And we've kind of mixed it up over the years. Like, originally it was like in pie form, then it was in cup form, single serving. And now I actually make it in martini glasses, single serving. And it's really fun. Everyone loves it. It's a very, like, fashion forward spin on a pie. And it's just aesthetically pleasing and a really cute thing that you can do for the holidays. And it's pretty easy to make. Like you take a bag of Oreos, you take the cookie part of the Oreo, so you discard the center and then you grind that up with a little bit of melted butter and that's your base, right? Then you take, I think we take like literally Jello vanilla pudding, warm that up, do that whole thing, let that cool down. Cool whip sliced bananas, sprinkle a little bit more of that, like dried crusted Oreo and then keep layering. So it's Oreo cookie vanilla pudding, Cool whip bananas, sprinkle of Oreo sprinkle, start over with a new layer. And you just kind of keep layering that and it becomes this like delicious banana. Oreo cookie cream pie is what we call it. If you guys want this recipe or you need more of my help on how to do this, please let me know. I'm happy to share because it's one of my favorite things to make. It's so easy and it's a crowd pleaser. Last year everyone ate it. It was gone by the end of the day. It was things like I think it was the most popular thing besides a traditional pumpkin pie. So I was very proud of that and it's something I'll be making again this year. I also just saw something on TikTok that I loved that was like chocolate covered strawberries that looked like turkeys. So you get mini marshmallows, pretzel sticks that you cut in half so they're extra small strawberries, right? Dip the strawberries in chocolate, stick the pretzel into the marshmallow so it looks like a little drumstick, and then add it to the end of the strawberry and dip the whole thing in chocolate. It is like the funniest sight ever. So I think I might be adding that to my Thanksgiving repertoire. I'll keep you guys posted and I'll post about it if I do do it. If you guys have any fun, easy, crowd pleaser dessert recipes, please DM them to me. I love getting recommendations from you guys. I feel like you all have really great taste and I kind of get competitive with this stuff, so please send them my way. Maybe I'll throw my family for a little pivot this year and bring something new to the table. It has definitely gotten cold in Los Angeles. I know. Please believe me when I say it actually does get cold here. It's dipped below 50 which means we are like very much in holiday mode. And I think this Thanksgiving this year is actually going to be quite cold. Every year prior it's been really sunny and warm and I remember last year we all like peeled off layers on the beach because it was so warm. But I think it's going to be quite chilly this year. If you're looking for some inspiration on what to wear to Thanksgiving, I just posted a reel a few days ago on my feed on Instagram of some really great simple outfit ideas that are really recreatable within your own closets. Jeans and a great top. A leather skirt and a sweater. A pair of slacks with like a button down and a V neck sweater. Just really great classic outfits that look really sharp and look really polished for the whole family, but are really comfortable and stretchy for the occasion so you can eat and then like get on the couch with your family afterwards. And everything I showed can easily be dressed up or down. So there's something for everybody in that reel and and that's currently live on my Instagram. I'm leaning right now towards, I think because I'm gonna be with my mom cooking in the morning. I'm leaning towards pants so I'm like comfortable and can move around. So yeah, I'll be at my mom's on Thursday and then the rest of the weekend I plan to just spend time with my family, relax, try to recharge a little bit. I'm always like reading, watching, listening to things on holiday weekends. A few things that are on my list right now. I just started Fourth Wing, which I'm really excited about. I finished the Acotar series last year and blew through those. They definitely helped me get over my post Wedding Blues, which I really had. So from August to December I read all of them and I actually remember loving them so much I made myself take a break so that I could finish the last one while I was on Christmas holiday last year. And it was the perfect ending. So I flew through those and really wanted something that was fantasy inspired again. And a lot of people recommended 4th Wing and I have been loving it. A lot of action. It feels very like. It kind of feels like Harry Potter meets Acotar in a way. Like it's fantasy. But they're in a school so you get that like academic vibe that Harry Potter gave. I'm loving it so far. I'm about 100 pages in, but if you guys have any other recommendations, I always love taking those, so send them my way. I also am going to see the new Wicked tonight and I can already tell you that I'm gonna recommend it because I am in the Wicked hive, so. So add that to your list if you haven't seen it yet. And on that note, in terms of things to listen to, I just recently listened to the Cutting Room Floors episode with Paul Tazewell, who is the costume designer of Wicked. He also was the costume designer for Hamilton and so many other incredible moments. He won an Oscar for his costume design of Wicked last year. It was such a good interview, I would cue that up. The Cutting Room Floor is exclusively on Patreon, so you do have to pay to listen to it. But I think if you're going to invest and listen, I highly recommend listening to that. It was a great episode. Another thing I'm going to be spending time doing this weekend is Black Friday shopping, and in the past I feel like there have been moments where I am so overwhelmed by Black Friday, Cyber Monday, Black Friday, Cyber Monday, whatever We want to call it. I used to get really overwhelmed because I would feel like, oh, am I missing out on this sale? Should I be buying this? And so I've created a ritual and a routine and kind of a list of rules that I follow every year to make sure that Black Friday is actually working for me. I know this sounds crazy, but if you actually follow this, like, you will get things for your closet that you will truly use, you won't impulse shop, and you can also get ahead on your Christmas list, which I think is one of the best ways to use Black Friday. So for starters, one thing that I like to do with Black Friday is actually sit down and shop it versus passively shop it. Meaning, like, I will spend some time on Friday morning or on Monday morning and say, okay, this is the time that I'm going to shop. I'm going to look for the things that I want. Because the amount of times that I have bought things that I don't need because I'm scrolling Instagram and then I get served an ad and it's Black Friday. And then I go to the website and I buy the thing and I never really needed it and I didn't even use it. It's in those moments where you're just scrolling that you end up buying things you don't need. So if you can, I would set the time to do your Black Friday Cyber Monday shopping. Like, it's a routine. I know this might sound crazy, but I promise it works. Make your coffee, turn some tunes on, light a candle, whatever you need to do to make this routine feel special. I highly recommend doing it. Like, I can't wait for Friday morning to sit down and just be cozy on my couch. Maybe I'll turn on something fun in the background. I just started Grey's Anatomy and I'm on season six, I think, and I'm having the best time. So maybe that will go on in the background. I'll light some candles and, like, dive into my list. Okay. A few very niche shopping trips. For starters, I always like to shop on my computer. I know that iPhone is like, easy and it's easy to scroll when you're watching tv and we get served so many things. But I just think setting up your computer is a lot more intentional and easier to not impulse shop. I also will say, like, it's so annoying when you're on Instagram and you get served an ad, always make sure that you open it in your external browser. Because I find, because when you're in Instagram and You go to check out it doesn't have your credit card saved. So always make sure when you get served an ad that you open it in an external browser because then your credit card will populate and you won't have to start over and refresh your cart. So annoying. I don't know why they haven't figured that out yet. Anyways, I will always scroll on my computer and what I like to do is I have one tab open that is scrolling the main page of the website. And then when I find something I like, I will right click on that item and always open it in a new tab. I find that if you just add things to cart or open things up on the current tab that you're in, sometimes you could lose your place in the scroll, which is so annoying. Like, I don't know why, why some websites haven't figured that out, but you can lose your place. But also once you're done scrolling and being able to look at all those tabs and see, did I pull too many shirts? Do I have too many skirts? Does this all go together? It's a lot easier to look at it that way before you add it all to your cart and have to remove one by one. And so those are just two little things that like, really help me as I'm shopping to make it easier. Okay, three rules for Black Friday shopping. Let's get into it. One, Always make a plan. Always, always, always have an idea of what you need. And that could be a lot of different things. It doesn't need to be that deep. Like this doesn't need to be a whole thing that you prep for. I just want you to have some idea in your mind of what you need before you go shopping. I will go through my closet really briefly. We're talking 10 minutes out of your day here. I'm not trying to make this be something that feels really overwhelming and look through what you have that you might need more of. For example, Black Friday is an amazing opportunity to re up on those pieces that you kind of need to get yearly. Do you need to get new undergarments? Do you need to get new white tees? Do you need a new pair of jeans? Do you need new socks? Like those everyday essential wardrobe pieces that need to be re upped. I really think that getting them during Black Friday is like the ultimate closet hack. Get them at a deal while you can. And it's also just a great marker for you to remember, okay, I need to get these new things at this time of year. It's Kind of a perfect time in the calendar to be able to do that. So make a plan that could also be for larger things in your closet. Have you been saving up for that perfect black bag? Have you been saving up for a coat for the holidays? Like, have an idea in your mind of what you are going to shop for? I think when you're shopping on Black Friday Cyber Monday, it should really be about filling a need in your closet. And on that Note, rule number two, no impulse shopping. 0. It is a death trap. I feel like there have been so many times where I have been served something on Instagram and it's like today, only 30% off. And I'm like, oh, God, like I need to get these things. I remember like three years ago, Essence had an incredible sale, right? They always do. They usually like mark their things off, like plus 50 off. And you're getting great things from like Jacques Mousse and Adidas and like amazing brands, right? I got caught. I got hooked by an Instagram ad and before I knew it, I was on Essence with a thousand dollar plus cart with all of these things that I was like, oh my God, like this top, it's. It's 60% off. Like, I have to get it. Like, since it's this amount off, I would be crazy to not get it. Thank God I took a beat and came back to that cart because I was like, I looked at it again an hour later and I was like, wait, none of these things are things I actually need in my closet. Zero. That top. I have something similar already. Those jeans. I really don't need another pair of jeans. It's so easy to get manipulated by the numbers. Like the girl math of Black Friday Cyber Monday is really crazy. Let's be real. But I think if it's not something that you've been wanting for a while and it's not something that your closet needs, I would be really careful with buying things just because it's 60% off. If anything, I want you to use those numbers as a way to get the things that you actually need. So make a plan for what you want to get. And then my third tip. Buy. Strategically, the holiday season is literally weeks away from Black Friday. It's a perfect time to get those gifts to the people you love and that you know you're going to be buying two weeks later and you could be getting them now. One little caveat with buying gifts during Black Friday is that the return window, if your recipient wants to return it, they probably won't be able to because you're giving it to them a month plus later and we all know that they're not going to return it the next day. So I would get those things that are kind of low hanging fruit, the stocking stuffers, great lip gloss, like things that everybody loves. Plus even like say you have a bunch of holiday parties that you're going to. What a great time to get like a set of three candles that you know that you're going to bring to those holiday parties and you get them at a great discount. So also take into consideration while you're thinking of your plan of what you want to buy, also take into consideration those gifts that you know are perfect to get during Black Friday. The candle tip is actually really good. Like if you know you're going to a bunch of holiday parties and you don't want to show up empty handed because let's be real, you absolutely never should. It's really the perfect time to get those hostess gifts. I also want to shout out a company that was talked about on this podcast. The founders came on in May and that is fia. It's a price comparison tool for fashion and I would download that app before Black Friday and use it. It's great. You can put pieces in there and see if there are cheaper options available of it anywhere else on the market, including secondhand websites like the RealReal. So if you are looking for something and you see there's a good deal, you might actually be able to get it better somewhere else if you use fia. So shout out to them. They came on the podcast in May. Highly recommend listening to that episode if you have not caught it yet. They also just got a huge investment, I think between 8 and $10 million earlier this year and that round was led by Hailey Bieber. So I think we're going to be seeing a lot more of that app in the future. And then last thing, be aware of Final Sale. I feel like that has become a really big thing this year. Have you guys been noticing that too? There are so many websites that I shop on normally that are now including Final Sale on so many of their items and I haven't seen that in the past. I personally don't think it's a great strategy. If I see Final Sale, I am definitely not buying it. What if it doesn't fit? Like it's just such a risky buy. So I would just be aware of Final Sale. I am what I'm very interested in investigating what is going on in the industry that so many websites, like my Teresa for example, are turning to Final sale. It's just such a hard thing to convince me to do. I don't know about you guys, but I'm curious how you feel about that. Let's get into what I'm buying this year and I am going to be linking a lot of this on my substack in case you guys aren't subscribed. My substack subscribers get early access to all of this, so they've had my holiday gift guide for two plus weeks now. And also the chat is so fun. If you are subscribed to my substack and you are contributing to the chat, I'm so excited that you're here. It has been honestly a bright spot in 2025 for me to have that chat going. It is so fun to see so many people asking questions and responses. It's really just such a heartwarming community of fashion lovers alike. So I'm just loving that. And if you haven't subscribed, subscribed but want to all of my let's get dressed listeners get 20% off a year long membership and that link is in the description of this episode. So if you want to join that community and you want to get full access to what I'm shopping for Black Friday and then also early access to a lot of my work, you can go subscribe there. There are a few websites that I go to every year for Black Friday because as I mentioned, I will definitely go through my own closet and find the things that I need but also gifts for people in your life that are just like easy wins. So, so for my own closet I'll be definitely shopping on Guest in Residence. I'm obsessed with Guest in Residence. All of their sweaters are so good. They just came out with their new winter collection and the jackets and coats are so great. I know they'll be doing a big sale. It's the perfect time to get some like new sweaters for your closet. Jenny Kane does an incredible sale as well. My favorite V neck is from them, the Flynn cashmere sweater that I wear all the time. So they'll be doing a great sale. And then of course Aritzia. Aritzia always kills it with their sales and I feel like it's the great time if you need to get a super puff for the winter season, but also a great time to invest in some good workwear. Like the effortless pant that I've talked about so many times on here is truly the perfect black pant. So it's a great time to be Getting those pieces for your everyday wardrobe. In terms of gifts, I will definitely be shopping on Flamingo Estate because they have such great gift boxes for the holiday. They have a trio set of candles that smell delicious. Literally if you come to my house at any time, I am burning a Flamingo Estate candle. They are so, so, so good. So definitely be shopping there. And then also they have great like if you are going to someone's house for a holiday party, bringing them like that Flamingo Estate set that has like the soap and the hand wash and the lotion is such a nice gift to bring into someone's home. Also perfect if it's a housewarming specifically around the holidays. So I would be definitely going there during their Black Friday sale to be getting those items for any holiday parties that you have. And then of course Sephora, like I'm definitely gonna be getting a hundred summer Fridays lip butter bombs because those are the best things to put in all of your stockings as stocking stuffers, some eye masks, a sheet mask. Like everyone loves those and you really can't go wrong with giving those as gifts around the holidays. I think it's really important to never show up empty handed which is why I think this is the perfect time to be getting those things for all of your holiday events. A few of my favorite things that I will bring no matter where I go, I think olive oil. The Flamingo Estate one you can even customize by the way, which is such a great gift. Someone on my team last year gave me one that said hi, live on it or something. And it just made me so happy every time I cooked with it. So that is an amazing gift. As I mentioned, the candles, the soap set, all really great. And then I also really love Ghia. Ghia is a non alcoholic aperitif and bringing that to an event is always a nice thing to bring if people who are there are not drinkers. But they also have really great gift sets that come with puzzles which I think is always really fun. I love a puzzle as a gift. I'm a big puzzler. I think it's one of those things that like your brain just totally shuts off and it's so fun around the holidays. So you can bring like a Ghia with a puzzle and then they also have this Nutella that they jar that is so delicious. Somebody actually gave it to me as a gift last holiday season and I used it the entire holiday to like dip chocolate covered strawberries in. It's so, so, so yummy. It's like a hazelnut spread and you can get all of these things on Ghia and do a little gift set. And I think that that's a wonderful thing to bring as well as a little hostess gift and then for a little bit more of a splurge gift. I love these Sophie Lou Jacobson totem martini glasses. They're sculptural and very modern and come in a lot of different colors. But those are actually the martini glasses that I used for the banana cream pie. I think they're so fun and colorful and also just a fun gift to bring to someone. Martini glass is such a great kind of holiday inspired thing. And I think that they sell in sets of two so you don't have to spend a ton of money on these. You can get maybe a set of four and bring to someone and they can build on it if they want to build on more. But I think a set of two is about $100. So that's also just another beautiful gift to bring to someone's home for the holidays. These are all linked in my holiday gift guide that is now up on Shop My I spent way too much time putting this together for you guys. I love holiday shopping. I also love wrapping gifts. I don't know what it is about it, but I think bringing something that is beautifully wrapped to me feels really thoughtful and really intentional no matter how big or small it is. So I will always, the night before Christmas or the night before Thanksgiving or whatever it is, pull out all my favorite wrapping papers, do it with a bow. I'm weirdly good at wrapping gifts. I get it feels very therapeutic to me. So I love being able to bring something that feels like I put together with a little handwritten note that is on like our custom stationery. I think it's just such a nice thing to do. But so, yeah, I spent a lot of time putting that gift guide together. There is literally something for everybody. If you go on there now, you will see four different categories. It's not categorized by theme. Like for him, for her, for the fashion friend. I don't really love that. And even when I'm shopping, it's kind of difficult because I'm like, what if my friend is a fashion friend but she's also a chef? I think that, like when we're all looking for gifts, the first thing that comes to mind is like, okay, what's our budget for this gift? So my gift guide is completely put together by budget. So you'll see a category. Gifts under 250, gifts under 500, gifts under a Thousand and then gifts over a thousand. And from there you'll be able to find everything you need. We have things for men, women. We have things for babies. Maybe you have a friend who just had a baby and you want to bring something for them. All of those things are under those categories and there's truly something for everybody. A few highlights from that that I think would make great gifts this season. I often get asked, like, what the best bag is to give to someone you love for the holidays. And I have to say I think the best gift is the totem T lock clutch. I have one and wear it often on my Instagram. I think it's perfectly priced for a designer bag. It's 950, so under $1,000. And as a classic bag that somebody's going to wear every single day and want to get in numerous colors like I have, I really want to get more colors. I love this bag so much. I convinced one of my best friends to get it recently and she's been wearing it nonstop too. So I think for that someone special in your life, it's such a beautiful classic bag that I think is so well made and at such a great price point. I also really love a great toiletry moment. I think a Dopp kit for men, if they are people who travel all the time, is a great gift. Maybe you can fill it with things they love, you know, maybe that you know some of their favorite toiletries. And I think that's always fun for women. There's a brand called Abode. I think I pronounced it Abode on my Instagram. I have no idea why, but I think it's pronounced Abode. And it's little custom toiletry kits. You can get someone's name engraved in it. You can get their dog put on it. They're really fun. And I'm such a bag inside of a bag person, so I love having those bags with me when I'm traveling. I put all my toiletries in them and I think they're just a fun, thoughtful, intentional gift again for women too. You can fill it with all the things that they love, and I think that that's such a sweet gift. There's also, of course, luxury gifts like great watches for men and women, from Cartier to Rolex, but then all ones that are more approachable. There's one under $500 from Tory Burch that is so beautiful and would also make an incredible gift. And also on the luxury side, there's a brilliant Earth Lab grown diamond necklace that is so beautiful. And I Also want to tell you guys that I will be doing a giveaway for that exact necklace on my Instagram next week. So make sure you're following me because that will be going live. I think next Monday I'll be doing a giveaway for a gorgeous lab grown diamond necklace that I'm so excited to share with you guys. Ladies, if you want that, send this episode to the men in your life and let them know that that giveaway will be happening. I'm pretty sure that that giveaway is going live December 1st and then one other great splurge if you are a massive fashion lover and want a little bit of fashion history. I actually was just in the Dior store in Beverly Hills and picked some of my favorite gifts for the holidays. That reel is also live on my Instagram now. And and they had the ceramic plates that Jonathan Anderson used for his show invite this year that had the hazelnuts on it. It's really a piece of art. It feels like a collector's item and that is something I am definitely adding to my list. I would for sure frame that and put it in my kitchen. They also have one with like a cracked egg on it and a croissant and I just think that they are so, so, so cool and such a great piece of art and fashion history to give to that fashion lover in your life. So that's a fun one too. And if there's anything I missed, please feel free to DM me. If there's someone in your life that you're having a really hard time picking a gift for, shoot me a DM and I will do my best to help you find the perfect gift. One last shout out before we end today's show. While you are shopping for holiday gifts and things for yourself for the holidays, Shop My which you guys know I'm a big fan of. I use Shop My every week. They just launched a new shopper app. It is absolutely amazing. It is an app that you can download that has all of the best recommendations from people like Nara Smith.
