In episode 11, Mike decides to leave Jay to find a fill in while he does what he apparently considers "Important". 31 year veteran Deputy Rich steps up and answers the call. Jay and Rich discuss the recent increase in violence against police, the Defund the Police movement, and how it impacts public safety. The current call to eliminate Qualified Immunity leaves communities with fewer police on the streets and reduced recruitment numbers. With extended call response times, or limited response in some areas, citizens are left to deal with increased crime rates and learning how to manager their own personal safety in an increasingly dangerous world. Let's not forget it is National Donut (Doughnut?) Day. Jay asks Rich about his affinity for the deep fried delight and the cop/donut stereotype.
