Hey, guys. Welcome back to the Law of Attraction Secrets podcast. I'm your host, Natasha Graziano. Today in my leopard print. You've never seen me a leopard print. If you're not watching and you're listening, go to YouTube and listen, because the outfit is worth a look. We are here today with an awesome guest, somebody who, honestly, I cannot stop talking to. That is like that soul sister vibe. Nev McCarthy is the founder of Mindful Nation, the hottest new meditation app. It is the most awesome thing I've personally been using since we met. I'm completely addicted. It's a completely different style meditation app. Believe me, you're going to love it. We'll talk about it later in the show. She's previously worked in the teams of U2 and Madonna. Oh, my goodness. We have so much to talk about. She's also gorgeous and Irish. Welcome to the show, Nev McCarthy. Thank you. How are you?
B
What an intro.
A
I'm actually quite an outfit. Yeah. What an outfit. Look at you. You look so beautiful. Oh, my goodness. I love it when you. When you meet a soul family member, it's like, you know, it just clicks. We really didn't stop talking.
B
It's so natural. And that's what I feel like everything that's supposed to be feels like, yes. It's just easy.
A
We did not stop talking. It was like, you know, I DM'd you. That's how we met. I was like, that's how everyone meets in today's world. I feel like dates, like, everything.
B
People were married, they met on Instagram.
A
Right. It's such a thing now. And I feel like. I mean, I don't even use tick tock DMs. Do you use tick tock DMs?
B
My best friend sends me videos, which I never respond to, and that's it.
A
Yeah. Basically, nobody uses Tick Tock dms. We all use, like, DM on Instagram, but, like, watch my sick talk. But, like, yeah, DM'd. How funny. I know. I love that. And from the moment we met, then I found out you had this incredible app, which, I have to be honest, whether or not you were here, I would talk about it. I actually am so obsessed with it because it's short meditations. Before we even go into it. Tell me a little bit about the app and then after that I'll ask you, like, where you.
B
I mean, the apps. The idea was born out of a true need. Right. Kind of like, you know, your whole life. It's like I was on toret Madonna and U2 for many years. I was super young, very burnt out, living this dream in LA. I was 20 years old, you know, flying around, blah, blah, blah. And I experienced intense burnout and stress and all the things that come with being very busy. And I was not mindful. I was like, I mean, I'm Irish, you know, I. Big drinking culture, drank a lot, partying a lot, really, in that toxic kind of culture. And I had a very big burnout moment where I got endometriosis by cystic ovaries. Like, had all these, like, health illnesses and ailments at 22. And I was on tour with one of the artists at the time, and I had a panic attack. And I was brought to hospital. And for someone who's never had a panic attack before, I thought I was going to die. I was like, this is it. It's so scary. And the doctor, that doctor said to me in Germany, if you learn how to breathe, you learn how to control your nervous system. And I was like, why does not. Why does everybody not know that? How do I breathe? Also, like, how do you do that? And so it started this ripple effect of me just investigating meditation and realizing that the people I worked with were, like, super high performers. Very, very, very high level of stress. And all the other meditation apps didn't work for them. They're just too long. As much as I would love to be in India every day and sit there for six hours, it's not feasible in our world. And you need something that actually fucking works. You know, that works.
A
I agree.
B
So for me, it was like, okay, I'm going to do this. I went on tour for two more like, global tours. And then when I was 25, I was literally meditating and I got a vision of an app that was three minutes with Epic Music. Because for me, I love music. Like, if I'm at a yoga class or a Pilates class and the teacher's teaching offbeat, I can't fucking, you know, oh, my God, I can't concentrate.
A
Have you seen Body Balance?
B
No.
A
Oh, girl, you gotta download it. It's called Body Balance by Les Mills. And it's a different style of music, vibes to the music, and the breathing.
B
Needs to be in sync.
A
You gotta see it. You'll love it. You'll be a whole new workout.
B
Because I did Pilates the other day, and she's like, doing and put the beats, the breath, and it's all off and I can't concentrate. So, yeah, we built that. We started building the app. I mean, Covid happened. I went to Mykonos.
A
Yeah. Which is so you. I mean, oh, my God.
B
I became me.
A
Yes.
B
Because I was very New Yorker. Very, like, Hustler. Yeah. Yeah. I was, like, not connected to my feminine also.
A
Are you connected to the earth now? Do you feel like when you went.
B
There, you drink the olive oil pulled me down.
A
Right.
B
And it opened me up.
A
Wow.
B
And it was just the most. If you've never been to Greece, book your next ticket. Because, I mean, if you've been to Mykonos, it's a very special. And they have an island beside it called the island of Light, which is where Apollo, the God of the sun, was born.
A
Wow.
B
And he was born there right beside Mykonos. So it has this energy, and I got this download, and then I went to Scorpios and.
A
Which is a restaurant for anyone that doesn't know which is a restaurant club.
B
But the music is really specific. And they don't work with any artists who are signed to big labels or big publishing, so they own all their music. And so I just was like, let me license all this music. And I was like, I'm building this meditation app. And I wasn't building it, but I was like. I was just like, I'm building it. Can I work with you? I need your music. And I just started doing it. And then I found all these trainers that, like, were really aligned. And I asked the universe, I said, send me the people who are out of their ego, who know what to talk about and are aligned, because I want to put them in an app to help people.
A
The app is so good. Like, I'll tell you why I personally love it. Okay. So I carried this round with me, and I actually just took it out my handbag to show you. So it says on it, for anyone that wants to know what it says, take a deep breath in for four seconds, hold for six seconds, exhale for eight seconds, repeat for three minutes. You got this? And I wrote this once for myself when I was, like, in a really, like, anxiety moment. And it reminded me every time I see it to pull it out my bag and pause wherever I am and do it. Your app is that pause. Your app is where I can go literally in the morning, right? And on it, it says, calm, focus elevated. I have different ones I can choose for 3 minutes, 4 minutes, these small little meditations. But they're vibey, right? So I can sit up for once and do it without going quick or getting distracted on my phone or, like, whatever, or falling asleep. And so I Love it because I really get into it. Like, honestly, guys, this is not sponsored. I adore this app. And, you know, I'm huge on meditations. If anyone wants the link, I'm gonna just put it below. I'm gonna put it below so everyone can download it. It is so good. And you'll personally love the one that I love, which is elevated. I listen to that in the morning. Like, that is such a good one. The calm with you. Like, they're so special.
B
I mean, the concept is like that you control your mood.
A
Mm.
B
Right? It's like we walk around all day filled with anxiety and whatever it is, but it's like you can change your mood. You change your thoughts, as you know.
A
Yes, yes.
B
So that's the app. It's like just three minutes and it will direct your focus, direct your thoughts. So good, you stop thinking in the past and you start creating this new. This mood right now, which is what.
A
The law of attraction is. The law of attraction is your thoughts become your things. If you look around you and you see chaos, it's because you had a chaotic mindset 30 days to one year before, and it has built into what you see in your outer reality. Your outer reality is a direct reflection of your inner self beliefs. If you believe you are unworthy of love or money or happiness, guess what? Your outer reality will project unhappiness and love and money in your world. Because your thoughts become your feelings, your feelings become your actions, and your actions are your habits. And you are just a walking bag of habits by the age of about 30. So we have to be so careful on that cycle of thoughts, because your thoughts literally go down the cycle all the way to who we are. And then you see somebody who's. Oh, they're really like. They're kind of an angry soul. Do you know why that person had a bad event that happened to them? Could have been the smallest thing in the supermarket. What do you call it? A market here? What a shop? What do you call this? A mall? No, a food mall. A food mall. A grocery store. Yeah.
B
Things where you buy food. What do you call those Things where you buy food? Don't do your groceries.
A
Basically that. No. So. So that. That thing. So basically that. No, but I actually do it online. I do them online. That's why. But I don't even know, like, what I'm looking for. I just like, yeah, someone does it for me on my side. But basically what happens is, is where was I? It's a really good point. Oh, my God. He had A bad day in the supermarket. And now the guy who had a bad day in the supermarket decided to have another bad day somewhere else. And now what happens is instead of switching out of it, which is what mindset coaches teach you, which is what mindset work does, which is mindfulness apps like yours do, instead of switching out of the bad mood because you know there's a good mood around the corner, there's a better day tomorrow. And knowing that today will end, that's okay. The guy or the girl let it set in their mind, that bad mood. And now that bad mood turned into a bad week, and that bad week turned into their temperament, and now their temperament turned into their catch character. And their character is who they are. So when you see somebody who is in a bad mood all the time, it's just who they are because of a series of bad events. Whereas we can switch our day at any point, at any point, we can redesign our character. We choose our character when we write our script. And it's like, who do you want to be today? You know, I decided to wear a leopard today. I've never worn leopard. I was like, I'm gonna be this goddess and leopard today because I'm sitting with such a goddess and I love her. I was like, you know what? That's going to be what my character is today. And your app does that. It, like, breaks the bad mood. I feel it breaks the bad habit, the moment that you're having.
B
Right. Well, that's the idea of the top of the homepage, like you said. It's like, choose positive. Choose how you want to feel.
A
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
B
Because it's your choice.
A
Yeah, yeah.
B
You don't have to just be stress all day. Choose happy. Choose. And it's giving you your power back. And it's three minutes because that's all.
A
Most people have, three minutes in a day. We're going to be right back after the break. Okay, so tell me about, like, how it came together, the app. Because the app is such a phenomenal. And I mean, you guys are doing so well with it. Who's behind it? Like, give me more on that.
B
I mean, it came it first was a B2B business. I started it with Live Nation. The CEO of Live Nation, Michael Rapinoe, he. I mean, he's the number one music executive in the world, and he meditates and he gets it. And I worked with them for many years because, you know, they do tours from Donna and U2. And when I was. I started first a mindfulness department at Maverick and Michael saw it and was like, we should bring this to all of the Live Nation and Ticketmaster employees around the world, because people need to meditate.
A
Yeah.
B
And in the music business, you know, especially, like, 71% of artists, like, attribute their depression to touring.
A
I know. It's such a number. I didn't realize it was that high.
B
Percent.
A
Wait, so 71% of artists attribute depression.
B
Mental health illnesses to touring, specifically live touring. So that's when I was like, okay, we need to build something specifically for artists. Right. Because my experience was working with artists, so I knew exactly how they felt, and so I was okay. They have their stage, their rehearsals, their pre show. They have no time. So three minutes. They can do three minutes in the car on the way to the venue, pre stage, after. So it originally started for artists.
A
This is wild for, like, and it's so good because, well, funnily enough, I mean, my baby daddy's an artist. My. I get. My whole world is around artists. This show is so music heavy. Like, with artists, we have to give it to them. When they come in, they should have a little card, be like, download this.
B
It will help you and Natasha.
A
Yes, yes. I think. No, we have to. We got so much to talk about, girl. But I love that you're doing that with Live Nation. That's why it's called mindfulness.
B
Yeah. It's under the umbrella.
A
Oh, powerful. I love that.
B
Yeah.
A
Okay. So what was your dream as a little girl like, when you were growing up?
B
I always wanted to work in music.
A
Did you? But not as an artist yourself.
B
No, I wanted to be a music manager. That was my dream.
A
Wow. To help others to shine.
B
Yeah. Like that.
A
Can I just say, that is such a powerful job. Like, people don't understand the power of the people behind you. Like the stars. We're the front face. Right. But we need a whole team of people like you who can be the putter uppers. Like, here is what you should do. Here's where you should execute. You understand everyone has a role, right?
B
Which is. Yeah, that's what I wanted to do. And I worked in radio when I was in Ireland, and I mean, I've been working with art since I was 16, so I just understood them and their needs. And they, you know, artists go through a lot because it's a life that you can't relate with, and they feel quite lonely in that experience.
A
Wow.
B
And so, yeah, I mean, it was literally built for them. We built it with all these producers from Scorpios, from Tulum. We Went to Saint Tropez. We went to these cool beach clubs.
A
Oh, my gosh. You went around, just, like, got DJs. I love it.
B
It's very European because we're. Most of my team is European.
A
Yes.
B
We're in London. We're in Greece.
A
And then we attracted each other. You love that. Isn't that amazing? I love Greek men. Must just love you. Oh, my God. You're just like the beautiful blonde. Eric. My sister's a blond and I know that they don't look Greek, so they.
B
Look more like anything that looks American, I think.
A
Yeah, basically. Doesn't it? I love that. No, but I really do envision you there. It feels like that's your home.
B
That's where I want to be.
A
Yeah. Well, your eyes reflect the ocean, so that's where, like, your heart is. Right? You can see that. Yeah, it's really beautiful. Oh, my gosh. I love this for you. Okay, so tell me what you're passionate about right now.
B
I mean, really, the app and just talking about it, bringing more awareness that you can. You can feel better in three minutes.
A
How often do you do it?
B
I genuinely. Honest. I do about seven times a day.
A
Do you really?
B
Yeah. Because I need different styles.
A
Yeah.
B
I'll start with Jasmine. Like, I need a Jasmine. And then I'll go. She's calm.
A
Calm.
B
Yeah, she's very.
A
You don't listen to your own voice.
B
No, I can't.
A
No. Yeah, Most people can't. Yeah, they have to. Somebody else, you just swap next to just go.
B
And then I'll go, Eugene, like, focus, because he has some, like, breath work.
A
You do it sitting up or.
B
I do. Mostly I do it driving. Like, I'll listen to it. I'll start in my bed when I wake up, the first thing I do. But I have a hack to set it as your alarm.
A
What?
B
So it opens you up. Yeah.
A
You can do this with me, guys. You can set this as your alarm. No, that's the coolest part of the whole thing right now.
B
No, because so I wake up. Good morning, beautiful soul. Oh, hi, Jasmine. And it's like. It's. It's life changing.
A
Amazing. I'll tell you why. That is literally just blowing my mind. No, really. That should literally be the title. This episode. Start your day with an alarm of a meditation. Imagine if your alarm was a meditation. It actually is. No, but for real, that's so.
B
Yeah. Good, because everyone was asking, can you.
A
Do it for me after?
B
I can do it for you.
A
Yeah. But can you tell them how they can do it.
B
We'll.
A
You'll do something about something?
B
Yeah.
A
Maybe a tutorial that they can all see or something.
B
They need to receive an email with a. With a. With a file. You have to upload the file into your alarm.
A
Okay. You guys will.
B
We'll do it for you. You will use it and you will love it.
A
I will love. Exactly. And then everyone else. You will. When you join the app, maybe they'll by that point be able to do that as well. But that's pretty cool. Yeah, that's pretty cool, people. It's really funny on my. On my show, when they're my company being coached by me, they. I give them million dollar ideas, billion dollar ideas, and they have downloads for their things that. Oh, my God, we have to do that. And then a year later, I'll see them. They'll be like, you won't believe it. That thing that you told me. And I'm like, wow, really worked. I love this how you.
B
Your first thought of the day. I am worthy. I am beautiful.
A
Everything's happening and you know what happens at the moment? I have to then take it off airplane mode.
B
Right.
A
But what I really want to do is just press. I don't want to look at my phones, by the way. I have a blindfold on. I sleep with a. An eye mask. So I'm like. When I wake up, I'm like, right where like I said. And I have this audio box which I listen to at the moment. It's a Joel Osteen, like, you know, beautiful affirmation that I listen to. But now I want this because the first thing I do when I wake up, and I really do suggest it, I'm going to ask you the same question. Here is my million dollar routine. So I'm just gonna title it because I know this is gonna help somebody. Number one, I wake up and I meditate before anything else. Okay. I have a newborn baby and I have a son. So I have kids and there's a lot of noise, but I will wake up before, ideally before they wake up to do it, or I will find that moment after they've gone to school or the baby's with the nanny, whatever it is, to do it. So this is the first thing that you want to do in the morning. Meditate. Use an app that for me personally, it's something like yours that is so easy and quick and I don't have to worry beyond. 10 minutes is a real. Too much in the morning because your brain is trying to wake up and you're coming out of the alpha state and into beta, but your mind is really fast coming back into beta, right? So you want to stay in that dreamlike state. And that's where your meditations really would win. So step one for me, I meditate. Two, I script. I get my journal out and I script in the past tense. When it's in the morning, I do a quick version of gratitude. I'm so happy and grateful now that I have this amazing app that I have my new friend. I wrote about you and I was like, yeah, I was like, I love her. I'm so happy and grateful that. And I write my full list. My children, my health. And I really go down the list. After I've done that, I then put that aside and I do green juice. Those are my three things in the morning. It's just my morning ritual every single day. I take it, you know, a journal, a meditation. Meditation's already on my phone, so it's super quick. What is your million dollar routine?
B
Well, depends on the season, but because if I'm in summer now, I wake up, I do Mindful Nation, then I. I'll write three things I'm grateful for. Now I'm doing the armor colostrum with the water. It's this colostrum that's really good for your hair, no? Yeah, it is, but it's from Kyle. I think it's from cows.
A
Oh, my God. Because it's really yellow. Like when I. When I breastfed the first time before, it was like this yellow stuff. Apparently it's like so healing. I was like, yeah, it is.
B
So this is a whole viral thing right now.
A
Wait, what?
B
So I'm drinking colostrum.
A
I've heard about it from cows.
B
I think it's from cows.
A
Can we find out? Cause I really want some. This one here, my producer, my best friend Natasha. She's also called Natasha. She's obsessed with everything. Health stuff. You'll know.
B
Armor up.
A
No, we love this stuff. Can we get the name of it? We need it.
B
So I've been drinking that. Cause it's for hair. Everything gut. It's amazing. And then I'll just do quick writing, like creative, whatever is coming through. Like that's my moment of the day where I'm.
A
Do you drink the colostrum, by the way, with water?
B
It's delicious.
A
Is it really?
B
Yeah, it has a taste. It's a lot.
A
And what's it good for? Because you really do glow, by the way.
B
Hair, skin, collagen and good hair.
A
Did you always does she always glow. Yeah, she always did glow. But this has helped you more?
B
No, but I also. My skincare routine is amped up, so. Oh, really?
A
Here we go. Come on. I'm going to go. We got so much to talk about. I can't wait to have tea at my house. You have to come over and have tea. Do you want it? That's what we do. Yes.
B
I'm really good at tarot.
A
I know. And I won't spare it from anyone, so I really. Maybe I'll do it with you. Wow. That's really special that you do that. Okay. Wait. There's so much to talk about. This is so cool. This one. Mean. Guys, you're really just listening to our girly conversation today. Okay, so then you do. So colostrum. Sorry. Then you do meditation.
B
Meditation first, then colostrum. And then I'll do my creative writing, my flow. So I'll just sit and the ideas that come through. It's like just creating a space in which I get inspired. So I'll usually like the whole apps. The pages in the app came through that space. I was like, just drawing it out. I was in London, sitting at, like, Chicon having coffee, and I was like.
A
Oh, I love Chon. I've been there. So novel since Christmas, but I love it.
B
Shortage. Sitting there, having coffee. And then I was like, oh, I see the app.
A
They've got Chiconis here, too. Do you know that? Yeah.
B
In. Yeah. I haven't been actually.
A
This. I have been. I have been. Yeah.
B
And I'll just write out my thoughts, my ideas, whatever. In the morning, you have access to a higher.
A
Yeah.
B
Power. That is available for guidance. So I'll sit and I'll ask for guidance and I'll just write. And the actual apps that you. The design came to me on a piece of paper on a napkin.
A
Oh, my God.
B
And I wrote it down, always on a napkin.
A
There was other. There was so many.
B
Really?
A
Amazon. Napkin.
B
Napkin.
A
Virgin Napkin, too? Think so. Yeah, there was.
B
And I sent it to Hamish, our creative director, and I was like, this is the. This is the app. This napkin is the app.
A
Wow.
B
So I'll just write in the morning and journal and then I'll have this.
A
This is so beautiful. Oh, my goodness. Okay, tell me about your love for music, because music is something we talk about all the time, and music is a big part of your app. Like, you founded a specific style of music. Do you think maybe you're an artist in your past life or maybe you are connected?
B
I think, like, right for Me writing. I write a lot. I've been writing. Yeah.
A
Oh, book. Next.
B
I love writing.
A
Yes.
B
And so I have artists. Like I'm a, you know, Pisces Moon.
A
So I have my. Sorry, guys. No. Yeah, well, no, that's what his mum does. She's a celebrity kabbalistic astrologist from London. Really powerful. She's been my teacher for 15 years. Yeah, yeah. Wait, will you help? Will you read my book proposal and tell me if you think it's good?
B
Yes, I would love to. To.
A
Will you?
B
Yeah.
A
Okay, great.
B
Obviously.
A
Oh my God, you're so sweet. Okay, good. This is so fun. This is so much.
B
Music is the universal language. Like all of us can remember a time in which we're at a concert and we just felt so connected to our hearts, so connected to everyone else. I cry at concerts, of course, because you're accessing that. No judgment. No. Like it doesn't matter. Your religion, your background, where you're from. Everyone is there and we're just there for the music.
A
I cry when I watch the Lion King in. In the West End or Broadway. Oh my God, it's so emotional. And then I. Then Trevor came on. Who plays Simba? Trevor Jackson, he's now an R B singer, actor. He's so cool. Beautiful guy came on and he was like, yeah, I play Simba. You, you were Simba? I was like, no way.
B
Like you're not Lion King.
A
Oh my God, that's so. Imagine if I'd worn that on Trevor's show. That's so funny. He's my friend, he's so cool. I should just show up for dinner one day at his house and be like, what's up? Like literally wearing this outfit. Oh my God. No. But I have this affinity to artists. I already had a trackout in the charts. I was signed to one of music in the uk. I did already have a music run, but Covid happened. So at the same time my book came out literally one week after each other and something told me had this huge download and it was like everything's going to be shut down. You're not going to be able to promote the music. So I did this big concert, it was like a 24 hour concert on ABC. It was so fire with like everyone from French Montana, Becky G, like the. The biggest and the best artists. And I performed live on it like they did. But it was so cool. But after that I was like, wow, I really have a choice here of like what to do. And that was like. I just started and I was like Use my voice and promote the book and use my voice to help people during this time. And if music comes back around, it comes back around. Right.
B
Because it seems that your instrument of healing is your voice.
A
Oh, absolutely.
B
So there you go.
A
Yeah, exactly.
B
It's a podcast. If it's a show, if it's in.
A
Sure.
B
If it's an album, it's all. You're using your voice.
A
I know.
B
I love the instrument. The voice is an instrument.
A
Yes.
B
That's how you're. You're still an artist.
A
Yeah. Yes, absolutely.
B
That instrument.
A
So true. I love it. No, you're right. And that. That's a really nice way for me to look at it. You're right. You know what? I'm actually, I made a motivational album with this really cool producer, really good friend of mine called Major. He's done the producing for. He's like, Grammy Award winning, like, for so many artists. And so I should so release that, my motivational album. It's like, I will play you one after. It's so crazy cool. It's like fire music.
B
I mean, people are releasing meditate. Like Janae. I was releasing a meditation album. Like, people are doing, like, a motivational album with.
A
Wait, Janae's releasing a what?
B
A meditation album.
A
Is she?
B
Yeah.
A
Wow.
B
So people are. Do. People are available. They want this information, you know, and it's like, that's what. But for me, the app is 30 albums in an app because the music was produced, created, mastered vocals, like we did. We did it in a music studio.
A
Oh, my God.
B
That's why it took so long.
A
You have to connect with Major. He does the music like this. It will blow your mind. You have to connect. I have this download. You guys need to do it. He did the music for my album. It's fire. Like, wildly good.
B
Like Afrobeats.
A
No, no. Like every kind of vibe, and it's injected with frequency. It is so cool. No, no, this is your vibe. We'll go together to the studio. You'll see what I mean.
B
We have. We worked with Frequencies in the app.
A
Oh, you can.
B
But. And for the sleep class. Have you done a sleep class yet? No.
A
What's that?
B
The sleep ones are actually one of the most popular classes.
A
How long are they?
B
They're long. 30 minutes. You just listen and you sleep and then you sleep.
A
Got it. It's just like, go to bed once. Oh, I love that. Oh, my God, this app is so good. I'm obsessed with it. Are you, like, proud of yourself?
B
Do you feel like living?
A
Yes.
B
In Your purpose? Yes. A privilege, you know, because I thought I was. I wanted to be a music manager, and then I got there at 20. I was on tour with Madonna, and I was, you know, traveling the world, and. But if you're not. If you don't know who you are, you're not happy with yourself, there's nothing you can get outside of you that's going to give that to you. And this gives it to me because it's aligned with who I am, and it's aligned with what I feel is why I came here. You know, the music business can be. You know, it's just that it's repetitive.
A
You.
B
You record an album, you put out an album, you go on tour, and it's amazing. And I was very lucky to work with those artists, and they're still amazing people, but now I'm living my. My mission.
A
So beautiful. I love it. But that's very true. Where you said purpose is a privilege. I think we really have to lean into the idea that really, you are blessed when you are living in your purpose. You are in your divine. You are in your feminine, your masculine. You're in everything. You in the best, highest form of you when you're in your purpose. And every day we get a choice of whether we're going to show up and ask the universe, what's my assignment for today and step into our purpose, whether we're going to step back and just keep going along the same routine, the same journey. And then it's like one day you wake up and go, no, this isn't my calling. I was physically unwell because I wasn't in my purpose. The universe was, like, screaming at me. And I've noticed some of the biggest, biggest artists in the world, whatever that might look like, whether they're a singer, a writer, a performer, whatever it is, speakers, coaches, they've always gone through the biggest hellhole. Whether it was like, being homeless, ill, paralyzed, like the. And then come back the other side. Like, that's why I know I went through that illness. That's why I know I was thrown in the deep end of, like, you're gonna go through a sickness because unless you go through this, you're not gonna change. And I needed my whole ego to shadow, which is just glass. It was like a glass house I was living in, and it had to break and shatter so that the version of me could be born out of it, so the version of me could come out of it and shine and help the world. And I had to go through that real Dark day. So that. And by day I mean season, so that I could evolve and change. Because it gave me gratitude for life, which I never had. It gave me gratitude for just being able to be alive and breathe, not having to be bed bound. It gave me purpose. It gave me so much fulfillment. And out of that I was able to then go on and serve the world because I have this new calling like you.
B
I think when you take yourself out of the equation, it's. Life is a lot easier. You know, I am in service every day to show me what to do, show me, show me what, where to go, who to bring them here. It's not about me. And that's my lesson from the music business. Yes. Is working with people who, you know, are not very happy and they have everything. And it could because it's about you. But when you make it about your. Your service, life is so fun and magical and things happen and it's. And it can be so joyful. And you don't have to learn through pain and illness and you don't have to manifest an illness to learn. No, now you got to rewire. That's what I had to do. I learned through joy, true love through. Through magic.
A
And you can, that's what I mean. People can actually find their purpose through just simply hearing that somebody else went through this. They don't need to, and that they can change their life today. Most times we change our life through the things we read, the things we ingest, the circles we hang out. You're an average of the five people you're hanging out with. Are you hanging out with delinquents or are you hanging out with really amazing people like you, who I sit down with? And I feel alive, I feel elevated. I feel like I want to go on and do stuff. Like you made me want to go on stage right now, girl. Like, you know, I feel good. I'm like, let's do it. And that's how it should be to be around people that make you feel elevated and lifted, because that's you and your purpose and then whatever that is, whether you're serving your community. My purpose is to reach a billion people in this lifetime and to help a billion people. But I can't do that through my own community. I have to do that through my community. Plus your community, the people that you reach. So I have to inspire you to go and inspire your community. That is my soul's purpose, to inspire as many people as I can so that you, you, you, you, you can all go on and Serve. Love your community and inspire your community with your purpose. And everybody's purpose is to make this world a better place, to make life for others better and easier, more fulfilled. However that looks, think about it. Water bottles created to make your life easier. So you have water to make you healthy. Right? The phone to make your life easier, the app to make your life better. It's all the same. Everything is down to your purpose. If somebody's looking for their purpose today, the best way to look for it, where I say to people is to say, are you adding value to somebody's life with what you are doing now? Sometimes your job doesn't equate to your purpose, but the rest of your life is dedicated to philanthropy. The rest of your life is dedicated to charity or whatever it might be that is okay. You're still living in your purpose. And maybe you just have a cash cow that has to feed the bills. Right. But are you doing something overall that is adding value to people's lives? That's you living in your purpose. Purpose.
B
Yeah. I mean, Ram Dass used to say, just by being you is enough be love. Every day, wake up. I am a being of love. That's it.
A
Wow.
B
Nothing to do, nowhere to go. Just be you.
A
And not being judgmental, angry, and all the things, right? Like, it's so. It's so interesting. As soon as somebody's trigger, who apparently is living in their purpose, as soon as somebody is triggered, you see that other side and you're like, oh, my God, you got a lot of work to do. But I look at it and I'm like, it's okay. They're going through something. I don't take it personally. It's just like what they're going through.
B
They're a soul on their soul's journey. And I think that's a helpful phrase to always remember. Like, even if you're in the car now, I'm on the way here, someone cuts in front of me, starts with me. I'm like, easy. I'm like, you fucking. You know. But I'm like, they're so on their soul's journey. I'm not going to go there. But sometimes they do, and that's okay because we're human. I think it's just like our whole right now. Just like, don't judge yourself.
A
No.
B
Allow yourself to be as you are today.
A
Yeah.
B
And it's okay. Call someone and whatever, you know, like, C word comes out of me a few times.
A
You're Irish girl. You know, do you drink like the Irish not anymore. No. You used to, but. Yeah, but now you've just changed your life.
B
Everything's changed. Yeah. I stopped doing everything, like, when I was 27. Saturn return. I hit my rock bottom.
A
Wow.
B
And that's when I changed it all. And just like for me, I heard someone said to me, I was in Hawaii at this thing and they said, what takes you out of who you are and get rid of that.
A
That.
B
Write a list of the. That takes you out of who you are and who you want to be and get rid of that.
A
Wow. Well, I had to get rid of a whole person out my life for that reason. You don't have a character. Yeah, yeah, for sure.
B
Take you out of who you are.
A
Wow. Such a good quote.
B
Write a list of everything that takes you out of who you are and.
A
Get rid of that. That is the most powerful thing. I want to end on that. That is so amazing. Guys, if you've enjoyed today's show as much as I have app, make sure you share this with a friend. Send it to a friend today who's going to be inspired by the meditation app, who's going to be inspired to go on their own journey. And that quote at the end, I was going to ask you what your ending quote would be and you just gave it to me. That was so profound. I loved it. Is there anything else you want to share with us where people can find you?
