Nmlsconsumeraccess.Org welcome to hour two of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage. Now here's Matt Jones.
Matt Jones
Welcome back. Hour number two Kentucky Sports Radio 859-280-2287. Text machine 772-774-5254 thanks for everybody. Writing in Text Machine has been rolling along well today to follow people to say in some group Shannon where they fight. Apparently they say Alison Change used to fight a lot.
Shannon The Dude
Oasis, Alice in Chains. Used to. I never heard those and I'm a big fan of those guys. Oasis.
Matt Jones
Oasis. Yeah, they're brothers and they stay Oasis and they're always like going at it.
Ryan Lemond
Fighting all the time.
Shannon The Dude
But yeah, your accent. Black crows hated each other. Well remember during the MTV for Oasis, the MTV Unplugged, the one singer was like setting up in the rafters, heckling the rest of the band while he wasn't even a part of it.
Matt Jones
Yeah, they have a really weird relationship. All right, so here we're going to play. Listen if you're on hold and you want to play this, I'll let you. If you don't go Ahead and hang up because this is for the KSR comes to you. Now we need to give a bit a better name for it. I don't want to say KSR in your house because here's the thing. If you would like KSR to come to you and do a show at a place of your choosing, the only thing is it can't be like a business. And if it can be a business, but it can't be a business like a retail business. Like I can't come advertise your store.
Ryan Lemond
Correct.
Matt Jones
But if you want to like have it at your office or something like that, I can do that, but I can't advertise your place business.
Ryan Lemond
Right.
Matt Jones
If you want us to have at your house, you could say have it. You can, you can pick. The game though is you have to make the case of why we should come to your place. So you can call right now. 859-280-2287. I see a couple people on the line. Y' all are lucky. I'm gonna let you play. But if you don't want us to come to your place, tap out. But then tap out.
Ryan Lemond
Yeah.
Matt Jones
859-280-2287. Phone lines are open. This is just for Lexington today, correct? Okay. Yeah, we'll move into other parts of the state, but this is just for Lexington now. Hopefully, Ryan, people would like us to come.
Ryan Lemond
Yes.
Matt Jones
If no one wants us to come, then this game does not work as well.
Shannon The Dude
I can tell you why. Number one, you just said Lexington only. And I see a caller that's on there that says he's from Louisville. So people are not listening already.
Matt Jones
See, I don't understand why people don't understand the rules. So Dave here. Just put Dave on real quick. Dave, you're in Louisville, right?
Caller
Yes.
Matt Jones
Are you wanting to play the game?
Caller
No, thank you, sir.
Matt Jones
But I just said if you didn't want to play the game, you could call back later.
Ryan Lemond
That's why this works. He gets so mad.
Matt Jones
Dave. Yes, sir, but did you hear the rules?
Caller
I did not. I was in the other room. He was in the other room going on there, buddy. So I'm.
Matt Jones
He was in the other room. Okay, Dave, what did you have that was not this. Go ahead.
Caller
Just. I was going to tell you guys I'm bringing Laughlin join our vacation and I'm getting ready to leave here tomorrow. And the thing is, Kentucky just got all the way back on for the the game for the years next year. So I'm going to put some money on the Cats to maybe reach the final Four. And I'm thinking about putting 100. But what do you guys think about me upping it to $1,000 for him just to reach the final Four? Because of our way coming back, and I think we got a good shot. And I just want to hang up, listen to you guys talk about that. I'm just going to think about.
Matt Jones
I don't know what the money means to you, sir. If the money means a lot, don't bet a thousand dollars. The money is just like play money for you. Then go for it. Cause I think Kentucky has a good chance. But just make sure you pay more attention to the terms and conditions of the bet than the rules of this game that we played earlier. But, yes, go for it if you have the money, but if you don't, you know, it's not my fault, right?
Ryan Lemond
Yeah. You know, a thousand dollars. A lot of money for me. I bet maybe 10. Yeah, I'm feel good on a $10 bet to the final four.
Matt Jones
All right, so you're telling me, Shannon, everyone that's on this list is from Lexington up? Somebody already dropped off?
Shannon The Dude
Yeah, I can't. I can't promise you anything. I mean, they're.
Matt Jones
All right. You need to be Lexington, and you want us to come out of your house and there goes another one. Yeah. All right. At least they're following the direction.
Ryan Lemond
That's true.
Matt Jones
Okay.
Ryan Lemond
They just heard you get onto that guy.
Matt Jones
All right? So, okay. Hopefully these other two lines will fail once we start, because people started dropping off. So this is if you want KSR to come to your house or place in Lexington next week.
Ryan Lemond
Next week.
Matt Jones
And you're going to make the case. We're going to pick which one goes. Okay. Tristan and another person dropped off. Shannon did. None of these people were listening to the rules.
Shannon The Dude
Nobody knows. Nobody can follow direction.
Matt Jones
Okay. Tristan, where are you from?
Caller
Good morning, gentlemen. I'm here in Lexington.
Matt Jones
Lexington where? Tristan, give us the case as to why we should do the show at your place.
Caller
I humbly offer the location of our Masonic Lodge on Southland Drive.
Matt Jones
The Masonic Lodge. Okay. Why should we go there?
Caller
Well, for one, it's easy to get to on Southland. And the other thing is that I firmly believe that there are hundreds of people listening to this show right now that have Freemasonry in your heart, that live by Masonic values. But I've never once heard of Freemasonry or ever stepped foot in the lodge. And so it's, you know, you guys come in there is doing the double service of providing a service to you and also to, you know, building the spiritual temples of our communities.
Matt Jones
Okay. All right, hang on right there. So Masonic Lodge in Lexington. Isn't that. That's a big building. It is.
Ryan Lemond
They just moved into it. It's on Southland Drive. It's where the. Used to be a restaurant there. Can't remember the name of the restaurant. They bought this facility and moved in there.
Matt Jones
Okay. All right, so that's number one. Let's go to Michael one. Michael, are you in Lexington?
Ryan Lemond
Yes.
Matt Jones
Okay, where should we get. Explain to us where we should go and why.
Caller
Now, I know you said you wouldn't do endorsements, but I think you could do a strong recommendation for the new Sierras that's opening off of Sir Barton Way. I think that would be a great place.
Matt Jones
Again, I said we cannot do endorsements. We can only do. See, Shannon, we can't do endorsements because that would be. People have to pay for that. This is supposed to be something fun.
Ryan Lemond
Yes.
Matt Jones
Your house or your. You know, the Masonic Lodge is different. We. We can't do endorsements.
Ryan Lemond
Yeah. If you got a cool backyard or.
Matt Jones
Cool basement, maybe you like, you'll. You'll help us set up on the street. I'm good with all that.
Ryan Lemond
Yeah.
Matt Jones
Can't do endorsements. All right, Gabe. Since Michael one didn't follow the rules. Gabe, what do you got? Gabe? This is really going well.
Ryan Lemond
That's why I love these content.
Matt Jones
This is really going well. Shannon?
Caller
Yeah?
Matt Jones
Is Gabe on the phone?
Caller
Is this Dave or Gabe?
Shannon The Dude
Gabe.
Matt Jones
You're the one on the phone. What do you mean?
Shannon The Dude
We're talking to you.
Matt Jones
Go ahead.
Caller
My name. My name is Dave, like David.
Shannon The Dude
Well, it says Gabe here. So you're Gabe right now.
Matt Jones
Well, you're the one that wrote that. All right, go ahead, Dave. Go ahead.
Caller
I've got a private residence across from Jacobson park in a subdivision newly refinished back deck. So we have indoor and outdoor weather plan. The back is all woods.
Matt Jones
Okay.
Caller
Indoor is a lower level that has a gym, a bar, a theater in a large seating area with all kinds of sports memorabilia in there. I got a caveat is retired military. I moved here from Washington, D.C. so the sports memorabilia is the Washington Nationals.
Matt Jones
Okay.
Caller
Championship and the Washington capital.
Matt Jones
So you're at Jacobson Park. Jacobson park suburb close to there would let us use your backyard and has an indoor outdoor possibility. All right, Good candidate. Hang on just a second. All right.
Caller
And there's a hot.
Shannon The Dude
Yep.
Matt Jones
And there's a hot tub. I'm not getting in the hot tub with you, Dave. Sorry, that's. That's. Actually. That's a. That's a strike against. All right, so, Michael now. So hang on, Dave. Michael, what is your. Where are you?
Caller
Hey, what's up? So I'm in Lexington, but it actually wouldn't be at my house. It would be at a friend's house. And I haven't actually asked him if he'd be willing to. But let me. Let me give you the case.
Matt Jones
Okay.
Caller
So he. We both graduated law school this spring. We're studying for the bar right now. He has listened to probably every KSR episode for three. At least three years. I can guarantee that. And he is much smarter than I am. You all could talk about the law. It would be so much fun.
Matt Jones
But you haven't asked.
Caller
I think it would be funny for you to. No, I haven't asked him, but I think it would be funny if you showed up and he was studying for the bar because, like, he genuinely loves you guys, I think.
Matt Jones
I can't just show up at someone's house inside new and they don't know that I'm coming. That. Because if they don't want us to.
Caller
No, no, I'll let them know. I just haven't asked him yet.
Matt Jones
All right, all right, hang on. Michael, I'm going to leave you on the phone. I don't know if that's going to work, that you haven't asked him yet, but if he's.
Ryan Lemond
If he's such a big fan, he may be listening right now.
Matt Jones
He may be.
Ryan Lemond
It's true.
Matt Jones
All right, well, let's go to Blake. Go ahead. Blake. Blake, where do you think we in Lexington? Where would we do it?
Caller
I'm in Lexington, over in the Southland area, so I'm not far away from downtown. We've got a fresh new renovation on the back of the house that my. Myself and my stepdad and father in law built ourselves. And we've got a nice covered patio and cool little outdoor space for you all, and you can do it inside as well. So we've got space for you inside or out, but listen to you every day. Love the show and love to talk to you about, you know, sports and. And politics and all sorts of stuff. So that'd be fun.
Matt Jones
All right. All right. So there we go. Southland. He has a renovation. It's always nice to celebrate a renovation.
Ryan Lemond
Is true. Yeah. Like the newly remodeled Shoney's in Elizabethtown.
Matt Jones
Just like that. That's exactly right. It is just like the newly remodeled show. All right. So we have two more, actually. Blake, you just hung up, so I can't. We. Huh?
Shannon The Dude
He hung up. Yeah.
Matt Jones
All right, Blake, well, you're out. You can't hang up. So now we're down to Charlie and Jane. Charlie, Go ahead, Charlie.
Caller
Yeah, Matt, I just wanted to say something. I was on the phone when you said anybody can call and now is eligible, and then you said, only from Lexington, which I'm, like, now sound like a jerk.
Matt Jones
Well, waiting. Well, we said Lexington earlier. Yeah, we've said it.
Caller
Oh, okay. I caught you a little bit. I caught you a little bit late.
Matt Jones
So I'll call you when you're out of Lexington. That'll be fine. All right. Thank you, Charlie. So now he's out as well. Slowly, this is starting to dwindle down, and it's. But it's also narrowing our choices. Very true. It's working itself out right before our eyes because people keep having to. To drop out. All right, we'll do one more. Jane, Jane, what's your.
Jane
Yes, here's my case. Sorry you're having a hard time, but okay. I'm a grassy. Yeah, My. My son goes to UK as a junior. He has a house. Eight guys live in it. They're all in the same fraternity, but two floors, right down the street from your bar. It's on Maxwell, I think. Anyway, we would love to have you come in there. And it's just. There's not. I don't have anything fancy, but that is a house of some real passionate University of Kentucky.
Matt Jones
Frat house.
Jane
Yeah, it's a gay eight guy frat house. Now it's two floors, and you'd be on the second floor with my son, with his three guys or whatever. But they have followed Mario. Yeah. And they have followed you since. I have followed you since I was ever. My mom went there third year, and then the four of them, they're with a frat house. Yeah, they won the dance contest. You remember that big dance contest at Rubberina recently? So they.
Matt Jones
Okay, but they just.
Jane
They've got TVs up and they're ready to go. Yeah, they got TVs up. They watch sports like crazy. Betting like crazy.
Matt Jones
All right, sounds good. Hang on, Jay. All right, so Jane has an 8 guy frat house close to. Close to KS bar. Mario already has. That's the one he wants to go to. All right, we add a couple other people quickly. Mark, go ahead, Mark.
Caller
Yeah. Hey. Yeah, my wife makes custom cookies. So we've got cookies set up for you guys. And then. Yeah, and she'll make them with your faces on them and everything. And then we have a nice backyard. And we're going to be putting some chickens in the backyard soon. So you would have some nice things to look at with the trees. And we also have sweet. That's right. Free eggs and sweet bay magnolias on either side of the deck. So it smells.
Matt Jones
Where in Lexington is this?
Caller
Well, it's Versailles, not Lexington, but it's right, it's right down the street from Lexington.
Matt Jones
All right, all right, hang on. Last one, John. Go ahead, John.
Caller
Yeah, Matt. I'm in Paris, so I'm close to Lexington, too.
Matt Jones
Starting to stretch. This is the outer boundaries.
Caller
I work, I work on a very, I work on a very big horse farm. So you could sit on my front porch and be looking at mares and.
Matt Jones
Foals during the, during the show.
Caller
I've got a back porch and a deck and that's covered in case the, it's raining. It, it'd be a great spot.
Matt Jones
All right.
Caller
I don't want to say the name of the horse farm because I don't want to endorse anything.
Matt Jones
I understand. Hang on right there. All right, so here are the choices. We got Tristan, he's at the Masonic Lodge. We've got Dave, he's the veteran at Jacobson Park. Has, has the, the memorabilia. We got Michael, who wants to put it at his friend's house, who's studying for the bar exam. We got Jane with our eight person frat house. We got Mark, whose wife will make cookies and has chickens in Versailles. And then we have John, who's at a horse farm. And someone just hung up. Who just hung up. Was that Jane?
Shannon The Dude
Yeah, Jane's not on there anymore.
Matt Jones
So I guess the frat guys, maybe one of them called Jane and said, we don't want him there. Okay, forget about the last one. So we're down to five. I want you to think about it during the break. Everybody hang on. We'll eliminate people and we'll figure out where we're going.
Ryan Lemond
Gotcha.
Matt Jones
All right, we'll be right back. KSI. Welcome back, Tech Sports Radio. 859-280-2287. I learned in the break you all were going to pick the frat house. And then she gets, she got off the phone.
Ryan Lemond
I think that was one of the leading candidates because it'd be great content. We make a good show. And then she hung up.
Matt Jones
One person writes, Matt, I once bought you at a charity date auction and we never ended up having the date. Still time now Would be the time you could come to the house.
Ryan Lemond
And now's the perfect time.
Matt Jones
Yeah, but she didn't get through all the phone.
Ryan Lemond
So the contest.
Matt Jones
Why I didn't. That was a long time ago. I was in that Lexington. Remember Lexington used to have those? Yes, they used to have.
Ryan Lemond
I didn't even know you did it.
Matt Jones
I did it one year long. It was a long time ago.
Ryan Lemond
So somebody bought you in the charity date auction, and then you guys didn't.
Matt Jones
Get it back then. It was so long ago. I don't even know that people even knew who I was. Yeah, I was like. I'm talking. This is like, oh, seven. Oh, wait. Something like that. It was that long ago, but missed opportunity. Yeah. Missed connections.
Ryan Lemond
Missed connections.
Matt Jones
Okay. All right, Shannon, real quick, put Laura on. Laura, go ahead. What's your case?
Caller
Well, I have a lot of zillion reasons. One, my grandmother's from Taylor County. Also, my husband and I are UK grads for basketball season ticket holders. We live in a retirement community, and it would be the most expensive excitement we'd had in a long time there.
Matt Jones
So is this in Lexington? Is it in Lexington, though? Yes. Okay, in Beaumont. All right. So in Beaumont. All right, hang on just a second. So there we go. All right, here's what we're gonna do. Everybody has to. Mario's on here, too. First of all, everybody has to eliminate one Masonic large. Jacobson Park. The friend that doesn't know we're coming. The chickens and the cookies. And Versailles. Paris horse farm retirement community. Ryan, be mean and eliminate one.
Ryan Lemond
Mark had me with cookies, but he lost me with chickens. I'm not doing a show with chickens running around. So Mark's gone.
Matt Jones
Mark's out. Wow, that was one of my favorites because of the cookies.
Ryan Lemond
Wild roosters and chickens running around.
Matt Jones
I'm sure. I don't think, anyway, he's gonna say they were. Wow.
Ryan Lemond
May come and, you know.
Matt Jones
All right, well, all right.
Ryan Lemond
Mark's out.
Matt Jones
Mario, which one are you eliminating? I'm going with Blake. The Southland. He's not even in it. Oh, he's not in it. Listen, I'm looking at Ryan's phone is inaccurate. You want to get rid of the Masonic Lodge. Jacobson Park Friends house, horse farm, retirement community. Man, I'm going to go with the. The Masonic Lodge. Masonic. Masonic. All right, Sorry, Tristan. Masonic Lodge is out. Brian, Mario, Shannon, Jacobson Park Friends house, horse farm, retirement community.
Shannon The Dude
Take out. Jacobson Park.
Matt Jones
Jacobson Park. All right, sorry. Now we're down to the friend that does not know we're coming to his house, the retirement community or the horse farm. All right, the one thing I want to avoid here is awkwardness. I think we go to a person's house who does not actively know they want us at the house. That's not going to be good. He's a fan, though. Yeah, but there's a difference between being a fan and you're studying for the bar and we show up at your house. So he's. You can help him, though. You're a lawyer. So he's out. So we're down to a horse farm in Paris or the retirement community. All right, everybody make a vote. Ryan, horse farm in Paris, retirement community.
Ryan Lemond
I'm actually going to vote for the retirement community. I think it'll make great content. And plus, we said the rules were it has to be in Lexington. The horse farms in Paris, I think that eliminates them.
Matt Jones
All right, Shannon, what's your vote?
Shannon The Dude
Retirement community.
Matt Jones
I'm going for the horse farm. All right, so you're bringing it down to me?
Ryan Lemond
Yes, bring it down to.
Shannon The Dude
You can either tie it or make.
Matt Jones
The decision what the goal in this is to go and experience new things. I think it would be nice to go to this retirement community and to. To do the show there. I'm sure it would be exciting for some folks there.
Ryan Lemond
They'll love it.
Matt Jones
And so I'll tell you what, Laura, hang on. Give your information to Shannon and we will go to the retirement community in Beaumont.
Ryan Lemond
They will be so excited that we're bringing a radio show to their retirement community. I think it'll be awesome.
Matt Jones
So there we go. And Mario can talk to everybody while we're there.
Ryan Lemond
Great content.
Matt Jones
So listen. So thank you all very much for playing and we'll keep that. We will do this also in other places.
Ryan Lemond
Okay.
Matt Jones
Later in the week, I would just say to you, guy whose wife would make cookies with our face on it. That was going to be my pick, but it got eliminated first by. By.
Ryan Lemond
Because the chickens. If he would have left that out, I probably would have picked him.
Matt Jones
And I would have considered the frat house with eight people.
Ryan Lemond
I would have to.
Matt Jones
And the guy in Jacobson park did make his house seem pleasant.
Ryan Lemond
He did.
Matt Jones
But we'll end up with Laura at the retirement retirement community. Guess who my mom voted for. Retirement community. Exactly. That's exactly right. So that should be exciting. NBA Finals start tonight while I pull up my draft Kings read. Are you excited about Thunder Pacer?
Ryan Lemond
I'm very excited about it because of the Pacers.
Matt Jones
Now.
Ryan Lemond
I don't know if they can beat OKC in a seven game series. But the fact that these two teams have gotten there kind of takes away from the old, you know, Durant, Westbrook, you know, Paul George, these guys all trying to make these power teams. These guys, you know, just five dudes who go out there just playing ball. Just ballin.
Matt Jones
Well, they're not just five dudes off the street. I mean, they're. They're, they're very good.
Ryan Lemond
They're not like these super powers.
Matt Jones
No, I mean, they're not. Siakam and. And Tyrese Halliburton superstars are both very good.
Ryan Lemond
I mean, most people don't even know who they are.
Matt Jones
Yes. I don't know. I feel like it's gonna be boring, though. I just feel like it's gonna be. First of all, I think the Thunder are gonna crush.
Ryan Lemond
I think the Thunder will probably win the series.
Matt Jones
Thunder are gonna crush them. And I just think it's gonna be boring. I mean, I love Shea, but the games leading up to this second best player on the Thunder, I want to know. In all honesty, I want to know if you can name the second. It's not Chet Holmer.
Ryan Lemond
The Williams.
Matt Jones
What's his first?
Ryan Lemond
Brandon Williams.
Matt Jones
Okay, Shannon, what is the second best player on the Thunders name?
Shannon The Dude
Oh, I don't even know. I couldn't.
Ryan Lemond
What?
Shannon The Dude
I know.
Matt Jones
I'm not even like, making fun of you. I don't think most people would know.
Shannon The Dude
I could tell you more players on the Pacers.
Ryan Lemond
Jalen Williams.
Matt Jones
Jalen Williams. And there are two Jalen Williams on the team.
Shannon The Dude
Oh, yeah.
Ryan Lemond
Should have been easy to remember.
Matt Jones
Can you name the starting lineup for the Thunder? No. Give me a. Give me a guess. I've already given you Jalen Williams. So you have Shea and Jalen Williams and who?
Ryan Lemond
Chad Holgram.
Matt Jones
Okay, now you got. Can you name the other two guys?
Ryan Lemond
Russell Westbrook.
Matt Jones
No. Have you ever heard of Lou Dort?
Ryan Lemond
Lou Dort, because. Yes. He was Shay's roommate for a couple of years when they lived out there.
Matt Jones
Roommate?
Ryan Lemond
Yeah. Before Shea got married, him and Lou Dort were roommates.
Matt Jones
Roommates.
Ryan Lemond
Yes.
Matt Jones
Yes. How do you know these things? Well, you can bet on this at DraftKings. Go to DraftKings. Bet $5 or more and you can do it. It is DraftKings promo code KSR. That is your Draft Kings pick of the day. Look at you, knowing that they room together.
Ryan Lemond
Yeah, they did. Shea bought a house and Dort didn't have any place to live. And she said, just move me with me. And they still to this day ride to each the airport when they go on a road trip.
Matt Jones
Mario just cackling. I know. He's like, he's like the chicken. We'll take a break and be right back. Ksr, TJ Smith, personal injury attorney. Call tj. He'll make him pay.
Shannon The Dude
Now more of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage. Here's Matt Jones.
Matt Jones
We're getting a lot of praise in terms of getting people to like us doing it at the retirement community. By far was the score.
Ryan Lemond
Some major.
Matt Jones
We're getting. So we're getting some major, like brownie points of that's nice you're gonna make. So thank you. So thank you to Laura for, for Jane or whoever it was for calling Laura. Laura for.
Ryan Lemond
In suggesting that great idea, something we haven't done. I think not only will they have fun. I think we'll have a lot of fun.
Matt Jones
Yeah. I don't think we've ever done it. See, that's the goal this summer, is to try to do different things. Right. And, you know, that's. So this will be good. And it will go next Thursday, hopefully, if they, if that's when they can do it.
Ryan Lemond
Okay.
Matt Jones
And, and yeah, that'll be like, you know, we go, we're out and about and then when we play it next time, you can suggest more cities than just Lexington.
Ryan Lemond
So we're doing a retirement home this week. I guess next week we'll do a daycare center with kids.
Matt Jones
No, no retirement home. We're going next week and. No, we're not. I'm not going with children. Somebody who suggests children. You want to get eliminated. Suggest anything with kids and you will be eliminated from. From the contest. One person writes. Matt, I saw a story and since Billy's not here to do the top 10 news this week, what do you think about Tinder now allowing women to say the heights of the people they want to date? I think it's good. We tall guys need to be able to be separated out from everyone else.
Ryan Lemond
What about us short guys?
Matt Jones
You can be a short king if you want, but you, you, you know, so a lady six feet tall. Most women will tell you that they only want to date someone six feet or taller.
Ryan Lemond
Yeah.
Matt Jones
I'm not saying that's good, but it's also reality. And so it's going to hurt the short guys. I don't think there's any doubt about that. It's going to hurt people like you.
Ryan Lemond
Discrimination against short people.
Matt Jones
I understand. Now, how old are you or how do you. I'm Sorry, how tall are you?
Ryan Lemond
Like five eight?
Matt Jones
Shannon, what are you. Are you like five ten?
Shannon The Dude
Five ten. Five eleven somewhere?
Matt Jones
What are you, five hundred and ten? Drew's like six two.
Ryan Lemond
Yeah.
Matt Jones
So this helps me and Drew.
Ryan Lemond
It does.
Matt Jones
Would hurt you guys.
Shannon The Dude
So 10, I think is five nine. Five, 10 seems to be the cutoff. Not six foot. I think it's five.
Matt Jones
I think for most women's, it's. It's. You know, when they, when they say they're looking for a man, they say 6ft tall. They don't say, I'm looking for a man. Five, ten.
Shannon The Dude
Nobody shorter than five, nine, maybe.
Caller
Thanks.
Ryan Lemond
Wow.
Matt Jones
When you were girl. When you were like in the dating pool, did you feel like it hurt you that you were five, eight?
Ryan Lemond
No, I didn't, I didn't do an app. I didn't do the dating services didn't do any of it.
Matt Jones
But you didn't feel intimidated by being a little shorter than.
Ryan Lemond
No, but I am. I can kind of see it because I've never dated someone taller than me and don't want to ever date somebody taller than me.
Matt Jones
Oh, you wouldn't want to date a woman tall?
Ryan Lemond
I think that'd be a little.
Matt Jones
Does a tall woman intimidate? Yes.
Ryan Lemond
I.
Caller
Yes.
Matt Jones
Why?
Ryan Lemond
I. I don't know. I think they could post me up and score on me down in the paint.
Matt Jones
Okay.
Ryan Lemond
You know, I got the outside game, but they take me inside. I'm done.
Matt Jones
So.
Ryan Lemond
Would you date somebody taller than you?
Matt Jones
Would be hard to find somebody taller than me. I mean, there, there's not. There's only a handful.
Shannon The Dude
Well, just say you were shorter though. And, and you did have somebody that was taller.
Matt Jones
I mean, it's. It's hard for me to picture being short because I've been tall.
Shannon The Dude
Oh yeah.
Matt Jones
But if I.
Ryan Lemond
Wait, wasn't there a time where you maybe you and Ella Della Don had a little thing going on?
Matt Jones
Elaine Della Don?
Ryan Lemond
Uh huh.
Matt Jones
I mean, in my mind, in her mind. I don't think she was ever interested. She was to that side of the. But we rode the whole subway together. That's a great. That's a story. I've told that on here.
Ryan Lemond
You've told the story on here.
Matt Jones
It's a great.
Ryan Lemond
One of the best Matt Jones stories ever.
Matt Jones
I think it was one of the best because I was convinced Shannon, she was into me.
Shannon The Dude
She wasn't like, not at all in.
Ryan Lemond
Any way her girlfriend?
Matt Jones
No, no. She. But then she says to me on the subway after we have ridden together from Barclays all the Way. So from Brooklyn all the way to, like, Penn Station, she says to me, would you like to get out and have a drink? Who is ever going to see a superstar player.
Ryan Lemond
Yeah.
Matt Jones
Who's beautiful say that? And I'm like, shannon, yeah. I. I am the most impressive person in the world. And we walk out of the subway and I'm like, elaine Della Don wants to go out. This is going to be like, I'm going to be on the COVID of.
Ryan Lemond
Us Weekly New power Couple.
Matt Jones
And then we walk up the steps and waiting for her there to give a kiss is her girlfriend. Not just her significant other, her girlfriend. And you want to talk about feeling like. And they're like, all right, you ready to go? Like, then I've become like, their.
Ryan Lemond
You're the third wheel now.
Matt Jones
Yes. And I'm. It was so. It was one of the more embarrassing. I don't think she ever knew that. That's what I thought. She probably didn't. She really thought I was just like.
Ryan Lemond
You know, lucky radio guy.
Matt Jones
But I was already texted a friend, like, oh, you're not gonna believe this. And then I realized that I was not even playing for the same team.
Ryan Lemond
No, you're on the opposite team.
Matt Jones
Mark. Go ahead, Mark. Yes, sir.
Caller
I was calling about the intentional walk last night between Texas and Texas Tech.
Matt Jones
So you have to explain. I saw that it was a controversial, but I haven't. I didn't get to watch. I didn't watch the game. So tell me what happened.
Caller
One nothing game. Texas has two runners on. They tried to intentional walk their best. The best batter with a 30 count. They threw it over the plate. She drove it into the outfield.
Matt Jones
Oh, so they were trying to intentionally walk and accidentally threw a strike well after it.
Caller
Close enough to play. She hit it.
Matt Jones
Wow, that's interesting.
Caller
Reminded me of UK for several years when they would intentionally walk her. And I'm like, I'll just please throw it a little closer.
Matt Jones
Yeah, well, I didn't. I didn't see it. I did see. I appreciate the call that Texas Tech had paid a million dollars for one of their players. The pitcher. The pitcher.
Ryan Lemond
The pitcher.
Matt Jones
And she ends up. Did she give up the hit?
Ryan Lemond
Yeah, because she was leading one to nothing. Glad going to lady inning. I don't think they made a pitching change, did they? It had to be her.
Matt Jones
Yeah. Yeah. The women's College World Series has been exciting, but so tried to intentionally walk her and we're not able to do it, you know, because in Major League Baseball now you don't even have to throw the pitch. You just say whatever.
Ryan Lemond
So that needs to be ruled. Being adopted everywhere. But because. But you don't have that situation like you had last night, though. You get a little bit close to the plate some.
Shannon The Dude
No, I like it. I like it where you had to throw four pitches because sometimes you would have a pitcher that would throw a wild pitch.
Matt Jones
Well, I guess that's what they were trying with runners on. They had to be careful there. That they don't. And unlike baseball. Right. In softball, can the woman, like, stand up like they used to do in baseball, hold it out? Are they allowed?
Shannon The Dude
Well, that's what they were doing there. Yeah, that's what they were doing. Like the catcher was standing up, calling for an outside pitch, and she just threw it kind of right down the middle and high and she just screwed it up.
Ryan Lemond
On a 30 count, the caller said was three.
Matt Jones
Interesting. So, see, I didn't.
Shannon The Dude
I didn't say that. She's so good at throwing strikes, you couldn't even try to throw a ball.
Matt Jones
Sounds. That's like the George Washington. Like, she's so good, she can't throw a ball.
Shannon The Dude
Yeah, that's. That's what they were saying on. I was listening to SportsCenter with Scott Van Pelt and they were interviewing. Was it. What's her name? Mendoza? Yeah, yeah, she was. She said that the pitcher is so good at throwing strikes, you couldn't even throw a ball when she was trying to do it intentionally.
Matt Jones
Wow. Like, I cannot tell a lie. I cannot help but throw. I cannot help. I cannot throw a ball. I can't. I just can't do it. All right, Michael, Go ahead. Michael.
Caller
Hey, I just had another football question for y' all. So I am a season football ticket holder and I need. I've been telling my friends this. I. I have a bad omen about this season and I need you all to look me in the eye and say, michael, Kentucky is not going to go to and 10 next year. And I'll hang up and listen.
Matt Jones
Kentucky is not going to go 2 and 10. They're not. They might go 3, but they're not going to go to and. No, they're not. They're not going to and 10. We're going to be Toledo. We're going to. I would not put. If you made me bet on a win total, I'd say four.
Ryan Lemond
Because in the over. Under four and a half right now.
Matt Jones
Because I'd say we. We win one game against someone probably at Vandy, I think we win. But I wouldn't swear to winning more than three, but I will. We're not losing. We're not only winning two, we're going to win three.
Ryan Lemond
We're not going to go two and 10. That will not happen.
Matt Jones
Even if we found a way to lose to Toledo, they still. I think he'd find a way to rally the troops to win at least one more.
Ryan Lemond
I agree. They'll beat somebody. They're not supposed to. Stoops teams always do. They'll beat somebody. They beat Ole Miss last year at Ole Miss. They weren't supposed to win that game. They'll beat somebody this year.
Matt Jones
What's the game? You think we could win that we're not supposed to win? Let's just assume that we should beat Vandy even though I know they're going to be good. And who would it be?
Ryan Lemond
I'll say at Auburn.
Matt Jones
See, that's exactly what I was going to say.
Ryan Lemond
Were you?
Matt Jones
If you were going to say the what's the game that Kentucky wins that you go why did they win that at all?
Ryan Lemond
At all?
Matt Jones
Seems like the one feels like it.
Ryan Lemond
I would like to say at South Carolina but we have trouble down there.
Matt Jones
The last I think the other one is maybe you could squeeze out Florida at home.
Ryan Lemond
Yeah, maybe, maybe, maybe.
Matt Jones

I'm so used to throwing strikes, I couldn't even throw ball. Four. You already threw three balls. Couldn't throw the fourth.
Shannon The Dude
One guy that just called in that was on with us said he was a softball pitching coach and they would have to try to train them to throw a ball.
Matt Jones
Is that right?
Shannon The Dude
Yeah. Like you're so locked in your body just won't allow you to throw a ball.
Matt Jones
That is really amazing problem to have.
Shannon The Dude
Really?
Matt Jones
It really is. All right, we'll take a break. Be right back. Ksr. We don't have to say what it is, but I've learned during the break something from Shannon and Ryan that I had no idea you would be the.
Shannon The Dude
One to teach me Ocean Spray. Just get to learn that brand.
Matt Jones
I had no idea that that was. I mean, if you heard the commercial, I guess those in the podcast won't have heard it. Yeah, but I had no idea. And you all told me.
Ryan Lemond
Now you know.
Matt Jones
Now you know. I. I had no idea. Thank you to Shannon for letting me know about Ocean Spring 859282287 Text Machine is 772-774-5254. One person writes Matt, I hate to hear you all be height supremacist. Funny phrase when it comes to dating, but most women I know think height is very important. It ha. They the man has to be taller than this him.
Ryan Lemond
I. I can see that. Cuz I. Like I said, I don't think I would ever want to date a woman who was taller than me. I can see a woman.
Matt Jones
You would just be intimidated.
Ryan Lemond
Probably, yeah.
Matt Jones
Why?
Ryan Lemond
I don't know.
Matt Jones
You're not really intimidated by much of anything.
Ryan Lemond
I'm a little dude.
Shannon The Dude
What are you talking about? He's intimidated about everything.
Ryan Lemond
Jim Host Jun Tackett that's true.
Matt Jones
But you do like you do. How do I say this? You do, like, believe you're very attractive. Like you have like. Oh, I don't want to say over because that's being mean, but you have a lot of confidence when it comes to your attractiveness, but not when it.
Ryan Lemond
Comes to a tall, beautiful woman. I probably cower like.
Matt Jones
Nope. Then you, like, tap me up.
Ryan Lemond
I tap out.
Matt Jones
That's interesting.
Ryan Lemond
I did date a high school basketball player. She was.
Matt Jones
Hope. You were in high school.
Ryan Lemond
Yes, I was in high school.
Matt Jones
Okay.
Ryan Lemond
She was probably an inch taller than me.
Matt Jones
Okay.
Ryan Lemond
Yeah.
Matt Jones
That's not that much, though.
Ryan Lemond
No.
Matt Jones
Yeah. One person writes, matt, don't act like you would date a woman that's taller than you. I don't believe it. Especially with you being 6 4. I mean, I could. I could. You just don't see. I mean, how many women are taller than 6 4?
Ryan Lemond
Yeah.
Matt Jones
Like. Like, how tall is the tallest woman in the wnba? Like, how tall is, like, Brittany Griner? What is she? She's like six seven, maybe six, eight. I don't know. Like, I feel like even the tall sinners in are shorter than I am. You know the one girl at uk?
Ryan Lemond
Yeah.
Matt Jones
I stood next to her. The. I think she transferred. But the Brazilian girl, Portuguese girl, she was the same height as me.
Ryan Lemond
She was.
Matt Jones
And she was their tallest player.
Ryan Lemond
Yeah, well, Clara Strack is like six. Six, I think at uk, I don't.
Matt Jones
Think she's taller than I.
Ryan Lemond
You don't think she's taller than you also exaggerate a little bit.
Matt Jones
I mean, you know, they all.
Ryan Lemond
Yeah. Tyler Ulis was six foot.
Matt Jones
No. No, he was not. Let's go to Jason. What's up, Jason?
Caller
Hey, Mike Jones. Can you hear me?
Matt Jones
Yes.
Caller
So yesterday, he was talking bad about country music. You know, Bailey Zimmerman and Scotty McQuarrie.
Matt Jones
Yes, country music. Modern country music. Now, I love country music. I don't. Love what? Cla. What is being classified as country music today?
Caller
Yeah, whatever. Listen, I just wanted to. I just wanted to tell you that if you keep doing that, I'm gonna. I'm gonna come up there and I'm gonna plant my boot in your butt till they look like one of Shannon's.
Matt Jones
Let me just say I can hear. I can hear in your voice, and I can't fight anybody, but you're, like, the least scary person I've ever heard. I'm going to plant my boot in your butt. Like, that's. You sound like modern country music. That's why I would not be worried about it. That's what I thought. 2287. Let's go to Sean. What's up, Sean?
Caller
Hey, Matt. Can you hear me?
Matt Jones
Yes.
Caller
A few things. One, I agree with Ryan. I couldn't date a girl taller than me because I feel like I have to see over the girl when I hug them. And if I'm looking eye level with the girl, I can't. I just. I can't do that. Okay, second off, I want to give a shout out to break schools. Dinner in our neck of the woods. In Pineville. My daughter is competing for nationals in Washington D.C. this coming Monday. We're having to leave this weekend and they're competing for National History Day and.
Matt Jones
Okay.
Caller
You know little Frank, Sid.
Matt Jones
So a kid from Frakes is competing at the National History Day competition?
Caller
Yes, sir. And her friend. Yeah, they did a website on Ruby Bridges. Judges ain't really found a whole lot to critique, so they stand a real good chance at winning. I was just wanting to give her a shout out and Big shout out to Franks. And my daughter's name is Mia. So if she wants to win, I'll give you guys a call back and let you know. Well, I like how it went.
Matt Jones
All right, well, thank you very much. Let's go. Mia and what's her friend's name?
Caller
Her friend's name is Ava.
Matt Jones
Mia and Ava from Frank. Sorry, I appreciate the call. Mia and Ava from Frank's. Go get them. It. Did you do History Day when you were a kid?
Ryan Lemond
No, man. My dad was a history teacher.
Matt Jones
But really was that. Is that true, Shannon? His dad was a history teacher. That's interesting. I didn't know that.
Ryan Lemond
Yeah, well, we always went to all the battlefields and the warships. Every vacation we'd make some stop by some fort.
Matt Jones
That sounds awful.
Ryan Lemond
It was.
Matt Jones
Let's go to Daniel. What's up, Daniel?
Caller
Thanks for taking my call, Matt. I watched a video the other day about Kentucky Motor Speedway. It's kind of sad to see a facility like that just bas in ruins going to waste. Have you heard anything about it? You know, someone spent a lot of money to build that facility. I'd love to see it used for anything, really. I'll hang up and listen to your.
Matt Jones
Yeah, it's terrible. So when I was. The Kentucky Motor Speedway was like a really great thing for the state. And you know, it's. It's huge. It's right off i71 there in between Louisville and Cincinnati and Sparta. You know, they. That they were just ruined by the fact they had the first nascar. Well, first they had a hard time getting a race. They got sued or they sued. NASCAR ended up getting a race. And then the first race was just a disaster with the traffic. I mean, the racing was actually pretty cool there, but the traffic was so bad. And then they just were never able to make up for it. And now like they use the parking lots to like host Ford trucks, you know. Have you ever driven by there? It's just full of trucks. But the place, it's. It's sad, it is dull. It's. It was such a nice facility, and now they don't do anything with it. And it's just becoming dilapidated, and it just. It's. It. It stinks. Because that was such a cool thing for the state and it just hasn't.
Ryan Lemond
So they don't even have the truck races there anymore.
Matt Jones
I don't think they have anything there.
Ryan Lemond
Sad.
Matt Jones
They had a concert once, Shannon. Right. Like a music festival or something. And it was, I think, relatively popular, but just don't have anything. And I used to. I went to multiple races. It was a lot of, like, it was a lot of fun. And then NASCAR rearranged their schedule, took the race away from Kentucky and now nothing.
Ryan Lemond
That's sad.
Matt Jones
It is sad. It is sad when you drive by. Really does. It really does. It really stinks. Thank you guys very much for listening. Tomorrow we are at Somerset. What's the name of the place?
Ryan Lemond
The Virginia.
Matt Jones
The Virginia in Somerset. We will see you tomorrow. This is Kentucky Sports Rad.
