For he's, he's a good generation. So Kentucky in the Champions Classic in Madison Square Garden were 3 and 1. 3 and 1. We beat Kansas in 20. That was the Anthony Davis team. Crushed them. And we've beaten Michigan State twice. 2015, 2016 season and 2019 season. Then we lost To Duke, the game that Drew mentioned. So we're three and one beaten. Two and oh. Against Michigan State and Madison Square guard.

So we can't jinx it. Just leave it alone right now.

[Drew Franklin]

I don't know what that means.

They're not gonna let you flop. There's video of her Iowa State playing Valpo. You need to go look. If you. I'm sure you've seen it, but if you haven't seen it, you need to go look at the highlight clip. It is two minutes of her abusing.

These girls, doing whatever she wants.

I mean, whatever she wants. She goes through them, she goes around them. She fade aways.

And they're good. Their team is good. Like, she's not like a novelty act. They're good. And she is going to be a star this year. I think she's like a junior. I've seen her before, but she's done something in the off season because now she's just destroying people. Have you seen her play?

Oh, yes. And then you. The. The fact that she's a big woman, you think that's the main reason she's going to be a star?

Yes, she had a good sophomore season, but her junior year, her numbers are incredible.

She's averaging. It's like 28. It's close to 30 points, but she's shooting almost 80% from the field.

And it's not like she know that shooting 80.

It's like 77. Something like it's really high. And it's not like she's just on the. On the block, you know, laying it up. She's got turnarounds, Turnaround.

I mean, they're smooth.

Just like. Like you said, Just type her name in Twitter, YouTube and watch the highlights and it will not let you down.

She's. I mean, a little Yokich esque. I mean, not. Not, you know, Yich is one of the best players of all time, but, like, the footwork is pretty impressive. And I don't know what these. I don't know what those girls at Valpo were supposed to do.

[Ryan Lemond]

Like, stopper.

What were they going to do? They should have Just gotten back on the bus and gone home.

[Shannon Ragland]

That's why that highlight video so entertaining.

I mean, poor Valpo Women's team. Just go home.

She's only a few games in her junior year. Just now the brand is getting out there. She's going to be a star.

It's that. But she might. But like her size differential is even greater than his. So it's even more amazing.

And they love her. She's like homegrown Iowa. I think she was Iowa Miss basketball has all the high school records. So she's just adding on to her career right now. I know they just had Caitlin Clark at the other Iowa. Not going to get in that territory. But she is a huge star in the making.

[Drew Franklin]

She's my new. What do you call it? What was our nickname for the guy from Indiana State? Cream Abdul Jabdul Jabbar. She's my new Cream Abdul Jabbar. Although he's still playing, he's in St. Louis this year. Also. I had to give a shout to Reed Shepherd. Five straight games of at least 14 points a game starting to come on at 21 the other night. Now he tripped a guy.

What do you think about that part?

[Drew Franklin]

You know, guy had it and he was asking for it.

[Shannon Ragland]

He needed to be tripped.

[Drew Franklin]

He needed to be tripped. Sometimes when you get hit in the face, you got to trip him. But Reed, who started off the year very poorly, starting to come on now. I have a question for you, though. You were saying on KS board that there's a lot of Reed negativity. Where do you think our fan base is with Reed right now?

[Shannon Ragland]

I am actually stunned that what seems like a D. I'm not going to act like it's this huge percentage of the fan base, but there are several people who have not forgiven him for wearing the Arkansas gear. I don't know that I've seen it this year, but even last season in rup before the games, they'd scroll NBA players how they're doing. I mean, there would be some boos for Reed shepherd, not a ton. But just the fact that there's any still blows my mind.

[Drew Franklin]

The vast majority of people still very pro.

[Shannon Ragland]

I would hope so. But I will say when we have a thread on KS board and I love KS board. I know y', all, there's a Lot.

[Drew Franklin]

Of negative though on ks. I mean, when I read, like it's.

[Shannon Ragland]

A message board, you know, there's part.

[Drew Franklin]

Of me, it's like, come on. Like this is K. Where do you think this came from? And they're like, so I get it.

[Shannon Ragland]

But I'm just shocked in general that there are people that. I don't think they'll ever forgive him. I didn't think that would be the case. I thought it was dumb to do it. I didn't even care in the moment. I just thought it was bad decision making.

[Drew Franklin]

Yeah.

[Shannon Ragland]

Now we're almost a year later and people have not gotten over that.

[Drew Franklin]

Well, it clearly represents some faction of the fan base. Are you. Is anyone on this show still perturbed at Reed Shepherd?

[Ryan Lemond]

Not even a little bit.

[Billy Reed]

No. I've thought about it twice since it happened and we brought it up twice on this show. That's when I thought about was dumb.

[Shannon Ragland]

But I root for him, try to watch every game I can.

[Drew Franklin]

I find myself pulling for him. So I don't have any. I mean he's from the mountains. Right. So I can't help but be.

[Ryan Lemond]

He's 13th region man. He is die hard Kentucky through and through.

[Shannon Ragland]

It was a bad PR move.

[Drew Franklin]

It was a bad. That was really dumb. But. But beyond that, I can't now. If he shows up, if, if he does it again, if he doubles down at this point, does it again.

[Billy Reed]

If you're going to get the hate, you might as well just double down and do it again.

[Drew Franklin]

You want him to wear an Arkansas shirt every year at the game.

[Billy Reed]

What's the difference? I mean people are already hating a. Because he did it a year ago.

[Drew Franklin]

People get over stuff though. Clearly.

Yeah. A year later they haven't gotten over it.

But if they just keep doubling down.

Well, the replies to like there's a clip of him looking like Grayson Allen which will defend the guy hit him in the face first. But the plies are like this is a bad look for Fayetteville, Arkansas, Arkansas behavior. This is black eye for the hogs like that. Those are the comments to it.

[Drew Franklin]

I don't think that's the norm though. I do think, I do think that that in general KS board is. Is generally pretty positive place. But when you get on those show threads, there's that one dude, bagel face McCoy or we've. We've had, we've had Bagel problems Some of those people.

[Shannon Ragland]

I think he's on his 20th account.

Well, that's what I called in to talk about, Matt. And my. My ask anything question to you. It got two things. As we went to the Edmonton Hurricanes game last Saturday and my future father in law went to go drop off canned goods at the Hurricanes little. They had a can drive and it's right outside the stadium. Well, guess who was out there. Old Jacob Slavin. And so we were taking pictures, but we stood around there for about 10 or 15 minutes. Nobody had any clue who this guy was really. And that's my qu. Oh, it was incredible, man. I was like, this guy's an Olympian. He's the best player for the. So my question would be, are hockey players the most people, the most unrecognizable people on TV who are millionaires out in public?

[Drew Franklin]

Yeah, I mean, I would say so. I would think so. I mean, I'm. I'm a huge Hurricanes fan and I could probably recognize by face Aho, Vetch, Nikov and Slaving and that's it. I think maybe Jarvis, but like most of the guys I wouldn't recognize. So you're probably right. I mean, those dudes make a lot of money. But, you know, I think about the NFL. I appreciate the call. I mean, a lot of those NFL.

Guys wear a helmet.

One of the things I always say to people, and I have to remind this myself, this show is for the general casual fan and the hardcore fan forgets those people exist. But there are more of those people than there are the hardcore fans.

There are more people who and it's interesting to me when a story breaks into the Casuals. Right. So the get your money Garrett was fascinating because the Casuals knew about it. Yeah.

But that took getting front page cbs and I mean that was a national.

Well, and Garrett calling this show. So yeah, I think the Casuals, and I say Casual is a positive because I think these are the vast majority of our fans. They would know Cutter Boli and Zach Calzada. And that's probably. And she is. And that's probably it.

Yeah, we hit this last year and you had to turn you lose crease. So then you're down to Travis Perry. I still like Aberdeen, and, you know, Jasper's got a long way to go.

Seven, eight assists Friday night. So they still have the bodies. And really, tonight, Aberdeen, their Michigan State's point guard, leads the nation in assists. He's really good. He averages almost 10 assists a game. It'd be one where I think Aberdeen would be playing a lot anyway for defense with this matchup.

[Drew Franklin]

Yeah, I mean, this might be a game where Jalen Lowe would have been the least helpful because I think he would get exposed a little on defense. And so physical. And the physicality. So this is actually. I think you'll see the need for low more when we play St. John's or when we play maybe even North Carolina. This is a game where this probably would have been an Aberdeen game anyway.

[Ryan Lemond]

He's definitely more valuable as a defender, and I can lock down guy in the perimeter, but he's a better off guard. Off the ball guard. You know, he's got a.

[Drew Franklin]

You think so?

It just seems like this is what I've seen him. He's a good point guard, but he's better off the ball.

The problem with him playing off the guard is you can't play him away and Chandler all at the same time.
