Ryan
Fayette county back in school today. So back in school. Getting normal, I guess, around here a little bit.
Matt Jones
Yeah. Supposed to be what, 60 today?
Ryan
60 degrees.
Matt Jones
So they've been out of school for two weeks plus.
Malcolm Glabel
Right.
Ryan
Yeah.
Matt Jones
And now they're back back.
Ryan
But yet the streets are still a mess. So hopefully the. The sun today will at least be a slushy mess.
Matt Jones
My little street hasn't been touched. But I mean, I understand my street should be one of the last touched. I get it. But. But you know, the thing is, Drew, when you don't shovel your driveway, it stays.
Shannon
Yeah.
Matt Jones
So it's like a block of ice. And for people who don't know, it's. It's a hill. So, like, I just, I had to kind of. Well, I might have slid down.
Drew Franklin
That's the good thing. You can get out. It's just hard to get back up. Yeah, you can Always go down.
Matt Jones
Well, you can walk up the grass, but going down, everything was just ice this morning. So I just. I just sat down and.
Drew Franklin
Penguin your way down.
Matt Jones
What? I just sat down and slid down the bottom of the thing.
Ryan
Yeah, because you got your front door, but your car's in the back, and you got to go down a little hill to get to your car.
Matt Jones
There's nothing. There's no easy way to do it. But. But, I mean, the smart thing to have done would have been to shovel, but I didn't.
Ryan
You weren't here.
Shannon
I want to shovel, though. It's going to melt today. I was watching my neighbors yesterday, shoveling ice, and I'm going tomorrow. It's going to be 60 to be melted.
Matt Jones
See, now you're. You're thinking like me. One day of sliding on your butt makes up for three hours of shoveling. I think I'll choose the one day of sliding on my butt.
Drew Franklin
I'm glad it's 60 today, but what I have is not melting until April. We'll get. It'll get a little rundown, turn to some mush, but I'm gonna have ice for long. This is a picture of my sidewalk. What am I supposed to do with that? I can't even smile. That will be there in May, I think.
Matt Jones
Yeah. I went for a walk yesterday, and it's. You know, the sidewalks. It's. It's basically, you can see who's kind and who's not. It's. It's. And. And I don't want to talk about what my sidewalk looks like, but you get to see, like, as I walk down the sidewalk, a little clear stretch. I'll look at those people, and I'll say, well, God bless those people. And then the next one is. Is sheer ice. And so, you know, it is what it is. The. The city of Lexington really screwed this up. There's still fights now about who's. Well, I mean, I think everybody agrees it's the city's fault. I did. I see they got rid of the guy in charge of that.
Ryan
Oh, I don't know. Did they?
Matt Jones
I might be making that up, but I think I read that whoever was in charge of snow and ice, and to be fair, I don't know, that person might be a big KSR listener. And if so, I'm sure you're a good fella, but, like, you have one job. Like, in the summer, you're. You're good.
Drew Franklin
Yeah.
Matt Jones
In the summer, like, you can vacation, I would say pretty easily. So you're. You're performing for, like, a few days a year, and I think you failed. So I think I could understand if they lost their job.
Drew Franklin
Yeah. I mean, we have you for this moment. Like, we don't need you most of the days.
Matt Jones
This is the whole thing.
Drew Franklin
You're almost like a kicker. Not even a kicker.
Matt Jones
Kickers kick more.
Drew Franklin
But, like, we do all this, and then we bring you on for this one thing. Don't let us down. And you let us down.
Matt Jones
Yeah. It's like you would be in charge in New Orleans of the Mardi Gras festival, and then they just didn't have Mardi Gras that year. Like, everybody would come and then go, I forgot the floats. We don't have any activities this year. Hope you're good with that.
Ryan
Well, that's the thing, you know, with the sidewalks. I think that's why Fayette county kept canceling school, because the sidewalks were, like, all ice. They were afraid the kids walking down the sidewalk might slip on the ice. So what necessarily. The roads. It was the sidewalks also.
Matt Jones
I don't know about that. Did they cancel school because the sidewalks.
Ryan
It was a concern in addition to the roads.
Matt Jones
Okay. I think that's a cop out, because the city. The issue is buses on. I mean, first of all, if the sidewalks are what are keeping you out of school, then you shouldn't be in school today. The fact that you went to school today tells me it was not. You got. You have to use rational thinking. If you're telling me you can't go to school because of the sidewalks. Sidewalks are still awful. You're going to school today. Which means it wasn't the sidewalks.
Ryan
Yeah.
Matt Jones
It was the roads. Or you're just tired of listening to parents complain.
Shannon
That's probably the concern.
Ryan
Get them out of the house.
Matt Jones
Ding, ding, ding, ding.
Ryan
Please go back to.
Matt Jones
Which also. That may be true as well, but, you know, kind of is what it is. Now we. We're back in Lexington. One of the things I didn't get to talk about yesterday is. And Drew can. Drew can tell you this. I have a new enemy.
Drew Franklin
Oh.
Matt Jones
I, Shannon, have something new that I hate that is inevitably going to be a thing. But I am going to go on record and saying, like, with pickleball, I will never participate.
Ryan
What is this?
Matt Jones
Waymo?
Drew Franklin
You're out on Waymo.
Ryan
What?
Shannon
What? Hold on.
Matt Jones
Way more.
Shannon
What is way more?
Matt Jones
It's my. It's my. It's my enemy. Waymo. Are the solo non driver cars.
Ryan
Okay.
Matt Jones
All right. So in San Francisco, I don't know if there's any other city. Like when we were in Phoenix, we saw like one or two San Francisco. They're everywhere. Okay. Waymo is. What would you say? 10 to 15% of the cars?
Drew Franklin
Sounds about right.
Matt Jones
I mean, Shannon, a lot of cars are Waymo, okay? And they've got like. It's a car and on top it's like a spinning thing that. I don't know what the spinning thing does. I guess it's what the cameras.
Drew Franklin
What do you. Cameras on the. On the mirrors. There's lots of cameras around it.
Matt Jones
But it drives on its own and it's ugly. It's a little scary looking. And I just decided I hate them. Because, Shannon, they think that there's no driver. They can do whatever they want.
Shannon
They technically can.
Matt Jones
Well, they're a robot.
Shannon
They can do whatever.
Matt Jones
That scares me.
Shannon
Yeah.
Matt Jones
Because they. One of them cut me off in traffic. And the thing is, when somebody cuts you off, Shannon, what do you want to do?
Shannon
Honk the horn?
Matt Jones
Yeah. This thing's not even there.
Shannon
You're cussing at a robot who doesn't have feelings.
Matt Jones
I'm.
Ryan
I am.
Matt Jones
I'm like flipping the robot off. Get that robot.
Commercial Announcer
Yeah.
Matt Jones
And there's not anything you can do. So we were kind of half jokingly me being mad at Waymos the whole time. And then one day. Andrew, you got to back me up on. We saw Waymo. We saw the danger. All right, you got a picture? The San Francisco streets are all like. Not all, but some of them are way steep downhill and way steep uphill. Have you ever been?
Ryan
No. Just seen the. Seen the pictures and videos.
Matt Jones
Streets.
Ryan
Yeah.
Matt Jones
Gotta be the steepest streets in the country, don't you think? Certainly in a residential neighborhood. I mean, there. There are. I'm sure there are steeper mountains, but in terms of a street in a city, in a resident has to be the steepest streets in America. We're going downhill. Friday, five o', clock, massive traffic jam. Okay, so we're creeping. We probably went a mile and 30 minutes. That fair this way. Most trying to pull out, Shannon. And I'm of the view. Honestly. Screw this way. We're not this Waymo. Yeah. It could just sit there. The Waymo takes it on its own to go. I'm cutting in front of everybody. The Waymo cuts in front of three lanes of traffic.
Ryan
Oh my.
Matt Jones
Essentially stops the traffic, of course. I'm one of the first cars, Shannon. I'm honking at the Waymo. I'm calling the number on the side of the phone or on the side of the car. I'm mad. It has this girl in the passenger seat. I think she's by herself. But here's why the Waymo's stupid. It's just looking for clear land, right?
Ryan
Yeah.
Matt Jones
So it goes across the three lanes, which are full with traffic, then gets in the fourth lane, which is a parking lane.
Ryan
Oh, my God.
Matt Jones
Okay. Because there's a couple open parking spots. Shannon, it thinks it's a lane.
Shannon
Yeah. It thinks it's zipper merging, but it's going into a.
Matt Jones
It's going into a parking lane. So then it drives up to a parked car because the thing's too stupid to know who's in the car or not. And then it's stuck. And we saw this. It's stuck behind parked cars. It's trying to get back the rest of the cars without talking. We've unified. You ain't getting anyway better, boy. And you might not get in for months. And the girl, Shannon, is trapped in the car. Yeah.
Shannon
She's ready to get out.
Matt Jones
Drew my wrong. She starts to look panicked.
Drew Franklin
She put her hands on her head looking around.
Matt Jones
She put her hands. She was like hitting the window.
Ryan
Let me out of here.
Matt Jones
She was trapped in the car that was behind the parked cars. And I knew at that moment, Shannon. I'll never get in a Waymo.
Shannon
Yeah.
Matt Jones
It trapped this poor girl. Now, I still didn't let the thing in.
Shannon
You shouldn't.
Matt Jones
Crab tire. Because cut off all the traffic. So think of Waymo as the rudest driver you've ever met. And then 15% of the road.
Shannon
Now, I know that you think that you're not in San Francisco so you want to deal with these Waymos anymore, but I just googled Waymo, and the first story that popped up is Waymo. Waymo's vehicles are now fully driverless in Nashville.
Matt Jones
Nashville is. You're going to have to unite.
Shannon
Yeah, we.
Matt Jones
You're. You're going to have to unite. We now know their weakness. Make them think it's a lane.
Ryan
Yeah.
Drew Franklin
Trick them.
Ryan
Trick them and trap them.
Matt Jones
And then trap them. Trick them.
Drew Franklin
So we're at war with Waymo. The other opposite. I was trying to get Waymos the whole time. If Uber had Waymo, I would have picked no driver every time.
Matt Jones
Why do you want that? We're taking people's jobs. We just keep doing these things. They're going to take people's jobs, and then we're going to get here in 15 years and. And you know, there's going to be like 35% unemployment. And people are going to be like, how did we get here? And it was because of Waymo and was cause of the automatic groceries.
Drew Franklin
I think it's already here. I don't think we're stopping it.
Matt Jones
I'm. I'm doing my part.
Shannon
You're trapping them one.
Drew Franklin
The idea of sitting there with a laptop by myself, taking my time.
Matt Jones
Then what are you going to do though when you don't have any work? Like they're going to go, we don't need Drew Franklin all the articles.
Drew Franklin
Well, my real answer is we should have trains. Not to get that deep. But I'm not afraid of Waymo. I'd be. I'd happily ride with Waymo.
Ryan
I think I get it tickled just thinking about you honking your horn at a driverless car like I was mad at it.
Drew Franklin
See the road rages and it's he.
Matt Jones
Or she is who is he and who is she? And who do they think they are?
Drew Franklin
You heard the car feeling they're the doc. Wouldn't you want to be on their side? They're the ones winning. They're dominating. Well, they cut us all.
Matt Jones
They're not people. That's what I mean.
Drew Franklin
I could just chill human worry about.
Matt Jones
It are more important than computers, corporations. This is going to be the thing that if we're ever going to unite as a country, we're going to unite around this principle. And I genuinely think this could happen. We cannot let AI computers replace humans. And that sounds like fantasy, but it can happen. If we let these way mo's take the road. What if they just unite and decide to drive us all in the ocean?
Drew Franklin
It's too late. They're already doing it. Already in three.
Matt Jones
Not getting in. I'm not getting in there. Here, Shannon.
Drew Franklin
They'll be in Clay county in five years.
Matt Jones
They won't respect people's property and people will end up shooting it.
Drew Franklin
That was my extreme exact. I think they're only in San Francisco, Austin and now coming to Nashville.
Ryan
Wow.
Drew Franklin
They're all over Austin too. I think it might have been a different.
Matt Jones
I'm telling you, Nashville, Louisville.
Shannon
Before you know it, we'll have them. We're talking market.
Matt Jones
I saw that girl being trapped. It was like the movie Gattaca. I think that came out 20 years ago and it warned us of what was to come. I saw what was to come. People trapped in Waymos screaming, trying to get out.
Ryan
Waymo locked the door so she couldn't get out.
Matt Jones
Waymo locked the door and said, you are mine now.
Drew Franklin
Plays its Own songs. You gotta listen to whatever it wants to listen to. Right?
Matt Jones
You're just at its mercy.
Drew Franklin
I love the road rage where people yell and I think you might have done it. And then you realize no one's there.
Matt Jones
I'm like, well, I knew I wanted to know. There's one person fighting against AI and humanity. I refuse to get chatgpt. I know everybody's got the pictures and I'm going to grant you they're funny. I ain't doing it. You know, we got Google. That's where you can look stuff up.
Shannon
Here's a Waymo that ran over a cat in October of last year, killing the cats.
Matt Jones
Killing cats, wow.
Drew Franklin
Cats die every day. People hit cats every day.
Matt Jones
I understand. But these, they do it with. With anger that could have been a little suitable out there. And they're, they're. They're coming after us.
Drew Franklin
I'll give you credit. You're one and oh, on a one way street with a one with a one way coming your way.
Matt Jones
We played chicken. Coming. Coming at me. It was a chicken. And I said, oh, you're moving Waymo.
Drew Franklin
That one.
Matt Jones
And it backed down.
Ryan
Did it?
Matt Jones
Had no choice.
Drew Franklin
It was hilarious. We saw the car ahead and we're like, this is weird. It's a tiny narrow street. We're coming at each other. And as we got closer, we're like, oh, it's a Waymo. It's on.
Matt Jones
I felt like the moment that the. The human guy beat the. The computer in chess.
Drew Franklin
You made him.
Matt Jones
He's left that humanity still.
Shannon
Which is interesting because the Waymo has nothing to lose. Like you have a life in theory to lose. The way.
Matt Jones
Surrender to Matt.
Shannon
Yeah. The Waymo shouldn't care.
Matt Jones
It knew what was up. He didn't want me to unplug it.
Drew Franklin
Power down. Power delete it.
Ryan
I think the most shocking part of this whole story is that you let it merge in front of you. I didn't think you'd ever let anybody let it.
Matt Jones
The car in front of me did. I have no choice.
Ryan
In front of you did it.
Matt Jones
The car in front of me was weak. I'm gonna be strong.
Ryan
That's right. You'd be very strong.

Welcome back Techie Sports Radio. Ask anything Wednesday or Tuesday. Some folks are always like, hey, I can't get a show. Here's your moment because there's three calls. One is Bob and Shane's dad, which means there's two calls and eight, five nine to Reno 23 he missed you and you're gone. 772-774-5254 One person writes, Matt, only 10 to 15% of cars are in San Francisco that are like that. I thought it would be way Mo.
Drew Franklin
Oh, that's a good one.
Matt Jones
That is a good joke. Great joke to be fair. I mean I know nobody laughed but there you go Shannon. I had a big smile that wasn't good for radio. I mean it's not a hearty horror laugh but that's a.
Ryan
Didn't see it coming. So a good joke.
Matt Jones
That's a good, good joke. One person writes, matt, it's not that way. MO's are 100% driverless. There's actually a spot where if they feel confused they call a data center in Asia and people can take over.
Ryan
Oh boy.
Shannon
I don't know. Even worse. I think that's worth even.
Matt Jones
That's worse. So you're telling me somebody in, you know, Thailand is driving my car.
Shannon
That means at any point they could just jump in there if they wanted to.
Matt Jones
That's the thing. Like I don't think people think about if all of our cars are in a data system. What if someone takes over that data system?
Ryan
Yeah, right.
Matt Jones
What if you take over all human control from someone? I was telling you man, like I'm going to be wearing a tinfoil hat at some point. You know, I'm not going to be somebody who gets old and is on Facebook yelling about about politicians. But I might be the guy that's 70 and is like I told you people about relying on non human things this much. What are we going to do in this country if we have 35% unemployment? Seriously, what are we going to do?
Ryan
Can't just find new jobs around underneath the rock.
Matt Jones
I mean but. And we're going to.
Drew Franklin
Yeah, I don't think you're wrong. I just think it's already too late.
Matt Jones
We have, we have just give up.
Drew Franklin
We have a whole generation of kids who can't write an email because they're using chat GPT for everything.
Matt Jones
What about write a email Even that's only 40 years. What about just write.
Drew Franklin
That's what I mean. Like there's not going to be any thinking before too long. And I think we're already getting too late because people are already loving it.
Matt Jones
Yeah, I mean there was a. Okay, I'll shut up about this. But there was, there was a picture somebody put up and they were like. And it was you. Ryan posed with someone else or. No, it was Billy posed with someone else. And Somebody asked, chat, dpv, Jet Chat, GPT. Who's the person next to Billy? And it said Ryan Lemon, and it wasn't you. And then they go, it's not Ryan Lemon. Who else? Who is it? And they were like, it's Matt Jones. Now you and I don't even look like each other, and we really didn't look like the guy in the picture. So when you see that, you know, it makes mistakes. And now there are people who just believe that's true about anything.
Ryan
That's true.
Matt Jones
So. And what if the person that runs. Well, I'm done just saying.
Drew Franklin
Wait till we have humanoids that are in our house doing chores for us. And by the way, they're making those now.
Matt Jones
Party. Waymo had a thing. They were giving away free hats. Shane and I refused it.
Shannon
You didn't want the hat? I don't want.
Matt Jones
I didn't want the hat.
Shannon
Free name on it.
Matt Jones
I didn't want to be associated.
Drew Franklin
What was that big event? Remember we passed. People are lined up around the corner to hear from, like, AI God or something.
Matt Jones
Apparently, there's a new there. So we walk down the street and there's a line two blocks long, and I'm like, what's going on? And they're like, the new super AI is being debuted. And I was like, see?
Ryan
Oh.
Drew Franklin
And it was a long. You would have thought the biggest band.
Matt Jones
Ever was one guy looked at me directly in the face and goes, this is the future. And I was like, I'm gonna go get a soda across the street. I don't. I don't have anything to do with.
Shannon
A robot bringing it to you.
Matt Jones
It's true. I don't even get a human to.
Drew Franklin
Bring it to me.
Matt Jones
Harrison, go ahead. Hey, Matt.
Caller
First time, long time.
Matt Jones
Who are.
Commercial Announcer
So.
Caller
Recently, the NBA trade deadline came up, and Giannis Antetokounbo was spreading rumors that he might be traded to a different team, leading to people on the Kalshi app, where you can bet on anything to bet that he would be traded.
Matt Jones
Yes.
Caller
And so apparently, 20 ish million dollars was put on Giannis that he would be traded to a different team. And then last week, it was revealed that Giannis might be a. Is coming out to be a partner with Kalshee. My question is, do you think that maybe in a legal standpoint, that these sports gambling apps should be more regulated to prevent this sort of insider trading?
Matt Jones
Yes. So I am. I am. As we know, we were a big advocate in legalized gambling, and I still think it's a Good thing. Well, good. I think it's fine. It's a vice that people can have that I think is if done in control. Okay. I do think these unregulated apps, these quote unquote prediction markets are ripe for. Because. Because there are people out there that know the answers, Right? So, like, Giannis knew whether or not he was going to be traded. And for him to, like, I do think that's sketchy.
Drew Franklin
And you can create the bet. You can know something and just make the bet for other people.
Matt Jones
So I go, is Matt Jones going to eat Chipotle for lunch and let people bet? But I know whether or not I'm going to. So I can just steal people's money, and I think that's wrong. I think government has to stop that.
Drew Franklin
Did you see the super bowl insider get burned?
Matt Jones
What?
Drew Franklin
So somebody was betting all kinds of crazy money on very specific super bowl stuffs, including, he bet $200,000 that Cardi B won't perform. They took his money and said by her dancing on stage. She performed. So there's like, a big debate. He's even tweeting at Kalshee saying it shouldn't be that way. It's like a friend of Drake's. He had all very detailed. It's very clear he knew what he was doing. Except they still counted Cardi B by her being with the sugar canes.
Matt Jones
Yeah, they took his money. I never bet on those things because I think they're so easily manipulated. Everything in life needs to be regulated. And so, yeah, I think those things need to be regulated.
Drew Franklin
Well, on the apps, when it's like, first song, Bad Bunyo play, they have a cap of like, 25. You couldn't go bet a million or something crazy if, you know, okay, congratulations. You may. I'm saying, this new cow she thing, there's no limit. You can bet whatever you want on these things where you obviously know the answer. At least the gambling apps we have now, they won't let you bet more than, you know, a handful of money.
Matt Jones
Brandon. Go ahead, Brandon.
Caller
Hey, guys. It's almost like we're living in the movie Maximum Overdrive. Do you remember that one?
Matt Jones
Do not. But I. But. But if it. Who was in Maximum Overdrive?
Caller
Emilio Estevez.
Matt Jones
Oh, wow.
Shannon
So the trucks took over and had, like, a mind of their own, right? Isn't that the movie?
Caller
Yeah.
Shannon
Yeah.
Matt Jones
See, there you go. Just on that. Have you ever seen the movie Duel?
Ryan
No.
Matt Jones
Scariest movie.
Caller
Oh, yes.
Matt Jones
It's about this guy. He's driving down the street and Then this trucker just decides to. It was Steven Spielberg's first movie. A trucker just decides to come after him. And you never see the face of the truck driver, but everywhere he goes, the truck driver's there and trying to wreck him. It's like an hour and a half of tension. It was Spielberg's first movie. It is awesome. Go watch it sometime. All right. Sorry. Go ahead.
Caller
I think we need to befriend these AI robots because we're gonna need them against the aliens.
Matt Jones
But no.
Caller
My question for you all, if you don't care, what's the biggest conspiracy theory that you all believe in that you don't think the other guys in the KSR will.
Matt Jones
Would.
Caller
Would expect? Thank you.
Matt Jones
That's a good one. I like that question. And by the way, appreciate the call. Thank you. So we'll talk about that after the break. What's the biggest conspiracy theory we each believe in that we don't think the other ones would. Would be. Would think we do. I also want to talk UK basketball. Mark Pope talk last night. We're not going to just be conspiracy theory. I do want to do some basketball. We'll take a break. Be right back.
iHeartRadio Representative

Matt Jones
Call tj. He'll make him pay.
Shannon
Now more of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage. Here's Matt Jones.
Matt Jones
Welcome back. Tech Sports Radio. Got some fellow fans out there on the text machine of Duel. Neither. You've not seen it. It's like 70s, late 70s maybe. Well, I don't know when Spielberg's first movie was, but like it's just one guy and a truck.
Ryan
Trucks chasing a guy, trucks chasing.
Matt Jones
You've never seen, but it's like an old beat up old like, you know, semi truck. And it's so scary because you're like, this guy gonna ever get away and he tries all these things to get away and no matter what he does, he's right there. It's great. And you can see why. You can watch it and see why Spielberg. I think it was a TV movie, but you can still find it. All right, you gotta watch it. It's kind of your speed. Dual D U E L. Okay. One person writes, madam get married Saturday. Kentucky Florida game will be starting as we are close to finishing the reception. Do I cut the reception short or what else can I do? No, put it on.
Ryan
Just put it, put it on in the corner if you have to.
Matt Jones
Especially if you're, if you're, if you've gotten through the whole thing. Your wife wants like the dance and the cake and the little thing under your leg that they throw to the bridesmaids. What. What do you call that thing? What's the.
Drew Franklin
Oh, the garter.
Matt Jones
Garter. If you've gotten through all that, then, yeah, just put it on the side. People can watch it for a bit. It'll be a chance for them to Congress.
Ryan
Yeah.
Drew Franklin
Hot take. Like you're saying, if everything's done, I've had some fun game watch parties. Because, like, all your friends are there. There's an open bar. Exactly.
Matt Jones
That's.
Drew Franklin
As long as there's a TV and a good setup, it can actually be a fun party. But as long as all the other stuff's done and you can focus and no one's like, hey, why are 15 dudes huddled around that TV over there?
Matt Jones
Did I tell you in San Francisco, a guy came up to me and said, I'm getting married at Harper Hall.
Ryan
Really?
Matt Jones
Yeah. From here? They were from Kentucky, and they're coming back here and getting married at Harper Hall.
Ryan
So they work out there now.
Matt Jones
Live out there now in San Francisco.
Ryan
Coming back here to get married.
Matt Jones
That was crazy. All right. Conspiracy theory, you believe in? Okay, Ryan?
Ryan
I actually have two, but I think one you guys also believe in.
Matt Jones
Give me the one we don't believe.
Ryan
In, in the one that you guys may not believe in. And you can try to convince me all you want, but the fact that Tubby Smith found that mysterious Randolph. Randolph Morris fax in the bottom of.
Matt Jones
His desk drawer, I think everybody knows that was nonsense.
Ryan
Well, there's people. There's documentation on big blue history.net that says it's not true.
Matt Jones
What do you mean there's documentation?
Ryan
Oh, there's some big story there about it.
Matt Jones
That we may have the Randolph Morris facts.
Ryan
Yes.
Matt Jones
So you just don't believe there was a fact?
Ryan
I believe it was. They found one, but it was a mysteriously fabricated one or something.
Matt Jones
So it was fake.
Ryan
Fake.
Matt Jones
Okay. I mean, I don't think that's a crazy. I thought we were gonna do something much bigger. This is a. That's a Facts about eligibility in 2005.
Ryan
Yes.
Matt Jones
Okay.
Drew Franklin
All right, Drew, this is my topic. You know, I could go the CIA route. They're definitely lying about a lot of things and control a lot of things. But I think I'll stick with aliens because that's kind of my brand on this show. I'm gonna say we have some form of technology that they haven't told us about that came from aliens or ufo. And I'll add that Roswell was real. Because I've been there and seen what happened. And I believe every single one of those people. And it's a shame that they've made them all sound crazy.
Matt Jones
I'm not gonna. I'm not gonna speak with a raving lunatic on the sidewalk like, oh, I.
Drew Franklin
Could do MK Ultra if you'd want to go down that hole.
Matt Jones
All right, that's fine. I think that's crazy, but that's okay. Shannon.
Shannon
See, Drew and I believe the alien thing, so we kind of cancel. Because I agree with Drew. I think there are aliens. There's been too many sightings of UFOs to not be something out there.
Matt Jones
And yet no good picture.
Shannon
Oh, there's plenty of good pictures.
Drew Franklin
You all just don't open your eyes.
Shannon
They're always to look at.
Matt Jones
And they black and white. We took a picture of ludicrous from 500ft today and could see a pimple on his face. And you're telling me there's not one picture of an alien that's a good picture that doesn't look blurry, black and white and.
Drew Franklin
Well, they're not having concerts inviting 10,000 people.
Matt Jones
So why are they going to these random little towns, people's houses, when they.
Drew Franklin
Get here, they don't know the difference between town.
Matt Jones
Also, they're so smart. They can get here, but they can't figure out which town is which.
Shannon
How they want to figure out how to use way how they get here.
Matt Jones
If they're not smart.
Drew Franklin
That's what we're trying to figure out. You know how big the universe is? Do you know how arrogant is to think that we're the only thing that said.
Matt Jones
You said that they're here. I'm willing to say they're here.
Drew Franklin
At no point did I say they're here. I said we have technology.
Matt Jones
From where'd we get it?
Drew Franklin
They landed in Roswell.
Matt Jones
That was years. They're not at Kroger with us. They came years ago. They chose New Mexico.
Drew Franklin
Survive.
Matt Jones
The United States. Let's be as ethnocentric as possible.
Drew Franklin
There's been sightings in Brazil. They're all over the world. Why do you think Americans are the only place.
Matt Jones
And I've yet to see a picture.
Drew Franklin
You're not looking. Open your eyes.
Matt Jones
Okay, what is yours? Well, mine is not. First of all, I don't believe in conspiracy theories, but if I were to pick something that I do think is true, I do think, and this happens more and more every day, that there's a group of 15 to 20 people that are. That essentially run 85% of this country. The kind of elite, two or three people that run the major media companies, the banks. I do think there's a group of people and then a cut, and then they. There's a couple politicians probably on each side. That's the big lesson of the Epstein files. The big lesson is that all these elite people know each other and that they communicate with each other all the time, regardless of what you think of. I mean, obviously the other stuff is awful, but whether you believe someone's involved or not involved, look at the emails show you that they all know each other and they all communicate with each other all the time. And there are people like him who have these major roles in the running of humanity that we don't even know who these people are because no one had heard of this guy before this happened. Right, right. That's, to me, the lesson. And so I think that I've always kind of believed that, but I think it's even more true now. There's like. And the number of people is getting smaller and smaller. There's a handful of people that I think run 80 to 90% of what we do. And we all fight over these little nuggets they give us, but really they're the ones running everything.
Ryan
So this group of people, you're saying they're the ones blocking the release of the Epstein files? This group of people.
Matt Jones
Well, I don't know. Probably, somewhat. But it's not about the Epstein files. It's just about all everyday humanity. I mean, read, look and see. They all knew each other in both. Like, they all know each other and they all communicate and they all would go to the same place. You remember we saw that New Year's eve party at St. Bart's and like all the richest people in the world were in one place. You think they're just drinking tequila? They're also probably having an effect on what's the economy. What are we going to do? Where are we, you know, how do.
Drew Franklin
We get rid of all these people?
Matt Jones
Yeah, I mean, have you seen paradise? Have you seen. You saw the one dude that did the interview with the New York Times where he was like, we're going to move beyond humans. The guy that runs Palantir, how's that dude not scare everyone to death?
Ryan
Scared me. Just you saying that.
Matt Jones
And now he runs that. He's in charge of the Defense Department. Come on. All right, I'll shut up.
Drew Franklin
I think all that's just fact. The rich have gotten too rich and we can't turn it off.
Matt Jones
I agree Roger, Go ahead Roger.
Caller
Yeah, I don't get to watch the show every day or listen show every day. So what's going on with these recruits? Are we going to get any.
Matt Jones
We're getting none of them or not.
Drew Franklin
You got any theories about that?
Matt Jones
There are some conspiracy theories I could do on that but we'll just save it. I. To answer your question Roger, it doesn't look like absent a change we will get any of the top recruits. I'm sure they'll find one or two people to sign from somewhere but it's, it's at least as of today. Not looking like this may be the first year. When has Kentucky not gotten a top 30 recruit? How far back would you have to go?
Drew Franklin
I'm worried about getting all recruit at this point.
Matt Jones
I mean you'll find somebody but when. When's the last time we have not had.
Ryan
Okay, so Billy's last year.
Matt Jones
Second year but he got Patrick Patterson.
Ryan
That was the first year, wasn't it?
Matt Jones
So did he get nobody the second year? No. I appreciate the call Derek.
Ryan
Jasper.
Matt Jones
Well, Jasper. Jasper was a tubby guy when he.
Ryan
Yeah, that's right.
Matt Jones
Well he was. No, he, he was going to get Daniel Orton.
Ryan
Orton was in Cal's first class but he would sign.
Matt Jones
He committed to Gillespie.
Ryan
Okay.
Drew Franklin
Honestly, what was John Hood. He was.
Matt Jones
I mean you might have to go back to the Bobby Perry Wukash Charay Shagari year. Yeah, that was a recruiting class. I don't think any of those guys were in the top 30 because I think.
Ryan
Is that the year they thought they were gonna get Tyler Hansboro?
Matt Jones
Yes. Good memory. Yeah, that was the year they thought they were gonna get Tyler Hansboro. So I think you would have to go back to Bobby Perry Shigari Woo Charay as the last recruiting class with no top three guys and I think that's where we're headed Unless something, something happens.
Drew Franklin
Yeah, I'm trying to look up on the fly others I really. I mean thank God we have the portal now where you can just pretend that you didn't want high school people which is what we'll have to do but I really think this could end up being like nothing if they don't. There's not that many players left.
Matt Jones
Yeah there's.
Drew Franklin
We don't want to settle for the 80th guy at that point Just go get someone out of the pool.
Ryan
It hurts to the two dudes with Kentucky T guys are both maybe going to both go to Kansas. I think that Stings a little more also.
Matt Jones
You watch that game last night, you'd see why. Isaiah. Go ahead, Isaiah.
Caller
Hey, you got me.
Matt Jones
Yes.
Caller
Hey, so I have a question. So coming off a successful denim night, why don't we lean into our history and do more of those kind of throwback jersey nights? I mean, you think you benefit so much from a marketing standpoint, a recruiting standpoint point. And then to go further, I mean, you look at the NBA and they change their courts up every time they do a different jersey or like sometimes. Why don't we change the court up? You know, I know.
Matt Jones
I want to address that. That was actually one of my topics I had listed. So let me do that. I'm going to take.
Malcolm Glabel
Okay.
Matt Jones
Appreciate the call. I actually want to talk about the success of the denim and, and what you're saying because I, I completely agree with you. 859-280-2287. Send me the ad, Shannon, so I could do a one at the next break. We'll take a break and be right back.

KSR run a business and not thinking about radio. Think again. Cause more people are listening to the radio and iHeart today than they were 20 years ago. Ryan
Was He a top 30?
Matt Jones
Yeah. So it is the Bobby Perry one.
Ryan
Yeah.
Matt Jones
So I mean, think about it's 20 years since we've not gotten. It's 20. 20 years. Yeah. 20 years since we've not gotten at least one player in the top 30. And we are on pace to not do that now. Now that caller's point about denim and all that, I thought the denim thing worked amazing. It did okay. I mean, everybody liked the stuff. It looked cool. There's still like confusion about whether or not those jackets are for sale. Last night Mark Pope said they were. Then Tom Leach said, no, I don't think they are. And then I've heard people have gotten them. So I don't know if they are.
Drew Franklin
Not one thing that while they might not Sell. Someone noticed they spelled unparalleled wrong on the back.
Matt Jones
Oh, really?
Drew Franklin
So a little typo on those jackets. Tough.
Matt Jones
Look for something so special, you know, at least they didn't spell Kentucky, and.
Drew Franklin
They didn't really get it close. It says, like, unpara, rare. Little did. It's not.
Matt Jones
It's not like one letter off the thing. I am more convinced than ever we need to do. We need to do more fun stuff. Yep. You know, I understand the argument of, we're Kentucky. I get it. But we need to do more fun stuff. We just do. Because of what our arena is and how it's set up, it's never going to be that great environment. It can be a really good environment. Like, it was Saturday night, and it can have those great moments, but it's not going to be a consistent thing, and the fans love it. At the end of the day, we did this denim thing, and fans were lined up. Why not do it? We went on this trip, we went to the bookstore at Cal Berkeley, Right?
Ryan
Okay.
Matt Jones
All right. Cal Berkeley. Who cares about that as a sports school?
Ryan
Right.
Matt Jones
Coolest assortment of merchandise. All right. They had Marshawn Lynch University, Right. They had all this stuff. It was a store full of things. And I was like, there's so many cool items from so many manufacturers. And I thought Kentucky's main Kentucky stuff. Wouldn't you. I mean, you're a apparel guy. Kentucky stuff is 25% as good as this.
Drew Franklin
And we've been other places, not just Cal.
Matt Jones
That was like, right?
Drew Franklin
Yeah.
Ryan
Yes.
Drew Franklin
We're way behind on that stuff.
Matt Jones
Way, way, way behind. Just go look at what you can buy from other schools and then go look at what you can buy from here. Now, why that's the case, I'm not sure. But, yes, we should do more cool stuff. We should have more special things. This is Kentucky. We, like, think about when people wear those handmade jackets and how cool they look. And everybody's like, where can I get one? Why don't we do more of that stuff?
Ryan
So we did the denim this year. Would you be in favor, like, doing the icicles next year?
Matt Jones
Every year. Every year you have a special uniform.
Commercial Announcer
You know what?
Matt Jones
If you don't like it, it's one game and we move on.
Ryan
Amen. One game.
Matt Jones
One game and we move on. Yeah, maybe you do icicles, but maybe we create new ones. Maybe we put a uniform out one time that's just the outline of the state.
Ryan
True.
Matt Jones
I don't know. I'm not a graphic designer. But just try stuff Right. And they want to raise revenue for buying players and all this stuff. Well, here's a way to do it. Stop being such sticks in the mud with your things and making everything like it could be sold at doll hairs. All right. No offense to die. No offensives, but we should have like newer fun stuff.
Ryan
So 20 years from now when Mario and Billy are doing KSR or were they going to do like the checkerboard board jerseys, bring those back and people be excited about it?
Matt Jones
Maybe.
Ryan
Yeah, I think so.
Matt Jones
Maybe like I didn't like the checkerboards because it was every single game, but if we had done the checkerboards once, one game, I'm fine with it.
Ryan
Yeah.
Matt Jones
So I just being at Cal and seeing all their and they had so much cool stuff and I was like, this is cow. What if it was at Kentucky? It just made me disappointed. Adam. Go ahead, Adam.
Caller
Hey, morning, guys. Not an ask anything, but want to stay with the game. Last week in the 96 team did agree with Drew's take. That would have been weird for Rick to come back and. And be the y. Any active coach for that matter. But I will say this. I'm up here in Chicago and St. John's were in town last week to play DePaul and took a 96 title hat with me just in the off chance I could get Rick to sign it. And after the game when he was walking through the tunnel, bunch of, you know, everybody's yelling at Rick, Rick for prez. Couple Louisville shirts stuck that thing out, stopped him dead in his tracks, and he signed it. So I can't think of another active coach that would. You know, you're right. He's different school. So I think that guy just unapologetically loves uk.
Matt Jones
I agree with you. And I think the fact that I appreciate the call that he loves us more than he loves Louisville just makes the rivalry even better.
Drew Franklin
Oh, yeah, that makes me feel good about it. My whole thing, as I said on the. On the pregame show the other day, is just being at another school and it's more. So why does the other school let him do it that like St. John should be like, maybe you should stay focused.
Matt Jones
He didn't end up coming, so that's the way. That's fine.
Drew Franklin
But it is cool that he would sign stuff like that. I get it.
Matt Jones
So he, by the way, won last night, beat his son, and now he's the third winningest coach of all time. It's Coach K, I think, then Izzo maybe, and then him. No, Coach K. Bayheim and then him. So he has like 904 and I want to say coach K has like 1205 so he's probably not going to catch him but he has a chance to. To pass Behance so he's a chance to come in second.
Ryan
You know, he got win number 900 against Richard Pitino. Now he breaks, goes into third place beating Richard Pitino. Poor Richard taking two beatings in a historical games for him.
Drew Franklin
Reacher had a big lead too in the.
Matt Jones
Richard blew that lead. Richard had a. Richard looking more and more like Rick.
Ryan
Oh, they look like twins.
Matt Jones
You know, I don't. I now he's kind of growing in and then you know, Rick's Shannon having all that surgery and Richard's getting older and they're sort of meeting in the middle.
Shannon
That's right, yeah.
Matt Jones
Starting younger by the year starting to look more and more like each other. I'm going to give him 30 seconds. Bob and Jamestown go.
Caller
Are people losing their independence and self reliance now all this, we have a little winner and. And they're just, you know, really whining about the government's not doing enough, you know, cleanup or whatever. I mean, where are people nowadays? I mean they should be.
Matt Jones
Where are they?
Caller
They're relying too much on the government.
Matt Jones
But what about people who need help? You're supposed to be a live.
Caller
Yeah, well, I'm talking about as far as like against the mayor. She's not doing enough to keep the roads clean.
Matt Jones
But that's the one thing a mayor is supposed to do is keep the roads clean and keep the streets safe. Yeah, I think, listen, I like her and, but like I think it's perfectly legitimate to criticize one of the three things that the mayor's most important job for it not to have gone. Well, that's, that's reasonable. Bob.
Caller
Back in. Back in September, Farmers Almanac, Valentine's Day.
Matt Jones
Is coming the same. So. Okay. Appreciate the call. And you're tired of buying the same flowers or candy every year. Here's a gift idea. What are you laughing about?
Ryan
Poor Bob. Just trying to make a point about the government.
Shannon
You gave him twice as much time as what you said you were.
Matt Jones
And, and to be fair, if the governor, if his mayor was Republican, he'd be blasted her. I'm just trying to be fair.
Commercial Announcer
All right.
Shannon
You're taking up for Republicans.
Matt Jones
