noah
Well, I'll tell you what. I mean, they're still going down and dying. That's not very convenient either, so.
Shannon The Dude
Well, it would make it. I mean, like, I wouldn't have to worry about making missing my connection. But I. Yeah, I don't know. I mean, like united canceling in two days. They canceled 35 flights. And that person says that it does feel like somebody should go, wait a minute. Yeah, what's going on? Right. Because there's still flights coming in and.
Billy
Out until something bad happens and then.
Shannon The Dude
Well, yeah, it was awful if it happened after a warning miss up. But, you know, they had a flight go down in D.C. did it change anything? I think all they did was say helicopters couldn't fly as low anymore, but I don't know. I will say that's like in 2025. To cease to see that story is kind of in a major airport. I mean, Newark, for people who don't fly to New York, Newark is a major airport. Kind of a little bit scary. All right. This is supposed to be stocked mortgage, but he's not here. So you want to give it a bet? You give it your best effort.
Drew Franklin
Well, obviously it is a great time to buy. So if you are looking to either buy or sell used Stockton mortgage, they are growing with several locations around Kentucky. I don't have the exact number in front of me.
Shannon The Dude
What's an advantage of using Stockton Mortgage? Mario over like another mortgage?
Drew Franklin
Yeah.
Billy
What is.
Shannon The Dude
No, I'm asking you.
Billy
Stockton Mortgage, you know, they. They get the houses for you and.
Shannon The Dude
You know, they don't get that they're.
Noah
Really getting their money.
Billy
They put you in a position to, you know, get the. The best.
Shannon The Dude
But why would I want to use them over a different company?
Billy
You know, they just, you know, they just. They stand out like customer service.
Shannon The Dude
In what ways they stand out?
Billy
Customer service is elite.
Shannon The Dude
Okay. That was what Drew said. But what do you. What do you think?
Billy
What do I think about it? I think I like that they've been here for so long. They're a long running business.
Shannon The Dude
Yeah. They're not a fly by night.
Billy
No, not. Not at all.
Shannon The Dude
That's right.
Drew Franklin
And they're in the mls.
Shannon The Dude
And they're in the mls. What Drew said they play Miami FC Coming up. They also. You can call and talk to a real person.
Drew Franklin
Yeah.
Shannon The Dude
Remember, you don't. They don't just. You don't. You get assigned the same person. You don't get a different person every time you call.
Drew Franklin
And a great website.
Shannon The Dude
Great website, great website. Go to stockton.coms t o c k t o n dot com, the mortgage broker for you. It is Stockton mortgage and they're growing.
Drew Franklin
And it's a great time to buy.
Shannon The Dude
I think we already did better than Ron most of the time.
Drew Franklin
Well, he's usually fumbling over his phone to pull it up.
Shannon The Dude
Yeah. We'll take a break. Be right back.

Welcome back. Final segment here, KSR Live in Scottsdale, where we'll be again tomorrow and Wednesday and Thursday. I'll be here. One person writes, matt, you know, suede is a winter fabric. You are in Scottsdale in the spring and summer, suede probably wasn't the best choice. Well, you know what, what am I gonna. What am I gonna do about that?
Drew Franklin
Any black suit in Arizona this time of year is a great idea, but we're doing it.
Shannon The Dude
But that's the dress. Another person says it's the bat gala. You're supposed to wear suits that are BET themed. I don't even know what that means.
Billy
I guess suits with money on them. I don't know.
Shannon The Dude
Yeah, but like, here's the problem with that. I thought about this. I'm sure there will be like barstool people wearing goofy suits. Problem is what if we dressed up like that and nobody else did?
Noah
Then everybody be laughing at you.
Shannon The Dude
We come to their event, and we look like clowns, and they're all in tuxedos. Like, I'm taking the neutral response.
Noah
That's a conversation starter, though.
Shannon The Dude
Yeah, Let them be funny. Like, this is their event. So let, like, if it was the KSR gala, then I could wear something goofy. And it's like, well, it's his thing, so he can do it that we're guests. So if we show up looking like clowns and nobody else looks like a clown, then we look ridiculous. So I'd much rather they be clowns. And then we just look like normal people. And then people go, well, they're just the suits from DraftKings. And then we're fine.
Drew Franklin
I've heard big cat talk about how they're dressing goofy, but we only have the invitation we were sent, and it says black tie. Encouraged. And I'm just gonna follow with what that said.
Shannon The Dude
I just think it would be our.
Drew Franklin
Spot to go crazy if, like, three.
Shannon The Dude
Or four of them look absurd, and then people are like, that dude is in his 40s, and he's wearing that. You know, I just don't want that. I just don't want to be case. One person says, if you two are wearing black suits, Mario's wearing red. You all are going to look like Mario's.
Drew Franklin
That's fine.
Shannon The Dude
We are fine with that. I'm fine with that.
Drew Franklin
I'll fight somebody for Mario tonight.
Shannon The Dude
You can. If that's how it ends up being, then that's how it ends up being.
Billy
It's my guys, man.
Shannon The Dude
Who's up next?
Noah
Kentucky gas man.
Shannon The Dude
Kentucky gas man. How are you?
Noah
Hey, man.
Shannon The Dude
How's it going? What's up? Good. Hey. So I heard this story and heard the story. I'm not 100 sure I believe it, so I'm gonna need Drew to fact check it. So our guy in Georgetown, apparently he got out Thursday or Friday out of jail. And I guess the way I understand it is he bet his full winning $70 million on sovereignty.
Drew Franklin
Oh, I saw that. That was the A.I.
Shannon The Dude
Yeah, that was. Yeah, that was. That was a you felt fake AI Thing, I think, sir. Okay, well, I heard it on the radio. Another station. I appreciate your time.
Drew Franklin
I did see that there was a meme going around, but I don't think that was real.
Shannon The Dude
Yeah, I mean, he clearly doesn't have the best judgment since he was in a bar fight.
Drew Franklin
Non zero chance that it's.
Shannon The Dude
Yeah, it's one of Those things, that's plausible, you know, but I did see.
Drew Franklin
What they were talking about. I don't think that was real.
Shannon The Dude
Yeah, I don't, I don't think that was. That was real either. The sovereignty winning. Have you seen his, his handlers are saying that they might not do the. That. I'm going to say this, Shannon. I say this every year. You. It should be required.
Noah
I agree.
Shannon The Dude
That unless the horse is hurt, they have to run in the Preakness for the good of horse racing. Like you. It's. It's like the Daytona 500. When you win the Daytona 500, they take your car, presumably that's a really good car. But they take the car and put it in the museum and yeah, you lose your good car. But you know what? So what? You won the Daytona 500. If the horse is healthy, it should have to run in the Preakness.
Drew Franklin
And with. We were mentioning how there's so much attention on the sport now, it hurts the Triple Crown moving forward. If there's not the interest in. Can someone pull off the Triple Crown?
Shannon The Dude
There are horse people that say, like it's two. Two weeks is way too close to run a horse. Then I would say, forget tradition. You're going to have to move it back. Right. You can't. You cannot have the Derby winner, Shannon, not in the Preakness. That just makes the Preakness irrelevant if you do that.
Noah
Well, absolutely. And we've been doing this for how many years? The horses have been fine running two weeks after the dirt.
Shannon The Dude
Can I ask you a question? Why do horses not get faster? Every other form of life, we've talked about the best people to do it do it now. It's like the fastest sprinters now, the fastest swimmers now, horses racing, horse racing, the times are not that much different than they were in the 50s. And the fastest race is still a horse in the 70s. Why don't horses get faster? Why is it every other sports entity, the times have gotten faster, but in horse racing, they really haven't?
Drew Franklin
My probably dumb off the cuff answer here is we've had a lot of changes to our prep and our diet, and they're just eating the same oats and grass and running the same circle. They've been doing exactly, what, hundreds of years. We have a lot better training. We've learned a lot more of what we need to do to get.
Shannon The Dude
But you don't think they're. Horses like horse diets. They don't have the.
Drew Franklin
I mean, their oats have probably got a little better, but then day horse is just a horse, you know, not.
Billy
Gonna make a difference.
Drew Franklin
Yeah, I mean, Bob Baffert's got some creams and some things that probably help out a little bit.
Shannon The Dude
So you don't think they do wellness retreats?
Drew Franklin
Again, this is. I did not know I was gonna be asked this, so I've put zero thought into it. But that is my game show.
