It's like, first of all, both things can be true.

It's. I don't understand the league when it comes to her.

She is your biggest star. She's not the best player, but she's your biggest star. And it seems like sometimes they. They. They don't want to market her, which I don't understand. I agree. Like, there's one WNBA player that's on a Gatorade commercial, one that's on a State Farm commercial. Yes. She is the reason people are more interested in the wnba. But a foul's a foul. If she committed that foul, give her a flag and fly. Kick her out of the game.

But she's not the first person. I mean, Draymond Green punched LeBron in the. In the Cajones in a finals game. Congress didn't, like, pass a resolution about it.

Wimby slapped Brunson pretty good last final.

So I think it's. I think everyone. I actually feel sorry for her.

I know it's crazy because she's got a lot of money. She'll be fine.

But can you imagine what it would be like that every move you make becomes a political issue? And as far as I can tell, she hasn't asked for any of it. Have you?

It's the most bizarre. I heard Chuck Klosterman and Bill Simmons talking about this. It's the most bizarre thing I've ever seen. It's like the league feels like if she's too big a star, it hurts the rest of the league.

That's the best pre game atmosphere I remember at a Kentucky football game. I think this one is gonna.

I think so too, with the new coach. Even Stoops had crazy crowds early on. The first Stoop spring game was like a real football game of people tailgating. It's just when you hit that reset, you want to show support and you're in your new guy. And Will's done such a good job in this off season, I think people will be.

told me I had to go to Bristol for that week, I said, look, I've got To be back for UK Alabama, Sure. I was like, I'm sorry. Like, I have to be back.

government, just make the athletes employees, then you can collectively bargain and then you won't need the government.

Well, speaking of Lincoln, there was a lot of turmoil during the Civil War. In 1864, Confederate soldiers attacked Hardensburg and burned the courthouse. Luckily, most of the important county records survived. In 1865, infamous Confederate fighter Jerome Clark, or people know him as Sue Monday was captured near the county line in the 1950s.

Wiley Rutledge Jr. Wiley Blunt. So he was part of the new deal supreme court and he was from Breckenridge county.

Sitting just south of Louisville, Bullock county was formed in 1797 from parts of Jefferson and Nelson counties. The county seat is Shepherdsville. The county is named for Alexander Scott Bullet, Kentucky's first lieutenant governor. His uncle, Thomas Bullet, discovered Bullets Lick in 1773. Bullets Lick is a salt lick a few miles west of Shepherdsville, historically a popular spot for animals like buffalo and deer to get salt and minerals. Production began in 1770.

The process was extremely difficult and described as hell on earth. Workers drilled wells, pumped salty water, and boiled it in large iron kettles over fires until salt crystallized, remained, or salt crystals remained. It was hot, exhausting work. But salt was so valuable that it became known as the white gold of the frontier.

So Shannon's home was called Hell on Earth by you?

In the 1800s, Bullock county became a vacation destination. People traveled from across the region to visit Paraket Springs near Shepherdsville. Paraket Springs was a resort built around mineral water. It became famous because people believe the mineral rich spring water had healing properties. At its peak, it was a major social hot spot. The resort featured a large hotel, cottages, dining, dancing, and gatherings that attracted wealthy visitors from Kentucky and beyond.

Wow. What happened to that place?

[Billy (County Expert)]

From 1826 to 1870, it operated. During the Civil War, the area was used as a military camp. After the war, there was attempts to revive the resort, but it never returned to its former glory.

That's a shame.

That could have been like you all could have been a tourist destination.

They drained us dry, took all of our water.

[Matt Jones]

Civil war had to ruin it.

And salt.

Bullock county is a popular spot on the Bourbon Trail, the home of Jim Bean Distilling Company, the oldest manufacturer in Kentucky. It's the Herald as the beginning of the Bourbon Trail. Jim Bean. And it also has one of Kentucky's Most famous forests. 16,000 acres. The Bernheim Research Forest in Shepherdsville, Kentucky.

What do we mean by forest? How big is it? So 16,000 acres.

They are three enormous wooden sculptures created by a Danish artist.

Some interesting people from Bullock County. James Turner Morehead was born in Bulloch County. He was a lawyer who became the 12th governor of Kentucky and first native born Kentuckian to become governor. Joby hall was born in Cynthiana. But In August of 1956 he got his first job in basketball as the head coach of the Shepherdsville High School Rams. Upon accepting the job he found out he would also be coaching the football, the baseball teams and the PE class. The football coach got drafted into the service right when Joby hall got hired.

So Joby had to Coach football.

Joe B's football team didn't win a game in the 5657 season. His basketball team went 12 and 16. His baseball team went 6 and 4. During the summer months, Joe B. Got a job as a forest ranger at the Bernheim Forest near his house.

He coached for two seasons at the school before leaving for a basketball job in Denver.
