Yes, like, and it's gotten much worse. I'm not on it nearly as much.

As I used to be. Like, the text machine is anonymous. I do have your phone number, I guess, but it's anonymous. But people say the nicest things. Their critiques are not mean spirited. They're usually in the benefit of like just offering an other argument. And I get hundreds of them a day and I don't, you know, I read the vast majority. I'm not gonna say I always see every one of them, but I read the majority and I. They are actually a very affirming thing and interesting. And then Twitter, Twitter, I think amazing, like, brings out the worst of humanity. You can take a person that's a pretty good person, put them on Twitter and they'll be calling people just terrible names. And then if I respond and say something nice, they'll usually go, oh, man, you know, I was just kidding. Like, it's just Twitter like a sport. It's like. But firing off human.

Yeah.

[Shannon The Dude]

And like, and there's another human on the receiving end of it. Facebook is bad, but it's mostly just old people who don't know how to do anything else on the computer. And so they're just.

Other people can see it.

Yeah, I mean, like, I don't Facebook, I really now only get on to do the bond that bridge and look at it. And like, those people are really nice. And by the way, if you listen to this show and you're on Facebook, you should follow the Bond that Bridge page. Like, it's a good collection of KSR fans. The ladies of KSR page. There's a men of KSR page, which I think is nice to do. But like, you know, just be careful using that account sometimes. Yeah. Just, you know, it's an unofficial. Yeah, that is not, that's not, that's not official. But then you just get on regular Facebook and people are just like, Sarah over at the Mexican restaurant looked at me funny. Like, people are just very upset.

I guess they got. It's a great impersonation, someone being mad At Sarah. At their local Mexican restaurant.

Well, just where they go to town. Small town. Facebook is great.

Because the things that people like. Like I saw, I guess, in Richmond, Madison Central High School did their senior prank, and I guess they went to Meijer and bought all the eggs in the store and then went and just threw them in the parking lot.

That's an expensive prank.

Well, first of all. Well, first of all, it's not really a prank. It's just destruct.

Just a mess.

A prank is like when you did what I did in college where we locked our fraternity in the fraternity room and left town.

That's a prank. It's good prank.

That's just mean.

There's a little bit of fire issues there.

[Shannon The Dude]

When I was. Well, we didn't think of that at the time. It was quite a prank, by the way. You had to put one on Shannon. I think I've told this before. The actives made the pledges put a prank. You had to. They, like, judged you on whether or not you did it. So, like, I don't do things half. You know, I planned the whole thing.

[Drew Franklin]

You're the mastermind behind the entire.

[Shannon The Dude]

This was an ocean. We got boys founding. I planned it. We took Shannon. We had some people that were, you know, inclined to do handyman stuff.

[Drew Franklin]

Yeah.

[Shannon The Dude]

They took handcuffs and a chain, locked the two doors together. They had to measure it, right.

[Drew Franklin]

Very calculated.

[Shannon The Dude]

Yes. We made the windows to where, like, they were covered so they couldn't see us going. We got grasshopper and mice and let it out on the chapter hall. And crickets. What are you laughing at?

[Billy Rutledge]

We built a concrete wall to where they couldn't walk into the dorm hall.

[Billy Rutledge]

My goodness.

And then we left.

Where'd you go?

[Shannon The Dude]

Well, you were supposed to go away for 24 hours. The point was to, like, bond on the 24 hours. And then they had to come find you. But they didn't find us. And then they were really mad about it. And I'm like, you made us do this. I didn't do it out of pride.

You spot it all yourself.

[Shannon The Dude]

You told us to do this.

[Billy Rutledge]

I didn't know you were such a bad boy in your youth.

[Shannon The Dude]

In hindsight, the fire hazard was something I didn't really think about.

A few I'd like take back.

Yeah, I would never.

Like still street sign or something.

Well, I was going to say if you were.

You have to be careful. Like stop signs. You know you don't want to like, they need to be harmless. I'm not encouraging that.

So when I was at Governor Scholar in Danville at Center College, a street sign had fallen.

Oh, okay.

Yeah.

With that wrench in your hand and.

Tall and I decided to bring it back to the.

You were just cleaning up.

You could. That's one way to look at it.

Yeah.

The people that Governor Scholars didn't see it like that. Tall and I had to go along with two other guys and apologize to the Danville City Council. They stood us up. They stood us up there for public.

[Billy Rutledge]

Shaming, just for trying to clean up the.

[Shannon The Dude]

And the newspaper did a story about it. They were like local or like, you know, out of town. Teens apologize for vagrants.

[Drew Franklin]

It's on there. If you look at it, there's a picture of me and tall and these two other guys. Pre 2. Me too. That was his name. I don't remember the other guy's name. And we had to apologize to the Danville City.

Did you all have like a bad nickname like the Governor Scholar 4 or anything like that? Just go around terrorizing towns?

The nerd words. Yeah, that was. That was that. So. So yeah, you know, that's the vagrancy.

New study says Lexington, Kentucky's morning commute is one of the three deadliest in America. There are more wrecks per capita during the Lexington, Kentucky morning commute than all but two cities in the United States. Only Baltimore and San Jose, California have more per capita wrecks in the morning than Lexington.

[Billy Rutledge]

I think I'm on this route, Winchester Road. I think we're a big part of it, but we have one spot and it. I don't think it's been fatal, but it's. You're coming off New circle on to Winchester Road, and it feels like there should be a merge lane and there's not. Just the other day, I'm at the red light, just hear a loud bang. I don't have to look. It's just like another one. There was another wreck in that one.

Spot where they're there, Max. It is when it comes comes to like, no lights.

[Billy Rutledge]

Buckle up, put your phone down.

No law, no street signs. It's like, come on Winchester Road on your own risk and good luck, sir.

In front of my neighborhood, when I'm turning on to Winchester Road, when I get a green, I have to wait a couple seconds because someone will just barrel through a Red. I don't mean it was yellow. And you're trying to beat it. It could be red for five seconds. I don't know if they don't see it, but they'll cut you in half if you're not paying attention.

[Shannon The Dude]

Leavestown Road, I think, has decided to just go down to a half lane. There was a time it felt like there were six lanes. They claimed to be expanding, but now when I drive through, it's basically a ferry.

[Billy Rutledge]

I haven't lived over there in a while.

[Shannon The Dude]

Where's the ferry to get from one side of New Circle to the other? It's. There's no lanes left anymore.

[Billy Rutledge]

We're running out of roads.

[Shannon The Dude]

So do you. You think that's probably correct about Lexington's morning commute?

[Billy Rutledge]

Probably. I mean, we have a mess. I just named my part of town. I mean, there's others, as you said. I mean Newtown pike, you name it. There's parts of. Of Lexington all over that are horrible traffic.

And give one more also a shout out to all my Gilded Age posse out there.

Oh, my goodness.

Yeah. A lot more.

Amount of people that write me now and say either that they liked the Gilded Age before or that they've started watching it. There's a lot of wives here who've been trying to convince their husbands to do it, and they use me talking about it as the excuse to do it. The amount of Gilded age love that is growing. They had the season finale Sunday. It was one of the highest rated. It was the highest rated in the show's history. They renewed it for a season four. I'm halfway through season two, so I'm still working through Bertha's trying to get her box at the Metropolitan at the Opera. And I don't know how that's going to play out. So no spoiler.

Y. It doesn't matter. And in a world where everything's so serious, I think I just like It. And I have a soft spot for old women that make snide comments about each other. I really enjoy that. I think it goes back to my Aunt Francis and Aunt Boots, Morgan Wallen's grandma.

So you were a big fan of the Golden Girls?

[Shannon The Dude]

Kind of. They used to sit there and smoke and just be like, sheila thinks she's pretty today, but she ain't. And I would just, as a kid just think that was the. Just some of the old women being snide and mean, gossiping about each other. Yeah. And they were all like. You know, they were. It was all like. I heard she was at the coffee shop staring at Frank. I just thought that stuff was great. This is a whole show of that.

It's on my watch list. I need to catch up. I really do want to watch.

Well, I think that's gonna be a lot of fun. I think you're gonna see the debut of the denim uniforms at that game. I think you're gonna see. I think the UK St John's game is gonna just have like. I think you're gonna see a ton of former Patino era players at that game. UK alumni group in Atlanta is probably the best UK alumni group along with New York, in the country. And they'll have it rocking I I high. I think that's going to be an awesome, awesome game. So I think you made the right decision.

Yes, Siri, it was like 23.76, which is nothing, but this is a once in a lifetime. We live in Opelika anyway, so it's not a very long drive to Atlanta, so that's great. So I'm.

Well, I appreciate the call. We're going to be there. I think. I mean, normally that last game before Christmas is not a game that I think is great to go on the road for, but this year it's going to be different being in Atlanta. Rick and say, and you know, they could be. You look at their schedule, they could be number one or two in the country coming into that game. I just think it's good. It's going to be awesome. I think that's. That has the potential to be the environment of the year for Kentucky basketball.

[Billy Rutledge]

Completely agree I was there a couple of years ago in Atlanta for the CBS Classic. The Notre Dame or Notre Dame North Carolina game. That was real close. Dillingham, shepherd, that bunch and that arena was one of the best I've seen of any of these events. We do Champions Classic. That was cbs. Any of these one off games, that place was on fire. I think there's a hunger from the people that used to go the SEC tournament there. Even though Nashville's better, he had that long connection with Atlanta and I think it'll be crazy again this December with Rick.

[Shannon The Dude]

Yeah, if I, if I was sitting at home and I was going, okay, I want to go to one, I want to take one UK basketball trip this year. There's no doubt I would pick that. I would. I just think, you know, they go to New York. I love playing in New York. I'm going to try to go to that game. That's the. Is that the CBS Classic game against. Who do we play this year? We play Ohio State?

No, we played them last year.

Who's North Carolina?

St. John's sorry. Yeah, they replaced UCLA.

Considering New York is Michigan State Champions, Champions, Classics. Right? Yeah. So there's a lot of good choice. Actually. They're all good choices this year. But I think the Atlanta one I'm just, I'm just excited about. I think it's gonna be fun playing against Rick. I do. I think you think he gets. Gets applause. He will, he will.

Also their star player is going to be Bryce Hopkins. I know that's not quite the reunion of a Rick Patino reunion, but just another angle of that game that makes it probably the best on the schedule.

Said they had, quote, done something out of bounds. It makes it sound a lot worse.

Said, you have done something out of bounds.

Makes it sound a lot more scandalous than it was. Did I really get up there and go, we did something out of bounds?

Interesting choice of words.

What the out of bounds activity was. Was never revealed. Oh, wow.

It makes it even worse.

I cannot believe Corey found this. The nine young. The nine young men are studying the governor's scholar program in center as a way to make amends. They got up their nerve and asked Mayor John W.D. bowling to declare a governor's scholars day. That was pretty bold of us.

You're in trouble and then you want your own day.

[Drew Franklin]

Yeah, like, how does that even work?

[Shannon The Dude]

Coming in, taking over the whole town. That's right. We committed vagrancy. And then I was like, name us a day.

Celebrate us.

Came in and plead guilty and said, now name the day after us.

[Shannon The Dude]

And he did. They also learned more about the city. Visited the fire station. I didn't remember that we visited the fire station. The teenagers who will be high school seniors this fall report presented a plaque. I do remember this. The students had to put up with some kidding for one of the commissioners, Commissioner Bunny Davis. His name was Bunny. He got up and said. He said eight of the nine young men were athletes. I think I was one of the eight.

Eight of the nine athletes.

I think I know the one I'm plates. I think it was pre two. Me too. That was not the athlete. And Bunny said, too many athletes graduate. Oh, Lordy. Instead of magna cum laude.

Oh, wow. What a line by Bunny. Oh, Lord.

Buddy had jokes. So. Yeah. I can't believe you found that. Corey. That's pretty amazing.

It says that they. And they urged you to vote and be Interested in your community? Did you walk away interested in your own community?

I do vote and I am interested in my community.

His brother is what? John Tay Jonte may be going to prison for gambling on basketball. He's been kicked out of the league now, Shannon, that's bad enough. Yeah, right?

Michael Porter does an interview and I think found a way to make it worse for his brother. Go ahead and play.

Because everybody has different things that they struggle with that can go from people that struggle with alcohol, people that struggle with drugs. You know, my brother, for example, struggled with gambling. My vice has always come in the form of women. And when I'm far from God and like, I'm not in my word, I'm not praying, I'm not prioritizing him. Like, that seems to be the place that the devil gets me is in the space of women. And I know that's a lot of people in my shoes, you know, I know it's a lot of. A lot of people in my lifestyle or whatever. That's something that comes up a lot. But I've never viewed that as okay. I don't think objectifying women. I don't think being with women all the time and, and sleeping around and doing stuff like that is cool. And I haven't necessarily been doing that. But nevertheless, like, women has always been my vice. Right. I got two younger brothers that are married. I got two other sisters that are married. I'm the only one that's not married. And I feel like God kind of gives you what you're prepared to handle. And so far in my life, like a good woman, like, I don't think I'm ready to handle that because I'm all over the place. Sometimes I'm good and sometimes I'm. I'm not. You know what I mean? And I feel like this, this cycle of being good with God and bad with God has poured over into me not being able to really lock in and be living the Christian walk in that area of my life. My brother Jonte, he never seemed to struggle with that, that vice. You know, I never struggled with the gambling addiction. I never, I never struggle with that vice. Guy gave me a lot of money because maybe he figured I could handle it and not, you know, lose myself in that area and. All right, maybe John, first of all.

What, you know, when Michael Porter was in college, he was known as being like insanely arrogant. Right. His teammates didn't get along with. A lot of those comments are great. Like, he basically is like, yeah, I just, I get too many women.

[Billy Rutledge]

He doesn't womanize.

He does. I don't womanize, but like, I can't keep up with, I can't keep up with all these women. What am I supposed to do?

I'm only human.

What do you want? I only have all this money. Like, what do you want me to do? I just can't. I. There's just too many women. What do you want me to do? My brother, he doesn't have to worry about that. I mean, it's just like, it's like my brother, it's never an issue for him.

Pretty much, yeah. We got to. We got to eat Thanksgiving dinner with the team. They asked me who my favorite player was. I said, steve Mazziello. I don't even think he got.

What do you mean? What do you mean? You got to ask? Got to eat with the team. Did you all, like, have a connection, or were they just impressed you made the Trip?

No, they were just impressed we made the trip. They had heard my dad was on the radio, I think, with Ralph Hacker. I was real little, but they had heard and we stayed at the same hotel.

I remember being in the arena and people had been following the trip. They're like, what have you done in LA so far? No, we drove straight to the Poly Pavilion. Like, this is us getting to la.

Is the game starting right up in la?

No, I'm looking at the map to Anchorage.

[Shannon The Dude]

How do you get there?

[Billy Rutledge]

This goes through North Dakota and then you're up into Canada. Then you go through Edmonton, but it's driving straight through would be 66 hours one way. So if they did it in five days, you're still hauling it to get there.

[Shannon The Dude]

When you think about stopping and sleeping 66 hours, five days, that means they put in some days. I mean, they put in like 12 and a half hour driving days.

[Billy Rutledge]

I'm looking at like, our trip to Seattle would be about half of what they did. And we flew back, they turned around and drove back.

All right, next summer, driving, we have a reason.

Yeah. That would break the bank. Literally the most is Ted Cruz, who has 1.4 million monthly downloads. That is a lot. Who is listening to Ted Cruz?

That's a lot higher than I would think any politician.

Me too. Gavin Newsom, second. 500,000. So Cruz has got him by a million. All right, Dan Crenshaw, that's a representative, has 370,000. He's third. So what if I told you that Andy Beshear has the fourth most of anyone in the country? Shannon, that sounds pretty good, right?

They kicked me off. What was the language I used for the other thing we did? We did something out of bounds. Drew and I did something out of bat. No, we were on there one time and we just, we were talking, you know, you have to sit and talk about the other teams. And I said that Missouri's Kwanzo Martin shouldn't be the coach anymore because I didn't think he was good enough for the new sec. The Missouri AD got mad, called the SEC network and I was banned from hosting. And then the Missouri ID the next year fired Quanzo Martin. But for whatever reason, it sort of stayed in the SEC world that I was kind of Persona non grata. And then I think over time I talked about it. I think it made Fine Bomb a little. Like I don't think he loved that I talked about it and now I think they'd probably let me be on it. But now I just think Paul won't let me be on it. So, you know, I enjoyed it. I had a lot of fun doing it. But that's why.

The Fine bomb show, when I lost my voice and Fein Bomb was going to have me host for the first time in like five years, I thought it was my chance to get to come back. I lost my voice. I drank all this water to try to get my voice back and I ended up with water intoxication which sounds like a made up illness. And I ended up in the hospital. And then I had all that blood pressure problems which led to my anxiety problems. Like all of that comes from stupid ass Paul. Fine Bomb.

It comes from Quanzo Martin because if it wasn't for Quanzo Martin, I wouldn't have felt the need to host. I could have just sat there, not drink all that water.
