For this last episode of the season, I chose to talk about my experiences using a new editing software; Paintshop Pro 2021 created by Corel. This episode is not sponsored by Paintshop Pro or Corel, it is simply my own words about what this editing software provides and my overall opinion of it for when I edit my photography work. I will also be talking about my recent decision to have a short break from the podcast. I briefly discuss what plans I have in store and what you can expect to hear in the not too distant future! Last year, like many of us, I wasn't able to see the coming of Spring in and around my local reserve. So, on a breezy but sunny Spring morning, I walked around Deeping Lakes to take in all the sights and sounds that come as the weather starts to get warmer. Join me on a live walk, talk and shoot as I listen and look out for arriving summer migrants and simply enjoying everything that comes with Spring! In this sit-in episode I will be talking about the reptiles that I have come across within the Fens, and how you can identify them in your area too! One of my favourite birds within the Fens, one that I have come to see throughout most of my life, is the elegant and ghostly barn owl. I spent the most part of a whole summer back in 2017 viewing and photographing them, and in this episode I provide a few facts about the species and what I remember doing throughout those weeks at dawn and dusk, along with what I have learnt now that will benefit me when I plan to find and photograph the local population again, hopefully in the coming summer months of 2021! While I have been recounting my past experiences with wildlife, I couldn't help but think of a place that couldn't be further away from the flatlands of the Fens! In this episode, I chose to talk about my home away from home; The Isle of Mull. This island hold so many memories, not just about the wildlife and scenery I got to see each time I visited, but what it means to me personally. I also keep getting interrupted by a certain bird throughout the episode so listen out for those! These past few months I have been reflecting a lot more on my previous experiences with wildlife, both within The Fens and also trips further afield. Join me in this episode as I talk about my experience when visiting the colony of grey seals during the pupping season off the coast of Norfolk. I also mention some exciting wildlife news relating to The Fens that have been mentioned in recent weeks! The podcast cover shows my own image, creating using Canva.
