That's right. And you know, for the baseball team, this was supposed to be a rebuilding year. And now you get in and you never know. You throw a pitch here, pitch there, little slider Shannon. Next thing you know, you might be in the. You might. You might be in the. Might get a win.

Yeah. Yeah. We were saying, you know, for the baseball team, if you can just get three out of the six, they've already got three from this weekend. So, you know, maybe if you get one from Vandy, I think you're absolutely.

They have one more game. It won't matter the resume that much. They play at home against Northern Kentucky tomorrow. Final home game.

It was a huge weekend that the pitcher Oklahoma threw on Friday is considered like one of the best probably the best pitcher in the SEC, and he's a top 10.

[Ryan Lemon]

And we smacked him. Smacked him, smacked him. So eat it, Oklahoma. We've been kind of owning Oklahoma here since they joined the sec. Wait till we play him in football. Then we'll really show them who's boss. Stop laughing. By the way, I saw Back to the Pope for a second. Did you see the video of him at the World series game? Like, 2005?

No, I didn't see that.

So they have this picture of the White Sox World Series in 2005. It's like, one out from it being over, and they flash the crowd, and there he is. And he's just standing there like a fan, kind of rocking back and forth. Here's what I don't understand. Ryan, who found that?

Exactly.

And how did they know? Yeah, he's just a random guy in the crowd. And somebody found it. Which means, I mean, they must have found it by going like, somebody must have been watching their old White Sox championship tape and went, wait a minute. Is that Bob the Pope? Like, how did they find that?

Well, I thought it was maybe because somebody in his parsonage tipped media savage. You know, his.

Isn't that where a preacher lives?

I think it is. Somebody in his church then.

I like that light. We saw that light bulb right there.

Those people have no idea they're hanging out with the future Pope.

Yeah, they took a victory lap when he was announced. It does just feel like, you know, I don't know a lot about all the other Popes, but they just went out and got one of the boys, you know.

And so they made a big deal yesterday because he wore an apple watch.

Myron on ESPN goes, I think this is the first pope to ever be a sports fan. And I was like, Byron, just slow down. I was like, he's. I'm sure the other ones were sports fans. They just don't live in America, you know, I'm sure the other ones had seen sports. They didn't go to a White Sox game, but they were, you know, they were probably a sports fan.

So the last one has a Kentucky basketball jersey.

So when the thing came out. Do they get along? I thought they, like, had a. The player and the family. They were disputing who made money from it. Wasn't there a lawsuit recently? I think there was. Do you know what the status of that?

I don't know the latest on it, but I know it wasn't as nice.

As the movie made it seem. Read that book when it came out. And the book is not like the movie. The book is about left tackles. Like the book is. The book is about college football recruiting and left tackles. They basically follow Ole Miss as they try to recruit people. And it's about the importance of people who play the. Who cover the Blind side. It's not really about there. And they use Michael Oher as, like, an example, but it's not the centerpiece of the book. The book's about other stuff, and they just took that little story and made it into the book. Does that make sense?

So probably what made the player mad is he agreed to be part of this book that was a bigger book about the importance of left tackles. And then they took his personal story and made a huge movie from it. And then he didn't really get any of it.

I didn't know that part of the book. I love the movie part. Yeah. He sued the Tuohys for they Said they. He's trying to say they kept money from him from the proceeds they made from the movie.

Yeah. It's just interesting. And the same is like Moneyball. Like Moneyball. The movie is very different than the book.

So I'm going to count him one fourth of a player. Okay. Spencer Sears, zero of a player. Matt Mcclain is one fourth of a player. And then Ellie has been good, but not quite as good as I'd hoped. This is like not Summer of Ellie. It's more like Summer of ellie sitting like 250. So I'm gonna say he's been half of a player this year. So out of the top three players, we have three fourths of a player. It's hard to win like that. It is, right? Hard to win when you have three fourths of a player. You know, we've had some guys step up. Austin Hay's been good. Jose Trevino's been good. So there's been some. But like they stink. And then, you know, the refs blaming it on the refs, the office, the humps, they. They're biased against us.

I don't know why they hate us so much, but we're 19 and 21. Or maybe we're 20 and two games under.500. Now the good thing is Central stinks. So we're still only three and a half back of the Cubs. So anyway, pitching has not been bad.

But I get very frustrated if I see somebody not following what I think are the etiquette of lines. I say things that I should not say. I can start to use generalisms that you shouldn't use. I get very upset, and I feel like it's my job to police the line. But then some reason when I'm zipper merging, all those things go out the window. And I don't know why, because you're.

In your own little capsule, probably so.

But like lines in an airport or.

[Billy Rutledge]

At a restaurant, you can never zip, emerge in that.

[Ryan Lemon]

But if somebody even contemplates. I don't even like when someone's in line and then the other person, oh, they were parking the car and then they come up and like, that stuff angers. So I don't know why I'm like that with the zipper merge. Because in regular line, I'll tell somebody, you need to back off.

We've seen it. I've also been in the car with you when you've made some of your more aggressive zipper merges and you've looked at me and you've been like, I don't want to do this. Like, it's gonna hurt me more than.

[Ryan Lemon]

It'S gonna hurt them more than it hurts them. I don't feel good about it. But then sometimes you have to do it. One person writes. Matt, three questions for you. Are you ever gonna buy a house? Are you ever going to get married? Are you ever going to have kids? All right, question one. Yes, but I don't know when. Maybe this summer. If things were to work out the problem in Lexington. These houses go away so quick.

[Matt Jones]

Yeah.

[Ryan Lemon]

You see one, 24 hours later, it's gone.

Maybe you get pre qualified Stockton mortgage.

And the kind of. The kind of house I want. There's not a lot of no, because I want a really nice house, but I don't need it to be huge because I don't have any. I don't have a lot of stuff and I don't have kids. Second question. Am I going to get married? Yeah, we'll see.

Take that as a no.

I mean, it's not. It's not like impossible, but also, who knows? And then kids. Again, same answer. Although every year you get older, that becomes a little harder.

And ideally you do step two before step three there.

Oh, I definitely would rather do step two than step three. And I, you know, step one. I definitely don't want three before one. That would be a problem.

Yeah.

Never say never, but I'm not in any hurry.

It's like they can feel it. Yeah. And then they go, okay, yeah, about you. Yeah, maybe once. But, you know, but then if you do it and it doesn't work, like, I much would not prefer to never do it, then have it happen and it not work.

Like, divorce is awful. Yeah, it's awful. Right. Like, it's tough on every Shannon. It's very expensive. That's what Shannon's most concerned about. You know what it's going to cost me money.

If a divorce is tough for everybody involved. And so, you know, I don't know. I think it's also. It's hard in this. It's hard in what we do to be married. I mean, you two are. But, like, we travel so much.

One of us is. I mean, Ryan kind of is.

Well, Ryan just goes from one marriage to another. I mean, it's going to be.

[Matt Jones]

I mean, there was a point we.

All know you get when you have your next wedding, which is probably going to happen at some. Are you going to have, like a wedding or is it going to be like, you go to, you know, Vegas?

[Shannon The Dude]

No, he's going to the chapel.

What are you going to do? Because you're going to get married again. Don't even act like you're not. Are you going to have a wedding? Are you going to have, like, a lope. What are you going to do?

Probably, if. If it ever happened, would be a.

And I never know what to say. Yeah, I don't know why people would. Why people care, but I get asked that a lot. I think it's because I talk about everything, but I don't talk about that. But it's. I don't talk about it because I don't think it's fair to the women.

Right.

Because, you know, I had one relationship that kind of was public, and it was hard on that person because, like, they. They were not a public person. And then all of a sudden, they are. And I. So that's why. Also, there was the one time, Shannon, you'll remember this, that I went out with the woman when we first started.

[Billy Rutledge]

Yep.

[Ryan Lemon]

And I. We went on our first date, and I liked her. She was fun.

[Billy Rutledge]

You played ping pong.

[Ryan Lemon]

She was attractive. That's exactly right. And after dinner, we decided to go play ping pong. And she was good, but I was a little better. And so I debated among myself, do I beat her or not at ping pong? I can, but should I?

[Matt Jones]

Right?

[Ryan Lemon]

Because she could. You could tell. She was kind of competitive about it. Chin. So the next day on the air, we talked about it. We had a debate. I had this. I was like, I had this date tonight, last night. Should I have beaten her in ping pong or not? Right. And we took calls and all that. Next time I talked to her, she was like, so I heard you talked about the ping pong, and I didn't even think. Shannon, she listened to the show, right? And I said, yeah, you know, joke, tried. She was like, I can't. I can't do this. She was like, I don't want to think that our dates are fodder for the show. And I'm going to sit there and think about how you're going to. And I got it. But it was also like, all right, well, just can't do that, you know, so that. Actually, I don't even remember. I don't even remember her name, to be honest with you. But, like, she did completely change the way Shannon. I used to talk about that stuff.

[Billy Rutledge]

I know.

[Ryan Lemon]

And then I completely stopped after that.

[Billy Rutledge]

You almost need to find somebody that has no idea what you do or cares that you're on the radio.

[Ryan Lemon]

Almost everyone. Not everyone, but almost everyone I've dated in the last seven years didn't know who I was with a couple of. Except. But didn't know who I was, so. And I think you're right. I think. But. But that's. It makes. It makes it easier.

[Billy Rutledge]

Yeah.

[Shannon The Dude]

If you had never talked about ping pong, who knows what could have happened with that woman. You might be married now.

[Ryan Lemon]

Remember, Shannon, when they used to send us on. It's just lunch dates. I.

[Billy Rutledge]

Look, man, between me and you, that never worked. Every time I would show up, the person with no show, I'm going, what are they. What are you telling them about me that they know.

[Ryan Lemon]

Showed me all the time.

[Billy Rutledge]

It's like they show you a picture, they don't even know what you look.

[Ryan Lemon]

Because that was during that period where, like, dating apps weren't really a thing.

[Billy Rutledge]

Right, right.

[Ryan Lemon]

And we were a little old to be, like, going out to clubs or, you know, so like, we were in that middle ground.

[Billy Rutledge]

You just get a description of who the other person was.

[Ryan Lemon]

Yeah. You couldn't see them, which I didn't like that. And you couldn't like description.

[Matt Jones]

Did you do any of.

[Ryan Lemon]

I did. I think one. And she was nice, but it just wasn't. Shannon did, though. You tried to do a few.

[Billy Rutledge]

Five of them and four of them didn't show up. Are you telling them I'm a serial killer? Like, what are you doing?

[Matt Jones]

You still get a free lunch, though, Shannon.

[Ryan Lemon]

Yes. No, it was just lunch, but for him it was just nothing because they didn't come.

[Matt Jones]

I would have got the lunch.

[Ryan Lemon]

Yeah, well, no, I mean, you had to pay for. You had to pay for the lunch. It's not like the company paid it for the lunch. So you thought. Thought they just set you up and then also paid for your meals.

[Matt Jones]

Absolutely. I'm going to do that. Just eat.

[Shannon The Dude]

I like Ryan would do it just for the free food.

Jay. Ryan's like, I'll go on dates for all the food. Canes play Tonight, Game four. If we win, I think we're going to win the series.

But if we lose and it'll still be two, two.

Two one Canes right now? Yeah. We won four, nothing Saturday and they play tonight, I. If they win tonight, I may go to game six. So if they win tonight, if they're up three, two and have a chance to clinch in Carolina, you're going. I may go next Saturday to Carolina? Yes.

I said that's the only NHL game I've ever been to and loved it. The atmosphere, the fans were great there.

Yeah, I was just going to say about the relationship where I tried it. First was six years younger. Next one was 12 years older or 10 years older.
