The following podcast is a Dr. Media production. This is, let's be honest with Kristen Cavallari, a podcast all about getting real and open on everything from sex, relationships, reality tv, wellness, family, and so much more. And just a fair warning, there will probably be some oversharing. Hello. Welcome. And I hope everyone is doing well, and I hope everyone is enjoying their summer. It's been really nice for me to have a minute. I. Things were towards the end of the. The last couple of months of school were so crazy with travel, basketball and sailor doing volleyball. All three of my kids doing the most at once was a lot. And the travel basketball. Oh, my God. Anyone who is involved in travel sports, do you get it? It's a lot. It's your whole life, so. And then that on top of, like, work at 110 and, like, doing all the things, it's been a lot. So I'm really enjoying summer now and taking a step back and having a bit of a break. My kids are not doing camps or anything, and that's been really nice. Usually the boys do football and they're not doing football this year. And I'm so happy. What a relief. I'm so relieved. I was getting. I was getting a little nervous just thinking about this upcoming football season, and then they both told me they were not gonna play anymore. So I'm really happy about that. So we really, quite honestly, everyone's having a chill summer, and it's been really, really nice. So I hope you guys are also having a nice, chill summer as well. And. Okay, so today we are gonna wrap up this little Mini Hills rewatch series that I've been doing today with the series finale. This was so fun for me to watch. I really. I really enjoy doing this. I'm glad that I did this, and I'm glad that you guys have liked it. The finale was kind of an emotional roller coaster for me. You know what? Also, too, it's just going back to that time in my life. I just, like, on one hand, it feels like a completely different lifetime, and then on another hand, it feels like yesterday and this moment in my life, like my early 20s, 21, 22, 23. They're so special. They were so fun. And like, you think you have so much responsibility, but really you don't have any. Like, barely had any compared to what I have now. And, oh, just such a time in everyone's life. So it's. It was fun for just to reminisce on that time period and also just to go back and. And watch this. Okay, so this is the finale, the series finale. This is episode 12 of season 6. And this aired originally July 12, 2010. How is that even possible? God, it literally does feel like yesterday. So I didn't watch the episodes in between the first episode of this season, which was Miami, which we just did, and this episode. So a lot has clearly happened, and I don't know what happened because I don't really remember it. I mean, I do. I do remember in this season, there was a shift in how they showed me. I think what they realized was there's a formula to these shows, and your main character has to be likable, at least back then. Or I think. No, they still. Still, your main character has to be likable. And when you're constantly painting me in this really bad light, I mean, and I will. I've always said the people who liked me, fucking. They ride. They go hard for me, you know, but, like, a lot of people did not like me. And that doesn't work as your main character. You need more people to be rooting for your main character. So I know somewhere in this season, there was a shift where they started to show me in a better light. And a lot of times what that meant in a better light for our main character is that the girls like you. So now me and all the girls are buddies, you know, go figure. And we're going to talk about it more in this episode. But why is it that the main character, at least back then, had to be a bit of a victim or like, me getting my heart broken from Brody makes me more, what, Relatable? More likable? Like, why does that have to be the case? So they showed me in. In that light in this episode, and I was like, oh, I don't like this because it's so not me. But fine, I get what they're doing. And it just goes to show you, though, how easily they can manipulate these shows and construct what they're trying to do. You know, all of a sudden, oh, let's just get her at lunch with the girls and have the girls be talking about her in a. In a better way. And all of a sudden, oh, everyone, look at that. Kumbaya. It's that simple. So they have all of us girls together, me, Audrina, Lo, and Stephanie, and just like, we're all just best friends. Which was funny watching the Miami episode. Straight into this, I was like, oh, wow, okay. We've come so far. Oh, and by the way, just to start this off, my voice is still raspy. Can we just. Can we just talk about that? My voice is raspy in this scene. I wasn't out partying the night before. I told you guys. My voice just gets raspy. Oh, my God. That was kind of validating or vindicating, I guess is the right word. Like, thank you. Told you guys. Thank you so much. Okay. But anyway, sorry. I just had to do that for my own. My own self. So the girls and I are all talking about where we're at in our lives right now. And what we're doing, clearly, is setting up for the future and wrapping up this whole series. And basically, it seems like all of the girls have their lives figured out except for me. And I'm kind of like, I don't know what I want to do with my life. Like, I'm at a crossroads. I don't know which way to go. I don't know, do I want to stay here? Do I want to? And that was because we were thinking about doing a spin off of me moving to London. I don't think we referenced London specifically. We just say Europe. But at the time, we were talking about doing a spin off in London, which. Oh, thank God I didn't do that. I can't imagine. Had I gone on to do another show and kept going, I would have lost my mind. So I'm glad that didn't work out, but that was the reason we were setting up, that I need a change. I need to get out of here. They're making it seem like I'm heartbroken about Brody, which is part of the reason why I need to leave. I need to just get out of la. I can't be in the same city as Brody. And, you know, they have the boys playing golf, which is Brody, Frankie, and Taylor. And Brody's talking about how he's seen someone else, and that's why we're not together. You know, he told me that. That he is seeing someone else. And, like, they're all giving the impression that I'm obsessed with Brody, basically, you know. You know, Stephanie has a boyfriend. Low has a boyfriend. Low is talking about moving in with her boyfriend, but she wants to be engaged first. So everyone has, like, their next phase of life set up, right? Like, the girls have all wanted boyfriends. Now they all have them. Like, Lowe's probably gonna get engaged and move in with her boyfriend. And then you have me, who's, you know, heartbroken and lost. And Stacy and I are at my house, and we're talking about Brody, of course, because I'm Just so distraught about him. And we're talking about how Brody and I have been friends with benefits, which. That. What? That wasn't even true. That wasn't even true. They. So I don't remember exactly where in the timeline, but, you know, the first season that I did, Brody and Jade were together. We made it seem like they broke up on the show, and then they got back together and really they were together the whole time. But then somewhere along the way, I guess it's. I guess it was maybe pre. And it must have happened in season five, actually, Brody and Jade really did break up. And then they had. It seemed like Brody and I were a thing. And I will tell you guys, Brody and I did have one night in between here, somewhere in there where we did hook up. One night. That was it. And nothing ever happened. Like, we never. I don't know. It wasn't even really on the table. I don't know. I think Brody. Brody and I really dated when I was 18. He was my first boyfriend in LA. We had so much fun together. Like, really. I mean, some of the best memories. But when I joined the Hills, I don't think. I don't know. Like, I just don't ever remember it being a thing. I was dating someone else. And in fact, during this episode, this is when I was dating Miguel, the cameraman on the Hills. And I remember that being a whole thing. When they fired Miguel a week before we wrapped was. I said to them, I have been nothing but professional on camera. I've been dating Brody. You guys would have had no idea. We got caught because of paparazzi at the airport. And so my argument was, you guys had no idea. We've been dating for months and you guys had no idea. So it's so funny to me that, like, on the show, I'm like, oh, poor me. Like, I'm devastated and I'm, like, dating the cameraman. But so. So Stacy and I are talking, and, yeah, it was saying we've been friends with benefits, but, you know, that never works. And I'm just so sad because everyone else is moving on with their lives and I have nothing. And I just. I need a big change. I want to move. I do like that. I say I want to be scared. Like, I want to get out of my comfort zone. I like that. I. I love that. I want to go find myself. It's time to make new memories. So I don't know, though, but, like, the whole Europe storyline, it's hard for me to take seriously. Of course, obviously, I know that it was just completely pulled out of our asses. I think it was honestly like a semi last minute thing of like, what little seeds can we plant to like maybe do a spin off? We're like, oh, I'll move to Europe. Like it just, just sort of happened and they ran with it and it made the show. Obviously. I don't know how else you would have ended it though with me if I'm, I mean, I don't know which. You know what's so funny though is so we. This aired in July. A month later I went to Chicago and I met my now ex husband and I did move and I did have a complete change. And it just, it's interesting that this was like the fake storyline that I had. But like in a lot of ways it all sort of did come true and like the next phase of my life is what completely changed my life forever. Which is just wild to think about. So. But I don't know, I wondered like, as the audience, did the Europe storyline feel forced or did it seem real? Maybe it seemed real. I don't know. It's hard for me to say. All right, let's talk about K18. This is for anyone who cares about their hair health. If you're not familiar with K18, it is a very popular biotech engineered hair care brand known for its patented K18 peptide technology. And for good reason, because this stuff really does work. I am a fake blonde. I know, shocking. And so I've actually been using their triple Bright Oxidation Defense purple shampoo. And I love a purple shampoo. I don't use it every day, but I love it because it really does work. And the K18 products, when I use them, I can really tell a difference in my hair. My hair feels really strong, but it's also silky smooth. And anyone who colors their hair knows how important it is to really take care of it. So if you haven't checked out K18 yet, highly, highly recommend. You can shop K18 at Sephora or you can get 10% off your first purchase at K18hair.com and you're going to want to use code Kristen. That's code Kristin. 18hair.com I can't wait to see what everyone says after using these products for just a short time, you are going to notice a huge difference. So let me know because I'm excited to hear your journey. All right, let's take a second to talk about the absorption company. Most people assume that if they're taking supplements every day, they're getting the benefits Right. But the reality is the vast majority of supplements have incredibly low absorption rates, meaning most of what people spend money on never actually gets used by the body. The absorption company is focused on solving that exact problem with pharmaceutical grade absorption technology designed to help nutrients actually work. Because no matter how powerful a supplement is on paper, it only matters if your body can absorb it. They have a berberine, which I've been really excited because I've heard so many great things about berberine. It's always sort of have been called nature's oic. But there's one major problem most people don't know about. Most berberine absorbs at less than 1%, meaning many people never even experience the full metabolic and blood sugar benefits. Again. The absorption company developed a clinically studied berberine that absorbs over six times better, helping support metabolism, cravings, insulin sensitivity and blood sugar more effectively. This product does not contain semaglutide and is not intended to replace prescription medications. I've only been taking berberine for a short amount of time, but so far I love it. So start taking supplements your body can actually absorb. Go to Absorbmore.com and enter honest at checkout for up to 35% off your first order. I think by now we all sort of know that a lot of wellness brands will green wash their products or their processes to say that they're more natural or clean than they really are. Nature Sunshine doesn't just talk about the planet. They sustainably source ingredients and craft their supplements with 100% solar powered manufacturing. You guys know I love a supplement company that is transparent and has good quality quality ingredients. Depending on what you have going on, they really have something for everybody. So maybe you just want some brain edge or you want Marine Glow for healthier skin or like I said, chlorophyll, which I'm really into right now for a gentle daily detox. I think it's delicious and it's convenient. Chlorophyll stick packs that support gut health reduce bloat and leave you feeling lighter and more energized. So try Nature's Sunshine and experience the difference with supplements that are better for you and the planet. Okay, so then you have me going to Brody's condo. He's swimming and I just show up. Well, Brody lived in a secure building with a doorman. I couldn't just show up, by the way. But like, I mean, like, Brody's just up there swimming laps and I just show up. But I tell him I'm moving to Europe, you know, and by the way, like, the fact that I like literally just decided to move to Europe within like 10 minutes of this episode is hilarious to me. But it just, they're making it seem like I'm so jealous of this new girl that he's dating and I'm having this going away party. He says he's not coming because he, he's all butthurt that I'm leaving too. And I'm like, all right, don't come to my party then. Like, whatever. And it's, it's funny because while this scene is definitely 100% fake, those emotions that we're both acting out are very, I think, true to, like, if we were in that real situation, to me they felt very real. Where it's a 23 year old girl and Brody was probably 25 at the time, who, like, there's so much more that you want to say to each other, but you don't know how to. And neither one of you can be vulnerable right now. So you're acting like, I don't care, but like, really you both care the most. If you could just, if, if one person could just be like, I love you. Don't go. You'd be like, I know, I love you too. Like, it'd be resolved that quickly. I think it just really captures that age and that emotional immaturity so well, even though, again, it wasn't real. But I think because we, like, here's what I'll say about the Hills is while the. How do I want to say this? The interactions with each other weren't real. I think a lot of times we were able to tap into what it would feel like because like, I think of the. Okay, so here's what I'm trying to say. The emotions felt real to me because even though the situations weren't real, we could tap into it and we could pull from different situations in our life. Much like improv, right? Like I've always said the hills. To me, it was almost kind of like improv. And I do feel like we were good. We were really good at that. And because we were, we were living that age like we were those people in so many ways. And so I think that's why we were able to do it. So easily. Audrina's moving to the beach. She has this really sick house right on the water. I don't know if that was really, really her house or not. I don't know. I don't know. I want to say maybe then we have a party at the Roosevelt Hotel at the pool. This was a place we always went to. The Roosevelt had awesome parties. They were. It was so much fun. This was one of our. Our hangouts. And I'm having a love fest with the girls, which, again, I love that they're showing this now. And because, by the way, to me, my little love fest with the girls of, like, saying how much we love each other and we're gonna miss each other and all that. That was real. Like, that was us. And we always had those moments. It felt like they just never showed them. So. And I said this about Laguna beach, too. Like, when they would show those little moments that were really real, I loved them. Like, that was me. And that was actually how I would interact with the girls. By the way, I think that's what pisses me off so much. Not pisses me off, but, like, at the time, what irked me so much is I am a girls girl. Like, that scene of me with the girls is how I am with women. I've always been like that, except for if I didn't like you. Lauren in high school was a different situation. Like, you know, I've had my little tiffs with girls in my late teens and early twenties, but for the most part, I'm a. Or especially now as an adult, I'm a girl's girl. And they never wanted to show that. And so when I do see this little glimpse of that, I'm like, yes, that's real. That's real real. But again, they. They make it seem like I'm so sad about Brody Jenner. And what do you know? Here comes Brody. No way. Brody came to my going away party. Like, I'm so happy, and it's so dramatic, you know? And all the girls are like, oh, my God, what are you going to do? Are you going to talk to him? Like, oh, my God. Oh, my God. I'm like, I don't know. Oh, my God, I'm scared. And the funniest part about all of this to me is so the week prior, I was in Canada for the Much Music Awards. It's like their version of the MTV Movie Awards I presented. And Miguel, my cameraman boyfriend, I don't know if you call him a boyfriend, but my cameraman guy Came with me. And when we landed at LAX coming home, there was paparazzi, and paparazzi got us at the airport. So then it was all over the tabloids. It was this whole thing. And of course, MTV is freaking out about it. Adam Devello fired him one week from us wrapping the show, and I went to bat for him. I was so pissed. I was like, this is. It's not fair. This is not fair. The whole nines, right? Again, I said how professional I had been. It didn't affect my job. No one knew, which was all true. Nobody. Nobody knew. And they fired him anyways. So now the last week of shooting, Miguel is not filming, so he came with me to the Roosevelt party. So I'm filming. So sad about Brody on camera. And Miguel is, like, off to the side just watching. And by the way, these are all of his co workers. The show he just got fired from, he is sitting over here because he came with me. Like, it's just so. It's so funny to me. So I. In this scene with Brody, they have Brody and I go off and talk. I cry. I cry in this scene. I shed tears a few times in this episode. And actually, I think the episode. I would imagine it was the episode before this. I think Brody and I met at a restaurant in Santa Monica on the water. And I don't remember what we said, but I remember they asked me in that scene if I could cry. And I was like, oh, my God. I don't know. Like, I'd never been asked to cry on camera before like that. And I was like, I don't know. I'll. I'll try. And I did, and I cried. And I remember being so proud of myself. Okay, so that now we're in this episode and I'm crying at the Roosevelt. And here's what I'll tell you. I think why it was so easy for me to cry was, again, what I just said of the situations may not be real, but the emotions are real. We are wrapping this show. This is, like, one of the last things we're filming. And this is the last time I think all of us were together. And I'm so sad about that. At the end of every show I've ever done, I get really sad because you become a family with the cast and the crew. Like, the crew were my buddies. I mean, clearly I was dating one. But you're a family. And we've been working together for a couple of years now. And I knew a lot of these people from Laguna also. And so I was sad. I was sad. It was the end of an era. And that's why I was crying. It's not because I'm saying goodbye to Brody and I'm moving to Europe. It's because, like, holy shit, I am emotional right now because the show's over. And so it was really easy for me to pull on those emotions to cry on camera. But, hey, listen, it made for great tv, you know? So then they have Stacy and I. She's at my house and she's walking me out. I'm going to go to the airport and I have my suitcases, my empty suitcases packed and ready to go. And it was cool to see my house from this. This house that I had during this time period. I loved this really cute little house. It was on La Jolla in West Hollywood, and it was the best house. And I got it fully furnished. And the guy who I got it from was this gay guy, and he just. It was decorated so perfectly. Had a very Spanish feel to it, which actually isn't really me. But at the time, I loved it, and it was just such a great house. So I loved seeing just a glimpse of the house on the show. So we walk out and Brody is here to say goodbye to me. What a gent. And so we are actually not outside of my house. We were on some random, random street in Hollywood, which I don't know. Oh, I do know why they must not have been able to get a permit outside of my house, because those were separate permits. And I think West Hollywood had some pretty serious, pretty strict rules about filming outside. And I think Hollywood was easier to get a permit, so. So we could film in my house, but we couldn't film out of it. So when we did all the outside stuff, they had us in Hollywood, and actually. So really we filmed this goodbye scene in three. Three different parts, three different stages, because we did my actual house walking out, and then we did a street in Hollywood, which is where Brody and I say goodbye. It's where I get into the car, a real black car, where I actually drive away. And they film me. There's a camera in the car with me, and they film me driving through LA as though I'm going to the airport. And then we shot at the Paramount lot. So this scene alone was three different locations, three different days, you know, same outfit, the whole nines. No different than a scripted show. So Brody and I are saying goodbye and I shed more tears. Again, I'm pretty proud of myself for all of the tears that I shed. Although, again, it was emotional and the Paramount lot was the very last thing that we shot. I brought cupcakes to the set that day and that was. Yeah, that was emotional. So it was so fun and God, I wish I remember when they told me that we were gonna do that, but I know I was so excited about this ending. To me, this ending was genius. I don't know how else you would have ended this. I mean, and I listen for as much as I hated Adam De Velo at the time, he was very creative. He is a creative genius and he's very good at what he does. And this ending to me is one of the cooler endings to any show. All right, guys, it's that time. Let's take a minute to talk about Foria. It was just Brody and I at the Paramount lot and they recreated the street that we were on with the Hollywood sign in the background. And they got a black car and we did the goodbye again, the, the hug. I got into the car and I drove away and then they pulled back this, the. What do you call that? Like the fake background? I don't know. I don't even know you call that. Why am I blank? There's a name for it but. And then you, it. You. There's the big reveal that it was on the Paramount lot and man, I know people were people. It was a mixed, mixed feelings on that ending and I, I get that. I. For those die hard fans who really also thought everything was real, I can get why that kind of rocked your world. I think for me, not only did I think it was so creative, but I also think it was nice for me as someone who really felt like I was acting in a lot of ways or doing improv, I think it was a good combination of the two. It was like a trio of different things. It was improv, it was acting and there were real elements to it. It's like this blend of a show. And I think for me it was nice to be like thank you. Because this sort of tips our hat at the fact that not everything was real, you know, And I liked it just as part of being from the cast. I thought it was nice. And then they end the show with a montage and of clips from the Hills and Laguna Beach. They even showed a clip from Laguna beach of Steven and I. And it was emotional in the best way. But it's really cool that I have these moments of my life on camera that I can go back and reference. And even though like I've said 500 times, today, it wasn't always real, but, like, it still takes me back to that time in my life, and I'm instantly teleported to how I felt being 23 years old, living in LA at the time, you know, with these people doing the things I was doing. It's cool that I have that to go back to. And I don't know, I just thought. I just loved it. I loved the way the show ended. I am so thankful for this experience and the opportunity. I mean, the Hills, really, for me, it opened up so many doors because I knew before I joined the Hills, I was pretty serious about being acting, and I didn't really want to be in the tabloids, and I was, like, just trying to live a quiet, not a quieter life, but I wanted to be taken seriously as an actress. And so I was trying to, like, lessen the noise from the tabloids. And I knew joining the Hills was a complete 180. And if I joined the Hills, I would have to just lean into it. And me joining the Hills, I decided, cool, I will do that. I'll go into the branding world. I will start, like, I'm going to lean into it. I'm going to do all the things that come with it. And I ended up getting a shoe line with Chinese laundry, which, you know, it's. For me, it's all building blocks, which has ultimately led me to launching Uncommon James. And so I just. I'm. I'm thankful for it all. Like, it. I've needed every vignette, right? Like, how I look back at my life is, like, these different eras, and they've all built on each other to get me where I am today. And it was fun, and I learned a lot from it. I grew up a lot from it. I. I'm just really thankful for it. It's crazy. It's so hard for me to wrap my head around that. Like, that. That's been my life. Like Laguna beach in the Hills. Why am I getting emotional? I'm like a big SAP as I get older. I'm ovulating. It's because I'm ovulating. Okay. Oh, my God. Like, what? But it's very cool. It's very cool. I know that when I die, I'm gonna look back at my life and be like, I did it. Like, I really had fun, and I really. I. I went out there and I lived it up, and I've been given opportunities my whole life, and I've run with them, I've taken them, and I have fucking run with them. And I'm proud of that. And I love now being able to see where I am today and look back at this era and see how far I've come, really. And I'm proud of that. But I wouldn't be here today without it. And so the hills, what do you know? Thank you guys for listening to these episodes. And yeah, we can. We can end this. End this chapter and move on for good now and never have to go back and watch these ever again. Maybe at some point I should go back and just watch those in between episodes. I actually don't think it's that many. I think it's, what, 10 more episodes? They're quick. They're like, oh, that was the other thing that was so great. These episodes are like 22 minutes, which for me is ideal. It's hard for me to get into a show only because the only time I have to watch a show is potentially every other weekend. Because during the week I go to bed at nine. I actually go to bed before two of my three kids. And so. And I'm not gonna. I don't know, like, if my kids are home, I'm not just gonna sit on the couch and watch a show. To me, it feels like wasted time. I'd rather be like. Well, I don't. I was gonna say I'd rather be hanging out with them, which is true. And I feel like a lot of the times there's stuff for me to do around the house or we're running around with sports or whatnot. So it's. I don't have like a night where I can just do that. And so really I don't have my kids every other weekend. But then a lot of times I'm traveling those weekends or what, Whatever, blah, blah, blah. Anyways, my point with that being is it's such a short window that I can watch a TV show, so I usually only watch like one or two a year and it takes me a long time to watch them. Or if I'm traveling, I can watch them on a plane. But a lot of times on a plane, I'm doing podcast prep or I'm on emails and doing stuff for Uncommon James. And so I don't have like a lot of time that I can just sit on my ass. Anyways, this is a long winded conversation to just tell you guys that one of These episodes being 22 minutes, I was like, great, this is perfect. So I could just watch them and knock them out. But my point with that being is maybe this summer, you know, while I have a little more time. I could watch them because I watched every Laguna beach episode a couple years ago for the Back to the beach podcast. I watched. Oh, no. I guess I didn't finish season five, so I could go back and watch those, too. But I was watching them for this, and it was. It was interesting for me. I was having fun watching these episodes because I didn't remember half of it. The Hills is so different to me, too. Just how it stands out in my head. Like, the Hills for me, was definitely acting like it was fake, and I had sort of separated my emotions from it. Where Laguna beach, it felt a little more. It was harder for me because I had more of my emotions wrapped up in it because it was, you know, my real boyfriend, real friendships. I was still getting used to the dynamic where the Hills. I knew going into it what they wanted me to do, this sort of character they wanted me to play. And so I just leaned into it. I was all for it, and I had a lot of fun with it, and I was. It was fun to play it up, and I really just looked at it as a job, so it was really fun. And I think that's maybe why I don't remember it as well, because it didn't have the same impact on me because I was able to let it go emotionally. So watching it, I was like, oh, my God, it's so funny. I don't remember what happened. I would kind of love to know how Adriana and I ultimately patched things up on camera. I would love to know what happened with Justin, Bobby, and I. I kind of want to see what happened with Brody and Jade. Like, I literally don't remember any of this, which is just so funny. I don't know. I also think my memory is kind of shot. I did learn that with Dr. Amen. He scanned my brain and my memory. I don't have a great memory. So anyways, that will be my. My default back on that. But. So. Okay, so that's that. I appreciate you guys listening to these. I love you guys. I'll see you next. Yeah, I got all the power. Let's Be Honest with Kristin Cavallari
Episode: The Hills Finale: What You Didn’t See
Date: July 21, 2026
Host: Kristin Cavallari
Kristin Cavallari wraps up her mini "Hills" rewatch series with an in-depth, behind-the-scenes commentary on the series finale of MTV’s The Hills (Season 6, Episode 12, aired July 12, 2010). Kristin brings her trademark unfiltered honesty to discuss what was real versus produced, her personal life at the time, thoughts on the show’s iconic ending, and how reality TV shaped her career and life trajectory.
“What a relief. I was getting a little nervous just thinking about this upcoming football season and then they both told me they were not gonna play anymore. So I’m really happy about that.” [02:45]
“When you’re constantly painting me in this really bad light...that doesn’t work as your main character. You need more people to be rooting for your main character.”
“Why is it that the main character, at least back then, had to be a bit of a victim or like, me getting my heart broken from Brody makes me more, what, relatable? More likable? Like, why does that have to be the case?”
“At the time, we were talking about doing a spin off in London...I can’t imagine. Had I gone on to do another show and kept going, I would have lost my mind.”
“On the show, I’m like, ‘Oh poor me, I’m devastated, and I’m, like, dating the cameraman.’ So funny to me.”
“We did hook up. One night. That was it...But when I joined The Hills, I don’t think—I just don’t ever remember it being a thing. I was dating someone else.”
“If one person could just be like, ‘I love you, don’t go,’ you’d be like, ‘I know, I love you too.’”
“That scene of me with the girls is how I am with women. I’ve always been like that...They never wanted to show that. So when I do see this little glimpse, I’m like, yes, that’s real. That’s real real.”
“At the end of every show I’ve ever done, I get really sad because you become a family with cast and crew...I was sad. It was the end of an era. And that’s why I was crying.”
“For those diehard fans who thought everything was real, I can get why that kinda rocked your world...But as cast, I thought it was nice. This sort of tips our hat that not everything was real.”
“I’m thankful for it all. I’ve needed every vignette...these different eras, and they’ve all built on each other to get me where I am today.”
“We can end this chapter and move on for good now and never have to go back and watch these ever again...But I wouldn’t be here today without it.”
This summary captures Kristin’s candid reflections, key behind-the-scenes reveals from The Hills finale, personal growth since then, and her enduring gratitude for the wild ride of reality fame.
