Lisa Rinna
The following podcast is a Dear Media Production. Hi, I'm Lisa Rinna.
Harry Hamlin
And I'm Harry Hamlin.
Lisa Rinna
And this is let's Not Talk about the Husband.
Harry Hamlin
We've been together for over 30 years, and we've been working in this industry a lot longer.
Lisa Rinna
Well, you know, we have some crazy stories to tell. And on this podcast, we're gonna own it, baby.
Harry Hamlin
Buckle up. Let's get into today's episode. Hi, everybody, and welcome back to let's Not Talk about the Husband. But first, welcome back to Lisa Rinna. Welcome back. Do you know that your birthday happened on two continents?
Lisa Rinna
It did.
Harry Hamlin
You celebrated your birthday in Paris and then in la and on a plane. And on a plane. So you actually celebrated your birthday not only in France, but probably, well, all.
Lisa Rinna
Over the Atlantic, all over Greenland. I know that.
Harry Hamlin
So you celebrated your birthday in Greenland.
Lisa Rinna
Yes.
Harry Hamlin
And probably in Maine, because they come over.
Lisa Rinna
We came down this way. I know this. And to la, like this.
Harry Hamlin
So we were somewhere here, Maine, upstate New York, and then Illinois, probably. And all down through all those states. Yeah, you celebrated all over the United States and Europe.
Lisa Rinna
And I was asleep pretty much the entire time, which was heaven. Yeah. We had this Delta. Gonna shout out. Because this was amazing Delta. We had, like, a cubby, so you could pull up the partition here. And then the flight attendant came over and said, oh, I can close this door for you. And you're in, like, your own little private, like, little tiny room, really. It was the first place.
Harry Hamlin
And it folds out into a bed, right?
Lisa Rinna
Yeah. And it even had, like, a bed pad. So you put the pad over the seat so you kind of could feel like you're in bed.
Harry Hamlin
Really? Yeah, yeah, yeah. That reminds me, back in the 80s and 90s, there was an MGM grand at an airport.
Lisa Rinna
And I never got to go.
Harry Hamlin
I went on it.
Lisa Rinna
I know. Of course you did.
Harry Hamlin
They had a bedroom. You had bedrooms.
Lisa Rinna
And you sat at tables, didn't you?
Harry Hamlin
You sat at tables and you had. You had a bedroom so that you and your significant other could really. Whatever. Yeah. Yeah. And I did.
Lisa Rinna
Yeah, you did. Okay, well, tmi. But I don't care. Better than a bathroom, right? Better than a little quickie in the.
Harry Hamlin
Yeah. Which I've never done that either. You mean the Mile High Club?
Lisa Rinna
Yeah.
Harry Hamlin
I suppose I qualify because of MGM grand, but never the other way. I mean, never, like, having to go into a bathroom. Oh, my God.
Lisa Rinna
I remember. I always thought it would be so cool to fly MGM grand, but I was poor.
Harry Hamlin
I wasn't that wealthy. But for some Reason I got a chance to do it.
Lisa Rinna
Yeah, but you're really famous.
Harry Hamlin
Was that what it was? Maybe that's what it was.
Lisa Rinna
By that time, you're really famous.
Harry Hamlin
I guess I was back in the day. I have a T shirt that I'm going to start wearing, says, back in the day, I was the shit.
Lisa Rinna
You're still the shit.
Harry Hamlin
I got it. In New Orleans.
Lisa Rinna
You just got. You, like, for real?
Harry Hamlin
Yeah, I have a shirt. I got it. You know, they sell these crazy shirts in New Orleans, and I. I got this one. This is back in the day. I was the shit.
Lisa Rinna
You're still the honey in your mind.
Harry Hamlin
Okay.
Lisa Rinna
What's it like to see me again? I've been gone for a little while.
Harry Hamlin
What? Well, it was so great to see you because usually I'll come home or you'll come and visit me if we're on set or something like that. I mean, I just kind of have to. Just kind of have to talk about why you were in Scotland. Can we talk about that a little bit? I can. A little bit. I can. There's a little tiny bit you can say about it.
Lisa Rinna
Just a smidge. Because I'm under an NDA and I would have to kill you.
Harry Hamlin
You have to kill you.
Lisa Rinna
If I told you.
Harry Hamlin
If you told me too much, you'd have to kill me.
Lisa Rinna
Right?
Harry Hamlin
And if you had to kill me, how would you do it?
Lisa Rinna
Oh, gosh.
Harry Hamlin
I bet you thought about it many times. I bet this is not the first time your brain has gone, how am I going to kill my husband?
Lisa Rinna
It is, but let's talk about it.
Harry Hamlin
You got all these different ways you could do it, but you don't want to get caught, right? So you'd have to figure out some.
Lisa Rinna
Way to handle insulin. I'd probably shoot at the bottom of your foot. With some insulin.
Harry Hamlin
With some insulin. Is that okay? That's a good one.
Lisa Rinna
A lot of date lines. I've watched a lot of date lines and a lot. I saw that in what show they did with insulin. It's very hard to.
Harry Hamlin
I think I've heard about that. Yeah. And then there's this woman who just got convicted in Australia for mushrooms poisoning. Her neighbors or what, some of her family.
Lisa Rinna
With mushrooms.
Harry Hamlin
Okay. Yeah. Don't do that. That would not.
Lisa Rinna
How would you kill me?
Harry Hamlin
With love. I would smother you with love.
Lisa Rinna
Oh, my God.
Harry Hamlin
Barf.
Lisa Rinna
Come on. You have to kill me some real way. A real way? How would you kill me?
Harry Hamlin
How would I kill you?
Lisa Rinna
Yeah.
Harry Hamlin
I don't know. I've Never given that any thought. I can see that you've given it.
Lisa Rinna
I have not given it one second of thought, to be honest with you. I have not.
Harry Hamlin
Okay, good. So that we're both gonna survive our marriage.
Lisa Rinna
But how are you gonna do it?
Harry Hamlin
Well, I'm not telling you.
Lisa Rinna
Oh, God.
Harry Hamlin
I'm going to surprise you one of these. Someday you'll wake up, you go, oh, what a beautiful day. And you'll be dead by the net. That's right.
Lisa Rinna
I bet you've wanted to kill me many times.
Harry Hamlin
Well, I'm not going to go there.
Lisa Rinna
I bet you have.
Harry Hamlin
But wait a minute. Let's rewind a little bit because. Wait a minute. Why, why would I been gone? Why were you in Scotland?
Lisa Rinna
I went to Paris Fashion Week.
Harry Hamlin
I know you went. So Paris Fashion Week was amazing. Right. And you were voted the best dressed.
Lisa Rinna
No, one of. One of the 10 best dressed in Vanity Fair.
Harry Hamlin
But you don't know whether you were number one or number ten.
Lisa Rinna
No, it wasn't numbered. I think it was just the top 10 best dress.
Harry Hamlin
Then I'm going to say you were the best dress.
Lisa Rinna
Well, you can say it, but I just am going to say one of ten. I'll take it.
Harry Hamlin
No, then I say you were the best dress.
Lisa Rinna
One of ten. I'll take it.
Harry Hamlin
And you were wearing that big blue.
Lisa Rinna
Kind of sleeping bag, Balenciaga. It was two piece. Nobody knows that. It was actually a jacket and pants and it was couture. There's a funny meme going around you. You haven't seen it because you're not on social media. You know, Harry's one of the only people on the planet that technically does not.
Harry Hamlin
I do not do social media.
Lisa Rinna
Social media or TikTok. He has somebody do it for him.
Harry Hamlin
Well, I mean, if I have to post something because, you know, I have a. We, we have a sauce business. We have a, an amazing food business that is just getting started and about to become huge.
Lisa Rinna
Yes. So you have people do that for you for that.
Harry Hamlin
Yeah, but I, I'm all, I'll go to the market, right? Or something. And people come and say, oh God, I saw, saw your daughter in Paris. She would look beautiful. I go, what? So, yeah, she was on Instagram. I go, I don't, I don't go to Instagram. So I don't know what's going on with my family. So.
Lisa Rinna
So there's a very funny meme I'll share with you that I think is quite funny. So in the show, when you get to the Balenciaga Couturier. The atelier, it's called where everybody happens and the work happens. And it's small, it's not big. I think there's only maybe 150, 200 people invited to this. It's a.
Harry Hamlin
And this is a show or the.
Lisa Rinna
This is the couture show at the Coutilier, if that's the right word.
Harry Hamlin
The Cotilier is a place.
Lisa Rinna
I don't know. It's at Balenciaga. You go to the building.
Harry Hamlin
Okay.
Lisa Rinna
It's where everything happens.
Harry Hamlin
So there's a space in the Balenciaga.
Lisa Rinna
Building where you see the show, where.
Harry Hamlin
The show is held?
Lisa Rinna
Yeah.
Harry Hamlin
Oftentimes fashion houses have their shows other places.
Lisa Rinna
Well, this is the fashion. This is the fashion house. And they always have their couture show in the house.
Harry Hamlin
In the house. Oh, do all fashion lines do that, have their couture shows in the house? But Balenciaga does.
Lisa Rinna
Correct. I believe I've been to two now, fortunately. And the two that I've been to were at the house. So right before it starts, you're assigned a seat, and there are probably one, two, three, four rooms combined. So you sit in one of the rooms. So I happen to be in the room at the very end. So you, you chat with people as you're walking through. You see people you know or you'd like to know or, or whatever. Right. So someone will take you to your seat. It was very hot in there. There's one girl that's.
Harry Hamlin
Right. There was a heat wave right in Paris at the time. Yipes.
Lisa Rinna
So this girl, you know, and I'm in like skiwear, you know, it's made just like, like a snow.
Harry Hamlin
With that big blue thing, like a snowboarder. You're wearing. You are wearing basically a goose down sleeping bag on the hottest day in Europe. Right.
Lisa Rinna
I did it for fashion. Yeah. So it's like a snowboarding outfit. Cause it's not down, but it's that rip stop nylon. Yes, thank you. Rip stop nylon. So it's two piece. It doesn't look like it's two piece, but it's pants. And then the jacket actually wraps around you. So put your arm in it and then someone wraps it around your body. And then I think you put this arm down and it comes over and you somehow get your arms in it and then they crinkle it and put the collar up.
Harry Hamlin
Could you get into this outfit if you were all alone on a desert island?
Lisa Rinna
No, no, no.
Harry Hamlin
You would need to have the help of penguins or something.
Lisa Rinna
Anything There something with hands? Somebody that had hands. Penguins don't have.
Harry Hamlin
So the penguins couldn't get you dressed. So how many people does it take to put you in a Balenciaga couture outfit?
Lisa Rinna
So I go to the fitting at the Four Seasons on Saturday. I go to my fitting, and that's a beautiful hotel. It's a beautiful. George.
Harry Hamlin
The Georges Sank. We've been in there. We've never stayed at the Georges Sank, have we?
Lisa Rinna
I have. The first time. I got to go to. I don't think I have the Kenzo show. They put me there. Anyway, so you walk in and Jeff Latham, our friend, does all the flowers.
Harry Hamlin
Right.
Lisa Rinna
At all the Four Seasons.
Harry Hamlin
By the way, Jeff, thank you for the beautiful bouquet of flowers for my birthday, for Lisa's birthday that you sent to the house.
Lisa Rinna
Amazing.
Harry Hamlin
Jeff.
Lisa Rinna
We love Jeff. So you walk in. Jeff's flowers are so mind blowing. But this one was all purple. All purple flowers.
Harry Hamlin
Right. You told me about this because.
Lisa Rinna
Because my person that I like to talk to, who is a spiritual healer, Netta, Mama Netta, we call her, she sent me a text and she said, look for sunflowers and the color purple. What? Came to my door literally that afternoon. Huge bouquet of sunflowers.
Harry Hamlin
Really?
Lisa Rinna
Yes. Can't write it. No, can't write it.
Harry Hamlin
Okay.
Lisa Rinna
From my hat friends, my Ukrainian hat friends.
Harry Hamlin
And then purple. Random purple. Any kind of purple. Was it just purple?
Lisa Rinna
She's just purple. Watch for sunflowers and the color purple. So then I go to my Balenciaga fitting, and I walk in and Jeff Latham's flowers, his display is all purple.
Harry Hamlin
Oh.
Lisa Rinna
So I felt like I was really close to the Angels in Paris. Like things were happening like this. Boom, boom, boom, boom, boom. Anyway, go to the fitting. It's two girls that I love at Balenciaga, the same girls that I usually deal with and see, and they had 1, 2, 3, 4. Four different looks I could have chosen from, but the blue one was couture. I'm always going to choose couture over ready to wear.
Harry Hamlin
Well, it's a good thing you chose that couture outfit, because that made you one of the 10 best dressed people at all of Paris. All on that week.
Lisa Rinna
It was cool.
Harry Hamlin
But okay, you asked me, actually, I'm going to say you are the best dressed.
Lisa Rinna
Thank you. But you're my husband. You're biased. But you asked me how I got into it. So once we were doing the fitting, we. We videotaped it so that I could show someone how to put me in.
Harry Hamlin
This how to get into the dress. You have to put a video. It's like one of those videos you go online to find out, you know, how to put the thing together.
Lisa Rinna
Like a YouTube.
Harry Hamlin
Yeah, I'm gonna go. Yeah, yeah.
Lisa Rinna
But we filmed it. So I was there with my friends Frederik and Johan from Sweden. And Johan did all my wigs. He has a woman in Sweden named Sophia who makes all these fabulous wigs.
Harry Hamlin
And CNN did a whole article on you and your wigs, by the way.
Lisa Rinna
And that's all Johan and Sophia.
Harry Hamlin
Oh, okay.
Lisa Rinna
And Johan, if y' all have been paying attention, is the one that did the first bowl cut wig on me, which was for the Vivienne Westwood sh Show. I'm gonna say two years ago, bowl cut. It went viral. People thought I looked like the guy from the Boy from Stranger Things. Like it went crazy, right?
Harry Hamlin
I don't remember that. But that's because I don't do social media, so I missed it all.
Lisa Rinna
So this was kind of an ode to that. This black bowl cut that we did for the Balenciaga show. So that morning, the show's at 12. I'm going to go with Frederick, who buys couture. I'm gonna go to the show with him. Johan's doing my hair wig, and I'm having my makeup girl, Satako, who I love so much, come to their room to do my makeup and Johan's doing my hair. So they get me dressed. Three different people. Someone had to hold the phone and then two girls had to get. Figure out how to get me in that. And then we got in the sprinter van and we all went to the show.
Harry Hamlin
Okay. So I saw a picture of the dress and it looked like one of your hands was down on your left. Was it on your left side?
Lisa Rinna
Yeah. Cause you're wrapped. You're wrapped.
Harry Hamlin
You couldn't move it. It was like flapping around down here.
Lisa Rinna
Well, I could kind of move it, but I wouldn't have been able to go like that. Like you're.
Harry Hamlin
You're stuck in it.
Lisa Rinna
But this arm I can move.
Harry Hamlin
Okay. Good thing it was your right hand. It was all stuck in.
Lisa Rinna
Yeah, and I'm left handed, so I was all right. Okay, so what happened is we get there, we're early. The guard says you're too early. Excuse me. The doors are not open yet. So we drive around the block. By the time we get back, everyone's in line to get there and the cars are not moving and they're not moving.
Harry Hamlin
Oh, so you should have gotten out.
Lisa Rinna
And you're not moving, and you cannot be late. They're threatening to close the doors at whatever time. So we end up getting out of the sprinter van and walking a block, which is not far, but in that outfit, it's far.
Harry Hamlin
And it was also, like 90 degrees, right? Really hot. In a sleeping bag, walking through the streets of Paris. Just little Lisa Rena on a normal day.
Lisa Rinna
People taking pictures. Me trying to keep it up because, you know, it sort of falls down because of gravity. You know, you have to kind of, like, maneuver this outfit to make it look right. So by the time I got inside, you know, they do a official photo when you get in. So wait, I have to tell this story because I'm gonna name drop, honey.
Harry Hamlin
Oh, boy.
Lisa Rinna
Name dropping, honey.
Harry Hamlin
Names are about to be dropped.
Lisa Rinna
I'm gonna do it.
Harry Hamlin
Drumroll. Okay.
Lisa Rinna
Because it's just too freaking exciting. I am a fan girl at the very most. At the very least. And the very most. So I get there, finally walk. I'm, like, trying to straighten myself up, but it's not easy. Cause I don't have this arm. I just.
Harry Hamlin
You got no one helping you at this point. You're all alone.
Lisa Rinna
I'm all, well, Frederick is somewhere.
Harry Hamlin
Okay. But nobody's helping you with the. Make this dress right at the moment. Okay.
Lisa Rinna
But I know that once I get inside. Because the girl said, don't worry. Once you get inside, I will fix you before the photo. There's a official photo that you take once you get inside.
Harry Hamlin
Okay.
Lisa Rinna
In front of these curtains. So we're all waiting to take the photo. Like the.
Harry Hamlin
Where are the names?
Lisa Rinna
I keep the names.
Harry Hamlin
These names, they're dropping from the sky. Well, there's one up there. Here it comes.
Lisa Rinna
I happen to be standing right behind Lord. Oh, Lord.
Harry Hamlin
Lord. Okay.
Lisa Rinna
There's one like, Lord. And I was like, oh, my God. And so, of course, I just talked to myself in my head. I'm like, oh, my God. I'm standing behind Lorde. Oh, my fucking God. I'm standing.
Harry Hamlin
Do you think that Lorde was saying, oh, my God, I'm standing in front of Lisa Rinna right now?
Lisa Rinna
No, I don't.
Harry Hamlin
Why not?
Lisa Rinna
Because, trust me, I don't. But I had that moment. And then. So Lorde goes up, takes her photo. Then I see Naomi Watts and her daughter Kai. Now, Amelia has just worked with Kai in Rome for Valentino.
Harry Hamlin
That's right. That's right.
Lisa Rinna
And Naomi was there. So, Naomi, it's the first time we've gotten to see each other and kind of meet and be like, hi. You know, like our daughters work together. And she thanked me. She was like, your daughter's so amazing. She was so amazing with Kai. So we got to have like a cute little bonding mama proud bear moment. Mama bear proud moment, which was really sweet. So she was in front of me with her daughter because Lord got whisked away somehow. Cause she's Lord.
Harry Hamlin
Lord knows.
Lisa Rinna
And so I take a photo after Naomi and her daughter, and I take my photo and they fix me up and, you know, then I have to walk upstairs to go to the room and I have a man hold my hand, let me go up the stairs with him, because really, I can't move that much in that outfit.
Harry Hamlin
And it's 90 degrees outside.
Lisa Rinna
Well, let's say for fashion, it's probably 80. It wasn't as hot as it had been.
Harry Hamlin
Well, but was it worth it? Of course it was worth it.
Lisa Rinna
Are you kidding?
Harry Hamlin
You're one of the best dressed people at Couture.
Lisa Rinna
It was just so much fun. And in that room, Nicole Kidman, I got to chit chat with. Oh, there was Salma Hayek. And I got to meet Natalie Lee Cohen, who is one of my favorite photographers, like, on the planet. She's super, super freaking talented. I sat next to the Russian boy from Menorah.
Harry Hamlin
Boom. Okay.
Lisa Rinna
The boy who is. So I said to him, I wish you'd won it because you were brilliant. Or I just said, I'm not sure.
Harry Hamlin
He was even nominated. Was he. Was he nominated?
Lisa Rinna
I think he was.
Harry Hamlin
The other guy was nominated. The guy who played the sort of hood.
Lisa Rinna
I think he was in that.
Harry Hamlin
But he was brilliant anyway.
Lisa Rinna
He's brilliant. He was so cute because he had his glasses on. Because a lot of people wear their glasses to Balenciaga. I didn't have glasses this time, by the way.
Harry Hamlin
The glasses you're wearing right now. Who makes those?
Lisa Rinna
I don't know, because somebody gave them to me for free. So I can't see your eyes exactly how I want it today.
Harry Hamlin
Really? But you can see my eyes because I'm not wearing my glasses.
Lisa Rinna
Yeah, I know. You decided not to wear your glasses.
Harry Hamlin
I'm kind of going on. I'm gonna try to. Well, because I got these cataracts and I'm gonna have some surgery later. But, you know, I'm gonna. I think that the glasses. The more you wear the glasses, the weaker your eyes get, you know? So what I'm going to try to do is strengthen them a little bit now because I'm going to have this cataract surgery. And once I have that, I won't need glasses anymore. And I've kind of gotten used to those glasses. And you know what? They're kind of like, they're like an albatross around your neck a little bit. You know, I'd rather not have glasses if I can avoid it.
Lisa Rinna
There you go.
Harry Hamlin
There you go. I'm giving it a try.
Lisa Rinna
Today I'm having glasses because I look like death warmed over and this is what you're getting.
Harry Hamlin

Lisa Rinna
I was staying in a castle.
Harry Hamlin
That's right.
Lisa Rinna
I was at a castle.
Harry Hamlin
You were staying in a castle?
Lisa Rinna
Yeah, I think it was announced that I went and did this little show called Traitors.
Harry Hamlin
Traitors? Yeah. So you've been playing a game for the last. That's right. And how do you feel about that? Did you enjoy yourself playing the game? Really? Was it hard?
Lisa Rinna
Very. Harder than ever. Harder than anything.
Harry Hamlin
Harder than anything. So you did Dancing with the Stars too? Was it harder than Dancing with the Stars?
Lisa Rinna
Yes.
Harry Hamlin
Wow. That's harder than Broadway and harder than Broadway. That says a lot. So that means that the people who play this game are fierce badasses. Really?
Lisa Rinna
Fierce badasses.
Harry Hamlin
Really? Okay.
Lisa Rinna
Fierce badasses, period.
Harry Hamlin
So you came home a fierce badass. Now should I get my flak jacket on? Do I even. You put a helmet on. What's going on?
Lisa Rinna
Have I been nice so far? Have I bit your head off yet? No, I haven't.
Harry Hamlin
Not really.
Lisa Rinna
Not really. Not really. I've been pretty good.
Harry Hamlin
Yeah, you have. I'm waiting for the shoe to drop. Am I going to be okay? Yeah, yeah. Okay.
Lisa Rinna
Yeah, you will. You will.
Harry Hamlin
Because. Because the way you described it, it's fierce. You know, you had to become pretty fierce. Yeah, yeah.
Lisa Rinna
Fun. All good. Fun, fun, fun.
Harry Hamlin
Yeah, Yeah, I guess. I mean, and at some Point. You're going to be able to talk. You can't really talk about it now because it's all really secret. Right. I can't even know anything about it.
Lisa Rinna
Nope. You know nothing.
Harry Hamlin
You'd have to kill me if I.
Lisa Rinna
Would have to kill you. So.
Harry Hamlin
That's. Right. That's why we got on that. How are you gonna kill me? Jag. But. So. But. Okay, so you were there in Scotland.
Lisa Rinna
I just for. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Harry Hamlin
How was the weather?
Lisa Rinna
Weather was cool and cloudy.
Harry Hamlin
Okay. Cause I can talk to you about the weather. I can talk to you about where the height.
Lisa Rinna
Cool and cloudy green. Scotland's gorgeous. I can tell you that. Scotland is magnificent country.
Harry Hamlin
Really.
Lisa Rinna
Ah.
Harry Hamlin
You know, I've only been to Scotland once and that.
Lisa Rinna
Where were you?
Harry Hamlin
I was in third. I was 13. And my.
Lisa Rinna
Oh, yeah.
Harry Hamlin
I told this story.
Lisa Rinna
You have it. Tell it. It's kind of interesting.
Harry Hamlin
So my.
Lisa Rinna
Yeah.
Harry Hamlin
When my grandfather died, it was 1963, and we were sent the family Bible, which had been in his possession for, I guess, generations. Right. It's a big, thick Bible like that. And in the Bible, there was a reference to where the family had come from. And there was actually an address in the Bible, like the address of where the Hamlin family had been living in Scotland before they emigrated to the United States in the, like, 1600s. Right. Wow. They went to Barnstable, Massachusetts. I don't know how they got there. It wasn't the Mayflower, but it was like one of those boats. And they went to Barnstable, Massachusetts, and where they settled, and we got this Bible, and the Bible had the address of where the Hamlin family had originated, and the address was in Glasgow in Scotland. So what did we do as a family? We flew over to. To the United Kingdom. We rented a car and we drove up to find out if the old family home was still there, because we had the exact street address in Glasgow. So we get to Glasgow and we're driving around and we're asking, you know, where's this street? Oh, yeah, we know. Oh, no, let me see if I can do a Scottish accent. Then they say, we know that. Exactly where that is. That's all right. Over there. You know, take the right and then another left and y. Yeah, that's a gigantic building. You know where you're. You're from. That's my Scottish accent.
Lisa Rinna
Pretty good.
Harry Hamlin
And so. And so we. We get. We get to. To. To this street and. And. And the building. We find the building. There's this huge cement edifice that's got to Be hundreds and hundreds of years old. But there are bars on the windows. It's a jail, It's a prison. It's the Berlini prison. That's where my family was from, the prison.
Lisa Rinna
But it wasn't a prison before that.
Harry Hamlin
Of course it was. It's been the Berlini prison for hundreds and hundreds of years.
Lisa Rinna
So what do you mean they were from the prison?
Harry Hamlin
We came from the prison. We were crooks.
Lisa Rinna
Uh oh.
Harry Hamlin
They released us from the prison and we went over, we emigrated to. They probably. They sent us over to America.
Lisa Rinna
Wow.
Harry Hamlin
Where they. Where my family became extremely wealthy. You know, in the 1800s, my great friend from what I forget sugar, the American glucose company. My great great grandfather started that company or ended up buying that company or something. But they were big industrialists. Yeah. But the only time I've been to Scotland is when I found out where my family was from. Happened to be prison. Anyway, I never saw the really beautiful part of Scotland. You were up in the north somewhere.
Lisa Rinna
This was so beautiful. But you know, it doesn't get dark till like one in the morning. It stays light.
Harry Hamlin
That's right. Because you're so far north.
Lisa Rinna
That was trippy. You're so far north that it does not really ever get dark.
Harry Hamlin
So what time would you go to bed?
Lisa Rinna
It just never really gets dark. Even like as I don't think the sun ever goes down during that time. A little tiny bit, but then it's back up really.
Harry Hamlin
So it never really gets dark.
Lisa Rinna
Not really. It's trippy. How does your body process that for circadian rhythm? You know, you're north and so that was trippy that it did not get dark, really.
Harry Hamlin
Wow. So beautiful. You must have been very tired the whole time.
Lisa Rinna
No, I mean, well, yeah.
Harry Hamlin
Yeah.
Lisa Rinna
You know, when we work, we work, you know, our hours. When we work as performers and actors, contestants and things, we work. You know you work, you know you work. So where you go? There you go. Harry Hamlin
Just another piece of news for this week because this is really Important week for our family business.
Lisa Rinna
Yeah. What's happening this week? So.
Harry Hamlin
All right, I'm going to show you. All right, so what we're doing at the Open Food Company which makes our sauces is we've rebranded. Okay. So.
Lisa Rinna
Oh, nice. I like that. Yeah.
Harry Hamlin
Okay.
Lisa Rinna
I do.
Harry Hamlin
Born to be Fresh. Okay, this.
Lisa Rinna
Oh, I like it.
Harry Hamlin
This is. All of them have born to. We got this whole new thing born. So that's Born to be Fresh. That's the marinara sauce, and this is the lemon pepper dill sauce.
Lisa Rinna
I like this label, which is.
Harry Hamlin
You like these labels? These are cool, right?
Lisa Rinna
Really good.
Harry Hamlin
Born to be Zesty. All right, great. So, you know, we've got two more coming. These are the first two that have dropped. Born to be.
Lisa Rinna
That's the marinara.
Harry Hamlin
Marinara.
Lisa Rinna
Which Bolognese.
Harry Hamlin
No, this is not.
Lisa Rinna
So it's new.
Harry Hamlin
This is brand new. This brand new.
Lisa Rinna
What's the difference between bolognese and marinara? I think the people need to know that.
Harry Hamlin
Okay, I'll tell you. So the first sauce, the OG sauce, which is the red wine sauce, the.
Lisa Rinna
Red wine, which we call Bolognese.
Harry Hamlin
Well, it's. Because it works if you put meat in it, and it's basically a base sauce. You can use it for all kinds of things. It's not really a pasta sauce in the sense that you pour it on pasta and it's good like that. You want to add it to other stuff. It's kind of a base sauce.
Lisa Rinna
Okay.
Harry Hamlin
These sauces are just pasta sauces. You can pour these right on the pasta.
Lisa Rinna
Like, just pour them on. Don't add anything right here.
Harry Hamlin
Well, you can add to this one. And also with this one, here is the old label on it. This is amazing.
Lisa Rinna
That's the vodka sauce.
Harry Hamlin
This is the vodka sauce, which you absolutely love. Okay, so the vodka sauce you add cream to.
Lisa Rinna
Is that getting a new label, too?
Harry Hamlin
It is cool.
Lisa Rinna
I like this a lot.
Harry Hamlin
And lemon pepper dill is amazing. You can put cream in that, too.
Lisa Rinna
How do you put lemon and cream together? Because when I do that in my tea, it separates. Do you know what I mean? Like, if I put oat milk or milk or almond milk in my lemon tea, it separates it.
Harry Hamlin
It has a lemon zest.
Lisa Rinna
Okay.
Harry Hamlin
So it won't curdle. So it won't curdle.
Lisa Rinna
My teachers curdled yesterday and was like, darn it, should I drink it? And I was like, oh, whatever, I'm just gonna drink it. But it gets all separated.
Harry Hamlin
But it does. It doesn't hurt.
Lisa Rinna
It no, it just. It looks kind of gross.
Harry Hamlin
The great thing about these, and this is gonna be a test of me without my glasses on, because I gotta read some small stuff. Okay. So what we've done is we have certification. So we have 100 women owned and operated business. That's a certification.
Lisa Rinna
That's your niece Renee.
Harry Hamlin
We have non gmo.
Lisa Rinna
Great.
Harry Hamlin
Which is great. Certification. And then the other ones are so small, it's hard for me to read them.
Lisa Rinna
Do you want my glasses? I have mine.
Harry Hamlin
Yeah, sure. Give me your glasses. Let me see. See if I can read these.
Lisa Rinna
Do. I mean, they're not very strong because.
Harry Hamlin
Not only that, but just another thing that you should know about these sauces is that you can make them at home. We give you the recipe and the. The ingredients that you can buy at the store so that you can actually go to the store. You can buy the ingredients that are written on the label.
Lisa Rinna
But why would you want to do that? Why wouldn't you just want to get it out of the jar? Oh, those look good on you.
Harry Hamlin
Yeah. Oh, good. They're not quite strong enough.
Lisa Rinna
No, I know. They're only a one. They're only a one.
Harry Hamlin
Okay. This one is upcycled, too. That means that. That the vegetables that are in here, the. The mirepoix, which is a vegetable mixture of. It's like celery.
Lisa Rinna
Very fancy word.
Harry Hamlin
Yeah, it's. It's a. It's something. It's a culinary thing.
Lisa Rinna
Okay.
Harry Hamlin
That the mirepoix in this is upcycled. That means that they take all these vegetables that would go to the dump because they're. Because they're funny, because the characters are crooked. And we also use them in this sauce, so it's called upside. So we have also. We're certified, upcycled, and then non gmo.
Lisa Rinna
And women, those glasses are so good on you. You may need to get these frames. I'm not kidding. They are so good on you.
Harry Hamlin
If I have. Have to get new frames, I'll get these. Okay. Anyway, so this is out now, and it's available at Amazon.
Lisa Rinna
Where do they get it?
Harry Hamlin
You can get it@harrysfamous.com and pretty soon we're.
Lisa Rinna
And did you say Amazon also?
Harry Hamlin
Of course.
Lisa Rinna
So harrysfamous.com and Amazon.com and Amazon.com. all right.
Harry Hamlin
It does have a dot com.
Lisa Rinna
You want it to be real clear.
Harry Hamlin
Okay. Amazon.com and you can get lemon pepper, dill. You can get marinara number seven. And. Okay, so the reason this is called marinara number Seven is because there are seven vegetables in. In this.
Lisa Rinna
Oh. So, like, which ones? Tell me.
Harry Hamlin
Okay, so you got garlic, you got onions, you got carrots, you got green squash, you got yellow squash and you've got tomatoes. And how many is that?
Lisa Rinna
Six.
Harry Hamlin
Six. Well, there's another one in there.
Lisa Rinna
Mushrooms.
Harry Hamlin
But anyway, that's the thing. The biggest news is that this is out and People magazine just came out with an article today.
Lisa Rinna
Yay.
Harry Hamlin
And Today's not seen it yet. It just came out at 10 o'.
Lisa Rinna
Clock. Oh, that's why I haven't seen it.
Harry Hamlin
Yeah. So anyway, that's the story on that.
Lisa Rinna
Exciting.
Harry Hamlin
So, yeah, really exciting that the new sauces are out.
Lisa Rinna
Yay.
Harry Hamlin
Pretty soon we're going to be in retail stores. We'll be all over the place. And. Yeah. And this is like.
Lisa Rinna
And we'll be rich.
Harry Hamlin
Well, it's not about the money. It's about getting clean food and we'll be rich. Yeah, it's not about the money. It's about getting clean food.
Lisa Rinna
When is it going to be about the money, though?
Harry Hamlin
When?
Lisa Rinna
Please tell me when.
Harry Hamlin
You know, the good news is, is that.
Lisa Rinna
Here, give me those.
Harry Hamlin
Yeah. Okay.
Lisa Rinna
Well, they are such good glasses.
Harry Hamlin
Are they?
Lisa Rinna
Yeah.
Harry Hamlin
They actually look good on you.
Lisa Rinna
Oh, yeah.
Harry Hamlin
They're not girly glasses.
Lisa Rinna
No. You should get these for sure. Where'd I get these? Salt. I think I got them at salt.
Harry Hamlin
Oh, okay.
Lisa Rinna
Salt.
Harry Hamlin
So there you go. So welcome. Welcome back to salt civilization. After been gone for all this time, I had fun.
Lisa Rinna
Wow.
Harry Hamlin
Somehow we managed to survive without you. I don't know how we did.
Lisa Rinna
I bet it was really nice.
Harry Hamlin
Well, while you were gone, I bet.
Lisa Rinna
It was really quiet and really nice.
Harry Hamlin
Well, I. I did some podcasts while you were gone.
Lisa Rinna
I heard. How'd they go?
Harry Hamlin
I did one with Cheetah with our little buddy.
Lisa Rinna
I saw a picture of her sitting.
Harry Hamlin
In Cheetah and she was brilliant. Wasn't she brilliant, Eve?
Lisa Rinna
Absolutely brilliant.
Harry Hamlin
See, Eve is our producer, and Eve was here during the time when I was doing the show with Cheetah and then Delilah and then two with Delilah.
Lisa Rinna
Two with Delilah.
Harry Hamlin
Yes, two with Delilah. Delilah.
Lisa Rinna
I need to watch these and listen.
Harry Hamlin
You should see them.
Lisa Rinna
I just got back, so I know nothing.
Harry Hamlin
She was great.
Lisa Rinna
Yeah, she's a superstar. And then some other like.
Harry Hamlin
And then we Did Danny Santos 1. Danny Santos is an expert astrologer. I would have loved that Ayahuasca. Kind of shaman person. Very interesting podcast to do what you learn.
Lisa Rinna
Would you take ayahuasca after doing After.
Harry Hamlin
No, but I kind of want to. Really? Well, I mean, I do hear scares out of me. Like, all this stuff comes out of you.
Lisa Rinna
Yeah, that's why it scared the literal shit out of me. And vomit, too. Okay, I'm scared of it. But you know what? I might do mushrooms, but guided. Like a mushroom trip. Psychedelic mushroom trip, but guided. My friend just did it with her friend.
Harry Hamlin
Oh, really?
Lisa Rinna
So they have the person I do that. I don't think I would do ayahuasca, but I would do that. You want to do that?
Harry Hamlin
Sure, why not? What the heck, you know?
Lisa Rinna
I mean, you can go do ayahuasca, but you've done acid. I have obviously not done acid. But you said it was an amazing trip.
Harry Hamlin
Well, I didn't have a bad time. I've talked to people who've done LSD before. Who's had horrible experiences with it.
Lisa Rinna
Being out of control is what scares me.
Harry Hamlin
And I never. I didn't do it recreationally.
Lisa Rinna
So how'd you do it?
Harry Hamlin
Well, I mean, it was kind of inadvertent.
Lisa Rinna
Oh, it kind of was thrown in your mouth.
Harry Hamlin
But I ended up. I ended up having a great time for a couple of days running around through the ferns of La Honda, California. Yeah. Which was. It was great. But I have heard that people have a bad experience with that, so.
Lisa Rinna
See, I think. I think it might be cool. And I've never thought this before, but when I was in Paris, my friend, he shared with me that he had gone on this guided mushroom trip and that it changed his life. It, like, reset his brain and he is a better person for it. And I was like, hmm, I've never thought to do it, but maybe we should. Because told me about it, and I knew that you could get somebody here and it. You know, as long as I had a guided guide help us, I think I'd be okay.
Harry Hamlin
I think you would, too. And you probably would be so okay that you'd say, when can I do it again?
Lisa Rinna
You know, so she's done it a couple times that it's amazing. So if you want to do it with me, we should do it.
Harry Hamlin
Well, I'm there.
Lisa Rinna
Absolutely, we should do it.
Harry Hamlin
Let's definitely do that. And maybe at the same time we could explore tantrism, you know?
Lisa Rinna
Well, maybe not the exact same time. Like, let's do one at a time.
Harry Hamlin
Okay. We'll do one at a time.
Lisa Rinna
You know what I mean? Like, I think.
Harry Hamlin
And then we'll check in and we'll tell you how it went. Yeah, okay.
Lisa Rinna
One at a time.
Harry Hamlin
Because it sounds like a double whammy, right?
Lisa Rinna
Well, yeah, you got to do one at a time. Yeah, that might blow my head off. I got to do. Do tantric. You do by your. You figure that out. Because Sting and his wife do that. Trudy. I think they're very into tantric sex.
Harry Hamlin
Well, so why not?
Lisa Rinna
Why not? But not at the same time. That'd be too much. Let's do mushrooms first.
Harry Hamlin
From your lips to God's ear. Let's do mushrooms first.
Lisa Rinna
Did you ever think I would say that? Never.
Harry Hamlin
I know when you're saying that on.
Lisa Rinna
A podcast, but I was so moved by Johan telling me this story. I was like, well, there can't be.
Harry Hamlin
Anything wrong with opening doors of perception. And I think that these drugs.
Lisa Rinna
Oh, wait. It also helped him with his depression. He said it really, really helped with depression.
Harry Hamlin
Oh, so he had some depression going on?
Lisa Rinna
I believe so at the time, you know, he'd gone through, I think, a very difficult breakup.
Harry Hamlin
Oh, yeah, that'll do it.
Lisa Rinna
And so whatever he said to me made me go, maybe we should try it.
Harry Hamlin
Well, we don't have any weird breakups and stuff like that going on in our life right now, but why don't we try just to see what happens?
Lisa Rinna
Sounds like it could be cool.
Harry Hamlin
Yeah.
Lisa Rinna
Yeah.
Harry Hamlin
Maybe we should film the experience.
Lisa Rinna
Oh, God.
Harry Hamlin
You know, and, you know, then we can record it and, like, yipes. Yeah, why not?
Lisa Rinna
I don't know about that.
Harry Hamlin
Okay.
Lisa Rinna
I'm not sure about that. I might want it to just be, like, a private thing that happens that I never look at. Like having. Like when we filmed my Birth of Delilah. I think that.
Harry Hamlin
Which, by the way, is pretty incredible. That I just don't. That we have those photographs of her head coming out of your vg, you know, about this far out. I mean. Yeah, that's pretty amazing, those pictures.
Lisa Rinna
Yeah, I just don't think that that's.
Harry Hamlin
Has she seen them, by the way? Would that blow her mind to see that? I think it would.
Lisa Rinna
I'm not sure that's something you go back and watch.
Harry Hamlin
Hey, sweetheart, you want to see your birthing pictures? Come here. Take. Take a look at this. Oh, my God.
Lisa Rinna
Pretty mind blowing. So, yeah, I'm gonna say no filming of the mushrooms.
Harry Hamlin
Okay.
Lisa Rinna
We'll just let it be. We'll let it be in the universe.
Harry Hamlin
Okay.
Lisa Rinna
Yeah.
Harry Hamlin
All right, let's do that.
Lisa Rinna
Well, it's fun to be back.
Harry Hamlin
It's good to have you back. I mean, here you are. And by the way, I couldn't talk to you for the entire time you were a contestant on that show.
Lisa Rinna
I bet you could.
Harry Hamlin
Well, they let you talk to me for five minutes.
Lisa Rinna
They take your phone. We can say that. They take your phone from you.
Harry Hamlin
You were completely sequestered from me.
Lisa Rinna
They take your phone from you, and you don't have your phone. And I will tell you, it was the greatest thing to ever happen.
Harry Hamlin
Tell me about that.
Lisa Rinna
I needed my phone taken away. I needed to be in rehab detox for my phone. And I never would have done it.
Harry Hamlin
No, you never would. Because you got up in the morning and you hit that iPad and you're on that iPad for a good two hours.
Lisa Rinna
No, one hour only. Well, okay, whatever you want. My hours at the end of the week are only like five hours.
Harry Hamlin
Really?
Lisa Rinna
Yeah. That's my screen time. So it can't be two hours.
Harry Hamlin
That's weird because I got my screen time yesterday given to me. I've five and a half hours a day. It says I look at my phone.
Lisa Rinna
No.
Harry Hamlin
And I hardly ever look at my phone.
Lisa Rinna
You never look at your phone, but.
Harry Hamlin
It says average daily use, five and a half hours. And you're saying yours is one hour. No.
Lisa Rinna
Maybe more.
Harry Hamlin
Sorry.
Lisa Rinna
Yeah, okay, whatever. All right, fine. Anyway. They take your phone.
Harry Hamlin
Yeah. And basically stuff was happening. I couldn't communicate with you. If something happened, some emergency happened. I mean, there was sort of a way for me to get through to you, but you were basically.
Lisa Rinna
I did not have my phone.
Harry Hamlin
It was a blackout.
Lisa Rinna
It was the greatest thing to happen to me ever. I will say. It changed. It was so. I'm. I am so grateful for not having the phone. For not having the phone. It was freedom. All of a sudden, no responsibility. The only responsibility I had was to play the game. That's it. I had nothing. I didn't have to look at an email. I didn't have to do anything. It was like freedom.
Harry Hamlin
So you were living in the moment.
Lisa Rinna
The whole time or trying to.
Harry Hamlin
Well, you couldn't. I mean, you were focused on the moment. You couldn't be thinking about what happened before was going to happen next week. You were thinking. You were totally focused on the moment.
Lisa Rinna
Greatest thing ever.
Harry Hamlin
And that's quite a gift.
Lisa Rinna
It's a gift to have that.
Harry Hamlin
Yeah.
Lisa Rinna
If you can manipulate yourself somehow or manipulate your life to where you get to be in the moment like that and get rid of your phone. That's why I think rehab would be great, because you go and you go through the process and it. You can't be in control and whatever. Like I could just go to rehab to just like.
Harry Hamlin
Just to relax.
Lisa Rinna
To relax. It's truly.
Harry Hamlin
This is also why I go up.
Lisa Rinna
In the mountains now. I. Oh, I totally understand.
Harry Hamlin
I go up and I can't. No phone. Four or five days and I'm completely in the moment.
Lisa Rinna
I thought I would die without my phone. No, I didn't. I loved it. I loved it.
Harry Hamlin
Can you keep it up? No.
Lisa Rinna
Well, I've been much better. I mean, now I'm back in reality and I have to, like, answer people and do some things, but I'm not fully back.
Harry Hamlin
So do you think you can actually limit it now?
Lisa Rinna
Oh, yeah.
Harry Hamlin
Really? Okay, good. Good.
Lisa Rinna
Oh, yeah.
Harry Hamlin
So something changed in your life.
Lisa Rinna
Yes.
Harry Hamlin
That you think is positive about the phone thing and all your addiction to all the radio.
Lisa Rinna
Totally addicted to all of it. Addiction, addiction, addiction. And this was like rehab for me. They took away my phone and my pills. All my. All your pills away.
Harry Hamlin
Your pills?
Lisa Rinna
Everything.
Harry Hamlin
Oh, my God. Your pill bag.
Lisa Rinna
My pill bag?
Harry Hamlin
Without your pill bag, what are you gonna do?
Lisa Rinna
They took it. Oh, they took my pill bag. They took everything. Everything. You have to ask if you want a Tylenol.
Harry Hamlin
Wow. Welcome back and thank you.
Lisa Rinna
Thanks, guys. See you later.

Introduction
In this vibrant episode of Let's Not Talk About The Husband, co-hosts Lisa Rinna and Harry Hamlin delve into a myriad of entertaining and insightful topics, ranging from Lisa’s recent acting endeavors to their thriving business ventures. With their trademark humor and candidness, Lisa and Harry provide listeners with an engaging glimpse into their lives, both personal and professional.
Celebrating Birthdays Across Continents
The episode kicks off with a lighthearted discussion about Lisa’s unique birthday celebration that spanned multiple continents. Harry humorously recounts how Lisa managed to celebrate her birthday in Paris, Los Angeles, and even Greenland, all while mostly staying asleep:
Harry Hamlin [00:41]: "You celebrated your birthday in Paris and then in LA and on a plane. So you actually celebrated your birthday not only in France, but probably, well, all over Greenland."
Lisa Rinna [00:55]: "I was asleep pretty much the entire time, which was heaven."
Playful Banter: Kidding About Each Other
Lisa and Harry engage in their signature playful banter, joking about "not talking about the husband" by hypothetically discussing how they might "kill" each other. This segment showcases their long-standing rapport and ability to entertain listeners with humorous, albeit fictional, scenarios.
Harry Hamlin [03:38]: "I would smother you with love."
Lisa Rinna [04:01]: "With some insulin. Is that okay? That's a good one."
Lisa’s Acting Journey: Filming "Traitors" in Scotland
Transitioning to more substantial content, Lisa shares her recent experience filming the TV show Traitors in Scotland. She describes staying in a castle and participating in a challenging game that tested her resilience more than her previous engagements on Dancing with the Stars and Broadway.
Lisa Rinna [22:31]: "I was staying in a castle."
Harry Hamlin [22:56]: "Harder than anything."
She emphasizes the intensity of the role and the demanding nature of the show, reinforcing her versatility and dedication as an actress.
Behind the Scenes: Couture and Celebrity Encounters
A significant portion of the episode is dedicated to Lisa’s experience at a Balenciaga couture show in Paris. She narrates the complexities of wearing a two-piece rip-stop nylon outfit that resembled a sleeping bag, highlighting the meticulous preparation required to don such high-fashion attire.
Lisa Rinna [08:23]: "I did it for fashion. So it's like a snowboarding outfit."
Harry Hamlin [11:18]: "But it's a good thing you chose that couture outfit, because that made you one of the 10 best dressed people at Couture."
Lisa recounts interactions with notable celebrities, including Naomi Watts and Salma Hayek, and shares amusing anecdotes about navigating the Balenciaga event while maintaining her composure in a challenging outfit.
Lisa Rinna [16:12]: "Naomi was there. She thanked me and said, 'Your daughter’s so amazing.'"
Business Ventures: Rebranding and Expanding
Shifting focus to their entrepreneurial endeavors, Harry introduces the rebranding of their Open Food Company sauces under the new "Born to Be" label. They unveil the first two products: "Born to Be Fresh" Marinara Sauce and "Born to Be Zesty" Lemon Pepper Dill Sauce. The hosts discuss the unique features of these sauces, including their upcycled ingredients and non-GMO certifications.
Harry Hamlin [29:22]: "So we have certification. So we have 100 women owned and operated business. That's a certification."
Lisa Rinna [32:15]: "Why would you want to do that? Why wouldn't you just want to get it out of the jar?"
They elaborate on the company’s commitment to sustainability and quality, explaining how consumers can recreate their sauces at home using provided recipes and store-bought ingredients.
Harry Hamlin [32:30]: "You can make them at home. We give you the recipe and the ingredients that you can buy at the store so that you can actually go to the store."
The rebranding effort is met with enthusiasm, and they highlight the upcoming availability of their products in retail stores, aiming to make clean and flavorful food more accessible to a broader audience.
Personal Reflections: Managing Screen Time and Digital Detox
Lisa shares her transformative experience on a reality show where her phone was confiscated, leading to an unintended digital detox. She describes this period as a form of "rehab" that allowed her to live fully in the moment without the constant distractions of digital devices.
Lisa Rinna [40:08]: "It was the greatest thing to ever happen to me. It changed. It was so... I am so grateful for not having the phone."
Harry reflects on his own struggles with screen time, humorously noting discrepancies in their reported usage.
Harry Hamlin [41:07]: "It says average daily use, five and a half hours. And you're saying yours is one hour. No."
This segment underscores the importance of balancing digital engagement with personal well-being, resonating with listeners who grapple with similar challenges.
Exploring Psychedelics: A Future Adventure
The hosts venture into a candid conversation about psychedelics, discussing the potential benefits and their willingness to explore guided experiences with substances like mushrooms. They contemplate the therapeutic effects, such as alleviating depression and enhancing self-awareness, while also addressing the apprehensions associated with such practices.
