The new Chicken Bacon ran Street chalupa, the Taco Bell. You can't get just one. Okay, so that's not like some marketing hyperbole. You literally can't get just one. They come in twos. So like, if you want just one, you're gonna need to a friend who loves slow roasted chicken bacon and avocado ranch sauce. Or a friend of a friend. Or have an awkward conversation with a complete stranger to see if they're obsessed with chicken bacon and avocado ranch. Or you could just like eat them both because you're obsessed with slow roasted chicken bacon. Okay, you get the idea. The new Chicken Bacon Ranch Street Chalup is a Taco Bell by participating Taco Bell US locations for a limited time while supplies last. One of the biggest misconceptions about buying a home right now is that you have to wait for the perfect moment. Perfect rates, perfect timing, perfect market. The truth is, that moment doesn't really exist. A lot of buyers pause because of headlines or assumptions, but every situation is different. Race change, markets shift, and personal goals matter just as much as what's happening nationally. That's why talking to a local lender can be so valuable. Matt Jones
Welcome back. Hour number two, Kentucky Sports Radio, 859-280-2287. Here at KS Bar, we are open for lunch and ready to rock. Getting ready for Madisonville tomorrow. Kentucky and Vandy 2 o' clock Saturday. Is that what it is? That's right.
Ryan Lemond
11:30 pregame. 2 o' clock pregame.
Matt Jones
Be here at the bar. Should be fun. Have a big, hopefully have a big crowd here. Two more home games left and then that's it.
Drew
Crazy.
Matt Jones
Yeah. We haven't taken any calls, but that's because I got all these topics.
Ryan Lemond
Great topics.
Matt Jones
They are great topics. One person writes, matt, calling anyone a dork is the height of hilarious. You are the biggest dork I've ever seen. True.
Ryan Lemond
But you wear it.
Matt Jones
But I didn't go in the locker room and try to celebrate with the hockey team. I would know better. I'm not, I've been in a locker room one time and it was after UK beat South Carolina in football in like 20. It was Stoop's first big road win. They invited me in and they're playing and everybody was dancing and I was like, I, I can't, I, I, I feel weird.
Drew
You didn't crowd surf?
Matt Jones
No, because I was like, I didn't play. So I, I look, I watched for a minute. I was like, I'm all right, I'm gonna go. Because I, it's not, I'm not out there. Like, you see me throw it. Like I didn't play.
Drew
You weren't throwing around the game ball and smoking a cigar.
Matt Jones
So I, I grant you I'm a dork. But like, that's not the, the point. One person writes, did Crosby steals and Nash. They said, love the one you're with. How's that song go? If you can't get who you love, love the one you With. That's right. That's my. That's it.
Ryan Lemond
No comment.
Matt Jones
Yeah. All these people in relationships, they will not say they have to have their wedding vows.
Ryan Lemond
We're happy in our relationships.
Matt Jones
Yeah. No, I understand.
Drew
Ryan's about to get married.
Ryan Lemond
Slow down.
Matt Jones
You know, the funny thing is every time we play the game, who'll be the next to get married? The good thing about Ryan is we can play that game many times.
Ryan Lemond
Recirculating.
Matt Jones
Yeah. Just. He'll keep. He'll.
Drew
He loves love.
Matt Jones
He does. All right, one through ten. Drew.
Drew
I will go with number three.
Matt Jones
Number three. Mark Pope announced yesterday that Kentucky is going to have a summer tour this year. They are going to play somewhere overseas on a summer tour in games. And he said it is in the. He said he couldn't say what it was, but it is somewhere he's never been.
Ryan Lemond
He almost sounded a little giddy, like he was excited about whatever, wherever this location.
Matt Jones
He didn't say it was somewhere Kentucky's never been. He just said it somewhere he's never been. So I don't know what his travel life has been like, but he played overseas, so one of the things we could do is just go see where he played overseas because we know we're not going there.
Ryan Lemond
Right.
Matt Jones
When he was in college, they played in Italy, so we know we're not going there.
Drew
I thought he might recreate that, but he ruled that out.
Matt Jones
He said, I had a text machine source. Now, I'm not. This is not. I'm not advocating this source, but they had very specific details. And I went back. They have said something true one time before. They also have said something that ended up not being true one time. So it could go either way. But they said. And they said with confidence. They said the place and the location. Right.
Ryan Lemond
Seems to be like some in depth information.
Matt Jones
Baha Mar in the Bahamas said Kansas and a couple of other teams would also be going there this summer. Now again, that's not official. This is from random text machine person. But you know what, we're all friends here. We're just speculating. I don't know if Mark's ever been to the Bahamas. I haven't asked him. But this. And this is a different island, I think, right. Than the island we went to before.
Drew
Same island just down the beach a little bit.
Matt Jones
Is it.
Drew
You can see it from the Atlantis beach.
Matt Jones
I mean weren't they building that or had just built pretty new when we. I think when you and I rode in the back of that truck, that guy was like the next Time you're here.
Drew
That'll be almost went last summer for vacation. It's really nice.
Matt Jones
So Baja Mars. What this person says. But again, I don't know if that's true. It feels like in the years past they've given us a lot of notice about this. This would be. If they're going in July or August.
Ryan Lemond
This is need to get the word out there.
Matt Jones
People make their plan months away.
Ryan Lemond
Yeah.
Matt Jones
But still it'd be very exciting. I love summer basketball.
Drew
Yeah. And I've wanted to go to that particular place for a while. So I would love for that to be it. When he said somewhere we haven't been. I know there's that or him and Jenna. There's that Dubai Royal Palm.
Matt Jones
Whatever.
Drew
And I'm like, please don't play in that when he was talking about it. So I would love for it to be the Bahamas.
Matt Jones
We've had. It might be Dubai. No.
Drew
I don't know. I don't have a thought. But that is existing this summer. So I thought please don't be that.
Matt Jones
I thought that Dubai thing though was regular season games.
Drew
Whatever it is. It's a rock. Tom Jurits kids put it on.
Matt Jones
So that's point being I was just
Drew
running through countries that it could be and I was like, God, please don't. I don't want anything there.
Matt Jones
Well, I don't know what it is. He also said fans would enjoy it. I think it'd be hard for fans on 5 months notice to get to Dubai. But the Bahamas is.
Ryan Lemond
Yes.
Matt Jones
You know, some people could get there either way. I like the idea of playing summer basketball. Now the question is, will we have a team? Because who will be on the team? But I am excited about the idea of playing.
Ryan Lemond
So it'll be like a round robin with three or four different play three or four different games. You think something like that.
Matt Jones
I mean, you're just making that up. I. It just. It's just I don't think we play other college teams. I think the idea though is there'll be a bunch of teams there that will all play. Because that's what's happening.
Drew
Yeah. Like we've normally done.
Matt Jones
Yeah. When we were in the Bahamas, Ohio State was there and Murray State was the Eric's. Morehead State. Like North Carolina. North Carolina. So I think it's. It's something like that.
Ryan Lemond
Yeah.
Drew
And then you get the randoms that we meet in the casino and hang out with. Then you look up and they're playing basketball the next day.
Matt Jones
Yeah. So. So exciting stuff. One through nine.
Shannon
Shannon, give me number seven.
Matt Jones
Seven, Yukon. St. John's last night I watched.
Drew
Oh.
Matt Jones
So here I was all excited. Turned on the peacock.
Ryan Lemond
Yep.
Matt Jones
I only watched peacock for the Tour de France, the Olympics and this show called Ponies. Have you seen that?
Ryan Lemond
Have not seen it. Don't know anything about it.
Matt Jones
It's good. It's about women. Who cares? It's, it's, it's, it's good. Watch. It's called Ponies. Turned it on. Put the game on route. Rick Patino's worst loss ever in his career. St. John's third worst loss in the history of the program.
Ryan Lemond
They missed their last 24 field goal attempts. Oh, of 24 to end the game. They couldn't buy a bucket.
Shannon
Can you imagine the practice they're going to have after that?
Matt Jones
They had eight minutes. They had like eight minutes left in the game. They had 36 points with eight minutes left in the game.
Drew
Their last made basket, there was 17 and a half minutes on the clock. Their final field goal.
Matt Jones
They didn't score for the final 17 and a half.
Drew
I think it had some free throws, but last made basket.
Ryan Lemond
I had to look up his postgame news conference and it lasted like a minute, 15 seconds. That was it.
Matt Jones
I heard he didn't come out at all, did he?
Ryan Lemond
He was out in the. Like the hallway, but outside the locker room.
Matt Jones
Yeah, he didn't come in the media room.
Ryan Lemond
Didn't come in the media room.
Drew
Shouldn't have fired the gm.
Ryan Lemond
He.
Matt Jones
Danny Hurley was asked before the game, what kind of relationship do you have with Rick Patino? Did you see his answer?
Drew
No.
Matt Jones
He goes, none.
Ryan Lemond
Yeah.
Shannon
Does he have a relationship with anybody, though?
Matt Jones
Well, he said to his credit, I mean, a man needs to know his weaknesses. He said, yeah, I'm not really friends with anyone that coaches. Well, I mean, maybe that's what you have to do, though.
Drew
He's honest.
Matt Jones
I mean, he's like. I mean, the last three coaches to win a national title have all been, let's be honest, jerks. Danny Hurley's one, two and Todd Golden. I mean, he's got his whole thing too. So, I mean, that's three in a row.
Drew
And we saw Rick and Cal do the. Pretend to like each other when all of us just. It went out the other year because we know it wasn't true. I like that he's just.
Matt Jones
That podcast together.
Ryan Lemond
Yes.
Matt Jones
That was awkward.
Drew
You see Hurley doing a podcast with someone.
Matt Jones
Do you remember when Cal. Just thinking of random. When Cal did the. You could call a phone number and he would give you updates about the team.
Ryan Lemond
I'd forgotten about that.
Drew
Remember that at all?
Ryan Lemond
I didn't go over very well.
Matt Jones
I don't think I remember this. He had some sort of, like, scheme. What is. I. I know this happened.
Drew
I know coachcow.com he had a lot of things.
Matt Jones
There was something. You call a number, and it would
Ryan Lemond
give you, like, a recorded message.
Matt Jones
A recorded message of Cal talking about the news of the team.
Ryan Lemond
Yeah.
Matt Jones
Shannon.
Shannon
I don't remember. Like a cow hotline. Huh?
Matt Jones
It was like the old WWE hotline. 99, 199.
Shannon
I don't know if you had before
Matt Jones
you call or was it a text? It was something to do with the phone. And it lasted literally, like, a week.
Ryan Lemond
I don't know anybody that did it.
Shannon
I don't remember it.
Ryan Lemond
I remember it was out there, though.
Matt Jones
I remember thinking when I heard it, like, this could be big. And then it just went away. You remember he also started a new podcast, and he. With. He started a new podcast right before he took the job at Arkansas. He had Michelle Obama's brother, the Oregon State coaches, his first guest. And then never did another one. You remember that? It was called, like, the leadership podcast. And he literally did one episode and then never did another one. He had, like, forgetting all these.
Drew
No, I remember that it was called the Cow Cast. I don't remember the recording. I was trying to look that up. His coachcow.com in the early days had a little bit of a money grab to it.
Matt Jones
We have to find what it is.
Drew
Yeah. The T shirts.
Matt Jones
There was no what you remember the phone. No one remembers the phone. But you rhyme, which worries me that you're the only person.
Ryan Lemond
It was a phone or a text message or something that fans could dial in.
Matt Jones
Someone out there remembers this, and it
Ryan Lemond
didn't last very long at all.
Matt Jones
I also remember CoachCow.com did have a subscription service because I had to tour his bathroom. Do you remember that?
Drew
And there was a T shirt, if you're at a certain level, because I have one. And it has the Twitter logo on it to follow Coach Cow.
Matt Jones
That that video is out there online of me giving a tour of Coach Cal's bathroom, which is really embarrassing in hindsight. I get in his shower.
Drew
I think, you know, you definitely get in the shower. I think it was at the craft center.
Ryan Lemond
Right.
Matt Jones
But it was Coach Cal, wherever it was. Caliperi had his own shower, and I got in it.
Ryan Lemond
Good reporting.
Matt Jones
It sounds really bad.
Shannon
Here's where he stands without clothes on Lathers himself.
Matt Jones
And why did I do that?
Drew
Looking for timeouts.
Matt Jones
Some. I know, I know. I'm right about that.
Drew
I believe you. There was a lot of little money grab things on the coachcal.com early days.
Matt Jones
Yeah. Well, anyway, so Patino. Yeah, it was the cow. Oh, yes. They were called Lexis. Look that up. That's what they were called.
Drew
Okay.
Matt Jones
They were called Lexi.
Ryan Lemond
What is Lexi's.
Matt Jones
They were called. And you could call and you could get a Lexi from Cal.
Drew
I'm starting to have memory of this. I'm still trying to help. Here we go.
Matt Jones
Here we.
Drew
This is from the Herald Leader, John Clay. Cal knows how to combine the two from coachcow.com his audio clips on Lexi to his Twitter followers. John Clay quoted one of them.
Matt Jones
Yeah. Found out. Find out what the Lexi was because I think you call a number and it would be like, hello, this is John Caliperi and it's so such and such day. This is your Lexi.
Ryan Lemond
I remember it. I just don't remember any people had to. It was a text message or a call, but something you would get if you called this certain number.
Matt Jones
Yeah, Yukon. By the way, the. Sorry. The Patino loss was his second worst loss of all time. Do you remember his first worst loss, which was here at Kentucky?
Ryan Lemond
Kansas.
Matt Jones
Kansas 150 to 95.
Ryan Lemond
And his minute 15 newscar. He brought that up. You know, his team missed their last 24 field goals and then Caliper's team made like their last 14 field goals last night. Both our coaches had completely opposite endings last night.
Drew
I'm having a good time going back.
Matt Jones
So tell me about the Lexi. This was not one of the topics, but I'm glad I remembered.
Drew
First of all, I don't remember this, but this is so him. Here's a New York Times article that says coachcal.com gets a hundred thousand views a day. I don't believe that. I do not believe that.
Matt Jones
That was not true.
Drew
And he was in the process of starting the Chinese version of CoachCal.com.
Matt Jones
what was the guy's name? They brought a guy from China and he followed the team for a year. We love that guy.
Drew
Not believe he had a hundred thousand.
Matt Jones
No, he didn't have a hundred thousand
Drew
followers, but there's a lot of coachcal.com you can get a Lexi autographed hat from legendary head coach and Lexi caster extraordinaire John Calipari.
Matt Jones
So he was a Lexi caster.
Drew
He was a Lexi caster.
Ryan Lemond
Wow.
Matt Jones
That didn't last very long. No, it didn't now. I'd like to go back and hear what they were.
Drew
Is Chinese coachcow.com still available? I want to read that.
Matt Jones
Lao Du was great.
Drew
I love Lao do. I have selfies with him on my phone to this day in New Orleans,
Matt Jones
remember there being a Chinese guy that was following the team around? A Chinese news newspaper hired Lao Do. He followed Kentucky around. Was it 2012? Was it the year we won the title? We loved him though.
Drew
He was my seat neighbor at every game. Every game.
Matt Jones
And he really didn't know much about basket. He had no idea why he was here.
Drew
He had. He had a Chinese Twitter. He showed me. It was incredible.
Matt Jones
Yeah, he would tweet about the games in Chinese.
Shannon
I found audio of a Coach Cal Lexicast.
Ryan Lemond
Oh yes.
Matt Jones
Dude, this is okay with tease. Okay.
Shannon
What a tease. What a radio break for this one.
Matt Jones
Yes. You're gonna stick through the break to

859-280-2287 Text Machine 772-774-5254 Very surprised how few people remember the Usually, I mean, I can say anything about UK basketball and someone will say, yes, I remember that. This. The Lexis have gone to history.
Ryan Lemond
It wasn't around long enough for people to.
Matt Jones
Even Ryan Lemon and I are the only ones that seem to remember this further.
Drew
Tells me he wasn't getting 100,000 a week.
Matt Jones
Yeah, I mean, there's that couple people on this text machine. 772-7745254 say they remember it, but not many, which is very rare. So, Shannon, this is. You're saying this is a Coach Cal, Lexi?
Ryan Lemond
Yes.
Shannon
This is video of Caliperi recording Alexi, but it serves the same purpose. So here, let's go ahead.
Matt Jones
Here we go. This is Cal Lexi from. This is 2010.
John Calipari
All right, folks, this is Coach Cal for Lexi. I had to call you. I know I'm usually calling you in the mornings, but I'm calling you now because of all the NCAA tournament stuff that's out. You know, we win the SEC in a dog fight. I don't know how we won the game. If you figure it out, send me a note and tell me how we won, because I have no idea. But we did win. We had to travel back, race to my house to see where we'd fall. We knew we'd be A one. We needed to know what region and who we'd be playing against. Well, then I had to do a few things for DirecTV Mega March Madness, which I'm helping him with. And then Brad, my son, wanted to go out and throw baseball, so I had to do that. Now I'm on my way to go watch some tape of East Tennessee State, and I'll tell you, I am so juiced up about this tournament. We have a hard road now, and I understand we're one of the hard. I think Kansas has a hard road also.
Lenovo Advertiser
They're all hard.
John Calipari
I mean, it's. There's no easy way because you're going to have to win games. You have to Tate. There's going to be upsets. There's teams you think you're going to play, you're not going to be playing, but it's going to be a tough road. And then with a young team like we have. Oh, my goodness. But I'll tell you what, I've got a talented young team, and I'm anxious to get after it, and I'm just hoping we've grown through the weekend.
Matt Jones
All right, so that's Alexi there, 2010. So that was because we played East Tennessee State that year, right?
Drew
Yep.
Matt Jones
I think we did. He says we're a one seed.
Drew
Yep.
Shannon
This is for March 15, 2010.
Matt Jones
Wow. The John Wall team. And he said how do we win that game? That was a Mississippi State game in the tournament where we make the comeback.
Ryan Lemond
Yeah.
Matt Jones
Wow. So just hearing that, what a.
Ryan Lemond
To me a great idea for 2010 where people could call and get an update from coach.
Matt Jones
But he said he called them.
Drew
Yeah. Did it just.
Matt Jones
So he was. So he would call you if you.
Ryan Lemond
I guess. Do you subscribe?
Matt Jones
Yeah.
Ryan Lemond
He would call you, maybe send out a message to everybody.
Shannon
Sounds like a long way conversation to me.
Drew
Wow.
Matt Jones
Can you imagine? You get a phone call and Cal Perry's just in your ear going, hello, this is John Calperi. Wow. The Lexi. All right, well that's from the past. Ryan one through seven, let's go number eight.
Shannon
One through seven. Number.
Matt Jones
Stop being it. Don't be funny. Just one through seven. You know, you and I have this conversation. Don't try to be funny. You're naturally funny. That when you try to be funny, you frustrate me. What is one through seven?
Ryan Lemond
Let's go number one then one.
Matt Jones
All right. I did. I was going to lead the show with this, but then I decided to do this thing. Give me your best case and your worst case scenario. Best case? Worst case scenario for the rest of the season for UK Drew. Best case, Worst case.
Drew
Best case is Aberdeen and Owe and Chandler play, you know, their best basketball like we've seen consistently throughout the sec and then the combination of yellow Vich and Diabate give you what they gave you the other night, you stay healthy and that group in Marino take you to the second weekend.
Matt Jones
So best case for you is sweet 16.
Drew
Yes.
Matt Jones
Worst case,
Drew
we don't win another game at all.
Matt Jones
Okay. That's, that's a plausible scenario and I
Drew
don't think that will happen. But it's not impossible. We're probably going to be an underdog all three of the games left.
Matt Jones
Scenario where that happens is you lose the three regular season games, you end up with the eight seed because Texas loses a couple times coming down the stretch, you're the 8 seed, you play Texas in the first round, the SEC
Drew
tournament, but then if you lose that, you're NCAA seed, you're an underdog, 11
Matt Jones
seed seed and you lose in the first round of the NCAA.
Drew
Now I think that's extreme, but it's not non 0 not crazy.
Matt Jones
My. That was going to be my worst case. There is a worst case scenario where you do not win another game. Best case scenario for me, beat Vandy and A and M, lose to Florida, you end up like a six seed in the SEC tournament. You end up playing like Arkansas in the in the quarterfinals. Beat them, play Alabama in the semifinals. Get hot. Beat them. Losing the finals to Florida, go to the NCAA tournament, you're a seven seed, win your first game, draw two seed. That stinks. Upset them, get the Sweet 16, see your matchup, things go crazy good. You win and you go the elite. Not likely, but that's best case.
Ryan Lemond
Ryan, I'm still a believer that these guys, they are good shooters, they're going to find their stroke. I know we're about running out of time, but I still believe that. Trent, Yellow, Vic, Jasper, these guys, they're good shooters, they're just not hitting their shot right now. So I'm going to hope my best case scenario, they dial in, find their stroke, win two of the last three, Manny in Texas A and M, lose to Florida, get to the SEC tournament and I'm kind of drew. Just get us to Saturday, you get us to the weekend of the SEC tournament, get in the NCAA tournament, go to the sweet 16. Maybe you have to upset somebody in the round of 32 to get to the Sweet 16. Everybody's excited and that way. So if we lose in the Sweet sixteen, we're not as disappointed.
Shannon
Shannon, best case scenario, team gets your
Matt Jones
worst case lose out.
Ryan Lemond
Yeah, you guys are all, you nailed the worst case.
Matt Jones
All right, go ahead.
Shannon
Yeah, worst case is lose out. You end up what, 18 and 14 and I don't even know if do you make the tournament at that point.
Matt Jones
If you're 18, 14, you make it, but you're probably a 10 or 11 seed.
Shannon
Best case scenario for me, this team gets hot, they end up a six seed in the NCAA tournament. They beat the 11, get an upset over the three, make it to the Sweet 16 and probably lose there.
Matt Jones
Okay, so we're all in the same ballpark.
Ryan Lemond
Yeah.
Matt Jones
But it is interesting. Just think about the difference in react. We all agree that either of those scenarios is possible, right? Not win another game. Sweet 16. Think about how different this fan base will be based on which of those two very plausible scenarios could happen or anything in between. It's, it's amazing and I don't think
Ryan Lemond
we would be surprised if it went either way. I can see it happening in the bad way and the good way.
Matt Jones
I, I could too. I could see us beating Vandy Saturday. Yeah, A M's been on a complete, you know, they've been falling down. You could win. Yes, you know, you draw a two seed and it's Nebraska. Are you scared? I'm not really.
Ryan Lemond
Get a big upset.
Matt Jones
But I also could see a world where it all falls apart. So I guess we'll just be along for the ride.
Drew
Got that going for us.
Matt Jones
Call Lexi and we'll keep you up to date during the run. We'll be right back.
Capella University Announcer
TJ Smith, personal injury attorney.
Ryan Lemond
Call tj.
Matt Jones
He'll make him pay.
Shannon
Now, more of Kentucky Sports Radio, presented by Stockton Mortgage.
Matt Jones
Here's Matt Jones, quarterback Techie Sports Radio, 859280 2287. All right, one through six. Drew.
Drew
I'll go number four.
Matt Jones
Number four. Okay. Let's see. One. Oh, I guess I've done more of these than I realized. One through five. You're still doing four. Tyler Bell, baseball player for Kentucky. They announced yesterday. Maybe back.
Ryan Lemond
Good news.
Matt Jones
Some rumors Jeff Drummond said may actually be back for SEC play.
Ryan Lemond
That's huge.
Matt Jones
Which seems wild to me, but would be huge for Kentucky baseball. They. They ended up winning that game yesterday. Western okay.
Ryan Lemond
You know. Yeah. The initial indication was that it was a pretty serious shoulder injury. Maybe after they got in there and did the MRI or something, found out okay. Yeah, we can rehab, get him back by the end of the season. So it would be a big boost to get him back.
Drew
I think yesterday people at the game noticed he wasn't in a sling. And, you know, if you're out for a year and if you're really going through, that thing's probably going to have something on it. And it looked like, you know, he wasn't out there throwing the ball around a lot, but it didn't have anything on it, which is a good sign.
Matt Jones
Talk about our other injuries. 0 chance in your mind, Jaden Quaint's
Drew
place, is there a number below zero?
Ryan Lemond
It's been zero for me for a long time.
Drew
It's been zero for me since January.
Matt Jones
Zero.
Ryan Lemond
Yes.
Matt Jones
Did you. You have been zero from the beginning. Was that. Was that Scoop or was that just Ryan Lemon scuttlebutt?
Ryan Lemond
Just a little. Little scuttlebutt. No Scoop. Just a little scuttlebutt that, like I said, I mean, I think. I don't know. I don't know this, but I think there could be another injury that has happened, and maybe that's why it's swelling up all the time. And I don't think his dad was too pleased with the way things were going.
Matt Jones
We only played three games. Yeah, but in the last game, he only played, like eight minutes.
Drew
Yeah, and if he was going to come back, he would have already been back. All right, even if you're healthy, what's the point coming back for a couple games here. Cam Williams sounds like he's trying. I just seems very optimistic for a guy coming off that injury. Would just immediately, once he starts practicing, the conditioning, all that goes into it, be able to help you out, would you?
Matt Jones
I mean, let's say that he was ready for the SEC tournament. You think it make a big difference?
Drew
It would help. I just wouldn't have high expectations of him making a big enough impact to matter. But if you, if, if we're, if it's the SEC tournament, Trent still hasn't made a three and your bench hasn't taken a step forward, then another body won't hurt you.
Ryan Lemond
That's what I mean.
Matt Jones
That's a really good point. With the way Trent and Jasper have played, it could be huge just to give some rest to those guards occasionally. I mean, I don't want a lot of rest, but you could give them a little bit of rest.
Ryan Lemond
It couldn't hurt at least having somebody out there that could go out and maybe knock down a shot for you when you need one. Those days of him playing 15 minutes are long gone. But if you get him, you know,
Matt Jones
five, you don't think you can play 15.
Ryan Lemond
Not off the bat. You know, like Drew said, the conditioning. He hasn't been on the conditioning since, when was it? January. I mean, that's a long time to be out off your feet.
Matt Jones
What are the chances you think he plays?
Drew
I mean, if they made a deep run, you know, you're buying them a little more time. I will say 5%.
Ryan Lemond
I was going to go 10.
Matt Jones
I'll go more than that. I'll say 15 or 20. I think that, I think he's trying.
Drew
Yeah, I don't have a doubt he's trying. I just think that's, it's a big ask for him to get back and be able to help you in that timeline that he has in front of him. I think his attitude's right. No doubt.
Matt Jones
One person writes, matt, sometimes you write things down. I want you to write things down right now with everyone on the show, players that will be on the team next year writing it down. I'm writing it right here on Sunday, March 1st. I'll do Matt. I'm gonna do Matt Jones's first. These are the ones that I. This is not could. This is wit. Like, this is your, your prediction. And of course we, we can change this, but this Is for today.
Ryan Lemond
Okay.
Matt Jones
Malachi Moreno. Colin Chandler. Cam Williams. Brandon hawthorne. Braden hawthorne. Braden hawthorne. And I'll go ahead and say jalen lowe. Those are my five. I'm going five.
Drew
Drew. I will say cam williams.
Matt Jones
Okay.
Drew
Colin chandler.
Matt Jones
Okay. Oh, boy. No, malachi.
Drew
I'm thinking I'll say malachi.
Matt Jones
All right.
Drew
Gotta get malachi.
Matt Jones
That's important.
Drew
I will add hawthorne.
Matt Jones
All right.
Drew
Put Diabate on there.
Matt Jones
Diabate. All right, so we both have five, but we just differ as to who the fifth is.
Drew
Actually, you know what? Give me yellow Vich.
Matt Jones
Yellow bitch. No Diabate. Or do you want to do both?
Drew
We'll keep them both.
Matt Jones
Oh, so you got.
Capella University Announcer
I worry.
Drew
I worry. We're gonna run it back.
Matt Jones
Okay, so you got six.
Drew
Part of me wants to say Brandon Garrison. I know that sounds outrageous, but Pope clearly loves him. But I'm not going to say it.
Matt Jones
But you're not going to say low.
Drew
No, I'm not gonna say low.
Matt Jones
All right, Shannon.
Drew
And I was on the fence about Trent, Noah, and Jasper Johnson, but I left them both off.
Shannon
I got four. I'm gonna go.
Matt Jones
You want to run this whole thing back?
Drew
No, I. I.
Matt Jones
No.
Drew
Part of me wants to run it back. I think heading toward.
Matt Jones
Okay, four. Shannon, go low.
Shannon
Chandler, Moreno, and I think Garrison just to frustrate the hell out of you for another season.
Matt Jones
Wow. So no camp, no, Low. Chandler, Moreno, Garrison, Shannon with the typical, least pet. Optimistic. Or. It depends, I guess, how you look at it.
Shannon
I mean, I think it would be an improvement to get more players.
Matt Jones
Interesting. You have Low, Chandler, Moreno, Garrison. That's quite a foursome. I bet nobody else has that force.
Ryan Lemond
All right, Ryan, I think the. The three, we kind of agree on Malachi, Chandler, and Except Shannon. I'm gonna go with email. Malachi, Chandler, Cam. I'm gonna go. Trent, Noah, and that's it. Those four.
Matt Jones
Okay, so I have six, or. No, Drew has six. I have five, you two have four. We all have Moreno, Cam, and. Or no, you don't have Cam. So the only two people all four of us have are Moreno and Chandler. We all feel good about Moreno and Chance. I lived into Moreno, so Chandler is the only one everyone feels 100% certain is back.
Drew
I'm not 100% there either, but I would say he's the most likely of the bunch.
Matt Jones
Okay, Moreno, you would say second.
Drew
No, I would say Cam, second.
Matt Jones
Okay, but. But he doesn't. I just think so I can't put him.
Drew
Yeah, I just think Moreno's phone's good.
Matt Jones
If we're doing the Correct. If we're doing the collective group. Chandler most likely Cam or, excuse me, Moreno, second. Cam third. We all kind of agree that's. Those three are the top Hawthorne. Neither Ryan, you, nor Shannon believe he's going to play here
Shannon
this year.
Ryan Lemond
So I was thinking about just the current guys.
Matt Jones
Do you think you'll play here?
Ryan Lemond
I would put him down on my list.
Matt Jones
All right, so now Ryan's.
Ryan Lemond
I got five.
Matt Jones
All right, so we all agree with that. No one has Jasper returning.
Ryan Lemond
No.
Drew
No.
Matt Jones
Is he the least likely to come back?
Ryan Lemond
See, I thought maybe yellow bitch might be the one of the least likely to come back. He may even just go back overseas, you know, May not even play college ball here.
Matt Jones
I don't think he'll do that. He can make more money here.
Drew
I just don't know his connection.
Matt Jones
His entire team came to college, so clearly there's more money here than there is on his team. He might go to another school, but I don't think he'll go back.
Drew
I just don't know his opportunities.
Matt Jones
Why did you say. Who do you think is less likely?
Drew
I was just trying to think Jasper. I only know. But to say he's the least likely. I was kind of running through the roster in my head. I. I guess he's my answer now.
Matt Jones
Why am I. Why are Shannon and I the only two that have low?
Drew
I just hope they go find someone that's not coming off a shoulder injury. That plays a little more like the demory at UConn that they talked to last year. That type of guard who's having a great year. I hope they go get.
Ryan Lemond
They're definitely gonna go get a point guard. I think that alone may chase him off. Chase Low off and go get somebody else.
Matt Jones
I think that's a fair argument.
Drew
I think if Lowe's back is the starting guard, we whiffed like you can't. I like that Low tried and I hate that he has the injury, but I don't know. You can put all your chips in with a guy coming off a shoulder injury.
Matt Jones
I'm holding out for my man. I think everybody. I think it's a different team. It's a different team. If he's healthy all year. I still don't think it would have been great, but it would have been better than what we have. Our bottom would not have been as bad. Yeah, our bottom has been very bad
Drew
this year, but we might have never gotten Aberdeen. And he's awesome right now.
Matt Jones
Yep, fair point. But our. I don't think we I don't think we lose by 42 teams if he's on the team, right?
Ryan Lemond
Yeah, with. He's with. He. If he was healthy. You're trying to juggle away Chandler, Aberdeen and Lowell at the same time.
Matt Jones
But then you could have a four man rotation. Yeah, right now we just have three guys and then pray they're our best three guys, you know, which I do think is is difficult. Welcome back, Turkey Sports Radio. Drew just reminded me that Reese Potter left Miami of Ohio and they're undefeated.
Ryan Lemond
They won again.
Matt Jones
Oh, that's brutal. I didn't think about that. That's tough.
Drew
Yeah, he played close to 20 minutes last year.
Matt Jones
They're going to finish undefeated. Are they? Do you find them a good story or do you find it lame because they didn't play anybody?
Drew
It's a good story, but, you know, if it gets to the point where they lost their conference tournament, I'm not. I don't think they should be rewarded. It's neat that they've won every game in front of them, but it's not some big incredible feat.
Matt Jones
If our best case scenario happened and we were like a six or a seven, I would love to see them on the other side of the draw. I don't, I don't, I would. I don't think you, I don't think you could pick a better team for Kentucky to get in that scenario because, I mean, no offense to him, I just don't think they're. They're obviously good, but they're not like really good.
Drew
And they've been tested, but not like, not really tested. And a real, you know, Kentucky, I'm not going to say elite, but, you know, a big program from a big conference coming in and smacking in the mouth. They haven't had any challenges like that this year.
Matt Jones
I mean, if they had just played one game against a big conference team, just one where they won or not, you'd have a, an idea, at least have a little experience, which you have no idea. So I, I would love to. Of all, I would love to see that as our opponent.
Ryan Lemond
And I can see the selection committee doing that high profile game, undefeated Miami of Ohio playing Kentucky. Yes, I can see that happening.
Drew
I think that's up to them.
Ryan Lemond
I'd be like.
Drew
It would Wichita that year.
Matt Jones
All right, A couple things real quick here that we did, we didn't get to. I want. Next week is the high school regional tournaments.
Ryan Lemond
Yes.
Matt Jones
I want to pick Ryan a region to go watch, like make a couple. I want to. I want to pick a region to get emotionally invested. Okay, so which region do you think will have the most competitive tournament this year? If Matt Jones wanted to be emotionally invested in a tournament, well, you wouldn't
Ryan Lemond
have to go too far because the 11th region's got Madison Central, probably the best team, and Frederick Douglas and Brian Station are both really good. So the 11th region, it's always good. It's gonna be good again this year.
Matt Jones
It's not a fun answer, though. Like, I could go to that any year. Is there another year that has. Is there another reason? Has multiple good teams or at least very competitive?
Drew
Louisville again?
Ryan Lemond
Yeah, same again.
Drew
That's the same thing you're running into. I assume you're trying to get out somewhere. You don't.
Matt Jones
Well, I mean, I could do. I, I would do. I've been to the Louisville ones a lot. Lexington, I haven't actually been a lot, but I'm thinking like, is there, there's got to Be some region out there that has three or four good teams. It's not always.
Ryan Lemond
The 10th region's usually pretty competitive. GRC still really good.
Matt Jones
So you don't know.
Ryan Lemond
Trying to think, because we always had much. A lot of fun at the 13th region tournament down there, but I don't think any of those teams are like powerhouses this year.
Matt Jones
All right, well, there goes my excitement.
Drew
I mean, Madison Central would be a good one to see. They're really good.
Ryan Lemond
Yeah.
Matt Jones
Is that in Richmond? Where is the regional tournament?
Ryan Lemond
I'm not sure whether. Playing the 11th region tournament this year, but that's. It's going to be a hell of a tournament.
Matt Jones
When's the last Madison Central? This is the best they've been in many years, right?
Ryan Lemond
They won the state title with Dominique.
Matt Jones
Is this the best they've been since then?
Ryan Lemond
Probably, yeah. That was what Dominique, Hawkins them on, like, oh, seven, oh, eight. Whatever that year was.
Matt Jones
No, it was. It was the year we.
Drew
It was later than that.
Matt Jones
Yeah.
Ryan Lemond
Oh, yeah, because Cal went to watch.
Matt Jones
It was the year we missed the tournament. It was 13. Because Cal went and watched the game. And then. And then Hawkins played so well, he gave him a scholarship. So I think that was 2013.
Drew
And they got a felt house at
Ryan Lemond
Madison since he's committed to Belmont.
Matt Jones
Oh, is that. It's the Fell house kid.
Radio Advertiser
Yeah.
Drew
Good.
Ryan Lemond
Yeah, he's really good size.
Matt Jones
All right. So I did read a study, Shannon, I thought you would like.
Drew
Okay.
Matt Jones
They say they have found a study that says, you know, people. That people claim people have a natural scent. Do you believe that's true? That, like, people have. They always say married people can smell the scent of their other.
Shannon
Yeah, yeah, that's probably true.
Matt Jones
I'm not talking like perfume or cologne, but just like a natural scent.
Drew
Sure, I believe that.
Matt Jones
Do you believe that's true?
Ryan Lemond
I believe it. I think dogs prove that it's true.
Matt Jones
Why do dogs prove that it's true?
Ryan Lemond
They can smell like something like a sock and then go find that person.
Drew
That.
T-Mobile/CarMax Announcer
Yeah, that's true.
Shannon
You get a point.
Matt Jones
Okay, so that's a good. All right, fair enough. They say that starting at the age of 49 to 50, your natural scent changes into a different scent. And they're trying to figure out biologically why that happens, that you get to a certain age and your natural scent becomes completely different and that older people then smell completely different than when they
Shannon
were young, start to smell like Bengay after that age.
Matt Jones
Do you. Do you agree with that? You have the reason I'm Bringing this up is I'm going to cross that line relatively soon. You have already crossed it. So you have already changed your smell. Do you. Do you think or have you ever people told you you smell different?
Ryan Lemond
I haven't got that, but it's probably they want to tell me. But, you know, we go visit your grandparents, they always kind of had a different smell to them.
Matt Jones
I feel like you never visited my grandparents. They were dead when they met.
Drew
Leave my grandparents out of this.
Ryan Lemond
Well, back in the day, when you used to go visit your grandparents, they. Grandparents always used to have a little smell different. They smelled different.
Matt Jones
Mine didn't.
Ryan Lemond
Maybe you were young, you didn't smell. You've got a very sensitive smell.
Matt Jones
I tried not to. I. I tried not to smell my grandparents a lot. Yeah. I. I just thought. The point being, what. What is getting me. There are all these studies coming out that basically say the 8 between the age of 44 and 49 is the moment that your body, like, starts to go, all right, that's it. Like, we're heading in a different phase of our life. And I don't feel it, but I'm kind of worried, like, it's going to happen, like, tomorrow overnight.
Drew
You're going to wake up and smell different.
Matt Jones
Yeah.
Shannon
You know, tomorrow in Madisonville, if you smell different.
Matt Jones
No, but I mean, they're just. I've been like. I guess it's just you tend to focus on what affects you. I just keep reading all this stuff, and it all says the same thing, that you go through 44 to 49 and then, like, 72 to 74 are the ages that your body makes major transformations. Basically ages. And I don't feel it. Like, I'm in better shape now than I was 10 years ago. But I'm just worried, Drew. Like, I need to go do everything right now because it's about to fall apart.
Drew
You got to take care of yourself. Could it be, you know, when things start going bad, they start to smell? Getting older. Aging.
Ryan Lemond
Yeah.
Matt Jones
Did you notice that as being the age?
Ryan Lemond
Yes. You know, you start growing hair where you've never had hair grow before. What, things don't work? That used to work.
Drew
I wish you hadn't asked him that.
Ryan Lemond
Peeing all the time. You got to pee twice in the middle of the night. Can't get a whole night's sleep without going into the bathroom. Dribbling all over the floor.
Shannon
See what you get to look forward to?
Ryan Lemond
That's. That's. Welcome to the 50s.
Matt Jones
Dribbling all over the floor.
Ryan Lemond
Yeah, yeah. Things just dribble.
Shannon
You crossing over people in the bathroom.
Matt Jones
You know, you're right. I should have. I shouldn't have asked him the question. That's on me. I'm gonna take that one for the team. That's on me. I should have known. Should have realized he was not the person to ask. I should have brought in a special guest. Drew past that.
Drew
Now I got visuals of riding my head. I don't want you lose hair.
Matt Jones
Where you want hair, you start growing hair.
Ryan Lemond
We don't want to grow hair. My nose, my ears. Hair's growing everywhere.
Matt Jones
Your ears?
Ryan Lemond
Yeah, hair coming out of my ears. Oh, yeah.
Shannon
Old people get hair coming out of their ears. I've seen that.
Matt Jones
All right, tonight. DraftKings. DraftKings.com Vet5Win200 if you use my promo code, KSR. March Madness is coming. We got a lot of parlays and excitement happening, so you might as well get in now. The only one big game tonight in college basketball again on stupid Peacock. Michigan State at Purdue. Oh, Purdue is a 7 1/2 point favorite.
Drew
Purdue gets done. They just destroyed Indiana and took that loss to Michigan before that. I think they're in a good spot even though they lost that game and they'll win big.
Matt Jones
This is for it to. For the two seed probably in the Big Ten tournament.
Ryan Lemond
Yeah, I watched the Purdue Indiana game. They just destroyed Indiana. The produce kind of got it figured out. They're kind of rolling right now.
Matt Jones
I'll take Purdue to win, but I'll take Michigan State to cover the seven and a half.
Drew
A lot of points for a game
Matt Jones
like going to play. They'll play him hard, but I'll take Purdue to win, but Michigan State to cover.
Shannon
Shannon, I'll take Purdue as well. I think they do cover.
Matt Jones
Okay, there you go. And my. By the way, after a two and a half week hiatus, my Hurricanes are back in action. I get to see my favorite person Trip Tracy on the television. Oh, that's right. We're going to be in Madisonville. They probably won't show the game.
Drew
We'll find it. We'll get it for you. We're the best town on earth, Matt. We'll get whatever you need.
Matt Jones
