And it's, it's, it's not just, it's political, but it's not political. Like Democrats, Republicans. Like, it's not partisan. Like everybody should have the same concern. And it's spiritual. It's like a lot of, like, it goes to the core of what does it mean to be a human being. And when you see these, like the one dude just escaped to Argentina.

Do you, I mean Shannon, you know this guy I've been telling everybody to be worried about for years, this Peter Thiel guy.

The guy looks like he's made of plastic. Who started all this stuff? Yeah, started. But he's a big part of all this stuff. He just announced, yeah, I'm moving to Argentina. I don't think we need to be in the United States right now. What?

He's worried about the future of America. Like, dude, you're the one doing all this. Leave us here and you're going now go to Argentina with the dude with the crazy hair, backed his kids up and left us like that. That's to me, like the biggest. The guy who's like at the center of literally going on in the New York Times and saying, I maybe we've moved beyond humans. That's his quote, not mine. He's now like, yeah, I'm packing up to go to Argentina.

Does Argentina not have AI?

No, but Argentina's got like this crazy right wing guy that like, you know, protects. He's. He's big with the tech people. Right? So, you know, so, yeah, you're gonna hear me keep saying it because in like, how could you not? In other news, one person writes, matt, my Louisville friends are already mocking me today that they're going to get Milan and we're not. What should I say? Well, I would say nothing until he makes his decision. Because I'll be honest with you, if he goes to Louisville, they should mock us. Like I would mock.

They don't even need them. They're just getting.

That's what I'm saying. Like, they don't even need him. And if they get him with less money. With less. If they offer less money. No, don't even have really a starting spot for him, although he might win one. And he goes there almost just for the heck of it. Yeah, they should mock us. They should mock us nonstop. You, mark, cannot lose this guy to Louisville. If he goes to Arizona, it's going to stink. But what, I mean, whatever. But if he loses him to Louisville, like, that can't happen.

Yeah. Even though you would think the brand of basketball at Arizona isn't attracted to him. Arizona has been a great program. You could understand that.

They need him. They need him because they lost their guy at that position. So, like, it still wouldn't be good. But if he goes to Louisville, I mean, it's like your wife leaving you to become a third wife for another Guy. It's kind of twofold for Louisville. Like, they don't need it. They don't need him.

Louisville could add a good player. He'd steal one of those forward spots. But at the same time, they could. I won't call it a death blow, but the hit it would be to Kentucky would be just as exciting for them as actually getting the talent.

They should mock us if we don't.

Like you've got some. Like, you were the governor. How many living governors do we even have right now? Who's alive? Steve Beshear. Is Paul Patton alive? I don't know. I don't want to. Wilkinson is dead. Is Breton Jones alive? I feel like he died recently. Again, this. I'm getting in bad territory.

We don't want to just start killing.

Don't know. Who are. These guys are alive. I know John Y. Brown died, right? I think he did.

Matt Bevin is certainly alive, but not doing great. So I don't fully understand the story with him and his adopted child. He adopted this child, the adopted child. Did they. Like he sent him back or. It was awful. Like, it was. It was a terrible story. But one of the adopted children is now an adult, but he is suing for some sort of support. I don't know what the legal. I don't know whether he has a legal argument or not. So I'm not weighing in on whether or not Matt Bevin should support this kid. I don't know. But here's what I do know. When a court tells you to show up, Shannon, you have to show up.

Regardless of what I mean, I didn't want to show up when the referee was. I didn't want. But you gotta go.

First of all, when did the boulder hit? My man was in Maine. Okay. Presumably, here's. Here's my skepticism. Leave aside, I think if a boulder hits a former governor's house, it makes. I mean, they put on the news when. When a restaurant has a new cheese stick. You think this would lead at least the Portland news. He got hit with a boulder, but court is at 9am in Louisville. He doesn't bother telling anybody. When did the boulder hit his house? If it hit it that morning, he ain't. What, making it. Anyway, there's no direct flight from Portland to Louisville that you get you there at 9am That's a good point. So he either needed to already be in Kentucky or the boulder hit him on Thursday and he. I think he could have called somebody.

And even if it happened, does he need to be there for the boulder? Is he the one.

Well, see, when I hear boulder, I think, like, I think it's got to be huge.

They don't call it chain boulder. So this has got to be. If I'm the judge, I'm like, I need to see Boulder in the kitchen, and I need some perspective on how big the size is of this thing.

Well, so apparently the judge yelled at him on the Zoom for left the arrest warrant on. And then I. This is why I don't understand. That afternoon, they removed the arrest warrant. So I don't know what happened at that point. I don't know if he like triple agreed to come the next time. I don't know.

His quote was, I have to deal with it.

Like, what do you.

Are you out there moving the Boulder when you're supposed to be in court.

This is where we do need we look. This is where it hurts that we don't have as much local news. Like, if this had happened in Kentucky, I can tell you Mario would not have had a weekend. He'd have gone boulder hunting, and he would have helped. Do you remember how many times on Hay Kentucky you and I did a story about Matt Bevin's house?

I was the Matt Bevin's house correspondent.

We all called Matt Bevin's house 20 years and we never once talked about a boulder. That man has more problems with his houses than any person ever.

Killed it. Do you know what other person that had a boulder hit their house the day they were supposed to be in court?

No, but it could happen. You live next to any rocks?

I mean, that's a strange thing to just create. Like, if you're gonna come up with excuses, a boulder fell in my house would be probably well below 100 on the list. They're gonna be further down A boulder. I mean, it had to have happened.

He should just gone with trees. I would have believed tree. There is a part of it that if it's that ridiculous, it almost right. But I still would say he could have let the court know. You know what I mean?

Yeah. Just with it being with the Knicks. I didn't grow up not liking the Knicks. I was a Reggie guy. But watching how excited they get here lately for just winning a regular series, I can't imagine what that's going to look like with them in the Finals.

Yeah, I've. I mean, I've never really had an NBA team that I. That I love. Loved. It's kind of been dependent on where Kentucky guys were. I mean, at various times in my life, I cheered for the Pistons because of Tayshawn. You know, I've cheered for the Sacramento because of DeMarcus.

I was all in on the Kings.

[Matt Jones]

You know, I cheered for the Lakers when Anthony Davis was in it. So I. But to the extent that I have a team that I cheer for, it's the Knicks. They're not on my Reds, Bears, Canes level, but I still. So I like them. And then I really like Carl. I just feel like, you know, he's. People give him such a hard time. It's. He's an easy guy to kind of pick on. I think it would be really good to see him get this success and then people can't say anything anymore. Like you win a title in your hometown. First time the Knicks have won since when did they win? In like the 70s, you know, you got that. He'll have that for the rest of his life. He'll never have in New York. He'll be king forever.

Yeah. And such a good guy. He gets his jokes. But Carl's the best and I want it for him. Although also Darren Fox was one of my favorites. I'm happy he's there at this stage in the career. Just head to head. Either way, it's a win. Win.

So then what is the reason he would go to Louisville? And if you can't come up with a reason and then he still goes there, that means there are reasons. And we need to look at ourselves in the face and say, what are the reasons? Like, objectively looking at. I'm with you, Jacob. If you're looking at it objectively, it feels like everything should be in Kentucky's favor. So. But I don't want to be such a homer that if he goes to Louisville I just go, well he's stupid. If he picks Louisville with all of the factors on Kentucky's favor in our minds, then that means either A, there's something we don't know or B we might have to relook at these factors and they're not what we think they are. And that's worrisome.

Do you think he sees a better lot if he does pick Louis? I don't think he's going to. I think he's going to be Kentucky. I mean I just, I got a gut feeling. But do you think he sees a better team at Louisville this year?

Maybe, maybe.

Maybe that's a little bit of a higher. I appreciate the call. Maybe that's the one thing on the side. But. But you know this is hard to talk about because people, you know, I don't want another round of Matt Jones hates the program KSR like but at some point if player after player shows up at this school and visits and we're the favorite and we don't get them, don't you have to ask why at some point?

Definitely. It's a huge concern and maybe it's

just because the vibes are not immaculate when you're here. Now maybe we get him and none of this matters. But I'm just saying like at some point when things aren't going your way, you have to have a self reflective view and go why? Right. And I, you know, I don't know because object. You just look at the objective facts. It seems like Kentucky should be a no brainer pick.

Just not even with him, with anyone. If you tell me Kentucky basketball has more money on the table than anyone else on their list, I would think in most cases that should be a win. Kentucky already has enough built in advantages or should if you then have also have the most money to offer them.

You know what, that's it. That's actually a good way of putting it. If we can't even buy Providence ball players this year everybody worried that Kentucky

Or why didn't you put up hour two? Okay, here's the way to fix 98% of the podcast problems. Restart your phone. That will almost always fix it. Second thing, delete the unsubscribe, delete the shows, and then resubscribe. It will almost always work beyond that, right, Shannon?

I was just curious if there was something that's going on on campus that can be.
