Yeah, I guess this is out of the press conference, but I'm seeing it tweeted by Chad Millman who we know and trust. But it wasn't just that they were doing illegal poker. This says they had X ray machines built into the tables to read face down cards. Secret cameras in card trays. And this is.

This is the craziest part. They work contact lenses that could read marks on cards so they could know what cards were because the contacts they were wearing.

I mean, like, literally, if he keeps playing like that, if he keeps playing like that, he'll be the best player we've ever seen. Like Michael Jordan, LeBron, that debate. I'm not putting Wimby above them. He's not. But if he plays like he did last night, if he is, like, Anthony Davis is one of the best defenders in basketball. And he just. That was against Anthony Davis. That wasn't against some chump. That was against Anthony Davis. And that pump fake where he did a reverse slam and barely jumped. Stop it. And then crossover hits, a three and he's fouled. The dude is seven foot four. He scored 40 points.

He only played like 28 minutes. He didn't even play the full game. Forget it. If that's what he is and he doesn't get hurt, he'll be the best player that ever played, period. No one's ever going to be better than that.

And he was like, missed a 15 to 20 from the field, made all his free throws. It was just an insane performance. And the disbelief on the people trying to guard him is my favorite part.

And he's already the best defensive player in the league, so I mean, like, he'll be the best defensive player every game he ever plays. So then you throw in that. Forget it. I mean, I don't expect him to be like that all time, but if he is like that all time, forget it. There'll be nobody, no one can guard that.

Cooper flags the number one pick, and there's clips of him looking at Wimby like, what are you. What am I supposed to do about this?

I mean, just an absolute Freak of.

I mean he was killing Kentucky players left and right on in that. So I mean I. If you weren't watching, you just got to go see those highlights. I mean there were two or three highlights in that game that are as good as any NBA highlight I've ever seen.

Almost ran to bet them to win the championship. Because if that's really what he's going to be, I don't know how you can take down the Spurs.

It's going to be hard for his body to hold together. I mean 7 foot 4, like tall guys like that, they get feet problems. They get shin problems like that. That's the thing. But if he doesn't. That's an unbelievable, unbelievable sight. All right. Did you see that? Students from Trinity High School in Whitesville, Kentucky, which is in Davis County. I didn't know we had another Trinity High School.

It's called Whitesville Trinity.

Whitesville Trinity. I did not know we had two trinities. But they were at the Louvre when the break in occurred. And they were about to walk into the room where they broke in. They were outside the room and according to them, they heard a chainsaw cutting glass and decided. Decided to go the other way.

Smart move, I guess on their part. Get out of the way.

Secondly house Whitesville Trinity got the money to go the Louvre in high school. I didn't know you had that kind of money. Whitesville Trinity. But nevertheless, that's kind of crazy.

You got to. You talk about witnessing history.

Yeah.

I mean we went to the Corvette Museum. I think that was our biggest museum.

We went to Kings Island.

Oh, lucky. But how neat is that? I mean you're. This is like an international story.

And you're just a room over when it all happens.

It turns out they didn't use a hammer to get in. They used a hammer to break the. The glass with the jewels. They used it to get in the window outside. They used a chainsaw to the glass. Have you seen the video of them running around?

I haven't seen video. I've just seen the ladder pictures.

There's like video of them running around inside. They don't look like the most professional group in the world. They're like running around going, hey, hit that, hit that. There you go. I mean, like you can.

My first ever play by play was white at Whitesville Trinity. They really were hosting Drakesboro from Muhlenberg County.

You're full of all kinds of information. This guy didn't know Eric Monday. But you knew all this. Leslie County High School in Eastern Kentucky. Their football coach, I think his name is Brian Hubbard, has been suspended for two games for inappropriate language. They said he used inappropriate language in front of the team and he suspended for two games. Now my. Here was my take on this story when I saw it. I've been to Leslie County. I love the people of Leslie county, but it must have been really inappropriate. I mean, how Inappropriate. Was this language for it to shock the people of Leslie County? You know, I mean, this is. That's Tim Couch country. I don't know. I mean, first of all, do you think you should suspend coaches for cursing in general?

[Drew Franklin]

We would not have any coaches.

There would be no coach.

I'll be suspended.

Okay. All right. So you're good with curse my sixth grade football coach. So do we think. What do we think happened in this room that would lead to not fireable. What is so inappropriate that you're suspended but you're not fireable? I would assume something like sexual would get you fired and cursing probably wouldn't get you suspended. So what's the middle ground?

Something derogatory.

Yeah.

So you think it's like. Yeah, add a player. Derogatory, probably. That's probably a good call.

I think it would have to be pretty specific and maybe even aimed at someone or some people.

But let, let's go beat their bleep in. You know that happens every.

But if the coach made it, like you guys said, personal against a group of guys or individual person, maybe that's where he. Maybe that's where he crossed the line.

I'm going to do this. It's never popular, the text. The only thing the text machine likes less than my opinion on ice wearing mask is when I talk about cussing. I don't understand even to this day why it's okay for coaches to cuss like they do. If your science teacher were to curse at you, they would be fired. If your math teacher were to curse at you, they'd be fired.

The coach can say anything to that player and it's fine. And if the player. And the player could be 18, a senior in high school, say Something back. You're kicked out of school. It's. It just. It's to me, like, I don't understand how we allow that.

Yeah, I know. You're getting in their face. You're trying to squeeze out every little bit energy. Have. It's not like science, where they're in.

You know, they're really trying to get you to reach a level you don't normally reach in your performance. But I understand what you're saying. You don't have to f bomb them all the time. But it's everywhere. Yeah, even young teams, I mean, they hear.

Our other people's criticism was on the right. That's what we do on this show. And so if I don't mean to be disrespectful to you, but as I've said before, when we say stuff, I don't want this show to turn into a political show. And if you. Your general point about there are some things that maybe you don't think we should joke about, I'll take that point. I disagree with you to some extent, but I'm fine with it. Okay. Mr. Yellowwood supposedly down there who's a big booster that runs everything right now because Oliver's a booster run program. Apparently he's still back in freeze. But these next two games against us and all and Arkansas, if he loses one of those games, he very well could be gone. And as far as summer all goes, the stuff I've heard is it he really wants to come to Kentucky but he's not going to wait around. And that's my big worry. And all this stuff.

I don't know what the wait around is. John Sumrall is not going to take another job before his season ends. Right before his regular season ends. So I've heard people say, well, John Sumrall is not going to wait around. He's got to wait around till the end of the year. By the end of the year we'll have decided whether or not Mark Stoops is going to be the coach. Our game against Louis on a Saturday. We'll have an answer by Sunday, Monday at the latest. John Sumrall plays the week potentially in the championship of the American. He's not leaving before. He's not announced he's leaving for the season ends. So waiting around is not a. I'm not worried about waiting around.

And with tennis in Tennessee Tech before that, I mean should know even going into that one at that point you know what you're looking at and some raw with him in a hurry there they could be in the playoff. I mean I think they have the second best odds of the group of five teams. So his season could go real long.

He's a guy that's bigger teams going to come after him and he's a good, good coach but there's not gonna.

Be anything we can do. I mean if he wants to go to Auburn, Florida, Penn State, there's not anything we can do about that.

Now if we were to lose him to Oklahoma State because we didn't, that's a different question. It is but if he takes the Auburn job there wasn't going to be one thing Mitch Barnhart or anybody else could have done. No in my opinion because that just means he wants to be at a place that you win and we everybody.

Let me explain again, because we. We always get new listeners, and I. I love that we get new listeners. So some people not. May not know kind of the policy of the show. I do not think on anything we talk about that our other people's opinions are not equal to, or maybe in a lot of cases, better than ours. However, this is an entertainment show, and in order to do that, we have to keep it entertaining. The moment people start. The moment we start having discussions that are not entertaining, we lose people. I know people don't necessarily want me to talk about this or that issue. They don't necessarily like my opinion about this or that. Some people want us to stick to sports. Some people want us to stick to entertainment. Some people want to. Want me to talk more about politics. I try to balance it the best I can, but once callers get off onto especially politics, the show derails because a guy will say something like he said, and then the guy on the other side wants to say the opposite thing. So that doesn't mean either of those opinions are not worthy. They're just not going to be done here. So I just want you to understand that it's nothing. I mean, it's nothing personal, but, like, once you go down that road, then we just have callers screaming about something that's not the topic. Whereas when we talk about it, I can cut it off when I feel like we're losing the audience, which doesn't happen a lot, but sometimes you do. So that's the reason why Ryan. I cut off calls like the one we just had.

Eating by yourself, very underrated. And I'm a big fan of it.

Me too. I don't even think you have to be 40. I love going to just sit at a bar by myself and just stare at the TV or talk to the stranger next to me. I've made friends I still talk to today because I was just sitting in a hotel lobby and by myself and struck up a conversation at a bar.

I'm good with sitting at the bar and reading the New Yorker. I don't even need to. To. To interact. I. There. And then he and I sat together at the bar and watched the game. I can't do it. I couldn't come just by myself.

You just got to rip the band aid off and do it.

If Mitch does fire Mark, who do you think his guaranteed hire will be? Like, you know, kind of like Mark Pope was last year or. I'm scared it's going to be like a Neil Brown.

If, like, the top. It's like the top tiers are out. You know, I.

It won't be Neil. Neil Brown. I think there's a worry people have with Mitch that, like, he'll hire someone like him, that he'll have to go, like. He'll go look for a certain kind of personality that people like. I've had that worry in the past. The basketball coaching search took that away from me. So, I mean, just think about who his top two choices were. Scott Drew is kind of like Mitch. Kind of quiet, conservative, sort of. That kind of thing. But then Danny Hurley was the exact opposite. I mean, Danny Hurley is essentially Mitch just reverse everything. And he tried to hire him as well. So My view is if he was going to consider hiring Danny Hurley, he did hire John Caliperi. Right. At one point, then I think he ultimately will pick the guy that he thinks is best. And I. So I don't. I don't have that worry. Do you have that worry, Drew?

I think he knows he has to nail this. I mean, it's not a legacy hire, but it will probably be one of the last things he leaves the uk. UK with. And he knows he's got to get approval with the fan base and somebody that has some juice that comes in here. And.

[Matt Jones]

I mean, I think when he leaves, if he leaves next year, the success of Mark Pope and whoever the new football coaches will determine how people look at his tenure. I mean, I don't think Mitch gets credit, Ryan, for John Caliper. I think he should. He definitely should, but I don't think he does because people have this perception that he was forced into it. I don't think that's fair to him, but I think people think. Think that. I think he gets credit for Rich Brooks, but then he also gets the knocks for Joker and Billy Gillespie. So I think this hire, how Mark Pope does and whoever the football coach is will in some ways be Mitch's legacy.

And that's why we were talking earlier. You know, if he sticks around and make this coaching change, he's not immediately going to leave. I think he'll. He'll stick around and try to help usher in that new era of the new coach a little bit.

[Matt Jones]

Now, I think he deserves a lot of credit because there are three basketball programs you could make a strong argument that have had the strongest success they've ever had in his tenure. I mean, baseball.

[Ryan Lemond]

Yeah.

Women's basketball, both Matthew Mitchell and now. And, you know, volleyball. And volleyball. Yeah. And I'll even throw in football. I mean, so Mitch deserves a lot of credit. Does. But I do think he needs to nail this higher, just like he needed to nail the Mark Pope.

If you pat him on a lie detector. He probably wanted Stoops to have a good year so he wouldn't have to do this, because it is what kind of. The last thing you did is kind of how your legacy is going to be. And he probably didn't want to be put in this situation, but it's looking like it's heading straight for it.

Most popular sport in the world is, is soccer, right? Yeah. I would say after that cricket maybe. Cricket. Because you got those countries that are so big like India that, that really like cricket, you know. I don't know. I mean do you consider like track a sport that. Because that's probably, that's probably up there. Almost everybody runs track or does long distance running and then after that, way off you. Well, soccer's number one. You're not going to convince me otherwise.

Yeah, soccer is number one.

Yeah.

Okay. What else? What are the next three?

All right, soccer, cricket, hockey and tennis. And can you believe table tennis is next?

Yeah, I can, I can believe. I'm a little surprised about hockey because like they don't do hockey in South America. They don't do hockey in Africa. I mean hockey. I would, I would throw a challenge flag on hockey, but the others make sense to me.

It has. Last year, you remember it was it Fierceness. That was the really good horse.

Remember that name?

[Matt Jones]

Sierra Leone. You remember that name. And then the Japanese horse Forever Young. Those were the big horses. All five of them are in the Breeders Cup Classic. It's. Some people are saying the best field.

[Ryan Lemond]

Wow.

That they've ever had for a race. And it's next Saturday.

[Ryan Lemond]

Where is the Breeders cup then?

[Matt Jones]

This at Del Mar. It's at Del Mar. But there's a little bit. There's some people upset because one of the horses. I can't remember which one, his owner Drew, put in a horse that has no chance to win. Like none. Just so it would run as fast as it can and set the pace so that he could come from the back. They put in a horse that they think may go off like 150 to 1. Just put it in there and then. And some of the other horse horse owners are calling foul, I would say.

[Drew Franklin]

So you can't run a two man game in horse racing.

[Matt Jones]

They do it all the time. Usually the horse is competitive. This one they say has no chance.

[Drew Franklin]

This is like Ricky Bobby and Cal not there. Shaking bacon. Is this how this is going to.

[Matt Jones]

Look when the Breeders cup starts, something like that. But I just wanted to get you ready because, you know, we like historic moments. They're saying could be the biggest horse race of all time.

Well, I knew nothing about it, so I'm glad you kind of alerted this to at least I can kind of follow it a little bit now.

[Matt Jones]

I don't. I, I mean it's, it's a heck of a risk, heck of a jump that the Giants are making on this move, but I just, I just, I just don't think it's going to work.

It's amazing. He's taking a pay cut because he's going from Nashville of San Francisco. Cost of living is probably twice as much there and taking a pay cut. But I like the majors.
