Councilmember Gary Petersen was made vice-mayor.Earth Fire Alliance, the San Fransisco based global nonprofit founded in 2024 to "confront the escalating wildfire crisis" launched 3 purpose-built satellites into low earth orbit on Tuesday. The satellites are designed to support fire agencies by detecting wildfires early before they spread.

PG&E Says Scammers Are Now Using QR Codes

Rural California's Copper Landlines At Risk. Again.

Inmate Walks Away From Washington Ridge Conservation Camp / Nevada County River Shuttle Begins Service

He was last seen at approximately 12:35 p.m. the same day. Anyone who sees him or has information about his whereabouts should contact the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office by calling 911. Anyone with information may also contact Lt. Wayland Hanks at (916) 200-6127 or OCS Special Agent Tim Keeney at (916) 210-9159.Nevada County launched its new River Shuttle Program on July 3rd. The pilot program is designed to reduce traffic congestion, improve safety, ease parking challenges, and support responsible recreation while creating a more enjoyable visitor experience. This Weekend Brings Fireworks and Free Shuttle Busses To Nevada County

There is no service July 3rd though it will be the first day of Nevada County's River Shuttle. The shuttle will run every weekend until September 6 from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

The annual event has been happening for almost a century and takes place all over the United States. It serves as ham radio's open house.
