The following podcast is a Dr. Media production. This is, let's Be Honest with Kristen Cavallari, a podcast all about getting real and open on everything from sex, relationships, reality tv, wellness, family, and so much more. And just a fair warning, there will probably be some oversharing. Welcome in. How is everybody on this fine Tuesday? I hope everyone is doing well. I am currently looking at workers digging my pool, so I'm so excited about that. We are getting that thing going. If you can hear a little bit of construction. Sorry about that. But yeah, I'm really happy. My pool people are on it. They're saying four months. So, yeah, just in time for summer to be over, I will have a pool, which is going to be great. Okay, so I did an episode about things that I was loving, the 10 things that I had been loving, and it did really well. And you guys gave me really good feedback from that. So I'm gonna do it again. We're gonna do another things that I'm Loving podcast. I actually have 10 more things. Very random list, just like the first one. No rhyme or reason, just things that I'm currently really into. And so let's kick this thing off. I have. I have a few products with me. If you're watching, you can see some of these things. But. So, okay, we are gonna start. The first thing that I've been loving is something for your face. And it is essentially a home micro needling contraption type thing. Oh, it doesn't say the brand on here. It's Environ in Viron. Hold on, let me look it up. I think it's E N V I R I O N in Viron. Say yes, I'm right. Okay, so Environ is a skill skin, a skin company. They make skincare products, but they make these little. I don't know what it's called, guys, but just go to their website and look it up. This is like a little at home, like home micro needling thing. And so what you do, you can see it's this gold roller and you do it on your face and you go every which way, you know, you go up and down, you go to the side, you know. And I got it at Joanna checks. Website is actually where I got it so you could get it there too. But I see her for facials in New York and she actually told me to use it every single night. Every night. She said do toner and then do it, you know, roll your whole face. And guys, it doesn't look like it's sharp, but it is it's sharp. I mean, if you. I've kind of hurt myself a couple times actually, so. But you, you know, I figure you want to be doing it hard enough where it's doing something, but you don't have to do it too hard for it to actually do something because it is sharp. But then, okay, so you want to do your toner, then roll your face and then do all of your products. And the whole point of microneedling is essentially your products. I feel like go in deeper. If you puncture the skin barrier a little bit like that, it has to then repair itself. I do microneedling. I've told you guys, every six weeks with a professional. But this is a good. Just in between at home. And I tell you, Joanna, check. She knows what she's talking about. You know, she does everybody under the sun and she herself looks great. And she has told me the things. She has told me use that every single day. Not to do the, the filler Botox route and do facelift. She did tell me last time I saw her, she said if you wanted to do Botox like once a year, she was like, that's fine, that's not going to hurt you. But again, I don't know. She's the one who said she doesn't agree with every. Is it every three to four months, typically you have to get Botox. She was like, I don't agree with that. That seems to be sort of just like a way for them to make more money. I mean, listen, I don't have, I don't know. I've told you guys. I did Dysport one time under my eyes. That did fade, I think pretty quickly actually, which I was really happy about because I hated it so much. So I don't know, I can't really speak to this stuff. I'm just telling you what she told me. Anyways, this is not a Botox conversation. The whole point of this was this little at home microneedling device that I love and I use almost every night. Not every night. Okay. The second thing is Chroma. So maybe you guys have kind of heard me talk about it a little bit. If you follow me on Instagram, you definitely have. So Chroma is an at Home 5 Day Detox Program essentially. And I've been doing them for years. I try to do it a couple times a year. And what it is, is it's a kit and they send it to your door and it is a five day food guide essentially. And so what it is, is in the morning you have this oatmeal porridge type thing and you can add your own berries to it. And then there's a smoothie. And then. Oh, actually, sorry, the very first thing is this matcha latte, which tastes like heaven in the morning. So you do have, like a tiny bit of caffeine. So if getting off coffee scares you because of a headache or whatever, the caffeine from the matcha should minimize that, which is great. And then lunch is a bone broth soup, which I add protein and veggies to. I don't think you're supposed to for the lunch, but I do. And I think if you were doing it for weight loss, you definitely would not. But I usually just do it to feel my best and just to detox rather than lose weight necessarily. If I lose a pound or two, great, Cool. But. And then there in the afternoon, there's this stuff called cookie butter, which is basically almond butter and cashew butter with goji berries, and it's just fucking amazing. And then there's an afternoon latte, there's a greens that you drink. And then dinner is another bone broth with protein and veggies. And you are supposed to add protein and veggies to that one. What's great about it is you can kind of customize it to however you want. So if you are doing it to lose weight, if you are doing it just to feel your best, they have different programs that you can follow. Maybe if you're trying to lose weight, you wouldn't add protein and veggies to the bone broth at night. I don't know. You'll read it if you get it. But the reason why I love Chroma is because it's the only detox that I've seen or done that has good quality ingredients, and it's the only one that you can actually eat on. So you're not hangry, you're not pissed off. You don't necessarily feel like shit the whole time. I think it was the last time I did it. And again, I mean, I've done it probably ten times. But if. I think the last time I did it, I did have a headache. I think it was the second day. I kind of felt like shit the second day, which is the only time that's actually ever happened to me. But then you push through and then by the end of it, you feel. You really feel amazing. And because it is a detox and they talk about all of this stuff, but what I try to do, since it is a Detox is I try to get a massage while I'm doing it. If you can find a sauna and get in a sauna, do dry brushing, that is great, guys. If you can get a colonic, do a colonic. I'll do an at home enema myself. I'll usually do that twice, two days in a row. And what else? Walking, a light workout, you know, just being active, helping out the lymphatic system. All of that's great. But guys, I love Chroma so much. I actually invested in Chroma because I'm such a believer in what they're doing and this product. And I love it so much. And so like I said, I usually do it before a big photo shoot. I'm actually gonna do it. I think I'm gonna do it next week. I did it actually before my tour and I'm gonna do it again. And that's kind of soon for me. But I do have another big photo shoot and then I'm going to Stagecoach. And in between, I've been kind of eating whatever I want. I just feel like I could, I could use it. I don't know. I'm excited to do another little detox and hopefully then that'll just kind of like kick off the. The summer bod. Spring summer bod. So check out Chroma. It's expensive, but I think you're paying for the quality of ingredients. And again, if you're doing a detox, you want the best quality ingredients. I think Prolon a few years ago, and I remember looking at the ingredients and being like, there's a lot of crap in here. Like, that just doesn't make sense to me. That totally defeats the purpose of doing a detox. You don't want to be putting chemicals in your body. The whole point is to detox these things out. So anyway, and you know, because I've done it so many times, Chroma now, you know, it's just kind of a nice guide. Like, essentially I could probably do it on my own, but I like having everything laid out for me every day. There's all these little satchels of food that you mix with coconut milk or water or whatever it is. And I just like having my game plan together and having a kit essentially in front of me, having everything laid out. And I will say they tell you for the lattes and the smoothie, you can either do water, you can do coconut milk. I get the simple canned coconut milk. The simple does not have the guar gum in it, but it's so luxurious and thick and amazing. And when you're doing this detox and you get the afternoon latte for me, I mix with half water and half the coconut milk, and it's the most amazing thing on the planet. It's actual heaven when you're doing a detox. So take my word for it. Get the simple canned coconut milk. And it's amazing. I think, again, if you're trying to lose weight, I think they encourage you to just do water and not do the coconut milk. But even if you just do, like, a little bit of coconut milk makes all the difference, and it's so good. Okay, my third thing, and we just talked about this last week with my trainer, Kevin Klug, but my third thing is creatine. And I have the creatine that I take. It's from Symbiotica, which I do ads for them on the podcast. You guys have probably heard me talk about them. But in here is. Let me see. I think it is five milligrams. Oh, no, it's four. Hold on. Okay, it's four. There's four grams of glutamine. Creatine, I don't know. It says four grams of creatine and then glutamine. I don't know what that l. Glutamine, I don't know what that is. It's 500 milligrams. But Symbiotica, I say it on my ads, but they have one of the cleanest, best, you know, quality supplement brands. And I just. I love everything that this brand stands for. So this is the creatine that I do. I do it. You're really supposed to do it every day. I really just do it when I. The days I work out, I should. I could probably up. Up it a little bit, but creatine, I feel like everyone can do creatine. It's helped with my muscle, building muscle. I also think it's helping keep me lean. It's great for brain health. It's just good for so many things. And if you didn't listen to last week's episode with my trainer, listen to it, because it's all about building muscle, staying lean, and we do touch on supplements and stuff that you can be doing. Diet is obviously a really important factor when it comes to all of this stuff, but creatine, I swear, working out with Kevin and upping my weight and taking creatine, focusing on protein has really changed my body. Honestly, it's changed my body. So I would encourage everyone to check out creatine and if you are gonna do creatine though, make sure you're getting a clean clean a clean one because there's a lot of crap on the market. So Symbiotica is a great option. But there are of course other clean options out there. Let's take a second to talk about Wayfair. Okay, my fourth thing and you guys might be disgusted. I guarantee half of you are gonna be like, that's the most disgusting thing I've ever heard. And half of you are gonna be like, fuck, yeah. Okay. It's a stool test. So I talked about this with my doctor, Dr. Ryan Monahan. He came on the podcast a while ago, but we talked about this. So I've seen numerous doctors in my day, you know, and Dr. Monahan is the only doctor who has ever made me do a stool test to see what is going on in my gut. And you guys, without that, I'm sorry, nothing else really matters. And I'll tell you why. Because my personal experience with it is I had been taking vitamins and was healthy and I was doing all of the things for years. Years. And again, let me reiterate, I had seen other doctors, I had tested my food sensitivity, I had tested my hormones. I had done these things right. But without having a full picture of your gut, it doesn't matter because I, when I tested my gut, I had sibo, which stands for small intestinal bacteria overgrowth. So I was taking all these vitamins, spending a lot of money on everything. You know, it's time and energy to take all these vitamins every day and everything. And it's expensive. And I wasn't absorbing any of them. None. And guys, for who knows how many years. This, I guarantee this was going on for years, though. And so all of my vitamin levels were low. Everything was off because my gut was off. I. What I had to do then, I worked for. Well, I'm still working on my whole body, but my gut now is in a much better place. It took me like a year to like really get my gut under control. Well, it took me like six months to like get it in a good place, but then to like fully get it under control, about a year. And now my vitamin levels are up, like everything else is up. But I just think if you can only do one test, do the stool test. I just did it on my. Well, I didn't do it. My kids did it, my boys did it, and we're waiting on their results. I cannot wait to see what's going on with my kids. But the one that we do is Genova Diagnostics. It's the three day stool collection kit. I don't know how to get it without a doctor. Maybe talk to your personal doctor. If not, maybe you could go on their website and they could refer you to, to doctors that have these kits. I don't know. Genova Diagnostics. I'm giving you what I can give you and it's disgusting. I'm not gonna lie to you guys. Doing the actual test is vile. It's vile, it's not fun. But if, if my 10 and 12 year old boys can do it, you guys can do it. I've done it numerous times. You just do it because it's worth it. Because having that picture of your gut is important to overall health. Again, I just know from personal experience, if your gut's out of balance, basically everything else is. So that is the most important thing, I think for overall health, the stool test is the most important thing. Okay. And then it's really funny to go from a stool test to this, but there is a non alcoholic sparkling rose that I am absolutely obsessed with. Really, it's. I think it's tea is what they have, is what it is. It's like a sparkling tea, essentially, but it's called toast. I think I'm saying this right. T O S T. And so I've told you guys I'm not sober by any means, but I don't drink that often. So what I like to do sometimes is just have like a mocktail or like a whatever, a sparkling. And I first discovered this, two of my girlfriends and I went to dinner and this particular group of girls and I don't drink a whole lot. Well, actually one of them is currently pregnant, so, you know, we really don't. But even before she was pregnant, we just, the three of us will go to dinner and we don't drink alcohol for whatever reason, I don't know. And we went to dinner and they had this on the menu at this restaurant that we were at and we tried it and we were obsessed because it's not sweet and it honestly tastes like you were drinking alcohol, but obviously without the alcohol. And it's so good, it's refreshing. So anyways, I ordered bottles to my house, I have them in my wine cellar and I have had people over for dinner and I have opened up a bottle of this and we have drank this. And you do not feel like you're missing out on anything. And you can sleep very well and you can wake up feeling great still, which is my biggest issue with alcohol. So if you're on the sober train or just dabbling in the sober train like me, check this one out. Because it's a great option to have instead of having the real thing. Because that's what I have found is like, for me, it's gotta be worth it for me to drink alcohol because I feel like shit the next day no matter what. And if it's just a dinner. Like, that's not worth it to me, having one glass of wine, because I always feel like shit even after one glass of wine. So I like really making the alcohol nights worth it and special and making them a whole thing. So I like sipping on this in between that. So check that guy out. Okay. And then number six. My daughter Sailor, has her jewelry collection out with Uncommon James, which I'm excited about. She's excited about it. We started working well. Sailor and I designed this together. Last New Year's we actually were in Miami at the beach, and so we designed this together. Well, really, she did it. I just kind of helped guide her. And it's a beach theme, so it's lots of seashells. She has cute little flamingos. There's colorful beads. It's a very sweet, fun collection for little girls. And there are Huggies. There are necklaces. There's a cute bracelet. It's really fun. There's studs, too. And so she is so excited about this. She's been telling everybody. I think the whole school knows about it. When it came out, she actually had all of her little girlfriends over, and she gifted everyone the collection. And it's just been really fun for me to see how excited she is about this and to be able to do this together. You know, she has all the plans to take over Uncommon James one day, and I honestly do feel like she probably will because she is very into it for being nine years old. So this is just a proud mom moment. And, you know, I don't. I feel like I don't talk about Uncommon James all that much. Like, obviously, of course, it naturally comes up in conversation on the PODC sometimes, but this is me just doing a little shameless, proud mom moment plug. So check out Sailor's collection if you guys have not done so, because it's very cute and good timing, obviously, with spring and summer, it's. It's really cute, actually. So here's an interesting thing. I didn't know this. When you have a children's jewelry collection, when it is marketed towards children, you have to have a magnet on the necklace and actually the bracelet as well to. Because obviously choking hazard with the necklace specifically. So it is magnets. And actually it's kind of convenient and kind of fun, and it's really easy for then the girls to put on themselves. But that was just kind of an interesting thing that I learned, you know, because to be honest with you, I've never seen that. I guess I have also never seen a jewelry collection that's specifically marketed towards children. I feel like it's always just normal jewelry lines that then kids wear, but when it is targeted towards kids, there are different legalities around it. Is that the right way to say it? Different legalities around it? You guys know what I'm saying? According to a recent ZipRecruiter survey, 76% of employers plan to expand headcount for 2025. Well, that's a lot of time spent hiring. And this is really random, but I'm kind of in this mode right now of not complicating spirituality. This actually happened from a group session that I had with a channeler. And if you guys don't know what a channeler is, it is. And this is very out there. Okay, I realize I'm gonna lose some of you right now. It is someone who can channel spirit guides like they channel their spirit guides and they are able to say what their spirit guides are wanting to say to the collective, to the individual, whatever it is. This is the first time I've ever experienced anything quite like this. It is wild. Wild. And until you actually experience it, I could see how a lot of people are like, that's. But seeing it firsthand and like, truly seeing what happened to this channeler, this woman, her name was Angie. This woman's body and her eyes and like, just the messages that came through. Like, very specific things about my dad, very specific things about past relationships, my kids. Like, there's no way you could argue that this woman Was not channeling something. Right. But anyways, one of the bigger, I think, messages that came through for me during this session was that we, as a collective, over complicate spirituality, which actually goes against the whole basis of it. Right. And so basically, like, what this spirit guide was wanting to communicate to me was spirituality can be as simple as sitting in the grass and just being present, just being in that moment, just getting outside more, just, you know, going for a walk, but being in the moment. The whole point of it is of spirituality is to be present. Think at the end of the day, like, there's like two main messages from spirituality. It's being present, and it's all about love, having more love. Those are the two biggest messages that I've gathered from all of the spiritual work that I've done. And so it's true. I do think we try to overcomplicate it. And can you meditate for 10 hours? It's like, I don't know. That seems really fucking hard. But does that mean I'm not spiritual if I can't? Like, it doesn't have to be that. It can be really simple. So it's laying in the grass, going for a walk, sitting outside with your coffee in the morning, and just listening to the birds. That can be a spiritual practice. And that's way more digestible, I think, for a lot of people, and way more manageable, even. And I go through phases with meditating. Even finding 10 minutes in the morning to meditate is really hard. Sometimes it just is. It's hard to find 10 minutes. And yeah, it is only 10 minutes. But when you have a busy life, when you're working, when you've got kids, when you've got all these things going on, it is hard to find 10 minutes. I'm sorry, it is. But, you know, it seems a lot easier taking your kid and sitting in the grass with them and just being in the moment. Taking the dogs for a walk and just being in the moment, listening to the birds, noticing the trees, looking up at the clouds. That can be a spiritual practice. Because what's the point of spirituality? To be present. Well, then that's. It can be that simple. And that excites me because I like to think I'm a really spiritual person. Well, I am a really spiritual person. But sometimes it does feel overwhelming and like I can't do all the things. And if I didn't meditate that day, well, my spirituality, my spiritual practice is out the window. But it doesn't have to be that which I love. So that was a really cool message. And right now, if you're in Tennessee or if you're in Chicago, because I know Chicago has them too, I guess probably all around the Midwest, and I know I'm in the south, but the dogwood trees are so beautiful. If you guys don't know what they are, look them up. They're stunning. And they're in bloom right now. It's noticing the dogwoods as you drive by. You know, it's like, it can be that simple. I guess it's really about, like, noticing nature. And spirituality is also about that. Getting in nature is really important, but being in the grass is really grounding. Camden and I literally sat in the grass for 10 minutes the other day, and it was really special, as simple as that was. Actually, you know, it's funny, it was right after my session with this channeler. We just sort of naturally did it. And I was like, oh, my God, I love this. We're doing the thing. We're doing it. And he was all about it, and I loved that. Okay, number eight is. I think sometimes it's really good to shake things up, to shift things around in your life, to create new energy. And I think I'm someone who I. That works for my life. I realize maybe this doesn't work for everybody's life, but I am someone who all of a sudden, I will be like, we gotta shake things up. We gotta, like, shift everything around. Like, we need new energy. Like, just shifting everything. And what I'm speaking to is specifically is I just recently let my COO go at Uncommon James. And he had been working for me for almost five years. And while it is scary, new beginnings are really scary sometimes. But sometimes they are the best thing that you need, personally, as a company, as a family, as whatever it is, it is the best thing. And I've actually never been someone who is afraid of starting over, a new beginning. And again, it probably goes back to just me always moving around and always being the new girl. You know, it was like I was always used to that sink or swim, figure it out. And so I just know that I don't like when energy feels stagnant, when people feel complacent. And having that energy shift is sometimes the best thing on the planet. I know for me, personally, I am feeling re. Energized, really excited, just, like, so amped up right now about Uncommon James and I. I'm going back in the office more. And listen, these things don't necessarily, like. I think probably some people at home are like, well, you could have done all of that without letting your COO go. Yeah, absolutely. But that also needed to happen. And at the same time, it like, reinvigorated me. And maybe that was just what I needed to kind of like jumpstart my excitement. Now again, not like I ever lost my excitement for Uncommon James, but, like, I definitely wasn't as involved as I once was. And I've learned that I do need to be involved. And I love being involved. Like, I'm loving going to the office again. It's also just nice to have a reason to get dressed in the morning. But, like, I like being in the mix. I like really being involved and hearing what everyone else is doing. I sat in a merch and marketing meeting the other day, and they were talking about the holiday boxes for our Advent calendar. And I was like, man, wow. I was like, there's so much happening that, like, I didn't even realize, you know? And like, so it's really good for me to be there and hear everything that's going on and just. My team is phenomenal. My team is phenomenal. I can't say it enough. And unfortunately, really what happened with my COO is when he came in five years ago, he was incredible. And he's more operations and he's. He was so great at turning our fulfillment center around and our vendor relationships. And like, he really. That was his world, was the back end stuff, you know, back of the house. And we outgrew him. And now we need someone who's more like front of the house. Like, getting us out there, like, really just focused on. On sales, you know, just revenue focused. Let's just grow this bitch. Which is kind of where I'm focused too. So anyways, that's all that to say. I do think sometimes having a new beginning, you know, doing something scary is. Is the best thing. It just. It is. I don't think we should be afraid of that because really good things can come from it. Okay. And then on the conversation of Uncommon James and again, just with Sailors collection and everything and shaking things up again. I am also going to do another shameless plug, because I can. Because I hardly ever. But it is something I'm obsessed with right now and I have it right here. So we just came out with a new candle scent. Our candles are awesome, you guys. By the way, if you don't know our candles, you need to know them because they are soy wax. They are all natural, no crap in them. You can feel safe lighting these candles. But we just came out with rustic mandarin. Okay, so it is Mandarin, rosemary, cedar, and sage. Sounds random as fuck, but it is heaven. My favorite candle that we've had. Well, there's. It's hard. It's hard to pick one. I love our campfire cowboy candle, but I also love our rose candle. But this one, you guys, I don't know. This guy is really coming for the top spot. Or maybe this is just really great for, like, spring and summer. But everything that we do, I like to have balance. I don't like anything too sweet. I don't like anything or, like, if something is more masculine, I like having a. A very feminine element in there as well. And I just feel like we really nail our candles. And our candle vendor is incredible. And, you know, if I have an idea, she executes it phenomenally. This is even better than I had hoped. But definitely check out the rustic mandarin, because it's. It's divine. I want to eat it. It smells so good. Okay, and then the last thing. Number 10, I need my phone to show you guys this. Okay, so number 10, all the credit to my genius baby. Not a baby. Camden, my oldest. I don't know how the hell he figured this out, but this kid's amazing. So you guys know last time I said I'm all about red light at night. Well, red light in general is great for so many things, but at night, especially when we are winding down, we want our bodies to produce our natural melatonin, so it's really easy to fall asleep. So at night, I like to turn on a little red light by my bed stand. I tried to dim all the lights in the house. Anyways, Camden told me the other day he figured out how to put a red feature on his whole phone at night. So what you do, I'm going to show you. Okay, look. So I hope you can see that on the camera, my whole screen right now is red. So I was like, oh, my God, this is amazing to do at night. So what you do. Okay, I had him write it down so that everyone can do it. Okay. These are Camden's instructions, so hopefully they make sense. Okay, on your phone, you're going to want to go to Accessibility, then scroll down to display and text size, then turn on color tint, then adjust the color, then swipe out and scroll all the way down to accessibility shortcuts and choose color filters. I really hope that makes sense, you guys. But then what you do is. Okay, so after you. You do that, how to get your screen to red is you take the button on the Right side of your phone, and you click it three times. One, two, three. And then it lights up red. And then to get it off, you just go, 1, 2, 3, again. And it is gone. And you guys, again, just. Red light is so great for you and the phone. Our phones are the worst thing for us at night because this is messing up our own circadian rhythm because of the blue light from the phone. So I think you should be off your phone at night. But if you can't be putting this red filter on, I think will probably help a lot with your. Your body's production of its own melatonin. Try it out. I told you guys about the little red light that I have next to my nightstand on the last episode of Things that I Was Loving. Episode is that show podcast, whatever, the last podcast. And it seemed like you guys loved that. And I told you guys on that one that I had given everyone for Christmas these little red lights. And I have my friends who have literally said they're sleeping better because of it. I'm a big believer in this stuff. So try the thing on your phone. And I, again, I hope, just know it's an accessibility display and text color tint. And then, you know, the color filter, you do red and you can adjust how deep of a red it is or how bright. And that's obviously up to you. So we can thank Camden Cutler for that. Thank you, my sweet baby. Also, side note, I went into his room last night to say goodnight to him, and he has those. What are those lights that the kids are all obsessed with? They put them on, you know, their walls, like, every, like, corner of the wall. Why am I blanking on the light? Well, you guys know what I'm talking about. Anyways, he turned all of his lights to red. So I walked in and his whole room was red. I was like, oh, my God, yes, I'm. I'm rubbing off on my kids. You know, sometimes you don't know if the things you tell them, it's like landing on deaf ears. But I think our kids listen more than we think, which is good to know. So, anyways, there you go. Another list of 10 things I'm currently obsessed with again. Always random. And you guys can tell it's all about balance in my life because there's everything under the sun on here. So I hope you guys love this list. I hope this stuff helps you guys, and I'll see you next week, and I'm sure in another few months we'll do another one of these. So. Okay, as always, thank you for listening. Love you guys.
