The following podcast is a Dr. Media production.
B
This is, let's be honest with Kristen Cavallari, a podcast all about getting real and open on everything from sex, relationships, reality tv, wellness, family, and so much more. And just a fair warning, there will probably be some oversharing. Cause I got all the power.
A
Yep.
B
It's so good to see you, nookie. On the podcast.
A
I was trying to think, like, the last time we saw each other.
B
Okay, tell me, do you remember? I think I.
A
No.
B
But yes.
A
It was 2010 or 9. It hasn't.
B
I think it was probably 9. Oh, maybe. Okay.
A
You were licking Mike's abs.
B
Yep. Yep. Yeah.
A
And I was like, oh, it's Kristen, by the way.
B
Those pictures are all over the Internet.
A
All over the Internet.
B
Me licking the situations. Yeah.
A
You were so excited.
B
So excited.
A
You're like, show me the situation.
B
Oh, my God, we had so much fun that night.
A
No, we did.
B
What were you guys in town for? You probably.
A
Like, it was like, our first pretty press tour. We were supposed to be there for only, like, two days, and we ended up staying for, like, a week because everyone was booking us.
B
Yeah, because you guys were the hottest.
A
Yeah. We were like, oh, my God, you made it.
B
I will never forget when you guys aired because the Hills was on. And I remember being, like, kind of nervous that you guys were gonna take over the hills and you 1000%. Like, you guys came on TV and was like, the Hills. What? No one gave a Anymore.
A
No, no.
B
You guys were the only thing that anyone could talk about, myself included. But I was obsessed.
A
Well, we were the fan of the Hills. Well, and you just had the Hills
B
back with Laguna Beach.
A
Oh, Laguna beach reunion.
B
Which was very fun. Yeah. Yeah.
A
I still have to watch it. I'm excited.
B
I mean, thank you.
A
I've been traveling.
B
No, I get you're busy. You're a mom. You got a lot going on. We were just talking like, you're busy.
A
I'm busy.
B
Okay. But I want to go back to the beginning of the Jersey Shore.
A
Yeah.
B
And obviously, since we've seen each other since 2009 or whatever that was, so much has changed for you. You're a mom. You're a businesswoman. You're still on tv. But I want to go back to the beginning. How did you even get on the Jersey Shore? I don't know how they found all of you guys.
A
So I always wanted to do reality. And I kept, like, submitting my video in for, like, Real World.
B
Yeah.
A
I was like, I just want to be a Reality star. I want to try it out, but, like, do, like, a season and then go back to my life. Right. You know, be a vet tech, which I was planning on doing, and, you know, saving animals and that's it. So then I went on Facebook or maybe MySpace, and it was probably MySpace at the time. It's probably MySpace. Yeah. And they were like, calling all guidos and Guidettes, come down the shore for the summer for a reality show. And I'm like, this is it. And I was, like, manifesting, like, I need a show that, like, talks to me. And that was the show. So I went to, like, this random bar in Jersey and, like, I had basically this outfit on, fur coat. Basically. What? I walked in and. Yeah. And they put me in the dungeon. It was like a basement dungeon.
B
By yourself?
A
Yeah, to, like, film, like, my casting tape. And I'm like, what is this for? Like, it felt very.
B
No idea what it was for. And you just showed up because you just wanted to be on tv.
A
It felt like it was like a porn shoot. And I'm like, what do I have to do here?
B
I'll do anything.
A
No, but, yeah, they were like, just talk about yourself and, like, what you love to do. Why do you love the shore? And then ever since then, it was just like.
B
So they still, in that interview, never told you what it was for?
A
No. We didn't even know the name of the show until it actually aired. We thought it was going to be, like, Guido Beach.
B
I remember hearing that.
A
Yeah. We didn't know what it was going to be called.
B
So when did you find out that you got it and what did they tell you it was?
A
So I feel like they picked, like, 20 kids and they put us all in, like, a. Like a Hilton Hotel. And they took our phones. We had nothing. And we were just stuck in the room for, like, two days.
B
Oh, God.
A
But obviously they were feeding us and, like, whatever you need. But, like, we didn't know what was going on, so we didn't know if we were actually gonna be on the show or they were just gonna say, hey, pack your bags. Like, we didn't pick you, and you
B
still, at this point, don't know what the show is?
A
No.
B
Oh, my God.
A
Like, I had an idea, like, you know, we're gonna live in a shore house. We're gonna drink, have fun. But we didn't know the name of the show.
B
Oh, okay. But you KN knew we were going
A
into Shore House and we were gonna have the best summer ever.
B
I mean, yeah. Yeah. What a fun Gig.
A
Yeah.
B
Okay. So then they come in and they say, okay, guess what? You're moving into the house.
A
Yeah. They're basically like, all right, get your stuff together. You're gonna. You're gonna head to the house.
B
And then, like, I made everybody.
A
I made it. Yeah, I made it.
B
And it was the. It was all the original crew from the jump, right?
A
Yes.
B
And what did you think of everybody when you first got in the house?
A
So walking to the house, I really thought I was gonna see, like, real guidos. I would say, like, Paul. Paulie and Ron were like, yes. Makes sense. I see Vinnie, and I'm like, what? Like, who are you? You don't. You don't fit the mold of what I thought the show was gonna be. But Jenny, I was like, yes. You know, Long island girl, big boobies attitude, like the blonde extensions that she, like, taped in her hair. I was like, yes. Queen Sammy. Yes. So everybody, I was like, okay. But then Vinny, I was like, the one guy. Are you in the wrong house?
B
Poor Vinny.
A
Yeah.
B
Are you still close with everybody?
A
I am, yeah.
B
Was there anyone that you had fights with off camera that never made it that you're maybe not as close as everyone thinks you are?
A
No.
B
No. So everything that we show was real.
A
Yes, unfortunately.
B
So. Because you guys had cameras on you 24 7.
A
24 7. Yeah. And we were living in the house. Yeah, living in the house for, like, a month and a half straight, which usually was how long taping was. And. Yeah, you go into a room, there's cameras, there's pill clothes everywhere.
B
Bathroom, too?
A
No. So bathroom was free, but if there's two people in a bathroom, they said, two's a party. So then the cameras can come in. Like, if I'm showering. If I'm showering, and Dina comes in to do her makeup, the camera's allowed to come in. They never did. We always had our privacy. Yeah, but that. That was the rule. Two's a party. Crazy.
B
So they never once told you, like, hey, we need you to have this conversation. Or like, hey, can you go over here and do that? It was all pretty real.
A
No, I mean, I feel like they maybe insinuated some stuff, like off camera, like, this is what's going on. Just to let you know.
B
Planting little seeds.
A
Yeah, planting seeds to get you guys kind of, especially an interview. They. They. And then we'd be like, wait, she said that? Oh, so interview was really where it was like, wait, why? What did she say? So then you get out of interview, and you're like.
B
And was it all real? Like they actually said that stuff or were the producers really just trying to probe you or a combination of the two?
A
Both.
B
So sometimes they really were just trying to get a reaction out of you.
A
Yeah. I mean they're producers.
B
I know, but God, it's like. And obviously all happened to me too, but so shady.
A
I mean, that's their job though.
B
I know.
A
It is reality.
B
And so what about the editing? Did you feel like the editing was kind of where they could manipulate story or. That was pretty real too. You guys were kind of maybe just giving them enough that they didn't really need to know.
A
Yeah, no, yeah, it was all, it was all how it was.
B
Right. Because you guys were just living your life, going out and having a good
A
time and I wish they edited it better. Like my crazy moments of.
B
That's what made it.
A
I know.
B
What do you regret from it?
A
Everything.
B
No, come on now.
A
I always say like everything that happened on the show made me who I am today. And I'm like so proud of, you know, the mom that I became and you know, the grown up and being responsible. But yeah, I was, I was just living my life.
B
You were young, young.
A
Living my life, enjoying the moment and you know, the process and what I was going through and it is what it is.
B
Exactly. Is there like one moment from the show that you're like, oh God, I never want my kids to see that or everything really. So cute.
A
No, but like the getting arrested on the beach.
B
I do remember that one.
A
A boob flopping out, like doing cartwheel in the club.
B
That's funny.
A
Yeah, but my kids to be like mommy. Yeah.
B
So have your kids not seen it?
A
No, they, they've seen clips because they're on TikTok all the time. My oldest is 14, going to be 14. My middle Giovanna, she's going to be 12. My, my youngest is 6. So he's still baby. He doesn't know what's going on. No.
B
Yeah, it's just like can't shield them from it.
A
Yeah. And the kids, his friends and everybody know who I am. So like high school, they're like, oh my God, your Snooki son. Oh yeah. It's like a thing.
B
So how are the other parents at school with you?
A
They're nice.
B
Yeah.
A
So luckily my husband Gianni, he grew up in the town so like everybody knows his family and it's like a small town so they all know each other. So it's like he already knew everybody.
B
Great.
A
You know, so it's not just, like, me coming in to a random town because they already know my husband.
B
So you feel like you can just be normal, just another mom at school.
A
Yeah.
B
Yeah. I love. I know. It's such a good.
A
What about you?
B
Same thing. I mean, I live in. It's a really small little town, and there's a real sense of community, and so everyone just kind of bands together and is. No one treats me differently, which I love.
A
Oh, good.
B
No one gives a About me out where I am. Like, and I'm Franklin. You're. Because you have a store in Nashville. You're probably familiar with Franklin and everything, right? Or not really.
A
No. Yeah.
B
Wait, what'd you say?
A
I just know Nashville.
B
Oh, okay.
A
Okay.
B
I thought you said I don't have a store in Nashville. I was like, what?
A
No, I just know Nashville. Yeah. Which I love.
B
You got to get out to Franklin. Next time you're there, you got to call me. And you come out where? I'm like, 45 minutes south of the city. Okay. But, like, it's a really small, little country town, and I love it. Yeah. So people treat me the way they would. Anyone else love that. What about when you go to Disney or Orlando and you go to these cheer competitions or people pictures everywhere.
A
Yeah. But, like, I have a. I have a big group of, like, cheer moms.
B
Yeah.
A
We're like, not now. Her daughter's about to take the mat.
B
Oh, sweet.
A
So, like, my cheer mom friends can, like, kind of help me out there.
B
Yeah.
A
Because in some moments, like, I don't mind taking pictures. I'm like, yes. Like, good luck. Nice to meet you. But, like, when my daughter's about to compete, and then when she's off the mat and I'm waiting for her and people are asking for, like, not the right time.
B
Yeah.
A
Not the right time.
B
Yeah.
A
Because I'm like, I'm in it.
B
You're being mom.
A
I'm being a mom.
B
Your mom. What does your daughter think of all that? Does she get annoyed of the attention?
A
She hates it.
B
She does. Yeah.
A
And I feel bad, but, like, what
B
are you supposed to do?
A
Yeah. And this is why you have the life that you have, the house that you have, the things I buy you being able to afford cheer because it's not cheap, like, Exactly. Yeah.
B
I know. My son's so good at, like, pointing out people taking photos, and they'll, like, look at them. And I'm.
A
You guys see, I know Giovanna does that. And she goes, yeah. I'm like, giovanna, I know.
B
Like, stop. You can't do that.
A
Yeah, you look like a brat. Cut it out.
B
Okay, wait. So Jersey Shore family vacation, the new season is airing May 7th.
A
Yes.
B
This is the. This is the eighth season. Is that right?
A
Is it eight? Nine? I don't even know where we are.
B
Research. Well, you got. You've been on TV a long ass.
A
I know, but the fact that it's
B
eight seasons is incredible.
A
So it's more seasons of family vacation than we did the original Jersey Shore.
B
I thought so. How many seasons of the original did you guys do?
A
Six.
B
I mean, that's also incredible, though.
A
Yeah.
B
So which one of you enjoyed doing more?
A
I like both for different reasons.
B
Why? What are the reasons?
A
I don't know. Like, like, I grew up and I had a great time and made so many memories and made my life what it is because of Jersey Shore. Met my husband, had kids, and now this one is more of just like us being adults and being parents. And I feel like all the fans, you know, grew up with us, like, you know, getting married and having kids. We're all growing up together.
B
Yeah.
A
So obviously I prefer this one because, you know, we're being parents and kids, responsible, but also, like, we have our good times. I mean, enjoy yourselves.
B
Are they all of the kids on it? Yes. What was that like? Do your kids enjoy filming?
A
So only my daughter comes. Okay. And she only likes it if Melanie's there and Milani is Jenny's daughter. But, like, if I'm filming at the house and we're, like doing, you know, pickups and we're doing all these scenes and I have to have my kids in it, they won't do it. So I'm not gonna force my kids not to do it. So my oldest is like, no, mom, I don't like being on camera. I'm like, fine, yeah, I'm just gonna knock on your door and pretend I'm talking to you. And then Giovanna's, like, washy with it. And then my youngest, he doesn't know. So, yeah, he loves it. And he's, you know, taking the camera and having a good time with it.
B
That's fine.
A
Like, I'm not going to force my kids to be on camera if they don't want to.
B
I think that's so important because I think that's one.
A
Boundaries.
B
Yeah. It's important to respect kids in that regard. Yeah. I even, like, I didn't even show my kids on social media until recently because I wanted them to decide if they want their lives exposed or not.
A
I remember that you never showed their face.
B
No, until.
A
Until I was very smart.
B
Thanks. Well, until I thought they were old enough to decide, and now they all want to be on social media, and I'm like, cool, and I'll show you now. But I just wanted them to be able to make. To make that decision.
A
I love that.
B
Yeah, it's been great. So it's the eighth and final season, right?
A
Yes.
B
Why? Is it. Is it because you guys are done with it?
A
No. So I feel like MTV is obviously making a change. You know, a lot of networks are doing different changes and everything, so.
B
Well, MTV is gone. She gone.
A
Yeah.
B
Basically, it's going under. It's the end of an era.
A
It's so sad. It's so sad. But it's, like, bittersweet. Cause it's like, we've been there for, I don't know, like, 15, 16 years now. So, so blessed to have the opportunity and be with MTV for so long. But it's also, like, okay, like, excited for the next chapter? Like, where are we gonna go? What are we gonna do? What's the show gonna be about? We're definitely not done filming.
B
Okay.
A
Because we always said we want to film until we're in a nursing home again. Depends. And, you know, being old ladies. Exactly. Yeah. So we're just trying to figure out the next step, but. Yeah.
B
You never get sick of it.
A
I mean. Yeah, but we. We have nice breaks, so usually we'll film and we'll do, like, two months straight, and then we won't film for another, like, six months.
B
No. That's actually so nice.
A
Yeah. So we literally just bang it out, and then we'll have, like, half the year to ourselves, and then we'll do it again.
B
And Sally Ann is one of your producers, right?
A
Yes.
B
Oh, my God. I love Sally Ann. I worked on a show with her. She is a hoot. It's so great. Is there anything that she's asked you to do that you've been like, I don't know if I want to do that.
A
No.
B
So this show is still very real.
A
Yes. I mean, obviously we have, like, meetings on what we're gonna show. So now we don't film 24 7. So it's not like we're just in a house and, you know, we can just, like, go with that. So now we have meetings of, like, okay, what are you doing in your life? Like, what can we capture? What's going on? So I wouldn't say it's, like, set up and fake, but it's More planned.
B
Yeah.
A
Like, what do you have going on? What can we film? What can we capture?
B
And, like, recreating maybe a sentence or two. Right. To just try to like, get that story or.
A
No. Do you feel like it's more of just like an idea? Like, hey, this is what we're getting in the scene. Do. Do as you make it and just have fun.
B
They never step in and tell you guys what to say?
A
No.
B
Wow. What is that? Like, that's.
A
I mean, I don't even know what that's like. I would hate that.
B
Yeah. No, because then it became. Then it. To me, it's just not real. Like, now I feel like.
A
Yeah.
B
Doing improv or something.
A
No, you're an actor.
B
Yeah. Thank you.
A
You're basically an actor.
B
I'm an actress.
A
You are.
B
Thank you so much, Snooki.
A
You are.
B
It was true.
A
You're a great actress. Because I never knew.
B
Thank you. Yeah. No, I. It's like, for me, hearing that, I think would be so nice to just be able to go into scene and just actually be yourself and just carry on.
A
Yeah.
B
Instead of having to stop constantly and.
A
No, I would hate that.
B
No, I know. Because then it just becomes exhausting.
A
Awful.
B
Yeah. Okay, let's see. Hold on now. I got all sidetracked, too.
A
It was my burp.
B
I know. Your burp really threw me off.
A
Very gassy today.
B
You guys know I love electrolytes, and I swear they've made a huge difference in my energy. And I notice it just in my hair and my skin and my nails, all the important things. Well, element has a new one, and it is lemonade iced tea. B
Let's go back to when the show was first out there, those first couple of years and you guys were in Hollywood. Now you're at award shows and you're like doing photo Shoots and you guys. So we're doing all of the things, right? What was that like?
A
I mean, we were excited and we were like, oh, my God. Like, we're invited on. So I remember the first week in la, they were like, okay, we're going to go do press. I never really traveled or went on a plane. I went to, like, Disney, like, once. So I was like, oh, my God, we're going on a plane. We're going to California. Hollywood. Like, oh, my God. So we were only supposed to be there, I feel, for like, three days. And everyone knew we were in town, so we stayed for, like, a week and a half, like, doing, like, Fallon and all the shows. And that's when we met you.
B
Yes.
A
Yeah. And it was just. It was crazy. We were like, did we make it,
B
like, overnight, too, right?
A
Crazy.
B
I mean. Yeah, it really was crazy how it was just instant fame.
A
Yeah.
B
Did you find that anyone was ever weird to you guys in Hollywood? Like, any actors or actresses, did they have, like, a little chip on their shoulder because you guys came from reality?
A
No. Everyone was the total opposite.
B
Everyone.
A
They were like, we love your show. Like, come with us. Like, here's a drink. Like, everyone was so nice and, like, warming that I didn't expect celebrities to be like that. I love it. I was like, holy shit.
B
Was. Who was one, like, fan girl moment that you were like, oh, my God, I can't believe she or he even knew who I was.
A
Leonardo DiCaprio.
B
That's a good one.
A
That's a good one. Beyonce, she was. She was posing on the carpet, and we were walking by, and we're like, oh, my God, Beyonce, She's. She's like, stop, stop, stop. And she ran over to us and gave us all a kiss on the cheek and said, I love your show.
B
No. Swear to God. Wait, that's amazing.
A
Amazing.
B
Y.
A
So, like, so many people just, like, watching our show and like, acknowledging us and saying they love us. It was crazy.
B
That is very cool.
A
Yeah.
B
What is the coolest thing you guys got to do because of the show? Would you say? Like, what's a highlight that stands out for you?
A
Well, for me, personally, yeah. I got to do WrestleMania.
B
Very cool.
A
Which is amazing.
B
I remember that.
A
And Dancing with the Stars. Oh, yeah.
B
Did you do that? I did.
A
How was it? When?
B
Oh, God, 2010or11?
A
How'd you do?
B
I got kicked off after the third episode.
A
Rude.
B
Yeah. But you wanna know what happened, Snooki? So I.
A
Who were you dancing with?
B
Mark Ballas. Who did you dance with?
A
Sasha. It was his first year.
B
Oh, yeah. Oh, it was. What year were you on it?
A
2017, I think.
B
I remember when you were on it, but I. So my ex husband and I got engaged really fast. We broke up and I did Dancing with the Stars, and they wanted me to talk about how we broke up, and I said no. And that same week, they kicked me off. I'm like, this shit's rich.
A
You're lying.
B
No.
A
And I was like, I always thought it was rich.
B
I was, like, a pretty good dancer.
A
Yeah.
B
I was like, what do you mean, yeah? Because I wouldn't talk about it anyways. Whatever. It's fine. How far did you make it?
A
Week seven.
B
That's good. Did you like it?
A
I loved it. I was so upset, and I left as a zombie because it was Halloween week, so I didn't even leave. Cute. Oh, what a. I had, like, crap makeup on, I was so upset. And he's like, why are you crying? I'm like, I'm leaving as a zombie. I'm not even leaving. Cute. In, like, a cute dress.
B
What was your favorite dance? Do you even remember?
A
I love the quickstep.
B
I don't think I ever. Oh, no, I did do it. I did do it.
A
I killed that quickstep.
B
I bet you. I want to go and watch your dance.
A
I look so professional.
B
I love it.
A
Every time I get drunk, I'm like, look at me. I'm dancing with the stars.
B
I wish I could remember.
A
I just did it last week in Canada. I was like, watch me.
B
I don't remember any of my shit. I can do, like one little cha cha thing. That's it. It's so.
A
Yeah, it's like. It's drunk moves.
B
Drunk moves. Yeah. I love. I love that. Do you guys have producer credit on family vacation?
A
No.
B
Well, how come you guys never got that?
A
I just feel like that was never.
B
It was never on the table.
A
Yeah.
B
Why don't you guys think after all these years, you could.
A
I mean, that would be great.
B
Yeah, I'll represent you.
A
Yeah, that'd be great. No, I. That was never an option. I feel like we all tried very hard.
B
You did try. I feel like if you guys all came together and you were like, well, then none of us are doing it. They would. 1,000%.
A
Well, that's why it's bittersweet that we have a next chapter, because now we can push for the things that we really want.
B
There you go. Yeah, absolutely.
A
So I'm excited for what's to come.
B
And do you. Have you ever Been able to get anything out? Like, have you filmed anything? And then it's going to come out and you're like, hey, you know what? Actually, I'm really not comfortable with this.
A
No, you.
B
Because you just don't care. You're like, whatever, I'm an open book. No.
A
Yeah. But also, like, me being a mom and, like, say, like, I fall and I'm drunk and I fall, like, off the couch and, like, my underwear shows and it's like, in a trailer. I'm like, can you please just, like, take that out? Like, and don't show that ever. Yeah, they're nice to be like, okay. Like, we get it.
B
So they will listen to you on
A
silly things like that.
B
That's great.
A
But it's not silly to me because I hate that.
B
No, I don't think.
A
I'm like, I don't want to look like a trash mom when you, like, also, I'm having a good time.
B
Yeah. It changes when you become a mom.
A
Yeah.
B
I respect that. But they'll listen to you. That's great.
A
Little things like that. Yeah.
B
But nothing but, like, big scenes to
A
where, like, there's a fight and you didn't like what you said? No, no.
B
Do you see everything before it comes out?
A
No.
B
You still don't, Snooki?
A
No. Even, like, the previews. You know when you do press and press, like, sees previews.
B
Yes.
A
Of, like, the episode. Or they see the full episode before and they're asking you about it.
B
You haven't even.
A
We've never even seen it.
B
Come on. That seems insane to me.
A
So every time it airs, it's the first time we're seeing it, too.
B
And I'm like, oh, my God. We like racing home to see it, to watch it.
A
Be like, what is going on?
B
Oh, my God. That gives me, like, a pit in my stomach for you.
A
Yeah.
B
But I guess you have an idea.
A
It's also like, I'm a fan also, so I'm, like, judging us. Like, oh, this is good. This is a good episode.
B
Well, that's the thing. It's like, sometimes you have to remove yourself from the situation.
A
Just I'm pretending it's not me and my friends.
B
Yes, you're smart. Yeah, you're smart. I know. What does a normal day look like for you when you're not filming? Just normal life. Mom, businesswoman.
A
Normal life. Yeah. Getting up, taking the kids to school. So obviously I have to bring Lorenzo to school, which is, like, so early because it's middle school. I know. Like, come on, get out Because I. I'm not a morning person and I like my sleep, but obviously we have to be moms.
B
What time are you out the door
A
in the morning for Lorenzo? Like seven o'? Clock?
B
Yeah. Are you making lunches? Breakfast.
A
So I usually buy the lunch, but I forgot to buy the lunch for the month, so I'm making the lunch. So it's all sandwiches and just chips, like, whatever. Or I'll like drop off McDonald's. Like, I don't have time, I'm tired.
B
I get it.
A
Like, what do you want? I'll drop it off. Yeah, I'm not like a cookie cutter mom.
B
I get it.
A
I'm like, just surviving.
B
Surviving. I'm surviving, trying to get through.
A
Yeah. So, yeah, wake up at seven, bring Lorenzo to school, come back, get my two others ready because they're still in elementary school. Bring them there. And then I usually go to my store in Madison, which is, you know, like 10 minutes away from me.
B
Oh, that's nice. Yeah.
A
So I go to my store, like, see our new arrivals, do videos, make content. And then it's Starbucks and Target and Walmart.
B
What a day. Why are we going to all. Why do you need Target and Walmart?
A
Because I just like walking around.
B
Okay.
A
Am I that old that I like to walk around?
B
No, I love it. I get it. I love going to the grocery store. It's like the same thing. I love going up and down every single aisle.
A
Yeah. Just to do it. And then I go home and then I'll do cardio, whatever.
B
Yeah.
A
Binge a couple episodes, do some work in my office and then go get the kids.
B
My wish is a great day, the best day. I love this for you. Yes. Okay. And then once the kids are home. What's happening? Dinner. Sports, sports, sports. So are you eating on the, like, on the move? Because you guys are from. Yeah, it's a lot.
A
Yeah. So making food before they get home.
B
Oh, okay.
A
Like bringing Giovanna. Yeah.
B
Oh, okay, great.
A
Bring Giovanna to cheer. And then my son has wrestling. My little one just stays and hangs.
B
Right.
A
So, yeah, it's mostly just carpools. Yep. Until 9:00.
B
And then you're in bed.
A
Yep. I know.
B
These are great days.
A
It's great days.
B
I love these days for you.
A
Yeah.
B
Okay, let's talk about your business. You have the Snooki shop.
A
Yes.
B
You have four locations. So you've got Nashville.
A
Yes.
B
Which. Are you in Nashville a decent amount or. Not really.
A
Not really. I feel like I go like twice a year.
B
Yeah.
A
But I'M actually going in June. What are we going? Oh, yeah.
B
Oh, my God. Of course I'm going to be gone. Where are you going? I'm taking my kids on vacation.
A
Oh, good for you.
B
We all need it.
A
Where are you going?
B
Cabo and la. My kids, baby.
A
Of course you are.
B
It'll be a little fun trip with my kids.
A
I love that.
B
And then they want to go to, like, Disney and do all the stuff in la, so we're gonna do that. So I'll be gone for almost two weeks.
A
All right, so I'll just squat at your house.
B
Go ahead. You can go check out Franklin and. Yeah, go.
A
I love that.
B
Go live in my house.
A
No. Yeah.
B
So the other ones.
A
And then it's Madison, New Jersey, which is close to my house.
B
Was that the first one you opened?
A
Yes. Yeah. And then Seaside Heights.
B
Oh, my gosh.
A
Where the show is. Seaside. Yeah, yeah, Seaside Heights. And then I have Huntington, New York.
B
Amazing.
A
Yeah.
B
Do you have plans to open more?
A
Well, I saw that you're opening in Austin. Yeah. Girls, we were just talking about going to Austin.
B
Come to Austin with me.
A
Yeah. Are you open yet?
B
We're. No, we're opening the end of June.
A
Okay.
B
I'm so excited. I'm so. It's actually.
A
It's a good place, right, for.
B
I feel like it's the best place right now to open up a store. Are you actively looking? No, it took me two years to find that location.
A
It's.
B
Yeah. Where else are you looking? What other places would you open?
A
Oh, I was always thinking, like, Miami, Florida.
B
Oh, my God. Crush.
A
Yeah. But it's like, I don't know the locations there. Like, I'm not.
B
I know.
A
You know?
B
I know. Do you? Well, I love. Because you're super hands on with it.
A
The whole thing.
B
The whole thing.
A
The whole thing is my investment. Yeah.
B
Okay. So you're 100% owner.
A
Yes.
B
Yes. I love that for you. And then you're on line to your E comm as well, right?
A
Yeah, I've been doing that since, like, 2010. So I always had my online store.
B
This is amazing.
A
But then, you know, once everything calmed down, I was like, I really want a brick and mortar. And then I did that. 2018, 19. Amazing that ever since then, I'm just like, boom, boom, boom. Yeah.
B
I love it. What made you want to get into retail?
A
Well, I always worked in retail. I worked at Forever 21. I loved working at the mall, and I just love clothes.
B
Yeah.
A
Like, if I could have, like, a dream job, I would be Working at a retail store.
B
And so are you doing jewelry? You're doing all the designing and everything?
A
Well, designing, we do. I design my merch.
B
Right.
A
But I'm more of a wholesaler.
B
Okay. So you've got a bunch of other brands in there. Oh, that's fun. So you're a buyer?
A
I'm a buyer.
B
That is so fun. I'm a buyer.
A
I design my own merch.
B
Yeah, because the sneaky shot. Yeah. Okay. Because I've seen all of your merch before.
A
Yeah.
B
So you're doing all that. That's so fun.
A
I do.
B
How fun?
A
No, it's the best.
B
What are your plans for it, like, in the next 10 years? What do you see with it?
A
Oh, God, I hope I have more stores and I hope we're very successful and still killing it, because it's very hard to run a store. Like, one week, you can be, like, killing it the next week. Like, no one's coming in and you have all these employees to pay. I mean, it's a hit or miss.
B
I know. I say it's like, it's always like, just sitting on your shoulders.
A
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
B
It's a lot. And then. And people ask me this all the time, and sometimes I'm like, I've got the best answer. And other times I'm like, I have no clue. But how do you balance it all? Like being a mom, no clue. TV business.
A
I don't know.
B
It's a lot. Yeah.
A
I really don't know.
B
I know.
A
I feel like I just do it. I do love being busy, and I do love multitasking, But I also love to bedrot. And I'll shut my phone off and you won't hear from me for two days.
B
That's important.
A
And everyone's like, hello. Like, I need these answers. And I'm just like, you're prioritizing you. Yeah.
B
It's called self care.
A
Yeah. So I feel like I'm doing a lot more rot days than I should. It's good because I'm getting older. I don't know. No, I, like, I'm old and cranky.
B
I, I, me too. I get it. How old are you?
A
I'll be 39. Okay.
B
Yeah.
A
In November.
B
Yeah. I'm like a year older than you. Yeah.
A
You're gonna be 40.
B
I'll be 40 in January. I know.
A
You don't look it, though.
B
I love you for that.
A
You don't look it, though. Thank you.
B
That's all that matters.
A
That's all that matters.
B
No, I love you.
A
Yeah.
B
No, I know. Yeah. I'm like trying to plan my 40th now, but we'll see.
A
You can't plan your 40th. It has to be a surprise.
B
Well, no, if I was in a relationship, maybe it'd be a surprise. I'm your friend, freak to. I'm like, I want all my core people to just be at a beach somewhere.
A
Oh, okay.
B
I don't want it like a nice vacation to do. Yes.
A
Oh, no. I want to walk in and fireworks going off and. Yeah, I want the whole thing.
B
Well, I hope you get that for your 40th, Shirley. Yeah, well, yeah.
A
You got two years.
B
Yeah, exactly. You got.
A
You got a minute to plan.
B
You got a minute. I love it foreign. Let's take a minute to talk about momentum. Momentum is a longevity focused shake that was built by people who were tired of managing a shelf of supplements that didn't work together. Every scoop replaces 20 plus individual supplements with NAD plus precursors, collagen, Lion's Mane, Omega 3s and more, all in one clean daily shake. Momentum focuses on the things that actually decline as you age. Cellular energy, collagen, cognitive sharpness, joint health, gut function. Instead of sourcing each ingredient separately, hoping they interact well, you get a precisely formulated shake that handles it in one shot. It comes in five flavors and it's designed to taste good enough to actually look forward to. Something that I'm really into right now is collagen and hyaluronic acid, which is really good for joints. Of course, your skin and connective tissue ingredients that matter more in your 40s and 50s than they ever did before. There is grass fed whey protein and digestive enzymes, so it actually absorbs well. I've been in phases where I've taken handfuls of supplements every time I eat and it does get really annoying. So I love that there's a shake now that can replace that. Momentum has become one of those things I didn't realize I needed until I'd been using it for a few weeks. My mornings feel less like a production. I'm not standing over a counter trying to remember what I've taken. I just feel good, clearer, more even. So go to momentumshake.com honest and simplify your supplement intake. Get Momentum today and they'll send you a free welcome kit and travel collection. A 70 value to get you started. Live better, longer with momentum. If you've ever been blonde in your life, then you definitely understand that blondes deal with brassiness, damage and dryness. A
Yeah, 11 years this November.
B
That's incredible. What would you say the key to your successful marriages?
A
I feel like. I just feel like it's always obsessed with you. Like, marriage isn't easy. And I feel like at this point we're like siblings and we get so annoyed with each other that I'm like, you need to go over there, I'm gonna go over here, and then we're fine. And then like, we'll go on a date night and be nice. And then the next day it's just like siblings.
B
Yeah.
A
So I feel like we're at that
B
old marriage stage already there.
A
Yes. But. Yeah, it's.
B
But you guys seem like you like each other, like from the outside, like, you guys do seem like buddies. I think that's important. Is that fair to say? Oh, yeah. Like, you enjoy each other.
A
We do enjoy each other. And we have great times. And I feel like we're great with the kids and we have a great schedule. So when I have to work and I have to like, go somewhere, he's with the kids. Like, I don't have a nanny, I don't have a babysitter. It's all Gianni.
B
It's so nice.
A
Yeah. Yeah. So it's nice to be able to just have that balance.
B
Yeah. That partnership.
A
It's a partnership. And then when he wants to go golf when I'm home and he golfs for the weekend or goes out, I'm like, yeah, go. Cuz I just. I was away for work for two days.
B
Y.
A
So we have a great balance.
B
That's so nice that you can count on him. A good dad to me is like the sexiest thing on the planet.
A
Yeah, he's a great dad.
B
You're so lucky. That's so great. So just prioritizing each other, making date night a real thing and.
A
Yeah, yeah, just. And I would love more vacations alone.
B
Yeah, you guys should.
A
Yeah. So we're just trying to figure that out.
B
Yeah.
A
I want to go away for like the weekend.
B
You should.
A
Without the kids and just.
B
I know.
A
Go on the beach and drink all day.
B
You should.
A
Yeah.
B
Who would watch the kids if you guys did that? You guys have family?
A
Yeah. So his mother in law is great. My parents are great.
B
Right.
A
Just drop them off and bye.
B
Oh, that's so nice. I love that you don't have a nanny. Have you ever had a nanny?
A
No.
B
Good for you. Yeah.
A
Know how to babysitter? Here and there to, like, watch, you know, my baby.
B
Yeah.
A
When I'm, like, running errands when he was, like, little.
B
Yeah.
A
But.
B
Yeah, you raised all your babies by your. Well, your husband. But, like, you did it by yourself.
A
Yeah. I just feel like I never trusted anyone and. Yeah. Like, going through the nanny service and stuff. Like, they know who you are.
B
Yeah.
A
And some of my castmates had terrible experience with that. So I was like, no, I'm going to figure it out.
B
You're a badass.
A
I try.
B
Yeah. You're doing all the things. Like, you're out there in the trenches doing it all.
A
I mean, you also, though, I feel.
B
Yeah, but I mean, I have a babysitter, so still, she picks them up from school every day. I'm like, I can't. Yeah, I had a nanny. I had a nanny when they were little. I'm kind of the same way, though. It's like, I'm such a control freak. And I'm like, by the time I explain to someone what to do or how to do it, even more like an assistant. More than anything now, I'm like, I could have just done it myself.
A
You have an assistant?
B
No, I'm saying, like, I don't because I'm such a control freak that I'm like, I'll just do it myself.
A
Same.
B
Like, I would love.
A
Everyone always asks, like, why don't you have an assistant? I'm like, because I'll do it myself.
B
Yeah.
A
Like, I'm sure if, like, times were crazy and, like, I didn't have the time to do the things, I would get one. But no, I like doing things myself.
B
I know.
A
I like running out. I like doing errands.
B
Me too. I like being the ones picking up my kids. Except for school, but, like, taking them to basketball.
A
I hate school pickup.
B
Well, it's.
A
And I look disgusting.
B
Well, I never look good.
A
I'm in pajamas and Crocs and sometimes
B
I don't even brush my teeth to drop.
A
No.
B
Same morning.
A
No makeup. My hair is not brushed.
B
No. I like, put.
A
I just put big sunglasses on and
B
I'm like, my windows are tinted. Thank God.
A
I like, no, I have to, like, get out because I still have a little. Oh, my God, he's in kindergarten. So I have to walk out and
B
be like, oh, game changer. When you don't have to get out
A
of the car anymore. No, I know.
B
I just dropped them off. Bye.
A
Yeah, my too oldest is easy.
B
Yeah.
A
I'm so over kindergarten.
B
I can't believe you have a little one. In kindergarten. Oh, so you're, like, still fully in it?
A
Yeah.
B
Are you done? You're done?
A
Yes, I'm done. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, I'm done. Yeah, I got a dog.
B
There you go.
A
Yeah. Because I always said I wanted four kids, but after Angelo, I was like, no, no, I know.
B
I get it.
A
Because at some point, like, when. When they all go off to college, like, I want to be able to, like, travel and, like, do the things. So if I keep having kids, I'm gonna be 80 by the time I'm
B
never gonna be able to travel.
A
Exactly.
B
That's so funny you say that, though, about the dog, because I was my. I just put my German shepherd to. We had to put her down a few months ago, and I was gonna get another one, but I'm like. I'm, like, doing the math on it. I'm like, but if I do. Because I'll be. My kids will be out of the house in eight years, maybe. That sounds like a lot, but to me, I'm like, I know how fast that goes. My oldest has five. Five more years in the house. That, like, breaks my heart. Well, same with you.
A
Yeah, I know.
B
Same with you. Are you seventh grade right now? Is that your oldest?
A
So.
B
Yeah, so same thing.
A
Yeah.
B
But then my daughter. So I've got three, but my daughter, I only have eight more years with. I'm like, that goes by so fast, and I want to be able to travel.
A
Yeah.
B
So I'm like, I don't want to bring another dog into the mix, because then that'll be.
A
Just do it.
B
Well, I already have two dogs, so we're lacking in the dog department.
A
You're fine.
B
You separate Snooki and Nicole?
A
Yeah, I used to. When I became a mom, I was like, I'm Snooki for, like, the show, and, like, that's the brand, and that's who I am on the show. But me as a mom, I want to be Nicole, and that's when I first became a mom. Now I'm like, whatever. I don't care. Right. It's like, it is what it is. Like, Nicole Snooki, I don't care.
B
Yeah. It's, like, too hard to try to, like, differentiate.
A
Yeah.
B
But you do look at them. Like, two different Personas.
A
Yeah. Like, Snooki is the girl that's going out for the mom's night out and enjoying herself and having fun. And then Nicole's the mom doing the laundry, cleaning the house. Being a mom at home. Yeah. Being a slob.
B
Where did being A slob. Where did Snooki even come from?
A
So when we did the applications and we tried out for the show, they really wanted everyone to have nicknames. So like when you're filling out the application, it's like, okay, my name is Nicole. But like, what do your friends call you? And I'm like, well, they call me Nick. And they were like, no, something else. And I'm like, okay, well, one of my really good friends, my only friend Katie, she's the only person that called me Snooki or Snooks. And it's from Save the Last Dance. Oh yeah, the dj. I did not realize that. Yeah. So she started calling me that from Save the Last Dance. And she was the only person in my life that ever called me Snook. She never called me Nicole. So I was like, all right, well my, my one friend Katie calls me Snook. Snooki. And they were like, done.
B
How funny is that?
A
Yeah.
B
So like the situation, how did that come up?
A
Oh, it's freaking abs.
B
Oh, cuz he referred to them as the situation.
A
Situation.
B
Yeah, Self.
A
The abs that you licked.
B
I know. That was a big moment in my life. That was for the longest time.
A
That's my favorite picture.
B
I was like, if there's like one thing I could scrub from the Internet, it might be that photo.
A
You're excited. Who are you with?
B
I was with my friend Missy and God, who else was I with? I can't remember, but like a crew of us. I think we came from like a birthday dinner. So we were gone. We all were. Yeah. Okay, good. We were all in the same boat.
A
Yeah.
B
So funny.
A
Good times.
B
Okay, so recently you revealed that you have stage one cervical cancer. Cancer, yes. How did that feel getting those results back?
A
Terrifying. Like, hi, am I dying? What is going on? Yeah, I definitely had a breakdown. Like, oh my God, what am I going to do? Like, I got to get my will in place. Like, what's going to happen? Like planning my funeral. I was being so dramatic. But then like, I did research and I was like, this is so common for women and no one really talks about it and I'm going to be okay because, you know, there's things I have to do and I'll be fine. Cuz stage one is like the best case scenario.
B
Yeah.
A
So yeah, I just have to get a hysterectomy and then just have to watch it for the rest of my life.
B
Okay.
A
But yeah, it's scary when you hear the word cancer. You're like, oh my God. Like I'M dying. I have to do all these things, and I'm. My body's going to change.
B
Were you just going in for a routine checkup?
A
No. So I always had abnormal pap smears because I never got the HPV shot. Oh. So, yeah.
B
So from when you were, like, a teenager.
A
Yeah. Always abnormal. I always had to go every six months. Yeah. So I always had to make sure I was okay. And, you know, doing the pap smears, and then I would have to go back to, like, get more samples. Then everything was fine. But then recently, it was like, precancerous cells, and you have to come back and then do the colposcopy and, oh, this severe pre cancer. And then doing the biopsy, and it's like, oh, hi, you have cancer. So, yeah, it happened quick.
B
Wow. And I'm sure deciding to go public with that was a tough decision, or did you find it to be kind of easy? Like, what. What was that process? Deciding if you were gonna come out with that or not?
A
So I didn't think I was gonna tell anyone. Just like, my close family, and that's it. And let's deal with this like, no one's gonna know. But then once I went on TikTok because I didn't know anything about cervical cancer or hysterectomy. What is this? What is going on? Because, you know, when you Google it, it's just like, words.
B
Yeah.
A
Like Wikipedia words. Like, this is what's gonna happen. But I needed, like, personal. I needed someone to be relatable and, like, talk about their experience. So I went on TikTok, and there's just so many women saying, I just got diagnosed with stage one. This is what I have to do. And then other TikToks saying how they got a hysterectomy. It wasn't that bad, but, you know, I have to rest. Just, like, all the women's experience.
B
Yeah.
A
And I was like, I feel like I need to tell my story, because I literally looked for these women to make me feel better. So why not talk about it? Because nobody talks about it. And it's so common. Yeah, it's so common to have stage one cervical cancer.
B
I know. That's why I love that you're talking about it, because it makes other women feel not as alone.
A
Yeah.
B
I think it's really.
A
And also, like, go get your pap smears.
B
I know.
A
Like, I. This happened because I put off my. My appointments because I didn't want to go.
B
It's.
A
It's uncomfortable.
B
You're encouraged I don't think I've gone in like two years. You're encouraging.
A
Okay, so go get a friggin pap smear.
B
That's what. Yeah, it's good.
A
We don't go because it's uncomfortable, it's gross. Like, it's not nice. It's not fun.
B
No, it's not fun. But it doesn't mean that we shouldn't be going yet.
A
Yeah. So I held off for two years and then that's when it started to be like, pre cancerous. And then I held off again because I was like, I don't want to deal with this. It's gonna hurt because I have to do more scraping.
B
Yeah.
A
And I was like, I just don't want to deal with it. And then that's when it escalated to that.
B
Damn.
A
Yeah.
B
Okay, so next up. So you're gonna get the hysterectomy.
A
Yes.
B
When are you doing that?
A
I don't know yet. Okay, so you probably this summer.
B
Okay. Yeah.
A
Yeah.
B
What's the recovery on that? I don't even know.
A
Like, two weeks of like, not lifting or traveling and I'm literally traveling every single week.
B
Right. It's finding the time. Yeah.
A
And I talked to the doctor, so all my friends and, you know, my family's yelling at me, like, who cares about work? Like, you got to just get this done. But I'm like, when you have a TV show, you can't just move production. Like, it's already set in stone. Like, yes, I have to go to Canada.
B
Maybe they would be a little willing to work with you.
A
I think it's fine. I just want to get the show done. It's almost done. Yeah. And I talked to the doctor and I'm like, can this escalate to stage two, like overnight? And he's like, no, it'll take a couple of years. Like, I think you're okay to hold off till summer.
B
Okay.
A
So I got the okay from the doctor.
B
Okay. Yeah.
A
So, yeah, once everything calms down, the summer, I'm gonna do that. And then.
B
And your kids know, obviously, right?
A
Yeah.
B
How did they take the news?
A
They were just like, are you dying? Oh, like, mom, are you dying?
B
That makes me so sad.
A
I know. My little one was like, mommy, are you going to heaven? I'm like, can we stop? I, like, had a mental breakdown. I was like, everything's gonna be fine. Mommy just has to, like, do her tests and stuff, so. And her surgeries.
B
And how are you feeling about the surgery?
A
I'm terrified.
B
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
A
I'm like, scared to get a needle.
B
Yeah.
A
So I don't like pain. I don't like any of the things. So obviously, I'm just going to go, not even think about it, get it done, and then just deal with it. That's what I did with. Because I had a surgery two months ago for the cone biopsy. They have to put you under. Oh, they have to put you under, and they take a big chunk out of your cervix. So they took, like, a cone out of my cervix already.
B
What was the recovery like on that? Were you in pain after that?
A
Yeah, but it was. It was, like, horrible. Period cramps for, like, a week.
B
Yeah.
A
Wasn't terrible. Wow. Yeah.
B
Oh, my gosh.
A
So the fact that I did that, I'm like, okay. And I got my boobs done before,
B
so you can do.
A
Yeah, girl.
B
You can do anything.
A
You're fine. Yeah.
B
So I actually didn't think boobs was that bad, if I'm being honest.
A
Oh, my God. Are you kidding?
B
Did you.
A
I woke up, and it was like a dump truck on my.
B
It's heavy. Yes, it's heavy.
A
I couldn't breathe, and I was freaking out.
B
That's true. I redid mine, like, and there was,
A
like, a hole in my nipple. I'm like, what is that? So, like, there were guts coming out. I hated it.
B
I was so bandaged up, I couldn't see any.
A
No. I took the bandage off to look.
B
Snooki.
A
I put it back on.
B
It does feel heavy. It does feel like a bus is sitting on your.
A
Hate it. But I'm gonna do that again eventually.
B
I know. I just redid mine. It's worth it.
A
These are 11 years.
B
Mine were 10. I had a ruptured implant.
A
How?
B
I don't know. And that's the other thing. I had no idea how long it was.
A
That's scary.
B
I knew. We knew it was encapsulated.
A
Like, did you have pain?
B
No, but, like, I knew my.
A
It felt like.
B
It just looked weird. It was, like, hard as a rock. And so we knew it was encapsulated. But once he got in there. Yeah, the implant was ruptured, so. Same kind of thing. I talked about it publicly because I was like, this encourages women to get their boobs checked out or their implants checked out. You know, I just think I had no idea that could have been in there for years. You just never know.
A
Scary.
B
It is scary. I mean, it's all scary. All the things that we deal with. So they're squishy yeah. Make sure they're not hard as a rock. Oh, okay. Wait. I did want to ask you this, too. I heard that you tell your kids that the Jersey Shore was acting. Is that true?
A
Yes.
B
Snooki, that's the funniest thing I've ever.
A
Yes, it's acting. I'm gonna say, yeah, Mommy, like, wanted to go out and get wasted and get arrested on the beach or, like, do cartwheels naked in the club.
B
You are hilarious.
A
As of right now, I was told to do that, and I'm an actor.
B
You're an actress. Yes. You deserve an Oscar.
A
But, I mean, you know, once they get 18, 19, I'll be like, okay. That was Mommy, like, living her life.
B
That was. That's genius, though, to tell them that. Yeah.
A
Like, they made me do that. Like, I would never do that.
B
I mean, I really can hide behind that. Like, I would.
A
No, you.
B
Some of it.
A
Yeah.
B
Anyways. Yeah.
A
Well. So.
B
Yeah. I love you. It is so good to see you. Thank you for being here.
A
We should hang out more.
B
A thousand percent. You're gonna come to Nashville, and you're gonna call me and you're gonna let me.
A
Well, every time I'm in Nashville, you're not there.
B
I know that's true, but we need a fun Broadway night together. I feel like.
A
Yeah. I'm literally 45 minutes away from the city, so whenever you're here.
B
Okay. I know we can get here a lot. Okay. We need to do that.
A
Yeah.
B
We owe it to ourselves. And then tell everyone where they can find you. The Snooki shop. The show. Like, plug all your things.
A
Yeah. So snooki and the snookishop.com and the snooki shop on Instagram. And that's basically my baby.
B
There you go.
A
The Snooki Shop.
B
And then the. The New Jersey shore is airing May 7th.
A
May 7th. It's our last season on MTV, but we'll have more. But I'm excited for this.
B
The end of you guys.
A
It's not the end.
B
Not the end.
A
It's a different chapter.
B
Maybe we do, like, a Jersey Shore Hills crossover.
A
That'd be sick. But you can't have the new mayor of. You have to be real.
B
I will be with you. I'll be real.
A
You have to be real.
B
We'll get the new mayor of.
A
It could be me.
B
2 of 1.
