Welcome back Kenny Sports Radio 859-280-2287 text machine is 772-774-5254 here with Drew and Shannon. Pregame show is at 4:30 today from KS Bar. If you're going to the game, head on out that way. I will have tickets to give away during that show including Drew, some good ones from a couple of our friends that I think there'll be a lot of. I think tickets will be widely available tonight. Would you agree with that?
E
I expect that. I don't know if BBN is intentionally sending a message tonight but I know people aren't the most enthusiastic about the team right now.
C
I could see. Well, I know without even asking Shannon, I've been given a bunch of tickets to give away. I would guess we'll get more. So I just think there'll be tickets available. I'm sitting here looking at NC Central, our opponent. Here's who they've played this year. NC State, Virginia, Appalachian State. Now let's hear some schools. Have you ever heard of Bluefield State?
F
I was just looking this school up. Right.
C
Where is Bluefield State?
F
It is in Bluefield, West Virginia.
C
Okay. I didn't know there was a blue field. West Virginia. Where is that? Obviously it's in West Virginia. What part of West Virginia?
F
No idea.
C
Do you ever heard of Bluefield State?
E
I mean only when I looked up NC Central schedule but didn't do much thorough research beyond that.
C
Gage Lattimore with 12 for 17 against Bluefield State, then North Carolina and then Tacoa Falls. T O C, C O A Falls. Where's that?
F
Let's look.
E
Georgia, Somewhere in Georgia.
C
Are you guessing or you know, It's Taco Falls, Georgia.
F
He's got it.
C
Look at, look at Drew. I did my research. Taco Falls. Never heard of that school. Then Dayton, usc, Upstate, that South Carolina, the aforementioned Carolina U, James Madison and.
F
NCA and T. So we shouldn't have any problems tonight.
C
I'm going to assume they played good teams though. They've played NC State, Virginia and North Carolina. But I think they got beat by a lot of in all those. Let's talk about a couple other things, Drew. UK volleyball makes it to the sweet 16, they get a little bit of a break. Cal Poly upset, I believe it was USC to make it to the sweet 16. So they are. They were actually a 12 seed. So we are in the sweet 16 playing a 12 seed. I actually watched some of this match where they pulled the upset up and upset off and won. They are short, which is not something you see in a volleyball team a lot. They're short, but they're. They're scrappy. The Cal Poly group, the usc had like two women who could jump to the moon. And if you watched it, you would have thought there's no way this other team is going to win. But then they did. Kentucky plays them in the Sweet 16. 3:30 on Thursday. Kind of a weird time. We're going to show the game at the bar. It's. It's on national television. But Kentucky with a really good chance, if they can get it, to get to the Elite Eight.
E
Yeah. Tickets for that just went on sale at like 10am this morning. For anyone trying to go. I know Craig Skinner tried to build them up like a great opponent and I'm sure they are to get to this point. But that upset sure did help Kentucky's path and getting there. And we're two wins away from moving on to Final Four weekend. Just gotta handle business at home. These next two.
C
I'm not saying they can't win, Shannon, because. But I actually did research for this game. I watched that game.
F
Yeah.
C
And they are a lot shorter than we are, but they are a scrappy group. What do you call it? You. Did you get the digs?
F
Digging the setters and the spikers?
C
They are really good at digging. Like, because the USC girls could literally jump. I don't know if people realize they would touch the ceiling.
F
Yeah, I can watch that.
C
And. But still, they would dig it. They would just keep going. And they were also. This is my. Did Craig Skinner say this Drew there. I think the thing Cal Poly's the best at is blocking. They block like they would get. They. They scored so many points just blocking it directly into the ground. That's my. That's. You know, I'm good at this volume.
E
Yeah. I was gonna say I don't. I don't need. Craig Skinner scouting report. We heard you talk about the earlier matchups in the tournament.
C
Blocking. And that's who we played. Although they, they. Their color scheme is like great. You know when you mix all the colors together and it turns into like a dark green. You know what I'm talking about? That's their color scheme. I don't like it. But they play Thursday at 3:30 and really good chance drew for the UK volleyball team to make the Final Four.
E
And is Craig Skinner going to get even higher up? He's done the fifth, third building. Well, they tweeted an airplane emoji this morning. Like.
C
You think they'll sell that game out Thursday? I mean, it's at a weird time having to play at 3:30.
E
The time obviously hurts them, but I still think they can. The. The few that I've been to this year. I mean, that place was insane just for like a regular season game. And I don't think that excitement will go away. People will find a way to get there for postseason match even if it is earlier in the afternoon. The good thing is.
F
I will say the good thing is the two teams they've lost to in the regular season are on the other side of the bracket. Pittsburgh and Nebraska.
C
Yes, they are. Which you could get all the. And then I think the second game is. Is what? Arizona State, Creighton. The other. That's the other game. So I have not seen them play. I can't do the research on Arizona State and Crate. Virginia Tech, you know they hired James Franklin, their coach. Before that, Shannon, was a guy named Brent Fry. Probably don't know that guy, but his name was Brent Fry. They fired Brent Fry earlier this year. Just fired him. You're out of here. James Franklin is now bringing him back as the defensive coordinator.
F
The AD's got to be loving this.
C
Right after he was the head coach earlier in the year. I. This. This would be like Will Stein hiring Mark Stoops as his defensive coordinator.
E
Right.
C
I mean, which seems utterly ludicrous, but it's going to happen at Virginia Tech. If you were Brent Fry, could you go from sitting in the coach's chair to the next week moving down and being the defensive coordinator? Do you think you could. Do you think you could suppress the ego to do that?
F
No. No. I'd be taking my buyout and going on vacation for a couple of years and coming back and finding a head coach job somewhere instead of coming back to where the place just fired me two months ago. This happened in September.
C
I know. And he is now coming back as a defensive coordinator. Do you think you could do that, Drew?
E
It's tough.
I just. I'm thinking of how awkward that is when he's just walking down the hallways knowing that all the people you're passing just wanted you gone.
C
Like they didn't look right in the eye. Yeah. To kind of look down and you.
E
Like accidentally walk to the head coach's office like, oh, that's not me. I'm on down here in this smaller one. But also, you know, I don't know his family situation, but say he's got a nice house, friends and family there, he's established. Why not go take more money from the school you were just with?
F
Knows his way.
C
So would you support. Would you support Mark Stoops as Will Stein's defensive coordinator? He hasn't hired one yet. I don't think this is going to happen. But could you support it?
F
I think so, Yeah. I think I would be okay with that. Mark Stoops is. He's always been really a defensive minded head coach. Put him on the defensive coordinator position.
C
But he would be making more money than the head coach, just for the record.
E
Well, that's not getting paid that 6.8.
C
He literally would be making more money. The Will style.
F
Well, that sounds like a Will Stein problem to me. I don't care who makes what.
C
Okay, Drew, would you support Mark, the defensive coordinator, if it was just him.
E
On the sideline calling the defense? Yes. But so much of this is recruiting now, and I think that was part of the nil. And I think Stoops, that was part of his problem as he wasn't liking this new era. So, no, I wouldn't want old, but.
C
Maybe he didn't have the pressure to do that. That's true.
E
Right.
C
If he were, if he were willing.
E
To embrace NIL a little better and be excited about it, maybe, but it'd just be too awkward.
C
I feel like it would be really awkward, but it would be kind of fun. Now there, there was a report out of Knoxville yesterday that they have three candidates for their defensive coordinator and one of them was Mark Stoops. How would you feel if he ended up in orange next year?
F
So if Stoops takes that, does he have to surrender any of that buyout?
C
I think he has to. Whatever he was going to, he gets.
E
Still, it says no mitigation moving forward. Like their deal is their deal.
C
Unbelievable. Mitch did not even get the mitig.
E
No, Stoops is getting paid no matter.
F
What, so no compete. So in other words, I would double dip. Absolutely.
C
I'm getting a double dip. He should, right?
F
Of course.
C
I mean, Mitch. How does Mitch not even get the mitigation in the contract?
Like how every contract has that. If you go work somewhere else and they, and you make that, like, how did he not even get that in there?
E
Drew, I don't Know, it's impressive work by the.
C
Wouldn't you love to play poker with Mitch Barnhart?
F
Yeah, I'd love to be his coach.
C
He'd be like, here you go, I have a pair of twos, but I'm all in. Just go ahead. I just want you to know in all, for all fairness, I want to lie to you.
F
I've been asked 19 different times about this contract. It was a fair contract.
C
I told you, I have a pair of twos. You want me to show you?
Well, all right. But what if he's in. What if he's in Knoxville?
E
I can't imagine that. Like, I don't know what's between Stoop's ears, but what he's getting paid and you know, having been a head coach for as long as he was and what he would went through, I'm putting my feet up for a few years and not going back to work.
F
He. Yeah, he's a Kentuckian. He's already. He said that two weeks ago. He's a Kentuckian now. He's not going to Tennessee.
E
And I thought he didn't even like hypo. Now all of a sudden he's going to be on a. Would entertain that. I can't see that happening.
C
Yeah.
E
If anything is going to do the Kirby route and just sit there and collect money from Kirby's crew for a few years as a analyst or some made up position like Saban did for many years in Alabama.
C
Yeah. Well, if he shows up in orange, would you, by the way, would you boo him like next year?
E
You're wearing orange, you're getting booed. I don't care who you are.
F
Yeah, for sure. But I'm definitely double dipping though. Like I am 100% doing that. I think he will somewhere.
C
He's, he's. I don't know if he'll do it this year, but he will take a job soon. He, he'll do something. I can't imagine he does it. Who's up next?
F
Don.
C
Don. Go ahead, Don.
G
Hey, good morning, guys.
C
Good morning.
G
First time caller here. What's up, Big Don?
Good luck on the New Orleans Bowl, Matt.
C
I'm gonna need it.
G
Bluefield, West Virginia is down in the southern tip.
Bluefield and Princeton are right next together.
C
Okay.
G
I'm a 65 year UK basketball fan and I'm as frustrated as anybody. You're talking about players, cars. I saw Sam Bowie once picking somebody up outside of Lexington Catholic and he was in some old beater thing, looked very uncomfortable, all bent over and everything, but he was smiling and waved to me.
Matt, I've got a personal thing for you. I was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer last May 30th. And I'm not telling you what to do, but I'm telling you what I did. I reached out to well over a hundred people, said, I am emboldened in asking for prayers. And, Matt, it made a huge difference in my recovery and my life. And.
It'S just a thought for.
C
Well, I appreciate it.
G
You all have a wonderful day.
C
Yeah. Thank you very much.
G
Thank you very much.
C
You and your. And your continued battles on that. And we have had.
Listen, we've had a ton of people reach out and talk about that. They've prayed for, for, for my dad. And I would ask that, you know, if that's what you do, to continue to do that. You know, we have, as a family, we have a tough road ahead, but we, you know, Larry is.
Larry's the best human being I've. I've ever known. He's the kindest person that.
I've ever. I've ever known. And it's not even close. And I, I just. It's. It's beautiful how many people. What's beautiful to me about this show when it comes to my parents and specifically him in this case, is you all don't even know them, and yet people have treated this and them as if they're a part of your family. And that really, you don't know how much that that means to me. And last week was an extremely difficult week for me with. With what was happening in our world here, happening at the same time as that was happening then, trying to figure out how to balance it, but also figure out what I needed to say and didn't say. And it was just. It was a lot. And just know even if I don't respond, every prayer, every thought that comes, I appreciate it and they appreciate it. And Larry, you know, he doesn't even necessarily realize this world. He's not even on the Internet. But I know he can feel the way you all reach out. And I just, I do want to thank you. We're going to take a break. We'll be right back.

Shannon these candles, do they smell?
C
Yeah, I like candles. Well, I hope they smell like the gummies because like the gummies smell good. There's certain things I don't want it to smell like.
F
I wanted to smell like hemp.
C
Yeah, I don't. I don't think that would be good. But if it's like the the berry flavored gummies, I'd like it.
E
That's good.
C
But they also have the infused seltzers and more. Go to cornbreadhemp.com a great holiday gift. The promo code is cheer. It's cornbread hemp. This is the Good Life. 859-280-2287. We talked, Drew, earlier last week about the changes that the dude Duffy wanted to make to airports. Remember, he said he want everybody to dress up better if we went to the airport, which I think all three of us were. No's on, right?
F
That's right.
C
All right, so now he has four new ideas. They're gonna put a billion dollars into airport, and they're gonna add these four things. All right, so I'm gonna get you guys. Do you think these are good ideas? They're going to be $200 million in each of these things. Number one, security lines that are for families only to, like, get your kids through. Yes or no, Drew?
E
I'm okay with that because I seem to always get behind the family that isn't prepared to go through the line, and I'm just stuck watching them try to hold their toddler while fold up a suitcase and all that. So, yeah, let them have their own area so we can keep this moving.
F
All right, Shannon, I'm good with this too. You got families with strollers. Does the baby stay in the stroller? Does it come out of the stroller? Do we. You know, it's like a million they're trying to figure out. Meanwhile, I'm just trying to get by with my single suitcase. I am all for this.
C
Yeah, you. Initially, when I first saw it, I was like, ah, no, because then you're just giving people with families more advantage. But then I thought about you all. I hate being stuck behind. Kids are like, hey, put up your snot. Like, it's just too much.
F
Some families are big families. We're just assuming you're a family of four. What if you're a family of eight?
C
Yes. And you got the kids running around and smacking each other in the face and then that. Like, so. Yes, I'm actually. I'm good with this. Second, playgrounds in the airports.
F
Oh, well, I mean, if you don't want kids bothering you, you can hopefully put them all over there on the slides and the monkey bars.
C
So again, you're thinking like me at first. I'm like, why am I wasting my money to give the playground? But you know what? If it'll keep them from running around where I'm sitting, then, Drew, I'm actually pro playground.
E
I'm pro playground, but also think we should include adult activities. We just need more entertainment in airports. Like, where's my. Where's my golf simulator? If I'm for three hours, we all need something to do.
C
Okay, you're gonna Give them a golf sim.
E
I can't just sit at Chili's 2 for 3 hours drinking $18 beers during my layover. I need some activities.
C
All right, what about the next one is more nursing route, like rooms, places I guess you can go. Women can nurse their children again in the way that they do.
F
We're getting your kids out of the way. I don't see this.
C
A lot of these seem to just be about getting children away.
F
Exactly. Like, if they're your kids, it's one thing, but if it's somebody else's kids out of the way, it's like when.
C
They used to have the smoking rooms. They're like, all right, y' all just go in there. This is kind of the same thing. Just all right, Drew, put all the kids over there, hurt them.
E
And it's just now hitting me. I'm looking this from my perspective as a. As a single or a kidless guy. I need to. Actually, I'm probably going to be using these playgrounds. I'm looking at this the wrong way.
C
I'm going to be tripping.
E
All these things. I want all of them. Yeah. I need all the advantages.
C
And then last, they are talking about putting workout workout bars, pull up bars and places to do push ups and jogging in place. You could just exercise in the airport. Well, not pull up bars, but I.
F
Could jog in place. Look like a crazy person over here. Why is this guy jockey in place? Get my steps in, man. I'm for that too, though, you know, Especially if you get a long layover.
C
I'm against that. I don't want. I don't want people being all stinky on the planes. Drew, like, if you're out there out pulling and sweating, I mean, where are you. Where you go? Where are you going to shower? You just gonna be stinky getting on the airplane?
F
$200 million. We can't find like, enough money for showers.
C
Then you're talking public nudity in these places. Shannon.
Are you for the gyms for adults?
E
Absolutely. Not at golf simulators, the as far as I want to physical activity, because you're right. Somebody will be trying to show off. Some single guy will be trying to work out next to the woman at the gate. And then he's not going to shower and he's going to end up sitting by me, and I don't want to be a part of that.
C
Yeah, I don't know who are people that just want to go to the airport and do pull ups? Who are those people sitting at chili's.
F
To drinking $18 beers.
Yeah.
C
Airplanes are gross enough without people being sweaty and everything in them. So I'm. I'm for three of those four. I'm out on the doing pull ups. Who's next?
F
David.
C
David. Go ahead. David.
G
Yeah, Good morning. I've had numerous friends call me and ask me about a picture floating around about Jack Pilgrim and Drew Deaner about Kentucky fans booing. And I need to set the record straight. That picture that was taken while I'm in the picture that picture was taken was the North Carolina game. And we were upset with pretty boy Joe Lindsay after he made a call against Ortega away after he stole the ball at half court and would have gone down for an uncontested two. So it was.
C
Wait a minute. You're saying there's a picture of you? I'm not. I wasn't fault there's a picture. Well, we don't know who you are, so you got to remember that there's a picture of you. There's a picture of you booing. That's being used as an example of fans booing. But you're saying you weren't booing the players, you were booing a referee. The game before we were.
G
It was a North Carolina game. We were booing pretty boy Joe Lindsay after he made a call against Old way.
Well, that's what I call him. I'm sorry, but okay.
C
All right.
G
We would have got two points out of that, but we didn't. And I just want to set the record straight up. I wouldn't boo Kentucky fans and. And I wouldn't boo the Kentucky team. You take the good with the bad and you go forward. That's okay.
C
All right, Fair enough. Appreciate the call. I'm not sure the picture he's talking about, but that's a fair point. Sometimes, you know, when you use a picture with the story, you might say picture of fans booing and drew. It could be a different scenario than the game where they were booing the players.
E
Yeah, I don't know the exact one he's talking about because there were several from Gonzaga and then I guess he's one from the game before, but also don't know his name. But I'm glad we cleared that up and that moving forward.
C
I did wonder, Shannon, about the videos of people booing during the Gonzaga game. Yeah, there was a lot of people booing, but it would be like individuals that were zeroed in on and I did wonder, like they're gonna get a lot of people going, hey, man, were you booing at the game, I did wonder what that was gonna look like. Yes.
F
Yeah, it was. Of course I was. If you weren't in that arena, you weren't booing them then.
C
Do you feel sorry for the people that become memes, the fans? Like, when they're sad about something during a game or a girl crying or a guy? Like, do you ever feel sorry for those people? Like, they don't know that's gonna be them.
F
I don't feel bad for them. It's kind of funny.
C
You never feel bad, but, like, think about the ones that have become famous. Like the girl that was playing the flute during the tournament.
Do you ever feel sorry for those people?
F
You're crying over a game. I mean, really, let's get to the root of it. You're crying because your team lost and you're playing a flute and you're crying. No, I don't feel bad for that person. Play your flute.
C
Just play your flute. Shut up.
F
Yeah.
C
All right.

Welcome back Kentucky Sports Radio. 859-280-2287. Text machine is 772-774-5254. By the way, game seven o' clock tonight. Pregame shows at 4:30. Be at KS Bar. Come say hello to everybody. Get a pregame meal before this game that hopefully will not be competitive. We will see. One person writes, matt Shannon is the best. He doesn't care about being politically correct. He just says what he thinks. That's true. He's right. Like, that's good for shit. But, like, that's. That's why Shannon has to be in the role he is. If Shannon was the only host, this show would be canceled. But by me, but by being in the role as the guy chipping in, then I think that works. If he was just. If it was three straight hours of Shannon talking, this show would have been canceled years ago.
F
That's right. You offset my personality.
C
I do. And I make sure. And I know, like, okay, I know when to ask Shannon things. Drew. There are times I'm like, I think I know what he'll say.
F
Know the answer.
C
You know, actually have a better idea of what Shannon is going to say on any topic than almost anyone else. Like, Ryan has become the wild card in his old age. Drew. Like, we don't know what he's gonna say.
F
Ryan doesn't know what he's gonna say next.
C
Yeah, sometimes mid sentence.
F
That'S the scary part when he doesn't even know what's coming come next.
C
So like. Like Drew, like today when you're there and I'm not. Like, I usually I can see when his brain is about to do something stupid, but when I can't seem. I'm relying on you to get him to shut up before he starts doing something like that.
E
And it's a tough job when you're talking to him and setting him up. And I, you know, I don't want to butt in and be like, no, no, no, stop, stop. I see in his eyes. So it's like a slippery slope here. I don't know when to intervene and when not to.
C
I'm going to give you permission to just jump in and go, no, no, don't let him. I see it because you and I know the look he gets, a look in his eyes like I'm gonna say something funny. And that's usually a bad sign, especially.
E
When he gets that grin and it's gonna be something perverted or, you know, something we know he doesn't need to say. That's his most obvious.
C
He didn't. He. He didn't used to be like that, did he? On the. On that stuff?
F
He's getting worse with his old age.
C
He is.
F
You hit that point to where you just don't care in like, I'm just gonna say it. And I don't know if when they.
C
Put in the hair plugs, they also added some. Something in there.
F
No filter. They took his filter out.
C
Maybe that's. Maybe that's what it was one person writes about. What would each of you get Grade Will Stein on his first week as Kentucky football coach? That's right. He's only been the coach for a week. It feels like a lot longer, but it's been one week. Considering the press conference and his early hirings and the fact he's had to, you know, still do his job at Oregon. Drew, what kind of grade would you give Will Stein for week one?
E
You know, other than the press conference, it's really hard to grade him on much. He's added an offensive coordinator. We have no idea how that got to recruit.
C
Got a big time recruiter.
E
They did hold the signing class together. You got Darby the receiver? Yeah, I'll give him an A minus. There's only so much you can do right now. And in the little things he's done, I have no reason to complain about any of it.
C
Shannon?
F
Yeah, he got his OC quickly, so that's. That's a good positive. He won the press conference. But I feel like it's hard to lose your introductory press conference.
C
People have done it, though. I mean, like, Liam Cohen lost his dude.
F
Yeah. So.
C
But it is hard. Yeah.
F
I mean, a weekend. I would say in a. I don't. I don't know how you give them any worse than an A. Yeah, I give him.
C
I give him an A minus. I thought the press conference was good. Not necessarily perfect, but good. I think that commitment was big. Got staff going. I think his mom gets an A for the whole sissy cakes thing.
E
His grade is bumped up for me because of his mom and sissy cakes and that connection to the fan base that's added to the excitement, even though it's there.
C
By the way, you can't get one of those cakes.
F
They're probably back order.
C
I mean, they are like, they're. They're everywhere that. She was actually going to bring us some today, but I wasn't. I wasn't there. But like, that's been. You talk about. You talk about bumping up your business. Your son gets hired, Shannon. And then your cake business takes off along with it. Right?
F
Great for business. I mean, they. I don't know that they can make cakes quick enough for the demand.
C
Yeah. Cause there's. Yeah. I mean, there's just two. Well, they may have staff, I don't know. But the two. Two. Two main ones. So who's up first?
F
Tori.
C
Tori. Go ahead, Tori.
G
Hey, Matt. So I know how to read, and I'm not colorblind. I think I could probably be your spotter.
C
Yeah, but you have to have done it before because it's like it's all about calling. They're right. The plays and the sets and. And the numbers. And like, I do think there's like a repetition to it. I think there needs to be. Since I have no experience. I think I need someone with experience.
G
I think the difference between someone that's done it for their entire life and me is probably like a week.
C
Wow. So you're not Drew. Doesn't sound like Tori's respecting the job of spotter very much, is he?
E
Yeah. What did a spotter do to your. In your life at some point? Sounds like you just have anger against spotters.
C
Just doesn't believe that a spotter can. I feel like, Shannon, there's a little more to it than that.
F
There's gotta be. Yeah. I mean, you gotta.
C
Although I guess they could say this. I guess they could say the same thing about me as a play. By play host. I have such little.
F
Let's think about Western Kentucky. I mean think about that. What if you went to Western Kentucky which is like a broadcast journalism school.
C
Yeah.
F
And you don't get the opportunity to call the game. But Matt Jones does, who has never done this before in his life.
C
But I have done radio. Right. So like.
G
Yeah.
C
You know that I appreciate the call. I have not done the mechanics of calling a football game, which is almost. Which is certainly a unique skill. But I have done the mechanics of getting in out of breaks, trying to keep a conversation flowing. Trying to keep it interesting. Like it's not like it's going to be dead air.
Right.
F
Yeah.
C
Come on. Encourage me.
F
You got this. You just need. You just need yourself a good spotter. And you need to know your difference.
C
Between success and failure, Drew, is whether or not I have a good spot.
F
You just blame it on the spotter if it sucks.
C
Exactly. The spotter screwed it up. He didn't spot. That's right.
E
And let that be known mid game. Like second quarter. Be like, I've got to get a better spotter if we're going to save this broadcast. Can any of you.
C
Am I going to do like firing Hugh Freeze mid season? I think so. Game. Get a new spotter if you have to.
E
If it gets to that point. Do you still have your PlayStation 5? I think you should. You should get the college football game and play with these two teams and that'll drill the rosters into your head. That's how I used to learn all the college football rosters back in the day. Is playing that game so much. Just keep playing Western versus Southern Miss over and over and you'll have all of the guys memorized with their numbers.
C
It's actually a pretty good idea. I need to get Tom Leach to. You know, because you were right. He has that big card. Drew. But I don't know what's on that card. Do you know what's on it? No.
E
It always looks so colorful and organized.
F
Yeah. It's color coded pronunciations for names. You need to make sure you know how to pronounce.
C
Learn how to pronunciate these names. Oh, no.
E
Yep. They take it serious.
C
All right, Shannon, pull up. Pull up the Western Kentucky and Southern Miss roster. And you, you give me any names here. Let's do this real quick. Let's pull this.
F
I got Western Kentucky.
E
I want you to be prepared.
C
Yeah. Now let's do this. Let's. Let's pull it up and let's see if there are names That, I think.
F
Oh, I already see one.
C
Okay, hang on. Let me. Let me get. Let me get it. Let me get it pulled up because I need to be able to see it. Western Kentucky football roster. All right, let's see. Western Kentucky football roster. What number are you worried about?
F
All right, he is number zero.
C
Zero. Are you talking about. Oh, my goodness.
F
Yeah. Good luck. Well, how would you say that one?
C
Machiavelli. Mala Tumor.
F
This is going to be great.
E
See, right there, that's when you throw the spotter under the bus, you say. You were supposed to give me the pronunciations.
C
Mala Tumao. That's hard to say. Mallow to Mao. Yeah. Maltumao. It's. It's okay. Yeah, we're going to have to work on that one.
F
You might be clear for the rest of it. Let's just hope that guy.
C
Look up the rest of them. Look up credit. Dominic Oliver. I got him. Caleb McMichol.
F
Connor Olson. I think you can say that one.
C
Robbie Harrison. Easy. Owen Loy. He's a good guy. A varian. Cole, like him. Cole Maynard.
E
What about. Right? A former cat. Just talk about him the whole game.
C
They have a former cat. Lavelle, right?
E
Yeah, Kentucky.
C
Oh, they got a guy named Fonzie.
F
You're good.
C
Xavion. Tutu. Griffin. He's got to be good, right? If his nickname is Tutu?
F
Yeah. We got to look at the other team's roster. You're good on Western Kentucky. You're good on that.
C
Looks like that's all right. I'm Western Kentucky. If I can just do the guy named Number Zero, I think I got the rest of them.
F
He's a defensive lineman, too, so he may not even start.
E
That's where you give him a cool nickname. Agent Zero. Just call him Agent Zero the whole game. Don't even bother saying, look at this.
C
Maybe I need to take Drew. You two actually understand me, right? Like, you could go just call him Agent Zero.
F
Yeah, yeah, I know. Hey, Southern Miss has a guy named Matt Jones.
E
Look at that.
C
That's 20 minutes of content right there. That's a whole quarter.
They have a guy. What position does Matt Jones play?
F
Bench. No, running back. He's a.
C
Wait a minute. Was that the guy that was at Ole Miss?
F
Maybe he's a red shirt senior.
C
Yeah, that's the guy. That was that. Ole Miss.
E
You have so much to say, you're going to need overtime to get through all this content.
C
Look at this.
F
All right, number 12 on Southern Miss. How you saying that?
C
Yeah, see, I don't I don't. I don't have it pulled up. What's that? What's. How do you spell it?
F
G U Y L I J A H. That's his first name.
C
Geisela. Okay. Guy Elijah.
F
Okay, then his last name is T H E O D U L E.
C
Theo. Joel.
A
Okay.
C
The osil.
F
I'll accept it.
C
Guy Elijah Fiosil.
E
Yeah, I think he was in Hamilton. Writes me a letter every day.

C
Is this Leonard Skynyrd?
F
It is, yeah.
G
Yeah.
C
I feel like this is a song that like the Vanetti of the world come in as their intro music a lot, isn't it?
F
Probably so.
C
Just feels like guys that, like. I feel like if Ryan hosted a show he would come in with this, so.
F
And Leonard Skinner's a band that has no original members but still tours.
C
I don't think that should be allowed. I've been very clear about it.
F
I mean like 100 years from now they're still going to be touring like Menudo.
C
Right.
F
It's not really Leonard Skinner though.
C
No, it's not. But I don't like. I think, I think you should only be able to continue the band if you have the same lead singer because that's who everybody's there to see anyway, right?
F
Yeah, but I mean. Well, I mean then in that case ACDC wouldn't have been around for the last 30 years.
C
Yeah, but that. But I think their new lead singer was good.
F
Yeah. So you're saying there are exceptions.
C
There are a couple of exceptions. Van Halen's an exception when they went to Sammy Hagar. Right. And then, yeah, acdc. And that's it. Nobody else gets it. Nobody else gets to do it. 859280, 2287 Text Machine is 772-77-45254. One person writes, I'd like to know from Frank Franklin specifically, will Kentucky make the tournament?
E
Oh boy.
I'll say yes at this point, but I'll admit it's way more comfortable than it should be. On December 9, you cannot go oh and 6 in your non conference schedule and then go into conference play thinking you're in good standing. So I don't know if I'm calling for them to win the next two, but at least get one and then figure this out by sec play and you can sneak in as a non seed.
C
Yeah, I'm still going to say yes, but it's because I do have the hope that with low acquaintance you're going to be better in Diabate.
So I'm going to still say yes. I also think the SEC is not very good, but I think the key stretch for Me is going to be.
Pull up the basketball schedule there. You play Alabama in your first game on the road. I have no confidence we're going to win that game. But then if I remember correctly, we've got like three or four games in a row that are pretty winnable. Am I right about that? After. After.
E
I'm not calling anything winnable right now, but yeah, we go. Let's see. You're right. It goes at Alabama, opens play, then host Missouri and Mississippi State.
C
And then you go, we need to win those. Then what are the, what are the next two? What's the next road games?
E
LSU and Tennessee, back to back.
C
Okay, so that little string of Missouri, Mississippi State, at lsu.
I will decide whether or not this team is a tournament team in those three games. If you're a tournament team, you need to win all three of those games, especially if you have a bad non confident conference. Those are going to be the three games. To me, if you lose any of those games, you're probably going to struggle to make the tournament. So let's see how that to me is when I'll judge. I mean, even if you're great, winning at Alabama's hard. Winning at Tennessee is hard. But those three games are a tournament team. Should beat those two teams at home and go win at lsu. So we'll, we'll see what, what happens with those. Who's next?
F
The truth.
C
Truth. How are you? Truth.
G
Matt, I just want to personally say this to you and if you allowed me to do it, I'm praying for your mother and you and your dad and I know what it is to go through medical and all that, but I want to let you know you got a friend and you know we cut up about sports, but ain't nothing like having them. I wish I had my mom and my dad like you and you, you have your mom and dad. My heart go out for you and I. If you can let me say just a little bit prayer for you. Right on. Ksr. Is that all right?
C
It is. Thank you, Father.
G
I thank you for Mad Jones, his family, Father and God. I pray that you knit them together. God, you healed his father. God, you praying strength and love and company. Father, I ask you in the name of Jesus. Amen. Thank you, man. I holler at y' all Friday about Indiana. God bless you.
C
Thank you, man. I appreciate that. That's very nice of you. Who's next?
F
Let's go to Tim.
C
Tim. Go ahead, Tim.
G
Hey, Matt, thanks for taking my call. Hey, I just wanted to talk about Mark Pope. Just for a second. A lot of people are saying that, like, maybe he's on the hot seat and maybe he is, but I don't think so. Although I would say this poor performance is got to be all on him. Like, you know, he had to know the chemistry wasn't right before all of this happened. He just had to know.
C
Yeah, you know, I appreciate the call. I don't know, Drew. Do you think he did? I mean, I've kind of thought after the Louisville and Michigan State game, at times he seemed as sort of baffled by it as everybody else, don't you?
E
Yeah, he's at a loss for words. And maybe you have some bad apples that he didn't see in recruiting and you can chalk it up to that. But, you know, if next year, if we have another team where we're like, well, these guys don't fit again either, you really have to get concerned because remember, a big part of his message in recruiting is he says no to guys because they're not the right fit. You know, we'll miss a guy in the portal and justify by like, well, the meeting with Pope didn't go well. He doesn't fit Kentucky. Well, the guys you settled on obviously aren't fitting very Kentucky very well either. So that worries me about recruiting because he's supposed to be so selective about who he's getting.
C
Yeah.
What has been sort of odd to me is to watch how much he has seemed unable to figure out what was going on. That has been a little disconcerting to me. Just a second before that got on the text machine and somebody had written something actually somewhat bad to me and I was like how could somebody say that? And then you get back on and and you get that and you know that's a dude who's been calling this show for 15 years and I can't tell you how much that meant to me and I appreciate it man. And thank you guys very much everybody for listening. Enjoy the game tonight. I will not be on the game stuff tonight but I will be back tomorrow morning. Appreciate you guys listening.
