In this episode, I wanted to discuss suicide. I understand completely how uncomfortable and even frightening a conversation like this could be. Its important to bring awareness to the topic despite how frightening it could be. I work in a psychiatric setting as an acute adult psychiatric therapist where I have seen a tremendous increase of individuals coming in for have either thoughts or plans on how they want to harm themselves. So many questions arise. What leads people to this? What can be done to bring about effective coping skills that could lead to a different life trajectory? If you or a loved one are struggling please never be afraid of saying you are struggling. I know its scary or may even feel isolating but you matter and so do these feelings.
