Drew Franklin
Welcome back. Hour number two, Kee Sports Radio here at the KS Bar and Grill. Come on out, have lunch, see us and join. What is a beautiful day. Tomorrow's KSR Golf scramble. It's Ask Anything Thursday. You know they're predicting some rain. Drew it's got. For those of you that are in the scramble, we're going, and if there's any thunderstorm, we'll. We'll delay it until. Until it goes away. But it's on because. Should be. It's going to rain, probably, but it will. Should be weather that we can play in, hopefully.
Shannon The Dude
Hopefully.
Drew Franklin
Yeah.
Shannon The Dude
I don't love the forecast. We've been very lucky most years.
Drew Franklin
I mean, we've had some heat day once.
Shannon The Dude
Yeah. And we've had some very hot days. But overall, we've been pretty blessed with sunshine. Looks like it might be catching up to us tomorrow.
Drew Franklin
That's all right, though. Just make yourself, you know, get yourself ready. Rain gear this is, you know, it'll make the course play a little soggy. Scrambles are fun, man. I enjoyed it. The Case R Golf scrambles should be level. The playing field should be a lot of fun. Now, one person writes, Matt, I was part of that Vietnam draft lottery. I was at uk. We basically all watched it, and the people who got a low number went out and immediately got drunk at Two Keys. That's tough. Yeah.
Shannon The Dude
I mean, you know, your life's completely changing. Go enjoy what you have left of it there with your friends.
Drew Franklin
We called it Shannon, the Selection Show.
Matt Jones
Oh, yeah, that's. That's.
Drew Franklin
You don't want to watch it now. Barkley would commentate. He'd be like, all right, June 3rd.
Matt Jones
I can see Greg Gumbel hosting.
Drew Franklin
Yeah, Greg Bumble. Rest in peace. It would be. That would be. That'd be sad. That would be sad. It'd be sad.
Shannon The Dude
But play it up too much with that.
Drew Franklin
You know, I will say this. I've said this a lot, all of us. There's people on all sides of the political spectrum that complaints about everything. And there are a lot of things that should be better, I think we'd all agree. But there is. We should be thankful. Way better than it used to be. Yes, it is better now. It is better to be alive now than it has been to be alive at basically any point in human history. And we are, even with all of its faults, in one of, if not the best places to be during that time. We should be thankful about that even when we complain, as I do about the things that happen. Because it wasn't even that long ago. You know, World War II was like, there are a lot of people alive that were in World War II. Like, it was 1940s. Yeah.
Shannon The Dude
Look at this guy. Lemon could never get.
Drew Franklin
Lehman could never. Yesterday, I thought, was a really good symbol Drew of Why Nil has been so good for college basketball. Away comes back to Kentucky. Pettiford comes back to Auburn. Right? He's coming back. Yes. Condon comes back to, to Florida La Yaxel comes back to Michigan. None of that stuff happened. None of those guys come back in the old system. College basketball is older, the quality of play is higher. Some of those guys are coming back to the schools where they were, where fans knew them. I think it helps the NBA in the sense that like, you know, they get guys who are seasoned after the top 15 dudes. Nil, I think, has caused a lot of problems for college football for a variety of reasons. But I think, and now we have three or four years to show this, that for college football, basketball, Nil has been almost a universal positive. Do you agree with that?
Shannon The Dude
Yeah. Like I said, a lot of these guys would have left just hoping to get any kind of money. A lot of them knowing they would end up in Lithuania in a few months, knowing they're not going to get drafted. But now they're coming back and it makes the sport better. I mean, look what it's done to Cal. I mean, Cal. Everyone would leave Cal after a year, whether they're ready or not. Now he's got Carter Knox coming back. DJs in a third year without nil. I mean, those guys leave. Carter Knox would stay in the draft if, if we didn't have Nil. It just, it makes the sport so much better. It's gotten older and it's better for the kids. And if you look at the Final Four last year, a lot of players were retained in the similar with Nil money that could have gone the year before. It's just made the teams better.
Drew Franklin
Think about all these dudes that played for us that have floated around the world playing for various teams who could have come back and made a substantial amount of money here. So just, let's just go through with some of them. James Young, he went to the Red.
Shannon The Dude
Claws, the main Red Claws from Marcus Teague.
Drew Franklin
Right. Dakari Johnson.
Shannon The Dude
Dakari would have been. He's my. I wish he had stayed because he would have been on that team the following year with Euless Murray, they just didn't have any size. With Scowl and Marcus Lee.
Drew Franklin
Okay, those are, those are three who, who.
Shannon The Dude
Ashton Hagen.
Drew Franklin
Ashton another. I think E.J.
Shannon The Dude
Montgomery had a lot left. He went straight to Lithuania when he went pro.
Drew Franklin
Yes, that. They're those gu. If they come back, they all of a sudden are in a position to where they could have made a million and a half to $3 million that year and then given themselves a shot. Like when you look at the NBA draft this year, go look at mock draft boards. What you'll see is the top 15 to 20 picks are mostly first years. I mean that's gonna, and it's probably always going to be like that. But then when you get from 20 to 60, there's a lot of guys who are in their senior years and there's a lot of guys who after their freshman years, no chance they would have been drafted, right? No chance at all. So if we were picking all freshmen, these dudes, there's, there's zero chance these guys end up on an NBA roster. I mean, Kobe Brayer could get picked in the second round. Was he going to get picked after one year?
Shannon The Dude
No.
Drew Franklin
No chance. So I, I just think it is a really, really positive thing and for the sport and we were worried about all this chaos and, and I think football should still be worried because there are problems. But for basketball, I think it's almost a universal positive.
Shannon The Dude
You mentioned Tig. Think about the Nerlands year. He's the point guard instead of Harrow and you might even have a junior Duron Lamb. You know, he's, he probably would have stuck around. Just think of all the guys that could have had an extra year and gotten better. You would have returned pieces from the national championship season and put them with Nerlands. You know, it might throw off commitments you get over time, but it'd be fun to have those guys play a lot more basketball here and they would have made more money than they did in the league.
Drew Franklin
And from the fan perspective, like, you know, imagine a guy like Anthony Davis, you know, he's so talented, but if he decided to come back, but he's a bad exam. He's going number one. He does not. But he's not coming back. I mean like those dudes are not. There's no system where those guys come back. But that next tier of guys, the BJ Boston's of the world. Yeah, exactly. Another good example. I mean he's a guy who could have found a second, second year, another option of playing.
Shannon The Dude
I was begging for sophomore Chris Livingston. He was so missed.
Drew Franklin
He used here. He was a big one.
Shannon The Dude
He leaves after a bad year, gets a four year deal with the Bucks. I mean he's not a start or anything, but he plays quality minutes. He would have been a great sophomore.
Drew Franklin
So I, I do think it has been, you know, a pretty universal positive. Now you and I, Drew, we have to talk about this case, about the roofing. Come. The roofing guy.
Shannon The Dude
Yeah, it's not. Not great.
Drew Franklin
Okay, so the name of the roofing.
Shannon The Dude
Company, Shannon, I have anxiety us talking about.
Matt Jones
Yeah, roofing company already talking about here.
Drew Franklin
That's true. We've had. We've had a history of talking about things through the roof. But everything I'm reading you here, I just want to be clear. Everything's coming from the Herald Leader. So, like, my name's Bennett. I ain't in it. I am reading you Shannon Harold Leader. Okay? Okay. So get upset if you want it. My friend Janet Patton, she's the one that wrote this stuff. Can I read some of this, please? The owner of Lexington Blue, the roofing company accused of defrauding homeowners and insurance company, ran his firm as a cult of personality. His employees say, all right, now remember, he's originally in trouble. The AG's office is. Is investigating them for saying, hey, I'm gonna fix your roof, taking the money. And then he doesn't fix the roof. Right. This. This sentence is amazing. Brad Pagel encouraged employees to take psychedelic drugs, lectured them for hours about his metaphysical beliefs, and cheated them out of money, say several formal former workers. He routinely berated them under the guise of encouragement and bombarded sales team leaders with hundreds of intimidating texts. Now, would you like to know some.
Shannon The Dude
Of those texts, please?
Drew Franklin
Apparently, one of his employees made a post on Reddit that he didn't. He did not like that they made. He then got on allegedly on text and texted, we've got to get him. Find him a way to shut up. And then sent these crazy, intimidating, intimidating texts, basically about what he was going to do to him if he didn't. And they have the screenshots of.
Shannon The Dude
Yeah, I saw in the Herald Leader story, former employee said, this dude's like an absolute psychopath. I mean, just all the stuff he was doing, a lot of it you mentioned. And it's not like he took advantage of like 5 people or 20 people. It says there's hundreds of people that he took advantage of getting away with this for a long time.
Drew Franklin
And then, like, you the article, like, it's a long article, and the article is about all the stuff that he did and all the things that he wrote. Again, allegedly. And like, this is just a dude here in Lexington that was doing a roofing company. Again, we're careful about roofing companies, but it's. It's absolutely wild. He started after 10 years, Shannon, calling himself the Reverend.
Matt Jones
Yeah, that's a definite cult leader. So I'M gonna go back to the.
Drew Franklin
Guy just before you say that.
Matt Jones
Yeah.
Drew Franklin
If I'm working in a. If I ever say to you guys, all right, start calling me the Reverend, that's the moment you need to say, matt, it's been fun. I think it's time for you to move on. Stop. We're not calling you the Reverend. All right, go ahead.
Matt Jones
So the guy had his employees take. You said psychedelics. He had roofers up on a roof. On top. Yeah.
Drew Franklin
Yeah, but what.
Matt Jones
What form of. That sounds like a good idea. We're gonna get guys on top of a house that are on psychedelics.
Drew Franklin
I did not. Positive.
Matt Jones
I mean, this story is wild.
Drew Franklin
It's. It is. It is one of the wilder stories that I've ever seen about someone in Lexington that did this. He. He. He also. His social media included multiple pictures of him as Neo from the.
Shannon The Dude
I didn't see that part.
Drew Franklin
He would do motivational talks, one of which was shown to his employees. And here's how it started. This is Brad Pagel, AKA Leanne dad, coming at you live in one tape. Rough, rugged, and raw.
Shannon The Dude
I think I would have walked out of the office right there.
Drew Franklin
Today's talk is going to be about getting rid of the negative, the weak and the heavy, the blank in your life that doesn't jive with where we're going to go. If I said to you in a meeting, this is Matt Jones, Reverend Matt Jones, AKA Reverend I'm coming at you. I can't even say this without laughing. I'm coming at you in one tape. Rough, rugged, and raw. Pause. Would that have intimidated you?
Shannon The Dude
Now let's all eat these gummies and get out there and fix some roofs.
Drew Franklin
Here's some mushrooms, Shannon.
Matt Jones
Yeah.
Shannon The Dude
There's a ladder and some mushrooms.
Drew Franklin
Get to work, Shannon. Here's some mushroom. Let's go. Pull wire. Are you ready?
Matt Jones
I think that's how KSR ends the day that happens. We're. I'm out.
Drew Franklin
I'm just telling you, this story on the hair leader is a wild story, and I don't think it's gonna help this guy and his attorney General investigation, do you?
Shannon The Dude
They might revoke his status as reverend for all this. You know, with so many victims and being local, there's decent chance that some people listening were frauded by this guy. Maybe they can chime in, let us know what it was like.
Drew Franklin
Yes. Employees were told to watch the Wolf of Wall street, and then he would reenact the scene. Let's go. Roof.
Matt Jones
Seems like a lot. Seemed like a Lot of homework for a roofing job. You know, like, I just want to go hammer some nails.
Drew Franklin
That's true. You don't sign up for all this. When you go work in a roofing company, you're not like, all right, dude, stop. Dude. We don't need to watch the Matrix. I just have to put in the shing. Who's next?
Matt Jones
Jason.
Drew Franklin
Jason. Go ahead, Jason.
Ryan Lemond
Well, I don't think I have to worry about the mushrooms because evidently they weren't fixing any roofs anyway.
Drew Franklin
Yeah, they actually never got on a roof, so I guess it worked out.
Shannon The Dude
I got something. I don't know if you guys know.
Ryan Lemond
Or not, but I'm usually a podcast listener. Yesterday when you guys were talking about the offensive line coach as you faded out to commercial, and though sometimes the commercials aren't the same and don't line up, you could clearly hear Ryan say, I bet Freddie Maggior's not happy about it.
Drew Franklin
Yeah, he wants to say that on the air. But it did go through the air. He said, Freddie. Well, Freddie didn't like Will Wolford, Fred Freddie, or Eric. He didn't like. He doesn't like any Wolford. He didn't like Eric Wolford because he thought that Eric was not good about. Like, he only cared about the starters, and he didn't develop. Develop the bench. And then it showed itself when he went to Alabama, and there was a huge drop off in our players and. But that was. Freddie was very. Freddie thought he used. We had good starters that year. Will. Eric was here and. But he thought. He kind of worked him into the ground and then didn't develop the. The bench. And that. That really made Freddy mad. He thought sometimes at the end of the games, our guys were. Were dead because he didn't do what an offensive line coach should do. Yeah.
Ryan Lemond
Yeah. Well, I. Ryan's always entertaining, and I just thought. I didn't know if you all.
Drew Franklin
Yeah, no, it's. I mean, it's Ryan. Right? Like, that's what's gonna happen is that he's going to. He's gonna do that. But appreciate the call.
Matt Jones
Good reminder.
Shannon The Dude
These mics can be hot.
Matt Jones
Yeah. And give me a second to, like, turn off your mic before you start talking, thinking you're off the air.
Drew Franklin
Yeah. Brian is not gonna.
Matt Jones
It's not gonna immediately goes from you.
Drew Franklin
Okay, so the gu. Reddit. Sorry, back to our reverend. The guy that went on Reddit and complained he wrote to another employee. If that guy doesn't delete that post, he's going to end up in a van.
Matt Jones
Ooh, down by the river.
Drew Franklin
I mean, that's not good.
Shannon The Dude
No.
Drew Franklin
And also apparently afterwards, the guy who had made the comments would get anonymous text that say, we found you. You can't hide anymore. We are coming for you. That is creepy.
Shannon The Dude
It's like trying to start the mafia here with this roof.
Drew Franklin
I mean, this is. You're putting up roofs?
Ryan Lemond
Yeah.
Matt Jones
Imagine that you just sign up for a roofing job and next thing you know you're in a cult.
Drew Franklin
Unbelievable.
Matt Jones
Does that happen?
Drew Franklin
I don't know. 859-280-2287. We're gonna take a break. We'll be back here at the KS Bar Grill. It's Kentucky Sports Radio.
Matt Jones

Welcome back TY Sports Radio. Drew, Shannon, Mario and Reverend Matt. When you look in the mirror in the morning, do you have spots on your skin like. And do they worry you? Well, you should at least get them checked out. The Kentucky Skin Cancer center is here to help you. Locations in Owensboro, Bowling Green, Franklin and Powderley. Kentucky Skin cancer center has 1500 five star reviews. They'll check it out, make sure you don't have anything you need to worry about. If they need something removed, they'll do it. Go to the Kentucky skin Cancer Center, 708-421-1999. How come I can't read these? 270842 1999. They hide that two at the beginning.
Shannon The Dude
It's an important digit.
Drew Franklin
270. You need them all. 842 1999. Now, Shannon, you said one of the former employees of the Reverend is on the, is on the phone.
Matt Jones
Yeah, we got Tevis here.
Drew Franklin
Tevis, how are you? Tevis?
Ryan Lemond
Hey, Matt. I heard you talking about Brad Pagel, so I thought I might call in. I, I worked for Lexington Blue in the summer of 2016 while I was basically on summer break at UK and a lot, I mean, I can totally believe a lot of the stuff that's coming out today about him. It seems like he really kind of, his worst habits might have exacerbated over time. But I mean that was, that man is the most intense. Just, it was the most wild experience.
Drew Franklin
So give me an example. When you say he's intense, when you say he's intense as a, as a roof boss, like, give me an example of something that would have happened that was intense.
Ryan Lemond
Okay. So like, you know, I'm all, I'm at a job all day long. We get done when the roof's done. So I'm dropping the work. I'm coming back to the office with a work truck. And he brings us into the, he brings me or whoever else is around into the office to do one of those motivational sessions that you read about. I can't even remember what type of you get taught.
Drew Franklin
You get told you're going to have to do a motivational session. What does everybody think we are here to make build roofs. We're not here for motivation. So you walk in and then what.
Ryan Lemond
Do they Say, Well, I remember he played some sort of movie video that I can't even. This is a while back, so I can't remember exactly what was going on. But, you know, it's a lot of talk about, like, you know, being your best self. And I mean, it was just totally. I can't even describe it.
Drew Franklin
So you. You're gonna be your best self, but ultimately you're just supposed to put up a roof. So did everybody kind of think this is ridiculous?
Ryan Lemond
Oh, it's totally ridiculous. And he had a sovereign citizen qualities at the time, I remember. And I think that's kind of played out the way he's rep. Well, you know, you know, the people who like the law, like, say you get pulled over by a cop and he's like, well, I'm traveling, I'm not drive. Like that type of stuff. Right.
Drew Franklin
Oh, so he would claim he was sovereign and above the law.
Ryan Lemond
Yeah. Yeah. And, you know, mar.
Drew Franklin
So did you like him? Did you like him as a boss? Or did you think, I got to get out of this?
Ryan Lemond
Well, he. I thought he was a bit crazy, but, you know, to be honest. And part of the reason I wanted to call in at least isn't the vouch for the guy. Then again, this is nine. Nine years ago, too. But, like, I will. I will say about him, he always had my back. Like, if I got. If I ran into any trouble with a homeowners association or just somebody who was rude, like, he. He would always stand up for me. He. He would show that he cared about me in particular. I can't speak for everybody, so he didn't.
Matt Jones
But you.
Drew Franklin
He didn't make.
Ryan Lemond
At the same time. No, no, no, no. But at the same time. Like, I. I knew this. I. I figured the company probably would have failed a lot sooner than it did. It was just a. What? I mean, I. I don't even know how to get into it all, really, but I just wanted to give you an idea.
Drew Franklin
Appreciate the call. So, see, all the way going back to 2016, would you be a sovereign citizen? The law doesn't apply to you.
Shannon The Dude
But I'm like, someone told me he has. He has a book on Amazon.
Drew Franklin
What's the name of the book?
Shannon The Dude
Well, it's by Dr. Brad Pagel. I'm gonna assume it's him. It's called the Alchemy of Greatness. The Mind, the Hustle and the Awakening.
Drew Franklin
Oh. How about. What are the reviews?
Shannon The Dude
It actually has four or five star reviews.
Drew Franklin
Wow. Well, maybe. Maybe. Shannon, I need to start making you all Read that.
Matt Jones
How many one star reviews?
Drew Franklin
One of them is written by a guy named Brad.
Shannon The Dude
Maybe there's two Brads in this equation. Could be him reviewing his own book. But he does have four or five star reviews. Give him some credit.
Drew Franklin
Okay, well, there you go. Who's next?
Matt Jones
Go to Matt.
Drew Franklin
Matt. What's up, Matt?
Ryan Lemond
How's it going? You guys were talking about the draft. My dad enlisted in the Marine Corps in 69, thinking that the draft was inevitable. And the YouTube video that you spoke about, you could see it clear as Day. He was 001. His birthday was September 14th. He was the very first date. Oh, in the draft.
Drew Franklin
That's brutal. So he was going anyway. So. So enlisting probably helped him find a better location than he would have. Right, right. He actually.
Ryan Lemond
He didn't serve in combat. He was in Okinawa. His service time was two years and he got to come home. But yeah, he was lucky. He was very lucky. But there's a. My question was. My ask anything question was, if you had to enlist, what branch would it be and why?
Drew Franklin
Well, I appreciate the call. I think if I had to enlist, I would try to do something with the law or, you know, I've seen Good Morning Vietnam. They have a radio thing, don't they, Shannon? In the military? Yes. I could be in the. In the radio part, but I would think maybe. What is it? JAG Corps or something like that? I would be. I freely. I would be horrible in the military. I mean, I would be. So would you, Mario. Me too. Yeah. Who would be good out of our group?
Ryan Lemond
Ryan.
Drew Franklin
Ryan would be good.
Matt Jones
He's the guy you want to be in the trenches with. He's loyal.
Drew Franklin
You're exactly right. He'll. He'll do what you say. Like, he's a. He's a good direction follower. Drew be good.
Matt Jones
He'll figure it out.
Shannon The Dude
Well, having been lucky to do the. We did the jump with the Golden Knights, and then I've done the Blue Angels flight. I. I feel like I'd be an Air Force guy. I need to be in the skies.
Drew Franklin
Yeah. I'm scared of flying. I'm not doing that. I think I'm gonna have to do. I hope they still have Good morning Vietnam the show. I'll just do that one. We'll take a break. Be right back here at KS bars. Kentucky Sports Radio. Good morning.
Matt Jones
TJ Smith, personal injury attorney. Call tj. He'll make him pay. Now more of Kentucky Sports Radio, presented by Stockton Mortgage. Here's Matt Jones.
Drew Franklin
Welcome back. It is Kentucky Sports Radio. I have to say this. Drew keeps finding out more stuff about my man. What's the name of his book?
Shannon The Dude
Well, he has 12 books.
Drew Franklin
12 books.
Shannon The Dude
12 books. One of them is called Roof Warrior.
Drew Franklin
Roof Warrior.
Shannon The Dude
A lot of, like, the art of closing the deal and going door to door. You know, a lot. A lot of sales talk.
Drew Franklin
Yeah. All right. And then you said.
Shannon The Dude
I was. I was reading the Herald Leader story. It said that he would give talks on the Rothschild family, the Illuminati, his weight loss, and his Tinder profile.
Drew Franklin
And his Tinder profile.
Shannon The Dude
Those are four very different things. Or maybe you combined them. I don't know.
Drew Franklin
It's a strange man. Seems like a pretty strange man. I'm not going.
Shannon The Dude
Leaders doing a great job with this.
Drew Franklin
The Breeders cup is coming back to Lexington next year. Very excited about that. We have basically stolen the Breeders cup from Louisville. For whatever reason, the Breeders cup is not interested in going to Churchill Downs. They seem to be basically all in on Lexington, and it is all Breeders cup in Keeneland. They'll do that in 2026. It looks like the Breeders Cups going to go California, Kentucky, California, Kentucky. And it looks like the Kentucky one is going to be Keeneland.
Shannon The Dude
Yeah, I remember. I don't know the exact year, but the first year Keeneland had it, there were some current concerns about Lexington as the city being a good host, and they absolutely nailed it. Everyone raved about it. Had it. We've had it since I. It keeps going. We've been. We've gone a few times. That's when we had the Toby Keith trash dogs. Right.
Drew Franklin
Well, I mean that. The two they've had were American Pharaoh and Justified.
Shannon The Dude
That helps.
Drew Franklin
They've had pretty good. They've had pretty good ones, but both.
Shannon The Dude
Times, Lexington, the city was a great host, so I can see why they'd want to keep it here.
Drew Franklin
Yeah, it's pretty. Pretty good stuff for the city of Lexington is about as bad as positive a news as you can get. Who's up next?
Matt Jones
Bob.
Drew Franklin
Okay, Bob. What? Go ahead, Bob. Yeah.
Ryan Lemond
Hey, Matt. Hey. You have so many irons in the fire. And all things being equal from most likely the least likely, what activity or thing would you give up? And also one other quick thing. Have you all heard anything about the AI that blackmailed his programmer?
Drew Franklin
No, but that worries me. Yeah, that's. That's the kind of thing I'm very, very worried about.
Ryan Lemond
Real quick, let me tell you what happened. I heard this morning on news this guy programmed emails in this AI in his office there, and he was going to take that AI down and replace it with another. And it sent him an email threatening to tell his wife that he was having an affair.
Drew Franklin
Oh, yeah. Well, that's. That's a crazy story. I appreciate the call. As far, as far as giving stuff up, this is the one that I would probably give up last because this is the one that is the most successful, profitable. And so this is going to be the one that I. I would handle the. The show. The show, yes. Yeah. Yeah. Every. Everything else, you know, everything else depends on. On the stuff you got going.
Shannon The Dude
I think the first you give up is your cooking. How's that going?
Drew Franklin
No, I was. How was your cooking? I mean, not as quickly as I would have liked, but better than you would think. I've done a little bit. I've done a little preheated. I've. I've watched videos. I've tried a couple things. I don't want to, like, get too excited because I don't want people thinking I'm more advanced than I am, which is what I'm worried they think.
Shannon The Dude
Well, that one. I've had a lot of people ask me. So if you're giving something up, I can see you abandoning the cooking career.
Drew Franklin
Well, we'll have to. We'll have to see you. Rail Bird is this weekend. Who are the leads? You got Jelly Roll, Lainey Wilson, and who's the other one?
Shannon The Dude
There's Riley Green mustache. The women are upset about that. I saw.
Drew Franklin
So how do you think the. It's. It looks like Sunday. I can just tell by the parking stuff. Here we. Sunday. We have filled up pretty close. Saturday, not as much. So much. I don't know. I wonder, is it. Who's the. Who's the lead on Sunday?
Shannon The Dude
Sunday's Jelly Roll.
Matt Jones
Okay, so that's probably why Lainey Wilson on Saturday.
Shannon The Dude
So your boy Shaboozi's also on Saturday.
Drew Franklin
Shaboozi.
Shannon The Dude
They're still interviewing him.
Drew Franklin
I was told by someone that Shaboozie has been here all week, that Shaboozi has Lexington. Shaboozi has been seen around the city of Lexington all week. So what do you think about that?
Shannon The Dude
That's neat. I mean, that's a big star. I'm glad he's enjoying our town. He'll also be with Bailey Zimmerman. You big Bailey Zimmerman guy.
Drew Franklin
Don't know who that is.
Shannon The Dude
That's the second headliner behind Lady Wilson.
Drew Franklin
That might be why Saturday hasn't been quite as.
Shannon The Dude
Yeah. Maybe Shaboozi could come by Cast bar.
Drew Franklin
Yeah, like I said, I'VE heard he's been here for quite some time. So that's kind of. I guess that's. That's good. Hopefully it works out. Who's next?
Matt Jones
Jamie.
Drew Franklin
Jamie. Go ahead, Jamie.
Ryan Lemond
Yes, sir, It's Jamie from Glasgow, Kentucky.
Drew Franklin
Okay.
Ryan Lemond
Listen, I think it's maybe my second time calling.
Drew Franklin
All right.
Ryan Lemond
I was just wondering. I was just wondering. I. I'm not a big spender, and it took a lot of convincing to get me to buy a pair of them Shady Rays. I was just wondering if y' all get some kind of kickback because they're pretty good glasses.
Drew Franklin
We do not. I mean, the. We do not get a kickback. No, as they. They, you know, I mean, they pay for the ad, but my assumption is people buy them because they keep paying for them. But I'm. I'm Shady Rays. I said I've lost 150 pairs because I. I lose sunglasses, but I do. I do think they're very good.
Ryan Lemond
Well, I. One Fire turned into three Fire. Somehow I give my wife my debit card and One pair turned into three Fire. Exactly works. But they are really. They are really good glasses. I'm gonna give you that.
Drew Franklin
All right, well, thank you very much, sir. Appreciate the call. 859-280-2287. We got some breaking news, Shannon.
Matt Jones
Oh, let me get it ready. All right.
Drew Franklin
One in. Charlie Baker. The president of the NCAA says their goal is to try to expand the NCAA tournament to 72 teams, hopefully by this season. Too many teams, man. Too many teams.
Shannon The Dude
I don't like that.
Drew Franklin
You don't like that?
Shannon The Dude
What's that?
Drew Franklin
Four more?
Shannon The Dude
It's not the end of the world. But I just. It's. It's fine. Let's just stop adding more, because then you had four more on down the road.
Drew Franklin
That's. Would that be an extra round then if he had. Well, no. What they would do is they would make the play in games. There would. Now there's four of them. There would be eight. So you would have probably games all day on Tuesday, all day on Wednesday. So. So that the idea would be, rather than just playing Tuesday and Wednesday night of that week, there'd be games starting at noon on Tuesday, games starting at noon on Wednesday.
Shannon The Dude
I mean, I'm not upset about the opportunity to do more March Madness betting, especially in the day, but I just. I like it where it is with the NCAA Tournament. We don't need more.
Drew Franklin
I don't understand why they think they need more. First of all, now you're going to end up with more Bad teams from big conferences. That's who's going to be. That's who's going to. Exactly what it's, it's not going to be. It's not like they're going to get. Of those four new teams, maybe one will be a mid major, but three of them will be, you know who made it last year? North Carolina. And they were terrible. They're going to be teams like that. I don't feel like, I mean it's not necessary, but you know why they're doing it. They're doing it for money and that's the reason.
Shannon The Dude
What would Rob Doster and Jeff Goodman do with their big field of 68 operations?
Drew Franklin
I have to change the name to field of 72.
Shannon The Dude
Somebody should go buy that web domain right now.
Drew Franklin
Yeah. So don't like it.
Shannon The Dude
I don't love it. I mean I, I'll admit I would enjoy a noon game being on the draft Kings app, but I'd rather them not do it.
Drew Franklin
Also, the SEC said yesterday, I don't know if you noticed, the presidents had come out and said they wanted to have the NCAA Football Playoff with four teams from the sec, four from the Big Ten, two, blah blah, blah blah. Then Brian Kelly and the SEC coaches came out and said take the five best conference champions and then all 11 wild card. They kind of like publicly went against their presidents, which was kind of an interesting thing to see. Did that surprise you?
Shannon The Dude
A little bit. I like the keeping it open. I think the SEC would still get most of them anyway. Like last year. I think if you had a first out in football, it would been mostly sec, Ole Miss, Alabama, South Carolina. So I think even though it doesn't have the automatic bids that the SEC would get now, I still think it would end up being more sec.
Drew Franklin
Yeah, I was just a little surprised to see the SEC basically publicly come out. To have the coaches come out and just like disagree with their, with their, with their, with their bosses. You don't see that a lot. You don't, you don't.
Shannon The Dude
But yeah, sec, it's too much of.
Drew Franklin
A dominant conference for, for that to happen. I feel like, yeah, SEC is just going to fill up the space and that's fine. I'm good with that. But just make them earn it, right?
Shannon The Dude
Yeah. I feel like down there in Destin this week, Greg Sankey's been getting a little sassy. I keep seeing stories about, you know, Sankey kind of scolding people what people been saying. He's denying stuff. Not a lot of ton of news and decisions coming out. They didn't do anything with the schedule. But Sanki's getting very loud.
Drew Franklin
And part of the agreement was that we would play a Big Ten football team every year. So, so basically the SEC would go to nine conference games and a game against the Big Ten. If that happens, the Louisville games off the schedule, we're not playing. If that happens, they'll get rid of the Louisville game.
Shannon The Dude
Well, he did say he's encouraging teams to keep their conference their, their longtime rival. But if you add.
Drew Franklin
Yeah, if you make us play nine conference games and then you make us add a Big Ten team and then we play Louisville, we're only gonna have one game, we can certainly win. Our chances of you making a bowl every year start to become very difficult, Shannon. Like, I mean, if we have to pay 11 major conference teams, us making a bowl becomes not a regular occurrence. Right?
Matt Jones
Yeah. That's why you want to keep it at 8 if you're Kentucky, I mean, there's no, there's favors adding another game or two.
Drew Franklin
There's no upside. At least in the current system. We have three gimme wins in a system where we have to play a Big Ten team. Now we're down to, to two. And then if you play nine conference games, Drew, you're down to one.
Shannon The Dude
I would enjoy the Big Ten game, though. Just something different. We've, we've been going to the same SEC cities forever. I would like going to a Wisconsin or an Iowa. Really anywhere but Indiana and playing a game there just for something new.
Drew Franklin
I think for something new it would be good. I'd like to see him do eight conference games, make us play a Big Ten team. We keep Louisville and then we play two bad teams. I'm good with that schedule. That's what I would like to, to see.
Shannon The Dude
Yeah, me too. I like that a lot.
Drew Franklin

Drew Franklin
So this is Bailey Zimmerman. Who? I didn't know who that was. This is. He seems great.
Matt Jones
Something you've got a country.
Drew Franklin
Yeah, I can see. I I'd like to make sure I get there for Bailey Zimmerman.
Matt Jones
You're not. I'm not sold on your.
Drew Franklin
I mean, like, it's. It's. It's great.
Shannon The Dude
What's your favorite part about it?
Drew Franklin
Well, I mean, I like how he's singing in. In. In very generic music that could be created by AI, and it's probably a love story about someone. That's wonderful. But then he also. He's not perfect. He drinks beer a little too much and is a little rough around the edges. I don't even know if that's what the song. But that's every country song, and it's just pleasant enough that it's not going to offend anyone, but it also is. Is completely uninteresting.
Shannon The Dude
What was the title of it again?
Matt Jones
Holy Smokes.
Drew Franklin
Holy Smokes. Okay, Shannon, just pull up the Holy Smokes lyrics. And again, I've never heard this song. I didn't hear one word. And just read me what the. The first verse is. It's. It's going to be terrible.
Matt Jones
Okay, well, you got to listen to the song while I'm pulling it up.
Drew Franklin
Yeah, please do.
Matt Jones
All right. The first verse.
Drew Franklin
Yeah, read it.
Matt Jones
Well, I was only scared of the devil and her dad so we park somewhere we knew they'd never look oh, yeah. No, I've never seen nothing like her playing with the flame of her mama's lighter.
Drew Franklin
Oh, my gosh.
Matt Jones
No. It wasn't very long before I was hooked.
Drew Franklin
See, that's awful. I mean, everything about that is objectively awful. First of all, I didn't even know what it was about. I already guessed. Clearly, he's rough around the edges. That's why her dad doesn't like him.
Matt Jones
You want to continue?
Drew Franklin
No, she's. Well, if. If it's worthwhile, which I'm sure it is.
Shannon The Dude
Shannon, go to the part that starts with life wasn't.
Matt Jones
I think it's life wasn't heavy in the back of that Chevy. Me, her and the Holy Ghost.
Drew Franklin
Okay, he did not say me, her, and the Holy Ghost.
Matt Jones
Something about us. Hell of a rush. Falling in love Lighting up them holy smokes.
Drew Franklin
First of all, did he write that in, like, eight minutes. That's.
Matt Jones
GBT wrote that.
Drew Franklin
That. That is the. That's the worst song. Right?
Shannon The Dude
So you're not going to be there for Bailey.
Drew Franklin
Compare that to, like, Tyler Childers. You remind me of a Sunday back home in Old Kentucky. That's beautiful, right? What? Like, that's a really. You know. And then this is lighting it up with the Girl and the Holy Ghost and the smokes Lighter.
Matt Jones
I got, I got more. I can continue.
Drew Franklin
I'm good. That's plenty.
Matt Jones
That's the best part.
Drew Franklin
Okay, go ahead. What's. What's the best part?
Matt Jones
Heaven was a preacher's spot in that first church parking lot Hanging on to me like the cross on a rear view does. Her eyes were blue, the words were red on that half pack of cigarettes at 17. That was Hallelujah.
Drew Franklin
This man is comparing his woman to God to a pack of cigarettes at 17.
Matt Jones
That's what Hallelujah was.
Shannon The Dude
Holy smokes. Great title for the story.
Drew Franklin
Makes sense. There is a time that would have been considered blasphemous to compare God to cigarettes.
Matt Jones
Hanging on to me like the cross on a rear view.
Drew Franklin
Well, now I know why Saturday is not quite as popular at The all right. DraftKings, Pacers and Knicks tonight, game five go to DraftKings. Bet $5 to get $300. They will not be playing Bailey Zimmerman at that bet five, get $300 if you win it is a in bonus bets. DraftKings, the crown is yours. The Knicks are a four and a half point favorite at home. Do you like them to keep the series going?
Shannon The Dude
Well, I should add I've been wrong now six times in a row. I started hot in the playoffs. I didn't miss for the first two rounds. Gone cold here. I'm gonna say the Pacers put them away. Even though I've been on the Knicks this whole time. I think it's the end of the road.
Drew Franklin
I think the Garden's gonna be rocking.
Matt Jones
So I'm gonna, I'm gonna go with.
Drew Franklin
The Knicks on this one. They're gonna take it back to game six. I got, I'll give, I'll take the Knicks. I think you go to game six, then the Pacers win. Game six probably is the. Is the way it goes. I think you're gonna get good Jalen performance, good Zesty Carl performance. Miles Bridges gets going and you end up getting the win.
Shannon The Dude
Okay, I think Zesty Carl's questionable with the bang his knee.
Drew Franklin
Zesty Carl doesn't play. Then we're. Then it's Pacers because they won't win without him.
Shannon The Dude
Listen, I love Carl, one of my all time favorites. I want him to get a ring. But I, I saw more of those videos last night.
Drew Franklin
I think this is everywhere. But you know what's funny is I think this is making him likable now. I think, you know, because people had always kind of thought he was kind of Dorky and weird. And I think NBA people were, like, they didn't really know what to think about him. And I think this whole zesty Carl thing is, like, making it to where people are kind of embracing him a little bit. Right? I think he's embracing it.
Ryan Lemond
It, too.
Drew Franklin
I think he should embrace it. He should come out tonight and go foul. Like, he should do that. Sec.
Shannon The Dude
The one I saw was Carl town's top five zestiest moments. And I was like, I don't want to watch this, but I have to watch it.
Drew Franklin
I have watched that same video seven times. And when he goes. And after all that, that you can't.
Shannon The Dude
I love Carl. I don't even like bringing it up, but it's everywhere. It's everywhere.
Drew Franklin
It's everywhere. And I think it's. I think it has made him. I think it's made him more likable. I really do. All right, who's next?
Matt Jones
Aaron.
Drew Franklin
Aaron. Go ahead, Aaron. For sure.
Ryan Lemond
Hey, fellas. I'm from the Smith.
Drew Franklin
Yeah, go ahead.
Ryan Lemond
So I. I grew up in the Smithland area there that you was talking about with the crypto guy.
Drew Franklin
Oh, okay. With the house. Yes.
Ryan Lemond
And the house that you was actually showing. So that's the original Smith mansion. It's right next to the river. It's kind of like a landmark in that area. There's not many houses like that around there.
Drew Franklin
I would assume so, yeah.
Ryan Lemond
And I'm 29 now, so, like, my whole life, that house has kind of been vacant. So it's kind of wild if he actually did live there, because Paducah is only, like, 20 minutes away. So whenever you sold that house, it was kind of wild because, like I said, I'm 29, and I've never known of anybody actually living there.
Drew Franklin
Well, apparently he did. Apparently he just bought it, like, eight months ago. So he hadn't been there very long. $1.5 million. Have you ever been in it? Somebody told me they went to Livingston County High school and they would do their high school graduation pictures there. Did you do that?
Ryan Lemond
So, no. So I actually. My sister and all them. Everybody else went there. I went to Crittenden County. I lived in Livingston, though, for a long time.
Drew Franklin
Okay.
Ryan Lemond
But really nobody was ever, like, allowed in that house. It's known that there's, like, tunnels. There's all kinds of stuff with it. So if you, like, look it up online, you can see there's all kinds of crazy stuff around that house. But actually going in it, you, like, really. Even growing up there, you didn't hear of many people like going inside. Like a lot of the pictures were on the outside there.
Drew Franklin
Yeah. All right, well, I appreciate it. I'd be. I'm fat. I think it'll be up for sale again because this dude's probably going, going to the pokey and they're gonna probably have to put that, that for sale for some restitution would think.
Shannon The Dude
Yeah, I don't know that he's gonna get out of this one reading all the reports of what it's been alleged and how much trouble he's in.
Drew Franklin
Yeah, that's right. 85928. Well, well, we don't have to do that. Trivia is tonight. Come on out starts at 7:00. We got a handful of tables left, so get your, make sure to come in, get there a little early, get your seat. I got to finish the questions. I'm a little behind. But Mario will be here for our final qualifier tonight. You ready to rock?
Shannon The Dude
I think Ryan's family's coming, coming too, so.
Ryan Lemond
Yeah.
Drew Franklin
Oh, Ryan's family's coming.
Shannon The Dude
A lot of them in yesterday.
Drew Franklin
Well, good for him. That'll be awesome. Ryan's got a big family and again, congrats to him for graduation. Congrats to all of the graduates. Hope everybody has a great day. Watch out for roofing, you know, watch out for the reverend when you're going around. Mario, thank you for filling in. Thank you for having me, guys. Thanks to my parents who just who showed up a little while. Go. Larry's been making a ruckus here next to me. Hard to concentrate. We will see you later. This has been Kentucky sports radio.
