So I wonder like how close we are to being the top customer, if we're even close to that.

You brought them to your family's house over Christmas, and I just saw them return to the shop all mangled up. And I wondered, how in the heck did they break little mini snowmobiles? I owned a mini snowmobile, and I'm fairly destructive, and I never crash mine.

[Ben]

Well, Ryan, I got a great story for you.

[Ryan]

How the hell did you break them?

[Micah]

You want to know something? I'll just say before Ben's story happens. Here is.

[Ben]

This is literally.

[Micah]

This was my childhood. If I ever left my dirt bike at Ben's, a pedal bike, a scooter, anything, I would come back and it would be broken. Something would have happened to it, and no one knew how. It broke every single time.

[Ben]

Remember it? Like, I don't know.

[Micah]

It's kind of his. His MO. I don't know if it's his Mo. If it's just that house's mo, I don't know what it is, but. But let's hear the story. How did this one actually get banged?

[Ben]

Yeah, this one actually wasn't on me.

[Ryan]

Yeah, right.

[Ben]

Okay. So I have four nieces and nephews. Two nieces, two nephews. And they are like eight, five, three and two. So I thought that they'd be old enough for snowmobiles. And I've like every Christmas for the last like three years I've been telling my siblings like, can I get them sleds? And up until this point like they've been like, no, they're too young or they're not ready. The older two are like the girls. And last year I had gotten them like little plastic four wheelers to like ride around in the house. And they got the skill base there, I guess. And my siblings were like, okay, yeah, you can get them these snowmobiles or bring these snowmobiles over and we'll give them helmets and like prep them and get them ready for this. Right.

[Ryan]

So nothing can go wrong.

[Ben]

I was fired up on it. So we have these two little snowmobiles that we built last year for a Seaboise video. One of them is a little skidoo 120. Pop up a picture of it and then we put an electric battery and motor in it and the thing will do like 60 miles per hour.

[Evan]

But you brought the 251, right too?

[Ben]

So I brought that one.

[Evan]

But no, the one with the 250 motor in it.

[Ben]

I didn't bring that one because it sucks.

[Micah]

And they'd have to shift. It'd be.

[Ben]

Yeah, yeah, yeah. So I brought them the electric skidoo that has modes so you can detune it to go like 10 miles per hour.

[Ryan]

Oh, you can.

[Ken]

That's what I was thinking.

[Ryan]

I was like, okay, you threw a bunch of children on like you know an hour.

[Ben]

Like this thing is fast.

[Ryan]

Yeah, it's a ripper.

[Mike]

It does.

[Ben]

It does 60 miles per hour with Evan on it. It's a ripper. And then the other one is like the Articat 200, which will do, I don't know, 25 miles per hour, but.

[Ryan]

It'S a hopped up 120.

[Ben]

It's pretty good. Yeah. And so anyway, I surprise them with both of them and me and my brother and my brother in law go and pick them up from the shop. We bring them to the shop or to my parents house and we had this whole planned where my brother was going to get the kids Their helmets. And then me and my brother in law were going to pull out into the front of the house and they were going to be like looking out the window and see us with the snowmobiles. So my brother goes inside and we unload them and I'm like, all right. To my brother in law, James, I go, all right, you rode a snowmobile before, right? And he's like, yeah. Not thinking anything of this.

[Evan]

Right.

[Ryan]

It's a 120.

[Mike]

Yeah. Which one do you put them on?

[Ben]

I put them on the 120. I put them on the electric skidoo. My favorite skidoo. Because I had to go over that 200 is a piece of like it will not start. Like there's something wrong with it. So I'm, I'm.

[Micah]

Before or after you guys wrote them? Before.

[Ben]

I would, every time I started it, I had to spray.

[Evan]

There's a reason we didn't use that one in a video because.

[Ben]

Yeah. So I'm over there messing with this 200, spraying ether in it, trying to give it gas and like pull the pull start. And all of a sudden I just.

[Evan]

Hear.

[Micah]

Oh my gosh.

[Ben]

And I look back and James, sorry to blow up your spot here. James is like underneath this snowmobile piled up into the pine tree.

[Evan]

My favorite part is that this happened within seconds of riding it.

[Ben]

I'm like, james, what the fuck? And I, so I run over there, I like get this snowmobile off of him. I'm like, bro, what happened? And he's like, I slipped. And I was like, slipped? This is a children's toy. How did you slip and just run this thing into the tree?

[Ryan]

Yeah, he crashes up and then Ben starts.

[Ben]

It's a twist throttle. Oh, it is twist throttle. So when starts going south, you grab more whiskey throttle.

[Evan]

Oh, I was like slipped translates to whiskey throttle.

[Ben]

It's kind of.

[Evan]

Yeah.

[Ben]

So it translates there, right. So I'm just like, whoa. And then I go, are you sure you know how to ride this thing? Right? Cuz we got to get both of them to the front of the house here. And we're in the driveway and he's like, yeah, yeah, yeah, I got it. I just slipped. And I'm like, well don't slip again. Otherwise you're going to run into my car right there at my parents house.

[Ryan]

Did you tune it down for him?

[Micah]

Yeah. Why don't you put.

[Ben]

Yeah, I, I, I did at this point. I did at this point.

[Mike]

So originally though it was, I think.

[Ben]

It might have been zooted up. I tune it down I hop on the other one and I start driving around the garage. Meanwhile, he's. He's a big guy, right? Like, he's tall. And that's a tiny little. It's a children's toy. And he's like, just trying to sit on this thing. And I think while he's trying to get comfortable, he starts whiskey throttling again. This time I'm in front of him, so he starts whiskey throttling towards me. And so I jump off my sled and I hide behind it. And thankfully he's like, got a better seated position where he's able to, like, stand up and get off of it and kind of ghost rides a little bit. But he wasn't on the throttle.

[Ken]

Oh, my gosh.

[Ben]

And I'm like, look at him. I throw my hands up and he's like, I'm good, I'm good. I was like, yeah, children on this? Sure looks like it. So we bring it around to the front of the house. We surprise the nieces and nephews. They were stoked. They come out and my brother's on one, I'm on the other. I'm trying to teach my niece and my brother's trying to teach his other daughter. We're doing laps on the pond and I'm. I'm just like riding behind. I'm teaching them, you know, how to run the throttle. And I'm telling them, all right, if you start panicking, let go of the throttle. I'm like, telling them, like, all right, you're doing good. Just remember, let go of the throttle if you start panicking.

[Mike]

So you didn't go over, tuck and roll first.

[Ben]

I did not. I should have. So I'm trying to make it, like, as clear as possible. Like, panic, let go. Worst case, jump off. Like, these things are so close to the ground, you could just slide at that point. And so they're loving it. Pretty soon they're both riding them by themselves. Or one, the older one was riding the articat by herself. Well, that articat was so finicky. So we put her on the skidoo. She's doing great. She's ripping around the pond on the skidoo. We go inside. Well, she like comes up like 30 minutes later and is like the snowmobile stuck in the cattails. The DNR listening right now is like, cat, no.

[Ryan]

So it gives a six year old a ticket for killing a couple of cattails.

[Ben]

So she piles into the. Into the cattails. My brother goes out there and he drags a snowmobile Out. And at this point, she'd been going for a little bit. So he goes, do you want to go inside now? And she was like, yeah, let's go inside. So Sam hops on it, cranks the power back up, because it would barely move with like a full size adult on it. So he cranks the power back up to like 60 mph mode, right? He's sitting there. She hops on, grabs the throttle, and pins it. He falls off the back. Because this thing will wheel if you pin it. It'll wheel. Yeah, he falls off the back. And at this point, she is just holding it pinned wide open, along for the ride. So next thing you know, she is beelining it across the pond. And like, you guys get speed built up. Yeah, you can get some speed built up, especially on that thing. Well, she hits the neighbor's driveway, which is a booter, is. It's like a little peninsula in between two ponds. And this driveway is probably, I don't know, 12ft wide. I'd say 15ft wide, maybe. Clean, clear, clean.

[Mike]

[Ben]

She clean clears it, Lands on the other side of the driveway, still on the sled. At that point, she had like kind of like Superman. Superman, like bailed off the sled. Goes one way, she goes the other. My brother's sprinting after, like halfway. You know, he's at the beginning of the pond at this point for how fast she got there. And, yeah, she missed, like, two trees. Like, she like, goalpost right in between the trees. And you know, that driveway is made by, like, railroad ties, too. So it's like, it's a big jump. Yeah. It's crazy that she was able to, like, clear it the way that she was.

[Ken]

Well, that. And if she would have kept going, it's like a solid wall on the other side of that.

[Micah]

Yeah.

[Ben]

It was actually probably best case Ontario. Right.

[Micah]

So, my gosh.

[Ben]

So my mom is sitting up in the house freaking, and she. She just happens to look out the window as Luca is flying across the pond and Sam is running after. So my mom watches it. My mom's like, oh, God. And I hear that. And I'm sitting in the driveway.

[Micah]

You're.

[Ben]

James is back on there in the driveway. And I just go white. I'm like, oh, shit. Uncle is in trouble. I knew. I already knew what happened. And so, yeah, she ended up being okay. She just got like a little bit of, you know, like, helmet rash just from like the. The strap, which is just kind of goes to show how tough kids are, you know?

You Take a fall like that.

Was she crying? I'm sure.

Oh yeah.

She comes in, she's crying, she won't even look at me. Now I'm the bad guy, right? And I'm just like, oh, this is not good.

[Ben]

Because she was loving it. And I was like, I'm uncle of the year, right? I'm fired up. And then that happens. And I'm like, uncle's got to go now.

You're scary guy who brings scary toys.

Exactly. So, you know, I start, I kind of lay low then for the rest of the night, like I would look at her across the house, she would start crying.

She start crying if you look at her.

It missed like hitting the front of the house, which is windows. It missed it in the living room, like bounced off of like the bushes and it. And it just sent her straight into the deck and it almost hit her sister.

Snowmobile took the brunt.

Maybe she flew off, hit it pretty good.

And so I hear this and I'm like, oh, of course, of course that happened.

Is anything messed up? I was like, if they're, if they're okay. Like are these snowmobiles piled up? And they're like, no, they're fine, they're fine. I was like, holy, this is a tough snowmobile. Move the deck. But it didn't end the snowmobile. Well then I'm there that night and I'm looking at it in one skis like this. I'm like, oh, you guys must not have looked at the snowmobile then. So the skidoo front end is piled up from James hitting the tree, and then the other one is all kitty wampus from hitting the deck, but they actually hop back on them, and they still love them.

So no more power sports. Why don't you put them on the lake? Wasn't the lake, like, a safe option?

No, the snow in Revelstoke was insanely deep, and it was probably the deepest I've ever ridden. So that was fun, right? Like, it was. It was everything you could ever ask for. Right. But the second day, I got tree weld and terrifying.

Like the snow will be. There'll be a hole around a tree.

[Micah]

So I was like, you know, making a rip up and I bounced off a log and like, just in that situation. Should have not came in with as much crazy.

Boys, I'm talking. I'm under the snow, goggles, helmet stuck or something. And I'm under the Snow like this. And immediately, yeah, I don't even turn off.

Had the tether, so that was good. But I'm. I can't see anything. And then I'm panicking like crazy for 15 seconds and I'm like, oh, yeah, don't panic because it's just going to use your oxygen 10 times faster. And I'm still like, okay, okay. And then I'm like, I can't get to my radio. And then I'm just like moving my head around and then I like, clear my face and I'm like, okay, I can feel I'm not gonna die. But then I'm like, how's anybody gonna find me? And then after that, buddy, Jeff. Jeff Dennis, AKA Sled junkie comes up and luckily he. I don't know, you know, I think saw someone up there. I'm gonna go this way. And he like, drives right over me and like, pushes a little more snow down. But luckily after I cleared, so I cleared out. And then like, the snow's like right there and I'm just like, re stuck again. I'm like, well, at least he saw me. I think we were in such a little steep area that it took him like two more tries to get back to me. But I was chilling. I'm just like stuck in the snow like this. And then he eventually got you, like.

Yeah, it was terrifying. And also, so I'd say two things. One, I'm just gonna do my best to not end up in a tree well ever again. And two, I can't even imagine being an avalanche. I was just freaking out for like 10 or 15 seconds. And like, I was. I was fine.

Yeah.

And how long were you stuck in there?

[Evan]

I, like, a minute maybe.

I mean, we basically just kind of sat there. My dad built a fire and then.

We weren't even. I mean, it was like, my dad was calm, so it kind of. He kind of set the tone of the situation where he kind of stayed pretty chill about it. So it wasn't like he's not panicking, making everything worse.

I mean, I was. I was young enough to the point where he. We weren't going to. Going for that. My brother was doing.

No. Especially, like, when the visibility basically just drops to zero.

It's just like the ocean terrifying. And we've gotten a lot better. I mean, like, what you just said, like, we used to go out and care more about our GoPro than any. Any gear, you know, besides.

[Ben]

Yeah. We didn't bring a single piece of survival.

[Evan]

Yeah. So this has changed a lot.

[Ryan]

Well, we just started going with people that did. Like, we used to go with ourselves because that's. We didn't know anyone else. And then as soon as we like met people like Jane Blaine and Sane and David and all these guys that live out in the mountains. They know the severity of it and so we, we more just. Just go where they tell us is safe because they know avalanche conditions where before really no avalanche conditions. Like it's crazy. Probably all the gnarly situations that we were in that could have been triggered. They always have like supplies of when things do happen. Right. Like that where you have to spend.

The night and those guys we're riding with. It wasn't even suggestion. It was a requirement to have that stuff.

[Ben]

And I think like a lot of people from the Midwest probably don't even have like Abby bags or beacons.

[Evan]

They said they, they'll sell them. They do avalanche classes here. I think if you're going to go to the mountains even once you should take an avalanche class.

Like even just recreationally like for just just a boys weekend. Just take the dang Abby.

Yeah. A couple hours you come here, you hang out a bunch of people and talk snowmobiles.

Especially if you don't know what you're doing exactly out there with any people don't know.

It's seriously it's like a lot of these canyons and terrain traps are death traps essentially. Like if if it's a wind loaded face and somebody's up trying to hit a high mark line and it triggers it and the rest of the crew is sitting down there watching everybody out. It could kill four people potentially if it was a big enough avalanche and nobody's wearing beacons or, or probes or Abby bags. Like did you guys see that avalanche? That long track Jack posted, was that.

[Ryan]

The one Jackson Hole or whatever, the one that was like 12ft deep?

[Ben]

Yeah. But it was like a huge face that released and then there was like a couple guys down below. Most of them got out of the way but then one of them wasn't out of the way and it swept him away.

[Ryan]

Yeah that was in.

[Ben]

Luckily he was at the surface.

[Evan]

Stay on top.

[Ben]

They could find them.

[Evan]

But yeah the biggest takeaway for the multiple group thing is like he the when I was at the class here he was saying and don't quote me because it, it could be a little different but like your chances of survival if one person is buried are actually pretty good. Especially if the people around you know how to. But your chances of surviving if to be. If you're one of Two people buried go down significantly. I don't know. It's not like you can really choose, but you can. You can kind of choose that. But other than that, the other highlight of my trip was Spenny, was he was in Revel Soak with Dalton. And then when I went back, he came back. He's like, I'm going to sled. And I'm like, I'm not going to tell him, like, dude, I don't think you should sled. Like, if ready with his. His wrist cut. If you're ready, like, come do it. And we were all skeptical. He was even skeptical when we got to the park.

He was like, dude, I'm scared.

He's like, I don't actually. Like, I don't know how this is gonna go, and I just don't want to hold anybody up. Luckily, there you just go up to the cabin and the snow was insanely deep, like 100 yards off the trail. And he killed it.

Nice, dude. It was like, the last time I'd FaceTimed him, he was moving his hand slow. And then when he showed up, he's just flicking it all over. You know, he's still got a journey, but, yeah, it was crazy. Like.

Yeah, he's pull. Pulling pull tabs as part of his. Part of his physio, which they call it physio in Canada. I know we call it PT but they're always like, oh, do more physio. And he's always gaming and probably jacking off and whatever.

We got a couple little things we got to expand on. The government just. They always want just a little more information, but, you know, it's basically, they just want to know a little bit more about, like, you know, we're saying he's a pro rider. How do you get to that level? Like, what was his journey from start to. They do that's basically what the. The lawyer described. Like, we have to describe. Okay, this is how he started. This is the requirements for, you know, where. From where he started to where he is today. And like, race results, number of entrance, the requirements. You have to. Have to get into these races.

Yeah, and it's like we're just trying to motorsport. It's. I think we got one document we got to send off. He's in Forbes, is he?

So I need to move it because it is really. It's like almost two miles out from the access and there's a snowstorm coming in in two days. So I do need your home. You need to move it a little closer to shore. So it's not quite. It's like really far away from all the other ice houses.

Yeah, because it's thick ice. And then also like the one of the guys is like, oh, we, you know, bring it out here. We got a cluster of two other ones out there. And everybody left you because the guide on the lake said, oh, you should go to this spot because it's got really good fish. And there was really good fish the whole night.

You're just living there.

I have lived there for. Are you fishing three of the last four nights? I do actually. I bought a fishing license and the, the ice house.

Because Ken, at first you're like, I literally am not going to drill holes. And then we're all like, you got to drill holes. And then Gavin came and then you guys are catching fish and now you're kind of a fisherman.

[Ryan]

When is the fish fry?

[Ken]

We didn't keep any of them.

Well, because there's a, there's a slot. So you can only keep fish from like catching crappies.

You can keep crappies.

Well, there's other fish too, but you can only about. I don't fucking know. You can only keep fish from like one size to another.

And none of the fish we caught like man fell into that range. So I was like, okay, now we got to throw them all back.

Were you nervous when you were dragging it out there, being you got the heaviest ice house and then you also have the heaviest vehicle with your Tesla Cybertruck and they're connected together.

I did research. A Cyber truck is 6,600 pounds. A GMC Durmax 3500 is like 78 or 8,000. So it is lighter.

So you're rolling like 20,000 pounds either way.

You get a winch, Mike could pull a truck out of the ditch and like four inches of stone. We're gonna go do a vehicle recovery. A frozen lake 30ft down.

I met a guy in Canada who did recoveries like that. I'm like, oh, that's cool. So you kind of some pretty crazy ones. And then I'm like, how deep? You know, he's like, oh, like, you know, average of like the lakes there are deep. So like he's talking about this one that was 60ft down. And I'm like, it just seems crazy deep. And like they pull it up, right? And then they find like something like a tire iron lodged in the steering wheel and then like a pole lodged on the gas.

Oh, so they clearly did fraud.

[Evan]

Yeah, yeah. I'm like trying to get.

Did they, did they spoil or is it stolen?

[Evan]

I don't know.

They didn't think it would be recovered or what?

Yeah, or like a scuba Diver would, like, go down there, and I'm not.

But it might have been a stolen vehicle.

If your boat sinks, you can just leave it, and it costs a bunch of money to recover it, and then you just say you have it now. Well, we were. They never. They'll sit there forever.

So as long as you abandon the boat, you don't have to pay.

I don't know. That's just what this dude was telling me. He was like, they charged by the foot. However deep it is, we might need.

And I remember when, when I did that snowmobile skip across the ocean, the seato guy was there and we told him what we were gonna do and he was just chilling like, oh, yeah, I'll help you. Like, it sounded like if I sank it, we probably would have had it out of there in an hour and just already been done. Like, you know, like it would have been quick, it would have cost.

But you didn't.

I think it was a guy just like trying to get clicks, obviously. And he thought that going after Gavin and saying that he wasn't like a true three wheeler guy while he's got like his three wheeler collection in the background. But like, bro, nobody's doing more for the three wheeler community than shred 80. I hate to break it to this guy and the rest of the three wheeler world, but, like, nobody was doing anything with three wheelers before Gavin. And also I, I don't know how much more there is to do.

Like, that's actually where it was tough because coming. When he comes around, we try to give him good YouTube advice. And Ben first and foremost is like, dude, you know, of course, love the three wheeler gig, but diversify, like, you're such a good entertainer. Do anything, do all kinds of stuff.

All it took was a little health insurance scare where it's, oh, you're going to pay it. Astronomical amount of money. And here we are.

The fact that it wasn't a billboard with your phone number on it is pretty crazy. It was 200 a year. In the health insurance scare, it was like 1200. Well, hey, you gotta save money like that either way.

I don't know if I want to talk about us trying to get us hooked on nicotine. I don't know. You're doing it for the health benefits you say Cognitive.

What health benefits are there for nicotine?

Alzheimer's brain.

I don't think you have anything to worry about that for at least 40 years.

Like, if it wasn't four months ago, Ben was sitting in Ken's chair, and Ken was sitting in Ben's chair.

I just can't wait to fast forward six years from now when Ben's trying to get off it.

And it's not hard on your lungs. Like, you could do those all day. And you're not gonna breathe heavy.

I think you would feel. It'd be a rough three days, and then I think you would start to feel way better afterwards. That was my experience.

I. I think you can do this, Ev. You just gotta put your mind to it, and you'll feel a hell of a lot better.

I thought we were taking him to rehab.

I was like, are you guys seriously going to rehab for nicotine? This is the most ridiculous thing possible.

[Ben]

That was a cons. We did consider that.

[Ken]

That would have been even more ridiculous. But the phone. The phone call was very annoying For a brief stint in time.

[Micah]

Yeah.

[Ben]

The rehab. We. Man, that was. That was almost funnier than the billboard itself. Well, yeah, maybe 20, 27, though, Ev.

You know, eventually. You do have to stop it, though.

Do I actually have to? I mean, maybe I should.

Maybe the government's just gonna outlaw them one day.
