A lot of the time, the biggest challenge in a company is trying to balance the many competing priorities and as leader-managers in those businesses, we've probably all faced those frustrating trade-offs, like how do I systemize without losing people's buy-in and engagement? One key way is to involve those people in defining the way you do things, and we'll hear more examples in today's conversation because my guest is Marianne Page, creator of Sticky Systems, Speaker, Best-Selling Author. Marianne shares her experience from a nearly 30 year career at McDonald's as well as working with a variety of businesses since then, SMEs and beyond. We talk about the importance of developing your people, creating those systems in the right way, fostering that culture of engagement and ownership within your organization or team. "What if?" is a question everybody has asked themself in life, probably more than once. But for most people, most leaders, when we ask "What if?" it's a backward-looking question. My guest this week has a powerful reframe of the question that's worth your time. His name is Doug Fleener, he's a Personal Adviser for Growth and Change, author of the book "Start With What If" and creator of The What If Rule. We'll be discussing that reframe, how to start with what if, why a shift in perspective can make or break your leadership, and more. We hear Doug's story-so-far and talk about his experiences of leadership both as a leader and follower. Thanks for listening/watching this episode of Leading with integrity: Leadership talk. Leaders: ever had a brilliant idea but struggled to get your team on board? Sometimes that maybe because the idea wasn't so brilliant (I've definitely had that problem! 😅), but other times maybe it's been because getting your point across requires more than just sharing data or hitting the 'transmit' button. It takes genuine presence and a solid understanding of your audience/people. My guest this week is Salvatore Manzi. He's a leadership communications coach who specializes in helping leaders turn complexity into clarity, insight into influence. Salvatore is also the author of upcoming book: Clear and Compelling. During our chat, Salvatore breaks down the real definition of leadership presence so you can finally understand what that corporate buzzword actually means in practice. Thanks for listening/watching this episode of Leading with integrity: Leadership talk. A recurring theme this year has been organisational culture; what makes it work, how it turns toxic (and what not to do!). So on it was a pleasure to talk about it with this weeks guest: Culture Strategist, Behavioral Psychologist and HR Expert, Adriana Vaccaro. We chat about how to redesign your culture for success and the role of conscious leadership in that process. You'll hear about Adriana's culture-minded framework and the 6 core capabilities that drive it, from the relationship between contribution and belonging to the role of technology and beyond. A key takeaway is to think about the way we view culture: as a practice rather than a philosophy, and why leaders should embody the values they promote. Thanks for listening/watching this episode of Leading with integrity: Leadership talk. I'm pretty excited about this one, because words like 'gamification' tend not to be taken all that seriously within businesses and you might be forgiven for thinking "what's that got to do with leadership anyway?" until we join the dots to other words like behaviour, motivation, and neuroscience. So in today's episode I'm speaking with Roman Rackwitz about ALL of the sciences, the brain stuff, the tricks of human behaviour and motivation, how this leads into gamification in the productive, useful ways (and not the gimmicky nonsense most of us will probably have encountered before) and how all of this links back to leading more successful teams. Thanks for listening/watching this episode of Leading with integrity: Leadership talk. How strong are your resilience anchors? This week on Leading with Integrity, Joyce Odidison and I are discussing 3 of the big issues of leadership right now: burnout, conflict and resilience. Joyce is a conflict analyst and an expert on wellness, mental health and psychological safety in the workplace which meant we had plenty to talk about from both leader and follower perspectives. From the critical role of resilience anchors in personal and organizational success to self-belief and core values in aligning with a vision. Joyce shares her experiences as a conflict analyst and introduces her resilience mapping framework, which helps individuals and teams assess their resilience across nine dimensions.
