One of the biggest misconceptions about buying a home right now is that you have to wait for the perfect moment. Perfect rates, perfect timing, perfect market. The truth is that moment doesn't really exist. A lot of buyers pause because of headlines or assumptions. But every situation is different. Race changes, markets shift, and personal goals matter just as much as what's happening nationally. That's why talking with a local lender can be so valuable. When you contact Stockton Mortgage, you get paired up with a local lender. That lender will give you your options. That lender will explain the situation. You can ask your own questions. Welcome to hour two of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage. Now here's Matt Jones.
Matt Jones
Welcome back. Hour number two, Kentucky Sports Radio, 859-280-2287 Machine 772-774-5254 Celebrating the big win against the Vols, Drew got a cool thing coming up. Wednesday night. Cornbread Hemp is sponsoring fifteen hundred dollars in prize money at KS Bar, the college basketball pick them contest. We are going to pick games at KS Bar against the spread. Kentucky doesn't play this week. All right. If you think you are good at college basketball, pick them. Cornbread Hemp is sponsoring and we give money to first, second and third place. I think a thousand bucks for first place. All right, good. That's pretty good money. And all you got to do is we're going to pick a slate of all the games that are on TV that night. You're going to pick them and then we'll all watch them. And over time it'll be like we do with the national championship in football. People will rise and fall and we will have a champ that will win money. I am very excited about it. Cornbread Hemp is sponsored. We're going to do it one more time later in the year and then we might do it for the NCAA tournament as well. But it is a pick them challenge. It is Wednesday night, you have to be at the restaurant at 6:30 because we have to get the picks in. All right, so 6:30, and it'll go through the early games. It'll be like 7 to, like, 9:30 or whatever. I'll be there. I'm emceeing it. We're we, Drew. I think it's gonna be a lot of fun. And you and I will pick as well, and Ryan, and we'll see if our picks hold up against theirs.
Drew
It's a good idea because we need something to do this. This is weird being middle of February. We have all this basketball assignment excitement. We have a bow week. So I'm glad. This will give all of us, ksr, bbn, something to pay attention to and get together while we have this unique pause in our basketball excitement.
Matt Jones
Yeah. Thanks to Cornbread Hemp for doing it. And Ryan, I'm ready to rock with it. I think this is gonna be really good. And people, you know, it's like, hey, why don't we do something fun? But you don't have to put your own money on the line. Free to enter. All you have to do is come to the bar and hang out and, you know, hopefully you buy things, but you don't have to. But you come, and it should be a good time.
Ryan
I love this idea. Yeah, it's like Drew said, perfect week to do it on. We kind of got a bye week this week, so let's have some fun.
Matt Jones
So you need to start researching the Wednesday games now.
Ryan
Okay.
Matt Jones
I'm on what the big Wednesday games are, but we'll be talking more about it as the week goes on. I'm looking forward to it. One person writes map. Ski jumpers start by landing in the water. That's how they begin their careers.
Shannon
That makes sense.
Ryan
Makes sense. Yeah.
Matt Jones
Is that true, though? That doesn't seem right. Why doesn't it ski into the ocean?
Shannon
Like, what are they, a lake? Yeah.
Ryan
Yeah.
Matt Jones
I thought I said I would think when your ski hits the water, you'd have a chance of, like, your leg kick. Like, I. It feels like to me, that would be dangerous.
Shannon
Never heard of water skiing?
Matt Jones
Yeah, but you're not coming from above and landing. I mean, I don't know. I mean, if they say that's what happens, then that's what happens.
Shannon
The skis maybe would pull you under to have a life jacket on.
Matt Jones
I think the ski would hit and then, like, skid and maybe, like, tear your leg. I don't know.
Ryan
Well, they had. They have water ski jumping where those Guys jump off the ramp.
Matt Jones
Maybe that's the same. I don't know. I. I've. No. Oh, so you're saying you think, Ryan, they. They land and then ski forward?
Ryan
Yeah, I think that's probably what they did.
Matt Jones
See, I was thinking they just dropped.
Shannon
For the first time. You probably did.
Sponsor/Ad Voice
Yeah.
Matt Jones
You think that's how you do it?
Drew
I mean, whoever submitted that already knows more than me if they know anything. But it seems unlikely to me that it would be water.
Matt Jones
Yeah. If you don't do anything else this week, go on Peacock and watch the men's or women's downhill with those drones. I'm telling you, it'll blow your mind.
Drew
It looks like if they were to get off by an inch, they would disappear into the woods, and we would never see them again. Yeah, I mean, they would just fly off the side of the screen to be never heard from.
Matt Jones
And I also like these sports, Shannon, because I become an expert really quick.
Shannon
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Matt Jones
You know, I don't have to know anything about it, but then the moment I'm like, see, she went too far. She went to. To wide. Oh, that jump not. Didn't handle. You know, I act like I know what's going on immediately.
Shannon
Yeah, I don't have a clue when it comes to any of these Olympic.
Matt Jones
Sports, but that's good. But you start to learn.
Shannon
I think Bob's letting would be, like, maybe the easiest because you're in there with other people and you just have.
Matt Jones
The heart, but as the American show, the heart is getting in the box.
Shannon
You got to get in it.
Sponsor/Ad Voice
That's.
Ryan
That's.
Shannon
Yeah, that's true. You got to get in there first. Once you're in there, I feel like you could. You know, it'd be the easiest thing you can do.
Matt Jones
I would think only the guy in front drives. Like, if you're like, third, you're just.
Shannon
Shifting your weight from there. Yeah.
Matt Jones
Yeah. All right, so super bowl was last night. Let's talk about some super dope super bowl stuff. First of all, Ryan game. Yeah. Kind of boring, right? The game was not one of the. Not a very exciting Super Bowl.
Ryan
I guess maybe some football purists like the defensive struggle back and forth, but it was kind of boring to watch.
Matt Jones
Not the Patriots. Glad the Seahawks won. Drake May was awful, which makes me happy because I don't like the Patriots specifically because of Bill Simmons and Drew. I was very glad to see them get destroyed.
Ryan
Yeah.
Drew
It's cool that Seattle has such a great defense and won them the game, but when one of the teams still hasn't scored in the fourth quarter. It's not the most exciting product for everyone watching at home, but it was a dominant performance. It'll just happen to be one of the most forgettable Super Bowls for me.
Matt Jones
It really will. That'll be a Super bowl that, like. We'll never talk about that super bowl again. I mean, unless you're a Seahawks fan, Ryan, why would you ever care about it again?
Ryan
Nothing memorable at all. From the game. Not at all. Yeah, from the game itself.
Matt Jones
Halftime show. The good thing, Shannon. No controversy. Right?
Shannon
Nobody liked it.
Matt Jones
Everybody agreed on it. Everyone agreed that they were a fan.
Ryan
Matt. So mad at you. I mean, I am really mad at you.
Matt Jones
I asked people what they were thinking. I thought you would want to know what people were thinking.
Drew
No.
Ryan
I don't know why you tagged me in that tweet. To send their thoughts.
Matt Jones
I thought you would want to know. You want to have a perfect. Maybe more people should tell you what they think now.
Shannon
Now that they've had some time to.
Matt Jones
Observe, now they've had to Some time to reflect, they can tell you what they think.
Ryan
I was so mad at you.
Sponsor/Ad Voice
Like, look what he did.
Ryan
Look. Well, look exactly what he did. I got all this stuff coming in. I couldn't even follow with anything else. Was just one after the other, people griping about the halftime show.
Matt Jones
All right, so here's my take on the halftime show. If you. Why does it. I will never understand, Shannon, why it makes people so mad. If you don't like it, that's okay, right? Like, it's not. Doesn't have to be for you. I thought it was cool. Now, I don't understand Spanish, so I didn't know what he was saying, but I thought the visuals were kind of cool. I. I like the. The fact that the couple got married. Did you see? They got married?
Shannon
That was a real wedding. That was real.
Matt Jones
That was a real wedding. So apparently this couple wrote bad bunny and said, hey, would you. We want you to come to our wedding. Like, kind of as a. Like, you know, like asking, I don't know, Tiger woods to come to your wedding. Right? Yeah, he didn't. But then he invited him. Them to get married at the Super Bowl.
Ryan
I thought that was kind of cool. I thought.
Matt Jones
So that was a real wedding.
Ryan
Yeah, it was.
Matt Jones
Do you think your wives, past or present or future, would have wanted to get married at. Not. Not at the football game, but, like, during the super bowl halftime show? Do you think that's a cool way to get Married.
Shannon
It'd be cool for me. Wouldn't be cool for, like, anybody else.
Drew
Cool for the dude.
Ryan
No doubt about it. I mean, you're the first one to ever do something like that.
Matt Jones
What if your wife was a bad bunny fan? Because clearly she wasn't. She wouldn't have invited him to the wedding. So, like, think about it. Who's Abby's favorite musical artist? Drew.
Drew
It varies. I will say she listens to a lot of ksr. Actually, maybe something halftime. I'll say right now she listens to a lot of Noah Khan.
Matt Jones
Okay, so Noah Khan says, I'm performing the halftime show. Drew and Abby, would you like to get married at the halftime show? Do you think she would agree?
Drew
I actually thought about this last night. I think she would for the experience. She's like, me. Like, what? Yeah. Who would get to do this? We should do it. But we would need our own separate ceremony with friends and family. Like, that couldn't be the one ceremony where we're. We're there for two seconds, and Noah Khan walks by, and then we kiss. And that was the wedding.
Matt Jones
But I think she would do it.
Drew
Yeah, I think she would be up for it. But we would probably have a. Another one, too. But I think she would do it.
Ryan
Yeah.
Matt Jones
So for me, I didn't know it.
Ryan
Was a real wedding at the time. I didn't find out till after the fact. That was a real wedding. Yeah.
Matt Jones
And they were Puerto Rican, so. So for me, like, if they did a Kentucky Super Bowl. Shannon.
Shannon
Yeah.
Matt Jones
Right?
Shannon
Yeah.
Matt Jones
Tyler Childers, Chris Stapleton, Sturgill Simpson, I.
Shannon
Know you'd be down to get married to that.
Matt Jones
And they said, we're celebrating. We're having all these Kentuckians out on the field. Right. So everybody out there is a Kentucky, which, by the way, is kind of what happened just with Puerto Rico. And you can get married at the thing. I'm very anti public, like, that kind of stuff when it comes to dating or whatever. Shannon. I think I might do it. Celebration. Yeah. But I feel like I could find one.
Shannon
That's all you need is one you don't need.
Drew
You just.
Shannon
I don't need 10.
Matt Jones
Yeah. But if it's like a celebration of Kentucky and you can get married, I actually think that's kind of cool.
Drew
I think if you're on at the super bowl, you got to find a way to get your registry on the screen to get gifts. I need Billy's digital registry card to put on the screen. So I benefit from all the eyeballs on our wedding.
Matt Jones
They had all those trees, hedges out there. Right. They were creating the look of, like, a farm. And there were. Those hedges were actually people.
Ryan
Yes.
Matt Jones
Would you, Ryan, want to be one of the people that is a hedge for the Super Bowl. But you see, people won't get to see your face.
Ryan
If I was, the only way I was gonna get on the field to be a part of it. Absolutely. For one time, for the experience, I would have dressed up like a shrub and hobble right out there. No doubt about it.
Matt Jones
I know Ryan would do it. Shannon, would you do it?
Shannon
I wasn't going to say this, but I actually was one of the hedges out there last night. Wasn't going to tell you.
Matt Jones
Oh, are you? Yeah, I guess there's no way for me to prove.
Shannon
You can't prove that was. And I was actually there last night. Flew right back this morning.
Matt Jones
Yeah. All right, Drew.
Drew
Absolutely. Whatever you need me to do. If I get to be part of the super bowl halftime show. Oh, you need me to be a light pole and have random people climb up and dance on me? Sure, Whatever. To be a part of it. I'll be a brush. Whatever you need.
Shannon
Yeah.
Matt Jones
Yeah. I think that would be. I think that would actually be an amazing story. So I liked it. I know a lot of people got mad. Billy turned on the Turning Point. USA. One on his phone heard just to. Just. Just to frustrate me. So they were right. So it was on the regular screen, the super bowl, like, halftime. And then Billy had had it on his phone. I think the regular one had a little higher production value. You people think I made up, Drew, stand up for me. People think I made up that the hotel or that the airport bar clapped when it was over.
Drew
They did. They absolutely did.
Matt Jones
They did. I was surprised, but they did.
Drew
We had a little super bowl party in there. Had sound on everything.
Matt Jones
We had sound on. And they and Ryan, they, like, half the bar kind of burst into applause when it was over.
Drew
There was one group of three or four people that were very excited, like, counting down before it even began.
Matt Jones
Yeah, they were into it, but overall, yeah, that wasn't.
Drew
It wasn't the whole bar, but I'd say half of the people clapped, went on Facebook.
Matt Jones
Seemed like nobody wanted to share their opinion.
Ryan
Really? Yeah.
Matt Jones
No, a lot of people wanted to share their opinion.
Ryan
I don't.
Matt Jones
People getting so upset. I just remember that when I used to get upset about things, like in 2016, 2017, I had a lot of people that would say to me, shannon Snowflake. Mm. I mean, I'm not gonna say snowflake now, but maybe a little snowflakey if you're upset about it.
Shannon
Right. I don't think anybody really cares what your opinion is or anybody else.
Matt Jones
Yeah, that's exactly right. Commercials. I didn't get to see all of them, but it did seem like, to me, Ryan, kind of a letdown on commercials. I thought the Dunkin Donuts one, yeah.
Ryan
That was a good one.
Matt Jones
People from the 90s TV shows, I like that. But the rest of them, I thought kind of maybe it's. Maybe we're just past super bowl commercials now, is it? Just not. Did you like.
Shannon
Did you like the Budweiser one, though, with the eagle? That was very American. The eagle flying up the back of Clydesdale. It was a Budweiser commercial. And there's this Clydesdale and this little bird, and it shows. Time goes on, it grows up, and then it looks like this Clydesdale has wings, but it's actually the bald eagle grown up flying off the back of the horse. It was good Free Bird playing in the background.
Matt Jones
Oh, no. Free Bird was.
Shannon
Yeah, it was Leonard Skynyrd playing in the background.
Matt Jones
It sounds good. I didn't see that one, but, yeah, overall, kind of a forgettable Super Bowl. But what were you gonna say, Ryan?
Ryan
There were a couple Backstreet Boys commercials. One, they were actually in the commercial.
Matt Jones
Boys.
Ryan
Backstreet Boys.
Matt Jones
Okay.
Ryan
The other one was like a karaoke commercial to a Backstreet Boys song.
Matt Jones
I heard there were. The Backstreet Boys got on two different commercials. They must be cashing those checks. They must say that they're. They're ready to get some money. I would think.
Drew
Yeah. Good for them. I mean, they're selling out the sphere in Vegas. Not one, but two super bowl commercials. I thought the best super bowl commercial was done here locally with our.
Ryan
Our friend.
Matt Jones
That was great. With Lightner. Yeah, with Lightner.
Drew
That's a pretty good get to go and get Lightner.
Matt Jones
Even though, hey, UK Federal credit unions for all y'. All. But maybe not Christian, like, except you.
Ryan
Great commercial. Epic films. Put that together.
Matt Jones
I did get bumped for Maria Montgomery on that one. Shannon, I've been saying for all y' all for a while.
Shannon
Yeah.
Matt Jones
But I will say I can understand why. I understand picking Maria Montgomery. I. I get that as a pick, so. Good stuff. How much you think that Duncan commercial cost with all those celebrities in it who always had.
Shannon
He had Urkel. You had Jennifer Aniston, Ben Affleck. Yeah, yeah.
Matt Jones
George Costanza from Seinfeld.
Ryan
The girl, Alberto Ranzo, whatever from Fresh.
Matt Jones
Prince and the girl from Different World. She the last two probably didn't cost as much. But so but Jennifer Aniston, Ben Affleck, that had to cost a lot of money. So tell me about Stockton Mortgage.
Ryan
Stockton Mortgage. You know, it's the spring buying season is coming up and it's always a hot time to buy. A lot of listings hitting the market right now. So you want to be prepared. You want to get that pre approval letter in your hand so when you go out looking at houses, you can make an offer. Don't have to wait on anything. So go start the process now. If you're thinking about buying this spring or this summer, go ahead and get hooked up with the Stockton mortgage loan officer. I just referred to a buyer to a Stockton mortgage loan officer last week so they can work with you. It's kind of a hassle to get through the loan operating process, but if you start now, you'll be ready when the spring buying season hits. You're ready to get that house when it hits the market. So go to their website, stockton.com nmls8259 equal housing lender I heard Billy did one when you're on your trip. He did a great job, by the way. Billy did a great job filling in.
Matt Jones

Matt Jones
I completely agree with that.
Julian Edelman
They also have daisy ranch dip. I love ranch dip.
Matt Jones
That's great.
Julian Edelman
I love it. With crackers, wings, plain potato chip. The ones with the little crinkles, maybe some bell peppers. So get out there and give Daisy French onion dip a try. You will not regret it.

Welcome back. This is the only kid rock song that I can take. Like, this one's all right.
Ryan
You don't like.
Matt Jones
I will say, well, when he says, well, no, that's a good song. When he sings with Cheryl Crow. Yeah, that's a good picture. Yeah, but they didn't sing that one, did they? I don't know.
Shannon
I didn't. I didn't watch. I kind of scrolled through it quickly just to see what was going on. But, yeah, I didn't really.
Matt Jones
One person writes on the text machine. 772-774. 254. Matt, why would it. If you don't think people should get upset about bad bunny, why would it make you upset about the other one? It didn't make me upset. I just knew Billy was trying to annoy me. Drew. Like, that's what it was. So we watched it. My biggest problem with the other one, that I'm fine. They did it. I just hate that kind of music. I've been very consistent that I hate new country, and it looked like it was all new country, and I hate that kind of music. I think new country is the worst music on earth. So that's. That's my only. But if they want to do it, fine. I'm. I'm okay.
Shannon
You think it becomes a thing now, like, where every year?
Matt Jones
I hope not, but it might. It might. I don't. I. I think it made people mad because he was from. Because he was from Puerto Rico, and it was in Spanish. That's what makes people mad. But what I would say is. Remember what I just said? If there was a Kentucky Super Bowl. All right, let's say they had Tyler Childer, Sturgill Simpson, Chris Staples, Ryan. Would we not think that's the coolest thing in the world?
Ryan
Of course we would. We'd love every second.
Matt Jones
We'd love it. We'd love it. Well, Puerto Rico's part of the United States.
Ryan
Yep.
Matt Jones
So that's what they did. And unless you'd be mad if we did a Kentucky one, then how you gonna get mad about this? You're just looking for a reason to be mad. If you want to watch the other one. No, that's fine. We watched them both, apparently, Drew, because of Billy.
Drew
I just like that the people like talking about how American it was as he sings about the midnight glancers and the topless dancers. And they're saying, we don't understand Bad Bunny as they're watching ball with da ball da bang da bang boogie. Like, just saying, I don't like the argument of. Well, this is.
Matt Jones
This is funny.
Drew
He's singing about crackheads and methadone clinics and saying ball with the ball. It's not like he's our founding fathers over there singing towards the flag either.
Matt Jones
There's a lot of people, Shannon, that had to act like they liked that music last night. And there's a lot of people who wanted to like the Bad Bunny who also probably don't like it. Okay, but do you think they should have had subtitles? Shannon, that was a conversation. So since. Because people don't know span. I mean, I could. I can see the argument.
Shannon
I mean, is that going to make it any better for you that you know what he's saying?
Matt Jones
Not really.
Shannon
I mean, because you don't. You probably don't like the music. You don't like the music. You know, it ain't necessarily what he's saying.
Ryan
Had a little Lady Gaga and Ricky Martin they made.
Matt Jones
And Alex Earl was up there, which I thought was strange.
Drew
And Cardi B. Cardi B made an appearance.

Apparently, news stations in North Carolina had a camera on the entire crowd and they see. No, they don't see anyone getting punched. Which has led some people to say John Shire made it up. What do you think? He wouldn't have made that up.
Drew
Woody, we've had more than, well, two days now to produce the tape. You know, in this world about everything's on video, especially in a college basketball arena. So I'd say, John, I'm not sure I'm believing you if at this point we still have no video evidence of this. Because that would come out if someone punched a coach in the Duke, North Carolina, Carolina game.
Matt Jones
For the record, I said it, Ryan, the first. The moment he said that, I was like, I don't believe that happened. I mean, if somebody had gotten punched, that dude would have gotten arrested, Right? If they had, immediately he said his staff member got punched in the face. I just don't. I don't believe that now. Court storming. I'm for court storming. You could make an argument that North Carolina, those too good to court storm. Okay. But they did beat Duke at the bottom buzzer. So if North Carolina is going to ever court storm, this would be the time to do it. Now, I. It would bother me maybe a little if Kentucky court stormed. So I can see people saying North Carolina shouldn't court storm. But Ryan, in general, if you beat Duke at the buzzer on your home floor, I am fine with court storming. I think it's part of what makes college basketball great.
Ryan
I love it. And I'm with you, though. Is it Dean Dome? Does it fit in one of those categories like Allen, Fieldhouse and Rupping where you not. You don't.
Matt Jones
Maybe, maybe. But also, I mean, if Kentucky was playing Duke in RUP and we hit a three at the buzzer to win, Shannon, would you get mad if the kids stormed? Because it was all college kids that storm. I don't know if it's again, Duke at the buzz.
Shannon
Plus, I won't get mad about it, but I kind of feel like, come on, you're better than that. You're Kentucky. You don't ever storm the court at Rupp arena ever.
Matt Jones
But I mean, what are you gonna do? You're gonna be the hall monitor out there looking at the.
Shannon
No, no, no. It doesn't make me mad at all. I just don't think you do that as a fan base. But if you do it, I'm not gonna, like, cry about it. I just think that you do it.
Drew
I'd still. I like saying we don't do that here. I mean, I'm with Shannon. If I'm there and the eruption zone runs on the court, I'm not going to be screaming, get out of here, kids. But I hope he never does that.
Ryan
I'm glad to hear you guys say that because I'm the old man. I thought I'm against it. I don't think you ever stormed the court at Rupping. No matter what the situation, you're expected to win every game.
Drew
I wanted them to get a technical. I wanted chaos.
Matt Jones
I'm against it. If you ask me in the abstract, am I against it? I'm against it. But I also would say in that moment, man, like, like, like Mario's for it. Mario's completely for it. I can understand, Ryan, in that moment, how you'd get so swept up in it. You beat Duke at the buzzer.
Ryan
Well, let's just say, for example, Colin Chandler shot was at the buzzer to cap off the comeback against Tennessee.
Matt Jones
Definitely not against Tennessee. Okay, Because. Because we're better than Tennessee. But if you were playing a team Kentucky and Duke are the two greatest programs in history, along with North Carolina. I can see how it could happen. I don't think it should, but I could see how it does in that scenario. And I don't think a guy got punched. I got to see a video because I have a hard time believing that. I think Shire made that up. We'll take a break. Be right back. Ksr, TJ Smith, personal injury attorney. Call tj. He'll make him pay.
Shannon
Now more of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage. Here's Matt Jones.
Matt Jones
He didn't play the one song of his. I know, though, Shannon.
Shannon
Which one's that?
Matt Jones
That Cambra Holla. Like that one?
Ryan
How's it going in now?
Matt Jones
It goes. That one?
Ryan
Yeah.
Matt Jones
You should play that one next.
Shannon
Okay, well, how would I find that one?
Matt Jones
It's called Cabrera.
Shannon
Okay. Cabrera.
Matt Jones
C A M Brera. That one. That's how you do.
Shannon
Okay. It doesn't look like that one's in the system.
Matt Jones
Cambria's got to be in there. He used it for. He uses it for his WWE entrance.
Shannon
It's not here, but I can find. I can find it on YouTube.
Matt Jones
You can find it? You can find it. 859280, 2287 Text Machine. 772-774-5254. One person writes, Matt, I wasn't mad about the super bowl show, but I didn't watch it because I don't like Bad Bunny stance on some political issues. All right? But, like, if that's. If that was my standard Shannon, I wouldn't get to listen to any of the country music I like.
Shannon
Well, you would have to find out everybody that you listen to. Okay, now, where do you stand on this?
Matt Jones
I mean, my guess is Travis Trent and Toby Keith and George Strait don't agree with me. But I. When I hear. I smell T, R O U, B, L, E. I mean, yeah, right. I don't care. Yeah. I mean, Toby Keith's one of my favorite artists, and I know he didn't agree with me, but I love it. I love all his songs.
Shannon
So you can't apply that to everything.
Matt Jones
If you apply that to everything in life. If you apply that to everything in life, you're not listening. Now, a lot of you. Right, Right. I don't understand that mindset, at least to me. One person writes, Matt, 20,000 monks is what usually Dean Dome sounds like. I think it's cool they actually did something fun.
Ryan
True. We've been there. It's not a very exciting arena for a basketball game. But I just think it's one of the few that you just don't do that. You just don't rush to court on a home win.
Matt Jones
All right, we need to talk about one thing before we go to the phones. Drew, what's up? We got to talk about Billy and how close he posed in the pictures with the football players. Oh, yes, yes, yes. Have you made fun of him?
Drew
What is this?
Matt Jones
All right, so after every time we would interview somebody or most of them, we'd take a picture. And I posted one of the pictures today on the as a thing for the show. I think that's Denzel Ward from the Cleveland Browns. Then I posted a pit. We posted a picture earlier of Christian Watson with the Green Bay Packers. You know, Drew and I like, there's two different ways to do pictures. Everybody puts their arms around each other. Right. That's one way. But see, we don't know these football players, so I can't. I didn't feel like I could just bro hug Denzel Ward, Billy. Our sports did. Go look at those pictures and look at the distance between me and Drew. Drew and Billy. And then look how close Billy is to the picture. Billy is like Christian Watson and Billy look like they're dating.
Drew
That's the one. That's the best one. Yeah. They're holding each other, and me and you're on, like, a different part of the stage. We're not even near them.
Matt Jones
He. Billy takes Christian Watson over, away from us. He's mine.
Shannon
He wants to be close to him.
Matt Jones
He wants to be up in him.
Shannon
Yeah.
Matt Jones
I like Billy's desire to get as close to these players as possible. I will say they're going to put a bonus episode of COVID Zero out this week with our interviews with the secondary players. And I was kind of surprised, Drew, how easy that worked. We thought we'd have nothing to say to him, and it actually kind of worked out.
Drew
Yeah. I won't say we were dreading those. We're excited for everybody, but we knew them the least. And objectively, they weren't the biggest names compared to what we had on day one, but they ended up being hilarious. And I know we have a lot of Bengals fans. The Orlando Brown Jr. Interview. Go listen to that. He talks about Joe Burrow gifting on fossils and what burrows like behind the scenes. And they get. Even though he was talking about the Bengals, he gets way outside of football and very funny. I highly recommend everyone catch that one. If you like Cincinnati, that's going to.
Matt Jones
Come out later in the week. And if you're a Bengals fan, our interview with Orlando Brown, you're gonna love. Because he's all about. We talk about the city of Cincinnati and all that. Drew's being nice and saying we weren't as excited. Ryan. I didn't know who any of these people were until they sat down, except Denzel Ward. I had a card with some facts about them, and then I just had to. We just had to figure out what we were going to say, and I ended up liking all of them. Them. Media row, I would say, you know, I'm.
Ryan
I'm.
Matt Jones
I'm kind of a political dork, so. I enjoyed the conventions, the Republican and Democrat convention. I really enjoyed that. But this might have been the coolest thing we've gotten to do. I loved it. It was so awesome to walk around and just see all of these people and all of these shows and, like, every single thing since I was. Like, these people I've been listening to or watching since I was a child, and they're right there, and they're doing the show right next to you. And Friday, I know we were a little giddy, but we're next to the NFL Network set, Ryan. And there's just hall of Famer after hall of Famer coming within feet of us. And it was. I mean, I don't get starstruck, but I got a little starstruck, I think, just because of the amount and the way it happened. And there was a moment where I just sit there and go, I can't believe we're here.
Ryan
I would have been the same way.
Matt Jones
I can't believe we're here. This hobby that we started 20 years ago, we are sitting here working for the NFL. Are you kidding me? That's crazy. And I had a lot of that this weekend. It was awesome.
Ryan
Well, you look up, there's Bo Jackson and Barry Sanders, even Kelvin Gemstone, that one day you were hanging out with him. I mean, you would get starstruck. And also, I'll say this for you guys, for every Denzel Ward interview you did, you killed it with guys like Stevie Johnson. There was a. You know, there was some really great stuff you guys put out and made.
Matt Jones
It very good, actually. I'm telling you, when you listen to it, you'd be surprised. And I also thought it was neat, Shannon, to hear all these people in the industry, like, who knew us?
Shannon
Yeah.
Matt Jones
Like, who knew our success? Or listen to me and Myron on Sunday mornings or listen to me and Drew and Billy. I just. It was awesome. That was. It'll never. You know, it's never like, your first time, the next time. So I probably. It'll. Next time, we'll know what to expect.
Shannon
You'll be all jaded like Billy.
Matt Jones
I'm not gonna be jade now. Billy. Billy was in. Dude. Billy was like. It was his dream. Billy was in heaven.
Shannon
I am seeing this picture with Christian Watson for the first time right now. Watson and Billy look to be conjoined twins in this picture, like Billy's right arm is. I don't know where it's at.
Matt Jones
They look like. They look like they're going to prom. Why did Billy get so close to Christian Watts? I don't know.
Drew
And Christian Watson is the one that had just roasted Billy the most.
Matt Jones
Yeah, I mean, he. For his quarter quarters.
Shannon
Think he felt a connection to him.
Matt Jones
Yes. Now, quickly, Drew, before we go to the phones. I don't know if you know this, Shannon. Drew is basically like a part of Puerto Rico now.
Drew
I'm big in Latin America.
Matt Jones
I'll give the real quick setup, and then he can tell you specifics.
Drew
We.
Matt Jones
We each had to go somewhere, and Drew gets left there for a minute because he wants to meet. Who did you want to meet? You wanted to meet a coon?
Drew
My. My young son Ronald Acuna from the Braves. You know, Shannon, you would have waited with me. They said he's. They said he's 15 minutes away. I'm like, I got 15. 15 minutes.
Matt Jones
He stays by himself. Long story short, Ronald Acuna shows up, along with this Puerto Rican boxer and whoever the NFL was going to have interview him doesn't show up. So the NFL is scrambling, and they just look at Drew and go, will you interview him? We need somebody to interview them. And then I'll let Drew take it from there.
Drew
They were freaking out. I guess there was some big partnership that had just been announced. They're bringing in. It's this. They're called. It's an agency. Remus, I believe, is the agency name. And they have all these stars. This boxer is like, the next big thing. And they're all so excited, but then they realize there's no one here to actually talk to these people. So they asked me, and I'm like, sure. Who is that boxer that doesn't speak English? I don't know him. I don't know his name. I don't know if he's won anything. And there's no time. There's, like, he's sitting there looking at me, waiting to start the interview, and I'm like, whatever. What's his name Xander?
Matt Jones
What?
Drew
Sure, I'll sit down and do it. He actually. He was great. I was not prepared at all, but it went well. And then as soon as he gets up, there's my man Ronald waiting. And Ronald sits down, and I have no time to process. I'm like, I am interviewing my favorite baseball player right now. He had a translator sit down. And I asked the translator. I'm like, do I ask you the questions? To ask him the questions? And then Ronald shrugs off the translator. He's like, just us. And I was like, oh, my God, this is. This is too much. But it ended up being great. It went well. And when I got done, everyone was thanking me, like I'd saved the whole company.
Matt Jones
No, he saved the NFL.
Shannon
Wow.
Matt Jones
I mean, there's more to this than this, Shannon. The NFL had announced a partnership the day before with Bad Bunny. Okay? The NFL and I Heart Radio. So this was supposed to be their interviews to start the partnership. And whoever was supposed to do it didn't show up.
Ryan
Wow.
Shannon
Who's that jerk? Didn't show up.
Matt Jones
Essentially save the company.
Ryan
Better Boy.
Drew
And all the guys that brought the stars. It's Bad Bunny's agency. And I was hanging out with them, waiting. And then they love me because I did the interviews. I think I could have been a shrub last night in the halftime show if I wanted to. I saw them again. Remember, we were leaving the hotel, and.
Matt Jones
I saw the guy with the. All these Puerto Rican dudes just start hugging Drew. Like, they're like, I'm surprised he was not in the halftime show. The boxer. He interviewed Shannon. You know, on the halftime show, there were two guys boxing.
Shannon
Yeah.
Matt Jones
One of them's the guy Drew interviewed.
Shannon
He really.
Matt Jones
They were like.
Drew
When I got done, the people at the NFL were like, you have no idea who you just interviewed, but he's the next great. He's already shattering, like, Mayweather records. He's the youngest to win this and that. So they're like, you're gonna. One day, you'll appreciate this more than. Than you do, and you'll have this video. And I'm like, cool. Ronald Acuna was here. I'm freaking out.
Matt Jones
One more thing. Billy almost got in a fight with Jamel Hill.
Shannon
That wouldn't have gone well for Billy.
Matt Jones
Billy off in line. Like, she's in line. Billy just cuts in front of her. Mr. Privilege himself. Billy just cuts right in front of her. And she. What did she say to him?
Drew
I was standing next to Billy. I did not cut the line. I went up to check on Billy is when we were leaving the hotel and I heard a woman go, excuse me, sir, there is a line and point to the back. And I turned and I was like, oh, boy, that's Jamel Hill. All right, Billy, you're on your own, bud.
Matt Jones
Billy turned yellow. Like, Billy was like, where's Christian Watson when I need him right now?
Shannon
Billy turned into a Simpson.
Matt Jones
Yes, he did turn into a Simpson. He was like, where is my boy Christian to save me.
Shannon
Well, he's got that quarter zip privilege.
Matt Jones
Yeah, it's exactly quarter sip privilege.
Drew
Right?
Matt Jones

Julian Edelman
This is Julian Edelman from Games with Names. Now let's get into the serious stuff. We're talking football food, specifically Daisy French onion dip.
Matt Jones
That is serious.
Julian Edelman
Gotta try these delicious new dips from Daisy. These are so delicious. They're like homemade dips made with real herb and spices and other ingredients you'll find in your kitchen. Also made with some Daisy sour cream. Daisy sour cream is a long standing staple for taco Tuesday.
Sponsor/Ad Voice
You know what I do when I.
Matt Jones
Get my street burrito? I get the squirt Daisy. Yeah. And every bite, right? I know you.
Ryan
I know you.
Julian Edelman
I'm a huge sour cream guy. I love sour cream. So I think burritos can't live without sour cream.
Matt Jones
I completely agree with that.
Julian Edelman
They also have daisy ranch dip. I love ranch dip.
Matt Jones
It was great.
Julian Edelman
I love it with crackers, wings, plain potato chip, the ones with the little crinkles, maybe some bell peppers. So get out there and give Daisy French onion dip a try. You will not regret it.
Drew
We're lost.
Matt Jones
I'm going to pull over and ask that man for directions.
Ryan
Hi there.
Matt Jones
We're looking to get to the campground. Well, you're gonna take a left at the old oak tree.

Matt Jones
I said, chumbaya, holla.
Ryan
Sounds just like he. Man, it's great.
Matt Jones
You just don't like my performance. Don't get mad just because my performance isn't your kind of thing. Shannon. I still have the exact.
Shannon
I'm going to flip it over to the Turning Point halftime show.
Matt Jones
If I perform this. Yeah.
Shannon
I won't be your shrub.
Matt Jones
One person writes, I love that Drew saved the NFL. I didn't know when I was watching the super bowl that if it wasn't for Drew, it would not have happened. Correct.
Drew
Exactly. Certainly not a halftime show or any international flair with my new friends from Latin America.
Matt Jones
I mean, they loved it. One person writes, Matt, we didn't hear much about you all going to the parties. What was it like? Parties were awesome most of the time, Ryan. I had to. Drew and I had to play parents to keep Billy and Mario from acting a fool. I did feel like I was there. Drew and I did feel like we were like their uncles trying to keep them from acting silly.
Ryan
You can see what ludicrous.
Matt Jones
They literally fell asleep in the car on the way back with their heads next to each other like two children. I have a picture. I have a picture.
Shannon
Oh, I gotta see this.
Matt Jones
I'm not tweeting it out because I don't want to embarrass them.
Shannon
Well, send it to me and I'll tweet it out.
Matt Jones
I know you're not tweeting it out. There's a picture of the two of them asleep in the backseat of the Uber with their heads leaning up against each like twinsies. Yes.
Drew
I had to lecture them Saturday night. You know, Matt had to leave a little early because he had to get up early for espn. The rest of us got to sleep in, and I pulled both them aside. I said, I will stay here with you. I will pay for the Uber. I don't care what the Uber costs. But you all cannot be stumbling out of here looking for this Uber. You have to be collective. I'm not babysitting. It's like, I will get us home. If you all are coherent, I will leave you here. Yeah.
Ryan
Yeah.
Shannon
Practicing.
Drew
I pulled them both aside. I was like, have fun. I'm not being dad here, but I'm not carrying you all out of here, so keep it together long enough to get an Uber.
Matt Jones
This used to be the conversation I had with Drew when we were traveling around the country. I'm not carrying you home. You do it. And now Drew Shannon is having to do it back to them.
Shannon
Drew, the dad. Like I said, he's practicing. He's about to be a dad in real life. This is good practice for you.
Matt Jones
The best thing, Ryan, is as the night goes on, Billy's hair gets bigger. Okay? Billy's hair. Billy's hair goes higher and higher and higher, and that's how you know things are. Are going. Also, Mario gets bolder. He tries to sneak into all the VIP sections. He sees Travis Kelsey. He tries to jump the fence and get in. Like he. Mario is going to get us in trouble because Mario's just. And then he'll act like he'll go, hey, watch this. I'm gonna go over where Justin Bieber is. And then he'll walk, and he'll get stopped. And he's like, oh, I can't be here. I didn't realize that.
Shannon
There's your credential.
Drew
Y. Matt, we gotta tell my favorite Mario and Billy story from Friday night.
Matt Jones
Yes.
Drew
How Four of us walk into a dark building. Two of us are wearing sunglasses. All right, so you have two people in sunglasses. Two people not in sunglasses. Which two do you think got lost in the dark building?
Shannon
The two in sunglasses.
Ryan
Imagine that.
Matt Jones
We're walking into a dark building. You don't need sunglasses. Shannon, you don't need sunglasses. Billy and Mario both wearing sunglasses. So we're supposed to walk the red carpet. I don't know why, but we are. They walk off, and they're lost. Completely lost. And I asked why? And they go, well, we had our sunglasses on. Maybe you take them off. We're in a dark building. But they. That was part of their vibe, Brian. They wanted to have their sunglasses on.
Drew
So excited and missed. Probably the thing he was looking forward to the most.
Matt Jones
They turn into children when we go in these. They really do do. Billy is 31 years old, and he became. He just goes down to Mario's age the moment we walk in.
Drew
They were the blind leading the blind. Trying to walk in with those sunglasses on my.
Matt Jones
But I did have fun. Who's up next?
Shannon
Jay and London.
Matt Jones
Jay and Lyndon. Go ahead. Hey, Matt, two quick things. First. We're a year and a half into to coach Pope. We've had this great turnaround. We've had these crazy amount of injuries. We've questioned the roster management, and then we're worried about the lack of players next year. How do we fairly assess what he's done so far? I don't know. I think it's going to be really interesting at the end of the year to kind of grade the year for Pope. I Think a lot of it's going to be what happens in the tournament and you know, we got seven tough games coming. It's a, it's, I think I gave him like a D for the first half of the year. If I were to grade him through today for the sec, I think I'd probably give him like a B plus for the sec. So we'll see how it all plays out. Jay. But I'm with you. It's going to be really hard to grade this year because, because clearly they didn't necessarily do a great job with the roster. But he has made the best of it these last few weeks. I am the other thing. Ron was supposed to lay off the Crinoch. Did you hear the post game show when he talked to the couple that had just gotten married? I did not. I did, however, hear Jay. Someone wrote me and I, I saw this when I got up Sunday morning and they said, for your sanity, don't listen to the end of the post. I'm not going to do it. I appreciate the call. I don't even want to know what you did, Ryan. But I woke up to multiple messages of don't listen to Ryan's end of postgame show on Saturday night. So I don't even. I don't know what happened, Ryan, but I'm not going to listen to it so that I stay joyous.
Ryan
I won't relive it. But I'll just tell you there was. Stoney just got married Saturday before the game and after they got married they went home to watch the game together. That was, that was really. They were just celebrating their life.
Matt Jones
I know what, where that goes after that. Shannon. I think I know the kind of thing he would have said. DraftKings bet 5. You can win up to $300 in bonus bets as we move to basketball season. Big matchup tonight. Top 10. Number one, Arizona, undefeated goes to Kansas. This is probably their best chance to lose before the tournament. Who you got?
Ryan
Ryan Peterson plays Kansas wins. They can cover and win.
Matt Jones
Giving Drew this. This is one of the games of the year to me. Arizona at Kansas tonight, 9 o'. Clock. Who you got?
Drew
I'm going to say Arizona pulls off the stunner.
Matt Jones
Oh, you think they went in Fog.
Drew
Allen Field, slight edge to Arizona.
Shannon
All right, I agree with Drew. I think Arizona goes in and wins and stays undefeated.
Matt Jones
Kansas does not lose on Monday night at home.
Shannon
Not on Monday night.
Matt Jones
Well, because they always play this Monday night late game.
Shannon
Yeah.
Matt Jones
And it's usually Kansas and they find a way to win games. They have no business winning in this slot.
Shannon
Yeah, they were down nine with like a minute to go and then they won against tcu.
Matt Jones
That's they're going to win tonight. But I'm looking forward. This will be one of the great games of the season. Thank you all very much. We will see you tomorrow. This has been Kentucky Sports Radio.
Julian Edelman
This is Julian Edelman from Games With Names. Now let's get into the serious stuff. We're talking football food, specifically Daisy French Onion Dip. These are so delicious.
