Nmlsconsumeraccess.Org welcome back hour number two Kentucky Sports Radio 859-280-2287 here at Wild Eggs Wild Eggs they just brought us out some food so good. Their little potato casserole things. They got the bacon, they got the omelets, sausage. The food here at Wild Eggs is great. We are at the one off of Tate's Creek. Crowd everywhere. I love looking at A crowd who doesn't know why we're here. That's my favorite part. I love it when we do this and we just have people who are here and they have a look like, why are these people up here talking, Ryan? It always makes me happy.
Shannon Dawson
Yeah.
Drew Franklin
They're looking around the corner like, what?
Matt Jones
Like these two women right here.
Drew Franklin
Yeah. What is.
Matt Jones
These two women are just like, why is this guy so loud? And I'm sitting here and now they're hiding themselves behind the menu. Don't worry, I'll shout you out every segment just so that you. Just so that you feel very welcome. 859280, 2287. Jeff Goodman is reporting that Jaden Quaint will not play tomorrow. So no Quaintance, no low. And we'll just see what happens. We've gone to Tennessee, Drew with less and we've won, so we might as well do it. Try to do it here.
Shannon Dawson
Yep, I agree. Been good going down there. Shorthanded the last two trips. I am worried at how good we are at fixing knee swelling. Has been a little bit of a while. I was hopeful he would give it a go. But let's. Let's get the medical team rolling so that knee can be better. Swelling has lingered a little longer than I thought. Swelling lingers.
Ryan Lemond
Can we get a knee doctor? We had an ankle doctor. We needed a knee doctor.
Matt Jones
Is negative Ryan, who last Saturday started to show his head out? Is he starting to feel more and more emboldened to be negative on the quaintance thing?
Drew Franklin
I think it was just needed to be discussed that, you know, he sits out right when he play well. And dad was very adamant on social media.
Matt Jones
How do you feel now, though? It's a week later, still hasn't played.
Drew Franklin
I think it deserves to be discussed.
Matt Jones
I'm going to say if we get to. Well, Arkansas is when?
Drew Franklin
31St.
Matt Jones
The 31st. All right, so you got Tennessee. Then we play Texas at home, Ole Miss on the road at Vandy. I'm going to look at that at Vandy game. If he doesn't play by then, then I'm gonna start to wonder if he's not gonna play. I still think he's gonna play. I still don't think there's any. I have not gotten a hint from anyone except negative Ryan that he's not gonna play. But if we go two and a half, Two weeks, two and a half weeks, then I do think, Shannon, you have to start and go, wait a minute, what's going on?
Ryan Lemond
Yeah, I'm not a Doctor. But I feel like two and a half weeks is long enough for a knee to stop swelling.
Matt Jones
Yeah.
Ryan Lemond
So I feel like at that point, he should be ready to go.
Matt Jones
Yeah. Well, we'll find out. I have the perfect Drew event for Ryan Lemon's attention span.
Shannon Dawson
Oh, okay.
Matt Jones
I watched this last night when I got home from Trivia. I went and watched it on YouTube, and I actually thought that was awesome. So, you know, tennis has lost a lot of its sort of national. At least in America. It's not as popular as it was like, when I was a kid or.
Shannon Dawson
When we were working there. It's gone downhill since.
Matt Jones
It has. It has. I mean, Federer and all those guys gone. I think that makes a part of it. But they. The Australian Open starts next week, and they had an event to get it kicked off. Shannon. It was called the One point Slam.
Ryan Lemond
I like it. Okay.
Matt Jones
So they put the top 25 men's players. They put the top, like, 15 women's players. And then they had a contest in Australia that anyone could enter where you could try to get to play in it. And the premise is it was a tournament, but you only had to play one point.
Drew Franklin
Wow.
Matt Jones
Okay. One point, win or lose. So the theory is, of course, you're not going to beat a good player in a whole match, but in one.
Ryan Lemond
Point, anything could happen.
Matt Jones
Anything could happen. They could double fault.
Ryan Lemond
Sure.
Matt Jones
Right. Anything could happen. So, like, eight or 10 people from across Australia made the finals. They had all these men professionals, women professionals. They had the tournament. It ended up crazy things happened. Okay. The number one player in the world lost to a woman on the women's tour. An amateur. Just an amateur. Dude beat Carlos Alcaraz out the final match. Ended up being a guy from Australia who was a good player, but not a professional, versus the number two woman in the world. One point, and he beat her, and he won a million dollars.
Drew Franklin
Wow.
Matt Jones
Just a guy in Australia ended up winning a million.
Ryan Lemond
See, I would watch something like this. This is kind of like tennis's version of the NCAA tournament. In one game, anything can happen.
Matt Jones
One point.
Ryan Lemond
St. Peter's can beat Kentucky.
Matt Jones
They would do paper, rock, scissors to see who got to serve. Okay. Yeah. And like, in one of the matches, one of the pros was playing an amateur, and the pro double faulted. His theory was, he can't hit my serve. But by the way, you didn't double fault one serve. Oh. If you put the first serve in.
Ryan Lemond
The net, you're out a lot of pressure. Yeah.
Matt Jones
I loved it. I. I watched it. I Even know who won, who had won because I'd seen the story, but still watch it. And the players were into it and they were loving it. And it was quick. You come in, you do the serve, go out. Next, next team.
Shannon Dawson
Yeah.
Ryan Lemond
10 minutes later, the whole thing's done.
Matt Jones
64 player tournament. There was a bracket.
Ryan Lemond
Yeah.
Matt Jones
Bamboo.
Drew Franklin
I'm watching that a lot more than I'm watching a five hour tennis match that goes five sets and tiebreaker after tiebreaker. I'm watching that.
Matt Jones
I feel like it was a. I feel like it was a great idea and it was something that could make men and women playing it because again, for one point, yeah, anyone could win. I thought it was excellent.
Shannon Dawson
I'd like to just sit there and rapid fire bet all day long as they just come up one after another. Also with our short attention spans, while other sports do this. Well, we have a basketball game where it's first to two and just bring out the next five.
Matt Jones
Well, let me ask you this. Would you want to watch this? You took the top 30 NBA players, top 15 women's players and then like 15 randos. Right. And it's just a shooting contest.
Ryan Lemond
Yeah. Or one on one.
Matt Jones
Or one on one to one.
Shannon Dawson
Yeah.
Drew Franklin
First one win.
Shannon Dawson
I think the lower seed should get.
Matt Jones
The ball in that lower seat. Yes.
Ryan Lemond
You put paper, rock, scissors for it.
Matt Jones
Wait a minute. Shannon the dude vs. LeBron, let's go. LeBron gets first ball, but Shannon gets first ball.
Ryan Lemond
He doesn't have a chance.
Shannon Dawson
Ryan vs.
Ryan Lemond
I would cross him over, knock a three right in his face.
Matt Jones
Wouldn't you like to watch that?
Nav Green
I would watch it.
Shannon Dawson
A random person would hit a 30 footer over Giannis.
Matt Jones
Yeah.
Shannon Dawson
Just to.
Matt Jones
People would let. People would lose their mind. So I thought the one point, the one point slam I thought was one of the cooler things I've seen some of them do in sports.
Shannon Dawson
Tennis shouldn't go back now. Tennis it is too long. Let's just keep the one point going.
Matt Jones
Now how many of you know that Kentucky, the state of Kentucky has a professional football team?
Ryan Lemond
Yeah, yeah, we do.
Matt Jones
In Louisville called the Kentucky Kings. Are they calling by the Louisville, Louisville Kings? That was a mistake. Should have been the Kentucky Kings, but they're the Louisville Kings and they had their draft yesterday and two of their draft picks, Ryan, were Benny Snell and Lynn Bowden. Do you think that was a good idea to help people be interested in the first year of the Louisville Kings?
Drew Franklin
It caught my attention. Now, whether they end up on the field or not, I guess that's another Debate if they're in shape and one's.
Matt Jones
Already said he's doing it. I haven't heard about Lynn Bowden.
Drew Franklin
I'm watching. You know Chris Redmond's the coach, right? Isn't he the coach? Yeah. When you got Benny Snell back there, it attracts all of our attention immediately.
Shannon Dawson
I think this is what they needed to do. Get local guys that people love who can still do it but just can't make the league. And what better group can you get on the Kentucky side than Benny Snell and Lynn Bowden? And then, you know, Lamar's pretty washed. Maybe they get Lamar next year.
Matt Jones
Really pretty good there.
Ryan Lemond
This is how you create a fan base though, right? You got to get them hooked right from the get go. Bring in some players that are familiar. And now, you know, maybe those are two perfect people.
Matt Jones
I mean, those are two guys that Kentucky fans. I'm sure they'll do the same. I didn't see, but I'm sure they'll do the same with Louisville people. But you get. If you get. I can't think of two people that would be better than Bitty Snail and Lynn Boat. Because they. Because they both still play football. They both still want to play football.
Ryan Lemond
In the league and our fans still want to see them and our fans.
Matt Jones
Still like them and they remember them and they. Beloved. Were beloved. So I could. I think it's a smart idea.
Shannon Dawson
Even if you're a little fan and you hate Kentucky, you have to be like, all right, this is a good deal for the Kings. Like going and getting those two going. Yeah, you have to embrace that a little bit. That's the perfect draft.
Matt Jones
Thought it was a really smart thing for them to do. 859-280-2287. Who's up next? Randy is up next. Randy. Go ahead, Randy.
Caller
Good morning, gentlemen. First off, Drew Franklin. Congratulations. There will never be anything more over satisfying to you to. When you get to watch Kentucky win a big game with your child and you get to hug him after that, that's one of the greatest satisfactions that I've had as a Kentucky fan as far as Mo. You know, it's awesome, the lineup, man. I just wish we'd find a lineup that he loves. Leaves it alone. And we go shorten that rotation to seven. Eight players. Just find out what's working and quit subbing and leave it alone. But I'm a basketball Benny. I'll hang up and let you guys talk. Have a great weekend.
Matt Jones
Well, I think that's what's gonna happen now. I mean, first of all, part of the thing reason they have to do that is guys are out, so there's not as many options. But I think, you know, Ryan, I think the lineup is pretty simple. They're going to play. They're going to play away and Aberdeen until their legs fall off. They're going to play Chandler and or cam at the 3, they're going to play Cam and or yellow, Vic or Diaboti at the four and they're going to play Moreno or garrison at the 5. And that's the lineup. Jasper Johnson, I hope he plays his way into that group, but he only played seven minutes the other night. But that's the team at this point and it is what it is.
Drew Franklin
Like we talked about, you know, Pope found the. I think the five guys he thought were playing the best in that second half. He's done that a couple times this year and he'll just run with them. None of this substitute in and out. I'm going to go with my guys that are playing the best that night.
Matt Jones
There might be games, Drew, where OA plays like 37 minutes.
Ryan Lemond
Sure.
Matt Jones
I think. I really don't know if they can afford to ever take him out.
Shannon Dawson
No, he's been doing it on both ends too, when he had like five steals, two games to go, finishing on fast breaks with Jasper. They're still going to need him. As awesome as Aberdeen was in that second half, we've seen his inconsistency consistencies all year. He's gonna have a bad game at some point and Jasper's gonna have to fill those shoes. Hopefully not many bad games. Now that's his role. But as well as he played at lsu, I don't know that we can expect that to be a regular occurrence, although I hope it is.
Matt Jones
I'm really surprised that Jasper didn't play more at LSU. I think we had the over under 14 and he was seven, didn't play at all in the second half.
Drew Franklin
Well, I think that's a credit more to Aberdeen. Aberdeen was playing so well.
Matt Jones
That is true. He was playing very well.
Drew Franklin
He had a couple shots to start the second half. You couldn't afford to take Aberdeen off the court. So I think it's more reflection on what Aberdeen was doing, not what Jasper wasn't doing.
Matt Jones
Do you think we will shoot the ball, Shannon, like we did in that second half against LSU? 8 of 11 from 3.
Ryan Lemond
No, not consistently. But I mean, I still want to see him take 30 threes. You know, I think that's the way that you beat this Tennessee team, you got to at least make a lot of attempts at three.
Caller
The.
Matt Jones
Have you anybody watched the angle of the Chandler pass?
Ryan Lemond
Crazy. The goal, like an inch difference.
Matt Jones
All right, first of all, when I see the angle from the Chandler pass, I think Moreno kind of threw Colin under the bus. That was to Morain. He wasn't trying to throw that to away. That was to Moreno. That pass from that angle, when you see what he saw, I cannot believe it worked. Nope. I mean, the dude was jumping up and down. He went over that guy. It's like just a, you know, in a millimeter over the LSU guys thing. And then to Moreno's credit, to catch it, turn, have the composure and make the shot. I mean, you could do that a hundred times. Ryan and I think it would work once. I really do.
Drew Franklin
Yeah. They said he overthrew Aberdeen and away. No, he didn't. That show. That throw was straight to Memorial. Real maybe in the third option, but.
Matt Jones
He was throwing it down. If you watch. If you see that video from behind, watch college Chandler's face. He's wants to throw it to away. He sees he's covered, and then he adjusts, and you can see his eye go, all right, I'm going to Moreno. And then. And then I forgot that earlier in the year, was it against North Carolina, Chandler did the same thing, and it didn't work through a bad pass. He threw a bad pass.
Shannon Dawson
I mentioned this yesterday. When Chandler went to inbound the ball Wednesday night, I was like, oh, God, we're not even going to touch it. Because I had that North Carolina throw in mind. He threw it to a pile of UNC players, but not this time. Not at all. And to Marino's credit, I mean, he caught that at the perfect top of his jump. Kind of Moss, the LSU defender on both ends. I don't think you could have had better execution from the pass or the catch.
Matt Jones
It was it. I mean, like I said, it's. In my opinion, Shannon. I mean, it's. It might be one of the two or three best ending shots in Kentucky history. I mean, we've had bigger shots in bigger games. Right, but they were like off a play or a half court set. I mean, in terms of some. We've never had something like that. I don't think we've ever had a one pass up good full court. I don't think it's ever happened.
Ryan Lemond
A lot of people compare that shot to the Leitner shot, but keep in mind, Leitner had like 2.1 seconds. So he had a Little bit. Even more extra time than what Maria.
Matt Jones
Time for a dribble, right? He had time for a dribble right now.
Ryan Lemond
Had to do that all in one motion basically.
Matt Jones
Yeah.
Shannon Dawson
And it completed an 18 point comeback. That's true. Yeah. That's also adding that to the true story will be hard to tell.

Welcome back. It is Kentucky Sports Radio 859-280-2287. Here at Wild Eggs off Tate's Creek, they get Brandon. Our sales guy made an AI image of Ryan Lemon that was supposed to be Ryan Lemon at Wild Eggs. I want you to look at that. I'm gonna even say, brandon did Ryan wrong. Ryan, you are much more handsome than what this is.
Drew Franklin
Thank you.
Matt Jones
That ended up on this sheet of paper. You got to stop with the AI. That doesn't look like Ryan at all.
Drew Franklin
Yep. I got my KSR gear on, though.
Shannon Dawson
That's Ryan plus £150.
Matt Jones
Yeah.
Ryan Lemond
After he's eaten all of wild oak.
Matt Jones
That's true. If you ate this whole restaurant, that's what you would. I also don't know why it's you on Valentine's Day looking like you're making love to a pancake. Why is that?
Drew Franklin
I think that's the image they want to portray here.
Shannon Dawson
While it is.
Matt Jones
Yeah, let's not let Brandon be in charge of the of it anymore. We have. There's two new podcasts that Drew and I and Billy did yesterday. We have our Cover Zero podcast, which was. Which we did. And then immediately we did a news podcast where we broke down Ryan, we broke down Venezuela, Minnesota, Greenland, whole milk, all the big issues of the day. Me and Drew and Billy, we fixed all of them yesterday.
Drew Franklin
Well, I understand why you're talking about Greenland and Venezuela. Why whole milk? Why did that get in the conversation?
Shannon Dawson
Well, big story.
Ryan Lemond
He doesn't.
Matt Jones
I'm glad you asked.
Drew Franklin
Okay.
Matt Jones
Since you asked.
Drew Franklin
All right.
Matt Jones
The RFK and his brilliance. He decided that we're going to bring whole milk back to schools. Actually, I don't mind this. I think. I think he's a kook. But on this, it's actually not that big a deal. But I guess when I was a kid, we drank whole milk at school, and then it became 2% milk. And then I guess now they're going to bring it back to whole milk. But here's something I didn't know yesterday. When you hear whole milk, I would always hear 2%. And then I would hear whole milk. And I was like, was that 100%? Yeah.
Shannon Dawson
Big jump?
Matt Jones
Because it seems like that would be a huge jump.
Ryan Lemond
Give me all the fat.
Matt Jones
It's only 3.25%, so it's really not whole of anything. Yeah, it's 3.25%.
Ryan Lemond
So we're arguing over 1.25%.
Matt Jones
Correct. Agree. So now they're bringing it back, and they're. And they're saying that every person in America should at least. Unless you're lactose intolerant, you should drink at least two glasses of milk a day. I would rather die.
Ryan Lemond
I had my glass of milk last night to celebrate.
Matt Jones
I. We've. We've been on this conversation a lot. I find milk the most disgusting thing in America. I can't. I cannot think of anything I would like to drink less than whole milk. I really can't.
Ryan Lemond
What if I gave you a big cookie? A big chocolate chip cookie?
Drew Franklin
You got to have milk when you.
Ryan Lemond
Want milk with that, right?
Matt Jones
How do you eat it?
Shannon Dawson
Oreo?
Matt Jones
I. Yeah, okay, if you're telling me cereal. First of all, slow down.
Shannon Dawson
Milk defenders.
Matt Jones
Cereal is different. Having cereal and milk, I'm fine with. Okay, I'm talking about drinking a glass of whole milk. Now, I could drink a little bit of, like, 2% or skim, but I don't love it. But a glass of whole milk makes me. First of all, just think about where milk comes from.
Nav Green
Ugh.
Ryan Lemond
Well, think about where anything comes from.
Drew Franklin
Beef.
Matt Jones
I know, but I. But for some reason. This is. For some reason, with milk, I can see it. Like, when I see the steak, it looks different than the cow.
Shannon Dawson
Okay?
Matt Jones
But when I see the milk, I think of tooting that thing right there.
Drew Franklin
Tooting the thing.
Matt Jones
Toot, toot.
Ryan Lemond
Here it comes.
Matt Jones
I think of the utters and the toots, and I'm just like, ugh. Are you. Part of the problem is you're.
Shannon Dawson
You're buying cows that are tooting while.
Matt Jones
You'Re getting the milk. You might be.
Shannon Dawson
Might be spoiled.
Drew Franklin
I am 100 team milk. I cannot have dessert. Chocolate cake. Pie, Pie, Chocolate chip cookies. Nothing without a big. And you gotta have milk in a glass. Glass. No, plastic.
Matt Jones
All right, I'll tell you what we'll do. We're here at Wild Eggs. I'm gonna guess they have milk, right? Sure, you have milk. All right, Brandon, if you'll get me a glass of cold, cold.
Shannon Dawson
Don't get their hot milk.
Ryan Lemond
Yeah, warm milk's bad.
Matt Jones
If you get me a glass of cold whole milk, I will have what is probably my first first taste of whole milk since eighth grade.
Shannon Dawson
Wow, look at this.
Drew Franklin
Only have 2%.
Matt Jones
You only have 2%. All right, that's also gross, but I will. I will. I will try that. All right. Just imagine I'm genuinely. I do not think I have had a glass of milk since pouring it for you right now since high school.
Drew Franklin
Really?
Shannon Dawson
Have you not broken every bone you have?
Matt Jones
Yeah, well, no, I drew. I get dairy. I just don't drink.
Ryan Lemond
Figured you'd have osteoporosis.
Shannon Dawson
Here we go. Here we go.
Drew Franklin
Ice cold, 2% milk.
Matt Jones
Here it is.
Drew Franklin
Look at that.
Matt Jones
It looks so first of all. Just.
Shannon Dawson
All the. All the challenges we've done.
Matt Jones
Yeah.
Ryan Lemond
Hey, two, two. Drink up.
Matt Jones
Let's go. Toot, toot. Oh, God. Chuck.
Shannon Dawson
Chuck.
Matt Jones
Chug, chug, chug, chug.
Ryan Lemond
Imagine where that milk came from as.
Drew Franklin
You'Re drinking it.
Nav Green
The whole thing.
Ryan Lemond
Come on, man.
Matt Jones
That's so. That's just not.
Drew Franklin
Sarah. Terrible. It's good.
Matt Jones
No, it's. Look at that. I want you to think about where that.
Drew Franklin
It's past your eyes. It's safe.
Shannon Dawson
Chug it.
Ryan Lemond
Chug it.
Matt Jones
Take it out.
Ryan Lemond
Ryan, Drew, show him how it's done.
Shannon Dawson
There you go.
Matt Jones
There you go.
Drew Franklin
There we go.
Matt Jones
Oh, my gosh. Put it down.
Drew Franklin
Yes, sir.
Matt Jones
That good milk? Seriously, that.
Ryan Lemond
Straight from the udder.
Matt Jones
I mean, hopefully, you know, Wild Eggs has the best milk if you're gonna have milk.
Ryan Lemond
That's right.
Matt Jones
Oh, my goodness.
Shannon Dawson
Gotta get my mustache off.
Ryan Lemond
They got the cows in the back.
Drew Franklin
I will say this. I don't know how the people drink skim milk. It's just like this. Like white water.
Matt Jones
Did you. Did you really. I did. I looked away. Did you drink all.
Drew Franklin
He killed it.
Matt Jones
Oh, my goodness.
Shannon Dawson
I can chug.
Ryan Lemond
And he doesn't even have a mustache after that either.
Shannon Dawson
I think I had a pretty big one.
Matt Jones
Okay, that's the word that's ruined my day. Who's next? Gallon challenge.
Shannon Dawson
I've done that.
Matt Jones
Don't even talk to me. Go ahead.
Caller
Thank you. Matt, take my call. I got a couple things. One thing I liked about. They brought rips from spot because I'm an old guy, and Pat Riley is my favorite player all time. But I think the slow part, my opinion, y' all may disagree, that's fine. But I like it because you take calls. Coach Pope won't take calls and Buzz Baker won't take them. And I wish he would have him on the ra. Coach Pope and asked him why he won't take calls. Because it's unfair to the fans. They've been taking calls for years. But the standard.
Matt Jones
Listen, I agree with you. I think they should take calls now to be fair to them. They did have a period where I don't think they were getting calls, and so that's partially it. But now I think people would call, and they're not taking them. So I'm on your side. I mean, the whole point is it's a calling show. Respectfully, no one wants to hear him talk to Jeff Shepard or Travis Ford or, like, nobody wants to hear that. No one on earth wants to hear that. So I'm kind of. I'm Kind of.
Caller
It's a boring show, man. And I think to stand in the round, it's like when we. When we press, we pick up full court. They're standing around when they first start. They don't move, they don't set screens, they don't rebound. They stand around. I've never been a coach. My son played high school ball, but I've never been a coach. But if you don't want to play is what I would tell him. Guys, before the game, you're going to come out and I'm going to put somebody in there.
Matt Jones
And if you. Well, I'm going to have to cut you off because I got to go. Because I got to go. Break. I'm sorry. But I appreciate. I appreciate the call. I agree with you. I think if you look Drew at when we've struggled, if you go back and watch the first half, watch how many possessions we run down the court, everybody just stands there and watches a guy dribble. And when you have elite superstar players, you can do that because the one guy can beat his man off the dribble, draw the defense and then people. But we don't have that. So when we just stand around, we. It's a disaster. And I think when we play bad, that's the common denominator.
Shannon Dawson
And that's not Pope's offense. It's supposed to be constant movement, reading, reacting. You're trying to find a mismatch and get the defense on the hills. But when you're just standing around the perimeter, not moving, defense didn't having to work too hard.
Ryan Lemond
Can we get Matt some more milk over here, please?
Matt Jones
I mean the milk. I'll do another one after the aftertaste, too.
Ryan Lemond
So good.
Drew Franklin
Nutritious and delicious.
Matt Jones
Oh, how many people in here like milk?
Ryan Lemond
Everybody but you.
Shannon Dawson
Everybody.
Ryan Lemond
Get out of here.
Matt Jones
Everybody.
Ryan Lemond
Look at all y' all got milk.
Matt Jones
Gross, people. We'll take a break and be right back. This is Kentucky Sports Radio. Welcome back. It is Kentucky Sports Radio. 859-280-2287. The text machine is 772-7745254. One person writes, matt, your aversion to milk is not normal. Another person writes, matt, that's why you are your age and single. I don't think because you don't like me long take. I do not think my milk view has any effect on my. And people always say, like, like your. Your age and single, as if that's a negative. I. I'm very happy.
Ryan Lemond
As long as you're happy. That's all that matters.
Matt Jones
Yes. It's not. I mean, people say that, like, it would have been impossible for me to like. You could never have met a woman. Yeah, I've met a few.
Ryan Lemond
It's not the milk.
Matt Jones
It's not. It's not the milk that has kept it from working. It's usually other. It's usually other things that have. Have been issues. The milk. I. I have yet to have a relationship end in milk.
Ryan Lemond
You know, no woman's ever said, you don't like milk. I can't date you.
Matt Jones
Yeah. So I don't think that has a lot to.
Drew Franklin
But, you know, when we were younger, they scared us to death. We didn't drink milk. We weren't going to grow and get strong bones.
Matt Jones
We. If you listen to the new the Interrupted podcast we did, Drew and I talked about over the years, you know, medical advice you get comes and goes like we were talking about. Billy apparently takes a shot of turmeric every day because he says it cleans out his gut, which was making me think about, like, I never heard the term gut as something anybody cared about. Like, it used to be, if you said gut, that just meant you're fat.
Caller
Right.
Matt Jones
And now it's like, oh, you got to take care of your gut.
Ryan Lemond
Probiotics.
Matt Jones
It's probiotics. And then they want you to have all this bacteria in your gut. I used to think bacteria was bad. So, like, you don't just, you know, just live life. Just live life.
Shannon Dawson
Just go to wild eggs.
Matt Jones
Your time is going to hit you at some point anyway. All right, so let's. Let's talk a little bit about the games that are not Kentucky. We're not going to be on the air Monday. So before where you hear from us on Monday, we will have had the NFL playoffs and the national championship. So let's go through them. NFL playoffs. I'm going to give you the game. You tell me who's going to win. We'll start with Bill's Broncos. What do you got?
Ryan Lemond
I think the Broncos win and you guys are going to be going with Ryan on the road to the Super Bowl.
Matt Jones
Yeah. I got asked yesterday if Ryan goes to Super Bowl. You can buy his ticket. No. The answer is without question. No. What do you got?
Shannon Dawson
I'm going to trust Josh Allen here. I'll bet against him in Jacksonville. I'm going to ride with him in Denver.
Drew Franklin
Devin Key in the Broncos. Let's go. Broncos.
Caller
Broncos.
Drew Franklin
Broncos.
Matt Jones
I'm going with Josh Allen and I'm taking the Bills along with. With Drew Seahawks, 49ers Saturday night.
Ryan Lemond
49Ers big win on the road against Philadelphia to get to this point. I'm going to the 49ers again to roll.
Shannon Dawson
Shannon splitting again. I like this one the most. I think Seahawks are gonna put it.
Ryan Lemond
On a pretty good in the spread.
Drew Franklin
Like seven or something.
Matt Jones
49Ers, like everybody's hurt. Whole team.
Drew Franklin
I'm gonna go Seahawks at home.
Matt Jones
I'm taking the Seahawks. Everybody. I mean, if they just. They don't have anybody left. I think the Seahawks have to win. Patriots versus Texans.
Ryan Lemond
Patriots.
Shannon Dawson
A lot of reactionary. I'm going Patriots also.
Drew Franklin
I'm going Patriots also.
Matt Jones
Houston Texans. They got great defense. Will Anderson might be the best defensive player in the league. Give me the Texans to go on the road and take the upset. And then my Bears against the Rams.
Ryan Lemond
I hate to say it, but Chicago is going to be cold. LA is used to that warm weather. I'm going to go with the Bears. I think they win.
Shannon Dawson
I wish this was the NFC championship. These are my two favorite teams in the nfc. I'm going to go Rams, but I'm.
Matt Jones
Rooting for your Bears.
Shannon Dawson
It's been fun watching them turn things around.
Drew Franklin
I don't know how the Bears won the game, to be honest. I don't know how they beat the packers twice. But they're at home. It's gonna be like one degree outside.
Matt Jones
Bears a win if they make the Super Bowl. I have committed to getting my nails painted like Caleb Williams. I did that on cover zero and.
Ryan Lemond
You gotta do the shuffle.
Matt Jones
No. Oh, I'll do that now. Sing you all the words. The shuffle right now. But if Caleb Williams make. If we make the Super Bowl, I'm going to get my nails painted.
Ryan Lemond
Well, get your Manny Petty for the.
Drew Franklin
For.
Matt Jones
For the Super Bowl. However, I don't think that's going to happen. Yeah, I picked the Rams and the Bills when the season started. I got to stay with it.
Ryan Lemond
There you go.
Drew Franklin
You're picking your Bears to lose.
Matt Jones
I picked them to lose last week. I don't. I mean, they've been surprising me all year. So I'm going to. I'm going to take the Rams to win national championship game. Indiana and Miami cost $747 to park. They are saying that after the game, the prices to get into clubs in Miami if the Hurricanes win, they think might be the highest price for a Miami of nightlife ever. Wow. Even more than like F1, Art, Basil, all of that. It would be if they were to win Monday night and Indiana fans. They are expecting 50,000 Indiana fans to go, and Miami is there. So this has got to be one of the harder tickets, probably for a national championship game ever. Who do you think? Who you think wins?
Ryan Lemond
You know, I've been pulling for Indiana all season long. I think they do it. They go perfect season, win the championship, and are like the greatest story, I think, in sports history. They're up there in my lifetime. At least I think they're up there.
Matt Jones
Yeah.
Shannon Dawson
I'm sodden with the home game. And it is a home game for Mendoza, who Miami did not offer. He is going to light up the Hurricanes.
Matt Jones
Yep.
Drew Franklin
All right, Indiana, Take Indiana off that jersey. They are the best team in college football. They've been the best team. They not. They ran Ohio State. They ran Alabama. They are in a roll. Indiana wins.
Matt Jones
I mean, well, they didn't run Ohio State. That game came down to the end. But. But Alabama, they ran.
Drew Franklin
Yep.
Matt Jones
Oregon, they ran. And I think they win again. I mean, I think Indiana. Indiana is going to, for the next 20 years, get coaches fired. No, I mean, dead serious. Yeah. Because the excuse everybody's always had, which is, well, it's mention the program. You can't do that now.
Drew Franklin
Nope.
Matt Jones
Because Indiana. Indiana's not just one of national or not going to just win. They're going to have dominated to win. And so Kurt Signetti is going to make more coaches get fired, maybe than any coach in history because he's so amazing. And if I were him, I'd win the title and I'd get out. Yep.
Ryan Lemond
Make a lot of money.
Matt Jones
No, Go to the NFL.
Ryan Lemond
Yeah, right.
Matt Jones
Like, go to the NFL. You have. You have done. What he will have done is the most unbelievable coaching. Like, he can never follow this up. So you might as well, like, now, go do it in the NFL and you might go down as the greatest coach in the history of football.
Shannon Dawson
I completely agree. But the question is, when they win it, will Signetti be part of the nightlife? Is he going out? Are we going to get pictures of Signetti club?
Ryan Lemond
I didn't know nightlife was even a thing anymore. Just people. Do people still go out?
Matt Jones
Because you haven't been to Miami.
Ryan Lemond
Okay, I have not been.
Shannon Dawson
I was there last week. They're still going out.
Matt Jones
I think it's a. It's a pretty big thing. Who's up next? Steve is up next. Steve, Go ahead, Steve.
Caller
Matt, can you hear me?
Matt Jones
Yes.
Shannon Dawson
Okay.
Caller
Matt, I just want to say that I hate Tennessee. I hate lsu. Tennessee's going down. If Kentucky does not Take it for granted or have a hangover from the LSU game. I think we've got a real shot. And also 49, baby, all the way.
Matt Jones
Well, I mean, I don't know if there'll be a hangover. You've got to hope, Brian, that the LSU game actually inserts some life and energy into this team and that they say, you know what, why not us? Right?
Drew Franklin
You're going to. You want to build off that win, not have a hangover from the win. You played in your best basketball of the season in that second half, coming back from 18 down. That's what you want to continue that.
Matt Jones
Let's talk about our next few games just for what Kentucky needs to do to make the turn. Are you got at Tennessee? I still would argue this is probably our third hardest game of the year in. In in conference. Alabama was the hardest. I would say at Arkansas is the second hardest. And this is probably the third. Then though, Texas at home, Old Miss at home. You got to win both those. Would you agree?
Ryan Lemond
Yes.
Matt Jones
Yes.
Shannon Dawson
Because Travis Perry, Homecoming.
Matt Jones
Because then you go to Vandy.
Drew Franklin
Yeah.
Matt Jones
So in my opinion, to make the tournament, if you take the next four games at Tennessee, Texas at home, Ole Miss at home, at Vandy, you need to go 2 and 2 if you want to make the tournament. And I think it'd be a lot easier to win those two home games, Drew, than the two road games. But that's what you need to do.
Shannon Dawson
And Ron just mentioned the importance of stacking some wins here. If you're really going to turn this around, what better thing to build off than that finish we'll be talking about a decade from now? You go beat Tennessee and you can kind of block out the year up until you've had a three game winning streak and really focus on finishing strong. So carry this momentum and keep it going forward.
Ryan Lemond
Texas doesn't have a great record, but they look great. Against Vandy the other night. I know that was a home game, but I think they're, you know, an improvement.
Matt Jones
Listen, there is no game on our schedule that I think is an obvious. Is like a certain win.
Shannon Dawson
Yeah.
Matt Jones
No, none. I mean I. Home no miss. Probably on paper the easiest game of the year. But they won at Georgia. Georgia's ranked and they won at Georgia the other night.
Shannon Dawson
So Georgia leads the country in scoring. It's crazy to say that out loud. Is that right?
Matt Jones
Number one. I did not know that. You can stock your freezer with beef from Noche Linda Farms. Listen, we had last night at Trivia, an Australian guy was in town, said I've never eaten here before. What should I get? I said get our burgers because of Noche Linda at KS Bar. He was like, dude, it's one of the best burgers I've ever had. That's exactly right. And it's we do a good job cook, but really it's no Che Linda Farms beef. They're great. The environment the cow is raised in is cleaner, safer than commercial beef. When you buy Noche Linda a Kentucky proud partner you are supporting local business Noche Linda Beef dry age for 24 days. You can get it KS Bar or you can get it at your house. Noche lindafarms.com N O C C H E lindafarms.com or 859-7077-0004 at Noche Linda Farms. We'll take a break and be right back at Wild Eggs here in Tate's Creek. Final segment coming up.

Matt Jones
Then Drake May up there.
Ryan Lemond
Josh Allen up there still.
Matt Jones
Oh, my boy Matthew Stafford.
Nav Green
Where did Bo Nicks at?
Matt Jones
He ain't too far behind. He did all this talking. What Matthew Stafford is doing statistically, bro, is crazy.
Nav Green
Bro, you know I ain't no Josh Allen fan, but Matthew Stafford got better web. Caleb Williams.
Ryan Lemond
Hey, he should be in that conversation.
Matt Jones
And what conversation?

Welcome back. It is Kentucky Sports Radio 859-280-2287. The text machine is 772-774-5254. One of the people who where excuse me. The UK football account just tweeted out feed the stud. Find the studs. Turns in to feed the studs. Which means they probably got a commitment here in just a little bit. Well I get might even come out in the next five or six minutes. We'll see.
Shannon Dawson
Maybe it's the one you reported earlier. You know you broke the kid that put it in his bio car.
Matt Jones
Huh?
Shannon Dawson
The car kid that put it his bio. You're like I'm just gonna go ahead and claim it.
Matt Jones
Well, I mean I'm claiming him. I don't know if that means that.
Ryan Lemond
Is he a student?
Matt Jones
I mean he is sure me sure.
Shannon Dawson
I know you know it's more important to get players and win games but I'm really enjoying just their fan engagement online. The last I don't think knew they had a Twitter account. In fact Mark Stoops was even shadow banned on Twitter where if he did tweet you can't really see it. But this group is like they're posting Jared Lorenzen highlights and stuff. Will did that video. You know that's small stuff.
Matt Jones
He was shadow banned.
Shannon Dawson
Yeah, like I mean he fire off one tweet did have 30 views and Vince was the only one with a Twitter account of that staff. And it's not about Twitter. We want to win games. But I like that the staff has been very active. Even the assistants are like tweeting out pictures of former players and stuff.
Matt Jones
Who's going to be our best player tomorrow for Kentucky versus Tennessee?
Drew Franklin
Great question. I mean it's got to be o way the way he's playing. He's got about 20 points in four straight SEC games. He's, he's our stud. You know you feed the stud. He is our stud and got to continue to play that way.
Ryan Lemond
Yeah, he was sick last game. Still got 21 points. So I'm going to hope that he's feeling better tomorrow.
Matt Jones
That hasn't gotten discussed a lot was the fact that he was sick during that game. I mean 21 points while he's sick. He scored at least 20 points in all four SEC games. First guy at Kentucky to do that since Jody Meeks. He's on pace to be all sec. Just so you know, when I was looking at the all time point list, I don't think people realize if Ortega finishes the season on the same pace he does, he has, he's going to be pretty high on the UK all time point list because he's going to have played two years. If you're talking like post Cal Perry era, he's going to end up being one of our highest scorers after. Because he's played two years.
Shannon Dawson
If I'm not mistaken, last year even including Cal finished with one of the highest points per game averages for a season. And now if he can keep it going the way he has the, the first four games to start. Sec. Yeah, I expect him to finish strong and be right in that conversation.
Matt Jones
Yeah, I want to look because I think people will be shocked at some of the names he is up against if he continues at this pace. I think, I think people will be very surprised. Who's up next? Sue is up next. Sue. Go ahead Sue. Hello Matt.
Caller
I need to know.
Matt Jones
Hello sue, how are you?
Caller
I need to know why Trent Noah is never mentioned as well.
Matt Jones
Because he doesn't play primarily. That's the biggest reason. But also just. I mean to be honest with you sue, he just hasn't. He hasn't done a lot right.
Caller
Well, how can you do anything if you don't play well?
Matt Jones
I also think about when he's played kind of what he's been. I think that's really where the big issue is.
Caller
He had his. He's had as many good games as the other. Some of the others have. He is the only one who is not getting to play. And.
Matt Jones
And there nobody mentions the reason. Yeah, well, I understand Sue. I get it. It's nice to hear from you and I appreciate the call. So I'm gonna, I'm gonna give you just some names that if, if. Let's just say otega away. Let's say he averages, you want to say 20 points a game for the rest of the year. Is that, is that a fair.
Drew Franklin
Is that a fair number he's on right now?
Matt Jones
Yeah. So let's just say that he averages 20 points a game. So that would put him about. He would finish about 70th all time in scoring. He would be right next to Travis Ford. Here's who if away did that. Here's who he would have scored more points than their career. Are you ready?
Drew Franklin
Ready.
Matt Jones
Walter McCarty. Marques Estelle, Larry Conley. PJ Washington, Anthony Epps, Willie Collie Stein, Cliff Hawkins, Tyler Ulis, Nazi Muhammad, Antoine Walker. Aaron. Andrew Harrison, Sean Woods. If he were to average 20 points a game, he would pass all of those names. I said in career scoring. I don't think people would realize that he would be that high up on the scoring list.
Drew Franklin
I wouldn't have thought that you know because some of those guys you mentioned played here four years will tell you just two years in the same category that I guess Antoine played two years and the Harrison twins and yeah but.
Matt Jones
I mean more than Tyler Ulison. I mean would you have thought Walker Malt, McCarty played here three years. Like that's a really surprising year.
Shannon Dawson
Players you name surprise me. The two year if he keeps this last year was really well I think Murray might be the only one that has averaged more points than him in a season in a long time and he had that run of 20 points a game for however many was that was a record. So I'm not surprised at all these in the two year conversation. But But McCarty and the guys Ford those surprised me a little bit.
Matt Jones
Let me read you real quick. The only two year players at Kentucky that would have more points than away if he finishes at this pace. Bill Spivey. Bill Spivey has the most points ever in two years. You know who's second? Just take a guess. Anybody. Can anybody think of who the second highest scoring two year player in UK history is? Antonio Reeves.
Caller
Wow.
Matt Jones
We are going to all be under estimating. And Antonio Reeves by the way remember really didn't play the first half of his first year.
Shannon Dawson
He had to make Cal plan.
Matt Jones
Antonio Reeves then Oscar Sheepway, Rex Chapman, Terrence Jones, Duron Lamb, Ron Mercer. Those would be the only players in UK history with more points in OA. And I will note Duron Lamb and a couple of those guys played a lot more games because we will advance more in the tournament Drew than we probably will in these two years years.
Shannon Dawson
And you know 20 a game moving forward seems high but him turning the corner when we got the SEC play I expect him to be close to it. He is completely flipped a switch from when we were a little down on him earlier in the season.
Matt Jones
Antonio Reeves, Shannon. Yeah, that high.
Ryan Lemond
It's a lot of think about some.
Shannon Dawson
Of those big games.
Ryan Lemond
Yeah a lot of great players you just mentioned there puts it into perspective.
Matt Jones
Antonio Reeves is 45th all time in UK score.
Ryan Lemond
You would you know you don't think.
Matt Jones
That and no and I just don't think people would ever would ever put him in that category. All right, give me a score tomorrow Shannon. Well first cornbread Hemp.com brings your predictions. Try the burgers and everything. But until then, tell me who's going to win.
Ryan Lemond
I walk out Kentucky to win, obviously, but I don't think they're going to. So I'm going to pick Tennessee to win 81 to 74. Ortega away.
Shannon Dawson
Kind of want to switch to Kentucky but there's a website graphic that already has my Tennessee pick. But I am feeling good with going into this one. I'll stick with Tennessee. I'll say they win 74, 73, but I don't think this is a game where we're going to be blown out or first half is anything like last week. I'm confident they're going to play a good game come down to the end.
Matt Jones
I think we're going to be completely competitive but I don't think we're going to win. I'm going to say Tennessee 77, 71, but I think it'll be a game that's close throughout, you know, within six, four to 10 points. But I do not think we will be able to get the victory. Ryan limit. Are you going to finish positive? So we don't all pick Tennessee.
Drew Franklin
One of us has to pick Kentucky, right? So yeah, you saw Dr. We've won five of the last six down there so why can't they make another and get another win down there? So I'll pick. I'll be the one guy to pick Kentucky.
Matt Jones
73, 72 cats, you better pick against Kentucky because you've been bad luck. Mario is leaving tomorrow. Mario is going with Bob in Jamestown to the Alien Fest. Thank Paul here who's going with him so Mario doesn't have to go by himself.
Shannon Dawson
Paul's a saint.
Matt Jones
Are you looking forward to it, Mario? That doesn't seem very exciting, but I'm looking forward to seeing what will happen tomorrow morning. Date: January 16, 2026
Hosts: Matt Jones, Drew Franklin, Ryan Lemond, Shannon Dawson
Location: Wild Eggs, off Tate’s Creek
In this lively second hour of Kentucky Sports Radio, the crew gathers at Wild Eggs in Lexington to cover a smorgasbord of UK basketball analysis, quirky sports news, and local flavor. The main themes include updates on the Kentucky basketball roster (specifically Jaden Quaintance’s injury), creative sports formats, the launch of the Louisville Kings football team, fan calls, NFL playoffs, college football championship predictions, and debates over the merits (and grossness) of whole milk.
Jaden Quaintance Out:
Jeff Goodman reports that Jaden Quaintance won't play tomorrow; swelling in his knee persists. The crew discusses the time frame for concern and speculate on the likelihood of his long-term absence.
Shortened Rotation:
With injuries persisting, the group expects a tighter UK lineup:
Trent Noah Minutes:
Caller Sue wonders why Noah isn’t mentioned or played more; Matt responds bluntly that he just “doesn’t play... and hasn't done a lot right” to date.
Otega Oweh’s Place in UK History:
Discussion highlighting Oweh’s scoring pace—if sustained, he would finish near or above several iconic UK players in two-year point totals.
On Quaintance’s swelling:
“Can we get a knee doctor? We had an ankle doctor. We needed a knee doctor.” — Ryan Lemond (03:25)
On innovative sports formats:
“I thought the one point, the one point slam was one of the cooler things I've seen some of them do in sports.” — Matt Jones (08:35)
On drafting local heroes:
“This is how you create a fan base though, right? You got to get them hooked right from the get go. Bring in some players that are familiar.” — Ryan Lemond (09:47)
On milk aversion:
“I want you to think about where that... just think about where milk comes from. Toot, toot.” — Matt Jones (20:39 and 21:00, recurring joke)
On scoring history:
“Antonio Reeves is 45th all time in UK score... I just don’t think people would ever put him in that category.” — Matt Jones (43:59)
The episode features casual banter, frequent humor, and an engaging, conversational style. The KSR crew mixes serious sports analysis with heckling, ribbing, and self-deprecation, staying true to its “everyman” Kentucky sports radio appeal.
This hour provides a mix of critical Kentucky basketball injury updates, unique sports event recaps, fan engagement (both in-person and via calls), bold predictions, and characteristically hilarious digressions—including a must-hear milk chugging contest. Though UK’s prospects in the next stretch are scrutinized, optimism abounds for both the team’s future and central Kentucky sports culture.
Next episode: Tune in for post-game reactions after Kentucky–Tennessee, fan stories from the Alien Fest, and further roster news.
