welcome to hour two of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage. Now here's Matt Jones.
Matt Jones
Welcome back. Our number two Kentucky Sports Radio, 859-280-2287. Couple open lines if you want to get in. Text machine 772-77-452541. Matt, you get more worked up when you talk about the data, data centers than anything I've heard you talk about. Why is that? It's not just the day, the whole AI data center thing, it worries me. I'm with the Pope. Pope had a great statement a week or two ago. Like, this is the first thing that has like fundamentally questioned what it means to be like a human and what it means to have like a soul. Like, like this is like a massive thing. And it's, it's, it's not just, it's political, but it's not political. Like Democrats, Republicans. Like, it's not partisan. Like everybody should have the same concern. And it's spiritual. It's like a lot of, like, it goes to the core of what does it mean to be a human being. And when you see these, like the one dude just escaped to Argentina.
Mark
Yeah. Just left.
Matt Jones
Do you, I mean Shannon, you know this guy I've been telling everybody to be worried about for years, this Peter Thiel guy.
Shannon
Is this the plastic looking guy?
Matt Jones
The guy looks like he's made of plastic. Who started all this stuff? Yeah, started. But he's a big part of all this stuff. He just announced, yeah, I'm moving to Argentina. I don't think we need to be in the United States right now. What?
Mark
He's worried about the future.
Matt Jones
He's worried about the future of America. Like, dude, you're the one doing all this. Leave us here and you're going now go to Argentina with the dude with the crazy hair, backed his kids up and left us like that. That's to me, like the biggest. The guy who's like at the center of literally going on in the New York Times and saying, I maybe we've moved beyond humans. That's his quote, not mine. He's now like, yeah, I'm packing up to go to Argentina.
Mark
Get the heck out of here.
Shannon
Does Argentina not have AI?
Matt Jones
No, but Argentina's got like this crazy right wing guy that like, you know, protects. He's. He's big with the tech people. Right? So, you know, so, yeah, you're gonna hear me keep saying it because in like, how could you not? In other news, one person writes, matt, my Louisville friends are already mocking me today that they're going to get Milan and we're not. What should I say? Well, I would say nothing until he makes his decision. Because I'll be honest with you, if he goes to Louisville, they should mock us. Like I would mock.
Shannon
They don't even need them. They're just getting.
Matt Jones
That's what I'm saying. Like, they don't even need him. And if they get him with less money. With less. If they offer less money. No, don't even have really a starting spot for him, although he might win one. And he goes there almost just for the heck of it. Yeah, they should mock us. They should mock us nonstop. You, mark, cannot lose this guy to Louisville. If he goes to Arizona, it's going to stink. But what, I mean, whatever. But if he loses him to Louisville, like, that can't happen.
Mark
Yeah. Even though you would think the brand of basketball at Arizona isn't attracted to him. Arizona has been a great program. You could understand that.
Matt Jones
They need him. They need him because they lost their guy at that position. So, like, it still wouldn't be good. But if he goes to Louisville, I mean, it's like your wife leaving you to become a third wife for another Guy. It's kind of twofold for Louisville. Like, they don't need it. They don't need him.
Mark
Louisville could add a good player. He'd steal one of those forward spots. But at the same time, they could. I won't call it a death blow, but the hit it would be to Kentucky would be just as exciting for them as actually getting the talent.
Matt Jones
They should mock us if we don't.
Mark
I think they smell blood in Lexington
Matt Jones
if we get them. I'm not. Listen, I've seen all the trash talking. It's fine if you all get us. I. I mean, I'll tell you, Louisville fans, if he goes to Louisville, you should mock Kentucky. We need to take it. And you can, with your little short coach. Whatever. Now, if we get him, you can't be like, we want him. Like, stop. You want him. I. You don't necessarily. Yeah, but you don't necessarily need him. I'll give you. You don't need him, but you want him, so don't do this.
Shannon
Let me say we hear the Tyrone Stokes. We didn't want him.
Matt Jones
We didn't want him, and we wanted Tyrone Stokes, and Kansas did. Like, we can't go. I don't want him anyway. Like, you know, everybody wants him. All right, stop that. Everybody wants him, but we can't run
Mark
from the L. We'll be holding.
Matt Jones
If they don't get an L, we'll
Mark
just have to eat it.
Matt Jones
Speaking of elves, has there anybody ever been anybody who's post governor? Life has been like, matt, I didn't
Mark
know where you're going.
Matt Jones
I mean, seriously. I mean, Matt Bevin was the governor of this state. Now you can say whatever you want about governors. There's some prestige. Shannon, right? To be the governor, Right? Like you've got some. Like, you were the governor. How many living governors do we even have right now? Who's alive? Steve Beshear. Is Paul Patton alive? I don't know. I don't want to. Wilkinson is dead. Is Breton Jones alive? I feel like he died recently. Again, this. I'm getting in bad territory.
Mark
We don't want to just start killing.
Matt Jones
Don't know. Who are. These guys are alive. I know John Y. Brown died, right? I think he did.
Shannon
Some of these people may be listening, finding out that they're dead.
Matt Jones
Yeah. Listen, if you're listening, I'm. I want you to be. I hope all of you are alive. Yeah, you don't. You. Yeah, I want them all to be.
Shannon
I wish death upon any of our guys.
Mark
I think Paul Patton looks To be alive.
Matt Jones
I'm fairly certain Paul Patton's a lot. And then. He's alive. Steve Beshear is alive. I'm fairly certain Wallace Wilkinson has passed. I do not know about Breton Jones or. Yeah, he's. I guess the one. I don't know. I don't know how I got off on this.
Mark
Matt Bevin is Set her alive, Governor edition.
Matt Jones
Matt Bevin is certainly alive, but not doing great. So I don't fully understand the story with him and his adopted child. He adopted this child, the adopted child. Did they. Like he sent him back or. It was awful. Like, it was. It was a terrible story. But one of the adopted children is now an adult, but he is suing for some sort of support. I don't know what the legal. I don't know whether he has a legal argument or not. So I'm not weighing in on whether or not Matt Bevin should support this kid. I don't know. But here's what I do know. When a court tells you to show up, Shannon, you have to show up.
Shannon
Yeah.
Matt Jones
Regardless of what I mean, I didn't want to show up when the referee was. I didn't want. But you gotta go.
Mark
They take it pretty seriously.
Matt Jones
We had to go to Nebraska. Right. Like, sometimes you gotta. Jason, you gotta do what you want
Mark
when the court calls, you gotta be
Matt Jones
there when the court calls, you go and then you deal with it later. My man Matt Bevin was told to be in court in person a few weeks ago. Didn't show up. So they put out a warrant for him. And then he goes, sorry, sorry. I'll be there next time. Now usually you don't even get that, Shannon. That was probably governor privilege right there.
Shannon
Yep.
Matt Jones
Okay.
Shannon
Yep.
Matt Jones
Then they do it again. My man doesn't show up again. The judge calls a zoom and goes, get in here. And he gets in there and you know what? He looks at the judge and says, a boulder fell on my house in Maine.
Mark
I couldn't believe it. That's what you went with?
Matt Jones
First of all, is this Looney Tunes Wally Coyote?
Shannon
Gonna need a picture.
Matt Jones
A boulder fell on my house in Maine.
Mark
Do you not have a chain? Like chain.
Matt Jones
Exactly. Pineville could have taught them a. I
Mark
said, who lives under a boulder? How does this even happen?
Matt Jones
And don't you think of a boulder hit Matt Bevin's house? That make the news?
Shannon
And how is he zooming if a boulder's on his.
Matt Jones
Well, he apparently has wi Fi, but. But still has a boulder in his house.
Mark
See, if I'm the judge. If I'm the judge, I say you have one minute to show me a folder of this. A photo of this boulder.
Matt Jones
Yeah. I am not believing that.
Shannon
Live zoom.
Matt Jones
You now have 50 seconds to show
Mark
me a photo of the boulder.
Matt Jones
First of all, when did the boulder hit? My man was in Maine. Okay. Presumably, here's. Here's my skepticism. Leave aside, I think if a boulder hits a former governor's house, it makes. I mean, they put on the news when. When a restaurant has a new cheese stick. You think this would lead at least the Portland news. He got hit with a boulder, but court is at 9am in Louisville. He doesn't bother telling anybody. When did the boulder hit his house? If it hit it that morning, he ain't. What, making it. Anyway, there's no direct flight from Portland to Louisville that you get you there at 9am That's a good point. So he either needed to already be in Kentucky or the boulder hit him on Thursday and he. I think he could have called somebody.
Mark
And even if it happened, does he need to be there for the boulder? Is he the one.
Matt Jones
Was he under moving?
Mark
When we say we believe there's a boulder at all?
Shannon
Like, picture a boulder. Like, what do you consider a boulder?
Matt Jones
Well, see, when I hear boulder, I think, like, I think it's got to be huge.
Mark
I think like Indiana Jones running from one, rolling down the hill.
Matt Jones
Chain rock in Pineville. And it's pretty big. And they only call it a rock.
Shannon
It's true. A chain boulder.
Matt Jones
They don't call it chain boulder. So this has got to be. If I'm the judge, I'm like, I need to see Boulder in the kitchen, and I need some perspective on how big the size is of this thing.
Mark
I'm thinking that's what you went with. Of all the things you could have said, a boulder went through your house.
Matt Jones
There was trash.
Mark
Oh, I'm sick. I don't want to get you all sick.
Matt Jones
Got Ebola. Anything, Anything. But my man goes, a boulder fell off my house. He went looney tunes in Maine.
Mark
So will they. How does this work? What's next?
Matt Jones
Well, so apparently the judge yelled at him on the Zoom for left the arrest warrant on. And then I. This is why I don't understand. That afternoon, they removed the arrest warrant. So I don't know what happened at that point. I don't know if he like triple agreed to come the next time. I don't know.
Mark
His quote was, I have to deal with it.
Matt Jones
Like, what do you.
Mark
Are you out there moving the Boulder when you're supposed to be in court.
Matt Jones
He said, I have to deal with it.
Mark
Yeah, that was the exact sentence. A boulder hit my house, and I
Matt Jones
have to deal with it.
Shannon
Usually just call the insurance company. They can handle it.
Matt Jones
What kind of boulder is it that Matt Bevin can fix?
Mark
I need to see a picture of it.
Shannon
Pick this boulder up.
Matt Jones
This is where we do need we look. This is where it hurts that we don't have as much local news. Like, if this had happened in Kentucky, I can tell you Mario would not have had a weekend. He'd have gone boulder hunting, and he would have helped. Do you remember how many times on Hay Kentucky you and I did a story about Matt Bevin's house?
Mark
I was the Matt Bevin's house correspondent.
Matt Jones
We all called Matt Bevin's house 20 years and we never once talked about a boulder. That man has more problems with his houses than any person ever.
Shannon
It could happen to anybody.
Matt Jones
Killed it. Do you know what other person that had a boulder hit their house the day they were supposed to be in court?
Shannon
No, but it could happen. You live next to any rocks?
Matt Jones
I don't know. So you believe. You believe his house got hit by a bowl?
Shannon
I mean, that's a strange thing to just create. Like, if you're gonna come up with excuses, a boulder fell in my house would be probably well below 100 on the list. They're gonna be further down A boulder. I mean, it had to have happened.
Matt Jones
He should just gone with trees. I would have believed tree. There is a part of it that if it's that ridiculous, it almost right. But I still would say he could have let the court know. You know what I mean?
Shannon
Yeah.
Matt Jones
Like, he didn't have to just not
Mark
show up like you said he was. If he was in Maine, he wasn't going to make it with him.
Matt Jones
He wasn't making it either way.
Mark
I respect the audacity to say it.
Shannon
How are there not any pictures or video or anything, though?
Matt Jones
Can you imagine if you're the judge and you're like, all right, what's he going to come up with this?
Shannon
I got friends like that.
Ryan Seacrest
Sorry, man.
Shannon
Can't hang out tonight. Boulder hit my house.
Mark
I'm gonna start using this.
Shannon
I've got friends just like that.
Matt Jones
Kentucky Joe. Go ahead.
Shannon
Oh, hang on. Let me get him ready here. Okay. There you go. Go ahead.
Matt Jones
Go, Joe.
Caller
This is definitely a funny morning. It made me laugh. I needed that.
Matt Jones
Good.
Caller
I've had an interesting last month of May, but I want to say happy Summer to you all first.
Matt Jones
Well, happy Summer to you.
Caller
Yeah, it's official. First day of summer and I felt like, I guess Ryan's doing all right, isn't he?
Matt Jones
He's doing better. I mean he got, he came out there and it was good to have him on the show. Surprised us by giving his diagnosis, but I think it was good for him. And then now people have been reaching out to him and he's gotten to talk to people and so that's, that's good.
Caller
Yeah, yeah, I've seen it on Facebook. I had something similar. Some of you all there, I guess maybe never did know, but I could talk about it. But always check that prostate, man.
Matt Jones
Well, God bless you.
Caller
I like to, I like to see Milan. I should be able to say his name. Let's see Milan.
Matt Jones
Yeah, don't even, don't try. It's fine. Just Milan is good.
Caller
Milan, Milan. And this ace Kasinski to be honor be on the show one day, a wonderful interview and, and then maybe I call in and I could sing him.
Matt Jones
Yeah, we're not gonna sing to him until he signs. Yeah. I appreciate the call, Joe. I hope you continue. Nice to hear from you. We need him to sign before we break out the songs. I was talking to Debbie Green the other day. That's bringing in the Green.

You can't stop the boulder.
Shannon
No.
Matt Jones
Once it starts, it's 9280-2287 Text Machine, 772-774-5254. One person writes, Matt, the judge said, of course you got to show up in court. Matt, have you been living under a rock?
Mark
Beautiful.
Matt Jones
Sorry. That's a really good joke. And so I have 932 9. Kudos. I just like, you don't ever hear, like, when's the last time Ernie Fletcher's been in the news? He seems to live just a normal existence.
Mark
Just go get a road named after you. Live a happy life.
Matt Jones
No. So we have. We have three Living former governors. Okay, we've got Steve Beshear, four Paul Patton, Ernie Fletcher, and Matt Bevin.
Mark
We almost lost Matt Bevin or Boulder, though.
Matt Jones
Thank goodness.
Shannon
Close call.
Matt Jones
That we. That. That. That we didn't. Eight, five. All right, so NBA Finals. We have hit the Finals. Knick spurs. Who are you for? Got Kentucky guys on both teams.
Mark
Well, before the year began, Mario did a video with us, and I said the spurs were going to win the title, and I really want him to repost that. So I look smart, but honestly, other than wanting to just flex and say I called it, I'd be very happy for Carl and The Knicks After 27 years of not even and I. What the Garden in that city would look like if they were to win it. Wimby's gonna end up with a closet full of trophies. I don't know how often the Knicks will get this opportunity.
Matt Jones
Yeah, the.
Caller
The.
Matt Jones
The Finals, the Western Conference had a very strong Kentucky flavor. At one point in the fourth quarter, Kentucky had hit five threes, and Shea was not one of them.
Mark
Case and Wallace was keeping them in it.
Matt Jones
Case and they're not even in the game without Case and Wallace. Kelton Johnson had a couple big plays, Dear. And Fox hit a three. Shea had 35 points in the game. I do. You do have to note about that game. Two things. Chad has to quit sports and do go into professional something else. Shannon, that was Chad. He's got to stop now. Like. Like, I don't know what you do if you're Chad.
Shannon
Well, Wendy just abused him the entire.
Matt Jones
And you know, you've got a lifetime full of that if you're Chad.
Mark
He's my new algorithm. If I open Twitter right now, it will be all Chad Holgram hate chat. Trade him.
Matt Jones
And then what's Alex Caruso thinking? He could dunk on Wimby. What are you. What are you trying to do?
Mark
I respect it. The effort.
Matt Jones
I don't know. It was the smartest play.
Mark
Also, Luke Cornett with a cornet Chase
Matt Jones
down LeBron block and Hardenstein. That was a good steal. But, like. All right, pull it out. Yeah, you know, we're pulling out. You don't need to go one on three. Hartenstein. Yeah, I mean, I'm happy for. It's going to be cool seeing three Kentucky guys playing in the NBA Finals. That's neat. And I'm. I'm. Let's go, Carl. I'm for Carl. No offense to Kelton and Dear, and I hope they do well, but I'm all Carl.
Mark
Yeah. Just with it being with the Knicks. I didn't grow up not liking the Knicks. I was a Reggie guy. But watching how excited they get here lately for just winning a regular series, I can't imagine what that's going to look like with them in the Finals.
Matt Jones
Yeah, I've. I mean, I've never really had an NBA team that I. That I love. Loved. It's kind of been dependent on where Kentucky guys were. I mean, at various times in my life, I cheered for the Pistons because of Tayshawn. You know, I've cheered for the Sacramento because of DeMarcus.
Mark
I was all in on the Kings.
Matt Jones
You know, I cheered for the Lakers when Anthony Davis was in it. So I. But to the extent that I have a team that I cheer for, it's the Knicks. They're not on my Reds, Bears, Canes level, but I still. So I like them. And then I really like Carl. I just feel like, you know, he's. People give him such a hard time. It's. He's an easy guy to kind of pick on. I think it would be really good to see him get this success and then people can't say anything anymore. Like you win a title in your hometown. First time the Knicks have won since when did they win? In like the 70s, you know, you got that. He'll have that for the rest of his life. He'll never have in New York. He'll be king forever.
Mark
Yeah. And such a good guy. He gets his jokes. But Carl's the best and I want it for him. Although also Darren Fox was one of my favorites. I'm happy he's there at this stage in the career. Just head to head. Either way, it's a win. Win.
Matt Jones
Kevin Johnson's a dude we forget played here.
Mark
See, I.
Matt Jones
You know what I mean? I mean like, he's a dude that you just forget. When I'm doing my rankings and stuff, I always forget him. And he was a baller here and he's going to be. He was six man of the year this year.
Mark
Back when we did the recruiting trips where we'd go profile player. I drew Kelden and went to his hometown, interviewed him. So I kind of feel a closer connection to him too. Just thrilled for all of them. And I got to shout out Carmelo Anthony on the pregame broadcast. He put out a draftkings parlay that was all Kentucky guys. And I tailed it and it hit. So shout out to Carmelo for the BBN parlay the other night.
Matt Jones
Mellow. Let's go to Jordan. Go Ahead, Jordan.
Caller
Hey, Matt, good to talk this morning. I wanted to one shout out really quick. Ranny Blount, he played for Kentucky football team back in the 60s and he was like a Kentucky grandfather to me. Growing up in the state of Georgia didn't have many Kentucky family and friends and his funeral service was today. So God bless.
Matt Jones
God bless him.
Caller
And then as far as the advertisements, I'm a, I teach elementary so I look up a lot of kids projects and for years Google has pinned me as a single mom trying to pull things together. So it'll never.
Matt Jones
I hope you're able, appreciate the call, Jordan. I hope you're able to get it together and you know, single bomb, still trying to make it.
Mark
Once an algorithm gets its claws on you, it's hard to get away from it.
Matt Jones
Yeah. Well, and but to be fair, sometimes it knows exactly, you know what I mean? Like when I'm also on the 90s country algorithm and I can be flipping through there and Mark Chestnut singing at the grand ole Opry in 1992 comes up. Shannon and I do enjoy it.
Shannon
Yeah, sometimes it gets it right. But there's a lot of times where it doesn't. You're like, I really don't want this. I know I watched that one video, but I don't want it. This all the time.
Matt Jones
Jeff. Go ahead, Jeff.
Caller
Hey guys, just checking in. UK grad here was, was a kid when we won in 96. Just to scale. Been back in Pope as loyally as I can, calling balls and strikes as I see him. But I'll tell you, I think this is a glaring symptom of not having a staunch, firm voice in the room, I. E. A gm. We've got this lengthy back and forth recruiting process again and for me, my chip is going on either side of the scale whether we get Milan or not. That could change with success this season, hopefully. But just checking in and wanting to get your opinion.
Matt Jones
Yeah, I mean it's all going to come. No, we do. I appreciate the call. That's, you know, but he's, I appreciate it. He's, he's cast his lottie and he's not going to have it and he's going to rise or fall on that. I think it's a huge mistake. I think whenever the new ad comes in, whoever that is, by the way, dude, I mean, what about that? You know, I mean we like June 30th is like 30 days away.
Mark
Usually you'd want the person, maybe a little bit of crossover.
Matt Jones
No crossover.
Mark
Just gonna come in.
Matt Jones
I mean, not even know his office.
Mark
Yeah.
Matt Jones
I mean, yeah, the decisions of the last few months are what they are, but if you want to get a bounce up going into the season, this is it. Plus, I just think your team will be significantly better if you get him. Put PR aside. They'd just be better. You have a chance to be good. I don't know if we have a chance to be good otherwise, like really good. So we'll take a break. Be right back. Ksr

Now more of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage. Here's Matt Jones.
Matt Jones
Welcome back Tiki Sports Radio. 859-280-2287. So text machine 772-774-5254. One person writes. Matt, any updates on the Crawford on the open assistant job and Jamal Crawford? I mean, I, they better get Jamal Crawford or else why did we wait so long?
Mark
Yeah, that job's been open for months.
Matt Jones
They get Jamal Crawford. It makes sense because his time just finished with the, with the playoffs. But if they don't, then why did we do that? Like, why did we wait a month and a half?
Mark
Goes back to Reading the room. Did you think you were going to get them? And you just waited and now all the other candidates are gone. I mean, it's going to be hard to steal an assistant when they're reporting for summer workouts with their current team.
Matt Jones
So I don't know.
Mark
Hopefully it's him. That'd be some good news to bring to the table if that happens.
Matt Jones
I'd love to have him have him if we can.
Mark
Saturday was his last day. The NBC doesn't have any of the finals coverage, so that was his last game.
Matt Jones
Yeah. Are you, are you going, Shannon, at all to rail Bird this weekend?
Shannon
No. No, I won't be going. What about you? You going?
Matt Jones
I'm gonna, I'm going Sunday, assuming. Yeah, I'm gonna go Sunday. I want to see Tyler. So it's like, it's, it's like a who's who of my people. Tyler, Zach, top Ella Langley.
Mark
You're an Ella fellow.
Matt Jones
We've been over this, but that'll be awesome. I think it's going to be crazy. I'll be the last day the bars ever is open too, so. And it could be Kentucky and Cal Poly, depending on what happens.
Mark
Could be a huge weekend in Lexington.
Matt Jones
Well, it's going to be. I get a sense that Rail Bird. This feels like the most buzz for rail Bird since the year they Had Tyler and Zach Brian together. Right? Yeah.
Mark
I've gone every. I missed one year, but I've gone every other year. I love it. They, they, they had the iffy situation early of water years ago at Keeneland. But ever since it's been pretty smooth and a fun event. Now the headliners this year, it is huge.
Matt Jones
I mean, but you know, I mean it's like all the people and the grass and the sun, like it's a lot.
Mark
See, I don't mind that. Put me in it. Sun. Sun can be a big.
Shannon
What's wrong with people? Grass and sun. This sounds like a party. Sounds like a lot better.
Mark
No grass.
Caller
Yeah.
Mark
Yeah.
Matt Jones
I need a chair.
Mark
You can take a chair.
Matt Jones
You're allowed to take a chair.
Mark
Might need a chair pass. But people have chairs in there. Okay.
Matt Jones
I want to. If I can get a chair.
Mark
They have areas to cool off.
Matt Jones
Okay.
Shannon
You got to bring your own chair though, right?
Matt Jones
They let you just bring in chairs? What is this? A table ladder and chairs match?
Shannon
Yeah, I mean, you can do that. Bourbon and Beyond.
Matt Jones
Okay, so you can bring in your own chair, but you have to pay. How much do you pay for it?
Shannon
You're asking the wrong. I've never been to Railbird Fest. I don't. I don't know.
Mark
I could at Bourbon Beyond. You had to get like a chair pass to pay for it. I'll look up the case for Real Bird, but most festivals you're allowed to bring in a chair.
Matt Jones
Okay, well, I want to. I want to go. I think it'd be fun. It seems like every.
Mark
Like.
Matt Jones
Seems like the whole cities getting amped up for it. So that's good. And who's Saturday? It's the Lumineers.
Mark
Mountain Joy. Is that a thing?
Matt Jones
I don't know what that is.
Mark
Camp.
Matt Jones
I think Stephen Wilson's playing, but he's playing like 3:30 in the afternoon, I think.
Mark
Yeah, yeah. It's the luminaires of the headliner. Then camp with two A's.
Matt Jones
I don't know what that.
Mark
And then Mount Joy.
Matt Jones
Yeah. Feels like they got the wallflowers. Oh, well, I do like the walls gonna be there. That's right. Kim Pom. What time do the wallflowers play?
Mark
I just have the poster now with the Times, but they are. They're one of the smaller fonts, so I'd say early.
Matt Jones
Give the wall flowers respect. They're bigger than camp.
Shannon
They. They are. They're way bigger than camp. What's your favorite camp song?
Matt Jones
I don't know exactly.
Shannon
You don't know.
Matt Jones
Kumbaya, my lord.
Mark
Sunday campfires. You want.
Matt Jones
You want to pass it on?
Mark
Also in the small font on Sunday are the Creekers. I love the Creekers. Have you been listening to them?
Matt Jones
Yes. I know.
Mark
Sundays would be the day for me.
Matt Jones
My canes made the Stanley cup finals.
Mark
Congratulations. See the hat? That's a cane set, right?
Matt Jones
It is very exciting. Watched it Friday night. Watched it into the night. Just watching videos. I want to try to go to a game. I'm trying to figure out what one would make sense and literally can I do. I want to pay. What would it cost? It's against Vegas. They're good. Should be a good matchup. Through the course of the series, I became very into the TNT broadcast. You know how over the years, Shannon, I've told you there are people that I just decide I don't like because they're too handsome?
Shannon
Yeah. Yeah.
Matt Jones
Tom Brady has always been at the top of this. There's a hockey guy like that now, too. A hockey guy? Henrik Lungvist. He's on the TV broadcast.
Mark
Yeah. He's married to somebody famous, Right?
Matt Jones
He used to be a goalie and now he's. He's like our age. Look him up. You shouldn't be allowed to be that handsome at our age.
Mark
I'm familiar with Henry or Henrik.
Matt Jones
Yeah.
Shannon
He'd be in a soap opera.
Matt Jones
He does look like he'd be in a soap opera. That's a good call.
Shannon
Yeah.
Matt Jones
And so I've just decided, just for no reason other than. Than his handsomeness, get him out of here. He's like Tom Brady. You should not be our age and look like that.
Shannon
So he's a goalie. So he has all of his teeth.
Matt Jones
That's the thing, is you would think at some point he would got knocked in the head. Yeah.
Mark
Usually hockey players.
Matt Jones
Hockey players usually deformed, especially old ones. They usually have broken their nose a few times. And not him.
Mark
Not Henry.
Matt Jones
So just be watching that during the Stanley cup finals. See if your anger gets. If you get his angry fight.
Shannon
I mean, I don't know. Maybe that's why he looks like they
Matt Jones
call him Hank, which I don't think. Is that a. Is that short for Henrik?
Mark
For Henry. I guess it works for Henrik, too, huh? Know a few Hanks?
Matt Jones
Yeah.
Mark
I have a bad railbird update. No chairs of any kind allowed.
Shannon
Well, sit on the ground, people.
Mark
I'm looking at the list of what's prohibited.
Matt Jones
What's the weather? Is the weather supposed to be good? I'm not going in the Rain for any of these people?
Shannon
Man, you're a diva.
Matt Jones
Do you want them to play at your house? Yes, I would love to if they would like to play at my house.
Mark
Baby strollers are allowed. Maybe I could. You could sit on that.
Shannon
You could get a cabana for 30 grand.
Matt Jones
30 grand?
Shannon
Yeah.
Matt Jones
That's what it cost.
Shannon
I think that's what I just saw a minute ago.
Mark
Yeah.
Matt Jones
Are you kidding me? Wow.
Shannon
You know.
Matt Jones
All right. I just wanted a chair. Jacob. Go ahead, Jacob.
Shannon
Yep, 30 grand cabana.
Matt Jones
Two days, 85. So it's going to be. Is it sunny? So it's going to be hot.
Mark
Mostly cloudy, it says. Okay, well, that's high of 85.
Matt Jones
That might not be bad. Go ahead, Jacob.
Caller
Hey, guys. I just got word that a boulder fell on Milan Agent's office, and that's what.
Matt Jones
Is that the hold up? Fair enough. I could see that.
Caller
But on a serious note, I think we're kind of sleeping on this team. I mean, we need Milan. I'm not going to front, but, I mean, it's got to be more appealing to come to Kentucky. I mean, Pat Kelsey had a great team last year and still couldn't beat a top 25 team. You know, like, I feel like if we give Mark Pope a chance with a really good team, we're going to have really good results.
Matt Jones
I agree with you, but at the same time, I. I don't under. Like, if I'm trying to look at it objectively. Well, let's just. Let's just do this, Jacob. It's a thought exercise. Why would he pick Louisville? Okay, more money. Kentucky, more playing time. Kentucky offense centered around new. More. Kentucky, bigger fan base. Kentucky, bigger nil opportunity. Kentucky, more historic program. Kentucky.
Mark
So Nike over Adidas.
Matt Jones
Nike over Adidas. Kentucky. So now you have to. Well, I mean, do we know that? I mean, we don't know that. I'm not saying he's not, but, like, neither one of them. Respectfully, neither one of them have done a lot. Right?
Caller
I mean, Pope's got more top 25 wins and.
Matt Jones
Okay, fair enough. Okay, but. Okay, so let me just give you that then. All right? Let me just give you that the coach is better because I. I think you're probably right. So then what is the reason he would go to Louisville? And if you can't come up with a reason and then he still goes there, that means there are reasons. And we need to look at ourselves in the face and say, what are the reasons? Like, objectively looking at. I'm with you, Jacob. If you're looking at it objectively, it feels like everything should be in Kentucky's favor. So. But I don't want to be such a homer that if he goes to Louisville I just go, well he's stupid. If he picks Louisville with all of the factors on Kentucky's favor in our minds, then that means either A, there's something we don't know or B we might have to relook at these factors and they're not what we think they are. And that's worrisome.
Caller
Do you think he sees a better lot if he does pick Louis? I don't think he's going to. I think he's going to be Kentucky. I mean I just, I got a gut feeling. But do you think he sees a better team at Louisville this year?
Matt Jones
Maybe, maybe.
Mark
I think that's the one.
Matt Jones
Maybe that's a little bit of a higher. I appreciate the call. Maybe that's the one thing on the side. But. But you know this is hard to talk about because people, you know, I don't want another round of Matt Jones hates the program KSR like but at some point if player after player shows up at this school and visits and we're the favorite and we don't get them, don't you have to ask why at some point?
Mark
Definitely. It's a huge concern and maybe it's
Matt Jones
just because the vibes are not immaculate when you're here. Now maybe we get him and none of this matters. But I'm just saying like at some point when things aren't going your way, you have to have a self reflective view and go why? Right. And I, you know, I don't know because object. You just look at the objective facts. It seems like Kentucky should be a no brainer pick.
Mark
Just not even with him, with anyone. If you tell me Kentucky basketball has more money on the table than anyone else on their list, I would think in most cases that should be a win. Kentucky already has enough built in advantages or should if you then have also have the most money to offer them.
Matt Jones
I.
Mark
How is that not like a recipe for success? We can't buy players, then we got big problems.
Matt Jones
You know what, that's it. That's actually a good way of putting it. If we can't even buy Providence ball players this year everybody worried that Kentucky
Mark
might fall behind because other teams will have more money. We have more money. This should be a slam dunk.
Matt Jones
Yeah, so. So yes, I mean I think, listen, you put my, you put my hand up to the Bible. I still think we're going to probably get kidding. But if we don't, you know, here's some questions to ask. Just like there's questions about Stockton Morgans,
Shannon

Matt Jones
The good thing about Railbird if the if the weather's good, get my my base tan.
Mark
I got a little burn at the golf.
Shannon
Got it. I got it yesterday.
Matt Jones
Yeah, I got it at the golf. Scramble, too. But now you could get like a base. Oh, by the way, I, I hope you enjoyed the game, but my team won. You went to the only game we lost.
Shannon
That's right. Yeah, the wrong team won. But we took two out of three. That's all right.
Matt Jones
Take two out of three. I was glad we won one.
Shannon
Ellie, I'm worried about that hammy issue.
Matt Jones
Yeah. Hopefully it's just like a temporary thing. Yeah, we stink. But that's okay. We'll take a break. Be right back.

Mark
I'm glad to have you here.
Matt Jones
Yeah, it was.
Caller
It's close.
Matt Jones
I mean it wasn't like it was close. I was just walking across the street. This person was turning left crosswalk.
Caller
Legally.
Matt Jones
Legally had the thing. I wasn't jaywalking. Girl was turning left looking down at her phone Nearly just plowed me over.
Mark
It would have been a tough way to go.
Matt Jones
Would have been. So she stops. I look in the window and go, what are you doing? She's like. She's like, sorry, I'm doing doordash. First of all, that's not an excuse for hitting people.
Mark
I don't think that'll get you out of.
Matt Jones
I. I'm gonna doordash your body. I don't practice now, but you're not allowed just to just, well, doordash. And she said. And then she goes, sorry, I'm lost. And I'll. And then when I walked away, I thought, you're right next to Rupperina. You're doing doordash in Lexington, Shannon. And you're lost at. In the middle of downtown.
Shannon
That's a problem. Yeah.
Ryan Seacrest
You.
Matt Jones
Maybe you need a different profession.
Mark
I'll be built for that.
Matt Jones
If you're not. If you. If you are at RUP arena and, like, no clue where I am now
Mark
and turning into a crosswalk, not looking,
Matt Jones
where do I go? This is rubber. It's the only place you should know.
Mark
So she's delivering a lot of cold food when she's not trying to hit people.
Shannon
Yeah.
Matt Jones
So I know it was. It was closer than it should be,
Mark
but glad you're here.
Matt Jones
I did look around and go to anybody see that? And I thought the answer was no.
Shannon
Everybody was on their phone.
Matt Jones
Incorrect. I get a lot of questions that I. And I thought this would be a good time to answer about podcasts, the Apple podcast app in the Spotify. And all of it's like, I get the same question probably five times a day. It'll say something like, the show won't play for me today. Or it says, I downloaded it and I didn't. Or why didn't you put up hour two? Okay, here's the way to fix 98% of the podcast problems. Restart your phone. That will almost always fix it. Second thing, delete the unsubscribe, delete the shows, and then resubscribe. It will almost always work beyond that, right, Shannon?
Shannon
No, don't do that.
Matt Jones
That's the last. Restart your phone. Unsubscribe, delete, resubscribe, call Shannon.
Shannon
Get blocked. Get blocked by Shannon.
Matt Jones
Those are the ways. But that will almost always work. And it happens. Especially if, like, one hour, it says it's downloaded and it just won't play. That's you. If you did. If you will delete it and then come back, it'll almost always work. Joey, go ahead. Joey,
Caller
How y' all doing good. So I was calling because. Right. You know, the right incident, Freeman and Stokes. Stokes was a disaster. Now you've got Milan and it's heading in the same way. All the hype, it's cooling off. I think report today that Hampton may be visiting. I heard people talking like Pope may be moving.
Matt Jones
Don't listen to people. Don't listen to people. Let there. Don't listen to random people. Just. I mean, he is visiting. Listen to that. But, like, nothing's cooled off or gotten hotter. He just hasn't made his decision yet.
Caller
So from all the recruiting disasters, the Mo Williams with the tweet was Stokes. Because Stokes was.
Matt Jones
That was a mistake. Yeah.
Caller
This feels like a dollar store management trying to operate Amazon. Kentucky basketball fans should not be having to deal with this, man. We're too good of fans. This fan base. And if Crawford comes, I mean, why would he. But if he comes, I'd love it, actually. I'd love it if he would come. And actually, if something was to happen towards the end of the year, he could stay. But I'm just saying it's a disaster, man. Whether smoke, there's fire, something is not right. And it seems like Pope is going to die on the hill that he's on without changing anything. And I would have never thought that.
Matt Jones
Yeah, Well, I appreciate. I appreciate the call. I will say. I mean, I don't agree with everything you said, but this surprising inflexibility and changing and not changing has been surprising to me. Jacob. Go ahead, Jacob.
Caller
The one thing that got me is if you heard John Wall talk about his recruit with North Carolina. He. He said he got on campus and went to talk to Tyler Hansborough. And Tyler said, I don't talk to recruits. And he's like, that just put me off. And that's when he was fair. He was going to Kentucky. I was just curious if there was something that's going on on campus that can be.
Matt Jones
Well, I mean, it could. Listen, we don't know. I appreciate the call. I do think it is a completely reasonable question to see. Does Mark Pope bond with these dudes on the visits. I think that's a fair question. I mean. But do I know that? No. But I also think, like, to bury our heads in the sand if we don't get this kid and think, well, it's the way it goes. I just don't think you can do that forever. But we might get him and none of this matters. So we'll see. All right. So the game tonight's at 6:00 clock tomorrow and Wednesday I'm not here. I have to do a little medical thing. I hope to be back Thursday, but. But the rest of the crew will be here and there's obviously gonna be a lot to talk about. Do we beat West Virginia tonight?
Mark
I'll say yes.
Matt Jones
Shannon.
Shannon
Yeah, I'm not confident, but we got joking right? Starting at least, we think we do
Matt Jones
well for a little bit.
Shannon
Yeah. Okay.
Matt Jones
I'm gonna say we win, but if
Shannon
we don't, you won't be here tomorrow anyway, so.
Matt Jones
That's right. Y' all can deal with it. We'll see you later soon. KSR.
